This is the worst over-priced insurance. Do not get insured by Geico. Run and get some affordable insurance. They do not care about their members. All they care about is the money. The supervisors are undertrained. They are not empathetic to their members' situations. They need further training. I am a safe driver, with no accidents at all, and they still do not try and accommodate me when I need the help. I am actively looking for another policy with a company that shows empathy for their members.

I live full time in an rv travel around the country working, seems like all insurance companies are seemingly taking advantage of rv'ers because of the option we have more money because of the price of our rigs. The price is no difference than a home but yet we're considered homeless. I was recently (today), rear-ended by another vehicle on my way to work, and filed a claim with Geico, which has resulted in several Emails sent to me, many of which have links provided in them, but I cannot use these links because they claim to be sending me a text message security code, that never comes. I thought this may have been a solitary issue, but every Geico link requires a security code to be entered, and there is no other option but to have them send it to you by text, which they do not seem to be capable of doing for some reason.

I have had Geico as my insurance now for a few years, and have never been disappointed with them until today. I find it confusing, and frustrating that they cannot even manage to send a simple text message, that they are REQUIRING for access to your claim information. I suppose I will have to wait until tomorrow, and call them, but it would be more reassuring to think that my insurance company knows how to work a text message, or at least could provide other options for security checks, beside a phone number that they obviously do not know how to use properly. I am upset, and perturbed by this, and may even start shopping around for a different insurance provider as a result. For the record, I did try clicking on 'Resend Text' several times, and still have never gotten a text of any sort.

Geico set up my claim, sent an adjuster out, deemed my vehicle as total loss and sent documentation of incident only to back out and say, "Sorry this isn't covered with your policy." They said it falls under mechanical and the supervisor said it falls under “negligence” and that's not something I have with my policy. Background of situation: I received an oil change that seemed to mess up everything in my car.

I stated to them this is my first lease vehicle and I already have full coverage. I didn't know I had to add an additional coverage for mechanical. Nicholaus stated that's something that was asked when I first added vehicle. And there's nothing he can do and it's up to me with what I want to do with the car. Then switches me to customer service to see if I can hear the pre recorded conversation for them to only tell me it doesn't go that far back. I asked to speak to a supervisor for the unfairness of this whole process and the only thing he can offer me is an apology. It also took me a week! To speak to a supervisor.

Life lesson I been with Geico for about 6 years and this was the first and last sign I needed to see. Everyone gives you different information and they are not helpful. Only thing they know how to do is apologize for their mistakes. Now my car is listed as a total loss vehicle with no one to cover it. What's the point of having insurance. I also called corporate and haven't heard back. They know how to promote and sell their insurance very good but if it has something to do with coverage when things actually happen, be careful trusting your policy with them.

I was told that the policy is through Assurant, a contractor. I was placed on hold again. 30 min later I reached them. The person I spoke with told me she is unable to cancel the policy, I have to do this online. How? This is not my policy. She was not able to provide more information as to why she was unable to cancel the policy. I asked to speak to her supervisor. After 15 min on hold I gave up. I reached another representative (in the sales department, much higher rate of literacy in this department!), who told me a written attestation was required and would be initiated via email sent to me.

Currently I am on hold with yet another representative who is attempting to figure out how to do this. It has been yet another 15 min, but at least she expressed her condolences and sounded more empathetic, so I am more willing to wait. It has been an hour. This is not something I would want anyone to go through after the death of a loved one. Not impressed Geico. Poor automated system, staff are not knowledgeable, contractor company has excessive wait times, rude and unknowledgeable staff. Terrible. Update: Currently their "system is down" (this is Assurant). My daughter had a spotless record with Geico for many years, no claims and paid her bills on time using autopay with paperless billing. Her credit card expired and a payment was denied. She just gave birth, was in between jobs and in the process of moving to another state. The one email was overlooked in the turmoil, in fact it could have even found its way in the spam folder. Then came an email stating that her insurance ended, did she want to reinstate it. She quickly called up Geico to clear up this issue, pay the unpaid bill and provide the updated credit card expiration date. The representative said ok but her insurance would go from $165 to $241! She said to reduce the increase by a small amount, she would have to take a defensive driving course!!

Now what does this have to do with updating a credit card expiration date in autopay! My daughter said this is no way to treat a long time customer and said she would switch Insurance companies to which the representative said, “Good luck finding another company willing to insure someone with your history”. History!!!! Is she mad! Being late with one payment after years of on time payments because of a common event of a credit card expiring is called History? On the most recent occasion, I was given the biggest run-around on a simple tow request. What they did was send the least reputable tow company imaginable who then proceeded to extort a vastly expanded amount of extra money from me ON THE SPOT at the destination for the tow! The tow company claimed the mileage was higher, they charged $6/mi for every mile above 6 miles, and the agreement Geico had with ALL tow companies they use is first 20 miles FREE to customer, and Geico pays for that.

NOT ONLY did Geico never refund the money back to me over a month ago as they stated they would do, but I had to call back REPEATEDLY. The LAST time I called back (today), I was told they were "waiting on me to send them a copy of the tow receipt"!!! YES, they punked me, just like the Backwoods tow truck service! DO NOT TRUST GEICO! First, they did not let me have a rental because they just could not get all the papers in order, while my car was already in the shop. So I did not get a rental, and was using Uber or asking friends to give me rides. Once the papers were finally ready - they told me that since it was too late to get a rental now, they will just reimburse me for each day of me not having a car, at a $25/day rate. Weeks go by - no reimbursement, I make multiple calls (hours wasted) - and hear the same story, they need more evidence that I had to use alternate transportation for 7 days, since the document with the repair estimates lists 11 hours as the estimate.

Of course, never mind that the car was actually in the shop for 7 days.... Everybody knows that the car shops are not going to jump on your car repair right away. You bring them a car, and based on their load it may take days before they actually start working on it ... Anyway, I got so tired of calling and arguing - I said, “Forget it, keep whatever money you've got out of me.” Would definitely NOT recommend this crappy company to anybody.

I am thoroughly disappointed in how Geico claims to guarantee excellent customer service, yet that is the furthest I have received. I have called other companies to search for new insurance and I have received better service and communication. I have been fighting back and forth to get a claim resolved since February. My first agent, Samantha, was impossible to reach and my second, Shanicka, is better but I still have left voicemails that have not been returned in a timely manner.

