I have had auto/home insurance with Farmers for 15 years. With few if any claims I have been responsible for. In all auto related issues concerning disputes my Farmers agent in Santa Rosa consistently took the side of the company. The customer service has gone downhill over the 15 years. Recently my agent informed me I would be paying a increased premium for my Subaru WRX 5door hatchback. He said it was in a "performance/sports car" category. When I requested Farmers policy documentation details indicating a list of "performance/sports car" data it was not provided. When I contacted the Farmers District Manager he also refused to provide the information. I have an outstanding driving record. Assigning an extra insurance premium on my Subaru has nothing to do with my record. Cars do not break the law! People do! The "performance/sports car" category has nothing to do with my driving record.

Farmers Auto Insurance created that category for the purpose of increasing profits for the company. I requested documentation that Farmers would have to provide to the California Department of Insurance in approval of the "performance/sports car" category. Farmers failed to respond or provide information. I now have a formal complaint filed with the Ca. Dept. of Insurance against Farmers for non-disclosure and being in violation of corporate law related to lack of transparency. I would suggest that people never do business with Farmers Auto Insurance company. The complaints against them are substantial.

I've been working with Michael ** from Farmers Insurance for the last 2 weeks and HE'S THE ABSOLUTE WORST. 2 weeks ago one of their insured hit me when he ran a stop sign at an intersection, doing significant damage to my car. The front passenger side was completely bent in, leaving a big gap with an air bubble. I called them and asked them to send someone over to do an estimate and Michael told me they don't usually do that unless the car isn't driveable, that I'd have to go to a shop and have them do it. I tried to explain to him that the car ISN'T driveable, that I just don't feel safe driving it in its current state but he just didn't care and insisted I had to bring it to a shop to get an estimate.

I finally found a shop that could accommodate my schedule and location and they took a look at my car and told me I need to call Farmers and tell them to give me a rental, because this car isn't driveable. Only then did Michael set me up with a rental. After I got my rental from Enterprise, they told me that Farmers refused to cover my damage waiver on the rental because my insurance already covers a lot of that. I called Michael and asked that Farmers cover my damage waiver and surprise surprise, he said they don't usually do that. I pointed out that the accident was 100% their driver's fault and he said OK, they'll cover my damage waiver but first I have to get my insurance company to fax them a copy of my declaration.

I spent the next 2 days running around making sure all the appropriate documents were sent over (with Michael giving me the runaround repeatedly), and finally he called me and informed me that they won't be covering my damage waiver because my own insurance company already covers a lot of that. I'm so appalled at the way Farmers has treated me. They've just made everything as difficult for me as possible, and Michael is all smiles and politeness on the surface but really has no sense of decency whatsoever. He's not even professional by auto-insurance standards. (And that's saying a lot!) If I incur any financial damages from this experience I fully plan to sue them.

I switched to Farmers several years ago because State Farm wouldn't pay a claim on my house that my neighbors, who had other insurance companies, got paid for with the same damage. My son had a small at fault accident a couple of years ago, and I also had an at fault accident a year ago. Our rates went up slightly, but minimally. For the few preceding years, our rates stayed the same. We shop rates every year, and Farmers has come in number one every time. Sometimes they're close, but always the best price. I have a house and 4 vehicles on our policy.

Having been with Farmers Insurance for less than a year, I have already had half a dozen bad experiences. Most recently, my Homeowners Policy was somehow cancelled. The mistake was recognize, and promises were made to reconcile the issue. A month later, I received a final notice from my mortgage company stating that no action had yet been taken. Farmers has been derelict in their responsibilities. I signed up with the understanding that I would have a personal agent, close by. That has not been the case. The auto policy was supposed to be cheaper than what I had been paying. After signing up and cancelling my auto policy, it turned out the underwriter disagreed with the agent and we had to make changes. It has been nothing but one nightmare after another. After it was too late, my wife did a study. It turns out, Farmers Insurance has one of the lowest customer satisfaction ratings in the country.

I have had a terrible experience with Farmers. On a home policy, they refused to pick up the bill when my car was broken into the driveway. Turns out, my girlfriend didn't have my name on the house policy... but I was living there and not a visitor... so they denied a claim when I lost a $4,000 camera. It's like they do anything not to pay. I'm dumping them asap.

Had a house fire. 2 days later I still have not heard from my insurance adjuster. I have called the claims # to start a claim, I was told the ins. adjuster would contact me asap... This never happened, so I call again and get the same runaround. Call a 3rd time and they give me more runaround and tell me I have to call the adjuster myself, so I did, no answer and no callback!!! I have no power in my home. I'm living wherever I can, even staying in my house with all the bad smoke fumes etc... I cannot believe that Farmers ins. has put this off like they have, for goodness sakes!!! It is my home. I have insurance and cannot get an adjuster to come here and do what is needed to get my home back in order!!! For shame on this company.

It is incredible that after our accident on Saturday, Farmers put us on hold, and we are stuck in the house. We can't do anything until the Claims Representative returns from Labor Day's weekend on Tuesday, can't Farmers Insurance have someone else to assist us in the meantime? We don't have a second car. Therefore, we are stuck in our house; we can't afford a rental. The claim number is **. I still can't believe we are stuck inside our house like this.

I had an accident during a monsoon kind of rain storm. I was in the middle lane driving correctly for the conditions. Then I went through a flow a water draining off of the roadway that was a three lane highway. When the younger driver came up on the drivers side too fast for conditions and hit the drivers door of the car I was in. After Farmers so called looked into it, they said keep me and boss loses his insurance. As much as he did not want to he had to anyways. Four years on the job plus and Farmers says I need to go. Farmers strong armed my boss into letting me go. They don't like to lose money. If that is the case why are you in the insurance business? Accidents happen. It is life. Deal with it Farmers. So I NEVER will use Farmers insurance. I do not condone strong arm tactics.

My wife just got in an accident about a month ago. Got hit in the back passenger's door next to the rear wheel. I met her at the accident site and try to drive the vehicle to the repair shop could not even get out of the parking lot because the brakes were not working. Called Farmers Insurance. Let them know that they would have to tow the vehicle because it was not drivable with no brakes. They towed the vehicle. Took it to the shop be repaired all the body damage and then told me that the brake problem was an issue before the accident and was not caused by the accident but now all the evidence that could support that position is gone. So I had to pick up my vehicle with no brakes on a trailer. Tow it to a shop to get a new master cylinder put on. So I have a vehicle with brakes before the accident and then after the accident no brakes but then they destroy all the evidence that would support their liability.

No phone call, no email, no letter. Just flat out denied my claim. That is soooo shady. It's in bad faith. And it is soooo frustrating because I only have liability insurance. AAA my insurance says it's not my fault so they don't have to pay. Farmers only paid for their Farmers client because she has comprehensive insurance. That leaves me with my car not repaired the guy who got hit. Farmers need to be investigated by the California Insurance Commission people.

I had been with Farmers for 10 years for auto insurance. Very rude, unprofessional and they jump their prices up and down as they feel like it. Last year started bombing me with letters and urgent emails that I need to update my yearly mileage. When I went to my agent (Sacramento, CA) he ripped the letter and quietly told me, just pretend like you didn't get this letter. "Farmers just wants to charge you more for driving more" he said. I appreciate his honesty, but really? Is this really the best way to conduct business?

When I had my one and only accident (my fault, total damage $3048) they didn't even care to ask if I'm ok... They down-talked to me like to a total loser (well because they lost money of course). Not what you expect after being a loyal customer for 10 years. When my mom left my policy to go to GEICO, they were very rude to her and threatened her that my policy rate will increase significantly, which it did: from paying $78 went to $124 a month. Are you kidding me??? With GEICO I got the same but more coverage for $74 a month.

I just joined ConsumerAffairs just so I could describe the leeches that are Farmers Home Insurance (I know this is Auto Insurance but probably same issues). Anyway, Farmers will rip you off any chance they get and is part of their strategy to make money and drain the American people for profits. Issue: They did not let me know that they will charge a monthly service fee, and depending on support agent not clear at all on how to avoid this fee. This really should be illegal!

They provide your basic insurance charges without any explanation on "fees". Then they do not provide a clear path to resolve the issue (depending on the support person you get). Please be forewarned to ask allot of questions when signing up and keep a close eye on monthly bills. Honestly, I am seriously worried if I file a claim what Farmers response would be. I have no faith in this company. It makes me sad for our country that these type of insurance systems still exist that really help no one and rob already hurting families.

