This company is the worst I have ever had! After my car was repossessed and sold at an auction and transferred across the entire country I had to track my old car down myself because they reported me to Motor Vehicle Dept. for not having insurance and expired registration which was inside the car! And not returning my plates! The bank repossessed it and it was registered and insured by a completely different state but I was getting suspended because of them.

They caused unnecessary problems for me financially for revenge for not going back to the same insurance company because I let the bank repossess my Gucci Fiat because the KBB value of the car was poor even though it was a limited edition. Instead I got a Maserati and went for the cheapest insurance which in NJ is Geico. Luckily I was able to use CarFax to find it because I had a old insurance card with the vin number but I still had to hire a private investigator for my registration card not to be suspended in my state. Ridiculous!

I just finished getting multiple discounts on my premiums. A "fender bender" in a parking lot wiped them all out and doubled my next premium. I will be looking for a better rate through other companies. But filing my claim was done quickly, easily, and with great personalized service. It was seamless. Service reps took care of everything and my repairs were great.

Bundling? More like bungling. Called Progressive to take advantage of bundling my home/auto. Was given a quote as to my savings on my auto. Sounded like a good deal. They promised a lower homeowner premium and $10 every 6 months on my auto. When I got to the auto, they changed it to saving me $6 every 6 months. By the time I got to the bottom line, they saved me $2. They are an inept bunch of liars. Save yourself a bundle of time and shop someplace where they can be honest.

All consumers PLEASE READ THIS! I am the most dissatisfied customer EVER! This and maybe ALL companies are scams! I can only speak on this scamming company because I WAS a customer but I am glad I'm not anymore. So my first payment was returned to me because of an error with the routing number. I fixed that issue. I bought the insurance April 10. On April 21 I was rear ended. I made a claim with my company. Long story short, I received a cancellation in the mail because of 2 reasons. 1, the payment issue WHICH I did fix and 2, the claim that was made within the 30 days. I spoke to a woman and basically there was nothing I can do. They NEVER told me about the claim within 30 days thing. These ** took my money and I will NEVER get PROGRESSIVE AGAIN!

Progressive insurance and their claims representatives have been extremely challenging to work with to the point where some clients like myself have had to contact the department of insurance to file a claim against them. Progressive has been challenging to work with as their total loss appraisal methodology is flawed. There is currently a class action lawsuit pending regarding their tactics. Consumers should not always purchase insurance just because of the rates. Yes Flo and her rate tool are catchy gimmick's however at the end of the day when you have to file a claim that is the most important part of having insurance & my experience has been that Progressive will not compensate you for the value of your total loss.

My car got hail damage on May 8, 2017. My 2 side mirrors are broken, it will cost me about $1000 because has heated mirrors etc. It's a safety issue but they didn't want to give me the money to fix it. They gave me a "bogus check" that I couldn't cash it to at least help me buy the mirrors. Find a different insurance company, this company only want your money but don't want to help you in a time needed. Very disappointing.

We called the claim in, the tow truck picked up our vehicle and took it to a local reputable collision shop. Repairs were made. Progressive paid the shop. Claim complete. I have NEVER had a problem that they weren't able to solve without complications. Customer Service (in policy services and claims) are both extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Their online services are easy and fast. As I have worked in the insurance industry, I can attest that Progressive is WAY above average in regards to service, friendliness, claims handling and ease of online use. Policy holders are able to view or print documents, ID Cards, Billing, Claims etc. Their offices are also open 24/7. Over the years, we have unfortunately had Comprehensive (Deer, Glass), Towing and Collision (PD due to icy roads) losses.

Progressive would only pay what their adjuster quoted. Also, both repair shops quoted 3 day repair. Progressive would only allow car rental reimbursement at their discounted rate. A hundred emails and hours spent driving to places to meet their requests and I'm stuck with Progressive telling me where to fix and how much they will pay. I have been with Progressive for over ten yrs. I have had two accident. I got rear ended. The second accident was my husband. He was pulling our 40 ft RV. Didn't make a wide enough turn and hit a park car. Totally our fault. They treated us decent and repaired everything. Of course since at fault accident our rates went up some. But called around they were still the cheapest around. Because if pay for 6 months you get a discount and that's usually 80.00 to 100.00. If you have a problem with anything you call Progressive and they help you work thru the issue. They take care of everything. They give you the option to have the vehicle fix where you want it fixed. Then they pay everything except your deductible. After you go thru the questions of what happened even if it's your fault they treat you the same way.

On Christmas Eve 2016 my car was hit parked on the street out front of my house. From the very start of my claim I was treated as if I was only trying to collect a check. After I confirmed that I was going to actually have my car fixed. They are now claiming that my car was hit twice while parked. They are telling me that a tree had fallen on my car and someone backed into as well. They have made this into 2 separate claims. With 2 deductibles. Their interpretation of what happened is impossible. A tree could not have fallen on my car with where it was parked and there is no evidence that any tree had fallen on my street. It does look like a truck with a load of brush on it backed into my car. Progressive's staff has been argumentative and unwilling to work with me. No one from Progressive has even come out to my house to see where the accident happened. If they had. They would see that a tree could not have fallen on my car.

I filed a complaint with the insurance commissioner. Their response was to call my insurance broker and talk ** about me. They told my broker that they are going to drag this out until my rental reimbursement runs out. They also went on to tell my broker that my filing a complaint with the insurance commissioner will do nothing, that the I.C. cannot make them do anything. All my filing a complaint did was piss them off. My car being hit while parked is exactly why one has insurance. Progressive does not take care of their customers. They do not provide the peace of mind knowing you do have insurance. All Progressive does is give you a hard time and inconsistent answers. Them running my 1 accident as 2 claims shows that all they want is more money by making you pay 2 deductibles for 1 accident. No one there is willing to work with me on this.

I have received the worst customer service ever. I am surprised that they can remain in business treating their customers so badly. This was my first claim with them. My car is still not fixed. I am still going round and round with them. Meanwhile my car is sitting at the body shop and I'm in a rental that is costing me $10.00 a day.

And this was before we had ever filed a claim. Now that we filed a claim (over 8 years ago) with our insurance agent, our insurance went up and has not come down. We believe in loyalty but not at the cost of $100 to $200 every six months. We have only filed one claim ever.

Sent balance due to claims without notifying me. I used Progressive Commercial on a commercial vehicle policy from approximately September 2015 until April 2017. I went with Progressive because it was the most reasonably priced for the coverage that I wanted. Whenever I needed to add or remove a driver from the policy there is someone who is always available. When the business was no longer profitable for me, I contacted Progressive again and asked them to cancel the policy. I was not told at the time that I still owed any additional money and thought that everything was squared away. That was until I received a phone call in May from a collection agency stating that I owed Progressive $290 for a remaining balance.

I contacted Progressive to find out what was going on and they said they had sent me a bill (not sure if it got lost in the mail but I never received it) but that I would need to pay the amount with the collection agency. I immediately settled the unpaid balance with the collection agency. I was furious that I had no communication (phone call, email, letter) from Progressive or my local carrier that I still owed a balance, and the first communication I received was from a collection agency. I take my personal and business credit very seriously and this lack of communication could have been something that could have remained a bad mark on my record for at least 7 years.

I was quoted and started a 6 month policy for 170/month. The first month I paid the 170 but the second month the bill was higher. When I asked why they had told me the previous amount was just my initial payment but that the higher amount for the second month was actually going to be my monthly amount. The third month it went up AGAIN and I was told that I was misinformed earlier on but that the third month's amount due was actually my monthly income. I sucked it up after realizing that I cannot change the company and continued to pay it to have my car insurance.

Mid way through my policy I turned 25... I was excited and expected my rate to go down, of course. When I called, I was told that my rate would go down but that I would have to wait because I cannot change anything on my already existing policy. After paying my last month of insurance due for the 6 month policy I had realized it was finally time to save some money on my rate... I called hoping to hear what my next better rate would be and I was told I had to wait till the end of the month to find out even though I had already paid the policy off in full.

I called back for the final time at the end of that month, once again, excited to hear a cheaper rate and the lady not only told me that I am not getting a discount because me be 25 is not a guaranteed factor but also that my rate is going to be MORE than it was before. By the way nothing on my driving record had changed, so when I asked how in the hell it was more when it should be less... she told me it was only because the rate I had prior was actually a discounted rate because I had agreed to efiling (that's when all business is done electronically instead of using paper). I said, ok and why and the heck is that not the case this time? "Well because it is only offered for your first policy." You would think it would be the opposite but instead they start out sounded good only to trick you in the end! Highly disappointed and will not be renewing any policy or policies for that matter!

He had a wreck. I filed a claim only to be denied. Reason. Since my insured driver's car broke down and it wasn't my car listed on the insurance no coverage. He needs to turn claim over to his personal insurance. Well my driver only has liability so now he's facing 2k in damage costs. I was lied to from the beginning giving me the false assumption that everything would be covered under my plan. Switching very soon.

Still have not received any refund so I called and when I was explaining it to the lady she didn't let me finish and didn't ask to put me on hold and just placed me on hold (BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE). Put a supervisor on the phone and he was being disrespectful and told me I need to be quiet (NEVER SUPPOSE TO SPEAK TO A CUSTOMER LIKE THAT). Then he starts explaining that my refund won't be in my bank until the 3rd of May which is now 15 days until I have to wait for my refund that was never suppose to be taken in the first place.

