My son wrecked his truck on dec 17th 2008. On every statement I have, ins is paid a month in advance.. According to my policy, I pay from the 22nd of the month to the 21 of the next month. Like I paid 196.00 on dec 19th which paid me from Dec 22nd to Jan 21st 2009.
They have denied our claim saying it was cancled. yet when we paid nov it was for nov 22nd to dec 21st....please explain this to me. One when I paid the Ins bill on the 19th of Dec. they took my money which paid me from dec 22nd to jan 21st. yet there saying my ins cancled on the 17th of dec. To me, instead of paying for a month in advance, I am only paying for 3 wks of ins. Not a full 30 days. I have never recived refunds and until now I have never had any issues with farmers. As long as I dont have any accidents from 17th to the 22nd. I am ok, But they are stealing from me, they do not refund the extra week where they cancle. I have paid for 30 days not 3 weeks, Is this legal. My son was in the Marines for 4 years, and drove a 22,000 dollar truck....now its sitting totaled, his first accident and they have denied the claim due to it being in cancelation status...they are stealing my money. They took my payment for Dec 22nd to Jan 21 of 2008, yet i have never recived any refund.....from dec 17th to dec 22nd and get charged a late fee every month im late but never go over the 22nd. How can they cancle your ins before your 30 days you have paid for are up...This is insaine

I have switched my insurance company to Geico and I sent a letter to Farmers Insurance of cancelling my account (Month of May). But they kept trying to bill me and the collector agency is attempting to bill me. The collector agency advised me to send them proof of me switching auto insurance during month of May. I called Geico and they sent them proof of me being insured during the month of May. Although documents was sent, they still continued calling me.

Farmers Insurance customer Grant ** Rear-ended my daughter and we had medical bills galore. They (Farmers) would not pay for it. We took them to small claims and WON. They appealed and again We won, FARMERS LOST!!!!! It has been over a year and a half and we still have not seen any money from Farmers or Farmers attorneys nor the man who rear-ended her. Our credit, my daughter and myself, has been thrashed as no bills have been paid due to this rear-end accident where Grant ** Hit my daughter, and clearly his fault as in accident reports and damage to the car. Farmers refuse to pay medical and all the other bills that are associated with a rear end accident, ambulance, doctor visits, X-rays, etc, etc...

Car accident. Farmers client drove car, hit my child on school park lot. Farmers client drove a car hit two students in high school parking lot from their behind, the students suffered a lot of pain and their family paid out a lot for the car accident. However, Farmer just offers medical bill and general damage. They ignored our family loss and child mental and future loss. Please help me how to file a complaint or sue this company.

    1. Medical expense: the medical bill, almost $3000 (Farmer insurance will offer $3000).

    2. Pain and suffering: A car hit my child from behind and throw him 1-2 m in the ground in 2006. A bodily injury had occurred (bleeding, School and Policeman asked an emergency Ambulance. The blood pressure is over 140, leg shaking etc). Several days even weeks, felt pain on his leg, back, waist and arms. (Farmer Insurance will compensate general damage $ 2000)

    3. Mental anguish: After car accident, my child often fright to walk, go to school, driving car, out of home, noise; Anxiety in learning, studying, sleeping, body pain; Nervousness in the school, learning, tests and quiz; Worry on walking, driving, car, out of home and learning driving; Embarrassment on activity, school ground, contact classmates and communication; Scared of car, individual activity. Did not sleep well, and can't focus on study, hard to learn driving due to nervousness and worry, these might affect work and study in future. There is obviously mental loss and will affect his future for learning, work and life (Farmer Insurance don't compensate this).

    4. Medical surveillance: Did X-ray and other in hospital, which might result in harmful effects in future due to the car accident (Farmer do not compensate this).

    5. Ride cost: The Car accident resulting in him fright to walk and go to school. Parents have to stop our business and work to drop him off to school and pick him up from school (cost $5/time or $10/day, we try to ask someone to do this, but nobody like to do this with this price, the cost is around $5000 based on 200 school day/per year for 3 years. This loss is over $5000) (Farmer Insurance do not offer a dime for this).

