My GEICO policy comes up for renewal every 6 months. Clean driving record and my rates have been going down for the last 3 years. This renewal period for July 2017 my policy increased $23.00 per month. I called GEICO and requested to know why as my driving record is clean and my car car is 7 years old and paid for. They said they have been undercharging the correct policy amounts for GEICO customers and they raised rates accordingly. While my new policy amount at $507.30 for six months is a good price, it is still more than the $483.58 last renewal in January 2017. No letter, no email, no mention these rate increases were taking place. I AM NOT HAPPY!

I was in a car accident on 7-7-2017. The lady ran into me on my left side. I was assigned a claims adjuster Stacy ** who has a very bad disposition and is also nasty and unprofessional. Today is 7-18-2017 and we still have no rental car and our car hasn't been fixed (it was undrivable due to the accident). She refuses to answer questions from my son who owns the car and refuses to work with my lawyer yet her answering machine states that she is there to provide great customer service. I really think GEICO should send her back through training because what my family have received is trash. The lady who hit me took full responsibility for the accident at the scene, so waiting this long for answers or respect is utterly ridiculous.

I have just come to realize after getting quotes from Travellers and State Farm that GEICO has been ripping me off for years with premiums that are double that of other auto insurance providers. I am currently paying $4297 a year for a 2010 Ford Taurus and a 2004 Dodge Ram Pickup. My driving record is excellent with no points and no accidents. I am a 52 year old male. My wife also has an excellent driving record. We have never filed any claims or been in any accidents.

Today I got 2 quotes online from Travellers and State Farm. They are both quoting me half (approximately $2,200 a year) of what I have been paying with GEICO for the last 7 years. Not only that but the coverage that GEICO is giving me is much less than the coverage offered by Travellers and State Farm. I am only getting $15,000/$30,000 in Bodily Injury Liability coverage with GEICO for my $4279 yearly premium. Travellers and State Farm would cover $250,000/$300,000. How does GEICO justify this. Is this legal? Do I have any legal recourse to get some of my money back? I am one pissed off consumer!

After years of using Geico, having a spotless driving record, and never having made a claim, my wife and I received a notice that our rates were increasing because the number of accidents in our state has increased ("texting while driving" was specifically named as the culprit). Geico targets inexperienced drivers with savvy marketing, and we've been planning to switch for a while, but spare time is a luxury when you and your wife are college professors with children. After being patronized by the manager of the call center, we will happily go elsewhere. We were essentially free money for Geico, so their unwillingness to budge on the rate was penny wise, but will prove to be pound foolish.

I was at a red light and was hit from behind. The teen driver stated she didn't see my car or the red light. She told me that she was looking at her phone. Dallas police came out, gave a ticket to the teen. She was driving with no license. The claims adjuster for GEICO auto (KALLON **) came out and look at my car on 07/06/17. I received a letter that said... "Dear Ms. ** (09/2012) Per Texas law, you have the right to choose where your vehicle is repaired and the parts used for repairs. However, an insurance company is not required to pay more than a reasonable amount for repairs and parts..." I started having pains in my lower back and neck. I went to my family doctor and paid out of pocket. This was on 06/20/17. He gave me a shot and muscle relaxer and told me to take OTC pain med and use heat and ice on my back and neck and if I still have pain then I might need to go see some who deals more with that and have x-rays and an MRI done.

The pain was getting worse so I went to North Dallas Pain & Wellness the following week and they took X-ray's and started working with me to help with the pain. I get a call today from the medical claims rep (Heather **) stating since it was not that much damage done to my car they will not pay for medical for me. She also stated that my age could be the problem for my back and neck pain. I ask her if she had an MD or Ph.D. if not she could not tell me what was wrong with me. Then she stated that any medical book would tell you after the age of 30 your body has problems, I advised her again until she becomes a doctor she could not tell me what is wrong with me. She said I could use my Insurance which is GEICO also or if I had a job I could use my health insurance. She said she would put all of that in writing and send it over to me.

I ended the call because at that time I was so mad I could have hurt her if she would have been near me. On 7.12.17 night I called back to customer service explain what went on, she email me (Heather **) supervisor name and number, I left a message for (Judy **). She called this morning say my age was the problem again and that her rep was correct. I need legal help my back/neck had no pain prior to this accident on 06.18.19... Why do I have to pay...

I had a automobile family policy with two cars for a year. I liked the GEICO rates, so I called to insure my aunt's car that came to live with us. GEICO launched a full investigation, mainly regarding whether I stole the car from my aunt, they interview me, my wife and my aunt. Finally, they asked me to return the car to my aunt??? Completely nonsense. They did not insure my aunt's car stating that I have to return the car. I was forced to drop my family coverage and found other insurance company - with no problems - all three cars insured. I have more to talk about CLAIMS. In short, they specialize in doing whatever it takes so you feel miserable. I was polite trying to make my case and they hang the phone on me.

There are quite a few glass shops with local area store front locations providing mobile windshield repair. Sgc network affiliates that use direct sales door to door marketing to get their name out. Also market online and social media. Never fixed a chip without the customer present for the entire process. Not involved in any fraudulent activities. But flagged for inspection with every Geico customer. I have talk to managers at geico and SGC they just repeat the word random over and over.

After reading up on it I see they are targeting door to door shops in an offensive accusation that anyone who passes out cards or flyers around the repairs they are doing for marketing and advertising. They must be doing something wrong. Thats not true. How long will it take before they see that and stop inconveniencing our mutual customers and back off. Our blood sweat and tears built our loyal customer base. We work very hard to gain new customers and we always keep their repeat business in mind. This inspection process is giving customers doubts and confusion. They see that the shop down the road does not have this problem. Geico lies saying it's random. Random is not every customer everyday. I need some help here. Can geico tell glass shops how to market their products? How many inspections do we need to clear our name with them. Or is there anything else that I can do?

GEICO uses unknown and undisclosed factors to charge exorbitant rates, then refuses to pay out on legitimate claims when an incident occurs. As of last year I was paying $3,800 a year for full coverage on a 2013 BMW 328i with $1,000 collision deductible and the minimum $15k/$30k liability. I have ONE point on my record and haven't had an accident in more than 25 years. Two months later—with NO new incidents or activity of any kind whatsoever—they raised my rate to $6,000 a year. Upon inquiry, their reason was that there was a "rate restructuring" and that I was considered a "risky insured." What the?!?

Fast forward to present time... My car was hit while parked and had a fair amount of damage to the front end. GEICO gave me a quote and I agreed to have the repairs done at their affiliated body shop. Upon completion of the repairs, which were $1,000+ more than the quote, I was informed they were denying the claim because their adjustor decided I must've been driving the car at the time the damage was incurred. My recourse was to spend a bunch of time and money going through an appeals process and/or to hire an attorney. GEICO is worthless and their conduct is egregious. There are plenty of other insurance companies out there and I strongly suggest that insureds seek them out and not fall for GEICO's cute commercials and introductory low rates.

Side note: I am not a habitual reviewer/complainer, this is the first time ever that I've publicly lodged a complaint against a company. My experience with them has just been unbelievably horrendous and I'm writing this in the hopes of saving someone else from making a terrible decision and giving GEICO thousands of dollars of their hard earned money only to find that GEICO's "coverage" is entirely arbitrary and there's little that can be done aside from spending more to fight a claim than the claim is worth. I would give them zero stars if I could.

When the car was ready to start there was damage to the fuel system, they refused to look at the reason for this damage. They left me in a bad position, paying insurance and car note for a car that had unresolved issues. They didn't follow up on this matter, it is costing me. I went online using the GEICO app this morning to get a quote for my son who does not live with me. After filling out the information and seeing what it would cost I cancelled the quote. Shortly after I received an email stating he had been added to my policy and that my new policy was increased by $274 for the remaining time. I immediately called GEICO and was told that because he is my son and he is in the home he has to be added. The first thing I said was "He doesn't live with me. He lives with his mom in Tucson and visits occasionally." Second I was getting a quote and how could they use that information and just add someone. I was upset and asked to speak to a supervisor. I was told one would call me within 2 hours. This never happened.

After about 2.5 hours I called and spoke with another person and was told the same thing. I then told her he doesn't have a driver's license and she said it didn't matter. He has access to the vehicle and could get in an accident. And it was GEICO's responsibility to protect me. I then said, "So even if someone is not legally able to drive and they are 15 or older, they have to be on your insurance?" And she said yes. I told her that was wrong and I would contact the attorney general's office. I also told her that my car could be stolen and that would mean I would need to insure everyone in the world just in case they drove my car. I told her GEICO was committing FRAUD by using a quote system to gather information and then use it to up rates and also to increase rates and add people without the insurer's permission or authorization.

A while back, the year of 2016, specifically the month of April, I had a massive car accident where I was at fault. At the time, I was a 21 year old male with an extremely fast car who was doing something stupid, which I can admit now. The reason why this is important is that this particular event was one of the most traumatic events any relatively decent person (as I've never been in trouble with the law or had even been sent to the principals office back in high school) could possibly go through.

I'll try to make a long story short by eliminating the minor details, however, let's just say Geico said that I was never covered for the accident - which was obviously bad, as it was deemed my fault - and the damages on my car alone exceeded 20,000 dollars and that was *only* body damage, as they deemed it totaled before they ever even looked underneath the exterior components.

The confusion came in when, it turns out, that one of their sales representatives sent me through a random auditing process because I had never had been on a policy by myself, before. However, I *had* been on a Geico policy since I was 15 years old with my learners' permit, provisional operators' permit, as well as my operators' permit. The thing that changes was the person who owned the car - It was me, instead of my father.

But I digress some of the smaller details, we ended up actually having to hire a lawyer and have him contact Geico, essentially demanding coverage for this particular case. So, why 4 stars? Why not 1 star? Why not none? Because the entire situation was caused by a single employee, not the corporation. It was caused by a sales representative, who wrote up her own quote (even though I had gotten a quote a day before) and forgot to uncheck a box that sent me through some random auditing process which caused a massive delay in which my policy was actually active. Therefore, for the first 5 days of my policy, they thought I was not covered because she also neglected to take out payment at the time (even though I asked specifically what day it would be taken out on).

In the end, yes, it was extraordinarily time consuming, however things were made right by Geico. They not only covered the accident and didn't drop me as a customer (which we believed was a possibility after causing literally over 25k worth of damage total), but they paid my lawyer's fees, as well, because they admitted that one of their employees made a mistake.

Yes, this situation could have been handled differently, but really, in the end I can see exactly how something like this could and did happen. I docked them a star, however, because I've asked for roadside assistance twice and the first time the tow truck driver was well over an hour late, didn't bother to call, and then said he would and never did (which was a separate company entirely and they allowed me to lodge a formal complaint against them - I also just canceled the tow).

