Subject: Horrendous Experience with Geico Roadside Assistance – Unacceptable Conduct from Supervisor Courtney (Employee ID: **) and Multiple Representatives. I am beyond appalled by the disgraceful treatment I received from Geico Roadside Assistance. Over the course of an absolutely agonizing experience, I was forced to speak with nine different representatives, each more unwilling and unhelpful than the last. What transpired is nothing short of a complete and utter failure of Geico’s customer service. The most egregious encounter was with Supervisor Courtney (Employee ID: **), whose conduct was shockingly unprofessional, rude, and dismissive. Not only did she lack any semblance of courtesy, but her demeanor was condescending and outright hostile. Even my mechanic, who was present during our conversation, was appalled by her tone and referred to her as sounding "uneducated."

This is not a subjective assessment—it was clear to anyone involved that this individual was utterly ill-equipped to handle even the most basic level of customer service, let alone hold a supervisory position. In addition to Supervisor Courtney’s reprehensible behavior, the representatives I spoke with made false claims repeatedly, refused to provide any real assistance, and ultimately left me stranded without the support I had paid for as part of my insurance policy. Despite promises of callbacks and escalations, not a single representative followed through, further compounding the frustration and making it painfully clear that no one was interested in resolving my issue.

This entire ordeal smacks of gross negligence and potential bad faith in Geico’s handling of their contractual obligations. The treatment I endured is not just a matter of poor customer service; it raises serious concerns about Geico’s adherence to the standards of good faith and fair dealing, as required by law in handling customer claims. The fact that I had to call repeatedly, only to be met with indifference and outright rudeness, is completely unacceptable. The way your company has mishandled this situation has not only caused extreme inconvenience but has also eroded any trust or confidence I once had in Geico as a service provider.

I demand immediate rectification of this matter and a formal apology for the way I was treated. Failure to address this will leave me with no option but to pursue further legal remedies, including filing formal complaints with regulatory bodies and considering legal action for breach of contract and failure to act in good faith. This experience is a warning to anyone considering Geico’s roadside assistance or their insurance services. What I encountered was nothing short of a systemic breakdown in customer service and a blatant disregard for the well-being of their customers.

I have had GEICO auto insurance since at least 2017, and even had my homeowner's insurance with them for a short time. I called GEICO today (after struggling for several minutes with their website trying to find a phone number) to ask a policy question, and after being in prompt hell for a few minutes, I was politely advised that my estimated wait time was 40 minutes. I hung up. I went to their website to find a way to get an answer to my question relating to coverage of a rental car out of state if it should break down, or I got in a collision. The only FAQ article that related to my question referred me to policy documents. I was a paralegal for 25 years, and I read "policy documents" and the US Bankruptcy Code for a living, two categories of documents that are written backwards and sideways --on purpose-- and I'm retired now.

I just want a human being who is knowledgeable with my auto policy to explain to me, as if I were six years old, whether my policy provides any coverage to me while driving a rental car and, if so, what coverage it would provide. I still have not received an answer to my question. I just want to say that not every matter a customer (of at least 7 consecutive years) contacts GEICO with can be solved by an AI chatbot or a list of FAQs. Sometimes, they need a human being with knowledge and experience who can answer their call and give them the information or assistance they seek. I guess that's asking too much of corporate America. The C suite thinks automated phone answering systems and chatbots can replace humans? See how long that works for you. See how much loyalty that buys you.

Their customer service is an absolute nightmare—rude, unhelpful, and completely unprofessional. I was left on hold for ages, only to be spoken to like I was an inconvenience. This company does not care about its customers at all. It’s clear they are only interested in taking your money without delivering on their promises. Stay far away from Geico—this was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had with an insurance company. Avoid at all costs!

Geico used to be a good company. But in the C suite's quest to fire all their human CSRs (and get fatter bonuses), they force customers to deal with a very inflexible robot via phone or chat. A customer is forced to choose among very basic menu options, none of which relate to the reason for contacting Geico. Then when you finally get the bot to agree to let you work with a human CSR, you are placed at #97 in line. Geico sucks.

We had been with SF for many, many years, but our premiums kept going up (even with no at-fault accidents, and aging vehicles). We shopped for rates online and went with Geico. I paid for six months premium, up-front, for four vehicles. During the application process, on the section concerning driving, I mentioned that our son would sometimes be driving out of state (when he took a car to school). A few weeks later Geico sent me a questionnaire about this. I answered saying that it was occasional, but that the vehicle was most often garaged at home and registered here. A few more weeks later Geico sent me an email saying "Welcome to Kentucky" (the state where my son went to school).

The email also advised me to throw away our old plates, once we had re-registered the car. They had opened an out-of-state policy without consulting me. I called the 800 number and was advised that was a mistake. The out-of-state policy was canceled and the car moved back to our original policy. A couple of weeks later - they did it again. This was resulting in a significantly higher premium and a policy in a state we did not reside in. I called again and was basically told "We are doing this and you will pay more". I canceled all of our Geico policies and with Progressive (same price Geico had quoted originally). Geico says we owe them $90 for the out-of-state policy they opened without our consent, and are threatening to send us to collections (impacting our credit). I do not recommend Geico at all.

But after getting 2 tickets, they decided to cancel my policy without notifying me!! Only for me to find out after receive letters from DMV that I have gap of insurance for 2+ months and must pay $8 per day because of this. Their phone system doesn't work and simply hangs up on you when you call to speak with a live agent. Their online chat person would not give me a supervisor but kept on pushing me to reinstate my policy at 2.5x higher rate. Horrible company, I can't believe this is how they treat a client of 15 years!!

Geico provided me a great rate to start but ended up pulling the rug from under me. Never having been involved in any accidents or fraudulent issues, Geico has decided to cancel my policy simply because I moved between getting the policy and completing their documentation. Their ACUTeam decided to ask for the info after giving me the policy and despite mentioning in the email response that I had moved and so my lease is of the new apartment, they now believe I lied to them and have "suggested" I look for another insurance carrier. Customer service always "understands" but keeps saying they cant do anything. Just a horrible experience.

Geico used to be great, I've had them for a long time, they raised the price of my auto policy to almost double what it was, and claimed it was because the price of parts went up (new insurance I found through Progressive is the same as my old policy was). I canceled both auto and homeowners and they took 4 months to cancel the homeowners claiming I didn't send the documentation in, even though I did multiple times and even tried sending other documents just in case. I tried getting a fax number to send it that way and they wouldn't give me one. The policy was never supposed to be renewed and they took 4 months to cancel it, in the beginning, they didn't respond at all, I had to pay extra to my mortgage because it looked like I had 2 homeowners insurance policies. Worst customer service, no one had an answer, some said it was all set and it wasn't. I would never ever recommend them to anyone. Ever.

I would definitely not recommend Geico to anyone seeking recommendations for auto insurance. After spending an exorbitant amount of time on the phone with customer service, and being reassured by two different agents that my claim was fully covered, and the auto body shop having my husband’s car for nearly a week waiting to begin the work, Geico at the very last second informed me that my claim wouldn’t be covered.

