WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND GEICO! Geico service is horrible! I've hit deer at night on my 6 months old 7000 miles car. Geico refused to pay for OEM replacement parts and offered reconditioned and used parts instead. The difference for all parts was $186... After several calls they stated this is in my police that they can do this. Nobody told me this when I have signed for Geico. I did call two other insurance companies and both told me that for current year car with less than 12000 mile they will put OEM parts with no additional charge. Obviously, I will cancel all my policies (auto, boat, umbrella, business) with Geico. Absolutely the worst insurance company I have ever dealt with. Read every letter in the policy if you brave enough to sign for geico insurance. You will save small $$ in premium but loose multiple time more if you will need to file a claim. Do yourself a favor and don't get geico.

Had a incident on 6 September 2019 that required a simple tow. Called and was told I didn't have roadside service on that particular vehicle which I have ALWAYS carried roadside service on ALL my vehicles so I paid out of pocket. After calling the office first thing Monday morning I was told I was correct and that the roadside side should have been on that particular vehicle as well. I was told to send a copy of the tow bill and I did immediately and called to confirm that it was received. They assured me they had received it and a check would be mailed that day which was the 12th. It's the 30th and still no check. Called to see why and was then told it was mailed on the 24th. Not holding my breath on that one. I pay every six months so I'm waiting patiently for this policy to expire to switch. The old saying "you get what you pay for" Would gladly pay more for better service.

I would rate them zero if I can. If you currently have Auto insurance with GEICO, my suggestion would be to FIND ANOTHER INSURANCE COMPANY! Based on my recent experiences these people Do Not value customers, have NO Customer Service and will flat out Lie to You with no concern whatsoever. They are in it for profit. They will not take care of their customers and will leave you out to dry.

I was sideswiped by a silver pickup truck. I pulled over and the truck driver looked like he was doing the same...then...he took off! I managed to get his tag number and saw a deputy sheriff. My 3 year old granddaughter was in the backseat and very upset. The highway patrol had jurisdiction so the deputy called it in. He waited with us while three NC State Troopers looked for the guy. They failed to find him but had his address and phone number. They made a report. The driver of the truck was charged with leaving the scene of an accident. Geico has denied my claim because “our investigation indicates that there isn’t sufficient evidence to prove our insured caused the damages to your vehicle”. He is charged by the police but Geico refuses to fix my car! Ridiculous! If the gecko finds out about this, I’m sure he will quit!

The only place GEICO invest is in their stupid commercials that is not even funny commercials to drag naive people to buy their insurance. Believe me when I tell you that this insurance company is the most useless insurance company you will insure your car with. They never return phone calls after you file a claim and you have to call several times to get any response. The attitude alone they give you will tell you that they only want to collect payment but when it’s time to meet their end of the deal, well they will give you the runaround. Don’t believe me, check out reviews online about this sorry excuse for an insurance company. Oh yes they are cheap but pray you never have a claim to file then they show you their true color. I’m now shopping for a better insurance company that meet their promise. Then I’m going to sue this disgusting company with fake promises call geico.

At no fault of my own, my car was hit in a parking lot when I was in a store. Upon filing a claim with Geico and being assured I could go to "any body shop I wanted", I was notified that my preferred body shop - one that was certified for my car manufacturer and used quality new parts - cost more than the allowable rates for the area. While other body shops - that state they use refurbished aftermarket parts - allow $46 per hour in labor, my body shop that is certified and uses new parts charge $50/hour. Geico would only pay the claim at the $46/hour rate. While they argued this was "fair and reasonable for the market" - my body shop provided over 40 pages of claims paid by other insurance companies at the $50/ hour rate.
I was left to pay the difference in rates between what Geico would allow and what my body shop would charge. Definitely not in the spirit of coverage of "you can pick any body shop you'd like" for the repairs. In addition, Geico arbitrarily cut off my rental car benefits with no notice, leaving me to have to pay for the additional days while the car was being serviced. I chose Geico because of their cheaper rates, but as things usually go - you get what you pay for. Lower-quality body shop coverage, deceptive marketing practices and poor customer service.

I just bought a 2019 truck from Toyota with 0 miles. I had it for 3 months and my neighbor crashed my parked truck. Geico was excellent taking care of me until they gave me the details of the parts they replaced. They replaced 90% of my truck with non OEM auto parts. Are you kidding me? It's a brand new truck and the body shop they provided me with are using after market parts to repair the truck. Not only did they screw me over with my truck having after market parts but they screwed me over with the warranty with Toyota! I tried calling the adjuster 4 times and left 3 voicemails but have not heard back from him. I don't recommend this insurance company to anyone. They are a good company to charge but all they do is look out for themselves not to spend money to make things right. At least put used good quality OEM parts. Now my 36k truck is worthless.