Then the second time I asked for a tow, I was in a particularly rough part of town and the operator did all she could to find someone in my area who would tow me, but none would accept Geico payment (however they would have reimbursed me whatever I spent), to which I said no, because I found an alternative. Other than those two things, it has been a simple, easy going relationship with Geico and, hopefully, after my car sustaining heavy hail damage 2 days ago, it will continue to be a nice relationship. I suppose this rating will reflect that in the future. :)

I was a customer with business insurance for my work truck and two cars for about 10 years. Never had a claim or any tickets. Then one day I scratched the bumper of a car and immediately they tried to deny the claim stating I was using my work truck for work and was not insured as a work vehicle, which it was and took three days for them to figure out it was properly insured. It was a small amount to pay to fix scratch so I paid it out of pocket and switched insurance companies. After all those years of paying insurance premiums with no accidents and no tickets the first thing they did was try to deny the claim. Screw that, I can only imagine what would have happen if it was a serious accident.

THAT'S I know I make big mistakes because from GEICO I gets hard time, they want me to buy car seat out of my pocket. After that take pictures the old car seat, cut the straps, after that they send money. I have 3 kids so 3 car seat. My kids' old car seat Britax advocate $450+ tax=$480 each. So how I can buy 3 car seat in the same time? I have to spend almost $1500, I already say to them I don't have money for that and they still can't help. They say I have to cut the olds car seat first.

I feel GEICO like abuse to us. Because if I cut the old car seat I can't bring the kids in my car to take them to my kids lesson, and I need wait until they send money to me? And I have go to Baby R Us where 1 hour 45 minutes from my place. And if I buy online I still have wait for shipping?? It's not make sense. And also I have to pay my deductible even not my fault.? Hopefully this company better just shut down. I'm sorry to say that. And I will say to people I know for never try this company again, so they not get what I get... Shame on you GEICO.

We canceled our vehicle policy because it was so difficult to get in touch with anyone and we got the run around constantly. We now go through an independent agent who returns emails/calls promptly and makes changes for us with just an email from me requesting it. We kept our home policy with Geico's sister company because the cost was cheaper than changing then. So now we need to make a change to the policy. I've emailed Janet twice and called 4 times in the past 2 weeks to get this quote on a change that we need done ASAP. Want to know how many call backs or emails I've received? ZERO!

Who in their right mind would treat their customers this way and expect them to stay?! I'm now switching the home too just out of principle since what we have experienced with this company has been absolutely ridiculous and negligent. The agent is even there when I call and whoever answers the phone promises a call back right away. Never, ever will I use or recommend Geico insurance or this office and if I could give zero stars I would, just like the amount of calls and emails I got from Janet! I would like to reference Kylie in the Buffalo NY office and Rhonda ** in the underwriting as department, along with the many service agents and "supervisors" I spoke with.

This company is unable to keep their word and will charge an arm and a leg just to insure an international driver. It is sad to say, I would rather pay more for a policy with a company that has better customer service. Other driver found responsible but doesn't have enough coverage and GEICO expects you to pay out of pocket for fees and damages. After reading the reviews we too will be dropped once they realize the extent of personal injury in this case. Besides surgical recovery, I am having to argue with GEICO to see if they are coordinating the at fault's limits to my damages. As soon as this is resolved we plan to change companies. I then contacted Nationwide to have my car fixed. Nationwide contacted GEICO about getting my car fixed. When they called, GEICO’s system was down and they filled out everything on paper.

Fast forward a couple of weeks and no response, I reached out to GEICO. This was the first they had ever heard of my accident. They did say their system was down and that maybe it hadn't been uploaded yet. Now, I am starting the process all over again. Set up a claim, gave my testimony, gave the witness name and number, gave the case number. Called back a few days later and they hadn't received word from the family yet. I was told I had to wait until the 21st to give the family enough time to reply.

Today, on the 21st, I called back out. Now it is going to take 2 weeks because GEICO hasn't filed to obtain the police report. It has already been 6 and a half weeks since the accident. I spent about 20 min on the phone the first time when the 2nd guy confirmed he would call my mortgage lender as soon as we got off the phone to tell him I have insurance. He never did so I called a day or two later to explain I needed someone to call my mortgage guy to confirm I have insurance to move forward with the buying of my home. I was told from their records I never called to finalize and all they have is a quote! Like my first call didn't happen. So I patiently went through it again where I was told I was all set just needed to be transferred to one more person. Well the person I was transferred to thanked me for calling and asked what they could do for me!

I explained I was beginning to fear the staff there didn't know what they were doing as I was not about to start from step one again. She transferred me to another lady who assured me she would call my mortgage lender directly after the call... BIG SURPRISE she never did. So a few days later my mortgage guy kindly told me you guys dropped the ball again. So this time he called this morning just to be jerked around. Told I never called until he had to work his way up to a manager named Tatiyana who listened to the recorded audio and confirmed I had called and I was finished. The staff should be embarrassed and ashamed at how much they suck! GEICO is a very bad insurance company. Their agents lie. Their agents tell you one thing and sell you something completely different. I bought full coverage. Everything. Even towing comprehensive and collision on my car. GEICO even had me take it for the physical inspection at Maher Chevrolet on US 19 N St. Pete FL. States in my emails and everything comprehensive and collision. Someone at GEICO changed my policy. My deductible... not what I was sold... and waiting on a tow from 627 pm to 945 pm. It's not acceptable for a 52 year old single grandmother in the dark by herself in a dark parking lot. I'm going to hire a lawyer... I'm also changing insurance asap. This company misrepresents, lies, and changes things without authorization from the policyholder. This is a very very very bad insurance company... Scary business. Run fast...

I had very basic car insurance with Geico for less than six months. Luckily, I never actually needed them - just had to shell out my hard-earned money each month to keep my policy going. Unlike all they advertise, they are not cheap and are not great - there are much better insurance companies out there that have affordable premium payment plans and coverage for what you pay for. I'm not longer with Geico, yet they keep sending me bills for insurance I no longer have. They even go so far as to threaten me that they will report me to the credit bureau. I DON'T HAVE INSURANCE WITH GEICO ANYMORE. I broke up with them, but the idiots still think I owe them. Do yourself a favor and take your money elsewhere.

I called GEICO to change my car on my insurance. They took my husband off my policy without my authorizing them to do so and replaced with my cosigner. When I called to ask why they did that they said I asked to, I did NOT! My rate went up almost $200, I was furious!!! They then cracked a PTSD joke about my cosigner not having a license at the age of 26 due to ptsd from being active military! The agents are rude as well as the supervisor who cracked the joke! I demanded a corporate number when they claim they didn't have. I told her she wasn't funny she was "laughing at the situation" the situation was A 26 YEAR OLD SOLDIER WITH PTSD and she found it funny! I however cancelled my policy and took my business elsewhere!

I'm also talking to a lawyer about this all as well! My lawyer said unless they had written permission to take my husband off my policy (which they didn't) they shouldn't of changed anything on it. Avoid this company at all costs! Terrible customer service and listening skills! I'll never go back to them. Thank you USAA for giving me a LOWER rate and great customer service versus this company. I had been with GEICO for over 10 years, no accidents, 3 vehicles insured, no tickets but somehow they found a reason to raise my rates (over 350) twice. I called them and asked why, their response "It costs more to insure cars since they now come with all this new technology". What a BS excuse being that they've been insuring the same vehicles for over 2.5 years. I haven't added any new technology to the same vehicles so how does that apply to me? They had no answer. Pathetic excuse for greedy company.

I would not recommend buying insurance from this company. After purchasing 6 months of insurance, I went online to get a QUOTE for a bundle. This was a huge mistake. Without my consent they added the person I was getting a quote about to my policy with no notification other than a vague email saying to log into my account (which I think everyone gets these and ignores them). It wasn't until I try to cancel my policy, as I spent weeks talking to customer service reps trying to get my policy back to how it was originally, that they tell me I owe money for the 2 weeks they added this other person because they did not have coverage and lived with me. I feel if a company is going to start charging you more than what you originally agreed, they need to verbally get your consent.

I received so many letters and emails from them saying they were going to cancel my policy, yet to charge me more they send one vague email. Spoke to a supervisor who clearly had no interest in helping me or even in trying to keep me as a customer. This is by far the worst service I have ever received from a company.

I have been a Geico customer for well over 10 years. There was a period of about a year that I left this company due to finding cheaper auto insurance, but I returned to Geico in 2016. During the entire time that I was with Geico and the other company I Never had any at fault accidents. Through these years I have filed a total of about 2 glass claims. One claim involving someone else hitting my vehicle.

Well, on June 5, 2017 I had to file an accident claim. In this case I was in a parked, non-moving vehicle and I was attempting to get out of my car when another driver, who was obviously not paying attention, pulled into the parking space and hit my door. I called the police and then my insurance company. The Geico agent that I spoke with immediately placed me at fault in the accident. Seriously??? Nobody had even reviewed the claim. I was still in the process of filing the claim and she had already made the decision. She basically told me if I had looked then he would not have hit my car. Of course I challenged her decision.

I called Geico later that day to give them more details about the accident and they advised me to file a claim with the other driver's insurance company. I did file a claim with the other insurance company on the same day. His insurance company eventually determined that it was shared liability, meaning that my insurance company is responsible for my damages and his insurance company is responsible for his damages. I still don't agree with this decision.

Afterwards I spoke with the Geico insurance agent, I mentioned arbitration and that idea was basically swept under the rug. The other driver really got off good because 1. He stated in the very beginning that he wasn't claiming any damages (he only had minor scratches to his bumper whereas I had to get my entire door replaced) and 2. He was smart enough to back his car up twice, take pictures and send them to his insurance company. I made my insurance company aware of everything and they still did nothing.

You would think that Geico would have done more to help me in this situation, but they didn't. This was a great way to make even more money off of me because I am sure that there will be a premium increase at some point. Needless to say that I would rather pay a higher premium to another insurance company than continue to be a loyal customer to Geico. Yes, I will be moving my auto and homeowners insurance policies asap.

I had been a customer for about 9 years, using their auto insurance. Automatic payment was set up from the beginning and never missed/never late on a single payment. I never had to file a claim or had a ticket. They dropped my rates really low over the years to $77 a month. Last year, my wife and I went through 3 debit cards apiece, due to expiration and then my bank implementing the chip card. Well in all that madness and other issues, I missed a payment. My fault. I admit it. Here's the issue: I was never notified. Not by text, call, email-NOTHING! I get a letter in the mail telling me that my policy has been canceled.