We’ve wasted so much time with the car sitting at the shop and so much time going back and forth with them on the phone, and they’ve been nothing short of a nightmare. I’m not sure what kind of business can get away with telling a customer TWICE that something is covered and then just randomly backing out at the last second but it’s certainly not one that I’ll continue giving my money to. Now I have the pleasure of spending the day searching for new auto insurance because this isn’t a matter of policy, it’s a matter of failing to deliver on a promise that was made by TWO different employees and a “manager” stepping in and reneging at the last second. This company is unreliable and dishonest, AT BEST.

This is extremely frustrating and feels like I’m being punished for being a good driver. Insurance is supposed to provide peace of mind, but instead, I’m left feeling taken advantage of. The rates have become so expensive that it’s no longer feasible to continue with this company. I will be switching to a different insurer and will never consider GEICO again. I strongly advise others to be cautious before choosing GEICO – you might end up paying a lot more than you expect.

Geico is terrible and no help at all!! I had a financial difficulty and had to stop my auto pay. They told me to call in the next week to make the payment and re start auto pay back to my normal schedule, which I did EXACTLY as I was told. I make a $273 payment for the month of June on 6/13 on 6/21 I got a notification that another payment of $273 was needed and due by 7/3 pending cancellation! I CALLED GEICO the same day I received this notification to clarify I made my June payment of $273 and that I was up to date and back on my payment schedule with auto pay…. THEY CONFIRMED that I was up to date and that the notice “was a mistake” on their end and to “ignore”!

Fast forward to 7/03/24 my policy apparently was cancelled. I didn’t realize until 7/7/24 and IMMEDIATELY called to ask what was going on and was put on hold multiple times and was on the phone a total of 3 hours!!! Every person I talked to said the original lady LIED and stated there were no notes and they can not reinstate my policy. They could see my phone calls but not what was “said” and all they can see is that the cancellation notice was sent! I decided to just cancel my policy with geico and switch to Progressive. It’s now 8/27/24 and the DMV just called to say that geico reported cancelled insurance and I have to pay a 4 day lapse of $125!!!! I called geico again today with no help and being told there is nothing I can do! Geico does not have a policy that all notes must be done or that a call is attached to a name apparently. PLEASE DO NOT GO WITH GEICO. I was a loyal customer and this happened!

⭐☆☆☆☆ The customer service at Geico Insurance Company has been an absolute nightmare. I recently called to correct an error with my VIN number that was made by Geico, and the experience has been nothing but frustrating from the very beginning. The representatives I spoke with were rude and dismissive, showing little interest in helping me resolve the issue or cancel my coverage. It took an unreasonable amount of time just to get someone to address the incorrect VIN, and even then, they asked me to call back later to confirm if it had been fixed.

When I followed up a week later, the issue was still unresolved. They provided me with incorrect information that ultimately led to my policy being canceled. To make matters worse, when I logged in today to check, I found that my policy is still active. I called again to request cancellation and asked the agent to prorate the refund from the original date of my first call two weeks ago. However, she claimed there was no record of me ever contacting them to cancel my policy. This level of incompetence and lack of accountability is unacceptable.

What’s worse is that there’s no clear communication between their departments, so I found myself explaining my situation over and over again to different agents, none of whom seemed to be on the same page. I’ve wasted countless hours on the phone, only to be left with more questions than answers. It’s clear that Geico Insurance Company doesn’t value their customers at all. Save yourself the headache and avoid this company at all costs.

Stay away from GEICO, they only care about getting their monthly premiums. Their customers come very last. I have been struggling financially for the past few months. I was diagnosed with Cancer late last year and now I need to have further surgery. I have been paying my health insurance co-pays for many, many tests which has drained my finances in a bad way. I am behind $ 200.94 with my car insurance and am currently on their Cancellation Notice list. I called them today and asked them if I could pay what I owe on Sept. 3rd which is less than 2 weeks away. They said that there was nothing they could do to help me and even went as far to tell me that I could call them back on the 3rd to pay what I owe and reinstate my policy. That would mean I would be driving without insurance for the next 13 days which, if I recall is ILLEGAL. An insurance company is telling me this, I just about dropped the phone.

So, in summary and as I outlined earlier this insurance company does not give a damn about us as customers. They only care about gathering up their premiums each month and have a total disregard for their customers and what their customers must be facing personally. It truly makes me wonder how they treat their customers that have homeowners insurance because that can be worse when you are dealing with a fire, break in, etc. Do your homework and search around before even thinking about signing on with Geico. Also, their rates tend to be on the high side so be wary of that as well.

Don’t ask for a supervisor because they will say no supervisor is available and will send message for one to call you back. Only for you to hear the agent talking to the supervisor cause she forgot to mute the call. GEICO claims they send correspondence out properly but that’s false. They will ensure your bill arrives via email and usps but information that is important definitely won’t get that. My policy was cancelled by the underwriting team because I didn’t verify the address where the vehicle is located.

I never received email nor usps mail regarding this information. I received all every bill though. The quote I was quoted wasn’t the quote I had. I’ve been back and forth going on day 8 and day 11 without car insurance. Still no update. I was even told by an agent maybe you need to just look for another insurance company. I was hit by another driver while at a stop light. Geico had the vehicle taken to their chosen repair shop. The repair shop then did not actually look into the full damages. After waiting for the vehicle parts that they had identified as needing repair did they "notice" that the frame of the vehicle would need to be replaced. Seriously, the guy who hit me went under the bumper and hit the rear tire and broke the leaf spring, which is/was attached to the frame. Yes, they missed that to start with. Geico eventually decided to total the vehicle, but they never communicated that to me or even the repair shop. They simply stopped paying for the rental vehicle, but they never said anything. The rental car company told me that Geico was not going to be paying starting tomorrow. Oh, great! I get to pay for that because I am leaving town tomorrow.

In the approximately 30 years with Geico covering my vehicles, I have had two claims (this one and one back 20 plus years ago). Yet, Geico cannot call me back, cannot actually get the vehicle information correct, cannot update the claim status in their mobile app, cannot send anything accurate or coherent in writing, provided Zero proactive communication, and it takes forever to speak with a human and that person can only take a message. Make Sure That You ask to add a supervisor on each call/message!!!! I called at least four times and only on the last one, where I asked for the supervisor of the supervisor to be added, was it responded to. Ridiculously poor customer service - essentially non-existent!!

After I called Geico and left at least 4 messages asking for them to call me about the vehicle, I finally got a terse and only partially informative call from a person who was Not my adjuster. It has been such a horrible experience that I have terminated coverage by Geico and have transferred coverage of the new vehicle to another company. The good news is that I am saving money on my insurance by firing them. The bad news is that because they are so incompetent, I had to go get another vehicle with only a couple of days notice and with me paying to rent the vehicle to go get another vehicle. Any insurance company that does not immediately declare bankruptcy because of your accident can provide better customer service and will pay better and faster.

