I got into an auto accident 08/30/17. The accident was solely the fault of the Progressive Ins company's insured. I did have to have several months of doctor visits and physical therapy for my shoulder. Every step of the way, I tried to stay in contact with them. It was near impossible to get a hold of the agent representing me and no other agent could access the claim so they were unable to help. No matter how many times I told the agent when I was available to talk, she would always call on Friday at 11a or 12p during work hours. This has been one headache after another trying to get the claim settled. I have been without a car because of this and was not paid enough to afford another car. My husband got a car soon after and we have them as our insurance provider. But they do not treat us any better. I am switching. They will get no more money from us.

I love this insurance company more than Geico. It is better. I've had them before and the price is great and the coverage is the same as I was getting at a higher rate. It saves us money but also keeps my coverage dependable. I also like the rates not increasing for no reason. It has been a good experience and I love that I switched to them.

They were the cheapest auto insurance we could get. We are poor and you don't care about poor people. Only rich white people get your best deals. How you sleep at night, I don't know. They fought us on a claim so badly it took month and threats of a lawyer to get them to pay. The accident wasn't even my fault. A drunk guy blew through a red light and t-boned me. Insurance companies are ** and they care nothing about anything but making more money. They will lie to get more money from you.

They have comparable coverage and an easy to use website. The claim service is efficient and fair. It was also easy to add my daughter onto our policy when she got her permit. But I wish they had a safe driver bonus and new car replacement.

I purchased my policy online through the website which was easy to maneuver and user friendly. The policy was easy to purchase, documents are easy to understand and easy to communicate with company. Progressive handled our accident claims wonderfully. Paid our claims and is going after the uninsured driver who caused accident. They have very quick responses and the adjuster was easy to work with. Representative were easy to work with and efficient. They have knowledge and there was good communication. But our premium has gone up significantly even though we were not at fault for accident. I wish there was more discounts or options to lower premium payments.

I like their commercials. Flo is hilarious and has become a marketing icon. I like that I can set my own due date and that I am able to pay online. And I like their electronic app so I don't have to carry paper copies of insurance copies in my car. The price is fair and the online system is easy to use. It's also easy to set up online. I have checked prices on other sites and Progressive normally ends up having the best prices. But I wish you didn't get penalized for not paying a full six months in advance. It's unfair in my opinion. I also wish the renters’ policy was priced competitively and could bundle with my automobile insurance... it would make everything much easier. It's not so I use another company.

The process was very easy and understandable. They made it easy to set up and had good auto pay systems we could connect to our card. I liked the customer service very much. They were usually always very helpful when I had a problem or had to delay a payment or if I had questions they would answer them for me. It was very nice. But I did not like the thing they have some people put in their cars to monitor them. But I didn’t mind putting it in and it was fine, but if I went over a certain speed like if I was on the highway it would beep at me or go off a lot, and then go off again while slowing down.

Progressive covered my car and any rental car I drove. But my insurance rate went up every six months even though I have had no accidents or tickets. And I never got any rewards or anything besides rates going up. I did not feel valued as a customer. Nevertheless, I liked that I had insurance and the overall experience was good. They refunded my unused time with their insurance policy. They had good customer service reps and it was easy to get a hold of them. I was satisfied with service and plan, just not my rate.

When filling out the application, trying to recall all moving violations over the past 3-5 years is difficult when this should be easily accessed online with my driver’s license number, wish it was automatic. But everyone I spoke to on the phone was very helpful, and claims were easily filed. I totaled my car and they were very responsive in getting me a rental. Checks issued were received quickly. They even recommended a place where I could take my car when my windshield had a crack to replace it affordable since I wasn't going to be going through insurance for it. But I don't like that everything is online. There is no building you can drive to to talk with an agent in person. I’ve also experienced a significant increase in my policy after the first year. But overall, I would recommend them.

They have easy approval. Other companies denied me because of my short driving history but Progressive picked me right up. They don’t care about driving record they insure everyone. The snapshot is one of my favorite things to get a lower rate. It doesn’t give you that much of a discount but every little bit helps. The customer service is pretty good when you have to call in you don’t have to wait long. I love that the roadside assistance is very affordable. But the premiums are too high. I feel as though if you have a accident free driving record you shouldn’t have to be penalized for other drivers. I wish it has better discounts for clean driving records and storage of vehicle. Also, I’m not happy with the e-signature forms. I was forced into a higher fee because I didn’t understand the paperwork so I didn’t sign it but what I didn’t know was no signature meant automatic sign up.

I needed insurance, went online and got the insurance. Just got my cards through email and then paid my bills. The process seemed simple enough. Can be done online and is convenient to use. Worked for me and what I needed at the time. It was a fine and uneventful experience. But the bills kept getting higher and higher that is why I had to leave them but served the purpose.

Progressive was easy to contact and they responded in a timely manner. They were understanding and had great customer service. They were very nice over the phoneHowever, they were a bit pricey and we found a cheaper company to get our insurance from. Liability was even expensive. They should advertise a little more to expand their business. But overall, we had a good experience with them. I would recommend them. If we hadn't found a cheaper place we would still be with Progressive.

The insurance was very easy to purchase. I did it all online and had coverage in minutes. It was nice to be able to get coverage from the convenience of my own home. Progressive also sent via email my temporary proof of insurance, which I could immediately print out and take with me until my real one arrived via mail. And I really liked that the insurance was cheap. Being the first insurance policy I had ever had, and given my age, the policy could have been significantly more expensive. However, I hated that Progressive decided to raise my coverage rate without telling me about it. I had the payments automatically deducted from my back account and I always only put in enough money for the payment. So when they raised it, it overdrafted my bank account and cost me hundreds of dollars.

Progressive is the one to go with. Everything is great about them and we have had no problems with them. They answer our calls and respond very quickly. Also, they do not go up after our renewal. I love the way they do stuff. I do not plan on switching companies as I have finally found a great company. Progressive has been amazing to my family and we haven't had this much great service in a long time.

I was referred to Progressive through my brother. I had them for over a year though and throughout that year they were a great company. I was able to pay online. I was able to talk to someone if I needed to. Also, they helped me through a claim when I was in a car accident. They also paid for the other people medical bills. Overall they stuck to what they were supposed to do. No surprises were ever brought up. Progressive was very helpful and easy to get a hold of but they were just too expensive. My monthly payments were the highest they ever been and I've never even had a speeding ticket. Other companies offered the same type of insurance but a lot less money. I was on my own so I was trying to budget my money. I was just trying to find an insurance company that was half the payment I was paying.

I purchased Progressive Auto Insurance online and it was very easy, quick and convenient. I like their easy online account and policy management. I also can send ID cards to a fax machine from my phone which is really helpful. Phone service helpful also meaning I can pull my cards up for viewing. The only issue I have is the tort issue. I feel that a new policy holder should have to watch a presentation or talk to an agent before making the choice between tort and limited tort. Even now as I have had to work with the insurance company I am still not clear on the tort laws. I am not happy with my policy partially due to tort laws in PA and partially due to cost. I am paying a lot for really nothing but staying legal.
I live in PA. I picked limited tort. Moved from Ohio, website was not clear about tort. Then my daughter was in car accident and I found out my policy is junk. She was in a friend's car that was insured but because of the limited tort it all goes on my policy and you cannot try to collect damages from person who caused the accident. She has scars on her face which may qualify her for a settlement. We are still in process. Her next appointment is 4/18. One year after accident. Then we will get more information about treatment and such. I switched from Geico to Progressive because it was cheaper. I guess you get what you pay for.

Progressive Auto Insurance has been great with the price and hasn't gone up a whole lot when adding new vehicles or changing things around on our policy. They also offer awesome discounts when needed or for different things. I like that they have always been the cheapest insurance in our area. They make sure to get the best deal possible for you and your family. Hopefully they will be better the next time I need to talk to them about my concerns.

I like Progressive Insurance. I contacted an insurance broker who checked many companies and Progressive was the only company who would insure me without insurance prior to purchase even though I did not have insurance because I did not own a car. Progressive had the lowest available premium and they reviewed every six months. Each time they review the policy the premium gets lower. Also like that I can make monthly payments at the office and do not have to do EFT.

I like the price, without sacrificing the coverage that I need for insurance. I was able to tweak my coverage line by line. I can easily get someone in the phone without having to go through a very long phone tree. Progressive is great and customer service is helpful but I would improve email response time or offer an online chat forum in place so you can ask a simple question without having to call.

Purchasing the policy was very easy. A simple phone call and some personal information and we easily got the coverage we needed. The call didn’t take too long either. The company has good pricing and good coverage as well. The online services are easy to use and it has an app to access proof of insurance. The coverage is comparable to other main companies too. However, some of my experience with having to deal with customer service was frustrating. I also needed a hard copy of the insurance card and it wasn’t as simple to find online as I would have liked. I would like it to be easier to find claim info online.