So I call to get it all sorted out. Nope. My rates would now be $140 a month. The Justification was that I am a new customer and didn't get the loyalty rates. After a couple of weeks of calling and talking to numerous people, I have to bite the bullet and get the $140 policy. Fast-forward 7 months to present day. I called Allstate, explained my troubles and just like that, I'm now only paying $68 a month for full coverage on both my vehicles. There's more: Time to renew my Alabama tags. (I'm military and live in Virginia. 1 car registered in VA, the other in AL, an SUV) Well it seems that since I had a gap in coverage, I now have to pay a $200 dollar fine first - in person. They're willing to work with me, but I have to have Alabama insurance for the SUV. So now, after emails and numerous phone calls, I switch my SUV to an Alabama coverage - costing me $55, and losing my multi car discount on both.

Here's another kicker, all this has a trickling effect and is costing me a little more money in other areas. Not a ton, but some. If they would have just given me a notice I could have saved over $700 - that's not including the price increase from losing my multi-car discount. I got a plan to move forward and to eliminate future costs, but it's time consuming and really frustrating. Allstate, for the 2 weeks I've been with them, have went the extra mile for me, made calls, followed up, and have given advice. The auto rates are cheaper, and I even switch from Geico's 3rd party Home Insurance, Homesite, to Allstate's. I'm paying a little more in home insurance, but the coverage is a lot better! And overall, bundling with Allstate vice bundling with Geico, is saving a ton more monthly. Best of luck!

GEICO after two weeks (because hitting a parked car is a really difficult claim to deal with) denied my claim. Lack of evidence. Never contacted my sister. The guy apparently had another accident right after and you can no longer see where he hit my car, and is now saying he does not remember if he hit my car, just that someone told him he had.

At this point, it would just be nice if someone vaguely unbiased could review the evidence, but "My" adjuster, who is supposed to representing me, can't get the other adjuster on the phone or to email her back. Gave me their supervisor's number to call, but won't do it herself. No one answers their phone, emails, etc. All I can think is it's the same company, they lose less money by denying my claim because now I have to pay the deductible. After this, I will be moving my insurance elsewhere. I went with GEICO because they were the least expensive option - I guess I'm getting what I paid for. Only get GEICO if you need insurance by law but never plan to use it.

After calling around and shopping for a few minutes I decide on Geico because of their quote, go thru their entire process over the phone with a rep and then make my initial payment and am put under the impression from their emails and rep this will be the agreed upon price for the rest of the 5 months of my contract.

Roughly two weeks before my next payment is due they email me and inform me my prices will be more than doubled because of violations I failed to inform them about. When I call to ask why these weren't found while I was on the phone with a representative they inform me that they have 30-60 days to look into and change the rate as they see fit. I understand that the initial quote is just that a QUOTE, but once you've received my information (Drivers Lic. #, Social #, Vin #, and everything else about me) why would you make me an offer, accept my payment, then change the amount after we've agreed upon a price.

No big deal. I'll find a company that doesn't screw people over like Nationwide who has gotten all my information and has me locked in 25$ lower than the initial price with Geico. But Geico doesn't stop there, they make sure to tack on another 200$ charge to cancel my policy because I'm not staying the full 6 months... Well I would have stayed had the price we agreed upon and I paid at first was still the true cost. Customer service was poor, customer experience was pathetic, commercials are dumb. The manner with which they handled his claims was worse than poor. So bad that I had to write multiple letters to the VP of Claims for the southwestern region in order to get satisfactory results.

Geico has a system where once you file a claim for damages, they provide you with a list of vendors based on your zip code to choose from for your repair. Once you make your selection and if your repairs will involve a rental, they take care of securing the rental for you. In my case I opted to go with the dealership for my repairs and the car rental company has established an office within the dealership. That way I only had to show up at the dealership and the rest was a breeze. When my car was ready I returned the rental car to the dealership and drove off! GEICO is ahead of its competition because of attention to details in every area of concern to the auto insurance clientele.

I was involved in accident, no fault of my own, and GEICO assisted from the very minute I called to advise them. GEICO immediately directed me to a garage and my car was repaired within a reasonable period of time. GEICO’s customer service is great but the cost is expensive and I barely am able to make the monthly payments. GEICO is a top-rated company but there are no caps on what can be charged along with the number of uninsured motorists, so it becomes unaffordable for a lot of people. As insurance rates go up, less and less people can afford it. This causes a vicious cycle of increased rates to cover those who don't have insurance while those who pay, are given the job of paying for the uninsured. It stinks that I'm paying my part and theirs.

Filing the claim was easy, but getting them to cover the rental car was a headache. I had to fight each day to keep the rental car during the time my car was being repaired. I had $8000 worth of hail damage to my new car. When I reported the damage the claim process went very smoothly. Once an estimate was made I was pressured to use their choice for the body work to be done on my car. In the end I used the dealership since my care was less than a year old. The actual cost of the repairs came to $8100 and the insurance paid, however they did not want to pay for the rental car that I had to drive for more than three days. The repairs on my car took almost three weeks and after the first three days I had to call the insurance company almost every day just to keep the rental.

Got stranded in a mall parking lot on a Saturday night when it was cold and raining. Made ten calls to customer service for roadside service. It took eight hours to get a tow truck. Even more frustrating was the fact that we had to make so many calls based on their time estimates for the truck arrival which were never met. Also, we had to explain the situation each time. During this time the mall closed so we couldn't go inside to get warm and our phone batteries died so we had no way to contact them further. All in all, it was a horrible customer service experience that was not made easier by a lack of empathy.

Got a quote from GEICO for home insurance and I thought I'd go with it since I already had car insurance with them - simply thinking it would make my life easier. But boy was I way off the mark. Must have spoken to at least 6 to 7 agents over the phone spread over a week taking hours off from my work to talk to these people to get my quote approved (will take a whole page to list out my headache of an experience). Finally when I am close to getting it approved (about a week from my new house's target closing date) they say they can't give me the quoted price. So I said goodbye. Exhausting time-wasting experience. Extremely poor customer service.

I am going to cancel my car insurance also with them!!! Can't imagine being stuck with this company for a claim in the future! Going to shop for better insurance companies. I recently moved to SC and had to switch auto insurance, the company I had only insured in NJ. I made a call to Geico who gave me an 'unbelievably' great price. Trusting they are a nationally known I signed-up with them. I even transferred my homeowners to them. When talking to the sales rep I MADE SURE he knew everything on ALL our motor vehicle records. My daughter has a careless driving ticket and a not at fault accident (2013), which at 22 still costs more money. I also made sure the Rep knew my daughter had NOT taken any driver safety courses since she was 16. The price he gave me INCLUDED a driver's safety discount and OMITTED my daughter's 2013 accident. In one month with Geico I received TWO price increases; one for the accident and one for her not haven completed a safety course in the last three years.

Geico's NEW way of doing business is tell the caller ANYTHING to get them to sign with them and send the premium increase online or in the mail, depending on how you chose to be billed. They {GEICO} assumes consumers are lazy and won't do ANYTHING except pay the higher premium. I switched my home and autos into their trust only to be screwed [for a lack of a better term] by an insurance company that advertises how great they are.

Calls to their customer service are answered with 'OH WELL" and 'our sales team wouldn't do that'. Not only did they but they expect me to pay the higher premium for the short time I will be insured with them. Switching but I'm paid for the next couple weeks and do NOT trust them to send refund. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE! My car got flooded last year and needed a new floor and ball bearings due to the flood (words from the repair shop). Geico did not cover the ball bearings, which cost $600, even though it was flood damage, and now I have to get my brake line, the brake wheel cylinder, AND the bleeding screws replaced, an extra $550 out of pocket because the auto inspector WHO FLEW IN FROM PHILLY didn't do his job correctly. He only checked inside the car, not underneath the car, or the hood. He only cared about his paycheck, and now I have to suffer for it. No wonder this company sucks, it has a lizard as its spokesperson and really crappy people working for it. If they were truly "sorry for the inconvenience" and for the "unfortunate situation", then it would be fixed, instead of me constantly getting "I'm sorry." Man up, and do your job.

Secondly, roadside assistance is a joke. It takes them an HOUR OR MORE to get there to help, and the past two times I used this service, they were late. The first time, they didn't tell me they were going to be late until 15 minutes after their scheduled arrival time, so I had to cancel. I was using Tow Jam, a horribly unorganized Houston-based towing company, and I told the "customer service representative" to NOT send me Tow Jam for the reschedule, and who did they send me? TOW JAM.

The second time, which was last week, I was quoted 75 minutes. It was 15 minutes from the scheduled arrival time, and I get a text saying that they are having car trouble and they were going to be ANOTHER HOUR LATE. SERIOUSLY!!! THIS IS RIDICULOUS. He asked me if I could wait for him, and I said, "I didn't have a choice." The driver replying the same thing, which was infuriating. He didn't even let me know when he arrived at my car. Guess who it was?? You are correct, it was TOW JAM. No wonder why he was late.

So then I called the roadside assistance department to complain, and again, all I got were "I'm sorry for the inconvenience." He then had the audacity to ask me if I would like to change my tow truck company. It's funny because the first time this happened I told them to not send me Tow Jam. You would think that since this is one of the biggest insurance companies in America that they would care, but then again, why would they? I am NEVER using Geico EVER AGAIN. And I will tell everyone to not use them because they are unprofessional, have horrible customer service, and they just apologize and nothing gets fixed, and I AM DONE.

A month ago I called Geico and inquired about me moving to NC and leaving my truck behind in NH for my daughter/son in law to drive. The agent told me that the truck should be insured by my son in law and not me. Now that I moved to NC and my insurance was due on the 23rd. So I called them and was going to let the policy expire/cancel until June 21 because I didn't have the funds to register it or get an NC license and going to take the car off the road anyway to do a bunch of work to it. The agent was pushy and didn't pay attention to what I wanted. She was more interested in "not losing me." I had no intentions of leaving Geico. It just that I didn't want to renew and pay insurance for 2 maybe even 3 weeks while the car was being repaired, and while I didn't have the funds to get my license and register it, let alone pay for a policy I wasn't going to use for a few weeks anyway.

I'm not even sure what all transpired with this woman agent from Geico. She was going a hundred miles an hour and guess what? The agent 4 weeks ago said my son in law should insure the truck BUT! This woman put it on my policy anyway! This was totally manipulative on Geico's part and will never go back. I was with them for 15 years, no violations or accidents other than a no fault one of hitting a coyote. I was crapped on by a company I was loyal to for 15 years with no accidents or violations. THEN, they had no desire to work with me on it or fix it. Instead they charged me $77.87 for 4 days coverage.

