Progressive's insured driver hit me in an uninspected vehicle with an inoperational turn signal. While he was pulled over the shoulder on the right, he turned back into the lane without looking or using his broken blinker and hit my jeep on its side, rolled it over, and totaled it. Progressive says it's my fault, so I ended up with a totaled jeep I put a lot of work in, and I had to buy a whole new vehicle. They would not give me a cent, saying it was all my fault. To rub salt in the wound, SIX MONTHS LATER they decide to file a claim against me saying I should pay for the damage to his car, even though it is fine and I still see it driving around.
They completely denied my claim against him and I have no hope of ever getting any money back for the jeep he hit, but they are making matters worse for me by blaming it on me and making my insurance rates go up. Remember Progressive... His car was uninspected and shouldn't have been on the road to begin with. And HE is the one who hit ME.

So my brother in law had an accident on November. Car was total. He broke his hip. I called they said the car was not cover. That it was my problem. Maritza the Progressive representative told me "Your car nor my brother in law are covered". I asked why she said he was at fault. Not much communication between us. Nobody came to take pictures of the car. So I got myself a lawyer. 6 months later a received an email from Maritza they want to see the car. "When can we schedule an appointment." So email talk to my lawyer first. Then I received a called from Kerry from Progressive. She was super rude asking me "So when can we go take pictures of the car". Again I told her talk to the lawyer in charge of the case and she hung up on me. Really professional Progressive. That's the kind of people I would hire to run my business. Really disappointed.

I will never do business with there ** again. The rate they gave me was 252 dollars and CoverHound I found for better coverage was 108.58 because they researched and found that the accident I had was not my fault. I would not go to these ripoff company now. I'm stuck paying for insurance I canceled 3 days after I got it. Wow, ** RIPOFF Kingsss.

Progressive is the worst insurance out there. I have not been in an accident, or gotten a ticket in over 10 years and every time I would renew my policy the premium would go up. The lady that signed me up knew nothing about insurance. I would never recommend them to anyone. I would actually discourage people from going through Progressive. I am now with Liberty Mutual and Marylin from Liberty was so helpful, that I switched my policy within minutes of getting on the phone with her. I'm not even sure how Progressive is still in business. They are such a scam.

I called to cancel my new car policy 2 business days after I closed it and was told I had to show proof of insurance with another company before and that was according to Florida statute. After reading the statute myself and not finding anything, they instructed me to email the request instead and that it could not be done over the phone. The email is internal and even though I requested a copy, I did not get it. Luckily I anticipated that and screen-shot it for my records. 4 more days passed and I tried to solve it over the chat and was requested to show proof of insurance again. When I mentioned that I had been over that with previous agents and again asked for the paragraph where it says that, the conversation was manipulated and became a progressive policy and not the statue anymore. I know cancelling anything on earth is a nightmare but I feel like they are abusing it and because they are so big, there is nothing we can do to stop.

I can't seem to get in touch with anyone relevant to my complaint at Progressive but it concerns their latest commercial on rate suckers portraying a ** man being dragged behind the car especially in light of what has happened down south. I am ** but I still am highly offended and they should be ashamed. It should be taken off immediately and Progressive should be held accountable for the content. I'd like to know when breaking any animal or human being behind a car is ever right. I believe this commercial ad breaches the integrity Progressive Insurance in every way. Shame. Shame. Shame.

I had an accident recently, and the other driver had Progressive. The accident was determined to be other driver fault, but instead of paying for it all, Progressive were going to make me pay 20% of the damage which I had to negotiated to 10%, which I should not have to pay. And worst of all they claimed my car was total loss so now I have to look for a new car.
Since I had to find a new car I thought I would at least get a week on the rental car for the search but big disappointment, they said I had to return my rental or pay it out of my own pocket. I did not even know I had three day after we agree on the settlement. So I am losing over $400 on the accident and I will be paying over $210 on rental. All that when the other car hit me! All I can say is where is the customer service. I will be telling all my friends and associates stay away from Progressive Insurance.

I've been with Progressive for about seven years, and am even considered a "diamond member" (which means nothing, when it comes down to customer service). I pay my bill every month and have never filed a claim. I recently added glass coverage to my policy, as I've already replaced one (out of pocket) and had recently noticed a tiny crack in the windshield (about a month ago); I figured at some point it would need to be replaced. Soon after, as my car was parked in a lot that crack spread to about two feet long (I'm assuming someone put pressure on it or something). I called to check my coverage and, after over a week (unacceptable) of playing phone tag with Progressive and getting no solid answer, I was told that they would not cover it. So, I am paying an extra $9 a month for glass coverage and because the original tiny crack happened prior to glass coverage, the new two foot long crack will not be covered.
When I repeatedly pleaded my case, and expressed my disappointment in how this was handled, I was met with absolutely no care or gratitude for being a long-standing customer. When I informed them that I would be looking for a new insurance provider, I was told "that's your right." Well no **. I've been paying you every month, year after year, and costing you nothing, and you won't even cover a $400 windshield... on a technicality? I'm just a policy number to them; my history as a long-time, paying customer means nothing. I will find an alternative insurer to give my $ to each month. I suggest you do the same.

I have had Progressive for 3 years before this happen. We had just bought a 2005 five Jeep Compass low miles and not a scratch on it. We had comprehensive covering and someone hit the right rear quarter panel and bumper/tail light. I set up the appointment and went to their claim center. My car has two paint codes from Jeep. They tried to tell me it only had one. The peril with metallic clear coat was not in my car. When all said and done they cut me a check for 378.00$ and told me the bumper was cosmetic and they gave me an extra 5$ for a used taillight. I already had an estimate for 1,300$ and change. Well if you want used parts go with Flo. You will be guaranteed to get screwed on the first date.

I was involved a car accident and the Progressive was the insurer of the other driver who was at fault. My car was rear ended on the rear left bumper. After several days of investigation, the Progressive adjuster offered to repair my car. I was scheduled to drop off the car at one of Progressive Claim Center in Lewisville, TX. After waiting for several days, I got a phone call from one representative to go through the items they will repair for me. They offered to replace the bumper for me and the total cost would be $1,7** and they will take care of everything for me.
One day later, I received another call saying that they would not replace the bumper for me because there was some prior damage on my bumper and they would only take care of the rear left part of the bumper. As the body shop cannot guarantee the quality of work by only repairing the rear left part of the bumper, Progressive offered me a check of $7** for reimbursement. I was a little unhappy at the moment because 1) the prior damage to the bumper was minor; 2) Progressive saw my car and knew the condition before they made the first phone call to offer replacement of bumper; 3) even there was no prior damage to the bumper, they would still have to replace the bumper if the body shop cannot guarantee the repair quality of part of the bumper. However, I still accepted the offer because I think I can find a cheaper body shop and at most I'll pay extra $300 to get the bumper replaced.
On the third day, I received the third phone call saying that as the body shop already did wheel alignment on my car and did labor work of taking off and putting back bumper for damage estimation, they will charge $3** and Progressive will deduct that amount from the check offered to me yesterday. This is really unreasonable because they just told me yesterday that no repair will be done and I will get that $7** check. By deducting $3**, I will find nowhere to restore my car to the condition before accident. And how would I be responsible for the labor cost of damage estimation? I am really disappointed by the whole process because it looks like they are trying their best to play word games and reduce the amount they should pay for the damage.