They have great rates, coverage is awesome and they have the best customer service around! When we call with a claim, a concern or even a question, they always take the time to make sure we are comfortable and satisfied with the outcome. Every time we have needed something they have been more than accommodating. They are incredibly helpful and never made us feel like we are just a number or a bother. But they can always make the rates more affordable and maybe offer more options to all of their consumers. Having good coverage affordable is hard to get here. But Progressive is a great company!

We went through a local insurance company who searched for and got the best deal for us. I like it that we know and have a personal relationship with a person in charge of our policy. Progressive happened to be it. Progressive has been very decent to us and it has always worked quite well for us. Communication is clear, service representative is local and readily available, they work well with local mechanics and body shops, they are always willing to randomly fax a copy of my card to Belfast City Hall when I register the car, and there are great incentives like paperless billing that lower your bill. We have both of our cars covered through Progressive. I have been in car accidents, though not in a long time, and I am grateful for insurance for that reason. Deductibles are kind of a drag but you have that with any insurance.

We have tried other insurances companies in the past, but went with Progressive because they were/are cheapest. We recently added homeowners to our policy. I love the discount for bundling. We've always had a good experience with them and I love that we get a discount for being paperless. I also love that I can access the policy and make changes right from my phone. Maybe someday we will be able to bundle the motorcycle policy in with the car, instead of having two different policies. We've been with Progressive for several years now. Someday I would like to try the snapshot and hopefully pay even less. Overall they are a great company and we are satisfied.

I love the rate, the ability to talk to an agent that's local and close way to get there. Not far from my home. Price isn't too bad and the plan that I asked for was a good plan as what I needed. No more no less so I have no problem. I called first agency and talked over a few plans with them then I decide to make a visit where I sit down and talk to an agent and the agent told me some good things that I could live with the sitter and what I should look for and I really like what the plan but she came up for me. Progressive's customer service and roadside assistance are good. Their online access is good too because I can make payments quick and with ease. I like to pass the wait time and make the payment myself. I also like the fact you can change the due date as that gives you more flexibility to match your payday. But there could be more options that are easy to set the policy up online. It can get a bit confusing when trying to decide the best policy for your budget. But the service was fast and easy to sign up for. I signed up for it online and printed the paperwork off at my home. It makes it easier when customer service has a long wait time.

Cheaper rates for companion and myself. I get the coverage My friend and I need without paying for single coverage which would make it quite difficult for me since I make very little income. When I had a flat tire after work one night they sent a great guy, who not only changed my flat but went and filled up the spare for me too. The local agent will find many ways to decrease your coverage costs and search for discounts that may be available to you. However, the downloadable app needs improved. Especially while standing in line at the DMV - there needs to be complete access to the coverage, policy number and length of coverage. The app could expedite the length of time at the DMV.

I called managers and gave all my information yet they have said the money must have gone to another policy to another person meaning I paid somebody random their insurance. I had to get insurance with Geico. The Progressive guy called me back today basically saying they can't find the money as if me and my family paid $500 a month to give it away.
I am so angry I can't even understand how can Progressive think I am just going to accept losing all that money that was not applied to my account. I faxed bank statements and have a confirmation and they have not bothered to research. I had to pay registration and they put me in collections. I was hit in the back qtr panel in Aug. Wasn't my fault. The other driver wasn't ticketed cause it happened in a "private" parking lot. These idiots sent me a check for the deductible amt instead of sending it to the repair shop. When I received the check I called and inquired about it. "Oh yeah you can use it. It's yours to spend". Come to find it it needed to be sent to the repair shop instead of me after spending it so I was outta pocket $500 on their stupid behalf. I wanted to go after her insurance company but told, "Thats what full coverage is for. It's a no-fault state". Huh?
Idc I was hit and it wasn't my fault why must I go through my insurance. My rate was slightly raised after that even though I wasn't at fault. I hate to be in an accident paying for the roadside assistance that I'm currently paying and then they refuse to tow. I hate State farm but I hate Progressive more. They were once a decent company but not anymore. There's no communication from the claim adjusters. Save yourself the trouble. All these insurance companies are a complete rip off. My experience with my policy was not bad until the complete lack of responsibility of handling the cancellation. Holding someone's money for 12 days is not reasonable, nor is giving then different stories when they call. We were hit by an SUV while parked in a parking lot. My car was pushed into my teen son spraining both his knees, both hips and straining his lower back. He had six weeks of medical treatment, E.R., MRI, physical therapy, etc. Both drivers had Progressive. The SUV was at fault per police & Progressive. He even left the scene of an injury accident & refused to give identifying info or insurance. I had to track him down. Progressive told me they’d treat it like 2 different agencies and I’d have an adjuster to help us along the process. Nope. After I made the claim I never heard from my “adjuster” & when I called her she said the only adjuster is the other driver’s adjuster! One adjuster raised her voice at me & tried to intimidate me, said she had all the photos they needed from their other customer. And unless I had photos from the scene of the accident to prove what car the other driver had I didn’t know what I was talking about. WHAT?
Remember, they're at fault, driver left the scene of an accident that involved an injury of my child? I didn’t have time to take photos. He was gone within 10 minutes of hitting me and declaring there was no damage. He certainly didn’t have photos needed to show my son’s injuries or car damage. The next adjuster actually said, “he’s young and will heal fast.” Then made an offer: UP TO $5,000 in Medical Bills and $750 for inconvenience, pain and suffering!
They actually put a limit on the medical bills and offered a minimum for my son’s pain and suffering & they refuse to pay our actual out of pocket expenses directly related to the injury. I spoke with 2 managers. Nothing changed. Then another adjuster just gave me a 5 day deadline to submit all medical bills BUT NO ONE at Progressive will return my requests for a list of bills they do have. There are 2 days left. We were their customer for 8 years and had 7 policies (home, auto, etc.). Clearly, we aren’t a valued customer! I would never recommend them to anyone, ever.

I went to file a claim from an accident a few months ago. When I received a check on the mail saying it's a "no fault" accident and "for repairs" to my name. So I deposit the check it to my bank. Few days later I got a "chargeback" and now I am paying for it. Progressive will not reimburse the money you lost. The bank will only reimburse your overdraft fees which is very minuscule. I went to contact my claim representative Nicole **, she gave me a text to call customer service when the letter does say call the claims department about this check. When I called number on the letter of the check it would lead to the claims department. Strange, I called my claim representative Nicole again at least a total of 3 times. She does not pick up phone even on working hours. I called the customer service and they gave me a number to the manager. I also enjoyed a bit of trash talking that the customer service said about Nicole.
What I found odd that when I looked at my online account I saw that I was awarded with a check and I deposited the check, when I got chargebacked the check that I was award online was disappeared. I called the manager Elaine ** and she was also on vacation. I was called a few days later after leaving a message to Elaine and it was someone else than Elaine saying that Progressive can't really reimburse you about the check because I deposited it and it was claim representative that supposed let you know that the check was not for me, but for "another party". Now that doesn't make sense... Nicole never called at all. Just a few things about accident claims: Only the manager and your claims representative can see through your case, so if you go through customer service, they can't help you unless you reach your claim representative or if you reach the manager.
I went to the bank (Chase) and they are helpful about my situation. If you know about chargebacks basically if you cash a check that was given to you by a party (Example: Progressive) they supposed to pay you, but if Progressive say it's an error that the check you cash in, then the money pulled from your bank account hence, "CHARGEBACK". If you use it you end up paying for it because the money is not yours. The bank did tell me that I have to talk to Progressive if I want to get reimbursed. Basically it is a trap, for you to use the check and have to pay off Progressive. No wonder they would avoid their customers if this kind of problem arises.
Progressive can take my chump change to be honest. It seems that their claims department needs help in helping their customers instead just avoiding them doing minimum work for paychecks. The manager as well needs to reach to their customers more often not to send someone else to do it. I am just here to leave an experience and to let anyone know that if you get a check from Progressive from an accident, be sure to contact them if the check is really for you or it's a "human error" of someone in Progressive. Or screw it, don't use progressive auto insurance (notice the "P" has been lowercased).

However, when I called to make the over the phone payment, I was informed that my insurance was canceled and that they did not have my initial call from March 5th in their records. I was then to reinstate my insurance. I was sure about accepting the increase and the cancellation although I called. Additionally, I was never provided a cancellation email or physical letter! So I called my Husband to confided in him as to what should I do. He advised that I pay the increase, so I did.
However, when I call back within 45 minutes, the 1628... I couldn't not believe it! Nevertheless, I purchased the policy but when I went online to print out insurance cards and policy, the policy was written out for $2003... I felt like Progressive bait and switch me into buying that policy. When I called to talk to a representative, she was very useless, so I spoke to a Supervisor by the name of Scott and he was very rude, and resulted to bully tactics when I told him I wanted to cancel my policy. He threatened to call the state and Local Motor Vehicles and report that my Insurance has Lapse. I felt helpless at that moment and felt I had no other choice but to keep the policy at the rate I was suckered into taking!

