Although a little on the pricey side, any problems are promptly handled by GEICO's excellent customer service team. They have a user-friendly app for bill pay, ins cards, and roadside assistance makes life so much easier. As a DJ my body is trained to be awake at night. Once I locked the keys in my car at 3 am and it was not a problem for GEICO. Within the hour I was on my way. They also send reminders every month so for us forgetful people, no policy cancellations.

The adjuster came to my door, wrote up the estimate in his truck which included a check for the amount beyond the deductible. The car was fixed in three and a half days. A rental Car met us at the body shop. Geico then sent us a check right away for the deductible since the found out the other person was at fault.

I was with another insurance company for many years, but when I was no longer satisfied with their customer service and they would not match the coverage and the dollars spent for that coverage with Geico, it was time to switch. Geico's financial coverage beats any other company I could find, and their reputation seems to be topnotch.

They have a local office where we could talk face-to-face with an actual person. Dealing over the phone can sometimes be frustrating and time-consuming. I've been hit a few times by other drivers so we've had multiple claims with them and we've never been disappointed by their service. The claims department was very professional, caring and knowledgeable. Services were prompt and courteous as well. One time, I was a victim of a hit and run car accident and the reps kept me notified every step of the way. I received regular phone calls and detailed emails for everything having to do with my claim. I was very pleased with the service I received and because none of my accidents were my fault, my rates did not go up either.

The people from this company give less of a ** about customer service and more about holding you hostage and raising their rates arbitrarily. I switched bank cards to make automatic payments and the employee didn't execute the switch, which means I HAD NO INSURANCE. After checking my bank statements and wondering why the money hadn't been taken out they told me they canceled my insurance (no phone call?, no mail warning etc) and they could reinstate my account for 190. I pay the 190 they tell it will take another 150 to activate my account and now 150 would be my new monthly.
I work in the service industry and it's disgusting when you take someone's money and then give them no support. You're in the business of ** people, I hope this company goes bankrupt and people see past the cute lizard marketing machine. It's a criminal company that put me and my family in jeopardy and then wanted me to pay penalties because of their negligence. ** YOU GEICO.

GEICO is a good company and has fair market value and services compared to others. The cost of services and goods is great. The customer service and response to claims and inquiries are great, too. They were understanding, caring, compassionate and quick to settle a claim.

Even though I pay a lot for my coverage no one can compare price-wise to them when checking rates. I did leave them once for what I thought was a better value but turned out I was wrong, and a year later I came back and I will not do that again. They really are the best value overall, easy to use website, professional customer service on the phone and they always do what they say they are going to do.

Had an emergency breakdown on a highway, had my vehicle towed to repair facility and submitted for reimbursement for the towing. I pay for towing RSA coverage, they tell me it only covers 75.00 as to reasonable charge, the bill was 294$. I canceled my RSA and will be switching insurance coverage soon after.

My Son who is Active duty USMC was treated terrible. Due to deployments he does not have access to email or mail sometimes for weeks. They sent him an email asking for an address update. Because he wasn't able to respond they cancelled his policy. (His permanent address remained unchanged) When he came back from overseas, he finds out his policy was cancelled. When he called, no concern, and they refused to reinstate his policy. But, he was able to start a new policy for double the price! Way to go Geico, shows no concern to those who serve!

I've been a Geico customer for a while. I got in an accident last Friday and the claims department is trying to tell me that I never switched over from my old car to my new car? A. Aren’t you supposed to show proof of full coverage before leaving the car lot - which I did. When I signed up for Geico they recommended I download the Geico app so I wouldn’t have papers hanging out everywhere and would have my information right on my phone... PERFECT! - NOT! I switched over my car on that app, my new car showed up on my electronic insurance card, but not on my account. So I was freaking out right after my accident happened and redid all of my car information on my account through the Geico app. After putting my claims in they are trying to tell me that I either A. Never had insurance on my car or B. Never had full coverage on any of my cars. Ummm I’ve been paying you guys for what then???
The claims advisor was no help and kept telling me that it’s all my fault that the information was wrong at the time of my accident and the possibility of getting my car fixed or the other car fixed was low. They also claimed me for not having paper cards with me and that get automatically send those through the mail... When I signed up if asked if I wanted paper cards and why would I need paper cards if it’s on my phone??? The accident was not my fault and they are trying to say it was even though the police report claimed that neither one of us were at fault due to the person in front of me stopping at the last second to turn during traffic. And the guy that was hit even told Geico that. This company is a joke! And now I’m probably screwed getting my car fixed!

My car was scratched while parked. Geico denied the claim based on their "opinion" that my vehicle was in motion when the incident happens. They don't have any evidence to establish the "fact" that my car was in motion. So they just denied it based on their own "opinion" instead of on "fact". When they know you don't have enough evidence, they will for sure take advantage of you. They are shameless and disgraceful. Stay away.

Geico is a complete joke, my truck was flooded in Harvey. They didn't want to Total it. I had water about my tailpipes and in the inside of the cab. They chose to replace the carpet and other things, I had my rental for 36 days and a representative promised that I wouldn't be charged for going over the 30 days limit. Now I'm being told they will not pay for the 6 days leaving me with the remaining balance on top of my 500 dollar deductible. As if I haven't been through enough. This company is all about shortcuts. And to think I convinced my wife to leave State Farm. I will be leaving Geico. This is ridiculous that they chose to nickel and dime their customers instead of customer service.

And to date, my insurance wasn't dropped nor raised. Great company to work with and I recommend GEICO to all of my friends.

A few years ago, I awoke with a painful stiff neck - turning my head was very distressing. However, I had patients to see at work, and did not want to have to cancel their visits. I backed down my driveway, and watched my garage door close. Turned my body to look down the street (there's an almost blind corner) and then turned the other way, where there's a curve, to make sure there was nothing coming from that direction. Saw nothing, Proceeded to back up - straight into an SUV sitting behind me. I did a fair amount of damage to his passenger door, as well as to my own trunk. The driver was rather upset - I don't blame him, I was, too. He became rather rude - demanding to know who I was and what I was doing in that driveway.
I responded that I lived there (still do) and had done so for 18 yrs; he was skeptical, because "I never saw you!" Anyhow, I gave him my Geico info, which he appeared not to believe. I then headed to work. When I got to work, entered my office, the phone was ringing. It was Geico - wondering why I hadn't reported it instantly. I explained that I had to get to work, that I had given him the information and had every intention of reporting the accident as soon as I took my coat off. From then on, Geico took over. His car was repaired within 24 hours. Mine took 2 days, but was a beautiful repair. I never heard another word about the event from anyone - AND I wasn't even dinged by Geico by a rate increase. Needless to say I have been a Geico fan since then.

I trust Geico. Besides their funny commercials, Geico really does what it says and they are there when needed. Filing my claim was easy peasy too. Called them and told them what happened. They helped me get my car back in shape and paid for it. I feel I have enough insurance in case anything untoward happens. I have four other family members on the policy, too.

I was a Geico customer and when my daughter turned 16 they wanted to up my bill by $400 a month, mind you she was not driving at this time and we were not adding another car. So after going rounds with Geico over it and getting nowhere I found another company that offered me the same coverage at 1/2 the price Geico wanted so I canceled my policy with Geico. (Mind you the new company was 1/2 the price and we added a 4th vehicle Geico wanted $400 for my daughter to drive with no added vehicle the other company is $211 with another vehicle on our policy.) I then got a bill from Geico for over $200 for discounts they gave me and now they wanted back because I canceled with them early.
It was their fault I Canceled! Next thing I know they turned me into collections and put a mark on my credit all because they wanted money out of me for Discounts. The entire time I was with Geico I never once filed a claim with them so I did not cost them any $$ at all. So you would think because it was their fault I canceled due to a $400 hike in my insurance then I would not have to pay this outrageous fee for Discounts cause I canceled early. If I could get away with no stars I would, and I will warn everyone to stay away from this crooked company that is only out for your hard earn $$$. Geico is not out for its customers they just want $$$.

They are customer oriented and very willing to help and make the process as smooth as possible. The information is always readily available and up to date so you don't have to wait for just one person to call back. If as the policyholder I was at fault and the payment was to the other party the explanation for that payment is very clear and understandable. The only thing is that they need to reduce their insurance premiums to seniors. But overall, they're very efficient and anxious to help.

My car was towed to the repair shop after the accident. Next day when I went to inspect my vehicle I found damage on the car unrelated to the accident. The damage likely happened during the towing. When I called GEICO, they were very unprofessional and blamed me for the damage. I told them the car was not with me after the accident, to which they said they can't confirm that the damage happened during the towing. Ultimately, even after having several arguments with many GEICO representatives, they didn't agree to cover the claims under the claim. They stopped short of calling me a liar. NEVER EVER use GEICO. They won't cover your damages that happens during towing or at the repair shop. On top of that, they might call you a liar.

They have been awfully good to me with regard to roadside assistance. Balky alternator which is due for replacement here in the near term. Never once have they refused or charged me for the "jump starts" and their facilitator here in 34105 is beyond dependable... Customer Service givers are incredibly polite and diligent as well... So I will grinch and moan about the five to seven percent increase on the next go round but suspect given present day driving pools, it's probably a very standard bill 'o fare by comparison to other carriers out there... As much I love to waive a near perfect on road record between '87 and '17, it really provides very little satisfaction in the way of rates etc. I am simply resigned to the fact that I carry the load for less prudent drivers and or what I witness on my daily driving adventures. It's almost comical in some situations.

I've been with them for several years. Have homeowner's and auto insurance with them but am taking my homeowner's and auto insurance and going back to a class company - USAA. My husband, who is a retired, disabled Special Forces Army Officer, had an accident Monday totaling his Mustang. My issue is that since the inception of this claim on Monday, they have transferred us to no less than 5 adjusters, no one will return phone calls and when they do, each person is not knowledgeable about the law.
I'm a 40 year retired paralegal and I don't need anyone talking down to me and attempting to educate me on the law. These people are basically just phone jockeys, not attorneys. I'm one step below an attorney. I think the people who are their adjusters are unqualified, rude, condescending, and basically just really stupid. Just save your money. Go to a reputable company like State Farm, Farmers, Allstate, USAA, etc. Also, their gecko is NOT cute and rather than spend millions and millions on advertising this stupidity, why not just hire better, more educated people and pay them better?

I cancelled my auto policy and switched to Progressive for better rates. After cancellation I received a bill for $67 because GEICO misapplied discounts to the policy. There was no communication other than the balance due and a request to pay or show proof that I was insured prior to the cancellation date with another provider which I did. I still received a collection notice and called Geico to remedy. That is when I was informed I owed $67 more for a mistake they made when applying a multi-car discount. There was no communication other than the bill and a request to show I had another policy. I was under the impression that companies are responsible for providing communication for the amount owed and what the charges are for.
I pay in 6 month increments and to my knowledge my policy was paid in full. I don't recommend Geico. They acknowledged the lack of communication and were only focused on collecting the money they hadn't collected due to a mistake they made and now they want to collect retroactively. I was also told a supervisor would call me back and that didn't happen. Where do I send the bill for the time I had to hold while my cancelled auto policy was reviewed multiple times. I will be moving my homeowners policy too. I don't recommend Geico!

After doing an online quote, called customer service. They went back 5 years and pulled up things that were about my son and girlfriend and not me, my quote went up. Then they said I owed them 420 dollars from 2012. So I had to pay that before we could move forward with my quote so I did. Then they did another review on me and my quote went up more. After 45 mins on the phone she then told me that she would have to mail me an application and I'd have to thoroughly go through it and fill it out and I would not be covered until it was filled out and returned via mail. In the meantime it would lapse my insurance.
So GEICO gives false rates to get you to call them and if you owe past money that's their way of collecting it and then not insuring you. And the rate giving online is only a way for them to get you to call them and they then can try and convince you to be insured by them and beware your rate will 100% change. No matter what they quoted you it's not guaranteed. Geico is a scam and the only way they can get people to call is by giving fake quotes online. Companies like them are based on false advertising and shouldnt be allowed to scam people like that. I cancelled my insurance with my other provider only to be lied to by Geico and now I have no insurance because of the lapse they caused me. Bad business and sneaky tactics, beware of Geico's false quotes. Terrible practices.

First, let me say this company is total fraud alleging to be a quote MILITARY company. They are NOT even associated with MILITARY in any way. That was a mere consumer hoax to attract MILITARY members active, retired, reservists any branch to do business with GEICO insurance. Second, let me say they keep you on the phone for hours and state you could save even more by combining home insurance with auto.
All they do is FARM OUT home insurance to other companies. You yourself could easily have called without the fraudulent GEICO personnel pretending to be YOU, quote to other REAL companies that are far far cheaper than GEICO. At this time GEICO is doing 6 month insurance policies and charging more than triple other companies for a YEAR policy. FORGET getting home insurance with them. It is a total FRAUD SCAM of GEICO. They contact other companies, put you on hold on phone while they are pretending to be you the CUSTOMER.
Third, this one you will love. GEICO driver safety program they offer. You log into their website and then pay a fee per driver rather than per household, and you pay $20 for a $1.00 savings or less. It's a total scam at best. Fourth, let me say when I received notice of insurance hike we found out the so called GEICO call representative NOT licensed professional insurance agent turns around and then states that some of GEICO call representative added more miles to my car than I was actually driving which caused rate hike so I said, "Fix it or I will drop you," as the company that formerly insured me over 12 years to date.
THIS COMPANY IS A TOTAL FRAUD. In terms of consumer insurance provider, Farmers Insurance Group, Allstate.com, Travelers (Flying J) is far cheaper and quotes insurance for automobile per YEAR not a mere 6 month policy terms which is total rip off to all consumers for auto, motorcycle, boats, planes and more. The company is based in San Diego California depending on who you talk to. Fourth, Let me say this. The company is total FRAUD. Per phone call depending upon who you talk to they quote completely different price. Depending on the day you call and who you talk with each representative adds on commission per phone conversation with each consumer needs. Total fraud.

