I have 4 vehicles insured with Geico. I have full coverage on all vehicles. 2 of my cars are classic corvettes. I'm changing my oil in my 87 vette when the jack came down fast. The car hit hard on the tire cracking the smoked glass roof. I called Geico the adjuster said a top is $1019.00 minus $500 deductible. I get $519 to fix my car. 3 weeks of searching internet getting on the phone calling and cannot find a roof. I had a PRISTINE ROOF. No cracks scratches nothing. I cannot find a roof for under $1700.plus $300 shipping. I call the adjuster ask her where she came up with the prices in 5 minutes when for 3 weeks I can't find a top no matter how I tried. She said she went to Corvette.com got her price. I went to corvette.com and they have absolutely NO ROOF AT ALL. ONLY A HEADLINER $79 so she lied to me. THAT WAS LIE NUMBER ONE.
Then she said take it to any shop of my choice. The shop will notify them and they will pay the difference. I want that in writing. She can't provide that so I get her supervisor on the phone. He talks to me in a stern voice told me I was rude and nasty. I said don't try ripping me off. Where does it say in my policy to be nice after a adjuster low balls me. We went back and forth. He said to take my car to any shop of my choice. They will review it then decide if they will pay. So if I take my car to a shop they review it and decline it I'm stuck paying the shop. He talked to me like I was beneath him with his stern and proper voice and eventually told me have a nice day.
I called Geico for a total of 9hrs on the phone. I was put on hold for 45 minutes at a time (they were trying to make me give up). I would call geico and it would automatically put me on hold. I got smart dialed *67. I got through to a very nice lady who listened and took my call. She said she would go to the higher ups with my complaints. Next day the same stern talking supervisor that told me I was rude and nasty leaves me a very nice message saying he is very concerned and is going to do everything he can to replace the back window on my corvette. His whole attitude was completely different. He was sucking up big time. Thing is it's the roof needs replaced and not the back glass so I will be back on the phone Monday morning again. I have been with Geico 14yrs and they treated me HORRIBLE....NEVER AGAIN. I WILL NOT SPEND ONE CENT WITH THAT COMPANY AGAIN.
Couple days I get couple calls from a investigator for insurance fraud because I put my full coverage insurance back on my car so I could drive it 10 minutes after I reported my accident BUT MY CORVETTE HAD STORAGE INSURANCE AND WAS COVERED at the time of the accident regardless. So I ask the investigator why me and him are talking? Couldn't anyone at his company have looked and seen my my car was covered under storage insurance? Why do you have me on the phone? Why am I being looked at like a thief? Why did you even contact me? He said that's how geico is geared. ALL I WANT IS MY CAR PUT BACK TO THE WAY IT WAS BEFORE THE ACCIDENT. THAT'S WHAT I PAY FOR.

In May of 2020 I was in an auto accident and submitted a claim and from day one it’s been a nightmare! Took over two weeks for them to tow my car to a body shop since they wanted to total WITHOUT EVEN SEEING A PICTURE OF THE CAR! Why you ask since it’s a 2007! We had to fight for days since no one wanted to call us back after we left message after message. Then my shop had submitted the quote and have them fight over the cost. We were given 3 numbers for the appraiser and 2 had no clue what we were calling about.
When our shop finally contacted the correct one she gave him nothing but trouble to the point where the body shop owner hung up on her for the way she was speaking to him. Honestly what is the point of having an insurance company for almost 8 year to not have them on your side when an accident occurs that in the police report proves I was not at fault? We have 3 vehicles on our policy. After the way we have been treated we have now started to look for a new carrier. They were great until we needed help!

It was easy for me to sign up with Geico online, and I did have a nice discount over my previous insurance. On my third year renewal, I got a notice saying I would get a 15% discount for COVID-19, but my bill went up 5%. They had raised my rates 20%, with a clean record and no tickets. I had become a senior citizen over the past year. On this site, I see several other people whose rates went up on becoming a senior citizen. So I switched, and saved money. They make it difficult to stop insurance. You have to call them, and hope they process it correctly. I also had an umbrella policy, which you have to call, then send them an email, but they didnt cancel the policy and sent me a new bill, increasing the charges for this policy retroactively. It took multiple calls and a certified letter on my part to straighten things out, but they did finally refund my unused policy.

My son backed into our neighbors parked car. There were minimal damages (or so I thought by looking at the car) so I told him he had to pay for the damages out of pocket. I was surprised to learn that the damages were over $1800. A week later my neighbor called and said the lights needed to be replaced because they had gotten wet due to the accident. I then called the insurance and they covered the cost of the lights but refused to cover the bodywork, even though we provided all necessary information. I called them numerous times and was told numerous times that someone would call me back, but they ever did.

Geico gave 15% back and increased my rate 30%. This was not due to any changes in my driving record. I was told by the agent that Geico increased the rates statewide. I have look for data on this and haven't found it. I am looking for a new insurance.

I switched from AAA auto insurance to Geico about one and a half years ago. Obviously they took my money every month, no problem there. About a year ago I put my daughter on a policy that was her own policy as this was recommended by the Geico agent. I set up the policy and online account. The account had my email and phone number and my payment information with my name on the card that was paying but then there was an issue. The usual payment was $98 a month but it jumped for one month to $274. I saw this and called Geico and even though they had all my information and payment information they refused to talk with me about the account and were rude about it.
After the second rude person I asked for a manager and they said someone would get back to me, that was three days ago.... still waiting for that call. I am a disabled veteran and this place is supposed to be "military and veteran friendly". They are not anyone friendly. They will take your money no problem but I have now been on hold for over 30 minutes to cancel my policy and still waiting. Called AAA and got that insurance going no problem and I will stick with AAA from here on out. My recommendation is to stay away from Geico.

I was a customer for four years. First off, GEICO's "giveback" only applies to new/renews. If you don't renew, they keep your money for not driving your car for the last 4 months. Secondly - They attempted to increase my rates every chance they got - and without any notification. After purchasing a new car in September 2019 and having my rate fall 25%, they raised my premium by 30% without any notification. The reason: "I was storing my car in a different zip code." In reality, I was parking my car for 10-12 hours a day at my work address. They made me jump through hoops to prove I was not residing at my work address - and finally after a ton of effort on my part, they reduced my premium back to where I actually live.
Finally, I was involved in a serious collision in February 2020. The accident was 100% the other driver's fault. In June 2020 I received a new policy in the mail stating my new premium was now 40% higher (including the "giveback"). The justification - they pulled up an old ticket for a non-moving violation "obstructed windshield" due to rearview mirror air freshener, that was dismissed in court. In actuality, they raised my premium due to the not-at-fault accident. Stay away from this company at all cost - very shady business practices.

I shopped for insurance after I got a new car. Geico gave me the best auto insurance price. I told them very clearly what needs to be covered... Few month later I got one of my car get stuck in snow and got the front bumper damaged.. I called in and found out that is not covered. They only gave full coverage on the new car and all others only had liability coverage. When they are selling the policy they say something else but they give something totally different in written. So If you get a policy from them make sure if it is all written down correctly.

If you watch television I am sure you have heard the commercial where Geico is providing a 15% discount to current and future customers due to the COVID pandemic. Unfortunately, the current customers DO NOT get a discount. The discount will apply when the plan renews and if you do not renew you obviously get no discount. I have tried calling with no response and CHAT simply reads the script as I have relayed above. My question is how can this lie be allowed to be broadcast?

I have been a customer for over 10 years, and every time they renew my policy I get a raised in premiums, really, I was told that due to the accidents in my area, they can raise my rates, I am a senior, and use my car for doctors appointment and buying essentials, and due to the virus, the traffic was deceased, so why do I have to pay for somebody auto accident. On consumer affairs, that younger and older individuals rates go up based on the age, so I am older and never had a drastic accident, when I feel I cannot drive anymore, I will have my children drive me.

I switched from USAA (veteran) to Geico - due to an approx 50.00 monthly savings for the exact same coverage! This in itself was a tremendous break. But I'm here to tell you about the Roadside Assistance coverage and how it's worth every bit of the added additional charge to my policy. To say "Life Saver" seems almost an understatement. The Geico app is intuitive and so easy to use - it will even pinpoint your car's location- very handy when you're in an unfamiliar neighborhood. AND- the CS reps are so helpful if you need to call. Everything is automated - so you don't have to call - but if you want to you can. How fantastic is that!! You can even lodge a complaint or praise about the service provider they connect you with. Not to mention - you never need cash if you're calling for the services they cover at no additional cost to you.
Here's another plus to the service - there's no limit to the number of times you call them (some services will cost if you request assistance a second time for the same occurrence ie-I have my car towed (no cost) but that garage couldn't fix the problem - so I request another tow (at my expense -unsure if it's discounted). I called to have my car jump-started. I traveled 2 blocks and inadvertently turned off my car-not long enough run time for the battery to be brought back to life. Within 10 minutes of my first request - I was submitting a second. Neither one cost me anything (other than the "tip" to the driver - completely at my discretion). The cost for me 17.00 per month! Definitely worth it- I've used the service 3 times since signing on with GEICO - and I'm confident I already received a return on that $17 investment!!