Hence, every time I rented a car, I had to take the rental companies insurance to be one the safe side due to lack of clarity. I recently moved from TX to OR, and my premium was jacked up by $100 just because I added another car. I don't have a single ticket in the last 4 years of my driving history. My insurance rep was nice and she seemed to care but she was the only one. The company policies and regulations are nothing more than a scam. I hope she got a better company to work for. While sitting in park at the smoke shop a woman came flying out of the drive through (the wrong direction) and hit me. After several calls and telling them I would have to get an attorney I was informed they wouldn't pay the claim because both parties involved were Farmers customers. So the claim was never paid and I had to pay the repair bills out of pocket even when she received a ticket for reckless driving.

For what I paid there should have been more options as well as more discounts. Especially with renters and auto insurance. They should be more like Allstate but instead they are like Nationwide. Their jingle is "Nationwide is on your side". I sing "No, they're not. Those jerks sure lied." The coverage, the people (except the one representative), the policies, the premiums, the customer service, and the claims department all need to be changed if they want to be a better company for the people.

I was given a ticket for not maintaining my lane. I had spoke with the adjuster and explained that I would get the ticket off my driving record and not to do anything to pay the other driver till the ticket was removed. This is an email I received from the adjusters: "I have sent you all of the documentation I am able to release at this time; this included the pictures of the other drivers car. At the end of our last conversation, you advised you plan on getting the claim finalized in court

so Asef and I have been waiting to hear what was decided."

They did not wait, they paid her for her damages. Now the court of Atlanta has render me not liable for the accident and yet they still claim I am at 75% at fault stating I cut across in front of her. I have a recording of the other driver stating that when I started going I looked up then tried to change it to I looked up. She is what Georgia calls a Distracted Driver, a fine and ticket. As stated my insurance has the recording with that statement and still claims I am responsible. When as for statements and call records I was denied those records but that's ok. Georgia Commissioner will send me those records and I will get a lawyer to handle my case.

Farmers Insurance did not do their job as my insurance company, supporting the other driver who was insured but did not have collision insurance, and going as far to say they stopped her insurance company from suing me. I did not ask them to do that, what I did ask is that they wait till the court trial was over before they acted. Farmers Insurance is a large company who is full of lazy people who are unable to justified their actions to me openly and honestly, and insist that I am the one at fault and changing their stance on what really happen. I would not have insurance thru Farmers ever again or recommend Farmers to anyone.

Farmer's raised the "replacement" evaluation on my home over 50% last renewal. Valuation went from $97,000 in 2015 to $158,000 for 2016. I waited for the country appraisal and it was $95,000. In the time between the new appraisal and the county appraisal there was a hail storm. Basically the Farmers rep said that their "program" did the appraisal and they would not change the evaluation. Therefore, the premium went up over $500 dollars for the year. Then the Adjuster for the hail loss deducted 1% of the inflated evaluation - another $600 dollars.

After 35 years with Farmer's, I'm done! They got their $1,000 and lost three cars and two houses. In putting the book up for bid I saved $1,300 for the same coverage. The book was bid with three A.M. Best rated A++ companies. Their appraisals for the house ranged from $95,000 to $103,00. Quite simply Framers ripped me off! Beware!

I am the proud owner of a 79 MG midget. It was a very clean car, my pride and joy. One day as I was pulling out of my garage, a woman in a Lincoln navigator drives by, I see her and she goes by safely, I proceed down my driveway. As I get to the end of the driveway I noticed her reverse lights go on, I proceed to put my car in first and drive up my steep driveway, the car stalls, she is still backing up towards me, my car is disabled. I'm stranded, at a stand still, I'm honking my horn. Stop! Stop! She doesn't hear me and plowed into the back of my MG. She apologised and admitted fault, to me and the police officer. The report reflected I'm the victim, she was at fault.

To make a long story short, after submitting a claim thru Farmers Insurance they claim that because I was in my driveway and she was on the road that she had the right away, and they would not be compensating me for my damages. Wow! I'm 44, I've paid insurance all my life to protect me and others, and when I'm hit and need to be made whole again, this wicked unscrupulous company does this to good people. All I can say is what a wicked, selfish unprincipled Farmers Insurance company. I have never written a review in my life unless it was positive. Then again, I don't think I have ever been screwed over so bad by an agent working for a major company like Farmers! Long story short, I was added onto my grandmother's policy for auto insurance (she has had home insurance with them for many years). Our agent Mike acted so polite at first. I called him to clarify the amount of coverage my grandma and I were actually receiving. He had spoke with her first so when I called about this it was the first time Mike and I talked. When he spoke to my grandma he made it sound like it was all full coverage for both our vehicles, but it wasn't. So we talked it over and fixed all the areas that were incorrect.

Luckily my grandmother asked Mike to email us with this quote that we went over together and include the monthly payment and first time payment amount. He emailed us, the amount to be taken out of my account was $234.76. About 2 days later I see that my account has been charged for $314.21. I called Mike and he couldn't seem to give us any solid answers of why he charged me so much. I asked to speak to a manager. And it's him! He owns the business, which is very sad... because when something like this happens you want answers, and when the manager/owner cannot answer these questions, there's a serious problem. SO I continue to ask him, if the amount to be paid was $234.76 then why was I charged so much more? First he says the insurance was $258.00 not $234.76... but I had it right there in writing what we discussed and printed out for our records. He continued to act as if we were miscalculating.

Then he said we called a million times and he has been so nice to us (this guy is supposed to be there to answer questions right?)... I said, "OKAY Mike, even if it was $258.00 (which it wasn't) then what was the other $57 charged." He then tells me he filed an SR22 form on me, which at the time I did not know what that was. He said that because I was in a car accident the year before and I had a point on my license, that I was a high risk driver. Well, I didn't know for sure if this was true since I had never heard of such a thing... so I called another insurance company (Progressive) and the agent told me that in order to have a SR22 form you would have needed to have your license suspense from a DUI or have been pulled over or been in an accident with no insurance. Neither has ever happened to me. Never had any tickets, DUIs or had a car that wasn't fully covered.

The last car I owned was financed from a dealership so it needed to be fully covered. Then I was in a head on collision so I totaled it and for medical reasons (concussion) I couldn't drive for awhile and received a point for the accident. But not for a DUI or no insurance... JUST TO BE EXTRA SURE, I called the DMV. She informed that I DID NOT NEED such a form, and if I did that the DMV would notify me by mail. I called Mike back and explained all this information I had just absorbed. He replied by saying, "Well sounds like you're happy with this other insurance company so you should go with them"... Well, yes Mike... I will... but I'm still wondering what all that extra money that was charged to my account is for? He said the SR22 form is $25, but that anywhere else it is $200-$300 to file. BUT I DON'T NEED TO FILE... so why did he do this without my consent? No answers.

Then I asked that still leaves about $38 bucks that is not accounted for that I was charged... No answers. He then hung up on me and refused to pick up my calls because I was "so upset"... Wouldn't you be upset? Anyway, I had my grandmother call Mike back and ask Mike if he will email the fees he charged us for and also email the reason he filed an SR22 form... He refused to do both saying I was "upset and rude" to him so he will not email anything over. It's my information, I am paying to have this insurance, but he cannot email me the fees and charges...? Not professional, not honest, not right. I cancel the policy that day.

Next morning I find out he charged me TWICE! I was overdrawn by $123.00. I called my bank and filed a claim against it and the pending amount was reversed to my account and the second charge will be reversed in 2 to 3 business days. JESUS. I will never be with Farmers Insurance again simply because of Mike. If you can't be honest about fees and charges or do things legally (like ask consent to be filing forms you shouldn't be filing for $$) THEN don't be an agent, because it looks terrible on the company itself. I sure hope this doesn't happen to anyone else... I suggest another insurance company... or at least not the one in Corona.

I looked back, then out my side mirror before I opened the door: I could see a couple step off the sidewalk to cross, and other people crossing the street I turned and parked on. I opened my door and a bicyclist hit my car at high-speed. I was terrified! I work in health care, so instructed him to put pressure on his cut finger, luckily his only injury. I did all the responsible things.

The bicyclist swerved around the pedestrians crossing the road, ran a red light, and hit my car. Anna ** was the person working on this situation at Farmers, and wouldn't accept that it was his fault, even though I had a witness, and it was in writing. To make it brief, I was not impressed with her intelligence, ability to follow logic, or her intent to document information accurately. The bicyclist had a history of bicycle accidents. Anyway, my insurance paid out and said it was my fault, when it clearly wasn't. I left the company after 12 years as a loyal customer. I went to State Farm, and now I'm paying about half the rate I was at Farmers for the same coverage. I do not recommend them for anything.

