On 7/29/16 at 5:00pm I was rear ended in my car by an elderly man going 50 miles per hour and the impact turned my car sideways on 101 Freeway. The rear end of my car was destroyed and amazingly did not start on fire. The office at the scene ticketed the other driver and made recommendation to DMV that this drivers license be revoked. We were transported to Stanford Medical Center Trauma Center in the same ambulance. I was examined and eventually released miraculously without injury. The Farmers representative called me several days later and took my statement and was willing to offer me a settlement in the amount of $7700 as my car was totaled. The representative was willing to release the money however I was not ready to settle the claim as I wanted to be sure I did not have any additional injuries that might show up a month later.
A month later another rep from Farmers contacted me to tell me that the former rep was no longer working for Farmers and she would be handling my claim. It has been 6 months and Farmers is still refusing to reimburse me for ambulance charges, the lost day of work and my co pay to MY insurance for the medical bill at Stanford Medical Center. Farmers Insurance is indifferent to the fact that my car was totaled by their client, I had to buy a different car to get to my job 22 miles away. I have threatened to hire an attorney but still no response from this pathetic company. I don't know what my recourse is. None of this would have happened if their client hadn't rear ended my car. If anyone has any advice please let me know. Thanks.

I was waiting to turn left into a driveway, the other driver swung wide and hit me. Then she fled the scene. I chased her to try and get her license number. She stopped in the middle of the street, jumped out and said she panicked. She gave me her insurance information. The inter-arbitration between her State Farm Insurance and mine made it my fault. Then she claimed this little fender bender exacerbated her arthritis so they paid her $15,000 for medical bills. Now my driving record is screwed. I thought insurance was supposed to work to defend you. Not pay out thousands of dollars to scammers.

My son was in an accident, where someone Farmers insures hit him at full speed (40 mph) while he was stopped. Farmers immediately assumed liability for the accident. Then they proceeded to try to cheat us at every turn. They determined our car to be totaled. We had purchased the car (certified pre-owned) exactly 5 months ago to the day of the accident for $17,400. We had put about 3,000 miles on it, for just over 31,000 miles total. Not only was it low mileage it was loaded, even had a moonroof.
Farmers' first "offer" for our totaled car was $14,200. They eventually came up to $15,200. So in five months my car had depreciated in their opinion by more than $2,000. I understand this was "cash value" not "retail value"--at the end of the day I'm still the one paying the difference. ALSO... before their check was even in my account they wanted back the rental. So how do you buy a car in less than 24 hours? Most of us mere mortals need that check as a down payment. I asked for an extension and was told they couldn't approve it. Also, they NEVER asked if my son was okay after the accident. They tried to cut corners everywhere they could. It was an awful experience dealing with this company. No concern for people, just money money money.

I have been a client of Farmers Insurance, Kevin Brown Agent office in Las Vegas, NV, for two-plus years. I am dropping them "like a hot rock" due to their lousy and pathetic customer service, as well as the constant increases in insurance premiums. Customer service with this agent office is absolutely pathetic. I have tried over the two-plus years to contact my agent and had to continually call until I finally got hold of him to discuss issues. I finally had enough and decided to change insurance companies before my next renewal in March 2017. I talked with Jessica, a customer service representative at the office, and told her she was on a recorded line (I wanted to ensure I had proof of cancellation before they did an automatic billing for a renewal). She told me what I needed to send them, including a copy of the home and auto declaration page from the new insurance company.
I checked with the new company and asked if the new insurance declaration pages were required and was told no; most likely Farmers wanted it to see the new rate I would be paying to try to match it to keep me as a client. I called Jessica back and asked if she received the other information required and that I would not be sending the new declaration pages. She then sent me an email, by accident, in which she made snide remarks about me thinking she had sent the email to the agent, Kevin Brown. This example should give anyone thinking about becoming a client with the Kevin Brown Agent office in Las Vegas an idea of what to expect in customer service and how they are regarded as a Farmers Insurance client.
As for the constant rate increases, I drive a 17-year old car and have not had any accidents, claims, or incidents, yet my insurance keeps going up. I live in the Las Vegas, NV area where we do not have tornadoes, hurricanes, floods, earthquakes, volcanoes, forest fires, etc., and yet my homeowners insurance keeps going up. It took only a couple of telephone calls to find matching insurance at a lower premium. I do not know how good the other Farmers Insurance agency offices are with customer service, but I would strongly advise anyone considering becoming a client of the Farmers Insurance Kevin Brown Agent office in Las Vegas, NV, to look anywhere else.

When we bought this house on contract the precious owner recommended the local Farmers agent Janet **. We promptly called her and bought a policy thinking that she knew the property well. In 6 years of paying premiums, she never once visited the property or did a review but was happy to take our monthly premiums. When we made a claim for a heating oil tank leaking in the basement, we were told that the policy did not cover that by the adjuster who called us. Calls to her office told us she was having family problems and could not be reached. Calls to the local Regional Director told us he was never available to talk with us. Stay away from this company at all costs. Go anywhere else.

My bad experience with Farmers insurance. I was hit by Farmers insurance insured driver who seemed to be very experienced with car accidents. The claim process has been a huge JOKE. At first I was given the worst customer service ever. The claim adjuster and his coworker looked very lazy, irresponsible, dishonest and untrustworthy. They keep changing stories and playing games. After investigating the accident and talking to the witness, they denied their insured total fault and refused to pay for fixing my car. If you want to avoid having trouble and hassles, do not insure your vehicles or properties with Farmers.

