I chose Progressive after researching many insurance companies because of price and easy online access for quote and everything. After 8 months I was offered a lower priced same Progressive insurance by a local Progressive agent, and so I called customer service on March 15th around 6:30 to cancel my policy with two cars that same day as I have started a new one already. 30 minutes later I called again and asked to schedule the cancellation of one of the cars in five days because I was selling it and didn't put it in the new policy but didn't want to be uncovered until sold. Even though I had to wait for 20 min to get someone on the line, it was all apparently easy.

Less than 24 hours later I found out the local agent only got me a lower price because he changed my name and marital status. So I called Progressive and informed them what happened and asked them to reinstate my policy as it was before, but only with one. The other car was being sold and had cancellation scheduled already. That was when my nightmare started: after that day it took me a week and 5 other calls to get Progressive to reinstate my insurance as it was. Every attendant seemed not to listen to what I was saying.

The first person I called reinstated my insurance but with an increase $$, didn't correct the marital status and had someone else listed in my policy. Second I notice through my Progressive app I had an $800 payment scheduled for the following month and there was still someone listed in my app. That is when I found out I was going to pay for two policies the following month, and beside that I was still paying for the two cars I had and not only one as I asked. Fourth time I found out they had finally reinstated my policy but had taken my rental reimbursement and roadside assistance out of coverage. It was very stressful, so many days, long hours of waiting.

The attendants seemed very nice at first but after few minute of conversation they all started with an attitude. They want to solve problems fast but don't really pay attention what is the client need. I asked to complain about it and that I wanted to write a review because I wanted people to know this. They told me they don't have any place for complaint or public review and said sorry and bye. I wonder what could happen had I and even serious problem to solve. As soon as I recover from this stress going to look for another Company. Starting by reading more reviews and customer rates on insurance companies. Tired of it.

This is an awful service! It lets you put in what amount you want to pay per month (I put in $100) and it didn't give me collision coverage on my new car. Being naive about insurance, as I think most people are, I clicked "agree" and now 2 years later, I have my very first accident and Progressive will not cover it! Nobody ever called to tell me this wasn't a good idea, so now I'm stuck with THOUSANDS of dollars in damages out of my own pocket. Thanks for nothing Progressive!

I was involved in a hit and run accident recently and I am covered by Progressive. The vehicle that hit me was insured by State Farm. After calling to file my claim through Progressive I was asked to pay a deductible and when Progressive can recover the damages I will be refunded. I am a bartender and a student who counts every penny. This accident was not my fault and I don't believe I should part ways with a sum of money I am not guaranteed to get back. After refusing to hand over the $750 the claims representative asked for another $75 to get the police report which is FREE. A few days later I get the report and send it over to her. A few days goes by and I hear nothing back so I send an email asking when I could expect something to happen. She kindly responds three days later telling me I should file the claim myself through State Farm.

I am not in the insurance business, but I believe I pay my premium for my insurance company to handle matters like this for me, simply to take the stress out of having an accident. I tried to file my own claim, but because this was a hit and run, I don't have the driver's name, only the license plate and VIN number to the vehicle. State Farm wouldn't process a claim for me without this information. I asked my Progressive representative to file the claim for me, she responds by saying "if you are so worried about your vehicle, pay the $750 deductible and file your claim through us." This is no help to me. I will no longer be a Progressive customer and I recommend looking somewhere else if you are thinking of becoming one.

Currently insuring two full covered vehicles and 1 liability vehicle. The policy has been a reasonable amount due to the coverage we receive. We were very pleased. Our 6 months was up and they gave us our new quote of our monthly payments and raised it by $140.00! We called to find out why, now we cover 3 vehicles, 3 drivers, none of us have had any tickets in the last 6 months, none of us have been in any accidents. We do everything ONLINE! They don't mail us bills anything. We haven't spoke to a rep.

Since we started the policy, we have NEVER been late on a payment. They tell us they raised it $140.00 a month to cover their charges to do claims in our area! We haven't moved in the last 6 months… Literally they raised our amount 140.00 for NO REASON other than they wanted to! So UNPLEASED! I will be switching companies soon, and still paying the amount what I would be paying staying with Progressive. Simple fact I'm not supporting their company cause of this poor service I've received! If there was a $40.00 dollar change whatever, but $140.00!? When we did NOTHING WRONG!

Talk about bad service. I was rear-ended recently and the at fault party has Progressive Insurance. Upon arrival I was told hello myself to the miniature snack bar until someone could help me. Progressive guarantees you're in and out in fifteen minutes. The process took over an hour. Moving on to the rental car, I have my paperwork that says the car has a full tank of gas. I didn't get two blocks away from the Progressive lot before I realized the gas gauge had a quarter of a tank.

I called back immediately to inform Progressive that the gas tank wasn't full and to note it. Lastly, a rep called to let us know that they would replace the rim that flew off in the air when my car was rear ended. When I when to pick up my vehicle, guess what was missing? Yes my rim was included in my repair. At least they cut me a check for $50.00 for my custom rim, for forgetting to put it on. All good. But I wouldn't recommend this insurance company, hopefully no one rear ends me with Progressive Insurance again. I'm sticking with Geico.

My wife was rear ended by another car back in jan 2016 who was at fault. It took till march to get their insurance to put my car into shop for repairs. After taking car to shop, adjuster insisted on using aftermarket parts to repair my new car, not OEM parts as they should. My repair shop called me before using the aftermarket parts and stated that they were not of good value and could also lower my car's value. Progressive insurance adjusters would not pay an additional 70.00 dollars for my car to be put back to factory condition and I was not even at fault for accident, in fact I was sitting at red light and got rear ended. I am a current progressive customer but will be shopping for new insurance because no insurance company should use cheap parts just to get by.

Luckily had a police officer right behind me to see everything! Regardless they are still only paying 80% of what they say my car is worth!!! WTF!!! I would not recommend them to anyone period. They tried to base the value of my car with the value of cars that had over 60k more miles and a rebuilt title!!! These guys are jokes. What a crappy insurance company.

The adjuster rescheduled for an entire week and finally on Friday afternoon examined the vehicle. I was told that the loss of income and time was "not their problem". They were uncooperative in providing a vehicle of like capacity. I have been in business for 30 years and never once would I dare tell a client it's "not our problem". After being involved in an automobile accident that I was not at fault, Progressive devalued my car and took advantage of this being my first accident. My insurance agent Courtney ** was such a stickler for telling me that my car was only worth less than 6k - that included all of the added values (window tint, automatic starter, HID lights, etc.) on a 09 Jeep compass. Even after showing the receipt for the $500.00 car starter that was less than 5 months new, she still only offered $100 in place of that. In the end I walked away with a $3 check from Progressive after a traumatic accident of being hit by a drunk driver.