I first get told by the cop she is ruling it 50/50 meaning we both pay our own damages because I was in the lines of my parking spot that the other party was pulling into but didn't realize I had a hitch and she hit me from behind.. I reversed and in my mirrors not my back up cam was she there when I started backing up or as I came to a stop to pull out of my parking space. Then the company rules 50/50 meaning we EACH pay 50 of the other parties damage. Mind you I was informed this by my GEICO agent. Then the other party tried to fight for me owing a 100% and thankfully my agent declined that on basis both of us failed to have a proper lookout. I have been told it was 50/50 from the start and was told the 100% was declined in March or April. My agent advised me to send in my damages bill to her so she could forward over to the other party.

I did so in April and again in May when I was assigned a new agent without knowing or being informed until she contacted me about the damages in June. I was then told, "Oh yes you need your money so let's get this taken care of. Call me in 2 days if you haven't heard from me." I call her back and she states, "Well we accepted fifty on your behalf, but the other party did not accept 50." I said, "Well since she hit me from the behind while I was in my parking spot lines then why was I not offered to decline 50%."

I was so frustrated as I was already told 50/50 on every occasion previously and never communicated it was declined as I was waiting months for my check. Then my agent agreed this was not right and got supervisors involved, but said they may not be able to listen to calls as they were months back so would be making a decision blindly possibly. I said they either need to accept 50/50 or decline my fifty because I was not getting screwed. Fortunately, they ruled 50/50 and we went along with the process and I was told my check would come in two weeks. When it of course did not I called to check in and they said they did not see a check issued and that they would have to other adjustor's supervisor call me or mine. Neither called, yet again the theme of lack of communication and being lied to.

I called my adjustor twice and left voicemails as well as had customer service line email. She did return my call a couple days later to let me know the other party declined to pay me and i cannot decline to pay her because an arbitrator decided and it's final. I asked how did they decided without talking to me or even having the pics of me in my spot with the other called diagonal clearly pulling in or with me in lines parked? Shanicka said, "I am unsure but this is all wrong and not fair. I am so sorry."

I said, "Well this is not 50/50. Can a supervisor call me" and she said, "I can request that but she will more than likely not call you because she cannot change the decision." I said, "Irregardless I want to be walked through how this happened and how it was supervisor decided 50/50 agreement, yet that didn’t happen." She said again, "I can try, but she probably won’t call you back. I am so sorry." I don’t understand how this happened. It is unjust and not fair.

We both have GEICO, but it seems they are being an advocate and protecting the other party better which is why I will be ending my policy with them. Don't pay to not be heard, advocated and protected in the time of accidents and most certainly not to be not communicated with or talked through things with a supervisor to explain how my situation panned out not 50/50 or equally.

I had GEICO auto insurance several years ago for six months only. I switched back to Nationwide when I learned how expensive my homeowner’s insurance was going to be with Nationwide if Nationwide didn’t also have my auto insurance policy. My auto insurance has been back with Nationwide for at least four and a half years. Today I went to the license plate agency to renew my license plate on one of my cars (I didn’t even own this car when I was with GEICO). DMV received notice from GEICO that they had terminated my auto insurance effective May 20, 2019. WHAT??? I was being assessed a $50 fine and am unable to renew my tag until I get a certain form sent to the license plate agency.

I called my insurance agent with Nationwide, but, alas, after two fax attempts and about an hour, the forms never arrived. I called again, and my agent emailed me the form, but I was unable to print the form there because they had no AirPrint printers. There also seemed to be no way to fax the form from my phone. I went home and printed out the form. Now I have to make a separate trip and stand in line all over again to renew my license plate. GEICO has cost me a lot of time and hassle over nothing. The lady at the license plate agency said that something similar had happened to her with GEICO.

Two more weeks go by and I receive a bill in the mail. I call and talked to a customer service rep who told me they added more coverage (without my authorization) and that the letter they mailed out was already past the deadline (ON THEIR SIDE) so even though I returned the documents in two days, it was too late and I would have to pay...unbelievable that they didn't send required documents out in time, documents I wasn't even aware up, but I have to foot the bill. I was involved in an accident and Geico, being the other driver's company, sends me a letter for me to call them and give them my recorded statement. As soon as I open the letter I go ahead and try my best to cooperate and make this process go by as quickly and easily as possible. Because I am a minor they need permission from my father to speak to me, they get that right away, as we were willing to cooperate. I call back on multiple occasions to see what the hold up is and why they have yet to take my recorded statement. I'm told that the recording machine of the person handling this claim is broken, that it should be fixed within a week and I will be given a call back.

Three weeks go by from that phone call and I finally hear back from the representative that she can now take my recorded statement almost 2 months after the accident happened, nonetheless I try to recall all the details and give her, to the best of my knowledge, the story. After the recording is finished I simply ask why they waited almost 2 months to ask me for the story and I get gross attitude from someone who should be talking to me professionally. She tells me, and I quote, "First we needed your father's permission because you are a minor and like I told you my recorder was broken, I shouldn't even have to be explaining this to you, but I will." What kind of professionalism is this?

It's unbelievable to me that a company that's so well known has such rude, disrespectful employees. I simply asked her a logical question the attitude was completely uncalled for and unnecessary. I highly suggest that Geico checks on their employees because the way she spoke to me, someone trying to cooperate, where I have absolutely no legal obligation to do so, is completely inappropriate. Due to being treated so poorly I refuse to answer any more questions this company has and will make sure everyone know just how disrespectful their employees have been.

I’ve been a Geico customer for 20 yrs. I’ve never had to reach out to them for anything in the past, but the one time I have had to, it’s been such a HORRIBLE experience. My adjuster never returns my calls and Geico has not provided the level of service they claim to provide in this case. I requested them to review my claim and the facts of the incident multiple times, and yet they have made such an unfair judgement. I think it’s because both parties in the claim are Geico customers! My car was hit from behind while taking a legitimate left turn. The other party was turning right, did not yield and hit my car from behind.

She changed her statement on multiple occasions (first stating she had the red light, then the green light and then stating the scene of the incident was much farther away from the lights!!). I submitted photos of the damage, pictures of the intersection and traffic light coordination. It was very evident from the pictures that the other party did not yield on a stoplight. Despite recreating the scene for them, the Geico adjusters (not stating names here) did not review this carefully. Instead they said that “no party was at fault”!!!! They’ve made this such a horrible experience and so stressful for me to deal with. I will now have to reconsider my insurance choice, especially if this is the service they provide when you need them the most!!!

After using Geico for a year I am NOT happy. You will get a lower payment, but at a cost. A minor fender bender (no cops, no damage to my vehicle, minor damage to other vehicle) increased my premium by $120+ dollars. Now I pay more than with my previous insurance. Recently, my car was totaled and now I'm being told I can't use my 30-day rental. I have to buy a new car in 5 days and return the rental. My policy doesn't state that, but the adjuster says it's an “amendment”. So, I've been paying for 30-day rental service I now can't use to be able to get a new car. You will get what you pay for. You'll get your lower payment to start but as soon as you need to use your policy, your premiums will skyrocket and they will cut corners anywhere they can. I will most likely go back to my previous insurance. A higher premium is worth peace of mind in this case. Again, you get what you pay for.