The customer service is not too good. I cancelled my policy, they owed me a $1k refund. I waited on hold for an hour (no option for automatic callback). They transferred me around to a couple departments, then told me the Accounting Department would have to call me back that week. They never did, so I needed to call back again and wait on hold and be transferred again and wait on hold again. I'm currently on hold, hasn't been resolved yet. Please add automatic call-back option, it is frustrating to use hours and hours of my time to wait on hold. Wtf.

Poor customer service after my accident. I’d been with this company for years without incident until I had a fault collision and they tried to total out the value of my vehicle and didn’t want to reimburse damages. Do your due diligence & research comps. I researched mine and they had to pay. The value of my car was worth more than they appraised. Never take the first offer! The supervisors were rude especially after I canceled with them and went with another company, before they canceled me! I didn’t renew because my rate went up! The superior supervisor stated I wasn’t deserving of a reimbursement & refused to give her name and record the conversation as a professional courtesy because she lied and gave false information.

I was repeatedly lied to, you can’t get ahold of the same person twice, account notes were never made accurately. My calls were rarely returned. One of our trusty???? city courts of upstate NY made a series of clerical errors resulting in a no seatbelt ticket on my driving abstract. I was able to get things sorted out with them and sent all of the documentation over to Geico, they said it wasn’t enough, then all the courts shut down due to Covid. I waited a bit (week or two) but was still waiting on a call regarding the review of the policy. I waited too long, called them and they had no idea what I was talking about.
So I resubmitted paperwork, I kept calling the court but got nowhere. I begged Geico to call the court themselves as I couldn’t get anywhere. And they kept saying they went above and beyond doing that (they wanted praise for helping their customer like they should have and for using a phone). I had been over paying on this policy 80$ a month due to this mix up and they somehow they are only refunding me 277$ for the whole policy. Then they renew my policy when I never set of auto renew and never agreed to another policy charging me 140$ a month (Everywhere else I got a quote they charged me half that. About 75$ a month) and they credited my money to this policy without my permission and then refused to refund it so that I could establish a policy elsewhere (times are very tight for us all).
They lied to me repeatedly. They were rude, degrading and absurdly unethical. They are essentially a criminal organization that stole my money and took advantage of court error in order to over charge me, they didn’t have my back, they are outrageously rehearsed, and they have no business ethics. Expect to pay more than you should and get treated like garbage.

When I was using online Quote from GEICO at the end I received a very nice Quote. Soon I found that out of the 2 cars only 1 received the insurance coverage. I had to call Insurance Agent and talked about it. He fixed the issue and apologized. Later I found that the initial coverage for Bodily Injury and Uninsured Motorist was changed from $100,000/$300,000 down to $25,000/$50,000 which is something I never asked for!
Next, I called to GEICO Agent again complaining about this issue and that I needed to have Property Damage included with my policy. Originally the policy indicated that it was "Rejected". Nonsense, as I did not reject it - this option was simply never presented to me! Next, on top of the Quote becoming unexceptionably high for me, it was found that I am no longer eligible for 15% COVID-19 Discount because it only applies to New Policy, and the changes that were added were not applied to my updated Policy! So, they gave me a Low-End Policy Quote instead of what I wanted. Gave me 15% discount on it. And when I asked for all of that to get fixed - they would no longer give this discount for the fixed Auto Insurance Policy quote! Of course, I've canceled my Auto and Condominium Insurance from GEICO before they even started and asked for Money Back!

Hung up once on my daughter for asking questions after a Geico client rear ended her. We were the victims and were insulted and will never forgive. Same experience recently with a client of theirs. Geico has fraudulent business practices. In 2007 after joining the military I bought my first car a 2001 VW Golf and was initially insured through Geico. I was inexperienced and didn't know they were overcharging me until some older co-workers told me. I saved 50 percent on my car insurance by switching away from GEICO because with 2 speeding tickets and nothing else they decided to charge me a premium for 2 reckless driving tickets each the equivalent of a D.U.I. without disclosing it to me. They refused to refund the difference between a plan based on my driving record vs the one they falsified.

I just got my 6 month renewal from Geico and the new term had the usual increase - about $35. I was not going even to call and hear the usual excuses about increased risk, fraud, it's for everyone in the state etc. On closer look I saw "You received 15% discount for Covid-19". It turned out they raised my rate with 15% and then "gave" me discount of 15%, which means that on the next renewal there may be no discount and I have to live with 15% higher premium. This is typical car sales trick, inflate the initial price and then give the customer "big" discount. Thanks but I haven't lived under rock. Already found another company that doesn't play games. Bye Geico and hope not to see you soon.

I having a issue with one of their vendors. I've been calling for over 2 weeks. Safelite came to my house to replace a windshield. Mind you I didn't have a conversation with safelite prior to this happening. After I was told I had to take a day off work to drive to their office to pay or give them my credit card number over the phone. My job is not just in one building. I'm go to different clinics. The windshield was changed on 4/20. Immediately I started calling Geico for help as I hadn't had any communication with safelite. I thought I was paying them to be on my side. On 4/24 safelite was contacted via chat. Photos were taken where they'd said they'd send a bill. On 5 /11 I didn't have the bill yet so I went to safelite. They refused to take a payment. They sent me to collections for a two week old bill.
This issue has been sitting on Bettyjo's desk for two weeks. I have called over and over and over. They schedule appointments and they don't keep them over the last two consecutive days. They have told me over and over no one else is treated this way. So when I ask why me they keep saying that just my opinion. Today the manager finally called me back, but she said she lost my claim in all of her messages. She forgot about the time change. She didn't know anything about my case. She called me on her personal cell phone. She assures me she's worked there 29 years, but in the same breath doesn't know how to fix it. Mind you I asked for a different manager as this lady hadn't called me.
I have filed complaints against her and a formal complaint with the state. The one manager I did speak with said this is a easy fix. It's just one phone call, but no one will make it. I've been on hold for hours on end. Geico makes it seem like this is all in my imagination. I just being dramatic. In a separate occasion I called for roadside assistance. I was left for over the one hour promised time. I was there for 1.5 hours in the cold dark rain.

GEICO sent me a notification today, explaining the “GOOD NEWS” of the 15% credit they’re providing their customers, due to COVID. Thank you GEICO... But when I looked at my new 6 mth premium, it had increased. I have an excellent driving record, always pay on time, and no tickets (outstanding customer). GEICO’s excuse for raising their premiums is “the increase in medical cost, roads and vehicle repair cost”. That’s a really convenient excuse... Funny I’ve never had an increase in my premiums, prior to their “15%” credit. In these trying times, if this is how GEICO is treating their good customers, imagine how they are treating the ones who are already experiencing hardships. I just think they need to be exposed. SHAME ON YOU GEICO - I will be looking at other insurance companies immediately!!!

Spent hours with multiple agents and supervisors on the phone, with no success. I had to file a formal complaint with Consumer Services Section Arizona Department of Insurance to have Geico's executive office look into our case. After speaking with them, they did in fact determine that the original dates they input for the claim were incorrect. They have since changed the date of the claim to the proper time of the incident and are now covering the glass replacement.
Original Review: May 5, 2020
I have 4-5 automotive/bike policies with Geico open every year. We purchased a new shop vehicle, a Chevy Express Van right around the 1st of April. We immediately went to the DMV to get registration/title taken care of, and insured the vehicle with Geico around April 9th. We specifically requested glass coverage for our Express Van, like most of our other vehicles have. At no point in time did the insurance agent notify us that we needed to sign up for a specific AZ Glass Coverage.
Between April 14th-17th, one of our installers was on a Mobile Job, drove the vehicle on the freeway. Unfortunately, we got a big rock chip in the windshield, that has since turned into a good sized crack. Around April 20th, we did a conference call with our selected glass replacement business, State 48 Glass, and Geico to file the claim and get the repair done. I put my installer/co-owner on the phone to handle the claim, as he is the main policy holder. He was adamant with the insurance agent, that the damage happened to the windshield between April 14-17th.
The insurance agent was drilling my co-owner with difficult questions trying to calculate the exact date of the damage, and my co-owner was again adamant on the dates of April 14th-17th. The insurance agent, then asked if "it was before or after Easter" (a religious holiday, not a date). My co-owner responded that he did not even know what date Easter was. That agent then input a claim date of April 6th, which is conveniently placed before we even had insurance coverage.
I have now spent two weeks on the phone with over 5 agents , and 3 supervisors. I am completely dissatisfied with Geico at this point and am disgusted that they would take advantage of their customers during a pandemic like this. The only time I ever use my insurance is for an occasional glass replacement on our vehicles. It's sad that I pay them year round, thousands of dollars, and when the time comes that I actually need them, they are still robbing me without coverage.
As a whole, Geico:Did NOT Put in the proper claim date we said in original phone call (in an effort to avoid covering the damage).
DID NOT set us up/notify us for the proper AZ Glass Policy.
DID NOT file a formal complaint as requested.
WOULD NOT review our original recorded calls to review employee protocols were being followed.
WOULD NOT cover the windshield replacement.
FILED the claim to the wrong vehicle, despite being provided with registration and title.
WOULD NOT change the date of the claim to the proper time of incident, as said by us in the original phone calls.