Bank of America loan officer as well as Wells Fargo loan officer told me on a recorded conversation that my car, is worth 12 thousand dollars! Farmers said it's worth 5 thousand! After I confronted him about the nada website and that I had done my research, he added # to 7 thousand dollars.

Even when NADA said my car was valued at 8,200 dollars with the average mile of 111,000 thousand, now my car only has 67,000 thousand miles, dealers will sell my car for a easy 15,000 thousand! On November 28th, 2015 my daughters vehicle was stolen. The insurance company was contacted and claim was filed with foremost insurance. We have had very little contact with the insurance adjuster, we were told the claim would go to total loss on Dec 18, 2015 if the car was not found. Which was not true, they have not taken any action at all on the claim, we found out as of 01/06/16, the claim still has not gone to total loss dept. It was communicated to my daughter they need to talk to her brother regarding the theft, they had numerous opportunities to contact him since the claim was originally filed.

My daughter was able to talk to a claims supervisor which placed her on hold initially and hung up on her and she had to keep calling back until the adjuster answered but still no updates, just the run around. This is the worse insurance company imaginable. These people do not return phone calls or provide updates and use stall tactics to delay paying claims. They have the police report and statements but refuse to do their due diligence to resolve this claim. My daughter made a terrible mistake choosing this insurance company, it's not a matter of you get what you pay for, her premiums are ridiculous for no reason, for those who have Foremost-AKA-Farmers-AKA-Bristol, good luck if you ever have to file a claim and expect good service.

I had a car accident on 12/16/2015. Farmers insurance is putting me at fault basically because of what a witness says. The point of impact on my vehicle is on the side of my car. The other driver had opened her rear driver side door into my vehicle as I was driving straight Down the road. But because a witness says her door was open I am being put at fault. Her door impacted my car on the side. There is no possible way I would have been able to throw my car into her door if it was already opened. Evidence of the damage on both vehicles clearly shows that she opened her door into my vehicle. Which should put her at fault.

I feel that the witness that they have is not credible either because I happen to know the witness and didn't have a great relationship with her. I just really feel and know that the other driver opened her door clear into my car and I should at no way have any at fault accident on my record, or should I have to pay her damages. I am very disappointed with the way the claim was handled and I am more disappointed with the outcome.

In regards to my fiance's policy with Farmer's: Two years ago, Farmers didn't care to listen to a witness who said I had a green arrow to turn left, and that the lady who ran into me, ran it on a red. So, I was therefore penalized. This year, I was the one who was going straight, and the other party had a witness saying I ran a red light, to which I did NOT. Farmers now decides to not further investigate, but believe these so-called witnesses.

There were also cameras at this intersection, and they did not pull those videos. I'm now penalized again? For being on the opposite side of the SAME case? I now have to go in and prove my own innocence because they slammed me with a citation that I did not commit. I will be fighting with this idiotic insurance agency until the very end. If I ran that red, I would have more than likely slammed into HIM, like the other lady had done to ME. But they don't care to look at the facts. They won't go out of their way for you. They won't work for YOU. They are lazy, rude, and out for just a quick fix. Their incompetence is your downfall.

I contacted Farmers Insurance to get a quote for auto insurance when my teenage son got his drivers license. At the time, we were insured by State Farm. Once my son got his license the premiums went up by $300 per month so I decided to shop around. I contacted Allstate and Progressive along with Farmers for a quote. Allstate and Progressive were about the same cost as State Farm, but the quote I got from Farmers was same as it was before our son got his license. I even asked the agent, Steve Gawlik, why it was so much less than all the others and he stated that Farmers doesnt penalize new drivers like the others do. I agreed to purchase the policy and after the initial payment was made I was sent a policy and the insurance cards listing myself, my wife and my son as drivers.

Because we were saving over $300 per month we had decided to lease a new car for our son rather than have him drive an old beat up car for obvious safety reasons. Even with the new car listed the premium didnt really change. Everything was fine for the first year, but then I got a notice from Farmers stating our premium was being raised by about $350 per month. When I questioned what the increase was for I was told that my son was never listed on the policy and now that he is a licensed driver we would have to pay the higher premium. I explained that he has been a licensed driver since before we purchased the policy a year ago. Thats when I found out about the agent that sold the policy Steve Gawlik.

It appears the Mr. Gawlik in an effort to make a sale, sold me the policy under false pretenses. He falsified the documents he sent the home office stating that my son only had a learners permit but sent me documents stating he was one of the licensed drivers on the policy. Thats the reason the quote was so low and why. Then after a little research I found out the at the time Mr. Gawlik sold me the policy he was under federal indictment for fraud in a previous real estate scam. I can only imagine what would have happened if my son had been involved in a serious accident while we were insured under this fraudulent policy. And to make matters worse Farmers didnt think it was a big deal since we saved so much money for the last year.

First of all saving the money wasnt the issue. We leased a new vehicle for my son based on fraudulent information we were given by A Farmers Insurance rep who they allowed to work while under federal indictment without any oversight. I also found out from the new agent they put me with that he was dealing with dozens of Mr. Gawlik's clients the he perpetrated the same fraud on. The worst part of all this is that Farmers Insurance never contacted me with any of this information until they sent me a rate increase and thought there was no problem with them employing someone like Mr. Gawlik.

To add insult to injury, after I canceled the policy and paid the final premium, I recently got a letter from a collection agency demanding an additional $64 Farmers claimed was still due to them based on when my son was actually listed. Something I was totally unaware of until the collection agency contacted me. I hope all the other people that were cheated by Farmers Insurance and their agent Steve Gawlik speak up so everyone will know how Farmers treats their customers... BEWARE!

But I like how they will give you a discount if you have an extra vehicle on to your plan. I think the price is quite reasonable. They are also quite nice and helpful. However I have only been using this insurance for less than a year and I was put onto another person's plan so I am not very experienced with our insurance. I think Farmers insurance is quite cheap too, but if I had better options for my age I might change auto Insurance.

I asked to be released from my contract and my agent (cheerfully) complied, but I was told I had to pay for one last month, that is, the premium for February of 2011. I paid that, but the next month I received another bill. I was told I had to pay that one, too. I asked why and I was given some gobbledygook about how I hadn't fully paid for my policy.

I kept paying for several months, always being assured that that particular payment would be my last. After 4 or 5 months I called them and said I wasn't paying them anymore. They began to send me threatening letters and then turned me over to a collection agency. I contacted the state insurance commissioner's complaint department where I was told my agent's behavior was definitely unethical. I filed a complaint, but the collection agency's calls stopped right after I told one gentleman that I was going to contact the insurance commissioner AND file a complaint, that is, BEFORE I even filed the complaint.

After my last experience with farmers insurance, I will not recommend them to anyone. Yes, it was an okay deal to begin with however everything change this month. I signed up for the ETF debits to taken out of my account and each month they had difficulty taking it out of my checking account. When it came time for renewal, they told me they wouldn't offer the ETF discount and that I would have to pay each month manually. I spoke with a customer agent to get this resolved and I thought everything was going to go smoothly for the next month but it DIDN'T!!! I added a new checking account and credit number they could withdrawal from and to my surprise they somehow magically pulled the money out of the WRONG ACCOUNT! My bank charged me NSF fee and I had several "chats" with Farmers customers service. They are not help and make PROMISES. I guess they can honor PROMISES because they are made to be broken.

I had to pay my insurance through the CORRECT account that was on their records and several days later Farmers is charging me again for twice the amount! I have been transferred to different "excellent, superior" customer care agents, supervisors but they expect me to do the runaround for them when they are the ones who made the MISTAKE in the first place!!! Now I'm out $200 which they will not return to me immediately and expect me to have official bank statements, account numbers, etc in order for them to REFUND MY MONEY!!! On top of that, they said for LEGAL REASONS, they cannot credit my account for the next month and half, but can issue a check after THEY REVIEW AND FEEL IT IS SUFFICIENT to issue a CHECK!