    6. Tutor cost: Due to car accident, he can't focus on listen and learning in the school, his grade dropped. Parents have to ask tutors for his school course on Chemistry, Math, and English etc, (a total cost over $5000), but his grade did not recover to original level too (this loss is $5000) (farmer Insurance do not offer any compensation for this).

    7. Grade dropping: Due to car accident effect, he fright to learn honor course, he have to select low level and easy courses for him (before selected honor course), but his score still did not improve, some grade are C or GPA drop from 3.5 to 3.0. (lost his future and good college, the loss is over several hundred thousand dollars, we will evaluate the loss due to the accident resulting in, after he finish high school if you agree to setup the case later), please help me to estimate the loss?(Farmer do not offer any for this).

    8. Family Anxiety: Since Dec 2006, I wrote and called to you ask to change representative, but nobody response to this and followed up this claim until April 2008. You don't care about the case and our feeling, and let our family feel anxiety. I try to find if there is discrimination in this case because former representative told me that you just gave a medical compensation and didn't follow up the case although he promised to follow up once for one month, it lets our family always worry about lose the compensation, and scared to bring him to hospital for further check due to worry about you do not approve (Farmer don't care this).

    9. Parents loss: For caring and taking him to hospital, his father took two-three days off, the loss should be $300-500/day, total $ 800-1000, his mother took more than week off (stop her business), the loss should be $700-1000 based on her business and not including other lose due to car accident resulting in (this loss is around $2000), (Farmer do not compensate any for this).

    10. Future loss: In future loss including affecting his work, looking for job, losing good college etc ????(Farmer doesn't care this).

    11. Disfigurement: Sacred to learn driving and drive, resulting in hard to find job, or a lot of other lose (Farmer doesn't care this).

    12. For physical recovery inspection, Farmer doesn't guarantee to compensate.

Farmer only like to offer total $5000-5700 for the car accident, they did not consider any family and kid future loss. How I can do this to protect my child. Any suggestions and helps will be appreciated.

I am totally disgusted with Farmers ....Easy Pay system. I pay my auto/home insurance "IN FULL" annually via my credit card. For some reason, Farmers allocates it on a monthly basis. I do not get the allocation amounts sent to me. I cancelled my policy the end of Aug.......two of my policies renew in October and they said I had no refund coming. After I called and complained............they sent me a check for .24. You have to be kidding.

Their EasyPay System is a joke. I never received an annual renewal invoice.....only a threat to cancel my policies if I didn't pay. I hate this company and would not recommend the to anyone..............EVER!

I am making this complaint due to the outrage, and time spent with Farmers Insurance Agent Thomas M. His lack of business ethics is dispicable. We paid our insurance bill via internet. We confirmed that our payment has been received the following day. Shortly after we receive a notice saying our policy has been cancelled due to a return of check. Surprised to hear because we did not pay by check. We then spoke with numerous representatives, and supervisors each telling us to call a different number and explain our case to someone else. This getting us nowhere and going in circles.

After having spoken with our agent and confirming that we will cancel our insurance policy. Then receive another bill from farmers insurance. We call the agent and asked why we received that bill, and he said that the insurance had to be extended because it was not cancelled. We kept fighting and debating over this issue. This was a total waste of time because they would not understand. Finally he tells us that we have to send a letter stating that we have to cancel our policy for it to be cancelled. Like I stated we had to speak to numerous agents and were finally forced to pay so that our credit was not ruined. We are sickened by the ethics of this company.

Had to pay for the mistakes of that agent.

On Aug 15, 2008, my car was struck in the parking lot of my job. I immediately called Farmers Help Point and gave my side of things. The person at the other end of the line insisted that I get the other driver's personal and professional insurance. However the other driver didn't speak english. He had friends with him telling him not to give me the info. It finally took a police officer to get his ID and insurance info.