Don't get too comfortable like me. I've been a customer for well over a decade with a stellar driving record and liability only insurance. I just cancelled my Geico policy because 2 minutes online with the Hartford AARP coverage I saved $400 a year. I sent Geico an email and in three minutes they replied saying they found a new rating program that would save me $360. Really? I was not amused and I don't think you would be either. Don't be complacent. Get some quotes. I don't get taken advantage of.

GEICO has pathetic Emergency Road Side Assistance. This is my 2nd poor experience with this company. Requested for service around 10am, got estimated time of 11.12, then the towing company which they contracted instead of coming before time, messages a new estimated time of 12...So I am stuck for 2 hours for a service. Seems like this contracted company will not send another driver if the original driver was running late to take care of me, but will delay me. This is not what we expect when we are paying for the service. Even in my previous experience, Geico failed in its service quality when my phone call to them was answered after almost 1 hr, and the dispatch person took another 1 hr or so. I would advise against this company which takes our service but fails to provide service or even take action so that these delays and inconvenience doesn't recur.

I would give 0 star if it is possible. This company is a joke. I have 2 cars (same model year diff color)) insured with them and parked in a public storage. I have been a customer for over 10 years. One of my car was vandalized when someone damage enamel over the paint. It was not a big issue, but I have $50 deductible so I figure I just want it painted. Geico kept saying it was due to weather so not covered, then they sent someone to my house, pop up when I about to go to work, even though I told that investigator I will talk to him when I get a chance the same week.
My security camera capture the Geico employee taking photo of my house. Before he blocked in front of my door, he knocked on my neighbors’ doors asking where I was. Then he started to question my marital status, my parking tickets (all dismissed in my favor), even though none is related to the claim. When I show them before after of the car, they claim unless I have the photo of the car the day before the claim is filed, it will be of no use. Everything about Geico Chicago is excessive, irrelevant, and disturbing. You can tell the people they hire are candidates for the syndicate.
They are not county sheriff, and I committed no crime, who are these people invading my privacy for a stupid matter. When I complained to the so-called corporate VP, she said it was all normal, but she refused to provide a written statement. She wanted me to withdraw the claim. When I refused, she denied it again. Geico is no longer an insurance company, at least the one in Chicago operated out of control.

My 90k BMW was dented overnight in my apartment complex. GEICO does not refuses to fix both front and rear bumper because “they were two separate incidents”. How do they know? There is no recording or no witnesses. The adjuster said they’ll cover both bumpers, then when I went and picked up my car turns out they only fixed the rear claiming “car does not have a dent, it’s the paint peeling off”. Then I proved them it was a dent after speaking with several adjusters, so then they say it wasn’t the same incident.
So: 1- no camera or witness. 2- Justin the adjuster said they’ll cover it but didn’t. 3- spoke to 7 different agents and supervisors. 4- claim it wasn’t dented at first. 5- Admired it was but refused to cover because their crystal ball showed them it was two separate incidents. 6- Charles **, supervisor, LAUGHED AT MY FRUSTRATION AND SAID I WAS OUT OF LUCK. 7- Math facts: $340 per month for full cover x 12 months = $4,080. Been a loyal policy holder for over 8 years = $32,640. Conclusion: Geico is a total scam and their customer service is horrendous. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY AND TIME WITH SUCH CROOKED COMPANY. You're welcome.

Geico was great till I had a small accident. They raised my premium and I would have been better off paying from my pocket. The amount of increase was the same as the amount they paid for repairs. I guess insurance is useful for bigger accidents and problems.

I have been with Geico for 3 years and have never had any issues. I have never had long wait times and their monthly cost as well as coverage seems pretty good. I have 2 vehicles, both with a $250 deductible and pay $110 a month. They do have small monthly payment increases every 6 months, but once you hit year 3, they give you a discount on your monthly cost which is nice. They always have gotten back to me timely on all claims and contacted the bank where I had my load to send a check when my vehicle was totaled. They don't provide renter's insurance, but will set you up with Liberty Mutual in which both of your policies can be managed with a Geico representative for great convenience.

We switched our auto insurance from State Farm to Geico several years ago, but left our home owner. In April of 2019 we bought our daughter a 2015 Toyota, and decided to switch our home owners insured when we insured her vehicle. Maybe a week after the purchase we had a terrible hail storm. My husband caught a lot of grief from the Geico team about proof of purchase etc. We purchased the car outright and had yet to receive the title from the state. This is the proof they requested. We didn’t turn in our home since we had just switched. A couple months later we had another very bad hail storm. We turned in our roof, after we had a local, well known roofing company inspect it. He said there was definitely damage, and recommend we turn in a claim.
The contract inspector Geico sent out was rude, said our shingles were defective and it would be up to the shingle manufacturer to do something. He would not write up our roof. He did however give us money on our deck and windows, which we didn’t turn in. They’ve been damaged for years, nothing to do with the storm, and we were in the process of removing our deck for replacement anyway. He turned in a claim for approximately 2 grand which was denied as our deductible is 7 grand. We live in a small town. Everyone knows everyone else. The roofer didn’t lie. He can’t afford to be shady in such a small community.
We have contacted Geico and explained the situation, requested a new inspection. Houses all around us have gotten new roofs, the hail season this year was very bad. We’ve lived here since 2011, and never had a claim on our vehicles or our home. They have ways of knowing that. I regret the switch, and will work on going back. Before we moved to our current town we had Progressive. Had a brand new truck for two days and a bad hail storm. We got no guff from them. Had two vehicles fixed and our roof. I think that was around 2007, so 12 years since we’ve had vehicle or home claims. Wish we’d never gone with Geico!