If anyone is thinking of going to Farmer's Insurance, re-think this again! I have been a customer and I thought this would be a good relationship but it is not!!! Their "excellent, superior" care agents, supervisors wrote an email response back to me indicating it's my fault when in fact they were able to place a timeline that places me in the ABSOLUTE RIGHT!!! They admitted the error but I'm the one who has to jump through hurdles to get my money back and make sure the documents I submit to them is SUFFICIENT for them to give me back my money!!! I was on a combined household with my little sister just due to the fact that we have been on a policy together since we were first learning to drive/insured on our parents' vehicles. I recently called my local agent to separate myself from her due to her horrible driving history and excessive accidents. They assured me numerous times my rates were not effected by her poor driving record. I still did not feel comfortable and asked to be disassociated with her all together for my own peace of mind. She typed away at her computer and then gave me my new policy number and told me I was saving money... Hmm. Ok, fine. One week later my sister totals her car while driving. Carolyn **'s agency in Sonora, CA had royally screwed up when splitting our policies. The entire accident, claim, etc., was filed under myself as the vehicle owner, driver, and is now showing on my MVR.

I have spent hours on the phone trying to get someone to correct this mistake. They updated the claim on their end, so that the claim money paid out my sister who's now driving around a brand new car, and I am still dealing with insurance/DMV back and forth. I haven't been able to cancel this agent/policy because this accident is showing up on my record and the rates have skyrocketed. I have been told by local agent she is "working with underwriters" to fix this. DMV can't do anything without insurance. I have called corporate and they just keep referring back to Sam **, the local district manager in my area, who has not once returned my call. My car was vandalized on 8/21/15. My deductible comprehensive is $750. My issue is mainly with agent Jae **. When I agreed to this coverage I didn't know there was a better alternative. I was mislead into a coverage that wouldn't do me any good in the long run. I just told him that I don't want to pay too much for insurance per month and if he can give me a cheaper rate. We ended up with a deductible of $750/$750. So I went ahead and agreed to this coverage without having a clue as to what I'm signing up to. This agent never advised me as to what other coverage options I have. If he would have offered me something better which I'm finding out now that $250 comprehensive would have been a better choice, I would go with that option.

Next, when my car got vandalized I called him and he was completely unprofessional on the phone. Basically, he laughed at my friend and I telling us, "It's not my problem" and then hung up the phone. So first, he was negligent when selling me insurance and failing to protect the customer with a good coverage, and secondly he was disrespectful over the phone in his demeanor. Sure I got upset too, but who wouldn't. Look at all these reviews here as it is pretty clear that Farmers only cares about their bottom line and treats their customers like trash. After being with Farmers for quite a few years I won't be staying with them. I'm an excellent driver and I'll take that excellence elsewhere, where at the very least I won't be disrespected on the phone by an incompetent and unprofessional agent.

I contacted the District Manager regarding this agent's lousy behavior and felt like he continued to play favorites by covering this agent. District Manager told me that this agent is an independent contractor and they haven't had complaints about him in the last 5 years. Really?!? So if he is an independent contractor and they haven't had any complaints it means that it is okay that he is unprofessional and negligent. It's like the District Manager doesn't even care about the disgusting behavior of this agent. I'm not buying into this! A complaint is a complaint and it does not matter if it is a first one. There is a first for everything. If anyone needs a copy of the email from the District Manager I will gladly provide it.

I also filed a complaint with California Insurance Commissioner. I talked to Alex in the claims department and he said there's nothing they can do because I signed a contract. Yes sure, I signed a contract in which the agent sold me a lousy policy that wouldn't do me any good in the long run simply because the agent did a lazy job from the start. So I guess I'm suppose to be paying for this incompetent agent's mistake. The agent's job is to advise clients about insurance coverages so that the client can choose what is the best option, this agent FAILED TO DO ANY OF THIS. And of course he will probably lie through his teeth claiming that he explained all the different policies. If he would I wouldn't be stuck with a $750 comprehensive deductible. I was under the impression that this was the last best choice, too bad I learned it the hard way that it isn't.

Dealing with agent in B.A. ok. FOR FARMERS. for my cars to consolidate them into my existing policy. Agent is at his computer typing out my cars policy and told me "oh looks like you had a incident." Which was backing up at a grocery store (which I had forgotten it was about 2 year before with the company that I was insured with presently and at the time of the incident.)

The agent suggestion to me, "let's go ahead and submit it." If they reject it they will send it back to me. I paid a full year. $1279 at that time. Well in a few weeks I get a notice that my premium for my cars just doubled. I call the agent. He say "Sugar, don't worry you are paid up", because I ask him "what is this!!" "I paid the year. Don't worry you're ok." Couple weeks pass I get same notice. Pissed. Called again. (WITHOUT HESITATION HE SAID "DON'T WORRY IT'S OK!!" He didn't have time to even look what I was talking about either time.

Another couple weeks pass I get notice I am cancelled. I have no insurance on my cars for lack of payment. (I PAID IN FULL $1279 TO START WITH. In my life I had never been without car insurance nor in a accident with someone. Really angry I call the Broken Arrow Agent. He wasn't in. Didn't call back before I fax several pages what he did and he no longer had my business. Didn't hear from him. Waiting to get my refunds back for all my accounts. In process of me changing my business and being busy, time goes by. I called Farmers C. Service. They tell me they had reinstated me so fraudulently they used all the $1279 up. And the 6 months I had paid on my homeowners and rentals. In which I was cancelled by my notification to the agent and getting a notification from them, as well. Those were cancelled because I quit paying when they cancelled my cars, in my fax.

Farmers reinstated my home and all my rentals. Reinstated me without my knowledge. Used that portion of money that was left after I cancelled due to stupidity about my cars. Farmers continued insuring me after my 6 months payments, on Homeowners, in which is against their policy to give insurance without payment. Farmers let me know they had put me on a collection circuit. For mistakenly insuring me without money because I had cancelled months before. This is 6 or 9 months after I cancelled.

I finally got a letter in 2014 saying they dropped the collection agency. Really! They cost me $1279 because they cancelled me because I didn't report I had a incident (no ticket) backing up in neutral to a car sitting there with existing damage on the other side old car. I looked. No car was there. He said he honked 3 times, time enough to move I was in neutral. I did what the agent said. He submitted to see if they reject it because it would soon be expired the time they set.. He told me it was about to expire. No more was said. I don't say "oh sign this" to say 2 years ago you rolled back into a front panel of a car. Just look for yourself at all the bad things happen to folks, that pay good money only to get all the heart ache this company has created for them. Never to correct or admit any wrong doing. I LOST PROBABLY $1500 OR MORE. IF YOU HAVE MONEY YOU CAN BE A BULLY AND GET BY WITH IT.

Avoid this company!! I've never had such a horrible experience with a company before. I signed up for Farmers insurance about 2 months ago and have had nothing but horrible service up until this point. When I set up my account, I signed up for automatic payments which was a huge mistake. My payment date was originally scheduled for the 12th of every month, and called to change it to the 19th. Easy change (so I thought). I checked my bank account on the 13th, only to see that Farmers had deducted the money anyway, nearly $200. This caused my bank account to drop to a negative balance, and as a result, I received an overdraft fee from my bank.

I called Farmers, and there was nothing they could do to reverse the charge until I was in contact with my bank. Long story short, I received over 7 overdraft fees because of Farmers' mistake, and Farmers gave me the runaround asking me to send numerous documents to their accounting department to PROVE that I wasn't lying about the charges, after it was their mistake!! It's been over a month and I still have not received a refund. I've asked to speak with a manager, and every time I try contacting them, I have to speak to a new person who knows nothing about the situation. They have a lack of concern for my issues and could care less about the problems I've had. I would highly recommend not using this company if you're looking for personal and exceptional service...Farmers is far from that.

My car broke down on the side of the highway while I was driving out of state, and I'm convinced that the first representative I spoke to relayed zero information. Not only did I have to repeat myself, but he told me I would receive a confirmation text with an ETA in a couple minutes after speaking with him. (This is while sitting in a car that would not start in 110 degree weather.) I did not receive a text, but rather a phone call half an hour later asking me the exact information I had just given the previous representative.

After that conversation, still no text. Then, a supervisor finally took over the case half an hour later, asked me the exact same information, and about half an hour after that, said she could get a tow truck in forty minutes, but it would cost more than double my coverage. Or, we could wait in the hot car for 4 hours for a driver who would be fully covered. Obviously we took option one. Finally the tow truck driver himself called (again asking for the same information) and arrived in 20 minutes and charged less than Helppoint had quoted. Thankfully, my passenger and I did not die of heatstroke while all this was happening, but I am dissatisfied to say the least.

From the damage of the cars and statements, he concluded that it was both our fault, because I had been backing up and he said he would have cited the other driver for speeding.