The amount was very reasonable. Couldn't be happier with the fast efficient way our claim was handled.

The information the police got was vague but it was a rental car. l called Enterprise and they were not helpful so I called Progressive thru which I'm insured with liability on my vehicle. I was frustrated. And my adjuster would not even call and try to help me. I've paid thousands of dollars in premiums and they couldn't even make a free phone call and help me out. If I had full coverage they would have been all over this but they don't have to pay so to hell with me. Just sucks. Really sucks. I didn't ask them to send in the marines. Nope. Just make a simple phone call. Not too much to ask for over a thousand Dollars. This is my roommate's experience. Perfect driver. No tickets.

I was involved in an accident a while back, that was caused by a Progressive policyholder. He was young, he admitted to me that he fell asleep at the wheel. He hit me going about 100 mph. I got checked out by an ambulance, and had to go to the hospital the next morning due to my back, left wrist, and knee being injured. I used to be a claims adjuster for the 2nd biggest insurance company in the world, so I know exactly how the claims process goes. I’ve been told that there is an active coverage condition on this claim, but I've sent in a certified police report, pictures of BOTH cars on the scene of the accident, a picture of the driver’s ID, and I’ve also received another insurance card from the Progressive policyholder, which shows the vehicle he was driving is on an active policy until the end of the month.
I want to point out that my adjuster Chantal was rude, repulsive, unsympathetic, and she has been informing me she will keep me updated, but she has not contacted me even once. I spoke to her manager, who was also rude, unsympathetic, and also unhelpful. It has been several days without a car for me. I called and spoke to a very nice representative who offered to get me to another adjuster since Chantal had already left for the day. I spoke with this adjuster, explained the information and I was belligerently yelled at, and told that if I worked as an insurance agent then I would understand this process. I informed him that I do understand this process, and that anytime there is a coverage condition we ask both the claimant and the policyholder for any proof, which is exactly what I did.
I refuse to go through my own insurance company, because I did absolutely nothing wrong in this accident. Progressive, just a little advice. Train your adjusters to be sympathetic. That’s what I had to learn to do when I was an adjuster. Also, you might grow as a whole if you don’t give every claimant the “run-around”. Also, train your adjusters not to scream at claimants. Thanks.

This place is horrible I would never recommend this insurance company to anybody because 3 years prior somebody ran a red light and hit us in the other truck and Progressive did zero to help except for arguing with me on the phone how they just wanted to pay out because the other person filed a claim 2 months after the incident. It doesn't matter that I have been an Emerald customer most of those 19 years. Of those 5 claims, one was at-fault (my son had a wreck), one was comprehensive (hit a deer), one was uninsured motorist (hit and run) and two were someone else's fault and Progressive was reimbursed all monies put out. Why? I can't get a straight answer from them except, it's not open for discussion and it's a final decision that can't be reversed. I asked to speak with a supervisor and their representative said "It won't do any good, the decision is final and can't be reversed." She finally agreed to have a supervisor call me within 24 hours. They did not talk to the other driver, did not go to scene of accident, did not look at my car to see damages but they determined the same day as accident. I was at fault. Right off the start they blamed me for accident, PROGRESSIVE INSURANCE IS THE WORST INSURANCE! I am a Progressive client since 2011 and as of today I hold Diamond Membership Status. (I am A+ customer with no history of filling car accidents at fault). I was rear ended last week and I filed claim with Progressive on 3/19/2018. (Damages to my car - Audi A5 convertible; rear bumper damages and back up camera not working due to the accident). On Monday 03/26/2018 I have received the phone call from Claim Representative assigned to my case - Alexandria **. She assured me that Progressive will take care to all damages and I was also told that the deductible will be waived since I was not "at fault". The reality was completely different... I was trying to get in touch with ** since Tuesday and she was not returning my multiple phone calls. I called her on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday multiple times!!!
I left few messages and I also sent her text message with request to return my phone calls. At the same time I also called Progressive claim department. The agents who were assisting me said that they have sent an e-mails to ** and her supervisor with request to call me back. One of the agents informed me that based on the Progressive customer service policy all agents are responsible to return phone calls to Progressive customers not later than next day by noon. She never returned my phone calls! On Friday this week I called Progressive again and finally claim department agent transferred me to ** office. She was really not in the mood to talk and her attitude was awful. She had no intention to help to resolve the issue with my car and basically she wanted to end the conversation as soon as possible...
She said that somebody will call me to discuss the next step with my claim but of course it never happened. Nobody deserve to deal with such a poor and useless customer service! My car was not completely fixed by Progressive. I was told that I have to pick up my car from the body shop today - the back up camera was not fixed by Progressive. Also I had to pay deductible - (** said today – “I did not follow up with other party insurance if they accepted liability so you have to pay deductible”). I strongly believe you are a good company. I believe that you care about your customers and you support high quality services. Disrespectful and careless agents are the one who destroy the reputation of your company and at the same time destroy your business. After 8 years of being Progressive loyal customer I am going to leave Progressive just because of this horrible experience.

My wife has been with them since 2004 and I signed on with them in 2007 and her son got on the policy around 2010. It's 2018 and during that 14 year period there was only one claim and that was another car kicking up a big piece of rubber from a truck tire that landed on our hood and scratched the paint. Simple and cheap fix. Then a few days ago my step son was on his way home at night and a raccoon ran out in front of him. He swerved to miss the animal and when he did his right side tires fell off the pavement and since the dirt was so wet from all the rain he got sucked right off the road. He ended up in the field and totaled his car.
My complaint is with their phony GAP insurance. He bought his car (2016 Juke) brand new 2 years ago. He put a couple thousand dollars down, traded in nothing, and used Nissan's financing. He then put full coverage along with their GAP insurance on the car. We were both under the impression that no matter what he owed the GAP insurance would make sure the loan was fully paid off. Wrong answer, unlike other insurance companies Progressive pays you 125% of cash value of the car. They claim based on facts from JD Powers and Associates that his car was worth around $15500. Then Progressive would give him another 25% or around $19375 for the car. I know it may seem petty to complain but he ends up $700 short of pay-off on the car. We can absorb the loss easy enough but it doesn't seem right when you have paid for coverage to take care of that.
You also have to take into consideration that the cash value is not an exact science but someone's opinion and they would not allow me to dispute his findings. He used 5 cars that are for sale but...we live in East Tennessee and one car (with the highest value) was located in our area, the other 4 were from southwest Virginia and North Carolina. Not even from our state. We may have paid a few bucks more but State Farm would have paid it off and Liberty would have given him enough to buy a 2017 Juke. For all those years we have had 3-4 cars on the policy at any one time and paid close to if not over $2000 per year. Will we be staying? Only until this claim is settled...

WORST INSURANCE COMPANY TO GET INSURANCE CARDS FOR THE STATE OF NY WHEN REPLACING A VEHICLE ON YOUR AUTO POLICY. I am a salesman for a car dealership, in which we try to take care of as many things for the customer as possible. One being insurance cards - we call and give the insurance company all of the information that is needed from the VIN, the effective date, the spelling of a customers name, etc. Most companies (except for Progressive) will take the information and then reach out to the customer to confirm coverage, then they send us the ID cards.
From what is suppose to be a very exciting experience buying a new car, turned into a nightmare when I tried to get insurance cards with accurate information. I have been on the phone for hours going back and forth, I have had 10 sets of insurance cards sent to me, every single time it has been wrong, whether it be the correct spelling of my customers' name, address, the effective dates, also kept sending ID card without *Replacement Vehicle* (customer is transferring plates from trade in).
They have put in TWO rush requests to have it fixed. I was suppose to receive the cards within 1-2 hours - waited an entire 24 hours, still no cards. Called them yet again - was on hold for 20 minutes while they searched for the corrected cards. When the rep came back on the phone she says, "Great news! We found them, I will fax them right over." Got the fax, THEY WERE STILL WRONG! Now I have to wait another 2-4 hours for the corrected cards. This is absolutely absurd, no other insurance company I have ever dealt with has ever given me so many issues with correcting ID cards. PLEASE FIX THIS - you have lost my customer to Geico!