These people are professional crooks after the money and they certainly do not care about you as a person, customers are numbers to them and that was made very clear. Of course they also wouldn't say anything about getting my policy adjusted for a car I no longer have - so guess who was charged for an insurance policy on a car that they took... Yeah. Terrible customer service and I will vouch for anyone looking for car insurance to not consider Progressive. They are the worst, expensive for no reason, do not compare in discounts and do not have your side in the incident of an accident.

I could have been talking to a robot during this claim. How in the world would one show up to the office to get questions answered and literally NO ONE could answer some questions? How? It was literally every other day they would call with bad news. They need to rebuild a team that focuses on customer satisfaction. We understand it's a business but no one in their right mind will want to do business with a shady ass company like Progressive.

I do not recommend this company to anyone! I am in tears right now. This company put me through hell the 7 years I was with them! The last 3 years being the worst. I have had 2 tickets and one minor accident with Progressive in 2013. Prior to that year, I only had a few tickets here and there, although no accidents! I still left this company paying 140.00 a month for liability. I felt like I was not appreciated as a customer. Horrible customer service and rates skyrocketed every month.

I recently filed a claim with Progressive, due to another vehicle being liable and backing into me in a parking lot. The claims representative did a horrible job helping me. She failed to return my calls, and failed to protect me as her customer and go after the liable insurer. It was a month before I called Progressive back wanting to know the status of my claim, so I can fix the bumper that was falling off of my car (from the other driver backing into me). The claim representative basically told me since I don't have full coverage I'm screwed, even though I was not liable. I also was the one who had to do all of the footwork and investigating.

My representative did nothing to help me on this matter. I eventually had to go obtain video surveillance myself to prove my innocence. The claim is still waiting to be viewed, while my representative is still delaying everything. Crazy! I decided I am not renewing my policy with this ridiculous company. I called up there today, just to explain to them my position, and just see how much my policy was, and I got into it with the gentleman that was suppose to be helping me. He was very rude and unhelpful! Please, please investigate this company before you get locked into a policy that will only harm you in the future! Remember, I was with them for 7 years and I was treated so poorly!! Best of luck to those who are looking for insurance, and if you find one that is satisfaction, please inform me because I am still inquiring.

Because I didn't stop in the middle of the intersection and sped up to avoid being hit broadside by the Progressive driver, I was found partially at fault. The Progressive agent said it would have been better if I had been hit in the drivers door and possibly killed. That's insurance company sense, not common sense. The policy options are ok however I would like more ways of being able to do things. Limited options not the best result. Another thing is that they can be pricey. Coverage is not the best. Horrible insurance company! My 2007 Toyota Corolla should have been totaled out. Horrible collision with frame damage. The car was worth $10,200. Original quote was $12,000 in repairs. Progressive made a deal with the auto repair company and they cut their labor rate $40 per hour bringing the repair bill to $7,000. I told Progressive I did not want my car repaired. I asked on 7 occasions to meet in person with an adjuster. They fixed my car and I never was allowed to meet with an adjuster. I did not want my car fixed as the frame was damaged and weakened. It was bent once in a wreck and a second time to straighten it. Not good, especially when your cargo is your children. Sold car for a massive loss so I could get a safe vehicle. So my 6 months are up and I call them to see how much of a discount I will receive. My profile showed I would get a 8% discount at renewal. My payment was to be around $110. Progressive explains to me that I no longer qualify for the new driver discount and my new monthly rate would be $155. Moving across country is stressful. Moving across country when your current insurance can't keep an appropriate driver history is even worse. I have been insured with Progressive since 2007 and as of this year, am trying to no longer be a "valued" customer. I have had 2 accidents in those 9 years, a handful of comprehensive claims (lived in Montana) and 2 or 3 roadside claims. The way they categorized my claims, including the ones I paid for out of pocket instead of utilizing their system, have made me ineligible to be insured by other companies despite NO POINTS on my record.

I suggest anyone thinking of switching to Progressive look at ANY other company. When attempting to deal with the errors on my report, I was met with steadfast opposition and horrendous customer service. Terrible rating. 1 out of 5 stars. The only thing in your favor is all of the claims reps I have ever dealt with were lovely people though you seem to have pretty high turnover.

I leased a new car the end of Aug 2015. Not even a month and a half later on my birthday, someone hit my car in a parking lot causing $3000 worth of damage to my back end. I was not present and at all, and of course, they didn't leave a note. The next day I took my car to one of Progressive's centers and dropped my car off to be repaired. They took great care of me, gave me a rental car, and I had my car back in less than a week. They marked the accident as "no fault" and I thought that was the end of it.

Next thing I know, my policy is up for renewal and they increased my rate by more than 35%. I call them, and at first the rep tells me my original rate was a one-time new policy discount for electronic signature. HUH??? I tell her that is ridiculous and there was nothing to indicate that was true. She then puts me on hold and confirms that they did indeed screw me in the behind because of the no fault accident in the parking lot where I was not present. Happy belated birthday present to me!!! I gave one star because I can't choose a lower rating. I was very disappointed by the way they handled my recent claim. I had an accident and I filed the claim the same day. I had to wait 2 weeks after that to get contacted with an investigator. We've discussed then and I sent him the documents he needed. After that, insurance asked me if they want to pay me directly or bring the car to a shop, I say "please pay the shop directly" so I let them choose a shop. The car stayed one week at the shop and they called me one week later saying that they will only pay for the left side damage and not the right side. I said that the right side is also related to the accident.

3 days later I get contacted by Steven ** requesting to re-investigate again and asking me for lot of documents (this last Progressive claim adjuster jumped in at the end of the process after more than a month and decided to reject the claim). I told him that the investigation was done 2 weeks ago and it wouldn't help him in any way determine if the right side was involved in the accident. Finally, because of this last Progressive employee, he decided to reject the claim for lack of cooperation (even if we've agreed before on the repairing) and I've been waiting about a month a half for nothing. I have rented a car and paid for that out of pocket. My car was towed to the shop and they refused to pay for anything at the end. Lot of money lost waiting and paying rentals. Very bad experience. No notification no reason. I had not been in a wreck it added anyone or anything to insurance. My bill went from 130 to 150 a month without reason. Progressive Insurance has very poor customer service, and it has absolutely no loyalty perks. We have been excellent auto insurance customers for over five years. We have paid on time and in full regularly because our payments were automatic through our bank. After our premium had changed there was a glitch and our bank sent the regular amount--about $30.00 less than full payment. They canceled our insurance and did not notify us immediately. They were rude on the phone and were unwilling to work with us to solve the problem. We are in the process of ending all of our insurance accounts with them, and we are finding a company with much better business practices.