Hi, I have been Geico customer for over 2 years and got my 2 cars and 1 motorcycle insured with them. Never filed a claim for damage till date. First time called and filed claim for the glass of windshield damage. on June 13. The vendor of GEICO asked for inspection on June 15 and I provided them details and pictures. On June 23 they said they want pictures again. Then on July first week, they approved claim. A simple glass claim which was very small, they took like a month to complete it. They gave all kind of catch. The glass crack started expanding and the car was not safe to use anymore.

I call customer care to tell them that their vendor are delaying and that is not fair. I need to get the glass fixed and need to take the car as I was traveling to Portland for a week. The person did not even listen what I said and told I have to get the inspection done. I told him I am not bypassing the inspection, but just make it fast as I need car in right condition for travel. He did not respond and kept repeating I have to get the inspection done. I asked for for higher authority to escalate the issue and the customer service rep said on the recorded line "He is the highest level of authority for this escalation and there is nothing I can do." I thought I was talking to CEO Of the company.

As a result, I had to rent a car from SIXT for 9 days and paid $457 since I could not use my car and GEICO delayed claim. I paid hefty ~200 every month since last 2 year and for first time I wanted claim of glass costing ~450$ from Geico passed (EVEN THOUGH I AM PAYING 500$ deductible for the same claim which is more than the cost of the whole glass), GEICO did not come through and did not do what it is supposed to do.

Worst customer service and poor customer retention. They do not value the customer at all. They thinks customer are fool and even their call center agent has more authority than the customer who actually pays Geico. Insanely frustrating and a fraud ins company. Please do not buy Geico. They offer lower rates policy but catch it you can not get claims done or any customer support. #hategeico

Been with GEICO 15 to 20 years, can't even recall not having them. Generally, good service and helpful in keeping my rates low,\; lowest ever last year, both of us retired, very low mileage and I diligently take my Defensive Driver course as needed. Just received my July-January renewal and it has increased by 22%! I usually project an ever-so-slight reduction due to depreciation of the vehicles and was totally blindsided by this news. WORSE, after a 20 minute line by line review of my last three policies I found the one & only difference, I (and my Def Driver discount) have been switched from "Veh 2" the one I drive to "Veh 1", the one my wife drives.

STILL WORSE: Assuming I had found the glitch (feeling very proud of myself) I called to explain to the GEICO agent what I'd discovered and assumed all would be well in a minute or two. But, no. She explained in a "prepared speech manner" that GEICO has "moved away from a manual assignment of drivers to their vehicle in lieu of an Intentional Automatic SYSTEM-assignment of "highest risk driver to highest risk vehicle." (Unsure of what determines a 'higher risk vehicle'). However, my agent was very clear that this CHANGE OF ASSIGNMENTS was not a manual oversight or mistake, it was system generated and CANNOT be reassigned/changed manually and, it was indeed the basis for my 22% increase.

When I suggested my wife and I each simply insure our own vehicles she instantly, without a moment's reflection told me that would be more expensive. I asked how she could know and she told me she had done this comparison lots of times. Knowing it would be futile, I asked her to give me the two quotes, both of which were even higher than the renewal I was facing... she was right. Next comments will be to the Insurance Commissioner and then ClassAction.org.

You see the TV for endless GEICO ads - however, when you are in an car accident (even when its not your fault) and you make a claim (uninsured motorist) GEICO will send you (and your damaged auto) to a collision center where their adjusters will provide an "estimate". Routinely, the Adjuster(s) will "Low-Ball" your claim; in My case they reduced the "Hourly allowable Rate" the Auto Body Shop charges. The Dealership fully recommends specific Auto Body Shops - GEICO refuses to act "honorable" and pay the usual and customary rate of $50 per/hour they allow $44 per/hour thus costing the insured (me) the unpaid difference.

Secondly, they refuse to allow the full replacement cost of new parts - they allow a reduced amount for body parts.

Thirdly, they refuse to allow "loss of value" for your car - once damaged the repair is on your VIN forever and reduces your re-sale value. Fourthly, they refuse to allow for your "loss of earnings" while they are cheating you on the damage repair. Fifthly, they refuse to allow (pay for) a substitute rental or Uber or cabs fees you paid while your car was repaired. GEICO Adjusters present a clear and present consumer fraud a criminal enterprise and should be prevented from selling insurance in the Greater DC Metropolitan Area (Virginia, Maryland, DC). Write your complaint to your State Insurance Commissioner - tell them "Outlaw GEICO for continuing Fraud - Sanction GEICO Billions".

My family has carried GEICO auto and home insurance for years. We covered my children on the policy, as well. In mid-2017, I contacted GEICO to inform them that my young adult daughter (who was on the policy) would be moving out of the country for two years for a college program (and would not be visiting home during this time period). They promised to remove her from the policy and add her back on upon return.

In December, upon re-evaluation of the policy, they increased our premium from about 5k annually to over 10k because of traffic infractions she incurred in 2016. I immediately called them and said that she was no longer living at home, did not own a vehicle and did not have access to our vehicles and we would put her back on the policy when she returned. They said they couldn't do that and we were forced to pay because we couldn't prove she had insurance elsewhere. Huh? She didn't need auto insurance elsewhere because she would not be driving in Europe and she did not live at home.

Why are we required to pay under these circumstances? Especially, when they promised to remove her. They claimed it was an insurance law in NH, but no other provider that I spoke with did business this way. I quickly found another insurer and all is well, but GEICO charged me for 10 days of astronomical prorated premiums from the time I cancelled the policy to finding a new policy. This was almost $300! I wouldn't have minded paying my usual premium overage charge, but they found a way to gouge me, even though they made the error by not removing her. Now, it's referred to a collection agency and I have no option but pay it. I asked CS for instructions on how to appeal and was told, "We don't appeal complaints". DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH GEICO. Really shady business practices!

Only I was told to be waited until resolution will be made and call back to report status but it was never kept until I called them back for 3 times and made complaint about it.

