GEICO’s customer service is great but the cost is expensive and I barely am able to make the monthly payments. GEICO is a top-rated company but there are no caps on what can be charged along with the number of uninsured motorists, so it becomes unaffordable for a lot of people. As insurance rates go up, less and less people can afford it. This causes a vicious cycle of increased rates to cover those who don't have insurance while those who pay, are given the job of paying for the uninsured. It stinks that I'm paying my part and theirs.

Last year I filed a claim with Geico due to having some items stolen during a move, it took me awhile to get the paperwork in but I finally did, I never ever got anything to cover the cost of the items I had stolen, I also wrote personally to Geico and never got a reply or a change in claims adjuster. It's sad that a company that is suppose to be there for you doesn't do anything but will give to those who don't really need it. I will never use them again and I will never recommend friend or family to them.

Got stranded in a mall parking lot on a Saturday night when it was cold and raining. Made ten calls to customer service for roadside service. It took eight hours to get a tow truck. Even more frustrating was the fact that we had to make so many calls based on their time estimates for the truck arrival which were never met. Also, we had to explain the situation each time. During this time the mall closed so we couldn't go inside to get warm and our phone batteries died so we had no way to contact them further. All in all, it was a horrible customer service experience that was not made easier by a lack of empathy.

Filing the claim was easy, but getting them to cover the rental car was a headache. I had to fight each day to keep the rental car during the time my car was being repaired. I had $8000 worth of hail damage to my new car. When I reported the damage the claim process went very smoothly. Once an estimate was made I was pressured to use their choice for the body work to be done on my car. In the end I used the dealership since my care was less than a year old. The actual cost of the repairs came to $8100 and the insurance paid, however they did not want to pay for the rental car that I had to drive for more than three days. The repairs on my car took almost three weeks and after the first three days I had to call the insurance company almost every day just to keep the rental.

Got a quote from GEICO for home insurance and I thought I'd go with it since I already had car insurance with them - simply thinking it would make my life easier. But boy was I way off the mark. Must have spoken to at least 6 to 7 agents over the phone spread over a week taking hours off from my work to talk to these people to get my quote approved (will take a whole page to list out my headache of an experience). Finally when I am close to getting it approved (about a week from my new house's target closing date) they say they can't give me the quoted price. So I said goodbye. Exhausting time-wasting experience. Extremely poor customer service.

I am going to cancel my car insurance also with them!!! Can't imagine being stuck with this company for a claim in the future! Going to shop for better insurance companies. Should have read ConsumerAffairs before shopping around for home insurance. Thanks to everyone else out here also for providing their experiences. My sympathies to you all.

GEICO's customer service is consistent across the board. On more than one occasion they have handled my auto-related claims. The process was quick and favorable--no hassle. When I call them, I am certain my questions or concerns will be addressed amicably and timely because for more than 20 years that's been my experience. Occasionally, I have called in relation to policy-related questions. In addition, I have added new vehicles to my policy and that was seamless-- a quick phone call was all it took. Road side service was quick and painless. I have also had the misfortune of filing several accident claims. No matter the circumstances, GEICO's customer service associates took great care and have been helpful, friendly and courteous. They have always provided excellent service.

When questioning my rate increases on a regular basis when I have caused no encumberment, have no traffic violations I'm told rate increases are approved by the State of AZ; similar in all states. When questioning why insurance companies fail to increase the rates for bad drivers proportionately rather than taxing customers across the board, bringing up legitimate facts and statistics regarding rate increase issues that adversely affect our rate increases; I was told by Cindy, customer service at Geico that I was racist and she is personally offended. I reminded her I did not mention race even once. She was off her script or maybe that is Now GEICO' s latest narrative; put down to consumer challenge, rational concerns. Advised her to go find her safe space to avoid responding to factual reality and have a manager call me.

A supervisor called me back and stated the best he could do is what they have done in years past; reduce my coverage on the vehicle I drive. This go around taking off the rental car coverage. I now live in the poorest rural county in AZ purported to have the lowest insurance rates in AZ. Insurance is the second oldest profession. Bigger, Badder; is not Best.

They gave both of our children affordable coverage when they started their lives with a vehicle. When we filed a claim, it took two phone calls to get them to come out. I recently moved to SC and had to switch auto insurance, the company I had only insured in NJ. I made a call to Geico who gave me an 'unbelievably' great price. Trusting they are a nationally known I signed-up with them. I even transferred my homeowners to them. When talking to the sales rep I MADE SURE he knew everything on ALL our motor vehicle records. My daughter has a careless driving ticket and a not at fault accident (2013), which at 22 still costs more money. I also made sure the Rep knew my daughter had NOT taken any driver safety courses since she was 16. The price he gave me INCLUDED a driver's safety discount and OMITTED my daughter's 2013 accident. In one month with Geico I received TWO price increases; one for the accident and one for her not haven completed a safety course in the last three years.

Geico's NEW way of doing business is tell the caller ANYTHING to get them to sign with them and send the premium increase online or in the mail, depending on how you chose to be billed. They {GEICO} assumes consumers are lazy and won't do ANYTHING except pay the higher premium. I switched my home and autos into their trust only to be screwed [for a lack of a better term] by an insurance company that advertises how great they are.

Calls to their customer service are answered with 'OH WELL" and 'our sales team wouldn't do that'. Not only did they but they expect me to pay the higher premium for the short time I will be insured with them. Switching but I'm paid for the next couple weeks and do NOT trust them to send refund. My mortgage company helped me with the cancellation of the homeowner's policy. STAY AWAY FROM GEICO ~ STAY VERY FAR AWAY.

GEICO insurance is just a joke. I switched insurance companies from Allstate of 15 years to GEICO and what a mess! They do not listen to the policyholder on any issue. You talk to different people, they lie beyond, I had not one issue but at least 10 or more. Thank God I read my policy. They had things on there that I did not want and what I wanted they didn't put on. Then they never sent me notices or bills, only online. If you do not sign up for payments to come out every month, they charge you a fee. REALLY! I do not know what that, I want to pay my bill myself and I have to pay more for it. When the year is up I am going back to Allstate. I was in good hands with them!

Whether I'm dealing online or on the phone, the customer service is always competent and meets my needs. Also, the streamlining process is great. The claims process with GEICO was seamless. I filed the claim, an adjuster came to my house and provided a damage estimate and recommended an authorized repair facility. Midway through the repairs, additional damage was discovered and an adjustment was made on the spot with no questions ask. Then after I had the vehicle returned after completed repairs, yet another damaged area was discovered, and again the adjuster came to my house and revised the original claim to include the newly discovered damage. However it is a bit expensive considering no moving violations or collision claims have ever been filed. None in the past 10 years. Overall I have been very satisfied with the coverage, the staff has been very helpful and a good value versus other providers.

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE! My car got flooded last year and needed a new floor and ball bearings due to the flood (words from the repair shop). Geico did not cover the ball bearings, which cost $600, even though it was flood damage, and now I have to get my brake line, the brake wheel cylinder, AND the bleeding screws replaced, an extra $550 out of pocket because the auto inspector WHO FLEW IN FROM PHILLY didn't do his job correctly. He only checked inside the car, not underneath the car, or the hood. He only cared about his paycheck, and now I have to suffer for it. No wonder this company sucks, it has a lizard as its spokesperson and really crappy people working for it. If they were truly "sorry for the inconvenience" and for the "unfortunate situation", then it would be fixed, instead of me constantly getting "I'm sorry." Man up, and do your job.

Secondly, roadside assistance is a joke. It takes them an HOUR OR MORE to get there to help, and the past two times I used this service, they were late. The first time, they didn't tell me they were going to be late until 15 minutes after their scheduled arrival time, so I had to cancel. I was using Tow Jam, a horribly unorganized Houston-based towing company, and I told the "customer service representative" to NOT send me Tow Jam for the reschedule, and who did they send me? TOW JAM.

The second time, which was last week, I was quoted 75 minutes. It was 15 minutes from the scheduled arrival time, and I get a text saying that they are having car trouble and they were going to be ANOTHER HOUR LATE. SERIOUSLY!!! THIS IS RIDICULOUS. He asked me if I could wait for him, and I said, "I didn't have a choice." The driver replying the same thing, which was infuriating. He didn't even let me know when he arrived at my car. Guess who it was?? You are correct, it was TOW JAM. No wonder why he was late.

So then I called the roadside assistance department to complain, and again, all I got were "I'm sorry for the inconvenience." He then had the audacity to ask me if I would like to change my tow truck company. It's funny because the first time this happened I told them to not send me Tow Jam. You would think that since this is one of the biggest insurance companies in America that they would care, but then again, why would they? I am NEVER using Geico EVER AGAIN. And I will tell everyone to not use them because they are unprofessional, have horrible customer service, and they just apologize and nothing gets fixed, and I AM DONE.

A month ago I called Geico and inquired about me moving to NC and leaving my truck behind in NH for my daughter/son in law to drive. The agent told me that the truck should be insured by my son in law and not me. Now that I moved to NC and my insurance was due on the 23rd. So I called them and was going to let the policy expire/cancel until June 21 because I didn't have the funds to register it or get an NC license and going to take the car off the road anyway to do a bunch of work to it. The agent was pushy and didn't pay attention to what I wanted. She was more interested in "not losing me." I had no intentions of leaving Geico. It just that I didn't want to renew and pay insurance for 2 maybe even 3 weeks while the car was being repaired, and while I didn't have the funds to get my license and register it, let alone pay for a policy I wasn't going to use for a few weeks anyway.

I'm not even sure what all transpired with this woman agent from Geico. She was going a hundred miles an hour and guess what? The agent 4 weeks ago said my son in law should insure the truck BUT! This woman put it on my policy anyway! This was totally manipulative on Geico's part and will never go back. I was with them for 15 years, no violations or accidents other than a no fault one of hitting a coyote. I was crapped on by a company I was loyal to for 15 years with no accidents or violations. THEN, they had no desire to work with me on it or fix it. Instead they charged me $77.87 for 4 days coverage.

My car drowned in a supermoon flood. Salt water eats away and corrodes anything it touches. The entire underside was immersed. The engine had to be replaced. By the time the guy arrived from Geico there was already signs of corrosion which he said was normal wear and tear having nothing to do with the salt water. At his initial visit he was unaware it was salt water, though I mentioned it in my report.

I have dealt with Geico but not in Florida. In NY Geico was always a decent company. In Florida they are outrageously bad. They do not know what customer service is. I thought the car should be trashed. He didn't. I went to higher channels. Each and every person I dealt with was dismissive, did not return calls and eventually dictated the results. The car ended up being a total loss for me. Geico paid the Mechanic more than 8000 dollars. The car was a pre-owned 2013, I had purchased in January of 2016. The event occurred at the beginning of October 2016. I did not even have the car 10 months. I paid 22K for it and sold it for what I still owed on the loan. A total wash. Based on this experience, in FLORIDA, I consult others to avoid Geico.