I have been a customer with Progressive for over a decade. I was in a hit and run accident and they left me stranded. I even found the person who hit me and they did absolutely NOTHING. I still continued to be their customer for 5 more years. My rates went up 72 dollars over night just with a 1 year newer car same model. I haven't had a ticket in a few years and the accident was deemed my fault because of their horrible customer service and lack of aid. Don't fall for the positive reviews as those are just their company soldiers trying to cover up for their **. Explain this, Why was I paying 190.00 per month for low full coverage when nearly every other major company was charging me 100-110? Seems a bit unreasonable to me.
I called to cancel and the customer service, rep didn't even blink an eye. I was a member on my own since 2007 and a member with my parents prior from 2004. She asked to transfer me and I said "don't even worry about it because I am going to lose it on the next person I have to deal with and it's not their fault". If you have a disposable income and want good coverage well maybe PROGRESSIVE is for you. It absolutely blows my mind that people actually continue to dump money into this company. They are horrible. I wouldn't be surprised to hear they underpay their employees. PROGRESSIVE insurance has bad leaders. It is the upper management/executives that need to stop the GREED. I would never recommend PROGRESSIVE and I so far have had 13 people cancel their policies, that is not including my family which is soon to follow I am sure.

At first when my wife and I bought Progressive Insurance the quote seemed great and fit our budget but then through the course of 6 months we were constantly receiving added fees. When I called to speak to customer service they were rude and unprofessional. We paid in full a 6-month agreement upfront and we were being told our policy was going to be cancelled. I tried to explain that these added fees were wrong and further sought an explanation. I was never given a sensible answer.
In fact I felt somewhat threatened that we would lose our original money and would be responsible for unanswered added fees. As a result our insurance policy was cancelled before the six-month agreement, and we were informed we would be taken to collections for added fees. I have never written a consumer report before but Progressive crossed the line. For anyone considering them please be very careful. At first they seem great but in the end all they care about is the almighty dollar and how they can get as much as they can from you.

Accidentally sent out a check with the wrong policy number on it in the time it took them to send me back the check and for me to send out another one my insurance expired. They sent out something to the state telling them that I had no insurance and my registration was cancelled period. Couple days later it was reinstated and they didn't think it was necessary to contact me to let me know my registration was expired or even let me know that they had something out to the state so I went 9 months before getting pulled over to find out that my registration was expired. After calling and talking with them they take absolutely no responsibility for any of it. I will never ** use that company again.

I was involved in an auto accident. The police report clearly states, "Unit 1 failed to yield the right of way and tried to make a left-hand turn in front of unit 2 (my vehicle) causing unit 2 to hit passenger side of unit 1." Upon talking with the Progressive Insurance Company's adjuster named "Zack" to repair damages to my automobile, he had audacity to tell me that it was 80% fault of unit 1's driver and hence I was liable for 20% of cost incurred to repair my automobile. That's the most absurd thing I have ever heard from an Insurance company.
It is not enough that the unit 1's driver pulled out in my path, right of way, without yielding, but the adjuster claims that since "the air bags" were deployed in both the units, somehow indicated that driver of the unit 2, me, failed to brake!! Let me say if the bags had not deployed both unit 1's and unit 2's passengers would have been killed or seriously injured! The damage to my automobile is consistent with me having used my brakes if not my automobile would have been unrepairable! And Unit 1 may have been flipped over on its side.

My Lexus was hail on so I reported to claim office and they say they will have somebody call me within 2 days but I waited for almost a week and no respond and so I have to personally call and schedule appt to bring my car to let adjuster see it but not after having to wait another week. But Thank God, I brought my vehicle to let some other professional look at it to give me a quote before the Progressive adjuster look at it because the Progressive adjuster quote me not even 1/3 of what the other place quote me and told me that's all they giving me to fix my SUV.
I told them that I want my SUV fix and that it wasn't enough money to fix my SUV and they told me that I could get my SUV to a body shop and get them to call in with a quote and that they will come out and look at it again. Well, the place that I want my SUV to fix did call and they have not respond back and is now giving them the runaround. If I have known it is this difficult to file this claim, I would have never gotten my insurance with Progressive.
Please don't make same mistake, there's so many better insurance company out there who will take care of you and appreciate your business. And also, when I requested to speak to somebody with authority at the station where they adjusted my vehicle, they told me that there's nobody else to talk to and they are in complete control. They also say that they are done with me and there's nothing else to talk about. They attempted to shut me up when I was having a conversation with another customer that agree with me and that was rude. Well, good luck to all that's having the same problem that I'm having. All I could say is switch to somebody else that care because this company want to take your money every month and when you file a claim, they don't want to pay you enough to take care of your damage.

I hit two deer at 65 MPH on I-17 in May 2015. I had my Suburban towed back to Phoenix to a Progressive Shop (Bell Honda Collision). The initial response was that they were going to total my truck because they couldn't find the custom bumper. When I told them I didn't care if I had a custom bumper or not they went on to repair the vehicle. When I got the vehicle back the air conditioning didn't work and the check engine light was on. I sent it back to the shop and when I got it back the air conditioning still didn't work.
I called Progressive and they told me that there hadn't been enough damage to the vehicle to warrant the air conditioning being broken. I explained to them that the air conditioning had worked just fine up until the moment I hit the deer and they explained to me that I was wrong. So I reiterated for the supervisor that I spoke with how I understood it. "You're telling me that Progressive's stance on this is that some time after I hit the deer, while it was being towed by your tow truck and worked on by your mechanics the air conditioning magically broke on its own." She said that there was no way there was enough damage from the accident that the air conditioning could have been damaged.
I ended up taking the Suburban to a private repair shop where they looked at the truck, said the fan clutch needed to be replaced and that very likely that seeing as how the air conditioning worked up until the accident, the impact of going 65 MPH when I hit two deer was very likely the reason that it had "moved" and caused the leaks that were now wreaking havoc throughout the entire A/C system. I had this verified by another private repair shop and called Progressive back. Their stance was firm and they would not budge. I cancelled my policy and now I have insurance with a more reputable company. My belief is that Progressive only holds to their statement of returning your car to you in the EXACT same condition it was in before the accident only holds true if it's not too expensive for them.

There are a few reasons why the bad review; one might assume that after you pay for services on time, on a monthly basis, on an automatic draw, for a few years, you are rewarded??? Not really the case??? My reward was a bill after I cancelled (which I obviously could not possibly owe) and did not feel I needed to pay and therefore did not pay, followed by bad credit reporting until I found out this was going on. I don't give a flying fist about the amount owed (according to them), I do however care that my credit was messed with on their behalf after giving them thousands of dollars and never filing a single claim.
I am currently going to pay that insignificant amount of $130 something that I never should have been liable for to fix my credit, but very much hoping that this review gives PROGRESSIVE insurance company a low blow by way of swaying just enough customers to a more "user-friendly competitor". I currently have LIBERTY MUTUAL which fairly priced in very close proximity to GEICO, which has great service and is very user- friendly. I would strongly suggest you shop around and find what suits you best. Good luck but don't be surprised by finding something similar in your credit report after you part ways with your ex-girlfriend...I mean PROGRESSIVE Insurance.