This August, I was in a car accident that totaled my car. Fortunately, I was not at fault, and GEICO helped me handle all processes regarding my car in an appropriate manner. They were great about communicating with me, leaving comprehensive messages, and answering the phone when I needed to call them about certain issues regarding the accident. Unfortunately, I had to be admitted to the hospital due to the accident, and this is the side of GEICO that was not so helpful. Upon leaving the hospital, I was handed a sheet of paper from the insurance consultant at the hospital and was told to bring it back, filled out, the next day. I did so, and received no further instruction. Two months later, I am being contacted by the hospital in multiple ways (email, phone, mail) and they are saying that they never received payment.
Since I was not at fault, the payment was not to come by me. Long story short, I am told by the hospital to contact one specific person about sorting out this issue. First, my mother contacted this person and it went to voicemail which had an outdated message claiming that they would be out of town for a certain period of time, and it was already past that period. Then, a few days later after receiving no response, I called this person and again it went to voicemail, this time with the voicemail message fixed. I leave a message and after a week, still no callback. Then I call a second time, leave a message, and still no callback.
Another week later (after my second detailed voicemail was not returned), I call again, and still no answer. This time, I called GEICO 's main number, was forwarded to auto claims, and I asked to speak to a supervisor. After a few minutes, I was forwarded to the supervisor and again, I get voicemail. I have left this supervisor another detailed message, and I hope that they will get in touch with me soon, but I am not hopeful. In all, if you are in the unfortunate situation that you have a medical bill that needs to be paid by GEICO or the other party, (politely) demand to sort out the problem with the first person who contacts you about it, because you will be hard-pressed to get in touch with the appropriate personnel if you miss a call.

I called in Sept 2017 for a quote as I was shopping for new homeowners and auto insurance. I received the quote and was satisfied but then the representative kept badgering me that I needed to give her authorization to "lock in the homeowner's quote". This would allow Geico, underwritten by Liberty Mutual, to start my policy and take the premium from my mortgage holder after 48 hours. BUT, if I canceled within 48 hours everything would stop and nothing would be done. They had a good price so I relented knowing I'd cancel in time if I decided not to go with Geico. That is EXACTLY what I did. I called at about the 40th hour, was transferred and spoke with Liberty Mutual, and stopped the policy from going into effect. All was right in my insurance world.
About a month and a half later I get a check in the mail for the full amount of the premium as a refund. "That's strange, I never paid that and it never came out of my checking account." After a few frustrating phone calls to Geico and Liberty Mutual we figured out what happened. The amount of the premium was taken out of my escrow account with my mortgage holder. Alright, irritating and I certainly won't use Geico after this but I'll just go deposit it back. Well, since my taxes and insurance premium from my actual insurance company had just been taken out this unauthorized withdrawal left my escrow with a negative balance.
The negative balance resulted in my mortgage payment going up for the month. Luckily depositing the check back in set things straight but this was a whole lot of frustration, headache, and a 30 minute drive to the closest Wells Fargo that I will never even think about using Geico again. They screwed me once in 1996 when they dropped my comprehensive coverage after my wife had an accident without notifying me beforehand but I figured I'd give them a chance after 21 years. Sent people to my house without properly notifying me and I have Geico people at my home were children between 2-4 years of age were scared because they have been taught to never allow strangers in our home, and they are trained to not ever open the door without calling us and physically walking to the door.
It's not the worst thing to go through but I'm so fed up, It makes no sense that a simple claim takes over 50 days from today. These people are here to take money from you every month and then when something happens and you use a service God knows how much we've paid insurance company and have literally never use them until now. So I purchased a new car and the insurance company that I was with jacked my rates so I switched to GEICO. Worst mistake of my life! 1 week later I total the car and GEICO refused to pay since it happened "suspiciously" after I switched to GEICO. Even though me and my wife have been paying for full coverage for close to 15 yrs continuously without a claim! I had to store the car and purchase another out of pocket.
I'm waiting for my wife to graduate with her RN degree before we file an official lawsuit since we didn't want to deal with a lawsuit while we are so consumed by her school and my business. The cherry on top came in the form of a letter yesterday from GEICO telling us our insurance is terminated due to the claim that they didn't pay! Plus now I can't get another insurance due to this claim from GEICO. This is just absolutely the worst company I've ever dealt with. I got duped into saving 10% on my rate by absolutely getting screwed over. Please pay the extra 10% for another insurance company to not fall into the same situation I did.

My car was hit in the parking lot by an uninsured driver. However, the driver was considerate enough to come find me and tell me that she hit my vehicle. We exchanged information and I filed a claim. Now, despite many calls to the claims department from both me and the woman who hit me, the matter has still not been settled. It's been nearly three months because perhaps out of every four calls I make, only one gets returned. The woman even gave me a call list to show how she's been trying to get in touch with GEICO in order to set up a payment plan. Seriously?!?! The person who hit me and damaged my car is being more proactive than my own insurance company that I pay monthly. It's utterly ridiculous. As soon as this year is up, I'm dropping this insurance and trying Allstate. The people I had to work with at Allstate when handling my mother's accident were far more professional, courteous, and on the ball than this lot.

I had always respected GEICO, as they were so involved with the military when I lived in San Diego, CA. Now I am sickened, as they have shown their true colors. My son served in the US Navy and after 4 years moved to a small town in WA to go to school on his GI Bill. He was just in his '20s and was driving a small beater car to get to and from school. While at a stoplight, an insured Geico driver in a big vehicle with a wench, plowed into my son's small car, and totaled my son's car. My son, being unaware of the "big insurance company business ploys", did not go to a hospital, as he thought he would be OK at the time, because "he was young and could handle it". When I was informed, days later, I had a fit!
I am an ER nurse and know that you need to be checked out after an accident. He did not heed my advice. He soon experienced problems, as he was rear ended, sitting turned towards his right to the passenger side of the car, so the injury was not a normal front to back, which is not good, but a diagonal injury is worst! My son had USAA and was seen for his injury later by a chiropractor/doctor. Geico refused to cover any of the injuries that were over and above what USSA paid, and has put him through hell! He was just asking for the amount owed above what the insurance paid out, which was under 5000.00. He was not asking for much, except to be compensated for an ACCIDENT THAT WAS NOT HIS fault!
He moved away to continue his education and is now back in Spokane working on a master's degree. He is still being treated with disrespect, having to get an attorney, going to depositions in Seattle and while on his way Geico attorneys cancelling his meetings/deposition. Long story short, they have dragged this out and now want to go to trial next year! My son is in an intense master's program that takes 3 years and crams into 1 year, and cannot miss school, or afford to take trips, but has had to take two trips to the west side of the state for Geico. Going to trial is a gamble for Geico, but I have informed my son that he may only sue for the minimum amount, but IF HE LOSES, HE WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE WHOLE EXPENSE OF THE TRIAL AND WILL BE SUED FOR THAT AMOUNT! A trial can run over 100,000.00.
Most people are not aware of this and my son, who was involved in an accident that was accepted by GEICO as "not his fault" could be ruined financially by these corporate slums!!! But if my son wins at trial the poor guy, who is represented by GEICO, will most likely be sued by his own insurance company to recoup the loss. NOT COOL GEICO! This was not a big settlement, as he needed his medical covered, probably would of taken a small compensation and to have his attorney paid, as he was forced to get an attorney because Geico played games. They are taking advantage of the little guy. My son is a honest, hardworking vet and is educating himself to be a productive member and contributing member of society, but this is what the insurance companies do, instead of pursuing those that scam and lie. Thanks Geico for your support. NOT!

I’m refused the offer, and hired an independent appraiser and GEICO hired their preferred paid for hire hustlers. After 5 months and 18 days they came back with an offer on the lowest end of fair Kelley Blue Book.
The original offer included tax so a normal assumption would be that the settlement offer would include tax but it’s just another opportunity to add insult to injury and screw the customer of 10 years a little bit harder. This by far is the worst experience I can remember other than finding the truck was gone at 5:00 am when it wasn’t time to go to work. I kept getting different adjusters working on my case because they say they work as a "team". It got so bad and nothing was getting done. My boyfriend had to deal with them because I believe they were a little sexist. The dealership that was even fixing my car called me and even told me it should NOT take this long and GEICO was being very difficult.
That is just the icing on the cake. It gets much much worse. I did half the work for my adjuster because I wanted my deductible paid for since it was the other guys fault. My adjuster told me if I got the police report for them it shouldn't be a problem. I finally got it and they told me they could not get a hold of his insurance. Me and my bf told them to spam the phone number and send the gentlemen that hit me a certified letter.
A few days later my adjuster tells me he has fake insurance and I'm going to have to pay my deductible and if I want my deductible back then I will have to sue him in small claims. No help from them. That's it. I dropped them shortly after that. Nothing they were saying was making sense and caught them in a lot of lies and didn't like that my bf had to deal with everything because they were sexist.
It took me a year to get my policy from them because I needed it for small claims but they would not call me back or give it to me. Just filed my small claims. The car that hit me was a manufacturer car. Their insurance contact me. She told she saw this claim come across her desk in December 2015 easy payout deductible. All she wanted was my policy and paperwork from dealership I was getting it fixed from and GEICO never got back to her. So GEICO didn't do their jobs. They lied to me numerous times about numerous things. The BIGGEST one is the other driver having insurance. And having me jump thru hoops for the last 2 years to get my deductible back... Had a tire blow out on me recently. It was after 9:30 p.m., and as I don't have a mobile phone, I had to rely on the kindness of others. Fortunately I had managed to drive my car to the nearest gas station and was able to get help from a customer. I then called GEICO for roadside assistance. After informing me that I wasn't covered for roadside assistance they hooked me up with a towing company that they recommended. O.K., so then I was connected with the towing company and was told it would be about an hour before they could reach me.
I waited for an hour... and then another hour... and then after close to waiting for three hours I called GEICO again. The gas station had closed by this time and I was now completely alone and stranded in a not so great neighborhood. Fortunately, a potential customer pulled into the station, thinking they were still open for business. So I was able to use her phone; it was now after 1:00 am. - So I called GEICO again and was told that they had no idea why the tow never arrived but that they would call another towing company.
So I then waited another couple of hours - (all the time alone and stranded at a vacant gas station). Another couple of hours passed with no tow truck in sight. I walked a couple of blocks to a motel and woke the night manager to ask to use his phone. He barely spoke any English so it took some time to get him to understand.
O.K,. so now I'm calling GEICO a third time (around 5:00 a.m.) and I'm not exactly in a very cordial mood. They told me that the reason the first towing company didn't show up was because I didn't have a phone number to give them. WTF?!?! - I clearly told GEICO (on every phone conversation) that I was using others' phones. Their response to this was to inform me that they would contact the first towing company that they had originally called and that I should go back to my car and wait.
FINALLY, a tow truck showed up at around 6:00 a.m. - they wanted to charge me over $200 just to tow me from the gas station to a local tire store (less than a mile away); mind you, this was the initial towing company that had told me (over the phone) that the tow would be $75. - That apparently is their standard price, regardless of how far your car needs to be towed.
So it was time to contact GEICO a 4th time!!! - They then sent another towing company (what choice did I have but to wait some more..??). When the tow truck driver arrived (around 6:00 a.m.) and heard my story, he felt sorry for me and cut his price in half. He also drove me to a tire store that was much closer to where I live... and he didn't charge extra for that.
GEICO literally left me stranded in a gas station parking lot from about 9:30 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. the next morning. This is inexcusable. I'm a female... I'm alone in a parking lot. I'm in a 'bad' neighborhood... and my so-called insurance company does little of anything to help me. I wonder if they would have done more had I purchased their roadside assistance along with my insurance. I would have done so if I couldn't have afforded the extra expense. I've only been with GEICO a short time, but I will NOT RENEW my insurance with them when it expires. As I stated above, this is INEXCUSABLE!!!

We decided at that point something did not feel right and shopped around and found another company who was nearly $500 cheaper than Geico even with renters insurance and switched.

I went online to pay my bill and noticed they wanted 470.00 for the month on September.
So me thinking this must be an error so I called and spoke to a representative and he told me, "The reason for your increase in your bill is because of your particular area, people don't turn on their blinkers when they turn which causes accidents, also you have people texting while driving." And I said, "Sir what does that have to do with me. I have been a faithful customer for 19 years. I don't do those things and then he says, "Well let me tell you how you can lower your rate per year. All you have to do is take the defensive driving course online and save one hundred and something dollars per year." And I said, "Per year. Sir what about the fact that you want me to pay 470.00 and then 315.00 per month going forward every month." I said, "Sir I cannot afford that. Nor can I pay that." I guess this will be my exit from Geico. I told him "I already know about the defensive driving class you have online but that is not going to help me."
He then went on to say, "Well you have time to pay the money. Just pay on it as often as you can, until you get it paid." He then went on to say, "Do you have any more questions," I said no. And he said, "Thank you for calling Geico." Still in a state of shock I waited until I got off from work and I called back thinking I would be able to talk to a supervisor or a manager instead I got another representative and I told her why I was calling and needed to speak with someone who could help me and she said "Well I am the only person who you can speak to about this. We all read the same cards so what do you want me to say different than the other rep." I was gravely disappointed with her conversation as well.
I had to call Geico over a hundred times since being insured by them, and every person I have ever had to deal with was kind and courteous and they always helped me to figure out a way to work out any issue I was having. So I guess this will be the day that me and my family will exit GEICO. I have bragged about this company for many years to so many people, I am truly disappointed and hurt with the way the reps were nonresourceful if I may be allowed to create that word but that's how I feel. Like nothing was accomplished. What happened to this company which to me was phenomenal. GOODBYE GEICO I SHOWED MY LOYALTY. WHERE IS YOURS???