I initially bought farmers because they ended up being cheaper than my ins company. They slowly upped my rates thinking I wouldn't notice. Maybe I'm not sure why they did but I researched the company and found it is called "price optimization" and farmers is one of the worst for it. I even ran a new quote thru farmers own website and got a cheaper rate than what my bill was. I'll explain what price optimization is later down this post. Anyway I found insurance about 100 dollars cheaper for the same amount of coverage with a better company and bought it.
Canceling my Farmers policy was another matter. I have had Farmers for 3 yrs and never once have been able to talk to my agent - no answer on the phone - no return call... Most of the time I would get frustrated and just call the 800 number - but this time I was told [two times in fact because I tried again] that I had to talk to my agent - you cannot cancel off the 800 number. Well I never could and still never have been able to contact my agent... they called me when they thought I was overdue on my payment and wanted their money... a collection agency I'm not quite sure who it was [wasn't the agency]. But Farmers billed me for the time - 49 dollars in fact - for 23 days over that I could not get a hold of them...
Price optimization is what companies do to pad their corporate coffers - they use algorithms and formulas to calculate who and by how much they can raise your rate without you figuring it out and going to another company. So review your rates EVERY pay period... GEICO optimized me but I caught it... Farmers optimized me and my guess is I paid about a year before catching it. So ok Farmers you got a few extra bucks outta me - and in return gave me lousy customer service -- I'm at least gonna let everyone know I can about my Farmers experience - was it worth it????

I've been with Farmers for quite a few years. Was rear-ended in December, 2016 by an uninsured motorist. I had my car towed to a body shop recommended by Farmers. It took over 5 weeks to get it fixed. Obviously, Farmers did a poor job monitoring the repairs. Today I found out that the rental car agency I used (at Farmers' recommendation) charged my credit card over $1,000 because Farmers failed to set up the direct billing account - despite repeated assurance from Farmers that it was being taken care of (over a 5 week period). Avoid Farmers unless you want this type of negative experience and much wasted time on phone calls with them.

I filed a claim where I was at fault and damage was covered without hassle; unlike a situation in which we were not at all at fault, and Farmers defended us vigorously from the minor but frivolous claim. My insurance over the last 12 years had a moderately priced premium, very good coverage but also 99% excellent, incident free driving record. I would prefer USAA but their premiums are so much higher, and even though I have heard others with Farmers who had to fight tooth and nail to receive due payment, Farmers so far has been reliable, especially on the burning coverage vs. receiving coverage, and they have an excellent online, user friendly website for reviewing coverage and paying premiums.

No willingness to discuss options and/or provide helpful guidance... everything defaults to what the computer screen states. No personalized service or recommendations... always pushes corporate policies with little helpful recommendations. Our agent also does not provide any helpful suggestions... always pushes any issue back to a call center CSR! Farmers is in the business of collecting monthly escalating premiums with no offer of decreasing premiums for long term loyal customers. Bye-bye Farmers as soon as possible!

Our 2nd bad experience with Farmers. This time we were hit by a Farmers insured driver. Damage to our car and back injuries. The claims process has been a colossal joke. The claims agent is lazy, disrespectful and untrustworthy. They are trying to cheap their way out. It's been five weeks with no resolution. However, they did offer us a rental car... which we don't want or need! Helps me understand why insurance rates are through the roof because they try to take advantage of people which forces consulting with an attorney. Had they just settled fairly, it would have cost them $5,000. Now, we will demand much, much more. Farmers – yeah, they've seen a thing or two, but don't know jack squat.

WOW! Then on top of that they tell us if we don't take it to an aftermarket repair shop they select they may not pay the complete cost after we pay our deductible. They take incompetence and greed to a whole new level. Too bad there is not a 0 Star rating.

I just wanted a basic policy for myself and my 2000 Subaru. I had been paying for my 20 year old son while he was in school. I did not put him on my policy because he has graduated from school, lives on his own, owns his own car, it is registered in his name and he carries his own insurance through Progressive. After providing Farmers with a copy of his auto registration and proof of address they kept insisting that he had to be on my policy (just in case he should come to visit and needed to drive my car). I had asked about putting him on my insurance but they said that because he does not live with me, & was no longer a student he may not even be covered anyway. After paying my policy for 3 months they increased my premium $359.00 per month, insisting that my son be added. I cancelled the policy before the due date and have refused to pay the premium.
They have not even sent me an explanation. I only know what they did because of the run around they already put me through. They then sent my account to collections even though I cancelled the policy before it was due… Stay away. They are a ripoff. I had thought it would be good to have a local insurance agent but that was obviously a mistake as the agent was not capable of straightening anything out. I am now once again dealing with the collection agency and taking my son's insurance policy to another office to see if anyone else can fix this. I don't have very high hopes of anyone with Farmers being capable of accomplishing anything. I can't imagine what it would be like to make a claim! Totally useless organization.
I am 56 years old. My car is a 2000 Subaru and they want me to pay over $420.00 per month, just in case my son visits and drives me to the store. Had they been willing to actually put him on my policy and cover him and his car I might have done that. It would still have been cheaper than what he pays for his own policy. They couldn't guarantee that they would cover a claim because he doesn't live with me and isn't a student. Go figure! They are a joke.

I will never ever get an insurance through Farmers or recommend it to any one else for that matter. What a lousy business. I got in an car accident earlier this year, car was total loss and I sold it to a junk yard. I notified the agent but somehow she didn't cancel my insurance and I was paying it for months. When I noticed it I contacted the agent and to get my money reimbursed. After months of asking me for all kind of evidence that I really don't own the vehicle anymore (they saw the pictures and knew that the car was total loss) now they simply refuse to refund. I provided them the name of the junk yard AND more importantly hard evidence: the notice of transfer and reliability of the DMV (that states I don't own the car any more and from which date). That's not enough for Farmers. What a despicable way of doing business and customer service!

Recently totaled my 2003 Z71 Tahoe. The mileage on my vehicle with just 190K, it was in immaculate condition with no issues. Insurance came back and told me they were willing to give me $4500 for it. This is absolutely ludicrous as of this particular vehicle will cost about $9500. For what they are offering me, I cannot even replace my vehicle with the same exact vehicle in the same condition. Their offer will not even cover half of what they're going for. They say they are going based off blue book value but would consider upping it if I can show them proof that these vehicles go for more in this area.
I have sent them countless examples of what they go for in this area but they will not consider them because they are either one your new were one year older. Apparently 2003 Z71 Tahoes are rare in this area. I guess it doesn't matter that 2002 models just like it are going for well over what they are even offering me for mine and those are in bad condition. This is absolutely ridiculous. I pay to be covered and I get nothing in return.