Do not risk it. Trust me. Just don’t. Horrible business practices even if cheaper. We had been with USAA for over 18 years and with teenagers it was expensive. We wanted to save a buck - and since we were accident free and had great credit, we did by switching to GEICO. Unfortunately my husband promptly backed into a car in a parking lot - His fault and I was very annoyed but his car was not impacted at all. Minor freak thing that happened to occur right when coverage started and I would have paid out of pocket - but the guy wanted to go through insurance. Fine.

GEICO did not just raise the rates it CANCELED US - no phone call - just an email in MY SPAM FOLDER - I figured it out because of a credit on my card! Despite it being the only incident on our record (in two decades) and paying in full - no warning and no appeal. So we were left scrambling - We went back to our more expensive USAA but it’s worth EVERY SINGLE penny given they are honest - Oh and gave us a good driver discount. These people are evil - GEICO is the worst customer service experience I have ever had. Just horrible.

After I canceled they stuck me with a charge of 160 dollars for canceling before the end of the 6 month policy (I was 4 months into it). I was told to refer to page 500 something of their disclosures. I don’t care if it’s legal in certain states or not, it’s shady. Do yourself a favor and avoid GEICO. They have gone downhill in the past few years.

I am writing in regards to a call for a claim and being spoken down to and disciplined by one of your representatives. I have my insurance through Geico and recently purchased my first new vehicle in 10 years. I woke up this morning to my tires being stolen off my vehicle and having to miss work and call the police. I have since called Geico as I am currently insured to follow the right procedures. Upon calling customer service, I was notified there was an error made, and the affidavit I have and uploaded with my policy and car on it was not corrected. I offered to pay the difference if there was one due to the change not being properly made. I was then informed that I would have to call and have the new vehicle added and that they would contact me for the claim and policy.

I followed up on the claim as I have paid for rental reimbursement and am trying to arrange transportation for my rental car so I don’t miss another day of work. Upon speaking to the representative, they stated that even though I had paid in full, and have insurance with Geico, they would not honor my claim and that there was nothing they could do for me except make me pay more money.

I tried to speak to a supervisor, they stated they would check and get back to me. After another follow up, I was told they would only refund me part of what I paid, and only maybe, it would take 24-48 hours for them to let me know. I asked to speak to the supervisor because I need a vehicle and pay for insurance and a policy for this reason and am in current financial good standing. The supervisor named Jessica in the claims department then gave me attitude and was speaking down to me despite several attempts to speak cordially and professionally describing the situation and my current paid status. I was not given the refund nor do I have any steps forward with this secondary theft of policy payment now from Geico. The supervisors have not called me back. I have, and continue to try to do the right thing, and am asking Geico to do the right thing as well.

After having the same policy for 2-3 years, Geico changed my policy without confirmation. Was forced to pay an outstanding 300 increase bill. After paying the bill, I asked if it would be okay to spend this money and get a new policy afterward. The agent said, "Yes if it is before the next payment date and you have an active new policy," confirming it would be okay. I called in on the 5th of April to cancel by phone (With Geroge) and email because I had a feeling they would try and screw me again on the required dates by phone and email that was already told to me.

Now Geico is sending an outstanding high bill to the collection when I again did everything they asked for and more. I have called in 3 times and have been consistently misused and disrespected with three different stories. They say all calls are recorded, but when asked to pull out the old recordings, they responded, "Because it passed 30 days, it was no longer available." Before that, he said he had listed the phone call and that the agent never said that! (No Name provided) The end of the phone call, clearly as day, I asked him if he could transfer me to some high-up him to help me since no help was being provided.... he then offered to pass the phone around and let his worker tell me the same thing.

I informed me that I had to pay the total amount and that the policy was called on April 25, not April 5th (I have an email and agent ID Number to prove it). When I provided all the info and email confirmation, they said it didn't matter, and I still owed money! Get your business together ... This is very disrespectful and I talked to Brinana and George (ID Number **) & more with all the transferring and disconnection.

Purchased my car in 2021, set up auto insurance through Geico, they offered the save and drive program (it’s a scam don’t do it, pay more for the freedom and privacy of not having a Geico follow you around). Anyway. I set my auto-pay up with them when I purchased a policy and I never looked back everything was fine. I’ve never had a reason to call them I’ve never needed anything. I’ve never missed a single payment.

I lost my debit card last month and while I was waiting on the new card (took two weeks) they notified me that they couldn’t process the payment and if I didn’t pay by a certain date my policy would get canceled for non payment. When I got my new card I immediately called Geico (before the date that the policy was set to cancel), to pay my overdue balance and put the new card on file and on auto-pay. I had no issues at that time, the associate said my account was in good standing and that I wouldn’t need to do anything else, I even received letters from Geico the following few days congratulating me on signing up for auto bill pay and letting me know I didn’t need to do anything everything is taken care of.

Thursday, the mail comes. This letter from Geico looks different. It’s got a red borderline and I’m thinking this doesn’t look good. The letter reads that my policy was cancelled on the 10th due to non payment. So I’ve been unknowingly driving without insurance for days! I checked my bank to see if the money had been taken out and it hadn’t so now I’m panicking.

I call Geico… (on hold the first time for almost an hour before reaching a human), the associate tells me there’s nothing they can do and they have to start me a new policy. Then the policy she quotes me is 500 dollars more for the year in premium and she demanded I pay 380 dollars up front. This was late at night and not their best customer service hours so I called back in the morning. (40 mins on hold before reaching a human) I get someone around 7am who says they do have a record of me calling days before the policy cancelled and it does look like my payment information was updated, but they couldn’t see that I made a payment (because I didn’t, I asked to make a payment prior to cancelation but for whatever reason whoever was working on my account in Bangladesh didn’t understand that I wanted to make a payment and because of the language barrier she just added my new card, but I thought I was making a payment).

Anyway. The guy says they’ll need to call me back when they find the recorded call to listen and make sure I was calling to make a payment and then they would reinstate my old policy. I never got called back, it was hours and hours and hours. So I called back (on hold for over an hour this time) finally get someone who wants to help but then passes me on to a supervisor because of everything that’s going on. The supervisor looks into the matter and they track the call logs… Well guess what? Conveniently, that phone call I made to pay my bill was never recorded, allegedly, so basically they state again that there’s nothing they can do and they can’t make the new policy the same cost as my old policy and they won’t reinstate my old policy, but they’ll have a manager (someone above the supervisor call me back) nobody called me back.

My policy had just been renewed for a cheaper rate for being a safe driver and having paid on time every single month since I’ve been using Geico, I personally believe they did have a recording, they knew they messed up, but saw an opportunity to raise my rates and charge me more. I called one more time last night around 5pm, I was on hold without reaching a human for an hour and a half. After explaining my situation they said a supervisor would call me back. So I asked the lady, how long does that take because people keep saying supervisors and managers are going to call me back and no one calls me? She said it will take 48hrs to up to 72hrs. I let her know I can’t wait that long to have insurance I need to be able to drive my car.