Geico does not work with customers on easily reinstating policies when they have lapsed for non payment. My boyfriend is a veteran, a senior citizen, and was the victim of an unlawful business practice on a used car that cost him thousands resulting in an inability to pay the insurance on the lemon he purchased. Rather than reinstate, Geico is requiring 6 months upfront for one missed payment. This practice is in-law and does not reflect the fiduciary duty imposed upon an insurance company as defined by Ca law and 9th Circuit Court of Appeals precedent.

I was recently (today), rear-ended by another vehicle on my way to work, and filed a claim with Geico, which has resulted in several Emails sent to me, many of which have links provided in them, but I cannot use these links because they claim to be sending me a text message security code, that never comes. I thought this may have been a solitary issue, but every Geico link requires a security code to be entered, and there is no other option but to have them send it to you by text, which they do not seem to be capable of doing for some reason.
I have had Geico as my insurance now for a few years, and have never been disappointed with them until today. I find it confusing, and frustrating that they cannot even manage to send a simple text message, that they are REQUIRING for access to your claim information. I suppose I will have to wait until tomorrow, and call them, but it would be more reassuring to think that my insurance company knows how to work a text message, or at least could provide other options for security checks, beside a phone number that they obviously do not know how to use properly. I am upset, and perturbed by this, and may even start shopping around for a different insurance provider as a result. They said it falls under mechanical and the supervisor said it falls under “negligence” and that's not something I have with my policy. Background of situation: I received an oil change that seemed to mess up everything in my car.
I stated to them this is my first lease vehicle and I already have full coverage. I didn't know I had to add an additional coverage for mechanical. Nicholaus stated that's something that was asked when I first added vehicle. And there's nothing he can do and it's up to me with what I want to do with the car. I am reviewing a contractor of this company. I have Geico auto and renters insurance and have had no difficulties. However, I have tried today to cancel my father's renters insurance. He has passed away. The bill shows the phone number for Geico. When I called I was told I have reached the wrong department. I was placed on hold, reached another department. I was told that the policy is through Assurant, a contractor. I was placed on hold again. 30 min later I reached them. The person I spoke with told me she is unable to cancel the policy, I have to do this online. How? This is not my policy. She was not able to provide more information as to why she was unable to cancel the policy. I asked to speak to her supervisor. After 15 min on hold I gave up. I reached another representative (in the sales department, much higher rate of literacy in this department!), who told me a written attestation was required and would be initiated via email sent to me.
Currently I am on hold with yet another representative who is attempting to figure out how to do this. It has been yet another 15 min, but at least she expressed her condolences and sounded more empathetic, so I am more willing to wait. It has been an hour. This is not something I would want anyone to go through after the death of a loved one. Not impressed Geico. Poor automated system, staff are not knowledgeable, contractor company has excessive wait times, rude and unknowledgeable staff. Terrible. Update: Currently their "system is down" (this is Assurant). Who knows what the final time for this task will be. I will be changing my own policies based on this experience. Allstate was more expensive, but had superior customer service. For me, it's worth the price.

Our entire family have been Geico customers so we were shocked as to the handling of a billing glitch. My daughter had a spotless record with Geico for many years, no claims and paid her bills on time using autopay with paperless billing. Her credit card expired and a payment was denied. She just gave birth, was in between jobs and in the process of moving to another state. The one email was overlooked in the turmoil, in fact it could have even found its way in the spam folder. Then came an email stating that her insurance ended, did she want to reinstate it. She quickly called up Geico to clear up this issue, pay the unpaid bill and provide the updated credit card expiration date. The representative said ok but her insurance would go from $165 to $241! She said to reduce the increase by a small amount, she would have to take a defensive driving course!!
Now what does this have to do with updating a credit card expiration date in autopay! My daughter said this is no way to treat a long time customer and said she would switch Insurance companies to which the representative said, “Good luck finding another company willing to insure someone with your history”. History!!!! Is she mad! Being late with one payment after years of on time payments because of a common event of a credit card expiring is called History? Needless to say, my entire family will be switching from Geico (someone mentioned auto insurance through Costco is the better route). Not a way to treat a loyal customer!

Geico misinformed me on a claim and then turned around and wanted me to pay double. It took days/weeks for me to talk to management. When I finally did he stated there was nothing he could do. I asked him to listen to the phone recording and he stated well not all of them are recorded (of course not). When talking to a claims representative, she told me I should have lied. So since I was a truthful citizen, and Geico staff is not properly trained, I was penalized. Any company who tells me that I should have lied, is not a company I want to be associated with. My husband is in the military and we have been with Geico for almost 3 years. That is not a way to treat your customers. I would not recommend Geico to anyone. In fact, everyone in my family has switched to USAA.