We originally picked Geico to save but unfortunately, someone hit us. This person hitting us caused our rates to double. After my policy was done I went to cancel it. I have a new insurance company and they even sent a letter over to stop my policy. Still on April 1st during the covid-19 madness they took $729 out of my bank account and are telling me it will be 10 days until that gets returned. $729 is a lot of freaking money! Especially being taken out by mistake so I have to hope that no other mistakes happen or I am financially screwed. Thanks Geico!

I have been a customer of Geico since 2008. I have liability only on 2 old vehicles. My six month bill has just gone up $357.70. That's $715.40 increase for the year. I haven't had a car accident in over 22 years and never with Geico so I called them to see if maybe this was a mistake. She told me that I could reduce the amount some by taking a driving course (I'm already listed as a safe driver and get a discount for that), and I could take out renter's insurance, and they could reduce my car insurance a little that way. I asked why was my insurance going up so substantially. Get this. She said that medical expenses are going up because of COVID-19, and that I would have to help defray that expense. Goodbye, Geico, even your Gecko has now lost his charm.

GEICO USES ** INTERROGATION TACTICS TO EXTRACT INFO FROM YOU! They are very rude and abusive in the way they do business. I was coming out of a Sizzler parking lot around Jan 19th, 2020, when this kid on a bike just comes out of nowhere and hits my car on the right front fender. Skateboarders are already in the lot skating deliberately in and out of the traffic in the lot. They know better. They know the risks, and yet they defiantly do it anyway. I heard the kid's dad say "That's why I told you to wear a helmet." The kid's actions at that point tells me he doesn't listen to anyone and just does what he wants.
The guy tried to accuse me of speeding simply because I had an Uber sticker in my window. The parents were not even there when this incident occurred. I had the best seat in the house, right up front. An old man behind me said he saw the whole thing and yet, there is no video proof. The guy looked around 80 yrs old so I don't put a whole lot of faith in how good his eyesight is. There were no citations given to either of us. Wouldn't this be considered no fault? After reading many many reviews on Geico, I'm learning that they take accidents and turn them into something they're really not in order to raise your rates. All that happened from my incident is the kid wound up with a bent rim. No damage to my car at all. The kid was walking and moving around just fine immediately following the accident.
Now, Geico is allegedly waiting to hear back from doctor to finish with the claim. Geico told me that by law, the medical report could take up to 2 years. It shouldn't take more than a day or 2. Since Geico and I didn't get along well over the phone, I have suspicions that they are just retaliating against me because I wasn't buying into their bs. And because of this total fraudulent claim, I'm forced to do my own investigating. You can't trust an investigator that works for Geico. Are you kidding me? Geico's job is to make money, no matter how they have to do it, even if it means manipulating your insurance premiums. They do it all the time and they are doing it to my wife and I now. Their lies are going to put me out of work since I drive for a living. These guys are dirty dirty dirty. STAY AWAY FROM GEICO!!!

A deer recently ran out in front of my truck in which I hit the deer and ran off the side of the road trying to avoid from hitting an oncoming car. After the accident the person in which I was trying to avoid from hitting when the deer ran out in the road pulled over and walked up to my vehicle as I was getting out and asked was I okay. Keep in mind I was only about 10 feet from my driveway. So I contacted Geico. Started a claim. When they told me they will send an adjuster out I specially requested that he contacted me before he came out. 1. I wanted to be there 2. I have two (2) dogs that are free to go in and out the house whenever they want and 3. I wanted to show him the deer "WHICH WAS STILL LAYING ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WITH PARTS OF MY VEHICLE" however I made it perfectly clear I didn't want anyone coming out without me being home. I also made 3-5 attempts to contact the adjuster via landline with no hope.
Geico sent him a message to reach out to me to set a date before he come out. The adjuster fail to do so. He came out without me being there, took pictures and just sent me an email with an estimate of $1,300.00 and to contact the insurance company. When I contacted geico they informed me the adjuster told them in his report "there were no signs of me hitting a deer because he couldn't find any deer hair on the vehicle." So geico didn't cover the damage the deer cost which I pay every month for deer coverage because I live next to a gaming site for deer hunting. Now I have a vehicle with no headlight side panel dented in and front bumper hanging to the ground. This is beyond said and I know many of others are treated like this when it comes down to geico and it needs to stop!

When I dropped my vehicle off for repair Enterprise had never been notified and was not onsite. I had to call Mitch, who didn't answer my first attempt, I texted him and received no reply, then called him again. Mitch then sent an Enterprise agent to the dealer. The dealer brought a truck that did not meet my criteria. I then called Mitch back and he told me he never promised me anything and came up with excuse after excuse.
The enterprise rep was great and helped me to secure a vehicle I could use. 1-1/2 hours later I was back on the road. I would highly recommend Enterprise. The enterprise rep also explained to me that Mitch called me picky and told them I was hard to deal with. I called the claims appraiser Manager Brad to tell him my experience with Mitch and he never returned my phone call. The last accident I was a part of the client insured with USAA. This morning adjuster Anthony ** called me already rude and sarcastic telling me he’s done this for 5 years and knows what he’s talking about.
I only asked where we go from here, I called again to speak with a supervisor and they transferred me to him and he said “I don’t know how many times I need to explain to you. I’m the expert here and you do what you want but it’s fees you have to pay.” I asked if the Insurance company would pick up the undrivable vehicle to the auto body shop and with that I deserved to be yelled at. by him. I called to speak with someone higher than him again and they said they would email Anthony again.. By then I broke down crying so hard and said once this claim is over I will be switching insurance companies. Worst experience with this company. Geico Reps have given me every obstacle not to honor their initial quote. Geico did not accept my online application then I filled the paper application and sent it to them but they are not processing my application. I believe they are discriminating against the legal status of immigrants and tagging people and reporting them to the government agencies. Customer Rep asked me who am I living with in the same address and their insurance policies and asked me if person A and person B live there. How the hell she is asking if that person still lives there or not. This is my privacy as well as their privacy (this should be illegal in sanctuary cities like NYC).
Also if I do not provide my roommate insurance card Geico will not provide insurance to me. Totally against my independent right to get a service from an American company. I told the customer rep if I have a strong attorney I will sue you guys because of this discrimination and wrongdoings. She said, "You can not sue us. We are the best insurance company." Basically saying no one will believe you. I encourage all immigrants of the United States of America please move your insurance policies to different companies. I was in an accident for which I was NOT at fault. I immediately called Geico to tell them what had happened so they would have the info. I was not making a claim. I also called the owner of the other car, as the car was a loaner from a dealership, and let them know what happened. My passenger had video of the at fault driver texting and swerving (which he took after the collision, because obviously before that we didn't know he was going to collide with us). The dealership said they were responsible. Geico took my information, and input everything incorrectly into their system including every passenger's name, despite me spelling them all at least six times each. Super difficult names such as Ana (sarcasm). Geico then apparently ran the numbers and decided they would make more money by saying I was at fault, because the payment to the other car owner was basically nothing, whereas raising my rates brought them in a bunch of cash.
They called the other insurance company and claimed fault on my behalf, without telling me. Then they began charging my autopay twice as much every month. They made no attempt to inform me that they were raising my rates or stealing this money, and gave me no opportunity to switch insurance companies. Now, I cannot change insurance companies for three years, because Geico put an "at fault" accident on my record. So for the next three years, they get to hold me hostage and steal money from my account every month, because I legally am required to have auto insurance, and they have made it so I can't use any other company. (This is the ONLY accident I have ever been involved in.) This was all done completely on purpose so that they could steal money from me, and after reading other people's reviews, this seems to be their standard operating procedures.