I was happy with the process of the accident claim, but I was upset that my company had to pay for the damages and they will get the other insurance company to pay. But the other insurance company is not responding. I think if 100% not your fault, they should automatically pay. And another thing that troubles me. They paid my car loan off. Paid for loaner car while waiting to see what was going to happen. I had a lot of work done on that car and now I'm out a car and having to save for a down payment on another one. I have been insured with Geico over 3 years. I renewed a 6 month policy in December, and was unfortunately t-boned in February. The other driver was found 100% at fault, and I had to go to her insurance company's mechanic for a quote on repairs. I showed up, they total out my car, and my recourse was a check for damages. Guess who the driver who hit me was insured by? GEICO. I thought it was a funny coincidence, and moved on. I made my last payment in May, and got a letter in the mail following week. I figured it was Geico letting me know I had to renew, which I planned to anyway. Nope! It was a letter they would no longer insure me because of my "driving record." Mind you, I had not been pulled over in over a year, nothing outstanding, and traffic ticket paid. Furthermore, since that ticket, they renewed my policy twice.

I called to speak with a rep and she gave me some line about checking drivers every 5 years (I was not with them that long...) and that they did not have a "bracket" to put me in. Then, it dawned on me... they dropped me because they had to pay me. There is no other reason for it. I had been warned of them before, but actually liked their services... wish I had listened. I called Progressive and was instantly approved for coverage more than $50 less than what I paid them for 3 years. They will never see another dime from me, and I've convinced others to make the switch as well. Shady, shady, shady business!

I received a call and the adjuster informed me that possibly they wouldn't be able to pay out the claim as I needed to have a photo inspection which I was never informed of when signing up.

I get at least 3 text messages every month from Geico letting me know a payment is due and that they would be deducting it from my designated account, along with text message and email about payment. Wouldn't you think if I needed to get a photo that they could send the same courtesy messages or maybe even call, write letter something? It seems to me all they want is to collect my money, with no interest in my real protection under policy. They said it was suspended but continued to collect the premium. Please tell how this is fair. I have never made a claim under Geico after many years of making my payments. SEEMS So unfair and ethical. If I took people's money and didn't provide the service I would be in jail. Seen as they are a billion dollar company they have the right to take money without providing what I've been paying for??? They have drive-in centers where you can pick up your rental car right at the same time that you drop off your car for repair when you file the claim and set up the appointment with the adjuster (also at the repair center). It's all in one and it makes it very easy and convenient. When the car is complete, you return the rental car and pick up your car. It's that simple. No need to find a ride to and from one place or another. I have never had an issue with GEICO. They are there 24/7 to help me. I never have to wait for an associate more than a minute or two. They always help me find the most savings possible on my policy. One year I had two minor claims, which I was not responsible for (my car was hit while parked in two separate locations) and my rates remained steady. Great pricing and their service is excellent. Then he called me to be his translator. I am so angry after talked to one of GEICO representative. Then I guess GEICO is just want to do business with English-speaking person. A guy turned into the side of my car in an intersection. We pulled over and exchanged info as gentlemen. I waited for the other party to leave, as I was concerned that maybe a witness would present themselves and speak to only one party. That didn't happen, as I watched the other party drive away. I reported the incident to Geico minutes later. I got a call from a Claims Supervisor. We spoke in detail about the incident, then he told me what to do next AND what he would do next. He would call me the following Monday morning. A week later I called as I'd not heard back. He said they're working on it, but seemed argumentative when I politely said, "Oh sorry, I was expecting to hear from you Monday." "Why would I call you Monday? I didn't know anything new."

10 days later I called and he acted as if I was holding up the process. I asked, "Is there additional info you need from me, or something I need to do further?" No. I felt that he was disrespectful and dismissive. He didn't seem to know the background of my claim or anything, even after I gave him all the info. THIS IS A FIRST FOR ME IN DEALING WITH ANY COMPANY but I politely requested that Matthew release my claim to another representative. I emailed and called Geico for days asking that this request be honored OR AT LEAST THAT SOMEONE DISCUSS IT WITH ME. After not receiving any followup, I called Matthew and demanded that I speak to a different rep. He said, "That's not gonna happen."

He called back within a week and said, "There's been a determination. Claim resolved. I'm sorry but your story conflicts with the other driver and there's no other evidence, so it's a draw. NO FAULT, but you'll have to pay your deductible." That bugged me, as I had done nothing wrong, but I accepted it and thanked him and that was it.

Sometime after that (6 weeks after the incident) he Mr **, Matthew left me a voicemail message explaining that a witness came out of the woodwork and supported the other driver's story. I knew that their story could not be true, but Matt said that I would lose if it went to court because the other party has a witness. I know there was no witness that came forward at the scene, or after the scene. I told him it sounds awfully fishy that an individual would witness a minor fender bender, not come forward, then more than a month later feel compelled to track down the drivers or insurance companies (how? I can't imagine), only to support the story of the other party, which I know is not true.

When I asked Mr. ** about WHEN the witness came forward, WHO they contacted, etc... He said, "They just did, that's all, and you have no defense so you lose." I said, "I'll bring you 3 witnesses tomorrow who will for surely support my story. Why didn't you tell me we could do that?" That guy is representing Geico. That's Geico. They are the best company until you need them to do something other than cash your premium payments. No one has access to my claim but MD. No one can get a supervisor or anyone else in Claims to call me back. No one can give me the name of someone I can get in touch with. I've even led with, "I'm not calling to make a case against your agent. I'm calling to get this matter resolved for ME." That being said, Matthew IS Geico, and it's bad. Very bad. All national claims numbers forward to his desk. My Damage Adjuster, Mr. **, was very professional and respectful, by the way.

Geico has accepted my premium payments for 20 years, without incident. I wish I had paid for a reputable insurance agent instead. Someone who would at least pretend to have my interest in mind, fight for me, and be accountable. I have the suspicion that the other party is committing fraud. Whether that's the case or not, Geico doesn't think it's worth following up with 2 or 3 obvious questions to find out. MD- "I can't just deny a claim because you think something sounds fishy!"

There were no witnesses at the scene. The damage to my car is on the driver's-side, starting at the rear of the back driver's-side passenger door, and scraping forward until it terminated midway through the driver's door. The damage to the other party's vehicle is only to the front passenger-side corner, when he turned into my car. I know it's not conclusive, but I can't imagine what the other driver's story must have been. The point now is that MD said, "They have a witness and you don't. You would automatically lose if this went to court." That's one of the more stupid statements I've ever heard.

So I filed a claim with GEICO, followed the online process, then a week or so later I scheduled a vehicle inspections a adjuster, met up at a body shop in Fullerton, took down notes and did his process. Days later I get a call from a lady by the name of Jessica claiming to be another adjuster who then told me that my file was transfer to Andrea ** with the special investigations unit because Jessica stated Andrea was helping her with the claim. Which I was shocked that you need 3 adjusters to get a vehicle repaired.

After speaking to Andrea days later. She was beating around the bush when she was asking me questions about the claim. I told her my story and she kept asking different scenario questions. So at this point I was thinking who is this lady and why she is making it seem like I was the cause of the incident. I let it go and continue on with the call. But then she said she will have another person the focus on reviewing these type of accidents. She called him a Expert in something with claims and vehicle inspections. By now it's almost about to hit a month. I decided to take matter in my own hand and got my vehicle fixed out of my own pocket because apparently GEICO can help their clients with their claims. I felt like I had to jump through hoops just to get this process moving thinking it was going to be much easier than talking to 4 people now for a small 1900.00 claim based on their appraisal.

Please keep in mind I have paid more then 1900.00 to GEICO to have their insurance services. But it seem to be that once you file a claim they will do anything possible to not help out or either they just don't have the fund to be paying claims out. I feel like they spent more man hours trying to supposedly help me out than what my actual claim is worth. I mean why not be straightforward and just tell me "Mr. Customer we don't pay out on claims that are similar to your situation." I would have been fine with that. I am not in need of money from my insurance to fix my vehicle but again I do pay insurance for a reason. So I ended up just getting the vehicle fixed on my own out of pocket with no problem and cancelled my policy with GEICO and went with another insurance.

It's GEICO'S loss because I wanted to switch my home insurance and my other vehicle insurance with them but ended up getting a bundle deal with another Insurance who I was able to meet face to face and they took care of me. Also I did explain my experience to the new insurance and they laugh because they have seen this happen multiple times. They even said that GEICO will do everything on their end to not pay out a claim. So people that are reading this please do not do the same mistake I did. You might pay a bit more elsewhere but like they say "cheap comes out to be expensive" so might as well look for another insurance that you can actually meet your agent upfront than just doing everything online. Because insurance is really important. SO AGAIN DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH GEICO. WORSE INSURANCE COMPANY EVER.

On 4/28/17 I was involved in an accident due to the negligence of Geico's insured. I called the next day to advise I was injured from the accident. I spoke to the Geico rep Amelia on 4/29/17 who said she could not open a bodily claim for my injuries. I advised her she cannot refuse me a bodily injury claim. Per Amelia she stated it was Geico policy. I advised her that I was going to see my primary doctor on Monday. She still refused to open a bodily injury claim. I find that an act of bad faith by Geico.

I called back to advise that I had gone to the doctor. At that time a bodily injury adj was assigned. Dominique ** license # **. She is by far the rudest most unprofessional claims adjuster I have ever had to deal with. She try to lowball me with a $500.00 for my injuries. I then ask her to allow my sister to assist me with this part of the claim. Per Dominique conversation with my sister (Dominique) "stated she had nothing but time". I take that as she will wait us out until we give in and settle with their lowball offer. I then proceeded to correspond with her stating that I will settle my claim at 3000.00 as full and final. Per Mike with Geico he stated he could only give me 1170.00. Unsure how they determine what pain and suffering is considering they have to replace the reinforcement bar to my truck due to the impact. I am in constant pain and cannot sleep due to this accident.

I was insured with Geico for 16 years. I had 2 vehicles then one broke down and I called Geico to inform them that I only had the one car. I logically expected a decrease in my premium, however to my surprise my rate remained the same. When I received the new invoice in the mail I phoned Geico to see why they were charging triple what they were charging for the same car. They explained that it was a newer car and they had to add my son on as a driver because I no longer had the older vehicle for them to assign him to. I didn't like it, but I understood it so I said, "Ok." Then he told me that he made a mistake. The price actually increased. I thought he was joking, but he was serious. He tried to explain that they hadn't taken the old vehicle off the new policy.

I explained that I had the policy in my hand from them showing only the one car with the new dates. He kept trying to convince me that the policy wasn't updated and that's why it was increasing. I asked the supervisor just to make sure that I was understanding correctly. I removed a vehicle from my policy and didn't change anything else, but my policy increased instead of decreasing. He apologized for my inconvenience and said that I was correct that the rate increased. He was again thanked me for my 16 years with them. I told him I was canceling my policy as soon as I found a new company. I went with Progressive. They gave me a discount for being with Geico for so long. They were cheaper for the same service.

I saved fifteen percent on my car insurance, but gained one hundred percent aggravation from this discombobulated company. Their customer (dis)service is rivaled only by Comcast, if you can imagine that. A county senior citizen's transportation van backed into my parked car and smashed the taillight and bumper. The county admitted fault but insisted I file with GEICO and let them subrogate (sue) the county. GEICO headquarters told me that since there was no GEICO-approved body shops within 25 miles of my house, I could take it to a local body shop, which I did. The body shop arranged with a GEICO claims adjuster to inspect the car before repairs began.