My car drowned in a supermoon flood. Salt water eats away and corrodes anything it touches. The entire underside was immersed. The engine had to be replaced. By the time the guy arrived from Geico there was already signs of corrosion which he said was normal wear and tear having nothing to do with the salt water. At his initial visit he was unaware it was salt water, though I mentioned it in my report.

I have dealt with Geico but not in Florida. In NY Geico was always a decent company. In Florida they are outrageously bad. They do not know what customer service is. I thought the car should be trashed. He didn't. I went to higher channels. Each and every person I dealt with was dismissive, did not return calls and eventually dictated the results. The car ended up being a total loss for me. Geico paid the Mechanic more than 8000 dollars. The car was a pre-owned 2013, I had purchased in January of 2016. The event occurred at the beginning of October 2016. I did not even have the car 10 months. I paid 22K for it and sold it for what I still owed on the loan. A total wash. Based on this experience, in FLORIDA, I consult others to avoid Geico.

I was happy with the process of the accident claim, but I was upset that my company had to pay for the damages and they will get the other insurance company to pay. But the other insurance company is not responding. I think if 100% not your fault, they should automatically pay. And another thing that troubles me. They paid my car loan off. Paid for loaner car while waiting to see what was going to happen. I had a lot of work done on that car and now I'm out a car and having to save for a down payment on another one. I have been insured with Geico over 3 years. I renewed a 6 month policy in December, and was unfortunately t-boned in February. The other driver was found 100% at fault, and I had to go to her insurance company's mechanic for a quote on repairs. I showed up, they total out my car, and my recourse was a check for damages. Guess who the driver who hit me was insured by? GEICO. I thought it was a funny coincidence, and moved on. I made my last payment in May, and got a letter in the mail following week. I figured it was Geico letting me know I had to renew, which I planned to anyway. Nope! It was a letter they would no longer insure me because of my "driving record." Mind you, I had not been pulled over in over a year, nothing outstanding, and traffic ticket paid. Furthermore, since that ticket, they renewed my policy twice.

I called to speak with a rep and she gave me some line about checking drivers every 5 years (I was not with them that long...) and that they did not have a "bracket" to put me in. Then, it dawned on me... they dropped me because they had to pay me. There is no other reason for it. I had been warned of them before, but actually liked their services... wish I had listened. I called Progressive and was instantly approved for coverage more than $50 less than what I paid them for 3 years. They will never see another dime from me, and I've convinced others to make the switch as well. Shady, shady, shady business!

Recently I had a accident involving a Deer, I received a police report and proceeded to call Geico to start a claim. They took all information and said a adjuster would be in touch. I received a call and the adjuster informed me that possibly they wouldn't be able to pay out the claim as I needed to have a photo inspection which I was never informed of when signing up.

I get at least 3 text messages every month from Geico letting me know a payment is due and that they would be deducting it from my designated account, along with text message and email about payment. Wouldn't you think if I needed to get a photo that they could send the same courtesy messages or maybe even call, write letter something? It seems to me all they want is to collect my money, with no interest in my real protection under policy. They said it was suspended but continued to collect the premium. Please tell how this is fair. I have never made a claim under Geico after many years of making my payments. SEEMS So unfair and ethical. If I took people's money and didn't provide the service I would be in jail. Seen as they are a billion dollar company they have the right to take money without providing what I've been paying for??? GEICO makes it very easy to file a claim. You can do it online, or you can call it in. Then they call to follow up. They have drive-in centers where you can pick up your rental car right at the same time that you drop off your car for repair when you file the claim and set up the appointment with the adjuster (also at the repair center). It's all in one and it makes it very easy and convenient. When the car is complete, you return the rental car and pick up your car. It's that simple. No need to find a ride to and from one place or another. I have never had an issue with GEICO. They are there 24/7 to help me. I never have to wait for an associate more than a minute or two. They always help me find the most savings possible on my policy. One year I had two minor claims, which I was not responsible for (my car was hit while parked in two separate locations) and my rates remained steady. Great pricing and their service is excellent. I would never go anywhere else.

A guy turned into the side of my car in an intersection. We pulled over and exchanged info as gentlemen. I waited for the other party to leave, as I was concerned that maybe a witness would present themselves and speak to only one party. That didn't happen, as I watched the other party drive away. I reported the incident to Geico minutes later. I got a call from a Claims Supervisor. We spoke in detail about the incident, then he told me what to do next AND what he would do next. He would call me the following Monday morning. A week later I called as I'd not heard back. He said they're working on it, but seemed argumentative when I politely said, "Oh sorry, I was expecting to hear from you Monday." "Why would I call you Monday? I didn't know anything new."

10 days later I called and he acted as if I was holding up the process. I asked, "Is there additional info you need from me, or something I need to do further?" No. I felt that he was disrespectful and dismissive. He didn't seem to know the background of my claim or anything, even after I gave him all the info. THIS IS A FIRST FOR ME IN DEALING WITH ANY COMPANY but I politely requested that Matthew release my claim to another representative. I emailed and called Geico for days asking that this request be honored OR AT LEAST THAT SOMEONE DISCUSS IT WITH ME. After not receiving any followup, I called Matthew and demanded that I speak to a different rep. He said, "That's not gonna happen."

He called back within a week and said, "There's been a determination. Claim resolved. I'm sorry but your story conflicts with the other driver and there's no other evidence, so it's a draw. NO FAULT, but you'll have to pay your deductible." That bugged me, as I had done nothing wrong, but I accepted it and thanked him and that was it.

Sometime after that (6 weeks after the incident) he Mr **, Matthew left me a voicemail message explaining that a witness came out of the woodwork and supported the other driver's story. I knew that their story could not be true, but Matt said that I would lose if it went to court because the other party has a witness. I know there was no witness that came forward at the scene, or after the scene. I told him it sounds awfully fishy that an individual would witness a minor fender bender, not come forward, then more than a month later feel compelled to track down the drivers or insurance companies (how? I can't imagine), only to support the story of the other party, which I know is not true.

When I asked Mr. ** about WHEN the witness came forward, WHO they contacted, etc... He said, "They just did, that's all, and you have no defense so you lose." I said, "I'll bring you 3 witnesses tomorrow who will for surely support my story. Why didn't you tell me we could do that?" That guy is representing Geico. That's Geico. They are the best company until you need them to do something other than cash your premium payments. No one has access to my claim but MD. No one can get a supervisor or anyone else in Claims to call me back. No one can give me the name of someone I can get in touch with. I've even led with, "I'm not calling to make a case against your agent. I'm calling to get this matter resolved for ME." That being said, Matthew IS Geico, and it's bad. Very bad. All national claims numbers forward to his desk. My Damage Adjuster, Mr. **, was very professional and respectful, by the way.

Geico has accepted my premium payments for 20 years, without incident. I wish I had paid for a reputable insurance agent instead. Someone who would at least pretend to have my interest in mind, fight for me, and be accountable. I have the suspicion that the other party is committing fraud. Whether that's the case or not, Geico doesn't think it's worth following up with 2 or 3 obvious questions to find out. MD- "I can't just deny a claim because you think something sounds fishy!"

There were no witnesses at the scene. The damage to my car is on the driver's-side, starting at the rear of the back driver's-side passenger door, and scraping forward until it terminated midway through the driver's door. The damage to the other party's vehicle is only to the front passenger-side corner, when he turned into my car. I know it's not conclusive, but I can't imagine what the other driver's story must have been. The point now is that MD said, "They have a witness and you don't. You would automatically lose if this went to court." That's one of the more stupid statements I've ever heard.

So I filed a claim with GEICO, followed the online process, then a week or so later I scheduled a vehicle inspections a adjuster, met up at a body shop in Fullerton, took down notes and did his process. Days later I get a call from a lady by the name of Jessica claiming to be another adjuster who then told me that my file was transfer to Andrea ** with the special investigations unit because Jessica stated Andrea was helping her with the claim. Which I was shocked that you need 3 adjusters to get a vehicle repaired.

After speaking to Andrea days later. She was beating around the bush when she was asking me questions about the claim. I told her my story and she kept asking different scenario questions. So at this point I was thinking who is this lady and why she is making it seem like I was the cause of the incident. I let it go and continue on with the call. But then she said she will have another person the focus on reviewing these type of accidents. She called him a Expert in something with claims and vehicle inspections. By now it's almost about to hit a month. I decided to take matter in my own hand and got my vehicle fixed out of my own pocket because apparently GEICO can help their clients with their claims. I felt like I had to jump through hoops just to get this process moving thinking it was going to be much easier than talking to 4 people now for a small 1900.00 claim based on their appraisal.

Please keep in mind I have paid more then 1900.00 to GEICO to have their insurance services. But it seem to be that once you file a claim they will do anything possible to not help out or either they just don't have the fund to be paying claims out. I feel like they spent more man hours trying to supposedly help me out than what my actual claim is worth. I mean why not be straightforward and just tell me "Mr. Customer we don't pay out on claims that are similar to your situation." I would have been fine with that. I am not in need of money from my insurance to fix my vehicle but again I do pay insurance for a reason. So I ended up just getting the vehicle fixed on my own out of pocket with no problem and cancelled my policy with GEICO and went with another insurance.

It's GEICO'S loss because I wanted to switch my home insurance and my other vehicle insurance with them but ended up getting a bundle deal with another Insurance who I was able to meet face to face and they took care of me. Also I did explain my experience to the new insurance and they laugh because they have seen this happen multiple times. They even said that GEICO will do everything on their end to not pay out a claim. So people that are reading this please do not do the same mistake I did. You might pay a bit more elsewhere but like they say "cheap comes out to be expensive" so might as well look for another insurance that you can actually meet your agent upfront than just doing everything online. Because insurance is really important. SO AGAIN DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH GEICO. WORSE INSURANCE COMPANY EVER.

Per Mike with Geico he stated he could only give me 1170.00. Unsure how they determine what pain and suffering is considering they have to replace the reinforcement bar to my truck due to the impact. I am in constant pain and cannot sleep due to this accident.

I hung up on the rep and when I called back the next day over and over again, they did not take my calls and was going to someone named Morgan **, she finally called me back after a message and an email I left! She was unprofessional and did not give a crap about my issue.