I had someone rear end my 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee over a year ago. Farmers paid for the repair with no problem. However, under Oregon law you are also entitled to receive compensation for "Diminished Value". An accident will lower the resale value of your vehicle no matter how beautifully the repair was made. That's diminished value (or DV) and you are entitled to compensation for that additional loss. I had two DV estimates done by reputable companies and they both estimated that loss at over $5,000. You pay these companies to do this estimate and you have no idea what they value your loss at until you pay them and see the report. They get paid the same either way so there is no incentive for them to lie or inflate the value of the loss. It's an honest assessment. Farmers came back and said their expert valued the same loss at no more than $2,000. I refused the $2,000 and they came back with $2,250.
I complained that my vehicle suffered structural damage and that $2,250 is ridiculous. They came back with $2,500. This has been dragging on for over a year now and their offer is still less than half of the estimated loss. I chose Farmers because I believed they were a reputable company. This is not what I would have expected from them at all. Their adjuster even had the audacity to tell me my accident wasn't showing on CarFax and suggested I not mention the accident during a sale. I'm required by law to tell the buyer about this accident, especially since it involved structural damage! In fact, if I sold it to a dealership, I'd be required to sign a document of disclosure. Are these the actions of a reputable company? Is this the kind of service you would want to experience? Be your own judge. What good is paying for insurance if they treat you like this when you need them? Do yourself a favor and steer clear off Farmers.

Question? When you have the same auto insurance for 30 plus years at a local office shouldn't they provide the best service and value for your dollar? Here is the issue, I'm retired, I drive maybe 500 miles a year, my record is clean, I have an old Dodge pickup, my policy is for liability and uninsured motorist, with towing. I don't want to pay my premiums 6 months or a year in advance. My budget is done monthly. Why does Farmers penalize people for paying by the month? There isn't any justification for their trumped $5.00 handling fee! Ludicrous! My payments are made by me online with a card. Farmers doesn't do anything. All of my banks have gotten rid of these stupid fees because I do my business paperless. This is nothing but a ripoff of honest, safe drivers. Farmers collects millions of dollars using this bogus charge.
Went down to the local Farmers Ins office in town for a review and to do my updates, asked about this nagging charge and the agent couldn't give me a real explanation. I told the agent, "I do the transaction." There was nothing but a sly smile on their face. Then they asked me about paperless billing and I reminded them that I have been doing paperless billing from the very beginning! Yet they have been sending me all this crap in the mail regardless, then try to use that as an excuse to slap on a fee. And on top of all this the company tries to keep putting me on the Paper statements, as if this will justify the fees they keep imposing on all of us. Ridiculous, the auto insurance have put our elected officials in their pockets to force all of the law abiding citizens to carry auto insurance, but in my area the accidents involving uninsured motorists has skyrocketed.
We all pay for this. You read our local news and the police pull some dude over, they'll have warrants and no insurance, no license. Same person that you see driving around town the next week. So for protection against that I'll pay more, but getting charged these fake fees, let's get on the companies, let them know, we're fed up with paying for their vacations.

On 11/2/16 I had a problem with Farmers Billing (1-888-327-6377). I was billed $152 that was deducted from my checking account with Well Fargo Bank. My normal monthly bill was $31. As of this date (11/10/16) my checking account has been credited $104 from the amount that Farmers Billing had charged me on 11/2/16. Fortunately for me, I called the Farmers agents (**) in Spokane Washington and was treated with great respect and concern. I was extremely pleased with the help that I received from Alice and Jessica from their South Hill office. Although I was also charged a $30 overdraft fee by my bank (Wells Fargo) I have asked Alice to help me address this issue with Wells Fargo. Thanks to the immediate help from Farmers Insurance South Hill office. I am happy that I have retained Farmers Insurance for my auto and home needs.

Today (11/2/16) I found that I have an overdraft in my bank account. The reason was that Farmers Insurance had billed my account (they have direct withdrawal) $152 instead of the monthly $31 that I was expecting. I called the billing department and was then put on hold (approximately 2-3 minutes) so that I could be connected to a billing representative.
The first person I talked to said they were with billing but then transferred me to another person. I asked why I was being billed the $152 instead of my usual $31 and the person (she called herself "Lou") said that it was because I had previously added another vehicle to my policy in September. I told her that there was a mistake because I had only "considered" adding another vehicle to my policy and I had cancelled that vehicle from my policy the "next day" (my local representatives have a record of the transaction) and the confusion started when I asked the Farmers agent in September "how much it would cost to add another vehicle to my policy" (I was only doing research to see if I wanted to add another vehicle to my policy).
I was never given an answer to why I was billed $152 instead of $31 and the girl (she said her name was Lou - and wouldn't give me a last name) said that she didn't have to listen to the way I was talking to her when I said I was pissed because of Farmers Insurance charging my checking account $152 for a "monthly bill" so she hung up on me. I called my representatives in Washington and was told that they called Farmers Billing and were working to resolve the matter for me. Right now I have an overdraft of $94 on my account and my bank said that I would be charged an extra $30 plus the $94 if my account wasn't repaired in 24 hours.

