I call on the 24th of July, they told me I had 30 days to pay my insurance but when I call it was canceled. Once I get some more insurance they don't never have to worry about me. Customer Service is terrible. Do not get no insurance from them, is no damn good.

Where to start. My boyfriend was paying about 190 some dollars for his insurance until they canceled his policy cause they said some lady said she was married on his insurance. He lost his platinum membership cause of this and his good pricing, why should he be punished? Now he pays about 380 and just recently he had three payment declined over six months, but the last payment wouldn't have been declined if the agent working for Progressive didn't tell him to ignore the letter he got. I called to complain, talked to this supervisor Shelia. She said she listened to the call but couldn't fix it cause accounting wasn't opened. She gave me a number to call back that was a number for someone named Lauren. So unprofessional.
My boyfriend has been bullied, shaken down and deceived by Progressive. We are both Progressive owners. We both will probably change our insurance company after this awful experience where the rude agents basically tell you there is no hope, no matter how long you stayed with their company. Definitely unsatisfied.

On the 11th of June, I was hit by a young man whose parents carry Progressive Insurance. Sitting at a stoplight, he hit my trailblazer never hitting his brakes. His car went underneath mine lifting my back end up at a considerable angle then slammed it down. From computer flying off, seat breaking, my windshield to my entire exhaust being ripped off, to wiring being mangled, frame damage, you name it, it broke. I'm from Oklahoma and was approx 300 miles from home in Lincoln, Nebraska when I was hit. Here it is more than a month later and I'm still stranded here with no end in sight. Progressive has got to be the biggest ripoff I've ever came across. My trailblazer is unsafe and can't be drove. And they won't pay for it, won't even meet me face to face. Stuck in Nebraska.

The name your price tool to fit your budget by Flo is a fake. After your six months Progressive increases your rate without even notifying you. When I told them I was on a fixed income my payments met my budget they said my increase was due because I was only offered a six month discount. That's not what the name your price tool commercial said. Then I was told based upon the number of claims submitted for my area the cost is spread out to all their customers. So I took the advice of one of your reviews and tried USAA. I wish I had them six months ago because I'm paying half of what I paid with progressive now that I've joined USAA.

I have been with Progressive Insurance for several years. I have had a clean record the whole time and for several years before that. Progressive claims they offer accident forgiveness, but like all insurance companies it is a scam. It has a bunch of contingencies attached like the claim has to cost less than 500$. In this day and age it NEVER costs that little to fix a car. So, basically, what happens is that I end up not getting my car fix due to fear of them raising my rates. Why do we have insurance? To pay to get your car fixed in an accident, but we don't because they raise our rates even if you are a safe driver with a clean record!

I was happy to go with Progressive because its first 6-month premium was very competitive. However, this is a "suck you in" rate, and once the first 6 months passes, the cost increases, and the customer is charged for all claims, at fault or not. A man on my road gunned his truck out of his driveway and hit my car broadwide on the column between the front and rear seats, totalling the car. I was able to avoid hitting a yard light and the home of his neighbor and had no injury. I did have an at-fault accident when I went in the ditch as a result of a road construction sign (no injury).
Six months later, a deer ran in front of my car, and my choice was to hit it or go into a house (no injury). The at-fault accident was the first driving infraction I had had in almost ten years. My rate increased by over $500 per year for the first two accidents and $400 a year for the deer accident. My first premium was about $460/six months, and now the quote if over $1,000/six months. When I went to other companies for quotes, I found that Progressive refuses to complete the fault section of the information sent to Lexis-Nexis (the company that keeps your driving stats and where insurance companies go to get your driving record), so that you are listed at-fault for all driving encounters. (As a result, other companies cannot give you competitive quotes, and this ensures your continued stay with Progressive.)
I filed a dispute with Lexis-Nexis which sent a copy of my dispute to Progressive. Progressive did not respond, even though their reps told me that they could see on my Lexis-Nexis report that I was listed as not at fault, a lie. I sent the accident report to Lexis-Nexis, and they confirmed in writing Progressive's lack of response to the dispute and they removed the not-at-fault accident from my record. I talked with a manager at Progressive and he said he was unaware that Progressive did this (right!). So, now I'm contacting companies again for quotes. I think Progressive is one of the most underhanded companies with which I have dealt.

After my accident they took my car to do an assessment and called it a total loss. They were fair enough with finding comparable cars but they then deducted a fairly large sum from every vehicle calling it the adjusted sale price, as if they know what the car will sell for. I contacted all the dealers they had listed and 5 of the 8 cars had already sold at or very near list price but the insurance company was still unwilling to readjust their price to reflect actual sold prices.
The next big thing they do is under rate the condition of the car to rob you of even more money. My car in a fair assessment was slightly better over condition than the norm for my year and mileage, making it 3.2 - 3.5 out of a 5 rating due to things like I hadn't power washed my car in a couple months and drive a gravel road semi regularly. My rating was partially knocked down to a 2.35 because of dirt, come on, dirt washes off. I have dealt with many insurance companies through the years for myself and family members but this was the first time with Progressive. It has been the worst experience I've ever had with any company. I am warning everyone I know to stay as far away from Progressive as they can if they want fair and honest treatment.

Our Yamaha boat was in our marina slip and we received a call in early June from the maintenance supervisor that our boat was sinking. While on the phone with him, we requested that he flip the bilge pump on until we could get to the marina and see what had occurred. We had experienced several days of heavy rain and due to the location and direction our boat was facing though that maybe it had taken on excessive amounts of water due to this. We cleared the boat out of water and waited until the next day to see if the boat would stay clear of water. Unfortunately, our boat took on water overnight and it was again sitting exceedingly low in the water. We tried to start the engines and they refused to turn over. One engine sounded as though it was attempting to turn and the other one just sounded as if it choked. We had the boat towed to the dock and removed it from the water.
We had contacted Progressive Insurance and notified them of the issues with the boat. After a day or two we received a phone call that we could drop it at a shop to get an estimate of what was wrong with the boat and the cost of repairs. It has been over a month since our claim was made and I have only heard from our adjuster 2 times in this process - the initial contact and once to get approval to do the flush of the engines by the company where the boat is located. Every occasion when I call the adjuster, I am sent straight to voicemail.
Today in the mail, I received a notice that our claim has been denied due to a worn hose that let water into our boat. At the bottom of the letter there is a large list of reasons they will not cover repairs to your boat. I haven't heard any news from the repair shop, so I phoned them today and notified them of this information and inquired as to why they hadn't called me to inform me of what was wrong with my boat. And the gentleman stated that it was because they hadn't done the estimate on it yet. How can Progressive make a claim denial when the shop still hasn't figured out what is wrong? I am so disappointed and frustrated by this process. My husband is deployed and I feel as though they are taking advantage of this situation.

Let me just say that I made a huge HUGE mistake getting this insurance and for your own sanity, DO NOT PURCHASE THIS INSURANCE. Yeah the commercials, and ads are so convincing, however once you have paid for your policy, you will start noticing random changes on your policy that will result in you having to pay more money SOONER than your original billing date. The worst part is if you call customer service and ask them to explain the changes, they can't! I called and talked to 4 agents, all 4 were stumbling through their words trying to explain, I just gave up and hung up.
My story: I purchased insurance in March, I paid for up to 6 months so my next payment was not until September. In April I received an email saying that I had to pay $260 in May!?!? I called and was informed that this was incorrect and to not worry because I did not have to make a payment until September. In June I received another email saying that my policy has been cancelled due to missed payments!?!?!? I called and 2 customer service agents said that it was due to discount changes and the other 2 were just rude and unable to fully explain why this happened. Thought about getting it back but I think I'll just pass, things went south too quickly. One bad experience is all I need.

I'm 28 yrs old, homeowner, honorable veteran, college grad. and work in the Public Service field. I had my DL suspended 6 years ago in 2009, but nothing ever since; no driving violations or accidents. I had Progressive auto insurance from 2012 until 2015. Progressive tells you that they are getting you all these great discounts and what not, but when asked on numerous occasions, they could never tell me the exact dollar amount of how much I was actually saving. Besides that, my premiums kept going up every six month.
When asked, Progressive stated that it was raised according to where I lived and the economy and a bunch of other BS. I then told them that I lived by myself in the country side about 1 hour away from the city with a population of about 15K people. I've never filed a claim, paid on time, been nothing but the ideal customer. Why was I being punished instead of rewarded?! They did not have an answer except gave me the runaround like, "Well if you bundle your homeowners insurance you can save some money..."
I finally said screw Progressive and switched to USAA. Shame on me for sticking around that long. People don't screw yourself by going with Progressive. I paid around $210 full coverage/month with Progressive; Now I'm paying $90 full coverage/month with USAA. And to Progressive, I would like a refund for being robbed the past 3 years I've been with you guys. Someone needs to conduct an ethical investigation on these crooks.

On 6/15/2015 I was driving in a parking lot going about 5mph when a vehicle that was initially parked backed out and hit me. I contacted the other party's insurance company Progressive. The claims representative explained to me that it sounds like we were both liable but would still have my vehicle adjusted. Of course I disagreed with this because I had the right of way. Their insurer backed into my vehicle. She was not paying attention and was using her phone. I contacted my insurance company to report the incident and they told me the other party was liable and it wouldn't be worth me filing a claim with my insurance with the damages only amounting to 700.00. Today is 7/11/2015 and the claim is still open. The adjuster from Progressive has yet to return my calls to give me an update on the status of my claim and their investigation.

My premium payment increases and I've been with them for many years without ever having any claims against or on my policy and guess what? Was told the reasons of increases was because overall in the state of Washington so many claims has been put through by policy holders and other factors that causes my payment to increases. REALLY? I've paid my insurance on time forever and always a careful driver. Both my husband and I and zero claims and we're affected by those other policy holders who put in claims? What does that has to do with my policy that has zero claims and on time payments never late? What a dumb reason of increasing my premium! The worse customer service ever!

My (minor) son was involved in a three car accident. He was at a red light when the car behind him (Progressive insured) tried to change lanes. A car hit the second car and pushed him into my son's car. The third car left the scene and neither my son or the other driver was able to get that license plate. Long story short, Progressive contacted me to check out the story. I returned the phone call within an hour and reached voicemail. I followed the directions following the voicemail and then was transferred to someone who obviously was not Flo. No cheery helpfulness here.
Last week I received a letter stating that Progressive had been trying to contact me without success. I called immediately and, once again, was met with voicemail. I left my information. The next day, the rep called me back and stated that she did not need to speak with me, that there was nothing they could do and would not be paying my deductible. I asked her if they were even going to try to find the other driver. She became very indignant and HUNG UP on me. Wow!! I would recommend that Progressive find a better quality of people or stop the false "cheery Flo" advertising. I am now making it my mission to let everyone know NOT to use Progressive as their insurer.

My son in law was killed in a car accident in May 2015. There were no drugs, alcohol, or cell phone involved. I cannot believe the way this car insurance company handles things. I was with Progressive for maybe one year. 6 month into my really expensive account, I got a used car and was paying over $180 a month for full coverage (EXPENSIVE). I had the car for not even a month, and somebody opened their door right as I was passing and tore my side up. I was trying to get a hold of my claim representative, and they were nowhere to be found!! I called them maybe 10 times over two weeks, left voicemails every time. I gave them a couple days after the first call, but after that, the other insurance was pressuring me with all sorts of requests that I couldn't understand. SO I DESPERATELY NEEDED PROGRESSIVE TO STEP UP FOR ME!! Didn't hear from them until I started handling the claim myself, and I must've not been doing it right because THEN he called, being really aggressive about all my mistakes.
WELL WHERE THE ** HAVE YOU BEEN?? Wasn't much help anyway. Tried to make it seem like my fault when it wasn't at all. I finally had to take the other people to court, and I won because I did absolutely nothing wrong!! I had to pay for all the repairs myself, and then they reimbursed me at the end. AND this isn't even the end. After this big mess, Progressive tried to raise my monthly dues with $100, bringing it to $280!! Who pays $280 a month for a small car with a completely clean 10 years driving record?! Their reason was that they just found out I live in Orange County. I was living in Orange County the whole time!!! That's the address they had been sending the bill to for almost a year!! I'm not stupid, so I left ASAP. I suggest you never get involved if you have any self respect.