Gabe's Collision in San Antonio, Texas is partnered with Geico and was recommended by them for auto body repair. After researching, it also appeared they work on higher end vehicles. I was hit by a Geico insured driver and ended up taking my Corvette for service here. Although the repair to the body was well done, I picked up my Corvette with a 14 inch crack in my windshield. There was no damage prior to dropping off the car. This is confirmed in a thorough vehicle assessment and pictures taken by the Geico adjuster upon drop off. Even with the detailed document, pictures, and request from Geico to replace the windshield, Gabe's Collision refused to take responsibility.
As you can imagine this is an absolute appalling and disappointing response from a company that is partnered with Geico. I would have to recommend against taking your vehicle to avoid a circumstance similar to this. My out of pocket expense for windshield will be around $700-$1000 for my Corvette. Geico refuses to take any responsibility as well. They recommend and stand by this company, but refuse any liability when something such as this occurs.

Geico is the WORST car insurance company. BEWARE! On several occasions I have requested roadside assistance when I did have that on my policy and they DECLINED to send it, saying I wasn't "signed up long enough" to receive it (after 2-3 days on 1 occasion). On the most recent occasion, I was given the biggest run-around on a simple tow request. What they did was send the least reputable tow company imaginable who then proceeded to extort a vastly expanded amount of extra money from me ON THE SPOT at the destination for the tow! The tow company claimed the mileage was higher, they charged $6/mi for every mile above 6 miles, and the agreement Geico had with ALL tow companies they use is first 20 miles FREE to customer, and Geico pays for that.
NOT ONLY did Geico never refund the money back to me over a month ago as they stated they would do, but I had to call back REPEATEDLY. The LAST time I called back (today), I was told they were "waiting on me to send them a copy of the tow receipt"!!! YES, they punked me, just like the Backwoods tow truck service! DO NOT TRUST GEICO! If you do, you're just another sucker and you'll find that out soon enough. Geico is a predatory insurance company. RUN, don't walk away from them! I am 42 years old, and have used Geico auto insurance for most of my adult life. I was never in a single accident until about 2 years ago. I was hit head-on by a distracted driver. I was injured in the accident. The airbag deploying tore the labrum in my right shoulder. Surgery was required to repair it. Followed by physical therapy. It’s still nowhere near what it used to be. The accident was ruled his fault and I received decent settlement from his insurance company (Liberty Mutual).
Geico denied my no fault claim. They had their in house doctor take a quick look at my file, and determine that I should have tried physical therapy first. That is ridiculous. You can’t mend a tear with physical therapy. All I ever did was follow the advice of my orthopedic surgeon. I spoke with a Rep from Geico named Jennifer **, who repeatedly assured me my treatment would be covered. It wasn’t. Now I have a lien for over $10k from the surgery. I figure I have paid Geico somewhere in the neighborhood of $30k in my lifetime for coverage. The one, and only time I have asked them to do what I pay them for, they didn’t. I have switched companies, and I advise everyone to stay away from these crooks!

Makes you feel comfortable enough to want to call and let them know if anything happen to your vehicle but when it comes to making a claim and working with the staff members like for example the adjustors they are out to find any and everything nonexistent things that they can find to call clues or "evidence" to not pay on your claim. It's like you pay all this money for nothing in hopes that if something was to go wrong with your car you know your insurance company will at least have your back and that you won't have anything to worry about. But because I went down into a pothole on I-787 and didn't call the police 'cause it wasn't an actual accident and also wasn't able to stand in the middle of I-787 to take a picture of the pothole and because my mom was in the hospital I'm trying to fraud. No dummy.
It actually did happen but because I was worried about my mother the only one I got and didn't feel the need to tell him that that's the reason why I didn't call immediately to let the owner of the car and GEICO know. The adjustor tells me I'm lying and trying to fraud his company so gonna be saying goodbye to Geico real soon and they can shove it. If you make a claim and get the number ** good luck. I just had to deal with GEIKO to get reimbursement for my expenses (Uber) while my car was in the shop. First, they did not let me have a rental because they just could not get all the papers in order, while my car was already in the shop. So I did not get a rental, and was using Uber or asking friends to give me rides. Once the papers were finally ready - they told me that since it was too late to get a rental now, they will just reimburse me for each day of me not having a car, at a $25/day rate. Weeks go by - no reimbursement, I make multiple calls (hours wasted) - and hear the same story, they need more evidence that I had to use alternate transportation for 7 days, since the document with the repair estimates lists 11 hours as the estimate.
Of course, never mind that the car was actually in the shop for 7 days.... Everybody knows that the car shops are not going to jump on your car repair right away. You bring them a car, and based on their load it may take days before they actually start working on it ... Anyway, I got so tired of calling and arguing - I said, “Forget it, keep whatever money you've got out of me.” Would definitely NOT recommend this crappy company to anybody.