I then called back to ask why, she then told me I never gave her a specific date so she never cancelled my insurance and told me I had to pay for the two months. I proceeded to ask why she never called back to tell me anything and was told "I assumed you changed your mind" after I called her and emailed that I wanted to cancel my insurance. That was such bs. Then Todd finally answers and has the nerve to tell me if I got video of the hit? Ummm... First I'm in my car, second it was a hit out of nowhere, third he took off asap. Todd do you have any brains at all? He was so disrespectful but makes sense after reading all these reviews. Sadly when you work for a company like this you should be more trained on how to handle claims and speaking to not only your customers but the victims of the accidents. I guess Farmers just hires people who need a job and don't give them the appropriate training on how to handle these kinds of situations. If you're a customer they're only looking to take your money and if you're a victim of an accident be ready to pay for your own losses. The Farmers client made an illegal left turn into the center lane of the same street as me and then abruptly made a lane change into my rear driver's side door. The Farmer's customer raced through an expired left turn arrow and lost control of his vehicle due to excessive speed. Farmers lied and said I turned right on red which is patently false. What happened was their client made an illegal left turn AFTER the left turn arrow expired and then about 5-6 car lengths down the road struck my vehicle. Suffice it to say, Farmers Insurance are liars, cheats and swindlers.

After days of going back and forth with Farmers and Enterprise, I was told I could not get a Tesla after all, and they offered a "comparable" SUV.
There is no comparable car to a Tesla, and to give me an SUV defeats the purpose of owning an electric car in the first place. The Santa Fe they promised is a gas guzzler and a pollution machine. Both reasons why I drive a Tesla and not a car like that. After 9 days I still do not have the rental, and the adjustor had not showed up. I have had auto/home insurance with Farmers for 15 years. With few if any claims I have been responsible for. In all auto related issues concerning disputes my Farmers agent in Santa Rosa consistently took the side of the company. The customer service has gone downhill over the 15 years. Recently my agent informed me I would be paying a increased premium for my Subaru WRX 5door hatchback. He said it was in a "performance/sports car" category. When I requested Farmers policy documentation details indicating a list of "performance/sports car" data it was not provided. When I contacted the Farmers District Manager he also refused to provide the information. I have an outstanding driving record. Assigning an extra insurance premium on my Subaru has nothing to do with my record. Cars do not break the law! People do! The "performance/sports car" category has nothing to do with my driving record.
Farmers Auto Insurance created that category for the purpose of increasing profits for the company. I requested documentation that Farmers would have to provide to the California Department of Insurance in approval of the "performance/sports car" category. Farmers failed to respond or provide information. I now have a formal complaint filed with the Ca. Dept. of Insurance against Farmers for non-disclosure and being in violation of corporate law related to lack of transparency. I would suggest that people never do business with Farmers Auto Insurance company. The complaints against them are substantial.

I've been working with Michael ** from Farmers Insurance for the last 2 weeks and HE'S THE ABSOLUTE WORST. 2 weeks ago one of their insured hit me when he ran a stop sign at an intersection, doing significant damage to my car. The front passenger side was completely bent in, leaving a big gap with an air bubble. I called them and asked them to send someone over to do an estimate and Michael told me they don't usually do that unless the car isn't driveable, that I'd have to go to a shop and have them do it. I tried to explain to him that the car ISN'T driveable, that I just don't feel safe driving it in its current state but he just didn't care and insisted I had to bring it to a shop to get an estimate.
I finally found a shop that could accommodate my schedule and location and they took a look at my car and told me I need to call Farmers and tell them to give me a rental, because this car isn't driveable. Only then did Michael set me up with a rental. After I got my rental from Enterprise, they told me that Farmers refused to cover my damage waiver on the rental because my insurance already covers a lot of that. I called Michael and asked that Farmers cover my damage waiver and surprise surprise, he said they don't usually do that. I pointed out that the accident was 100% their driver's fault and he said OK, they'll cover my damage waiver but first I have to get my insurance company to fax them a copy of my declaration.
I spent the next 2 days running around making sure all the appropriate documents were sent over (with Michael giving me the runaround repeatedly), and finally he called me and informed me that they won't be covering my damage waiver because my own insurance company already covers a lot of that. I'm so appalled at the way Farmers has treated me. They've just made everything as difficult for me as possible, and Michael is all smiles and politeness on the surface but really has no sense of decency whatsoever. He's not even professional by auto-insurance standards. (And that's saying a lot!) If I incur any financial damages from this experience I fully plan to sue them.

My son had a small at fault accident a couple of years ago, and I also had an at fault accident a year ago. Our rates went up slightly, but minimally. For the few preceding years, our rates stayed the same. We shop rates every year, and Farmers has come in number one every time. Sometimes they're close, but always the best price. I have a house and 4 vehicles on our policy.

The mistake was recognize, and promises were made to reconcile the issue. A month later, I received a final notice from my mortgage company stating that no action had yet been taken. Farmers has been derelict in their responsibilities. I signed up with the understanding that I would have a personal agent, close by. That has not been the case. The auto policy was supposed to be cheaper than what I had been paying. After signing up and cancelling my auto policy, it turned out the underwriter disagreed with the agent and we had to make changes. It has been nothing but one nightmare after another. We can't do anything until the Claims Representative returns from Labor Day's weekend on Tuesday, can't Farmers Insurance have someone else to assist us in the meantime? We don't have a second car. Let them know that they would have to tow the vehicle because it was not drivable with no brakes. They towed the vehicle. Took it to the shop be repaired all the body damage and then told me that the brake problem was an issue before the accident and was not caused by the accident but now all the evidence that could support that position is gone. So I had to pick up my vehicle with no brakes on a trailer. Tow it to a shop to get a new master cylinder put on. So I have a vehicle with brakes before the accident and then after the accident no brakes but then they destroy all the evidence that would support their liability.