Recently was the victim of a hit and run accident where a car came left of center and sideswiped me causing damage to the driver's mirror and broke the driver's window. The claims process went as easy as I have ever seen. Probably 35 years ago we had a different insurance company (State Farm) where there was a similar accident only with more damage. The claims process with State Farm was an absolute nightmare with delays, low-ball estimates and some pretty ridiculous statements from agents. We had them until about 7 years ago when we decided enough was enough. Progressive handled our claim promptly, professionally and kindly. They kept us informed throughout the repair process which was also professionally done. I wish I could give 10 stars because they deserve every bit of them.

It blows my mind that they actually lowered my payment on full coverage. I called to cancel my progressive policy and they asked why? My shop said they will no longer handle cars that are insured under Progressive or Geico, apparently they are just as bad. These people are criminals. After a person hit me that had their insurance company. Their driver ran a red light and then merged into my lane. After calling them they suddenly became incredibly rude and unprofessional. After denying the facts of the claim, which indicate that their insurer had ran the light they made no attempt to contact the officer that she admitted running the light to despite a police report explaining admittance. They refused to pay the claim. Their unprofessional attitude continued.

After seeing that they were trying to get out of paying the claim, I asked for a second review of the incident. Not only did I get denied twice they laughed at me. They told me the police report didn't matter. That this was a matter of differing opinions and it would be pointless to pursue further action. If you are in a similar circumstance please contact the BBB and Nebraska Department of insurance. Both have websites with fairly easy complaint processes. The people at this company do not deserve licenses.

I have been a Progressive member for the last 9 years, but because a AAA insured driver hit me, I was required to deal with them myself as I only had liability. It was a long journey as the AAA insurance company was very unhelpful as my car was destroyed and it was a multi vehicle accident.

Point being, my Progressive representative Stephanie ** was with me the whole time helping me with any questions and concerns that I had. It felt good having someone on my side, helping me through this long journey. Although, it has been over a month, and AAA has not paid me for my towing fees yet, I feel I can always call Stephanie for advice. I just wanted to say thanks to her, and let everyone know that not all insurance employees are trying to squeeze people.

During all this, I had the same car, a Camry that I'm still making payments on. I ended up having a wreck. I didn't see the guy, but since he hit me in the front, it's my fault. I call Progressive & they inform me that I don't have "collision" coverage. I was completely shocked!

I have never had a problem w/ signing up, making payments, etc, on their website. They could see that I had my lien holder listed, but still said I didn't have collision coverage. So, my car is now sitting in my front yard, I can't drive it & don't know what I'm gonna do. Anyone have any suggestions? After being involved in a vehicle accident in SEP 15 with a driver who was insured with a Progressive subsidiary company. I thought the claims process would go fairly smooth as the situation was pretty cut and dry. I was hit, the other driver admitted he struck my vehicle (both to the police and to Progressive). Thankful this individual was honorable and willing to admit his mistakes. I hold nothing against him for causing the accident. After all it was not a Purpo-dent. Progressive is a national company and I am sure they deal with claims every day. Well...

I spoke to his insurance representative who started out nothing but nice, letting me know they would get everything taken care of in a timely manner as their driver affirmed the story I had provided was true to the best of his knowledge (there were two minor discrepancies; he stated I was about 20 ft further ahead, and he thought I sped up in an effort to prevent him from merging). These were never brought up as the rep turned to the dark side, later informing me they would only cover 80% of the damages. The discrepancies above were never brought up as reason for Progressive to deny 100% responsibility, rather they said the reason they were only accepting 80% was because I did not "slam" on my breaks in heavy bumper to bumper traffic and I did not attempt to merge into the other lane. A steady break and the sound of a horn blasting was not enough.

In an email to the company representative, I clearly stated Progressive is throwing away ethics in an attempt to save the bottom line. This was never disputed by any of the individuals working for Progressive when I spoke to them. Progressive's answer for the other 20% was for me to file a claim with insurance company and they would pay 80% of my deductible (my deductible is $100). There was about $2,000 in damages, for them to attempt to escape with an $80 bill was not going to fly with me (Not to mention they were attempting to save about $400 dollars by making me cover the other 20%).

They attempted to tell me I was looking at this situation from a black and white standpoint and that this was not the case. When I asked how the situation was gray, they went back to me not breaking to my vehicle's full extent. Furthermore, I went to the trouble of researching all of the traffic laws pertaining to the situation I was involved in and found 0 which made me liable and four violations of the other driver. Progressive's response, "That is why we are willing to cover the damages at 80%." By now about a month or so had past and my vehicle had not been repaired and was not really safe to be driving based on several sharp edges on the wheel.

Finally, I came to the conclusion I was doing nothing but talking to a brick wall despite the evidence, laws and concurrent stories by both parties. I made the call to my insurance company explaining I needed to make a claim but I wanted Progressive to cover the damages. They explained they have a legal process they can go through if they felt there were grounds for reimbursement. My insurance company called and spoke to the other driver who provided them the same story he provided to Progressive (again admitting he was the one that struck my vehicle).

My insurance company eventually had to take them through a legal process where all of the information was presented (to include the entire email chain I had with Progressive laying out some of the things I have stated in this informational complaint I am providing you). Progressive strong-armed the matter for nearly 5 months before my insurance company called me to inform me everything was resolved and the courts found them 100% responsible. 5 MONTHS!!! Was this really worth $400, not to mention my insurance company's preferred repair company was actually more than the shop Progressive asked me to go to (which I was completely willing to work with). I would like to know how much money Progressive invested in resources to fight the initial $400 liability. However, this information will likely never be divulged to me.

My warning to you as an insurance consumer is to STAY AWAY FROM PROGRESSIVE! There is no telling how they will treat you as a client. In this case, they ended up dragging their client along and having them provide numerous statements as they did me which I am sure took away resources from insureds company. When he admitted it was his fault and was simply trying to have the matter resolved. I personally do not believe these penny pinchers would stand up for you as my insurance company did for me as they are more focused on their bottom line and the legal process would cost them additional resources (aka money) they are not willing to part with despite how wrong they are.

By the way I was parked when this happened in a designated parking spot. His ins company came to my home and took pics of my car that showed no damage at all. The other driver had some black paint from somewhere which he told his ins company I did. When they come to take pics they were confused because my car is white. Whhhhaaa go figure. Very annoying to say the least. This was the first time this happened to me since moving here three years ago. Well anyways car insurance states that you have at least 30 days to switch your policy to your new vehicle. The policy for your old car carries over. Our local branch told us everything was in order and claim would pay for damages to both cars.