I am reviewing Progressive for extremely dissatisfied service. Our family vehicle was involved in attempted theft where the vehicle was wrecked by the thief on our property. My husband stopped the man from stealing our car and had injuries and extensive damage to the car from the event. This happened on March 29th and was reported to Progressive on March 30. We did not hear back from their company until April 5th, 4 business days after the event!!! No one came in that time to inspect our vehicle or call to assess damages until April 5! We received a phone call that they were going to start an investigation into the theft. My husband was out of town that week so I dealt with them from that time along with my husband since I was with the vehicle and he was not. The representative did not want to rely on our police report only and after complaining about how long this has taken, she set up a pick up for our car.
That was April 6, the company did not pick it up until April 9 and that is only because I called them myself to set up a time. The rep also said it was going to be housed locally but when it was picked up by the company they took it to a city 2 hours away. Just on April 13 we finally had an estimate for our vehicle that was NOT ACCEPTABLE or even comparable to what the car would be valued. I asked for a copy of the estimate to be emailed and still have not received that and it is April 15th, almost 3 weeks later. I called the company to file a complaint and the person I spoke to was unfriendly and said that the claim had only been in process for 2 weeks, this is not accurate and I told her the date our claim was made on again.
This company is not helpful when you are involved in a crisis, they do not make you feel comfortable in stressful and uncertain situations. They are supposed to help guide you through these times and make sure we are supported. We have now been 3 weeks without this vehicle and we rely on it to get our two small children to school everyday. I am beyond unhappy with their service and any conversation I have had with 3 different representatives. My husband will be changing insurance providers and I suggest you do not go with Progressive if you are wanting to be able to feel taken care of during a crisis.

DO NOT BUY PROGRESSIVE INSURANCE for your RV, boat, and possibly for any other vehicle. I had a full coverage stated value policy for over ten years. I paid extra (around $500 yearly) to cover the RV for a value of $19,000. Then I had ONE claim this year due to a windstorm ripping off the roof, a roof on a much newer RV beside mine, and a large oak limb behind it. Right from the beginning on the phone the adjuster talked like he had already made up his mind that he would find an exclusion in the policy to deny my claim. Sure enough, he looked at the RV for 5 minutes, took some pictures, and proceeded to tell me that the roof was old and damage was due to wear and tear and thus, not covered.
They would not even offer to cover a portion of the damage even though it was CLEARLY due to high wind and rain, not age. I continue to complain to management, the BBB, the state insurance division, and others. But Progressive continues to come up with excuses for their position. There are only two excuses: 1) Greed, 2) The policy is worthless. Of course the roof had a little age. It is a 1992 Winnebago. They knew the age of the roof, yet GLADLY took the high premiums every year. The point is, their exclusions page deep in the policy is MUCH longer than the coverage page and is purposely written vaguely to give them MANY ways to DENY YOUR CLAIM. I am not the first to discover this. Many thousands before have complained too, but they do not care. DO NOT BUY PROGRESSIVE INSURANCE. DO NOT BUY PROGRESSIVE INSURANCE.

My claims adjuster said they will not cover my rental (even though rental coverage is in my policy) all because I added someone to my policy which is considered a policy change within 30 days of the incident. We decided to change from Allstate to another automotive insurance. Allstate pricing was becoming too high and it looks like Allstate is only good while one has no accidents. After few scratches at parking lots during last 5 years, Allstate decided we needed to pay more and with their actuaries apparently not having sufficient skills to see how much money they were making on our 3 cars, they lost us as client after milking our family for 12 years.
So much for their loyalty to their customers! We checked with Progressive agent in Iselin, NJ, Farmers and Geico. Progressive agent William was very nice and professional, but he gave us honest company price and it was twice the amount of both, Geico and Farmers. I frankly feel for him, since with prices Progressive gives to him and other agents, he probably needs second job to survive. We went ahead with Geico due to good customers reviews. Lessons learned:
1. Allstate is not good long-term option. Company is OK, but it does not consider customer a long-term value, looks more at numbers.2. Progressive insurance is much more expensive than any other insurance and it is waste of time to even check their numbers!
3. Farmers is OK.
4. Geico appears the most reasonable.
We will post another review after 6 months to confirm there were no unexpected price hikes.

I was a Progressive customer for over 10 years. When I finally had to file a claim for an accident I was involved in, I was shocked by the way Progressive handled it. They closed the claim within a week of the filing date, even though I had not yet submitted all the documents I had. When I emailed them about this, they did not respond. They held me at 80% at fault, even though the other driver hit me. The other driver admitted in court that she hit me, and did not see me until I was right in front of her. I would think that this is proof enough that I was not at fault.
Progressive is not concerned with helping their customers, they are concerned with processing and closing claims as soon as possible, without bothering to review all the relevant documents. I do not recommend using Progressive, and if you are currently with Progressive, you might want to switch to another company if you want to be covered if you have an accident.

She has an license from her home country which was required to enter and they charged a foreign DL surcharge. One, I did not list her as a second driver, just a spouse and 2, she does not drive the car. I spoke to a rep (Debra) and all she did was repeat the same corporate spiel about their policy. Long story short, he backed into a car that was packed on the street. We called Progressive and informed them of the accident.
My roommate even acknowledge to Progressive that the accident was his fault, and that I did not give him the permission to take my car. I am so dissatisfied and feel cheated by Progressive! If anyone is planning to shop around for insurance, STAY AWAY from Progressive. They are sooo dishonest. Minor damage only valued at $485.00. I didn't expect my premium to up that much since it was my first accident and I had been with their company since 2006. My renewal was sent to my email and they increased my monthly payment 96%! I called to find out why I was being charged so much for an accident that was valued at less than $500. They were not sympathetic at all.
They kept saying that since it was my fault and that I lived in California that the increase was appropriate. They said it would stay that way for the next 3 years! I told them it wasn't fair to charge me $1600 for a $485.00 accident claim. No matter what I told them, they did not care. So I decided to shop around after being heartbroken that my insurance company that I had been loyal to for almost a decade of my life didn't care about overcharging me for a very minor accident. (My license plate scratched the other persons car that was the only damage!)
I found another insurance company (a huge well-known company) who told me in my state that if the claim wasn't over $1000 in damage that my premium should not have went up that high. I switched over to them and am paying only $75.00 a month for the same coverage Progressive was trying to charge me $105 a month for. The new insurance company also told me they would lower my rates annually if I am not involved in any at-fault accidents or receive any moving violations with point counts. They did not surcharge me for my accident. Thank God I switched. Progressive should be ashamed of themselves!

I was rear-ended by a driver covered by Progressive over a week ago and still have not gotten any response from the claims adjuster, car assessor, etc. I have taken time off of work, and school to attempt to get a hold of someone who is able to help me. Their covered party is not returning their phone calls, texts, emails, and they are not moving forward with interpretation of the police report. This has been an absolute nightmare and have never had such poor customer service. I was referred to file the claim under MY insurance company and have MY insurance pay for this accident where it is absolutely clear that I was rear-ended and I am not at fault.
Absolutely terrible service, and I am at a loss for words as they will not assume liability for my totalled car after a week and a half of not receiving any contact back from their insured driver. Unprofessional, difficult to work with, and extremely set on NOT helping move things along. If I could mark less than one star for customer service, value, and coverage, I would.

To start, when I got the policy I was asked to go through an automated system to verify the charge every month to my bank account. 2 months later I get a overdraft on my account because of Progressive, they charged twice as much as I approved to be taken from my account. My bank was great, credited back the overdraft fees. I called Progressive to cancel and had to jump through hoops from the 15 - 28. When I cancel they cannot give me a refund amount, only advising it will be cancelled and I will receive an email (never received the email, had to get on the website for an information).
My refund is $ 150.00 less than it should of been. I call the Progressive and they advise me that it's an unearned premium charge. To me this was a cancel fee. Progressive want people to pay their bill and on time, but they can change premiums when and how they want. They can bill your account for a different amount than you approved. They lie by omission. This is a horrible company. I will never use them again, and I will tell all of my friends and family about this, help them find other insurance options. So disappointed in the service I received.