I was expected they are trying to find out alternative solution quickly and let me get out of the place since it is their fault with Enterprise but it was not happening as I hoped up. I should come back home without rent car helping by others. All I have response from Geico after that is you will not be penalized by Enterprise. Should I really be told that way from Geico even though it was not my fault and never get any apologies? They do not have any backup plan or system if the similar or same thing happens to you. I had bought an auto policy through Geico, paid in full and everything and got full coverage for my vehicle. I just got into a recent accident, filed a claim and they basically wasted my time wanting to file the claim first then send out roadside assistance. Couldn't give me the roadside assistance first. After filing a claim and giving all the information I have went through many agents. All of them had told me to pay my deductible in order for me to get my car back asap. Just not one second they automatically recommended me to pay a deductible when I was the one not at fault. Also I had paid for roadside assistance in full. They want me to pay for towing. They told me emergency roadside assistance is not covered. I have to pay a fee. I paid in full for my policy. They didn't even bother helping me out, just wanted to suck more money out of my wallet. Didn't bother wanting to wait for the police report and didn't bother giving me any support.

I was stranded in another state I didn't belong. I felt scammed that I paid so much money for my policy. At the end they told me I have to pay fees and a deductible, very rude and unprofessional. The options that they gave me was to benefit them. Not me. Also they wanted me to get my car out of the tow lot asap because they didn't want to deal with the other person's insurance. Long story short they wanted me to pay everything so they don't have to deal with the other person's insurance. I felt scammed. After my policy ends I am switching over. Geico has always disappointed me. They make rates affordable but coverage is dirt.

I damaged the side of my car and went online to Geico's website to file a claim. The site said "A GEICO auto damage adjuster will meet with you AT THE REPAIR facility to evaluate the damage...explain repair process and answer questions, arrange for you to leave your vehicle for repair..." That DID NOT HAPPEN. I arrived at the GEICO approved and suggested repair shop and the damage adjuster was not there. I was told that he wouldn't come in until later but they didn't know what time. Still distraught about my car, I trusted GEICO and the shop that they recommended, so I left my car there. Hours later I still didn't hear anything so I went online and discovered that the repair shop had over 3 dozen 1 star reviews! So of course now I'm worried.

I called GEICO to see if I could have my car moved and was told it had already been disassembled and I would have to pay to have it reassembled. I still had not been given a quote or anything, and had not heard from or met the insurance adjuster that GEICO stated would be there when I dropped my car off. GEICO customer service transferred me to the insurance adjuster, Sergio and I got his voicemail. I left a message. No call back. So I called Geico again, still trying to find out something, anything and, miraculously, they were able to finally connect me with the adjuster. Was he just not answering calls? He said he had not seen the car but would POSSIBLY get around to it today and would probably get back to me the next day.

It's been 24 hours and I still don't have any clue what's going on. Sergio has not contacted me. Clearly, I was misled. And now I'm worried. The repair shop said they cannot begin working on the car until the GEICO adjuster/Sergio gets back to them and gives them the okay. But I'm the owner of the vehicle so I should have the final say. So far, I have wasted 2 days and I'm paying for a rental car out of my own pocket, daily, until this GEICO adjuster decides to give the go ahead to begin work on my car.

GEICO likes to draw customers in with their claims of great rates and their cute commercials. But hidden behind the decent rates and the adorable commercials is a monster! Not only is GEICO a bait-and-switch company that raises rates the first chance they get but they also will do everything that they can to avoid paying to fix your car! I am 52 years old and never had an accident as an adult on my own policy. In fact my wife and all 4 of my kids have gone accident free until my daughter had an accident recently that was her fault. When my daughter turned 16 I splurged and bought her a 2016 Jeep Patriot with very low miles. It was a R-Title having been in a front end collision. R-title vehicles go through strict state inspections before they get plates on them in the state of PA. In addition GEICO had no problem providing full coverage for the vehicle.

But after a mail truck tore across the front of the Jeep GEICO paid about $11 after my $1,000 deductible and refused to fix the most expensive damage that occurred in the accident! The con-artists at GEICO will send their nasty insurance adjusters to the dealership to intimidate them making sure they spend as little as possible! An electrical problem developed in a harness as a result of being pulled on in the accident. After almost 2 years of no problems with the car the electrical problem started literally the morning after the accident when my daughter first tried to use the car. We had to have it towed to the dealership. At first they misdiagnosed the problem stating that the issue was due to corrosion on terminals in the box the harness was attached to. They claimed it had nothing to do with the accident.

I did not feel it was possible that any corrosion just magically got bad enough at that exact time to cause this but they refused to do anything else. So for months we dealt with this intermittent problem with the vehicle that left my children stranded in various locations unable to even start the car. It then got so bad one day that I decided to check the "corroded terminals" again. I opened the hood and it took all of 10 minutes for me to figure out the problem had absolutely nothing at all to do with corroded terminals but that the wire harness had an intermittent problem that could easily be reproduced just by moving it around! So I called the insurance adjuster and after much argument he finally agreed to have it looked at again. So I took the vehicle to a different dealership this time.

After looking at the problem they called me and in discussing the problem told me that the issue had to have happened in the accident my daughter had. Well then the next day the GEICO insurance adjuster shows up and then calls me and states that the harness was routed over a sharp edge and therefore the problem was normal wear and tear!!! Are you kidding me??? According to them this harness under the hood which never moves and has a heavy-gauge net and multiple layers of tape was worn and damaged from a sharp edge. And they decided all this even though the dealership never pin-pointed the location of the damage since there was no damage to the outside of the harness!

And after the visit from the GEICO this dealership would not return my calls. More intimidation! I have run this problem up the chain through many levels at GEICO only in the end to be sent a register mail stating that they will never cover the repair. What a joke this company is! What the hell am I paying for if they cannot even cover a repair that obviously happened in an accident for a customer with a previously family-wide perfect driving record?!!? I would urge all to consider other companies for your insurance needs. This place is a leftover government institution that has the money and power to avoid paying claims. Just research some of their history.

So I purchased another vehicle. Then a couple weeks later the car comes up and I inform Geico who then tells me I must keep the car and get it fixed although we were in agreement that they were taking ownership. Turns out they didn't have everything they needed which I was unaware of. Then I say, "Okay fix the car," and I have to deal with it. Then they decide that they won't approve all of the repairs because the car sustained additional damage at the tow facility that wasn't caused by the theft. So then because I changed my policy to cover my new vehicle a while back they're saying it wasn't covered when it was damaged further so there's nothing they can do about the additional damage.

What is the most important thing about auto insurance? If and when you get into an accident, your insurance company will be your advocate and ultimately fix your vehicle to the same condition it was prior to the accident. Well if that's the case, people should look elsewhere for insurance coverage. Geico will not help out its customers and will make decisions that are in the best interest for them. I had the unfortunate luck of getting into an accident with an uninsured motorist. The uninsured person not only hit my truck but hit another vehicle in the process. The accident occurred on a highway going about 70mph. At that speed, the impact can cause some serious damage to your vehicle cosmetically, but also to mechanical parts such as the suspension especially since the primary point of contact on my vehicle was the front and rear passenger wheels.