I get a call days later from the Progressive claims office not our local branch saying they were not going to pay for damages to my vehicle. I went round and round with these people. I felt we were just a number and that they will do anything to get out of covering your claim. Funny how all their advertising states they are there for the customer. What a load of bull. What seems odd to me is the fact that they are rewarding the other driver for not looking out of the back window while backing out and having their music too loud to hear my horn to alert them that another car is right behind them as I get punished for not speeding my vehicle through a parking lot to get away from their client so they wouldn't be liable when I could have potentially hit a pedestrian or another vehicle. Worst insurance company I have ever dealt with. I would not recommend doing business with this company especially after the negligence I received from their claims department.

The double speak they use and the justifications for "customer error" instead of looking inward at "employee error" is amazing. I was told I have "stellar payment history" and yet after years of never lapsing in insurance, I all of a sudden missed payments? I work three jobs to keep me and my family afloat. Progressive, along with all car insurance companies have consumers over a barrel, we don't have a choice, we must PAY.

I am just completely dissatisfied with the attitude, the double speak, and the justification for double billing me twice in 4 months, due to an error on their part. The only way to deal with them is to spend extra time (that I do not have), go to the bank, find all payments made to them and justify my "claims". Not a fan, but am a law abiding citizen, so I will continue to carry insurance, but will be in the market for a better insurance company. A higher being is going to have to fight this battle for me as I am too busy with life to fight a corporate monger like Progressive.

Summary. I had some work done on my truck tires. A few weeks later the front driver side tire flew off my truck on the highway in Wyoming during winter. All the lugs were completely sheared off. I had full coverage through Progressive. Called immediately. Transferred twice. Disconnected. Called back. Waited 2 hours for a tow truck. I was 4 miles outside of Casper city limits. Then I got a call informing me that they didn't have an authorized tow agent, so I would have to pay that cost myself out of pocket. Then a heated discussion over where my vehicle should go. I was told if I didn't take it to their authorized service and repair center then I wouldn't get the discounts and full service needed. Umm. Ok. 425 dollars for a 6 mile tow. 4 hours later.

Next day I got a call from the adjuster. He listed all the things they were looking at. All seemed like it was going ok. 2 weeks later I get told if I would pay the discounted price out of pocket, then it would stay off of my insurance preventing rate hikes. But I was still getting first rate progressive service. Out of pocket costs? 789 dollars. To replace the rotor and rim only. I'm no mechanic but my tire flew off. Truck slammed down on the highway, bounced twice. Then slid over a hundred feet into the ditch. And that's all that's wrong? Adjuster assured me.

After work that night I paid and picked up my "ready to go vehicle". Except... ha. New rim was shoved in the back seat laying on my 700 dollar Stetson. Trash not mine was in the vehicle. They put the spare on. But I have a lift and oversized tires. No one checked bolts, shocks, struts, lift, fog lights, etc. No alignment or brake work done. I paid extra for a "spare" larger rim to fit my tires. Truck shook and rattled like a banshee. I immediately called to complain. And did so twice a day for the next week.

It took 9 days to get a call back where I was told that it wasn't done in my policy so it's not covered. I went ballistic. I was also extremely aggravated that my brand new tires were messed up due to being put on wrong. But Progressive refused to cover those. Stating several times it's not in their policy. Then I was told I would need to take time off of work and go talk to the repair shop myself. I do. Trucks dropped off again. 4 or 5 days later I get told that their shop isn't equipped to handle my large truck with its heavy front end and I would need to go to Toyota. So I paid for another tow to Toyota.

Four days later I get a call from their main service guy. He listed a long detailed things of what he'd seen and found. But the Progressive adjuster audited the list and told him what could and couldn't be repaired. Tires not included. Several days later, 600 dollars in repairs were made although 5600 dollars were listed initially. And Progressive listed over 3,000 in repairs online.

Brakes were still shot. There were actually rocks in the calipers! But not covered. Nothing on the stability or lift was repaired. Wiring was yanked out of the fig lights and left that way. Front covering between the tires and body and truck was pulled out and not replaced. All my chrome tire stem caps were replaced with black plastic. And suddenly the power steering pump needed to be replaced. It was full of sand and rocks. I had it pumped out. Serpentine belt suddenly had nicks. Truck veers to the left. Shakes at speeds between 55-75.

49 calls later I was finally put through to a supervisor. He seemed ok until I found out that after tons of more unanswered calls, the claim was suddenly closed. I called and emailed dozens of more times. Called the call center. Different agents. And for some reason I can't get anyone else willing to talk. No info, names, or numbers for other supervisors. Now Progressive is citing me for a bad credit report for having 47 dollars unpaid on my last payment. Ha. You think?!

To this day my truck is still damaged. And as a guy that works all over, I need reliable transportation. I've spent a lot of money making my truck nice. But I refuse to pay for repairs that were supposed to be covered. And denied and neglected by a "professional 19 year old adjuster"! I have receipts. Saved voicemails and there should be a hundred recorded conversations saved on Progressive's system.

The accident occurred in a very rural town population 65 with no paved roads and no stop signs. I was traveling south on main road at the edge of town and was hit by another vehicle traveling east on a side road. I was hit on the passenger rear side door and panel over the rear wheel. The driver admitted not seeing my vehicle and I didn't know the car was there until the collision occurred. And we exchanged insurance verification and personal information and pictures, in a friendly manner. A police report was not made because there were no injuries, Damage was minor on both cars and Weather was not an issue.

The driver that hit me had Progressive insurance from out of State and I have insurance, also from out of State with another well known insurance Company.

Both of drivers notified our respective insurance companies and initiated action to repair the damage. My Insurance company advised that it appeared that the other driver was at a fault and I should contact Progressive first. I contacted Progressive agent and was assigned an agent to handle the claim. The agent first indicated that they had certified body shop in my area and would proceed to arrange for repair quickly and I should deliver the car to the certified shop to get the repairs started.

Then things began to unravel. The progressive Agent apologized and said they would have to review the claim further but I should still take the car into the certified shop so that their Adjuster could see it. It seems that with Progressive, the body shop must come to an agreement with the progressive adjuster before they will authorize repair.

After review the adjuster authorized the repairs at a lowered value of $371.94 from the Original Body shop estimate of $2186.61. After further delay the claim agent apologized again and said repairs could not yet be authorized because the liability for the claim had not been determined. Subsequently I was advised by the Progressive Claim agent that the claim was denied because they had determined that both drivers were at fault because neither acknowledged seeing the other and the determination of liability was not negotiable.