Our employee was involved in an auto accident several months ago. It was 100% the fault of the other driver and the other driver was cited. The other driver was insured by Progressive. Progressive listed the vehicle as a 'total loss' but their settlement was several thousand less than what was owed. (We'd purchased the vehicle 'new' a month and a half prior and it had less than 500 miles on it.) When I questioned the gap between their offer and the pay off value, they recommended I file a claim with our insurance company for the difference. Doing so would impact our future rates and I rejected that offer.
Their offer letter gave us 48 hours to accept. When we didn't accept, they picked up the rental vehicle they provided us and we were forced to rent a replacement vehicle on our own. We spent $2k on rental fees, until we purchased a replacement. I sent Progressive a certified demand letter, asking them to 'act in good faith', and itemized our losses and expenses, but they never responded. Two days ago I received a certified letter from a local auto yard stating that our vehicle is being listed as "abandoned." I called to find out why and the representative said that Progressive has released the vehicle from their responsibility and we now have to go pick up the vehicle or it'll be sold. So we're going to incur more fees - that I'm certain Progressive will refuse to pay.
Something has to be done to stop Progressive's 'extortion-like' tactics. I have no problem seeking an attorney to recover all our losses but a general consumer may not have this ability - and these tactics could be financially crippling for them. I know exactly what Progressive is doing - they are working the percentages, betting that only a small percentage will actually file suit against them. What will it take for them to reform their MO? Perhaps a class action lawsuit? Any suggestions?

When looking for auto insurance, of course we want to get the best possible rate. I called several different companies, and Progressive seemed to be the cheapest, especially after providing you with the option to use their "SnapShot" device which you plug into your car to monitor your driving, to prove you are a safe driver and then get an even better rate. This sounds so great and all, and for awhile I was happy. UNTIL I found out that my insurance sales rep was just trying to get a quick sale. (I guess you get what you pay for.) He should've been more informative in that in the state of Georgia, if your car has a lien-holder, then you are REQUIRED to have full coverage.
The sales reps are trained to know this stuff. I'm 25 years old, I'm not an idiot. But there is so much stuff they say to you over the phone that I just want to get the best rate & be legal!! Instead, I was mislead into get the bare minimum coverage (which of course got me a great rate) but my lien-holder ended up tacking on an extra $2800 to my loan!!!! NOW, that my car has been totaled (not my fault, as I was just sitting at a red light), I come to find out that I am upside down on my car loan because PROGRESSIVE mislead me and did not advise or correct me on the type of coverage I needed to have.
I feel like as an insurance agent, it is the right thing to educate and advise your customers on why you need a higher coverage. I think this is completely inconsiderate. This guy KNEW what he was doing. Taking advantage of a girl who is just trying to do the right thing, (but also save money) and sold her the bare minimum thinking that's she covered. BUT NO. Now I'm in the hole and Progressive has ended up costing me EVEN MORE MONEY than if I had just paid for full coverage in the beginning. I will NEVER recommend Progressive to anyone!!!!!

I had been with Progressive for 7 years, never late with a payment, never one claim filed. I was hit by an uninsured driver in Dec. 2014 and had uninsured driver coverage, which I utilized. They totaled my car out and that process was fairly simple. However, the bodily injury side has been BEYOND a nightmare. To start the agent told me completely wrong and said I should have all medical run thru my health insurance, wrong. I ended up having have everything re billed which delayed things further and dealing with collection agencies was horrible.
Then after trying to get a hold of my rep for a month I finally got in touch with her to find out that she was missing med docs that I told her I could have sent over to their office. After doing that I've now been trying to get in touch with her for OVER a month and she won't return my calls. I now have to hire an attorney just to get this stupid claim finished. I can't get the medical treatment I need because I can't afford to pay anymore co-pays so I'm sitting here praying she returns a call. Her excuse last time... "Oh, I've been planning an estate sale for my parents and I've been really busy." Really Progressive?? I was hit by a truck.
To add insult to injury they tried to use the accident against me, even though it was ruled 100% the other driver's fault and raised my rates from 61.00 to 123.00 per month. No thank you. I went with AllState - got better coverage for 67.00 per mo. on a new vehicle and I hit a raccoon just last month and they literally called me every other day to see if I had any questions on the claim. The body shop they go thru even loaned me a car so I didn't have to rent one. What a difference. I have been telling everyone I know to switch, which they have. I highly suggest not to go with Progressive, they'll take your money and screw you over in the end. It's been a sad and frustrating process.

Are you kidding me? My disabled Veteran Husband was in the vehicle when we were sideswiped with no cause or reason or warning! On top of that, my three young children are now terrified to get in the car every day! My six year old daughter has had multiple nightmares over all of this!! How does a company not have compassion for the people that their clients hurt?
I truly do not understand how my Husband can honorably serve our country and my children who are innocent in all of this have to suffer while I argue with an insurance company to at least replace their car seats! The claims adjustor said that before she could pay out for the cost of the car seats until I bought them! When I explained that three car seats for children would cost well over $300.00 and that I could not afford that, she offered no solution! I finally asked if I sent her pictures of the make and model if she could then issue the payment for them and she clearly very annoyed by my even asking said, "Sure fine, okay, I guess."

He works in the Malvern office. They finally went and got my car back after almost 30 days of sitting in storage. The claim adjuster then tells me that they were only going to pay for ten days of storage and the other 20 days are my responsibility. Then they call me back with an estimate and says that they are going to take 900.00 dollars out of my check. I told him that I didn't agree with that and the adjuster said if I didn't agree with that then I would have to come and get my towed car and then they wouldn't pay me for anything which I later found out isn't true.

On 10/01/2014 I was involved in an accident in my 2000 white Volkswagen Beetle with insurance. I reported the incident to Progressive Insurance claim department the same day to start the process. Within a week they had me meet an adjuster who would take pictures as part of the claims process. After a week I called to see what going on, only to be told that the other party said it was my fault. I denied that. Claimed and expected them to fight for me because I was victimized. Upon further investigation, I found out I had uninsured/underinsured motorist insurance. My agent never told me this and never called me back and my claim went unattended. The accident was proven by Progressive that I was not at fault. Now that I have brought it to their attention they are giving the runaround. Now I have a different agent who had the nerve to have an attitude because I want answers.
I have tried to speak with corporate only to be directed to another Progressive agent that gave me limited information. My policy covered this type of accident and my agent refused to assist me in using that insurance. I was mishandled, mislead, lied to and betrayed by a company I trusted. I have made all the calls with promises of call back which never happened. They are putting me off so they can find a way to not pay my claim. The Progressive agent acted in BAD FAITH and gave me useless information to get me off the phone. In the meanwhile my car when unfixed, I was injured and no one never called or pointed me in the correct direction. My car untimely suffered because the adjuster failed to take enough pictures and now they say they need another look at my car before they will offer me any compensation. They are putting me on hold again with the hopes that I will just sit back and wait on them.
I have never felt disrespected or betrayed by any type of company I trusted to have my best interest. I have been without a car ever since. I have missed out on jobs as well as family business because I was carless. To add insult to injury they want to give me the run around all while finding ways to lowball my claim. I have been duped by a multi-Billion dollar corporation. I only want what's owed to me and to be made whole again without more lies and run around tactics. This situation has caused me great anxiety and sadness to know that people would steal your money with no intention of ever helping you get better. They are pulling me from every direction and I am about to break.
I paid them so diligently that I overpaid and they never said you are overpaying. They are thieves who steal from hard working individuals like myself for their own self gain. This is a horrible way to do business and it's been done to me because I made a claim. They had hoped I'd forget and then say the statute of limitation has run out and they wouldn't be held accountable anymore. As of now that is not the case, I have a legitimate claim. They said it was proven not to be my fault, they contacted the other party with information I provided, only to lie to me. They said, "it's he say, you say and if you go ahead with this claim your insurance will go through the roof." They lied, I was eligible. They should of assisted me all along.

I have been paying $106 a month for my 05 Subaru sti for full coverage. I have been with this company for 5 years even though when I was in accidents (all not my fault), they never helped - I still kept them for some reason. My policy was ending this month so they gave me my new premium and now they want me to pay $136 a month when I have no accidents or tickets. The person I talked to on the phone said the increase is because I do business with them. Absolutely ridiculous, Progressive is a joke.

Please whatever you do, look into another insurance company. Progressive are robbers and thieves. I got in a car accident and the other party was in the wrong but because the other party had Progressive as well as I, they lied about who were in fault so they would not have to pay the extra money for the full damages for my vehicle. I was backing out of my drive way barely moving. The other party was speeding 40 miles per hour in my neighborhood. Did not stop at the stop sign. And the speed limit is 15 miles per hour. I was the one who got hit and my car was damaged, her car was fine. The police gave her (the other party) a citation because she was at fault. And Progressive said I was 80 percent in the wrong and she was only 20 percent in the wrong. I was only given money for 20 percent of the damages, not enough to buy another car. They more than doubled my policy without notice and demanded $3800 within two weeks because some consumer reporting agency said that some 16-yo driver lived at my address. I had to prove that someone who does not exist does not live at my house. NIGHTMARE COMPANY!!!

After waiting for nothing, we had to file a lawsuit, and currently waiting for our hearing on June 30th, 2015. After the filing, no calls or contact from Progressive to-date. This claim goes through their Malvern, PA claims center. These people are monsters and run an illegal operation. My son bought his first car less than a year ago. It was stolen from his work in April first thing in the morning. Police report was made and Progressive Insurance was notified. Of course the way they talked to my son and I on the phone was as if they knew it all and we were supposed to be guilty for his car being stolen. The questions they asked were like, "Was the car driven out of the country?" Just because we live in New Mexico does not mean we take off to Mexico. Lots of insinuating questions which bothered me because the lady on the phone from Phoenix sounded racist to me. My son was desperate to find his car and we and his friends drove all over Albuquerque for days and nights to see if we would spot the car. Progressive was not very cooperative at all and my son had to constantly make the calls to them with no result.
Finally the thieves blew out the engine and abandoned the car. Since the car is under my son's name, naturally the cops called my son. He went and had the car towed to a shop but also immediately contacted Progressive. Three weeks have gone by since the car was found and they have not done anything. Every time my son calls them, they make him feel like it all is his fault. They are now stating that the car engine was blown out before it was stolen which just does not make sense. They don't get it that the thieves drove that car when they stole.
This experience with Progressive has been a nightmare. One of the reviews posted said that she was in an accident and it was the other person's fault and he had Progressive Insurance and they immediately fixed her car. I am sure this is how Progressive lures other to buy their insurance and once you are under their hook, then when the time comes to take car of their clients, they make excuses and try to come up with stories to not fix your car.
This is the worst insurance company ever. I do not recommend this insurance company to anyone. I understand they have to get to the bottom of the truth but without them ever trusting their clients and having faith in them, a company like this should not exist at all. This company steals money from you in the form of insurance and when it is time for them to take care of their clients - they are not available for contact, they do not have time to contact you, or they concoct their own stories and make you feel at fault. If anyone is thinking of getting any kind of insurance, please do not get Progressive because when the time comes for them to take care of you. Progressive does not make any kind of progress...they come to a standstill and watch you get frustrated.