Progressive does not know how to do business right nor they know how to treat their customers. My brother was hit while driving. Even though everything was settled in our favor, Progressive went ahead and added him under my policy as my spouse so that they could charge me for two people under the policy.
I had paid for a full year. This happened 6 months into that year and they were basically charging me for two more years in order to finish off those other 6 months. They have yet to obtain the police report for the accident and did not even submit the request for it until two weeks after I started my claim! I chose Progressive after researching many insurance companies because of price and easy online access for quote and everything. After 8 months I was offered a lower priced same Progressive insurance by a local Progressive agent, and so I called customer service on March 15th around 6:30 to cancel my policy with two cars that same day as I have started a new one already. 30 minutes later I called again and asked to schedule the cancellation of one of the cars in five days because I was selling it and didn't put it in the new policy but didn't want to be uncovered until sold. Even though I had to wait for 20 min to get someone on the line, it was all apparently easy.
Less than 24 hours later I found out the local agent only got me a lower price because he changed my name and marital status. So I called Progressive and informed them what happened and asked them to reinstate my policy as it was before, but only with one. The other car was being sold and had cancellation scheduled already. That was when my nightmare started: after that day it took me a week and 5 other calls to get Progressive to reinstate my insurance as it was. Every attendant seemed not to listen to what I was saying.
The first person I called reinstated my insurance but with an increase $$, didn't correct the marital status and had someone else listed in my policy. Second I notice through my Progressive app I had an $800 payment scheduled for the following month and there was still someone listed in my app. That is when I found out I was going to pay for two policies the following month, and beside that I was still paying for the two cars I had and not only one as I asked. Fourth time I found out they had finally reinstated my policy but had taken my rental reimbursement and roadside assistance out of coverage. It was very stressful, so many days, long hours of waiting.
The attendants seemed very nice at first but after few minute of conversation they all started with an attitude. They want to solve problems fast but don't really pay attention what is the client need. I asked to complain about it and that I wanted to write a review because I wanted people to know this. They told me they don't have any place for complaint or public review and said sorry and bye. I wonder what could happen had I and even serious problem to solve. As soon as I recover from this stress going to look for another Company. Starting by reading more reviews and customer rates on insurance companies. Tired of it.

I was involved in a hit and run accident recently and I am covered by Progressive. The vehicle that hit me was insured by State Farm. After calling to file my claim through Progressive I was asked to pay a deductible and when Progressive can recover the damages I will be refunded. I am a bartender and a student who counts every penny. This accident was not my fault and I don't believe I should part ways with a sum of money I am not guaranteed to get back. After refusing to hand over the $750 the claims representative asked for another $75 to get the police report which is FREE. A few days later I get the report and send it over to her. A few days goes by and I hear nothing back so I send an email asking when I could expect something to happen. She kindly responds three days later telling me I should file the claim myself through State Farm.
I am not in the insurance business, but I believe I pay my premium for my insurance company to handle matters like this for me, simply to take the stress out of having an accident. I tried to file my own claim, but because this was a hit and run, I don't have the driver's name, only the license plate and VIN number to the vehicle. State Farm wouldn't process a claim for me without this information. I asked my Progressive representative to file the claim for me, she responds by saying "if you are so worried about your vehicle, pay the $750 deductible and file your claim through us." This is no help to me. I will no longer be a Progressive customer and I recommend looking somewhere else if you are thinking of becoming one.

Even after showing the receipt for the $500.00 car starter that was less than 5 months new, she still only offered $100 in place of that. In the end I walked away with a $3 check from Progressive after a traumatic accident of being hit by a drunk driver.
These people are professional crooks after the money and they certainly do not care about you as a person, customers are numbers to them and that was made very clear. The claim representative basically told me since I don't have full coverage I'm screwed, even though I was not liable. I also was the one who had to do all of the footwork and investigating.
My representative did nothing to help me on this matter. I eventually had to go obtain video surveillance myself to prove my innocence. The first claim was my fault under my car. 2nd: someone has insurance hit mine. 3rd one: people has insurance hit my husband car while its parking. 3 claims were all not my fault, but they still terminated even I was with Progressive for 4 years and have good driving records. They said they sent me 2 notices but I did not respond cause I did not know and I live in apartment. It might be lost to different units. Now I have to paid for collateral protection insurance from my bank that was too expensive. They did not give me any solution to solve or do something for loyal customer. I was so disappointed and unhappy with the way they treat loyal customer. I am happy to be raised premium, but I could not believe they terminated mine cause 3 claims within 36 months. It is ridiculous and bitter lesson for me.

I was with Progressive for 7 plus years. Through that time I was never offered a discount or any perks. Last month I go to pay my bill and it 20 dollars more a month 240 more a year!? No notification no reason. I had not been in a wreck it added anyone or anything to insurance. My bill went from 130 to 150 a month without reason. I switched to Allstate and now my premium is 104 dollars a month for full coverage and I have better coverage. I feel like I have been robbed for 7 plus years.

Progressive Insurance has very poor customer service, and it has absolutely no loyalty perks. We have been excellent auto insurance customers for over five years. We have paid on time and in full regularly because our payments were automatic through our bank. After our premium had changed there was a glitch and our bank sent the regular amount--about $30.00 less than full payment. They canceled our insurance and did not notify us immediately. They were rude on the phone and were unwilling to work with us to solve the problem. We are in the process of ending all of our insurance accounts with them, and we are finding a company with much better business practices.

Recently was the victim of a hit and run accident where a car came left of center and sideswiped me causing damage to the driver's mirror and broke the driver's window. The claims process went as easy as I have ever seen. Probably 35 years ago we had a different insurance company (State Farm) where there was a similar accident only with more damage. The claims process with State Farm was an absolute nightmare with delays, low-ball estimates and some pretty ridiculous statements from agents. We had them until about 7 years ago when we decided enough was enough. Progressive handled our claim promptly, professionally and kindly. They kept us informed throughout the repair process which was also professionally done. I wish I could give 10 stars because they deserve every bit of them.

It blows my mind that they actually lowered my payment on full coverage. I called to cancel my progressive policy and they asked why? I told them and they didn't even offer to try and fix any wrongdoings. Will NEVER use them again. I feel like I have been ripped off the past two years.

The estimates were WAY off. Progressive not evaluating for what was underneath the quarter panel when it was removed etc. My shop & their supv. went back & forth and they will refuse to pay. My shop said they will no longer handle cars that are insured under Progressive or Geico, apparently they are just as bad. I'll not leave my shop on the hook so I file a complaint with Better Business Bureau, NJDOBI every state has one (division of business & industry), NAIC, that's their controlling body. These people are criminals. After a person hit me that had their insurance company. Their driver ran a red light and then merged into my lane. After calling them they suddenly became incredibly rude and unprofessional. After denying the facts of the claim, which indicate that their insurer had ran the light they made no attempt to contact the officer that she admitted running the light to despite a police report explaining admittance. They refused to pay the claim. Their unprofessional attitude continued.
After seeing that they were trying to get out of paying the claim, I asked for a second review of the incident. Not only did I get denied twice they laughed at me. They told me the police report didn't matter. That this was a matter of differing opinions and it would be pointless to pursue further action. If you are in a similar circumstance please contact the BBB and Nebraska Department of insurance. Both have websites with fairly easy complaint processes. The people at this company do not deserve licenses.

I got rear-ended in December and this was my first accident. I had no idea what to do and how to handle the situation when it came to dealing with the insurance company. I have been a Progressive member for the last 9 years, but because a AAA insured driver hit me, I was required to deal with them myself as I only had liability. It was a long journey as the AAA insurance company was very unhelpful as my car was destroyed and it was a multi vehicle accident.
Point being, my Progressive representative Stephanie ** was with me the whole time helping me with any questions and concerns that I had. It felt good having someone on my side, helping me through this long journey. Although, it has been over a month, and AAA has not paid me for my towing fees yet, I feel I can always call Stephanie for advice. I just wanted to say thanks to her, and let everyone know that not all insurance employees are trying to squeeze people.