When I went to my agent (Sacramento, CA) he ripped the letter and quietly told me, just pretend like you didn't get this letter. "Farmers just wants to charge you more for driving more" he said. I appreciate his honesty, but really? Is this really the best way to conduct business?
When I had my one and only accident (my fault, total damage $3048) they didn't even care to ask if I'm ok... They down-talked to me like to a total loser (well because they lost money of course). Not what you expect after being a loyal customer for 10 years. Issue: They did not let me know that they will charge a monthly service fee, and depending on support agent not clear at all on how to avoid this fee. This really should be illegal!
They provide your basic insurance charges without any explanation on "fees". Then they do not provide a clear path to resolve the issue (depending on the support person you get). Please be forewarned to ask allot of questions when signing up and keep a close eye on monthly bills. Honestly, I am seriously worried if I file a claim what Farmers response would be. In the time between the new appraisal and the county appraisal there was a hail storm. Basically the Farmers rep said that their "program" did the appraisal and they would not change the evaluation. I have never written a review in my life unless it was positive. Then again, I don't think I have ever been screwed over so bad by an agent working for a major company like Farmers! Long story short, I was added onto my grandmother's policy for auto insurance (she has had home insurance with them for many years). Our agent Mike acted so polite at first. I called him to clarify the amount of coverage my grandma and I were actually receiving. He had spoke with her first so when I called about this it was the first time Mike and I talked. When he spoke to my grandma he made it sound like it was all full coverage for both our vehicles, but it wasn't. So we talked it over and fixed all the areas that were incorrect.
Luckily my grandmother asked Mike to email us with this quote that we went over together and include the monthly payment and first time payment amount. He emailed us, the amount to be taken out of my account was $234.76. About 2 days later I see that my account has been charged for $314.21. I called Mike and he couldn't seem to give us any solid answers of why he charged me so much. I asked to speak to a manager. And it's him! He owns the business, which is very sad... because when something like this happens you want answers, and when the manager/owner cannot answer these questions, there's a serious problem. SO I continue to ask him, if the amount to be paid was $234.76 then why was I charged so much more? First he says the insurance was $258.00 not $234.76... but I had it right there in writing what we discussed and printed out for our records. He continued to act as if we were miscalculating.
Then he said we called a million times and he has been so nice to us (this guy is supposed to be there to answer questions right?)... I said, "OKAY Mike, even if it was $258.00 (which it wasn't) then what was the other $57 charged." He then tells me he filed an SR22 form on me, which at the time I did not know what that was. He said that because I was in a car accident the year before and I had a point on my license, that I was a high risk driver. Well, I didn't know for sure if this was true since I had never heard of such a thing... so I called another insurance company (Progressive) and the agent told me that in order to have a SR22 form you would have needed to have your license suspense from a DUI or have been pulled over or been in an accident with no insurance. Neither has ever happened to me. Never had any tickets, DUIs or had a car that wasn't fully covered.
The last car I owned was financed from a dealership so it needed to be fully covered. Then I was in a head on collision so I totaled it and for medical reasons (concussion) I couldn't drive for awhile and received a point for the accident. But not for a DUI or no insurance... JUST TO BE EXTRA SURE, I called the DMV. She informed that I DID NOT NEED such a form, and if I did that the DMV would notify me by mail. I called Mike back and explained all this information I had just absorbed. He replied by saying, "Well sounds like you're happy with this other insurance company so you should go with them"... Well, yes Mike... I will... but I'm still wondering what all that extra money that was charged to my account is for? He said the SR22 form is $25, but that anywhere else it is $200-$300 to file. BUT I DON'T NEED TO FILE... so why did he do this without my consent? No answers.
Then I asked that still leaves about $38 bucks that is not accounted for that I was charged... No answers. He then hung up on me and refused to pick up my calls because I was "so upset"... Wouldn't you be upset? Anyway, I had my grandmother call Mike back and ask Mike if he will email the fees he charged us for and also email the reason he filed an SR22 form... He refused to do both saying I was "upset and rude" to him so he will not email anything over. It's my information, I am paying to have this insurance, but he cannot email me the fees and charges...? Not professional, not honest, not right. I cancel the policy that day.
Next morning I find out he charged me TWICE! I was overdrawn by $123.00. I called my bank and filed a claim against it and the pending amount was reversed to my account and the second charge will be reversed in 2 to 3 business days. JESUS. I will never be with Farmers Insurance again simply because of Mike. If you can't be honest about fees and charges or do things legally (like ask consent to be filing forms you shouldn't be filing for $$) THEN don't be an agent, because it looks terrible on the company itself. I sure hope this doesn't happen to anyone else... I suggest another insurance company... or at least not the one in Corona.

Now after my car was broken into and everything was stolen, now they haven't covered anything because Junior ** neglected to mention anything about an extra coverage for after market equipment. So after going on 4 months now of going back and forth between corporate and the employees at this here farmer's.

I contacted Farmers Insurance to get a quote for auto insurance when my teenage son got his drivers license. At the time, we were insured by State Farm. Once my son got his license the premiums went up by $300 per month so I decided to shop around. I contacted Allstate and Progressive along with Farmers for a quote. Allstate and Progressive were about the same cost as State Farm, but the quote I got from Farmers was same as it was before our son got his license. I even asked the agent, Steve Gawlik, why it was so much less than all the others and he stated that Farmers doesnt penalize new drivers like the others do. I agreed to purchase the policy and after the initial payment was made I was sent a policy and the insurance cards listing myself, my wife and my son as drivers.
Because we were saving over $300 per month we had decided to lease a new car for our son rather than have him drive an old beat up car for obvious safety reasons. Even with the new car listed the premium didnt really change. Everything was fine for the first year, but then I got a notice from Farmers stating our premium was being raised by about $350 per month. When I questioned what the increase was for I was told that my son was never listed on the policy and now that he is a licensed driver we would have to pay the higher premium. I explained that he has been a licensed driver since before we purchased the policy a year ago. Thats when I found out about the agent that sold the policy Steve Gawlik.
It appears the Mr. Gawlik in an effort to make a sale, sold me the policy under false pretenses. He falsified the documents he sent the home office stating that my son only had a learners permit but sent me documents stating he was one of the licensed drivers on the policy. Thats the reason the quote was so low and why. Then after a little research I found out the at the time Mr. Gawlik sold me the policy he was under federal indictment for fraud in a previous real estate scam. I can only imagine what would have happened if my son had been involved in a serious accident while we were insured under this fraudulent policy. And to make matters worse Farmers didnt think it was a big deal since we saved so much money for the last year.
First of all saving the money wasnt the issue. We leased a new vehicle for my son based on fraudulent information we were given by A Farmers Insurance rep who they allowed to work while under federal indictment without any oversight. I also found out from the new agent they put me with that he was dealing with dozens of Mr. Gawlik's clients the he perpetrated the same fraud on. The worst part of all this is that Farmers Insurance never contacted me with any of this information until they sent me a rate increase and thought there was no problem with them employing someone like Mr. Gawlik.
To add insult to injury, after I canceled the policy and paid the final premium, I recently got a letter from a collection agency demanding an additional $64 Farmers claimed was still due to them based on when my son was actually listed. Something I was totally unaware of until the collection agency contacted me. I hope all the other people that were cheated by Farmers Insurance and their agent Steve Gawlik speak up so everyone will know how Farmers treats their customers... BEWARE!