Well, I took the car to an approved Geico body shop. I told them I was having some issues with the braking and heard some knocking noises when I put the truck in reverse. They assured me that they would do a thorough inspection and find all of the issues. Well after being in the shop for a week, I get the truck back and find that the knocking noise is still there. This noise wasn't present prior to the accident and now was constantly there.

I called their claims department and told them the issues I had. They advised me to bring it back to the place it was originally fixed, which I did. After a few hours, the body shop told me to take it to their diagnostic place to see if they could figure out the issue. The diagnostic place identified a stress crack in my strut and ball joint damage, which probably occurred during the accident with the high impact of the crash. The diagnostic place said the strut damage was unusual for wear and tear and was the first time they had seen that type of damage on the strut. Geico sent out another adjuster to see the damage and concluded that since the strut was on the driver side and not on the impact side that the accident could not have caused the damage.

This is mind-blowing stupidity in my estimation. At the high rate of speed and the overall impact of the accident, not to mention the impact point, I find it hard to believe an adjuster could make that kind of determination. It makes complete sense since Geico really doesn't care about the customer, but wants to save money throughout the whole process. I spoke to the adjuster's supervisor who basically said the same thing and made every single kind of excuse why it couldn't be from the accident. Since Geico can't own up to its end of the bargain, I'm stuck with a truck in worse condition than it was prior to the accident. Geico really doesn't care, they only are concerned with making excuses and saving money.

I've come to the conclusion that they make great commercials and are somewhat cheaper than other insurance companies, but overall that savings has to come from somewhere. That somewhere is providing inferior parts (aftermarket) and denying accident-related damage to save money. I had USAA for years and switched to Geico because it was cheaper. Now I realize based on the type of service I received with USAA and now with Geico why I paid a little bit more for OEM parts and way less stress fighting with my insurance company, who ultimately should support me in these types of incidents. Just remember, cheap you buy, cheap you get. Don't be fooled with the gimmicks from Geico. They will find any possible way to screw you and not help you out in any way. You have been warned....do not make the same mistake I did and switch to this scam of a company!

I immediately get a call from their call center then, with them saying they didn't have my phone number. I know this is a lie, because I typed it in myself, as well as confirmed it was still there when I first logged on.

They tell me they are at fault and will pay for my damages to be repaired. The service rep says I can choose any shop I wish to do the repairs, but lists the two they have inspectors at. I have had terrible experiences at both, so I decline and tell her which shop I wish to use (Euro shop for a Euro car). She says great, but I still have to have it inspected. I tell her I can do it the Tuesday of next week. She gives me appts for the next day and Monday only. I tell her repeatedly I cannot do that and ask about the next week. SHE CAN'T SCHEDULE A WEEK AWAY. I then ask about someone coming here, because I know Geico has cars they drive. She said that isn't doable because my car is drivable. I work 8-5, M-F at a job I just started. I wasn't at fault at all, yet I am expected to lose 3 days of work (Inspection, drop off at shop, pickup at shop) to accommodate them? No. My husband called and magically, they had someone coming out to me.

The adjuster comes out to my place of work (after I give him the correct address because they were going to the insured's house... incompetent) on 5/9/19. He does a quick estimate, then prints me a check. He then mentions since I chose a premium shop that charges more for labor rates than Geico pays, I am responsible for the OOP cost difference. FOR THEIR INSURED HITTING ME. Nope. I am not getting subpar work done at their subpar ** shops.

I then call my insurance, who cannot do anything. I call back to Geico corporate, when the rep says the shop is being greedy and to haggle with them. Trade jobs are incredibly difficult and I don't need some guy in a cubicle diminishing them. They charge what they charge for a reason with their quick and accurate work. He shuts up when I correct him and sends me back to the adjuster.

The adjuster starts rambling about how I can go to any other shop in the area and have the work done just as well (I cannot). He continually places the additional cost onto me, the only innocent person in this mess, and tells me it is my choice. This wasn't mentioned prior by any rep. This wasn't mentioned to the insured. Someone hit me. I have to pay? NO. So either they are paying the extra cost or they are going to court with me. I am not paying for someone else's mistake.

Their customer service is terrible. Their claims process is terrible. They have lied consistently to us this week and have shady business practices. They want to cheap out on parts and repair and call it good quality. My Audi is not going to be cheaped out on Ray. They want to push Caliber, who basically works for Geico now, instead of doing what is best for my vehicle (that was, once again, HIT BY THEIR INSURED). Crappy business. Crappy people. If someone with Geico hits you, it is easier to drive off than to deal with these incompetent people and their shady employer.

I am 39 years old and was with Geico for 16 years. I have a perfect driving record and excellent credit and yet each year my rate was just a little higher. This didn't seem right so I decided to shop around and discovered that other companies would offer me the same plan for 20-35% less so I switched. When I notified Geico they explained that my rate was high because I had been "grandfathered" into an older plan and that they could in fact match or meet the other companies. I told them no. Instead of rewarding my loyalty they choose to abuse it by artificially keeping my rates high; why on earth would I want to consider being their customer when they just admitted to that?

On April 18, 2019 at 3:30 PM, I left work. As my typical routine goes, I was on my way to pick up my kids at school. At 3:45 PM, my vehicle was struck on the rear driver’s side panel. To the side of the bumper, next to the left hand signal light. I was traveling northbound on South Kirkman Road, on the far left lane. At the moment of impact, I was being held still by traffic that was waiting on a red light change. Traffic was steady still, and I was simply waiting for traffic to continue moving. The young lady who hit me was attempting to get into the left turning lane leading into the Valencia College campus. She was obviously in a hurry, and made the poor judgment on the space she was trying to squeeze through. After the impact occurred, I came out of my car and immediately took pictures of the damage to my vehicle.

I then approached the lady who hit me. She was apologetic and looking for her information. She provided her license, which I took a picture of. She was not able to locate her insurance card at that particular moment, so I never really got that information. She did however state that her insurance was GEICO. I went ahead and took pictures of the damage to her vehicle, and her license plate. She made no effort to come out to access the damages. She stated that she was in a hurry to take an exam. There were no witnesses, and no police report was filed. Under the circumstances, we both needed to get somewhere, and did not have the time to sit there waiting for law enforcement to arrive. On my end, I felt my pictures were sufficient and depicted everything accurately.

Later on that day, I reached out to my insurance company, to let them know what had happened. They told me that I would be responsible for a $500 deductible. I was beside myself to say the least! My immediate reaction… There is no way that I will pay $500 to fix my car, as a result of someone else’s carelessness! For starters…I just purchased my car in March. I hadn’t even made my first payment on it. It is a newer/used 2017 Nissan Versa. Clean inside and out without any damage or accident history. I was told that I could contact her insurance company (GEICO), and file a claim with them. So I went ahead and did just that. They took all my initial information, and told me that they needed to gather the initial information from the other party as well.

