Signed up online with Progressive. We did get a good quote to begin with, that's why we signed up. We did Snapshot and were promised up to a 20% discount for good driving. We had 1 hard brake, over the course of 5 months, out of the 2 vehicles we insure with them. Other than that we had no rapid acceleration, no driving over 80MPH, no hazardous driving time, no accidents, no tickets. A+ score for one, and an A for the other vehicle, for the one hard brake. We were thinking we were going to save money at renewal, however our rates are still going up. They say that we are saving $216 since we did so well with Snapshot. Our original policy rate was $682 for 6 months for 2 vehicles.

At renewal that jumped up to $943! So with our "savings" we are now at $727. That rate increase from $682-$943 is a 38.3% rate increase. When I called to question how this is possible the representative that I spoke with told me that there was a 17% rate increase in my area. When I questioned her and let her know that her math did not add up I was sent to a supervisor. The supervisor told me that they have no clue where the other girl got the 17% from, and that it isn't accurate. I asked her to explain to me how with a perfect driving record, amazing Snapshot results how we got a 38.3% rate increase. She told me that she can't give me a breakdown. This is what you get for perfect driving record. Caveat emptor! Do not use this company.

This is not a joke people. They will makes you think it's for your own good but not really. It's all business. They will fix your car for them that they couldn't fix you as customer to satisfy you for being a good customer and they will sell it. They rushed me to signed papers and they tried to towing my car in the same day with my stuff in it. Please choose wisely people. Do not let commercial fool you to get involve with this bad insurance company or unless you want to be a total loser. If you have an accident they will choose the cheapest place to send you to get it fix and put used parts in your car and if you refuse you might end up losing your car like I did. Just finished a call with their customer service and 45 minutes of wasted time reasoning with them. Their recorded message told me that they tapped me for $238 payment and fees (which should have been only a payment of $112.38) and then the customer service person asked me if the money was actually taken from my account... what? They checked the recording and came back to tell me the lady told me she was googling shops near me and not preferred shops which was a lie. My car 2015, is still in the shop and I expect them to cut corners, but if I don't like it I am going to fight, this time with the manager. I felt discriminated and humiliated. I signed up for an auto insurance with Progressive last Feb. I was given a quote of $478 for 6 months if paid in full. I was asked to use SnapShot program to lower my insurance amount after 6 months. At the end of my 5 months I received an email confirming $74 discount will be added to my next payment. When I went online to renewal my account I found the quote of $526 if paid in full for 6 months which was contradicting to what I was expecting it to be $404. When I reached out to the customer care I was told one of the discounts was provided only for the first 6 months.

No one has mentioned to me when I signed up for the policy and when I asked for the same, Progressive says I should read the policy papers. And when I confronted them it is completely misleading and cheating to hide the right information to sign up customers and playing the policy card is unethical and not acceptable. Progressive do not have a courtesy to say the reason why the quote went up unless I call them to find out the reason. I was suggested to change my coverage so they can reduce my policy price, as if that is any helpful. Thank you Progressive, you may be legally right but not ethically. You failed to be fair with your loyal customer.

Today I attempted to remove two of my daughters from my driver's policy which were very easy to add to the policy but removing them wasn't as easy, it was downright impossible. The first person I spoke to couldn't speak English well enough so that I could understand her. Once I got my request to her and she understood my goal she informed me that they couldn't do it because they live with me 50% of the time and that I would need to keep them on the policy as excluded drivers. I asked to speak to her supervisor and that's when I was sent to Anna.

Anna was not helpful at all and a bit confrontational to be honest. She kept asking me to be clear in what I was saying. There was no way she didn't understand my request or comments. I now have to pay a small fee to keep them on my policy as excluded drivers. I then checked with State Farm, Geico, and Nationwide on rates and will be switching my policy to Nationwide tomorrow who cut my Progressive rate by 33%.

Let me please start with a little info about me. I'm retired and drive less than 2200 miles a year and have no tickets and very good credit. My trips consist of grocery store and dr. appointments. I live alone so I don't buy a lot of groceries all at once and prefer to shop every other day-ish for produce. I have regular dr appointments about every 3 months. Other than that, the car sits. So I thought Snapshot would be good for lowering my rates. It is not. I was told by customer service that I went from an A+ to a B+ simply because my trips are not daily/regular and, because I went house hunting last week and put on 200 miles in a week.