I get transferred to a supervisor; his name is Donavon and his work ID is # **. Donavan proceeds to tell me that he has the ability to press a button and fix all of my issues, but that he won’t because and I quote “Im not paid by you I’m paid by Geico and I represent Geico’s guidelines we’re not here to serve customers and unless you have proof you made the payment we’re going to quote you a new policy that costs more or you can go somewhere else”. Absolutely horrendous customer service. You could “hear him smiling” on the other side like he was enjoying listening to me becoming upset. Incredibly disgusting behavior and he should never work in customer service again. He told me that no managers were in until Monday and I would have to call the 1800 number to reach them. This entire experience has been disgusting and sad and caused me a lot of emotional pain dealing with this.

Seriously do yourself a favor and NEVER use this company. It’s great when everything is working albeit expensive, but as soon as anything goes wrong…. They do not care about you as a customer. Geico (in their words) is not a customer service company. I’m begging you. Give your hard earned money to a company that cares.

I have been paying for GEICO emergency roadside service for years. When my car did alongside a major highway at night, they refused to provide any service, and eventually ignored the request because they could not reach a tow truck or service worker, leaving me in an unsafe situation and stranded at night/alone/female. There is no point to having/paying for the roadside assistance if they will not attend to stranded motorists.

Incident: My car died at 11:30pm on Hwy 101 last week and it took me 10-15 minutes to get ahold of a GEICO representative. The call then got cut off and there was no call back. 10 minutes later I was able to reconnect with her and she told me that she couldn't find anyone to offer me assistance because no one answered the phone. I asked her to keep trying or expand her call list for the area, because at this point it was midnight and I was by myself stranded on the side of the highway (alone, female). I told her I would wait for her to try again, and asked her to call me back since I was waiting with no other option. I also filled out the app that GEICO sends you to identify your location.

I was in an area with full cellular reception and could see on Google that there was a town 5 minutes away, cities/towns 20 minutes away, and a major city only 40 minutes away. The GEICO dispatcher/representative never called me back and I never heard anything back from GEICO since placing the emergency roadside service request. You never know if an insurance company is good, until there's a claim. Geico is horrible! I have been insured with Geico for years and have always carried collision. I recently moved to Michigan from Pennsylvania and called in to change to a Michigan policy, and I requested the exact same coverage that I had in PA. On Tuesday 5/28/2024 I had an accident and called Geico immediately to report the claim. I was stunned when the claims person told me that my collision wouldn't be covered, my rental car wouldn't be covered and my towing wouldn't be covered. I pay for all of these things! The claims person then informed me that I have something called "limited collision" and that any accident deemed at fault would not be covered. I had no knowledge of something called limited collision, as Pennsylvania (and most other states) don't even have such a ridiculous thing.

As a side note, if you go to the Geico website to build or change your own policy the "limited collision" option isn't even available. Then I asked for a copy of my voice signature to prove that I didn't request this "coverage" and was informed that they don't retain them. I believe 7 years is the document retention requirement. That day I was essentially forced to sell my car to the tow yard for $100 plus the towing fee, and because I was told I had no rental coverage I had to make a hasty decision on another vehicle, spending most all of the money in my account. The point here is that I couldn't afford to be off work, and I couldn't afford to lose all of my money. I had limited my financial exposure to risk with insurance, or so I thought.

Over the next two days I called Geico multiple times. In that process I discovered that the initial claims agent incorrectly told me that my towing insurance was void. That information in and of itself would have completely changed my course of action and caused me to NOT sell my vehicle to the tow yard rather than have it repaired or towed to my home. I am going to sue Geico for not only the claim, but also for deceitful business practices and anguish. This company has turned horrible!

So I went online to find cheaper car insurance. GEICO had the lowest rate so I switched to them. The biggest mistake I ever made. Two billing payments after I switched they raised my rates by 200 a month!!!! I have had bad luck two years ago. Someone hit my car while driving causing me to have a roll over and totaling my car. It was their fault. I was not at fault then one year later a tornado hit Little Rock totaling my car. Again not my fault. I reported both of these had happened and neither were my fault. Well GEICO said, "Your driving record came in and it showed the wreck and tornado" which they already knew about and raised my rates.

I’m now having to look for a different insurance company. I was told by another insurance company that GEICO is known for doing this so I would seriously not do business with them if you’re looking for car insurance or at least make sure you talk to an agent. I’ll never do GEICO again and will make sure my family and friends know to stay clear of them.

Geico shorted us our claim by several thousands of dollars and there is nothing you can do about it. They refuse to pay the labor rates for a semi decent shop. If you have to file a claim through geico you can count on a poor quality repair shop doing the work because no one else will do it for the rates they pay out. We are canceling our policy and moving onto something with better coverage.

Dealing with insurance companies after an accident can be daunting, and unfortunately, my experience with GEICO, the insurer of the driver who rear-ended me, has been frustrating and deeply unsatisfactory. I was involved in an accident caused by a Geico-insured driver who attempted to deceive me at the scene by falsely claiming he was uninsured and withholding his contact information. This initial dishonesty should have been a straightforward issue for Geico to address; however, their handling of the claims process has only compounded my difficulties.

From the outset, Geico's approach to my claim has been to systematically undervalue the damages. They offered a settlement for the diminished value of my vehicle that was egregiously low—thousands of dollars less than the market price for similar damages. Moreover, they have outright refused to compensate for other significant losses such as emotional distress and lost wages, despite clear evidence and documentation supporting these claims. This experience has exposed a concerning pattern of behavior by Geico, suggesting a deliberate strategy to minimize their financial responsibility at the expense of individuals like myself who are simply seeking fair compensation. The lack of professional integrity and the dismissive attitude towards legitimate claims have been disheartening.

For anyone who might find themselves dealing with Geico in the future, be prepared and cautious. My encounter has shown that their commitments can fall short when it truly matters. The ordeal of having to fight for a fair claim settlement has added unnecessary stress and frustration to what was already a challenging time. This review serves as a warning based on my personal experience with Geico’s claims process. It's a situation I hope others can avoid. If you ever have to deal with Geico, be vigilant and prepared to stand firm for what is justly yours.

Absolute joke of an auto insurance company…My wife and I switched over to Geico 3 years ago after I just totaled my car in an accident. They knew me and my wife’s driving history prior to getting us on board. She had one minor fender bender and a hit and run while her car was parked on her history, I had the one accident as well just explained…Well here we are 3 years later and I get a letter stating they are terminating our policy, when I called them they said it was due to our driving history. Mind you we have never had an accident while with Geico, and only used the roadside service a few times due to the terrible roads and potholes in NY. My wife had one ticket she got in February that’s all.

So basically they were cool to set us up with a new policy but then tried to use the same incidents that they already knew about upon setting us up against us 3 years later to terminate the policy??? Make it make sense. We have never missed a payment and are not young drivers both almost 40yrs old. Totally ridiculous how they make these decisions. Clown show of a company no loyalty. Shame on the underwriting team. Hit us with the bait and switch.

I was charged an extra 9 months for a vehicle I removed from the policy, but a website glitch didn't complete the transaction. I was unable to resolve the issue on the phone with customer service since they just follow scripts and cannot think for themselves. I also had the same problem in reverse where I swapped vehicles on the website and the transaction again did not go through. Luckily I caught it before driving with no insurance, but it has been a week where I cannot drive the vehicle I just purchased.