I have had insurance with this company for many years. We started noticing the rate increases, so we tried Geico for a while. Geico ended up trying to force me to cover my daughter when I assured them she was using her aunt's car & would never drive my car - so we went back to Progressive. During all this, I had the same car, a Camry that I'm still making payments on. I ended up having a wreck. I didn't see the guy, but since he hit me in the front, it's my fault. I call Progressive & they inform me that I don't have "collision" coverage. I was completely shocked!
I have never had a problem w/ signing up, making payments, etc, on their website. They could see that I had my lien holder listed, but still said I didn't have collision coverage. So, my car is now sitting in my front yard, I can't drive it & don't know what I'm gonna do. Anyone have any suggestions? I have heard that Progressive is a scam & they do all they can to not cover a claim when they're needed the most!

Claims said that it is only obvious he will take his customer's side and not ours and denied my claim because he could. So now I am without a car and since it was an older Toyota Camry it would have cost them nothing to pay out. He was just asserting his power and I can do nothing. After being involved in a vehicle accident in SEP 15 with a driver who was insured with a Progressive subsidiary company. I thought the claims process would go fairly smooth as the situation was pretty cut and dry. I was hit, the other driver admitted he struck my vehicle (both to the police and to Progressive). Thankful this individual was honorable and willing to admit his mistakes. I hold nothing against him for causing the accident. After all it was not a Purpo-dent. Progressive is a national company and I am sure they deal with claims every day. Well...
I spoke to his insurance representative who started out nothing but nice, letting me know they would get everything taken care of in a timely manner as their driver affirmed the story I had provided was true to the best of his knowledge (there were two minor discrepancies; he stated I was about 20 ft further ahead, and he thought I sped up in an effort to prevent him from merging). These were never brought up as the rep turned to the dark side, later informing me they would only cover 80% of the damages. The discrepancies above were never brought up as reason for Progressive to deny 100% responsibility, rather they said the reason they were only accepting 80% was because I did not "slam" on my breaks in heavy bumper to bumper traffic and I did not attempt to merge into the other lane. A steady break and the sound of a horn blasting was not enough.
In an email to the company representative, I clearly stated Progressive is throwing away ethics in an attempt to save the bottom line. This was never disputed by any of the individuals working for Progressive when I spoke to them. Progressive's answer for the other 20% was for me to file a claim with insurance company and they would pay 80% of my deductible (my deductible is $100). There was about $2,000 in damages, for them to attempt to escape with an $80 bill was not going to fly with me (Not to mention they were attempting to save about $400 dollars by making me cover the other 20%).
They attempted to tell me I was looking at this situation from a black and white standpoint and that this was not the case. When I asked how the situation was gray, they went back to me not breaking to my vehicle's full extent. Furthermore, I went to the trouble of researching all of the traffic laws pertaining to the situation I was involved in and found 0 which made me liable and four violations of the other driver. Progressive's response, "That is why we are willing to cover the damages at 80%." By now about a month or so had past and my vehicle had not been repaired and was not really safe to be driving based on several sharp edges on the wheel.
Finally, I came to the conclusion I was doing nothing but talking to a brick wall despite the evidence, laws and concurrent stories by both parties. I made the call to my insurance company explaining I needed to make a claim but I wanted Progressive to cover the damages. They explained they have a legal process they can go through if they felt there were grounds for reimbursement. My insurance company called and spoke to the other driver who provided them the same story he provided to Progressive (again admitting he was the one that struck my vehicle).
My insurance company eventually had to take them through a legal process where all of the information was presented (to include the entire email chain I had with Progressive laying out some of the things I have stated in this informational complaint I am providing you). Progressive strong-armed the matter for nearly 5 months before my insurance company called me to inform me everything was resolved and the courts found them 100% responsible. 5 MONTHS!!! Was this really worth $400, not to mention my insurance company's preferred repair company was actually more than the shop Progressive asked me to go to (which I was completely willing to work with). I would like to know how much money Progressive invested in resources to fight the initial $400 liability. However, this information will likely never be divulged to me.
My warning to you as an insurance consumer is to STAY AWAY FROM PROGRESSIVE! There is no telling how they will treat you as a client. In this case, they ended up dragging their client along and having them provide numerous statements as they did me which I am sure took away resources from insureds company. When he admitted it was his fault and was simply trying to have the matter resolved. I personally do not believe these penny pinchers would stand up for you as my insurance company did for me as they are more focused on their bottom line and the legal process would cost them additional resources (aka money) they are not willing to part with despite how wrong they are.

One driver was charged with hit and run and Progressive still did nothing to get any car repair or medical bills paid by other Ins.Co., who denied the claim because they believed their driver and not the police report. Then Progressive had the nerve to put both hit and run claims on the CLUE report as collision and my fault, which has now raised my rates by 30% and can't get decent rates from any other companies. By the way I was parked when this happened in a designated parking spot. His ins company came to my home and took pics of my car that showed no damage at all. The other driver had some black paint from somewhere which he told his ins company I did. When they come to take pics they were confused because my car is white. Whhhhaaa go figure. I would never recommend this company to anyone for car insurance. We were with this company for a couple of years and never had a claim. I purchased a new car and unlucky for me had a collision with a car right after we got it. My driveway sits right at the corner of one of the busiest intersections in my town. Very annoying to say the least. This was the first time this happened to me since moving here three years ago. Well anyways car insurance states that you have at least 30 days to switch your policy to your new vehicle. The policy for your old car carries over. Our local branch told us everything was in order and claim would pay for damages to both cars.
I get a call days later from the Progressive claims office not our local branch saying they were not going to pay for damages to my vehicle. I went round and round with these people. I felt we were just a number and that they will do anything to get out of covering your claim. Funny how all their advertising states they are there for the customer. What a load of bull. Don't get fooled into going with this car insurance. I have since switched to a smaller local insurance company which ended up being way cheaper than Progressive with the same coverage.

What seems odd to me is the fact that they are rewarding the other driver for not looking out of the back window while backing out and having their music too loud to hear my horn to alert them that another car is right behind them as I get punished for not speeding my vehicle through a parking lot to get away from their client so they wouldn't be liable when I could have potentially hit a pedestrian or another vehicle. Worst insurance company I have ever dealt with. I would not recommend doing business with this company especially after the negligence I received from their claims department.

According to my experience with Progressive Insurance, after many years of never having a late payment or missed payment (both mine and my two children's), any "paperless" or over-the-phone payment I have made in the past 4 months "never occurred" and I must be double-billed. The double speak they use and the justifications for "customer error" instead of looking inward at "employee error" is amazing. I was told I have "stellar payment history" and yet after years of never lapsing in insurance, I all of a sudden missed payments? I work three jobs to keep me and my family afloat. Progressive, along with all car insurance companies have consumers over a barrel, we don't have a choice, we must PAY.
I am just completely dissatisfied with the attitude, the double speak, and the justification for double billing me twice in 4 months, due to an error on their part. The only way to deal with them is to spend extra time (that I do not have), go to the bank, find all payments made to them and justify my "claims". Not a fan, but am a law abiding citizen, so I will continue to carry insurance, but will be in the market for a better insurance company. A higher being is going to have to fight this battle for me as I am too busy with life to fight a corporate monger like Progressive.

