I had an accident with a person that had Geico insurance. When I filed my claim they made me say who was all in the vehicle. When the claims person called they wanted to know once again who was all in the vehicle, then processed to ask stupid questions. My car was in a parking spot stopped and the passengers were getting out of the car. This woman asked, "were you on your cell phone? Were you doing drugs at the time? Were you looking back?" Then they sent an email asking for the third time for me to list everyone in the car and they needed a recorded statement. They did not wait on the reply but said, "the police report said it was your fault" and so the claim is cancelled. I believe Geico makes this process hard so you will get frustrated and not want to go forward.

I found out by going to another insurance provider that Geico was charging me over 2000$ a year extra for auto insurance. When I called Geico to end the insurance contract they immediately stop the use of the Geico app on my phone while I was speaking to a rep in the chat room. Then 3 days later took a premium payment and took over two weeks to refund me. The only reason I received it back was because I was calling the company every two days. Horrible company. Will never use them again. They robbed me for over 10 years.

I started with GEICO in 1994. I was very satisfied with the auto rate. I had never had an accident that was my fault nor a ticket. After about 20 years of being with GEICO, I became somewhat disappointed. My rate was continuously going up for no apparent reason. My husband convinced me to go with State Farm that he had for 30 years since he was 16 years old. I changed since he was going to be the one to pay the premium! After 4 years later, I decided to go back to GEICO. My rate was reasonable again.

On February 1, 2018, a bail of hay hit my vehicle at 55 mph off of an oncoming truck. My vehicle suffered damages and well as I had bodily injury. I have a $5000 med pay on my vehicle. I have been trying for months to get my claims processed for going to physical therapy. Each time I am told that it is in process or review. It has taken 2 1/2 months to "try" to get my medical claims processed! My co-pay that I pay is $52 each time I go to the doctor. My medical insurance only pays $17. GEICO has not reimbursed me for the amount that I paid nor my insurance company pays. Each time I submit a claim, there is always something else they claim they need. I send EVERYTHING at one time.

They are the worst company that I have seen in paying claims. My husband had a claim at one time and within 7 days, State Farm paid his claim. I could not honestly recommend GEICO to family or friends not even my enemy if I had one! Still waiting for my checks! My rate has gone back up due to me hitting a chain link fence 3 years ago. I was told my rate would not go down until November and the accident was in July! The fence was not damage but my car was scratched up. It was very dark and raining when the accident occurred. I hope the representatives can sleep at night with a clear conscious that they have helped the customers the best they could and was transparent.

My wife had switched to our auto policy to GEICO end of 2012 from a different company to when we bought a new auto - Subaru Forester. Unfortunately, I had left it to her to arrange for an auto insurance and this was MY GRAVE MISTAKE. I recently was scrutinizing important financial documents and came across the GEICO auto policy and that's when I realized that they were charging us double the premium what another company, Liberty, was charging. I also observed that GEICO was charging an increasing amount of premium every year (the premium should have been dropping since the value of the SUV was depreciating!!) and also the rate that they were charging us was for NY City and for the suburb where we live. I had written to their CEO whose response was very cold.

All this time, I was looking to vent out my frustration, being 68 years old, and decided now it is time I wrote in these columns and Facebook. If left alone, GEICO and its CEO will spare no effort to LOOT their customers who are not alert. The slogan, "15 minutes could save you 15% or more" is false and misleading. Instead the most appropriate slogan should be "15 minutes could turn you into a sucker, we guarantee you". NEVER TRUST GEICO. They are home-invaders of unguarded homes!! Go spread the word about the looters, GEICO!!

I have had an auto policy with GEICO for 20 days (was a previous customer before) and initially things were well. Today's date: 4/20/2018. Policy Start date 4/01/2018. Original purchase date 03/18/2018. 6-mo premium quoted when policy was created: $973.30 as of 3/18/2018. Me: 40yrs, homeowner of "House A" in "City A", 2 vehicles and engaged now. "House A" is also insured with GEICO with Liberty Mutual as the underwriter. I obtained my policy through GEICO's Military center as I am a veteran of the US Army. I live about 15 mins (backroads and stop signs) from my job...it is a 5 mile (one-way) commute. I am engaged and added my fiancee to my policy as an authorized driver to use one of my vehicles.

Fiancee: 36yrs, homeowner of "House B" in "City B", 2 vehicles of her own - also a GEICO customer with her own GEICO policy. She lives in Lawrenceville (City B) and works down in Tucker, GA which is about 20 miles one way. House A (Cumming, GA) is 45 mins away from House B (Lawrenceville, GA). The issue occurred on 3/21/2018 when I called GEICO to get some quotes for us both so we can plan which of our vehicles (we have 2 each) would be shared and how much that would cost and if we lived in House A what the price estimates would be for *my* vehicles with her added vs if we lived in House B for *my* vehicles.

The representative seemed very helpful and explained that we should be added to each other's separate policy to be able to get these quotes. Makes perfect sense as we will eventually be married. After adding us he then began to ask the usual questions about mileage, primary drivers, etc. At the end of the call he gave us a quote that almost turned my hair white. "House B" is in Gwinnett County, GA and has a higher rate than "House A" which is in Cumming, GA. He explained that it all depends on where we lay our head at the end of the day. This was to give us some financial planning options to consider as we each had our own lives and our own insurance for our own two vehicles prior to dating.

Later that night I receive an email with Subject "Your updated GEICO Auto paperwork is available"...now *my* vehicles were changed to have me reside at "House B" with her instead of my house "House A" in my own city. And of course you know the billing was immediately updated and a new premium was generated from that. 6-mo premium quoted as of the policy now: $1051.10 as of 3/21/2018.

I called and asked why my policy had changed and was told that now my vehicles were listed at my fiancee's house "House B" even though I live in "House A". No explanation of "I changed your policy live to give you a quote and BTW you are stuck with the changes". I asked for everything to be reverted back to the original quote that was given to me and was told that I would have to go through the same series of questions to put everything back, but since I had the DOD Defensive Drivers Course from GTMO that I could apply that for the Defensive Drivers discount AND that my mileage was lower than I self-quoted when I originally got setup - it would essentially bring everything back down. 6-mo premium quoted as of the policy now: $1086.20 as of 3/21/2018 (second Declarations received that same day).

On 3/23/2018 I called back to GEICO after seeing this declarations page along with another email with subject "Your updated GEICO Auto paperwork is available". I explained that I wanted everything back to the way it was from the original policy on 3/18/2018 and that I only called to get quotes for planning. I explained that nothing has even been set yet and if we reside in "House A" or "House B" then we could update it later and we could even go with a new option of buying a new House "House C".

Customer Service rep explained that it matters "where we lay our head" to determine where the vehicles were to be calculated. I understood and stated that my fiancee has her own two vehicles in "House B" and that I just wanted *my* vehicles that reside in "House A" to be back where they are actually staying. I was told that it would be corrected. 6-mo premium quoted as of the policy now: $1140.20 as of 3/23/2018.

Outraged and feeling betrayed by a company that I bought a policy through that hasn't even started yet...I called back to speak with someone different. I was told that even if I lived in my house "House A" and that both vehicles were parked in my garage - if I spent the night with her in her house "House B" for more than I stayed in "House A" then they would have to assume I live in "House B" despite me having an active homeowners policy with them for "House A" and having both of *my* vehicles at "House A".

I again explained that all I wanted was a quote and was told that the system isn't capable of doing that for the CSRs unless they change things up and commit them to see what the new policy was. The CSR contacted her supervisor and explained everything at which point the supervisor saw the notes and agreed that if I have "House A", live at "House A" and my vehicles are at "House A" then "House A" is where my policy needs to be based off of. New declarations page has both of *my* vehicles at "House A". 6-mo premium quoted as of the policy now: $837.00 as of 3/23/2018 (second Declarations received that same day).

I was happy on 3/23/2018 and felt finally comfortable with GEICO despite the "system" shenanigans - the CSRs are only doing what they can with a rigged system. On 03/30/2018 I received an email with the subject "Your GEICO auto policy billing information" which broke down the payments per month. Confirmed and was happy. On 04/01/2018 the policy went into effect. Still happy. On 04/20/2018 I received an email with subject "Your GEICO auto policy billing information" which now showed my premiums all increasing by $45+ a month.

On 04/20/2018 I once again called GEICO and the CSR explained that the vehicles were showing two different locations. I verified this on the new Declarations Page where it showed one of my vehicles now at "House B" despite me looking right at it in my garage at "House A" while on the phone and even opening the door to it so the Hyundai chime can play.

The notes in the Declaration Page: "The Multi-Vehicle Discount no longer applies on your 2014 HYUNDAI SANTA FE since you are only insuring one private passenger vehicle at a single location. The Multi-Vehicle Discount no longer applies on your 2000 TOYOTA 4RUNNERLTD since you are only insuring one private passenger vehicle at a single location. We have adjusted your rates on your 2014 HYUNDAI SANTA FE to reflect your new location, LAWRENCEVILLE GEORGIA 30043-0000."

I again went through the same series of questions as to how many miles I drive to work, how many miles my fiancee drives to work and where the vehicles stay. I again explained that both vehicles are in Cumming, GA and that I just want them back to their original location in "House A". The CSR understood and felt badly for me...she was exceptional just like the other CSR who "fixed" this mess... The problem is that GEICO is using a system where the CSRs cannot give side by side quotes without affecting current policies. As a company this is a very dangerous and unethical practice of making dynamic changes and then using analytics to play with people's money.

I explained to the CSR that again it has only been 20 days since I have had the policy and we are now talking about a 6th change to get things back to how they were on 03/18/2018... She gave me the update quote which is about $0.80 higher. Me trying to understand why the consumer must keep "paying into a BS system that is rigged" I asked why am I almost paying a $1 more each month now and was told that the system generated the premium quote since it was changed today.

The moral of all of this...*YOU* are nothing but a source of money for a company within an industry that is rigged. Regardless of the CSR's good intentions to make things right, it is algorithms and "trending" based off of the people's bad habits that you as the consumer are fighting against. I believe in fairness and doing the right thing...but GEICO has a system that is counter-consumer if they update and give their CSRs the ability to at least generate "what-if" quotes based on scenarios that could go either way.

I want my original quoted premium that I was given online before I even bought the policy - the "closest match is the rate that I got for $837.00 from the declarations page issued on 03/23/2018. I don't care if it is penny higher...that is my penny that I have earned and could used to either save or pay my bills with. It is NOT for your "SYSTEM" to sit on and then turn around and ask for me. Please SUPPORT your employees and FOLLOW THROUGH and finally DO THE RIGHT THING! I have all of the emails, screenshots and PDFs of the Declarations pages as of 04/20/2018.

Absolutely horrible company. GEICO has absolutely no interest whatsoever in advocating for their customers or looking out for their protection. Another driver of a large Jeep SUV who was distracted on his cell phone, double-parked in front of a bus stop, and flirting with a girl standing on the corner, reversed his SUV on a ONE-WAY STREET and backed into my bf's car (while stopped at in traffic) despite my bf's honking for 7 seconds (bf could not back up due to lane of traffic behind him, caused by this other driver). Of course, GEICO determined that my bf was at fault and assigned 80% blame to him instead of the driver that hit him, stating they could not prove what happened but still blamed him anyway. GEICO agent "Dion" had the nerve to asking my bf why his car was stopped there.

How do you get hit by another driver who is double-parked at a bus stop, on his cell phone, and flirting with some girl on the corner while you are stopped in traffic and GEICO still blames you?? I will NEVER buy car insurance from this company. GEICO has ripped off me, my family and my bf for years. They are not looking out for their customers' best interests. They are just out to make money by ripping them off. In a separate incident, we were stopped in traffic on a two-way street, hit head on by another driver in a minivan who hit us, fled the scene, had the cops hunting her down, the cops even wrote on the accident report that she fled the scene, and GEICO still has not held her responsible or completed this claim. This company is disgusting. Do yourself a favor. Do not go with this company that is just waiting to take your money and pay other drivers when THEY are at fault for hitting YOU.

GEICO changes their monthly billing on a whim. Even when you have a contract and a billing agreement, they will just suddenly decide they need more money. When I purchased the policy it was for everyone living in my house including 3 daughters and a future son-in-law. I owned 1 car, 2 of daughters owned a car and my daughter's boyfriend who lives with us owned a car. We told them all of that information when the policy was purchased. 13 months later they decide I don't have an insurable interest in cars that I don't own, and they decided to drastically raise the charge for my daughter’s car who is in college in Orange County. They want my MONTHLY payment to be over $1100.00. My oldest and her fiance switch to AAA insurance, I work out a payment plan to get things manageable.