Now I have to wait until May 3rd to see what my next runaround is going to be and the excuse they will have next. IF YOU ARE A CURRENT CUSTOMER I'LL SUGGEST TO GET NEW INSURANCE. They have very bad customer service and the representatives don’t have no idea of their job and the way they’re suppose to speak to a customer.

The only reason I gave this company one star was because you had to in order to leave a review. They have the worst customer service and will treat you well only if you never have to call them. The rates are extremely high and if I would have read any of these reviews before becoming a customer, I would of never been a customer of Progressive. They are definitely not creating customers for life. Before choosing an insurance company read their reviews and base it off of reputation. Progressive only wants your money, they care NOTHING about their customers. I filed a hail damage claim over a week ago. The adjuster left and said she would send me an estimate. Of course I never heard back from her, I called in and spoke to an agent who said he'd send me an estimate via email, and a check should arrive within 5-7 days, of course neither ever happened.

I called back a third time and got a different story, of course, from someone saying that they needed proof that there was no previous hail damage from the previous owner, which has absolutely NOTHING to do with me or the owner of the car now. Going into week 2, I've spoken to rude supervisors, customer service agents who hang up and act like if they lose one customer they are not hurting. If you have the option to deal with another insurance company, DO THAT, and run from Progressive. THEY DO NOT PAY CLAIMS, they give you the run around and that is what insurance is for.

I made contact with the customer service dept. a week ago and obtained a quote and all that I would need to start a new policy, as I just moved from CA to WA. I received a quote via email. Today I called to start this policy and was told about Progressive's "stringent" proof of garaging policy, meaning I have to provide a utility bill, pay stub, homeowner bank statement, W2, tax doc, social security doc, or WA drivers license or they cannot start a policy. I provided a drivers license but that is only a secondary form of identification (although I can establish or obtain damn near everything else in the country with it). To Progressive I still need one of the other items specifically.

Well I moved 3 weeks ago! I am not employed, and I am boarding with friends until I get employed so none of those other documents exist or have not been updated yet! A WA drivers license with a USPS change of address doc, vehicle registration, voter's reg card, mail from healthcare provider, is suitable documentation to prove my residence... Not to mention the customer service employee neglected to tell me of this "necessity/policy" when the policy was quoted... This is absolute ignorance that I am being punished by these idiots over a policy of complete ignorance. Even talking with someone that is a "supervisor". The only thing they do is ignore what you're telling them and reiterate their requirement... Epic idiocy.

I decided to look into changing Auto insurance & maybe bundling it with homeowners. I have had 2 accidents in the past 12 years, both not my fault, and the 2 at-fault drivers had Progressive. I had a very positive experience with Progressive both times so I thought maybe I'd check on it and get a lower rate in the process. I went to Statewide about 2:00 this afternoon & the door was locked. I looked at the hours sign & they should have been open. Then I noticed a sign that said "back in 10 minutes" so I decided to wait. Then I noticed someone inside so I just figured they forgot to remove the sign. I tried the door again and this man got up and came to the door. He just stuck his head out the door and said, "May I help you?" I did a double-take. I hadn't really wanted to stand out on the sidewalk and negotiate my insurance. I told him I wanted to inquire about insurance.

He said "We're in a meeting right now. Come back in an hour." So what should I do? I could go home 1/2 hour away thru the construction on John Young, then turn around & drive back, or I could drive around for an hour, or I could just stand outside their door for an hour, or I could sit in my car for an hour. I decided I didn't need Progressive after all. Apparently, they treat the "non-Progressive" accident victims better than they do their own insureds. Guess it's to keep us from suing them or hoping to win us over as future customers. If this is the way you treat possible future customers, I don't want anything to do with it. I'll stick to my current insurance company. Thanks but no thanks.

Shop said computer was fried due to a short caused by Snapshot. Called Progressive and they said, "Prove it." Took mechanics 3 weeks to repair all the several components that were melted in the electrical system, over $1000 in repair costs.

Progressive denied any fault and would not pay for a rental while car was in shop. Customer service was RUDE and suggested that I was making a false claim about damages. After paying out of pocket for damage caused by Snapshot, Progressive dropped our coverage for "filing a claim early in our coverage" which was a claim for damages caused BY THEIR PRODUCT. Looked online and found out that over 8,000 people filed class action lawsuit for same thing- Snapshot causing damage & car dying all of a sudden. Will be contacting a lawyer and filing suit. This company is beyond shady, they put my family's life in danger, did $1000 of damage to my car, denied the whole thing, then treated me like I was a criminal for asking them to admit responsibility. In December 20th 2016, I was rear ended while at a stoplight. The other person was distracted and driving between 35 & 45 MPH when she hit me. I was able to drive away from the accident after the police report. Her car's front end was completely destroyed. My trailer hitch went through her radiator and into her engine block. We both carried Progressive Insurance and within 2 days Progressive had lined up repair services for my car and rental. It was quick and easy with no aggravation on my end. 1 week later and $5000.00+ in repairs to my small SUV it was ready and looked great.

2 months later I started having Transmission issues that resulted in having my Transmission replaced. After having my Transmission replaced the repair facility said my drive shaft was bad and needed to be replaced. I took my car to a driveline specialist who repaired the driveshaft. They had asked if I was in a accident recently because the driveshaft had a slight bend and out of balance. I asked if my driveshaft and transmission could have been damaged in the accident and without hesitation they said most certainly it was. When I picked up my car after getting the driveshaft repaired I was told that my SUV Transfer Case (PTU Unit) needed repair and could hear a grinding noise. My car is a AWD and has a Transfer Case/PTU Unit.

All 3 issues are in the driveline and failed all at the same time after the accident. It did not even dawn on me when I had the transmission replaced that it could have been part of the accident. Even the driveshaft issue and now a Transfer Case. I called Progressive to see what could be done as I was already $3000.00 in the hole and another $1000.00 for a transfer case in the future. Progressive insurance called me back 2 days later and said my "Claims Representative" Would call me back within a day.

1 day later I received a call from someone other than my Progressive Claims Representative who immediately was on the defense of "Not being the problem" and started talking technical about why my accident did not cause the problems I was having. Going on about Uni-body designs and impacts, shockwaves running through my car.

He both started arguing and the phone call was getting heated. I told him I have 3 different repair shops who will state the damages I had are accident related. He said that I should arranging to have Progressive's Expert mechanics look at the damage in my driveline and they would make a decision. I told him I had the repairs done (but not the transfer case) so there is no damage anymore. He told me I broke my service contract by having my car serviced at a non Progressive repair facility. Even though I had no idea this was accident related. We started yelling back and forth and he said "You know what. Call me in my office when you cool down." That was 5 days ago and I still do not know who he was or even have a number for him.

I called a good personal friend of Mine who works in the IT department at Progressive to see if he could track down the person I spoke to. After explaining my issues he said "Good Luck! We (Progressive) won't cover the extra damage because the other person who hit you was also covered under Progressive" and they (Progressive) couldn't recover the money. It is consider lost profits. He also said Progressive's expert repair shops will not allow after the fact damages be covered because the repairs shops get good business from Progressive and they will always side with Progressive in fear of losing the business. In my region (Cleveland, Ohio) Insurance repair shops are in abundance and all fear insurance companies and will always side with them.

I just became a new customer of Progressive. I had to switch from out of state since my previous company did not do policies in Florida. I had purchased a new vehicle in our previous state to make the move to Florida and I had to have a policy written in our new state. I had to get this new car off the lot and made a quick call to Progressive knowing that they offered policies in Florida. I called in to get insurance on the new vehicle to get it off the lot. I told Progressive that I had not had time to comparison shop and while I hoped that I was going to be able to keep my business with them I was going to check the competition. So they gave me a quote, I paid my first monthly payment in full as well as adding some renter's insurance for a new apartment.

Within a few days I did my comparison shopping. Found a company that was significantly cheaper and decided to go with them. I had only had 30 days of coverage with Progressive. Once I called and cancelled the Progressive policy switching to Geico which was a much more price effective company they did billed me an additional $50 because I had not completed my 6-month term with them. Once I receive this additional $50 bill I called in to find out what was going on hoping that a representative would be able to help me with this unexpected cost. That did not happen.

I additionally spoke with a supervising agent who told me that when you start with Progressive they automatically drop your first month's bill by $50 as essentially a bait and switch tactic to get new business. Then I asked for the name of the supervising agent I was on the phone with and the agent who had wrote my policy because of this $50 cost was never at any point disclosed to me. To then find out that Progressive is actively in the practice of these bait and switch policies that they will not even give you the last name of the agent who wrote your policy.

On a side note I work as an insurance agent in the state of Kansas when I first graduated college. All of my customers always had my business card and a direct number for me. Additionally as a customer of Country Insurance in the state of Illinois for the last 12 years I always knew the first and last name of my insurance agent Curt ** who is a wonderful man in Decatur Illinois and always had a direct number to him as well.

So as a piece of advice I strongly recommend against any business with Progressive seeing as the core structure of their company lacks transparency and professional Standards. The only information I was given were the 1st names of the 2 agents I spoke with the supervisor was Jonathan employee ID number ** and the woman who wrote my policy was Marissa employee number **. Miss Marissa withheld information but is just a puppet of the master puppeteer which is the overall company of Progressive who clearly uses bait-and-switch tactics to recruit new business. While $50 is an insignificant amount of money I am a true believer in businesses always being transparent and having integrity behind closed doors. Progressive does not meet that standard.