Said she needed a statement from me and would make her decision within a couple of days, she then called me 4 days later and left a message on my phone that I could not even understand, when I called her back she answered by saying "I am returning your call" I told her, "No, I am returning yours because I could NOT understand what you said." She proceeded to say, they would ONLY pay 75% of my claim, even though it was his fault because it was his word against mine and I needed proof he hit me!!! I was insured with Geico for 16 years. I had 2 vehicles then one broke down and I called Geico to inform them that I only had the one car. I logically expected a decrease in my premium, however to my surprise my rate remained the same. When I received the new invoice in the mail I phoned Geico to see why they were charging triple what they were charging for the same car. They explained that it was a newer car and they had to add my son on as a driver because I no longer had the older vehicle for them to assign him to. I didn't like it, but I understood it so I said, "Ok." Then he told me that he made a mistake. The price actually increased. I thought he was joking, but he was serious. He tried to explain that they hadn't taken the old vehicle off the new policy.

I explained that I had the policy in my hand from them showing only the one car with the new dates. He kept trying to convince me that the policy wasn't updated and that's why it was increasing. I asked the supervisor just to make sure that I was understanding correctly. I removed a vehicle from my policy and didn't change anything else, but my policy increased instead of decreasing. He apologized for my inconvenience and said that I was correct that the rate increased. He was again thanked me for my 16 years with them. I told him I was canceling my policy as soon as I found a new company. I went with Progressive. They gave me a discount for being with Geico for so long. They were cheaper for the same service.

I saved fifteen percent on my car insurance, but gained one hundred percent aggravation from this discombobulated company. Their customer (dis)service is rivaled only by Comcast, if you can imagine that. A county senior citizen's transportation van backed into my parked car and smashed the taillight and bumper. The county admitted fault but insisted I file with GEICO and let them subrogate (sue) the county. GEICO headquarters told me that since there was no GEICO-approved body shops within 25 miles of my house, I could take it to a local body shop, which I did. The body shop arranged with a GEICO claims adjuster to inspect the car before repairs began.

That was four days ago, and nine days after the accident. Then some dude from a different GEICO office called me today and said he wanted to come to my parking lot, where he thought my car still was, and inspect it four days from now, which would be twelve days since the accident. The guy had no idea that other arrangements had been made, so my inspection is delayed yet again. This is a left-hand/right-hand fiasco. To add insult to injury, GEICO will only pay for three days' car rental, which is already used up. So now I'm without a car, without a paid rental, without an inspection, as my slightly damaged car languishes in a body shop. As soon as all this is over, I'm shopping for a new insurance company. The lesson is this: you get what you pay for; the lowest premium comes with the worst claims service. What's more important to you?

I've been insured with Geico for some years now, and I must say they are the worst when it comes to claims. On April 16, 2017 roughly around 3 am Eastern Standard Time my vehicle was parked inside our complex when me and my wife got a rude awaking from screaming voices and loud noise. A neighbors' van caught fire and burnt completely down and also destroyed our vehicle. This new van that caught on fire was deemed as an electrical fire from the local fire department saying the fire started from the van. I was given a fire alarm number and a police report number. I called Geico the next day gave them all the information needed and even upload pictures of what was left of the vehicle.

Fast forward to May 9th, 2017 Geico is now telling me that because I have regular PIP that my coverage won't pay me what the car is worth. Okay I get that, but If their car was the problem and not my vehicle shouldn't I still be compensated? Their answer was no. They claimed that they will send an investigation team to assess the damages, but then it went from that to the maker of van MAY... MAY reimburse me for the damages that occurred to my car. The owner of the van has Geico as well. They paid to salvage the van, but didn't pay to salvage my car even tho I wasn't at fault. They stuck us with a tow fee and storage fee because we're not allowed to have an unauthorized vehicle in the area.

They took care of the neighbor claim, but threw mines in the trash. I'm very disgusted with Geico. The car that burnt was a car that I used every day to get back and forth to work and planned on giving it to my son on his 17th birthday. Geico really dropped the ball with this case. I also had 3 different claim adjuster when the neighbor was only assigned to one. I guess the old saying is true "You get what you pay for". Geico is affordable that's why we chose them, and now we regret it!

I went in to push my payment date back and then call them to say my sister will pay this for me for May, now not only will I pay a bank fee but GEICO will assess a fee as well.

When I called them, as nice as she was and apologized, she shared there is nothing that can be done, she politely shared with me that GEICO pulls funds out the actual date before it is due (this is BS) and I said in all my 10 years I never knew that, she then says "well yes ma'am" because GEICO doesn't tell that to anyone unless there is a problem. I am beyond pissed at this point. I am very disappointed in this company I have chosen to call my auto company for 10 years. I am searching a new insurance company.

FRAUD ARTISTS: contact your state's regulatory department for insurance and get the FACTS before you even SPEAK to these scammers. Don't ever take what a company's representative says as a fact - they are always trying to help their employer at your expense. Look up the laws, review the contract and get the state regulatory division to back you up.

Real life example: Hail damage is covered under my GEICO policy and hail damage is specifically excluded from damages listed that describe a SALVAGE title vehicle by Colorado State Law. My car was damaged by hail while fully covered by GEICO. Their agents decide it's "totaled" and tell me they will call me with further information. The agent that called LIES to me, and speaks to me as if I am a child with no rights. He speaks as if a GEICO and the bank have decided what to do with my car, and that it's all been decided for me! "We're going to pick up your car in the next few days." He states as a fact, then when I tell him to slow down, because my car is still in excellent safe condition to drive once the windshield is replaced he says, "Well, it's illegal for you to drive it unless you get a Salvage title on it." FALSE! Then he tells me that GEICO will happily sell me my own car for a 1,800 dollar "salvage fee".

ACTUALLY: GEICO has no rights to my property (the car). They owe me and the bank fair market value for the vehicle at the time of the incident. I can pay my bank loan off and get full title and then they owe ME fair market value, and yes - I don't have to devalue my car with this salvage title nonsense. It is perfectly legal for me to keep my current title. This JERK kept saying, "I'm thinking of how I can HELP YOU." Ha! What a load of insulting nonsense.

Geico sends out an adjuster that spoke broken English that so bad I had a terrible time trying to understand him. To replace my car that was totaled would be around $10,000.00, all Geico would pay is $7,500.00, and I had to fight to get that. Initial quote was $500.00 less. I put $1,200.00 worth of tires on the car 2 months ago. In the estimate he listed a $16.00 credit for 4 nearly brand new tires. Signed over the title, now for more fun had to go to the DMV because he claimed the title had have my name on it. In Wisconsin you sign it over 3 times. I was only the first one.

Bottom line I got cheated by at least $2000.00, and had to pay another $75.00 to put my name on the title of a totaled car. The adjuster followed me to the DMV to wait while I got the title, other people in the lot overheard us and took my side. The guy that caused all this admitted guilt, was given traffic tickets, and is in insured. What did Geico have to lose?

Recently, I needed to call for replacement cards for my two vehicles. As I asked for my cards, we realized we had not updated our address on the policy. We began to take care of this and quickly the agent began asking questions about where my vehicles are kept and what I drive. I work for an international company and my family and I travel all over the country for different periods of time. This was all discussed 2 years ago when I joined Geico. As I tried to explain the situation, the agent continuously cut me off and insisted I must have several different policies because one vehicle is registered in my home state and the others are registered in N.Y. because they are N.Y. leases. The agent refused to listen to me, so I asked to speak to a supervisor, hoping to explain the situation.

Well, that did not go any better. This supervisor, Neruka was brazened and again refused to let me speak. Sadly after 30 minutes of conflict, I mentioned that maybe Geico was not the right company for my family. For some reason this agent felt the need to remind me that they have 5 million policy holders. At this time I asked to speak to someone above her. She quickly stated that it would take up to 48 hours for a supervisor to get back to me and she ended the call. BTW they never changed my address.

About 24 hours later I received a call from a gentleman who stated he was a manager. I explained the situation and he basically showed zero interest in my concerns or the fact my car insurance would increase having policies for several states. As I tried to discuss the behavior of his supervisor Neruka, I got even less concern from him. At this point I explained that I do not feel he has taken my concerns seriously and I felt nothing will come out of this. I ended the call with a brief comment that Geico has 5 million policy holders, so I guess one less would not bother them. I thanked him and ended the call.

After 10 days of calling and speaking to sometimes rude agents, I was able to get a nice man that said he would escalate the case. The incident happened on April 27th and my car is not repaired and today is May 11th. They are trying to get me to claim it with my insurance company. I had no idea that Geico was this trifling!!! They are telling me that they can't determine whose car the insured was driving and they have to find that out and it may take another week.

I told them that with today's technology they should be able to determine that within a day. They said it may be a rental. They should be able to run the VIN and/or the tag and find out who the car belongs to within minutes. I asked her if the car on the police report where their client was cited is their insured's car. She told me to let her look. Can you believe that she had not looked at that!!! I can't tell if this is a scam or if they are all incompetent. I called the police department last night and they confirmed that the car belongs to the driver. I'm giving Geico until tomorrow and if I don't hear back from them with some concrete facts, I'm going to hire an attorney and report Geico to the Insurance Commissioner's office. In 2016 I added my 22 yr. old son and car to my policy. Just liability for his car. On Dec. 7, 2016 my son was making a left turn in an un-signalized intersection of a road that is two lanes either direction with center turning lane (so five lanes wide). As he was completing his turn with his front end more than half way across the last lane, a vehicle came from the opposite direction crossing over two lanes to make a right turn as he did not want to wait in the backed up traffic and hits my son's car in a t-bone manner, luckily he hit his front bumper and hood instead of the passenger doors. This man instantly admitted he was at fault but then pulled some crap that he could not find his insurance. We called the PD three times and they said they did not need to respond and for us to just exchange insurance.

We explained that the man was being difficult and would not cooperate. End result, man never gave his insurance, cops never came. Geico said there were no verified calls from us to the PD (lie), denied the claim because it was in an un-signalized intersection and people turning in them will never have the Right-of-Way. Never mind that several witnesses stated that they saw what happened and the other vehicle was at fault due to reckless driving. Not only were GEICO REPRESENTATIVES rude and disrespectful to their paying customers, they seemed to dismiss us quickly (in 5 min. of the conversation, no investigation at all) and did not want to even discuss the situation.

Now they have raised my insurance and taken my good driver credit. I have had Geico in the past and was a great company to insure with but not now. They have managed to screw its faithful customers, especially the ones that have paid for years and have never used the insurance. Isn't that why we have insurance to begin with? So I'm a brand new customer as of 04/25/2017. I called. I got a quote online of $154/mo after license and my driving record was pulled awesome whatever, so I get a sales rep on the line to see if I could future date my payment for the first month, was told it can't happen. Okay I get it. That's fine. I continue to purchase the policy, I then was quoted by the sales rep $206/mo. In confusion I ask why is it different from online. He then states it was that price after running your license and driving record. So I continue to just say whatever and process my payment.