Low annual miles or staying out of daily commuter traffic is not rewarded but penalized. Keep in mind I'm still WAY under the 2200 annual mileage. I have one hard brake (Thanks Austin traffic). You'll also get dinged if you have to punch it in traffic to change lanes or just get into the flow. The meager discount will not cover the loss of the signing discount for new policies. This is not the policy for low mileage drivers and is akin to a no-win carnival game.

Then it took them over 6 weeks after accident to start working on my car, meanwhile I’m without a car going to kids school and to and from work with Uber. After week 7 they finally said I can get a “rental”. I go to Enterprise and guess what? They never made reservation for me to pick up, finally Enterprise gives me a car. Another 3-4 weeks go by finally I get my car back. Return rental same day body shop told me car was ready, I get charged over $700 for rental. Progressive refuse to cover it. These people are a joke. I had a horrific, heinous experience after being rear-ended by 1 of their clients. Settlement was a nightmare, and I, 100% NO FAULT in the accident, was surprised POST settlement, that settlement did not include some of the medical bills submitted (I was under the understanding that Progressive would cover hospital bills). In a nutshell, I received hospital bills remaining because Progressive decided medical treatment was not sought in a timely fashion. 1 bill they found unworthy of paying was the emergency room where a CAT scan was performed to check for possible internal bleeding. Another issue Progressive had was me waiting 6 weeks to see a chiropractor after being rear-ended.

Never mind to them that I could not lay on the table, could not get up or down easily due to spinal and rib cage pain, nor could I seek have an adjustment. To date, there has been no adjustment -- they said 6 weeks was too long to wait to see a chiropractor. My car accident settled with Progressive and attorney winning and me losing --- funny thing is, I had agreed to the attorney being paid and all medical being paid, if nothing else... Attorney was paid, Progressive sneaked their way around medical bills, and I was left with nothing plus hospital bills -- When one is ill and unable to fight for what is right due to being an innocent victim not in the right frame or state of health due to the car accident, it is and remains a complete shock and sad outcome to me who still suffers from damage due to their client rear-ending me, to have portions of my medical treatment with monies due.

Completely victimized by a dereliction of duty. Since the imbecile settlement took place, and I have no right to anything else, All I can do is warn you, if you are a 100% no fault victim of a damage done to your car and /or your person by a one of Progressive's clients, Please stand your ground, do NOT become a victim of the #metoo (Progressive) movement. In my case, they were cruel, neglectful and completely uncaring in their duty to allow, assist, or provide reimbursement to be treated. One would think I was frivolous in what I asked for --- Be very careful with this company. Watch their commercials and guess how much money goes into their advertising. Wait until you need to go to the emergency room 10 hours after being hit by a holder of Progressive Insurance... and then see just how money they will NOT provide for human cause, dignity and treatment.

Yes, the attorney was a mistake to choose and will receive a review also. Perhaps I was the one incompetent one here --- choosing a wallflower of an attorney who allowed this happen to me, and me, too trusting of a company I assumed was professional and had ethical standards. This is about Progressive here, and as said, all I can do is warn you, and that helps heal me knowing I can let you know how I was mishandled and treated with malfeasance. Because this settled already, does not mean Progressive was not negligent. Keep your friends close and Progressive closer. Don't take your eye, mind or magnifying glass off of Progressive --- even if you have to take a nap, sleep with one eye open which deal with them.

Warning. That is all I can do here. But I gladly stand strong and hope to make a difference in another's treatment by them, if comparable to my situation. Thank you for listening and for allowing me to get some of this very sad experience off my chest. Thank you Consumer Affairs for giving me the opportunity to empower again after such an experience with Progressive Insurance.

I signed on with Progressive for both my car and homeowner's insurance looking for a cheaper rate than State Farm who I had been with for over 30 years. Big mistake! As many others have stated here, they get you with their rates but don't tell you that it's temporary. In 1 year they raised my car insurance by $96 and my homeowner's over $500! When I called to inquire why the change, they gave me some nonsense about an insurance report. I've made no claims and nothing in my life, i.e., job, income, credit (which is excellent) has changed. I am switching back to State Farm tomorrow. I cannot stress enough, don't be fooled by their low rates like I was, you will regret it. Also, they farm out their homeowners to other companies so Progressive themselves will not assist you with anything regarding your homeowner's policy. I have been with Progressive for years now. Made payments on time. I filed a claim because my husband was hit from behind while sitting at the red light and my grandbaby was in the back seat. The impact has caused my car to be a total lost. The lady that has been assigned to our claim has been nothing but rude and don’t explain things over the phone she put it in an email. Meanwhile she makes arrangements for us to get a rental car and says they only pay for this rental for 3 days.