I can't speak to this company's claims service other than minor windshield repairs, and their customer service is acceptable (i.e. they eventually answer the phone). My review is based on having them over 2 years for auto insurance and their shady business practices as an insurance company. They are shady because this company as I mentioned above has added minor claims (under $50) to my claims history. I have called another insurance company and they told me this is NOT normal practice. Additionally, and most concerning, I called them to ask a question about a 3 inch scratch my car had received from the garage door closing on it and they, WITHOUT INFORMING ME, added this "claim" to my record as an at fault accident!!! I never in any way requested or received payment from GEICO.
According to their OWN WEBSITE, the definition of a claim is as follows: "Any request or demand for payment under the terms of the insurance policy." I now have an at fault accident on my record which I will have to attempt to remove due to their shady practices which is an extremely difficult process. The only reason to report the minor claims and report an accident from me calling and asking a question about a situation is to TRAP the customer and PREVENT them from seeking a different insurance company. This is no way to treat any customer and certainly not a military member. Lastly, I called to inquire about this false “claim” and they were of zero assistance and not apologetic. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Find an honest insurance company. I immediately canceled my policy (regardless of this situation) and went back to an honest company.

Geico gave us only ONE option on the app: to have the car towed by flatbed, even if the car was fully operational and I drove it from Mass to Connecticut safely. So they took the car up to East Windsor, Connecticut -- a place over an hour away.
They called me a day later to tell me the car is deemed total loss and I have two options: agree to take their low-ball offer to buy a new car ($1,500) or buy back the car from the salvage company they already apparently took it to. A salvage company?! I thought my car was getting appraised? They did not give me the option to take it to a local body shop (though, after a bit of researching, I learned that there are about three auto shops here that work with Geico), I wasn't given the option to say don't take it to a salvage company, and I wasn't given really any options AT ALL. Now, I have to take my car in a flatbed to the DMV to get a "salvage" title.
Ah yes, let's talk about my representative. Fast forward to Jan. of this year and I get a letter in the mail about my premium. It is going up by 40-50 dollars because the claim was filed under the wrong category. I have called at least 4-5 times trying to get this issue fixed and have gotten nowhere. I explained to them that I hit an animal, I was not at fault, I did not swerve and hit anything else such as another person or object. They said, "Ok let's send this in to the claims adjuster to take a look at. Give us a couple days."
FIVE DAYS PASS and I call back because I havent heard anything. A different person tells me the same thing. Apologizes for the wait, but says, "Let me contact the claims adjuster again." I said ok. He says give it a couple days. I wait FIVE MORE DAYS and still no reply. I call back and the girl tells me in fact they have heard from the claims adjuster and he denies that I hit an animal based on what he saw that day when looking at my car. He claims to have not seen any evidence such as hair or blood and therefore I did not hit a deer and apparently I'm a liar and it's my fault. I upload four pictures of my car's damages from the morning after it happened and there is clearly animal hair on my car.
I dont know what drugs these claims adjusters are doing but they really need to get their eyesight checked. Finally after submitting the photos as proof the last person I spoke to said that she can clearly see animal hair on my car and they will be "reviewing the photos with the claims adjuster and expect to hear back within 24 hours" HA. We all know how that works. I doubt I will hear back from anyone.
What I'd like to have happen is geico or whoever to admit they screwed up and give me my 400 back and lower my rates back. I should not be punished for something that was out of my control. I have a baby on the way and I can not afford to pay over 200 bucks a month for frikkin car insurance. That's simply outrageous.

I called Geico for emergency road service because I needed a towing service. Geico sent me a towing truck. The ignorant tow driver damaged my car big time. So my car was taken to a local dealership for repair. Because my car sat there for repair for 5 business days, I wasn't able to drive for Uber (my main source of income).
I called Geico to claim loss of earnings. Although I lost 5 days of work due to 100% fault by the tow driver (Geico's contractor), Geico did not budge to indemnify or help me go after the tow driver. Think about it in my shoe. I did nothing wrong to my car. I lost 5 days of work because the Geico-selected tow driver damaged my car. Now Geico only covers the repair cost, but not the loss of earnings. Geico has no accountability at all? Geico doesn't care its contractor caused loss of my earnings? Geico only wants your money and evades when you actually need their help.

It took several weeks for them to review the claim. They said they needed more evidence to overturn the denial. I produced pictures and police report. I hit a deer and had some pretty minor damage. The beginning of the process went smooth enough. I filed online, and the next day an adjuster came and did the estimate. This is where things started going bad. The adjuster advised me that all I had to do was take the estimate to the shop of my choice, and email him the details. After he got the name of the shop they would work directly with them. The next day I took the car to the shop, and emailed the adjuster the shops info.
3 days later the car was repaired. 10 days later I still don't have my car. First, the adjuster never contacted the shop or provided the shop information to the claims dept. When I called the claims dept they apologized and assured me they would overnight a check. The check wasn't overnighted. It took 5 days. What's worse? The check was made out to a repair shop that I had never heard of. At this point a stop had to be put on the check, and it would be 24 hours before they could issue another one. At this point I'm pretty upset, but it just got worse.
After the 24 hours they inform me that they will be issuing another check, that will be overnighted this time. This was a Friday, and I'm told that the check will be sent out at 3pm. They even called the repair shop to inform them that the check would arrive by FedEx Friday. I'm writing this review on Saturday after just learning that not only did the check not arrive, it hasn't even been sent. Since they can't issue checks on a Saturday, it won't be sent until Monday!!! By the time I'm able to pick-up my car it will have been sitting at the shop repaired and ready to go for 2 full weeks. When asked how they intended to address this issues they simply offered up an empty apology. Too bad I can't drive that to work!

My car was recently almost totaled by a gentleman who illegally tried to pass me on the right and then tore through my car with a low extra large trailer. There was zero damage to his vehicle. Right from the beginning, with zero investigation or calling the police, they claimed that I was 100% at fault. The they claimed I was only 50% after we prodded them for more of an investigation. They then called and lied saying the other company had denied being at fault and they were closing out the claim with me being at fault for going straight in a left turn only lane. Only problem being there was no left turn only lane and the other company was still working with me and hadn’t made a determination yet.
We insisted that the representative Anna call the local police department to verify that the lane had no signs and was not left turn only and she stated she had watched 3 videos of the area and had “watched people take left turns from the lane I was in.” That was her “proof.” I the brought up that in MA it is illegal to pass on the right (what this other driver did), so she faulted ME for that and sent it to the state. No evidence, no waiting for the other insurance who still hasn’t talked to their client, no verifying with local police, nothing. These people have been rude, condescending, and single minded. I’ve been told over and over that “if it went to arbitration, we would lose” without any explanation of how or why. The pictures of my vehicle and the area show a completely different picture. We’ve asked to talk to a management and they keep telling us we need to stick with this woman. Each day we get a new surcharge notice.
In 2011, I was in an accident where a bus pulled out without looking and hit my car. The other driver was found 100% at fault. When I joined Geico, they put this in their insurance as my fault and unknowingly charged me for years for it, until we went to the state and confronted them with the documents. They never fully reimbursed us. They are not customer friendly, do little to update you on what is happening with your vehicle, and will lie to you and the state. This has been upsetting during an already difficult time in our family. Steer far away.

After the fact I learned I needed to call the financial company for a valuation sheet. For which I am still making payments in a car I don't have, I am renting a car Geico only paid for a few days, I lost the time to transfer my plates, 30 days now I have to return, I loss the time to transfer the insurance, 30 days and gap will not pay difference because they need a copy of a cancel check. Claim # **. Should I hire a lawyer? This never happened to me before.
Original Review: On December 3rd my car was totally lost. It is a month and still has not been paid off by Geico. The check has not been issued. It has been a nightmare of phone calls and not having direction from most of the employees. All these people taking care of one claim. The process is confusing and extremely slow. Now the Salvage Department had not cut the check. They are mailing more papers and I'm still paying the loan for a car that I don't have. Also the gap insurance can't pay the difference. Geico did not appraise the car for the full amount. I know that's nobody's problem but this is too slow. I never went through this. I used to have all my insurances with Geico and slowly but surely I keep dropping them because it's just not right. At least in Florida they are very slow and I really think they don't care about their clients at all.