Now I had no coverage. I logged on and saw that I have option to continue my policy by paying about $400 more. I had no choice so paid. By looking in detail I found that the representative after removing the requested car refunded all the amount which I paid and then billed me 1431 after deduction of removed car. Since the lady admitted fault from the start, geico sent me reimbursement for my deductible before they even collected the payment from me. I was able to choose where I wanted my car to be repaired, without issues. I was very pleased with how fast they responded to everything. They answer the phones quickly and move fast. I didn’t feel like I was having to hunt them down and call repeatedly to get assistance. They called me when needing information.

I was recently dropped from their homeowners insurance due to high fire hazard zone. I went to another company for homeowners who told me that I’ll save $1k on home and auto if I switch to their auto and do a bundle. I decided, based on their awful auto insurance reviews, that I will stay with Geico auto. I know better that the company is offering me a lower fee for right now, but they’ll increase it on me as soon as I switch over. Don’t be fooled so easily! The geico roadside assistance wasn’t able to help me on the one time that I tried using it (flat tire on the freeway). They won’t respond on the freeway. I had to use AAA to come get me. So I’m sticking to Geico for auto, and keeping AAA home and for roadside. Geico has taken care of me, so I like having that piece of mind for when I need their services again.

In CA motorcycles are allowed to "split a lane" following certain guidelines, but it does not give motorcycles free passes to split lanes endangering other participants of traffic. So I was sideswiped at the intersection on my driver's side. The rider of the motorcycle claimed that I had begun to move into the next lane over, but at that intersection there was NO LANE OVER. So there was no lane for me to move into. In addition did he have 2 motorcycle tires loaded right behind the driver's seat, which impeded his balance. When I filed a claim with GEICO I was speaking with an agent who said "our insured" which is absurd since both parties were insured with GEICO, him and me as well. They decided it was nobody's fault. To me it looks that GEICO just refused to look into the incident further since they would need to pay me for the repairs.

I looked into it through the California Department Of Insurance who suggested a lawsuit which I did not file at the time. To me it looks very much like protecting their own financial interest almost to a fraudulent level and not looking into the circumstances properly, especially since we were both insured by GEICO. GEICO may be the country's largest and least expensive insurance provider but it all comes at a price at the end, definitely for the insured.

They started out as the cheapest company when I first got them but for the last 2 years this company has raised my rates the first year over 100 dollars and this year 6 dollars shy of 100 dollars. Plus I filed a claim with them in 2021 for minor damages to my car. They issued a check in mine and the finance company's name. I was never able to get it in the shop because I couldn’t get a rental and I couldn’t be without my car for 10 days.

I traded my car in last week and lost money on trade-in value of course. When I called them to let them know and to see if I could get the check reissued in just my name since the claim was never paid out and that the finance company had been paid off, they kept insisting that the car was still the finance companies and reissued the check-in both names again. I got way better rates with State Farm and this company stole 1500 from me because they still refuse to pay the claim since they say I no longer have the car, they don’t have to pay. Which is very wrong because I went upside down 4000 because of the damage. If you can at all go with legit insurance companies that do right by their customers. Keep away from this company.

I’m unemployed and tried finding a customer care number, nope they don’t help over the phone anymore. This company is a joke and a scam, all they want is money and don’t even care about the customer. Tried explaining my situation as I was willing to pay $200 to reinstate but nope they said if the website says $638 then that’s the correct amount. Geico even took money they weren't supposed to from me. They cancelled a policy that shouldn't have been cancelled...just sheer incompetence. Go to another company for your insurance needs. My car insurance policy went up over 300% in one month. In addition, the bill they sent had in a big font at the top of the page - "You will pay $156"- that was for the first month. Then the subsequent months went up to $475 per month. No explanation for the increase and a clearly deceptive presentation in the billing. In fact, it took me a couple of months to catch on. When I called GEICO, the person on the phone was very nice and sympathetic but said there was nothing they could do. She said it was not a reflection on our driving- no tickets or accidents- but they had a new underwriter. 300%- that is crazy. Of course, they have a right, I assume, to raise my auto insurance, but 300% with no explanation and an obvious effort to slide the increase by the consumer? We are done with GEICO and will be telling anyone who will listen about how they treated us.

Well I discovered Geico had omitted some options I have had for a long time after telling me I had them. I was given a huge explanation that less and less sense as it continued saying they did not have access to what my coverage was before and I had to itemize the coverage I wanted always before the agent would take the time to make sure I had everything I wanted. This time I ended up paying more for coverage I was led to believe I had. The Always mechanic, Lloyd, was wonderful: friendly, courteous and very competent.

I had to call on my Geico break-down insurance several months ago, too, when my car wouldn't start and they also dispatched Always Towing and Recovery and on that occasion, too, they arrived promptly, did an excellent job and were a pleasure to deal with. In the past, I used to dread using my Geico break-down insurance because the companies they sent were rude and didn't stand behind their work. Shortly thereafter they increased our insurance $300 more a month citing a previous claim that involved me scratching another car which they only increased our insurance less than 2 figures for that upon renewal in October. This should be illegal... They are attempting to get us to drop them or trying to recoup their losses... We dropped them immediately and even on the settlement we were severely low balled on a newer car that only had 47,000 mile...

Don't get Geico. Our rate should have stayed the same because the other driver was at fault. Geico has ZERO integrity. I feel like they purposely increased our insurance to us to drop them...SO UNETHICAL.. I was a customer of Geico for over 30 years and they were fantastic until 2021. We made a change in coverage that took months to get right. Then they unenrolled us in auto bill pay causing a lapse in insurance of a few days before we figured it out. Our licenses were suspended as a result. It took an act of congress to get it resolved with the DMV and cost $450 in fines. Six months later when the insurance renewed they sent a notice to the DMV that my husband’s coverage lapsed when it hadn’t. We are on the same policy and they could not explain why that happened. Another act of congress to fix it with the DMV but fortunately proof of insurance eliminated the fine.

Then when we added our teenager to the policy in 2023 they told us they could not cover us for that amount anymore. Too risky. That was it. I had enough and canceled my policy on 9/22 after signing with another company. I received a bill for $126.19 and thought it was a miss on my part so I paid it. On 10/20 we got a full refund because it was a mistake on their side. I have attached a photo of the refund. On 11/05 we got another bill for the same amount. I called, bounced around to several people and it was finally resolved as a mistake on their side. Now in March 2024 I get a letter from a collection agency for the same dollar amount (photo included). I have been on hold with Geico for 1 hour and 17 minutes trying to talk to a person to get this fixed AGAIN! I do not know what has happened to them in the last couple years. Prior to 2021 I would have given them 5 stars. After this I should give them 0. I would 100% not recommend them anymore.

I had been with Geico for years. Always had auto-pay set up, never once had an issue all the years I had been with them. No claims, no accidents, no tickets, nothing at all. I ran into a circumstance where I changed jobs, and it turned out the remote position I was supposed to be working was a sham. I wasted almost four weeks of my time, and didn't get paid a dime. It took another few weeks after that to find another job. I have multiple children, and have incurred a lot of expenses the last year, so money was already extremely tight.