I kindly reminded them of the Florida Statute 627.7288 labeled “Comprehensive coverage; deductible not to apply to motor vehicle glass” under the title “Insurance Rates and Contracts,” states that the deductible provision “shall not be applicable to damage to the windshield of any motor vehicle.”
I could of written a bad review based off of that. But keeping a cool head and not flying off the handle yelling and screaming at them and giving them the benefit of the doubt and asking for a supervisor follow up and also speaking at them, NOT DOWN to them like I am better. My claims representative tells me if they hit on my claim instead of the other person's insurance at first my rates will go up on all of my accounts. It's my first accident so I took her word for it. I knew no better. Now being March I'm still in a rental car. My phone calls don't get returned. Neither do my emails. At this point I have had to hire an attorney to not only protect me from the other individuals insurance but my own. I went today to pick up my settled claim check. It was settled at just over $32,000. And they first offered 24,000. I had to fight my own insurance company over the value of my less than two-year-old car. They on multiple occasions, got comparisons from vehicles that were not the same as mine. Failed to actually look up what packages my vehicle had. Even the mileage.
When I went to get the check today I picked it up. Walked out the building that my car and open up envelope I got to the bank. The check was only for $3000 for something that we settled at $32,000. I rushed back as it was almost closing time for their offices which by the way you don't get any face-to-face person. Later action you have to ring the doorbell and talk through a plexiglass screen to interact with anyone. I question them on why the check was only for $3000. They told me that my loan payoff was $28,000 even and then the math would still not be right.
They called my claims adjuster. She verified that my pay off was $28,000 and they told me there was no discussion to be had. I immediately got on the phone and called the bank with whom my loan is through. They verified that my loan payoff was only $8000. I had to stand there fighting and arguing with my own company to not rip me off. I've never been treated so rudely when I question their mistake. I kept my calm, never yelled, rose my voice. They couldn't even apologise. Called the manager. His answer was, "Mistakes happen." So now they are losing all 8 of my accounts and my business accounts as well.

I was with Progressive for several years. My insurance payments were $430.00 a month to cover my two trucks. So a safe guess is to say I paid in over $21,000 to this company during that time. I made one insurance claim during that time. To make a long story short, something snapped in my front end alignment which caused the left front side of my truck to crash to the ground while I was driving it. The wheel even smashed into the driver side door. Progressive was extremely hard to deal with but I finally got my truck towed to the shop. The cosmetics were fixed & it looked brand new. I had an accident 6 days after I got my truck back. I had broken my right leg & ankle so I was unable to walk let alone drive until 4 months later. When I was finally able to drive again I noticed the truck still was not right so I took it back to the shop. Turns out Progressive only replaced a portion of the damage to my front end alignment.
I called the adjuster & they reinspected it. I was told they would not pay for all of the repairs because the rest of the damage was considered normal wear & tear. Having no choice I let them repair what THEY told me they would cover & I came out of pocket to cover some of the additional repairs (but not all). I didn't have the money to pay for it because I was paying them $430 a month! Here I am today with more damage found that should have been fixed in the first place but of course they refused to cover it. Today they are saying the ball joints and tie rod ends that need to be replaced are normal wear and tear and that's why they never fixed it. When a 5,461 lb truck with a 6" lift, going 45 mph crashes to the ground; I think it's safe to say they were damaged! The repairs they did make did not even last 10,000 miles.
I have since changed insurance companies but I want to warn everyone out there that just because you pay your super big insurance payments every month & expect to have full coverage. Does not mean you actually do. They will find the cheapest way to fix your vehicle. After all what do they care? Your broken vehicle doesn't mean THEY don't have a way to get to work so they can pay bills and provide for their family. They charge you an arm and a leg and raise your rates every chance they get. But when you actually need them & expect them to be there they make sure to make your life a living nightmare.

Turns out, signing up with 'Progressive' was dumber. I've been driving my car for 15 years, and I hope to drive this rugged little machine another 15. I don't drive much, and I have a spotless record. I went with 'Progressive' because they have a low-mileage policy. My repair shop is associated with my car dealer, and they gave me a thorough estimate. They told me that it would take three days to repair.
When I took it in, they discovered a little more structural damage. 'Progressive' had their own idea on the extent of the damage caused by the accident. When I went to pick up my car, I was shocked to discover that 'Progressive' was OK with me driving away with a cracked windshield after a front-end collision that resulted from someone else's careless driving. Who was *most* careless? 'Progressive'. What an accident it was to think that 'Progressive' would care for their customer.

Having spent five years as a Progressive customer, there is absolutely nothing positive I have to say about this company. The rewards programs that they claim to offer are nonexistent, and rates steadily increase each renewal cycle. Customer service is unorganized and unhelpful, with most of the agents being in call centers outside the United States. Should you get in an accident, be prepared for this company to look for any cause to deny your claim.
The first time I filed a claim was after I backed my car into a pole. Having just purchased the vehicle, the car had been on my pre existing policy for less than sixty days. Progressive basically accused me of trying to commit fraud, stating it's uncommon for someone to file a claim within sixty days of adding a vehicle, and because I did not file a police report. Generally, you would not file a police report for an at fault accident that doesn’t involve another vehicle. Since no damage was done to the pole, only my car, I did not see cause to file a police report. They went as far as to involve an independent investigation agency. Tired of being treated like a criminal for trying to use my policy, I canceled the claim.
The second time I filed a claim was three years later. I was rear ended by a driver following too closely, causing close to four thousand dollars in damage. I was using my vehicle to deliver food at the time of the accident, so my claim was denied. They stated there was a clause in my insurance that required me to have commercial auto insurance to deliver food, a clause that was never mentioned or discussed with me when I was buying the police. Then to add fuel to the fire, they refused to renew my insurance policy going forward, stating I was not required to have commercial auto if I wanted to continue with Progressive. The cost of commercial was almost three thousand dollars more per year than my existing policy.
I gave many years of faithful business to Progressive and paid them thousands and thousands of dollars. When those moments came when I need Progressive to do what I was paying them to do, they were nowhere to be found. They have proven themselves an untrustworthy company. I have since moved on with a new insurance company, and I couldn’t be more pleased. My rates are lower than they ever were with Progressive, and the rewards are fantastic. Progressive talks a big game, but they failed to produce even an ounce of worthiness. I recommend steering clear of the company. The fact that almost every other major insurance company outranks them, should tell you something.

This is a long story but I'll try and keep it short! My boyfriend and I are co-signed on a silver 2016 Chevy Malibu. We are in Chicago Illinois. He had got into a car accident with a guy who has Progressive, it was the other guy's fault. We contacted Progressive about filing a claim, and we filed a claim at our own insurance. Progressive representative told us that they can evaluate the car and get it fix (if fixable) without us paying the $500 deductible that we would have to pay if we let our insurer take charge. So Progressive towed the car to a third party body shop that took the car COMPLETELY APART, then told us it was totaled out at $12,000. We thought to ourselves there's no way this car is totaled.
The only thing wrong were both front and back driver doors and front and back bumper on driver's side, nothing too crazy. When the representative told us that it was totaled we told them specifically "Thank you for your evaluation, however, we sent pictures to our insurance company and they told us they would fix it. We will not have this car totaled by you guys, we will have a tow truck at the body shop asap to pick the car up and take away for fixing." Progressive agreed multiple times that we can take the car from the body shop. They gave us the body shop number, and location. We gave that information to our insurance. A representative from our insurance went to go get the car two days (because it was a weekend) after Progressive told us we can come get it, and THESE ** TOLD THE THE BODY SHOP TO CALL AN AUCTION CENTER AND RELEASE OUR CAR TO THE AUCTION!!!
This was after they knew we were coming to get the car. Before we knew where our car was, we were given the runaround knowing they sent our car off. When we finally got the information, our insurer picked up the car IN PIECES from the AUCTION and sent it to their body shop. Our insurance only had to pay $3,000 to get it fix plus deductible.
Progressive lies about the damages and stole our car from us for a short period of time. Then the body shop that fixed the car had to order several new parts for the car BECAUSE SOMEONE (Progressive's body shop / or the auction) HAD STOLE PARTS FROM OUR CAR. Now we are at an expense to get the car fixed because there are important parts missing from the car like the catalytic converter, muffler, pipes etc. Mind you the only thing that needed fixing from the car accident were the bumper and driver side doors! All this because Progressive strategically sells your car without your permission. DO NOT FILE A CLAIM WITH THEM AND DO NOT INSURER WITH THEM.