I am thoroughly disappointed in how Geico claims to guarantee excellent customer service, yet that is the furthest I have received. I have called other companies to search for new insurance and I have received better service and communication. I have been fighting back and forth to get a claim resolved since February. My first agent, Samantha, was impossible to reach and my second, Shanicka, is better but I still have left voicemails that have not been returned in a timely manner.
I first get told by the cop she is ruling it 50/50 meaning we both pay our own damages because I was in the lines of my parking spot that the other party was pulling into but didn't realize I had a hitch and she hit me from behind.. I reversed and in my mirrors not my back up cam was she there when I started backing up or as I came to a stop to pull out of my parking space. Then the company rules 50/50 meaning we EACH pay 50 of the other parties damage. Mind you I was informed this by my GEICO agent. Then the other party tried to fight for me owing a 100% and thankfully my agent declined that on basis both of us failed to have a proper lookout. I have been told it was 50/50 from the start and was told the 100% was declined in March or April. My agent advised me to send in my damages bill to her so she could forward over to the other party.
I did so in April and again in May when I was assigned a new agent without knowing or being informed until she contacted me about the damages in June. I was then told, "Oh yes you need your money so let's get this taken care of. Call me in 2 days if you haven't heard from me." I call her back and she states, "Well we accepted fifty on your behalf, but the other party did not accept 50." I said, "Well since she hit me from the behind while I was in my parking spot lines then why was I not offered to decline 50%."
I was so frustrated as I was already told 50/50 on every occasion previously and never communicated it was declined as I was waiting months for my check. Then my agent agreed this was not right and got supervisors involved, but said they may not be able to listen to calls as they were months back so would be making a decision blindly possibly. I said they either need to accept 50/50 or decline my fifty because I was not getting screwed. Fortunately, they ruled 50/50 and we went along with the process and I was told my check would come in two weeks. When it of course did not I called to check in and they said they did not see a check issued and that they would have to other adjustor's supervisor call me or mine. Neither called, yet again the theme of lack of communication and being lied to.
I called my adjustor twice and left voicemails as well as had customer service line email. She did return my call a couple days later to let me know the other party declined to pay me and i cannot decline to pay her because an arbitrator decided and it's final. I asked how did they decided without talking to me or even having the pics of me in my spot with the other called diagonal clearly pulling in or with me in lines parked? Shanicka said, "I am unsure but this is all wrong and not fair. I am so sorry."
I said, "Well this is not 50/50. Can a supervisor call me" and she said, "I can request that but she will more than likely not call you because she cannot change the decision." I said, "Irregardless I want to be walked through how this happened and how it was supervisor decided 50/50 agreement, yet that didn’t happen." She said again, "I can try, but she probably won’t call you back. I am so sorry." I don’t understand how this happened. It is unjust and not fair.
We both have GEICO, but it seems they are being an advocate and protecting the other party better which is why I will be ending my policy with them. Don't pay to not be heard, advocated and protected in the time of accidents and most certainly not to be not communicated with or talked through things with a supervisor to explain how my situation panned out not 50/50 or equally.

I switched back to Nationwide when I learned how expensive my homeowner’s insurance was going to be with Nationwide if Nationwide didn’t also have my auto insurance policy. My auto insurance has been back with Nationwide for at least four and a half years. Today I went to the license plate agency to renew my license plate on one of my cars (I didn’t even own this car when I was with GEICO). DMV received notice from GEICO that they had terminated my auto insurance effective May 20, 2019. WHAT??? I was being assessed a $50 fine and am unable to renew my tag until I get a certain form sent to the license plate agency.
I called my insurance agent with Nationwide, but, alas, after two fax attempts and about an hour, the forms never arrived. I called again, and my agent emailed me the form, but I was unable to print the form there because they had no AirPrint printers. There also seemed to be no way to fax the form from my phone. I went home and printed out the form. Now I have to make a separate trip and stand in line all over again to renew my license plate. GEICO has cost me a lot of time and hassle over nothing. The lady at the license plate agency said that something similar had happened to her with GEICO.