Following day 04/26/2017 I get a call from the dealership I am purchasing my car from stating Geico (complete morons) has input the wrong information on the RMV-1 form so the registration could not be processed. They had the effective date 04/25/2017 and a change date of 04/29/2017 which 04/29/2017 has not happened so being attentive to detail any representative could have seen the issue. About 7 calls, 7 faxes and still being patient I get a guy (liar) who actually sees the issue, great! He goes above and beyond to ensure that the person faxing the document also corrects the date to reflect 04/25/2017... Cool! Now 5 hours later sitting in the dealership and being a new customer this is not a good look or good start to a potentially lifelong relationship with the company, the representative is showing empathy and states, "For your trouble we will give you a complimentary month and it will be refunded within 24 hours."

Today 04/27/2017 no money, call Geico to see what's going on, Emily states, "Hey there's no notation on the account." Passes me along to her manager, manager states (liar) the representative does not have the permission to even do that, and they could not credit even $5 to my account (another liar). I was online looking at my quote and (snake) the sales representative I first spoke to who said it my policy would be $206/mo had added extra features that I did not opt online in the first place. He added roadside assistance and mechanical breakdown insurance which I have going through my dealership purchasing a brand new car... She then contradicts herself from saying she can't even refund $5 but has refunded me $30 for the representative's sneakiness. Okay?

So I call her out. She gets all nervous and I ask that the call be pulled with the representative (liar) that stated he would comp me the first month of the policy, she goes to say that they are random.. No they are not, in a call center all calls are recorded. Anyone with a brain knows that. So end of the story no call, got pulled, I spent 3 days with the most crooked company I have ever encountered and starting tomorrow I will have a new insurance company and I will be a snake myself and dispute the transaction myself at my bank to have it removed. Thanks anyways Geico, loyalty, honesty and good customer service keeps happy customers. I advise anyone who has Geico auto insurance cancel, and anyone looking to get Geico auto insurance is avoid at all cause. As a consumer and being promised something on a recorded line it should be honored and the reps should be trained right. Rant over.

I've been with GEICO for years. In fact, I insured two cars and renters insurance thru GEICO. On March 28th my insurance elapsed, however I reinstated on March 31st, 2017. This was due to my hardship. My son was using my car and I knew where it was. The following day something awful happened to my son, and my car remained at the hotel where he and another friend were staying. Instead of his friend bring my car home, he took my car on April 1, 2017. On that day I had no clue where my car was. I reported the loss to GEICO. My claim was assigned to an adjuster. Several days after, he told me my claim was void because the car was not in my possession. He spoke at me, would not allow me to speak, and literally made defamatory statements about me. I drive a leased 2016 Volvo S60. I asked to speak with his supervisor, but I received more of the same.

According to the supervisor when I reported my car was stolen on March 31, 2017 I was not insured and the damage could have occurred on the 31st instead of April. How can a car be missing when the owner knows who had the car and where it was? Upon further research I gathered evidence that established and support my state such as the memory record of when my head light was damaged, statement from the hotel manager, and thru an investigation located the person who took my car along with her statement of events. Although, she was unaware her email was sent to discover the truth of what happened.

With that being said the supervisor told me the car was not in my possession. Of course it wasn't because it was STOLEN. I have comprehensive collision coverage. This covers vandalized, theft, and so on. This traumatic event is emotionally draining. I filed a complaint with the state auto insurance commissioner, and the state of California AG consumer affairs. I never thought GEICO would not honor their contract nor approach me with no respect as a consumer. Burden of this case with a play of words that makes NO SENSE!!!

She tried to miss him, hit her headlight on the hitch, her airbags deployed and she ended up in the ditch across the street. GEICO has not been able to talk to the truck driver that hit their client. But has found that all drivers were at fault.

So... their client was reversing in the middle of the road, but yet everyone else is at fault also! I am so confused! I want to let everyone know that Geico Insurance is a complete ripoff. I use to let them take money directly from my checking account every month. They were very prompt at first. Then they became very Lackadaisical. I have never seen such incompetence before in my life. They had permission to take money out on the 20th of January and yet they tried to take it out on the 23rd. They blame this on my bank. And they claimed the money was not there. My bank has a statement that shows close to $300 for them to take $50 dollars out. I can show anyone this if they don't believe me. I told them 3 days later that I will no longer need Geico because another insurance carrier is lower and can beat their price. But they continue to insure my Lexus and F150. I tried to tell them the situation and they want to know my new insurance company. It is none of their business.

So, after 2-3 weeks I get a statement in the mail saying they want $70 plus. I don't owe you that much. They claim otherwise. So I just make a complaint with the BBB. But I call them up and speak to a lazy worker and make a $20 payment with my checking account. I specifically ask this employee if I will get another bill in the mail as a receipt and I will make another payment. He reassures me that I will get another form in the mail and I can make another payment. Well people, this never happened. I received a collections paper stating they want $54.

Please do not trust this company. I paid the entire bill and asked for them not to contact me at any point. Please people, I can validate all my information. They claim it's a bank error. My bank is very meticulous and precise. I would not ever trust Geico. I am very sympathetic to everyone who has used this insurance company. Please complain to your secretary of state also. Everyone should be aware of this behavior. If they stole money from me, they will steal money from you. Verbal contracts are binding in the court of law.

I had a accident back in December 2, 2016. GEICO is the insurance of the person who was found 100% at fault by the judge. GEICO first offered to pay 10% of my claim and we declined because we are not liable by any means. Several MONTHS later they offered to pay 75% of the claim. We declined again because we are NOT AT FAULT. We told them they need to pay our claim by 100%. It is the end of April and they still have not paid their claim. I guess this is how they save people 15%... by not paying their claims...

I was about to buy auto insurance for personal usage and since I was self employed with my own business they were asking the name of my business plus ownership of my business which clearly had nothing to do with your auto insurance. I highly encourage you to stay away from company who thinks to profile your life and privacy to sell more products. I also spoke with their supervisor and she was very sneaky and precautious to give me those political statements to cover up the useless questions that their sales licensed person has asked and without any rational reasoning and apologies she just escaped from conversation.

If you like your own privacy and would not like to be investigated with insurance company to sell more of their products to you stay away from this one. I have tested other companies and none of them will ask you these type of questions which are not related to auto policy.

My old rate was $269 a month (17 y.o. daughter) new rates were $569.00 a month. The math says they are trying to get the out of pocket back in 12 months. I called them and they said I could take a defensive driving course (not free) and they would lower the cost by $169 a year. Once again the math says they are full of it. Let's see increase $300 a month times 12 = $3600 less $169.00 wow let me do that 40 hour course for $49 for that. Geico is full of it. However my vehicle was nearly finished with the turn and was hit on back end back passenger door and quarter panel by the other driver's car's front end. The other driver also had GEICO insurance.

I should not have to pay a 1000 dollar deductible for another driver's failure to yield as cited on the police report. They state the other driver was almost complete with his turn? How is that when his front end hit my rear passenger quarter panel when my vehicle was already on the road!!! I hate this Insurance. It's cheaper but heaven forbid the other driver carry GEICO. I had stopped driving so I put her car and her name on policy. She was 32 years old. I also had electronic funds transfer set up so the money came directly from my checking acct. In the letter previously stated they said they may be sending me a check for around $92.00. Months later I got a bill for $92.00.

Now my credit is messed up from this one bill. I never stopped payment on Geico insurance payments until today, April 11, 2017. Therefore I do not understand how they can keep sending me to a credit bureau for this money. They were able to take it out at any time when I had the insurance, yet they never did and I believe it is because they knew it was not theirs to be had. I always paid even when I was not driving. I have a letter from my bank stating that as of today I closed down the electronic transfer for Geico. And I did not close it before. Geico displayed very unprofessional, and malicious character by withholding my legal rights to retain my totaled vehicle, a 2013 Hyundai Sonata, fully loaded at three months into the purchase. My car was in an accident on March 3, 2017, leaving me mentally and physically upset and anguished. Shortly after the accident, Geico decided to total the vehicle, in no time, 6 days later March 8, 2017. After repeatedly stating I didn't want the car totaled, I instead preferred repairs for it. Geico representative stated each time when I requested how much the damages of the car would cost; she states, “We are still working on the numbers, but we are totaling the car." She repeatedly states, giving me RED FLAGS. After waiting 3 more days, to my surprise, the IAA salvage company calls me for permission to take the car. At this time, we refused to give a verbal consent to release the car until we received the estimates for the damages.

Meanwhile, my belief is Geico had no intentions of offering me my legal rights to keep my totaled car, and to allow a 2nd estimate for repairs. March 8, 2017 when Geico reviewed the damages, it was 3 weeks later when Geico Management assisted. After the 3rd settlement was offered on March 24, 2017, at no time was there any consideration shown or loyal customer service promised, or an offer to repair up to the value of the damages. That's why it was very important to have the cost of damages. After the 2 weeks, the settlement was decided then j rental car returned. I located my car at the salvage company. The information disclosed on the salvage database included the sale of my car for $8,900 for the rear end damages. Geico decided to sell my car to someone else, received a payment the same amount that would have repaired my car at my choice of shop.

The unethical way Geico handled my property, was for the benefit of the company instead of a loyal client. This demonstrates poor customer service, to the policyholder, and the car owner. Knowing the car was only 3 months since purchased, there was nothing wrong keeping the car from being driven, only the appearance. I've nearly lost my job, gained no money from insurance, as well as forced to search for another vehicle to purchase. This is severe mental anguish, that should have been avoided if my rights, and options had been disclosed to me from the beginning as professionals would do.

Are negative stars possible? I had GEICO for about a month. My previous insurance company sent a termination form to my state DMV when I switched coverage. GEICO never sent an update that I had new insurance with them, making it look like I had no insurance at all to my State. I got a letter from the DMV (March 1) saying they need to show I had no lapse in coverage or they would revoke my plates. So I called GEICO to have them send the form they should have sent to begin with. (Beginning of March.) I left GEICO to go back to my previous insurance when GEICO quadrupled my rate one month into the policy with no tickets, accidents, changes to policy, etc. WHAT?! That's it - I just got a letter saying that my rate would go from $125 to over $600 - no explanation. No brainer, I went back to Progressive.

About 2 weeks after having them send the form to the state, I got another letter from the DMV saying I had one week or my plates would be revoked because they had not received the FS-4 form from GEICO. I called GEICO and had them send the form AGAIN, (March 30) and asked for a copy to be emailed to me - they refused saying they could only send it in the mail (which would be past the date of plate revocation - April 5). I patiently waited on my mailed copy - which arrived the day after my plates were revoked. I called the DMV - they still had not received the letter from GEICO. I asked if I could bring in my copy, when I noticed that the person who sent it had inverted the inception and termination dates showing that the policy was terminated before it ever began. The DMV refused to take it.