Farmers did set up a tow truck and rental, and did let me send my car to a farmers approved body shop. That's where the problems begin. It took almost two weeks to fix the car. Mr rental car was taken back in half that time. Further more, because my rental car was taken back too soon, I missed medical appointments, I just plain didn't have a way to get things done waiting for my car.

Due to financial hardships I wasn't, and still can't make my deductable. It was either pay the deductable or miss a house my payment. When I brought this to the attention of an adjuster, not the one named here, she told me that I was responsible for the deductable. I called the body shop, I even e-mailed the head of the body shop and pleaded my case. I was given two weeks to pay and $40 a day storage there after. When someone else offered to pay the deductable, the body shop wouldn't take the payment if it wasn't from me. It had to be cash or cashier's check. I did get a call from Michelle stating that they found the other party at fault and would be pursuing litigation. I asked if my deductable would be paid, but I was told the same thing.

I don't have a way to get around. I can't pursue employment. Not to mention the two weeks is almost up and the $40 a day begins. I have medical issues to tend to and without a car, which is fixed and waiting, and I can't attended to them. Michelle hasn't returned my recent calls. I don't know what to do. I feel like my car and life have been put on hold. I'm lost.

Re: auto policy negligence and mishandling. Aside from many other details, the main point is that I requested in writing and taped VM msg because I could get no one on the phone from my local agent's office, to cancel my policy effective 8/1/08. I did not receive a response to this request.

When I finally caught my agent in his office one week later, he confirmed to me the policy was cancelled. I requested this confirmation in writing. No response following our discussion. I follow up with him in writing email each day afterward, still no response. Finally after 5 days of requesting this information, I contacted the DM office and to my surprise, found out the policy had not been cancelled. And still no word on my refund amount (one of the issues) from being overcharged in my premiums.

To date, this policy remains in effect, in spite of my efforts to cancel and no information on issuance on the refund I am owed. thank you.

When I have canceled this insurance, this agency did not explain about early cancellation fee. She should explain about that.

This was my first contract of auto insurance in U.S. I had no idea about cancellation fee. So, I made a phonecall to my ex-agency, and she said that no other company would tell me about that. How can she say like that? I want them to revoke the cancellation fee.

The farmers want me to pay $68.57. This is really big money for an international student.

I had a car accident on 06/10/08, I was not at fault, a car skid and crossed my lane sideways and I hit it on the side. I immediately filed a claim with Farmers Insurance, and they told me that an investigator would work on the case and contact me within the next business day. It has been 2 business days now and my investigator didn't call me nor do I have any informations about the process, progress or at least what to do. When I try to call his desk he seems to be on vacation.

I then called my agent that I had emailed with no answer, and she said that she could not reply within the minute (which respectable business does not reply to email within 1 and a half business day?), that she was with a client. She was pretty rough saying that she was at lunch, and since I had liability only my car was not covered (all I asked was to settle the claim and have other party's insurance talk with me, since they re at fault) and she would ask for a adjsutor to call me on my cell. I am still waiting for that call...

In the meantime my car (which is totalled) is at a body shop with storing fees increasing everyday, and nobody to tell me if it's need to be inspected before I get rid of it. If you ever consider Farmers Insurance please, look around somewhere else. They re very nice to sell you their services but if you ever have an accident (even now you re not at fault) they ll play dead, or rude if you try to resurrect them...

Increasing storing fees, increasing stress due to their lack of professionalism

After receiving a notice of non-renewal for our auto insurance policy and the option to continue service with Mid Century Insurance (another company of Farmers). This would be a much higher premium. We got our auto history report that they based this decision on. So we went shopping and the competitive premiums were high throughout. But in the course of research we found a more detailed report from ChoicePoint the company that store houses this information. It showed errors.

Farmers had written two accident reports that were not ours. It took a lot of communicating and when my husband went into the office to tell them to check their computer files the clerk said it wasn't showing these errors. Then he looked again and found them. So they acknowledged it was their mistake. They said it would be corrected and that a new reduced premium would be quoted. We have email stating the new amount. More time to communicate and process with ChoicePoint. After receiving a revised report it still shows one error with Farmers again claiming it is correct. These reports affect competitive insurance quotes. Until it is fully cleared up we can't get fair quotes from other companies to leave Farmers.