I requested emergency roadside assistance through the GEICO app for fuel delivery. After 20 minutes of the request still being processed, I called GEICO roadside customer service number and was told that they were unable to locate a provider. Why didn't someone call and tell me that? I was then told that I could call a wrecker and pay to have my vehicle towed and wait for reimbursement. That's if I didn't want to wait 2 hours for them to try and find someone to dispatch out to me.
My last option was to call 911 and report a non-emergency and they could come help. I did that and in 5 min a wrecker and local police department was there. I was told I had to pay $160 for a tow to a gas station (a mile away) and if I didn't have the funds my vehicle would be impounded. I called GEICO again because the wrecker told me the insurance company should be able to pay the fee over the phone. The rep said that wasn't an option because GEICO doesn't have a credit card to do so. (Most major insurance companies do.)
Again I was told to pay the fee and submit for reimbursement that could take three weeks to get back. I pay for roadside in my policy and called for $5 worth of gas and after two hours ended up being inconvenienced by having to pay out of pocket for a tow because GEICO couldn't find someone to bring their customer $5 worth of gas. Fortunately I was able to pay the wrecker, but the lack of accommodation for your customer is unbelievable. All of this at 5 in the morning in a dark highway. I've been with GEICO for only two months. I switched from State Farm but will definitely be going back!

My experience with GEICO for the last few months has been HORRIBLE. I am constantly told something new each time I call regarding my policy and payment plan. GEICO online services enrolled me in one large payment plan policy. I tried several times to have the representatives switch my payment plan back to monthly payments. I had to call every two weeks for about two months to make payments on my policy to keep my policy from canceling because the system expected one large payment.
Eventually I was able to speak to a supervisor that assured me that my payment plan was switched back to my monthly payments. Long story short, she lied. I had a notification that I needed to pay 400.00!!! Yes 400.00 on my next payment instead of my monthly amount of 172. I called back and spoke with another supervisor, of course she couldn't do anything for me. Calls are recorded to protect customers and employees and at a time that I need GEICO more than ever, no one would help me.

In August of this year I decided to switch to Geico as their rates were pretty good. Saved us $400 per year figured why not. A couple of weeks later received a letter asking for proof of registrations. FAX, EMAIL, OR MAIL. I sent via email. This was done on August 16th 2017. Then today I get a letter from Geico - stating on October 6th they will be canceling our insurance due to not responding to a request. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? How STUPID are they. I called the number on the letter - conveniently no answer - saying call during business hours.
So I called regular Geico 1-800 number. They answered - were oblivious to the cancellation. I told them... you take my money... and I have proof that I honored their request. They said call tomorrow. I said... CANCEL NOW!! I got better things to do than prove myself. If I have to do this at the beginning of a policy... hate to only wonder if I had a claim. NO WAY NO HOW... went back to Progressive. Same rates too. GEICO CAN KISS MY BUTT.

This has to be one of the worst companies in business today. I started doing business with Geico February 2013. In August 2017, Geico drafted my account for the wrong amount, which caused me to incur (2) overdraft charges from my bank. I received a bill from this company, which prompted me to call. 9/1 - s/w a Geico representative and was told they doubled the draft amount because I was removed from auto draft (not only was that wrong, but that particular payment was auto-drafted). 9/5- s/w another representative and was told Geico needed to put me on a 3-way call (Geico, my bank, & myself) in order to get this cleared up. The bank rep confirmed the fees assessed and the dates. Geico then told me the request for refund would be submitted on 9/6 and I should have my money by the following Wednesday 9/12.
9/11 - called back for an update. Geico supervisor told me they would need a running statement of my account, to confirm the amount in my account on the day of the initial insurance draft. (I guess the bank representative was lying on my behalf). I emailed that information over, and asked that a manager call me back. Geico said it would take 48 hours for the call back from a manager. 9/12- I called again for an update, and was told it would take 48 hours for the email to be processed, and then a manager would call me. 9/13- Geico manager called and said the email hasn't been received. I emailed to his personal email. When the manager called me back he agreed to remove $20 from my balance, but I still had a balance of $18.76.
I reminded him that Geico still owed me for NSF fees charged by the bank. And to my surprise; this manager then stated he would need to research and locate the initial conversation... WTH!!! Finally after all of that, I received a call back to confirm they would be refunding the NSF fees to me. I told them to please deduct the measly $18.76, and refund the balance. Can you believe this company would squabble about $18.76 even though they've caused a CUSTOMER all of this stress. I quiver to think how this would have gone down if I had filed a claim and needed their help. My advice to everyone is DO NOT do business with this organization.

I had GEICO for 6 months now and I had got my tires stolen off my brand new 2017 car that also had got scratched which looks like who ever stole my tires must of rub against my car while take the tires and left a scratched at the bottom of the back passenger door. I called GEICO and made a claim and told them everything. They told me don't worry they will have a inspector come and inspect the car and give a estimate of the damages and I will just have to pay my deductible. The inspector called about a week later and gave me the estimate which only covered the tires and not the scratch. I asked him why and he told me he didn't see any scratch probably because it was dark while he was inspecting my car. I asked him why would you inspect a car in the dark.
He told me that I can tell the company that was doing the repairs they can send over a supplement and that he would go back to inspect again and add it on to my estimate and i'll just pay my deductible. Another week goes by I get a call and GEICO tells me they can't add the scratch on because it don't look related. My car is brand new, never been in any accident and once my tires was stolen there was a scratch right where the tires was stolen. How can they say it wasn't related and how do they know that. I thought that was why people get full auto coverage and a brand new car but it seems like GEICO are beating people out of their money. They don't mind taking your money but don't want to pay out when its time for them to. I canceled my policy with them and trust me I will not be going back. I feel like they also robbed me.

Reported this to Geico and 24 days later the only person who's contact Geico has been me. Furthermore, they are refusing to accept this claim. They are arguing this damage was already there. They will have to prove this I'm guessing as we plan on filing a LAWSUIT for Breach of Contract if Geico doesn't take control of this situation "YESTERDAY". Like others on this site, any attempt to contact claims automatically takes us to a voicemail. I'm guessing it's their attempt to sweep this case under the rug. Well, do I have news for them.
If GEICO is doing this to many people maybe it's time to consider Class Action Representation… consumer affairs doesn't seem to do much. Another part of the story... I'm currently in the process of an "Underinsured Claim" claim against Geico. Maybe they don't like this so they are trying to figure out a way to take back their losses. Did I mention that the action Geico took on the day I reported the claim was... they raised my rates... can. No reply, no call back, just raised my rates. And they also lowered my coverage without telling me. According to them I'm supposed to get my updated coverage via email... which I asked for because I never received it.

I was hit from behind by a GEICO insurance holder in late July. GEICO immediately called me to tell me that they accepted full responsibility for the accident and that no deductible would be involved in getting the car repaired. While the accident was low speed, our relatively new Tucson sustained nearly $2000 in repair costs. I went to the auto repair shop they recommended (my own insurance company also uses them).
All seemed to be going well ("seemed" is the operative word) and it looked like it would be completed in about two weeks. So far, so good. The GEICO adjuster at this facility was supposed to be following the cars' progress and keeping us updated. When we went to pick up the car, the supervisor at the car facility showed us the repairs to the back and lift gate which looked terrific. When we were about to leave with our car repaired, I went to open the lift gate to put an item in, and then the problems began. The lift gate opened only with great effort, NOT the way the car went in for repair. Suddenly, the person transferring the car back to us told us that, in fact, the right lift cylinder was broken (he suggested from the beginning of the repair). He said his mechanics had to hold it up with a special tool/rod to do their work.
Odd, no one, not the repair shop or my GEICO "advisor" who was pledged to keep me informed throughout this process ever contacted me over that 8 days AND wouldn't have ever told me unless I had tried unsuccessfully to open it while still in their parking lot! Never, during this process except at the original intake of the car, did I see my "advisor!" It was also complicated by the fact that while fixing this very lift gate that the mechanic had needed to "drill out some rivets," two of which still had their heads making noises like metal washers on a kid's slide whenever the gate was lifted... And still they failed to even mention this?
The auto repair facility offered to put on two new lift cylinders with no charge but I would have to buy them myself (they claimed that the oil/dirt on the right side cylinder evidenced that this was my problem, not theirs). But, to do so would take ANOTHER full day at the shop the following week if I chose to go that route. By this time my wife and I are VERY frustrated and disappointed by the process, or the lack thereof.
The following Monday, caught between having a broken liftgate and this situation, I told him to order the parts and my wife and I would bring it in to repair the liftgate and get rid of the sound associated with the first repair. He said plan on about 30 minutes to do the job. We brought the car back in at the end of the week, prepared to wait the 20-30 minutes and be off with our car. Unfortunately, after 90+ minutes and one false start, the supervisor (again, NO GEICO person around) said that they had been unable to get rid of the sound in the lift gate (they were able to fish out one of the two rivet heads, but not the other). Sooo, it was either live with the noise of bring back our car NEXT week, and leave it the whole day to give the workers time to take care of the noise!
At this point my wife and I are simply tired of the wait and a process which seemed to have no end. We took the car home... And, by Sunday, the last rivet head seemed to have found a quiet home still inside the lift gate. I have now talked to GEICO reps on the phone 5 different times, each time being told that they would have my local GEICO advisor and her supervisor call me. Over the last three weeks, not one phone call at all. The last GEICO person I talked to on the phone said her supervisor suggested that perhaps it was because of the demands on insurance companies by Hurricare Harvey that delayed any response!!! A poor excuse for the total lack of service since the accident was in late July and the car first "fixed" by August 14th. The net result, my car is back, the "actual" repair work is fine, but I am out over $120 out of pocket, the rivet is still there, and STILL no call by GEICO.

So, now my vehicle has been declared a total loss (salvaged vehicle) to be precise per the Customer Service Agent in Georgia. Our insurance is paid on time via automatic draft. So the understanding was that if one has an accident and has a total loss. Geico would ensure that The Customer is taken care of! That the vehicle would be replaced and all taken care of. Well, this has not occurred... Geico agents have stated when one obtains insurance that Geico will take care of everything in a timely manner. I filed a vandalism claim on 08/02/2017. The incident occurred after 9:30 pm on 08/01/2017. I discovered the keying of my car the following morning. I called the police department. They informed me to file a report online. After filing the report I called Geico and reported the incident. I filed a claim with Geico. I spoke to a lady and she was very nice, she apologized for me having to go through this and said that I can take my car to one of their body shops and there would be a rental car waiting there for me. I told her I would like to take my car to a body shop of my choice. She said I'd have to take my car to a Geico adjustor who would give me an estimate and check for damages. She came back on the line after putting me on hold and stated. Their check printer was down at that location, but the adjustor would mail a check out.
The adjustor Jacob ** took pictures and came back with an estimate that he emailed to me since no printers worked in the office. He said the check would be in the mail and to me within a couple days. I asked him. If I could just take the car to shop and pick up a rental. He said yes. My rental was approved. A week goes by and no check. I get a call from a claims examiner, Stacie **, at 4:30pm when her shift ends. I work until 6pm so I received a voicemail stating something is wrong with the claim and the rental needs to be returned that day, that they will not cover the rental anymore. At this point I immediately called back and got her voicemail. When I spoke with Stacie, she said there were some issues and the claim is not approved and needs more review. I was completely confused. She asked if a lady named Cathy had contacted me. She did not. Cathy ** is a field interviewer.
I asked for her phone number so that I can contact her, she wouldn't give it to me. I explained to her that I couldn't return the rental, my car is in the shop waiting to get worked on. She said she would email Cathy and she would call me. I spoke with Cathy and she said we need to have an interview. She asked if I had filed a police report. I said yes, and told her “I could tell you over the phone what happened. It won't be any different than the police report.” She said “No I have to interview.” So we met, she recorded our interview... with many questions... what happened, who I talked to that morning, who I was with the night before, what I did 48hrs prior to the incident, if I knew the body shop owner, how I was referred... I felt like this was an investigation on me, as if I was the criminal. She then requested that I provide her with phone records for a month and payment history on my car loan for the past 3 months.
I've provided everything she's asked. She even got personal with a remark about my daughter and then apologized stating it wasn't her place. I get another phone call from Stacie asking why I haven't returned the rental. I said “I told you I don't have my car, it's in the shop.” She said to tell them to put your car back together and go pick it up! Your claim is still being investigated and not approved. I said “What exactly are you investigating? It got keyed!” She said “Due to the extent of the damages we just "feel" something isn't right and may not pay this at all!” At this point in livid!! Asked to speak to a supervisor, she's transferred me to a voicemail. Like she's done before. No one ever returns calls. I left a message of how unhappy I am and if I don't get answers I will be getting an attorney. The supervisor calls me back about 4 hours later. Apologizes for Stacie’s lack of people skills.
Said she would talk with her. She basically said the same thing, but explained things weren't handled or explained properly to me. Basically now I’m waiting on Cathy to submit her report on whether or not this is approved. I've also filed a case with California Department of Insurance. Look into the Unfair Settlement Practices Act. Claims cannot be delayed… which I feel is what they are trying to do. I left out some stuff, or else this would have dragged on forever. The way Geico handles claims is definitely not as easy process as they claim. They make you feel horrible, stressed and not someone they appreciate as a client. On Monday morning I called Geico only to find out the forms that I was supposed to fill out was if I use any of my vehicle skills for business use. Of course I didn't. So they cancelled my policy without notice for such a ridiculous reason. They also claimed that they sent out letters regarding the cancelled notices but I never received it. Shouldn't they notify us by email or telephone that they cancelled the policy?
On that Monday afternoon, while I was completing my forms and trying to get the paperworks processed, my sister drove her car and had hit a car that was driving around in the parking lot. Unfortunately, my sister's car was uninsured at that time because I didn't get my forms in until after that two hours later as I found out about the accident. So we were driving our vehicles for over one month without insurance and without any notice from GEICO. Shouldn't Geico still be liable for our claim since they were the ones who didn't notify us and canceled our insurance? So everyone who is thinking to give Geico a try, don't! The underwriter took more than 3 months to get back to me about questioning the final decision on the incident for my car which was not my fault, and they raised my insurance by a lot. They do not give discount if you renew their policy, instead, they keep raising the prices. Stay away from this company.