That was four days ago, and nine days after the accident. Then some dude from a different GEICO office called me today and said he wanted to come to my parking lot, where he thought my car still was, and inspect it four days from now, which would be twelve days since the accident. The guy had no idea that other arrangements had been made, so my inspection is delayed yet again. This is a left-hand/right-hand fiasco. To add insult to injury, GEICO will only pay for three days' car rental, which is already used up. So now I'm without a car, without a paid rental, without an inspection, as my slightly damaged car languishes in a body shop. As soon as all this is over, I'm shopping for a new insurance company. The lesson is this: you get what you pay for; the lowest premium comes with the worst claims service. What's more important to you?

I've been insured with Geico for some years now, and I must say they are the worst when it comes to claims. On April 16, 2017 roughly around 3 am Eastern Standard Time my vehicle was parked inside our complex when me and my wife got a rude awaking from screaming voices and loud noise. A neighbors' van caught fire and burnt completely down and also destroyed our vehicle. This new van that caught on fire was deemed as an electrical fire from the local fire department saying the fire started from the van. I was given a fire alarm number and a police report number. I called Geico the next day gave them all the information needed and even upload pictures of what was left of the vehicle.

Fast forward to May 9th, 2017 Geico is now telling me that because I have regular PIP that my coverage won't pay me what the car is worth. Okay I get that, but If their car was the problem and not my vehicle shouldn't I still be compensated? Their answer was no. They claimed that they will send an investigation team to assess the damages, but then it went from that to the maker of van MAY... MAY reimburse me for the damages that occurred to my car. The owner of the van has Geico as well. They paid to salvage the van, but didn't pay to salvage my car even tho I wasn't at fault. They stuck us with a tow fee and storage fee because we're not allowed to have an unauthorized vehicle in the area.

They took care of the neighbor claim, but threw mines in the trash. I'm very disgusted with Geico. The car that burnt was a car that I used every day to get back and forth to work and planned on giving it to my son on his 17th birthday. Geico really dropped the ball with this case. I also had 3 different claim adjuster when the neighbor was only assigned to one. I guess the old saying is true "You get what you pay for". Geico is affordable that's why we chose them, and now we regret it!

I went in to push my payment date back and then call them to say my sister will pay this for me for May, now not only will I pay a bank fee but GEICO will assess a fee as well.

When I called them, as nice as she was and apologized, she shared there is nothing that can be done, she politely shared with me that GEICO pulls funds out the actual date before it is due (this is BS) and I said in all my 10 years I never knew that, she then says "well yes ma'am" because GEICO doesn't tell that to anyone unless there is a problem. FRAUD ARTISTS: contact your state's regulatory department for insurance and get the FACTS before you even SPEAK to these scammers. Don't ever take what a company's representative says as a fact - they are always trying to help their employer at your expense. Look up the laws, review the contract and get the state regulatory division to back you up.

Real life example: Hail damage is covered under my GEICO policy and hail damage is specifically excluded from damages listed that describe a SALVAGE title vehicle by Colorado State Law. My car was damaged by hail while fully covered by GEICO. Their agents decide it's "totaled" and tell me they will call me with further information. The agent that called LIES to me, and speaks to me as if I am a child with no rights. He speaks as if a GEICO and the bank have decided what to do with my car, and that it's all been decided for me! "We're going to pick up your car in the next few days." He states as a fact, then when I tell him to slow down, because my car is still in excellent safe condition to drive once the windshield is replaced he says, "Well, it's illegal for you to drive it unless you get a Salvage title on it." FALSE! Then he tells me that GEICO will happily sell me my own car for a 1,800 dollar "salvage fee".

ACTUALLY: GEICO has no rights to my property (the car). They owe me and the bank fair market value for the vehicle at the time of the incident. I can pay my bank loan off and get full title and then they owe ME fair market value, and yes - I don't have to devalue my car with this salvage title nonsense. It is perfectly legal for me to keep my current title. This JERK kept saying, "I'm thinking of how I can HELP YOU." Ha! What a load of insulting nonsense.

Geico sends out an adjuster that spoke broken English that so bad I had a terrible time trying to understand him. To replace my car that was totaled would be around $10,000.00, all Geico would pay is $7,500.00, and I had to fight to get that. Initial quote was $500.00 less. I put $1,200.00 worth of tires on the car 2 months ago. In the estimate he listed a $16.00 credit for 4 nearly brand new tires. Signed over the title, now for more fun had to go to the DMV because he claimed the title had have my name on it. In Wisconsin you sign it over 3 times. I was only the first one.

Bottom line I got cheated by at least $2000.00, and had to pay another $75.00 to put my name on the title of a totaled car. The adjuster followed me to the DMV to wait while I got the title, other people in the lot overheard us and took my side. The guy that caused all this admitted guilt, was given traffic tickets, and is in insured. What did Geico have to lose?

Recently, I needed to call for replacement cards for my two vehicles. As I asked for my cards, we realized we had not updated our address on the policy. We began to take care of this and quickly the agent began asking questions about where my vehicles are kept and what I drive. I work for an international company and my family and I travel all over the country for different periods of time. This was all discussed 2 years ago when I joined Geico. As I tried to explain the situation, the agent continuously cut me off and insisted I must have several different policies because one vehicle is registered in my home state and the others are registered in N.Y. because they are N.Y. leases. The agent refused to listen to me, so I asked to speak to a supervisor, hoping to explain the situation.

Well, that did not go any better. This supervisor, Neruka was brazened and again refused to let me speak. Sadly after 30 minutes of conflict, I mentioned that maybe Geico was not the right company for my family. For some reason this agent felt the need to remind me that they have 5 million policy holders. At this time I asked to speak to someone above her. She quickly stated that it would take up to 48 hours for a supervisor to get back to me and she ended the call. BTW they never changed my address.

About 24 hours later I received a call from a gentleman who stated he was a manager. I explained the situation and he basically showed zero interest in my concerns or the fact my car insurance would increase having policies for several states. As I tried to discuss the behavior of his supervisor Neruka, I got even less concern from him. At this point I explained that I do not feel he has taken my concerns seriously and I felt nothing will come out of this. I ended the call with a brief comment that Geico has 5 million policy holders, so I guess one less would not bother them. I thanked him and ended the call.

After 10 days of calling and speaking to sometimes rude agents, I was able to get a nice man that said he would escalate the case. The incident happened on April 27th and my car is not repaired and today is May 11th. They are trying to get me to claim it with my insurance company. I had no idea that Geico was this trifling!!! They are telling me that they can't determine whose car the insured was driving and they have to find that out and it may take another week.

I told them that with today's technology they should be able to determine that within a day. They said it may be a rental. They should be able to run the VIN and/or the tag and find out who the car belongs to within minutes. I asked her if the car on the police report where their client was cited is their insured's car. She told me to let her look. Can you believe that she had not looked at that!!! I can't tell if this is a scam or if they are all incompetent. I called the police department last night and they confirmed that the car belongs to the driver. I'm giving Geico until tomorrow and if I don't hear back from them with some concrete facts, I'm going to hire an attorney and report Geico to the Insurance Commissioner's office. In 2016 I added my 22 yr. old son and car to my policy. Just liability for his car. On Dec. 7, 2016 my son was making a left turn in an un-signalized intersection of a road that is two lanes either direction with center turning lane (so five lanes wide). As he was completing his turn with his front end more than half way across the last lane, a vehicle came from the opposite direction crossing over two lanes to make a right turn as he did not want to wait in the backed up traffic and hits my son's car in a t-bone manner, luckily he hit his front bumper and hood instead of the passenger doors. This man instantly admitted he was at fault but then pulled some crap that he could not find his insurance. We called the PD three times and they said they did not need to respond and for us to just exchange insurance.

We explained that the man was being difficult and would not cooperate. End result, man never gave his insurance, cops never came. Geico said there were no verified calls from us to the PD (lie), denied the claim because it was in an un-signalized intersection and people turning in them will never have the Right-of-Way. Never mind that several witnesses stated that they saw what happened and the other vehicle was at fault due to reckless driving. Not only were GEICO REPRESENTATIVES rude and disrespectful to their paying customers, they seemed to dismiss us quickly (in 5 min. of the conversation, no investigation at all) and did not want to even discuss the situation.

Now they have raised my insurance and taken my good driver credit. I have had Geico in the past and was a great company to insure with but not now. They have managed to screw its faithful customers, especially the ones that have paid for years and have never used the insurance. Isn't that why we have insurance to begin with? So I'm a brand new customer as of 04/25/2017. I called. I got a quote online of $154/mo after license and my driving record was pulled awesome whatever, so I get a sales rep on the line to see if I could future date my payment for the first month, was told it can't happen. Okay I get it. That's fine. I continue to purchase the policy, I then was quoted by the sales rep $206/mo. In confusion I ask why is it different from online. He then states it was that price after running your license and driving record. So I continue to just say whatever and process my payment.

Following day 04/26/2017 I get a call from the dealership I am purchasing my car from stating Geico (complete morons) has input the wrong information on the RMV-1 form so the registration could not be processed. They had the effective date 04/25/2017 and a change date of 04/29/2017 which 04/29/2017 has not happened so being attentive to detail any representative could have seen the issue. About 7 calls, 7 faxes and still being patient I get a guy (liar) who actually sees the issue, great! He goes above and beyond to ensure that the person faxing the document also corrects the date to reflect 04/25/2017... Cool! Now 5 hours later sitting in the dealership and being a new customer this is not a good look or good start to a potentially lifelong relationship with the company, the representative is showing empathy and states, "For your trouble we will give you a complimentary month and it will be refunded within 24 hours."

Today 04/27/2017 no money, call Geico to see what's going on, Emily states, "Hey there's no notation on the account." Passes me along to her manager, manager states (liar) the representative does not have the permission to even do that, and they could not credit even $5 to my account (another liar). I was online looking at my quote and (snake) the sales representative I first spoke to who said it my policy would be $206/mo had added extra features that I did not opt online in the first place. He added roadside assistance and mechanical breakdown insurance which I have going through my dealership purchasing a brand new car... She then contradicts herself from saying she can't even refund $5 but has refunded me $30 for the representative's sneakiness. Okay?

So I call her out. She gets all nervous and I ask that the call be pulled with the representative (liar) that stated he would comp me the first month of the policy, she goes to say that they are random.. No they are not, in a call center all calls are recorded. Anyone with a brain knows that. So end of the story no call, got pulled, I spent 3 days with the most crooked company I have ever encountered and starting tomorrow I will have a new insurance company and I will be a snake myself and dispute the transaction myself at my bank to have it removed. Thanks anyways Geico, loyalty, honesty and good customer service keeps happy customers. I advise anyone who has Geico auto insurance cancel, and anyone looking to get Geico auto insurance is avoid at all cause. As a consumer and being promised something on a recorded line it should be honored and the reps should be trained right. Rant over.