We were put into a stressful position of finding new insurance at hopefully an affordable rate due to Farmers' errors. Also money was automatically taken from our account at the highest adjusted premium rate due to these errors. The credit they finally issued does not add up to the correct premium the agent claimed we would be paying if we stayed with their company. It has taken business time away from both my husband and myself in dealing with the company for two months. And things still aren't fully resolved.

I was in a car accident on April 23rd, 2008. I was driving westbound on a two lane street (one for the westbound traffic and another one for the easbound traffic). The other driver was a distance away in front of me. She stopped along the curb and as I got closer she suddenly made an illegal u-turn in front of me. My car collided with hers and it spinned out of control and it finally stopped on the opposite lane. It seemed that I was driving eastbound.

I only had Liability Insurance. The other driver told me that she had 'full coverage' and admitted to me and to our insurance (we both have Farmers) that she made an illegal u-turn. She was not injured nor was I. She was able to driver away in her car. My car was towed. I no longer have a car and I have been renting one ever since.

I had a physical the evening of that same day. The physical was a joke, it took about five minutes. I didn't have any x-rays. Farmers is offering me minimal compensation. I can't buy another car with what they are offering me. Even though I had a 1993 Honda Civic, I at least had a car. I am also concerned about my physical well-being. I feel fine, except for a 'twitch' on my right shoulder. I'm afraid that something might physically come up in the future. I have not given them a statement since when I met with their adjuster she forgot her tape recorder. I welcome and would appreciate some advice. Thank you so much.

My wife has been struggling with back pain for 5 years and was recently in a car accident; a Wayne County snow plow hit her and dragged her 100 fit into a snow bank. Since the accident, her pain has become intolerable. She is now taking morphine to help the pain; although, it really doesn't help. She spends most of her days in bed with horrible pain. In addition, she also tore her meniscus in her knee along with fluid build up in her knee and hip.

We filed a claim and were seen by some insurance doctor who evaluated her for an entire 15 minutes. We were recently notified by Farmers that they would not cover her wage loss or medical bills because her back pain was pre-existing. How does some [one] determine this from 15 minutes of ridiculous questions? She has 5 years of medical reports and multiple doctors who say otherwise - that the accident DID worsen her back and also caused the tear in her knee and the fluid buildup in her knee and hip. This is completely disgusting and these insurance companies are THIEVES. This is America; people should not have to tolerate this kind of treatment, nor should corporations be allowed to Steal from people. The government allows this giant, multi-billion dollar SCAM to continue and it makes me SICK.

As a result of the accident and constant pain, my wife had to leave her job. I am now trying to support my wife and child on a single income and also have to pay ridiculous amounts of money for medical bills and prescriptions. Also, because my wife was forced to leave her job, we no longer get a discount on child care and owe an extra $1000 dollars. In addition, I have to take time off from a job where I make much of my money on commission. It sure will be tough to make commission when I am not at work. My wife is now having a spinal fusion on her back and most likely will be unable to work for sometime. THIS WHOLE THING MAKES ME WANT TO SNAP AND STRANGLE THE ** THAT ARE FARMERS INSURANCE. How can they possibly say that the accident did not cause this when she has to have a ** SPINAL FUSION???

I stopped by the shop to pick up a few items and asked about the damage, I spoke with Steve, who told me they were very busy and had the most cars being worked on compared to other body shops. Also, that I was luck y to have an appointment the next morning due to a cancellation. I than made several phone calls on Tuesday, trying to find out more information and after the third call, spoke with Danny who sent me the report via a fax. I was told by Danny, that the car would be worked on starting on Monday April 21, 2008, I questioned the week later start date and again was told how busy they were and needed to order parts. The first set of papers I received the total was around $3,800.00, including a $500.00 deductible.