Geico insured rear ended my wife’s car at a stop light. Their insured admitted fault and was issued a ticket by the police dept. Geico adjuster suggested body shop. Geico rep at body shop very rude. When I told rep I did not want after market parts on a 2 year old $42,000 car with 25000 miles on it he slammed the claim folder shut and told me I would have to pay the difference for factory parts and to call the adjuster. He then yelled “next” to a large list of people on a dry erase board. Rudest man I ever met. I then took the car to the body shop of the dealer I bought it from and got an estimate. Geico still refused to put Ford parts in my wife’s Ford Edge Titanium. We finally surrendered to non OEM parts and had the car repaired.
It took nine days to repair what should have taken four days because the After Market Parts people sent the body shop the wrong parts. Somehow Geico feels I am responsible for the delay and refuses to pay my loss of use claim even though in my state, Florida, the law is clear that a person is entitled to compensation for loss of use even though they did not rent a replacement vehicle. When last I spoke to an adjuster, (there are many and you never get the same one twice) she told me she did not have the authority to pay my loss of use claim and I needed rental car receipts, Uber receipts, or receipts from a friend or relative who let me use their car. Big surprise here, I own more than one car.
She told me her supervisor, Mr. ** would call me to discuss this. That was two weeks ago. So far, no Mr. **. My next step is to file a complaint with the DOI, followed by a lawsuit (pro Se) against their insured. Their business plan seem to be to just ignore you and you will just go away. No wonder this company makes billions of dollars a year. If you’re looking for any customer service or respect, don’t look to Geico. Look for an attorney instead. Would not recommend 10 plus years of service never a claim but when I needed them they were not there for me.. Geico customers need to be aware that if you are in a collision with another Geico customer and there is a disagreement Geico will not arbitrate for either side. Meaning whatever the decision is that is the final decision. To be clear if it was a case of Geico vs other insurance they would follow an abitration process..
We learned the hard way that there is no way to challenge a decision.. What I may have in my favor is the fact that in spite of written and verbal request to have an agent inspect the vehicles damage as indisputable proof of what could or could not have occurred they refused.. less than 2 days after my accident was reported while I was still presenting evidence Geico had already made its decision.. Geico acted like it did me a favor ruling no fault to both parties.. BUT I’m still left with paying my deductable.. Another point that is also critical when using Geico. They will low ball the cost buy quite a bit. The problem in my case and similar is that the decision requires amendments extending the repair process 3 or more days… Geico is NOT one that will cut you a check the low ball the estimate to assure this…

Being a car wreck is such a horrible experience to start and with the lack of consumer protection that comes with some of the insurance company nightmares is just not right. After being in a wreck and placing my car with a mechanic, I had not heard from Geico in weeks. I called to inquire what was going on. They apologized and mentioned someone would be with me soon. I received a call a few days later from my adjuster with questions and that he was extending me a car rental. Over 30 days passed and my car was finally ready. The mechanic calls and states I do not have rental per my insurance company, and I owe him $1700 for car rental. I call Geico to inquire about what was said and each rep clearly showed where the adjuster stated “extending the car rental” yet “sorry ma’am you do not have rental coverage” and that it was a mistake.
Shortly after I get a call from the adjuster who states “yes I said that but you don’t have rental” in a what I thought to be aggressive manner. There was dead silence as I didn’t know how to answer being shocked from the unprofessionalism from a huge company like Geico. Me and my husband switched to Geico not so long ago. The price was attractive comparing to other insurance carriers and after a research we decided to go with Geico. Everything went fine until an accident happened. My car was legally parked and not moving, my door was slightly opened as my husband was trying to unload something from the car, but it was safe as I had enough space to even open it fully, the street's main traffic had enough space. The other vehicle was bypassing traffic on the right through a bicycle path and hit my door. The driver left the scene and didn't bother to stop, I had to chase him, thanks God I have a video register inside of my car.
However, after submitting all evidence and making the statement, Geico adjuster decided that I was 80% liable for the accident. The funny part is that I opened the claim, I did all the investigation work and submitted the pictures of the street and of my car and the video where you see how my car was parked, got hit from the side (that was not captured by the camera, but you can see the shake), and you see the other vehicle on the bicycle path trying to get into the main lane. When I asked the adjuster based on what she made her determination, the answer was based on the statement of the other driver. The driver who left the scene, lied to me that he never hit me and made a false statement.
Needless to say, I am leaving Geico and would like to warn everyone, don't buy into lower pricing, it will cost you an arm and a leg later on. One more important fact, did you know that you have to speak yourself to the other insurance, Geico doesn't do this for you. You also have to reach out to your adjuster yourself and if you lucky they will pick up the phone from the 100th time. But usually they don't get back to you at all. You have to go through all levels of aggravation and frustration just to get someone on the phone or via email. Good luck to all current Geico customers!

I had no issue with Geico the first 6 months. I paid every month on Autopay and everything had been going smooth. In September 2019, I got the email they sent every month to remind me of my autopay that was coming up. My payment was more than doubled. I called them up and they said it’s for 2 tickets. 2 tickets I never got. They said it happened in Utah but California DMV was reporting it. I had traveled to California for work quite a bit a few months before. I called California DMV and I was told I had to come in to resolve this. I live in Utah and this was not an option. I called Utah DMV and the employee told me to go run my driving record because she just did and I will see there is nothing on my driving report. She explained to send that copy to Geico because Geico pulls their driving records through a third party company. So I got my driving record pulled and I sent to Geico showing they were not my tickets.
They said, "Okay we will fix this" and email me my new bill within 24 hours. They never sent me a bill so I called the the day after next, giving a full 24 hours. I did however get a cancellation notice. I called and they said I was supposed to call in and get my new bill???? I said, "That is not what I was told and why wouldn’t you email it to me so it is in writing?" So they said they would reinstate my policy and email me. I got the email 20 minutes later with the more than doubled payment!!!! I called back and said, "Why is this saying the same amount you billed me for the tickets." They said it’s because (Get ready for this) when I started my policy in March, I had to pay 163 to get the insurance. Into only did I pay it, I pulled up my bank statement through my app and showed all of my payments for every month.
This amount was the same exact amount they said I owed because of tickets that were not mine. So my fiancé called for me and spoke to a supervisor. The supervisor was nice and said they never removed the tickets and that I don’t owe anything for March. She he removed the tickets and emailed us a new bill with the due date. 3 days before my due date I get a cancellation notice again. I called them again. They said I had to pay that amount the day he quoted me. I said I would have if I knew this but he said he was emailing the bill with due date of the 3rd and I can go back in and set up auto pay and it’s not even the 3rd yet.
They said, "Okay can you make the payment now?" And I said yes. So then they said okay you owe and it was 65 dollars more than what I not Ally pay and was quoted. I said, "No wait it is supposed to be this amount" and they said, "No what you are quoted is not guaranteed for more than 24 hours and Utah rates went up." I hung the phone up and called Progressive and got it. Good rate and will never bother with Geico again.

My vehicle was in excellent condition inside and out. I was told that maintenance doesn’t add value to a vehicle.??? The system that the insurance company uses for appraisal is flawed. I was told that there were 8 comparable vehicles in a 100 mile radius of my zip code which was completely false.
Then I was told that they can use vehicles that have been sold in the last 90 days?? I had high hopes that Geico would handle this promptly and take care of us. To add insult to injury we are forced to return the rental without securing another vehicle. Our claim was settled on the 12th and they want us to return the rental on the 16th. If your car gets hit by a Geico customer, get ready my friend, because you are in for one heck of a ride. Here are some things you should do to prepare for the roller coaster your life will soon become:
1. Cancel all your plans for at least the next few months. You may wish to quit your job or take a leave of absence as well. You're going to spend so much time on the phone leaving voicemails that you'll wish you had a personal assistant, and no one has time to hold down a job when you have a Geico claim to deal with. Don't worry, your adjuster will call you back, but it will just be to let you know that they'll finish your claim soon. Speaking of which...
2. Get used to the word "soon". You'll hear this word so much it'll make your head spin. If you think you know what this word means then think again. Your adjuster may give you a vague time frame for when your claim should be completed such as, "by the end of this week". This is a lie, they meant to say "soon" which they must think is a synonym for eternity.
3. Get a police report and take as many pictures as possible. Your adjuster is going to need so much proof that this accident happened, you may have to invent a time machine and have them witness the accident themselves. Get the contact information for all witnesses, the other driver, passengers, and even the police officer writing the report if you can. You may decide to send these people a friend request on social media as well, because you'll need all the support you can get. Every time you think that you've given the Geico adjuster the information they need, they'll come up with yet another useless fact for you to verify. Again, expect to spend most of your time on the phone for the next few months.
Obviously I've exaggerated the level of difficulty in filing a claim through Geico. However, it's unfortunately not very far off the mark. It will take forever to make any progress with a claim made through this company and they will do everything in their power to avoid paying you, even if you yourself are a Geico customer. They have decent rates, but if you even think about using the insurance you're paying for they will do everything to stop you.

It is now 3 months still waiting for my $200 refund. Orange CT office provides the worst service compared to the locations we had to deal with.

I had been a customer of Geico for at least 5 years. I had never had a bad experience with them until recently. I have recently fallen into some financial troubles and fell behind on a payment. I had believed I caught up on the payment a month ago and had even called customer support to confirm that I was fine. The representative confirmed that as long as stayed up with my monthly payments I would be ok.
About 1 month later I received a cancelation notice, so I again called customer support to figure out what was going on. The representative explained what was happening but was of no real help. She sounded like a script and had no interest in helping a long time customer. When I told her I was thinking of going with another company since I was being given wrong information, she replied with "ok, have a great day". If this is how they treat loyal customers then I am glad to take my business elsewhere. I was never looking for anything free, just some empathy for being given the wrong information. So based on customer service I do not recommend this company.