I was in the process of changing Farmers agents because my agent had relocated out of town. Both agents felt I would not be found at fault, or at least the most would be 50-50. The Farmers adjuster (I believe he was in Arkansas or somewhere) wasn't the least bit interested in any information from the police officer. From the agent's statements, you could tell he couldn't even figure out the configuration of the parking lot. He was arrogant and condescending. He wasn't interested in a statement from the officer. The way he spoke to me, I think his decision was based on the fact that I was a female, senior citizen. He found that I was totally at fault!

I would NEVER recommend Farmers to anyone and have let all my friends know. I had been driving 58 years at the time of the accident. I had never had an at fault accident in my life and, being a single mother for many years, fully employed, etc., had driven many miles. I worked for a law enforcement agency and was told I could out-drive many of their officers. I have always been a very careful driver. The end is that my insurance was raised $200.00 a year. I took my 2 cars and house off of Farmers insurance and went with another agency. Because of my good record, the new agency, Progressive, didn't charge me more for this accident. I ended up paying them what my insurance cost had been before the accident. My advice to others, do NOT go with this company. Their adjusters are terrible, know-it-all and condescending. It may have turned out different if it had been male driver instead of me.

Told me if I drop off the title, the check that we are entitled to, would be mailed out the next day. Still waiting! Talked to them yesterday and they said they would release the check and we would get on Monday. I told them, "No, that's not what you said and my boyfriend and I have complied to everything you have asked for. We want that check tomorrow." She said, "I'll have to get my supervisor to sign off for that." I told "you do that." Put me on hold and she said her supervisor sign off on it and that it was being mailed out today. She said, "You should get it the same time tomorrow." Unfortunately my mail has already came and guess what? No check!

My car was totaled and it has been sitting in a salvage/towing yard for over a month! Farmers hasn't even come out to look at it. I spoke to an Agent and he said something about being out of the office for a while. Blah Blah Blah. I told him that this should not have taken a month. My insurance paid out immediately. Why do I have to wait for an adjuster to go look at my car. So glad I don't have them as my carrier. We are Farmers... NOT!

I had a claim with Farmers in which took 30 days to resolve. I originally bought Farmers insurance because they had what I thought was excellent customer service. Farmers is by far more expensive than most, which is fine if they cover you in your time of need. I've been a client for over 20 years and had never filed a claim. I always assume you get what you pay for but this wasn't the truth in this situation. During the claim I was transferred three times to different agents. It seemed like no one knew what to do. I was finally put on with one of the agents. It started off terrible and the service stayed the same. The agent was incredibly hard to get a hold of. I would hear from her a couple days after calling multiple times and leaving voice mails. She took two vacations which was partly the reason it took so long. She never kept me in the loop.

When the verdict came, they had every excuse in the book why they wouldn't cover me. Not that I expected to be covered but I expect better customer service. I thought that maybe 20+ years and multiple policies that that might mean something but I guess not. I will never ever pay a single dollar to Farmers insurance. Not saying another insurance would of covered me but I expected more since the policies were 40-50% higher than other quotes I've had over the years and a long relationship stating. The claim was small and was only a small portion of what I pay annually. So money was never the issue. Do not over pay with Farmers. Use Progressive, Nationwide, AAA, State Farm, ECT.

I went with the monthly payment and paid for my first month. 2nd month came around and I paid for that one. Then the 3rd and 4th month billing showed up and they raised their prices by 25%. I thought it was unusual, since I only drive 10 miles a day. Didn't file any claim during those time nor was I ever pulled over. So I decided to just cancel my policy and switched to another auto insurance. They didn't give me any issue with canceling.. But now all of a sudden, they're sending me another bill for unpaid balance. Despite paying for my policy the beginning of each month. However, I cannot remove the woods myself because it was damaged so badly. So I just waited and I also moved to a new place. And two months later, I saw those woods were moved out of my apartment, and when I talked with them about my stuff, they told me they threw everything away! I told my situation to the Farmers Insurance claimer, and they ended up for giving me $764.33. They could give me less! We have used Farmers insurance company for our home and auto insurance for several years now. We have had one issue after another with them, but we seemed to be able to get a resolution to them rather than having them become a continuous pile of issues. The biggest issue being their rapidly climbing rates. The other big deal with Farmers Ins. is that they are continually paying our taxes late, and we keep getting charged penalties because of the late payments. We have talked to our agents about this, and were told that the penalty for the late payment was their fault, therefore they would take care of it.

Upon looking at our latest tax bill, they have been taking care of it alright, through our "escrow account" of our mortgage company. We've been the ones that have been taking care of the penalties. We have our taxes and insurance payments, together with our mortgage payment, so there is an "escrow" account. So as we pay our monthly payment, a portion of the payment goes to this account, and is set aside for the taxes and insurance when they are due. According to our tax payment history, we have been late in all but 3 payments since we have had Farmers for our insurance. We have always asked why we kept getting a rate increase, since our driving histories hasn't changed and we have no points or accidents on our records. This is a "general rate increase to offset the increase of labor, parts and lawsuits".

Just recently (2/3/15), we added a second vehicle and our daughter, who is temporarily living with us. In order for her to get to work, she needed a car and insurance. The rate increase was 68.00 dollars a month. No problem, in fact we were very surprised! Then the barrage of letters and notifications started less than 5 days had passed since we were quoted a new rate. Then we were given a rate that was 500% more. We were told that our daughter had 5 tickets in the last 3 years and we could get AN EXACT COPY OF THE REPORT FROM LEXISNEXIS, with their "clue identification #". I called the LexisNexis company, gave the information I was told to include, and was told the report would be at our house in 7-10 days.

What came was a letter stating that the information requested could not be given, as they weren't able to identify me with the information given. I called the number they included and was told that I couldn't have the exact info, because their records were changed on a daily basis. I informed them that on their website and letter it states that an exact copy would be sent upon request. I also stated that the majority of the information contained within the letter that increased our policy amount was incorrect and asked how to get it corrected. I was informed that I could pay for a copy of the letter, with the Fair Credit Reporting Act and it wasn't their job to correct the information, but it was the insurance companies' responsibility. They were a seller of information, not a problem corrector.

The information they include is from several different companies. I verified that they sold information about people to Insurance companies, but didn't care about the accuracy of the information that they sent, or what the results of the incorrect information could be to people. When calling Farmers with this info, I was told that it WAS NOT their job to correct the information that they were sent. 3 of the 5 tickets that were said that my daughter obtained were not true, and can be proven. In fact one of the tickets was during a time when she was not even driving, nor did she have a vehicle. She was living with us and we only had one vehicle, which was being used by my significant other to get back and forth to work and to get me to my doctor appointments. From 11/14- 2/15, she did not have access to a vehicle, did not drive a vehicle, and was not even in the geographical areas of where the ticket was supposed to have been given!

It was up to LexisNexis, after this 3 day circle to nowhere, the issue just got worse. Our new policy was to begin 4/23/15. Yesterday an automatic deduction for 896.81 was removed from our account, one month early AND the amount to be paid, was now doubled. I have called and left 4 messages, and have not received 1 call from them. I can't believe what they are trying to get away with. In getting quotes to change ins. companies, I was told step by step instructions on how to get this corrected and the phone numbers of the agencies to call, and get it corrected immediately!

Just someone who was as angry as we were about the actions of this so-called "for the people, with their best interest at heart" insurance company. What a joke! But here is the information for all of you who want a agent with great job ethics and who seems to go way beyond that extra mile. Freeway insurance company; 619 299 4900. (I hope that this is okay with everyone that I added this here!).

I have been having problems with Farmers for a while now. It started last year, I had to file a claim due to when we had a severe flood. The flood caused damage to the bottom of my car. I was told that it would be covered, I was given a rental car and they towed my car to their shop. The claim was September 6, 2014. I never heard from anyone for over 30 days. I tried several times to contact the adjuster, but I always got the voice mail or was told she was on vacation. Then finally, on October 24th I was contacted by the body shop that my car had been at, telling me to come pick up my car. Nothing was ever fixed! It actually was worse then when it had gotten taken there. So then since it took them over 30 days to do no work to my car, Enterprise said that Farmers will only cover 30 days and I'm responsible for the remainder of the days. Which this was unfair, due to it not being my fault that Farmers took so long.

Now, I'm currently in an active claim that had happened on November 10, 2014. I was at a convenient store when my car was basically vandalized by a gentleman that wanted me to pay him to paint my car. The insurance adjuster, Lauren, had came out to look at the car on January 16,2015. She had said it was claimed as a total loss then proceeded to get an estimate for the car. She advised me that I would receive a call for a total amount within the next few days.