STAY AWAY FROM PROGRESSIVE. They are a dark abyss of bureaucracy and classic, insurance dodging. My wife and I are thoroughly disgusted with our interaction with Progressive. As a recently married couple, our car broke down and we were stranded, waiting to buy a new car and get insurance on it, so we could get back to our home and work. We learned that Progressive would offer us the lowest rates for our new car - what they didn't tell us was that was a farce. We waited for an entire week for them to respond to our auto insurance request, when they had promised two business days.
Some documents they asked for were impossible to supply for a newly-wed couple who had just barely moved into a new apartment. They found out crazy information to try to avoid helping us. They thought my brother-in-law, whom I have never even lived in the same State as, and I may be in the same household and we were asked to confirm that he was not in our household. They were unwilling to drop an accident from my wife's record which had been clearly removed by our courthouse. Overall, Progressive was extremely unhelpful. Recently I received a notification that my term was up, and that I had saved $69 on my upcoming renewal. After logging in, to check my new rates, I found that they had increased by $13.00. My "savings" equated to $11.50 per month, but after I called to see what was going on, I was told that unfortunately, the rates had gone up in my state (TX), and that I had lost my discount for e-filing, whatever that is. So now after driving with Snapshot for 6 months, and being told that I was one of the few people that actually saved money with it, my premiums went up $13.00 a month. My son had over 200 hard brakes etc. and his rates went up about $25. My retired husband saw his rates go up $22. In six months, he had eight hard brakes, never drove after midnight and rarely drove more than 30 miles in a day and yet, his rates went up $22 because, as he was told, HE DID NOT DRIVE ENOUGH!!! Because his car was parked in the garage instead of commuting to work every day, he was penalized! Also, he took one trip of about 500 miles during the first month which, according to the Snapshot booklet, is a baseline and the date is not used in the data. This is my personal experience: Insurance companies are licensed in each state they do business in and MUST adhere to certain rules and regulations set by the banking and/or insurance department of each state. These rules are designed to protect everyone-not just the people that are their customers but the people that have occasion to interact with their customers. They ask certain questions for a reason-to abide by the law and protect EVERYONE, including themselves-NOT to be difficult.
If you are in an accident, you should take your vehicle into either a Progressive-approved shop or one that you choose-NOT just take pictures yourself and send them in UNLESS they instruct you to do so. This is because shop owners are also supposed to be trained, licensed and experienced to evaluate body damage, etc., and make sure the claim is verified by a neutral "third party" to make an unbiased assessment-one that is fair to both sides. If you disagree with the estimate, you can always bring in another adjuster to compare estimates and go from there. Otherwise, how do they know who did what to your vehicle?

I live in Massachusetts where this time of the year there are a lot of accidents due to the weather. You would think with the exorbitant rates that this company charges to have your car on the road, they would at the very least be quick to help in any way possible when your vehicle becomes a victim to these weather conditions. I was traveling on Interstate 95, trying to get myself back home in a timely, but safe, manner. Due to the weather, the roads were icy and the rain that came certainly did not help with the conditions of the road. While trying to exit off the highway, at a slower than normal speed with the addition of snow tires in the rear, my vehicle hit a snow bank that I was fortunate enough to safely get out of. My vehicle today was looked over for inspection, where I found that one my headlights was slightly damaged because of the collision with the snow bank.
I then proceeded to make a claim with Progressive, which they then told me that I was at fault for the accident because they "couldn't place blame on the weather conditions". After explaining to my representative that I did everything within my power to not only slow the vehicle down and try to avoid the collision, but also avoid any type of accident with any other car, they said it was still my fault. When asked if this was a state or insurance law (being at fault), they dragged out their charade of a speech trying to make it seem as though Progressive is the "best of the best" and that they were doing what was in my best interest "get my car back on the road". I'm going in Wednesday to see what this is going to really cost, but I have zero doubt in my mind Progressive is going to do everything and anything to avoid any type of blame and/or put out any kind of payment for it.
They are a scam of an insurance agency. They would rather play games and not pay out a dime, while then jacking up your rate because you called in to do the responsible thing in this type of situation. I cannot believe I did not heed advice from friends and family members when they told me that there is zero accountability with this company. Clearly, they have zero interest in actually providing the services that they advertise commercially. When Googling Progressive for complaints, it will take many hours to read the thousands of dissatisfied customers and victims of their fraudulent operation, which is heavily controlled by the largest stockholder that uses his ill-begotten profits to back terrorist groups against America, the very country that supports him. First rule of dealing with them during any auto accident is DO NOT USE ANY OF THEIR AUTO REPAIR SHOPS. They will first low ball the estimates, stall any payouts and use cheaper non-OEM parts. Second, carefully read every contract they offer for countless exemptions to pay claims. Third, they constantly raise rates without state approval. They also offer insurance coverage on many other areas such as home, boat, airplanes and motorcycles, using the same tactics of non-payment on claims.
In short, they operate as a protection racket that does not protect their customers. Their lobbyist system pays millions to politicians to protect them from the law. My experience with them was with one of their insured drivers that did not have a valid license and left the scene of the accident. I was later told a lie that he was in prison and could not be reached for ten years, thus I could not make a claim until he was released. A letter to the state Insurance department allowed me to make a claim against Progressive, but they insisted on using one of their repair shops that underestimated the damage by over 75%. I of course used my own repair shop and finally got them to pay the claim after several months of unnecessary hardship. I am the victim of a hit and run car. Happens the hit and run person has Progressive Insurance per my insurance co. Progressive Ins. investigator, named Eric from Louisville Ky to ask questions and when I asked questions, I was attacked as a prosecutor does to a criminal on trial and my integrity was questioned and almost called a liar. It was not the questioning as all investigators have to do their job, it was his tone, manner and rudeness. Not an asset to Progressive Insurance at all and a disgrace as an adult with childish behavior.
I am going back to my insurance company and will not recommend Progressive to anyone nor my family is plenty of states via Facebook, Twitter and any way we can get the word. I told my insurance company to remind their investigator when talking to other party, NOT to treat her as a criminal. I was hit by someone who has Progressive. 1 week after a different person who has Progressive hit me and my car was already fixed. I was wanting to handle it before I left the country and I assumed it would be just as smooth, but I was mistaken. I was assigned Robert (Bobby) ** at the Phoenix Progressive location and within the first minute I was on the phone with him he was extremely rude, unprofessional, kept sighing over the phone and speaking over me. When I would try to get a word in he would talk louder so I didn’t have a chance. To make matters worse he hung up on me and I had to call him back and he told me “it seems like you’re busy”.
Ultimately after enduring as much disrespect as I could, I told him I would have to call him back when I got back into the country. So once I was back I called him and it was even worse. The disrespect, complete lack of professionalism, insensitivity, wouldn’t allow me to speak, and he told me to stop interrupting and let him talk. I felt like I was being verbally attacked. I told him I would like to speak to his supervisor and he told me “my supervisor is right here listening to this call” and kept on saying what he was saying. I finally told him he was being so rude and unprofessional and that I had a complete different experience with the other adjuster, (even though there were issues there she never raised her voice with me or was rude), and that I would call him back.
I have contacted the supervisor now and am waiting for a response. Ultimately, I would say this company seems to not care what so ever about customer service and I would never change insurance company and I have already told several people about this horrid experience. I was the one injured in this situation and I feel like I’m on trial for murder.

Our car was damaged while sitting parked in our yard. The person who ran into our car is insured by Progressive. It was about 4 days before they responded to our claim. We took our car to the body shop they recommended. Our driver's door was totally destroyed and had to be replaced. They replaced the door but used the old window motor from the destroyed door. When we went to get our car we noticed some gouges in the front bumper that were not there prior to our car being hit. Progressive's adjuster says they are not going to repair the bumper.
Getting back to the window, my wife put the driver's window down and when she put it back up it went all the way up but did not stop until it had rolled itself back down halfway. The adjuster said the body shop told him that our battery is bad and that is why the window don't stop where it is supposed to. The window worked fine before the accident and the car battery was never an issue. Now Progressive is refusing to fix the window until we buy a new battery for our car. Sure the battery would go dead if the car was not started and ran for 2 or 3 days but that never affected the window before. The vehicle they rented for us used so much gas that we can't afford to buy a new battery right now and shouldn't have to because the problem is the old window motor was damaged from the accident and they reused a damaged part in a new door.

Ironically I work for a collection agency. I ended my coverage with Progressive and switched to another insurance company and my rate is much less. After I cancelled I asked how much I was going to be refunded but they said I was still going to be charged $30. I said ok no big deal. Within 5 weeks without exaggerating I received an email notification from Progressive threatening to send me to a collection agency.
It was the first email I also received from them about a bill. Normally companies wait 90 days before even suggesting your account is going to be sent by collections. If they made one simple call to me or sent me a bill I would have paid it. Of course I paid it but it's crazy for them to threaten collections 5 weeks later. Their insurance was good for the most part except I had to fight with them to pay for my car rental for all the days it was supposed to be covered. Eventually they paid or I would have taken them to court. They were good at paying for my claim in a timely manner.