I tried to cancel my policy online (unsuccessfully), a couple of days before my next monthly payment would be charged. I could not afford the future payments and had been added to my boyfriend's insurance. When I was not able to cancel online, I called customer service. They claimed that they could not stop the payment request coming from my bank and would just refund the money after it processed. I explained that I did not have enough money in the account and it would overdraft. Fast forward 2 wks, to this morning, when I received an email stating I owed $17.66 and if I did not pay, I'd be sent to collections. I called customer service again, spoke to a supervisor even... They were no help at all. After being a Geico customer for over a decade, this is the thanks I get? A company worth 20 billion is sending me to collections for $17.66!!

Claims process was expeditious but nothing else was. 1 month ago today and counting, you spend money that you earn with expectations of satisfactory service when needed. We work hard for our money and to have an experience unsatisfactory for over paying any claim amount, I trusted Geico to do their part because each month for 4 yrs accident free I did mine in payments. I went to a Geico approved shop to have my car repaired one month later. I'm still waiting and was told today that Caliber Collision Round Rock will be waiting 18 more days for a $200 at best part because they get a discount from their Network parts place. Reporting this to Geico was a waste of time, when their claims rep took my call.
I went down only to find my Cadillac full of dirt and dust door off completely uncovered inside a body shop. Repairing cars in the past I researched the part and found 3 by Google that shipped 3 days in stock. My agent finally calls after explaining all of this and did nothing but confirm everything I stated. This is a Geico approved body shop that you trust for your money you'll get good service when recommended by your claims agent. So here's the numbers. They're paying 4k plus to recommend substandard service, on a Cadillac that I'll have paid 800 and not driving in car. Note another 800 in insurance and for the almost two months wait I pay a 500 dollar deductible so caliber collision could save a few bucks on a $200 part after being given 4k plus to repair.
Consumers no longer get what they're forced to pay for in this situation of which mind you I have paid 4 yrs accident and claim free x400. That's $19200 paid minus $4500. That's $14700 profit off of mandatory insurance laws without any incentive to customers. I've had this vehicle 3 months of which 1.5 I'm waiting for poor recommendation by Geico and even poor service by caliber collision. These sites are just for venting to consumers, nothing is ever done, you get robbed, you make a report that's filed away. That's how business is done nowadays. I have proof of my car being neglected in the shop, proof of 3 parts places capable of shipping in 3 days and proof Geico did absolutely nothing but start the claim and moved on.
Never once did I worry thinking I'd receive great service by Geico and its Network, never call to check on my vehicle because I left it in their hands, it's what I pay for right. My completion date has changed 3x and now the fourth. My claims agent resolved nothing and will probably do nothing further and continue to waste hard working customer's money and do business with this horrible place. Thanks Geico! You'll save money but you're getting what you pay for. Guess I'm only paying for their lizard commercials. Frustrated and robbed consumer.

I was hit by another car in 2018. GEICO accepted full liability. Geico never once attempted to protect me. They never investigated like I was promised. They never did anything for me matter of fact. They are a submissive company that just went ahead full steam to lay down. The facts of the loss indicate that their liability decision is against motor vehicle and traffic law. What is the point of saving 15% when they couldn't handle a claim that bites them in the **. Now because of their submission I am to be penalized by a rate hike for three years? Sorry GEICO, not everyone is dumb like you prefer. Very upset with the corporate machine that was supposed to protect me. But I rest well knowing that their wheels are falling off before my eyes. Geico recently rendered my car a total loss after it was stolen and recovered. They instructed me to mail my original title to Georgia where my check would be processed. When I asked whether there was a faster alternative since this is nearly 2020, the claims adjuster said that he couldn't meet me for 2-3 weeks to provide a check and the adjuster covering my area is also out on leave for 2 weeks. What kind of nonsense is this - they are too busy to get me a check. Thankfully, I am not dependent on this check to buy another car but if I was, I would be pissed. Adjuster's attitude was also less than acceptable. When I threatened to call Geico directly, his response was "I am Geico." When I threatened to complain to Geico because the alternatives for payment were not acceptable, his response was - "You can do that but they are only going to send you back to me". Not happy with Geico.

I was with State Farm previously and I had transferred my auto insurance coverage to Geio since May of 2019. On the 22nd of November, one of my cars was pulled over and impounded by a police apparently for having suspended registration due to not having the proper liability insurance coverage. My wife and I had to go to the NJ DMV with proofs to reinstate the registration and we were able to pick up the car but had to pay $260 out of our own pocket to get it out of the lot.
I called Geico customer service and spoke to numerous agents and asked for their help to cover this $260 expense. They all blamed my previous insurance company, State Farm, for this and told me they can't help me covering this fee. Ultimately I asked and spoke to a customer service supervisor named George (Geico employee code: **) and was told that there isn't anything they did wrong and they're not responsible for this. No apology. It was State Farm, DMV and my responsibility, not theirs according to him.
I really don't understand this as I have paid my full insurance premium to Geico up to date and believed both my cars were fully insured and covered as they should be. I could have been in an accident and found out my car's registration was suspended without insurance and could have been in worse situation. This can happen to anyone carrying the Geico auto insurance, and not just me.
I expect my auto insurance company to fully update their dues to DMV and other resources so I don't lose my car for suspended registration because it's not properly insured/covered. If they made a mistake, I want them to admit their fault and apology. I didn't do/cause anything to pay this $260 fee. Why do I have to pay $260 to pick up my car out of impound lot when I paid all my premium and my car should have been properly insured? If I can't get the Geico to pay $260, at least I want the Geico customer service supervisor, George (employee code: **) to have more professionalism as the customer service supervisor to listen or show efforts to help a customer.

GEICO has some serious ethical issues within their claims department in their West Coast office based in Poway, CA. I had an accident last year for which they decided that I was at fault purely based on the witness statements. The original claim handler did not thoroughly do the due diligence on her end and closed the case. I was not 100% convinced and I asked for someone from the management to investigate my file and make a fair decision. She said there is no one who I can talk to from management, but she gave an email ID where I could send the findings, and someone will review my claim.
I had sent multiple emails to that email ID but no response. After a while, I tried reaching out to my claims adjuster and it was brought to my attention that someone new was assigned to my case because the original handler was promoted. I made so many attempts to reach out to management, but I had zero luck. They constantly redirected me to the same location which I never asked for and they didn’t even ask me once whether I even want to speak with the people from that department. I spoke to 2 supervisors and 1 manager, they contacted me saying we will certainly investigate the matter and get back to you shortly.
For next 2 weeks I never hear back from them and then one fine day they finally get chance to call me and all they have to say is “After hearing statements from all the party we think that witness is true to the word and they have no reason to doubt him”. The last manager and I spoke in-depth and we went through all the details and looked at the Google street view and saw that it was a one-way street with no room for me to change a lane in the first place and another driver abruptly trying to overtake my car with no room to pass. GEICO needs to adjust my insurance rates effective immediately and pay me back for the hike in insurance premiums for the year 2019. I had to pay out of pocket to repair my car damages. In total GEICO owes me back $3,367.18.

I was buying the car for my daughter and he didn’t put her on the policy. He also told me that I had very low deductibles, again wrong. When I finally called about a windshield crack, which he said had a $0 deductible, I found out that wasn’t true. After talking to the lady at Geico, once she got everything accurate, my cost tripled.
I started shopping around and rates were outrageous. For one thing they put that I’d filed a claim twice in October, no, I TRIED to file once but found my deductible was more than a windshield. Also, I had called the salesman to tell him about the deductible and he went in and changed it. I was informed that due to “suspicious activity and too many people making changes on my account”, they were dropping me. I would not have even known they were dropping me if one of the agents I was pricing with had not told me.
Geico told me they would not sell to me even though THEY explained to me what the salesman had done was to get me really low rates so I would believe I could afford the car. It was unreal. They told me that I was scammed then punished ME for it! I made myself sick worrying and shopping and trying to figure out what to do, yet I am the “bad person”. Obviously they are okay with punishing the victim.
The dealership helped me get insurance SIX HOURS before Geico cut me off, with another company who actually saw that the “claim” wasn’t actually made. Geico’s excuse was that they HAVE to put it on my record if I call in whether it gets processed or not and they refused to remove it. By the way, the salesman was doing the sign up online like it was me doing it. The dealership is going to handle him. But, Geico gets no repercussions for allowing that! It has been the worse experience of my life dealing with insurance! PLEASE go into a local office and talk to a real person face to face, for your own sake! Not worth the trauma I went through! Dont know what to do with medical bills, paperwork etc. Every time I call GEICO, oh you need to contact the other insurance company, you need to get that to them, you need to call them. Honestly, I am just FRUSTRATED! I get no help except, "Oh you need to call them." Well then WTF am I paying you guys for? 7 YEARS of payment.. not even a second to help me out here. I work 10 hour days 5 days a week. I dont have time to DO YOUR JOB TOO!
So I'm pissed off, I go shopping for other insurance companies. Well come to find out Allstate insurance for the same exact coverage is only $20 more per month than GEICO!!! My brother has been with Allstate for over 20 years. When he gets in accidents Allstate handles EVERYTHING FOR HIM, REGARDLESS if his fault or not. So Geico, once everything is done and settled with my wife's accident, I'm DONE AND GONE! I can't believe I have you 7 years of my money! WHAT A WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY! YOU GUYS ARE NO HELP. CAN'T EVEN HELP ME OUT WHEN I NEED YOU GUYS THE MOST. Goodbye and good riddance. I'll make sure the entire world hears my review!