Hit something in the road and blew out two trailer tires. Call for roadside assistance and was denied because they had my 5th wheel travel trailer classified as a motor home. They paid for trailer damage and minor truck damage but would not budge on the denied roadside assistance claiming it was my fault for the misclassification. I filed complaints with both the Ca and Tx insurance commissioners (pol. bought in Ca, accident in Tx). Both said to either get a lawyer or arbitrate with a referee. Well arbitration with progressive costs money and I can't find a lawyer that will represent on a contingency.
After exhausting both avenues with CA and Tx commissioners and making final pleas with progressive that are now actually denying that road side assistance was ever even requested, now that has really pissed me off, I found the phone record of that call and contacted the company anonymously and sure enough they do have record of me calling? I am a disabled man and had to crawl under our 5th wheel to change tires with semi screening by at 80mph, my wife in tears because she just knew I was going to get hit and Progressive just didn't give a damn.
Now 7 months later they actually think we owe them money and it has appeared on my credit report. I am so furious at this company. I call for a quote and ask for multiple quotes from other companies because they seem to PRIDE themselves on trying to get the best quotes for their customers. SADLY after asking multiple times for quotes when I had this feeling he was only in it for Progressive... I was told 3 quotes... come to find out they were ALL Progressive and he told me the lowest of ways to pay for them... I accepted the lowest way I could pay it and then after getting off the phone realized that I may have just been forced into a sale without EVER hearing another quote from another company, no competition... just lying saying "these are the lowest quotes" and saying he would give me those extra quotes after giving him the info he asked for... I DID NOT get the LOWEST, I DID NOT GET ANY competition! They did not fight to have my business, they lied and continued with their agenda...
When I got off the phone realizing I may have not got the best of quotes but still got insurance (I run a company and must get something immediately) I decided to do my own research to see if they had done their job of competing for my business... they had not and I found out within a week or so I was being overcharged and had multiple other options! I call and tell them they swindled me into their insurance company and told them how they had not lived up to their end of the bargain, and I want a FULL RETURN OF THE MONEY I have handed them that I have now been proven to have given them under FALSE pretenses... turns out they won't give my money back and definitely NOT in FULL.
They also expect me to follow procedure and "law" which orders them to ask personal questions about my vehicle and registration and point being, they WON'T hand my money back without me pulling more money (that I don't have) out of my ass to BUY another policy from someone else, THEN they MUST talk to them to PROVE I have the policy before they consider giving back money THEY STOLE from ME. I don't have another insurance with that vehicle because I don't have MONEY they took from me to buy another!!
You lied to take my money and then want to follow exacts to keep my money! Give me my money back you theives and if the law wants to suspend my license because I’m without insurance. So be it!! Husband and I started a car insurance policy for 2 cars of Full Coverage about a year ago with Progressive. Received the quote was very satisfied with the premium rate. 6 months later time to renew, and there was a $16/mo increase. The next renewal $22/mo increase...the next renewal was a $39/mo increase...No Accidents, No changes in our driving history, no points or anything on either license...no changes occurred at all! Part 2 of this fiasco is In January. We requested a quote asking how much it would be to add our son to our policy who was purchasing a car that day...They told us the ridiculous amount and we of course said "No thank you, he will get his own through another company." That was Jan 23rd of 2015.
In May of 2015, I received a new declaration page showing a increase for our premium with a name added to our policy, only they had his first name correct but last name was incorrect. I called to question this and Progressive informed me that because we questioned about adding him on, they ASSUMED he was a member of our household and added him to our policy. Really!!! I was then informed I needed to fill out an Exclusion form to have him removed from policy that they would send me, sign it and send back. They had name wrong for him, birthdate incorrect, but if that's who they put on our insurance then please take him off...Signed it and sent it back.
Then I was informed that we needed to correct his birthdate on the form in order to take him off. I could not understand if you put him on without having correct birthdate why can't you take him off the same way. Now I feel they are trying to screw with me...but I corrected birthdate and sent the form again. So now the there's still an increase in the next payment due and I was informed that they wanted us to pay for coverage for my son from 4/1315 to 5/13/15. Are they crazy!!! I informed them "We will not do it and that you cannot bill me for something I did not request to have done and also he had his own coverage starting from 1/23/15 to present." So now they said I can send in that proof. Just way too much.
So after being a Progressive member and going this within first 2 years, we have now CANCELLED our policy with them. PLEASE DO NOT obtain car insurance from Progressive...They said if a driver lives in your house they automatically and add them to your policy...That's BS and I'm still considering reaching out to the Insurance Commissioner about this. I was being honest - I didn't have time to look. It all happened so fast. What makes me more angry is that I myself did all of their work on my end - I took photos, emailed them to Progressive, picked up my police report with the witness' statement on it and faxed it myself. They had to do nothing, I did it all myself so I could get in a rental car faster and of course they said 50/50 which makes not sense to me due to the fact he admitted to running the light and my eyewitness say it all...

On May 9, 2015 my vehicle was involved in an accident. My vehicle was struck from behind while I was stopped at a traffic light and it was pushed into the car in front. I immediately contacted my "trusty" insurance company Progressive Direct Insurance and filed a claim over the phone (policy number is ** and my claim number is **). Here in Florida you are required to have damages to cover property in case of an accident up to 10,000. That is the law. Of course, because I was not at fault I wanted to file a claim under the other driver's policy, who has Geico Insurance. The other driver was fined for the accident. The claim adjuster for Geico has denied the claim; first they stated they needed to determine who was at fault (which is ridiculous). Then they said the damages exceeded the $10,000 limit on the policy, amazingly coming to this conclusion without looking at my car.
To make matters worse, I am getting all this information from my own claims adjuster from Progressive, who by the way 30 days later still has not seen my car either. I decided to go see someone at a local body shop, recommended by the local dealership. While at this body shop (Maitland Auto Body in Casselberry Florida,) I spoke to a gentleman named ** who refused to give me an estimate. He said to me that this was standard procedure to deny claims due to the fact that there is not enough coverage under the policy of the party at fault's policy, and that he works with both Progressive Insurance and Geico Insurance. Although he refused to give me an estimate, he was very eager to get my claim number and the name and phone number of my claim's adjuster. By the way, this same shop has a sign in the front of the building advertising Free Estimates, and another one by the front counter stating that you must pay your deductible upfront.
The bottom line is that my own insurance company, Progressive Direct Insurance (the same one with all the Flo commercials) refuses to even do an estimate on my car to determine if the damages can be covered by the party at fault's insurance company. They seem eager to work with me to get my car fixed under my policy. I wonder what will happen to my premiums if I go that route. I also wonder if they are just in agreement with Geico, and who knows how many other insurance companies to deny customer the money that they are due under the law.

The driver behind them also didn't stop causing a second collision with our car. The driver that hit them fled the scene. We reported it to Progressive Insurance in April but because their insured wouldn't call them back for six weeks we were left unattended.
Now today Progressive Insurance denied the claim because of the second car. I get a text from the dispatcher (** @ Compass Marine) that the guy will be out in "1.45 - 2 hrs." At the three hour mark, I call and find out that the guy hasn't even left the dock yet and is refusing to.
The Coast Guard is concerned about a father and son stranded in the middle of nowhere and with nightfall coming. They ask if they can pull us off the boat, and I agree. So the Coast Guard sends a rescue helicopter and pull us off the boat. Now at this point, when you've screwed your customer so badly -- you would think they would be the top priority the very next day. Nope. It took a full five days before their guy shows up. Everyday for the five days I called, texted and let them know the pump would only hold out as long as the battery held out which is about 48 hours. The boat was filling with water with each wave to hit the side of the boat. The wave action was working the keel into the mud. So by five days later, when the guy shows up he says, "It isn't covered because it is a hard grounding and not a soft one," meaning the job has become a "salvage" and not a tow.
As soon as I get my boat back, I am cancelling Progressive and finding another company. I am sad that they got any money from me at all. Their delays caused a small problem to become a very large one and then they said in essence that you are not covered for the larger problem -- just the small one. They will never be able to explain the five-day delay in getting my property back, and if they made a mistake, they could have covered the extra problem. Progressive has to be the worst company that I have ever dealt with. They are not my insurance provider and they never will be after my current claim. I was rear-ended in my Toyota Tundra by a gentleman in a Toyota Yaris. His car was totaled without doubt. My truck had a smashed bumper, folded rear quarter panel, damage to the hitch, tailgate and bed. Nothing major and all primarily focused on the rear passenger side.
After 10 days of constantly calling Progressive and leaving messages and not knowing whether my truck was truly drivable or not (because they would not inspect it), I finally heard back from them. At that point I had left the local agent 9 voicemails, filed 5 complaints with their corporate office and sought council. The agent stated that the only reason they called me was because of my complaints. I explained that I didn't want to use my insurance company for fear of them possibly raising the rates even though it wasn't my fault. Once things began to get worked out, they demanded (not recommended) that I take my truck to the shop that they wanted because they prefer doing business with them. This is illegal in the state of California (if not everywhere).
After doing some research of local shops (because I am not from California and don't know the area well) I decided to try out their recommended shop. Progressive said that they set up a rental car for me through Enterprise and they would meet me at the shop. I arrived at the shop the following day only to learn that they had no idea that I was coming. I spent hours at the shop waiting on them to work things out with Progressive so that I could leave. On top of it, Enterprise had no idea I needed a car and was not ready to pick me up either.
It has been almost 2 weeks now since they started on my truck. I have gotten no updates (I requested daily updates and progress checks) and no time of when it should be ready. Again I have left countless voicemails for the agent and shop, and still no reply. Part of me wishes that I would have just claimed this all on my own policy so that it would have been handled better. At this point, a little extra cost is worth it.

Not the company you want if your car is totaled. What a shock to find out they don't use the NADA of Kelly Blue Book like reputable companies like State Farm use. Instead, they pay some company called Marshall's to use J.D. Powers to appraise your car. And then they electronically find some used cars for sale in your area and use those as a comparison, regardless of whether they meet the condition standards of your car. In our case, an immaculate, perfectly-maintained car was compared against 1 good car and a few real dogs, with no extra consideration even for ours having several brand new items (new brakes & tires in the past month).
If you like getting low-balled by a thousand dollars or more, Progressive is your company. And talking to them, at least the people I talked to, was pathetic. One adjuster actually told me that because I'm older and retired, things have changed a lot since I was in the swing of things. Flo, your company is not what you claim it is!

A few months later I tell them "Hey, I'm going on a 6 month deployment. Can I change my policy to just stowage, I'll be leaving it in CT?" "Sure," they say. Excellent. In the middle of deployment we pull into Scotland where I check my email (no Internet access on submarines at sea) where I see a notification of cancellation saying I need to provide them with a CT address even though at the top of the email it has my name with my CT address. Upon returning home I see the letter in the mail... In CT... saying my policy has been canceled and is not renewable.
Besides horrible professionalism and bad customer service, let's talk common sense. Why would I lie about living in CT? Everything is more expensive in CT including car insurance. I should of just lied and said I was driving in MI still and it would of been cheaper and probably would still have insurance. Anyone think it's possible to sue these scammers?

Involved in a minor accident on May 4, 2015 in my CHEVROLET Silverado. Immediately contacted Progressive (customer for 15 years). Initiated claim process. I was contacted the following day and was told I had to take my vehicle to one of their preferred repair shops. Closest one was 19.8 miles away. This is a major metropolitan area! Took vehicle to a FORD body shop as instructed. Quote was using re-manufactured part, reusing one damaged part with negotiated reduced labor rates. Was also told there may need to be adjustments to the quote for hidden damage. When I asked Progressive (via email) how a chrome bumper could be re-manufactured, I received no response. I never told the representative I did not want to have the vehicle repaired.
Approximately four days later I received a check for the repairs minus my deductible. On May 25th, I received an email asking me to complete a customer satisfaction survey. I completed the survey. I received a call from a "manager" on May 26th. During the conversation, I was told I did not have to take my vehicle to the FORD shop, that I had other options. When I asked why these options were not explained, I was told the Progressive will not "list ten options" and let you choose one. I was not treated with respect by this "manager". He routinely spoke over me as I tried to talk.
He continually apologized for MY displeasure, yet never offered any resolution other than the "new" option of taking my vehicle to a body shop of my choice, but only with their adjuster present for the quote. I explained I had already gotten a quote and the quote they provided "didn't add up" when compared. Parts prices were inflated in the Progressive quote. I purchased a NEW replacement bumper for $100 less than the Progressive quote out of my pocket before the token settlement check was received.
Bottom Line - Progressive is not a company that I would recommend. I will have the vehicle repaired, document the repairs and transfer this vehicle to another company I already have vehicles insured with. All insurance companies are difficult. But once I am dissatisfied, I will no longer give them my business.