I have a small trucking company and was insured through progressive. There was only 2 of us. My dad and myself. Dad pulls a flatbed and runs long distance. He usually hauls rock from Oklahoma to Texas and post from Oklahoma to South Dakota then picks up hay to bring back to Oklahoma. Myself, I only run about 50 mile radius. I'm working a local job hauling gravel in a end dump. Anyway we had our policy for 1 year and 8 months. And now this is what I am looking at.

I turned in 1 claim. When I was working a job 30 miles from home I raised my end dump in the air, dumped the load of sand I had on and got it unloaded. Then about the time I just put my hand on the knob to set the trailer back down there was a big gust of wind that turned me over. It wasn't my fault. It was just a freak deal. Progressive paid $16,000 for the loss of the trailer.

My dad was in Texarkana hauling fertilizer. He stopped at a truck stop to go to bed and another driver who apparently wasn't paying attention drag his trailer across the front of my dads truck and tore the hood off. Turns out this guy was also insured through progressive so Progressive didn't want to cover it because they had nobody to fight with. Well they basically told us tough luck. That they weren't going to cover it. Dad got mad, threatened them with a lawsuit and they finally agreed to pay to fix the truck. But were going to count it against us as our fault. So we fought with them again and once again threatened a lawsuit. It was the other guys fault. He could have his insurance jack up. Finally after having the truck tore up for 3 months they finally fixed our truck and supposedly put the fault on the guy who drag his trailer across the hood.

I still don't know how this happened. So it was memorable day weekend my parents were going to the lake and taking the camper trailer. My dad blew a tire on his camper and it messed up the floor of the inside. So this is his personal camper trailer. It has absolutely nothing to do with my trucking company. He turned it into his personal insurance company which is a completely different company and somehow progressive picked it up and took it upon themselves to cover something that is not on their policy and said it was our fault and added points to our record. We never did get the camper fixed either. So fast forward to today.

Today: my commercial insurance policy was about $18,000 for the year which me and my dad split per month between the two of us. They are now wanting $47,000 for the year to renew the policy. There is no way anybody can afford a policy like that that would be over $3,000 a month for insurance. We have argued with them for the last 2 months and got progressive to send a statement admitting that the end dump was not my fault, and admitting that the old man dragging his trailer across the hood of dads truck was not dads fault, and they took the camper that should have never been on there off. However because they still paid out the best they can do is $43,000 for the year. So last night my insurance expired. I can't afford that high dollar crap so thanks to progressive I am out of business now.

Right after getting the estimate I called our rep and he said he was mailing the check right away. A week later there was no sign of any check. We called the rep an average of 15 times to no answer. When we finally managed to speak to him, he said he was going to mail the check that day. We said no and decided to drive the 20 something miles to the Progressive office to get the check in person.

We were also told to go to an auto body shop and call him from there to get a rental. Called quite a few times. No answer. Called the 1800 number and was redirected to Progressive MA since we have a MA phone numbers. We were redirected to Progressive Florida - straight to voicemail quite a few times. After finally getting through and getting the rental arranged, we arrived at Enterprise to be told Progressive was only paying up to $25 per day (wouldn't cover a compact SUV). I called Progressive again to ask about this. After being redirected from MA to FL and managing to speak to someone in the Florida office, the representative not only indirectly accused me of lying, but was passive aggressive, and said there was nothing she could do. On January 9, 2014 my automobile was struck by a person on a bike, or young lady at approximately 6:16 pm. It was a three-way intersection and I was behind the line. There were two buildings on the other side. She was riding her bicycle on the sidewalk on the wrong side of the street and failed to yield. I looked that way directly to my right-hand side and there was nobody in my site division. So I started to creep out before moving into the lane of traffic to my right. I stopped because I saw there was a girl on a bike headed towards my car at a disturbingly fast speed. She hit the side of my car with the bike but not hard enough for her to fly over the hood of the car. I quickly got out of the car to see if she was all right and she said she was fine and she was concerned about something she had in a bag attached to the bike. She kept saying to me "I thought you weren't going to move your car."

I told her I've barely moved it because there was so much traffic and there was a blind spot to my right side. She said that she saw me but didn't slow down or stop and walk or bike across the street because she thought I would and that I saw her. Needless to say I quickly called the police and they also contacted an ambulance to make sure everybody was ok. At that very moment I called the police two people in a car pulled over and said they saw the whole thing and then I bolted out of the intersection and deliberately hit her and that I blew the stop. The passenger in that car claimed it was my fault and he was a man. The driver of that car was a woman and she said it was not my fault and disagreed with her passenger. The male witness was clearly disturbed and impaired either by drugs and liquor and was extremely violent. The woman in the car drove away and pulled over.

There were cars behind me and they saw the whole thing and claimed it was her fault not mine all in front of the police. The police issued citation for tickets because in their opinion it was nobody at fault and if anybody was at fault it was her for not getting off her bike and not walking it across the street. They said it was illegal for her to ride on the sidewalk and she was on the wrong side of the street.

A few weeks later and investigator from Progressive came to see me. She began an investigation and seemed that things were definitely in my favor. She told me things were very strange and that apparently the male witness that claimed he saw the entire event had some kind of strange relationship with the girl that hit me with her bike. Apparently they had been roommates in the past and had a previous history of insurance claims but she wasn't being completely transparent for legal reasons. However she said something was very strange about the entire situation and that it was most likely fraudulent. Months passed and I was completely confident that it was a fraudulent claim and that Progressive would stand by their client that was clearly being set up.

I received a phone call one afternoon months later by a gentleman that was in charge of settling the claim and that he made determination that the investigation came to the conclusion that they could not determine who is at fault and that the investigation was becoming very expensive. Therefore to avoid any further liability they chose to pay out a settlement of $800 or so dollars hence making me at 80% at fault.

Needless to say I was curious and very angry because my premiums tripled. Not only that but it is on my permanent insurance record for five years subject me to extremely high premiums and destroying my reputation. I told him that I was very disappointed that they didn't stick by me as a client of six years with no history of accidents that I was at fault. I don't know why they just didn't drop me as a client and leave it at that. There should be a law against reporting an incident like this to an agency that makes it public knowledge to other insurance companies when they don't know the details! Progressive could have simply paid out the claim and reported there was no fault and that would've saved me thousands of dollars in premiums and my reputation.

I think it should be illegal for insurance companies can decide who is at fault and who's not. That should be for a court of law to decide based on the information that was discovered and the police report. Not by somebody in an insurance office sitting behind a cubicle deciding the financial fate of a loyal client. This girl apparently made no threat to sue the insurance company and said that she was fine according to her doctors. It is just another example how Progressive Insurance tries to rip off the clients and avoid any litigation regardless of who's at fault. Do yourself a favor and avoid doing business with Progressive!

License, insurance, banking, social security, all of it. They didn't accept my Arizona driver's license or my voter id card or my bank statement or rental agreement or cable bill or phone bill... (all current Arizona) NOT ANY OF THESE ITEMS WERE GOOD ENOUGH TO VALIDATE WHERE I CURRENTLY LIVE. Or my RV... So they cancelled my insurance, truck, boat, motorcycle, RV, all of them. Progressive can kiss my **. I'll stay with State Farm. Customer service with Progressive is terrible.

After several phone calls and writing this review Progressive responded stating that the incident was no fault of mine and set up the repair and rental car. Unfortunately it took daily persistence to get this issue resolved.

    Original Review: March 29, 2017

I was parked at a gas station to get air, an SUV backed into my Vibe and severely dented the drivers door. I called the police. He filled out an accident report and told me he could not issue the girl (who had her license for 2 weeks) a citation because it was private property. The 2000 SUV was not damaged, and the mother filed a claim with Progressive. Since we both had Progressive coverage I was told by my agent things should move swiftly. Not so. I called the adjuster on a Friday. My call was not returned till Tuesday. I was then told they were not able to reach the other party on the phone and could not move forward until they heard back.

I pay my premium every month and have been a customer since 2015. I was told I could just pay the $500 deductible and get my vehicle repaired. My car was parked, this girl backed into a parked car, while I was frantically honking at her. Clearly I was not at fault, but I am expected to pay $500. I thought the reason I have insurance is that they not only protect my interests but pay for damages when I am not at fault. I cannot wait for my policy to expire. I will never return to Progressive, nor will I ever recommend it to others. They do not stand behind you as a customer. Very disappointed in such a large company that advertises as being number one.

Where do I even begin? I've had Progressive for about two years. Never had an accident, always paid on time my coverage is for two vehicles, Full Cover. One, a Mercedes-Benz C350 Sports 2009 and a 2003 Mini Cooper Original Edition. Here's where my dilemma began - I moved to Anaheim, CA after a trip to Texas. I noticed a lot of vagrants around the area but they never bothered me.

About two months ago, I wake up to my car being completely keyed, scratched and hit with an object. I was not the only one but I was unaware of that at the time. There were 4 vehicles this occurred to. I naturally called the insurance company, and for fear of this to re-occur I had the vehicle locked up since I had nowhere to store it. I locked it up at a Body Shop that was recommended to me after asking my brother in law who is a mechanic - which I had then planned to use for my repairs.