My policy renews with a monthly rate of $311. I can handle that for 2 cars and 3 drivers. Then FOR NO REASON, they decide my monthly payment will be $628.36. I call them to find out what the heck, and they say it's because my youngest daughter is now a licensed driver. Well ok, but she's been a licensed driver since May 2017. Why are you doubling my rates now? Because they can. That's why. I truly regret doing business with this company and strongly recommend just about anyone else. I was unhappy with Esurance, but in hindsight I was better off back then.

I needed a multi-state auto policy so I contacted GEICO. Everything was fine until the Texas insurance agent kept trying to close the deal before I spoke to the Maryland insurance agent for the multi-state policy. The Texas agent assured me that the price and coverages for Texas and Maryland were exactly what I asked for, so I closed the deal with the Texas agent and submitted a payment via my bank account. After closing the deal with the Texas agent he transferred me over to the Maryland agent who then confirmed that the Maryland policy was not what I was expecting. This was an overall deal breaker for me so I requested to stop the transaction with Maryland and requested to speak with the Texas agent so that I could cancel the policy.

When transferred back to the Texas agent, I was able to cancel the policy. However, the payment was not cancelled and I had to wait for a refund. This whole thing started 3/21/2018 and after 2 weeks I never received a refund so I contacted my bank and disputed the transaction. My bank was quick to respond and the transaction was returned by the bank on 4/6/2018. On 4/17/2018 I received an email from GEICO saying that I owed them money and if not paid then it would be reported on my credit report. When I called GEICO they said the refund was sent to me on 4/2/2018 just before my bank returned the transaction on 4/6/2018. So what occurred, when the bank returned the transaction it was as if GEICO was never paid. Therefore, GEICO refunded me $84.61 which never went through.

The issue I have with GEICO, is that it took them way too long to refund my money to begin with. I cancelled the policy the same day so the refund should have been initiated the same day. GEICO apparently doesn't follow this business practice. They hold your money and process refunds days if not weeks later. GEICO probably does hundreds of transactions like this every week. It just seems like a terrible business practice in which GEICO borrows the consumers money and returns it at their leisure. To top it off GEICO is very quick to threaten to report unpaid balances to the credit agencies. This is according to my transaction history of 3/21/2018 (cancelled policy), 4/2/2018 (refund from GEICO), 4/6/2018 (Bank Dispute), and then 4/17/2018 (email threatening to report). I would never do business with this company again. Not worth the trouble and the headaches. Sincerely, Concerned Consumer.

It caused no damage to her bumper because she hit me from the side. I later found out they couldn't get her statement, so they claimed I was at fault. It's their job to track her down and get her statement when I provide the details! Furthermore, why would she speak with them when no damage to her car occurred -- and my insurance said I was at fault. I had to explain that she couldn't total a vehicle if she had been doing the speed limit. I had just paid the vehicle off 2 years early and that was that.

A year later and kids threw a brick through my new car's windshield as I was driving. Called in to find out they never updated my new vehicle on the policy -- even though I can't drive off the lot without it. Geico kept the totaled vehicle on my policy & refused to pay for the windshield. Over a year of paying full coverage on a totaled vehicle. Wouldn't reimburse me and now I have claims against me so insurance is ridiculously high everywhere I look. There is a special place in hell for people like this! Six and a half years I paid them and never filed a claim -- then they do everything in their power to weasel their way out of commitments! My husband had an accident on 3/27/18 and the resulting claim process has been terrible! Sadly, I had the misfortune to have just changed to Geico and our policy went into effect 12 days prior to the accident. As a result, I was told there had to be proof of the accident, a towing bill (which would NOT be covered, even though we had road service coverage) or an accident report, which would take over a week for the officer to complete and file since there were 4 cars involved and drivers from out of state.

One would think the damaged car and a incident report while the officer completed his investigation would suffice... But NO. HOWEVER, a adjuster was sent out the NEXT day to examine the car. He totaled it, which meant we did not get ANY coverage or reimbursement for our rental. It's been almost a month of having to pay out of pocket for a rental and Geico STILL has not even paid the claim for the car. HORRIBLE way to treat a customer, especially since we had been Geico customers for both home and auto for many years prior to switching to Farmers for a few years. Perhaps, the delay is deliberate since lapse of time makes it harder to do a fair assessment of any damage and hence, lack of prompt resolution of the homeowner's concerns. Contacted Geico: Agent issued a new SR-22 to date my Policy came into effect to show continuous coverage with no gaps. Called back Geico to check to see if I was all set I was.

April 10th, go to register a new trailer I just purchased. Registration will be $36.00. Town Clerk stopped the transaction. Noticed I was flagged by Concord DMV. She provided a number to call at the DMV. Called, discovered Geico never issued the SR-22. I go, "Please look again." They did. Came up empty handed and told I owe $125.00 in retribution to the state to reinstate my license. Called Geico alerting them of this. Instructed them to quickly fax over an SR-22. Called back DMV. SR-22 not received yet, new town clerk informed me I no longer need an SR-22. Paid the $125.00 retribution fee.

Called back Geico within the 30-60 of the initial request for a new SR-22 be issued and sent to the DMV. Agent goes, "I will cancel it. "You will still be charged $25.00." I go, "No, you guys in fact owe me $125.00 in reimbursement for your failure, or to discount my next policy." Agent was terrible. Stated I had no proof of ever requesting an SR-22 back in September 2017 (policy came into effect October 2017, still was covered under Liberty Mutual). Called international Geico. Still terrible customer service, but did cancel the SR-22 so least I was covered for something I will be charged for that I don't even need.

2.5 Hours later I can now register my trailer for $36.00. State charged me $125.00 for Geico never producing an SR-22 in October and November. I been driving for 4-5 months of the 6 month policy (I paid upfront) with a suspended license. Thanks GEICO. Charged $25.00 for new SR-22 which I canceled and don't need. The same SR-22 that was it back there in October 2017 I would be having no issue!!! Beyond worthless service. Did not honor their word nor policy. Had me in a state of danger the whole time. PS. Other than DWI in 2015, which I lost my license for 3 months, I have no tickets, accidents, violations or otherwise on my record. So don't even try to claim I am an unsafe driver!

Geico homeowner's insurance is worthless. I’ve been out of my apartment for 5 months and counting and my insurance adjuster has accepted one phone call from me. It’s 99% impossible to get a human on the phone and when you do, they transfer you to a voice mail that no one has ever responded to. I’ve faxed and emailed documents to them and they just refuse to acknowledge or reimburse. I’ve had car insurance through this company for 20 years and never had to file a claim.

The apartment fire that occurred was through no fault of my own, but a neighbor who caused many units to be unlivable. I’ve never been so disappointed and frightened in my whole life as now. You shouldn’t have to feel this way with renters insurance. It should be unlawful to put people through things like this in their most vulnerable times. I beg any of you. Do not do business with these people on any level. If I ever get imbursed from this claim, I will cancel every jot of service from this company and make it my life’s mission as long as there is breath in my body to steer as many people as I can away from dealing with this sham of a company.

I am not a verified customer because my mother is the subscriber, I'm just on the policy with her. So I'm 23 and my mother is a subscriber for GEICO and has been for 7+ years. After I got my license she put me on the policy. Moving towards the point, I got into a car accident in July 2017 that I was found 25% liable for. This was my first, and I was alone (both parents out of state) during the incident and new to the experience. The police decided to tow my car because I didn't what else to do.

When I got home I called an agent from GEICO for guidance on the situation. That conversation resulted in the agent telling me I had the "right of way" and I could leave my car in the tow yard for up to 2 months and no longer. She gave me specific instructions on how to receive the receipt so I may get reimbursed. Writing my policy number, bank info, and other personal information on the receipt... Take a picture of it... And uploading in on their website. So, I took advantage of the time to get deal with the claim, remove the speeding ticket I was wrongfully given (I got a lawyer and it worked out), and instructing my out of state mother to send a notarized letter instructing the police to release the car to me because it was in my mother's name and not mine. I couldn't get my car out of the tow yard without that stupid letter, so it sat there longer (I found this out on week 2).

It was there for 3 weeks and when I went to pick it up with the notarized letter, the oh so charming associate said I owed $1200+. Something told me to check-in with GEICO to go over the steps again to make sure I'd be properly reimbursed. I spoke to a different agent and he clearly stated that GEICO would only reimburse the tow fee and maybe they'd pay for one day of storage in the tow yard. I was on the phone with these people for DAYS trying to figure out how someone could spoon feed me false information and I'd be stuck with the bill. Not only that, I had to pay out of pocket to tow my car off their yard AND pay out of pocket for the repair fees. Bumper replacement, structure repair, and the rod that connects my front steering. Conclusion: 25% Liable, stuck with the bill, no collision insurance, first and only accident.

Now I got a call today in April 2018 from my mother stressed and worried because a GEICO agent was telling her to force me off the policy. English is her second language and she was very confused. I called the agent and they explained. My mother and I do not live in the same state so I need to insure my car in my own name. I wasn't going to argue until she stated that I would be off the policy May 6th. It's April 9th.

I asked for an extension because of how sudden this was. She answered stating her supervisor took a moment to consider and said no because "I have a month". I'm in the middle of getting the newer car than a 03 corolla because of its expensive repairs and lack of safety measures. After she connected to the supervisor she says that another Higher-Up took 40 seconds (I'm not kidding) to consider my extension and declined it. She would not let me speak to the person making the decision and not only that. Then she had the nerve to offer to send me to sales to get a quote, and I hung up.

I make 11k a year, I go to school, I don't have any speeding/traffic tickets and I drive on the highway every day to work... And now looking for a new motor insurance agency with Real customer service agents. If you are new to insurance... Don't go with GEICO... The last thing anyone needs is poor guidance and to be scammed especially if you make under 20k a year. This whole experience is just pathetic.

Geico claim adjuster concluded that the rack was static at the time of impact and my insurance doesn’t cover it. Geico adjuster concluded his facts based on “USUALLY” statement. I do not understand how someone can use USUALLY statement to conclude anything. Stay away from GEICO. Might be cost effective but it’s a big headache dealing with biased minded company when their support is needed most.

I have been a customer of Geico for ten years. I called them to get a quote to add my teenage daughter to my insurance, and as it was out of my budget, I said I would not go through with that. As per their advice, I called to let them know that as she had gotten her driver's license, she would not be driving my car because I could not afford the premium - she could drive while she had the permit prior to getting her driver's license with no additional charge to my account. Anyway, they charged me, and I called to explain she had never driven my car after she got her driver's license.

The main manager was supposed to called me, but he never did. I disputed the charge with my credit card, and a month later received a letter from Geico saying they had withdrawn the charge. For my surprise, while checking my account online, I found out they will repeat the same charge this month. It is disappointing that after being a loyal customer for ten years, something like this happens. Now, it will take time and energy for me to call them again, and try to explain the same thing.

Scammers, stay away!!! I've been insured with Geico for 3 years now, what I can tell you for sure is they are good at charging you on time every month and that is it, their main goal is to charge you. Never payback. I have two cars, both insured with Geico. Porsche Cayenne and Nissan GTR, both expensive cars so my monthly payment was about 500-600/month, sounds like a lot but that's why you get insurance, to feel safe right?? That's what I thought too, but not with Geico, my Cayenne got flooded during the last hurricane Harvey in Houston, Texas and they took it almost 9 months ago to the shop and since then they've been wasting time, I had 6 different adjusters who were asking me the same questions over and over again.

I was patient with them but after all this time I went to the shop where they supposed to work on my car and I found it all the way in the back under the inch of dust... 50000 car is being wasted on the open parking lot for almost 9 month and the mechanic at the shop said it happens all the time with Geico, they always do stuff like that, what a waste. Waiting on the final response from Geico now. I will update this whenever it's all over, I did not know that such a big company with well-known name is just a scam.

I left USAA because of the company siding against Trump supporters and went to GEICO with my renters insurance and car insurance. I rarely leave my town for anything so I had basic coverage on my car although it is a 2017. I increased my insurance to full coverage on 4/3/2017 because I was going to pick up a family member in Wisconsin on 4/19/2017 and I live in North Carolina. The weather in WI is terrible at this time of year so I thought better safe than sorry. On the 20th going over train tracks in WI the rear of my car slid to the right as I crossed train tracks and the right back passenger door hit a steel concrete barrier pole I overcorrected and had a 6 in scrape on my front left bumper. The damage looks very nominal so I thought wow thank god I bought the insurance.