It came time to pay my monthly payment to Geico, but I have $13 in my bank account (but in all actuality with credit cards, am in debt about $9,500 currently). I have a new job, but I'm not getting paid from them for another two weeks. After years of being with them, I simply asked for a two week extension. Despite years of loyalty to them, they refused. Zero sympathy, zero appreciation for my loyalty to them for all those years. All they cared about was getting their money.

So, I ended up calling Progressive, as I know they are their top competitor when it comes to great rates for good drivers. Progressive offered me a better rate, and gave me an offer to where I would pay when I got my first paycheck, but wouldn't have a lapse in coverage. I was so very, very appreciative of it, and so glad I called them.

Geico doesn't care about you. They don't care about how long you've been with them. They don't care about your circumstances. All they care about is your money. I strongly suggest you choose a different auto insurer, or whatever it is you're looking for from them, as I'd imagine all of their departments have the same company policy. If you have a good driving record and want great rates, my advice is check Progressive, not Geico.

A couple weeks later I get a letter from the DMV that my driver's license was suspended because they didn't submit the paperwork on time.

Contact them and they asked me "if I requested the documentation", which I certainly did. While on that conversation, I notice that my premium has doubled. It says that they sent me notifications, but they didn't. I asked why and the only answer I get is that when they got my driving record, they just adjusted for the risk. I entered all my risk UPFRONT. You should have quoted me correctly according to that driving history. But no, they fool you so you can get their coverage and then come with lame excuses to raise your price.

But this doesn't stop here. I got a quote for Progressive which a much lower quote and not changing my price at all. My premium renewed in March 4th, and I canceled by March 2nd. Since I prepaid my first month, they should be owing me, right? Well no. They now want more money because they decided to change my price after they collected my money.

This is one of the worst companies ever. They should not be spending so much money in advertisement if they can't even deliver. Do not recommend. I got my renewal for the first half of 2024 and my monthly payment had increased to $120 a month. No way an almost 100% increase could be right. Thought there had to be some error so contacted customer service. The agent said, "Yes. That seems like a rather large increase, let me see what the problem is" (clearly thinking that much of an increase had to be an error). The response after seeing why was that costs have increased in my coverage area and GEICO needs to be sure they have enough funds in the bank to pay for the increased costs (I kid you not, their response was we need more money).

I will 100% make GEICO a zero priority in the future for my insurance needs and will be sure to let everyone I know who has them what their rate increases are like (to date 3 people I have talked to have had a similar increase though not as much and all 3 have canceled -GEICO better hope folks don't start checking their bill). Perfectly happy customer with zero intent to switch insurance that day. I would understand if my increase was the average that most people and media outlets are reporting (which is around 18% in my state and would make my monthly payment around $84 - totally acceptable and would have kept my business).

GEICO I hope you didn't screw over all your other customers this bad. Again I understand the need for a premium increase. Things have gotten more expensive and I understand and would have been happy paying an increase in line with averages but I see a multibillion-dollar corporation taking advantage of tough economic times and trying to pull in a few extra bucks on the backs of their long-term, loyal and outstanding customers. Shame on them. I was able to find equal insurance with another company for $79 a month which doesn't help GEICO explain themselves and their price gouging.

All they care about is the $$$DOLLAR$$$. My vehicle broke down on the freeway yesterday with me and my Son and I called Geico my insurance of 20 years and ask them to send me roadside assistance. They told me. I don't have it anymore. They said I overused it (4-times) in 2023. I told them. I never used it 4 times in 1 year.

Why did you stop that service that I'm paying for and they said they are not going to give me roadside assistance. The sales representative Isaac told me Geico will never offer me roadside assistance again. When I heard that I was really upset. "GEICO LEFT ME AND MY SON STRANDED ON THE FREEWAY". The policy is pricey to begin with, but that’s the beginning of challenges that customer can face. Car breaking in are more common in Houston. Geico, only covers $40 labor for 4 hrs and up to I think $500 of total expense then owner has to pay for the cost. This is after the deductible. If you have any tint (mostly people get it during purchase) it’s not covered. What’s baffling was if 2 or 3 or 4 windows are broken, the amounts will still be the same. They discourage going to dealership and the reason they provide is dealership charges extra for everything. Lastly, please review policy before purchasing as any property within vehicle is not insured. Overall, it’s expensive and not custom to user needs. You can buy cheaper policies if you are anyways going to pay for the repairs and damages.

Geico did get my car completed 46 days later, they did do all the calibrations needed to make sure my car was safe. I have receipts from the dealer and everything appears to be working correctly. Adaptive radar cruise control, lane trace, lane assist, key-less entry and auto high beams. They corrected all the issues I had with the body work. This was very long process and very nerve-racking.

    Original Review: Feb. 20, 2024

The Geico ARX shop has had my 2021 hybrid Corolla after a deer strike on 1/10/24, They originally wanted me to pick up on 2/9/24. They called 4 hours before pickup to tell me they couldn't get the car to run after having it for nearly a month. They send it to the dealer who reprograms the throttle body. They tell me I can pick the car up on the 2/14/24. During the pick inspection I find the key-less entry system is completely dead. This actually worked after the crash so the ARX shop messed this up when reassembling the vehicle. Also the headlights and hood had a huge gap to the point I can reach in knuckles deep. This is clearly due to cheap AM parts being used that do not fit correctly.

They agree to fix both issues. They call 2/19/24 today telling me both are fixed and I ask ok when can I expect the car to be ready. They tell me it still needs a wheel alignment and can't give me any time table. That should have been done already before I attempted to pick up this car? At this point I feel the car is unsafe and geico is pressuring this ARX shop to cut corners and give me a car with unsafe repairs that should have been totaled out. I will take this car to the dealer and appraiser and find out if any damage was omitted in attempt to avoid paying out a totaled claim on the car and if the repairs did in fact total this car. I have asked Geico numerous times what dollar amount they would considered this car totaled and what the actual cash value of the car is, they have lied and deflected this question several times.

Four other family members are on this policy as well. I called repeatedly after opening the cancellation letter but there was no way to get through to anyone on the phone. Then I tried the website chat. I asked if they could drop the youngest family member (who got into an accident in a parking lot with an empty car) from the policy and still keep the coverage. They would not even discuss this option, even though I have been paying them on time in full for 30 years. Just doesn't feel like good business etiquette to me.

As a loyal customer for nine years, I have always trusted Geico for reliable coverage and attentive customer care. However, a recent experience has left me deeply dissatisfied and questioning the integrity of your company. After only 15 days of coverage with Geico, I made the decision to cancel my policy due to personal reasons. To my shock and dismay, I was charged an exorbitant 18% of the total premium as cancellation fees. This is an unreasonable and unjustifiable amount, especially considering the short duration of my coverage.

Furthermore, despite numerous attempts to contact Geico regarding this matter, I have been met with indifference and a complete lack of concern for my situation. As a long-time customer who has faithfully paid premiums for nearly a decade, I expected better treatment and understanding from your company. I urge Geico to reconsider its policy regarding cancellation fees and to demonstrate a greater commitment to customer satisfaction. Loyalty should be rewarded, not exploited for profit.