I've been with GEICO for years. In fact, I insured two cars and renters insurance thru GEICO. On March 28th my insurance elapsed, however I reinstated on March 31st, 2017. This was due to my hardship. My son was using my car and I knew where it was. The following day something awful happened to my son, and my car remained at the hotel where he and another friend were staying. Instead of his friend bring my car home, he took my car on April 1, 2017. On that day I had no clue where my car was. I reported the loss to GEICO. My claim was assigned to an adjuster. Several days after, he told me my claim was void because the car was not in my possession. He spoke at me, would not allow me to speak, and literally made defamatory statements about me. I drive a leased 2016 Volvo S60. I asked to speak with his supervisor, but I received more of the same.

According to the supervisor when I reported my car was stolen on March 31, 2017 I was not insured and the damage could have occurred on the 31st instead of April. How can a car be missing when the owner knows who had the car and where it was? Upon further research I gathered evidence that established and support my state such as the memory record of when my head light was damaged, statement from the hotel manager, and thru an investigation located the person who took my car along with her statement of events. Although, she was unaware her email was sent to discover the truth of what happened.

With that being said the supervisor told me the car was not in my possession. Of course it wasn't because it was STOLEN. I have comprehensive collision coverage. This covers vandalized, theft, and so on. This traumatic event is emotionally draining. I filed a complaint with the state auto insurance commissioner, and the state of California AG consumer affairs. I never thought GEICO would not honor their contract nor approach me with no respect as a consumer. Burden of this case with a play of words that makes NO SENSE!!!

She tried to miss him, hit her headlight on the hitch, her airbags deployed and she ended up in the ditch across the street. GEICO has not been able to talk to the truck driver that hit their client. So... their client was reversing in the middle of the road, but yet everyone else is at fault also! I am so confused! I broke down in the early evening and when I finally got home, I sent a quick e-mail to Geico to let them know I had broken down and needed my car towed to my home. That was approx. 10 pm. When I wrote to them. At 7:30 the following morning the car was sitting in my driveway. I then had a glass claim which was also addressed right away, when they came to my home and fixed it right away. The third claim came a day after that when I was hit and took out my whole driver's side. My insurance co. Treated me so well and were very helpful, especially after my interview with the agency of the guy that hit me, (Allstate) who spoke to me like I was a criminal or I did something wrong. What a crock. Telling me what I had to do. I called Geico and they told me I did not have to do anything that Allstate was telling me. So, I file through my company and they go after Allstate.

I was treated like a queen by Geico and I will always stay with them. Geico is so fast to help and so good in the way they treat folks. I am so thankful to Geico for all they have done for me. I have not had a claim with them ever and I've been with them for years now. What a wonderful insurance company for sure. Thanks a million Geico.

I want to let everyone know that Geico Insurance is a complete ripoff. I use to let them take money directly from my checking account every month. They were very prompt at first. Then they became very Lackadaisical. I have never seen such incompetence before in my life. They had permission to take money out on the 20th of January and yet they tried to take it out on the 23rd. They blame this on my bank. And they claimed the money was not there. My bank has a statement that shows close to $300 for them to take $50 dollars out. I can show anyone this if they don't believe me. I told them 3 days later that I will no longer need Geico because another insurance carrier is lower and can beat their price. But they continue to insure my Lexus and F150. I tried to tell them the situation and they want to know my new insurance company. It is none of their business.

So, after 2-3 weeks I get a statement in the mail saying they want $70 plus. I don't owe you that much. They claim otherwise. So I just make a complaint with the BBB. But I call them up and speak to a lazy worker and make a $20 payment with my checking account. I specifically ask this employee if I will get another bill in the mail as a receipt and I will make another payment. He reassures me that I will get another form in the mail and I can make another payment. Well people, this never happened. I received a collections paper stating they want $54.

Please do not trust this company. I paid the entire bill and asked for them not to contact me at any point. Please people, I can validate all my information. They claim it's a bank error. My bank is very meticulous and precise. I would not ever trust Geico. I am very sympathetic to everyone who has used this insurance company. Please complain to your secretary of state also. Everyone should be aware of this behavior. If they stole money from me, they will steal money from you. Verbal contracts are binding in the court of law.

GEICO first offered to pay 10% of my claim and we declined because we are not liable by any means. Several MONTHS later they offered to pay 75% of the claim. We declined again because we are NOT AT FAULT. We told them they need to pay our claim by 100%. It is the end of April and they still have not paid their claim. I guess this is how they save people 15%... by not paying their claims...

I was about to buy auto insurance for personal usage and since I was self employed with my own business they were asking the name of my business plus ownership of my business which clearly had nothing to do with your auto insurance. I highly encourage you to stay away from company who thinks to profile your life and privacy to sell more products. I also spoke with their supervisor and she was very sneaky and precautious to give me those political statements to cover up the useless questions that their sales licensed person has asked and without any rational reasoning and apologies she just escaped from conversation.

If you like your own privacy and would not like to be investigated with insurance company to sell more of their products to you stay away from this one. I have tested other companies and none of them will ask you these type of questions which are not related to auto policy.

I called them and they said I could take a defensive driving course (not free) and they would lower the cost by $169 a year. Once again the math says they are full of it. However my vehicle was nearly finished with the turn and was hit on back end back passenger door and quarter panel by the other driver's car's front end. The other driver also had GEICO insurance.

Geico displayed very unprofessional, and malicious character by withholding my legal rights to retain my totaled vehicle, a 2013 Hyundai Sonata, fully loaded at three months into the purchase. My car was in an accident on March 3, 2017, leaving me mentally and physically upset and anguished. Shortly after the accident, Geico decided to total the vehicle, in no time, 6 days later March 8, 2017. After repeatedly stating I didn't want the car totaled, I instead preferred repairs for it. Geico representative stated each time when I requested how much the damages of the car would cost; she states, “We are still working on the numbers, but we are totaling the car." She repeatedly states, giving me RED FLAGS. After waiting 3 more days, to my surprise, the IAA salvage company calls me for permission to take the car. At this time, we refused to give a verbal consent to release the car until we received the estimates for the damages.

Meanwhile, my belief is Geico had no intentions of offering me my legal rights to keep my totaled car, and to allow a 2nd estimate for repairs. March 8, 2017 when Geico reviewed the damages, it was 3 weeks later when Geico Management assisted. After the 3rd settlement was offered on March 24, 2017, at no time was there any consideration shown or loyal customer service promised, or an offer to repair up to the value of the damages. That's why it was very important to have the cost of damages. After the 2 weeks, the settlement was decided then j rental car returned. I located my car at the salvage company. The information disclosed on the salvage database included the sale of my car for $8,900 for the rear end damages. Geico decided to sell my car to someone else, received a payment the same amount that would have repaired my car at my choice of shop.

The unethical way Geico handled my property, was for the benefit of the company instead of a loyal client. This demonstrates poor customer service, to the policyholder, and the car owner. Knowing the car was only 3 months since purchased, there was nothing wrong keeping the car from being driven, only the appearance. I've nearly lost my job, gained no money from insurance, as well as forced to search for another vehicle to purchase. This is severe mental anguish, that should have been avoided if my rights, and options had been disclosed to me from the beginning as professionals would do.

Are negative stars possible? I had GEICO for about a month. My previous insurance company sent a termination form to my state DMV when I switched coverage. GEICO never sent an update that I had new insurance with them, making it look like I had no insurance at all to my State. I got a letter from the DMV (March 1) saying they need to show I had no lapse in coverage or they would revoke my plates. So I called GEICO to have them send the form they should have sent to begin with. (Beginning of March.) I left GEICO to go back to my previous insurance when GEICO quadrupled my rate one month into the policy with no tickets, accidents, changes to policy, etc. WHAT?! That's it - I just got a letter saying that my rate would go from $125 to over $600 - no explanation. No brainer, I went back to Progressive.

About 2 weeks after having them send the form to the state, I got another letter from the DMV saying I had one week or my plates would be revoked because they had not received the FS-4 form from GEICO. I called GEICO and had them send the form AGAIN, (March 30) and asked for a copy to be emailed to me - they refused saying they could only send it in the mail (which would be past the date of plate revocation - April 5). I patiently waited on my mailed copy - which arrived the day after my plates were revoked. I called the DMV - they still had not received the letter from GEICO. I asked if I could bring in my copy, when I noticed that the person who sent it had inverted the inception and termination dates showing that the policy was terminated before it ever began. The DMV refused to take it.

I called GEICO a third time to get a corrected FS-4 form and have them fax it directly to the DMV agent I was working with and send me a copy. I'm still waiting for my copy of course. Does it matter? No - we are way past the DMV deadline. I have to wait a few days to verify with the DMV that this has been done correctly for the third time - *meanwhile, it's now April 7th, and I cannot drive to work, the grocery store, etc, because MY PLATES HAVE BEEN REVOKED and I will get a ticket if pulled over.

Thanks GEICO. I will never be a customer again, and I'll be sure to tell my friends and family about the terrible service and experience I have had. Fifteen minutes can save you 15% or more? No - Progressive is 1/4 the price of GEICO. Not to mention, the six weeks of trying to get you to send a simple FS-4 to my DMV so that my plates aren't revoked, and I'm still waiting on that to be resolved. And I can't drive my vehicle. I'm furious. You're a terrible company.

I have been a Geico customer for about ten years now, with never any issues, however this month they informed me that they are going to raise my rates substantially(over 100.00 a month more). For their justification they listed 4 separate instances over the past 2 years, one was understandably an at fault accident with one of my kids, but the other 3 were no fault accidents that didn't even involve them (the other insurance company accepted full liability and paid in full). Their reasoning is that if you have that many occurrences in that period of time statistically you are more likely to get into additional accidents. That logic would hold up if they were at fault accidents. I have lost all respect for these people, and I strongly discourage anyone from doing business with these people.

I was in a car accident nearly a year ago. I did not think it was my fault but Geico refused to investigate even though there was a video tape available. They did not bother getting the video tape. I took my car for a damage estimate and was given a check. Soon after, the Geico adjuster called me stating I should not cash it because it should be made out to me and not to me and the bank financing the car. The car was already paid for and the check had been made out to me. I told this to the adjuster but she would not listen and cancelled the check anyway. In going through my records I found that Geico had given me a check for $250 which I had never cashed. I asked them to re-issue the check and they said they would.

Nearly a year later I still don't have the $250 check or the one for my repairs. Geico did send me a check for the repairs but I did not cash it right away because I kept waiting for the other check so I could use both to pay. This because I had a deductible so the check they gave me did not cover all the repairs and I need the $250 check to help. Then I got a call from the Geico adjuster stating they would reissue the check they had sent me because it was probably no good anymore. The check was good but that was canceled anyway. Then another Geico adjuster called me and stated she could not re-issue the check because it had to be made out to both me and the bank. This is the exact opposite of what she told me not to cash the first check.

By now I was fed up with all this and told the adjuster to send me the check or I would file a complaint. Today I got the check in the mail and it was made out to the bank and not to me. No promises of getting the $250 check were ever kept. Their stories keep changing and I believe they are lying to me and trying to get out of paying me. Three times they promised to send the $250 check and never did. I am very disgusted and frustrated and I put in a call to a lawyer and I'm waiting to hear back.