Then I get a call from Zachary, a total loss specialist on January 23. He said he had to do a recorded call on exactly what happened. So that was done. Then, I'm told that he is unsure of what is going to happen with the claim. That it's in investigations. I've tried contacting him many of times to figure out what is going on. I don't understand why Lauren tells me it will be a few day process then now its been 3 months. Just like my previous claim, which never was even done.

Back in October, I had called my agent and set up my payment with him, that was on October 5th. Then October 14th, I get a call from him saying that the payment hadn't processed correctly. So I had given him the correct card number and he told me everything is fine. Then on January 21st, I get pulled over and the officer stated that I had an insurance lapse. I was completely in denial because I was up to date with Farmers. Well, my car was towed and the officer took my tags. I spoke with Jason and he said he remembers exactly what had happened but my insurance had never canceled. So I went to the MVA and they told me that my lapse was from October 5,2014 until October 14,2014. I explained I was still with Farmers and told them about the payment that was processed wrong.

They said that I should not have had a lapse that fast and to get a FR-19 from Farmers. I call and speak to a gentleman named Rick in Direct Services Department. I explained everything to him. He was nice at first until he seen I'm no longer with Farmers. I told him it's because my car was towed so I had no need to pay for insurance until I get this situation fixed. He then got very mean and stated "I don't have to provide ** since you're no longer a customer!" He was yelling and cursing at me. I then asked him for his name and he said Rick, I asked for his last name. He stated "I do not have to tell you **!" So then I asked to speak to his supervisor and he refused to let me speak to anyone else. I couldn't believe the way he was yelling at me.

So now, I'm stuck without my vehicle on the road. I'm unable to go to work, I'm stuck with all of these fines which I don't think I should have to pay. The MVA had said I need to file a complaint due to all of the problems I'm having with Farmers. I have been paying a lot of money to be insured so that if any type of damage or accident happens, it should be covered. No one should have to go through all the things I have with their insurance. It's just not fair! I have to have transportation for work. Also for my daughter to go to school and I'm also pregnant and it's been too much stress for me to handle. I can't even make it to my doctor's appointments. Thank you for your time.

On telling nearest car repair shop, she took 10 minutes to find the nearest shop and again did not find the info that the shop is opened or closed since it was Sunday evening. Finally my husband hit the car against the curb/divider again and again and stopped it.

The roadside assistance came after 3 hours. It was just very horrible, very frustrating. They do not understand the situation... They understand only money taking and maybe wait till the car does meet an accident so they can put fault on drivers. Very horrible. We were so scared, afraid and frustrated that day.. Cannot tell. If you ask them "how long this investigation of yours will take", this was what I got back as answer from Adjuster: "you are asking me to predict the future. Are you crazy, it takes what it takes."

I had to sue my own insurance company to get a settlement. My agent took money from me for 22 years and when I really needed them, they said "sorry we can't help you." Do not think that low premiums will save you money in the long run. Look at the payout stats online for different companies before you buy. I have AMICA now and they have a good payout rating. That's what insurance is for--to make it right when you need it. When you have a bad accident, it's too late to expect all those promises they feed you at Farmers to be true. They aren't! I have been with Farmers for 10 years, but finally I have decided to leave for another auto insurance company. The reason is simple: I am fed up with their adjusters' wrong decisions of my three car incidents. The most recent one is on 07/01/2014 when a car cut in front of me and caused damages on my car. It is a hit-and-run. The other party ran away after running into my car from behind on a driveway and caused damages on my car. I got his car license number, went to the police, and filed a counter-claim. Farmers' adjusters and supervisors decided to pay me only 50% of my car repair cost. This is third time when their adjusters believe lies of the other party and made the wrong decision to punish me.

The second time is in 2012 when I hit bottom leftover bricks off my neighbor's fence located at 90-degree turning corner in the middle of the night, which had been knocked out by another neighbor. Farmers mistakenly paid her more than $6,800 when the cost is only less than $300. Farmers did not believe me and believed the fraudster's lies. I got 5 points on my driving record because of their mistake.

The first time was in 2007 when a young man from out of town cut in front of me at a cross, crashed my car, and injured me. The police told me that he was a student and could not afford my damages and injury. I listened to the police and did not claim from his insurance although it was obviously his fault. To my surprise, he claimed from my insurance. The more shocking is that Farmers gave him more than $6,800 without letting me know. I called and found out how incompetent my adjuster was -- he believed all the lies from the young man. I personally lost about $10,000 for my medical expenses and car damages. Farmers raised my premium and I got points on my driving record for the other party's fault. Whoever is there reading my complaint, I hope my bad experiences will stop you from choosing Farmers. My patience had reached limits and I cannot tolerate Farmers anymore.

Today, July 22nd 2014, I received a "Final notice of premium due" statement for April to June coverage, and stated that my auto policy was cancelled last month (June) by Farmers insurance, even though I made the 6 months premium payment in April 2014. I thought I could sit back and relax for the next payment until Oct 2014.

Regard to the conversation over the phone with Farmers' underwriter, my policy has been cancelled by Farmers' due to non-payment because Farmers' insurance refunded the payment I made few days later, which I never expected.

Ridiculous saturation #1) Farmers' insurance refunded back to a credit card I haven't been used for a year. In other words, I used another credit card to make the payment. I didn't know it, until I check all my credit card accounts one by one today, however the person over phone would condemn me for not checking my credit card statement. If I had any accident during uncover period, who would be responsible for the cost?? I asked that question over the phone, it seem like they didn't care!

I was turning left out of a gas station which was not across from any other entrances or exits on a six-lane major road in Nashville, TN. The traffic had stopped for a red light and backed up to where I was exiting but all 3 lanes of cars did not block me from leaving the station. When I very cautiously made my way into the turn lane aka the middle lane, no one was coming down it and no one was entering it and I was safe to make a full left turn. As I looked to make sure the oncoming traffic was still halted at the red light, a driver driving down the turn lane on my left side swerved into the oncoming traffic lane and hit me on my front right passenger's side bumper, fender and headlight. She then yelled at me and I called the cops and a witness was on hand to help vouch for me. But after an hour, the witness had to leave and the police arrived later.

Farmers Insurance found out the other car was not insured plus the driver did not own the car and was not related to the owner of the car. I gave my narrative to the police and they didn't make either of us at fault. When I gave my narrative to Farmers, they told me since I was making a left turn, I was the one at fault and since no witness was present to give their narrative of describing how the other car hit my car, I was screwed. They said the other driver honked (which she did not, she lied), was coming down at a safe distance in the turn lane (which also wasn't true - there were other entrances to places that people could have had an head on collision with her had they been turning into the left turn lane when she was driving down it), and that I hit her, which was physically impossible since my car was completely stationary.

This all of course was my word against hers, plus she had no insurance, so they decided to use my policy to pay for her fake injuries and the damage on the owner's car whose insurance had also lapsed. I also was not given my deductible because they made me over 50 percent at fault, so my car was not fixed 100 percent. It was degrading & disrespectful the way Farmers adjusters treated me, plus they made me fax them the police report because they couldn't get it themselves or were too lazy to retrieve it and their body shop estimate also took too long since it wasn't uploaded correctly. I highly recommend to never use Farmers Insurance ever!

Farmers Insurance is a rip off. They lied to me about coverage and payout on claims. They screwed up my policy so bad it had to be cancelled and new one written. Customer Service said I didn't have an auto policy, just a home policy. Another Customer Service agent told me I had three autos on my policy, and no home policy. I have one auto, one home. Pretty simple.

My agent's office help is deplorable. First she gave the wrong policy info to my bank. I caught the mistake, and the information was corrected. Next Farmer's cancelled my home policy and it took many calls to straighten it out. Never did receive a written policy in the mail on the first policy. On the second policy, I did receive a written policy in the mail but it had so many errors it took over an hour with the insurance agent to correct them. This is when my insurance agent told me I could not get the same coverage amount I had on the first policy, and despite having 25K LESS coverage, my premium would increase by a few dollars. She said I could increase my coverage back to what it was originally but it would cost several hundred dollars more. This makes no sense. She told me on the phone I would receive a refund of $116 back. I got a check for $47.

Several more calls to Customer Support who could not tell me why I only got $47. They said I would have to ask my agent. I paid $1085 originally. New policy amount was $970. No matter what math you use, it does not add up to a $47 difference. My agent said that because I made so many changes, all I was going to get was $47. What??? I had to make the changes because SHE and her office made all the mistakes! Not only did I pay the $25 fee for the policy on the home, and $15 on the auto, I also had to pay $70 because they don't know how to do their jobs!?