I called GEICO a third time to get a corrected FS-4 form and have them fax it directly to the DMV agent I was working with and send me a copy. I'm still waiting for my copy of course. Does it matter? No - we are way past the DMV deadline. I have to wait a few days to verify with the DMV that this has been done correctly for the third time - *meanwhile, it's now April 7th, and I cannot drive to work, the grocery store, etc, because MY PLATES HAVE BEEN REVOKED and I will get a ticket if pulled over.

Thanks GEICO. I will never be a customer again, and I'll be sure to tell my friends and family about the terrible service and experience I have had. Fifteen minutes can save you 15% or more? No - Progressive is 1/4 the price of GEICO. Not to mention, the six weeks of trying to get you to send a simple FS-4 to my DMV so that my plates aren't revoked, and I'm still waiting on that to be resolved. And I can't drive my vehicle. I'm furious. You're a terrible company.

All that kept saying was site's down so I called Geico and complained. The customer service it's horrendous. They had no answers. They kept saying, "Oh you can't do it on a tablet." What a crock. I've been on this tablet for 4 years and I never had a problem. Come to learn it was not the tablet, it was First Security Geico. Couldn't give me any answers. They just as bad as First Security. I don't know why people even use them. They know very little of nothing.

Finally I told the rep, "Mail me out the insurance policy because I couldn't see if anything changed." She said, "You can upload it." I said, "Didn't I just tell you the site's down?" She's, "Okay will send it to in a email." It's funny how they can get it but I can and I am the paying customer. Is that a joke or what? I will definitely look somewhere else for car insurance and homeowners coverage. I don't want to do business with people that don't allow me to see what I'm spending my money on and then when you call them they have no answers then I have to call GEICO for my homeowner's insurance. What the heck is that? No I want to speak directly to the company I am doing business with.

I've been spinning my wheels for the past 3 weeks, try to get an answer. One person knows less than the other. They may sell a lot of insurance but they sure don't know how to run a business. Another joke. Why would I let them choose a homeowner's insurance company for me? They should be a drop down box that I can choose.

I have been a Geico customer for about ten years now, with never any issues, however this month they informed me that they are going to raise my rates substantially(over 100.00 a month more). For their justification they listed 4 separate instances over the past 2 years, one was understandably an at fault accident with one of my kids, but the other 3 were no fault accidents that didn't even involve them (the other insurance company accepted full liability and paid in full). Their reasoning is that if you have that many occurrences in that period of time statistically you are more likely to get into additional accidents. That logic would hold up if they were at fault accidents. I have lost all respect for these people, and I strongly discourage anyone from doing business with these people.

I was in a car accident nearly a year ago. I did not think it was my fault but Geico refused to investigate even though there was a video tape available. They did not bother getting the video tape. I took my car for a damage estimate and was given a check. Soon after, the Geico adjuster called me stating I should not cash it because it should be made out to me and not to me and the bank financing the car. The car was already paid for and the check had been made out to me. I told this to the adjuster but she would not listen and cancelled the check anyway. In going through my records I found that Geico had given me a check for $250 which I had never cashed. I asked them to re-issue the check and they said they would.

Nearly a year later I still don't have the $250 check or the one for my repairs. Geico did send me a check for the repairs but I did not cash it right away because I kept waiting for the other check so I could use both to pay. This because I had a deductible so the check they gave me did not cover all the repairs and I need the $250 check to help. Then I got a call from the Geico adjuster stating they would reissue the check they had sent me because it was probably no good anymore. The check was good but that was canceled anyway. Then another Geico adjuster called me and stated she could not re-issue the check because it had to be made out to both me and the bank. This is the exact opposite of what she told me not to cash the first check.

By now I was fed up with all this and told the adjuster to send me the check or I would file a complaint. Today I got the check in the mail and it was made out to the bank and not to me. No promises of getting the $250 check were ever kept. Their stories keep changing and I believe they are lying to me and trying to get out of paying me. Three times they promised to send the $250 check and never did. I am very disgusted and frustrated and I put in a call to a lawyer and I'm waiting to hear back.

In March 2017, an insurance claim was filed with Geico after a policy holder struck my vehicle. The claim was submitted so that Geico could cover costs associated with damage to my vehicle. The damage occurred when a driver made in improper lane change and struck my vehicle. To assist with the handling of my claim, I provided Geico with a copy of the Georgia Uniform Vehicle Accident Report where the officer confirmed that an improper lane change occurred. The police report noted that the driver was issued a citation for failure to maintain lane/improper lane change. I also provided Geico with photographs of damage to each vehicle, photographs of the scene, and an aerial view of the accident site.

Several days later, a Geico Claims Adjuster called me and stated that Geico will not accept liability for the damage caused by the driver of the insured vehicle. They stated that the driver provided a version of the accident that is contrary to my statement of facts and facts stated in the police report. They said their decision to deny liability was based on their review of all information and the point of impact. They stated that only use accident reports as a tool and have not used facts within it as a basis to accept liability. However, they have provided no tangible basis for their denial of liability, they provided no evidence to support a contrary view of facts surrounding the accident, they apparently did not utilize a trained accident investigator, and they appear to have relied on lies told by the vehicle driver as a way to avoid paying a legitimate insurance claim against their insured.

I have heard that many Geico policyholders have had similar experiences. For these reasons, I believe Geico has engaged in unfair, deceptive, and abusive acts and practices and has acted in bad faith. Do yourself, your friends, and your family a favor and let everyone know why not to do business with them. You may save a few dollars/month upfront, but I can assure you it will cost you much more in the long run.

I urge that you obtain coverage from a company that treats their customers with respect. Worst! Do Not get Geico unless you never plan to have someone hit you. So where do I even begin. Let's first start with the fact that I filed a claim after my vehicle was totaled in March 11, 2017 with a police report showing the other driver is at fault. I filed the claim right away and I uploaded all pictures and evidence I have and nobody reviewed it. I've called them 6 times and every time I call it's a new person and nobody knows anything. I was assigned a claim specialist from my insurance that never even returned my phone calls. Nobody has called me but the person that looked at the car, he want to tow the car so they don't have to pay storage fees and force me to agree to their value.

The website app you submit your stuff to (I submitted my pictures), I don't think any one body even looks at it. Every time you call it's a new person that answers the phone and asks you the same questions over and over again. It's back to step 1. Since it wasn't our fault I was waiting for the other insurance to pay and closed the claim but it looks like was going to take longer so I decided to have my insurance (Geico) pay and cover the claim at the meantime and later they will request to be paid back from the other insurance. I had one adjuster came from the other insurance to evaluate my car a lot faster than my insurance. However my insurance also sent out an adjuster to evaluate the car (finally after 2 weeks) and their evaluation was almost $2000 lower than the other insurance. I tried to get more details from the my own insurance appraiser but instead of getting help I was beating by them.

My daughter was dealing with an adjuster from Geico. His name Nicholas **. He basically gave my daughter the total and I can't do anything about it (not helpful at all). So we asked for his supervisor's name and phone and he did provide me with his supervisor name and phone Jason **. And when I called him this is when I was shocked by the way he handle my call, unprofessional and my question to Geico now "if this is one of the management team how is the rest of the team?" Jason wasn't even listen to me so he can understand my question to him but he kept talking over me and not letting me finish my sentence.

I would recommend Geico to provide more training to their employees especially if they have a management title. This is look super bad and I would never recommend Geico to anyone. When they say you get what you pay for, well Geico is like the $0.99 menu at MacD but you have to pull it out of the ground, wash it, cut it, cook it, wait, give 20% of it back to them. You are better off paying a bit more. Don't let the little green lizard sell you. Geico is HORRIBLE!!! I forgot to mention too the Auto Damage Supervisor Jason was taking advantage and discriminating since my English was not perfect... Shame on you GEICO.

I was rather surprise and ask him to list what's included in my policy so I may compare it to State Farm. Everything checked out just fine. I proceeded to print my insurance cards and wait for my package in my mail.

Two months later still didn't receive anything so I tried logging into the site only to find out that my policy will be cancelled within a month so I called Geico. They claim that they had sent out a questionnaire that had to be answered and returned within a certain amount of days. I explained to them that I haven't received anything at all from Geico in the mail period. They had no intentions of sending me another questionnaire until I brought up the fact that I would contact their corporate office. They fax me over the questionnaire which I was unable to read because of the clarity, I called and explained that I could hardly read what's on the questionnaire which they claim once again that they're not allowed to fax over more than once so I brought up corporate office yet again and this time I was faxed over the papers I needed that happen to be in perfect order.

I filled the papers out and fax it back to Geico only to receive a call the following day saying that my policy will still be cancelled. I ask why and they stated that the information I provided when I signed up was different from the answers on the questionnaire which I told them was a lie. I told them to listen to the phone call and they will hear everything I stated is the same as the answers on the questionnaire. The representative said not every call is recorded and even if my call was recorded it would have been deleted by now so I just have to take her word that my information I provided was inconsistent with each other. That really annoyed me cause I know they're lying for a fact and can't even tell me what part was inconsistent so I'm about to file a complaint. Don't trust Geico at all.

I was on the highway and was hit from behind. I was 100% not at fault. My insurance was Geico and this is the first accident I have ever been in. It was impossible to get a claims adjuster on the phone. Geico which I had for years treated me like I was bothering them would not give me any advice. Also never once made me feel like they cared. The at fault insurance was Safeco and I was treated so well. Amanda the adjuster was very nice and really cared for my claim. I will never use Geico again. Accidents happen and your insurance company should be the one to help you and make you feel like a person.

I have used Geico for 20 years. Two years ago I had a minor no fault fender bender and used Geico for that; I asked them carefully how much a claim would impact my rates and they said due to my longevity it would not raise my rates. During my recent experience, I found out it did. I called in to let Geico know I was moving back to CA from Illinois in 30 days and would need a policy change. I told the agent I had a permanent address in CA. At that he began to change the policy to CA that minute, though the car was not yet here. At the same time he let me know that the CA rate, which was around $300 when I had it last, would now be $780 - and that was a combo of rate increases in CA, and a change due to my claim. So I would now be paying an extra $400+ over the Illinois policy. But be that as it may - I had asked him not to start it immediately anyway - that it would be the end of the month before the car was here.