The days ran into the weekend and Monday as she is explaining to me I need to go to one of progressive main office which was an hour and a half away from where I live and sign off as the poa I also needed to turn the car back in as of Monday evening or we could keep the car longer but we had to pay out of pocket after Monday evening. I tried explaining to her that I was not paid for my car yet and that was the only means of transportation I had. Oh and the person that hit my car also has Progressive insurance so I guess she was assigned to his claim too (go figure). Progressive fight a claim against Progressive that I have yet to see.

The lady assigned to our claim stated the total lost in which they would pay was $7200. I still owed $3700 on my car so it was almost paid for. She also stated they were taking the $3700 from that $7200 and then taxes of $525.76 and $25 which she never stated what that was for... I have paid on my car for 4 years almost paid for and the check progressive is cutting is nowhere near the money I paid into the car. I told her to go after the guy in fault for all those fees and she got quite and then stated I had to go after him myself in small claims court. Really?? When y'all are the ones handling our claim and his. Why not pay the car off and still cut the $7200 check and progressive insurance company take him to court. Remember he was at fault clearly stated in the police report. I will never and flat out refuse to tell my family members or give good recommendations to anyone I know about progressive.

Oh and mind you I had surgery on my knee and I had to try sitting in a rental while my husband drove 1 hr and 30 min just to sign off as a poa which only took 5 mins. The lady assigned to the claim DID offer to mail them but that would have taken longer for me to receive them and mind you as of 7/10/18 we have to pay rental fees until progressive insurance finish up the paperwork on their end and cut a check so I can go and purchase another car and start paying on something to drive all over again because when they get done taking out taxes and other fees that check will only cover a cheaper down payment car. Thanks for the total loss of my car and the total loss of the 4 years I put into my car that was hit and covered by your good for nothing insurance??? And again I recommend no one going with Progressive insurance company.

I drive a Kia so it's a pretty easy going car, when I stop at a stoplight my snapshot says "you hit the brakes too hard" so it ruins my score or I'll be going UNDER the speed limit and it'll says that I'm "speeding" so that ruins my score as well. I've never gotten into an accident with Progressive and I just checked my bill this morning and the price raised $300 and I'm already paying $340 which is 3x more than my car payment. Progressive is just an all around bad company to work with and I hope this company goes out of business or something because they definitely don't know how to work successfully and do their job.

Whenever I have to call Progressive I am always on hold for at least 20 minutes before I can talk to someone. So I made the mistake of not paying my bill on time so they cancelled my insurance. So I called to make my payment but the automated system said I need to speak to a representative. I was on hold for 35 minutes before speaking to a live person. Once I explained my situation the representative informed me that they will not re-insure me due to lack of payment and no other options were available to me.

So I was able to get auto insurance thru another company but they needed a loss run report from Progressive. So I call back to Progressive to ask for one. This time I am on hold for 30 minutes and the representative tells me that it takes a few days to get me this report and there is no other way to get it quicker. It is now 5 days since my request for the loss run report and I don't have auto insurance and I can't drive my car due to no insurance. I called back to Progressive and waited another 15 minutes to talk to a representative and they tell me that I just have to wait and there is nothing they can do. I nicely explained that I am out of a vehicle until I can get this report. They say that there is nothing that they can do. I am completely at a loss of what to do.

My son was hit by their insured. My son was going straight down the street and their insured turned left into his car. First their insured lied and said my son rear ended them. Progressive agreed. Then progressive saw the photos and said their insured was wrong and there was no way it was a rear end accident and they assumed 100% liability and had scheduled my son's car to be picked up and reserved him a rental. 2 days later the father of their insured says speed was a factor and they don't want assume 100% liability. The father was not in the car so how does he know. Instead of investigating Progressive agrees with their insured and tells my son to return the rental and they will only assume 80%. Now I have to file a lawsuit against Progressive. This company is so unprofessional.