In March 2017, an insurance claim was filed with Geico after a policy holder struck my vehicle. The claim was submitted so that Geico could cover costs associated with damage to my vehicle. The damage occurred when a driver made in improper lane change and struck my vehicle. To assist with the handling of my claim, I provided Geico with a copy of the Georgia Uniform Vehicle Accident Report where the officer confirmed that an improper lane change occurred. The police report noted that the driver was issued a citation for failure to maintain lane/improper lane change. I also provided Geico with photographs of damage to each vehicle, photographs of the scene, and an aerial view of the accident site.

Several days later, a Geico Claims Adjuster called me and stated that Geico will not accept liability for the damage caused by the driver of the insured vehicle. They stated that the driver provided a version of the accident that is contrary to my statement of facts and facts stated in the police report. They said their decision to deny liability was based on their review of all information and the point of impact. They stated that only use accident reports as a tool and have not used facts within it as a basis to accept liability. However, they have provided no tangible basis for their denial of liability, they provided no evidence to support a contrary view of facts surrounding the accident, they apparently did not utilize a trained accident investigator, and they appear to have relied on lies told by the vehicle driver as a way to avoid paying a legitimate insurance claim against their insured.

I have heard that many Geico policyholders have had similar experiences. For these reasons, I believe Geico has engaged in unfair, deceptive, and abusive acts and practices and has acted in bad faith. Do yourself, your friends, and your family a favor and let everyone know why not to do business with them. You may save a few dollars/month upfront, but I can assure you it will cost you much more in the long run.

I urge that you obtain coverage from a company that treats their customers with respect. Worst! Do Not get Geico unless you never plan to have someone hit you. So where do I even begin. Let's first start with the fact that I filed a claim after my vehicle was totaled in March 11, 2017 with a police report showing the other driver is at fault. I filed the claim right away and I uploaded all pictures and evidence I have and nobody reviewed it. I've called them 6 times and every time I call it's a new person and nobody knows anything. I was assigned a claim specialist from my insurance that never even returned my phone calls. Nobody has called me but the person that looked at the car, he want to tow the car so they don't have to pay storage fees and force me to agree to their value.

The website app you submit your stuff to (I submitted my pictures), I don't think any one body even looks at it. Every time you call it's a new person that answers the phone and asks you the same questions over and over again. It's back to step 1. Since it wasn't our fault I was waiting for the other insurance to pay and closed the claim but it looks like was going to take longer so I decided to have my insurance (Geico) pay and cover the claim at the meantime and later they will request to be paid back from the other insurance. I had one adjuster came from the other insurance to evaluate my car a lot faster than my insurance. However my insurance also sent out an adjuster to evaluate the car (finally after 2 weeks) and their evaluation was almost $2000 lower than the other insurance. I tried to get more details from the my own insurance appraiser but instead of getting help I was beating by them.

My daughter was dealing with an adjuster from Geico. His name Nicholas **. He basically gave my daughter the total and I can't do anything about it (not helpful at all). So we asked for his supervisor's name and phone and he did provide me with his supervisor name and phone Jason **. And when I called him this is when I was shocked by the way he handle my call, unprofessional and my question to Geico now "if this is one of the management team how is the rest of the team?" Jason wasn't even listen to me so he can understand my question to him but he kept talking over me and not letting me finish my sentence.

I would recommend Geico to provide more training to their employees especially if they have a management title. This is look super bad and I would never recommend Geico to anyone. When they say you get what you pay for, well Geico is like the $0.99 menu at MacD but you have to pull it out of the ground, wash it, cut it, cook it, wait, give 20% of it back to them. You are better off paying a bit more. Don't let the little green lizard sell you. Geico is HORRIBLE!!! I forgot to mention too the Auto Damage Supervisor Jason was taking advantage and discriminating since my English was not perfect... Shame on you GEICO.

I was rather surprise and ask him to list what's included in my policy so I may compare it to State Farm. Everything checked out just fine. I proceeded to print my insurance cards and wait for my package in my mail.

Two months later still didn't receive anything so I tried logging into the site only to find out that my policy will be cancelled within a month so I called Geico. They claim that they had sent out a questionnaire that had to be answered and returned within a certain amount of days. I explained to them that I haven't received anything at all from Geico in the mail period. They had no intentions of sending me another questionnaire until I brought up the fact that I would contact their corporate office. They fax me over the questionnaire which I was unable to read because of the clarity, I called and explained that I could hardly read what's on the questionnaire which they claim once again that they're not allowed to fax over more than once so I brought up corporate office yet again and this time I was faxed over the papers I needed that happen to be in perfect order.

I filled the papers out and fax it back to Geico only to receive a call the following day saying that my policy will still be cancelled. I ask why and they stated that the information I provided when I signed up was different from the answers on the questionnaire which I told them was a lie. I told them to listen to the phone call and they will hear everything I stated is the same as the answers on the questionnaire. The representative said not every call is recorded and even if my call was recorded it would have been deleted by now so I just have to take her word that my information I provided was inconsistent with each other. That really annoyed me cause I know they're lying for a fact and can't even tell me what part was inconsistent so I'm about to file a complaint. Don't trust Geico at all.

However, I was not able to get a credit as they only give it within 30 days! In addition, I found the service people wasted a lot of my time and I got nowhere trying to just get information and trying to hurry up the process.

I was struck on my scooter by a Geico member. The adjustment quotes I received not only fail to provide an equal replacement, they are actually an "insult" to the victim of the accident. While told that the adjustments were made by a 3rd party to ensure "impartiality", the truth is this 3rd party in partnership w/ GEICO including its own adjustment factors simply cranks numbers based upon a year and mileage of a vehicle w/out any consideration of: (a) the condition in which it was kept AND (b) the victim's ability to find an equal replacement within a reasonable distance of the community. So here we have a multi-billion $ company w/ its popular gecko scamming the victims of its customer's accidents versus displaying full integrity and consideration to ensure they are provided with a vehicle that reasonably provides equal value and comfort. INDEED, if correct, this review tops now a list of #2886 others, mostly negative. Shame on Geico!

I have used Geico for 20 years. Two years ago I had a minor no fault fender bender and used Geico for that; I asked them carefully how much a claim would impact my rates and they said due to my longevity it would not raise my rates. During my recent experience, I found out it did. I called in to let Geico know I was moving back to CA from Illinois in 30 days and would need a policy change. I told the agent I had a permanent address in CA. At that he began to change the policy to CA that minute, though the car was not yet here. At the same time he let me know that the CA rate, which was around $300 when I had it last, would now be $780 - and that was a combo of rate increases in CA, and a change due to my claim. So I would now be paying an extra $400+ over the Illinois policy. But be that as it may - I had asked him not to start it immediately anyway - that it would be the end of the month before the car was here.

But then - here's the unbelievable part - he said he did not believe me, and then started to go ahead and set up the CA policy! I was telling him, no, no, no - and then in despair I hung and called back to try to get someone else. Meanwhile he had finished setting up the CA policy and I no longer had an Illinois policy. (And the car is still there - and Illinois insurance laws are easily as tough as CA.) Needless to say I cancelled and got new insurance with another company.

However, in my conversations with Geico not one rep even understood what I was saying - and each one said the sales rep was within his rights to close my Illinois policy and open one in CA because he had essentially 'caught me lying'. (My own impression was that he was partially napping through most of my into speech about how I was here and the car wasn't yet.) This was a nightmare. Of course they cannot open a new policy for me to 'teach me a lesson', though they could have refused me service or something. I must say it was the most astonishing and weird experience I've ever had with a company. Did Trump buy out Geico for one of his kids?

Farmers said, while their insured hit me, the police report said fault could not be determined. I was delayed in getting them title since I was out of the country, but did it as soon as I got back to the USA. I was quoted the same price for the payout after my deductible on 3 separate occasion by two different Geico employees.

A month after they received my title, and two phone calls from me later to try and figure out what was happening, I received a payment that was close to $1,000 less than what I had been quoted 3 separate times with absolutely no explanation. It took me 7 phone calls of varying lengths and aggravation, and over two weeks to finally get Geico to agree to pay me the amount that THEY had determined my vehicle was worth: i.e. the number that they came up with, not me. I was also told that they adjusted the amount AFTER they had received my title. When I first confronted them about the difference, they were apologetic but seemed unwilling to adjust the amount to what they originally quoted. It was after a stern conversation and bringing up the possibility of opening a complaint with the Department of Insurance, Licensing and consulting with a lawyer that they took action to honor their original amount.

So where do I even begin. Let's first start with the fact that I filled a claim after I discovered my car was hit in the parking lot while I was at work. I have phone records that I called Geico and my family after the incident happened and pictures of the damage which I uploaded to the claim on Geico's website. I tried to get in touch with my claims adjuster for over 2 weeks after I opened the claim but I never received a call back after over 5 messages left and complaints to the website online complaint center. I was finally contacted by a new adjuster who said like it was a normal thing "oh sorry the last person assigned to you was promoted so she neglected all of her clients for weeks." What kind of business is this that a managers didn't even realize or care that their employees are not answering or responding to their clients.

This was the first headache of many that I had with this claim. I should have taken it as a sign and symbol of how Geico treats their customers and switched insurers right then and there but unfortunately you can't do that. Anyway the next steps were for me to go through a recorded statement over the phone with an adjuster which I did. After that I dropped off my car for an inspection and to get repaired, the damage wasn't significant and only showed $1.8k in damage. The Geico body adjuster at the repair shop gave me a rental car, which he stated would be 100% covered, based on my insurance. I said great and left for work only to get a call on the way from the other Geico adjuster, who works in an office and who I never I recorded my statement with, that I was being investigated and the repairs and rental were not yet approved so I would have to pay for the rental car out of pocket.

Then she proceeds to tell me that having the rental car without claim approval was actually illegal on my part and I was breaking the law, even though the Geico body adjuster at the shop gave it to me!! I was outraged especially because I didn't even need the rental car since I lived so close to work and I even asked the Geico body adjuster numerous times if it was covered and I was assured it was by him! It then became apparent that the adjusters for Geico do not communicate with each other nor do they care about their customers.

I tried to return the car the next day, a Friday, at the repair shop and after being assured my car would be ready to swap for the rental car I had, however, when I arrived I was told by the receptionist that my bumper was off of my car and I would have to wait another three days to swap cars because nobody worked on the weekend. At this point I was very angry and upset that I was lied to twice by the Geico auto body adjuster at the repair shop (1st that the rental was covered and approved, 2nd that my car was ready in the front of the shop to swap for the rental). So much of my time, money, and energy have been wasted by this point that I was ready to cancel my insurance and just pay for everything out of pocket since it would be less of a nightmare.

When Monday comes I make arrangements to leave work early to meet with a Geico investigator to again explain my claim and try to return the rental. My anger has subsided after the weekend passed but quickly came back once the office adjuster assigned to me called to let me know that the body adjuster filled two more claims on my car for tiny dents and they wanted statements on those as well. This is illegal for Geico to do without my permission by the way, but they filled them anyway.