I filled out a claim on the 27th. I believe it was the following Monday when I knew GEICO would be open. About a week later I met with an adjuster and everything was great. The estimate was about $2900 and she printed me a check. Again wow I thought that was high for the small amount of damage but because the adjuster wanted to be on the safe side they were just going to replace the door. I deposited the check and waiting to clear to make appointment to be fixed and I get a call today 4/6/2017 saying payment on the check was stopped and an investigation was taking place since I switched over before my trip and now I have a claim.

They said it was very suspicious and now I am on hold and when I called back to ask when I would know what was going on no one will tell me anything and I have to wait for the investigator to call me! Years ago I had a claim with USAA and it was the fastest easiest thing. They had a car waiting for me before I even left the scene of the fender bender. Once my GEICO policy is up I am going back to USAA!!! I am retired military and on the base where I live we have a GEICO banner saying, "No problems we have been serving the military for some length of time." Depending on the outcome of my claim that huge banner will no longer be on this base. The base commander is a huge supporter for companies that support the military but a bulldog against the ones who cross or military!

I find it difficult to accept that GEICO would send a claim adjuster to assess damages if the insured did not have coverage! We have reached out to GEICO multiple times to request. They either put in writing their denial of the claim or act in good faith to cover the damages of my business. There’s been no return call to voice messages left for GEICO or a reply to emails that have been sent to GEICO. Since the time the claim adjuster came out to date; this issue has gone unresolved for over 2-months. Hello everyone, I am 21 years old with a perfect (now ruined) driving record. I've never been in an accident before the one I'm about to tell you all. I've never had a ticket either. On March 20th, I bought beautiful Infiniti G37 Coupe. The very next day, I was literally a minute and half away from my house. I was in the right lane and there were cars in the left lane. Some wanted to turn left, some wanted to go straight. The first car swung out quite swiftly, so I slowed down. I was lined up next to the car that caused the accident. This lady DID NOT look. She swung out into my lane with such force and speed. I hit the right side of my car into a light pole. Mind you I haven't had this car for 48 hours!!!

I had two witnesses, a police report which has the witnesses statements, AND the lady was cited for RECKLESS DRIVING! I was devastated. My passenger was injured, his forehead was bloody. Called Geico at the hospital, and they gave me my claim number and the lady's claim number. Now, since this was my first accident ever, I was under the impression that I would at least have an adjuster come out to take a look at my car. Today makes TWO WEEKS since the accident and I've only heard from my adjuster TWICE!!! But for that lady who caused the accident, her adjuster keeps sending me letters and calling me to tell me that she's not taking blame! Why should I have to take 90% blame for an accident I didn't cause?

If I'm liable for this accident, then what's the point of police reports, witnesses, and citations??? I have never experienced the runaround like this. Geico tops the cake for the crappiest car insurance ever. My adjuster won't fight for me so I got an attorney to take care of it. After this is all sorted out, I am washing my hands clean of Geico. I went a whole year without my own transportation and I saved up so much money to buy that car. So, to get in an accident (on the second day of me owning the car) where the other person was negligent, is devastating. I thought Geico would at least care, or fake like they care. But, really they don't, and I still have to pay the insurance that's due for a car I only had a day and a half. I'm done with Geico.

We drive old cars, we commute relatively short distances each day, and we've adjusted our coverage to keep our rates low. The explanations typically given - rate increases are the result of more uninsured motorists getting in accidents - are not persuasive, in my opinion. A slight increase in accidents seems to provide the ideal opportunity to charge higher rates and increase profit margins. On the bright side, their customer service is good. I get the impression their representatives are well aware of the fact the customers are getting screwed, so they are sympathetic to our complaints.

This is the worst company to have insurance through if your vehicle is financed (if you owe someone money on it), 99% of our company's interactions with Geico they don't pay off the owed amount of the vehicle. They have their own set of adjustments that devalue a vehicle even further than the normal NADA guide or KellyBlue Book or even Black Black.

These adjustments that they make have nothing to do with real world auto pricing or purchasing and make it so the insured still owes on a vehicle that's been totaled when that was the whole point of having the full coverage insurance. Say the car books out for $3500, and you bought it for that, wrecked it and at the time owed $2000, you are normally in our experience looking at them covering $1000 at most, and they even go so far as to find similar vehicles and use their system to show what value they think the car should have. Hey guess these vehicles are selling for more than your worthless prices at the dealer auctions. So in closing if you would like an insurance company that won't pay off your vehicle if you are in an accident here's your company.

Very dissatisfied with Geico, I recently was in an accident with an Geico insurer and she knocked off my bumper and it was dented up and my light was scratched up and had a little dent and scratches on my hood. Went to get my car estimated by an Geico adjuster and she literally sat there and tried to tell me she didn’t think some of that stuff happened from the accident, and she also mentioned that my grill of my car should have cracked and my light should have cracked also. For one you don’t know what will happen in an accident, so you can’t sit there and say anything if you was not there. Two she told me that they will only fix certain parts of my car and will not cover the rest unless I have witnesses of what happened or a video from the parking lot. I had two witnesses in the car with me and they seen everything, Geico did not want to hear anything from them. Which was totally wrong.

These people are the worst, if I ever have to deal with anything else like this, I will just sue because these people will harass you like you're lying and will not pay for everything. Then they will have their fraud team call and harass you, very disrespectful. They think you're going to sit there and lie about an accident, who does that. Just pay for what your insurer did to people's cars.

They also told me that if a car seat was occupied at the time of the accident and it was not cracked then it does not need to be replaced. I had to call the local police department for them to tell me that if your car is in a major or minor accident it still needs to be replaced. The police department also had me call all the car seats' manufacturers and ask about the car seats being in an accident, and they all said the same thing that the car seat needs to be replaced by the insurance company. Geico is not trying to pay for my car seat, even when I went through all of that. Worst company to deal with and their customer service really sucks.

We have been with Geico for 3 years, we always paid our insurance premium in full 6 months advance payment. My wife and I never had an accident or any claim during this time or in the last 5 years. We always thought Geico gave us the best rate and we could not get it any cheaper elsewhere. This time we decided to check before renewing the policy and were extremely shocked and hugely disappointed to find out that for the exact same coverage Geico was asking us to pay $1,265 vs at Progressive we obtained the same policy for $769. I could have understood difference within $100, although a difference of $586 is totally unacceptable. Now we are wondering how many times we were overpaying with Geico since we did not shop around?

I called them to make a better offer and they said this joke offer is pretty good. I told them to cancel it and so we did. Next day I visited an insurance office and what I get was premium perfect coverage to the same amount Geico charged me for 6 Months. I felt so sorry for Geico. They could only ROB me for 6 months. Apparently even though I'm now driving less than 1/2 of what I was they determined I will be driving on less familiar roads so that's the reason for the increase. I escalated the call to the manager who told me the same. My last GEICO bill went up $100 and I haven't had any claims and now on top of that they're going to increase it $40 more because I'm driving less! That additional $40 just wiped out that warm and fuzzy customer service GEICO tried to give me. I immediately went online and got a new quote from Progressive and saved myself $200 more!

I work for the lien holder on a customer's vehicle financing. I was on a call today with Geico claims rep Tammy and a mutual customer. Geico is this mutual customer's insurance provider. Tammy was rude and interruptive during the conversation. I speak with insurance agents and claims representatives on a daily basis and have never experienced a conversation even half as rude as this one. The mutual customer was having an issue with a repair check that was issued. At the beginning of the call, Tammy stated that she was on the line to make it clear that Geico was at no fault and not impacting the customer in any way. This was before we even discussed the situation at hand. Every time I tried to ask questions to obtain information and try to understand better to be able to help, Tammy would cut me off to once again point on why she felt Geico was not at fault for any customer impact in any way at all.

And this was while I was trying to gather the facts! As I tried to provide information on how things are handled on our end Tammy told me I was wrong, incorrect, and clearly not willing to help the customer as well as told me I don't know how to do my job. Please keep in mind that I knew nothing of this situation until about 1 min before I took this phone call. I cannot provide too many specifics to protect the privacy of my customer and their information, but I can tell you that this customer service experience from Tammy in the Geico claims dept was so horrible it will make me think twice before I ever recommend Geico as a vehicle insurance company to another customer.

I used to think very highly of Geico and the service they provided and recommend Geico to customers every day as an option for insurance, but this one experience may have changed that especially if this is how Geico claims representatives are trained to talk to their lien holders. Poor customer service, being rude, interrupting constantly, and making derogatory comments is not acceptable. No consumer should have to be subjected to that.

I was rear ended by one of their policyholders in January of 2015 who admitted that she was on her phone (because people were wishing her a happy birthday) and just rammed into me while I was stopped in traffic at a red light. I subsequently suffered a concussion and had to miss work for several days. I contacted them to file the claim and went to the emergency room. It was there that I was told to stay home in bed, in the dark due to a concussion. Thankfully I always leave a car length in front of me when stopping so that I do not rear end someone else, or the damage to my Mercedes would have been worse.

After filling out all of the paperwork that was sent to me and taking my car into THEIR adjuster who was not any good they decided that I didn't have a concussion and they would not pay for anything but the damage to the vehicle. I finished sending in everything (which was A LOT) they requested to prove that I was A) injured and B) missed work. I was told that they only wanted to pay for my vehicle damage. I disputed that and included all medical bills with their forms. So fast forward to 3/8/2018. I have been through 3 different jobs, sold my car because it was more damaged than they would admit to and have moved and recently changed my phone number.

The last and most interactions I had with them was via email. They did not mail anything to me, email me, call me or attempt to contact me since my last phone call TO THEM! I decide to call today to see why I have not been paid a dime. Now they tell me that the statute of limitations has run out. I ask for the supervisor and he would only concur with the same. We owned the car outright so this "clear title" he said that would have been asked for, which was never requested, would have been no problem.

I jumped through hoops during working hours to fill out their stupid piles of paperwork (hello, I was the one injured) with full admittance by the lady that did it!! So now since they decided that they didn't want to pay me, never made contact with me except to fill out forms and jump through THEIR HOOPS that it's just me that gets screwed! They are supposed to pay me. I am not supposed to have to beg an insurance company to pay me money owed to me. I have never seen such horrible treatment of someone that did not purchase their product.

So now they just get to hide behind "statute of limitations" because I am, I guess supposed to beg for money that is owed to me. My credit gets screwed for emergency room visits and Dr. visits because they won't pay and I lose money on the trade in of my car due to their insureds irresponsible driving. I have had it! I want them closed down! I wouldn't do business with these people if they were the ONLY insurance company on the planet!! Don't waste your time with them. I will bet that woman's premiums went up but they certainly didn't pay it to me. IT IS BS!!!

On top of that my adjuster, Adela, who was incredibly rude, unprofessional and had zero compassion for my situation and didn't seem like she really wanted to help me. She said that the Segregation Department reached a decision and they couldn't pursue him being that there wasn't "enough evidence." I took actions into my own hands and I am suing him on my own. On top of that I couldn't even drive for Uber/Lyft because of the damage on my car. And Uber/Lyft was my last resort for employment. I can't even work for them due to my car damage. About 6 years ago I was involved in a hit and run that totaled my car, and was so traumatized and devastated I was actually diagnosed with mild PSD. The Geico agent I signed my title over to lost the title, and I was getting calls and letters from Geico saying they were going to start charging storage fees if I didn't sign power of attorney over... all while being treated for PSD mind you, making this extremely emotionally difficult on my end. When I asked why they didn't take it up with their agent, they told me they were having trouble getting a hold of him.

Shame on me, didn't learn my lesson after that stressful experience and stayed on with them despite ever-increasing charges each policy with my car getting older and my driving record staying clean. Today I learned the payment last month didn't go through, and although I'm not sure why that happened and I never missed a payment in 10 years of being with them, they cancelled my policy with no notification, of they're legally obligated to give. It's fine though because I now insure both my vehicles with the same coverage with a different company for the price of what they were wanting to charge me to restart my policy for one car. I'm happy to move on from them and will tell anyone who will listen about how poor their customer service is and how they treat you like a sale and not like a person. I am the victim of many things, but sadly miscarriage of justice on so many levels is the MAIN one. I was involved in a car accident in March of 2017 that caused extensive damage to my vehicle. I contacted my insurance company, GEICO, to report the accident in order to get my vehicle repaired. The GEICO claims adjuster, Michelle **, came to my home to provide an estimate of the repairs and stated that it would take 12 days to repair the vehicle. I am not a professional accident person, so I don't know the first telltale sign of when an insurance company and an body shop is pulling one over on you nor was I expecting that, especially at a time where I was already feeling down and out, confused and already very vulnerable. I just did what was told to me, when it was told to me, how it was told to me.