Because I am a minor they need permission from my father to speak to me, they get that right away, as we were willing to cooperate. I call back on multiple occasions to see what the hold up is and why they have yet to take my recorded statement. I'm told that the recording machine of the person handling this claim is broken, that it should be fixed within a week and I will be given a call back.
Three weeks go by from that phone call and I finally hear back from the representative that she can now take my recorded statement almost 2 months after the accident happened, nonetheless I try to recall all the details and give her, to the best of my knowledge, the story. After the recording is finished I simply ask why they waited almost 2 months to ask me for the story and I get gross attitude from someone who should be talking to me professionally. She tells me, and I quote, "First we needed your father's permission because you are a minor and like I told you my recorder was broken, I shouldn't even have to be explaining this to you, but I will." What kind of professionalism is this?
It's unbelievable to me that a company that's so well known has such rude, disrespectful employees. I simply asked her a logical question the attitude was completely uncalled for and unnecessary. I highly suggest that Geico checks on their employees because the way she spoke to me, someone trying to cooperate, where I have absolutely no legal obligation to do so, is completely inappropriate. I’ve been a Geico customer for 20 yrs. I’ve never had to reach out to them for anything in the past, but the one time I have had to, it’s been such a HORRIBLE experience. My adjuster never returns my calls and Geico has not provided the level of service they claim to provide in this case. I requested them to review my claim and the facts of the incident multiple times, and yet they have made such an unfair judgement. I think it’s because both parties in the claim are Geico customers! My car was hit from behind while taking a legitimate left turn. The other party was turning right, did not yield and hit my car from behind.
She changed her statement on multiple occasions (first stating she had the red light, then the green light and then stating the scene of the incident was much farther away from the lights!!). I submitted photos of the damage, pictures of the intersection and traffic light coordination. It was very evident from the pictures that the other party did not yield on a stoplight. Despite recreating the scene for them, the Geico adjusters (not stating names here) did not review this carefully. Instead they said that “no party was at fault”!!!! They’ve made this such a horrible experience and so stressful for me to deal with. I will now have to reconsider my insurance choice, especially if this is the service they provide when you need them the most!!!

After using Geico for a year I am NOT happy. You will get a lower payment, but at a cost. A minor fender bender (no cops, no damage to my vehicle, minor damage to other vehicle) increased my premium by $120+ dollars. Now I pay more than with my previous insurance. Recently, my car was totaled and now I'm being told I can't use my 30-day rental. I have to buy a new car in 5 days and return the rental. My policy doesn't state that, but the adjuster says it's an “amendment”. So, I've been paying for 30-day rental service I now can't use to be able to get a new car. You will get what you pay for. You'll get your lower payment to start but as soon as you need to use your policy, your premiums will skyrocket and they will cut corners anywhere they can. I will most likely go back to my previous insurance. A higher premium is worth peace of mind in this case. Again, you get what you pay for.

First time called and filed claim for the glass of windshield damage. on June 13. The vendor of GEICO asked for inspection on June 15 and I provided them details and pictures. On June 23 they said they want pictures again. Then on July first week, they approved claim. A simple glass claim which was very small, they took like a month to complete it. They gave all kind of catch. The glass crack started expanding and the car was not safe to use anymore.
I call customer care to tell them that their vendor are delaying and that is not fair. I need to get the glass fixed and need to take the car as I was traveling to Portland for a week. The person did not even listen what I said and told I have to get the inspection done. I told him I am not bypassing the inspection, but just make it fast as I need car in right condition for travel. He did not respond and kept repeating I have to get the inspection done. I asked for for higher authority to escalate the issue and the customer service rep said on the recorded line "He is the highest level of authority for this escalation and there is nothing I can do." I thought I was talking to CEO Of the company.
As a result, I had to rent a car from SIXT for 9 days and paid $457 since I could not use my car and GEICO delayed claim. I paid hefty ~200 every month since last 2 year and for first time I wanted claim of glass costing ~450$ from Geico passed (EVEN THOUGH I AM PAYING 500$ deductible for the same claim which is more than the cost of the whole glass), GEICO did not come through and did not do what it is supposed to do.
Worst customer service and poor customer retention. They do not value the customer at all. They thinks customer are fool and even their call center agent has more authority than the customer who actually pays Geico. Insanely frustrating and a fraud ins company. Please do not buy Geico. Well it's pretty difficult to raise the money, schedule and evaluate roofing company estimates and get it all completed in 16 days. Long story short I was dropped. This is after being a customer for so many years with 2 other policies. Well they lost the other two policies as well. If they told me, "Wait before canceling your old insurance until everything cleared underwriting" they may have saved themselves from losing all the policies. Anyways I found a similar company and I saved $600 compared to Geico.

Found less expensive offer (95$ instead of 245$), did call to Geico client support with question “What is the process of policy termination and should I pay penalty for that”. Answer was: “Provide us with new policy information and no penalty at all”. It was two different representatives confirmed that. After some time I’ve got mail and call from collections agency for non-payment 100$+ Geico penalty. I can imagine what is like doing business with Geico - fancy looking and non-professional? Can’t wait till my Geico renters insurance policy will expire and I could switch to reliable insurance company. Though APP is very comfortable to use.

Changing to Geico was the best decision I made when I purchased a new vehicle. My new policy was less money with complete coverage and the process was so simple. They are really good about emailing with any updates and I feel confident in my coverage even though I have never had to use it.

Criminal company. Don’t ever insure your car with these pack of thieves. I’m filing a lawsuit this week for refusal to pay for my car. They are happy to take your money and make you feel like you are getting a good deal. Just pray that you never get involved in accident then you will know their true color. Can’t wait to see them in court. Bunch of crooked box of snakes. I have warned everyone I know about these criminals. DON’T INSURE WITH GEICO.

