    I've tried reaching out in several ways to get questions answered on my policy (NOT CORONAVIRUS RELATED) and can not get answers.. Two of us on the policy I purchase have paid for a majority of the trip costs I insured, however the breakdown I received shows us all being insured for equal amounts. In addition, I need to update the address of two of the insured as well as input our destination. None of this can be done online, that I can tell, via the modification link. Please have someone reach out to me so that I can insure this policy will cover what I need. Otherwise I need to cancel and request a refund.

    I purchased my first policy on Aug 31 when I purchased my first ticket, but never received anything from CSA (It was $59). Because I couldn't locate a policy number, I purchased a 2nd policy before the planned flight date which is the policy above. On the day of departure, my traveling companions from CA canceled because of the Coronavirus quarantines, so my trip was canceled. In this situation, I have lost $2500 and feel I should get a refund for my trip or at the least for the 2 policies I purchased from you. Respectfully submitted, Sandra

    I live in Japan, and I thought it would be a good idea to have my nephews and niece (two young adults 16 &17 years old, one child 10 years old) visit me from the U.S. during their spring break. Well, as it turns out, Coronavirus has spread to Japan and increasing day by day. The CDC, WHO, and the Japanese government sent travel advisories informing the public not to travel to Japan unless necessary, and avoid public gatherings.

    Well, we decided to cancel the trip for the safety of the young lads. During their visit, they planned to visit DisneyLand & DisneySea, Kyoto, Tokyo SkyTree, and many other wonderful sites around Tokyo. A week before their arrival, the Japanese government ordered the closing of numerous sites and tourists attractions/events until further notice. Places such as Tokyo Disneyland, DisneySea, and a number of schools are closed to the public. I file a claim with Generali Global to get a refund of the full or close to the full ticket price; my claim denied. I guess the spread of Coronavirus is not justification enough to get a refund.

    Frustrating experience, I made a call in January to purchase trip insurance and never did because I was not sure I was getting the right policy at the time.     I bought this travel insurance on February 2nd, as I am travelling to Spain in May. I asked a lot of questions in their website chat before I bought it and I read all their terms and conditions. I went to look at my policy yesterday and they have a Orange bar at the top of the website about corona virus, this was not on their main page on the website when I purchased although Generali says they had the notice somewhere on their website when I purchased the insurance but at that time it was not prominent on their website. I was very thorough and never found this notice, it is very prominently displayed now.

    So the notice says that if you purchased your insurance after January 22nd and you don't travel because you have the virus that their illness protection will not cover you because that illness is foreseeable. Ok, so who anticipates that they will have an illness/virus months before their trip? They don't do this for flu season and that is a foreseeable illness every year. I understood when I bought the insurance that they didn't cover pandemics, but had no idea that they wouldn't cover me months down the line if I caught the coronavirus when it wasn't considered a pandemic. BUYER BEWARE! If you are buying travel insurance from them they will not cover if you don't travel because you are sick with coronavirus.

    I only bought insurance from this company because they were supposed to be reputable and not do shady things like this. They should have been very clear upfront that they would not cover this. I guess they are acting like the typical travel insurance scam where they insure you and then they will do everything they can to weasel out of paying if something happens. I tried talking to them and they refuse to even comment on why they cover flu outbreaks during flu season which is foreseeable every year. Who anticipates catching a virus months ahead of time? Bottom line look to other insurance providers who act ethically and honestly. I feel like they just took my money and weren't upfront about this coronavirus. I will never do business with this company again and would urge others not to.

    In August of 2019 I put a deposit down on a Carnival cruise and my tour guide took the money for insurance with Generali Global Assistance. (Claim #**) The cruise left Minneapolis Mn on February 1st 2020. My friend and I got up at 2am and got to the airport almost 3 hours ahead of time, even though this was only a domestic flight to Miami. Unknown to us, Sun Country has their international flights AND domestic flights on Saturday, and there were HUNDREDS of people in line.

    After an hour, we started to panic. We told people in charge we HAD to get on that flight, but they said there was nothing they could do and that security was also backed up 45 minutes. We got to the check-in and even though they were holding the plane for an extra half hour they would not let us check our suitcases or board the plane. It was devastating, and there were many other people in the same situation.. all missing flights. In the back of my mind I knew I had insurance, so I was relieved somewhat. But guess what, after making copies of all the things they wanted, I was turned down for any kind of compensation because they do not cover, in their words, missing the plane due to "long lines". The airline admitted it was their fault, and refunded our tickets in cash. But still, Generali refuses to cover anything. Very aggravating. Never never use this insurance.

    BEWARE! They will do everything possible to deny your legitimate claim. We missed a flight due to the cancellation of the rail service to Fumicino airport but Generali claimed our policy does not cover this because the actual train didn't break down, even though the railroad provided a letter stating that the rail service was cancelled due to equipment fire and train is not even mentioned in the text of the policy. Only after I had complained to the CA insurance commissioner did Generali changed their tune and paid out the insurance. Also policy coverage was insufficient to cover the cost of the replacement tickets due to the very low coverage limits. Also, while speaking to a representative, I noticed that your website says that civil disorder is covered by the policy; your representative pointed out that it is not. The policy says it is not a valid reason for cancellation. The website information may be misleading as in the section right above BAGGAGE, as a covered event, it lists Civil Disorder.

    I've used Generali Global Assistance for the past six years every time I go on a trip out of the country. Their online process has been very easy for me when I purchase. I like the dollar amount of insurance I get for the money I pay. Most of the other companies only offer $50,000 while I can get a quarter of a million from Generali with $1 million worth of emergency service. They've also added a new policy which gives me $50,000 in coverage on rental cars, which is a nice little bonus for the same price. Our health insurance doesn't cover us when we go overseas. Getting Generali is a way to make sure that I can have enough money to cover to get me back to the States.