As a 12 year customer of Progressive I'm fuming! Our rates 6 months ago were 165$ a month. Suddenly 2 months ago it jumped up to 300$. I called and spoke with a woman who got it down to 240$ (more than my car payment). Another insurance company warned me this might happen. Suddenly today I receive a notice saying that they added (without my request) un-insured motorist and now my bill was nearly 300$ again! I called Progressive AGAIN. Progressive added that coverage that I NEVER requested without my knowledge, then added it to my bill! Can they do that? I told them to remove that because I never requested or added that insurance coverage to my plan.

BUT then they told me they added it for me and when I didn't send them a letter denying the coverage they added and I didn't know about, it was added to my bill. THE only way to remove it was for them to spend time sending me a document refusing the extra coverage I never asked for, having it notarized, then sending it back. I asked if they were going to pay me by the hour for the time it would take to run around town to remove coverage I never ordered... he didn't answer, apparently not. So in two months what if they had home coverage to my policy without my knowledge? Do I have to run around another few hours signing their declaration page that I didn't want it. How can insurance companies add things to your policy without your knowledge or request. I hear George Soros owns Progressive. I can see it now.

I am working on, phone calls. I am in the middle of... It's just like work but I'm in my home office. I received an unknown call on my cell while on another call and didn't answer. The unknown number called back two more times never leaving a message. Less than 5 minutes later my 80 year old mother, who doesn't have the best mobility, comes teetering through my office door and hands me her cell phone. It was PROGRESSIVE!!! I'm not even sure how they got her number. She is not on the account nor is her cell phone number listed anywhere on the account.

I have a real issue with this, a huge issue with this. What if they call someone I am estranged from and give information to them? What if the number they call isn't mine and the person that answers passes themselves off as me. How does that work? It's unethical and has caused me to start to investigate other insurance companies. Bottom line is, people work all hours of the day and night and every day of the week. If I don't answer, LEAVE A MESSAGE. That's why we have voicemail and I will call you back to get my claim settled, THAT'S WHAT I PAY INSURANCE FOR!!! Was in an accident by a driver who pulled out in front me. He got the citation and was clearly his fault. No problem right, that's what insurance is for right? Wrong. We both have Progressive insurance and I immediately called in a claim. The initial call went great, they got all the info and since it was a Saturday I knew it would take a few days. I finally had to call 3 days later and they saw in their system the other driver got the citation for reckless driving. My vehicle is undrivable so I expressed this to the rep and I needed in the shop asap and a rental car. Progressive said that they need to get his statement and if I want to file a claim on my policy I would have to pay the deductible and they would reimburse me. Same company, other driver ticketed, what's the problem here.

Progressive wanted me to send pics to get an idea if it needs to be totalled. It has cosmetic damage, no engine damage, however front bumper and headlights are beyond putting a bandaid on it so I can drive without costing me MY deductible. I asked if there was a claims office to get it checked out. There is not. Long story short, it has been 3 weeks and still not able to get it fixed because they have not let me get a quote from a body shop. Progressive will not pay for a rental car and the reason is because they haven't decided if my vehicle needs to be totalled. BS. Maybe $3000 damage. Needs front bumper and 1 headlight assembly needed, that's it.

I have had to do all of the legwork. Get my own prices to fix the damage, call and wait for them to call back, which they never have, I am the one that has to call back and find out what is going on. I get the same answer "Yes I was just going over your claim and was about to call you and"...blah blah blah. It's time to get my lawyer involved. Don't bother with this company. They will drag their feet until you give up on them. Finally they said they will send me a check to get it fixed and not once did they want a quote from a body shop that How do they even know what damage that is unseen needs to be repaired. This is big corporate insurance cheating out hardworking people yet again. I'm done with you Progressive.

I used to pay my car in advance because I hate monthly payment and also supposedly you get a fair discount. I paid 2355.00 for 6 months, without the discount would be 2895.00 for a liability 15,000.00 each person which it is nothing and not good covered for a high price.

I knew it was overpriced but I wanted to keep my loyalty with Progressive until my sister opened my eyes telling me, don't care about loyalty, care about your pocket! She was right. As soon as my policy is was going to expire, I renew with another insurance agency with a better price with a liability 300,000 each person in an accident and all the packages covered for a better price. They were no help explaining any reasons for the raise in the policy. 3rd even after I cancel my policy they were still taking money from my checking account. This was 5 days after I canceled my policy.