The problem with these claims is that they will show up on my driving record forever and if I try to switch insurers, which I am planning to do, the new insurer will see these and can keep my rates higher as a result. I then demand to speak with my claims adjusters boss which I am transferred to but does not answer his phone. I leave a message with a laundry list of complaints but never got a call back, a week has gone by now. I beyond annoyed and distraught over the service I have received at Geico and I can't even comprehend, as a business woman, how this company is still in service with people so incompetent working for them.

First I would like to say I was a customer for 10+ years and had no complaints against GEICO until now. I added my daughter to my policy last year since we were both on her title and advised the agent that she had a SR-22 due to a DUI. I was given a quote and shortly after, I was notified that my insurance was increased to double what it originally was. I called and found that once they verified my daughters' driving issue which caused the increase. The agent said they could not remove my daughter until I had proof that she had another insurance so I told my daughter she would need to obtained her own insurance and provided proof of her new insurance as soon as her documents were received.

I was told my policy would be evaluated and the rate would be adjusted. This took 5 months and I paid a total of $269.20 over what I should have been charged. I can understand charging me the difference for 1 month since this all took place mid-cycle, but not 5 months. I noticed the rate was finally adjusted on the current bill today and called to see why I was not refunded the difference and I was told that since the change took place after the renewed premium was calculated it could not be adjusted. I then asked if anyone there could override this and was told no. I asked the agent to note my file that I would be obtaining another policy elsewhere and she said she would.

I immediately changed insurance providers and called back to advise to cancel my GEICO policy. The agents were polite, but at no time did the agent try to inquire with anyone else if anything could be done such as a provisional credit. Not only does the insurance I now have, have the capability to adjust the insurance rate immediately if I make online changes to my policy, but the policy is exactly the same as what I had with GEICO for a lower rate. Now I will wait to see how long GEICO will take to refund me the difference for the payment that I made for the rest of this billing cycle. I gave a fair rating only because for the majority of the time I was pleased, but GEICO will continue to lose customers if they keep their shady policy of not being upfront with this "no refund" once a policy is changed. I am very disappointed in GEICO.

When I asked why so high in rural Georgia she told me because there are so many deer accidents that total cars. I actually questioned her at length regarding this versus hitting other vehicles with drivers that could be injured. She assured that she was accurate.

Well when my daughter spoke with a rep. from CA she was told that the rates would be more than twice what she was quoted in GA. This rep could only apologize and said that we were mis-informed. After being an insured driver under this insurance company for more than 5 years with no issues or complications, it is disheartening to say, I am so disappointed by the company. After being told I had to combine insurances with my fiancé, they incorrectly entered my information then misinformed the DMV of my "lack of insurance" although I was still paying it and after I get pulled over for bad plates, they refuse to pay or even reimburse me for the charge. Now is that good customer service? I do not think so. Is it my fault the employee incorrectly transferred over the information? No. Is it my fault they then sent that information to the DMV and had my registration ceased? No. Is it their responsibility to rectify this issue and simply reimburse me for this temporary permit I now have to get due to their error? YES! However they are not going to do that.

So after speaking with 2 representatives, one who was extremely frustrating for her argumentative demeanor "Paulette" and the other who was able to quickly transfer me over to the supervisor who upon apologizing was still unwilling/"unable to do anything about it", I have decided to change my insurance after my policy is up. Personally a company that is unwilling to admit fault and reimburse someone for an issue they caused, is not the type of company I would like to stay with. It says a lot about the company and their values. I heard Progressive is pretty good, anyone have any suggestions?

She doesn't own a car and isn't exact driving but I began shopping around to see what it'd cost me. When I logged into my Geico account and used the quote option they automatically took it upon themselves to add her to my policy and increased my monthly bill by $400. My wife had an accident where this car entered the carpool lane illegally (because there was only one person in the car) and rear-ended her car causing my wife a mild concussion and lost of days of works. The Crooks came to my house to take pictures of the accident and were forcing my wife to take a check for $1,000 for all damages. When my wife refused they turned very violent toward her and few days later they denied liability to pay all my wife medical bills, stating that the bumper of the car absorbed all the damages and all of the sudden they are doctors because they think my wife did not incur in any injury even though she has present them with 3 different reports that said otherwise. If you have Geico, please I urge you to cancel it immediately because maybe you will save some money monthly, but when it comes to an accident they are the biggest and most dishonest criminals in the insurance market.

A few weeks ago I was involved in a mini accident. A Geico insurer ran an all way stop sign and hit me in the rear of my passenger side and my back wheel/tire. Driver admitted to me he did not stop and kept apologizing. His passenger kept asking if I was ok. Anyways to make a long story short, the driver insisted that I did not call the cops and he insisted in paying me off. He called me so many times after the incident after we agreed to meet at an auto body shop later in the day. On my way to the shop driver told me he was unable to come and to let him know the cost. I contacted him after the shop estimated my damages. When I told him it's over $1000 he then started to accuse me of running the stop sign.

I contacted his insurance Geico right after explained to them what happened and off the bat before even seeing my vehicle the representative stated all they will pay me is 50% since it's my word vs his. Common, how I can run the stop sign if my vehicle was hit in the back. Anyways after that I contacted my insurance, they came to inspect my vehicle and they sent me my estimates right away. It was over $1000 as the shop said.

Geico called me back a week and a half after stating they will pay me 85% again not even seeing my vehicle damages. The inspector came yesterday gave me an estimate of $700 and change. To my curiosity I kept asking how can it be $700 less that the estimate than the shop and my insurance. The inspector said that's what he sees. Geico is such an unfair insurance company. No wonder wack ** drivers take this insurance it matches the driver. It is going on three weeks now. I have not received payment and I am unable to use my vehicle. If I can sue this company I will.

Worst! Do Not get Geico unless you never plan to have someone hit you. About 6 months ago I change my 2 cars and motorcycle to Geico and saved about $380. 2 weeks ago a truck hit my van with a full police report showing the truck driver is at fault. Geico didn't get the police report, (told me they didn't need it, it would take them 4-6 weeks to get it) I had to go get it from State police and pay $10. After I uploaded it nobody reviewed it, I've called them 6 times and every time I call its a new person and nobody knows anything about the case. They are giving me $2000 less than what the van is worth, saying the van is totaled, holding me accountable for the $1000 deductible and not the other party, saying I might get my deductible back.

All they care about is towing the van out of the auto body show to total the van and sell it at auction to get their money first before they pay me. Nobody has called me but the person that looked at the van, he want to tow the van so they don't have to pay storage fees and force me to agree to their value. Nobody has called me for 2 weeks! The website app you submit your stuff to (I submitted my towing bill, pictures, hotel cost, medical bill the next day), I don't think any one body even looks at it. Every time you call its a new person that answers the phone and asks you the same questions over and over again, its back to step 1. Every person you talk to is polite but its all scripted like a robot, what you get is the silent treatment and a app and website.

I've been driving since I've been 16 1/2 and 40 now, Geico is the Worst insurance company I've had to deal with. I've already insured my used new van back with Farmers insurance. Saving $380 a year not worth losing hours of your day dealing with stuff Geico should be doing for you, and paying you less than market value for your vehicle, holding you accountable for deductible when you are not at fault, not calling you back, having nobody that knows your case. If you need help after hours or the weekend you get a person that says they only type things into the computer. Call back on business hours. When they say you get what you pay for, well Geico is like the $0.99 menu at MacD but you have to pull it out of the ground, wash it, cut it, cook it, wait, give 20% of it back to them. You are better off paying a bit more, don't let the little green lizard sell you. Geico is HORRIBLE!!!

Then after they lost 70k they increased our insurance cost by 300 percent. Had they support us in court and requested the camera at the intersection they would have found the other person 100 percent at fault. I called to ask to move my due date back 10 days. After my husband recently lost his job, paying our car insurance with the same paycheck I pay the mortgage was causing us to be low on funds for that pay period. I called to request that they allow me to move my due date to make things a little more manageable (even before he lost his job we were stretched thin by having them on the same pay period). The CS agent informed me that doing so would result in my policy increasing by $15 a month, every month!

I in no way see how the same coverage would cost me more to pay 10 days later each month. He then encouraged me to just leave it as is, and just pay it late every month, and that I would get letters each month telling me they would cancel it if I didn't pay by a certain date, but wouldn't be penalized for paying late. Increasing premiums because my policy's due date would be 10 days later is not justifiable, and telling me to just pay late every month and get threats of policy termination is unconscionable.

I switched my auto from Liberty to Geico over the phone and the broker who I spoke with and signed up with lied. First he told me if I had Geico as my primary for medical instead of my health provider for some crazy reason the auto is cheaper. This made no sense but he swore to it and told me I would save $X. My mistake I believed him. After I signed up a bill came in. I called and got another broker who told me the initial broker "was mistaken" and that's why there is a bill. He changed the policy to what I requested and the bill became a credit, my first screwing.

Secondly, the initial broker told me no reason for me to contact Liberty. They will be notified on the day my Geico policy starts and the Liberty will end. My second error I did not call Liberty, because I believed the liar. A few days later Liberty takes out payment from my checking account and I screw up and don't call assuming that things got crossed because my life was going crazy at that point. Then, I forgot about it until I saw Liberty took out the second month's payment. I called Geico and I am told "sorry for the inconvenience" and they ask me for the phone number to Liberty. So now I am out $1000, I have double insurance for two months and while the Geico customer service person is on the phone to speak with Liberty I must stay on the phone. So Geico doesn't care about my time or my money. The agent should be FIRED and lose his license.

I switched to Geico 6 months ago and this weekend I had an accident while I was out of town in the middle of a large snow storm in North California in Lake Tahoe. I have had the absolute worst experience with GEICO -- they don't help you. I have spent on average 22 hours over the phone talking to them within a 4-day period. I had to do all the legwork setting up everything during and after the accident. Even though they charge monthly for "emergency roadside assistance," service, they made me call all the tow-truck companies in the area (in the middle of a snow storm, with the energy & wifi going off and on because of the storm -- trust me it was a hell of an experience) for Hours (it took me approximately 18 hours to get the tow truck, which I had to do it all by myself).

All GEICO does is sit back, and wait for you to call expecting you to be an expert in these situations and expecting you to have all the tow-truck companies' information. Also every ** time I would call, I would get a new person, and that person would ask me the same ** questions, which I had to explain every single time what was going on because there is not organization, no accountability, and they won't give a ** about you.

DO NOT USE GEICO. They expect you to do it all. If you want something from them like a tow truck, you better pay out of pocket, do it all yourself, and then request a reimbursement (there goes more wasted time/effort). Every time you call, it is an hour ordeal, and at the end of the call, we don't tend to progress. It is the same thing with every person I speak to. This is so frustrating. I hope I could take this issue to a corporate manager or someone that would be interested in making this corporation better for the customer if they care. Again DO NOT USE GEICO. I've had several insurance companies in the past, and I've never had close to such experience.

The only thing I was concerned about is that they increased my rates, but that's normal practice in the auto industry.