I purchased a used car from a dealer. On the next day I notice a crack in the bumper and of course I think somebody hit me. I called Geico to file a claim. Two weeks later a Geico investigator (Michelle) calls me to go over with me what I think happened. Where I was that day that it happened and so on. Then she says "well I have proof that the car was like this when you bought it." IT WAS! She says, "Would you like to see proof?" OF COURSE! She emails me a pic of the car from the lot where I purchased it with the same crack on the bumper. Obviously my husband and I wasn't aware, neither was the dealer. So now I'm just so upset that we missed the damage when we bought the car and of course cancel my claim.
Personally I feel the investigator should of called me and said right at the beginning of the call that she has proof of the damage when I bought the car instead of trying to make me look like I'm trying to get over and she just caught me in something. Like that's how you treat your customers!! I thought you're suppose to be in my corner not against me. Now get this, 3 wks later I try to get into the app on my phone and it says to call them. So I call them and they said they're dropping me by July 22nd because of a fraudulent claim. I am just so insulted you have no idea. This is how they treat me, unbelievable! I have to think I'm better off to go because Geico isn't about their customers. You just lost an excellent customer, and excellent driver.

A long time ago I couldn't afford paying six months at a time. When I did achieve the ability to pay every 6 months, for six months, I did; and I did so for years. Every five months I started getting cancellation notices and extra charges. This happened every five months for years and no one would tell me that I was "Officially" on a monthly plan, even though I paid for six months every six months for years. Finally when I reported them to the BBB they said, "all I had to do was officially change my monthly plan to a six month plan and all of this would go away".
Years and years of cancellation notices and fines and no one told me. They just kept badgering me with no explanation, just extra charges and fines'. I'd have 30 days left before my six month policy was due and here they come. Big red lettered "CANCELLATION NOTICE"....Customer neglect, or abuse, whichever you choose to use. They knew what I was doing, I just wasn't doing it "Officially", and they took complete advantage of it....I do not believe them anymore and I'll never trust them again.

Tony ** from Geico says “my car seats are perfectly fine and not damaged” after an accident. Also says “don’t waste your time submitting a claim.” Was he in my car when I got into an accident or did he inspect my car himself after the accident? This is his response to my statement of I don’t feel perfectly safe with car seats involved in an accident. He also refused to transfer me to his supervisor when I asked. I am definitely not taking GEICO as my insurance knowing a guy like Tony is making statements like that.

They don’t seem to care if they keep you as a customer when you are hit in the rear end, and the other person ALSO has Geico. Do they decide judged on how long you’ve had an account and whose loyalty they want to keep? My family has used Geico for close to a decade, but now that I’ve had my first accident where someone hit my back end, I’m shopping for my own new insurance and never, EVER using this company. I didn’t like them when I was on a solo account there. I had switched to General back then. I’ve been under my family’s account the past few years due to a decent bundled family price. I’ll let my family decide what to do, but will be getting my own insurance via another company to hopefully drop their premium back down. Horrible. Just horrible.

People are always so quick to write negative reviews so I figured I would come here, write a positive one. GEICO is the best company that we have ever done business with and we switch to them after we were royally screwed over by Esurance. Take my word for it, DO NOT use them as they will not pay out any insurance claims! GEICO has been so great to work with us when we needed to extend the payment, and all of their representatives that we have had the pleasure of doing business with over the phone have been nothing but wonderful and pleasant! GEICO has immediately paid out all tow fee reimbursements when we filed them! Thanks!

We pay $5 extra per month for free windshield replacement on our vehicles. I recently had a rear windshield busted out while in my driveway one night. GEICO refused to pay because the back "windshield", as the representative referred to it, does not qualify as a windshield. Even has a windshield wiper on it but yet it still doesn't qualify as a windshield. I think it's a shame that they find loopholes to keep from providing coverage to their customers.

Been with GEICO 15 to 20 years, can't even recall not having them. Generally, good service and helpful in keeping my rates low,\; lowest ever last year, both of us retired, very low mileage and I diligently take my Defensive Driver course as needed. Just received my July-January renewal and it has increased by 22%! I usually project an ever-so-slight reduction due to depreciation of the vehicles and was totally blindsided by this news. WORSE, after a 20 minute line by line review of my last three policies I found the one & only difference, I (and my Def Driver discount) have been switched from "Veh 2" the one I drive to "Veh 1", the one my wife drives.
STILL WORSE: Assuming I had found the glitch (feeling very proud of myself) I called to explain to the GEICO agent what I'd discovered and assumed all would be well in a minute or two. But, no. She explained in a "prepared speech manner" that GEICO has "moved away from a manual assignment of drivers to their vehicle in lieu of an Intentional Automatic SYSTEM-assignment of "highest risk driver to highest risk vehicle." (Unsure of what determines a 'higher risk vehicle'). However, my agent was very clear that this CHANGE OF ASSIGNMENTS was not a manual oversight or mistake, it was system generated and CANNOT be reassigned/changed manually and, it was indeed the basis for my 22% increase.
When I suggested my wife and I each simply insure our own vehicles she instantly, without a moment's reflection told me that would be more expensive. I asked how she could know and she told me she had done this comparison lots of times. Knowing it would be futile, I asked her to give me the two quotes, both of which were even higher than the renewal I was facing... she was right. Next comments will be to the Insurance Commissioner and then ClassAction.org.