I have had GEICO for 4 yrs. My oldest child just got her license June 1, 2017. She flew to Texas to be with her dad for the summer, like she does every summer. She was returning home before school started on August 10, 2017. I haven't seen her before that. I called Geico to add her on the August payment. The rate went from $103.00 a month to $ 321.00 a month. So as a single mom I scrambled to find someone cheaper. Which I did. I canceled my policy with them. They proceeded to tell me I still owed money to them for my daughter that was in Texas with her dad? They charged me for the month even though she wasn't here. I will never ever let anyone I know think that they are good. They don't tell their customer about the hidden fees until it is too late. The customer service rep Billy ** could have helped me. But chose not to.

I cancelled my auto insurance policy with GEICO. They have taken the monthly payment out of my checking account for a policy that I no longer have with them. When I called regarding this, I get the runaround. They said they can give me a partial payment back in 14 days. "For what?" I ask? I no longer have insurance with Geico, I found someone cheaper with the same coverage. If I no longer have their services that was cancelled well before the due, why take my money and then OH DO ME A FAVOR by giving me a partial payment back. Because of this, I have now cancelled my motorcycle insurance with them as well.

THAT WAS WHEN I WAS TOLD MY RATE WENT UP ABOUT $100!!! I am looking to leave...

Hi. I've been with Geico 17 yrs and despite premiums going up, etc. I have always had great service with geico until recently. On April 28th I was rear ended at a traffic light. It was red. Don't know anything about the person rear ending me, all I know he was male... After he hit me in my Mazda he ran the light and fled the scene. There were no witnesses that got his license info. He hit me hard enough to hit the mini SUV in front of me. There were 4 lovely ladies that were fine (thank God) and the damage to their car was the cheap plastic rear bumper was smashed. My Mazda however was worse, broken front bumper and damaged hood that was dislocated.
Geico first texted me the Mazda was easily repairable. Yay right? 29 minutes later new text from the geico goon that claimed it was a total loss. I thought **, but oh well, Geico had always been fantastic! At 2:18 am 2013 one of their late night representative saved my life. My 99 Toyota Camry was destroyed. The back left tire had just disintegrated at a rate of at 70 miles an hour in cream of Nowhere Oklahoma.
I had full coverage, the representative from Geico was amazing. He asked me where I thought I was and I told him. He was from Ponca City Oklahoma and he knew exactly where I was. He asked me if I was bleeding? And if so get in the car and if there's any broken windows try and put a suitcase against it etc. I asked him why because there was nobody around... Nobody I mean it. He said "I'm from that area. What you don't know is there's a lot of vicious wildlife and if they smell blood they will viciously and violently eat you." Of course I was in shock and I start laughing...
Anyhow, I got back in the car, put a suitcase against the back window and sure enough within 15 minutes there were three coyotes whining and screaming and jumping on my car and trying to get in. These critters were going to eat me alive. They had not had a delicious Kansas City steak in a long time. I'll never forget that representative and I fell in love with Geico. He saved my life.
Another time, I was about to go under an underpass as a train was going over it... The train hit a large rock and hit my windshield by the passenger side, completely smashed that side and if somebody had been in the in the passenger seat adios right? This wonderful young girl that worked for Geico did her best to try and locate that train company, the railroad track company, etc. She really tried hard. No luck so I was lucky I only had to pay 250 for a beautiful repair job. Anyhoo, they were wonderful. They fixed my situation in no time with the Mazda. Geico fixed it beautifully. No hassles, lovely people and as much as they tried they gave me a lousy cup of cappuccino but they did try.
OK fast forward two months ago to 2017 on April 28 the claim was still open about the Mazda but Geico took care of it... Took forever to get reimbursed. I'm chapter 13 bankruptcy and not ashamed because it's happening to everybody these days. A dear friend of mine loan me $3000 and I bought this beautiful 2005 Toyota Corolla mint condition 90,000 miles. What a deal!
Of course me being of Romanian heritage American I have the worst luck. I probably had some other relative put a gypsy curse on me. Who knows? I called Geico and was so excited and of course the friendly representative acted excited too and they told me that since it was an older car I would have to get it inspected and registered and they could give me full coverage. But until I did that I could only get liability since I already had a claim that was still open. Otherwise I would be paying for two for policies. It would cost a lot of money so of course I believe them because I have autism and friendly people make me happy and I believe friendly people.
Well wouldn't you know it... It was bumper-to-bumper on June 2 Friday night in downtown Kansas City. The light turned green. I shifted the gear from park to drive only to find out I was going backwards and a car honked. I looked down. Not being used to the stick shift I realized I was in neutral so I popped it into drive, pedal on the metal and then I heard the most horrifying sound of crash, smack, Doom, gloom, horror. Of course I screamed like a banshee because I could not believe this could be happening again, accidents do happen! My first instinct because I'm 53 years old was to make sure that the people in the car in front of me were OK!!! I got out of the car, put my hand up and made traffic stop.
I directed the car in front of me to pull over into the parking lot where I work. I am a member of the Kansas City symphony. I play with Viola and all the musicians were coming to the parking lot and totally freaking out. Questions questions. My God. OMG. OMG. What happened? I was trying to check on the three passengers of the car I hit. They seemed fine. The shock is still intense. I asked One of the passengers a very sweet girl if she would take my phone and take pictures of her driver's license or whoever was driving and take more pictures of my car and her car. I had already taken several. Five minutes later I get the phone back from her. We both tried to call the police. They were so busy they asked if the cars are drivable and we both replied yes so they asked us to just take care of it ourselves and then come in and report it.
I reported the accident the next day. I was about to send pictures and realized there were no pictures of the accident or their driver's license. Nothing. Nada.I thought that was a little odd but you know not everybody knows how to use a cell phone so no big deal. I reported to Geico that the pictures were gone and that I was told I could only get liability until my car is inspected and I got a new License plates... Well **, my wonderful new-used car had some bumper damage and maybe a few other things but it drove beautifully.
I explained to Geico on The Gieco interrogation tape that I was told liability only until the inspection happened. Well I forgot that I never canceled my premium insurance and was paying full price and the other claim is still open. So I asked them if I could get my full coverage and I also ask them if it's true what that Representative from Geico told me was true about the inspection and plates before I could get full coverage because that's what I want to do and I was paying for it. Well... Let me tell you I've never ever seen a company turn their back on somebody so fast.
They told me that I was the one who asked for liability not Full coverage and I said well it's on the tape that Geico recorded everything. They told me... That oh, that's just policy that they don't always record stuff. Oh yes they do liars!!!! And we all know that especially an accident they don't want to be responsible right? Long story short I argued with them and they kept telling me I only had liability so that's the way it is and me being so ADD and autism central I believe them because they're friendly and sweet on the phone. Sugar coated steel I call those types.
Oh how I debated with them for several weeks. They won. Blah blah blah. I called some friends had them over for dinner. Because I can't drive anywhere they had to come here. I told him what happened and they said that is absolute **, that I pay for full coverage and no idiot should have told me I could only get liability and especially since my claim is still open from the previous accident in April.
I called every car insurance company in the US and they all told me that Geico gave me bad information and that none of that was true and I should fix it with them but I tried. It didn't work. I have a really bad right foot. Every bone was crushed with an accident I was involved in so I'm disabled. Walking to Quiktrip for nutrition is not good. Candy bars and overpriced junk food just doesn't cut it. Geico also only gave me a rental car for one week and they said that was doing me a favor. They don't normally do that. My friends recommended I call a lawyer and get some good advice so I did and they said Geico is full of ** and their service is gone down in the last several years. They're desperate. They're losing money. They will try and pull anything to keep from paying you what they owe you and they will use every trick in the book and lie about it. For example that they don't necessarily tape conversations... ** yes they do!
Well I called Geico back and told them I think they made a big mistake, please fix it. I have several disabilities and hard to get around and I just have what I have. Can anyone help? My, my. They turned their back on me. They were so rude telling me that I was being rude to them and how Could I question them etc. I need the car. I'm disabled. I have a handicap sticker. I can't walk far. I told them that. They said, "Too bad and I'm sorry to hear about that but there's nothing we can do" for me.
I called the Kansas disability handicapped hotline that supposedly take care of the BS that people do to you when you're handicapped. They sent me a phone number to call the Kansas insurance commissioner which I did call. My God, I had to give them so many forms with the cell phone taking pictures, downloading. I hate cell phones. They're too little and I'm too poor to own a computer because of chapter 13.
I called Geico claim representative number ** and we got into a heated argument and I said, "You know what, I give up." I said, "And to add insult to injury we had a terrible storm the other night and a tree branch fell on the top of my hood making the damage even worse," which it did. Geico wanted me to get off that phone so bad that they became the nicest black widow spiders to me and said, "Well there you have it sir. Go now. You have a claim since you have full insurance." Geico said, "That tree branch probably ruined your car." I said, "Well it sure didn't help..." "Call claims now sir. Let's not waste any more time and have a lovely day. We'll take good care of you." So I called and they said, "We'll send an adjuster out to you immediately." So the adjuster came out from Geico and was really nice and ripped off a piece of paper and said, "Here you go. Take care of this call. My guys and I'll fix everything for you."
I said to him, "Wow. I didn't know the tree branch could cause all that damage," and he said, "It was a combination of collision and tree damage. You're lucky."Two days later I get a phone call from a very mean man named Michael. Yes Michael is this trained pit bull and he accused me of being the biggest fraud on the planet. He said the adjuster told Geico that the collision from the other car did all the damage and that the tree limb did very little.
That's what I figured, so I agreed with him, and then he had to say it... He said to me... "You wouldn't want to do anything stupid would you?" He said, "This is a very stupid claim and you could go to jail for a stupid action that you tried to pull on us." He wanted names and numbers. I gave them to him. I said to him that I would like to investigate this as well.
I called the adjuster from Geico and I was very nice to him and I asked him why he told me everything was fine. He didn't know what to say me number ** person... He said most of the damage was from the collision I had with the car with the teenagers not the tree branch and my lawnmower man removed the tree branch. Big deal. No pictures whatever. I called the interrogator Michael back the next day and said, "Fine I'm not arguing with you but don't you ever call me stupid again. I have a really high IQ. It's just that I have autism, ADD and my brain is like a typhoon." I said, "Pardon me but don't call me stupid," and he got real smart ass on me so I told him, "I would like to introduce him to my friend 'click'."
Any suggestions from anybody? I had full coverage. I paid the max. A misinformed representative told me the wrong thing. Do I have a case? They really have gone downhill. They should be terrific. It's just totally creeps me out that I cannot afford to get a car because they pulled that crap and I could only get liability.I always prided myself with having Street Smarts because I do and I got a very bad gut feeling after talking to that goon who told me the wrong thing. I went with it because I used to trust Geico. Now I'm screwed. Is there any way to fix this and any suggestions?
I can't afford another crooked lawyer. I already had four of them at the bankruptcy court. Oh my God. I make so little money, as a musician and they have the gall to make me do the chapter 13 bankruptcy. They lied. I could've easily done chapter 11. I would've gladly given up that Mazda. I never liked it anyhow was too big for one person. There's no mountainous terrain in Kansas City. There are no mountains that I need to drive in second gear. I never knew yet this is the land of SUVs in Kansas City. It's ridiculous.
Well anyhow those lawyers especially one that I had... One in particular gave me the worst advice in the world and of course me not knowing anything other than music believe her. Well... She screwed up big time and then they fired her ass because she was terrible. So that's my story and I have no car and I have to go to Craigslist and deal with them... The most slimy people on the planet. Thanks for reading this. Any suggestions. I'm a decent person. I just got a few demons up in my head. I swear to you I'm smart. I take medication. I'm not dumb but ** you know??? Argh.

And we have been with them for 9 years and NEVER made a claim. They told me because it was my son and he was living in my house I was giving him access to all the items that were stolen vehicle included. He didn't have a driver's license and never driven any of my vehicles because of that. And then to top that off they told me that I had to continue paying for coverage on a vehicle even after the current term expires or else I could be sued if he has an accident in the vehicle.
I am just beside myself!!! Not only was I taken advantage of by my son but now my insurance company just screwed me too. Theft is theft!!! GEICO took it upon their selves to add a driver to my policy without my knowledge. I did not request or authorize any other drivers to be added. Once I figured out what was going on, I called GEICO. Their response was that I had to fax paperwork to them showing that the driver was covered by another insurance company. (?? How would I even begin to track down that paperwork??)
I immediately found/bought coverage thru a local insurance company. I then called GEICO back and canceled my GEICO account. GEICO sent me some bills stating I owe them. I would call and explain to them the situation and they would say "OK". I finally stopped receiving bills. I assumed the situation was taken care of. I canceled them in February 2017. Then while waiting over 3 weeks for Geico to give me a yah or a nay my car was repossessed by JD Byrider (which is another stay away from) because I didn't make payments while my car was in the tow lot because Geico took so long... I was with Geico for 3 years and was shocked at a recent experience. I called for a quote for adding my wife to my policy. My wife had a Canadian license for many years and I wanted to know if her driving experience in Canada would be counted. The agent told me that it would be and gave me a quote based on her great driving history, and I added my wife to the policy. 2 months later I get a charge taken out of my account for 82$ more than was supposed to. After contacting Geico, I learned that it wasn't up to the sales rep to decide to count my wife's Canadian record, and they charged me WITHOUT NOTIFYING ME an additional 82$ a month.
I asked them what legal right they have to charge me more than I agreed to without asking me. The supervising agent told me that since I gave them my account information, they had the right to charge what they wanted without notifying me. I tried explaining that I specifically asked beforehand if her Canadian history was counted, and was told that the sales rep gets paid by commission and as long as he makes a sale he can LIE about it too. I have since read many reviews with similar issues, and I'm surprised there's no class action lawsuit against them. I would definitely be interested in starting one, as my uncle is part of a popular law firm. I'm looking for more info and hope to try to publicize this dishonesty with Geico because the only way they'll listen is when it hits them in the pocket.