This occurred on Feb 18, 2017. The shop called me the following day and notified me of additional damage that was overlooked by myself initially. I called my rep to advise of the additional damage to amend my claim and start an Audit with a field adjuster. Here is where Progressive shows how they progressively screw you. I was told the scratches on my door (deep with a nail or something very sharp) would be painted but the dent from the blunt object would not be repaired. HOW DOES THAT MAKE ANY SENSE? Paint the car but not fix the dents? Progressive then advised I would have to open a SECOND claim. Now, I have proof they only provided me with ONE CLAIM number originally. I was forced to open a claim for Comprehensive and one for Collision, mind you the vehicle was parked and the damage was indeed covered by comprehensive but they fought me on it.

It's about 6 weeks later, I still don't have my car. I've been taking the train to work. I am out a few hundred due to travel expenses for work and have no vehicle to top it off. It took them 6 ridiculous long weeks to get my vehicle fixed. But wait there's more!!! Here's the real kicker!!! Grab some popcorn, cause this is a comedy in a horror setting.

The vehicle is now a week out from being completed on repairs (was told 2 weeks ago) and they denied repairing my clearly cracked bumper because it had a previous scratch which I made them aware of when I obtained their insurance and the car was reviewed for coverage. Their point of view, they are not liable to cover previous damage to a car they agreed to insure at the current state which I presented originally even though the vehicle reviewed additional damage now under their Policy? Wow, never heard of that, but let's move on. I get a call, I am told - "Hey, your vehicle is going to be done by this weekend" That was two weeks ago, didn't happen. I get another call last Friday, "Hey your vehicle is going to be done this weekend! But to make you feel better, we are waiving one deductible".

I was happy for a second. Then I am told, "So you only owe $1,000 dollars." "Excuse me, for what? For 1 deductible" I asked. And I'm told, "no. For two deductibles because we waived one of the 3 deductibles." This is where it gets confusing. Not only did the adjuster take every PENNY of the overlap the shop had and hoped to use towards repairing my bumper. They tacked on another deductible when I called to amend my initial comprehensive claim, but failed to advise or issue a new Claim number under Comprehensive. I was never given a letter, notified, advised or informed in any way or manner of a second deductible being put in place for comprehensive. It makes NO sense that I would want to pay double deductible for the same CLAIM!!!

This an absolute disaster and NEVER EVER RECOMMEND THIS INSURANCE TO ANYBODY!!! These guys are thieves! I am out a total of $1,560 dollars, also paid insurance for my car while it's locked up. Add another $440 to my tally for these two months of insurance while my vehicle is being repaired. I had to move from the property I was living at due to fear of my cars being messed with. I don't know anybody here. I work all day and come home at night. This was just people with nothing better to do messing with our property. I felt so protected and didn't have to worry about a thing. Well, my only worry now is to cancel this ASAP!

I am not done with them yet. I plan to pursue it with their Customer Service department. I want proof where I was told I was paying 3 deductibles. Freaking thieves!!! Can't stand to think they consider themselves top tier insurance company. If you want quality service, got to Farmers Insurance. I've had them in the past, never had an issue and plan to go back immediately. I WOULD LOVE for someone with Progressive to reach out to me. I'd love to hear their wonderful stories of how I should feel better by not asking for my money back or getting overcharged.

I am a Progressive Insurance customer. I had called for roadside assistance to Progressive as part of my contract allows. Progressive sent R&R towing out of El Cerrito CA #193171. The driver proceeded to damage my vehicle and attempt to steal my stereo, robbed me and stole my jack out of my trunk. Progressive now says it's not them it is their contractor Agero Roadside, a company I have no contract with and did not call for roadside. I had no ability to research Agero. I had no idea they were the contractor for Progressive or whether they dispatched scary felons routinely to roadside call such as they did with me.

My contract was through Progressive and it is Progressive that should pay out my claim to have my vehicle repaired from the damages caused by their AGENT. A little FYI - The driver threatened me and then told me to not tell anyone he had stolen from me or damaged my car because he knew where I lived from the tow paperwork so essentially he was provided an easy mark by Progressive Insurance; a woman on the side of the road alone. The picture shows my missing speaker he tore out and the empty area inside the spare tire where my Mercedes original brand jack and flares used to be located. I can't post the picture of the money but he took money too.

So I bought a car in October and almost immediately tried to start my car insurance through Progressive. I got the first quote and everything looked fine, so I called in to pay and get everything started. They couldn't find the damn quote!!! So after starting yet another quote the same thing happened... Twice. Every time I got a quote and went to approve it, they couldn't find it and had to start another, which takes some time. Five months later they finally figure it out and get the insurance finalized. Mind you this is FIVE MONTHS later. Obviously the credit union I go through won't just allow you to go without insurance, so they piled on their insurance too, doubling the monthly payments of the car. So I called my credit union, the forced insurance company, and Progressive to straighten this mess out, and basically all eyes fall on Progressive.

So after spending what felt like days on the phone going back and forth about their mistake, the supervisor tells me for the twentieth time that they have no clue what they are doing and can't help me even a little. So here I am, stuck with double the car payments I was making, and still paying for insurance on top of the forced insurance price. So would I ever recommend Progressive Insurance to anyone? Only if I had a death wish upon them.

My parked car was hit by a driver who was charged with DUI while driving an Avis rental car with Avis insurance. The Progressive field staff who works with the auto body shop was excellent in getting the estimate done quickly. My primary contact regarding my claim contacted me within a day of filing, he indicated he was waiting for additional information and the police report. I offered him a copy of the police report, the following day, he never responded. I then sent a copy of the report to the Progressive field claims adjuster along with pictures of my car at the time of the incident. I have sent over 18 emails along with numerous phone messages asking for progress status as to the claim and getting my deductible reimbursed.

After 18 days I was told Progressive does not have a copy of the police report and has requested one from my local police department. Obviously this is incorrect and forwarded another copy to them for the pertinent information on the driver and driver’s insurance company. I’m out my $1000 deductible and have no idea when or if I will be reimbursed for something that I did not have any part in whatsoever. I find this lack of customer service inconceivable. Progressive wants my monthly payment on time then I should expect the same from them.

I was traveling home from a business meeting. During the drive home, I drove right into an ice storm. My car slid into a full spin and then off the interstate. After checking everything & assessing that there was no visible damage, I called Progressive to arrange a tow truck to get the car out of the ditch. From the onset, the Progressive rep was looking for reasons not to assist. Telling me that if I was more than 100 feet from the road side I would have to pay for the service myself. After 10 mins of assuring her that I was in a reachable position, they dispatched a wrecker to assist.

Once the car was on the road, I decided to take the next exit just to get a better look at everything. It was then that I realized I had busted my radiator. I contacted Progressive again to see what needed to be done. The claims rep was not helpful. Again, we went back to all of the reasons my car wouldn't be covered. I was told that if I hadn't "hit" anything my policy would not cover the repair. After stressing to him that I was more than 400 mile from home and on a Friday evening, he decided to look into the option of just towing the car home. He said he would get the estimates and would call me back. He never called me at all.

I called to check out the status and was told by another rep that the tow would cost $900. I informed this second rep that the previous one had indicated that they may be able to pay for the tow or, at best, part of the cost. Once again, I was told that they would review the costs against my coverage and let me know what percentage they would be able or willing to cover. Two days later, I networked with locals in that town, found a radiator and a shop to install it on a Sunday. I am now home and my car is fine. No Thanks to Progressive. You may be able to "Name You Price" but you won't be able to name your service. I will be shopping for another company.

After the first month they jacked up my rates, when I called they said that I needed to send in proof of residency and health insurance, the customer service representative said to send a picture of my lease and insurance card through email and I'd get an answer in 5-7 business days. I did, and waited two and a half weeks. Today, I decided to call and check on the disposition. They said that a lease is not valid proof of residency and that I could send in (2) utility bills from WITHIN THE LAST 60 DAYS!!!

So not only did they alter my policy without my permission, they also lied and disregarded their promise of getting back to me with that information. And how exactly is a utility bill from within 60 days more proof for 1+ year residency than my lease with my move in date. I can tell dte I live somewhere and they need 0 proof of that so forging documentation for their needs is a lot harder than what I sent.

After telling them to cancel my policy the lady tells me that I can be penalized from the state for doing so. I said the state of Michigan does not have penalties for cancelling car insurance. She said they would penalize me for every car in my possession without insurance, which is more a threat than any type of warning because if I know the state laws on auto policies then Im sure I know that the vehicle needs it. After asking her again to cancel the account, she goes on telling me that I shouldve known to send in the documentation without being asked to and that it wasnt their job to inform me that my previous sent documents were invalid, when they said they would in the first place. This company is flawed from top to bottom and I would strongly suggest steering clear of their lies.

I towed my car to Honda and notified progressive about it, at first they were very nice and promised to look into my case which they did. They send one of their experts to honda and was shown and told exactly what I said before, progressive said they needed more proof and Honda told them they couldn't tell or give any more information as to what was wrong with the car and had to tear down the car to see what really happened when I hit the hole. Progressive told me that I had to sign a form saying I will have to cover the tearing down cost which was 1100 and if Honda's diagnosis doesn't show any connection with hitting a pothole which to them need to be something specific, then they would not cover my car.