My only option at this point was to reinstate my claim with my own insurance company and pay my $500 deductible. My insurance company immediately authorized the repairs to be done at the same facility suggested by Progressive and transferred funds based on the original body shop estimate to my checking account within 24 hr.

My complaint is twofold: 1. The Progressive Claim Agents and Adjusters apparently are not empowered to make decisions on their own, and must somehow constantly refer to some higher internal authority before any final action is taken. 2. It seems to me that conventional rules of the road have been twisted in favor of Progressive instead of a fair disposition of the claim with virtually no opportunity for input by the claimant. Whatever happened to the universal rule that says: Drivers entering a road from a driveway, alley, or roadside must yield to vehicles already on the main road.

I took my car to BMW of Austin to get service. The service person crashed the car while test driving, causing major damage. Progressive was the insurance carrier and refused to pay for the damage, refused to examine the crash scene, the car, even the photos of the damage, the curb impact, and skid marks. The Progressive adjustor, was the most arrogant, and "in denial" professional I have ever dealt with. It seems that what I experienced was standard procedure... to ignore evidence, deny the police report, ignore their legal responsibilities, and tell their victims, "tough luck!"

The car sat for 2 months without Progressive doing anything at all! Finally I talked to my insurance and they repaired it for over $10,000. They were not the ones responsible. Hooray for State Farm, my insurance that doesn't play these games. Progressive mistreats the people they are responsible for, ignores their responsibilities, and tells you that there is NO ONE you can go to within Progressive to complain, or get someone to look at evidence, or treat some respectfully.

My good company explained that this is often "standard procedure" for many bad insurance companies. Deny responsibility, in spite police report and the fact that "I was not even there", the car was BMW of Austin responsibility and in their hands. Somehow they blame me? Then don't call to inform me? Until well after the collision, after they haul the car away, try to hide damage and erase the evidence to the best of their abilities. Regressive Insurance should be their name.

I don't know where to begin. I had my same insurance carrier for about 5 years. I get a solicitation from Progressive and decide to give them a try. I go online and receive an unbelievable quote and decide to make the switch, so I submit my info, my policy comes back approved from underwriting but with approximately a $200 increase in the 6-month premium. I figure it's okay, for the amount of coverage am getting it's still okay. I also try to purchase renters insurance to qualify for their discount, however am notified later that I do not qualify for any additional discounts. OK whatever. I decide to move forward with the auto policy only. A few days go by and I get my paperwork and it list only 1 vehicle, not 2 vehicles as I originally had entered. I call Progressive and the representative tells me that my premium will nearly double by adding the 2nd vehicle!!

Now remember, I entered 2 vehicles when I got a quote. The person that called me a day later to go over the coverages confirmed 2 vehicles, but my cards only have one vehicle listed!!! And adding the 2nd will double my already increased premium. I spoke to Progressive again demanding an explanation, they try to tell me that I only entered one vehicle in my initial quote. I told them that I worked as an insurance agent for 5 years and I know what am doing. I entered 2 vehicles, my original quote was for 2 vehicles, and the person that called me a day later to go over coverage even confirmed 2 vehicles!! How I wish I could turn back the hands of time.

Horrible experience, incompetent underwriting, false advertising regarding additional discounts when you buy renters insurance, etc. Stay away from these clowns there are way better insurance companies out there. Am in the process of switching back to my old carrier and giving them one big apology for leaving them. That's my story and I hope it helps anyone out there make an informed decision before buying insurance from these people.

On December 28, 2015 we incurred a tire blow out on our Progressive insured travel trailer and called Progressive Road Side Assistance at 10:22 AM. We were on the shoulder of I 95 south of Savannah Georgia. The Highway was very busy and a truck and a car even came onto the shoulder and almost side swiped us

which made the situation even more frightful. Progressive's lack of response extremely frustrating and stressful.

Initial contact person indicated they were busy but to stay online and we would be helped. We expressed concern that call may timeout or get dropped and she assured me if that happened they would call us back. We provided my cell phone and wife's cell phone number. While on hold for 20 minutes we placed a concurrent call from wife's phone at 10:41 AM and were told to stay with our initial "hold" call as they would definitely get to us. At 11:17 while still on hold (my phone up to 55 minutes at this point) we called progressive again from wife's phone and asked if we could just get assistance through "911" and send Progressive the bill. After about 5 minutes of checking we were told we could. We contacted All Towing, Inc of Richmond Hill Georgia. They were out in less than 30 minutes and changed our tire for us.

A Georgia State Trooper checked on us a little earlier and confirmed how dangerous it is to be off on shoulder as I95 very busy there and inattentive drivers cause accidents. My wife was in tears until the tow truck arrived. To make matters worse, the extra delay caused by our wait for Progressive help that never came caused us to spend an additional night on the road home as we did not feel safe driving after dark. My cell phone records show that our initial call at 10:22 ended after 94 minutes. Not only did Progressive drop the call but they never made any attempt to get back with us after the call was dropped as they had promised.

We are cancelling all of our policies with Progressive and plan to invest time via internet etc. to warn prospective and existing Progressive Clients of the extreme lack of customer care afforded by Progressive when we needed it most. In fact we opened a complaint case with Progressive on 1/5/16 via email and on 1/8/16 via phone call. We were assigned case number ** and I was assured a rep named Kinshasa would call me on 1/8/2016. Today is 1/15/2016 and I have not heard a word from anyone at Progressive. That is a shame as I wanted to share our experience with someone at Progressive who is in a position of responsibility for this understaffing? Incompetence? Procedural deficiency? Mismanagement? Etc.

Apparently Progressive Insurance is like the Hotel California you can get a policy but you can't check out!!! I have talked with 4 representatives today alone. I hope not refer to them as customer service representatives, for several reasons: 1. I have received no help. 2. I still have and I am paying for a policy on a vehicle that has been recycled as of Dec. 2015. 3. The last Progressive representative told me she didn't care where I got my next insurance policy. I bought a car last year and left Geico for Progressive. What a mistake. Progressive was full of miscommunications from the start. They told me I could chose the date that my account would debited except when I tried to call to do so, they informed me that my state has a law that says that I can't... Um no they don't! Every other insurance company I contacted about this didn't know what I was talking about. Then when I purchased another car I decided I no longer wanted to use Progressive anymore so I went to cancel. I had made a $136 payment 9 days prior to cancellation so I was expecting part of that money back!

Even the lady on the phone told me I would receive a refund but in order to do so I had to email a notice of cancellation. I could not do it over the phone. ANOTHER UNHEARD OF METHOD!! When I sent in the email of cancellation I received a response back telling me that I had a due balance of $17! I responded with "How could this be I just made a payment and I should receive money back". Again I received some bull crap about their policies in which I have never heard of from any agency!