I selected a repair shop, Extreme Whips LLC, owned by Kawan ** to make the repairs on my vehicle. The vehicle was towed to his shop in March to be repaired. After months of having my vehicle, I contacted Kawan ** to find out the status of my vehicle. On multiple occasions, excuses were made that parts needed for the vehicle were on backorder. In the month of July, Michelle ** contacted me saying the vehicle was ready. When it came time for me to pick up my vehicle, neither Kawan ** nor Michelle ** were responding to calls or text messages.

During all of this, I received notification in May 2017 that my vehicle was being dropped by GEICO at the end of the 6 month term for no legitimate reason. They are citing that I was not properly taking care of the vehicle. All premiums had been paid and I have had GEICO insurance on this vehicle for over a year without any issues. Now we are in the month of July and at this point, I just wanted to take possession of my vehicle. At the end of July, I called the police and they met me at the shop. When they arrived, the police asked Kawan ** about the vehicle and he stated that he had put a lien on the vehicle and was not releasing it.

However, he was unable to produce any paperwork to prove that he had a lien on the vehicle. Therefore, the police said that there was nothing they could do since he said he had a lien on the vehicle. I contacted the Department of Motor Vehicles and found out that Kawan ** did not have a lien on the vehicle. The title is still registered to my sister, myself and the bank. Kawan ** is claiming he did not receive any money for the repairs for the vehicle and that I cashed all of the checks to the police on the next trip to his shop with a new set of officers. I have copies of the checks that GEICO issued and were cashed by Kawan ** for the repairs.

At this point, I don't know where the car is located and had to hire an attorney to file a civil case against Kawan ** and Extreme Whips. The first court date was set for September. The next, December 1, 2017 and a continuance was requested due to no response for witnesses. The final court date was February 16, 2018. All evidence was not presented properly in this case; the judge did not consider the expert testimony of a certified mechanic who stated the car was not repaired. It was revealed in court that Kawan ** was not a certified mechanic and not qualified to repair the vehicle. Not only that my car has not yet been fixed, no one knows where it is located and all of his and the Geico agents (whom I believe he is working with running a scam with) lied under oath and the judge allowed and believed everything from them and didn't allow nothing from me.

Not only this, this man has cashed over 11,000.00 worth of checks and brought into court several receipts of evidence and only 2,100.00 was actually real receipts towards my car and the judge approved it cutting he made the mistake because he only had 10 days to get his paperwork yet he brought in estimates and tried to pay them off as receipts and also receipts from other cars marked as mine from previous years and the judge used it.

The judge ruled that we were both at fault and ordered each of us to pay. She is making me pay storage fees for a car that I have no idea where it is located. It is not fixed. I was told since March until August it will be ready next week then next week and finally I just wanted my car so in retaliation he hit me with storage fees and she okayed this. She was without any knowledge of facts concerning this type of issue and was extremely biased in her ruling. I also believe my attorney failed to represent me properly in this case and as a result, the case was lost.

Here it is now almost a year later; I still do not have my vehicle and I do not know the location of my vehicle. I need serious help. February 16th 2018, last Friday I was given 10 days to appeal. I have called my attorney every day since then and he has refused to call me back to give me any counsel. His paralegal has since stated that my 10 days don't start until Kawan decides what he wants to do. However I went to the courthouse and found out it was two separate cases such means we both had 10 days and they started at the same time. His paralegal is saying that is not the case. I have still asked to speak with the attorney because I would like to weigh my options and he is refusing to respond to me.

I have all of the paperwork of the from the certified technician who was basically ignored by the judge along with chores of my retort from DMV showing no lien. I also know that this state certified gentlemen is not happy and is willing to make a statement. I also now have a copy of my estimate (the one and only one I received) plus all of the different ones given between Geico and this con which is very different from what was stated to me, however NO COMMUNICATION WAS GIVEN TO ME.

I have reached out to everyone, councilmen, police, state police, governor, mayor, commonwealth attorney's office, DMV law enforcement office, DMV select, consumer acts of VA, they are saying they can't help and that I have to get legal counsel and legal counsel needs to file a motion for retrial and to make it an emergency. I am still paying on a vehicle I haven't seen note do I know where it is. Testimonies were said in my name that I never even said. Paperwork used as legal documents were used and they were not legal. I have so much proof. I just need help.

I am fighting a winning yet losing battle all by myself. There are a lot of people at fault here and I am not one of them, but I am the only one being held accountable. There are a lot of people I would love to see have to answer to this. But in the meantime I want to know where is my car that I am paying for and why isn't it fixed and why doesn't anyone care that this man has been paid and hasn't fixed my car? I want answers! I deserve answers! And I want them NOW! Please help me. The judicial, police, Geico and many others have failed me. I'm begging for YOUR help. Patiently I await in hopes of your help, it is February 24, 2018 still no car, no idea where it is, it isn't fixed, and I'm still paying on it and still paying insurance to another company PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME!

I was in a car accident, the accident was not my fault, this was verified by police and admitted by GEICO. They refused to reimburse me for time missed from work on the day of the accident. This was after I provided them with all the paperwork they said they needed to reimburse me. My car was totaled and I had to pay out of pocket to get an older model vehicle. They were very unhelpful and dishonest. I would and do recommend to everyone I come into contact with that they should not waste their money and pay for an insurance company that actually does their job.

GEICO should spend less on commercials and more on fulfilling their obligations. I would highly recommend you search elsewhere for an insurance company. Perhaps their rates are cheap, but it is because their service is terrible. I have been a loyal USAA member for years and would recommend them to anyone! The difference in helpfulness and fulfilling obligations is astounding! Go USAA!!! GEICO needs to revamp their entire system. As of now, their service is absolutely awful.

GEICO was supposed to help fix my car so at 1st everything seemed like it was going to work. They got it towed to a shop to be repaired and cleaned out. But the repair shop said it would be $2000 for them. The seat too has map to clean the blood off the leather seats so they didn't value my car that much. Sally said they would total it out. Well me being injured and the in to go to the doctor and everything that was not an option.

So they towed the car back to my house without the keys. I to go to the shop to retrieve my keys. Had to get my twelve-year-old nephew to help me jack the car up to change the tire. I got in the car and clean the back seat without the left side of my body. Geico said they would pay me for the 3 weeks I miss work. Well here we are February. I keep calling them. I've sent them all the paperwork and just like how I had to fix my own car they keep giving me the runaround. So I just want to leave this review and tell about my experience. Thanks Geico.

I signed up for a GEICO policy 2/16/2018 requesting one simple document, that was promised to be available to me in 48 hours. I called 8 times and finally got to a human who said "we've tried to get a hold of you." I said, "well not by the phone number or emails I provided"... Perhaps they were "trying to get a hold of me" by USPS mail. I can deal with "We forgot". I can deal with "It got missed. Sorry". I can't deal with broken promises, for a policy costing over a thousand dollars. If it was less than a thousand I would actually not complain, but it is.

I went back to Geico, even though it was more expensive than my other policy with higher coverage at lower cost, because I trusted they could deliver promises. That trust was broken, and I wanted to cancel. Instead of honoring my request I was put on hold for, with a total call time of 25 min. If I was getting free money from the state and needed to be on hold I would understand. I'm handing over hundreds of dollars for nothing but electric forms. The saddest part is I still haven't gotten a result with the forms or canceling.

I have a 2012 Hyundai Veloster and bought it second hand. I have owned it approx 5 years. The other day I came out to find the panoramic window was cracked. We have a number of freezes and thaws and I thought it just froze and when it heated up it broke but the GEICO adjuster met me and said he thought it looked like a freeze and break too but then he researched the Hyundai Veloster panoramic window and realized it was about 1200 dollars to fix, so we told him we have done research online and there was a recall on that window in 2013 and they fixed it (which I didnt own it then) but they said it was satisfied but that's all our adjuster needed even though it was fixed. He said, "Nope we don't cover that."

Since it was a recall (we said but it was satisfied five years ago and you yourself said it looks like it freeze and break and he just shrugged that off and said his upper people needed to look at this case but of course it was just him.) So Hyundai said they weren't fixing it cause they already did 5 years ago and of course our full coverage insurance company (Geico) said they weren't covering it. My claim number is **... I was waiting at the red light (left lane, southbound) on a highway when my left lane light turned green to make a left only. There were 3 lanes southbound and 3 lanes northbound. All other lanes were stopped at the red light. There were 2 cars in front of me turning left as well as a median dividing the highway with shrubs and tall Palm trees so I could not see down the lane on the left northbound side until my car turned completely left and was facing east. Once I gained visibility, I could see a car speeding in the left lane as she was on her phone and she ran the red light, crossing into the intersection I was already in. She must have been driving approx 55mph.

I was driving about 10mph and as soon as my car turned east and I saw her coming, I slammed on my brakes, stopping short and she scraped by the front of my bumper. I avoided a major accident by acting quickly and I took pictures of everything. An eyewitness told police she ran the red light. Her registration was expired so she could not take her car and I watched her walk away down the street with no injuries. After which she retained a lawyer and sued my insurance company for 10,000 in medical damages. Also the damages to both vehicles were so minimal (all body damage scrapes and holes with no indents).

The claims department (South Florida) representative assigned to my claim was very rude or just impatient and I did not have pleasant experience with her, but the supervisor in claims was very professional and patient. However, he still agreed with the decision that I was 20 percent liable due to not seeing her in time to avoid the accident and due to the impact. I am so perplexed by this. I did see her and that is how I was able to stop short to avoid a major accident. It turned out to be a fender bender. My bumper was scraped badly in the middle by her car passing by and scraping it before she could come to a full stop. Her scrapes start at her front side and end at her rear side door.

It is obvious from photos I sent them that I did not directly impact her car in the side. I stopped short and she scraped my car while she was still moving. I asked GEICO to get the video from the cameras that were in the intersection and they said they were denied by my local police. However my local police said the county is the one who controls those camera. The other driver was cited by police for running the light and still I have 20 percent liability and they are going to pay 20 percent of her fraudulent medical bills, when I had the right of way and she caused the accident.

This incomprehensible to me how they can get away with this. Even if I am 1 percent liable, I am going to pay higher rates for a few years for an accident that I didn't cause. I have been with GEICO for 14 years and at 45, this is my first accident or claim. I moved from 1 state to another and since it's a new policy number, I didn't complete my 5 years for another few months to receive accident forgiveness. I am in the process of filing a complaint and researching affordable options to fight this.

GEICO was not worth the 2000 I paid them every year for years and they were not on my side at all. I really thought I was paying for quality insurance but it turns out I should have chosen a cheaper rate with another company if I was going to be treated like this anyway. This whole situation leaves me to wonder if they just choose to settle with the other insurance company for the minimum to avoid legal fees of fighting the case on my behalf and make the other lawyer go away. I asked if I could appeal and they said there is no appeal process. He advised me that my letter will only go back to the same people who made the decision, even though I am still going to write a letter to dispute this decision, even if it is a waste of time.

Approximately one week after I was released from hospital, I was notified that I did not have collision coverage on my car (RAV4 with only 26,000 miles). I contacted both the Attorney General’s Office & BBB; however, there is little they can do to help other than document complaints. Needless to say, I am extremely upset & as I am retired, it will be nearly impossible to replace my car. (Please note: I had not been involved in an accident in 44 years.) I have come to the conclusion that we are just dollar signs to the insurance industry. They have attorneys & a strong lobby which leaves individuals feeling quite helpless.

The representative was relentless, telling me that in a few months the new insurance company I was going with would probably raise my premium significantly, and he kept bugging me about the effective date on my new insurance policy, which I assured him was good to go. He bugged me so much about it that I went all the way out to my car to read him the effective date just so he'd quit talking about it. What should have been a five minute call turned out to be about fifteen minutes because he wouldn't quit talking about what a mistake it was to cancel with GEICO. In one situation, I needed a tow truck, and I had tow coverage, but they couldn't or wouldn't help (So, no tow truck ever came). In another situation, I was rear-ended. Not a huge impact, but the long scratch left should be taken care of the individual responsible. I found out the other individual was covered by Geico. No agent ever came out. I called and left a message, and no response was ever forthcoming. In order to take care of the problem, I would have had to pay for the damage myself and I had a higher deductible, which should have been taken care of by the other driver. I asked Geico about this, and they had little to say.