Later on a Rep from progressive called Honda and said they were not going to cover any costs since they don't see any proof? Disappointed at the different information I called progressive and spoke to a supervisor who said it me then that there is a very high likelihood that they will not cover my damages since apparently there is no visible evidence like bent rims, busted tires or scratches at the bottom of my car which would be hard to get as my car is high anyway. I asked if they would at least rent me a car for the time being and his response was NO because they don't have proof again that I really hit a pothole. All this years I thought I was covered by progressive until I needed them and they weren't there. Very, very disappointing for a good, loyal customer. Worst experience ever.

I do not have Progressive Insurance and have never dealt with Progressive prior to this incident. A third car hit the car behind me and pushed the car behind me up under my GMC Acadia. Since my deductible was $1k and the cost to replace my bumper was only $501, I had to go thru Progressive myself. Per my USAA insurance, Progressive is taking responsibility for the repair and rental car. Even though I had an estimate done, a claim adjuster from Progressive needed to see my car at the body shop. The car was able to be driven.

Problem: since Jan 2017 I have been in contact with Progressive insurance, specifically Chelsea. I leave messages for Chelsea and she does not call back. One late Friday around 5 p.m. she called about my claim and said she would call me back around 9 a.m. the next day, which was Saturday and we would get the auto body shop on the phone on a 3 way call and set everything up. Guess what!? She never called me! Again, I left messages for her and for a Dustin. No calls returned!

Eventually, I got another customer service person on the phone by pressing 0 when Chelsea's recording came on. I was all set up with Fix Auto in El Mirage, AZ. Took my car in around 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, 3/07/17 and got a rental car. Called later in day Tuesday and no Progressive person had shown up. Called Progressive, got a customer svc rep and they told me someone is scheduled to go out in the morning - Wednesday 3/08/17. Called Fix Auto later on Wednesday, 3/08/17 - NO Progressive person showed up. Called Progressive office again, was told someone will be there in the morning, Thursday, 3/09/17. Called Thursday - NO Progressive person showed up.

Now called Progressive again, spoke to another customer svc rep and this one said a Leslie is going out Friday, 3/10/17 AND I was given Leslie's cell phone #. Left Leslie a message with my claim #, etc today and am waiting on a callback from her. I left on her voicemail that I MUST have my Acadia back for the weekend. I am going to leave a message on her phone every 2 hours until I get a returned call.

I am VERY frustrated with this whole experience. All that is getting replaced is my rear bumper. I realize that the bumper will need to be removed to see if any other damage is done plus, different adjusters are assigned different claims. This is unacceptable service for a simple fix to my car. I will NEVER recommend Progressive insurance to anyone and I will tell everyone I know about my experience with Progressive and how I was lied to numerous times about my car being checked out by an adjuster. IF my issue is resolved and I am satisfied I will follow up with another review.

This is an update. I selected 3 stars so it would average to two. After calling enough people, Progressive finally decided that I had hit a deer and not a pole. I am still switching to a company that knows what deer-on-car damage looks like, but figured the world should know.

    Original Review: March 9, 2017

Over the weekend, I hit a deer while driving across the state. A minute after I hit the deer, an officer happened upon me and wrote up a report that it was, in fact, a deer (he saw it stumble off the road). I reported the claim right away, assuming that, having had no accidents, my case would be taken seriously. Once my car was at the collision repair shop, I was told that they believe I hit a deer with my bumper and a post with my fender. Not only were there no posts in the area, but the damage is far from consistent with a post! They paid (or I did, through my deductible) for a repair on the bumper and headlight, but left my dented fender for me. Buyer beware: get better insurance. The only silver lining is that it was not a serious accident I needed them for. I am taking this to court if the yellow "paint transfer" chemically matches his yellow marker he used to outline the damage.

The moment you see Progressive (or what I call Recessive), get as much information about the driver and owner of the car as possible - you'll need that if you expect to get your money back. I was found to be 0% at fault (100% Progressive customer's fault). They actually said they had a limit for the coverage, and we were only speaking about $3000 worth of damage. I asked what the limit of the coverage was - and they wouldn't say, but I got the distinct feeling from the Progressive rep that we must have been above or at the limit of the moron's coverage.

So just remember PROGRESSIVE = loser driver, get as much information. Hopefully the moron paid for his car - so I can take that away from him in small claims court. He is long on the ass, but short on the ET's. Claims adjuster was rude, insensitive, and talked over me when I gave my expectations (fix car, cover rental). I don't think I was being unreasonable. He then led in on a tirade of "state law only requires". Yes, I suppose state law lets all of the people that shouldn't be on the road - be on the road. You and I have to pay the difference. So way to go Progressive, I get to bad mouth your company regardless of how stupid your Flo commercials get.

I was recently stopped at a red light when I was hit from behind by another vehicle. The person who hit me had Progressive insurance (which is who I filed through since I was not at fault in anyway). My overall experience with Progressive was amazing. Everyone I talked to from Progressive was super helpful and willing and wanting to help me with my problem. I took my car to their Altamonte location in Orlando about a week later for them to do a damage inspection and estimate. They called me back within three days and told me my car was totaled. From this point on I was thinking all hell was going to break loose, and now I was going to be in a battle to try get them to pay the actual value of my car and not low ball me. Much to my surprise they gave just about $200 less that what I paid for it. They also pay you for the dealership fees and taxes you paid on the car.

The reimbursement process was smooth and simple. They instantly put me in a rental car from Enterprise, also allowing me to pick the rental car I wanted (which was a plus). They called me and told me I could swing by to pick up the cheque they had wrote me. The only thing that I had to bring in was the title of my car along with an ID. I was super surprised how easy it was; I was in and out in less than 30 minutes at anytime I was there. They don't hold you up. One of the service guys named Kenny was super helpful; he is located at their Altamonte Claims Centre. He was a straightforward person who told you exactly what was happening and what to expect. Overall would highly recommend Progressive Auto Insurance. Their customer service is outstanding. Keep up the good work!

I had the snapshot thing and they sent me a card that I made it to gold member and that I would get a discount. Well if they call a higher mth payment then they are AH now. On Jan. 25 I was involved in a major car accident while on way to work as teacher. A truck carrying wrecked cars forced me off the road and my car vaulted 61 ft in the air and rolled over 6 times. The driver of the truck kept going. I was cut from my car and taken to the ICU Trauma Unit of a local hospital. I was later transferred to a rehab hospital and released after almost a month. I have no disability insurance and will not receive a paycheck while on medical leave. I COUNTED ON PROGRESSIVE TO BE FAIR. I received a call from Progressive rep Emily ** while in the hospital. The wreck left me with a brain hemorrhage, 5 broken ribs, broken sternum, 3 broken vertebrae. Ms. ** was aggressive and insensitive when speaking to me. I was treated like a criminal and told I would be charged with the accident. Progressive acted as if my version of the accident was meaningless.

I informed Ms. ** that the officer who filed my report failed to speak with other witnesses on the scene who told me they saw what happened. She was only interested in closing out her file on me. The details of the accident read by her caused me a major panic attack in the hospital in part brought on by my heretofore belief that as a 20 year customer with Progressive and a clear driving record, my insurance company would be on my side or at the very least treat me with compassion. Neither of which happened. I have since spoken with supervisor Brad ** who intimated that I could not give a reliable account of the accident due to my head injury.

Though I have requested a copy of the police report so that I may personally contact the officer and pray he amends his findings after giving him the names of witnesses and my account of the accident, I am being pressured by Progressive to accept a settlement that robs me of my policy benefits for uninsured motorist coverage. Their position relies solely on an incomplete police report and they are taking the position that I am entitled to nothing more than monetary damages for the loss of my car (2014 Nissan Juke). Instead of calling themselves Progressive, they should rename themselves, Aggressively in Pursuit of Screwing Loyal Customers. They should be ashamed of the heartless treatment I have received due to their greed.

The customer service guy told me that I would not have my discounts but I would receive the emails based on the change and should not pay attention to that because my insurance would stop. Now the month is over I don't have their coverage and they sent me an email that I have an overdue statement balance. I have had a few issues with Progressive. First was the double bill that they told me was a "reinstatement fee" which actually turned into my monthly bill even though I had no accidents or ticks (Yep, my bill went UP after the first 6 months, even though there were NO changes)... Then the bigger problem began after I had a fraudulent charge to my bank account which caused a payment to bounce. This caused me to have to contact them several times to get that whole mess taken care of.

I thought everything was okay. I have in writing that I was to have a double bill in February and no bill in January due to the mess that had occurred... However, Progressive's computers get the last say and even though an employee went in and cancelled, then reinstated my policy to have the double payment in feb, I still received a bill for January (or so they claim) and because I didn't pay (again, I didn't know about it and had agreed to the double payment in feb) my policy got cancelled. I then called and had to explain EVERYTHING over again because they do not put notes in the files and was basically told "give us money or go screw yourself." I chose to NOT give them any more of my money and I am looking elsewhere for Car insurance. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE!

They will not honor recorded communications. It took 6 weeks to get Progressive to remove a family member's accident from the underwriting decision. Underwriting Departments and Customer Service do NOT communicate with each other. First underwriting person admits that Progressive made a mistake and accidentally canceled the policy because Customer Service and Underwriting Departments did not communicate with each other about changes made to the policy. I have the Customer Service communication confirming this in print format from online chat feature on Progressive website.