"When we cancel a policy, the premium is divided into two categories: the cost for the period it was active and the cost associated with the period it was not active. We earn the cost of the policy for the active period and certain percent of the non-active period. This is earned because we processed the policy with the expectation that it would run its full term. It did not run its full term because of the cancellation. This is why there is a balance owed on the policy. I apologize that this was not included in the previous email." Will not be referring any one to this insurance agency. EVER!

I left my previous insurance company of over 12 years to give Progressive a try. I regret it after only 2 months. My car was struck by road raging driver who refused to stop after he hit my car. My pregnant wife and a toddler were in the car. We took photos of the car that struck us and his license plate, called the police, and went to the station to file a report immediately after. I even have video of me approaching the other vehicle telling the driver he struck my car and then him driving off. The police investigation is still ongoing and yet the Progressive claims department told me that the other driver sent photos of his car with no damage on it so the case is closed as far as they are concerned. To add insult to injury the claims rep told me that it's "not a hit and run" and they don't know how my car was damaged--basically calling me a liar and said that they won't cover the deductible.

The police accident investigator said that I did everything I was supposed to do, putting the other vehicle at the scene with photos and videos, to have the insurance company go after the other driver. Having the other driver send his own photos is insufficient to say no damage was done to my car at the scene, because how does one know if it's even his car that he took photos of and when it was actually taken? The police investigator went on to say someone couldn't taken my mirror off and no damage would appear on their car--that doesn't discount the fact that an accident didn't happen at all.

The police has now charged the other driver with misdemeanor hit and run. All while Progressive still is denying my claim. So I'll fix the car on my own dime. I don't need this insurance company, I just cancelled. They didn't even bother trying to help their customer to save a few hundred bucks while they could've had a loyal auto and home customer for another 10 years. Stay away folks. I have documentation of my last payment made to Progressive and my first payment to a new better insurance company. Progressive insists they emailed and mailed me a closing bill.

I offered to pay the bill in return for removing the collection from my credit report. This seemed fair, since I do not believe I owe the bill but would pay to have it removed from credit report. Progressive politely declined. In which case, I have absolutely no incentive to pay a bill I do not owe. My 2014 Chevy Impala was involved in an accident on September 8, 2015. Initially I was told by the agent my car would probably be totaled if the damage was $24.000 or over. Within two weeks I was told it had to be totaled at $27.000 because when the dealership (Ray Skillman) estimated the cost it had reached the $24.000 estimated cost. My car was at Ray Skillman Collision Center for over 3 months and now the cost of repairs have exceeded the $27.000. My husband & myself has ask the adjuster to total this car but now he says the cost has to be about $8.000 more dollars. I feel he made a mistake in getting the car repaired. It was underestimated and now I have to suffer the consequences of my automobile being involved in a front end collision because both (insurance adjuster & Ray Skillman) underestimated the repair to my vehicle.

The same day I picked the car which was December 23 the engine light came on. Took car back collision center. Replaced a part. Said it was fixed. Drive home and within an hr the engine light came on. The paint job to car has ripples and swirls, and I'm taking it back to Ray Skillman again. All of this could have been avoided if the agent did his job correctly. Now I'm stuck with a car that isn't what I am paying for. And by the way, the accident was NOT my fault. I'm hoping that someone with authority at Progressive will do the right thing and total the car.

I bought a new car and wanted to add it to my policy and they were going to charge me over 200 a month for my new car which is a Mazda, nothing fancy or crazy fast. This seemed way too steep for me so I did a little research; other companies quoted me at 112 with better coverage and roadside assistance and a rental car if I need one.

I called to tell them I was cancelling because of the difference and because I was never informed of my rate increases and was told the first time that they didn't have to inform me by law that my rate increased and the second time that they did email me that info, I just must not have seen it. I have been with Progressive since 2013. Whenever I had to file a claim, the claim agent never returns my calls nor even ask my emails. I had an hit and run accident on May 2015 which left my car disable on the side of the interstate. The car was towed to the tow shop parking lot. I took pictures of the damage to my car which the damage was to the front passenger side. After advising Progressive where I want to have my car sent to, they paid for the towing and delivered the car to Baugh Auto Body in Richmond, VA. Baugh has had to repair my car a few times so they knew the history of car. After waiting nearly 3 months, my car appeared to be fix, so I picked it up. I drove it home and the next day I discover that the car had several large dents in the roof of my car. Baugh knew that this was not previous damage but the claim rep. said it was previous damage and I would have to file another claim. Which I did.

However I found more problems with my car. The front bumper and headlights did not align up. I brought this to Baugh the body shop and tried to contact Kevin who was the adjustor who I tried to explain to him that this car was not properly fix. Kevin ** from Progressive was rude and never answered my call or emails. When I drive my car, the noise came from the front wheels and I took it to Acura to have them find out what deal was. Acura stated that my tires were cupping and wearing fast. I had purchased new tires and had the body shop install and do an alignment on the car. After Acura said need to align, after have the car for a couple weeks, I took the car to Goodyear and had then do a free alignment check which the car was still bent and never repaired.

There were other issues. The air bag light would turn off the passenger air bag. I tried to get Baugh and Progressive to fix this issues. They were no help so I took the car to Acura and they adjusted the passenger seat indicator for the air bag. I contacting Progressive again and advises them of the car being bent and after 7 months they agreed to fix the car. Baugh auto body stated that they would never touch my car again because of SIU got involve because of an survey I took.

Kelly ** from Baugh and the owner were no help. They even put the wrong rocker molding on my car. I had to fight to get the correct part. They also would not fix the front bumper and headlight so they stated that repairs were done correctly but that not turn after Goodyear confirm the car was bent from the alignment report. Baugh wrote me a check for $98. They did not fixing the car which was bent. I finally file a BBB report, contacted Acura who recommend Baugh, but I believe the complaint was not dealt with.

On Aug 2015, I finally got someone to help me fix my bent car. They stated the car was bent and needed to me adjusted which they fix the problem but I had other issues with Progressive on the repairs that they did to my dented roof. After I got my car back, whenever it rain, water would leak inside the and on the rear curtain airbag. I had to yet again call Progressive several of times to fix the leaking roof. Progressive took the car to carpool and did a water test at one of their body shop, carpool which details cars said they count not find the leak and Progressive stated that it was fix. After I got the car back, that day it rain and guess what, it rain inside the car. There was a lot of water inside the car which cause the service airbag light to come on.