So here is my horror story. Keep in mind I've had the same crappy plow truck for 5 years with the same full coverage insurance just in case it breaks down and also to cover the plow since it costs a pretty penny to have my plowing done by someone else if my plow was broken in an accident etc... Well 4 months ago, I had a vehicle vandalism. Someone broke into my truck in November, stole the battery, cut 48 wires under the hood and dash, stole the starter, the wiring for the plow, the plow controller, and a myriad of other things. I didn't have security cameras and the insurance agent, in all her wisdom (Cheryl of Minnesota), decided it was likely a fraud case. ON A TRUCK WORTH MAYBE $1000 AT BEST!

Anyways, they investigated me for over 2 months. During that time it snowed several times costing me $400 in plowing expenses. Finally, their fraud investigator calls me and specifically says, "Is there anything else you want to tell me? The truth will come out you know." I said, "well my truck was vandalized and you guys can't get your stuff together". Luckily, the neighbors (a Kindercare next door) had their buses parked 10 feet from my plow and also had all their mirrors stolen off their buses the same day. They called to verify that fact 2 months later and were able to determine that I wasn't trying to commit insurance fraud.

Now skip ahead another month. I end up having to buy a new truck to get prepped to put a plow on it thinking there's no way they're going to fix it and if so it won't be before winter is over at this rate. Well, they decided that this rusty, plow truck with literal holes through the cab to the outside, is worth $1900 to fix. So, they tell Friendly Chevrolet to fix the damn thing. They fix it and because it had been sitting so long, the fuel pump now no longer works and the guy at the dealership says they won't fix it as it was unrelated to the vandalism. So, now I'm out the cost of that. They also haven't paid the dealership for the repairs yet (going on 2 weeks now), and they also are refusing to cover my plow, which I had taken an extra policy out on since it was the only thing worth money on that truck.

Now the kicker on the plow theft is... They won't cover it because at the time of theft it wasn't on the truck. Fair enough right? Well the thing of it is... it was on the truck when the vandals took it off to try steal it. The tow truck that GEICO sent to pick up the truck from my parking lot, didn't take the plow with like he was supposed to and left it sitting right in front of where the truck was. Well, due to that error, the thieves then stole the plow that day or later that night, I don't know, I wasn't there. But, it apparently was my responsibility to secure an 850lb snow plow (with no truck to move it since they just towed my only way of moving it). How the ** was I supposed to do that?

I still don't have a running truck, I still don't have any compensation for the plow, nor do I have any hope of this being resolved anytime soon. Absolute nightmare of a company. Sounds great on the ads, but if you ever need to use the insurance, beware. They will fight you every step of the way and try and weasel out of paying on any claim using scare tactics, threats, you name it... I will never, ever use this company again and I will continue to share my horrible experience with anyone and everyone. AGH!

Seven days later I receive a letter that they are cancelling my policy effective March 11, 2017 as they claim someone came to my home on December 30, 2017 to visually "inspect" my roof from the street. They claimed my roof has shingles missing yet the pictures they have clearly shows no roof damage at all. I called them and demanded to know why they took my $1001 two weeks BEFORE this so called inspection on December 30th, started the policy on January 23,2017 and then cancel me. They couldn't give me any explanation, only that it was the underwriters that did it.

I reminded them that my mortgage statement clearly shows that Geico was the company that was paid the full years premium. Again no explanation. Fine, so I find a new insurance company and I call Geico to get my money back and they send me a partial refund. So I call them again and tell them "you still owe me another $79 dollars." They agreed but tell me I have to wait 30 days to get it! What kind of business is that?? They take my money over a month before the policy began... Earn interest on the money in their bank... Cancel me for no reason 7 days after the policy started... Make me run after my refund and not to mention messed up my escrow account. And when you call them all you get is a mindless operator who clearly is reading off a script. This company has poor customer service, but most of all questionable business practices that walk a fine line of fraud.

On March 10, 2016 a couple of weeks later I was rear-ended for the second time at a stop light on Lawrence highway in Atlanta, GA waiting for it to turn green, The person who hit my car took off like a bat out of hell and left me there crying and in extreme pain due to the fact I was just in an accident in Feb. contacted Geico insurance in tears and in pain while waiting for the police to come to my location.

I was in shocked that someone would hit my car and just leave me there. However, Geico representative was so rude and made assumption that I was responsible for both accident even disclaiming my injuries and treatment even though they received two separate police report and hospital bills. Both persons that hit me were 100% at fault. Fast forward to their investigation and five different people coming out to my home, my job and all came up with the same conclusion I was not at fault. That did not sit well with Geico who hired their own attorney a BULLY Female who tried to trick me up, but couldnt because the truth always prevail.

This attorney put me through hell even after telling her I needed to get back home to take care of my mom who was ill with cancer and in her final stage of death. Customer service dont give a dory (kind word) if I took my business cross the street. Incompetence at its finest!! My wife and I purchased insurance through Geico back in January 2016. We did save money initially but the problems soon followed. Not a month after we started policies my wife (fiancée at the time) and I both received letters from the Arizona Department of Transportation saying that our registrations would be revoked because we had no proof of insurance for our vehicles (a matter Geico insisted they handled). I called 2 more times and Geico never resolved the issue. My wife had to take a day off work to take proof of insurance into the DMV herself.

Strike One. After we got married in September we called to renew our policies. We were told that if we combined our policies as a married couple we would save some money. My surprise when the quote sent to my email was different than the one quoted over the phone. We didn't save money by combining, our policy went up 70 dollars and the coverages/driving histories were exactly the same as 6 months prior.

Strike Two. I received a renewal notice about a month ago (nothing has changed) but somehow my policy increased by 300 dollars. Strike Three. I have wised up and moved onto American Family now, but Geico got their last laugh in today. I received a letter from the lien holder on my jeep saying that because I did not have car insurance from September 2016 to January 2017 my payment for those months was increased by 120 dollars so that they could cover basic car insurance for their vehicle. That's right, when my wife and I combined policies it increased 70 bucks and Geico never reported my new policy number to my lien holder.

Now I have to square myself with the lien holder who might potentially report my "late payments" (as I was unaware of the additional cost until today) to the credit bureaus and ruin an 800 credit score. Thank you Geico so much. I trusted that smooth talking chap with that cute green tail only to find myself dealing with stupidity to last a lifetime. I could say more, God I could say a lot more but let me end with this. NEVER EVER EVER GET YOUR INSURANCE THROUGH GEICO!!!

I am writing this because today I was forced to cancel my policy with GEICO due to the fact that year after year they continue to raise my rates for no apparent reason other than "Due to the accidents within your area this is the cause of the increase" as the excuse used for why my rates have increased. I have been a loyal customer for well over 15 yrs. I have a clean driving record that I've maintained for at least 10 yrs now and I own my vehicle. There is no reason my car insurance for LIABILITY only has increased by almost 600$ since I signed up with this company. Nor is there a reason why I should be penalized for other people's driving abilities.

I even took the time out to call GEICO to ask for it to be reduced or re-evaluated and was told that this was the price; basically "so sorry, so sad but we can't do anything for you". So I found a rate with a company that not only beat their rates but also offered me roadside assistance that GEICO wanted to charge me additional monies for. I'm appalled at the way they have conducted business and how unwilling and unwavering they are in assisting their customers in saving money or getting more for their money. Instead they continue to gouge their customers with ridiculous rates and claim it's because of the surrounding area. I refuse to believe that I have to pay for other people's negligence. I feel bad for their poor customer service representatives that have to deal with the disgruntled customers on a daily basis due to their inflexibility to satisfy their customers.

My policy just renewed and I was surprised to discover I apparently have a 6-month policy when I had applied for an annual policy, and was more surprised to see a 23% increase in my premium in the auto pay amount, which they said I had to set up otherwise I would have to pay 2 months in advance for my policy, instead of one.

I just called GEICO and they told me that I should have responded to the letter, that they'd email me another letter. So I told them I don't have a printer, so they offered to mail me another letter and when I asked, they said they would not refund the inflated premium I had paid but that they would "adjust" the premium "going forward". I consider this a bait and switch scheme. Why should I have to verify that what I told them was the truth, do it in writing, and be penalized if I don't? I told him their "letter" should have check boxes and should say in HUGE letters that failure to respond would absolutely result in an increase in premium.

Our car was hit while parked at the hospital. The person left a note. What a blessing. We reported the claim, immediately our file was flagged because GEICO said we had just added the car. This policy is 4 years old and it started on this car. Both my wife and I work for GEICO. The first claims agent just didn't look to see we had updated our address. Probably a new hire mistake. Then we were assigned a seasoned claims agent (all employees are auto directed to a special department for claims agents). The agent we got told us we could certainly have a rental car if we were willing to file the claim through our own insurance because GEICO could not verify the responsible party.

I logged into the claims process online and found all the information the claims agent said was unavailable. So, I called American Family with their claim number from the GEICO site and processed the rental car and all of the features GEICO's agent said was not available unless I filed the claim through GEICO paying a deductible. I am sure the information would have been processed in 3 to 5 days had I not taken the lead but that isn't acceptable. It also isn't what the company promises. Had I not been employed by GEICO I would have had to blindly wait and possibly pay out the deductible waiting for reimbursement. Not acceptable.

I wouldn't expect my clients to tolerate that service and frankly I am disappointed.

Even though I wasn't found to be at fault for accident that totalled my new car which I bought less than 60 days prior, Geico pressured me to settle for less than $7000 than what I originally paid for the car. It was a economy, bottom of the line, tiny sedan, basic, literally did not even come with power locks and windows. I bought it from a local dealer in business over 15 years so I did not pay too much for this car and it was one of the lowest priced cars on the market yet Geico refused to pay me any more than $7000 less than I had purchased it less than 60 days prior to the total loss. They even gave me full retail value as they could see by the inside of the car when the claims examiner inspected, that it still looked brand new. It had $4000 miles on it, not at all warranting paying me 60% of the 100% I just paid 50 days prior.

However, when I argued my point as I had very good (or as I later realized), just very expensive insurance policy through geico, they refused to talk, only pacified me then although I only used one day of my rental coverage which was for substantially more than one day, they refused to honor my rental coverage with no justification as I still had not been compensated. Just a tactic to pressure me to settle with them for their offer which downright hurt my feelings more than anything. It was such a slap in the face.

I'm a widowed mother of two young boys under 13 years old and my parents who worked so hard for everything they had put $7,500.00 down on my car to help me as they are not well and worry as I just lost my husband of 25 years and my parents wanted to help me as they didn't want me broke down on the side of the road and they wanted to make sure I has reliable transportation for mine and their grandsons sakes. Geico took it all. I got $500 after they paid the finance company even though I put $7500 cash down on the car less than 60 days before.

What's worse is they paid my finance company off before consulting me first as I would have showed them my finance company included in their payoff to Geico an extended warranty totalling $1300.00 that they knew they would get a refund for. Which really left me hurting because the finance company got their check from Geico and their money for the extended warranty yet told me I would have to wait an additional 6 to 12 weeks for my $1300.00 back and that was 3 weeks after they got their payoff money from Geico.