When I lived in Hawaii I always had State Farm insurance for auto and home. When I moved to Florida their rates were much higher so I started to compare. After the bombardment of ads from Geico I decided to give them a try, and I did save money. The problem started because of my mistake, I thought that the last ticket I received was more than 3 years ago, I was wrong, and Geico informed me that they would have to cancel my policy and rewrite it to reflect the traffic ticket I received less than 3 years ago. No problem my fault they were still less than the other major companies.
What they did was, inform the Florida motor vehicle department that my policy was canceled but failed to inform them that I had a new policy with no lapse period. About 2 months later I receive a letter from Florida Motor Vehicle that my license and registration will be suspended unless I prove there was no lapse in coverage. I called Geico and the rep told me that they would contact the FMV and clear the situation for me. A month later I received a notice from the FMV that my license and registration was suspended due to a lapse in coverage. I went to my local FMV branch and they told me what I needed from Geico and the matter would be cleared. It took me 6 phone calls to Geico to finally get a correct letter explaining there was no lapse in coverage, this process took most of the day. The FMV received the 6th letter after their closing time so I was unable to get the suspension over turned that day.
The following morning the FMV called me to let me know they received the 6th letter and asked me to come in to clear the matter. When I arrived the clerk reviewed the letter and noticed that they failed to list both my vehicles, and that I needed them to redo the letter with both vehicles included. Another phone call another rep and had to explain the entire situation again, they rewrote the letter, and about an hour later the FMV received it and were able to overturn the suspension. So this process took at least 8 hours over 2 days to rectify. Fortunately the FMV did not charge me the $150 fee to reinstate my license, but they did charge me $6.50 for tax.
I called GEICO and told the new CSR the whole story again and asked if I could at least get a credit for the $6.50. The agent laughed and told me that could not be done. Needless to say I may have to pay more but I am switching to another company, hopefully I will never have to file a claim with GEICO I can only imagine what that process would be like. Thanks, for reading, and believe it or not I feel better sharing this.

I was rear ended 2 times by teen drivers, 1 was a parking lot incident all held against me even though they had paid out nothing. So I went to another ins co that loved my clear record and is only charging me $750. After collecting 12k in premiums, they felt I was a risk. Go figure. I've been a GEICO company customer for well over 15 years. GEICO was recommended to me from someone that used to work for the company. I've carried the insurance for two different cars, and I've watched my monthly payment on a six month premium balloon from $67.00 when we first started to now standing at $174.40. We've never filed a claim with GEICO. When I called to ask why my policy keeps increasing, I was told that because of claims in my state (FL) and the costs of those claims, I had to pay more on my monthly payment. Mind you, these are claims not from me... But, from other drivers that file claims in FL. So, basically... I'm paying for everyone else that has a GEICO policy claim filed in this state. Total madness.
All that aside, when you have an account on automatic bill pay, at times, when needed, you could delay your payment. I took advantage of this because I had to take care of my wife who was hospitalized, and the medical costs were crazy. The delayed pull from my account was one day early from my direct deposit, and on 07/25 I called GEICO customer service and spoke to a rep to ask if the automatic pull could be delayed one day from 07/27 to 07/28. She told me it was not a problem and that all I had to do was complete my payment the next day, and she would take me off of automatic payments. To our surprise, GEICO still pulled the money from my account, making me have a negative balance in my checking account. When I called GEICO customer service again to ask, I was told that the rep told me misinformation, and that since I called only 48 hours prior to the pull on 07/27, and not 72 hours, the pull processed on 07/27. I was livid.
I told the rep that I was speaking to that since I was told misinformation from one of them, there should be some sort of comp for me, because I went on her word that it was taken care of. I was looking for some sort of consideration on my next payment for the misinformation, or something. I was basically told that there was no comp... That it was an error on the reps part, but, there's nothing that they can do. Almost $200 a month for this insurance, and the monthly payments keep ballooning up. I'm told wrong information from a rep over the phone, and negative on my account, and, it's all on me. Madness!!! Anyone that is reading this, please shop around for insurance... Find out which company really has your back... And which ones really don't.
I'm done with GEICO! Their lackadaisical approach to customer service and what information they provide is appalling! I've done some shopping around and there are a few other companies out there that offer much more with their services for much less. Please, if you are reading this... Pay attention to the posts of people that have filed claims and have been treated sub par from this company. Also pay attention to the shifty customer service. I work in a call center, and if there's a rep that provides misinformation to a customer, we honor the customer, and the rep is called out on the error. This keeps our customers consistent and satisfied, and there's a training opportunity for the rep. This company does not care about that. Hit by another Geico insured driver on 6/19 and totaled my truck 8hrs from home. The other driver was cited and was determined at fault. I was take to the local hospital treated and released with instructions to follow up with a doctor here for my injuries. Reported the accident and waited. 3 days pass, no call from Geico. My truck is still fully loaded with all my work equipment 8hrs from home. A week passes, then a week and a half. Still no update from Geico. Hired a lawyer after reading all these terrible reviews and he instructed me to rent a vehicle myself to drive to get my belongings. I did so. It took him 3 weeks from the date of the accident to pressure Geico to get me a rental vehicle. When they finally did it took them 3 different calls to get the correct vehicle as it is supposed to be a similar vehicle to your own. Meanwhile my truck sat at the tow yard the entire time.
Finally got a call telling me that I had to release my truck to Geico so they could tow it to their adjuster to assess the damage versus an adjuster going to the tow yard. Did so and a week later he barely did a full estimate of damage. "I stopped assessing the damage when I got to the total loss phase" okay? But that's all he would offer for the truck, the half assessed amount to repair it, not fair market value. FF to today... August 1st... Still exactly where I was to start with them. No resolution. Have been out of work since the accident due to my injuries and haven't heard from Geico's damage adjuster regarding my truck since. We have had them for awhile and never had an insurance claim with this or any company.
If you are looking for a decent and fair insurance company the Gecko is not it. They stall your claim and jerk you around. Then when you hire a lawyer they jerk them around until you both get fed up and threaten to sue. Which is where I am at today... A month and a half later. No amount of money saved is worth the hassle of dealing with Geico in the event that you every actually need to use the policy you have paid for.

My girlfriend requested a QUOTE for adding me to the insurance meaning she wanted to know how much it would cost IF I lived with her and IF I drove her car. Shortly after she got an email stating I was added and the insurance would be going up. So she decided to call customer service to get it straightened out, only to be told that the quote wasn't really a quote and that because of certain information it was put through anyway. Why is it called a quote if at any time they can just put it through anyway and jack up your price? Customer service was extremely rude and told her that sometimes you have to watch the information that you put in but now I'm added and they need utility bills in my name to take me off saying I don't live there, but I live with my parents. It's a bunch of ** and my girlfriend has since canceled her policy and got a better price elsewhere.

I moved from Houston to Virginia on July 1st. I supposed to pay my car insurance on July 12th, but I paid a little bit late on July 26th due to moving. I have to pay the insurance coverage fee first, then I can change my new address. But GEICO still wants to take my insurance fee from July 12th to July 26th as it was covered in Houston. It costs me $70 more. That is ridiculous!

My family recently shifted our insurance policies to Geico with the main goal of saving money (recently retired) and to break my son off into his own policy. Once we were signed up and had paid our premiums in full, we have had nothing but problems with this company. Poor and ineffective communication. Misrepresentations of quotes.
Most glaring was the increase the company sent my son of his insurance premium for a minor traffic incident (there was no place on the online quote to report any dmv record information - we completed the quote fully). Three weeks later he was informed that his premium was substantially increased (237%)... To an amount he could not afford. After finding a new insurance company and canceling with Geico... Instead of refunding him based on the online quote... They refunded him based on the higher premium - resulting in a $300 delta. Completely unreasonable and unethical. According to Geico they have 60 days to adjust your premium... However, you have no grace period to find another company should you not be able to afford their ridiculous adjustment. My husband and I are now working on moving our policies again as we do not want to work this company any longer.

They say the increase to due to parts increasing and medical expenses. I have not been at fault for an accident for 20 years.

On June 13th I filed a vandalism claim with GEICO that someone has been meaningfully keying my car and forcing entry to my hood and finder trying to take things off the car that didn't belong to them. I called the city of Binghamton police department around 7:00 about this occurrence which however happened between 1:30 am and 7:00 am because I had to be to work at 7:30 am. I filed the report on June 13th 2017 at 7:00 pm after my arrival home from work.
Mind you I have been taking pics of my car all the time to reassure that this is really happening and getting worse by the day. I've contacted GEICO immediately once my report was in with the Binghamton police department to file a claim. They set me up with a claim specialist by the name of Rachel ** who's now handling my claim at the moment. She stated my claim was on hold due to not having the police report. It had not been in her present. I then obtain the report from the Binghamton city police department uploaded it into my GEICO claim files as an attachment.
Contact her back the next day to see if it's been received and what's the status on my claim. She then stated "I have assigned you an adjuster by the name of Alan. He will come out and take a look at the vehicle and give me estimates on how much the damages it's gonna be." I said ok. Called and set up my appointment. Alan came out that Friday took pics and gave me an estimate of 4,200 in damage to my Lexus. He then gave me the paperwork told me to contact Rachel for any further details.
I then went and contact Rachel to let her know I got my estimate and to see where we are moving forward in this claim. She then stated because of an accident I had back in 9/2017 "There was damage to the hood of your car that at the time you were not covered by the collision. We have to assign this case over to an investigator Craig ** who will conduct an interview with you at your home to get a better clearance of what happened." No problem. Mind you they conducting an investigation on the hood which they do not have estimated in the cost of my repair.
He comes out record me on a tape recorder and ask me a series of questions about the incident. He kept on dragging the part with the hood telling me he cannot determine if the vandalism proves marks were old or came from the previous accident. I told him it happened on a period of time just that day on June 13th. I noticed the key marks and my hood raising up higher and higher as the days went by. He then ask "Was there anybody that seen your car prior to this day that can verify there was no marks on the car before this." I stated yes. I was at my sister's house right before I parked my car at 1:30 am that morning. He then stated "What's her name and address and phone number." Gave it to him.
He immediately after our visit to her house for questioning at around 10:30am. She was just getting up and on heavy medication asking her questions that he made up on his own acting like he reading things off the paper that was said by me. He said I told him that my car was keyed at her house which was not true. Getting her confused on what is been said she told him she's on medication and you coming at me with this at the wrong time and recording me turning the tape recorder on and off for his own personal reading.
She stated to him "You recording me when I don't wanna be recording. I'm still asleep." He screams "Well y'all story not adding up." You think after putting lies in her head about things I never said is unprofessional. For one if you conducting a full investigation you need to speak the truth in all forms client, investigators, adjusters, claim specialist need to all be on the same page. She then told him to leave. "I'm on medication and I can't do this". He left. Then he called her back asking for her Social Security number. She refused to give it cause now he getting personal when she's not a policy holder with GEICO nor is she a driver on my policy. I really believe that he making me feel belittled.
He's racist and he got upset because I got loud at the end of his recording sessions telling him I gotta be to work and "if you can't figure things out go to Lexus get your estimates from them and move forward with this already". I'm a single mom with two kids and two jobs trying to do my best to keep my car on the road to put food and light in my apartment for my kids. I do not have time to fraud GEICO. I been a customer for 2 years with no intention only to get the person causing me all this trouble to my car and my life.
Craig made me feel belittle and he made me feel like a liar for company money where I work hard for minds. I will never put myself in harm's way where I'm in any position where I can be absent in my kids' life. All they got is me. Then later on in the week he requested me to come into an attorney office where he wants copies of my whole year worth of phone records which I do not understand what my phone numbers has to do with this case of vandalism.
I believe he's out to get me for his own reason because he's prejudice against ** and he wants all to fail. I do not want him as an investigator on my claim. Moving forward I will no longer be insuring with GEICO due to such behavior in these people. It's sad when you're the victim of vandalism. He trying to turn this on me fraudulent the company so they don't have to pay out said case. He need to be fired. After all this I don't want the money to fix my car. I just want my life back where I don't have to feel like I did something wrong when I was trying to protect me, my kids, and my car. I felt unsafe driving every day with my 4 year old daughter. Don't know if they gonna cut my brake lines or do anything to put me at harm in driving with my kids.

I had to pay Enterprise a total of $579.66 for a car rental while my car was in the body shop. My new car was hit while shopping at a Wal-Mart. I filed my claim online on 06/03/17. The 1st adjuster came to my house to do an estimate 06/07/17. I had picked my Chevy Dealers Collision Center to do work. No problem. But I had to have another adjuster look at the car once I delivered to the Collision Center because it was in a different county.
I live 2 miles from county line. I informed the 1st adjuster that Collision Center said to bring in on 06/12/17. He said he would contact new adjuster, give him my contact # and where & when car would be in the shop. Asked that I call him after car was dropped off, just in case something changed. I called him when I got home after picking up my rental. Was told my adjuster would be contacting me, that he had all the info. The adjuster didn't show up to estimate until 06/19/17. 8 days later. He was told then one part was on National Back Order. Even if I had gone to GEICOs shop, they would not be able to get the part either. No one could.
1 week before my 30 days on the rental was up, I called GEICO to ask about extending the rental time. "No problem" I was told, "Your adjuster will approve it. It's not your fault about the back order. Your adjuster will call you IF there is an issue." The Collision Center called me on the 30th day and said part still not in. I called GEICO again. Again told no problem, "If you didn't hear from adjuster you are good." 06/20/17 I received a call from Enterprise. I need to return vehicle.
GEICO refused to pay over the 30 days. I owe $409.00. I called GEICO, was told only the adjuster could answer my questions. To pay for it. They might reimburse if adjuster approves. Get a call from shop. I can pick car up on 06/21/17. My car was in the shop a total 39 days. When I dropped vehicle off to Enterprise, total was now $487. They couldn't give me GEICO's rate because it wasn't approved. So between the deposit, the tax on the rental, I paid $579.66 to Enterprise. GEICO's policy is 30 days/$1050.00. Yet they only paid for 29 day, a total of $1015. If the adjuster had shown up in a timely manner, not 8 days later, my car would not have been there past 30 days.
I called GEICO and told them that, plus how can I be penalized for a NATIONAL BACK ORDER? Asked to speak to my adjuster, who at this point and even now, I have never spoke to, he never returned my calls. I waited 3 days, called GEICO. This time I'm not so nice, was told he will call in 30 min. In a meeting. 30 min later a woman calls to tell me my adjuster took off 30 days from work last Friday. She added that while unfortunate, and not an excuse, but they don't have many adjusters.
I asked was it normal to wait that long, she said not that she was aware of. Told me GEICO will not/nor have they ever extended car rentals. Not true. My first adjuster said he knew of a few times. But it was rare. She blamed Enterprise for the 29 days paid not 30. She blamed Enterprise for not giving me GEICO's price. She called me back that afternoon to tell me I have refund coming from Enterprise. She had them adjust price and take 1 day off. That was 06/24/17. I haven't received anything.
I called Enterprise, they have no record of anything about that. I would have no problem paying for 1 day. I was charged for 9 days. The adjuster took 8 days. Plus my deductible of $500. I paid $1079.66 money I had to borrow. GEICO DOES NOT CARE ABOUT THE CUSTOMER. Everything was fine and smooth until the rental issue. Disgusted, disappointed and broke. I'm sure GEICO can afford a charge of less than $500. Their discount alone saved them more than we save as customers.