I was given a ticket for DUI 8 years ago. I was .01 over the limit after 2 glasses of wine I had hours prior to being stopped. I called Progressive to add state required FR44. The fella looked up my DMV record to confirm and added it. 4 years ago I called to make sure this had dropped off as my policy amount was only going UP. I was told it would drop when renewed in a month or two. The next renewal was less so stupidly I assumed the FR44 was gone.
Last week I switched to Liberty Mutual and when they pulled my record the DUI had been dropped so they didn't even mention FR44. I asked about it, they looked again and said there was nothing on my DMV record about FR44. I called Progressive back and was told it isn't removed unless I request it. The same person said in same conversation that they can't just take my word for it they have to look at my DMV record. I told him several times I did call, he said he didn't know why it wasn't dropped and there were no notes from that far back. I spoke to Linda who said that because I was sent a copy of the policy and it was on there I should have known. I looked at latest policy and in very small letters it was there.
Progressive is more than double the cost of Liberty Mutual and LM has much better coverage, roadside assistance and more. With Progressive we can ask them to remove FR44 but without running a DMV report to verify they can't remove it. States it's between me and the state. I asked to have it removed and they didn't. I have paid hundreds of dollars more than necessary over 5 years. What a way to take from long term customers! We do not recommend Progressive!

I cannot even convey in words how disappointed I am with this company. They're extremely pricey for the coverage that you get. I found a better company that is 70 dollars less than what they wanted to charge me, plus way more benefits. But that's not the least of it, let's talk about my horrible experience after my first accident.
Then the car sat at a preferred shop for almost a month, and no car for most of it. I ended up getting a rental for 2 weeks, which Progressive assured me they would pay me back for. (It's Jan and this happened in August, I still don't have my money.)
I got my car back from the preferred shop. I had to take it back at least twice to get it fixed AGAIN within days from getting it back from the preferred shop. Also, the customer service at preferred shop was HORRIBLE. Extremely rude front desk lady. Now, my car's body lines don't line up, and it's making an awful clunking and screeching sound every time I turn even slightly. That happened IMMEDIATELY after getting it back from the shop. It didn't make that noise before. Being 25 and naive I just let it go because I need a car to work. I couldn't afford to let it sit in the shop for another who knows how long. So that was horrible.
Let's talk about the claims. The first claims lady as I said, let my car sit for a whole week and didn't do anything about it. That's not efficient. She was fired. The second lady while extremely nice didn't return phone calls probably 85% of the time, and when she did she rarely had an answer for anything. I also tried to contact customer service. To try and get in contact with anyone who knew anything it was like pulling teeth. I called in multiple times and got transferred without my issue being resolved, or they just argued with me without actually looking into my account.
Needless to say, now that I'm in Jan, still haven't gotten a call, they tried to raise my premiums, and I don't have the nearly $500 they promised me they would pay back, I will NEVER recommend this company to anyone else. I will vehemently work against this company after the service I have gotten from them, their claims, and their preferred car workshop. Please do not support Flo, even though her ads are cool as heck.

I spoke with the original adjuster Pamela ** and she immediately helped me to understand what would happen during my claim process. She also made very clear that I may have a new adjuster due to the claim being Progressive against Progressive. I waited until Tuesday after Christmas to reach out to Progressive regarding my next steps and found out my new adjust Melissa ** would be my adjuster. Well let's just say I later had to reach back out to Pamela to even get a rental. Next contact with Melissa was a week after only to give me information that I was already given. I spoke to 2 reps in between that time to update them with the status of my release paperwork, nothing happened.
I was in contact with 3 other reps to see if my car was totaled the following week in which there was no update because my adjuster failed to timely have my vehicle inspected. I was told my loan would be paid off, everything would be processed through the other party's policy first then whatever hers didn't cover mine would. Well, lo and behold 3 weeks after my car was deemed a total loss and they only covered the value of the vehicle. I would not have known anything about my claim if I wasn't taking the initiative to staying on Melissa's trail with updates.
I had to give the rental back 16 days after my car was wrecked. I still have not received my tag and my lender has not received payment for the loss of coverage. My tag was supposed to be sent through FedEx. After complaining they emailed me and said it was in regular mail. I was told this information was mailed off on 01/12/201. I am currently having financial hard times, all of lays solely on the premiums I pay to Progressive. I have one vehicle, I have been with Progressive a year and every policy period my payments have skyrocketed. For my next 6 month period, they want me to pay $445 a month, $20 higher than it was the previous period. I was told that my policy went up because that's the cost of doing business. I have called a few times asking how I can lower my payments. I was told there was no way. I am now finding out that I could've raised my deductible to lower the premium. Why did nobody tell me this before? For 6 months I have been struggling just to eat, because of Progressive.
I had a payment due on the 16th of January, but my bank account was frozen on that date. I had it reactivated on the 17th and was told there were no pending transactions. I then I called Progressive to ask about it. I was told that there was no payment due on the 16th of January because I was paid in full. Thinking the good Lord had given me an opportunity to finally straighten out my life and get some groceries, replace the broken blower motor on the heater for my car (so I can defrost my windows and not die of cold). I go to the grocery store get some food and I get the checkout lane and find I have no money. I check my phone and sure enough Progressive had drawn out money. I went out to the parking lot to call Progressive. I sat there for an hour waiting to find out that I had apparently never said or asked anything about the January 16th payment.
The reason I had called was entirely about the January 16th payment. So, I have to wonder... am I crazy? I know for a fact I asked about it and was told there was no need for a payment. So Progressive is making me question my own sanity and ability to recall an important conversation only two days after it happened. I asked for a copy of the recording, she said they would mail a transcript. I told her I wanted the actual audio file, she refused. I've read the reviews on here, and they all seem to receive the same level of treatment.
Please, can anybody tell me if this has happened to them before? I feel like I've lost my mind. That phone call on the 17th was important. It would decide whether I would be able to eat this week. I took it very seriously. So, why was I happy then, if I wasn't told there would be no payment being taken out of my paycheck? Long story short (too late), does anyone know of an Insurance provider that doesn't try to convince you that you are crazy?

Started with Progressive six months ago around August 2017 and we paid for the entire 6 months up front. At the time they were the cheapest and we got all kinds of 'deals' like Snapshot. This is where our first problem came up. Snapshot actually messed with our car causing me the driver and my little sister to be stuck in the middle of a busy intersection. We had heard a lot about the Snapshot messing with cars so we called them up. They said they haven't heard of that before but will take it back and tell the Snapshot center of the claim.
After taking it out our car stopped shutting down on us. My husband still didn't like me driving the car and we had been looking at buying a new car and took that as the perfect opportunity to do that. A few months later we found a car, traded the old one in and my husband called the insurance the next day. Progressive took all the car information down and said it will be an extra 20 from our old vehicle. They asked if they could use the credit card on file and he said yes.
Now a few months later we have gone with a new insurance company and my husband is doing stuff with his license only to find out Progressive didn't put our new car on the insurance and now he is being fined a lot of money we can't afford because we didn't had insurance on the car for an extend period of time. He called Progressive they said they have no records of the new car besides a quote and they had no record of his call and they can't go back in our payments or records to find it out. If I had known they where this bad of a company or even read some of the reviews on the company I would have gone with someone else even with the higher rates because in the end it would have been cheaper. So please be cautious when going with Progressive. They don't seem to care for their customers or their safety.