I moved to Ohio shortly after the incident and moved back to Georgia in 2019, when I tried to switch my driver license over to Georgia I was handed a notification from the DMV that my license was suspended, it had no names, phone numbers or addresses for me to contact and I asked the attendant what to do and she didn’t know so I started digging to figure out who to contact, eventually I found out it was Edward ** who had since retired, nobody knew who took over his claims so I contacted the corporate office and was connected with Scott ** and he informed me that I owed $27,460. From almost 20 years ago.

He finally said that he would close my case if I paid $1500. So it took me a year to save, when I called him to settle I was connected with a different person that said that she would settle for $8,000. So I explained that I was told $1500. So after a week of waiting I was finally able to pay that amount and waited another 2 months before I could reinstate my license. I contacted Jennifer ** and she helped me with getting the information I needed quickly. I finally got my license on 04/18/2023, then on 02/03/2024 I received a letter from Boutwell and Associates stating that my license was being suspended for the same claim, I also received a notification from the driver services stating that my license was going to be suspended on 02/18/2024 due to a judgment against me from a car accident on 03/14/2004. I immediately contacted Jennifer Waits and she sent the documents to that firm stating that I settled the claim and my case was closed. I can’t thank her enough for everything she’s done for me. She got a ticket and admitted she just pulled out without stopping to look for cars. I was traveling about 5 miles an hour because I was coming up to a stop light. Since I said I saw her about to hit me, they gave me 20 % of the fault!!!! There was no way I could’ve reacted fast enough to avoid this accident. If anyone has ever been in an accident, you know that you see it right before it happens and there is nothing you can do to avoid it. If that were the case there would be no accidents according to GEICO. Because if you see it coming you should be able to avoid it. That makes no sense whatsoever. But, they have young kids who have probably never been in an accident reviewing cases and determining fault. I just want to give a heads up that GEICO is very unfair and will not fairly judge accidents..

I called the police to make sure I had a paper trail with her getting the ticket, so there was no question of who was at fault and they still gave me 20 % fault. Very unfair, especially since I try very hard to be a safe driver and follow the rules. The fact that the other driver admitted fault and I still got 20% is appalling. Did I mention both drivers had GEICO, I don’t know if this is why they gave me fault but it is not right. I will be leaving GEICO after giving them my money for many years. Bad business!!!!

To date, I have not been paid a single dollar from my fully paid under-insured motorist coverage and nearly nine freakin years geico has and continues to put me through absolute hell worse that the wreck itself and that is saying a lot because I have a ton of ongoing medical issues, and told will likely need various treatments for chronic debilitating pain the rest of my life. Have had several surgeries and more in reviews at Stanford for numerous nerve blocks to my neck, right shoulder, lower back, will ultimately have permanent wires installed behind my upper and lower jaws to stabilize me teeth and jaws that caved in and broke crowns, etc., from the wreck.

I cannot even begin to describe the absolute hell geico's amassed legal pariahs against me have and continue to subject me to as this nightmare from hell drags on now almost nine years without a single dollar paid to me from fully paid under-insured policy coverage represents a tiny, tiny fraction of nearly a decade of accruing damages, decimating loss of income, ongoing medical issues, more surgeries to come, etc., etc.

I am a victim of a grossly under insured motorist who was also a geico insured for whom geico immediately acknowledged he was 100% at fault for the horrific life destroying wreck in 2015 almost nine years ago that they have to date not paid a single dollar from my fully paid under-insured motorist policy that represents a tiny fraction of my damages, ongoing medical treatments, surgeries, etc., that I am informed will most likely need treatments more surgeries, etc., for the rest of my life.

Geico is so determined not to pay me the measly policy coverage owed me, they have literally terrorized, tormented, harassed, threatened, taken me=me the victim of their grossly under insured motorist- to court a dozen+/- times on any every little thing they can think of trying to get my case thrown out and/or as they recently accomplished by the pliable/accommodating court judge, so restricted my ability to present my case with expert testimony needed to prove my injuries, damages, etc.

They bombarded me with unbelievable volumes of discovery demands (far more than the civil code allows them to) and have constantly threatened and filed court actions against with blatant lies accusations I failed to comply with there endless excessive discovery demands, just one example of their filthy lies to manipulate the willing court, in response many endless demands I complied literally 7900+/- pages of mostly medical records, reports of orthopedic surgeries, years of physical therapy, orthodontist work, etc., all of which I was required assembly identifying every single document correlating to their excessive varying numbered discovery categories which I did exactly as per according to their subpoenas only to have them shuffle all the thousands of pages I had spent weeks compiling with cover pages identified the documents to the correlating categories of their demands,

They mixed them all up, removed and randomly shoved the cover pages in the documents without any correlations for example they had cover pages thrown in the middle of like 15 page document so having absolutely no discernible correlation to anything just totally random all out of sequence, etc., then ran that mess through a machine that numbers every page in shuffled/mixed up mess.

They had reassembled them the number sequence is called bate stamping then sent a demand to go back through every single pay of the thousands of pages using their bate stamps with all the documents completely randomized gave me f ever document be gave me four freakin days (not humanly possible) to re-identify every document by their bate stamps to each of their categories of demands under threat of yet another court action to ask the court fine me, falsely accusing I had not complied with their subpoena to identify every document to each category of demands, etc.

I responded that they were lying as all 7900+/- pages had cover sheets correlating all docs to their identified categories and that they had deliberately mixed up all my docs, removed cover pages threw some, not all back into the rearrange mess and further that their demand to re-identify 7900+/- pages within 4-days identifying every document to their numbered demand categories using their bate stamps to identify to each category, a herculean impossibility. The main lying scum bag attorney threatened to and did file another motion in court which supported with a completely false declaration that I had not complied at all per subpoena when I could not complete the demand in the four days. This is just one of dozens of examples of the sheer hell they have subjected me to. Angry and confused, I messaged GEICO to remove the balance. Their chat agent told me I had to call because they had no authority in chat. That didn't help me feel better. I called, eventually learning that there was a glitch in their system. Additionally, they never received my first document submission that I sent right after paying for my policy in full so they requested that I submitted it again. I was told I didn't owe anything and that my account will get cleared up and my balance will return to $0 long before it would be due so there will be no lapse in coverage before renewal. I was told not to worry about it and it was impacting a lot of their customers. It was a mass issue and not just tied to me.

At this point I've already spent several hours over several conversations trying to figure out why I'm still being sent bills and my account balance has not been completely returned to $0.00. I called again today, was told that I indeed owed this money and it wasn't a glitch or technical issue. He said I requested to increase my policy then cancelled about a month later. That's not the case. I never changed my policy and never even inquired to do so. I'm so angry this never got resolved. I asked to escalate after a half hour of getting nowhere with the agent. Then the agent, Tim, told me that he escalated it and Robin (Robyn) would call me back in 30 minutes because she was busy.