Summary. I had some work done on my truck tires. A few weeks later the front driver side tire flew off my truck on the highway in Wyoming during winter. All the lugs were completely sheared off. I had full coverage through Progressive. Called immediately. Transferred twice. Disconnected. Called back. Waited 2 hours for a tow truck. I was 4 miles outside of Casper city limits. Then I got a call informing me that they didn't have an authorized tow agent, so I would have to pay that cost myself out of pocket. Then a heated discussion over where my vehicle should go. I was told if I didn't take it to their authorized service and repair center then I wouldn't get the discounts and full service needed. Umm. Ok. 425 dollars for a 6 mile tow. 4 hours later.
Next day I got a call from the adjuster. He listed all the things they were looking at. All seemed like it was going ok. 2 weeks later I get told if I would pay the discounted price out of pocket, then it would stay off of my insurance preventing rate hikes. But I was still getting first rate progressive service. Out of pocket costs? 789 dollars. To replace the rotor and rim only. I'm no mechanic but my tire flew off. Truck slammed down on the highway, bounced twice. Then slid over a hundred feet into the ditch. And that's all that's wrong? Adjuster assured me.
After work that night I paid and picked up my "ready to go vehicle". Except... ha. New rim was shoved in the back seat laying on my 700 dollar Stetson. Trash not mine was in the vehicle. They put the spare on. But I have a lift and oversized tires. No one checked bolts, shocks, struts, lift, fog lights, etc. No alignment or brake work done. I paid extra for a "spare" larger rim to fit my tires. Truck shook and rattled like a banshee. I immediately called to complain. And did so twice a day for the next week.
It took 9 days to get a call back where I was told that it wasn't done in my policy so it's not covered. I went ballistic. I was also extremely aggravated that my brand new tires were messed up due to being put on wrong. But Progressive refused to cover those. Stating several times it's not in their policy. Then I was told I would need to take time off of work and go talk to the repair shop myself. I do. Trucks dropped off again. 4 or 5 days later I get told that their shop isn't equipped to handle my large truck with its heavy front end and I would need to go to Toyota. So I paid for another tow to Toyota.
Four days later I get a call from their main service guy. He listed a long detailed things of what he'd seen and found. But the Progressive adjuster audited the list and told him what could and couldn't be repaired. Tires not included. Several days later, 600 dollars in repairs were made although 5600 dollars were listed initially. And Progressive listed over 3,000 in repairs online.
Brakes were still shot. There were actually rocks in the calipers! But not covered. Nothing on the stability or lift was repaired. Wiring was yanked out of the fig lights and left that way. Front covering between the tires and body and truck was pulled out and not replaced. All my chrome tire stem caps were replaced with black plastic. And suddenly the power steering pump needed to be replaced. It was full of sand and rocks. I had it pumped out. Serpentine belt suddenly had nicks. Truck veers to the left. Shakes at speeds between 55-75.
49 calls later I was finally put through to a supervisor. He seemed ok until I found out that after tons of more unanswered calls, the claim was suddenly closed. I called and emailed dozens of more times. Called the call center. Different agents. And for some reason I can't get anyone else willing to talk. No info, names, or numbers for other supervisors. Now Progressive is citing me for a bad credit report for having 47 dollars unpaid on my last payment. Ha. You think?!
To this day my truck is still damaged. And as a guy that works all over, I need reliable transportation. I've spent a lot of money making my truck nice. But I refuse to pay for repairs that were supposed to be covered. And denied and neglected by a "professional 19 year old adjuster"! I have receipts. Saved voicemails and there should be a hundred recorded conversations saved on Progressive's system.

The accident occurred in a very rural town population 65 with no paved roads and no stop signs. I was traveling south on main road at the edge of town and was hit by another vehicle traveling east on a side road. I was hit on the passenger rear side door and panel over the rear wheel. The driver admitted not seeing my vehicle and I didn't know the car was there until the collision occurred. And we exchanged insurance verification and personal information and pictures, in a friendly manner. A police report was not made because there were no injuries, Damage was minor on both cars and Weather was not an issue.
Both of drivers notified our respective insurance companies and initiated action to repair the damage. My Insurance company advised that it appeared that the other driver was at a fault and I should contact Progressive first. I contacted Progressive agent and was assigned an agent to handle the claim. The agent first indicated that they had certified body shop in my area and would proceed to arrange for repair quickly and I should deliver the car to the certified shop to get the repairs started.
Then things began to unravel. The progressive Agent apologized and said they would have to review the claim further but I should still take the car into the certified shop so that their Adjuster could see it. It seems that with Progressive, the body shop must come to an agreement with the progressive adjuster before they will authorize repair.
After review the adjuster authorized the repairs at a lowered value of $371.94 from the Original Body shop estimate of $2186.61. After further delay the claim agent apologized again and said repairs could not yet be authorized because the liability for the claim had not been determined. Subsequently I was advised by the Progressive Claim agent that the claim was denied because they had determined that both drivers were at fault because neither acknowledged seeing the other and the determination of liability was not negotiable.
My only option at this point was to reinstate my claim with my own insurance company and pay my $500 deductible. My insurance company immediately authorized the repairs to be done at the same facility suggested by Progressive and transferred funds based on the original body shop estimate to my checking account within 24 hr.
My complaint is twofold: 1. The Progressive Claim Agents and Adjusters apparently are not empowered to make decisions on their own, and must somehow constantly refer to some higher internal authority before any final action is taken. 2. It seems to me that conventional rules of the road have been twisted in favor of Progressive instead of a fair disposition of the claim with virtually no opportunity for input by the claimant. Whatever happened to the universal rule that says: Drivers entering a road from a driveway, alley, or roadside must yield to vehicles already on the main road.

The Progressive adjustor, was the most arrogant, and "in denial" professional I have ever dealt with. It seems that what I experienced was standard procedure... to ignore evidence, deny the police report, ignore their legal responsibilities, and tell their victims, "tough luck!"
My good company explained that this is often "standard procedure" for many bad insurance companies. Deny responsibility, in spite police report and the fact that "I was not even there", the car was BMW of Austin responsibility and in their hands. Somehow they blame me? Then don't call to inform me? Until well after the collision, after they haul the car away, try to hide damage and erase the evidence to the best of their abilities. Regressive Insurance should be their name.

I go online and receive an unbelievable quote and decide to make the switch, so I submit my info, my policy comes back approved from underwriting but with approximately a $200 increase in the 6-month premium. I figure it's okay, for the amount of coverage am getting it's still okay. I also try to purchase renters insurance to qualify for their discount, however am notified later that I do not qualify for any additional discounts. OK whatever. I decide to move forward with the auto policy only. A few days go by and I get my paperwork and it list only 1 vehicle, not 2 vehicles as I originally had entered. I call Progressive and the representative tells me that my premium will nearly double by adding the 2nd vehicle!!
Now remember, I entered 2 vehicles when I got a quote. The person that called me a day later to go over the coverages confirmed 2 vehicles, but my cards only have one vehicle listed!!! And adding the 2nd will double my already increased premium. I spoke to Progressive again demanding an explanation, they try to tell me that I only entered one vehicle in my initial quote. I told them that I worked as an insurance agent for 5 years and I know what am doing. I entered 2 vehicles, my original quote was for 2 vehicles, and the person that called me a day later to go over coverage even confirmed 2 vehicles!! How I wish I could turn back the hands of time.
Horrible experience, incompetent underwriting, false advertising regarding additional discounts when you buy renters insurance, etc. Stay away from these clowns there are way better insurance companies out there. That's my story and I hope it helps anyone out there make an informed decision before buying insurance from these people.