The excuse was that I still owed for the previous month. I was told the previous month I was getting a refund for their mistake in billing, so come to find out it was only $50 and they billed me a month late. They said that anytime there is a policy change they bill the next month. Not the current month. I didn't change my policy. They were suppose to give me a refund. 4th they wouldn't sent Insurance cards in everyone's name without having to add and remove name in the policy. I had to call several time to get cards and other paperwork they were suppose to sent. They said they were sending it but I was not getting it. They want you to go paperless but wouldn't email the paperwork. So what good is paperless when I still get everything thru the mail? What kind of weird stuff is that.

I always hate to write a bad review but at this point I am exhausted of all options and I’m not sure what else I can do because I have not received the service I had hoped I was paying for monthly with my auto insurance payments. I had a car accident and my car was totaled. My policy states that I shall be provided with a rental car for a maximum of 30 days and up to $40 per day. (Which equals $1200 total.) I paid extra money to add the rental car to my policy. Now I am being harassed by Enterprise to pay $337 by the end of the day. They said I can be arrested for not paying by the end of the day. I have been talked to and treated like a criminal.

As of today, Progressive has only paid $697 towards my rental car. They stopped paying on the 25th. I received the rental on May 8th, 2018. The vehicle I was given is $34 per day. The total balance is $1085. We have not reached 30 days OR $1200 YET. I am worried and afraid for this growing problem! I pay my auto insurance each month because I don’t want to be in trouble. I also pay it because I expect to receive a service of my insurance helping and handling these issues in a timely and professional manner. This has not been what I have experienced. My claims adjuster went on vacation last week without warning. So I have been trying to get answers and help from other claims adjusters but they have not helped. I was told I would get a callback and never did. I asked for a supervisor and never got to speak to one. All while I am being charged daily for this rental car & threatened with the police.

The reason I still need the rental car is because I am still waiting for the lender of my auto loan to receive payment for my loan with the pay off checks that were sent on the 23rd is May. They still have not been received. I even asked my claims adjuster if I could pay the overnight the checks to speed up the process. I was denied. She said, "The check only has to go from Dekalb to a CarMax location which is in very close proximity. Maybe 40 minutes away. Maximum travel time in a car." I am very stressed and disappointed. I thought Progressive was one of the best insurance companies.

This is a major inconvenience for me as I am a single mother. I work very hard and I’m a good person. I just want to get exactly what I paid for and not be lied to or given wrong information. I don’t know why Enterprise is calling me several times per day. It is very ridiculous that I have to be so worried and that my insurance company is not helping me. I feel like I am in this alone. My insurance has not reached out to me at all. They are not following up. They should be taking care of these things. That is why I pay each month. Perhaps I need to stop paying them. Perhaps another insurance company does much better at fulfilling the policy’s promises. I was happy to save when I switched to Progressive but now I am thinking paying a little more each month would have been far worth it to have better service! Shameful!

I had two fender benders. The first one: I bumped the lady in front of me at a red light that went green. She didn't move her car and I was going under 5 miles an hour. She insisted I call the cops. I did whatever she wanted and stayed with her, swapped insurance information, and we spoke for a while. She told me she was fine - she didn't really want the cops to come but have called them anyway. She is 66 years old. I asked of course if she is OK and she said she is fine but just having a bad day. She said she has had neck issues forever but she seems fine. She even mentioned that I was a nice person before we left the incident. However, she is a creative problem solver that takes full advantage of the insurance industry. Remember, there was no airbag deployed in either car and absolutely no need for an ambulance.

I had to pay a ticket and appear in traffic court. My premium went UP. She wasn't a nice older lady after all. The insurance company, Progressive, 1.5 years after the incident received a letter from Lyons Gaddis, a local law firm. The letter was detailed and explained that from this incident, I have reduced her quality of life as her neck pain is awful and she and the lawyer are insisting $100K might cover damages. The letter was full of lies. It claimed she hurt her 'knee' in a car wreck 2 years ago and had surgery and suddenly she mentioned that she 'banged her knee' on the dashboard and it hurt days after in the claim/threat written to Progressive. Progressive sent an auto message to me saying that there is a possibility of a pressing charges against me that exceeds my limits.

I spent hours on the phone with the claims adjuster and went over each medical visit and lawyer cost/claim since I knew medical jargon. This lady went to the doctor the next day after the accident. She didn't see her 'usual' doctor but a substitute that said she had a possible swollen cervical spine. Then she went to 11 physical therapy sessions. Then the physical therapist discharged her because she was 80% better with a low pain scale. Then she had a knee MRI and there were no fractures from the results. A month later, she went back to her 'real' doctor that she knew for a long time and the doctor gave her a 'code' and told her to go back to physical therapy. She went back to physical therapy, this time a different office that does physical therapy. She had 15 sessions there and they discharged her as her pain subsided but not 100%.