They went ahead and emailed me a link that would provide the status to my claim. I checked on it regularly for several days, but heard nothing back from them (GEICO). I then decided to reach out to GEICO, and was told that they were trying to get a hold of the other party, but she could not be reached. About 2 weeks went by and I finally heard from the person handling my claim. They needed to gather a detailed statement from me, even though they still had not been able to locate the other party. I was fine with that, since it appeared that what occurred was pretty obvious. My information was factual, and I had great pictures to back me up. All my information was provided, and recorded from their end. I also provided all the pictures necessary to show the damage to my vehicle. A few more days went by without any feedback from them.

Eventually, I get a callback to let me know that they finally got a hold of the other party. They were just keeping me informed, and told me that they needed to get her detailed statement. A few more days go by, and I finally hear back from the person handling my claim. She tells me in her la dee dah voice, that “unfortunately” they cannot cover my damages because their insured’s statement did not match mine. The lady who hit me, claimed that I was also about to start merging into the lane, and that she hit me as a result of me attempting to get in her lane. A complete lie, and an excuse for GEICO not to do the right thing on their end. I’m guessing either she figured out the perfect lie, or was advised by someone else. Maybe even GEICO. I would not put that past them.

To add insult to injury, they describe the “accident” as me impacting her car. I don’t know what genius it takes to look at pictures that indicate scuff marks made by another vehicle striking me, then come to the conclusion that I hit them. Last time I checked, I drive forwards… not backwards! I was also going straight on my lane. I had no reason whatsoever to get in the turning lane. I was heading to pick up my kids at their school. I have tried reaching out to attorneys, but under the circumstances of not having injuries, witnesses, or a police report, they don’t see the profit. I cannot afford to pay for the damage to my car, nor will I pay for it. If anything GEICO should pay for my deductible and car rental, so I could get my car fixed. It’s simply not justified or fair. This damage should have been covered by GEICO. They need to the right and honorable thing as an insurance company, and pay for the damages that were caused by their insured.

Let me start off by stating that I’ve been with Geico for a few years now. I started off with Geico owning 2 Cars which were pretty standard - an SUV (KIA SORENTO 2011) and a Chevy Cruze LT 2014. I paid $317.80 a month in auto premium. My Chevy had no lien holder and my Sorento was almost paid off. When I had only my Chevy Cruze LT 2014 on the policy it was $198.31 – I got in a car collision making a U-Turn and now my insurance rocketed up to $241.35. I’ve only had one claim with them actually claiming auto damages besides 2 cracked windshields – and that claim is the claim I’m concerned about right now.

It is funny how I filed a claim and before my adjuster even looked at the damages on my car my car insurance went from $198.31 to $241.35. I was billed $241.35 on the 8th right after my accident on the 3rd. When my field adjuster Stevai ** arrived to my apartment where I towed my car, he literally turned on the car for 5 seconds maximum and wrote for damages that he could visually see. Of course, when I had my car towed to Maher Chevrolet, there was supplement after supplement.

I was informed by Sandy at Maher Chevrolet that this particular collision center was visited by Geico employees nearly all the time. Finally 31 Days after my car collision bringing after my Chevy Cruze to a Chevy Dealership as fast as I could after the collision because I thought the Chevy Dealership would be quick and efficient repairing a Chevy Make car (which I was mistaken) – I obtained my car back on my work lunch break yesterday. The engine light turned on after 10 minutes of driving it and I was hearing the same squeaking and feeling the same bumping I felt after the collision. I’m wondering if anything was done internally to fix the car’s issues considering I had a full rewire performed on it probably 6 months prior. I also own this car outright.

I have come to the determination that I do not believe the claim was handled in a proficient manner and I feel I have been dragged along. Unfortunately, my friends have informed me that they’ve had similar experiences with Geico Auto Insurance. For purposes of explaining why this claim was not handled correctly please visit Kelly Bluebook and look up a Chevy Cruze 2014 LT Basic with approx. 70k miles – go ahead and price it with standard equipment and the color is gray – mark it in good condition. You will see that my car is worth approximately $4.7k - $5.8k.

My first estimate was handed to me at $3,858.67 Gross which was far from accurate, the 2nd supplement Geico approved was then increased by $1,241.61, and then the 3rd Supplement Geico approved was for $59.18. When I got the car back, the car was squeaking, bumping, the front bumper was not flush with the hood, one headlight had a gap between itself and the hood, and I had already waited 31 days for these results. I had to turn it right back after work, waste my lunch break, and now I’m waiting again.

I am on my fourth supplement now exceeding the value of $5,159.66 and my rental car is costing Geico $38.50 per day – and so far that’s 31 Days (plus taxes and fees). So, right now Geico is at $6,353.16 to my knowledge as a claim total and that is not even counting the few medical bills for me and the excess rental fees that they’d receive with me being 23 years old. That is over the price of my car… and the internal components that suffered from the collision have yet to be fixed. Why couldn’t we just total the car as I suggested and ultimately knew should’ve been done? Geico has paid more than the worth of my car, will continue to do so until it is fixed (trust in that), and instead of a quick resolution – which would be me putting a down payment towards my new replacement, I receive instead over a month now of being dragged along and I got to drive my half-** repaired car for 30 minutes.

After this auto claim is resolved, I believe I am going to switch my car insurance policy back to Amica - I got into a car wreck once a few years ago when I had them as my insurer. Their claims process was quick, painless, and easy – literally the exact opposite of what I am experiencing now. While it is true that Geico can save you 15% on Auto Insurance – you will almost immediately pay for this in time and headaches the second you call their office to notify of an incident. Trust me… Don’t go with Geico…

Of course I filed a claim being as though that's what having insurance is for. Adjuster looked at the car and sent the info in to Geico. Fast forward almost 3 weeks and multiple voicemails to the person "investigating" the claim. Still nothing. I ended up having to pay out of pocket for the windshield. So very unprofessional that they don't have the courtesy to call back with at least an update on my claim!! Stay away from this company. They're a little cheaper for a reason!! Yes, I had 2 speeding tickets and despite the fact that they have rolled off my record (over 5 years), Im still paying a premium as if they were still there and my rates continue to climb because of my age. Im 59. I went to 2 other companies who said no tickets on my record anymore.