At 11:17 while still on hold (my phone up to 55 minutes at this point) we called progressive again from wife's phone and asked if we could just get assistance through "911" and send Progressive the bill. After about 5 minutes of checking we were told we could. We contacted All Towing, Inc of Richmond Hill Georgia. They were out in less than 30 minutes and changed our tire for us.
A Georgia State Trooper checked on us a little earlier and confirmed how dangerous it is to be off on shoulder as I95 very busy there and inattentive drivers cause accidents. My wife was in tears until the tow truck arrived. To make matters worse, the extra delay caused by our wait for Progressive help that never came caused us to spend an additional night on the road home as we did not feel safe driving after dark. My cell phone records show that our initial call at 10:22 ended after 94 minutes. Not only did Progressive drop the call but they never made any attempt to get back with us after the call was dropped as they had promised.
We are cancelling all of our policies with Progressive and plan to invest time via internet etc. to warn prospective and existing Progressive Clients of the extreme lack of customer care afforded by Progressive when we needed it most. In fact we opened a complaint case with Progressive on 1/5/16 via email and on 1/8/16 via phone call. We were assigned case number ** and I was assured a rep named Kinshasa would call me on 1/8/2016. Today is 1/15/2016 and I have not heard a word from anyone at Progressive. Apparently Progressive Insurance is like the Hotel California you can get a policy but you can't check out!!! I have talked with 4 representatives today alone. I hope not refer to them as customer service representatives, for several reasons: 1. I have received no help. 2. I still have and I am paying for a policy on a vehicle that has been recycled as of Dec. 2015. 3. The last Progressive representative told me she didn't care where I got my next insurance policy. I bought a car last year and left Geico for Progressive. What a mistake. Progressive was full of miscommunications from the start. They told me I could chose the date that my account would debited except when I tried to call to do so, they informed me that my state has a law that says that I can't... Um no they don't! Every other insurance company I contacted about this didn't know what I was talking about. Then when I purchased another car I decided I no longer wanted to use Progressive anymore so I went to cancel. I had made a $136 payment 9 days prior to cancellation so I was expecting part of that money back!
Even the lady on the phone told me I would receive a refund but in order to do so I had to email a notice of cancellation. I could not do it over the phone. ANOTHER UNHEARD OF METHOD!! When I sent in the email of cancellation I received a response back telling me that I had a due balance of $17! I responded with "How could this be I just made a payment and I should receive money back". Again I received some bull crap about their policies in which I have never heard of from any agency!
"When we cancel a policy, the premium is divided into two categories: the cost for the period it was active and the cost associated with the period it was not active. We earn the cost of the policy for the active period and certain percent of the non-active period. This is earned because we processed the policy with the expectation that it would run its full term. It did not run its full term because of the cancellation. This is why there is a balance owed on the policy. I apologize that this was not included in the previous email." Will not be referring any one to this insurance agency. EVER!

I left my previous insurance company of over 12 years to give Progressive a try. I regret it after only 2 months. My car was struck by road raging driver who refused to stop after he hit my car. My pregnant wife and a toddler were in the car. We took photos of the car that struck us and his license plate, called the police, and went to the station to file a report immediately after. I even have video of me approaching the other vehicle telling the driver he struck my car and then him driving off. The police investigation is still ongoing and yet the Progressive claims department told me that the other driver sent photos of his car with no damage on it so the case is closed as far as they are concerned. To add insult to injury the claims rep told me that it's "not a hit and run" and they don't know how my car was damaged--basically calling me a liar and said that they won't cover the deductible.
The police accident investigator said that I did everything I was supposed to do, putting the other vehicle at the scene with photos and videos, to have the insurance company go after the other driver. Having the other driver send his own photos is insufficient to say no damage was done to my car at the scene, because how does one know if it's even his car that he took photos of and when it was actually taken? The police investigator went on to say someone couldn't taken my mirror off and no damage would appear on their car--that doesn't discount the fact that an accident didn't happen at all.
The police has now charged the other driver with misdemeanor hit and run. All while Progressive still is denying my claim. So I'll fix the car on my own dime. I don't need this insurance company, I just cancelled. They didn't even bother trying to help their customer to save a few hundred bucks while they could've had a loyal auto and home customer for another 10 years. Stay away folks. They said that I was also at fault because I hadn't obtained control of the aisle at the time of the collision and I didn't honk the horn to stop the other car. I have documentation of my last payment made to Progressive and my first payment to a new better insurance company. Progressive insists they emailed and mailed me a closing bill.
I offered to pay the bill in return for removing the collection from my credit report. This seemed fair, since I do not believe I owe the bill but would pay to have it removed from credit report. Progressive politely declined. In which case, I have absolutely no incentive to pay a bill I do not owe. My 2014 Chevy Impala was involved in an accident on September 8, 2015. Initially I was told by the agent my car would probably be totaled if the damage was $24.000 or over. Within two weeks I was told it had to be totaled at $27.000 because when the dealership (Ray Skillman) estimated the cost it had reached the $24.000 estimated cost. My car was at Ray Skillman Collision Center for over 3 months and now the cost of repairs have exceeded the $27.000. My husband & myself has ask the adjuster to total this car but now he says the cost has to be about $8.000 more dollars. I feel he made a mistake in getting the car repaired. It was underestimated and now I have to suffer the consequences of my automobile being involved in a front end collision because both (insurance adjuster & Ray Skillman) underestimated the repair to my vehicle.
The same day I picked the car which was December 23 the engine light came on. Took car back collision center. Replaced a part. Said it was fixed. Drive home and within an hr the engine light came on. The paint job to car has ripples and swirls, and I'm taking it back to Ray Skillman again. All of this could have been avoided if the agent did his job correctly. Now I'm stuck with a car that isn't what I am paying for. And by the way, the accident was NOT my fault. I'm hoping that someone with authority at Progressive will do the right thing and total the car.