I live in Redlands, CA and own a 2002 Ford F150. I have comprehensive auto insurance from Geico, because I am still making payments on the vehicle. I have been a customer of Geico for years, make payments on time, and have not been in any recent accidents, thankfully. My parents (also customers of Geico) informed me that Geico would cover auto glass repair at no cost, and have used that to replace glass on their van before.
The other day, something hit my windshield while I was driving and severely cracked the glass, so I called Geico to set up a glass claim. (I had previously gotten an estimate of about $200 to replace my windshield.) After getting an agent on the phone and then waiting on hold for 15 or 20 minutes while the agent did "research," the agent informed me that there is actually a $500 deductible for auto glass repair on my policy. The Geico agent looked up an estimate, and it turns out Geico's OWN estimate was a little above $200 as well. As a result, Geico would not cover any cost to replace my windshield, because it costs less than $500.
What in the world is the point of auto glass coverage with a $500 deductible when most repairs needed only cost $200-250? In order for me to benefit from this "coverage," based on Geico's own estimate of auto glass repair, my front windshield, rear windshield, and at least two of the side windows would have to be smashed before they would even pay one dollar! I find this type of "coverage" to be useless and not very beneficial to the customer. I was also disappointed because other Geico customers (my parents) were able to have complete coverage from Geico when they needed the windshield replaced on their vehicle. My opinion of and satisfaction with Geico has definitely dropped.

7-23-2017 we were hit by ___ in her black 2013 (PO report says 2011) Liberty Jeep on Kaukama St., she came from the shoulder lane trying to make an illegal U-Turn and rammed our van from the passenger door all the way to the back tire. I was pissed after the accident. I asked her, “What were you thinking”. She said, “I was looking at the trail (across the street).” Her insurance is Geico. I told her, “I used to have Geico (found cheaper premiums with Island Insurance more than half). You have to call them right now, send them pictures from your phone, and they are good (use-to be good).”
Police officer shows up, takes our information, and we leave to go pick up our son (already late cause of this driver). Probably one hour later we get a call from Dan a Geico representative. He verifies how many passenger, driver dob, passengers dob, phone #, explanation of what happened. So Dan apologizes and says Geico will take full responsibility. Gave us reservation # for Enterprise Rental **, scheduled earliest appointment Wednesday 9am to get car fixed with Westside Fender & Body.
7-25-2017 Kali (Kay-lee Adj Code **) calls and says you have to return the rental or you will have to pay for the extra days. She said she has to investigate. We argued. Asked her, “Who tells people we’ll take full responsibility then two days later says we have to investigate?” A lot of back and forth arguing. We turned in the rental. The same day at 7pm she calls us back, “My decision is 80/20,” she said “you noticed C__ was trying to park and should have slowed down...” “WTF” yelling “how is it 20% my fault your client hit me trying to make an illegal U-Turn.” “We can negotiate 90/10.” “No I am 0% at fault. Do you understand.” A lot of yelling, asked to speak to her supervisor, hung up.
7/26/17 Steve supervisor calls, agrees with his adjuster 90/10. Steve’s explanation, “You notice maneuver, fail to make any invasive action, not slowing down, not going on to continue. Final 90% rental 90% repair.” Same thing, argued with Steve, would not change. Hung up on him. While on the phone with Steve, missed repair estimate appointment with Westside Fender & Body. Got there at 9:26am. Can’t be more than 12min. late. Went to G & C in Campbell and got a free estimate there.
7/27/17 went to get another estimate and got safety check. From the beginning my wife was talking to our insurance (Island), we only have liability (what is required by law). Calvin from Island advised to go to court but risk judge giving you 0. If you had collision coverage we would fix the van and fight Geico for the full amount. Calvin says he has never heard of this percentage 90/10 80/20 before. It’s unbelievable.
7/28/17 today called Kali 8am. 9am, still no answer. 10:04am no answer. Called 1-800-841-____. Nicole gave me, Kali #** claim#**. Nicole transfer to Kali. Also emailed, left message #4 10:38am. 11:03 am #5 message with name, claim#, ph#. Kali finally called us 7/28 11:21am, asked for reservation rental no. Kali says, “No we have to pay for rental.” Send them receipt then they pay 90% due to not being 100% at fault. They don’t book reservation #. The Geico estimate Tuesday Waipahu 11am. I was wrong it gets worse. I feel I need to get this out because this is so wrong.
I read at least 20 complaints about Geico. I didn’t find one with the same percentage decision. I have never heard of this 90%/10% at fault bull ever. I did read heartless complaints about Geico, like being a customer for over 10 years and rate increased $1200 a year. Also the Geico client who was also told fully covered gets repairs exceeds 1000 dollars or more, Geico tells him “We can’t help you”. The man with the car seats who was told he had to destroy the car seats ($480 each) before he can get any help. I can’t believe what is happening in our case but after reading all the complaints why? Why treat people with such disregard. Everybody is poor except 1% of the population. We only have this one car and your Geico client destroyed it. Do the right thing and compensate for your client’s negligence 100%. If we are forced to have car insurance then the government needs to regulate monsters like Geico.

My husband is a disabled combat veteran and I'm a double amputee, in end stage kidney failure and have had over a dozen heart surgeries. So needless to say we aren't rolling in the dough, we are on a fixed income. We have been with State Farm for almost 7 years. We have never missed a payment, made no claims and have never had any tickets. We started shopping around trying to find a better rate. Everything we own is paid off. We have a truck, motorcycle (w/full coverage) and renters. We also would be adding a 4 wheeler my husband inherited from his late brother. I consulted with Geico on 7/24/17 it seemed like it was going to be a third less, with more coverage and full coverage on our 4 wheeler.
Our current policy with State Farm is paid on the 3rd, and we are paid on the 1st. We told Geico we couldn't start and pay for the new one with them until the first. "No problem" they said. "We will post date it for the 1st" they said. "Noting the acct" they said. Even sent a email confirming it. It's now 7/27/17 and I checked my balance in my account and I am 50.00 in the negative. After looking at the charges I had a 36.00 fee plus the 42.00 Geico took out of my acct without any authorization. But here's the thing that made the least amount of sense the 42.00 was for only my bike insurance. I don't know how they can take my money without my permission and on top of that I'm still insurance with State Farm, you cannot have multiple policies. It's against the law.
I told them to pull the call (all calls are recorded) and they would hear their rep assure me that no payment would be taken out until the 1st and also hear me say, "Nothing is to be taken out until the 1st". Well conveniently they couldn't find the call. And when we asked to speak to a supervisor the guy got rude telling me his supervisor was going to tell us the same thing he is and argued back and forth and was refusing to transfer us, we had to hang up and call back. Finally they said they would refund the 42.00 and it will take 7-10 business days but not our overdraft fee at our bank. I wouldn't have that fee if they wouldn't have unlawfully stole the money out of it. Will be in contact with the BBB first thing tomorrow.
I am worried that on the 1st they will try to take more money that doesn't belong to them. I have now read some reviews where a person has cancelled their policy with them and went with someone else and Geico took out more money and was refusing to give it back. They were then forced to block them and despite the charges. I can almost imagine how awful it would to deal with them if God forbid I was in a accident. I didn't even make it that far with them. All I can say is BEWARE. You may save a little money but you lose honesty, respect and fair business practices. They are crooks.

My advice is stay away. They are the lowest but they raise prices twice a year and they add fees to your payments all the time. I am on my 21st year with Geico and have experienced some really bizarre behavior from them and am thinking about changing companies. I bought a new car a month ago and since they insured it they have changed my monthly payment, six months payment, and annual payment, over and over in the month since I insured the car. In one month the prices quoted have gone up several times. Every time I get a new Declarations Page or talk to another agent or supervisor I hear all new things and all new prices. It's insane.
Apparently they charge you 5.00 every time they send you a statement and 5.00 for everything else they decide to charge you for. They raise your price every six months. They give you misinformation about coverage. They quote you monthly and annual prices but forget to tell you they are charging you $60 a year extra in fees. Their quotes keep going up every week and the excuses they give you for constantly raising the prices they quoted you incorrectly is their complicated computing system. It's double talk. You can never understand it no matter how many people explain it to you.
I havent even paid my first bill yet but it is due now and is $211.03 because they bill you a month in advance. When I insured my new car with them in June, they quoted me monthly payments of $106.60. Today, a month later, they told me it is now $116.85. The annual was quoted as $1,267.20 today it is $1,450.20. The six month was quoted as $633.30, today they said it is $665.10. They dont have a new car replacement policy or a gap policy so if your new car gets totaled, their adjustors arbitrarily figure out the depreciated value with their own special Geico formula and they give you that. They do not pay off your car loan even if it's a week old. You have to come up with the difference between what they give you and the payoff on your loan and you have no car. They never tell you what they are valuing your car at and what they will pay you if it gets totaled. Leaves you feeling very jerked around and cheated by them.

I Had been a GEICO customer for a little over 12 years, in the last 3 years, I have been subject to rate hikes for ridiculous unwarranted reasons. I finally got fed up and cancelled with geico, only to be told that I somehow owed them money. I moved from San Diego, California to a Mount Vernon, Wa, a small city. After moving, I noticed my auto insurance rates went up significantly, so I called to inquire what was going on. The reason for my insurance premiums being increased was apparently because auto theft was higher in a small town in Washington, than San Diego California. I was upset but let it go. The next rate hike came with a used vehicle upgrade, the reason was that the car had new expensive parts that it would cost a lot to fix. A 2014 "2y/o" Chevy Spark with 15k miles was costing me more than my 2003 Ford Excursion diesel, with the exact same coverage, and apparently would cost more to fix. Ok, can't do much, so I had to let it go.
I recently moved to a new house that is 2.5 miles away from my last address, in a brand new neighborhood. My rates increased $400 for my six month premium. I called to inquire what was going on. The scripted response that I received was, "Your car has new parts that cost more to replace." HUH? In my plea as to why and how I explained my short distance and provided that I now had a garage to put my car in. "Didn't matter" is what I was told. I cancelled after getting new insurance and was informed that I now owed them money, because when I moved my rates changed. Never, Ever, Ever again will I recommend or patronize GEICO insurance. Something has changed with them, in the last few years, random hikes, no or ridiculous reasons.

I have had GEICO for 20 years. I thought I had a good insurance company until I needed them. They won't pay fairly for a claim. Now we have to go to court. My daughter and I were hit by a careless driver. We were smashed between two cars. My 22 year old daughter never had any problems with her back. She was diagnosed with a torn lumbar and protruding discs. Not one medical bill relating to her spine (from before crash) has been produced in the 6 years since the crash. I was injured as well but I have some age and some prior preexisting conditions that were greatly exasperated by the crash.
You have to hire an attorney to get this company to pay. They show no consumer loyalty. Please don't trust your well being both financially or physically to this company. You will learn as I have, they want you only if you are paying them. They did not even offer what our first hospital bill was. We are pushing nearly 200k in medical bills. Again not one bill or physician record has been provided for not paying my daughter's claim. Don't be fooled by this company.

July 3rd 2017 I was minding my business when I was clipped by a MTA bus in Brooklyn NY doing 50mph on the highway in my 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee. My car had $6300 of damage to it after it was all said and done. I brought my car to a GEICO recommended body shop (kings nissan body shop) if anyone wants to know. The damage was pretty serious and my car was supposed to be ready on July 12... Well guess what. It wasn't ready until July 14th when I was 1500 miles away on vacation in South Beach Miami.
So Monday the 17th comes, I'm so excited to pick up my car. I pick it up, something seems off in the interior... The body shop GEICO recommended stole my auto dimming review mirror and replaced with a $20 autozone mirror, but that's not all, my check engine light was on with a cylinder 4 misfire code. My car had no engine trouble even after the accident... So I drive it away in anger about my mirror and my cylinder misfiring, I go to buy spark plugs at autozone because the body shop claimed they were going to replace my spark plugs for free if I supply the parts. As I step out of autozone, I smell something sweet, you guessed it... IT WAS ANTI FREEZE!!!! (see pics below). Anti freeze all over the bottom of my engine guard just spewing out! AWESOME RIGHT?! NO. So I drive the car back to the shop, show the manager the problem... His response? "It's just a water pump and thermostat, no problem!"
My car had the radiator smashed in, and engine guard ripped off, you would think you would make sure the water pump and thermostat is working right? No, not this place. So thats one problem... The other problem, the rear view mirror. I am infuriated, seeing red. I demand to speak to the supervising auto adjuster... Mr. Bob **. Well Bob claims that mirror came with my car and I'm delusional. Meanwhile I called every single Jeep Dealer in the whole tristate area, gave them my vin... And guess what, my car comes STANDARD with a auto dimming mirror. SHOCKER!!!. Bob claims he called all the same places and they told him it came with a standard mirror. Mind you this auto dimming mirror only costs $295, theres already $6300 into my car whats another $300?! This guy wouldn't budge.
Fast forward to July 20th... Get a call from the infamous Bob... "Hey Mike, your car is totaled, we missed a crack in the engine block, thats why it's leaking." HOW IN THE NAME OF CHRIST HIMSELF DO YOU MISS A CRACK IN AN ENGINE BLOCK WHEN THE CAR HAD $6300 IN FRONT END DAMAGE??!! Will someone please tell me this crazy anomaly?! Now I just want to punch everyone in the face at this point. Bob promises me he will have the value for my car by Friday afternoon, which was the only thing he kept his word on. Friday night I call the salvage department of Geico... The first guy I talked to, Max, actually knew what he was doing. He told me I can overnight my Title to him and get my payment ASAP if I send them an email with prepaid overnight postage. No problem done and done.
Fast forward to today, Monday. Around 10:30am I call Geico Salvage asking them If they received my title and email with the postage. Title yes, email no. Later I find out after talking to 3 people Mr. Max, gave me the wrong email address... Yep, another mess up by Geico. So by 3:20pm we figure all this out and now Geico has my email with the postage and PROMISES me my payment for my car will be going out today MONDAY JULY 24th. Mind you during all this time I have a deposit down on my new car and the guy has been waiting for me to come get it, but I can't because Geico is moving slower than molasses. 8:45pm roles around on Monday night, the tracking # hasn't updated, my check hasn't moved, call Geico Salvage for the 6th time today, "I'm sorry sir, payment was issued but we didn't get it out in time today." REALLY! REALLY!
After being promised I will have my payment by tomorrow, I now have to wait ANOTHER DAY to be without a car. It has now been officially 3 weeks. Now I am in a catch 22 because Geico unfortunately is the cheapest car insurance in the whole state of NY. I really hope I never have to deal with this again. This has been the most difficult 3 weeks of my life. Your insurance company who you pay to be there when you need them the most is supposed to be on your side. Clearly geico doesn't care about you.