But then - here's the unbelievable part - he said he did not believe me, and then started to go ahead and set up the CA policy! I was telling him, no, no, no - and then in despair I hung and called back to try to get someone else. Meanwhile he had finished setting up the CA policy and I no longer had an Illinois policy. (And the car is still there - and Illinois insurance laws are easily as tough as CA.) Needless to say I cancelled and got new insurance with another company.

However, in my conversations with Geico not one rep even understood what I was saying - and each one said the sales rep was within his rights to close my Illinois policy and open one in CA because he had essentially 'caught me lying'. (My own impression was that he was partially napping through most of my into speech about how I was here and the car wasn't yet.) This was a nightmare. Of course they cannot open a new policy for me to 'teach me a lesson', though they could have refused me service or something. I must say it was the most astonishing and weird experience I've ever had with a company. Did Trump buy out Geico for one of his kids?

On 12/21/16, I was rear-ended by a drunk driver. The driver refused to stop. I chased down the vehicle long enough to get the license number. I went home and called the police and made out a report. I reported this to GEICO. GEICO claimed there was nothing they could do, that I had to get the police report and find the other driver's insurance company and contact that insurance company. I paid for the police report and called the other driver's insurance company, Farmers.

Farmers said, while their insured hit me, the police report said fault could not be determined. Nick ** of GEICO intervened and told me Farmers claimed their insured never hit me and he could not compel the other driver to compare the damage on my car to that of the other car despite the police report indicating the damage to the other car seemed consistent with the damage to mine. Nick ** told me GEICO could not represent me, that I would have to go after the other driver on my own.

I needed reasonable and necessary medical treatment for a headache and pinched up back after being rear ended and they said there was not enough damage to need any medical treatment and did not pay my claim. I have contacted the Ohio Dept. of Ins and feel like this review needs to be written as well. Claims service is quite poor and furthermore the claims adjuster was short and rude with me too.

We have a small bit of damage on our car and called to ask about whether a claim would raise our rates. I was informed by a Thomas that he was now obliged to report my information to the Claims Department and a rate increase could occur based on my call. I do think a consumer should be able to call a company to ask a question without a rate increase resulting from a hypothetical situation. Not asking too much.

My vehicle was totaled in January and Geico was great in their initial response when I filed a claim with them. I was very pleased and thankful and almost filled out their customer survey they sent out asking about my claim experience in that first week, but decided to wait until it was done. I was delayed in getting them title since I was out of the country, but did it as soon as I got back to the USA. I was quoted the same price for the payout after my deductible on 3 separate occasion by two different Geico employees.

A month after they received my title, and two phone calls from me later to try and figure out what was happening, I received a payment that was close to $1,000 less than what I had been quoted 3 separate times with absolutely no explanation. It took me 7 phone calls of varying lengths and aggravation, and over two weeks to finally get Geico to agree to pay me the amount that THEY had determined my vehicle was worth: i.e. the number that they came up with, not me. I was also told that they adjusted the amount AFTER they had received my title. When I first confronted them about the difference, they were apologetic but seemed unwilling to adjust the amount to what they originally quoted. It was after a stern conversation and bringing up the possibility of opening a complaint with the Department of Insurance, Licensing and consulting with a lawyer that they took action to honor their original amount.

So I bought an auto insurance policy that required special verbiage. I was told by the sales rep that this won't be a problem. Once I received the paid policy, it didn't include the verbiage I needed. After multiple phone calls and speaking with several people, I was told the sales rep was wrong and they wouldn't be able to supply what I needed. Ok, fine. I'll get coverage with another company and things will be great, so I thought! I was then told by the canceling agent that I would only receive $200 back instead of the initial deposit of $600. What!!! The policy hasn't even been in effect for 48 hours and it was their fault due to misinformation given by their sales rep. I'm still on the phone waiting for a supervisor to hopefully get my money back. Stay away from this company!!!

Pretty upset in regards to the non-service I received this morning. I was under the assumption I had ERA. However after calling Geico they confirmed I didn't after telling them my car battery is completely dead and I had no way of getting help. So I went ahead and added the additional service on in the same phone call. I also went ahead and asked "Since I just added this on can you please send someone out to help me?" And they refused to help me because it was a preexisting condition and stated I would have to pay out of pocket. How messed up. I just added the service on in the same phone call that I made telling them I'm stuck and they won't make any exemptions. To me that's pretty poor customer service.

That explained the noise that originated from that side of the car. Thanks to my boss who noticed the problem nothing tragic happen. But it is unacceptable that someone endangers the whole life of a family by not paying attention to something so simple. I hope it will never happen again and someone will give me an explanation and an apology about this pitiful case.

Monday 3/13 around 4:45 pm while getting gas, I notice damage to my car in the passenger side. Is only been to work and Walgreens. I'm assuming my car was hit on the passenger's side while I was inside a store. Once I notice the damage I contacted Geico right away to make a claim stating my vehicle had been damaged and was very upset (emotionally). Because this is a brand new car (2017) the claims department was very nice and comforting assuring me it wouldn't be a problem and set up the earliest appointment at an auto shop for my car to be dropped off hassle-free. I was greeted by an adjuster who came out to inspect my car and immediately stated the damage looked as if I hit something!! Uhm I hadn't hit anything but someone obviously hit me!! Long story short I'm being given the whole "We need to have an expert come out to diagnose the damage and see if you were actually hit.” Wait. What??? I was completely confused!!

I was the victim of an obvious hit and run. Now I'm being treated as if I was at fault! And now the so call simple claim has turned into approx 3week ordeal because I'm being accused of not being truthful about my car being damaged!! To add salt to my wound the adjuster handed me a $5000 appraisal so I would know what I might have to pay if my claim isn't accepted. This is beyond stressful and truly disappointing! I have 2-vehicles insured with this company for over 3 yrs and this is how you are treated for a claim! I'm not going to jump to conclusions but, when you're treating your customers who keep your company in business like crap is never a good thing! Social media has been the death and end to numerous businesses as well as jobs! If my claim is not accepted I plan to fight this and spread the word via social media, etc of the unfair practices of Geico Insurance!! Shame on you for treating customers like criminals!!!

So where do I even begin. Let's first start with the fact that I filled a claim after I discovered my car was hit in the parking lot while I was at work. I have phone records that I called Geico and my family after the incident happened and pictures of the damage which I uploaded to the claim on Geico's website. I tried to get in touch with my claims adjuster for over 2 weeks after I opened the claim but I never received a call back after over 5 messages left and complaints to the website online complaint center. I was finally contacted by a new adjuster who said like it was a normal thing "oh sorry the last person assigned to you was promoted so she neglected all of her clients for weeks." What kind of business is this that a managers didn't even realize or care that their employees are not answering or responding to their clients.

This was the first headache of many that I had with this claim. I should have taken it as a sign and symbol of how Geico treats their customers and switched insurers right then and there but unfortunately you can't do that. Anyway the next steps were for me to go through a recorded statement over the phone with an adjuster which I did. After that I dropped off my car for an inspection and to get repaired, the damage wasn't significant and only showed $1.8k in damage. The Geico body adjuster at the repair shop gave me a rental car, which he stated would be 100% covered, based on my insurance. I said great and left for work only to get a call on the way from the other Geico adjuster, who works in an office and who I never I recorded my statement with, that I was being investigated and the repairs and rental were not yet approved so I would have to pay for the rental car out of pocket.

Then she proceeds to tell me that having the rental car without claim approval was actually illegal on my part and I was breaking the law, even though the Geico body adjuster at the shop gave it to me!! I was outraged especially because I didn't even need the rental car since I lived so close to work and I even asked the Geico body adjuster numerous times if it was covered and I was assured it was by him! It then became apparent that the adjusters for Geico do not communicate with each other nor do they care about their customers.

I tried to return the car the next day, a Friday, at the repair shop and after being assured my car would be ready to swap for the rental car I had, however, when I arrived I was told by the receptionist that my bumper was off of my car and I would have to wait another three days to swap cars because nobody worked on the weekend. At this point I was very angry and upset that I was lied to twice by the Geico auto body adjuster at the repair shop (1st that the rental was covered and approved, 2nd that my car was ready in the front of the shop to swap for the rental). So much of my time, money, and energy have been wasted by this point that I was ready to cancel my insurance and just pay for everything out of pocket since it would be less of a nightmare.

When Monday comes I make arrangements to leave work early to meet with a Geico investigator to again explain my claim and try to return the rental. My anger has subsided after the weekend passed but quickly came back once the office adjuster assigned to me called to let me know that the body adjuster filled two more claims on my car for tiny dents and they wanted statements on those as well. This is illegal for Geico to do without my permission by the way, but they filled them anyway.

The problem with these claims is that they will show up on my driving record forever and if I try to switch insurers, which I am planning to do, the new insurer will see these and can keep my rates higher as a result. I then demand to speak with my claims adjusters boss which I am transferred to but does not answer his phone. I leave a message with a laundry list of complaints but never got a call back, a week has gone by now. I beyond annoyed and distraught over the service I have received at Geico and I can't even comprehend, as a business woman, how this company is still in service with people so incompetent working for them.

First I would like to say I was a customer for 10+ years and had no complaints against GEICO until now. I added my daughter to my policy last year since we were both on her title and advised the agent that she had a SR-22 due to a DUI. I was given a quote and shortly after, I was notified that my insurance was increased to double what it originally was. I called and found that once they verified my daughters' driving issue which caused the increase. The agent said they could not remove my daughter until I had proof that she had another insurance so I told my daughter she would need to obtained her own insurance and provided proof of her new insurance as soon as her documents were received.

I was told my policy would be evaluated and the rate would be adjusted. This took 5 months and I paid a total of $269.20 over what I should have been charged. I can understand charging me the difference for 1 month since this all took place mid-cycle, but not 5 months. I noticed the rate was finally adjusted on the current bill today and called to see why I was not refunded the difference and I was told that since the change took place after the renewed premium was calculated it could not be adjusted. I then asked if anyone there could override this and was told no. I asked the agent to note my file that I would be obtaining another policy elsewhere and she said she would.

I immediately changed insurance providers and called back to advise to cancel my GEICO policy. The agents were polite, but at no time did the agent try to inquire with anyone else if anything could be done such as a provisional credit. Not only does the insurance I now have, have the capability to adjust the insurance rate immediately if I make online changes to my policy, but the policy is exactly the same as what I had with GEICO for a lower rate. Now I will wait to see how long GEICO will take to refund me the difference for the payment that I made for the rest of this billing cycle. I gave a fair rating only because for the majority of the time I was pleased, but GEICO will continue to lose customers if they keep their shady policy of not being upfront with this "no refund" once a policy is changed. I am very disappointed in GEICO.