I cancelled my Farmers insurance today and will never go with them again. I will tell anyone and everyone who will listen not to use Farmers. Rip off. Lies. Cheating. Ineptness. A company who will tell you to call your agent, and the agent will tell you to call Customer Service. The agent is Nancy ** in Hartselle AL. Her 'help' is Regina and Megan. I was only given a month of partial rental car (15.00 a day). The communication was poor and I felt like I was kept out of the loop. After I finally got my car back, Farmers gave me a 6 month guarantee on any problems that might come up with the car. I was very unhappy with the company as well as the agent. His office was next to the restaurant that I work in. The day I called him to tell him that my car had been stolen he went over and told everyone what had happened. I was not a happy camper!

When the six month period ended I found another company to insure me. When I informed the agent's office that I was canceling my account I was told that I should never done that. I was also yelled at for this but it wasn't too bad. I continued to have my home insured through him in spite of some serious misgivings. Last week he came into the restaurant and grabbed some silverware to eat his take out meals with. He was rude enough that customers in the restaurant commented about his nasty attitude. That made my mind up and I cancelled my homeowner's insurance with Farmers the following day with one of his associates.

He came into the restaurant about 15 minutes later. He started screaming at me about how rude I was and how much he had done for me in getting me car taken care of.. He scared me to death. There were customers in the restaurant at that time but it didn't seem to bother him. Then he went back and started screaming at my boss. He lied about my service to his employees, said I complained about tips and anything else he could think to lie about. He was trying to get me fired.

My boss told me that I should not have conducted insurance business while I was working. I told her that I had cancelled my auto insurance 4 months ago. Once she calmed down she realized what he was trying to accomplish by having a screaming temper tantrum in her restaurant. She is now cancelling her policy through Farmers.

On a final note, in the past I was a victim of domestic violence. It took me a long time to get over it. Now I start shaking before I leave for work. It also took 4 hours for me to settle down after this incident. I still start shaking whenever I see him. I should never have been treated in this manner and neither should anyone else. Why is a man like this even working with the public?

However, I continued to pay my premium on the 2010 Prius as well as 4 other cars that I have insured with Farmers. I have been insured with them for over 15 years and have always been current with my payments. I also have homeowners and renters insurance with them.

On 9/2, 2 weeks after the 30 day reporting requirement elapsed, my parked 2013 Prius was struck by a hit and run driver in front of my wife's store after hours. No one was in the car. I presented a property damage claim on 9/3 and was denied based on the contractual reporting requirement. Damage to the Prius was $5,706.86. My deductible is $1,000.00. My contention is that Farmers should pay for the damages minus my deductible. Based on the facts presented, it should be clear that I was not trying to avoid coverage on the new Prius as I continued making premium payments on all my cars including the 2010 Prius.

Farmers' conduct, in my opinion, is unconscionable and the company should be prevented from harming a long-time insured in good standing because of a minor mistake (inadvertence) which did not prejudice them in any way. This action is but another example of how these carriers take advantage of consumers, no matter how loyal, in order to avoid payment on a legitimate claim. This is the first time that I have been remiss in promptly reporting the purchase of a new car to may agent. But there were legitimate extenuating circumstances that were a distraction for a brief period and my premium payments were still being made, albeit on the 2010 instead of the 2013 Prius! I have filed a grievance with the California Insurance Department as well as the Better Business Bureau and will pursue all avenues for redress until this egregious behavior is corrected.

He used to call either on a Friday eve or on a Sat and speak for hours altogether about some unimportant stuff and when we were involved in a collision, he never responded to our emails/calls/voicemails. Very, very irresponsible!!!!!!!! I was very unhappy in the duration I was with Farmers. Pls do not get trapped with them!!!!! Even after I suspended my account when them, the frustration didn't end there!!!! Very bad customer service!!!!!!!!!!

After arriving in the United States from our honeymoon, we found our 2000 Saturn had been side swiped by another vehicle as the Saturn sat parked. Thankfully, our Farmers insurance stepped in and handled what seemed to be a huge task. I am extremely grateful for all the help and attention to my concerns that Farmers Insurance handled.

Unfortunately, someone made the call to have my vehicle towed out of town without my consent, during the process of handling my claim. Once this happened, my vehicle's belonging were removed by someone who had custody of my vehicle at that time. I am told that once the call, to have the vehicle towed, happened it gave the tow company the right to those belongings. Regardless of all the details, it is clear that a mistake was made during the claims process. If it were possible to just call the tow driver and nicely ask to have the belongings returned then we would overlook the mistake and all the inconvenience, heartache, poor sleep and anxiety associated with this part of the claim. Of course, it appears that is not happening and now we must look to the individual who took it upon themselves to make the call to have the vehicle towed and hold them responsible. So to the best of my ability, I will provide a list of items that were inside the vehicle for the Farmers agent to better handle this part of the claim.

I am content working with Farmers insurance, but am feeling like this part of the claim is moving very slowly with regard to someone taking responsibility for their actions. If Farmers and myself are unable to come to an agreement then perhaps it is best if I hire a legal representative to assist me with this process. I feel this way because of the recent uncertainty and finger pointing involved with the miscommunication between Farmers Insurance and said parties resulting in the 2000 Saturn and its belongings being towed out of town.

I am writing this for my Mom who is over 80 years old and does not even know how to turn on a computer. My Dad, her husband, passed away eleven years ago and is the one who went with Farmers. His car was a 1998 Buick Regal and he put about 35,000 miles on it in the four years he was still alive. In the eleven years since then the car has had only seven thousand miles added. In every opportunity we have had, we have told Farmers that my Mom does not drive and I drive her twice a week about one mile to the store and back. We have told them that annually the car is driven less than 500 miles.

Well, my Mom just received another "mileage Verification" letter telling her that her rates would be affected if she does not respond. Now the part that is making us mad is that they list the mileage of the past year as 7,500 miles and that they estimate her driving 13,000 miles in the next year! This is absolutely criminal to try to say a person of her age is driving that much in a fourteen-year-old car. MY MOM DOESN'T EVEN HAVE A DRIVER'S LICENSE!. I have records showing that when the smog check was done one year ago, the mileage was 42,146. The car has right now 42,448 miles on it. That is an annual miles driven of 302 miles. If I didn't go through my Moms' mail this would have just been passed over and Farmers would have raised her rates again.

How many other elderly people is Farmers trying to take advantage of? To see that they have my Mom driving that much when the car is hardly used at all and Farmers has been repeatedly told this, is criminal. I have been trying to get my Mom to switch insurance companies but she is very resistive to any change in anything my dad set up before he died.

Within a month of the incident, our rate increased by $983.00 a year. This was my first claim. I have not had any claims for over 10 years with any company. The increase was greater than the claim made by the car owner I hit. How can this be fair? I would like to switch companies, but fear I won't find a company to insure us now that there is a claim. So, is this legalized **?

My name is David **. I have a highly modified 1986 Maier Racing Mustang. I had the car appraised for $31,650 by the Automobile Appraisal Association. I took the appraisal to Farmers Insurance. They accepted the appraisal and quoted me a rate of $258.10 for a 6-month policy. After I paid for the policy, they then raised my rates to $448.50. They explained that the new quote was rated by the $31,650 pay off price. They had my appraisal when they did the first quote which made this a typical bait and switch. I paid it figuring all insurance companies play this game and not worth my time or the hassle of switching. Since the first appraisal, the car has had another $40k in further modifications and was going from shop to shop to have work done to it. In the middle of the modifications, the car was in a front-end collision. I had the car appraised again with the extra modifications. It came to $51,700. Farmers outsourced a person to take pictures of the car.

Brad ** of Farmers Insurance then told me he would not honor my original appraisal and would only accept his Farmers Insurance appraisal. Something this important should have been explained to me in the first place before accepting my original appraisal. Being a total loss, Brad ** then told me he wouldn’t pay out the $51,700 appraised value because I was being charged $448.50 rated by the $31,650 payoff. They then paid Ross ** of Auto Bid in Kansas to appraise a car he has never seen, had zero paperwork on or receipts for. When I talked to Ross, he told me he could NOT find any cars like mine but found Mustangs with some of the same parts as I had and gave a final value of $16,800. The $448.50 I was paying for a $31,650 pay off was now reduced to $16,800. I have been overcharged for 2 years paying $448.50, a payoff they will never intend to honor.