I've had Geico for 2 years. My teenage daughter just got her license and we purchased a car for her. As expected the rates jumped but by $400 a month for a 7 year old $7.000 car? Seriously? So In order to afford the monthly increase I sold my Jeep to get something cheaper. My insurance only went down $50 so basically paying $525 a month for one 7 year old beetle & 2 drivers... WHAAATT??? Then when I got a quote for a 9 year old Prius I was considering buying the price for 2 cars was $495! My head almost exploded... I then went to Progressive which was cheaper for the one car but then more when I add in an additional car... The whole thing is so incredibly frustrating it makes me want to Uber everywhere and just spend $500 not driving!

Secondly, they refuse to allow the full replacement cost of new parts - they allow a reduced amount for body parts.
Thirdly, they refuse to allow "loss of value" for your car - once damaged the repair is on your VIN forever and reduces your re-sale value. Fourthly, they refuse to allow for your "loss of earnings" while they are cheating you on the damage repair. Fifthly, they refuse to allow (pay for) a substitute rental or Uber or cabs fees you paid while your car was repaired. GEICO Adjusters present a clear and present consumer fraud a criminal enterprise and should be prevented from selling insurance in the Greater DC Metropolitan Area (Virginia, Maryland, DC). Write your complaint to your State Insurance Commissioner - tell them "Outlaw GEICO for continuing Fraud - Sanction GEICO Billions".

A driver insured by Geico rear ended my vehicle at an intersection. It took Geico more than 2 weeks to converse with their policy holder and acknowledge responsibility. I had already obtained an estimate to repair the damages from a reputable shop. The Geico adjuster lowballed an estimate (less than 1/2 what the shop quoted). Then the shop had to negotiate with Geico, eventually Geico came around; however, it took a month to get my vehicle repaired. What a terrible insurance company.

GEICO insured me when no one else would seeing I was a service member returning from overseas assignments. That was 25+ years ago. Over the years, GEICO has been responsive to my needs and has provided excellent personalized service. Once I had hail damage to my vehicle. The next day, GEICO had an insurance adjuster come to assess the damage. He came to my work parking lot to make it easier for me! I received the check for the damage quickly. My rates are very competitive and I might go so far as to say unbeatable. I occasionally get quotes from other insurers and they can’t beat the cost of my coverage with GEICO. My children have also spun off of my policy into their own GEICO policies. They have received comprehensive policies at excellent prices too.

My family has carried GEICO auto and home insurance for years. We covered my children on the policy, as well. In mid-2017, I contacted GEICO to inform them that my young adult daughter (who was on the policy) would be moving out of the country for two years for a college program (and would not be visiting home during this time period). They promised to remove her from the policy and add her back on upon return.
In December, upon re-evaluation of the policy, they increased our premium from about 5k annually to over 10k because of traffic infractions she incurred in 2016. I immediately called them and said that she was no longer living at home, did not own a vehicle and did not have access to our vehicles and we would put her back on the policy when she returned. They said they couldn't do that and we were forced to pay because we couldn't prove she had insurance elsewhere. Huh? She didn't need auto insurance elsewhere because she would not be driving in Europe and she did not live at home.
Why are we required to pay under these circumstances? Especially, when they promised to remove her. They claimed it was an insurance law in NH, but no other provider that I spoke with did business this way. I quickly found another insurer and all is well, but GEICO charged me for 10 days of astronomical prorated premiums from the time I cancelled the policy to finding a new policy. This was almost $300! I wouldn't have minded paying my usual premium overage charge, but they found a way to gouge me, even though they made the error by not removing her. Now, it's referred to a collection agency and I have no option but pay it. I asked CS for instructions on how to appeal and was told, "We don't appeal complaints". DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH GEICO. Really shady business practices!

I claimed my accident and went to the damage estimation place and figure out that my rent car was released to other driver under my claim number so I could not rent my vehicle until issue needs to be resolved between Geico and Enterprise. I was trapped into that place for 5 hours without lunch. Only I was told to be waited until resolution will be made and call back to report status but it was never kept until I called them back for 3 times and made complaint about it.
I was expected they are trying to find out alternative solution quickly and let me get out of the place since it is their fault with Enterprise but it was not happening as I hoped up. I should come back home without rent car helping by others. All I have response from Geico after that is you will not be penalized by Enterprise. Should I really be told that way from Geico even though it was not my fault and never get any apologies? They do not have any backup plan or system if the similar or same thing happens to you. They don’t really concern you unfortunately even though they speak, “Customer is our priority.” Enterprise is really sucks too!