Call back to Underwriting Department and now 2nd underwriting person will not take responsibility for what they claim is incorrect information communicated by Customer Service Department. They said the customer should know that the "Customer Service" Department and the "Underwriting" Department are separate and that information communicated to one department is not necessarily given to the other department. You cannot trust any information communicated by this company because they will not honor what another department says to you even if you have recorded proof of it.

Also, all my communications are set to be delivered electronically. Interesting to note that the ONLY document that was not delivered electronically was the cancellation notice. The refund post-cancellation was magically delivered electronically again. If you are relying on electronic communications and have opted out of the mailings, beware. They will not honor that either. I think it is unfair that Progressive Insurance does not give a clear understanding as to what their policies mean. After being given the runaround by a number of agents, I was notified (today) that anything on your policy is considered a claim. Now being new to driving and insurance policies, that should have been something that was explained at the time I received the policy, but it wasn't. As a matter of fact, it doesn't state any of this in the current policy that I have. However, the only answer they were willing to give was, anything on your policy that is used is considered a claim.

When you call Progressive Insurance company phone number, claims and roadside assistance are 2 different options, yet after being with this company since 2012 and used the coverage that THEY told me was a good option to add to the full coverage, I am just now being told that roadside assistance is was considered a claim. Being new to driving, this was information that should have been included when explaining the benefits of being with the company, but they didn't. Not once when calling for assistance was I told it was considered a claim.

I have questions that they refuse to answer like, why wasn't the information offered before now? Or, why doesn't this statement show anywhere in your policy? Or, why after all this time, I am being dropped because of flat tires? Why after all this time, I am now being told that a flat tire will be the cause of losing your policy with an insurance company that told me this is something I should add to my coverage? I believe this very important to know as I would have used other options to fix my tires. Also, there wasn't 1 person who was willing to explain to me why this information wasn't made clear in the beginning.

My fear in all of this is the thought of how often are people mislead regarding coverage offered by insurance companies and how do you know you can trust them? This makes me not want to trust insurance companies at all. I feel completely mislead with no explanation as to why I was mislead or misinformed. They act as if this was a question I should have asked when being a new driver should have been something that I was informed of as they were aware I was a new driver.

Things like claims and how your coverage works should be explained at the beginning of the policy but instead when they decided they have enough of your money and they don't want to help you anymore then they tell you things you should have been told in the beginning! Thumbs down to Progressive Insurance and I hope others can see this and at least get the understanding I wasn't given before they purchase a policy from themselves. Flo is only in the commercials, the agents doesn't care about you or honesty about their policy, they only want you to buy it so they can take your money and dismiss you for them not giving you information you needed to know.

If I could give zero stars, I would. Let me begin by saying I am not a customer of Progressive, and will never be. My boyfriend was driving my car while I was at work (with my permission), and was hit from behind in what ended up being a four car accident back in December 24, 2015. At the time I had AAA for my car insurance, and the woman who was at fault had Progressive. I had a conversation with someone from AAA to give my statement. The lady originally told me it was going to be fine, even though he wasn't covered on my policy, because I gave my permission. Long story short, AAA rescinded my policy for saying I was being dishonest when I took out the policy, even though my boyfriend ALMOST NEVER drives my car.

I figured, hey didn't matter because he didn't cause it anyway. Boy, was I wrong. Progressive took a look at my vehicle and assessed the damage, putting me in a rental while it was to be fixed. Little did I know they decided to take apart my vehicle and not put it back together, then tell me they were only going to cover for a week in the rental. Once they disassembled my car, they tried to tell me it was a total loss, which I vehemently argued against because it was simply trunk damage and nothing more. But I got a runaround about how the woman who hit my car only had $10,000 on her policy and my car was at least $5,000 in damages. What does Progressive do? Fix every single car in the accident (all had very minor damages) and left my car taken apart and refused to fix it.

At this point I was beyond words. I was a mother who worked 40 hours a week without a car, so forced to pay for a rental. They were nice enough to let me keep the rate at which Progressive originally gave, but ended up paying about $2,000 for a rental overall. I was very angry. The agent handling the case was extremely clueless and lacked any kind of help whatsoever. I couldn't get help from AAA because they rescinded my policy. Progressive tried to bully me into giving them my car and for them to take it to an insurance auto auction to be sold. I didn't want to because I still had a car loan that needed to be paid off, my car had a Kelley Blue Book market value of about $10,000, and there was no guarantee for any kind of real reimbursement.

After a lot of back and forth I finally caved and agreed, much to my dismay. In May I signed the paperwork, and was told it would take 3-4 for the car to be processed and sold, and I would get the money. It is now February 2017, over a year after the accident, and NOTHING. I was just told today they were going to start on getting my car taken off next week. I blew a gasket. Weeks went by prior to this with me calling the rep, his boss, and his bosses boss and NO ONE GOT BACK TO ME. I am SO LIVID. Their customer service is beyond horrible, clueless reps, and absolutely no compassion whatsoever. I beg everyone to stay away from them, THEY are AWFUL. I've lost thousands on an accident that wasn't my fault and I won't rest until I get my reimbursement. Screw you, Progressive!!!

Progressive Insurance is costing my family money. A Jeep insured by Progressive hit my daughter on 1/16/17 in Albuquerque and ran. This event is not in dispute. As the car has insurance, my insurance company, State Farm cannot use Uninsured Motorist with a deductible of $250. They are using "Collision" with a deductible of $500 until Progressive makes a stand on the status of this claim. We are picking up the car tomorrow and must pay $500 to get it. This accident is fully the fault of the vehicle under Progressive's policy and yet I must pay $500. This is insane!

If Progressive owes up to the accident, then we pay $0.00. If they don't owe up to the accident, we pay $250. But because Progressive is taking their time, (I really have no idea if they are even working on this claim...) we have to pay 1/2 a grand as victim. It would have been cheaper for us to not have read the license plate on the hit-and-run car than to read the plate if insured by Progressive. We are not happy with the slow pace of Progressive on this. We are certainly sharing this situation with friends and family. This is NOT a good car insurance company!

I really wanted to like Progressive, since "Flo" is my college's most famous alumnus. It's kinda sad... But anyway, compared to my previous wreck experience, I can say that Progressive has no idea what they're doing, except that they refuse to properly compensate the not-at-fault party. I was rear-ended at a stop light. First problem was that the insurance co. did not contact me. I had to seek them out, because it turns out that their agent assigned to my case had left the company weeks before, despite her voicemail still taking messages. I was later told by an Enterprise agent that this happens a lot, "the left hand doesn't know what the right hand's doing." It seems their business model is based on a McDonald's mentality, churning through employees so that they can cut corners.

Okay. Then, I brought the car in for an appraisal. It was nice not to wait for long, but they gave an estimate based on exterior damage only. That's worthlessly low, also they checked for the cheapest possible aftermarket parts. The real estimate from a different body shop was four times as much. My car was totaled. The result being that I had to take a check. When they handed me the check, it was three thousand. Which is almost two thousand less than their own researched comparable cars due to various "adjustments," and downgrading my car's condition excessively, and locating those expensive replacement cars over a hundred miles away. I've spent hours researching, and honestly, it's impossible for me to find a comparable car on CRAIGSLIST.

And because I'm not at fault, they don't have to listen to a separate appraisal. I spoke to the new representative and third parties several times and ultimately I have no recourse. And my extended rental expires after just a week (during which I can't take off work). Thank you so much for ** me over. I have no ill will towards the driver, just the insurance co. because during my last fender bender, also not-at-fault, the agent just let me get a third party estimate and cut a check. That was a small business, this is big business, so don't expect to be treated like a accident victim, more like prey.

A few weeks later, I get a notice they canceled my insurance. They never processed my payment, never called me for an explanation of why the payment didn't go through my canceled bank account. Someone should have been able to accommodate me and keep my insurance in place. Then to top it all off the state I reside in penalized me for a lapse in my insurance. To the tune of $88. Progressive needs to reevaluate their processes. Geico provides exceptional customer service and because they wanted my business back, was able to insure me for less than Progressive. Progressive will never see my business again and I will be sure everyone I know avoids doing business with them. We went ahead with their recommendation of Safelite thinking it be a safe bet. I was made an appointment with Henry for next day. I chose to have them visit me as I was at work but more available to meet outside. Henry showed up earlier than the appointment time, spoke with him and he told me it was a easy fix but on VERY rare occasion the tools used to fix crack may cause a bigger crack. He kept reassuring me it was very RARE occurrence my window would be fixed within 15 to 20 min. He said I didn't need to be out with him just needed to unlock door oh and before he can work I needed a signature to get permission to work on car. 1 min later I get a call from him saying he had very bad news, that the window cracked more and will need to be replaced.

With my Progressive Insurance my deductible for service is 1000! When I asked him what happened he gave me some lame excuse on the line of the crack made it worse. I told him I would have to pay 1000 through my insurance! He said he was very sorry but could quote me a cheaper price for a replacement if I had went straight through his company. He gets on the phone and tells me he could get me a replacement for 500 bucks. Like as if I am gonna be happy with half off! It went from no fees to stop the crack from spreading to 1000 for copay to 500 with Safelite.