Now, we are playing the Lowball Game. Brad then explained that he expected to take my $51,700 vehicle for $16,800. On top of that, Brad told me that the $40k in extra parts (engine, drivetrain, and suspension that were added) was not part of the original policy but still must stay in the car. Brad then said they will only accept the $51,700 appraisal towards their advantage to rate the buyback price. A complete double standard. I asked what the buyback price was and he said he didn’t know and they can charge whatever they want for the buyback price. Brad ** is forcing me to accept $16,800 for a $51,700 car, a loss of $35,000 or pay an extortion buyback price of whatever they set on the car. Brad ** then told me this will be a long, dragged out process and they can take as long as they want to finish this claim. I’m being scammed and extorted out of my property and need help.

Here are some definitions of Extortion: Wikipedia: Extortion (also called shakedown, out wresting, and exaction) is a criminal offense of unlawfully obtaining money, property or services from a person, entity, or institution, through coercion. Dictionary.com: Law, the crime of obtaining money or some other thing of value by the abuse of one's office or authority.

A warning to all. The worst of the worst! After being a customer for over 30 years, my vehicle was hit and totaled and my son's girlfriend was injured. This happened on January 22, 2013. Farmers has done absolutely nothing to help me, when the other driver was at fault. I get dead ends; phone numbers to people who don't know anything or aren't the ones who are responsible for helping me; or the numbers go nowhere. I get promises of what will be done and no follow up, except in an attempt for them to CYA because the other driver was also a Farmers customer. They have never informed me of my rights, offered me options, explained anything or given me any choices at all. They not only want to steal my car, but leave me hanging to take the loss.

I am absolutely disgusted with this company and will be moving all of my business, including the policies I have written for property, to State Farm. It has been a nightmare I can't wake up from and has caused me to lose sleep, lose business and caused untold amounts of harm to my health and well being in the form of anxiety and migraines. Farmers does not care about anything, but looking out for their own best interest. I have taken this to the internet to provide a forum in which to not only air my grievances, but to warn others of what they can expect when they are loyal to this company. I will continue to post until this goes viral, and I will also pursue a class action lawsuit as I'm sure if this has happened to me, I am not alone.

They have contacted my son's girlfriend repeatedly to try to get her to sign away her rights and make us go away. That isn't happening and I will make sure that I am vocal and loud in the deplorable way I have been treated. You cannot and will not treat the people that keep you in business this way. I will post this message in every venue possible until something is done to help me and not themselves. You don't want to do the right thing, then all will know it.

Her concussion caused her severe problems where for a week, she lost several years of her memory that she is regaining back slowly. Our car was totaled. It was a 2003 Hyundai Elantra. Fair value for that car is around $4,500. The adjuster low-balled us at $3,500. Since my wife could not drive for a while, we just got a rental for her last week. I protested against the valuation of my car and told them I am in no mood to settle for anything less than $4,500.

Soon afterwards, the adjuster called Enterprise Car Rental and told them that they need to take back the rental car tomorrow! I am completely appalled by their behavior. Especially, I have used Farmers Group as my insurer as well for my two houses and 3 cars for over 17 years! These guys are slimebags. They in turn emailed my district Farmers person. They said I have to prove I had AAA Auto Club coverage in California. I did. I sent them my membership certification for the last 30 years. Now, they are asking for a signed affidavit. This is so crazy. Check your policy. Ask for itemization! They have only given me $ credit for $2.50. I became a customer with Farmers Insurance in Tulsa. OK, because I purchased a car on the weekend and was forced to get insurance on my new car before I drove off the lot (even though apparently my coverage on my previous car should have just rolled over). I agreed, but once I spoke with my previous agent, I had realized it was cheaper to go through him, as well as I had better coverage. When I switched my insurance, I did it via e-mail and received an e-mail immediately back from the Farmers agent asking about why I was switching so soon. It was simply because my previous agent got me a better deal with more coverage included. My payments with Farmers were only $115 a month. I received a notice in the mail for a bill that was due on the second month, so I called my agent to see why my cancellation date was 12 days after I called to cancel it, as well as the bill said I owed $639. He assured me those computers just take time to update; that they have to send it in and get it approved, so it will linger and look like that, but to not be alarmed and ignore it.

That month I got an automatic withdrawal from Farmers that took out nearly $500! I immediately put a stop payment on the ACH and called the agent. He gave me some remarks about how it wasn't his fault - "You know how those office girls are" - and assured me that I would get reimbursed the $25 dollar fee for placing a stop payment through my bank and would not be charged again by Farmers. Then the following month, I was charged a balance amount of $379 and again placed another stop payment and called him. He did not answer for over two weeks; that’s when I received a notice of final payment or my account was going to collections.

This time I went straight to the source of Farmers and called their 800 number and got some very good information. The Richard Keck Agency never turned in the documents from signing, so there was a discount taken off of my account leaving me with a balance. I was very surprised when I asked if I could file a complaint about the agent and the customer service representative said that they did not offer that service. They should want feedback from their customers, especially ones that are leaving. Some of their agents are obviously not being honest with customers. Lesson learned: always do your research!

I have been serving in the USMC for the past 4 years in Okinawa, Japan. Before I came back to the states, I took out an auto loan with Navy Federal and gave my mother, Kim **, power of attorney to purchase a vehicle for me. Upon arriving in MEPS in San Diego, I went online to get an e-quote from Farmers Insurance. This was on March 15, 2012. On this form, I stated I had a leased vehicle (I have a copy). When contacted, I told the agent I had a loan with Navy Federal and to give me what I needed for insurance. I was asked the VIN number, but did not have it with me. He said no problem. I was not asked to provide it once I got back to Colorado. I just figured they obtained it. I was emailed a policy to sign and did so on my phone as I had no computer. I expected the agency to have given me the policy I needed.

After I arrived home, I went to register the vehicle. They would not let me as my insurance card had a fake VIN number on it and an incorrect vehicle description. I put a call in to the agent - Bryan **. On May 8th 2012, I totaled the truck. When I called the next day to file a claim, I was told I did not have full coverage and there was nothing I could do. I asked if the policy had been reviewed by an underwriter and asked for a phone number, but was never given one. Usually, when a new policy is written, it is checked by an underwriter and the VIN number verified. If reviewed, the incorrect VIN and lien-ed vehicle should have been caught and corrected. I feel that this company is in violation of failure to protect the public.

My mother and I have contacted Farmers' district manager Ryan ** at the same location several times regarding this situation. We have sent emails and made phone calls. They are all denying I told them it was a leased or lien-ed vehicle. They just informed me that they just go by the e-quote form and what insurance I asked for. There is nothing they can do. They told me to file a claim but when I called to do so, they would not let me. I filled out the e-form quickly and expected someone to contact me and go over the details and explain to me what I needed. I did state leased vehicle on that form and have a copy.

As I had been out of the country for several years and not much experience with insurance coverage (I am 21), I assumed the insuring agent would have spoken with me about my options and what coverage that I needed to carry on my vehicle. This is a very frustrating and upsetting situation as I have a loan on this vehicle that I have to repay even though the vehicle is totaled. I would like you to please investigate this agency/situation as I feel I was not taken care of when I trusted this agency to protect myself and my vehicle. I feel they are responsible for this mistake on the VIN number and the coverage. I feel they should compensate me for the loss of my vehicle or at least amend the policy to reflect the coverage I needed so I may at least just get the vehicle paid off.

I decided to take the money instead of repairing the hood and pay my deductible. I cashed the check. The hood was still in great shape. The next week, I hit a cow, which now I have irreversible damage to the hood and needs to be replaced. Farmers added the money they gave me to fix my hood and added it on the new claim and stuck me for another deductible! In August of 2011, I was rear ended while stopped at a traffic light. I decided to use my PIP to help me offset my cost that I had to pay out of pocket. I lost time from work, had therapy sessions that were out of pocket because the clinic I went to did not do any muscle relaxation, only prescribe medication.

I want to fix the root of the problem, not mask it. Although I did have to use some medication because the pain was unbearable on my lower back. I filled out the application for benefits and loss for my insurance agent handling my case. I faxed 15 pages to her to Farmers' fax line around the middle of December of 2011. She said she received them. Then about a month and a half later, I called to check my status. She claimed she never received them. So I resent them via fax to Farmers' fax line. A month later, I called to check the status and she claimed she has no recollection talking to me about the resubmission of my documents and has never received them. Half of my PIP has been paid to the medical facilities that cared for me. However, the rest of the PIP I feel should be mine due to lost wages at work.

Today is 5/13/2012 and I resubmitted the required "Application of Benefits and Proof of Loss" back to my agent via email and fax for the 3rd time. I have been with Farmers Insurance at approximately 10 years and have put plenty of money into.