I work a union job and after being there for six years the company decides to cut employees with ten years or less for a month. I scrambled to come up with a plan so I made a payment arrangement for as far as they would let me.... Long story short while dropping off our child to school my pregnant wife hit a deer. Instead of waiting for the arrangements I just paid the bill and filed the claim. The next morning my pregnant wife gets a call from an adjuster saying that she would not proceed with my claim unless I printed a bank statement and sent her a copy proving the exact time I paid the bill and she would call me back to let me know if she could proceed or not with the claim later that afternoon.
After calming down my wife I called the customer service line and they informed me that coverage was fine, no issues, the payment posted, we're good to go. WTFFF Geico. On top of being in an accident this is how you guys treat people.... When I called the agent back immediately she was not apologetic. She told me it's policy and I went outside protocol calling customer service. Messed up if you asked me.

I live in New Jersey and travelled to Canada to visit family for Thanksgiving. My luxury vehicle was stolen. When I called Geico they gave me the run around. The theft specialist, Sara ** was suppose to call me back. I waited that day, 7 1/2 months pregnant with a toddler without a Geico rep giving me any suggestion. We ended up taking a flight back as it was the cheaper option.
They don’t plan to pay for the flight, and can only pay for $200 of personal belongings, as I packed my vehicle with all our belongings to leave the day it got stolen. Back in NJ my husband tracked our car and the police was able to retrieve it. He took a flight to Canada to get it, of course they won’t pay for that neither. Their policy is $50 and day, after 48 hours. Wow, worst insurance ever, when you think you're insured and protected...you're really not.

By then the girl I was talking to told me that she had already process the payment. I told her why she process the payment without my permission. I never authorize the payment. Geico has no morals and are liar. They will do anything to get your business and then raise your quote. From $80 a month in less than 15 min they went to $130.00. I had to ask several time what my monthly payment was going to be because they would not tell me. Be careful with this company.

I was out of state to return to my car that had been hit in the rear corner panel. The car was parked in a lot. I have full coverage and filed a claim, got a check. Several months later they raised my rates so I got online and found a quote that was the same as the original Geico price through Progressive. I was about to purchase the insurance online when a message popped up from Progressive saying I was involved in an At-Fault accident. My quote had also changed and was doubled. After calling Progressive as this was news to me, I was informed a company called LexisNexis had my claim from Geico as an AT Fault claim with a payout.
I called Geico who said it was reported to LexisNexis as NOT an AT Fault claim. LexisNexis if you check online has huge issues with False information that can take months to clear only through the mail. Geico did not use the Comprehensive part of my insurance rather the Collision. LexisNexis considers anything not Comprehensive that is paid out as an At-Fault accident. Geico refuses to do anything but write me a letter saying this was a no-fault accident leaving me to deal with their company which after talking to a local agent takes months if at all to clear up. Progressive will not give me insurance at a lower rate until it is changed with LexisNexis as they also use them.
This outfit is like a credit reporting agency only for vehicle accidents and claims. I will be seeking legal counsel tomorrow as I am now stuck with Geico at the higher rate until I deal with this LexisNexis outfit. I have an At-Fault accident online which is false and derogatory. I have never been in an accident or have any driving infractions as well as being almost 60. I have only ever filed this one claim in all those years. I suggest you check your current auto insurance carrier to see if they report to LexisNexis. Check them out online as 1000s are having to deal with this issue as well as other wrong information. Geico's customer service seems to think I should deal with this company myself and will do nothing.

We called Geico to add a driver but did not realize that by requesting this, we were not going to get a quote first, so the rep added our driver at a cost per month we thought was too much. When we declined to add him at this time (as he was a young driver and had not been driving for at least three years) and decided to wait, she informed us we could not do that. Apparently they had to request a record from the DMV that would cost Geico (again, not informed about this) and so he then had to be kept on the policy. She said we could take him off if a letter with our company's letterhead was sent with a request to the email she was going to forward to us. We never got the email and so I called back in and was given an email address to send the letter. I sent the letter and never received a response.
Nothing came to my attention until a day or two later when the total prorated sum of the additional driver was removed from out checking account. Again, not something explained to us as I was told it would come out monthly until our policy renewed in January 2020. I called today and explained to them that since none of this was ever authorized by me I was going to seek legal action. They removed the driver and said we would get a bank check with the refunded amount (less the three days that lapsed between our "adding" our driver and today) in 3-4 weeks!!
We have had Geico for over a decade both with our personal and commercial vehicles and are beyond speechless at the lack of communication and explanations provided by the several customer service agents with whom we dealt. We were not told in advance about the three years with the first agent, and with the second she never even forwarded us that the rate would be higher as he was considered an "unverified" driver, being that he had not been driving for 3 years. Then we were charged without our consent. We feel Geico took advantage of the situation, even to the extreme of feeling they tried to steal from us. We are extremely disappointed and will be looking elsewhere.

I have the worst experience with Geico. I passed through a lot of stress because of them and their fraud tactics. In June while I was driving in route 287 NJ , a foreign object (wheel) comes from the other side of the highway and hits my front bumper. I was panicked at the moment and decided to call Geico. I started a claim and told them everything happened but after I saw that it was just a scratch after a few minutes I call them back to cancel the claim.
Now In October when my renewal bill came in my house it was increased by more than $200. Stressed out I call claim department and I speak to this supervisor in there; his name was Mathew. They have listed that accident as my fault which is not true and they denied to show me the call I made in June the day that accident occurred. I didn’t make a police report since there was no damage in my car and I couldn’t verify where that wheel came from. I didn’t use Geico to fix that scratch or anything. This supervisor Mathew from claim department was very rude and he told me I cannot prove anything and I don’t stand a chance against a big company as Geico. First he said they record all the phone calls but once I requested to hear my first call made the day of accident he said they didn’t record it. They have manipulated what I said in the first call therefore they don’t want to show it to me. I Wish nobody passes the stress I am passing this days.

I gave them the quote number and they said there were issues finding it in their system. They wanted me to give them the information again but I did not. Then, without any input from me, they offered a policy around 100.00 higher. Obviously they could find the previous quote but wanted to get a little extra money. After 13 years with Geico I had a minor fender bender in a parking lot. The other driver involved had no driver's license & their insurance was expired. I have full coverage. Geico decided to put me 100% at fault and cover all the damages "to make life easier for everybody so we can all just move on". Um. No. Now my insurance rates go up for an at fault accident & why do I have to pay for someone else's damages just because I'm responsible & have the coverage? I tried to appeal the decision just to be ignored. I complained to the supervisor for them not to call me back or respond.
I got a 2nd opinion & was advised this isn't standard procedure for these types of accidents & that they can't continue against my wishes but they are anyway. Now I'm fighting with my insurance company, who should be fighting for me! Apparently they are great with small stuff, chips, tows, etc. Just not accidents. That's when they screw their customers over. I've called & called but no one ever calls me back. They are ignoring my requests. They ignored my request for info on the appeals process. I can’t even begin to explain how heartbreaking my experience has been with Geico. I have an auto policy and homeowners policy with them. I bought a new vehicle when I was 9 months pregnant because I desperately needed a 3rd row (couldn’t fit 3 car seats in my other car). So I bought a 2016 Ford Explorer and added to my auto policy. While I was in the hospital delivering my son, Geico removed the collision insurance from my plan because they didn’t get copies of the photo inspection. Never called me to let me know. They thought a letter in the mail was sufficient and adequate customer service. Fast forward... I very unfortunately was in an accident and Geico denied my claim to protect my vehicle.
When I spoke with claims they encouraged me to contact the dealership to recover the photos from when I purchased my Explorer. I called the dealership, who got me in touch with their marketing team, who then got me in touch with their photographer, who amazingly provided 29 photos of every inch of my vehicle from when it was purchased. I submitted them all to Geico just so they could tell me they still won’t cover me. I am now $10k in credit card debt to cover the cost of repairs. It’s so heartbreaking that this company isn’t willing to do the right thing and take care of their customers. I will be canceling both of my policies and encouraging everyone I know for the rest of my life to ensure they are never subject to this type of cruelty.