On Monday April 21,2008, I was contacted by Wade Hughes Farmers Insurance Adjuster around 3:30 PM. Mr. Hughes started the conversation, I need to ask you a few things about your car! The vehicle has motor mouth damage , and various other damage and I can see this vehicle coming back for more repairs, I wont feel comfortable fixing it. ( last statement not a quote, general statement) Stating, how hard the vehicle was hit on the drivers front. I stated that I agreed, that my brother said to me, if the insurance company would total the car, go for it. I also stated that I was not worried about the amount and had Gap Insurance! Mr Hughes said he needed to run this by his boss on Tuesday April 22, 2008 and I would hear from him first thing in the morning. I contacted Mr Hughes around 10:00 am on April 22,2008 and it was like speaking with a different person.

Mr Hughes, started the conversation with 'we are going to fix the vehicle! I was floored, how does car go from being totaled one day and fixable the next? I am very concerned about how the car will be when it is fixed and how safe the vehicle will be if ever the same. I did state to Mr Hughes, so your telling me this auto will be worth nothing after its fixed, Mr Hughes stated oh no it will be as good as new, we use OEM parts. I am extremely concerned that Mr Hughes supervisor is concerned with cost and not the safety or future ramifications of this auto!

I have filed a complaint with the Virginia State Insurance commission, they have told me they will investigate this matter completely. This letter will be part of my complaint statement used against Farmers Insurance. I would appreciate it, if someone from the corporate office could look into this matter as well and get in touch with me. On Monday April 22, 2008 at 3:40 I was told My vechile was reccommended for being totaled. On Tuesday April 23, 2008 at 10 am I was told after a meeting with the adjusters boss the vechile will be fixed. I feel that it is a cost issue and not a saftey issue, that the supervior is basing this on.

It has been a year and a half and Farmer's has still not settled a claim for us. After a car accident, with other party at fault, they denied part of the damage coverage. In addition to body damage, our transmission was damaged due to our car being hit from behind when we were at a dead stop at a red light. Kyle Duncan said they were going to deny the claim on the internal damage unless otherwise proven by our mechanic. Our mechanic who specializes in European cars (of which ours is a mercedes) confirmed that the damage done to the transmission was a direct result of being hit from behind. We have a very detailed report from him.

After the fact, they sent out one of their ''neutral party'' experts to do yet another evaluation. (who has not returned my calls to this day!) Come to find out he has known Kyle Duncan's supervisor pretty well for years and they seem to be pretty tight. Of COURSE as we expected, he was sent out for us only to receive a denial of our claim once again. So, we requested that we hire another party to come out to investigate, being that we had a feeling their 'neutral' party was not very neutral at all. They agreed. His report matched up with our mechanics report and completely discredited the report written by the person that Farmers hired. There were TOO many falsities in their report. So, when we talked with Farmers, they had said that the 2 experts would have to get together to come to an agreement, and that if they couldn't, we would have to split the costs. In the end, the guy Farmers hired never called back the specialist We hired, and no agreement was ever arrived at. SO, we have tried to contact Farmers regarding this claim to no avail. They will not return our phone calls at all.

Our Mercedes is still not repaired after a year and a half of sitting in our driveway not running. We were forced to finance another vehicle, which has been a HUGE financial hardship on us. I'm sure there is close to $9,000 to $12,000 of damages on our car that have yet to be fixed.

The agent made several clerical mistakes, would not follow through on promises, got basic info wrong and did not return phone calls. Because of Paul's incompetency, my husband switched insurance companies on 8/27/07. Our new insurance agent made several phone calls to Paul to get him to cancel the insurance. Paul did not take care of it, despite promises to do so. Farmers billed us another $42.20 through 9/30/07, then sent it to a collection agency. I emailed Paul the info and he emailed me back that HE WOULD TAKE CARE OF IT and update me again the following day and the following week until we were confident it was fixed. I haven't heard from him since and we received a second notice from the collection agency for a time period that should not have been billed in the first place.

I am trying to explain the situation to a mean collector who refuses to listen and we are still getting billed for a time period that I refuse to pay on principle because we do not owe it.