I guess they have to pay for marketing and those commercials. It should be a legal requirement that they adjust your rates when tickets or accidents are over 5 years old. At the very least, check your own record or get a quote from another company. This is how I found out the tickets were no longer a factor. Thanks Geico for bilking me like this. AND, the insurance agent at Geico told me my rates were increasing because of my age. Another company who gave me a quote said my age had no bearing on my rate right now. So glad to have dumped Geico. FYI, try Progressive. I actually got better coverage for half the rate.

Absolutely terrible! My car was stolen and when it was recovered, it had damaged. Geico sent an adjuster out that came to assess the car. Before he left I asked him if it was okay to drive the car because l needed to get to work. He informed me that I can drive the car, so I did. While driving the car I felt that it wasn’t driving the way it usually does so when I got home from work, I just parked it. The next day I needed to go to the hospital to get a pain in my stomach examined, due to the fact that I’m 7 months pregnant. I got my three year old and headed around the corner to pick up my fiancé so he can drive me to the hospital. On the way to the hospital the lower control on the vehicle snaps and causes us to lose control of the car and crash into a light pole. Called Geico and explained what happened.

Everything was okay until I started to vocalize that I feel the accident would have been avoided if I wasn’t told the car was drivable. Before I was told the car was drivable, it was parked. Now after all of this is said and done Geico wants me to come up with two deductibles and I do not think it’s right. The second incident would have never occurred if the first adjuster did not tell me I could drive the car. I have been calling Geico for about a week and a half about the situation and still haven’t gotten a response. When I call anyone I speak to tells me they need to speak to their supervisor and give me a call back. I took it upon myself to call the supervisor and he never was made aware of the situation. Now after speaking to the supervisor, I am still waiting for a response.

Full disclosure: I was a claimant in an accident. I was hit from behind but I lost my claim. That was my fault and I'm okay with the decision. I didn't leave GEICO because I disagreed with the decision. I understand why they went the way they did and, yes it sucks, but I'm fine with it. Nothing you can do about scum (the other party).

I'm reviewing GEICO poorly and left GEICO during my claim investigation process because of how they treated me and handled my claim. I submitted a claim the day of the accident. The intake person was so very nice and warm and professional. The next day, however, I found it odd that I hadn't gotten a callback. At the end of the day, I called in for a status and was told the decision had been made and I was at fault. I was upset that I hadn't received a call. The file owner informed me the decision had been made first thing that morning. I disputed the decision and was then given a chance to record an interview and my case was escalated. Again I waited and didn't receive a call the next day.

I believe I waited a couple of days this time, to respect my file owner's time and show confidence that she would call me back when a decision had been made. When I did finally call again for a status, she informed me that the decision had been made immediately the day after the recorded interview was taken and that I was still at fault. I asked a lot of pertinent questions that she refused to answer and I felt like I was fighting for myself. I obtained the name of the other party's file owner (also with GEICO) and called her up as well and had the same conversation that I had just had with my file owner.

I argued with both file owners and felt like I was the only one fighting for myself. I felt like the other party had two file owners. I asked to speak to a manager and was denied. My husband (a file owner for another insurance carrier) also called in and received the same treatment. It was about this point that we submitted a complaint with the department of insurance for how we were being treated. I called in later in the evening and asked about the complaint process internally. The person I spoke to was VERY kind and apologized and gave me a name and a phone number for the manager over my file owner.

My husband and I both attempted to call her over the next few days and left several voicemails. No calls were answered or returned. I called again in the evening and got someone to write an email requesting that I be called back as soon as possible. I got a call back the next morning from an incredibly rude man who I again argued the liability decision with. After (by my estimates) about 20 minutes of arguing, he finally put me on hold and came back to tell me the decision was word versus word. What it should have been all along. From here, the decision flipped four more times before it finally ultimately landed on me at fault.

The rude man was our point of contact from that phone call forward and he was very good at calling us when something changed, but he treated us so terribly. He talked over us, wouldn't listen, and was overall very rude. He flat out denied either of us talking to his manager. It took me getting very obnoxious and demanding like this: "let me talk to someone else let me talk to someone else let me talk to someone else let me talk to someone else let me talk to someone else let me talk to someone else..." until he finally gave me the name and number of his manager.

HIS manager was very, very kind, listened to everything I had to say, answered all of my questions, and apologized for how I had been treated. But the damage is done. GEICO has left a terrible taste in my mouth. I now pay more for a competitor and am more than happy to do so. I don't even mind that my rates will increase in 6 months. Just as long as I never have to deal with GEICO again.

I get a call from a local Cadillac dealership to tell me my car had been delivered but they weren’t expecting it. And that they weren’t expecting it. I tell the man that my car was not supposed to be delivered there but to a local mechanic. He said, "Well you can sort that out with the tow truck company because we are about to close and we reopen at 8:30 tomorrow morning." I’m immediately panicked because I have work the next day and needed my car worked on the same day. I call the tow truck company and reach the dispatcher. She puts me on hold for 25 minutes. I hang up and call back to which she’s like, "Ma’am I'm trying to reach the driver and he’s not answering the calls."

I call Geico. Explain everything and they try to reach tow agency. She says the lady said the mix up occurred because he admitted to not reading the notes to where the car was to be delivered!! I tell the Geico rep that I needed my car. Like today!! She puts me over to customer service. I explain everything to a new guy. He’s saying how messed up this is. They will put a complaint on the company and so on so forth. He says well what would I like in compensation. I’m like, "Well now I’m going to miss work because of the error on the tow truck company that you all set me up with."

He passes me over to another supervisor. She gets on the phone and is like, "Well we can set you up another tow for free." I’m like, "For free?! I spend 350$ a month on insurance. I PAY for roadside assistance. It’s not free. And I have been a loyal customer for at least 10 years if not more." She says, "Well that’s the best we can do. We will have someone there to pick the car up and deliver it to the location you originally requested." So what can I do but wait.

I call this morning about 11:30 because no one has called. I get a whole new rep who says, "I see where you were approved for a tow but you were suppose to call in and request it." I’m like, "What?!? This has to be a joke." I obviously get really upset. I ask for a supervisor. This lady sets me up with another tow truck company. Tow truck company gets to location. Calls me to say that he couldn’t find my car. I call Geico. They say the other tow truck complaint said that’s where they delivered it.

I call new tow truck company back. He couldn’t find it for almost thirty minutes. Then when he could he couldn’t find the keys. No one knew anything. My car finally makes it to the place it was supposed to be delivered. The mechanic doesn’t get to it today. I more than likely will be missing work again Monday on account of this while my car gets fixed. All Geico could say is “I understand your frustration”. I will be cancelling my policy. No one in customer service was giving great service. I had to explain my situation to everyone and somehow got left with the feeling that no one truly cared. Shame.