I asked to be released from my contract and my agent (cheerfully) complied, but I was told I had to pay for one last month, that is, the premium for February of 2011. I paid that, but the next month I received another bill. I was told I had to pay that one, too. I asked why and I was given some gobbledygook about how I hadn't fully paid for my policy.
I kept paying for several months, always being assured that that particular payment would be my last. After 4 or 5 months I called them and said I wasn't paying them anymore. They began to send me threatening letters and then turned me over to a collection agency. I contacted the state insurance commissioner's complaint department where I was told my agent's behavior was definitely unethical. I filed a complaint, but the collection agency's calls stopped right after I told one gentleman that I was going to contact the insurance commissioner AND file a complaint, that is, BEFORE I even filed the complaint.

Someone insured by Farmers pulled out of a driveway in front of my motorcycle without looking. I was nearly killed, and suffered multiple broken bones, severe head injury, and permanent damage to my body. They outright deny the claim, even though the law is very clear regarding right of way, and have since sent me to collections for the damages to their insured's vehicle, are getting my license suspended due to these collections, and have ruined my credit and left me holding the $8000 bill for my motorcycle payoff. The officer did not cite the other driver who claimed I was speeding for failure to yield, nor did he cite me for speeding. This company is ruining my life and I will never take a policy with them, or allow anyone in my family too.

After my last experience with farmers insurance, I will not recommend them to anyone. Yes, it was an okay deal to begin with however everything change this month. I signed up for the ETF debits to taken out of my account and each month they had difficulty taking it out of my checking account. When it came time for renewal, they told me they wouldn't offer the ETF discount and that I would have to pay each month manually. I spoke with a customer agent to get this resolved and I thought everything was going to go smoothly for the next month but it DIDN'T!!! I added a new checking account and credit number they could withdrawal from and to my surprise they somehow magically pulled the money out of the WRONG ACCOUNT! My bank charged me NSF fee and I had several "chats" with Farmers customers service. They are not help and make PROMISES. I guess they can honor PROMISES because they are made to be broken.
I had to pay my insurance through the CORRECT account that was on their records and several days later Farmers is charging me again for twice the amount! I have been transferred to different "excellent, superior" customer care agents, supervisors but they expect me to do the runaround for them when they are the ones who made the MISTAKE in the first place!!! Now I'm out $200 which they will not return to me immediately and expect me to have official bank statements, account numbers, etc in order for them to REFUND MY MONEY!!! On top of that, they said for LEGAL REASONS, they cannot credit my account for the next month and half, but can issue a check after THEY REVIEW AND FEEL IT IS SUFFICIENT to issue a CHECK!
If anyone is thinking of going to Farmer's Insurance, re-think this again! I have been a customer and I thought this would be a good relationship but it is not!!! Their "excellent, superior" care agents, supervisors wrote an email response back to me indicating it's my fault when in fact they were able to place a timeline that places me in the ABSOLUTE RIGHT!!! They admitted the error but I'm the one who has to jump through hurdles to get my money back and make sure the documents I submit to them is SUFFICIENT for them to give me back my money!!! I hope others will learn my "MISTAKE!"

I was on a combined household with my little sister just due to the fact that we have been on a policy together since we were first learning to drive/insured on our parents' vehicles. I recently called my local agent to separate myself from her due to her horrible driving history and excessive accidents. They assured me numerous times my rates were not effected by her poor driving record. I still did not feel comfortable and asked to be disassociated with her all together for my own peace of mind. She typed away at her computer and then gave me my new policy number and told me I was saving money... Hmm. Ok, fine. One week later my sister totals her car while driving. Carolyn **'s agency in Sonora, CA had royally screwed up when splitting our policies. The entire accident, claim, etc., was filed under myself as the vehicle owner, driver, and is now showing on my MVR.
I have spent hours on the phone trying to get someone to correct this mistake. They updated the claim on their end, so that the claim money paid out my sister who's now driving around a brand new car, and I am still dealing with insurance/DMV back and forth. I haven't been able to cancel this agent/policy because this accident is showing up on my record and the rates have skyrocketed. I have been told by local agent she is "working with underwriters" to fix this. DMV can't do anything without insurance. I have called corporate and they just keep referring back to Sam **, the local district manager in my area, who has not once returned my call. I spoke to an associate in his office who was fairly helpful, once, but after 16 days of spending countless hours on the phone, nothing has been resolved.