I have full coverage with Progressive and never have had any accidents. And I was driving home during a storm. Hit a pothole. Messed my car. I called in the claim. The rep gave me a rental car and said someone would be out to look at it tom. They never came out so I called back three days later and asked her why no one came. She said they had to investigate my claim since my policy was newer. I said fine. Gave them all my info witnesses numbers. She also told me she wasn't supposed to tell me any of this but that's why it took three days because they were already investigating my claim. Also I'd have to return the rental. I still said ok. Went along with everything.
Now they finally send someone out to look at my car. And he tells me that because the bottom of my car has rust that they aren't going to cover it. Because it could have happened eventually because of the rust even though he sees that it was caused by the pothole and even says it's not my fault. I explain that I bought the car about two months ago. Never had a problem with it plus it's inspected. If it passed inspection and is legal to drive on the road and I by law have to have insurance how can they not cover it? Because he thinks it could have happened later so I call back the investigator and all how I fight the claim. He tells me I can't. What they have decided stays.
So after about an half hour of rudeness I tell him "I'll be seeking legal help." He says "that's fine. I'm still going to be investigating though your claim being new on a policy." I tell him "the only reason it's new is because I just got the car." But I tell him "it's fine. I had nothing to hide." Soo day's the day I find out he charged me for the rental car they agreed to pay for even though I wasn't found at fault for anything. How is this right?

I was given a quote, provided documents and a letter requested by Progressive, back in December 2014, for a six-month premium automobile insurance policy. I paid about $528.00 in full for coverage from December 4, 2014 to June 4, 2015. Then, there was a $221.00 bill that was sent to me in February. I was inquiring how this was now added on once my policy was already paid in full up front. Their responses were ridiculous.
They canceled my insurance policy April 4, 2015 and refunded me $1.47. Yes, $1.47. I am SO appalled with this company's deceitful ways of conducting business to squeeze every bit of money out of honest customers. I KNOW for a FACT just in my state that Progressive insures drivers with MULTIPLE DUI's and OUI's. What integrity this company has... or LACKS. I needed to move my Progressive installment pay date, but unlike most major carriers, Progressive doesn't offer installment date choices in California. I was forced to move to an insurance company that would.
It cost me $50 in cancellation fee to change insurance companies. Progressive refused to prorate actual premium coverage costs. If you're considering Progressive and need to pay your premium in installments, make sure that your payment date is something that you can live with because they will not allow changes and moving to another insurance company before the policy term ends will cost you a $50 cancellation fee. A week later, I was informed by Progressive that they have not been able to contact their client and need to reach her to get her side of the story.
Three months later, after many calls and many complaints with the agent and his superiors, I was told by Progressive that due to their inability to reach their client by mail, phone, or "social media", they are cancelling her claim and in effect would render my claim default and I get no compensation. It is my belief that Progressive's failure to reach their client is not, nor should it be of any concern of mine. Their client willfully and intentionally avoided them and now I am left without a rear bumper which is a big financial burden to replace. It is Progressive's matter of concern as they are in the business of risk and risk assessment and it was their client that caused this accident and must pay for it.

I have never had an at fault accident in my 21 years of driving. Desperate for discounts I signed up for the Snapshot program. This is the worst idea ever. The program itself isn't bad but the penalty for hard braking is ridiculous. 7 MPH/SECOND is ridiculous to stay above. You basically have to coast, you can barely hit your brakes. The only way to avoid hard braking is to run yellow lights and stop signs, or driving below 25 mph.
I am really disgusted with this device. Every time the radio beeps I assume it is the device chastising me. The hard braking rule is retarded and unattainable unless you want to drive like you're 80 until someone gets road rage and runs you off the road. Be warned it is a ridiculous program. Progressive expects you to pay for insurance but if you use it they penalize you for it. The comprehensive claim was a deer running into my car. Yes I wanted it fixed, that's what I pay insurance for. I'm very disgusted and am switching companies because I feel like they are advantageous and they lie. The speeding ticket didn't give me outrageous rates with Geico - in fact I got a lot better coverage for 100 dollars less than Progressive could offer me. That's what I get for using the insurance I paid for, for 6 years.

So, when we bought a farm, we let Progressive know that we would need to change the policy, and they said it was all fine. Money changed hands, we officially owned the farm, and Progressive told us it was insured. I'm disgusted that the only reason I found out they were planning to cancel the policy is that I got a letter saying if we didn't sign and send back this additional form, the policy would be cancelled in 10 days time. The letter was dated April 24, I received it in the mail on May 7.
My husband called, and that's how we found out that they were planning to cancel the policy regardless of any action we took. They had a few "reasons," none that really made much sense, but the worst was the chicken coop. According to Progressive, they cannot insure any farm property that has animals. Although we don't yet have chickens, we were told we would need to "remove the chicken coop as it presented a risk that we may be tempted to have chickens." If we have a single chicken on our rural farm property, it renders our farm insurance void. Their suggested solution was to get quotes from other companies. We have, and we will be canceling all our business with Progressive shortly.

As soon as I hit the snowbank my adaptive headlight function immediately quit working and the halo as well. I processed a claim with progressive and set up an appointment to get the car fixed. The adjuster told me they would replace the entire headlight because of the damage. Note the light costs 2200 and is no easy expense to me. Upon tear down of my vehicle the tech noticed that the halo cover had a pinhole in it and was assumed that the problem was my fault and the adjuster called me and wanted to tell me that he wouldn't take care of the headlight upon noticing this.
However, how is it possible for these lights to work with no moisture problems and no issues for four months and then literally the day I hit something it starts leaking but that all must be my fault. I was so frustrated I wasn't thinking. I should have come up to the shop and looked myself being a tech myself and verified the quote on quote issue. But regardless I told the shop to put the car back together and I would pick it up. When I went to pick the car up I asked for an estimate, there was none. I then started my car and the headlight that was lighting up when I took the car there was not working and underneath the splash guard for the headlight was missing and the headlight cover was broken and floating around in there.

Once reports came back that the brakes were worn more than they should, they simply denied the claim.
The vehicle was serviced on regular basis and I have a report from qualified mechanic stating that brakes were still serviceable. I've never had any issues with Progressive. I've been using them for car and homeowners insurance since 2007. I've had several claims on both policies and each claim was handled quickly and politely. Every time I call, the customer service staff is friendly and helpful. I'm surprised to see so many negative reviews given my consistently excellent experience with Progressive. Every large company has some issues just due to number of people involved but if you're friendly and polite, you'll get it in return.

It doesn't want you to drive over 30 miles per day, you should drive under 60 mph (the speed limit is 70 where I live.) Don't drive after 10pm & don't drive during rush hour. Not worth the BS! DON'T DO IT!

My son purchased a new car a couple of years ago. He went through Progressive to get insurance. He told them that he was getting a new car and needed insurance. He had an accident a couple of months ago and tried to get them to fix the car. They claim that he only had liability on the car and refuse to fix the car. We are trying to get a copy of the policy. He is now without a car and a job. I am trying to help him get this resolved because I do not believe that a car agency would sell a car to someone without full coverage on it, especially a new car. Someone is not taking responsibility and I believe that it is Progressive. I would not recommend them as an insurance agency. I will keep you posted on future developments.

The absolute worst! I was in a car accident. The car was drivable. I was told I had to bring my car to one of their auto body shops to get an estimate of damage and I had the option of getting the work done at one of their shops or go elsewhere. A the estimate and a check was cut for USED PARTS! Not to mention they increased my policy monthly payments by 50.00 and had absolutely no explanation why! So I had to increase my deductible from 0- 1,000. I was able to get my car repaired.
During the repair I rented a car from enterprise. According to my policy it reads $40 a day for 30 days up to $1,200. While at enterprise I was offered a Rav-4 with a 6.00 difference. I said why not?! IM COVERED UP $1,200. Lo and behold my $350 deposit from enterprise was NOT refunded. Progressive only covered up to $600. When my policy reads up to $1,200! By far the worse! Do not get progressive! I am beyond livid! They get no stars!! I had to choose 1 star to submit!

This company does things with evil intent. In 2010 I got hurt badly, the guy had no insurance. We notified progressive on time. We had to go to court against the tortfeasor. I won a judgement against the tortfeasor. We gave them proof that the tortfeasor had no insurance which triggered my UM/UIM. All this time no investigation, no depositions. The driver whose car I was into did not have insurance, but her insurance said that at the time of accident she was covered so they tendered their share, and progressive told us that they could not pay until Dairyland paid their share. Right after we got that settlement we presented progressive with that and the judgement against the tortfeasor. At this point i received a lot of treatment for my shoulder, i was told that i would need a replacement right away. I was 38 years old.
We try to negotiate with them but they refused. Their adjusters never showed up to meetings that agreed to. At some point they sent an investigator to the woman whose insurance paid a portion of my UM/UIM. Even that investigator questioned their motives, because if dairyland paid why was he there to investigate something that was already settled. In Connecticut the law says that you cannot file anything against your own insurance until you are done with all other companies and that there are no other insurances out there. The point is progressive told us to deal with the other company first and then they would pay their part. That was the worst decision, believing these crooks.
One of the adjusters called and told me that they will pay me if i get rid of my attorney, so I did. Two days later i received a letter stating that the statute of limitations had expired, therefore they were not responsible for anything and that if i have a problem i would need to call insurance commissioner and their department. So i rehire my attorney, then he filed the lawsuit. Since the lawsuit was filed they are using everything in order to stall. As usual they hire this law firm Deluca to fight us every step of the way. When i am suffering, my shoulder is no good. I am still in a lot of pain. I will have to go back and redo this replacement. I can't even buy my daughter lunch at school. I can't reach for a coffee at dunkin donuts. There are a lot of things that have change in my life because of this company. They are doing it on purpose. Even their own representative ** thought this was wrong.
This is a breach of contract and they have been doing it to a lot of people. In the process families are being destroyed. They have destroyed me in so many ways. Now in their last motion they are saying that i was not covered and they compare me to a dog, but i was less valuable than the dog because they said that they would pay a thousand dollars for the dog. This is not right nor fair so I am asking for help. They love to take my money, plus they had to reimburse me for so many months because after the car was gone, they were still charging me. It was a fight to get some of that money back. Now i am hurt and i had coverage but i have to suffer. I can't pay my copays. I have to pick and choose which medicine is more appropriate, all this is cause by progressive insurance.
Updated on 09/15/2015:
Today is one day that I will never forget. Well, back in April I wrote a story about Progressive Insurance breach of contract. I took the advice of my attorney and agreed to sit into a mediation. This is one of those things that you are out of words. Bottom line is that Progressive Insurance is playing a game with my life and my future. They came there to save face and to learn things about the case in order to screw me. First we were never introduced, I was told to sit in a room for a few hours. My attorney disappeared for a while and then he came back with the mediator. I heard one thing today, whatever they offer me would be the only offer. Well people lets see, I have a 100/300 policy, I have a shoulder replacement plus about $125000 in medical bills and the offer was low. After five years of suffering, this company is still using tactics that are considered bad faith and there was no explanation for their offer.
They throw everything at me, special defenses, motion to strike and the last one is a motion for summary judgement claiming that there is a statute of limitations. Well let's see, they got a letter for arbitration, they got the information on the other insurance, they never investigate, they refused to answer discoveries and interrogatories, they never had a deposition in the case, really, all was done step by step and on time. The last thing the adjuster did was that she asked settle the case with me so I tried that, then that same investigator wrote me a letter stating that we can't settle this case because of the statute of limitations. My attorney had meetings with her and she did not show up.
Well today I was told about everything that is wrong with my case and that the middle man was trying to put some money in my pocket. They are refusing to pay the claim, they failed to deny my claim within the reasonable time and they start using the words barred by the statute of limitations. They have done so many things in order to hurt my case. Their adjuster told me to fire my attorney then the case would be settled, she turned around and wrote a letter stating that they had no obligations to pay because of time.
The motion for summary judgement is pending, suddenly they wanted to try mediation. This was a way to put a hold on the case and to find out if I was serious about moving the case forward. I have been dealing with this stress for a long time, every time I hear something about this case I get so stressed out, the anxiety it brings is hurting me, my family and friends, I have to suffer because of PROGRESSIVE INSURANCE.
Today I noticed everyone I saw did not have much to say because, they know what happened, my face says it all. I don't have the strength to participate in any sports activities, I can't even make a layup with my left hand, I love volleyball and I was great at it, sometimes I want to set the ball but I can't. I can't have fun with my kids, I promised my daughter that I would teach her how to play volleyball, since I was great at it. I can't do that now, the limitations I have with this new shoulder has a lot to do with this and it's painful.
People this is no joke, dealing with these issues is serious, at times you feel that no one is listening and care. Progressive refused to make an offer, this could have been over a long time ago. This is five years and there was a time that a settlement was reachable. They chose to fight me instead, they lowball me, they are using every dirty tricks in the book and once I am defeated, I will take whatever they throw at me.
This could be you, remember that. We pay insurances to have our backs. Why they are getting richer by the minute and the more coverage they deny, it's billions of dollars in profit. People, remember it is mandatory that we carry insurance, so it should be the same way with Progressive and all other insurance companies. Tonight, I will be thinking about this and not knowing what they will do, scares me a lot. I am in pain and the cold is not friendly. Progressive: it's time you do the right thing. This is why people should get familiar with their civic duties because only in a courtroom you will get a chance to right the wrong and apply the law. Thank you very much.