So, 6 weeks after my car was totalled, I got pressured from Geico to accept $7000. 00 less than I spent on my car just 7 weeks prior. Myself, as Geico refused to honor the rental agreement I purchased from them so that I would be stuck with no transportation and have to settle for a $500 check from them, which won't even pay tax, and tag, much less a downpayment, I am stuck waiting an additional 3 more months maybe for a 1300.00 reimbursement from big corporate who are not out of one dime, just deciding to make me wait three months for my money back. And with no car, no job and no one but me to take care of two young boys under 13 years old.

Thanks Geico. You rock. And I can prove that every single statement I have written is the absolute truth. I'm lost and incredibly sad that consumers still have to fork out mega money on legal representation in order to not get completely screwed passed the point of total devastation by a company making billions to rob a struggling widowed mother of young kids.

I call GEICO to cancel my insurance and they say I have to wait until I return the plates to the DMV. Otherwise, DMV will charge me $8/day. No problem -- I understand the need to not allow plates to be reused improperly, but GEICO won't make the refund retroactive to the date they no longer have to be responsible for the car. Nice for them -- they get to collect extra days of insurance without any obligation to cover a vehicle (and I was told first I was only insuring the license plates, as if I was not insuring the car).

I called them back and asked to stop my insurance on the 9th! Now they are sending me bill for $10.99 extra bill for a day (9th) with a collection notice. I will never use their service again! Never ever let people use their service again! Dictator company! Terrible customer relation strategies!

When I noticed another premium increase on my auto renewal with NO losses during the policy period, I was perturbed and went to Geico merely because of their persistent marketing and name recognition. I requested a quote on the exact coverages I already have with Nationwide. I was not really expecting a material difference in premium but ended up with a quote saving me HALF of my current annual cost.

I initiated a chat with a Geico agent to confirm that the quote was accurate and asked if there was a bait and switch tactic used by Geico - I was particularly concerned about a single at-fault about three years ago and wanted to make certain that was considered in the quote. Agent assured me that mvrs were run during the process and the quote was accurate. I then called my current agent to advise her of this quote. My current agent had nothing negative to say about Geico and simply told me she could not compete with Geico's price. I am still feeling as if this is too good to be true, but I suppose only time will tell.

I has been insured with Geico for years. Recently, my Geico policy was cancelled due to nonpayment, automatic debit did not go through. When I called to restart my policy they told me I would need a downpayment in addition to the payments that did not process. When I asked how much the downpayment would be to restart my policy, the agent told me they couldn't tell me until I paid what was owed. After paying almost $800, they tell me they can't reinstate the policy. "Sorry". I asked why they didn't tell me before I made a payment because I was left without insurance, now having to find and pay another company. Seems like their practices were pretty shady, if not illegal to me.

Unfortunately, I was involved in an accident with a car insured by Geico. I did not have a car for 2 weeks due to repairs and had to rent using the insurer's insurance (Geico). Geico dragged their feet for months to pay me back for the rental. I only rented the car for one week out of the two I did not have my car and they would not reimburse me for the full term of the rental (9 days). Beware they count only labor hours from the adjuster for the rental period and do not take into consideration any realistic time it takes to fix a car going through the insurance process (i.e. having available people on hand to fix the car, the time it takes the adjuster it goes to the shop to look at the car, and whether or not the parts are available the time your car is brought in).

I had to call so many times and supply so much information just to get back $500. Based on the experience of reimbursing only $500, I would never use them for insurance and would strongly urge anyone else against it too. My recommendation is they spend less on advertising and more on paying claims in a timely manner.

On December 18, 2013, my husband hit a car on back while parking due to a problem from his car. The other party does not live in Miami but Broward and was not present when the incident happened. My husband called me and we called police. The police officer made a report gave us a card with a report number and phone number to follow up. He also left one for the other party.

We called Geico a reported what happened. The representative gave us a claim number and let us to check the status online. I was the policy holder and added my husband to the policy. I checked the status many times and never found anything new. I had electronic mailing with Geico when renewing my policy. I decided to end it and requested to mail my policy paper information when renewing it. I found out in 2014 when we moved to a house and then noticed a big increase from our premium. Then, I decided to call Geico to find out why.

The representative told me it was because of the accident and they paid $2000 to the other party. I asked why I never received an EOB because as a policy holder I should receive one and Geico is making payment on behalf of me. I continued to tell him why Geico never send me any update and when I checked the status online it was still the same and nothing changed. He replied by saying they sent an adjuster to make an estimate of the damage of the car from the other party. I asked for proof like sent me receipt and EOB. He then said it was confidential and could not send me anything. He proceed to say he could send me a letter. I then said no. I need receipt from you that stated how much you paid because you would say the same thing information on the letter of what you were telling me over the phone. That was when I realized Geico did not pay but reported.

I would not mind at all if It paid because it would be fair. I wrote a review on its website but never published it because it was not a positive review. I then went to its Facebook page and wrote one. They finally answered but not much. I trusted Geico but never thought it was a greedy company. I never write review to bash any company, but I was very hurt and decided to write one about Geico. It is still now on my record. I filed a dispute yesterday with Lexis Nexis, a company that most insurance company use to run potential buyer report when getting auto insurance. I was told it will take 30 days to get a response. I write this review to help other consumers check their report and follow up with their insurance company to make sure they really pay when they increase the premium. I am sure most of the customers do not know or realize that.

I was rear ended by a person that is covered by GEICO. The person that hit me is 100% at fault. The car I was driving when I was hit was a 1967 Mustang GT Fastback (excellent condition). I just purchased that car the day I was hit. The damage was rear quarter, bumper, trunk face, gas filler... I had the car towed to a shop that works on classic cars and performs restorations (because GEICO said I can take it to the shop of my choice and they are 100% responsible for the damages). Well that is not so. The quote from the shop was $15,000 with 123 hours of labor. There is a lot involved to finding NOS parts and matching paint. Well GEICO came up with $4800 as their estimate and 49 man hours of labor. GEICO was only willing to pay $48 an hour labor to a custom shop that has a posted rate of $125 a hour.

Now I am stuck having to pay out of pocket for repairs and paying out of pocket for a lawyer in attempt to recover money that GEICO is not willing to pay. Would you trust a shop that is only making $50 a hour to work on your classic car. Oh did I mention this is on Long Island NY, one of the highest taxed and property prices in the country. And the Adjuster kept arguing with me over what a shop can charge and then I got his advisor on the phone and he also argued that any shop can repair my car. There was nothing special about my car.

Which I tried to settle well below his policy limits to make it faster. Since that didn't work I hired a lawyer who is now going after more than max policy and suing the insured for the remainder. I tried to switch from Arbella to Geico, for 1 year. Immediately after the initial quote, the policy came in the mail at a higher rate, which they state they have the right to do in Massachusetts. They can review the policy periodically and make changes. My daughter was rear ended at a complete stop in traffic, and we were surcharged, because they stated it made her a "higher risk" now, because she was a new driver. I was hit also in park, and my "authorized" repair shop, said they hated dealing with Geico. At the end of repair, my shop still didn't have a check, as in prior experiences, the Insurance Company always sends its driver the check to sign over to the shop. He only released the vehicle to me because he knew us. Then the rental, was paid by me, even though I had rental car on my policy. I went to Enterprise to return the vehicle and Geico refused payment.

Ok, it was a busy summer day at the airport and a line out the door, so I forked over my credit card, and paid it. I fought, and after 3 months, I was refunded through the guilty driver's company. Needless to say, I switched back to Arbella, and learned you get what you pay for. You will save money, no question, but ask the right questions about their right to change your agreed quote, and under what circumstances they can change your policy. WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO DO, DRIVE HALF A CAR? I too have notified the Florida Dept of Insurance and filed a complaint. As all of the other comments have stated, Geico balks at the idea of repairing a WHOLE car. Their preference is to repair half of a car, or as little as possible. My repair shop reported to Geico that as a result of an guardrail accident, my Mercedes was knocked out of alignment, and Geico's beginning the repair over a month later of the claim being filed, caused premature wear of the tires. One tire in particular, wore down excessively so I replaced it myself, while waiting on Geico. According to the repair shop that new tire too began to wear prematurely, Geico refuses to pay for repairs to my tires. The Geico Adjusters will not accept the mechanics expertise on repairs. Geico apparently wants to pay for as little as possible, as opposed to safely making needed safety repairs. So, they are setting up for the next accident.

I have been on numerous conversations with Corporate who flip it back to the field adjusters. The Manager of the adjusters in Treasure Coast Florida refused to answer my calls, or Corporate calls they placed to him, while I am on the phone! He later writes he made calls to me and left voice messages. How absurd! What a way to dodge responsibility! Geico apparently approves of such deceitful methods. I have been with them for many many years, but this event and the others I see written, confirm that the Geico is sick! I too will be seeking other carriers with more reliable insurance who REMEMBER what business they are in. I advise others to do the same before it happens to you!!!

I specifically inquired about their role in this area before purchasing their insurance. I was assured they would completely handle the contractor issues. Not true!

I am 65 years old and having to struggle with finding people to do roofing and carpenter work, and do it with a estimate from their emergency contractor that assessed my damage. This person was going to do the repairs and then they were gone. I have had 2 estimates since with no union with the multiple adjusters. The change of adjuster every month is absurd. My opinion of anyone shopping for coverage is go to a local company and pay a little more for an agent, and save yourself the extreme problems of dealing with someone 3000 miles away that avoid direct questions and real issues that impact your life and wallet.

We cancelled our auto and umbrella insurance policies because we sold the car and no longer have a need for the insurance. When I called to cancel the policies, I was told that there were remaining balances on each policy that would be refunded back to us. The auto policy credit would be refunded back directly to the account that was set up for auto pay, and the credit due from the umbrella policy would be mailed to us via check. I provided a new mailing address for the check to be sent to.

After waiting over three weeks and not receiving the refund to my account nor the check in the mail, I called customer service to find out where the refunds were. I was told that a check for the auto policy refund was sent to the old address, and the refund for the umbrella policy had not been processed yet. Since the check was sent to the incorrect address and hadn't been received yet (which should have been refunded directly to our bank account as I was told, not sent via check) I asked that they cancel the check and send it to the new address - the one I provided when I initially called to cancel the policies. They told me I had to wait 15 business days to receive the check at the correct address.

Since it has been more than 15 business days and no check, I called today to find out the status, only to be told that the check was never sent!!! They needed 15 business days to cancel the old check and then a new one would be sent 1-2 business days after that, but none of this was automatically done. In light of the fact that I have now had to call three times regarding this issue, I asked that the refund check be overnighted to me. They then told me that they could do that, but the cost to overnight it would come out of the refund amount. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!

I asked to speak with a supervisor who also refused to overnight the check to me without charging me for it, and after ma'am-ing me to death I told him that I would like him to send the refund check to the CORRECT ADDRESS and to know that we will never do business with their company again. He didn't apologize, just said, "Okay." WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE! In fact, I'd say that was no customer service. I can't believe I wasted my time calling these incompetents THREE TIMES regarding the same issue and offer an option to them to make up for their incompetence, and in turn, they basically, in not so many words, told me what I could do with that suggestion.