Recently, I received, after I sent a check, a notice my coverage was canceled, or being canceled. I called. They said they did send a notice of future cancellation, which I never got. I asked for a week's extension, but they said they couldn't. I asked why, after closing on 2 decades, they couldn't do a simple extension, being that for nearly 2 decades, they always received my payments. Well, I said I was done with the company, and no one at the company ever called to keep my business. All they said, in simple, was they were sorry to lose my business. However, another agent thought my situation should have been handled differently, which makes me wonder if that agent will still be working there. That will be it for me. Others I know said they've had less than par service. They've left as well.

However, like all insurance companies, they are profit driven, and have big-time political clout, at least in the state of FL, that makes you buy certain types of insurance whether you need it or not. So even though I appreciate having them when I need them the price you pay for that coverage is too expensive. You can also expect your insurance to go even higher than ever.

GEICO agent contacted me and ASSURED me that repairs and rental will be covered and she mailed all the necessary documents. GEICO also set me up with Enterprise for a rental. So, after all said and done I got the rental and my truck was repaired. During the time my truck was in the shop, Enterprise contacted me about 3 times to let me know that they have not received reimbursement for the rental. I explained to them that my truck was still in the shop and that they should contact the appraiser or the shop and I provided the contact information to Enterprise. I continued to get calls from Enterprise after that.

I finally got my truck back and 30 days later I receive a bill from Enterprise for the complete cost of the rental $885.35! I figured it will be taken care of by GEICO, but no I end up receiving 2 more bills and 2 letters from Enterprise threatening to take action against me. I contact Scott, the appraiser. I have not heard back from Scott or anyone else at GEICO to this date.

I placed another call to Scott on 2/11 and left him a message and still no response/call back, no reply to my email either. Now my accident was on 11/8/17. My truck was returned on 12/29/17. The other driver said that I entered his lane and drove into him. GEICO sided with the other driver 100% on his policy and 60% on mine. They paid him $21,000 and officially marked it on my driving record, according to Mercury Insurance. GEICO said that they received a written statement of facts from the other driver's attorney but never documented it in either claim file. All of the adjusters refused to discuss the statement upon telephone communications.

GEICO literally told me to go through the process of discovery to obtain the statement. I subpoenaed GEICO in Small Claims for the statement but they refused to comply with the subpoena stating that the information was protected, despite the multiple exemptions. The interesting part is that the first claim adjusters on the other driver's policy told me that the other driver stating in the statement that the other driver's "vision was impaired". This claim adjuster was immediately replaced after I sent an internet inquiry asking to discuss the statement and what the adjuster had told me. I have never been able to contact that adjuster again.

I am now involved in an Unlimited Civil Bad Faith lawsuit for hiding and concealing the statement (material misrepresentation), for fabricating the statement and its existence since it was never proved to actually exist (intentional misrepresentation), refusing to discuss the statement, attempting to compel me to manifest my assent and accept liability, and assuming that I accept liability (tortious interference), along with the intentional infliction of emotional distress, the breach to pay a covered claim, and breach of the duty and the implied covenant of good faith and fair dealing. GEICO literally sided with the other party when we were both saying the same thing about the other person. GEICO then refused to discuss what the other person said and refused, even during the course of litigation, to provide the other driver's statement.

I've been dealing with Geico for over 3 weeks now. I am insured by Progressive and, unfortunately, one of their policyholders (Geico insured) struck my vehicle. He was at fault which was determined by both agencies. Over 3 weeks this process has been dragged out with little to no communication. I've even tried to help move it along by uploading photos of my vehicle that was damaged, uploading the accident report, continuously calling in an attempt to resolve the issue. I've been left with no vehicle with a wife and three children. I also missed a potential job opportunity (I was hired) because I had no transportation. I've spoken with others and their claims were resolved in a week or two, obviously they weren't dealing with Geico. I asked for a supervisor's email, number, or if a supervisor could contact me and was told to contact Brian who has been handling this claim from the beginning.

I live in N.Y. and because of the laws there's nothing to encourage Geico to get things resolved. I am at a loss on multiple fronts with no resolution in sight. The vehicle was deemed a total loss. The adjuster Brian said that he would be using local sales of the same vehicle to help determine the value. When I took the monetary amount Geico said was reasonable in this area (2,500.00) and applied it to multiple sites they were off by over $1,500.00. I then contacted the adjuster where he asked me to send him links to those sites (same vehicle for sale). I did just that and nothing.

He tries making up more excuses as to how they determined value which is different than the original version. Based on the cost of repair versus the value of the vehicle if they were to use the value of my vehicle in the area my vehicle would have to be repaired which is preferred by myself. Even Kelly Blue Book says the value is around 3,200.00. This has been a strenuous ordeal to say the least caused by another party.

One time my car had a problem on an Interstate road and I called to get what I was paying for a roadside assistance and believe it or not they asked me if I can stay till tomorrow because the companies in my area are busy and guess what I called the nearest towing company and they told me, "We're going to get ya in couple of minutes".

I explained that to the man and it felt like he didn't care at all. I would call him no answer, or we would talk and he would tell me, "I will call you back..." Never happened! So I finally took my car Monday to get fixed. It's Friday and I still am without my vehicle because the claim adjuster would not pick up his phone and he would not go out and take pictures of my car...

I'm still pregnant so because of Geico's laziness and carelessness I had to miss work, doctor's appointments and the ones I did go to I'm coming out of pocket paying people for gas... I will not have my car till next week so I called and talked to a supervisor and all I got was, "I'm so sorry you went through that but there's really nothing we can do." I WILL NEVER USE GEICO AGAIN. I RECOMMEND NOBODY USE GEICO. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!

Filing a claim was easy. However, they are overpriced esp once they place you in the indemnity even if you have no accidents, claims, or issues after many years of being a faithful customer they still will not remove you from indemnity and make it difficult for one to transfer to a different company at lower rates because they end up reporting any use of windshield claim or towing as a no-fault or something bringing your rates higher with other companies when other companies review your insurance record. Geico knows it is a big company so they don't care if they lose customers. They make up the difference by charging another member higher prices.

The GEICO adjuster said the accident did not happen in the intersection, that is a lie, because the point of impact and point of rest of my vehicle was in the intersection. Now GEICO says they will only pay 70% of the liability. The woman ran a stop sign.

That car pushed the 3 other car. Even the Geico driver admitted that it was her fault. Well the next day she changed her mind saying that my car hit the other two cars before she rear ended my car. So Geico insurance only want to pay for half of the damage that you caused. That was 5 months ago and I am still without a car. Geico commercials advertise that they are the best answers out there but when it comes to paying up they look the other way and LIE.

Jan. 25th 2018 my car was stolen and I put in the claim and the representative was great. My car was found the following Monday and I notified Geico and they called me on Tuesday to go over everything. They just needed the police report. Since my policy didn't cover rental me and my husband have been taking public transportation and having my co-workers bring us to and from work or to the closest bus stop. So me and my husband took the bus to the police station and got the report and uploaded it to our claim later that Tuesday. Geico came out Wednesday to look at the car and give an estimate on the car. We needed a new key and a new tire. We also wanted a interior cleaning because the car wreaked of drugs and paraphernalia was all over the car.

Geico stated that the work we should be only a day and it was about 700 for the car repairs with our deductible of $500. That was fine. It is now February 6th 2018 and they still have not started work on our car because apparently they still haven't looked at the police report. So my car is still sitting at Ford waiting to be worked on. And now I am still waiting on a call back from GEICO to figure out where they are with our car repairs. I have still not received a callback or any communication from them. I will not be continuing my policy with them and I will never come back.

There are not many good insurance companies left in the USA anyway because the state insurance departments are owned by the insurance companies and will not regulate them lawfully. I have had bad experiences with State Farm, Travelers, and Geico because they do not train their employees well and do not want to spend any $$$ investigating accidents but have found it cheaper to just pay claims they don't owe and increase their Insureds premiums.

I am waiting on my Geico auto bill as I write as they sent me a letter before Christmas with more bad news regarding my premium. First, last year they insist leaving my Daughter on the policy as an additional driver even though she will be in Germany for 18 months and charged me a premium for her even though she has no chance of driving any of our cars and she has no coverage in Europe under this policy. Then, they say on the next 6 months she is no longer eligible to be on the policy because she is age 25-even though she was age 25 before they insisted she remain on the policy. She also owns one of the cars. Do these Morons have any idea what they are doing? On every claim I have filed, I know more about coverage than the morons on the other end of the line and they always argue with me until they open the policy and stop. They also continually attempt to sell me insurance that I do not want or need.

They have assigned two claim numbers on at least 3 claims I have had - all first party not at fault - and have attempted to assign me a deductible when I have none, etc. They may save the average consumer 15% initially but they will sock it to you on claim costs and points whenever they can. They also do not investigate claims but just pay the other guy and whop it to you on premiums. I dread every 6 months having to deal with these peckerwoods as I know my premium is going to increase. Also, if you ever try to drop an additional driver because they no longer reside in the household, they will exclude that person for life as a covered driver. Great service!!

One finally showed up over 3 hours after my initial call. I asked for a supervisor to call me back and the agent confirmed someone would after their break and no one did. I wrote them a complaint and requested a refund on my roadside assistance for the month because I did not receive adequate assistance and was left in an unsafe situation and received no follow up. They responded they would not do that and suggested I cancel the service for next month. I am canceling this entire insurance policy and taking my business elsewhere. I had recently got my car loan transferred into just my name and so had decided to change the bank info as well as the lienholder on my GEICO account. So I made my first call and told them that I had a new Lienholder on my vehicle and my auto pay was going to come out of the same account, I gave them all the new bank info that they needed and changed it on my auto payment as well.

The following payment they tried taking money out of my old account and it gave me a $-25 dollar fee on my bank account, I saw it on my phone and called GEICO back. They said they apologized and it would not happen again, the following business day they did it again and another $-25 was on my old account. Because there was no money in that account because I had changed to the same bank my lien was through I called GEICO and they said it automatically will do a re-pull on the same account if there was no payment made.

So not only did I get charged $50 through my bank I also got charged an additional $30 from GEICO. I talked to 3 diff supervisors and all 3 of them told me they could not find any of my recorded phone calls. I said to them, "On your call it says the phone calls are recorded but none of mine were??" They all said, "No. I'm sorry. It just records random calls." I changed insurances over fees that were not my fault and them taking money out of my account when I had told them not to not only once but twice.

I purchased insurance with Geico less than a month ago providing the information online. They gave me a quote for some $** and almost after 10 days I got an email from Geico saying that my insurance quote has raised for some reason (almost doubled). Today I called them to cancel my insurance and they asked me to pay the excessive amount for the current month as balance. The reason they told why my insurance quote got doubled is "you have 3 incidents which are not listed while quoting online". First of all 2 of those 3 incidents are not my fault and I haven’t claimed single penny. One was speeding which is more than 2 years ago.

So now they say very rudely that even though it’s not my fault. I need to bear it because it shows in the report and that’s the reason my insurance rate got increased. This is the second worst experience with Geico. I personally feel Geico is very technically cheating people with their disclosure and the most important thing is my call got transferred to 4 different people and 2 ladies in it were like do whatever you want and we don’t need you anymore. I feel very low with this worst experience. I personally suggest everyone, never ever choose Geico insurance. I got 2 worst customer service experience.

I didn’t for the 15+ years I’ve been with them but I was reading on their website that they offer this either as an additional amount to your premium where can be awarded to you based on certain anniversary dates and how well you kept your record with no accidents. Well in the 38 years I’ve been driving and in the 15+ years I’ve been using Geico I was never in an accident until I hit someone’s bumper at 5 miles an hour coming to a stop sign. No damage was done to the other car, still he put in a claim and sure enough my insurance increases A LOT.

So... What about that accident forgiveness I should of been awarded based on the 15 plus years I’ve been insured with NO claim before. It does not exists because I’m on the so called preferred plan with them, that means my insurance is cheaper because I’ve been with them so long. So... If you haven’t been with them long you can pay an additional amount for this coverage but if you HAVE been with them long and your rates went to preferred status YOU DONT get that reward as they claim because you're already getting a lower rate. CATCH 22 sales pitch is all that is. Ridiculous!!!