Was dissatisfied to learn that a compromise to my personal account, which would require all new "auto" payments to many of my bills be made would result in a first time cancellation of service with Geico. With an email notification coming to me to "allow me one more day to pay" would be the only notification received. In order to reinstate the policy they require the full six (6) months up front (over $600) and only after the 6 months would they allow you to go back to a monthly payment plan. This is to ensure you will not fault on payment again. Understandable, however for an average working American in CA, I sure as heck don't have that kind of "extra" money just laying around to do so.

It is a shame to hear that no other options would be available or way around the full payment due, and for that reason alone, I will be taking my business elsewhere. I caution anyone who happens to ever be in a similar situation - you may want to seek out another provider. Even if the cost is more I'd look at the overall service and willingness to work with customers, after all we are all human and one sour egg doesn't mean we all are.

Was informed she couldn't do that, I would have to call to re-instate on Mon, they would take 2-5 days to make decision! So after 8 yrs with no late pants I have to go without insurance, which puts me out of business 5-7 days!

If it's to check credit that can be done in 5 mins. My score by the way is 730, hardly a dead beat. I have no doubt they will use this as an excuse to greatly increase my premium. While I hope to never need the services of GEICO again, they have me as a customer for life, or as long as they will have me! Long Live the Lizard!

I was involved in an accident 4/9. Geico provided me with amazing service. I wasn't at fault and the other insurance company kept jerking me around. On 04/14, I contacted Geico. They were amazing! Got me a rental car and fixed my vehicle by 04/19. The other insurance company still hasn't contacted me. Geico has earned a loyal customer!

Customer service is not customer friendly. Call is transferred instead of being answered. And then the person says he is in another department and is not knowledgeable with your problem. Must look for another company.

Legal robbery: Geico just doubled my policy, that’s a 100% increase! One accident, what about still paying you when I don’t make a claim? That’s why we have insurance so that when there is an accident insurance companies are there. I see no reasonable explanation for this massive increase as your agent lied when he said I’m a greater risk of having another accident. That’s BS - statistically there’s actually a lower chance of having an accident again. Just like when a plane crashes and kills all on board, statistically it’s the safest time to fly so I just don’t buy it. Will start looking for another fairer insurance company but maybe hard to find in this country.

I have had a speeding ticket on my 2015 car for two year. Geico moved the ticket to my husbands 2017 car, where he has had none so they could raise our insurance? When I question it they said it is legal and they are giving me the best compatible price. We have been with them for over 10 yrs, and they do not care about the person.

Geico mixed up my VIN number with an identical car's, which after about a year of service ended up getting the car impounded this morning. I spoke to two representatives, who could verify that they had indeed made a mistake and they got that fixed. However, they did not want to pay the more than $350 in towing and parking ticket fees that I had to pay to get my card back. Finding a new insurance company that actually cares about customer retention ASAP.

My experience with Geico has been nothing but a fiasco. Claim filed 01/06/19, it is now 04/12/19 with no claim settlement in sight. I filed a complaint with my state insurance commissioner which led nowhere except to have a charming conversation with a claims adjuster manager "Dale" that reiterated his corporation's stance and began strongarm tactics to get me to close my claim out or risk having it cancelled due to "lack of interest".

The vehicle was undervalued and the parts and labor for the few months prior were compensated at less than 10% of the original cost. $3000 of repairs were compensated at a pittance with less than 5k miles and 3 months between the accident and the work being completed for a replacement timing chain, clutch, water pump, and oil pump. These are not cosmetic or minor function parts... These are critical wear items whose replacement allowed my vehicle to be roadworthy for the foreseeable future. Doesn't matter to Geico! They have an "algorithm", dontcha know?!

I never expected to receive 100% of my parts and labor, but I did expect to receive just compensation for a critical transportation loss. We aren't even close! Between the undervaluing of my vehicle and the outright theft of virtually brand new parts, a fair estimate is that I'm in the hole about $2,000. Buyer beware! Their insurance seems great until you get to the nitty gritty of trying to extract your hard earned dollars from your lost transportation investment. Go somewhere... ANYWHERE... else for insurance! You will not regret that decision!

I missed my payment which is my fault. Geico canceled the policy and re-issued the identical policy and charged me $381 more. I have no speeding or moving violations since 1998. When I inquired why that is, I was informed that all customers pay into a pool of money that claims get paid out of. Arizona along with a few other states have a higher frequency of accidents and severity. My policy was canceled 5 days ago and the new one issued today. I needed to drive my vehicle so I purchased the policy but will be shopping around. Very disappointment commercial customer, Business beware!

Please if you ever get into an accident with a Geico driver do yourself a favor and expect phone calls and emails to go unanswered, when you do reach somebody they will always transfer you to a voicemail of somebody on vacation, you will be given to people who have no idea what they are doing and in most cases not the person who can help in the first place. It is the WORST possible company to deal with and you should run not walk to your lawyer's office if you need to get something done with Geico.

For May 2019 our family bill for auto insurance jumped a 38% increase. None of us had tickets or claims; we had the same cars, same addresses. Geico's explanation was that they were using a different method to calculate rates and the cost of doing business due to cars come with technologies. They treat us like we are stupid. My wife almost pay the bill with automatic payment like many of customers may overlook the bill, especially seniors. They will lose lot of customers and get class action lawsuits.

I got my first car and got insurance through Geico and was told that I could have it somewhat like Pre-pay because personally I don't like using or having anything I do not own first. A month later I cancel my auto-pay that I did not enroll in and also because I was not using the car anymore. I then got billed for the next month even though I was told I would not be billed unless I pay first. I then had to call in and request a cancellation but still owed 127$ for insurance I wasn't using nor did I even know I was still covered.

Now they are attacking my credit score until I pay for something I didn't even use nor know I had. The only way to remove it is to pay the money or have proof I sold the car. I stopped driving it because it fell apart "500$" car by the way. They are not clear on what they claim and you will be told different things by different representatives. I will not be ever using them again. I feel scammed and cheat to some extent. They also changed my billing right around the time I tried to cancel it from 147$ a month to 288$ without my permission. I will say Geico is more snakes than geckos.

A driver with Geico insurance hit my car, they were found 100% at fault in the accident. Geico did not provide me with correct information initially and could not schedule the rental car at the time of my drop off but instead puts the onus on me to call them back. Based on the two phone calls I have had so far, I wouldn't use Geico for my insurance agency based on their lack of clarity with communication.

After looking around I managed to find somewhere that would give me the same coverage for $70 less per month. When I called Geico to cancel my policy after signing up with the other company, the representative on the phone was condescending and acted like I was an idiot, said something about how "insurance is very competitive" and there was no way I had the same coverage (I actually had slightly better coverage). They were very nice over the phone when I got into an accident but every insurance company is that way on their claim line.