We canceled our auto insurance with him on or before 9/20/07 because he had told us he was going to cancel us because my son was going to stay with us awhile. We told him that our son had his own insurance for his car and would not drive our cars. This was not good enough for the agent, so he sent us a cancelation notice. We told him we would have to get insurance elsewhere. This should have been the end of it, but now I get a collection notice from a service for $74.72. I called the Farmers Insurance agent to ask him to fix it, and he said he will not. I was paid up with Farmers until 10/3/07.

Now I have a bad mark on my credit from this. As my agent at the time, he needd to fix this. I did tell him I will turn him into you and sue him in small claims, and he said to do what ever--that he does not have to fix it.

On Aug. 14, 2007 my 14-yr-old son was hit by a man insured with Farmers. They interviewed him over the phone. Justin Ezel was assigned to look into the matter since their client was at fault. After calling his voicemail daily since end of August and having talked personally, no action has been taken to date. I gave him the number of the witness who was at the scene, too, but absolutely no action. Wrote to the Farmers insurance group, also, in vain.

Damages are as follows: 1) Eye glasses worth $300 2) Bicycle worth $800 3) Medical expense in getting him checked on accident day 4) His loss of confidence in riding the bike to school and my expense of gas in dropping him off daily now.

I switched to Farmers Insurance Co. for my auto insurance because they offered a cheaper rate than State Farm Ins. whom I had been with for 30 years.

When after 2 months Farmers raised my premium by $71.10 (I was paying monthly). They advised me this increase was due to the fact I did not provide them with proof of previous insurance (which I had). I then sent them another copy of my previous insurance card which included effective dates, vin number, my name, etc. At this point I cancelled the insurance and went back to State Farm. Farmers continued to send me a bill for the 71.10. I called them several times and finally had State Farm send them a letter to show I had prior insurance coverage.

They then turned the 71.10 over to a collection agency. I have excellent credit (or did have) and this really upset me. I was tired of trying to get them to stop billing me so I just paid the 71.10. I am very angry that this company can take money they are not due. I am not a wealthly person and I would really like to have my 71.10 refunded.

On May 2006, I was standing on the red light when all of the sadden I got hit from the behind by the United States Secret Service people. I been told that I need to go throw my insurance company to fix my car, and then the money will be given back to me, as the accident was not my fault at all. In December 2006 the letter came from Farmers Insurance to sign me up for another 6 months with them, that's what I did...I wrote a check to Farmers for almost $700 for the Insurance of my car till June 2007. Then all of a sudden, on January 12, 2007, I receive a letter from Farmers saying that my insurance went up because off the accident, as I was not insured in the car.

I received correspondence from my mortgage lender that there was no record of flood insurance and I needed to have coverage implemented. I immediately contacted my home insurance agent, Mr. Brian V of Farmers Group Insurance. Mr. V advised me that he received a notice as well and could not implement a flood policy without an Elevation Certificate. When I questioned how to go about getting an Elevation Certificate, he responded, I have a contact person that could come and do the assessment of your home for a fee. I asked him how much would this cost me, his reply was It will be up to the guy, he will let you know. I was a bit suspicious about this so I contacted the California Department of Insurance Fraud Division and was advised that an Elevation Certificate could be obtained at my local City Hall for free. I followed up with City Hall of Suisun and was given the certificate at no cost to me.

I was instructed by the Fraud Rep to delay cancellation of my homeowner's insurance with Farmers to allow time for an investigation. In the meantime, my mortgage company implemented a flood policy through their insurance department without verification of an Elevation Certificate. I feel very frustrated with this as I no longer trust my insurance agent and now feel leary of being taken advantage of by other insurance companies. As instructed, I continue to maintain my homeowners policy with Farmers.

My truck was totalled and adjustor Bechtel told me repeatedly the loan was 'paid-in-full', in a 3-way conference call with the creditor. This should have been recorded, but they claim not, now. The creditor now says the loan is not paid fully, now. Bechtel admits his error. He had assured me, and I need to contact someone. I have the name of his boss.

Creditor says I still owe $4000.