I have been a faithful customer of Geico's for over twenty years. The customer service has been excellent, so much that I led many new customers to Geico Insurance, including my husband. In all that time I had no moving violations. Last January 25, 2017 I was involved in a car accident. The driver ran a red light (there are documented witnesses) and hit our car. She was not ticketed because the female policewoman felt sorry for her. We did too and even offered her a ride. I had a whiplash back injury and worked to heal my back for several months, choosing yoga and chiropractic work for the injuries that interfered with my ability to sit and stand. I stayed with that treatment because it was working, though I learned later that if I'd gone with a medical doctor in the medical system I would have been taken more seriously.

The driver's insurance repaired the car immediately, but I ran into trouble with Geico when it came to settling for my healthcare claim. My Geico agent, whom I assumed was working on my behalf, as the long time customer, ordered a report from a physician in another town who had never seen me or my medical records, who made an unfounded judgment about my condition. This worked against my judgement with the driver's company and they refused to take into consideration any help with pain and suffering, none at all, though I suffered work loss, couldn't even walk at first, and had to spend months healing. I secured an attorney, and we asked that Geico reduce their claim for repayment of medical bills. The Geico agent refused any help with reduction whatsoever, even though the accident was not my fault. They could have offered even a little in good faith. The agent was adamant.

It is very clear that Geico did not work on my behalf, rather, they appeared to be backing the other driver and her company. And that they didn't offer any help whatsoever with a reduction is unconscionable. I will find another insurance company, and am going to suggest everyone I referred to Geico to change their carrier. I began to wonder too if there are any studies or reports that show how settlements of women and minorities fare against men and Euro-American claimants. I feel that this had a hand in the decision but cannot prove it, yet. Thanks for this opportunity to speak. It feels like I've been blindsided after a twenty year wonderful relationship with a company I've depended on.

I had my own doubts on how this deductible work, so called up Geico service again and the rep mentioned that as per the CA law, if the driver is not at fault and hit by uninsured or under-insured motorist, the deductible should be waived. When I called back the claims dept, they say that the manager handling the claim from other party (both are Geico in this case), has refused to release these funds sighting insufficient funds (Then why do we have this clause). Throughout the process, I spoke to many of Geico representatives who were very nice over the phone but looks like the system itself has some issues to be fixed. I had a car accident and GEICO significantly undervalued my vehicle (a BMW) they wrote as a total loss. GEICO uses what is supposed to be an independent valuation system (CCC and their CCC ONE product) but I can't imagine it is truly independent when they do significant amounts of business with GEICO. There is zero incentive for CCC ONE to fairly appraise vehicles because if GEICO paid out "fair market value" on claim settlements they wouldn't continue to use CCC ONE.

CCC ONE uses sophisticated algorithms to fairly appraise vehicles. The first report they generated had 10 out of 11 VEHICLES from the SAME DEALERSHIP. And then, the last vehicle was not even from an actual BMW dealership (an ACURA dealership). Add insult to injury, the vehicle was from an ACURA dealership on THE EAST COAST (I live in Los Angeles). So much for fair market valuation of a local vehicle! After pointing this out to the claims adjustor via a barrage of messages sent to him via the GEICO website about these issues- he responds back a day later telling me the vehicle should be re-evaluated based on HIS findings in the illegitimate report- providing no acknowledgment of my messages, acting as if HE found these issues.

CCC one did a second valuation report (Please note my BMW was loaded with options, i.e. M-SPORT). NONE of the vehicle comparisons generated had ALL of my options. Where is the LIKE-FOR-LIKE comparison that was supposed to be done on my vehicle as per my policy? Only ONE vehicle had the M-Sport package and then none of the vehicles matched my car's list of options. After pointing this out to GEICO they have refused to run another comparison report and have NOT EVEN ACKNOWLEDGED the vehicle comparisons locally that I have sent them that are FAR better comparisons! And to make it worse, the options they listed on the report were SIGNIFICANTLY undervalued. The car was 2.5 months into a lease! The M-Sport package ($3000.00 upon lease) DOES NOT DECLINE in value to $1400 in TWO MONTHS!

GEICO should re-evaluate my vehicle independent of CCC ONE with at least one vehicle that has all of my vehicles options. Since GEICO has proven to deny my request for another valuation (a tremendous show of gross incompetence, and seemingly acting in bad faith) I will have to invoke the appraisal clause and hire an independent appraiser ($ out of pocket) to help dispute the illegitimate low-ball settlement value that GEICO paid to BMW Financial. GEICO INTENTIONALLY chose lesser optioned cars. GEICO= CROOKS. STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM THEM AS POSSIBLE.

I have been a loyal customer for many years and I am quite disturbed with my recent service from Geico. I was involved in an accident on 12-24-17 in a CVS parking lot in which the other party was backing out of a parking space as I was in the process of turning into a parking space from the center lane between parking on both sides of the center lane. The 16 year old driver of the other vehicle involved begged me not to contact the police however, I thought otherwise.

When the officer arrived we both gave our versions of what happen. The 16 year old stated "that she was backing up and did not see me and so forth until making contact with my vehicle." I contacted Geico and filed a claim and couldn't help but to notice that the other party's vehicle was insured by Geico as well.

Several days went by and I contacted Geico again for a status update and was informed that the claims adjuster was having problems contacting the owner of the vehicle involved in the accident. I asked my adjuster was this a conflict of interest being that Geico was insuring both of the party's vehicles. Upon giving my recorded statement of what happened the day of the accident as well as informing the adjuster that the other driver stated to the officer that was onsite and completed a exchange of information form that she was in the process of backing out of her parking space when the accident occurred and that she did not see me.

Why was my claim denied even after the adjuster spoke with the officer and the officer backed up my statement? Is this a common practice? I am perplexed as to why you all even take a statement from police officers and do not take it into consideration for collecting accurate information for claims. I feel as though I have not been treated fairly and only ask that you do the right thing.

A week after my claim, someone from Geico called and said that she needed to record my statement, I agreed. 10 minutes into the call, I realized that it was an interrogation to get my verbal statements that I lied. The person at the phone was trained and quite skillful in different psychological techniques for interrogation. She used condescending tone, shouted when effective, threatened to take things to court, making things complicated for me, lengthening the process, throwing out random information that most of them were incorrect and constantly saying that they handle thousands of these "lies" everyday and they can crush me if they want.

Well, I had nothing to say to her, so I just repeated the truth. It was a hell of a 30 minutes psych pressure by a professional. I can easily see many people who are unprepared would just say whatever their interrogator at the phone wants to just get out of that humiliation. I changed my insurance after. I really could not believe it, I paid them $12000 in total in 3 years, and the first time I filed a claim for $2000, they sent a trained interrogator without any heads up/warning just to not pay that! When called said I had accident they found on my record. "Accident" was not legitimate nor any claims were made. Did not matter, refused to make correction. Hiked premiums without justification.

Had them before for a few years, kept hiking my rates, then when I called to complain received condescending and rude attitude. I then cancelled and changed to another company. A year later, shopping around for lower premiums and they had lowest, took a chance and changed, now regretted it as aforementioned. Changed back to former insurance company, paying a little more but with better coverage and respectful customer service. They are not jacking my rates every change they find. Would never recommend these clowns to anyone unless you want stress, hassle, and heartache.

Having car insurance is supposed to give you peace of mind. My brand new parked vehicle was hit in a parking lot so I decided to go through my own insurance and pay the deductible thinking they would have my best interest in my mind. WRONG!!! My car was in the shop for a total of 5 months before the shop determined that my vehicle was not repairable due to extensive damages. Geico felt like they were too invested financially by this point so they insisted my car should be repaired. After disputing for a while I got my car back after 13 months of not driving it and still paying for it. A week after I finally got the vehicle back. It broke down mechanically in the middle of the freeway. Mind you this is a brand new vehicle. Now Geico is disputing whether the breakdown is a consequence of the hit. So here I am responsible for a vehicle that is not working and I still have 48 months of payments due.

Near the first of December 2017, I awoke to find my vehicle had been hit while parked sometime between 3:00 am (daughter returned home from work) and 6:00 am when I walked my dog. Debris on the ground indicates that it was backed in as there were pieces of a tail light lens on the ground. The vehicle was pushed to the side at an approximately 45-degree angle. The impact appeared to be mostly on the right front wheel as the tire was pushed in from the bottom and angled or turned to the right while the other wheel was angled or turned to the left. Clearly some suspension and front-end damage had been done as well as some damage to the front fender and bumper. The online app was easy to use and towing to a local body shop was arranged at the push of a button. That's where the ease of the process ended.

Sometime during the first week the shady body shop manager called to ask if I would like to pay cash for the damage not covered by Geico. I was in disbelief as there was no other damage to my vehicle except from that accident. Zero damage anywhere on that vehicle until that day. I advised him that there was no out of pocket and no other damage unrelated to that accident. The first claims rep inspected and stated that the front bumper damage was unrelated. I disputed this and asked for a supervisor who advised me that she inspected as well and had the same conclusion. Moving up the chain I asked for her supervisor. Again I was told that the front bumper damage was not related. An interesting perception since no one asked how the vehicle was wrecked or any circumstances regarding it. The area where my vehicle was parked is narrow and there seemed to be no logical reason why and how it was hit, especially backed into.

Without knowing how the accident occurred, there is no way to determine if how many times the vehicle was hit. I find it troubling that a determination can be made without finding out how the incident occurred in the first place. It was equally troubling that I had to find out they weren't covering all the damage from the shady body shop who was trying to upsell the paint job for the front end. After 3 claims reps and supervisors, there was no other option but to have the damage fixed that they would cover. I was at the end of my rental coverage and without a vehicle, I had to accept it. If I could have afforded another vehicle, I would've defaulted on my loan, canceled my coverage and left the vehicle there just to prove my point.

The cost of the additional damage was not a lot, but that is not the point. I have Full Coverage. I should have been covered fully. Unfortunately I was not in a position to make my point in that manner. With that said, as soon as I am able I will cancel my policy with Geico and ensure I tell everyone I can about their treatment of a loyal customer. Yet another large company who tries to screw over their customers at every turn.

UPDATE: Geico did resolve my issue, and returned my money back into my account. I would like to give credit to the Supervisor (Katie) for assisting in getting this resolved. She contacted me immediately upon the release of the money.

    Original Review: Jan. 9, 2018

I just read the "4 reasons to embrace negative reviews and unhappy customers", from your "Consumer Affairs for brands." I personally do not like to post negative reviews about anyone or company, especially if that's all it's about; writing reviews, without resolve. I like resolution to problems as opposed to tearing someone down. I read the entire blog page about the reasons to embrace negative reviews. And hope Geico will take this review to heart and "embrace" it and resolve the issue, otherwise it becomes a legal issue.

I have been a customer for 10 years, and never had any problems, never had any accidents, or tickets etc., In fact, anytime I ever contacted Geico, the customer service has always been positive and professional with resolution. I contacted them on January 2, 2018 and spoke with a representative in regards to cancelling my policy. This was one day before policy renewal. The representative informed me that "unfortunately the money request for your money to be withdrawn from your account is in transit, and once it hits your account, it should reverse automatically, in other words, it will be as though you will not see the money leave your account." I was satisfied, and we hung up. This was on Tuesday. Thursday I contacted Geico and spoke with another representative and asked her if my money was received and cleared on their end. She told me "yes."

I then asked her why they cleared the money, and not return it back to my account, since I contacted them prior to it clearing in my account, then I told her the money is not supposed to be held on to, and asked them to release it back to my account. The next statement from her was "we need to verify from your bank that they released the money, and we need to make sure it cleared on our side, before it can be released back to you." I reminded her that she told me the money was received and cleared on her end. She told me it could take up to 2 weeks before the money is returned. I called back on January 7th and spoke to a representative again, and asked her to release my money, that they are not supposed to hold on to my money, since I cancelled prior to the renewal period, and since it was in transit on the 2nd. She gave me a "professional" runaround as well.

I called back on the 8th, and spoke with Heather (supervisor), she attempted to contact my bank (while I was on the phone) to have a 3 way conversation to make sure the bank released the money. I told her the same thing I told everyone else, but I entertained her, and let her make that attempt, unfortunately, the bank was closed. Heather told me she would have another supervisor contact me the next morning so we can contact the bank when they were open. The 9th, I waited by my phone all day long, until around 3:30pm, when I called them again, and spoke with a representative and told her my frustrations regarding the promise of being called back by a supervisor. She insisted that she could help me. She told me the money is in "receivables" and waiting for a review. A REVIEW???