Moved to another state, switched to Geico on 9/27/19 as new holder. Found out today 10/2/19 at 3 pm that Geico had a billing payment processing issue and cancelled my policy yesterday. (Meanwhile I received hard copy of policy and insurance card in the mail...yesterday.) NO phone call, text, email to let me know that they had a processing issue and that my policy would be cancelled, until phone call in the afternoon from my local insurance agent who transferred me over to main Geico. To reinstate/restart, my rate increased +$100. Annoying and unethical practice!
But most disturbing and alarming is the fact that I was NOT notified until this afternoon that my policy had cancelled yesterday, so I was driving this morning WITHOUT insurance, unbeknownst to me. To make matters worse, when I called to get details and to reinstate, their customer service was nonexistent/unprofessional. I was told they didn't have to notify me by email regarding billing issues or "nonpayment" unless I was set up for e-bill pay.
First, why would I do that if I set up my policy to be paid in full? Also, since I switched over on 9/27, they've been sending me emails and texts regarding docusign paperwork to be sent back to them, but NOTHING regarding payment issues? Then agent told me that if I had been a returning customer, I would have been notified, but since I was a new customer, I wasn't. Huh? (And not a great way to win over new customers!) The kicker: I asked for agent's and supervisor's names, including last names. And his reply? Something to the effect - "Oh, we don't give out last names because we had problems with "crazy people"." Yes, I do feel "crazy" to have chosen Geico as my auto insurance carrier!

At no fault of my own, my car was hit in a parking lot when I was in a store. Upon filing a claim with Geico and being assured I could go to "any body shop I wanted", I was notified that my preferred body shop - one that was certified for my car manufacturer and used quality new parts - cost more than the allowable rates for the area. While other body shops - that state they use refurbished aftermarket parts - allow $46 per hour in labor, my body shop that is certified and uses new parts charge $50/hour. Geico would only pay the claim at the $46/hour rate. While they argued this was "fair and reasonable for the market" - my body shop provided over 40 pages of claims paid by other insurance companies at the $50/ hour rate.
I was left to pay the difference in rates between what Geico would allow and what my body shop would charge. Definitely not in the spirit of coverage of "you can pick any body shop you'd like" for the repairs. In addition, Geico arbitrarily cut off my rental car benefits with no notice, leaving me to have to pay for the additional days while the car was being serviced. We switched our auto insurance from State Farm to Geico several years ago, but left our home owner. In April of 2019 we bought our daughter a 2015 Toyota, and decided to switch our home owners insured when we insured her vehicle. Maybe a week after the purchase we had a terrible hail storm. My husband caught a lot of grief from the Geico team about proof of purchase etc. We purchased the car outright and had yet to receive the title from the state. This is the proof they requested. We didn’t turn in our home since we had just switched. A couple months later we had another very bad hail storm. We turned in our roof, after we had a local, well known roofing company inspect it. He said there was definitely damage, and recommend we turn in a claim.
The contract inspector Geico sent out was rude, said our shingles were defective and it would be up to the shingle manufacturer to do something. He would not write up our roof. He did however give us money on our deck and windows, which we didn’t turn in. They’ve been damaged for years, nothing to do with the storm, and we were in the process of removing our deck for replacement anyway. He turned in a claim for approximately 2 grand which was denied as our deductible is 7 grand. We live in a small town. Everyone knows everyone else. The roofer didn’t lie. He can’t afford to be shady in such a small community.
We have contacted Geico and explained the situation, requested a new inspection. Houses all around us have gotten new roofs, the hail season this year was very bad. We’ve lived here since 2011, and never had a claim on our vehicles or our home. They have ways of knowing that. I regret the switch, and will work on going back. Before we moved to our current town we had Progressive. Had a brand new truck for two days and a bad hail storm. We got no guff from them. Had two vehicles fixed and our roof. I think that was around 2007, so 12 years since we’ve had vehicle or home claims. Wish we’d never gone with Geico!

I had my previous co. for over 25 years, each year my rate was raised. Switching to Geico saved my 86.00/month, with the exact same coverage. No issues yet, so I can't determine if it's better, but the payment is surely better.

Geico does not work with customers on easily reinstating policies when they have lapsed for non payment. My boyfriend is a veteran, a senior citizen, and was the victim of an unlawful business practice on a used car that cost him thousands resulting in an inability to pay the insurance on the lemon he purchased. Rather than reinstate, Geico is requiring 6 months upfront for one missed payment. This practice is in-law and does not reflect the fiduciary duty imposed upon an insurance company as defined by Ca law and 9th Circuit Court of Appeals precedent.

It's hard to tell just how good they are if you don't need to use them. The bill constantly goes up annually, even when there is no accidents. Unfortunately for me this is a bill that I pay monthly and unless I get into an accident I don't really know if the company I have is any good.

Geico offered me the best rate but don't sign up online, go through a local agent who will offer you a better rate. I haven't had a chance to use them for any claims, thankfully. So I don't know how they would be.

Have had Geico for over 20 years. Every 6 months or so I get quotes from other companies. Geico has always, always, always beat out all other competitors including the top 3 Progressive, Allstate and USAA. I've only had to file one claim and that was in 2002 during a snowstorm, a fender bender. The claim was handled quickly and professionally with absolutely no issues for me or the other vehicle owner.

Great insurance! Beside 3 cars I insured 3 apartments and one house with GEICO which makes everything cheaper and more adorable. Their customer service is great and ready to help at any moment either with claim, discount or any inform you need. I am with Geico for a long time. Ten years ago I did tried different insurance and I was very disappointed. Since then Geico is there for me and I completely trust them.

Very nice agents. When I first checked their prices, I was surprised at how reasonable they were. So I decided to switch. Within 3 billing cycles, I was paying the same thing as I was before I switched. That made me wonder if there isn't a little bit of bait and switch going on. Now I probably will check rates somewhere else when it comes time to renew.

Just don’t raise rates when it’s time to renew for no reasons. Think for being a customer with them who is loyal and no claims the rate should go down not up. Thanks for the survey. Other than that they are a very good and professional company.

My experience with Geico has been okay overall. However, as with most insurance companies, things get very rocky if you need to actually need to use your insurance for what it is intended for. I would advise that you utilize their phone app as much as possible to avoid dealing with incompetent customers service representatives, as they have the tendency to only compound the problem(s) that you seek to rectify.

In my opinion, not just this insurance company but all the online insurance companies are a sham. This company didn't even have an office in my area. I'm not even sure where the closet one was located. The customer service is great, especially if you are looking for more coverage. Roadside assistance is very slow, I guess since they don't know the area at all. My coverage wasn't as good as I preferred but higher coverage was outrageously expensive. I'll stick with insurance companies with an office in my area.

We have 9 vehicles. As a small business, we were looking for competitive rates. Our vehicles were not even listed in their selection. Substandard vehicles for our business we provide and services we provide. Geico, as much money as you make, get competitive and get updated vehicle information. Substandard service. Could not list "other vehicle" per your option without so many errors. Such a waste of time. You, Geico, based on my experience, deserve a negative 10 rating.

They're okay of an insurance company not your perfect fit. They could lower their prices somewhat and give you better coverage for your money. Their roadside assistance could offer better and more thorough coverage. There are so many insurance companies to choose from and there are a lot of them out there that charge less than Geico but Geico is pretty good for what they offer but it could always be better.

I will be with Geico forever. I have used State Farm, Farmers, Allstate, Mercury it seems like they were 100 percent in their interest instead of me the customer. The company I left was Allstate. My car got damaged from two sides. The inspector said it was impossible. He said I had to make two claims which two deductibles so I said fine. Geico gave me better coverage and price over AAA. I was with AAA for over 33 years. I liked Geico's Representative, as they offered me more choices for coverage on my camper as well as my car. And they convinced me to increase my coverage to have better insurance to fit my needs. I hope that switching to Geico was as a good move. AAA didn't even ask me why I cancelled after 33 years. I shopped around for the best rate for minimal coverage. The process for Geico was quick and easy on my smartphone. They auto-filled most of my info and the entire process took only 10 minutes. They also have a polished Android app which allows you to make changes, get emergency assistance, and view policy cards. I haven't had to file a claim so cannot comment on how that works.

I've been working on improving my credit scores through Credit Karma. My score went up 70 points! They recommended asking insurance company if I was eligible for lower premium. I called and asked, she put me on hold, came back and said "The premium would increase $160." I said, "Well never mind." She says she can't change it back. She had credit pulled already. I reacted badly. And yelled. At No Point did she say anything about checking my credit. That's a written policy. I asked for Sup. She requested the call recording. Unfortunately, that call wasn't recorded. Can't change it...Won't change it. Geico's mistake. A big one. So I cancelled my policy and switched to another carrier. Next step, Virginia SCC.