I felt as if he looked at my BMW and my 1000 copay and figured he make some money through the company by making the crack worse and that I be like ok 500 dollars here you go! I didn't have 500 much less 1000 to pay which is why I went to my insurance. Now I am here with a big crack in my window where it was just a slither before. I can't go through my insurance now and refuse to go back to Safelite and have to still pay money to fix my window! Risking a ticket while I locate a trustworthy window replacement!

When I called to complain to insurance company and Safelite I was told that because I signed the agreement I was out of luck and had to just deal with fees or find another retailer. I will be changing insurance as well. I feel I was done dirty by both Safelite and Progressive. Progressive customer service did not try to help me in my situation, and all they could tell me is I chose the wrong window coverage when signing up for my insurance initially. When I first called them they did not even tell me I had the wrong window coverage in first place. I have been a loyal customer and only ever made one claim yet they did not even try to understand my situation, basically said you stuck out of luck!

First off, I've been a customer for a long time. I loved Progressive and never had any issues until now. But here goes, I'll try to keep it as short as possible. I was in a car accident. Someone rear ended me. It was bad. My car was totaled. Progressive rented me a car for a total of 7 days. In between that 7 days, my car was deemed totaled. My claims rep went ahead and advised me to take my car off my policy. I was assured I would still be covered with the rental. I did as I was told. I also made sure to ask customer service when I called and cancelled. They also said I would be covered. Even though I called to cancel my car off my policy 5 days after the accident, Progressive ended my full coverage the day after my car accident. I called to end my coverage 5 days after the accident. Well I ended up taking the rental back to Enterprise because there was a crack in the windshield.

I file another claim. When the glass claims rep called me from Progressive, she didn't hesitate to tell me I no longer was covered and therefore Progressive was closing my claim. I tried explaining my situation and she didn't care one bit about what I had to say. I call customer service back a few days later and again, was told I should be covered, even though I took my car off the policy, the rental was to cover my car for the time being. And yes, they said even though the car was cancelled, the rental would still be covered because Progressive rented the car, and the rental agreement was set up from Progressive. After being assured they sent me to glass claims management. Of course, they say the same, I was not covered, but they would leave my glass claims rep a message to call back. I did ask where it states that in a situation like this does Progressive no longer cover. I asked the right questions during all this and it seems as though I've been burned.

I've been a loyal customer for years and am very upset to see how I have been treated from the glass claims rep. Being told way too many different things. Now I'm stuck with a bill that Progressive had promised to cover, but in the end, I'm all alone here. So what am I making payments for then? It's very upsetting! Who can I talk to that can clarify this. And where does it state that I am no longer covered. Why back date my cancellation. I have a great driving record. No issues, and if Progressive wants to keep their good drivers, then they really need to commit to their promises. If anyone could help me figure out what to do, please let me know. It's been very stressful. I've always loved Progressive and never had any issues until now.

I recently switched from Liberty Mutual to Progressive to have similar coverage with a savings of almost $300 per year! The little gadget they send to you where you plug it in under your left hand side dash - never knew the receptor port would be pre-installed. Maybe this is also where they connect for engine diagnosis. Any way, the gadget monitors your driving habits and breaking patterns. At first it was pissing me off for "hard" braking but in reality, I was traveling too close to other drivers. It was an easy adjustment in my driving behavior.

We were driving at night and happened to notice a tree that fell down across the road. We slammed on brakes, but ended up running it over. My abs light came on but the bags did not come out. The brake light came on as well as the abs light. Then we definitely something wrong with the underneath of the truck as well. I waited for police to take care of tree as well as get a report number for insurance. I have been paying full coverage for months so there shouldn't be any issues. I received a call from a Progressive agent in Ohio that set up an appointment for me to take my truck in to have an estimate. Later the same week I received a call from another agent telling me to bring my truck to a different service center and he would meet me there. I had to get out of work early to meet him. I arrived at the service center and the agent checked the truck out not the service center.

He crawled under the truck and had no idea what he was doing. I questioned him about the fact the mechanic from that service center wasn't putting it on a hoist and looking at it. He then went on to say the air bag light being on was no big deal. He said I would have to bring it to a GM dealer. COMPLETE WASTE OF MY TIME!!! I dropped it off at a GM dealer a couple days later for them to look at damage. The dealership called me and said the front end was bent and had to replace parts before aligning the truck to see all the damage in the steering etc. A different insurance agent called me and said the dealership told him the damage was from wear and tear and the abs as well as other lights on was existing. Progressive didn't want to fix anything. I called the GM dealer and they repeated what the agent said. I was very angry and told them I didn't want them to fix anything I would do it myself.

They told me it would cost me $45 to pick up my truck. Upon arriving to get my truck, I had to pay an additional $45 because I didn't want them to do the work. I would say Progressive is giving these dealerships a kickback for ripping off the people that pay for insurance coverage religiously and pay through the nose for full coverage. If you live in Michigan and need to have a vehicle checked out, beware of Midway Chevrolet in Plainwell. Apparently they are in Progressive insurance's pocket. It's sad really. We are waiting for check then cancelling with Progressive because we haven't really saved any money since they are dishonest and rip people off that work hard for their money.

On October 2, 2016, I purchased an insurance policy with Progressive insurance. As a part of my policy, I purchased Sign and Glide insurance to cover boat towing should our boat become disable. I did not purchase additional towing services because I paid for this premium and considered those cost when selecting Progressive to insure my boat.

On January 14, 2017, my boat became disabled and I was stranded in the middle of the river. I called Progressive from the disabled boat. I was transferred three times before being given a different phone number to call. That process took 22 minutes. I then called the second number provided to me. After being transferred three additional times, the fourth person attempted to transfer me again. Upon explaining what had occurred, he placed me a hold and called himself. Eventually, I was patched into a phone call with Sea Tow to come and get my boat. I was told my insurance would cover the towing cost as it is a part of my policy. The second call took 38 minutes.

When Sea Tow called, Sea Tow informed me that Progressive was refusing to pay for the service and I would have to pay for the service myself. I did as I had no choice given I was on a disabled boat in the middle of a busy river. I ultimately waited more than two hours for a service that was readily available 20 minutes away. I cannot stress enough what poor customer service I received from Progressive. Of the eight persons I spoke to with Progressive, two were helpful. The fact that I had to speak to eight people alone to get assistance speaks volumes to the poor level of assistance offered by Progressive.

When it came time for Progressive to go after the other driver's insurance co for the deductible... of course they claimed the collision was not their driver's fault. I had a police report stating I had the right of the way with pictures to PROVE that the other driver was at fault! I STILL had to pay the $500.00 deductible (which I did not have to give) and was told that it will be taken to arbitration for the cost to be reimbursed to me. I feel like they are not fighting for something that was entirely not my fault. Let's just say I will more than likely be dropping Progressive Ins. I've had Progressive auto insurance for several years and never had a problem with them. That's because I never had to deal with them. They were the cheapest insurance so I kept them. Well, the meaning of "you get what you pay for" hit me hard. Over Thanksgiving weekend my car wouldn't start and I was stranded out of town. As a woman, I felt it important to have roadside assistance and I paid extra for this service. Well, imagine being a woman stranded in the desert and your insurance company never sends help. I waited 4 hours and still no help. All I got was the runaround - "they should be there, call them directly, there's nothing I can do." I was so upset I had to call a tow truck on my own - who got there in 20 minutes.

While I was waiting I asked Progressive, "Why am I paying you for a service that you won't provide? How can you leave a woman stranded in the desert like this??" I asked them to cancel my roadside assistance on my policy and they did so with an attitude. When I tried to get reimbursed for the $50 tow truck, Progressive denied the claim stating that I had canceled my roadside assistance that day. Are they crazy? They left me stranded with no help and do this?

I got USAA insurance the following week. When I called Progressive to cancel, they actually asked why. I told them and they inquired on who my new insurer was. When I told the rep it was USAA, they just said, "Oh they're really good." I let USAA know what happened and they assured me the average wait for help is 20 minutes and they would never leave a woman stranded on the side of the road. If you actually want roadside assistance when you are stranded, pick another insurance company.

On December 17, 2016, I became a hit and run victim. The other driver plowed into my car trying to merge into traffic running me off the road. When I safely pulled over out from harms way from hitting other cars, the other driver was nowhere in sight, so I called the police. Two witnesses who observed the accident came to see if I was ok and gave me the information of where the other driver took off to as well as details pertaining to make, model and license plate of his car. The information was given to the police and once the police came they found the other driver around the corner from the accident where his car died. The police went to see about the other driver, they came to talk to me, soon after explaining the other driver was arrested due to finding him in the act of smashing a pipe that consisted of an illegal substance and for being impaired.

I was given a police report and instructed to call his insurance (Progressive) to file a claim and get assisted. I did so immediately after, and because this was on a weekend, they explained there would be nothing they could do but process the claim. I was forced to drive my car home in such poor condition (deployed airbag, bent wheel and the entire driver's side bashed in). Once at home I was in so much pain and had no one to take me to Emergency Hospital for assistance, I was forced once again to drive my car and take myself. After being treated for my injuries, I went to my car to leave and my car wouldn't start. I had no choice but to overdraft my account for a tow truck to get me and my car home.