I've never been in ANY accidents in my life except on Oct. 30, 2017, I backed into my BF's truck in our driveway causing damage to my bumper and his. I was going to warm my car up, because I was taking my granddaughter to the doctor. There were so many fumes in the garage so backed up misjudging my BF's truck and caused some minor damage (fender bender). Progressive put me under investigation right away because I had changed my deductible 11 days prior to the accident. They requested my son & daughter-in-law's phone #, phone records of 2 weeks prior to accident, and an written excuse from my granddaughter's pediatrician proving I was there.
Everything that Progressive was asking for was irrelevant, but I gave them my son and daughter in law's phone number and a note from the MD, stating I was there with my granddaughter. I did NOT have permission to submit the phone records, as my BF did not want to share his personal info with this company. They refused to honor my deductible stating that I was not cooperating with their 'investigation'. I submitted a letter to the state of Wisconsin Commissioner of Insurance. He couldn't do anything, but it was put on record. I was angry when I read what Progressive wrote to them. They lied and I have proof of this. They also said that they 'called' the pediatricians office to verify the note and the MD's office said they didn't have the authority to verify this.
Well, HELLO! It's called HIPPA! I was an RN for 32 years and I know if some stranger calls the office and says they want info, you can't say a word! Also, I gave them a written note signed by the MD stating I was there with her. The point of all of this, is, this company PURPOSELY leads you on a wild goose chase so they don't have to pay! Asking for phone records is their MO, so that they can claim they called this and that number and "didn't get a response", or question why did you call this # and can you prove this, and have that person/company write a note... etc. THAT's THEIR SCAM! I dropped Progressive after the first week of their games and signed up with State Farm (a local agent). Three months ago, when our auto insurance rate went up 25%, my husband and I started shopping around for large, reputable companies that could give us equal or better coverage for less money. Progressive Insurance offered to reduce our premium by about a third, and we asked ourselves "Hey, why not?" There was only one catch: we had to install a little device called Snapshot in each car. As new policyholders, Snapshot will remain in our cars for the entire first premium period. We asked ourselves, "Hey, why not?" We're good drivers. What could possibly go wrong?
Installing wasn't difficult. We nicknamed the device "Jiminy Cricket," after the character in 1940 Disney animated feature film Pinocchio who serves as his conscience. Knowing Jiminy was there to improve our driving as well as lower our auto insurance premium, we tried very hard to like him. Unfortunately driving with Jiminy has turned out to be an experience we'd rate between annoying and aggravating, occasionally even dangerous.
Snapshot's primary metric is "hard braking." Originally we thought this meant driving fast and slamming on the brakes to stop, which neither of us do. However, no matter gently we step on the brakes in either car, Jiminy emits a BEEP if there is any firmness in the pressure and the brake goes down all the way. Snapshot seems to prefer stops that have about 100 yards of stopping distance, and assumes drivers always having the luxury of coasting to a stop, with no need to even press the brake down all the way. (Last week I had a situation in which all of the above conditions were applicable, but since there was a car in front of me, I took the added precaution of making sure the brake brought the car to a complete halt. BEEP!) It should be noted that in many places a driver can actually be ticketed for coming to a "rolling stop" rather than a full stop. The difference is subtle, but Snapshot clearly prefers the former to the latter.
In stop and go rush hour traffic, in shopping malls where cars are pulling into and out of spaces without paying attention, and when passing by commercial driveways on busy streets, these idyllic conditions do not usually apply. It's frustrating for a driver to brake for a car cutting them off and to hear "Jiminy" BEEP disapprovingly.
Here's where "Jiminy" can actually be dangerous. As I passed by the driveway of an office building on a major thoroughfare, a car pulled out in front of me. I actually found myself very consciously choosing between braking to avoid an accident and getting a "hard brake" on my Snapshot record. Fortunately my instincts kicked in and I braked--of course Snapshot BEEPed!--but it made me reflect on whether the device, which claims to have as its goal the improvement of my driving, was undermining my self-confidence as a driver by causing me to drive in order to please Snapshot, rather than relying upon my experience as a very safe driver. Snapshot BEEPing also has zero tolerance of braking for pedestrians who step out into traffic.
Here's another situation. When a car going 30 mph is less than 50 feet from a traffic light that changes from green to yellow, there ought to be time to stop rather than running the light. However, Snapshot will not approve of a hard stop, so more and more we are choosing to run through the yellow light instead of braking and setting off a BEEP. Frankly, at this point my husband and I are very sorry we changed insurance companies. Given it to do all over again, it would have been worth the difference in premium to not have the constant intrusion of Snapshot into our driving.
According to Snapshot, I have a B+ Snapshot rating, my husband has a C. (He does the driving whenever we go out together, so he does much more driving than I do, and therefore has more opportunities to incur Snapshot's censure. Prior to submitting this review, I attempted to contact Progressive directly to respond to my concerns. The website led me in circles (customer support says to log in, after logging in and going to customer support I was told I had to log in again...). There is nowhere to send a review like this prior to going public. So I am sharing this here.

I contacted Progressive Insurance because my car was intentionally hit 3 to 5 times and the driver drove off. Thankfully no one was hurt, but my vehicle is a complete loss, I have so many damning document's pictures, videos, and even an interview she made with a private investigator, admitting she hit my car! Meanwhile her vehicle was fixed fraudulently by claiming the damage happened somehow else!!! Progressive apologized on their insurers behalf and let me know they are investigating the claim! It has now been 5 weeks and was informed today by Progressive that my case is closed and there's nothing they can do to help me... It looks like I'm going to have to take this matter in my own hands and sue her civilly! I'm very upset and feel like Progressive Insurance is protecting someone who intentionally hit my car and committed insurance fraud, where do I go from here! Do not use Progressive Insurance Company.

I cancelled my account November 9, 2017, the lady said “my policy was paid up till January 7th”. I replied and I specifically said on their recorded phone calls, “AFTER THIS POLICY, I DO NOT GIVE YOU PERMISSION TO MY ACCOUNT AND I’M NOT RENEWING MY POLICY!” I didn’t renew my policy. I went to the bank and blocked them from my account. Just checked!!! They pulled out some random amount again on January 11th, bounced my account again. Headed to bank and I record them too. My daughter has had Progressive Insurance for the last 5 plus years and has never had a claim against the insurance. She was in a car accident and Progressive stated her frame was bent on the car and they have totaled her car. She still owed some money on her loan. At first they stated they would pay off the loan and give her a check for the rest of the value of the car. The called about a week later and told her the car was not valued at what it should be because they stated she had over 270,000 miles on her car. They would not be paying off her loan on the car and it would be up to her to pay off the loan. There was no way she had that amount of miles on the car.
She disputed the claim and asked for proof of the mileage on her car. They sent a picture of a speedometer that had over 270,000 miles but it was not her car speedometer. The car was a tan car with a normal speedometer reading. Her car is a black car with a digital speedometer reading. We asked for the location of the car so we could go look at it ourselves and they said they didn't know where the car was located and they would get back to her. A couple of days later someone called from Progressive claiming they had their files mixed up and now they would give her the correct value of her car and that we didn't need to go look at the car. The car payment is still not paid off and now we are in a battle to get that paid off.
Now, the claim against her insurance for the other car is now becoming a nightmare. Progressive is stating that the damage to the other car exceeds the 10,000.00 they will pay. The repairs are far exceeding 10,000 but in another breath they are stating they are totaling the car. We have asked for a itemized detail of the repairs and what they will cost from a reputable auto repair shop. We have also asked where the car is located so that we can investigate ourselves if necessary. We can't get an itemized detailed invoice of the repair nor do we know where the vehicle is located so that we can have our own assessment done. We don't even know how much more the repairs will cost over the 10,000. So far I believe that Progressive is trying to con and deceive a young girl. Insurance fraud at its best. To be continued...

For the year we were living in Florida while my husband was overseas, we used Progressive. It was our first time living in Florida. Twice a car hit our parked car while we were in a store or restaurant and twice we submitted the claim to cover the costs of fixing the major damages caused by the miserable people who drove off without leaving their information (which, honestly, very few people in this world are good enough to do). I've left a note for slightly bumping someone and leaving no visible marks! But, let's be honest here, people in general are not "good" and would not do this.
Progressive dropped us after this, stating that because Progressive had to pay out for these, we are considered at fault, therefore we are considered high risk. They should have an exemption or have a clause stating these situations would NOT count against the victim (us) and others, most likely many others, this happens to. I will NEVER consider Progressive again and I will recommend others to steer clear of them as well. The woman I spoke to on the phone was equally as terrible and I hope she has a tough night of tossing and turning for continuing to call us at fault.

What happened: January 2, 2018, 7:20 am - Blow out on Lebanon Pike, Nashville, TN; pulled into convenience store parking lot. Called Progressive Roadside Assistance: 8 to 9 pm and forward - 10+ phone attempts transferred to deadline. Called Progressive customer service and transferred multiple times into same deadline. After several hours of this contacted another Progressive number and that person told me the lines were dead and gave me a website to put in the roadside assistance request. Put in the request. After another couple hours and no response by text or phone, called Progressive sales department who put in the online request for me again. Waited until 2:45 pm with nothing; no contact at all.
The temperature was 8 to 12 degrees during this entire time. I was low on gas and didn't want my battery to die keeping the car running. I called my repair shop manager and asked if he would let me bill the tow; he did. My sister picked me up and I stayed at her house. Picked up the car next day. I didn't have money to pay for Uber. Did I ever get contacted by roadside assistance? I did... At 9:00 pm that night telling me a tow was on the way; and a followup text asking if it came at 2:00 am next morning.
What was I out of pocket? $99.00 for the tow and $130.72 for my holiday pay. My roadside assistance cost me a total of: $229.72. What did I learn? Progressive told me they do not underwrite the roadside assistance. It is provided by a company named Agero who also provides service for USAA and many other insurance providers. Progressive stated that they offer roadside assistance as a service only; they do not guarantee it at all, and it is Agero's decision to reimburse or not reimburse.
Progressive does not in any way interceded if the service isn't done according to what you think you paid for through Progressive. I think this is misleading since Progressive didn't tell me this when I added it to my policy. I also found out that I could buy the service direct through Agero for $69.00 a year which is cheaper than what I pay Progressive; so said insurance company gets what amounts to a referral fee on top of what Agero charges. If you file for reimbursement it will take at least 2 weeks and possible 2 months to get your money back, that is what a Progressive Supervisor told me. I will commend the Progressive chat CSR who did waive some late fees for me to help with the cost of what I lost. At least one person at the company takes ownership of something.
What will I do? I will cancel the roadside assistance once I get reimbursed and I will get it direct through another roadside provider like AAA. The insurance roadside assistance is a scam that the insurance company makes money off of without guaranteeing or standing behind the product. I am looking at other insurance providers as well as I feel Progressive misled me on the way the roadside assistance works and who is actually in control of it.