I asked her what kind of review that money needed prior to being returned to me... She gave me some type of reasoning for it, that I did not understand, and did not make any sense to me. I told her that money has no reason to be reviewed, I cancelled on the 2nd of January, ONE day prior to renewal, end of story. She told me that she has no way of contacting receivables, therefore she would submit a message to them, and request the money be returned immediately to my account. Then she informed me that her shift was almost over, and she would contact me the next day to let me know how they responded to her request. I informed her that I have been promised before and I had a hard time trusting their promises. She told me that she will not let me down, because she too is a Geico customer and understands the meaning of a promise.

I then asked to speak with a supervisor to vent my frustration regarding promises they make... She transferred me to Katie (Supervisor). Katie told me that she was supposed to call me but was going to wait until later in the day. I told her that she was supposed to call before my bank closed, and it was too late now. Then I told her there was no need to contact my bank, because her representative informed me that Geico has my money in receivables waiting for a review before releasing back to me. She admitted they do have my money, and it is sitting and waiting to be returned. She blames weekends for the delay. WEEKENDS??? Weekends have nothing to do with my money. I told her that my perception is that they are sitting around, drinking coffee and not doing their job. That is the only logical reason I can find in my head as to why they are holding onto cleared money that does not belong to them.

They are holding onto money that was cancelled out one day prior to my renewal date. It should have been returned to me immediately. Once again, I hate writing reviews, if there is no resolution to the complaint. I do not like the fact Geico is holding on to money that I need. My new insurance company has already deducted money out of my account for my auto insurance, and Geico is holding on to money that does not belong to them. There is no reason to hold on to that money PERIOD! This review will remain open for updates, as time goes on. I will reveal whether I receive those promised phone calls, and I will reveal what date I receive my money back into my account. I wish there was something I could do legally about this issue. It is not right to hold onto something that does not belong to them.

They should have never received that money once I cancelled my policy, and once it hit their account, it should have been reversed, and not sit in a office for review. It's been 7 days since I contacted them, it was one day prior to renewal, therefore the entire amount is due to me. They informed me it has only been 3 business days from the 2nd to the 9th. Let's see. The 2nd was Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Monday, Tuesday (9th). It looks like, if my math is correct, it's been 6 full days. Where does she get 3 days? It should not have cleared on their end, it should have washed out, since I cancelled and it was in transit on Tuesday per the representative I spoke with on the 2nd. Now they are telling me it could take up to 2 weeks. NO! Open for Update... I hope, if Geico reads this, they use it to benefit positive changes in their company, and not take it as someone just complaining. I need resolution to this issue; IMMEDIATELY.

I was involved in an accident where I was cut off by another car and hit the curb/median in November 2017. My car had blown tires and damage to the suspension and was deemed a total loss. Geico found me responsible for the accident and was supposed to pay off the car to the lien holder, when I found out they were going up on my insurance over $700 a month my husband called them and cancelled the auto draft in November.

Geico still drafted my account on December 15th 2017 over $1100 without authorization causing my mortgage check and other bills to bounce. When we called to complain they claim there was no record of the phone call requesting the cancellation and to stop the auto draft. It’s now Jan 2018 and my lien holder still has not received my payoff check for the total loss vehicle because Geico claims the check was put in regular mail during the holidays with no way to track it. I would not recommend this company to anyone because of their dishonesty and unethical practices. This was the worst insurance company I have ever dealt with and if I can take some legal action against them I will.

I dislike Geico so much after what they did to me. I paid for glass protection/coverage in the event my windshield cracked. Well it did, my windshield cracked and they denied my coverage and they wouldn’t pay on the claim because of some glitch or stipulation in their system. I was with them for over 10 years. They refused to do their job as I was still paying for glass coverage. They were so ungrateful for my loyalty. (Not to mention they never reduced my rates and always paid premiums). I was passed around their departments like a hot potato.

I kept repeating myself and none of them were on the same page as if they weren’t aware of the issue. They sold me coverage that they were not going to cover me on... Don’t sell me coverage for something you won’t pay out on. Ridiculous. They don’t have a customer complaint department or retention department. Had they paid for my windshield they would have made their money back and then some but now after 10 plus years. I left and I would never go back to them.

In November a tree fell on my parked car, totaling a car barely two years old. They said they issued a check for the loss which was 2K less than the remaining loan, and the bank never received it. So they reissued the check supposedly. When the bank received the check the check BOUNCED! And the amount was reversed! I am shocked at the level of unprofessionalism.

I didn't had one of the cars number (only had one of them when I started the insurance), when I called again a few days later they gave me a different price of $505 per month! When I tried to understand where did the price change came from (from $374 to $505) they didn't had anything smart to say. Bottom line, very bad experience, don't believe anything they say. I left Geico due to a situation in which I was hit in the rear by a welfare recipient. Regardless of the fact I was the one hit, Geico wanted me to pay a$500 deductible. So I changed insurance companies. For a year or more I received letters and calls from Geico telling me what a good caring company they are. What benefits are available, how I can save money, etc. Well I went back. Big mistake. One detail they did not tell me about was the $50 glass protection plan. Needless to say my windshield was cracked and my deductible was $500, less than the price of a new windshield. Geico had information that would have been beneficial to me and they withheld it. So I think this information would have saved me money. Something Geico is always saying they do for their customers. A big fat LIE.

I made Geico what the lady named Candace. It seemed like this girl Candace had an attitude. Judged your answers by the way you answered your questions with the claim. Like I live in Devils Lake North Dakota, the roads here the day I made my claim two days before Christmas this year 2017, I called right away and did my police report and I got Candice as my claims agent. She had a very snotty attitude. I would answer her questions as a person that pays close to $100 for her car insurance. I answered every question truthfully as I felt like he came on to impact hitting my driver's door due to weather conditions. A day after Christmas she decides to call me mind you around supper time 6 p.m. To tell me that Geico car insurance declares that they are citing with the other car insurance on this. I had American Family before and every claim that I had... I WON.

The day of my claim that I called there was ice and snow on the road. Candice couldn't make this through. She told me she didn't understand what I meant by I see and snow. She said, "Was it over casting and how many "meters," "inches" were you from where you parked leaving to where he came on the impact with you?" I gave her the best description out everything I possibly could with respect. She always came back with a snotty attitude like she was holding her nose talking and then chuckles...

I felt like I just left in my parking lot and a Truck came on it and packed with me. They want to side with the other insurance company on this one? Because the police department handles they issued me a ticket saying proper and backing. Never have I dealt with this with any other car insurance before... I pay close to $100 and now my door won't be getting fixed. I don't have Collision on my policy but I felt like I was in an accident with it when I never came on the impact with him and from please review footage. There's two lanes in a residential road. If Geico or this can destroy have any common sense they would have sided with me. SEEING HOW THAT DAY I NEVER EVEN GOT TO PUT MY CAR IN DRIVE YET!!!

It's more than 10 years that my wife and I are customers with Geico for our two cars. No history of incidents or claims, few tickets older than 10 years and our policy costs more than $1,600 for 6 months. My wife has a new Honda CRV and I drive a 9 years old Honda Accord. Both of us decided the lowest limits on the policy that the state of RI allows to pay as less as possible, but still Geico could not lower our policy a penny.

I called my brother to a nearby city that has a very similar policy than mine and I asked him how much it was paying. He also has Geico and with the highest limits him and his wife pay half than me. I was so irritated, soon called back Geico customer service to tell them why two family with similar situation a policy needed to pay so differently. They tried to tell me that we had different cars etc but is not true. Our car are older than 2 years and then my brother has higher limits, so he should be paid more and not less than me. Totally with no sense the customer service lady could not give an explanation on why our policies were so different in price with same records history and similar cars.

I want to share my experience because I thought Geico was the cheapest and the more convenient company in US for car insurance, but actually it is not. I also bundled my house insurance with them but I still pay the double of my brother. It's ridiculous, please I invited everyone to compare your car insurance policy with other companies, find your time to shopping around and don't let you get ripped off from Geico. When I say I had the worst experience I had the worst experience with Geico a company which promises excellent customer service came out to be totally wrong. It all began with filing for my first claim ever! I reported a hit a run that happen in the neighborhood I stayed overnight at, they came to do a estimate on the incident and quickly told me I was lying! Had me under investigation saying that I could face federal charges if I'm lying, interrogated me, ask me questions like where I work, where I was the day before that had nothing to do with the incident. I never was accused of lying before!. I was already devastated about my car! To add on top of that the investigation took 3 months! I was without a car for three months just cause they thought I was lying.

When they finally accepted my claim after 3 months they told me to take my car to a shop so it can get repaired. I took it in myself, got off work early to take it in the shop, stayed there a day just to get a call from Geico telling me they are sorry that my car is actually totalled and I need to get my title and registration asap if I dont want nothing to happen to my car. So again I had to spend time off work to make it to the shop. I couldnt believe a company that promises so much customer service treated me such way, so then I proceeded with the horrific process and went in for the settlement check for the loss, they try to give me a extreme low amount for my car that wasnt fair. I had to pull up documents of all the work I put in my car for them to increase my check which again took tremendous amount of time and hassle...

Then when it was finally time for them to send the check they took their almighty time and made my life ten times harder. I have kids, I have a job, I have a life. Geico did not care about any of that... that's not the end. I was due to make my last payment on my policy on December which I was qualified for lower rates. I went on the app and notice I had a outstanding balance of 750 dollars! I quickly called them and ask them what was going on. They told me I disputed a charge when I never did! I went right into my bank account to prove them that I didnt. Mind you it was one week before I had to pay my last bill so I wanted to make sure everything was going to be ok. After some back and forth with the representative they finally told me that they are sorry that they took the wrong payment off my policy and to not worry 'cause they will get it resolve and they will contact me. I trusted their customer service to help me.

I quickly regretted it. They put the money that they mistakenly took out my policy and added to my next bill due in less than a week. They never got back on me on how they were able to solve the issue and they proceeded with charging my card with the outstanding balance that they made a mistake on and since I'm not ever used to making a 750 dollar monthly bill it decline and since it decline they proceeded with cancellation of my policy! Totally wrong. As soon I notice I called and they didnt even bother to help me. They're were very disrespectful and told me that even if I make that payment they wont go forward with my policy cause of some misinformation on my claim that I had no information at all about?

Please stay away from this company. The worst experience. I'm telling you they will literally not care about your life situation. They didnt care that it was Christmas coming up for me that I had a child to make happy that I made it to work. It was a disgusting feeling seeing how this company treated me. I dont want it to happen to you.

Not to mention she is not local. I have at this point been dealing with this since right after Thanksgiving. So I went online to my phone carrier and copied my call log from over 30 days (10/1/17 - 11/25/17). Because I copied the phone log and put it in Word format, she didn't want to accept this. The following month, I was told I owed a lump sum of approx. $900; mind you, I signed up for monthly payments.

When I contacted customer service, she was quick to tell me that I had taken action to change my method of payment (which would make no sense, given that I only do monthly payments) and that the best she could do was waive it by having me make a payments (more than my agreed monthly payment.) She did not care to work with me remedy the issue - rather, she was quicker to have me cancel the policy, which I had no issue doing. Apparently The Geico Corporation has outgrown its concern for their orig. policy holders. We joined them in 1970 and over the years to present have insured all our houses, cars, kids' cars and now our R.V., since they started carrying R.V.'s. That is 47 years of loyalty and also a lot of premiums vs. very small claims. What really upsets me is when calling to ask why, the general attitude is, "That's just the way it is. Asking to speak to higher management, I was again told they could not help me as she was the head of dept. After insisting to be transferred, she, Kristin, commented that there are three higher managers and, "I'll see if one could call you within 24 hrs." No one has called after that time period. It is a real shame to see this company go this way after all of its earlier struggles with their management and owners to grow to their size. We will cancel our insurance with them as of the policies ends, Jan. 2018.

I switched to Geico several months back because they were offering much lower premiums than anywhere else. I paid for liability, uninsured motorist, and underinsured motorist... Possibly other coverage but I'm not positive as to whether or not I accepted or declined other coverage. I did not have Comp and Collision. My 16 year old son was hit from the side by an uninsured driver switching lanes into the lane he already occupied. The uninsured driver attempted to blackmail my son, then my brother, then me into paying her to not report the accident to Geico.