While replacing the old windshield, the guy cracked the new windshield, ding the hood of my FJ and broke my antenna. Have vacation schedule to leave tomorrow using my FJ but Geico can't do anything until Monday. That is 2 days I am out on my vacation time. Had to can cancel everything because they can't replace my windshield. Request them to deal with the dealer to have them replace my windshield so I can start my vacation but I was told I had to pay out of pocket as the dealership don't deal with insurance company. Don't you think you should at least offer to reimburse me if I pay first out of pocket?
This the first time I called for a replacement after 10 years being a customer. 10 years paying them for nothing. The one time I needed them for a simple windshield replacement and they failed me. I have 3 cars insured with them and planning to insure another new SUV in 2 months. Guess time to shop for a new insurance company.

Long story short - Geico will give you a person to talk to every time anytime but never expect them to budge a finger to help you. I will never use their insurance again. This was just a small incident and I thank God it was because I fear I would have been left completely unaided had this been a worse situation. Read below for full story.
On June 10th 2017 I was involved in an accident where I struck a deer on the highway while driving home, I immediately pulled over and called my insurance company "Geico." The person I talked to was great and gave me options to get the vehicle towed and service centers I could bring it to. After assessing the damage I determined the damage to be body only and the vehicle drivable and not only drove it home, I drove it to work the next day and then directly to "Banks Collision Center" in Concord NH where they staffed a Geico claims person on site.
After dropping off the car I picked up a rental from the same place from Enterprise. I chose this car service because my Geico rep had said that they had "Special pricing for Geico insurance holders" and because Geico was assisting in paying for the rental. I went with them. THIS IS IMPORTANT. I would like to add that even though I told Geico I was dropping off the car there and even made a time to drop it off and even though I signed the car in when I dropped it off, the next day I got a call from the onsite Geico rep. Apparently no one told him the car was there and he was still waiting for it. This was just the start of them wasting my time.
They didnt look at / total my vehicle until the 15th, so by now I've already had and been paying for a rental for 3 days. The damage done to my vehicle a 2010 Mazda 3 Touring was almost completely body damage. They found a few other internal damages like a break in the fuse box and a few broken brackets. Yet without any structural damage or mechanical that would prevent the car from driving, they totaled my car and treated as a salvage. I was mad at the seemingly unreasonable loss of my car. It seemed lazy on their end but I chalked it up as an unfortunate event.
They originally appraised my car wrong. They listed it as a base model after I had them correct it. I also noticed they still appraised it as a zero option car. Again I had to tell them it was fully loaded with navigation and premium sound which they adjusted it for. (I find it odd we have to pay the premium for these features on the lot yet Geico gets to try to blatantly overlook them) The final appraisal didnt happen until the 19th now 7 days into my rental.
Now I dont make a ton of money so I kind of needed the loan to be paid off so that I could afford to get another one, and I only got / could afford the rental for 2 weeks that was also the length of time Geico would assist in paying for it. So after 2 weeks I had to return it. Pay the $350 that was required for having it and I was left getting rides. By the 29th I contact my Geico rep because I'd seen absolutely no movement on the loan being paid off. He told me my bank was the problem so I called my bank and they said Geico was the problem. So I contacted Geico again and they were still no help.
July 3rd my Geico rep called me saying he talked to his total loss department and they were working on it. So I called my bank and made sure they knew Geico would contact them soon and if they needed anything from me they could contact me. I replied via voicemail that Geico had sent something to the bank and they were waiting a reply.
July 17th still no movement. I called my bank first this time. They said they hadn't spoken to Geico since the beginning of the month and they had received nothing and knew nothing about what the insurance company was doing or needed. So yet again I sent an email to my Geico rep asking what the hold up was and now I'm on July-22-2017 42 days into this and honestly I have no idea why I stayed loyal and paid these guys so much money for so many years. I'll say one thing about Geico - if you call them there's always someone to talk to but they will do nothing to help. 42 days into this I still don't have a car because I'm waiting for these guys to figure out how to give money to a bank which is funny because they have no issue taking money from one.
I will never have or use Geico as an insurance provider ever again and I will tell everyone I meet to avoid their terrible service. I honestly should have just saved my money. As I said in the very top I fear that had this been a much worse accident the only thing I would have gotten from this company is good wishes from their employees and been left high and dry on the rest... It blows my mind that I've had to put as much involvement into this as I've already had to and yet I feel like I haven't gained any ground in finalizing this.

I will start off by saying that I was late paying my bill and my policy lapse due to the fact that I am a small business owner and my bank account fluctuates dramatically from day to day. I kept in contact with Geico to tell him when there was money in the account and it was not taken out in any immediate fashion. So with that being said my policy lapsed, I was able to get it started and due to my SR22 I needed them to send over information to my state to make sure my driver's license did current. I was very very precise when telling the man they needed to get it sent over ASAP and their representative assured me no problems, that it would be there in plenty of time. Well in fact it was not and for the weekend I was unable to drive.
I called them the next day and to make a long story short after talking to a manager he notified me that because it lapsed for 2 to 3 days that my policy now went up over $500 over the next 6 months and after explaining to him that his customer service representative assured me multiple times that it would be taken care of in plenty of time and it did not, their response was 'I'm sorry", and now after talking two other managers to resolve this problem and even after I apologize for letting my policy lapse they assured me that everything is computer-generated and there was nothing they could do about my premiums going up. I apologize 3 or 4 more times for being late on my bill and they also apologized for their customer service agent telling me a lie.
I'm with that being said my apology was not accepted and did not change but yet I had to accept their apology that will now cost me $500 more and $1,000 a year and then there was nothing they could do to alter that. It was one of the worst customer services I've ever dealt with and the fact that their apology means more than mine is BS. I have been through this road before and I have never been treated so poorly from a company like this. Needless to say I'll be shopping around and canceling my policy with this company. And I suggest that people who read this also do not feed into the lies about how you can save so much money because in the long run they get it out of you and actually they're more of the higher priced insurance companies.

My GEICO policy comes up for renewal every 6 months. Clean driving record and my rates have been going down for the last 3 years. This renewal period for July 2017 my policy increased $23.00 per month. I called GEICO and requested to know why as my driving record is clean and my car car is 7 years old and paid for. They said they have been undercharging the correct policy amounts for GEICO customers and they raised rates accordingly. While my new policy amount at $507.30 for six months is a good price, it is still more than the $483.58 last renewal in January 2017. No letter, no email, no mention these rate increases were taking place. I AM NOT HAPPY!

I have just come to realize after getting quotes from Travellers and State Farm that GEICO has been ripping me off for years with premiums that are double that of other auto insurance providers. I am currently paying $4297 a year for a 2010 Ford Taurus and a 2004 Dodge Ram Pickup. My driving record is excellent with no points and no accidents. I am a 52 year old male. My wife also has an excellent driving record. We have never filed any claims or been in any accidents.
Today I got 2 quotes online from Travellers and State Farm. They are both quoting me half (approximately $2,200 a year) of what I have been paying with GEICO for the last 7 years. Not only that but the coverage that GEICO is giving me is much less than the coverage offered by Travellers and State Farm. I am only getting $15,000/$30,000 in Bodily Injury Liability coverage with GEICO for my $4279 yearly premium. Travellers and State Farm would cover $250,000/$300,000. How does GEICO justify this. Is this legal? Do I have any legal recourse to get some of my money back? I am one pissed off consumer!

After years of using Geico, having a spotless driving record, and never having made a claim, my wife and I received a notice that our rates were increasing because the number of accidents in our state has increased ("texting while driving" was specifically named as the culprit). Geico targets inexperienced drivers with savvy marketing, and we've been planning to switch for a while, but spare time is a luxury when you and your wife are college professors with children. After being patronized by the manager of the call center, we will happily go elsewhere. We were essentially free money for Geico, so their unwillingness to budge on the rate was penny wise, but will prove to be pound foolish.

I get a call today from the medical claims rep (Heather **) stating since it was not that much damage done to my car they will not pay for medical for me. GEICO uses unknown and undisclosed factors to charge exorbitant rates, then refuses to pay out on legitimate claims when an incident occurs. As of last year I was paying $3,800 a year for full coverage on a 2013 BMW 328i with $1,000 collision deductible and the minimum $15k/$30k liability. I have ONE point on my record and haven't had an accident in more than 25 years. Two months later—with NO new incidents or activity of any kind whatsoever—they raised my rate to $6,000 a year. Upon inquiry, their reason was that there was a "rate restructuring" and that I was considered a "risky insured." What the?!?
Fast forward to present time... My car was hit while parked and had a fair amount of damage to the front end. GEICO gave me a quote and I agreed to have the repairs done at their affiliated body shop. Upon completion of the repairs, which were $1,000+ more than the quote, I was informed they were denying the claim because their adjustor decided I must've been driving the car at the time the damage was incurred. My recourse was to spend a bunch of time and money going through an appeals process and/or to hire an attorney. GEICO is worthless and their conduct is egregious. There are plenty of other insurance companies out there and I strongly suggest that insureds seek them out and not fall for GEICO's cute commercials and introductory low rates.
Side note: I am not a habitual reviewer/complainer, this is the first time ever that I've publicly lodged a complaint against a company. My experience with them has just been unbelievably horrendous and I'm writing this in the hopes of saving someone else from making a terrible decision and giving GEICO thousands of dollars of their hard earned money only to find that GEICO's "coverage" is entirely arbitrary and there's little that can be done aside from spending more to fight a claim than the claim is worth. I would give them zero stars if I could.

Shortly after I received an email stating he had been added to my policy and that my new policy was increased by $274 for the remaining time. I immediately called GEICO and was told that because he is my son and he is in the home he has to be added. The first thing I said was "He doesn't live with me. He lives with his mom in Tucson and visits occasionally." Second I was getting a quote and how could they use that information and just add someone. I was upset and asked to speak to a supervisor. I was told one would call me within 2 hours. This never happened.
After about 2.5 hours I called and spoke with another person and was told the same thing. I then told her he doesn't have a driver's license and she said it didn't matter. He has access to the vehicle and could get in an accident. And it was GEICO's responsibility to protect me. I then said, "So even if someone is not legally able to drive and they are 15 or older, they have to be on your insurance?" And she said yes. I told her that was wrong and I would contact the attorney general's office. I also told her that my car could be stolen and that would mean I would need to insure everyone in the world just in case they drove my car. I told her GEICO was committing FRAUD by using a quote system to gather information and then use it to up rates and also to increase rates and add people without the insurer's permission or authorization.

A while back, the year of 2016, specifically the month of April, I had a massive car accident where I was at fault. At the time, I was a 21 year old male with an extremely fast car who was doing something stupid, which I can admit now. The reason why this is important is that this particular event was one of the most traumatic events any relatively decent person (as I've never been in trouble with the law or had even been sent to the principals office back in high school) could possibly go through.
I'll try to make a long story short by eliminating the minor details, however, let's just say Geico said that I was never covered for the accident - which was obviously bad, as it was deemed my fault - and the damages on my car alone exceeded 20,000 dollars and that was *only* body damage, as they deemed it totaled before they ever even looked underneath the exterior components.
The confusion came in when, it turns out, that one of their sales representatives sent me through a random auditing process because I had never had been on a policy by myself, before. However, I *had* been on a Geico policy since I was 15 years old with my learners' permit, provisional operators' permit, as well as my operators' permit. The thing that changes was the person who owned the car - It was me, instead of my father.
But I digress some of the smaller details, we ended up actually having to hire a lawyer and have him contact Geico, essentially demanding coverage for this particular case. So, why 4 stars? Why not 1 star? Why not none? Because the entire situation was caused by a single employee, not the corporation. It was caused by a sales representative, who wrote up her own quote (even though I had gotten a quote a day before) and forgot to uncheck a box that sent me through some random auditing process which caused a massive delay in which my policy was actually active. Therefore, for the first 5 days of my policy, they thought I was not covered because she also neglected to take out payment at the time (even though I asked specifically what day it would be taken out on).
In the end, yes, it was extraordinarily time consuming, however things were made right by Geico. They not only covered the accident and didn't drop me as a customer (which we believed was a possibility after causing literally over 25k worth of damage total), but they paid my lawyer's fees, as well, because they admitted that one of their employees made a mistake.
Yes, this situation could have been handled differently, but really, in the end I can see exactly how something like this could and did happen. I docked them a star, however, because I've asked for roadside assistance twice and the first time the tow truck driver was well over an hour late, didn't bother to call, and then said he would and never did (which was a separate company entirely and they allowed me to lodge a formal complaint against them - I also just canceled the tow).
Then the second time I asked for a tow, I was in a particularly rough part of town and the operator did all she could to find someone in my area who would tow me, but none would accept Geico payment (however they would have reimbursed me whatever I spent), to which I said no, because I found an alternative. Other than those two things, it has been a simple, easy going relationship with Geico and, hopefully, after my car sustaining heavy hail damage 2 days ago, it will continue to be a nice relationship. I suppose this rating will reflect that in the future. :)

Then one day I scratched the bumper of a car and immediately they tried to deny the claim stating I was using my work truck for work and was not insured as a work vehicle, which it was and took three days for them to figure out it was properly insured. It was a small amount to pay to fix scratch so I paid it out of pocket and switched insurance companies. After all those years of paying insurance premiums with no accidents and no tickets the first thing they did was try to deny the claim. Screw that, I can only imagine what would have happen if it was a serious accident.