Hi, I parked my car (Geico insured) in Jan 2015 in my home parking lot. One lady hit my car (progressive insured) when I am not in my car. We exchanged the Insurance details and completed all the body work it has to do. The review I give for body work performed by Progressive was "OK, good." Here comes the real problem. I was asking the Diminish Value Claim for my car which they were telling they are telling Progressive can't give any money of it since 2-3 reasons as below: "Your car has no diminished value as of today." How can Progressive tell that there is no money loss for my car? It had an accident which I am not at fault. Definitely there will be money loss. “It had accident before.” I am 100% sure that there was no accident and I said I will show proof (Carfax, Autocheck) that there were no accidents. Even I asked them for their proof. They say it's confidential.

I am currently trying to contact someone in the corporate office. I am being forced to make two claims on my car insurance, they wanted 3 separate claims at first. I reported a claim on January 27, 2015. I went to the store and parked my van in the parking lot, when I came out of the store my car was damaged - there was damage to the front bumper, the windshield, and the passenger door, so I reported the claim. I dropped my van off at the shop so the insurance adjuster could look at it. When he called me back he told me that there was no way the damage was done at the same time because of where the damage was done on the van. I told him that there was no damage prior to me going in the store, he said well there's no way he could cover it under one claim. I needed to report two more claims - one for each damage on the van.
I told him it did happen at the same time and there was no way I was making another claim. He said, "Well I don't know what to tell you but I am not covering this under one claim." So they forced me to make a second claim that was the only way to get my van fixed. They have been treating me like crap, I even talked with his supervisor and he said the same thing. Every time I call to talk to someone higher up in the company they transfer me to the same people and I get the same treatment.
I have been with Progressive for over three years and never missed one payment and this is how I get treated. I would like someone from corporate to contact me please - I am getting nowhere with the people I keep talking with. They have me very stressed out. I threatened to leave Progressive when the contract was up and he said No need to wait basically telling me they could care less!!! Not sure how the damage happened, Plows in the lot or vandalism but either way they called me a liar as well. Not very happy at the moment with them!!!

Progressive Insurance did not care about maintaining their level of service and values. I was a customer of Progressive for a little over 3 years. When I first sign up with Progressive Insurance, they gave me quotes but they did not tell me that I will have to pay for every renewal fees. I thought that was strange but continue making my payments. After being with Progressive soup for 3 years and had maintain a clean driving record, they still couldn't give me a better rate. I found another insurance which of course offer me a better rate, told me upfront of hidden cost which are none. In this case, Progressive failed to disclosure hidden costs with me - renewal fees, $50.00 cancellation fee.
When I question about the cancellation fee, the supervisor told me it's mobile cancellation fees, "Did you read it? Underneath policy...fine line." Really? But even mobile has a 2 years agreement for early termination fee. In which Progressive case, it didn't matter how long you've been with them, you will be charge anyways. Last fall I got pinched with a bogus ticket for a turn. I tried to contest it, but well, California. So now it's on my driving record. ONE ticket for a turn - no speeding - no accidents - no prior tickets. Progressive raises my 6 month premium by $200. In December of 2014, my wife was parked at our daughter’s bus stop. A neighbor parked his car right on top of my wife's bumper, blocking her in. When she tried to leave, she put her car in reverse and took her foot off the brake, which caused her car to roll approximately 9 inches into the man's bumper. Both parties checked their vehicles and agreed there was no damage. Well unfortunately for us, that's where our nightmare began!! The man decided that he wanted to exchange papers "just in case his bumper is misplaced" (clearly a scam in the making, but my wife was too naive to take photos!!) What do you know, two days later her phone rings, and it’s the scammer’s insurance company! After telling the agent what had happened, the agent then proceeded to basically tell my wife in so many words that this man has 2 other claims like this on his record!!
My wife contacted Progressive and informed them of the bogus claim and stated that she would like to be present when the adjuster looked at his car. Well 2 months later we get a "surcharge notice" in the mail. Progressive went ahead and paid the claim without even speaking to my wife!! My wife called the Progressive claims rep, and was told that they paid the claim in the amount of $1700. My wife asked the rep why she didn't contact her when she went to look at the other party’s car. She stated that she never saw his car, so my wife asks "well what did the photos show then, which was met with, "I didn't see any photos!!” Ok, we are confused!!! How did you determine that there was in fact damage, and how did you arrive at the total??
The claims rep stated that she paid the claim based on a claim submitted to her by Commerce insurance. "There was no need to see the car, they are a very respected insurance company.” HUH!!! SAY WHAT??! So basically any insurance company can submit a damage claim to Progressive without an adjuster seeing the damage in person or by photo?? Excuse me, but what the hell kind of business practice is that?? Why do we pay you, aren't you supposed to advocate for us?? After several phone calls/arguments with the losers in the Progressive claims department, we finally admitted defeat!!
Here's the next bag job they dropped on us!!! My wife had a perfect driving record before the incident, and actually received safe driver discounts on her policy. Well lo and behold, one minor accident, which wasn't even on the road, caused our monthly insurance payment to go from $210 to $426 per month!! CALL THE POLICE, WE ARE BEING ROBBED!! So on the phone we go with Progressive's ever so rude policy department!!! In Mass a minor accident is assessed 3 points, but we were informed by yet another ignorant Progressive customer service rep, that she would be assessed 5 points!! We were told that Progressive has their own points system! So get this, a driver with a perfect driving record that bumps another driver's vehicle in a parking space, causing her first, very minor accident in 20 years, is expected to pay $4992 per year for car insurance by Progressive!!
Is this America or Siberia?? How does our government allow such a big corporation to get away with this crap?? SEE YA YOU PRICE GOUGING LOSERS!! I was hit from behind, pushed up over a curb and into the street. The other guy gave me false info. The claims rep told me if I wanted my car fixed I had to get a hold of the information myself. So I spent 3 weeks making phone calls while my car sat in the snow. They are now telling me due to rust they will not fix the $1100 worth of damage to my tire. This is after me having to pay $250 because the other guy was uninsured. I have gone 38 days without my car due to all of this. I will be switching insurance as soon as possible.

I was struck by a motorist who was insured by Progressive. When the incident happened, the driver was driving a rental vehicle. Now the Chatman Rental and Progressive are going back and forth, for who will pay for it. I'm still not taken care of, it has been 2 weeks. I'm a full time college student trying to work part time. I haven't been able to work for 2 weeks. Progressive process is very slow and they do not want to give me an approximate date of when my I will receive my check so I can purchase another vehicle. My claim agent does not return calls, it took them a whole week to come and check the car to see if it was going to be fix or totaled. It's very frustrated and I wish I could afford a lawyer and sue them and make them pay days that I miss work.

Got rear ended by a Progressive insured driver. Progressive totaled vehicle out unexpectedly (frame was not bent, adjuster just gave a ridiculously overpriced quote to fix it so he could be lazy and make the process easier for him), was told to turn my rental car in the VERY next day (keep in mind, my car was already totaled, sitting at the body shop with the trunk completely smashed in and the front bumper which only had 2 small cracks on it from the wreck, completely pulled off and sitting in the trunk) so I had no transportation to and from my full time job. The ONLY nice thing that the adjuster did for me was let me keep the car for one more day due to the fact that I wouldn't let him hear the end of it when I found out I had absolutely no transportation options.
Luckily my dad was going out of town for a few days and let me borrow his truck, but what I didn't know is that when I first got the rental car, I went ahead and put it on my insurance because Progressive couldn't send any information into Enterprise until after they looked at my car (which also took almost 5 days for him to go out to look at it) and I have a renter's insurance option with my insurance provider as well. The adjuster was supposed to call and switch the rental over into Progressive's hands and take it off of mine, but he did not and told me that I had to do it. So I had to take off work, go all the way to Enterprise, wait almost 30 mins since it was pretty packed and found out that it was not my responsibility to change it over and if I didn't change it over/or the adjuster calling to change it over that it would've still been under my insurance and I could've kept it longer without stressing out to find a new car. Hmmm.
When the adjuster called to tell me that my car was totaled (which was also 3 days overdue) I gave him my dad's information so he could call him and just GIVE him the details of the claim because I just started a new job and it was my first day. He talked to my dad that night, told him the value they were willing to pay and tried to settle with him, which my dad then told him that he could not settle because he is not the owner of the car and that he would give the info to me and I would contact him back. Well I contacted him back and told that he needs to contact my bank where my car is financed through to get my pay off.
When I told him what my payoff was, he was surprised because he thought my dad told him my payoff was way less than what it actually was, again my dad is not the owner of the car, he has no access to my account where the car is financed, so therefore my dad did not tell him any kind of numbers on my car. He lied, then took 3 weeks to get in touch with my bank, which I still had no car because my bank couldn't refinance me until Progressive paid off my car. Spent countless hours at the bank just to be told that.
So about two weeks ago, the adjuster called me and told me to go to a local branch to sign some papers, DID NOT mention what kind of papers, so I drove all the way there just I find out that he was trying to trick me into signing Power of Attorney papers without even knowing my pay off. After the office assistant tried to reach him for maybe about an hour, she finally came back with the faxed over pay off info from my bank and told me they're shorting $2100 of my pay off. I told her I couldn't accept and left.
The responsible driver for the wreck is a close friend of mine. I'm not mad at him because I understand accidents happen especially in heavy traffic where there are actual bad drivers present, but the adjuster has told him 30000 different stories about how I'm getting 'taken care of' and what not. I have not responded back to the adjuster because I have underwent surgery recently and just not in the mode to hear him lie to me again. He has sent a letter to my house in the meantime saying that he is going to start taking out money out of my settlement check for 'storage fees'. Like I said, my car is totaled, the body shop has my keys and is not going to give me my car to take so I can 'STORE' it somewhere else. The threat let alone falls under bad faith claims. I could easily get an attorney and sue them for more than what I actually need to pay off my car and also with the lying and not returning my phone calls for days at a time.
After I threatened him with the 'sue' word, he called me and my friend back the next day, talked to him first, which I was present and said 'We're going to get her taken care of. If she doesn't agree with what we have decided to pay her then we will allow her to pitch us a number and work something out with her to get her closer to her pay off.' THEN turns around and calls me and leaves a voice mail threatening again about the storage fees and then saying that if I am unhappy about the settlement offer then I should turn the claim into my insurance company and have them pay it off.
It wasn't my fault, it's not my insurance's responsibility to do anything and a few years ago I was in a previous wreck where the faulted driver lied to cover her own self and said it was my fault, so it was her word against mine until proven it was her fault months later. My insurance company went ahead and paid my car off down to every penny even though the Kelley Blue Book 'value' was different than the amount left financed.
I am now having after wreck injury symptoms so I'm having to go to the hospital to get checked out. I'm sure the adjuster will ** around with me then too and if he does I will just get a personal injury lawyer and sue them for way more than what it's worth. I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND Progressive. Their customer service doesn't care, their adjusters don't care, their managers don't call you back or care. All they care about is Flo and their stupid, childish commercials.Obviously you get what you pay for and my friend is dropping them when it's all over. Do yourself a favor, if you get in a wreck with a Progressive insured driver, go ahead and hire an attorney because you're going to be doing the adjuster's job and super stressed at the end.