Progressive then had me take the car to Acura which they stated that they only run a water hose to find the leak. They could not find the leak. But an associate from Acura told me about a company called water Doctors that specialize in find leaks. After getting Progressive to pay for the service, Water Doctors came out and found the source of the leak in 5 mins. Water Doctors sent Progressive details how to fix the water leak from the roof which took them 3 months to fix the car so I had been in a rental for a total of 5 months. Once the roof was fix and the car was straighten, I drove the car home and two weeks later, the service airbags light came, the traction off, abs off, check hill start light and the car display a code VSA 66. I had to contact Progressive again and they gave me a hard time and did not want to fix the issues so finally the agent stated he would have Acura fix the car.

I scheduled an appointment on Monday. Then on Sunday I had an accident which the air bags did not deploy on impact, I had no traction, abs, and the VSA 66 code. I was not a fault for the accident but I blame Progressive because their agents were rude. Now I have another claim which happen on 12/13/2015. The car was a total loss. It's now 12/30/2015 I had to dispute the settlement amount because they left off several of features which I advised them of the features I had on the car. Every time I try to contact the agent who is helping with my claim, he never returns my calls. I have to call Progressive and have a phone agent IMH and let him know that I need to speak to him. Progressive is the worst insurance I ever had. I never do business with them again.

Progressive has by far the worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life! My agent is impossible to get in touch with and never returns my calls. In several weeks' time, there has been no progress on the investigation of my case. I spend over $1,000 a year on car insurance and have been ignored, hung up on, and redirected a million times because they are incapable of doing their job. I have been a customer of Progressive Insurance for over five years now. On November 24, 2015 I was involved in an automobile accident where another car pulled out in front of me. Thankfully, nobody was injured. However, my vehicle was not drivable, and here we are several weeks later, and my agent (Keith) and his supervisor (Robert) are impossible to get in touch with. On the evening of the incident, I gave my statement to my agent and provided him with the other driver's information, insurance, as well as claim number.

A week later, I was informed that the adjuster had not even been notified of my truck and would be another week out before he could come for his appraisal. I only made progress on this by going around my agent and having someone else notify the adjuster. My claim came back with just over $10,000 in damages. After another big fight of where I wanted to have my truck taken for repairs, I was finally able to get it to the shop. The auto body shop obviously did their own assessment and came up with an additional $1,200 in damages that were not included in the initial assessment. The auto body shop is now waiting for approval to even start repairs due to an airbag sensor module that they will not approve because they want the shop to complete all repairs, put everything back together, and then test the module to see if it's faulty. If it's faulty, they will have to then take the entire thing apart again to make the additional repairs.

In this waiting game, I have been trying to contact my agent to find out the status of the investigation as I have been left completely without a vehicle for this entire time. Apparently the hang up is that the other insurance company has contacted the witness, who has apparently withdrawn their statement. Interestingly, the witness was anonymous--so how they have contacted this person, I have no idea. I have called and tried to talk to another claim representative, who told me that they according to the notes, they are waiting to talk to the other driver.

So, several weeks later, they have not even taken the other driver's statement. When I asked to talk to this other representative's supervisor, she put me on hold and came back stating that her supervisor was unavailable, and hung up on me. I've called back again to try to find someone that would help me and got redirected back to Robert (my current agent's supervisor), who I'm now, yet again, waiting for him to call me back because he was "unavailable". I am shopping for new insurance and will never use Progressive again!

After I was told that, I reviewed my policy that stated it will be covered for 30 days. I advised Hertz I was working on getting them to pay the full 30 days as my policy states. I could not get a response from Progressive. I kept the car over 30 days knowing I will have to pay for anything more than 30. I did speak to claims and they said they called Hertz. I returned the car today at over 900 dollars. Progressive is refusing to pay saying they advised 7 days. I could not get anyone to return my call. Progressive needs to honor my policy. On top of that, I have asked them for 2 months to stop billing me for my insurance because my car was totaled and the only one on the policy. They keep charging me and refuses to reimburse me... The customer service representative then said that there is nothing they can do. They are not willing to accommodate for someone in the military at all! It was a really misunderstanding and so confusing. However, I called and asked them the reason of this increase and the lady said it was because I didn't sign two forms of their policies. I asked her no one has ever told me to sign these forms. Conclusion, they made me the 366 even after I sent the forms that they asked for. They are unprofessional! Once, my dad hit a neighbor's car from back out from our parking lot. It was about $1000 to $2000 of damage. GUESS what? They increased my rate of (close to $300) for 6 month premium! I called them and guess what they said? They said it does not matter how minor the car accident is, the increase is the same! I had to switch to Geico which was $300 cheaper than them for better policy. It's a shame that I was with Progressive for over 5 years without a single claim or car accident and they screwed us up just because of a single minor car accident!

I had multiple calls with her and she never got frustrated with my questions and never made me feel that I was wasting her time.

Once I made my decision to keep the car, she once again went out of her way, physically driving to me to exchange the title and my check since I had no transportation. Their rates are better than State Farm, which was my previous insurance company, and their customer service in my experience has been absolutely stellar. Now after 2 years, never having a speeding ticket or an accident or even a major claim of any kind, they will not renew our policy. They say DOT has stopped us too many times. As a fledgling company they did indeed stop us, for things like: missing a 3rd orange triangle, fire extinguisher not mounted correctly, tie downs loose, rear lights wrong color, tires under pressure, etc. Now we were issued 2 violations in 2 years for tow lights not working properly and driving on shoulder with a flat tire. I live in a bad part of town and a popular crime here is syphoning gasoline, along with theft. My truck was keyed and scratched from nose to tail. It had squiggles, letters, and intentional damage.

When I filed a claim, they treated me as if I was making the whole thing up and told me that it was wear and tear. Would only cover a scratch on the tailgate. The claims handlers became rude, stubborn, and not listening to anything that you had to say. Even when they spoke to the auto body man that had just repaired and painted it two years beforehand. Needless to say my vehicle was not fixed and I have to pay for the repairs out of my own pocket. In addition to my rate increasing.

I had a policy for just myself with one car and added my daughter when she got her permit in July 2015. My monthly premium was $116 and they assured me that my rates would not change until she got her actual license. Forward to October when the policy renewed. They sent me a bill for $225. I paid it without question, thinking it was more because it was the first installment of the new policy. (Yes, they did send me out the new policy, which I should have read more thoroughly and seen the change right away.)

Then November's bill comes for $215, so I call them. Apparently, they are now charging me for her as a LICENSED driver because she is now over 19. (They did this rate change in October, even though she didn't turn 19 until November 5th.) So they expected me to pay for a licensed driver for FOUR months when she wasn't, simply because of her age change at some time during the six month policy, even though she doesn't get her license until January. They refused to fix the rates or reimburse me for paying over $100 extra for a licensed driver in October that didn't exist, so I told them to cancel the policy. Geico gave me a lower rate AND didn't charge me for my daughter with only a permit, regardless of her age.