And what’s worse is that we treated so bad and never even given a true explanation of why we were being dropped. I'll find insurance elsewhere and never go back to GEICO.

The repair shop confirms extensive damage but won’t take my car without an accurate estimate. After persistent calls, they reluctantly authorize using a “used” door and fixing the bumper, refusing to update the estimate despite the shop’s recommendation for a new one, displaying rude behavior. Unacceptable service, an incompetent response evident in the photos and their assessment. GEICO’s solution is to leave me without a car for months. Never again, GEICO.

I was told a new item was added to everyone's policy, but with declining offer it would give a discount. Still paying more than last month. I was told insurance has increased for all drivers! I AM BANNING GEICO. My vehicle was struck by the debris of a truck that I was following and although I have uninsured motorist insurance, Geico will not honor the uninsured motorist portion of the policy. Although they should have covered me under uninsured motorist they decided not to because my car had not literally touched the other vehicle. To make things worse, they initially told me that I would covered under uninsured motorist insurance but, I'd need a police report. I spent several hours attempting to get a police report but the police do not respond to vehicle matters where there is no bodily harm so I reached back out to Geico and was told to call my adjuster (Scott) if I couldn't get a police report and he would help but Scott literally became very rude and mean to me so I called back to Geico and to complain about the call with Scott but Geico was not willing to help.

I then received a call from Scott's manager Alex ** and he was even ruder than Scott. He was outright mean. These guys had no compassion or understanding, they simply wanted to argue. As a result, I called Geico back again to talk about Alex and to inform them that I CANNOT get a police report but because they feel like I argued my point with Alex, they decided to NOT cover my uninsured motorist coverage. I refused to argue anymore because I was literally in tears at that point and I threatened to cancel and they said "OK let me transfer you." They did not care at all that this was happening to me and the last representative definitely did not care if I canceled. I am upset because Geico is dishonest when it relates to uninsured motorists and car rental insurance, and the adjusters are very, very rude.

I am so pissed at Geico that I am looking for another insurance company even if I pay more. On my renewal on mid December their price went up by more than 15% and went looking for another company but their price was still close enough. End of December purchased two cars and added to policy, they gave me one price and ended up charging a different price, even after I repeatedly told them to give me the full 6 month rate, and I now find out that the price given was not the full 6 months so it was a lower number (but there is more to this).

So when I get my declaration page I see the price is over $1000 higher for 6 months. I then look at the entire quote and notice that the other two cars we had, have also gone up in price and they won't do anything about it and won't give me that rate back even if I only stay with the older two cars only and get rid of the new cars.

So what I found out and am really pissed about is that on top of giving you the wrong price verbally but they will also raise the price of existing cars in the policy and they will not tell you that they are raising it, and once they hit enter and add the new cars or make any change what so ever the new price gets locked in and there is nothing you can do about it except cancel the policy. So since I hate to get shafted, I am looking for a new company. And this is why there are class action lawsuits because I am not the only one that this is happening to.

No response from geico for two years saying they were pursuing the car wash. Only communication from them was via email saying that claim was still open. Repair from body shop was $2,334. We paid $1,000 deductible, geico paid the rest. Geico sent us a $400 check and paid the rest of the balance to the body shop. We called the car wash to get reimbursed for ONLY the deductible, NOT THE WHOLE AMOUNT. It was the car wash’s fault so they happily paid us. Mind you, we haven’t heard from geico in TWO years. We didn’t know if they contacted the car wash to get OUR deductible back so we can get reimbursed for something that WASNT OUR FAULT.

Two years later geico says they are terminating our claim because WE pursued the car wash (AFTER TWO YEARS) and got our deductible. Geico also made us pay back the money they paid to the body shop!! They sent it to collections also. They charge us $300 a month for insurance. We have no tickets and no accidents on our record and now we are leaving them to find another insurance company. We will NEVER use them again. They could’ve gotten $300 a month from us for forever but they want to be difficult over $1,400! What kind of business sense is that? The claims adjuster handling our claim should be fired. I wonder if her supervisor thinks it’s good business practice to lose a customer paying 300/month forever; for a measly $1,400.

I am writing this in hopes I can save people some trouble if they live in the Los Angeles County Area. I experienced Flooding Damages to my Vehicle on 08/20/23 when Tropical Storm Hilary hit the area. What seemed to be a clean-cut case turned into a nightmare that cost me $4,500 out of pocket. Please keep in mind that these claims adjusters will lie and they are not on your side. They will tell you what work to get done, and once the work is done they bring in a new adjuster who was not there to hear the account of the story to deny the claim. They understand that most folks do not understand insurance or a policy. They will take full advantage for their own gain. From claims adjusters, to supervisor, to management they are dismissive, rude, and doing their best not to support you.

I am currently in the process of filing with the California Insurance Department that will hopefully lead to a settlement or the opportunity to take the adjustor to small claims court. The steps to take if you have to file a claim with GEICO is:
1.) Get support from a lawyer right away, before the claim is made

2.) Document anything and everything so you can document the lies

If you have been denied here are the steps to take after:
1.) UPhelp.org is a great resource and a non for profit to help battle bad faith insurance companies
2.) File with the states insurance agency

3.) Serve the GEICO Law department for small claims court. If damages are under 10,000$ you can file under small claims court so GEICO cannot have their legal team involved. In court, it will be you against the adjuster. Most of the time they will not want to do this and they will settle. GEICO will become more and more unresponsive as you attempt to get justice for you and your family. Be patient and seek support from public advocates. GEICO will gaslight you into thinking you are out of pocket or wrong for pursuing justice but do not give up! Claims adjusters only need a GED and to pass a test. They are not car experts by any means. Be patient and have faith, but a good place to start is not ever getting any sort of policy through GEICO. I learned the hard way and I hope this helps people steer clear of supporting a company that acts in bad faith and rarely rightfully indemnifies clients to pre-loss conditions under any kind of policy! Rating: 1/5. As a policyholder with Geico I am utterly disappointed and appalled by the recent conduct of the company. Without my knowledge or consent, geico added another driver to my policy and unilaterally changed the policy premium, all under the guise of a so-called "system-generated risk and probability." This egregious behavior is a clear violation of trust and demonstrates a blatant disregard for ethical business practices.

The lack of transparency exhibited by geico is deeply concerning. As a policyholder, I expect to be informed of any changes to my policy, especially those that directly impact my coverage and premium. The fact that these alterations were made without my consent is not only unethical but also undermines the very foundation of the insurance provider-customer relationship.

Moreover, attributing these changes to a "system-generated risk and probability" is an inadequate explanation for such significant adjustments. It appears to be an attempt to justify an unjustifiable action, further exemplifying the company's lack of accountability and responsibility towards its policyholders. In light of these recent events, I cannot in good conscience recommend geico to anyone seeking insurance coverage. The company's actions have eroded the trust that is essential in the insurance industry, and I am left feeling vulnerable and taken advantage of as a policyholder. I fervently hope that geico reevaluates its business practices and prioritizes transparency, integrity, and respect for its policyholders. Until then, I advise individuals to exercise caution when considering geico for their insurance needs.