Their covered driver made an illegal U-turn, was cited as the cause of the accident by police, and Progressive now wants US to pay for 20% of the damage to our car. They set themselves up as judge, jury and executioner. They stated we were partially to blame for traveling the speed limit and did not stop soon enough. The person who caused the accident admitted they performed an illegal U-turn (posted sign), pulled out in front of our car and then froze, seconds before the impact. What nerve to state we were at fault before they saw the cars, had the facts, and they refuse to pay their statutory obligation. They are a disgusting group of individuals who appear to go out of their way to cheat the public at large. We intend to sue them if they fail to cover 100% of the damages. I was rear-ended by an uninsured driver totaling my car and causing me major medical problems. I was stopped in traffic and there were plenty of witnesses. It was 10:00 AM and I could see this idiot coming in my rear view mirror. He had his eyes closed and was kissing his girlfriend while driving about (police estimate) 60 miles an hour in a 35 mph zone.
He had no license and no insurance and was driving a borrowed pick-up truck with no insurance! When I called my agent to report the accident she told me that I would have to pay all the expenses despite my having full coverage or they would have to raise my rate! And raise my rate they did... to $4,000 a year for two 40ish drivers with spotless records who owned their home with no mortgage! I had to sue Progressive to get them to pay a single penny and lower my insurance rates back where they were! I had paid these ** year after year and never had a claim!
It took my attorney 6 years to get an arbitrated settlement which was half what it should have been! Years later I still suffer from the injuries sustained in that accident. I rented a car for about 6 weeks and despite the fact I had rental coverage Progressive refused to pay for my cheapo rental and never gave me a reason!
The arbitrator asked me how about my pain and later told me that I should not have said it was 10 times worse or 100% worse and never to use numbers when asked how much worse your pain is! If you had no pain prior to the accident would it not be 100% worse? If you are ever in an accident remember not to use numbers when describing your pain to an arbitrator!

Since I had no experience in dealing with the insurance company or for any claim, my friends and family advised me to work with a private insurance adjuster to have the claim processed. My private insurance adjuster has been working with the Progressive Insurance Company adjuster since February 2014. I have provided all the proofs pictures, energy bills multiple times. Have also been interviewed and had to provide a recorded statement to the adjuster from the insurance company and yet the claim has not been approved. It has been over a year now and I am still waiting for the claim to be approved.
From what I have learned from the private insurance adjuster that I have hired is that the adjuster from the Insurance company agrees that the claim should be paid but the manager is holding on and the manager keeps asking for the same documents over and over again. When the private insurance adjuster I hired informed them that we will now file a complaint against them since it is being stalled for no reason, the adjuster from the insurance company asked to wait for 2 more weeks. It has been over a month and yet they have not gotten back. I am out of the house for more than a year now and extremely frustrated with them. I am covered by Progressive for Roadside Service. Never again. I got out of class at 2:30 p.m. and noticed I had a flat tire. I ease in a parking garage but had to drive the car out because of continued fees (they did not care my tire was flat). Good thing I did because a tow truck did not come until 7:30 p.m. So for about 5 hours I sat in my car in 14 below zero weather. But first before the tow truck, they send over two guys from some company who showed up in their personal car. (I was told they were going to use my phone to pinpoint my location.) They were lost for almost 2 hours. Then when the guy approach me, I could smell weed all over him and could tell he was high. He supposedly attempted to take the tire off but told me the lug was stripped and had to be burned off. They drove off leaving spare tire and jack laying in the snow.
3 hours later a tow truck comes and the guy is screaming at me saying it's cold and he is not waiting around because the jack was under my car where someone was trying to help me. I'm a woman that had no idea how to change the tire. I tried explaining I was desperate and cold. It was now dark. He called his office and the secretary wanted to speak to me. She is telling me her guy is there to tow my car not fix my tire. I told her I did not ask him to fix the tire because I was told the tire could not come off. She then says, "Well if you tip him he will fix it." So the service I am covered under, charges me $25.00 to fix my tire (which by the way came off in a zip).

The prior employee had it right, they tell you that you are their top concern but then when you file a claim you really are treated like a felon, even if the accident wasn't your fault. I was paying over 200 every month for a full coverage plan but I had bought a different car and assumed that I had the standard 30 days to switch over my policy. Well I had had the car for less than a week before some stupid kid ran a stop sign and caused a multiple car accident. Of course I wasn't at fault and Progressive would not have been monetarily responsible in any way for my claim, in fact I was happy with what the guy's company offered. However one day after I filed the claim an agent called me and told me that they needed to take a recorded statement.
During that time they asked me how long I had had the vehicle and if I had a bill of sale. I told them that I did have a bill of sale and explained that I had had the car about a week. They said everything was fine but I would need to turn in my bill of sale. I turned it and thought everything was fine. A few months later I got a letter in the mail saying that my licence would be suspended for a year for not having insurance. I thought this was just a mistake so I called them to clear everything up. They told me that what I sent them was just a hand written receipt and not a bill of sale so they do not have to extend me coverage.
I called the dmv and they were highly sympathetic saying that even they will accept a hand written bill of sale but that it would really tough to fight such a big company. I was a single mom at the time and not having my license cost me about half of my income as a big part of my job was going to trade shows. Plus I had to pay a huge fine, reinstatement fee, take a hit on my license and carry an S-R-22 for the next 3 years. I didn't even do anything wrong. I paid my bill like I'm supposed to and yet I have this awful thing on my record and no way to fight it. I absolutely HATE this company and would recommend that everyone stay FAR FAR AWAY.

I was recently rear-ended by another driver and the force of the impact pushed me about 10-15 feet forward into an SUV. It wound up being a four-car accident but no one was seriously injured, thankfully. I had my car towed to my dealership's body shop and filed a claim with Progressive (both my insurance company at the time and the driver who hit me).
About a week later, I get a call from the body shop letting me know that they are moving forward with the repair and gave me an ETA. A few days after that, I got another call from the body shop and the adjuster, stating that they had decided to declare the car a total loss. When I called the adjuster to find out what had changed, she explained that the costs of the repairs were going to exceed the threshold of their formula so they opted to declare a total loss.
This is where it gets really frustrating. Their formula used an amount $2,000-2,300 less than Kelley Blue Book and NADA evaluations for my car. Using that low number caused the threshold to be exceeded by ~ $300. Had they used a fair valuation instead, the amount would have been under the limit and they would have repaired my car.
I showed them the KBB and NADA valuations and they dismissed them stating that they didn't use those services. I then showed them that the cars and websites that they referenced on their valuation report didn't exist so I was unable to verify that those vehicles had the same options as my car. The answer was the same every time, 'we feel that we have given you a fair evaluation of your vehicle.' They refused to increase their settlement offer so I've hired an appraisal service and am forcing them into the mediation process.
A couple of points to consider: This accident was not my fault - a fact that the insurance company agrees with completely. At the time of the accident, my annual premiums paid to Progressive were over $5,000 for my household (three cars). Despite those facts, they refuse to provide me with a fair settlement and now I have to fight them tooth and nail. I have no car and no settlement. Needless to say I am no longer a Progressive customer and I'll never make that mistake again. If you are considering them as your insurance provider, keep looking.

The new bill included a car that I felt I had deleted in September but they said was not deleted until early November but prior to the coverage I had just paid for. I deleted it again on-line and complained to a rep on the phone. I complained again on-line and was told that I owed an additional $115 for partial coverage for the car and because our credit insurance rating had slipped. CreditKarma states our rating to be 799 coincidentally the same as the first bill. Increasing the $$$ for coverage after the fact and having a non-functioning website has us on the hunt for a competent, fair company.

The Progressive representative that handled the claim this morning is refusing to include the full damage to my vehicle that was caused by the accident, stating "it just doesn't make sense to me" and "it was probably someone that hit you in a parking lot" - her words, verbatim. I want to state the representative also, did not even take the time to properly assess the damage, overlooking the paint marks from the car that impacted my front left rim. There was a spotty wipe down of my car as well - the scuff marks/scratches weren't fully visible. If you are not aware, the roads in the northeast are covered in salt and sand to prevent black ice, therefore my car is covered in a white film.
I refuse to believe that this is the type of work Progressive applauds. I also DO NOT appreciate being called a liar nor do I appreciate my time being wasted. This is unfair treatment to a loyal customer of yours.

On 2/6/15 my truck was towed from Enfield, CT on the highway to a garage in Hartford, CT. The next day I called roadside assistance because I had to move the truck to another garage. My first call to Progressive for roadside assistance was at 4:06. My next call was at 5:45 because I had not received a text or call informing me of a tow truck ETA. I was informed that my initial call was not in the system. So now another order is placed for a tow. The tow man calls me at 6:30 to tell me he is 10 minutes away which actually turns out to be 7:00 pm. He arrives with a flatbed and tells me that I have no tow kit and that he will not tow my truck without it. He wanted to know how did my truck get towed the night before without the tow kit. That's another issue.
I make another call to roadside assistance, make a complaint about the tow the night before and the awful service. Another tow truck is scheduled to arrive by 8:44 pm. The tow man call at 8:53 pm and says he is in Wallingford and will arrive in 20-25 minutes. I call back RA at 9:20 pm to get them to do their job. RA calls the tow truck driver company and gets the run around and orders another tow truck to come out. This truck had not arrived by 9:40 pm so I cancelled because both garage was closing. I get a call at 9:55 pm from another driver who is on his way from Manchester. I had to tell him I cancelled the order. This was unbelievably the worst experience EVER. Progressive Insurance JIRO seem to use the smallest and inefficient tow truck companies for their personal gain. This would not have happened if I had AAA. I pray I never have to use JIRO again.

Progressive insurance fail... My son was driving his car on a 2 lane road and a lady pulled into the road and side swiped or ran into him. The police arrived. The lady claimed it was my son's fault and requested an ambulance due to pain. The police officer went to her cruiser and was able to review the accident on a traffic camera clearly indicating that my son was not at fault. The lady was sited for being at fault and ticketed. If she was at fault wouldn't you think at fault is at fault?
The ambulance arrived and suddenly she felt better and declined the ambulances services. Would you be able to place a percentage on how much at fault she is? I didn't even consider the idea of a percentage factor when determining fault. What if someone was to commit a crime? Could it be argued that it could be 20% the stores fault for having money on the premises thus not being 100% the burglar’s fault even though they broke in and committed the crime? What if you were driving along and someone pulled out and hit you? The police cited/ticketed the other driver claiming you were NOT at fault. The persons insurance company (Progressive) that hit you said that the accident was at least 30% your fault just because you were "there? "
Progressive spoke to the responding officer verifying that the accident was not my son's fault. Progressive even requested a copy of the traffic cam video clearly showing my son driving in his lane and being struck by the other driver... What would you do? I'm baffled how it's even a possibility?? Why have insurance? I know I won't ever have progressive and EVERYONE I encounter will know how they take care of the claims of their insured. Even better now my son is having complications with his back, can't get a rental car due to his age (19) and has missed 2 weeks of college due to no car and there appears to be no solution in sight. I feel sorry for Flo. She represents such a corrupt company that only cares about their bottom line.