My car was vandalized on 8/21/15. My deductible comprehensive is $750. My issue is mainly with agent Jae **. When I agreed to this coverage I didn't know there was a better alternative. I was mislead into a coverage that wouldn't do me any good in the long run. I just told him that I don't want to pay too much for insurance per month and if he can give me a cheaper rate. We ended up with a deductible of $750/$750. So I went ahead and agreed to this coverage without having a clue as to what I'm signing up to. This agent never advised me as to what other coverage options I have. If he would have offered me something better which I'm finding out now that $250 comprehensive would have been a better choice, I would go with that option.
Next, when my car got vandalized I called him and he was completely unprofessional on the phone. Basically, he laughed at my friend and I telling us, "It's not my problem" and then hung up the phone. So first, he was negligent when selling me insurance and failing to protect the customer with a good coverage, and secondly he was disrespectful over the phone in his demeanor. Sure I got upset too, but who wouldn't. Look at all these reviews here as it is pretty clear that Farmers only cares about their bottom line and treats their customers like trash. After being with Farmers for quite a few years I won't be staying with them. I'm an excellent driver and I'll take that excellence elsewhere, where at the very least I won't be disrespected on the phone by an incompetent and unprofessional agent.
I contacted the District Manager regarding this agent's lousy behavior and felt like he continued to play favorites by covering this agent. District Manager told me that this agent is an independent contractor and they haven't had complaints about him in the last 5 years. Really?!? So if he is an independent contractor and they haven't had any complaints it means that it is okay that he is unprofessional and negligent. It's like the District Manager doesn't even care about the disgusting behavior of this agent. I'm not buying into this! A complaint is a complaint and it does not matter if it is a first one. There is a first for everything. If anyone needs a copy of the email from the District Manager I will gladly provide it.
I also filed a complaint with California Insurance Commissioner. I talked to Alex in the claims department and he said there's nothing they can do because I signed a contract. Yes sure, I signed a contract in which the agent sold me a lousy policy that wouldn't do me any good in the long run simply because the agent did a lazy job from the start. So I guess I'm suppose to be paying for this incompetent agent's mistake. The agent's job is to advise clients about insurance coverages so that the client can choose what is the best option, this agent FAILED TO DO ANY OF THIS. And of course he will probably lie through his teeth claiming that he explained all the different policies. If he would I wouldn't be stuck with a $750 comprehensive deductible. I was under the impression that this was the last best choice, too bad I learned it the hard way that it isn't.

My wife and I were at a stop sign behind a truck, and the truck out of nowhere started backing up. I started honking my horn and sure enough they backed into US. I got out and so did the driver of the truck in front of us. She asked if we were ok (my wife and I) and we said yes. She started apologizing and was lying on a sob story about her having surgery and having physical therapy to walk again. She said that this was one of her first times driving since then. I said, "I am sorry that happened to you but I need your insurance." She got it out and I took down all information and took pictures. We didn't call police because it was a so called fender bender. Well we said our goodbyes and we called her insurance by Farmers. They took our information down and started the claim. After a few days they called us and said the driver told them that she never put her vehicle in reverse?! What!? So we were upset at this point and called the lady.
She sounded very upset and perplexed. She said. "Well my husband got in a motorcycle accident a while back and we never got anything out of it!!" Seriously! So we talked to her more and she said she talked to the Farmers guy and he kept asking about a police report. Weird. So he told her to not admit to it since it was our word against her's and there was no video proof or third party witness. I will never use Farmers insurance. Thought they were supposed to take care of people. Not look out for themselves while cheating people and insuring people like the lady that hit us.

I tried getting all my insurances together my other auto didn't insure my b and b, so took my cars over where my home and rentals were with Farmers for 10 years... Never had a claim. Dealing with agent in B.A. ok. FOR FARMERS. for my cars to consolidate them into my existing policy. Agent is at his computer typing out my cars policy and told me "oh looks like you had a incident." Which was backing up at a grocery store (which I had forgotten it was about 2 year before with the company that I was insured with presently and at the time of the incident.)
The agent suggestion to me, "let's go ahead and submit it." If they reject it they will send it back to me. I paid a full year. $1279 at that time. Well in a few weeks I get a notice that my premium for my cars just doubled. I call the agent. He say "Sugar, don't worry you are paid up", because I ask him "what is this!!" "I paid the year. Don't worry you're ok." Couple weeks pass I get same notice. Pissed. Called again. (WITHOUT HESITATION HE SAID "DON'T WORRY IT'S OK!!" He didn't have time to even look what I was talking about either time.
Another couple weeks pass I get notice I am cancelled. I have no insurance on my cars for lack of payment. (I PAID IN FULL $1279 TO START WITH. In my life I had never been without car insurance nor in a accident with someone. Really angry I call the Broken Arrow Agent. He wasn't in. Didn't call back before I fax several pages what he did and he no longer had my business. Didn't hear from him. Waiting to get my refunds back for all my accounts. In process of me changing my business and being busy, time goes by. I called Farmers C. Service. They tell me they had reinstated me so fraudulently they used all the $1279 up. And the 6 months I had paid on my homeowners and rentals. In which I was cancelled by my notification to the agent and getting a notification from them, as well. Those were cancelled because I quit paying when they cancelled my cars, in my fax.
Farmers reinstated my home and all my rentals. Reinstated me without my knowledge. Used that portion of money that was left after I cancelled due to stupidity about my cars. Farmers continued insuring me after my 6 months payments, on Homeowners, in which is against their policy to give insurance without payment. Farmers let me know they had put me on a collection circuit. For mistakenly insuring me without money because I had cancelled months before. This is 6 or 9 months after I cancelled.
I finally got a letter in 2014 saying they dropped the collection agency. Really! They cost me $1279 because they cancelled me because I didn't report I had a incident (no ticket) backing up in neutral to a car sitting there with existing damage on the other side old car. I looked. No car was there. He said he honked 3 times, time enough to move I was in neutral. I did what the agent said. He submitted to see if they reject it because it would soon be expired the time they set.. He told me it was about to expire. No more was said. I don't say "oh sign this" to say 2 years ago you rolled back into a front panel of a car. Just look for yourself at all the bad things happen to folks, that pay good money only to get all the heart ache this company has created for them. Never to correct or admit any wrong doing. I LOST PROBABLY $1500 OR MORE. IF YOU HAVE MONEY YOU CAN BE A BULLY AND GET BY WITH IT.