She was then referred 4 months later to get an MRI on her neck. The diagnosis had to do with a degenerative condition that is called Stenosis. Stenosis often occurs with older age, bad posture and stress. She was told she needed $4000K injections in the facets of her neck for the rest of her life. The amount of the health bills alone without pain and suffering were around $12,000. The big issue was that her neck issues that continued on and on were not caused by a small fender bender. However, the claims adjuster said in her 'claims' records that she only saw 'claims' for her knee and not her neck. I asked that the medical records from the past 5 years must be given to Progressive asap. She has had prior neck issues, possibly surgery from Stenosis. The lawyer, I was told, was not obliged to give full medical details of her client because we were not in litigation.

I asked for a private investigator at this point. The claims adjuster spoke to her supervisor. Then they looked at the Progressive data for cases 'like' this in 'their software' and said no way - absolutely will they not speak against the lawyer who was really pushing for money that would be fraudulent based on the accident.

They said they would get back to me at Progressive about the amount of money they settled with at the end. The claims adjuster said it would be between $19-$25,000 total that the lawyer and the lying lady would be given for something I have not caused. I still don't know the actual amount given to these people.

There was NO guarantee that a lien would be placed on the health insurance of this woman, who knew how to navigate the insurance system and was a life insurance salesperson as well. She knew how she could get money out of Progressive because they roll over and protect the client (me) and shell out tens of thousands of dollars that is not verified or just at all. I requested we go to the next level and ask them to take me to court. Progressive said, "No." I knew I would win because there was no case. Once we saw medical records, my solid assumption would be that we would most likely find plenty of neck injuries prior to this incident. It was as if she was saying that before this incident, her neck was perfect but she told me she has had neck issues for a while Sstenosis).

She also mentioned that she was fighting so hard with the healthcare system to get a wheelchair for her sick son and has been on the phone with insurance and Medicaid companies all day. I felt badly for her because she had to go through this and her son was ill. Basically, I don't know this woman but I do know that she is sneaky and hired a sketchy insurance lawyer that knew all the ropes and how to scare insurance agents to get money. He also knew that he has no obligation in the state of Colorado to put a lien on the health insurance so that the lady must reimburse the health insurance company for the medical costs. Progressive enables double dipping. They are conservative and should be but also should spot a scam when it is obvious that it is a scam.

I think it is fair to pay for medical costs for right after the bump on the fender, the physical therapy right after it and that is it. It is fair to give her that and acknowledge a swollen knee. I don't think she should get nothing. However, it was so minor and Progressive even has tons of photos of MY vehicle and shows NO damage on record. Every day this happens to someone and Progressive hands out money to lawyers and liars that know they can get the money without going to court and disclosing clear evidence that she is lying about her medical history. Every day, millions of dollars are given to scammers, cheaters of the system, groping for money that does not belong to them.

I do think in this case, it is insurance fraud - threatening and asking for up to or even over $100,000 is outrageous. It's absurd and the auto insurance companies and sleazy lawyers are literally wrecking the economy. Progressive knows that they do this yet the consumer is powerless. Absolutely powerless because the auto insurance company would not investigate this claim. There still is an older case (less than 3 years) that they can't close and I fear that this other person is ready to do the same exact thing to get money out of Progressive because they won't investigate and they won't listen to the customer. They listen to the threats, the lawyers who know the loopholes and it has to stop. There are no regulations put on lawyers or health insurance companies to ensure they are reimbursed. That is disgusting.

For regular hard working people, trying to make a living, get their kids to college and not steal from the system, what Progressive has done is disgusting. As a consumer, I would personally never place a claim that was so unjust to gain money. This is corruption. I don't know what else to do about it. I will be looking for auto insurance companies that fight fraudulent claims and threaten the agents. I am outraged because I have been scammed and so has everyone else who is paying Progressive. It's all of our money, not just mine. It affects our whole economic system. Is every insurance company doing this too? Not fighting against outrageous claims? What can be done about these frauds?

I am hoping to get some kind of resolve from this post. Are there ways to report her, get medical records, find out about her health insurance liens and make sure the lawyer is following through with reimbursement to the healthcare company? Truly, there are so many cases like this one. Shouldn't Progressive be investigated for not claiming fraud? Is it really all automated and there is nothing you can do about lying scammers and insurance fraud? Thank you.