I have been with this company for 6 years. My rate raised over 200 this year and they claimed it was because of the risk factor on where I lived. I bought a new car and wanted to add it to my policy and they were going to charge me over 200 a month for my new car which is a Mazda, nothing fancy or crazy fast. This seemed way too steep for me so I did a little research; other companies quoted me at 112 with better coverage and roadside assistance and a rental car if I need one.
I called to tell them I was cancelling because of the difference and because I was never informed of my rate increases and was told the first time that they didn't have to inform me by law that my rate increased and the second time that they did email me that info, I just must not have seen it. I have never had an accident and have not had a speeding ticket in years (over 3 years to be exact). I will never return to this company and I will not recommend it either. I have been with Progressive since 2013. Whenever I had to file a claim, the claim agent never returns my calls nor even ask my emails. I had an hit and run accident on May 2015 which left my car disable on the side of the interstate. The car was towed to the tow shop parking lot. I took pictures of the damage to my car which the damage was to the front passenger side. After advising Progressive where I want to have my car sent to, they paid for the towing and delivered the car to Baugh Auto Body in Richmond, VA. Baugh has had to repair my car a few times so they knew the history of car. After waiting nearly 3 months, my car appeared to be fix, so I picked it up. I drove it home and the next day I discover that the car had several large dents in the roof of my car. Baugh knew that this was not previous damage but the claim rep. said it was previous damage and I would have to file another claim. Which I did.
However I found more problems with my car. The front bumper and headlights did not align up. I brought this to Baugh the body shop and tried to contact Kevin who was the adjustor who I tried to explain to him that this car was not properly fix. Kevin ** from Progressive was rude and never answered my call or emails. When I drive my car, the noise came from the front wheels and I took it to Acura to have them find out what deal was. Acura stated that my tires were cupping and wearing fast. I had purchased new tires and had the body shop install and do an alignment on the car. After Acura said need to align, after have the car for a couple weeks, I took the car to Goodyear and had then do a free alignment check which the car was still bent and never repaired.
There were other issues. The air bag light would turn off the passenger air bag. I tried to get Baugh and Progressive to fix this issues. They were no help so I took the car to Acura and they adjusted the passenger seat indicator for the air bag. I contacting Progressive again and advises them of the car being bent and after 7 months they agreed to fix the car. Baugh auto body stated that they would never touch my car again because of SIU got involve because of an survey I took.
Kelly ** from Baugh and the owner were no help. They even put the wrong rocker molding on my car. I had to fight to get the correct part. They also would not fix the front bumper and headlight so they stated that repairs were done correctly but that not turn after Goodyear confirm the car was bent from the alignment report. Baugh wrote me a check for $98. They did not fixing the car which was bent. I finally file a BBB report, contacted Acura who recommend Baugh, but I believe the complaint was not dealt with.
On Aug 2015, I finally got someone to help me fix my bent car. They stated the car was bent and needed to me adjusted which they fix the problem but I had other issues with Progressive on the repairs that they did to my dented roof. After I got my car back, whenever it rain, water would leak inside the and on the rear curtain airbag. I had to yet again call Progressive several of times to fix the leaking roof. Progressive took the car to carpool and did a water test at one of their body shop, carpool which details cars said they count not find the leak and Progressive stated that it was fix. After I got the car back, that day it rain and guess what, it rain inside the car. There was a lot of water inside the car which cause the service airbag light to come on.
Progressive then had me take the car to Acura which they stated that they only run a water hose to find the leak. They could not find the leak. But an associate from Acura told me about a company called water Doctors that specialize in find leaks. After getting Progressive to pay for the service, Water Doctors came out and found the source of the leak in 5 mins. Water Doctors sent Progressive details how to fix the water leak from the roof which took them 3 months to fix the car so I had been in a rental for a total of 5 months. Once the roof was fix and the car was straighten, I drove the car home and two weeks later, the service airbags light came, the traction off, abs off, check hill start light and the car display a code VSA 66. I had to contact Progressive again and they gave me a hard time and did not want to fix the issues so finally the agent stated he would have Acura fix the car.
I scheduled an appointment on Monday. Then on Sunday I had an accident which the air bags did not deploy on impact, I had no traction, abs, and the VSA 66 code. I was not a fault for the accident but I blame Progressive because their agents were rude. Now I have another claim which happen on 12/13/2015. The car was a total loss. It's now 12/30/2015 I had to dispute the settlement amount because they left off several of features which I advised them of the features I had on the car. Every time I try to contact the agent who is helping with my claim, he never returns my calls. I have to call Progressive and have a phone agent IMH and let him know that I need to speak to him. Progressive is the worst insurance I ever had. I never do business with them again.

Progressive has by far the worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life! My agent is impossible to get in touch with and never returns my calls. In several weeks' time, there has been no progress on the investigation of my case. I spend over $1,000 a year on car insurance and have been ignored, hung up on, and redirected a million times because they are incapable of doing their job. I have been a customer of Progressive Insurance for over five years now. On November 24, 2015 I was involved in an automobile accident where another car pulled out in front of me. Thankfully, nobody was injured. However, my vehicle was not drivable, and here we are several weeks later, and my agent (Keith) and his supervisor (Robert) are impossible to get in touch with. On the evening of the incident, I gave my statement to my agent and provided him with the other driver's information, insurance, as well as claim number.
A week later, I was informed that the adjuster had not even been notified of my truck and would be another week out before he could come for his appraisal. I only made progress on this by going around my agent and having someone else notify the adjuster. My claim came back with just over $10,000 in damages. After another big fight of where I wanted to have my truck taken for repairs, I was finally able to get it to the shop. The auto body shop obviously did their own assessment and came up with an additional $1,200 in damages that were not included in the initial assessment. The auto body shop is now waiting for approval to even start repairs due to an airbag sensor module that they will not approve because they want the shop to complete all repairs, put everything back together, and then test the module to see if it's faulty. If it's faulty, they will have to then take the entire thing apart again to make the additional repairs.
In this waiting game, I have been trying to contact my agent to find out the status of the investigation as I have been left completely without a vehicle for this entire time. Apparently the hang up is that the other insurance company has contacted the witness, who has apparently withdrawn their statement. Interestingly, the witness was anonymous--so how they have contacted this person, I have no idea. I have called and tried to talk to another claim representative, who told me that they according to the notes, they are waiting to talk to the other driver.
So, several weeks later, they have not even taken the other driver's statement. When I asked to talk to this other representative's supervisor, she put me on hold and came back stating that her supervisor was unavailable, and hung up on me. I've called back again to try to find someone that would help me and got redirected back to Robert (my current agent's supervisor), who I'm now, yet again, waiting for him to call me back because he was "unavailable". I am shopping for new insurance and will never use Progressive again!

This happened recently enough that I don't know if my rates will increase post-claim. Either way, I appreciate her patience with me during a difficult time.

We are a small 1 truck transport business and Progressive insured our truck. Now after 2 years, never having a speeding ticket or an accident or even a major claim of any kind, they will not renew our policy. They say DOT has stopped us too many times. As a fledgling company they did indeed stop us, for things like: missing a 3rd orange triangle, fire extinguisher not mounted correctly, tie downs loose, rear lights wrong color, tires under pressure, etc. Now we were issued 2 violations in 2 years for tow lights not working properly and driving on shoulder with a flat tire. I guess the aforementioned are enough to cancel our policy. Hate to see what might have happened if we actually had to USE the insurance.

Yesterday, my son's car (which is on my auto insurance and roadside policy) died on Interstate 95 and it took over FOUR HOURS for the tow truck to arrive. The initial call to Progressive was at 1 pm and we finally got the tow truck to arrive at 5 pm. Fortunately, I baby-sat the car on the side of the road so nobody vandalized it and so that FHPs did not impound it. Progressive said (same as the tow guy) only 30 more minutes... EIGHT TIMES... I am switching out of Progressive at my first chance. Moral of the story - the customer does NOT matter for the big insurance companies. Even if you pay for roadside, they do NOT care one bit.

I did make use of their roadside assistance when I locked my keys in the car. And that did happen multiple times. What's the point of having roadside if you can't use it??? And I am shocked that is a reason to drop me. I will happily find other auto insurance. They can go to hell.

Poor Customer Service, management not willing to amend the situation in anyway. No respect for the consumer at all. As a result, I moved both my plow truck and motorcycle policies.

My insurance bill this month was twice what it normally was, so I called Progressive to inquire as to why this was. They explained it to me and it made sense, but I had no way of paying this amount all at once as it was close to $600. I asked if there was any way I could pay part now and part in two weeks, when I get paid, and I was told that that was impossible. The lady on the phone was rude, and unwilling to help me. When I asked to speak with a manager, she said that they wouldn't be able to do anything either. She said, "the only thing you can do is hope it doesn't get canceled before you can pay it."
Now, I can understand if there really isn't anything they can do to help me, but the lady was incredibly rude and treated me like scum that was trying to back out of a payment. During a previous phone call with the company, the lady I talked to was nice but didn't know what she was talking about. Highly unsatisfied with the customer service department.

This co., Progressive, uses independent agents, as I recall. These are not as closely associated to the actual insuring co. as directly affiliated agents. Since I own two unusual vehicles, I often need more assistance. I now use Farmers Ins. Co. Interestingly, their rates are very reasonable for both my everyday driver [Jeep Wrangler] , and our 1995 Morgan +8, and our 1997 Land Rover D90 AT [# 50/300]. Better shopping before a claim tends to keep the claim process smoother.