She was very excited about a "deal" she claimed to have with her dealership in which if she "could" wreck her car, it'd be paid off. She was convinced she would be able to spin it as not being her fault. I refused to do anything illegal or immoral and I notified Geico myself in compliance with my contract with them. Every step of the way throughout the claims process up to this point, I have been treated as if I was the one lying. They took a statement from my son eventually. I pulled him from school one day for a scheduled call that never came. They wound up calling a few days later in the middle of what would normally have been a school day, but my son had been exempt from testing that day due to his 3.8 GPA and only the single absence.

However, Geico was never interested in taking a statement from ANY of the 6 witnesses, including my other son who was a passenger. They never wanted to see the damage to my vehicle, neither to determine damages for an uninsured motorist claim or to help investigate the accident by comparing damages. They refused to obtain the police report, repeatedly asking me to obtain and pay for it. When I was asked if I would be reimbursed, I was told I would not be. The officer had not investigated the accident. He had not gone to the scene of the accident, spoken to any witnesses, taken a statement from either of my sons, taken any photos, in fact he did nothing but ask the uninsured driver for her story and turned away the witnesses that tried to approach him.

He did not even verify insurance. He had to track down the uninsured driver later to ticket her for no insurance when it was discovered. Even with all of this information, Geico refuses to actually look at the accident or any evidence unless it is provided by the uninsured driver or her attorney. After her blackmail attempts failed, and she likely discovered her "deal" was GAP insurance and didn't fly if she didn't have insurance, she claimed injury. So, Geico refuses to even search for the truth. I am left to find it on my own, filing lawsuit against the uninsured driver, searching the local businesses for security footage that may have got the wreck on video, attempting to hire an accident investigator since no one is willing to investigate, but so far have been unable to find one willing that I can afford.

Same with a private investigator. I have asked the witnesses I have found to contact the insurance company and just offer an honest statement but I suspect it will do precious little since they are seemingly more concerned about the attorney than the truth. I should have gotten their names, but I didn't, only that they were employees at the daycare center that my son was hit in front of and they were outside with the kids at the time of the wreck and one of them was the driver of a brown truck that had been traveling behind my son. I have switched to a different insurance company at a higher premium rate, but I figure in the end, it's actually cheaper.

Geico has made no effort to find the truth. They seem more than happy placing fault with my son even though the damages don't match the story the uninsured driver gives (but they also won't look at our damages either) and even though every witness account contradicts the uninsured driver version and backs up the events my son described. I'm not sure what more I can do other than keep begging someone, anyone to look at the evidence honestly because Geico refuses to. They expect the police to figure it out, the police refuse to investigate the accident because it happened on a weekend when their accident investigators were off work and there were no injuries (although the uninsured driver now claims there were) and keep saying that Geico will investigate. Everyone just wants to pass the buck. No one wants to actually investigate or look at the actually evidence. It doesn't matter what evidence I find because I am considered bias.

But if Geico were to actually do their jobs, an insurance adjuster would actually investigate. But they are not even sending anyone to the area. Instead they have a woman that is rarely even in the office because she is always out sick who is listening to the uninsured driver and reading the police report which is based only on the uninsured driver's statement and nothing else. It states my son T-Boned her from a parking lot, yet there is no damage to the direct front of our Blazer, only the front side of it and all witnesses agree the impact happened on the road in front of the daycare driveway a few hundred feet East.

The pieces of the Blazer were found in the driveway of the daycare, even though he had just left the shopping center to the West of the daycare center. But the officer never even went to the scene of the accident, only to where the uninsured driver finally decided to stop which was quite some distance away. My sons actually thought she was running at first because she went so far, passing driveways, before finally stopping. But Geico doesn't care about any of this because this isn't the story the uninsured driver gives or the police report states (which is based solely on the uninsured driver's story on the day of the wreck - including no injuries).

My parents, who are 89 and 91 were at a dead stop and hit by a man going approx. 40-45 mph. This drove their car into the back of the car in front of them. My parents were both taken to the hospital by ambulance. Luckily, their injuries were not life threatening but they were injured badly. The lower airbags on their car went off. The impact was so hard that my dad's hat ended up in the rear dash, it knocked my mom's hearing aids out, and their lower legs were mutilated because of the airbags. I could go on and on.

My complaint is the way they are handling the case. They continue to NOT pay up even though their guy was cited and determined to be the cause of the accident. The police report lays it right out. My parents have a lawyer and even their lawyer is having problems with them. They continue to make excuses, dodge calls, not return voicemails, and ignore 3 letters that were sent to them. They went as far as to send my parents a letter stating they were fighting it because they said my mom caused the accident by hitting the car in front of them first, causing their guy to hit the back of my parents car.

My mom was all upset and crying. She's 89 with heart issues. They're playing with people's lives to try to get out of paying a claim. This absolutely makes me sick. I will never ever get their insurance. In fact, a family friend is a policyholder and is dropping them because of the way they are handling this whole thing. I doubt my complaint will do a thing but if one person drops them because of my complaint I will get a little satisfaction. Don't ever ever get Geico. There are a lot of companies out there that will treat you with respect instead of trying to weasel their way out of paying an elderly couple what they deserve.

On November 29, five days later I got a call and said they cannot cover me as I have an FR-44. Why couldn’t they tell me this on the 24th one I made for payment of six months of over $3000! Their customer service has no skills. I don’t know who trains them or where they are trained! They are very unknowledgeable about anything. I should’ve just stayed with Progressive which I am and I am going to pay the difference which is a total of $4900 for both my vehicles and full coverage.

Don’t try to save a penny people with Geico. Are used to have Geico many years ago, and I couldn’t remember why I canceled my insurance with them, well now I remember. They are horrible and I am not the only one that says this. With this said, I spoke to supervisor and he said he would put the money back on my debit card the same day which was November 29, 2017. The only thing I got back was $45 so far. I wouldn’t have minded if they said it takes three weeks, or three months but don’t tell me a lie and say it will be on your debit Card the same day! Very unsatisfied. I have spoken to several people and they have said Geico by far is not the best insurance.

GEICO suddenly raised my car insurance rates by 50% due to a relocation of about 80 miles. Naturally I went in search of a more cost effective policy. I found one that was back to the rate that GEICO was at before the move. I paid for 6 months in advance with my new policy for an even bigger discount. However, this depleted my account that is specific to bill pay. I called and canceled my GEICO policy and made sure to specifically address with the customer service rep that I would not be charged again by GEICO which she confirmed.

Sure enough, we looked at our account a few days later and they had charged us. Fate would have it, I had 3 small bills come through that would have been covered had GEICO not charged me that ended up causing me overdraft fees. When I called GEICO, they coincidentally could not find the recording of the call, and would do absolutely nothing to take responsibility and help me with the charges they had caused. I get that I should have extra in my account, and I normally do, that is why I had enough to pay for 6 months of the new policy. However, I separate my bank accounts to keep bills, home, spending, etc separate in order to streamline my bills and avoid this kind of mess.

I have had insurance with GEICO for many years and have always received wonderful and timely service. Whenever I need their service, the representatives are always courteous and helpful. I recently had a car accident and called to file a claim. Their response was very quick and handled very professionally. GEICO took care of everything from a repair shop close by and a rental car. They also contacted me frequently to keep me abreast of my claim.

I received a notice from GEICO that my premiums were going up 20% so I looked on my policy to try and find some coverages to save on. I found I could increase my comprehensive deductible. So I increased my deductible for my next renewal since my current policy was paid in full. GEICO immediately charges for any increase in coverage but does nor refund if you decrease coverage. Nor do they notify you that you have decreased your coverage in writing.

The point is since GEICO sent me a premium increase - that caused me to search their policy for savings and drive my decision to increase my deductible for my next renewal. Instead they implemented the charge effective immediately due to a “preselected” apply switch on their App. This is very misleading and confusing to any user. This is a very bad company with even worse customer service. They have no patience or understanding of human nature or natural response. I would not recommend using this “machine” of a company.

I was with this company for TEN YEARS. Now, I had a problem with someone else, and they DROP ME. Goodbye! I manage the insurance for a 25k employee company in which most people travel... So some sales guy/girl will be having a talking to after we figure this all out. 1 problem, they drop us. Guess we need a "like a good neighbor". Just my opinion, though.

Customer Service is excellent! They are exceptionally inexpensive, too. I had been contacted by so many insurance companies and all of them had rates that were so much higher than Geico.

I normally do not waste my time upon creating accounts to review a business, however, the poor and coercive attitude I received from a sales rep with Geico has pushed me to do something. As anyone does we call around to receive the best auto insurance quote based on our circumstances. Especially being the I've been away for a year due to military training.

The sales rep tried multiple times to retrieve my routing and bank information as I told her numerous times I will be calling around other insurance companies as well. "To be frank with you, what are you waiting for? Are you really going to call around all day and waste your time to see if another company can do what we do? What is your routing and bank name so we can get this done today." "Yes ma'am. I am. Have a great day. Goodbye." Just plain rude. No one wants to feel like they're being pushed into something they really don't want to do. Especially when I received quotes from other companies with lower rates and better coverage. Will not recommend Geico to any other service member, family, or friend.

I noticed a damage to my car when it was parked, I was not having the full coverage that time. I called in GEICO and got the collision coverage and comprehensive added to the policy so that I would have at least damages covered for my car. It was good that I got the coverage added to my car, as the very next day my car was again hit in parking lot and this time the damage was severe, the front grill was broken. As I got the coverage added lately and I was not having any documented proof to prove the differences in the damage that occurred on the first and second incident. They have made my life hell, by asking so much questions and details as if like I am cheating on them. It was just a mere coincidence that I got the coverage added to my car and the very next day my car was again hit by someone.

They do not value the customers at all and just trying to prove the point from their end and somehow trying to avoid paying the claim amount. I am seriously pissed off with the service that GEICO provides and really unhappy with the way they are treating me for this normal claim. I hope someone could take strong action against these guys and make them learn a lesson about how they should treat customers.

My insurance is very high with very little coverage. My car is twenty five years old and I am in my late sixties. "Is this because I am older and have an older car?" I have asked Geico and they tell me it's the zip code. I have friends with new cars and their insurance is just about the same cost. They do not have the same company, though.

I went with these ** because they were cheaper, things went great as long as I didn't file a claim. This kid backed up and tore the hell out of my front driver side quarter panel. He had no insurance, no license. I called claims. They wanted to know this guy's insurance comp. Real nice. Real helpful. When informed that the driver didn't have coverage, they told me as far as I was concerned that I was not covered for collision and they could not repair my car!

I have had full coverage with my past insurance comp. for 40 + years. Why the hell would I not have it with GEICO. I even had another car added. When I told them I have had full coverage they said I did not. GEICO is a total scam and sham. They will cover you as long as you don't file a claim!!! On the paperwork I get from them they tell you what is covered and not covered and nowhere is there anything mentioned that collision was not covered. Full coverage means everything!!! Now I have a car that I will have to pay for around 4500.00 to 6000.00 in damages. Not to mention have to file a suit against this guy and his dad. Do NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THESE CON ARTIST!!! ONE VERY PISSED PERSON.

When I was in need of getting my insurance, it was a right now situation, 6 months pay and 6 month off. Great value. They have compare their rates to the national rates and match too. I like their willingness to help with any confusion you may have and they're just so nice and understand of your needs.

They were good to work with & patient with me in going over costs of 2 vehicles I was interested in buying & helped me make decision on which to buy. Saved $ over others I checked out and got better coverage too.

I purchased a wrecker, took it to the agency to get full coverage on everything! They took pictures wrote policy for full coverage! Thats was little over three years ago. Well my truck was vandalized. They put crap in gas, engine, wrecker hydraulic tank, its totaled repair. Bill was over 23000 dollars, well now Geico says my truck was covered only not the wrecker bed! They want to pay me 7100 for a 24000 dollar truck! Now get this only if bed stays on the truck!! I looked at copart and AIAA insurance auctions wreckers like mine. Not running. Still brings between 10 to 16 thousand! So Geico just a bunch of damn thieves!! The adjuster said, "I will settle up with your bank since you owe less and take the truck!" Bank will do this to make them whole and not to lose money! Told them where he could go! YEAH HAD TWO OTHER CARS DAMAGED THEY TOTALED. TOOK OVER TWO MONTHS TO GET CHECKS ON THEM!

I had previous claims filed with GEICO and unfortunately you save on the policy premium but you end up paying at the end with a lower value on the vehicle should an accident occur or shortchanging you with used parts if your vehicle needs to be repaired. They have Subpar service overall as compared to other Insurers.