We were in an accident involving a Progressive Ins. customer. It was their fault, driver told highway patrol he didn't see us and he sideswiped our car damaging the driver's side back to the front. After filing the claim a representative for Progressive called and asked to record our conversation and kept acting as if it was our fault. The driver plainly pulled over on our car. Well after speaking to the rep. 4 days passed and we heard nothing. I called back and she said they were still talking with their investigation dept. I asked what does that mean? She stuttered a sec and said well the driver of the car was not insured under this policy so we may not pay for your claim. She stated that was the SC law. How is it that I am required to have insurance and if I am caught without it I am in trouble.

But because this guy was driving his girlfriend's car with her in it and he wrecks her car they don't have to pay. Those does not seem right. The car had coverage but because her boyfriend was driving they get away with the accident free and it's my problem. Not to mention the highway patrol wrote him for not using his blinker to save his points and lower fine. Progressive is a joke and are bullies trying to make someone think an accident was their fault and not their client's. Seems the law needs to change where if you are driving someone else's vehicle and not covered under their policy then you are fined or liable for the accident. I shouldn't have to pay for underinsured ins. that cost me extra for people like this to drive with NO COVERAGE and pay nothing.

My rates increased without cause or notice. None of the agents were willing to explain the increases and they were always rude to me and my spouse. Poor customer service. My payments also took forever to post and caused me to have late fees a few times. Also I didn't care for their service. They weren't very helpful or nice. I switched companies as soon as I could.

I was parked at Lowe's, in about the third parking slot from the end of the row were there is a street that connects Walmart's parking lot with Lowe's. I was pulling out slowly. Forward look to my left then look to my right and started driving out of the parking lot towards Lowe's, and looked again to my left. At that time I saw a red truck coming at me fast and I hit my brakes. The Ford truck swerved to try to miss me but ended up hitting my car's front left quarter, causing damage to the entire fender and the hood. He hit me hard enough to move my car sideways a little.

We both got out of our vehicles he told me right off that he can't stay because he had drank a beer. He said this was his second accident in a couple of weeks and gave me his insurance card. He said it was his fault, it's a company truck, and they'll pay for everything. I took a picture of the insurance card with my phone and he took off. I realized then that my car would not start and it was leaking fluid after he left.

I have sent the company pictures of the damage showing way more damage to my vehicle than a 5 mile an hour crash, pictures of the parking lot showing I was parked near the top of the row and there's a street which their client must have pulled in from, and an accurate description of the accident. I also sent the police report I filed. Progressive has denied the claim even though in all my other conversations with the company, all agreed your client was at fault. I would like to know how a drunk barreling through a parking lot is not responsible when he hits a car.

I made a police report and the officer told me that he had to have been going very fast when he hit me based on the damage to my car. This is the second time I've dealt with Progressive on a claim that they would not pay. In both circumstances the first thing Progressive does is try to share responsibility with any other insurance companies you may have. And if they can't share they deny the claim. They do not care if you are not at fault they just don't want to pay claims.

DONT PURCHASE PROGESSIVE INSURANCE!!! The title of this review says it all. I was a progressive insured client that never had any accidents since 2011. I was at a red light (complete stop) and was rear-ended by a driver who was texting. My car was totaled but Progressive wanted me to drive my car to their nearest shop so they could see it for themselves versus having a adjuster come out and look at the vehicle. After it was determined that the car was indeed totaled and not road worthy I was then took through the ringer with them because the defendant was underinsured and per my policy I could go through them to collect the remaining funds entitled to me for being out of work for almost 6 months.

I was told since I was a Delaware resident I would need to provide a affidavit signed and notarized by the defendant saying that they did not have additional insurance for my claim even with the defendant and accident taking place in Maryland. Maryland law allows a plaintiff to file paperwork after 60 days before they are granted settlement from their insurance company without a signed affidavit from the defendant. I had to wait over 10 months to receive a signed affidavit to hand to Progressive.

Once I received the affidavit they told me I would need to follow Maryland laws as well and file the 60 day paperwork they told me I couldn't follow because of my residency. Yes I had a lawyer and yes they were in communication with Progressive for the entire time of this process and where told I could not follow the Maryland laws because I have a Delaware license although it happened in Maryland. It has now been almost two years and progressive is BS around because they don't want to pay on the claim after all the items they requested have been provided. I would not recommend this company to anybody to use for insurance or any other services they provide.