Progressive Insurance should be ashamed that it trains it's Claim Agents to make decisions on claims before all details are received like the police report. The claim agent I spoke to took my statement and then changed everything I said to fit his decision even completely turning around my words. He made up his mind on the verdict of the claim before he even spoke to me and then wouldn't listen to any further explanation. He even said that the police report doesn't determine cause and the fact that the other driver claimed fault doesn't determine the cause. He was able to make that determination by sitting in a cubicle. So many positive reviews address the cost but most of the policy holders haven't filed a claim. I'm very disappointed in Progressive's claim policy and will never recommend them to anyone.

    Updated review: Dec. 3, 2015

Since my review, the company has totaled out my vehicle and we have reached an amicable settlement.

    Original Review: Nov. 16, 2015

On October 31, 2015, I was hit by someone making an unprotected left turn. The light was green for me, and he was waiting to make a left. As soon as I entered the intersection, he turned, hitting me and two other cars. The airbag on my steering wheel deployed, and my car was undrivable. I couldn't even shift to park, and I had to let the car idle. My car is a 2016 Honda Accord with approximately 755 miles and only 5 weeks old.

A police officer came right away and collected everyone's insurance information and driver's licenses. The driver who hit everyone, whose initials are AF, seemed agitated, and once he got on the curb with everyone else, began speaking to a bystander in English, and once he spotted me, he switched over to Spanish. From what I could make out, he was trying to tell witnesses, as well as the driver of one of the vehicles he hit, that I was driving too fast and it was my fault.

I called my insurance company to notify them right way. I never got to exchange insurance information with AF because the police officer took so long to give our documents back, I didn't know whether AF had left. An hour later, I called my insurance company, Progressive, and they pressured me to decide right then whether to file through them or file through AF's insurance company, and kept saying the decision was permanent. I was still in shock, and since my car was sitting in a tow yard in Plano, I wanted to move forward asap. The other insurance company was also closed until Monday anyway. So, I filed a claim through my insurance company.

At some point, Progressive received the accident report and determined liability to lie 100% with AF. But my claims adjustor went on vacation the day liability was determined, Wednesday, and I didn't even know until I called Progressive on Saturday, but I will discuss that phone conversation later. I was told that same week that because of the extensive damage on my vehicle, it would undergo a total loss evaluation. The damages were at 60% of the ACV. On Friday, I was told that they were $7,000 short of totaling out my vehicle, and my repair rep had given the body shop the go ahead to start dismantling my car to examine whether there was additional damage.

Saturday, I called to ask for the status of liability and to get information about the valuation of my car. I was told liability was determined on Wednesday, and they transferred me to the total loss department for the valuation. Well, once I got on the phone with someone at the total loss department, she said she would email me the valuation report (she never did), then she went on and on about how I needed to find God, how I needed to pray, how grateful I should be that I wasn't injured, and how grateful I am that I can just go out and buy a new car. (1) For anyone involved in a car accident, you want a personal injury claim because that's where you can profit; (2) I am not religious and I am offended by any lectures on religion; and (3) I told her I was trying to buy a new car but Progressive wouldn't let me, and she was speechless for once. I was so frustrated, I started crying on the phone, and she said she would pray for me.

I called Progressive on Monday to ask whether my claims adjustor had made any attempt to reach out to the other insurance company. Since she was on vacation, I spoke to her supervisor who said they had not, and had me hold while she attempted to call them on the other line. She was unsuccessful after 30 minutes, and said she would try again the next day. Unsatisfied with that, I spent 2 hours trying to get ahold of someone. I finally did, and I was able to file a claim. I then forwarded that information to my claims adjustor's supervisor, who said she would follow-up the next day. I tried calling the woman assigned as my claims adjustor ("CB"), but her line went straight to voicemail the entire day despite her message stating that her regular working hours were 7:30 - 5 PM PT Monday - Friday.

I called CB Tuesday and finally got ahold of her, then forwarded that information to my claims adjustor's supervisor. When I called Thursday to complain about the delay in moving this claim forward, my claims adjustor's supervisor called to apologize and say that they were attempting to find the fax number for the other insurance company, so they could fax the accident report. I checked today, and they finally faxed it at 4:30 PM on Friday.

That isn't my biggest grief. A part of my biggest grief is the fact that they wanted me to take my car to their network shop. But they refused to tell me the name or address of the shop. They just wanted me to trust them blindly. I said no because my car is so new, and I chose a Honda certified body shop. Well, now, I don't get a warranty for the work besides the one given by the shop (lifetime for paint and body, no warranty for anything else). The problem is that there are a lot of safety features that need to be replaced (lane detection, steering, braking, etc. ), so I don't care about the paint and body. That's not my biggest problem. And I would have felt more comfortable using their network shop if I could research the place first, but they wouldn't reveal that information, so I didn't feel right having my car towed to some shop I knew nothing about. I also worried about voiding my warranty.

What I am most upset about is that they won't total out the car. There is over $18,00 worth of damage. That was calculated based on the cost of repairing the vehicle, the towing charges, and the 30 day rental charges Progressive is paying. However, that number does not account for diminished value or the additional 14-30 days I'll be paying for a rental out-of-pocket because the repair estimate is 6-8 weeks. I had already delayed getting a rental for 10 days, but they didn't give the body shop the go ahead to repair the car until 24 hours after I picked up the rental.

They kept saying they don't ever have to pay diminished value, so they don't include that in the damages. But in reality, if AF had been an underinsured or uninsured motorist, I would most definitely have a claim for that against Progressive. So, that's wrong, and a misrepresentation of my insurance policy. It is also most definitely a part of calculating damages because if you are repairing my vehicle to its pre-accident condition, then its diminished value and all rental fees incurred as a result of the accident are an essential part of making me whole again. They also tried to use remanufactured 2015 parts on my brand new 2016 car, and claimed the salvage value of my car was $5,000. If the car is worth less than 18% of its ACV after this accident, how can you seriously tell me the car can be restored to its pre-accident condition?

The customer service has been good and bad. The religious lady was bad. But I did speak to two other agents who were nice. I spoke to a gentleman today who was arguing with me that liability hadn't been determined yet, telling me if I could go back in time, I should've chosen a network body shop, and being condescending when I know what's been happening in my case and he doesn't. (1) Liability was determined two weeks ago and says that on my claims page and (2) if I could go back in time, I would do a lot of things differently, such as get a different insurance provider, so let's not get into that.

I had the smoothest experience, it was easy and painless. It firmly cemented that we would keep them for years to come, as they are incredible to work with even in the times of crises.