After reading the reviews we too will be dropped once they realize the extent of personal injury in this case. Besides surgical recovery, I am having to argue with GEICO to see if they are coordinating the at fault's limits to my damages. As soon as this is resolved we plan to change companies. They are the worst of the worst.

On May 8th, a teen driver hit my car and drove off while I was standing next to my car. I took off on foot and obtained photos of the license plate. After pulling in the police and filing for a hit and run, which the girls was found because of the photos I took when I chased down her car, the police obtained a statement from the girl saying she hit my car and drove off. I then contacted Nationwide to have my car fixed. Nationwide contacted GEICO about getting my car fixed. When they called, GEICO’s system was down and they filled out everything on paper.
Fast forward a couple of weeks and no response, I reached out to GEICO. This was the first they had ever heard of my accident. They did say their system was down and that maybe it hadn't been uploaded yet. Now, I am starting the process all over again. Set up a claim, gave my testimony, gave the witness name and number, gave the case number. Called back a few days later and they hadn't received word from the family yet. I was told I had to wait until the 21st to give the family enough time to reply.
Today, on the 21st, I called back out. Now it is going to take 2 weeks because GEICO hasn't filed to obtain the police report. It has already been 6 and a half weeks since the accident. I have photos of the teen’s license plate, an eye witness. I have waited and waited to have my car fixed and yet again, GEICO has dropped the ball. Way to waste my time. You guys are literally the worst. My sister has been in two accident since May 8th and has had her car fixed twice in less than 6 and a half weeks. TWO, which neither were her fault, either! Then again, she didn't have to go through GEICO... #nationwide #waytodroptheball

I am appalled at their customer service staff. I was originally going to go with a competitor for my 2 cars and home insurance however the agent I talked to talked me into going with you because the coverage was a tad better. I spent about 20 min on the phone the first time when the 2nd guy confirmed he would call my mortgage lender as soon as we got off the phone to tell him I have insurance. He never did so I called a day or two later to explain I needed someone to call my mortgage guy to confirm I have insurance to move forward with the buying of my home. I was told from their records I never called to finalize and all they have is a quote! Like my first call didn't happen. So I patiently went through it again where I was told I was all set just needed to be transferred to one more person. Well the person I was transferred to thanked me for calling and asked what they could do for me!
I explained I was beginning to fear the staff there didn't know what they were doing as I was not about to start from step one again. She transferred me to another lady who assured me she would call my mortgage lender directly after the call... BIG SURPRISE she never did. So a few days later my mortgage guy kindly told me you guys dropped the ball again. So this time he called this morning just to be jerked around. Told I never called until he had to work his way up to a manager named Tatiyana who listened to the recorded audio and confirmed I had called and I was finished. The staff should be embarrassed and ashamed at how much they suck! I am off today and am going to make it my goal to post this hellish experience on every forum, social media location and search engine I can get my hands on!

I've been calling them every month to lower my payments to save me money. I get the same answers every time "You have the best rates available". I asked why so much. They answered that they count Florida as a whole state blah blah blah which is a scam. Now I called State Farm cause they kept sending me quotes in my mail. Guess how much I'm paying now for the SAME EXACT policy. 46$. No sign on bonus or whatever. State Farm told me they do NOT do that. I was shocked. I should have called months ago. Like dang man.

I called to renew it and GEICO required a full payment for the entire policy which is quite a lot of money to pay in one lump sum. Unlike all they advertise, they are not cheap and are not great - there are much better insurance companies out there that have affordable premium payment plans and coverage for what you pay for. I'm not longer with Geico, yet they keep sending me bills for insurance I no longer have. They even go so far as to threaten me that they will report me to the credit bureau. I DON'T HAVE INSURANCE WITH GEICO ANYMORE. I broke up with them, but the idiots still think I owe them. Do yourself a favor and take your money elsewhere.

When I called to ask why they did that they said I asked to, I did NOT! My rate went up almost $200, I was furious!!! They then cracked a PTSD joke about my cosigner not having a license at the age of 26 due to ptsd from being active military! The agents are rude as well as the supervisor who cracked the joke! I demanded a corporate number when they claim they didn't have. I told her she wasn't funny she was "laughing at the situation" the situation was A 26 YEAR OLD SOLDIER WITH PTSD and she found it funny! I however cancelled my policy and took my business elsewhere!
I'm also talking to a lawyer about this all as well! My lawyer said unless they had written permission to take my husband off my policy (which they didn't) they shouldn't of changed anything on it. Avoid this company at all costs! Terrible customer service and listening skills! I'll never go back to them. Thank you USAA for giving me a LOWER rate and great customer service versus this company. I would not recommend buying insurance from this company. After purchasing 6 months of insurance, I went online to get a QUOTE for a bundle. This was a huge mistake. Without my consent they added the person I was getting a quote about to my policy with no notification other than a vague email saying to log into my account (which I think everyone gets these and ignores them). It wasn't until I try to cancel my policy, as I spent weeks talking to customer service reps trying to get my policy back to how it was originally, that they tell me I owe money for the 2 weeks they added this other person because they did not have coverage and lived with me. I feel if a company is going to start charging you more than what you originally agreed, they need to verbally get your consent.
I received so many letters and emails from them saying they were going to cancel my policy, yet to charge me more they send one vague email. Spoke to a supervisor who clearly had no interest in helping me or even in trying to keep me as a customer. This is by far the worst service I have ever received from a company.

I have been a Geico customer for well over 10 years. There was a period of about a year that I left this company due to finding cheaper auto insurance, but I returned to Geico in 2016. During the entire time that I was with Geico and the other company I Never had any at fault accidents. Through these years I have filed a total of about 2 glass claims. One claim involving someone else hitting my vehicle.
Well, on June 5, 2017 I had to file an accident claim. In this case I was in a parked, non-moving vehicle and I was attempting to get out of my car when another driver, who was obviously not paying attention, pulled into the parking space and hit my door. I called the police and then my insurance company. The Geico agent that I spoke with immediately placed me at fault in the accident. Seriously??? Nobody had even reviewed the claim. I was still in the process of filing the claim and she had already made the decision. She basically told me if I had looked then he would not have hit my car. Of course I challenged her decision.
I called Geico later that day to give them more details about the accident and they advised me to file a claim with the other driver's insurance company. I did file a claim with the other insurance company on the same day. His insurance company eventually determined that it was shared liability, meaning that my insurance company is responsible for my damages and his insurance company is responsible for his damages. I still don't agree with this decision.
Afterwards I spoke with the Geico insurance agent, I mentioned arbitration and that idea was basically swept under the rug. The other driver really got off good because 1. He stated in the very beginning that he wasn't claiming any damages (he only had minor scratches to his bumper whereas I had to get my entire door replaced) and 2. He was smart enough to back his car up twice, take pictures and send them to his insurance company. I made my insurance company aware of everything and they still did nothing.
You would think that Geico would have done more to help me in this situation, but they didn't. This was a great way to make even more money off of me because I am sure that there will be a premium increase at some point. Needless to say that I would rather pay a higher premium to another insurance company than continue to be a loyal customer to Geico. Yes, I will be moving my auto and homeowners insurance policies asap.

I had been a customer for about 9 years, using their auto insurance. Automatic payment was set up from the beginning and never missed/never late on a single payment. I never had to file a claim or had a ticket. They dropped my rates really low over the years to $77 a month. Last year, my wife and I went through 3 debit cards apiece, due to expiration and then my bank implementing the chip card. Well in all that madness and other issues, I missed a payment. My fault. I admit it. Here's the issue: I was never notified. Not by text, call, email-NOTHING! I get a letter in the mail telling me that my policy has been canceled.
So I call to get it all sorted out. Nope. My rates would now be $140 a month. The Justification was that I am a new customer and didn't get the loyalty rates. After a couple of weeks of calling and talking to numerous people, I have to bite the bullet and get the $140 policy. Fast-forward 7 months to present day. I called Allstate, explained my troubles and just like that, I'm now only paying $68 a month for full coverage on both my vehicles. There's more: Time to renew my Alabama tags. (I'm military and live in Virginia. 1 car registered in VA, the other in AL, an SUV) Well it seems that since I had a gap in coverage, I now have to pay a $200 dollar fine first - in person. They're willing to work with me, but I have to have Alabama insurance for the SUV. So now, after emails and numerous phone calls, I switch my SUV to an Alabama coverage - costing me $55, and losing my multi car discount on both.
Here's another kicker, all this has a trickling effect and is costing me a little more money in other areas. Not a ton, but some. If they would have just given me a notice I could have saved over $700 - that's not including the price increase from losing my multi-car discount. I got a plan to move forward and to eliminate future costs, but it's time consuming and really frustrating. Allstate, for the 2 weeks I've been with them, have went the extra mile for me, made calls, followed up, and have given advice. The auto rates are cheaper, and I even switch from Geico's 3rd party Home Insurance, Homesite, to Allstate's. I'm paying a little more in home insurance, but the coverage is a lot better! And overall, bundling with Allstate vice bundling with Geico, is saving a ton more monthly. Best of luck!

The guy apparently had another accident right after and you can no longer see where he hit my car, and is now saying he does not remember if he hit my car, just that someone told him he had.
At this point, it would just be nice if someone vaguely unbiased could review the evidence, but "My" adjuster, who is supposed to representing me, can't get the other adjuster on the phone or to email her back. Gave me their supervisor's number to call, but won't do it herself. No one answers their phone, emails, etc. All I can think is it's the same company, they lose less money by denying my claim because now I have to pay the deductible. After calling around and shopping for a few minutes I decide on Geico because of their quote, go thru their entire process over the phone with a rep and then make my initial payment and am put under the impression from their emails and rep this will be the agreed upon price for the rest of the 5 months of my contract.
Roughly two weeks before my next payment is due they email me and inform me my prices will be more than doubled because of violations I failed to inform them about. When I call to ask why these weren't found while I was on the phone with a representative they inform me that they have 30-60 days to look into and change the rate as they see fit. I understand that the initial quote is just that a QUOTE, but once you've received my information (Drivers Lic. #, Social #, Vin #, and everything else about me) why would you make me an offer, accept my payment, then change the amount after we've agreed upon a price.
No big deal. I'll find a company that doesn't screw people over like Nationwide who has gotten all my information and has me locked in 25$ lower than the initial price with Geico. But Geico doesn't stop there, they make sure to tack on another 200$ charge to cancel my policy because I'm not staying the full 6 months... The manner with which they handled his claims was worse than poor. So bad that I had to write multiple letters to the VP of Claims for the southwestern region in order to get satisfactory results.
Geico has a system where once you file a claim for damages, they provide you with a list of vendors based on your zip code to choose from for your repair. Once you make your selection and if your repairs will involve a rental, they take care of securing the rental for you. In my case I opted to go with the dealership for my repairs and the car rental company has established an office within the dealership. That way I only had to show up at the dealership and the rest was a breeze. When my car was ready I returned the rental car to the dealership and drove off! GEICO's responsiveness to customer's concerns, total service including legal representation in case of an accident, speed in resolving issues and their obvious concern for client's satisfaction as demonstrated in fast turnaround to complaints or claims makes GEICO one of the best, if not the best, in the insurance market. GEICO's reasonable premiums, although not the lowest, is a good return on the investment in GEICO. I could've gone with other insurance companies who offer lower premiums but the cheapest is not always the best. GEICO is ahead of its competition because of attention to details in every area of concern to the auto insurance clientele.
I was involved in accident, no fault of my own, and GEICO assisted from the very minute I called to advise them. GEICO immediately directed me to a garage and my car was repaired within a reasonable period of time. In the meanwhile, I was given a loan car which was vandalized within a couple of days of receipt and GEICO immediately sent someone to repair the glass. In another incident, my car was also vandalized with a key scratch. Again, GEICO stepped right up and had my car repaired. With all of these unfortunate incidents, GEICO did not raise my premium. I received an email that my policy was being cancelled with no explanation as to why. When I called to find out I was transferred to an underwriter who told me, (in her exact words) "Even though we knew about your tickets from two years ago we have decided that we can no longer cover you." And to top it off they sent me a bill stating that I still owe them a partial premium. I switched to a new company and it has been a night and day difference, even in the customer service. GEICO is a corporate machine only concerned with the bottom line.

On 5/14/2017 I jumped a curve in my car to avoid hitting someone who swerved into my lane. I called Geico and the police. I had to file a claim because although I avoided hitting the car, my undercarriage and tire was destroyed from hitting the curve. As a responsible driver I avoided hitting someone, Geico wants to categorize me as at fault for avoiding the accident which raised my monthly premium $200. I now realize that they are horrible and used this as a way to raise my premium. And since this is on my record, now all the other insurance carriers will give me a high premium as well. I researched these tactics and there are several class action lawsuits describing the same unfair tactic that I experienced. They are horrible and I will be seeking legal advice regarding this matter.

I have this insurance company and they assist any way they can. I find that I can navigate their system very well and the coverage is great.