What I don't get is...I have been a great customer of Progressive (no accidents or tickets) for years and State Farm (who doesn't know me from a hole in the ground) can offer me a premium of $37.00 per month cheaper. By the way, I did not switch companies in November because I hated to switch from Progressive since I had such a long term relationship with them; however, my premium due this month (February 2015) is $146.00. I have been with Progressive since June 2009 and now when my policy was set to renew Feb 2015 I noticed my price went UP each month by $25. I called and was told this was due to my credit. I spoke with the credit department and was told that I had 2 inquiries on credit in Dec 2014 and 2 in July 2014. I asked what this has to do with my insurance and was told that "statistics show you are more likely to file a claim when you have had recent credit inquiries". I told the guy that was ridiculous because my credit has NOTHING to do with my driving ability. I have NEVER filed a claim with them nor have I had a ticket or accident for well over 10 years. There was nothing they could do so I left them for another company. Progressive is a LOAD OF CRAP for raising price due to credit inquiries which it should be based primarily on my driving not my credit! RUN WHILE YOU CAN!!!!!!!!

I was leaving a parking lot the other day. I was turning right and another lady turning left next to me. She failed to stop completely and ended up with her nose of her car out in the road. So without looking at her rear view mirror to see my car, she proceeded to back up straight into the side of my right where my gas tank is and hit me. She's insured by Progressive.
Long story short, I took my car to Progressive to have it inspected and they said based on the damage to her car which was a little paint off her bumper and the dent in the side of my car, that I was 100 percent liable and they were not going to pay a thing, and said I was responsible and that I actually hit her car even though I have a huge dent in the side of my car with her paint. All I can say is you better hope you don't get hit by somebody insured by Progressive because they are not willing to pay any claim to anybody, and from what I hear also the same goes for their customers. They are all about their money and not about taking care of their people or taking care of people their clients hits. Worst insurance company out there. I'm surprised they aren't shut down by now.

I do not have Progressive Insurance, but I was rear-ended at a stop light at a high rate of speed by a young lady covered by Progressive. From the very beginning, Progressive was slow to respond to me, refusing to repair my vehicle because they "Unfortunately just couldn't get a hold of their client by telephone". For 6 weeks I drove a very damaged & misaligned vehicle with airbag warnings blinking. It was not until I informed Progressive that I had spoken with my lawyer that they suddenly happily offered me a rental car and an appointment with a repair shop. My car was repaired, however, I have a small bill for x-rays & chiropractic care for whiplash. I began getting the same runaround as before, but this time from a very rude and aggressive Progressive representative. Every time she contacted me, she used a completely unprofessional, angry, impatient and accusatory tone.
After denying payment in one breath, she then made an offer to settle for a small amount of money in the next breath (coincidentally, once my lawyer's name came up again). I was fine with the small amount, as long as it covered the bill. I requested that she send me that offer in writing before I spoke to her any further over the phone. That simple request sent her into an emotionally-fueled screaming fit about how insulted she was that I didn't "take her word for it". That was just...odd, not to mention highly unprofessional. "The word" of an invisible angry stranger over the phone wouldn't exactly hold up in court later if any misunderstandings arose.
I contacted her supervisor immediately afterward, who seemed uninterested and unconcerned by her behavior. I have since read many reviews of unprofessional and rude Progressive representatives, so obviously customer service and common sense just aren't a priority there, unfortunately. I work in the automotive industry and was told by several body shops that Progressive was one of the worst companies they deal with. I'll certainly spread the word of my experiences to others.

I was involved in an accident with a Progressive driver at around 6:30 pm on Dec.26th, 2014. Driving on Rt.611 S outside of Easton, PA, I come around a sharp curve to see a white vehicle running a stop sign directly in front of me. Hit the brakes and steered hard right to try to avoid him but there was no room and the front driver's side corner of my truck caught his driver's side rear bumper, resulting in both vehicles having to be towed. Cut and dry right?! Not according to Progressive!!
First of all, it was almost 2 weeks before I could even make initial contact with them... I had left messages and called everyday since the accident. Meanwhile, my truck sat in a storage yard at $50 a day! When I finally was able to talk to a claims rep, they were like, "Oh, you should get the truck out of there." I said "well have you sent an estimator out to look at it yet??" NOPE. So I do my part and get the truck towed to my address, an estimator doesn't come out to look at it for ANOTHER SIX DAYS. I was promised (in recording) to be reimbursed for the storage fee up through Jan 6th, which is when I got the truck out of there. Then, the estimator decides my truck is only worth less than HALF of what it actually is, and they somehow decide I am 40% at fault (WHAT?!) for the accident. So even in the measly settlement they are offering me, I will only get 60% of that, including the storage fee! I think not!
Keep in mind the accident report clearly states I had no contributing factor to the accident and was doing the speed limit. Now for the real kicker.... the claims rep tells me there's a "guard rail issue" and it could hold up the claim for 60-90 days (the report says PENNDOT maintenance was not notified) I CALL **. So I decide to get my lawyer involved. She calls them on 1/20/2015 and they don't call her back until 1/28/2015.... conveniently after business hours. So this fight continues....
I have spent HOURS trying to get what is rightfully mine and have never dealt with a ruder, more incompetent bunch of people in my life. I have phone calls into headquarters, left bad reviews on Yelp, on this site, their Facebook page - talked to anyone who would listen, I've been sweet and cooperative, and I've been angry and totally flipped out. NOTHING HELPS. My next step is to report insurance fraud. I'm at my wit's end, but WILL NOT give up. The only thing I know for sure, is I will NEVER carry, recommend, or stop trashing Progressive Insurance, and I hope people can take my advice and experience with them and stay far, far away. Good luck to the person who has an accident with someone who uses Progressive, because they'll need it!!

I bought a car from my friend in November 2014. It was in the shop with overheating issues and was diagnosed with possible blown head gasket. Engine replacement was recommended. It also had a bad wheel bearing. She opted to buy new vehicle rather than repair this one. I paid the mechanic $300 to release the car with fixed wheel bearing and replaced the head gasket myself over the course of a month. Parts, title, and registration and for less than $1000 I had a like new car.
From day one of taking possession I added the car onto progressive liability. I've been a customer since 2008. After the repairs on the vehicle and I determined it was to be my daily driver, I installed some audio equipment using a local install shop. I went home that Sunday evening after the install and while laying in bed thought it’s possible thieves in my south side Chicago neighborhood probably love my new toys as much as I do. I went ahead and changed the policy to collision /comprehensive and paid the balance.
Exactly 4 days later while traveling to my friend's house (the lady who sold me the car), I hit a deer. I was on a dark road at 10 pm in sub freezing temps. The car had some damage that I could see but kept running like nothing so I continued on the 2 miles to her house and pulled in the driveway. The shock of what i saw still sits in my mind. The car was destroyed. Thinking to myself, "What's the point of a police report?" It’s a deer. It didn't even die. It ran away. There are blood and fur everywhere. I’m good.
Call progressive the next morning. File claim. Obviously a red flag. I just changed the policy. I get it. But all my ducks are in a row. They send an adjuster 2 weeks later to view the car. By now the rain and snow have washed away the blood. The car is deemed total loss. Weeks later and after all holidays are finally over, and after submitting pictures and receipts for parts, audio equipment etc. my claim is denied. They need video surveillance of my car from somewhere, showing that between policy date change and claim, my car was intact.
Sounds reasonable had it happened 2 days ago. But since they stalled my claim 2 weeks to inspect, and another 3 to have their vacations and holidays, where am I supposed to find this video surveillance? Who is going to have that archived? Gas station? I don’t use a drive up bank. And if I did Chase is just going to go in the server room and make me a copy of their surveillance video from an almost 2 months ago? I think not.
The investigator made comments pertaining to my relationship to the woman I bought the vehicle from. Asked why I was going to see a woman late at night and if my wife knew. He then called my wife and asked her if she knew I was going to see another woman when I hit a deer. He also flat out said that progressive is having a hard time believing that my car was ever drivable, and that I bought a totaled car and am now fraudulently squeezing then for repair/replacement money.
This whole experience has been frustrating and I will never see a dime. Not a good feeling getting forced by law to get extorted by a company that calls you a liar and doesn't even have to prove it to deny you coverage. Stay far away from these crooks if you know what’s good for you.

I went ahead and faxed it over and all and still had to pay it.
Then now I got a new car and insurance went up but that's not the issue. It's been 12 days and they still haven't got their money out and it said it did. But bank says otherwise and they declined my payment. I believe if I'm going to hold onto their money that long maybe I should charge interest to them. It never showed up in the bank that it even was pending when the money was in there. I wouldn't suggest them to anyone...even someone I didn't like.