Three hours later she realized this had not been removed but processed. Upon calling a representative at Progressive, it was cancelled. Then she was told the $85 they had taken by debit card would take 14 days to process for return.

I end up with $89 increase in my insurance cost. 2nd, I got hit and my car was totalled, they paid me $1800, same car with higher mileage is at least $4 500 on websites I searched. 3rd, because of that accident, even though it was not my fault, my insurance cost increased from $504 to $1100/months. On November 1, 2017 we met a dump truck, about 200 yards from leaving the quarry just north of Brooklyn, WI hauling stone chips piled high over the bed of his truck and it was not tarped, and it was a very windy day, with wind speeds of 15-16 mph and gusts of 24 mph from the south easternly direction and the dump truck was traveling north and as our vehicles approached each other, some of the stone chips were blown off the top of his load on his left side and rained down on our left side on our new 2018 Ford F150 truck with only 225 miles that we had picked up just 4 days prior to this incident. The windshield and left side windows are damaged and pitted and the paint is chipped on the front, hood, left side doors, windows, left side of truck bed and the roof of the truck by those stone chips.
There was a vehicle following directly behind us and he saw it happen and his vehicle was damaged also, because he stopped when we stopped to look at all the damage. Progressive, the insurance carried by the dump truck, denied the claim because the dump truck owner said he was hauling rock and that would not blow off, but his weight ticket with his account number, and time, says he was hauling stone chips, so I contacted the supervisor from Progressive to appeal the decision and they sent their adjuster down to estimate the damage. At that time I told the adjuster that Progressive had denied the claim, he said, then why did they send him to look at it. After the adjuster looked over the truck, he found more damage that our local body shop had missed, and then he said the damage was consistent with what I told him about the stone chips raining down on our truck.
He ask me what Progressive thought how it happened and I said that they think that the chips came up off the truck tires. He said that was not likely with the way of the damage. Our local body shop had the damage estimated at $11,780.00. Progressive denied this claim, then I appealed it with the supervisor and after their adjuster was here on November 20, 2017, then Progressive denied the claim again on November 21, 2017. They denied it because they believed their insured when he said he was hauling rock and that could not blow off the top of his bed and he had so many wheels on his truck that it had to have flown up from the road and that is how both trucks were damaged, ours and the truck behind us. When the first claim person that I talked to from the Hudson, Wi. office Deshawn ** said that their insured was hauling rocks, that could not blow off.
Then he said that the driver of the truck disputed the police report, I ask him what there was to dispute, but he would not tell me, then he said that I said that I did not know where the chips came from. Which was I lie, for I did say that they came from the top of his load. Later we found out that there was not a full police report, and the officer could not tell where they come from, because when the officer questioned the driver his load was already unloaded, Far away from where the incident happened. So lie number two. We went so far as to write to the Progressive CEO. That was a joke, they sent it back to the claims dept to investigate, right back to Hudson, Wi. again. The supervisor then called me and said that the load was only half full and that it could not blow off. I told him that we had the weight ticket. He said that maybe that was not his ticket. But that is the trucker's account number.
Then supervisor said that the driver's load was level and could not blow off. What stories they tell to deny a claim. Here is some of the letter that supervisor sent us. From Bryan **, "Assuming this was our truck that passed by, we haven’t received any proof of where the rocks came from. The police were called to the scene, but there wasn’t a police report. We spoke with the responding officer, and he told us that the report wasn’t written because he couldn’t tell if the rocks came out of a truck or off the road. Our customer advised us that the truck wasn’t full to the top when he left the facility, so that’s why he didn’t tarp the truck. It isn’t a state statute that the truck needs to be tarped, and if it was, the officer would have cited our driver." There is a sign posted as the dump trucks leave the quarry "That all loads must be tarped". This is why I am writing this complaint. Because their claims department lie and deny!!!!

I started my policy with Progressive Insurance August 2017 and it's being from one stressful month to the other. I changed my coverage in October to a cheaper one and the agent I spoke with DID not effect that change. I was still being charged for the premium coverage I had before. I made a call to the customer service agent named Michael on 12/08/17 at 7.49 am Texas time for 18 minutes and he was so rude, he shouted at me all through the conversation, asked to keep quiet while he talk, all these because I made a complaint that my charges was overboard and it shouldn't be.
I have never felt so terrible, getting service from Progressive is not something I will ask anyone to do and also Progressive need to give training to their agents regarding customer service. This agent DID not listen to my opinion. All he did was shout at me like he was doing me a favor. I wish I got his full name so I can get his stupid ** fired. This is not acceptable. I am paying for the service am getting. Not free service. That agent is a disgrace to customer service roles worldwide and he is supposed to be a representative of your company but I can tell you he is total disgrace.

We were involved with an accident on I95 where an 18 wheeler dropped the driveshaft out of the truck at 75 mph. We ended up with a great deal of expenses. Progressive was often unresponsive and eventually delayed us, and offered us well under our actual out of pocket expenses. The overall experience was frustrating and without doubt confirmed my belief that they will do anything possible to pay the least amount, without regard to what is fair. It was all about the money. We didn't expect a lot, but it was downright insulting. Felt like a game and customer service was non-existent. I will never purchase insurance from them and hope we are never involved in any accident, especially one that has Progressive Insurance.

Progressive Insurance Company stands behind policies that discriminate against its customers based upon areas that they live in. Because a customer may not be able to afford to live in a specific area or where a class of people could live they charge a higher rate based on crime rate! It is horrible to think about companies that give little thought to their customers who give them such fine livings. I urge people to contact your local insurance companies and stand up to them about this matter. I urge you!!
Progressive is well aware at my anger about this situation in their corporate office and so I urge people to contact them and let your voice be heard. Let them know that we should not be pushed around like cattle. I am a customer that is not a part of the problem. I should not be charged higher rates based on these factors. Their excuse is that it helps them to be more competitive but we all know that that's not true because our rates don't go down they always go up! Stand up and do something about this please! Please call and say something. Escalate your phone calls!

Stay away from Progressive! After having my car totaled in an accident and shopping around for car insurance on my new car, I switched to Progressive from Geico because $100 difference in premium. Big mistake! I paid the 6 month premium in full and found out 2 months later that they added another $320 without notifying me, adding late charges, etc. ridiculous, switched right back to Geico but not without being prorated with that $320 charge. Very unhappy and should have never switched, never again! Telling everyone I know about their crookery, DO NOT USE THEM.

I've been a Progressive customer for 11+ years. I hit a deer last year and it took them a month to pay for my totaled SUV. My wife liked the agent so I let it slide. Then I was rear-ended and they totaled another car with broad form collision on it. They proceeded to deduct from the payment rust the body shop owner couldn't find and a stain on the seat he removed in less than 5 minutes. My wife died in August. Progressive and I are divorcing. Suggest you do the same, Flo can find other work.

I was in an hit and run and while me myself do not have Progressive my sister do. So after being sent to you and coming in to record statements and also giving up phone records... they finally deny the claim after 3 months saying “THE VEHICLE WAS NOT HIT ACCORDING TO THEIR PICS” that was sent in by THEIR forensic experts!!! Me and my babies were in the ER all night. I also have physical therapy for a year and they are telling me I WAS NOT HIT AT ALL. Tell your friends and family who want Progressive to read the reviews because they are not friendly!!! They take your hard earned money and when you need the help you have been paying for they give a big fat ** YOU!!! Please go with another company pleaseee.

I have had Progressive auto insurance for 2-3 years. This year my premiums went up almost $15 a month. I drive a 2007 Kia Rio. It has over 200,000 miles on it. I drive less than 7,000 miles a year. Why do my rates go up so much? Is it because of my age and that I’m retired? I'm only 62.

If I could not have given any stars or minus stars, that's what I would have done. The fat chick making their commercials is a millionaire as are the fat cats that run the company. 0 claims, on time payments and they screw me. Rats ate my car to the point of no return. As soon as the wiring went haywire, I took it to the dealer. 2013 Prius V 40K miles. After waiting close to a month for these bozos... NOT COVERED!!!

Cheap is not always good, especially in this company, I used for 2-3 years. They raise my insurance without reasonable reason. I call them, they adjust the policy price again. My cousin has an accident. As a result we realized that our insurance policy was down, from 20-50k to 10-20k, without our permission. Their adjuster was really a nightmare. Instead of being in our side was in the other person side. Harassment all the time. Unprofessional. I do not recommend, this company to not one. Cheap is not always good.