Updated on 06/30/2018: Dropped the hell out Progressive and warning anyone that’s looking for a new insurance carrier steer far away from this crooked company. Take heed to all the complaints as they’re not lies and true. The customer service rep had the nerve to ask me why I wanted to cancel my policy. I kindly told her I don’t like being in business with the devil. She then told me I would owe the $2.35. When they finally pay on the claim I’ve had with them then they will get that payment but until then they can kiss my entire **.

My insurance rate was $518 a month, granted I had two speeding tickets prior to getting the insurance & also an at fault accident. Within the first 30 days of having Progressive my car was hit, it was a hit & run. Then I got into an accident. Two claims in 30 days, understandable if they wanted to drop me. I was told after the accidents that my rate would go from $518 to $573 monthly because of the fact that I live with my mother. My mother has a different car, her OWN car insurance that’s full coverage. She wasn’t being covered at all by Progressive, so why the change in rate? Instead of telling the truth & letting me know the change of rate was because of my claims, they lied to cover it up. They sent me a cancellation, through an email, stating that they were cancelling because I didn’t review some documents they had sent me. I never once heard that because of not reviewing documents, they cancel your insurance.

Once I viewed the documents I was told my policy was renewed, that I would have to just pay two months amount June 29th, I was told this in the second week of May. Third week of May, I was told that they were dropping me because of my claims. A representative put me on hold for 40 minutes, my mother called on her cellphone while I was on hold. A representative picked up within 30 seconds, so we stuck with her but I stood on hold to see how long it would take for the woman to come back to the phone. Took another 15 minutes till someone picked up. The woman who had put me on hold, didn’t even come back to the phone; a different person, a man had no idea why I was on hold & didn’t even know my name or policy number. I hung up.

So I went ahead, got a different car insurance, dropped down to $440 a month also full coverage. Sent my cancellation through an email May 23rd, a representative told me it would only be $30 FINAL PAYMENT IN GENERAL TO PROGRESSIVE FOR CANCELLING & apparently I had no other amount due. Today, May 30th I’m being told I owe $95 due to an underpayment in May. I paid every month, the exact amount clearly because they took it straight out of my account. They stopped my payments. Why do I need to owe them money? Progressive’s employees need more training. Either that or they need to learn to stick by the rules & give exact information without beating around the bush. Worst insurance company I’ve ever dealt with.

My wife was rear-ended in our brand new vehicle 2 weeks ago. Progressive client was at 100% fault from the get-go. Progressive Adjusters attempted to lie and bully my wife and I. On several occasions we were threatened to have our rental car pulled out from under us. They also told us that we had no rights to get a second opinion on the value of the truck. The truck was to need complete cab and frame replacement and in my opinion should be totaled. Who wants a brand new truck with $20,000 in repairs? The truck should easily be totaled but Progressive is trying to avoid totaling this truck and there is a reason for it.

Their name says it all "Progressive". The entire experience has been very bizarre and emotionally draining. In my opinion, a company this corrupt should be shut down. We were even given a different adjuster... Misty, when we didn't just lie down and let them walk all over us. Misty used bullying and completely false information to try and shut us up. Progressive has a deal called total loss insurance that states Progressive is responsible for paying off the wrecked truck as well as purchasing a new truck for the party that was wrecked by their client. In my opinion this is why Progressive is trying to keep my truck from totalling by lying to my wife and I about everything concerning this claim.

When I finally get someone on the phone and explain my situation and that I have to return to Huntsville on Friday, I am told they cannot get anyone to fix my car until Saturday at the earliest. They partner with Safelite glass repair and despite the fact that both companies advertise quick repairs, they have proved to be worthless in this situation.

I am almost 300 miles from home with a busted windshield and the representative doesn't seem to understand why I don't want to drive through Memphis with a busted windshield. Then I am told that they put in a request for someone to fix it tomorrow, but that doesn’t mean they made an appointment. The only way I would know they were unable to get someone is if at the end of the day it still hasn’t been fixed. Thanks Progressive... I’ll just waste a whole day hoping someone will call or show up and if not I will just start this infuriating process all over. I will be changing companies as soon as I get home. I was able to print the insurance cards right then and received a hard copy about 3 days later. It was easy and I was happy.