The following day a claims representative by the name of Brittney ** with Progressive called me for more information concerning the car. She arranged for their towing yard to pick up my car and when I asked for a rental she said they would have to contact their client in getting his statement (you know the one that was arrested) before issuing me a rental and that she would get back to me. Later on that week she calls to tell me my car was beyond repair. When asked if I could get a rental so that I would not lose my job, she said they can issue me a rental good for two days after they get a police report and are able to speak to their client. After days on end of excuses, missing days and hours from work, unanswered or return phone calls from Brittany, I decided to contact a law firm in handling my case. I felt I was not getting anywhere with Progressive.

According to my claim online with Progressive, their client was found at fault. A letter for victims services was sent to me by mail with their client's charges for hit and run plus DUI, explaining my rights. However it's now January 11, 2017 and I have yet to receive my settlement from Progressive for the total loss and damages for my car.

According to my claim on their webpage everything is complete except for payment details. They tried to award me for just the value of my car plus 10 days (even though it's been at least a month) of being without a car. But I have other out of pocket expenses owed such as the towing and overdraft fees that receipts were sent to them for, but they claim they never received. Receipts that were sent via email from my law firm which I also received a cc for at least two weeks ago. According to my law firm my claim representative at Progressive has now conveniently took a vacation and her supervisor is looking for my paperwork. LOL. Waiting on Progressive for assistance almost cost me my job. They are as irresponsible as their client who ran me off the road. Don't trust them!! To get help with getting another car I am now seeking assistance with a 24 HR settlement loan office to get a loan to buy another car. Sincerely, Progressive is a joke.

Progressive is denying fault for an accident my daughter was involved in. It is clearly their client's fault but they are trying anything just to not have to pay her repairs. Because of this it goes to arbitration. Now it's been 3 weeks, our car is still wrecked, and my daughter has to walk alone in the dark and cold to and from the bus each day to be able to go to work. Nice job Progressive. How do you sleep at night. Hope it feels good to screw people over. No conscious for anyone there. Never have my business.

I hit a deer. Progressive Insurance first said they were going to total the car because the air bag had deployed. Then decided not to because my car was worth too much. Three different adjusters said it would be fixed in two weeks. Two months later and I'm still waiting due to back ordered air bag parts. I called and asked if they could pay my deductible because it was taking a lot longer than expected. A flat 'no' was given. My reasoning is I have paid two car payments. Three different adjusters said it would only be two weeks to repair my car. They are not reasonable or helpful. This whole experience was bad. There roadside assistance to pick up the car even lost the car initially. I should have known right then this claim was going to be a ordeal.

I am a low income person who is currently on public assistance because of physical limitations. Before you use a stereotype know that I served my country and worked for over twenty-five years before I needed assistance. I am currently in a mandatory job search program administered by Gloucester County Social Services (New Jersey). Since I can't take the bus I recently scouted online for automobile insurance so that I can continue to attend the job search and keep my benefits until I can rejoin the work force. Progressive was the lowest down payment by twelve dollars over GEICO. It doesn't seem like much but I get 140.00 a month. When I went to the website to buy it I ran into a typical problem for low income people. Progressive was willing to take my down payment from my debit card but they insisted that the subsequent payments be tied to a checking account.

Most low income people do not have a checking account because it is not practical. I used to have one when I was working, but since I now get 140.00 put directly on a card the fees and need were unnecessary. Progressive WAS willing to take my payments from my debit card eventually, but the down payment went from 85.00 to over 100.00 and the overall policy cost went up. When I asked why it went up the kid just told me that "this is how we do it." Since debit payments are just as "paperless" as a checking account I can see where this policy can be construed as just giving people with a checking account a more favorable rating while once again victimizing the people who can least afford it.

I still think the prices are too high though. They need to not charge so much. They do need to educate you about your policy better. Their prices start out really good and then they raise them after the first 6 months to be just below everyone else's. It's kind of a crock. Their customer service is very nice and helpful for the auto part. Just don't talk to their homeowner's insurance. They don't know what they are talking about.

I did have some trouble getting medical expenses covered although they were part of my policy. Car insurance is a necessity, and Progressive has done an adequate job in making this necessity accessible. They make changing policy options easy through their online website.

You have access to people too if you need to chat online or phone so these are value added services. The customer service team is generally knowledgeable. I have on occasion needed to call more than once to obtain information about the same topic since I was not confident with the first answer provided. One week after that was fixed, I received an email from their underwriting staff stating that I had not "received their best" and that my monthly bill would be even higher than it had been before. They give the bare minimum coverage, at the highest possible price. Their Snapshot plug-in will penalize people that drive at night or in bad traffic.

There was absolutely no value in this company. I received state minimum coverage for $145 per month. I suffered this fleecing for a year, when I received a call from State Farm. They would not offer my current coverage, simply because it was not enough insurance. My limits are doubled, and I pay $86 per month. Great dealing with an honest company that cares for their customers. Liked knowing that in case of an accident I was covered and the process wouldn't be a hassle. Everyone I spoke to was friendly and very helpful. Never felt as if I was getting the runaround like a lot of customer service departments. Very cheerful and willing to help.

Always go above and beyond to answer questions. I witnessed my friend run a claim that I knew would be rejected. They didn't give him a hard time but processed and reviewed it like a claim that would be accepted. Amazing, honest, nonjudgemental.

My car was damaged in an accident and I took it to a couple of body shops for quotes - all approved by the Progressive adjuster assigned to me. I selected the shop with the best reviews, which also happened to be the lowest quote. Progressive said okay. I dropped the car off on Mon. Progressive showed up Tues and proposed a totally inadequate fix. On Wed, the body shop showed why it was an adequate fix. Progressive showed up Thurs to re-assess, at which point there was only one solution. Progressive called me on a Fri and told me the car was being returned to pre-loss condition and they were taking care of it. The work was done the following Mon. On Tues, I spoke to the body shop for a status and they said they were waiting on Progressive. On Wed, Progressive called me to say they were not paying for it and that the body shop would not release the car until the work was paid for, i.e. I paid for it.

This is a total sham. I pay for insurance and I still have to pay for the repairs even after Progressive explicitly stated they were covering it. Will be canceling my auto and car policies with Progressive and will find a more honest company. I will also be reporting Progressive to the Better Business Bureau in addition to discussing a fraud action with my lawyers.

The company was quick to process my claim. It only took a week. I received the check quickly and my life never skipped a beat. I didn't have any hassles or problems. Full coverage on my car. I opted in anger. Got the gap coverage they offered. Very affordable. The representatives are friendly and completely understanding. I was hardly working at the time. So they offered a cheaper rate for my full coverage and additional coverage. No spikes or undisclosed fees. Wonderful rates!! Everyone was completely understanding to the urgency in helping me get my claim through. I only had to speak with them once, and everything was taken care of.

Once you call about the claim first thing they ask is if you have access to a computer. They want you to do everything on line which is not so bad but I rather talk to a representative myself. Feels better like they should be able to help you. It was a long process but overall it was not so bad. They did the job. I feel like they really don't want to tell you about all the discounts they offer. I've been with them long enough for them to give me a break. I have a good driving and payment record. I think it covers me and my family well enough. And the coverage is OK. It's a little pricey but I'm working on trying to get it lowered. Customer service is good. They always have friendly workers but I notice that the only thing is that they don't really tell you how you can save money unless you ask.

It's really easy to get in contact with claims agents and they are quick to help with whatever issue I'm having and if I need to be towed they are quick to send a tow truck out to my location. I love that you can get the amount of coverage you need and if you don't have any accidents and a safe driver they reward you for that and I feel they are very fair in their pricing. I feel like because of the type of coverage I have that the price is great and a lot cheaper than other auto insurance companies and I love that I'm rewarded on my driving habits. I love that I can either get help online or over the phone and whenever I've had to call I've only been put on hold for a short period of time and helped quickly.

I called the claim center and they sent someone to my house. He inspected my car. The next day a flatbed tow truck took my car to the dealer. It took a long time for the dealer to make the repairs - 31 days. The main problem was that the repairs weren't complete and I had to send it back to the dealer. Progressive didn't want to provide me with another rental car while the repairs were being completed. I had to work it out with the dealer.

I have full coverage. That includes collision, uninsured motorist, hospitalization. I drive a sports car without a spare tire. The insurance policy includes towing. I have compared my Progressive policy with various other companies. It has been my experience that it is the lowest cost for the same options. The customer service department has always been willing to listen and have tried to solve any of my concerns. They weren't always able to solve my problems but that was the dealer who had created the problem to begin with.

Fast claims. Twenty-four hours a day. Adjuster gives good rate. Several ways they get in contact with you: by phone email or text. I have full coverage because of a lien and rate is pretty good compared to others. I have full coverage on three vehicles. Good coverage. Rate isn't too high so I guess I would say I have good value. Value is worth what you pay. Listens to what I have to say, gives me the best choices and options and suggest what is best for me. Friendly and courteous on the phone.

They even offered assistance to find another vehicle. They respect money-saving goals so their coverage isn't outrageous. They offer discounts and promotions which I love. I like the fact they don't try to sale you into anything you can't afford or are uncomfortable with. Great value. Totally worth going with Progressive because when anything wrong happens, they have your back 100% of the time. If my whole family had my input, they would all have Progressive Insurance. Was expensive even for never having any issues. Easy to sign up. Easy online pay. Paid $130 for full coverage and never had to use it so I switched to something cheaper. I'm sure if I had an accident it would be more than worth it but I'm a safe driver. They were nice and rather helpful. Talked over Facebook and after moving states and back again they helped me get hooked back up. It was easy.