I called in the claim that night. They contacted me back the next day to get my repairs started. They gave me the option to go to my own shop of choice or just drop my vehicle off to their Progressive center where they will handle all the work and my rental car will be waiting for me when I arrive. The worst mistake of my life.
I should have taken my vehicle to a shop of my own. After about a week and a half they call me to tell me my vehicle is ready. I do an inspection over the damage side of the vehicle and I can still see paint transfer on my vehicle from the accident. My car is black and the other car was white. They are telling me that it is probably unlikely that the white paint came during the accident and that it's normal wear and tear on the vehicle. So they refuse to fix the area.
I know my vehicle did not have white paint transfer on it before the accident so it happened during the accident or when they took apart my vehicle to do so called repairs. The area is in the same area where the other car struck me. All the pictures they are showing me of my vehicle while in the shop has this one part of the car disassembled already. None of the pictures they have taken has this part on my car. I don't know if this is from the car accident or if they did this while they had my car in the shop. I do know that it was not like this before the accident and getting so called repairs. Worst repair ever. I do not recommend Progressive Insurance. Run for the hills. They are a rip off. When I was 19 years old, I put in my 2 weeks notice at my job. A week and a half later when I was out looking for a job, I was hit head on by an extended cab Silverado while I was making a right at an intersection. The driver of the other vehicle who had a suspended license, driving his girlfriend's truck, under her insurance (Progressive, my insurance too), blew through a stop sign and hit me on my side of the road from the direction I was turning (front passenger side of my car). To demonstrate how far on my side of the road he was, I was very close to the side of the road while turning... (the sun was in his eyes was his excuse). Going into the turn, I changed the song on my radio and when I looked up the Silverado was roughly 10 feet off my bumper seemingly taking up my windshield.
I made the freak out decision, I feel many would, and braced up on the steering wheel and the shifter. I slammed on my brakes in my WRX when I saw him and my nose dove (under braking) so the bottom of his bumper hit right at the bottom of my right headlight, effectively missing the airbag sensor positioned below the headlight, pushing my bumper into my engine. Since I made the mistake of bracing up, I managed to pull EVERY MUSCLE FROM IN BETWEEN MY SHOULDER-BLADES TO THE BOTTOM OF MY BACK. However since it was a 60 mph combined collision, I was in an immense amount of shock and didn't feel a thing yet... My tire marks were 17 feet and 19 feet because he hit me off center.
After I called my father while waiting for the police who then got an ambulance, on 1/3/2012 in Vermont in -1 degree weather + wind-chill, I was sitting in my car, waiting for what seemed a small eternity, hypothermic, in shock, while the guy who hit me was sitting in his running, heated truck... The EMT responded and performed his job to a T, got me to the hospital and they checked me out, offered me pain pills because I might experience some future soreness that I turned down because I thought I was fine (in shock). I went on my blissfully dumb way, they said I might experience some soreness...
So roughly 5 hours post wreck I stepped out of the hospital, the bitter Vermont cold hit me, my back tensed up and started to ache. On the drive home I started to squirm in the seat of my father's car as the shock wore off and the pain really began to set in. That night I cried myself to sleep I was in so much pain, I got 3 hours of sleep. The next night I cried myself to sleep again and got 4 hours, my sleep slowly started to get longer after that night when I started medicating myself with Advil Pm and other aids. I refused to go get pills because one of my buddies' moms is a pill addict and I didn't even want to attempt that, I didn't think I would be in pain that long, and I didn't go back to the hospital for further screening due to parental misguidance and figuring I could tough it out.
My initial call to the insurance company was the usual exchange after the accident. The local claims guy assigned to me started to hound me at my parents for weeks while I was laid up in a 10/10 on the pain scale, to settle for roughly $2200 until I finally freaked out with a nasty volley of words and told him to stop calling, I would call him.
I was a 10/10 in pain for 3 months with my back popping 60-70+ times a day due to muscle imbalances. I would be sitting down and breathe in deeply trying to calm myself and my back would crinkle 7-8 times between my shoulder blades, I would stand up and my lower back would pop multiple times, I would turn to grab something, bend over to grab something and my back would pop multiple times. All the while when my back popped, I would get radiating nerve pain of all sorts intermittently. I couldn't pinpoint movements to stop the nerve damage, but I wanted to scream and pull out my hair but I didn't because I didn't want to scare my family and friends. I was a 7/10 for the roughly next 7 months after the first 3, a 5/10 for roughly the next 6, and my pain subsided to a 3 and comes and goes EVERY DAY, along with the popping and the nerve damage (so-far just over 3 years).
I started taking all kinds of pain pills a few months after and doing all kinds of PT and seeing doctors in attempt to heal my back. All the while Progressive would say bills would be paid etc. and they wouldn't pay them on time citing some BS. They were mostly eventually paid however I still had unpaid bills they wouldn't pay after I settled. My back pain got better, along with the popping but I'm by no means 100% today, maybe 85% from where I was...
Around November 2012 I found myself in need of money for a car, the $2200 I got for equity in my car was all gone after 10 months, who could of guessed. Since I quit my job and was actively seeking a new one, Progressive saw no need to pay lost wages due to the wreck. I settled for $3500, they offered me $5500 (are they kidding themselves?) but I turned them down not realizing that after you settle, you cannot sue. I thought I was going to be able to sue for ALOT more.
When I went to the office to sign the paper to get the check, after they got my signature, the lady behind the desk snatched that paper off the table faster than I expected. I Shot myself in the freaking foot legally and started to realized it right when she snatched that paper. Thankfully I was still covered under my father's insurance so I was able to get some of my PT and other doctors visits covered after I settled. But that $3500 didn't even come close to compensating me for just my time, expenses, let alone pain, and now I cannot even afford PT to fully heal myself.
I've been too busy and depressed paying for sleeping pills and doctors' visits for the insomnia I developed after I stopped taking pain pills. I used Advil PM and Benadryl for a little bit when I was told I didn't need pain pills, or when I was using pills on the bad nights. If I don't take them I'm up for 48 hours till my eyes burn, I'll sleep for 2-3 hours, and be up another 20 and get 4-5 hours of sleep. I haven't pushed it past that.
All of the people of Progressive who did this to me, I think you're horrible people, but it's partially my fault for letting this happen. I typed all this because I would like my story out there, so hopefully I may help someone going through something similar, and to show Progressive, hopefully if they read this, what their greed does to people. My back hurt just bending over the computer to type all of this. The attached photos were taken right after I got off the phone with my father and he instructed me to do so... Just some sound marketing advice, You can't put lipstick on a pig.

I would recommend thinking long and very hard before buying Progressive. The customer service is the worst. After having Progressive for almost 5 years with no problems, I went to pay my bill like I did every month. Always on time. To my surprise I found that I had no insurance. The month before for one reason or another the payment had not got from my bank to Progressive. With no e-mail, no phone call from the agent, no call from Progressive, no Mail of any kind, no notification in any way these people cancel my insurance. They say they care, well I care too and am filling a complaint in every office I can find State and federal. These people take your money and then throw you by the wayside. The worst insurance company I have ever dealt with. Go somewhere else. That stuff with FLO is a joke. They don't care about not one bit.

I have been a progressive customer for 20 years, I moved to another state and dropped 1 car off my policy. My payments went from $115 a month for 2 cars to $148 for one car. I call to complain about the price increase and I am "assured" that this is the price I need to pay. I have never had an accident, no points on my license...no reason for the blatant thievery from them. I did an online quote and get a $100 a month quote from the computer although I can't get this price for my policy after 20 years accident free. I called Allstate and immediately got a policy with the exact same coverage for half as much as I was being raped for from Progressive. Oh yeah and to top it off, when I cancelled my policy with Progressive I get nailed with a mysterious charge of a balance due on my bill. When I cancelled the policy my payments were current and there was 8 days until my bill was due for the next month.... Amazing...

Progressive Auto insurance charged me an overly large amount, 250 plus dollars, for a liability only insurance policy. In turn, when Geico offered me a comparable policy for only 90 dollars, I opted to switch. When I called to cancel my policy, which was the day my next payment was due, I was told the policy would be canceled, and I was not required to take further action. Afterward, I was informed by email that I owed a charge of $68.63 without an explanation, presumably for policy cancellation. Poor service and rates but friendly sales representatives. I am refusing to pay unwarranted charges and have filled a BBB report. My advice is to avoid progressive, and shop around alternative providers.

My vehicle was stolen in October 2014 and was never recovered. I filed a claim with Progressive, who was my insurance carrier at the time. The claims rep was very rude when she called me and made me feel like I was the criminal instead of the victim. They requested all types of documents (bank records, cell records) and had me sign a waiver so they would be able to obtain documents they may need for the investigation.
I submitted the requested documents to them as per their request. They then asked for my cell phone records two more times, which I did provide them with for the dates they requested. I did black out information that did not pertain to the information they requested which had nothing to do with the case. The end result was that they denied my claim. I am currently paying for a vehicle that is not in my possession. Please do not go with this insurance company, they are the worst. I have never ever been treated like a criminal and unfairly the way that they have treated me. I am currently seeking legal action.

I really liked Progressive - they gave me cheaper insurance than anywhere else… UNTIL I bought a new vehicle. What I am EXTREMELY MAD about is we purchased a 2014 Chevy Silverado - the first truck I added was a v8 but we ended up having to take it back, and trading it for a v6. So I went to progressive, and CHANGED THE VEHICLE. THE FIRST truck only changed my insurance about 50-60 a month which was fine but when I put the v6 EXACT SAME TRUCK on there, it made my insurance go up 206! I had paid the payment after adding the FIRST TRUCK that I had for 2 days. The second truck they are saying I NEVER MADE A PAYMENT ON THE INSURANCE (which was only 25 days of having the truck when I called to cancel, because I wasn't paying 506 a month for 3 vehicles on only liability). I got a quote with Geico of 205 a month for all vehicles!! I tried explaining what happened, all they could say is certain vehicles change the policy amount more than others. I was like it was the EXACT SAME TRUCK - why did it change it 200 dollars a month. Well regardless, they scammed me of about 200 bucks.. DO NOT USE THESE CROOKS.

My husband's car was hit by a car who lost control in the snow and fishtailed into the driver's side of his car. He had to be cut out of the vehicle. First we were told that there was a coverage issue and that we needed to go through our insurance. When I pointed out that NYS mandates uninsured motorist coverage, the issue became that there were discrepancies in the details of the accident. I got the police report in 5 minutes and emailed it to them. Then they still had to determine liability, but they told my husband that if he got a rental that they would reduce the amount that they paid for the claim by the cost of the rental. I again emailed them stating that this was totally unacceptable. Within 1/2 hour they called and finally agreed that their client was 100% liable and that they would pay for all of the damages and a rental. If I had not been so persistent, they would have dragged their feet so that we had to use our insurance.

I was insured with Progressive. They withdrew 165.81 from my Wells Fargo account on Dec 03, 2014. They returned it on Dec 04, 2014. I was sent a letter saying coverage would not be continued after Dec 19, 2014 because of no payment. I had an incident where my Harley 05 model fell off the lift Dec 18, 2014. I called to report it after it happened but no answer. That was a Sunday. I called back the next morning Dec 19, 2014, reported it got a claim and got it looked at by their adjuster. Then they refused to pay saying that I didn't pay them. Well I beg to differ, it was paid & then returned back to my account by them, Progressive. I called the claims investigator, they ask to send a email where it was taken out of my account. I did, now they want to talk to my bank. So where do I stand with this? Let me know if I have a case here.

We recently switched to Progressive because it had a slightly cheaper rate. When they sent us the snapshots, we put them in even though I was hesitant about doing it. Not only did the snapshot device start causing my car to have mechanical issues like not starting and killing the battery, it registered a bunch of "hard stops" while I was driving at a steady pace down the highway. Now after I complained to them about the snapshot device, they are telling me I have to pay off my insurance because I was one day late. I shouldn't have to pay $500 just for telling them that their snapshot device is garbage. Do not get Progressive, it's the worst insurance ever.

Previously I had an agent for my Progressive account. WHAT A MISTAKE. In all honesty, I had a bad taste in my mouth for progressive when I worked with my agent but after an attitude issue from the agent concerning a privacy issue, I decided to go direct. The direct policy has been renewed 7 times without ever having an issue but I also never had an accident. I have set up for automatic payments from my bank account and the charges are always taken out on the correct day for the correct amount. I see other people complaining that their automatic withdrawals were incorrect but personally, the website and app are FANTASTIC so there is no reason why you should be ignorant of what is happening with your insurance. I've never had coverage dropped, premium increase, or any other surprises. Customer services has always been fantastic when I needed proof of insurance faxed or updated my lien holder information for my policy.

Progessive screwed up on my insurance. I had insurance with them for 2 years but never again! I was pulled over one day while the cops were doing a seatbelt check...they ran my tags to find out my "tags were suspended" and so was my license! I was arrested and taken to jail and my truck towed...but here's why - I had 2 trucks and 1 car insured through them AT THE SAME TIME (I say this LOUDLY because it is important and comes to bear later). I was having trouble with my work truck and decided to put it out of service until I could get it fixed in the spring and switch over to my other truck to use. So naturally, I didn't want to pay insurance for several months on a truck I was not using, so I cancelled the insurance (still paying for the use of my other truck and my wife's car).
Progressive, in all its usual incompetence reported to the DMV that I had dropped my insurance, but failed to report that the insurance was good on my other cars. The GA DMV (who, let's face it, can't get anything right either) didn't bother to check and see how many other cars I might have, took the word of Progressive and suspended my license based on the fact that it is illegal to drive without insurance, and some time after during that routine stop, I was arrested! By the time I got to jail, I was able to get the cops to run a check and see that my other 2 cars did in fact have insurance and that I was NOT driving the one I had dropped the insurance on. So they released me, but I still had to pay a $50 tow bill to retrieve my truck. Progressive was very sorry but would not refund me my losses. BE VERY CAREFUL -THIS COULD BE YOU!

We have had Progressive insurance for several years without issue, now they are raising our premiums by nearly 50%. We have had no tickets, claims, accidents nothing in years. They say it's because our credit was checked several times? We refinanced our home to a 15 year loan to take advantage of the low interest rates and bought a new car. We pay our insurance every 6 months without a problem and never do anything negative, so why raise our rates? They won't get the increase or any other money from me as we will find a loyal company to do business with.

I was quoted 260 before I purchase the car and I did give them the VIN number of the car and all my information that I was a first time buyer, also first time driver. When I got to the dealership and I bought the car, I called the insurance to sign up and they said it's $314. I had to take it because it was Christmas eve and the dealership needed to close. Anyhow I think Progressive are thieves and liars with fake quotes. I called them to talk about it and every single agent gave me different reason why it's higher. I already paid for this month but I am gonna change my car insurance policy before it ends. My advice to everyone - do not get Progressive Insurance - I am going to tell everyone I know and if they have, they should cancel it and go with another insurance.