Avoid this company!! I've never had such a horrible experience with a company before. I signed up for Farmers insurance about 2 months ago and have had nothing but horrible service up until this point. When I set up my account, I signed up for automatic payments which was a huge mistake. My payment date was originally scheduled for the 12th of every month, and called to change it to the 19th. Easy change (so I thought). I checked my bank account on the 13th, only to see that Farmers had deducted the money anyway, nearly $200. This caused my bank account to drop to a negative balance, and as a result, I received an overdraft fee from my bank.
I called Farmers, and there was nothing they could do to reverse the charge until I was in contact with my bank. Long story short, I received over 7 overdraft fees because of Farmers' mistake, and Farmers gave me the runaround asking me to send numerous documents to their accounting department to PROVE that I wasn't lying about the charges, after it was their mistake!! It's been over a month and I still have not received a refund. I've asked to speak with a manager, and every time I try contacting them, I have to speak to a new person who knows nothing about the situation. They have a lack of concern for my issues and could care less about the problems I've had. I would highly recommend not using this company if you're looking for personal and exceptional service...Farmers is far from that.

I have never had a problem with roadside assistance before this, which is why I give 2 stars instead of 1. However, this experience was enough to make me never want to use their service again. My car broke down on the side of the highway while I was driving out of state, and I'm convinced that the first representative I spoke to relayed zero information. Not only did I have to repeat myself, but he told me I would receive a confirmation text with an ETA in a couple minutes after speaking with him. (This is while sitting in a car that would not start in 110 degree weather.) I did not receive a text, but rather a phone call half an hour later asking me the exact information I had just given the previous representative.
After that conversation, still no text. Then, a supervisor finally took over the case half an hour later, asked me the exact same information, and about half an hour after that, said she could get a tow truck in forty minutes, but it would cost more than double my coverage. Or, we could wait in the hot car for 4 hours for a driver who would be fully covered. Obviously we took option one. Finally the tow truck driver himself called (again asking for the same information) and arrived in 20 minutes and charged less than Helppoint had quoted. Thankfully, my passenger and I did not die of heatstroke while all this was happening, but I am dissatisfied to say the least.

A while back I had an accident on private property (the parking lot of the US Postal Service). I was backing out and had just put my car in first to leave when I was hit by a car pulling into the space behind me. Though it was on private property, an Pismo, CA police officer did respond. From the damage of the cars and statements, he concluded that it was both our fault, because I had been backing up and he said he would have cited the other driver for speeding.
I was in the process of changing Farmers agents because my agent had relocated out of town. Both agents felt I would not be found at fault, or at least the most would be 50-50. The Farmers adjuster (I believe he was in Arkansas or somewhere) wasn't the least bit interested in any information from the police officer. From the agent's statements, you could tell he couldn't even figure out the configuration of the parking lot. He was arrogant and condescending. He wasn't interested in a statement from the officer. The way he spoke to me, I think his decision was based on the fact that I was a female, senior citizen. He found that I was totally at fault!
I would NEVER recommend Farmers to anyone and have let all my friends know. I had been driving 58 years at the time of the accident. I had never had an at fault accident in my life and, being a single mother for many years, fully employed, etc., had driven many miles. I worked for a law enforcement agency and was told I could out-drive many of their officers. I have always been a very careful driver. The end is that my insurance was raised $200.00 a year. I took my 2 cars and house off of Farmers insurance and went with another agency. Because of my good record, the new agency, Progressive, didn't charge me more for this accident. I ended up paying them what my insurance cost had been before the accident. My advice to others, do NOT go with this company. Their adjusters are terrible, know-it-all and condescending. It may have turned out different if it had been male driver instead of me.

I had a claim with Farmers in which took 30 days to resolve. I originally bought Farmers insurance because they had what I thought was excellent customer service. Farmers is by far more expensive than most, which is fine if they cover you in your time of need. I've been a client for over 20 years and had never filed a claim. I always assume you get what you pay for but this wasn't the truth in this situation. During the claim I was transferred three times to different agents. It seemed like no one knew what to do. I was finally put on with one of the agents. It started off terrible and the service stayed the same. The agent was incredibly hard to get a hold of. I would hear from her a couple days after calling multiple times and leaving voice mails. She took two vacations which was partly the reason it took so long. She never kept me in the loop.
When the verdict came, they had every excuse in the book why they wouldn't cover me. Not that I expected to be covered but I expect better customer service. I thought that maybe 20+ years and multiple policies that that might mean something but I guess not. I will never ever pay a single dollar to Farmers insurance. Not saying another insurance would of covered me but I expected more since the policies were 40-50% higher than other quotes I've had over the years and a long relationship stating. The claim was small and was only a small portion of what I pay annually. So money was never the issue. Do not over pay with Farmers. Use Progressive, Nationwide, AAA, State Farm, ECT.

We have used Farmers insurance company for our home and auto insurance for several years now. We have had one issue after another with them, but we seemed to be able to get a resolution to them rather than having them become a continuous pile of issues. The biggest issue being their rapidly climbing rates. The other big deal with Farmers Ins. is that they are continually paying our taxes late, and we keep getting charged penalties because of the late payments. We have talked to our agents about this, and were told that the penalty for the late payment was their fault, therefore they would take care of it.
Upon looking at our latest tax bill, they have been taking care of it alright, through our "escrow account" of our mortgage company. We've been the ones that have been taking care of the penalties. We have our taxes and insurance payments, together with our mortgage payment, so there is an "escrow" account. So as we pay our monthly payment, a portion of the payment goes to this account, and is set aside for the taxes and insurance when they are due. According to our tax payment history, we have been late in all but 3 payments since we have had Farmers for our insurance. We have always asked why we kept getting a rate increase, since our driving histories hasn't changed and we have no points or accidents on our records. This is a "general rate increase to offset the increase of labor, parts and lawsuits".
Just recently (2/3/15), we added a second vehicle and our daughter, who is temporarily living with us. In order for her to get to work, she needed a car and insurance. The rate increase was 68.00 dollars a month. No problem, in fact we were very surprised! Then the barrage of letters and notifications started less than 5 days had passed since we were quoted a new rate. Then we were given a rate that was 500% more. We were told that our daughter had 5 tickets in the last 3 years and we could get AN EXACT COPY OF THE REPORT FROM LEXISNEXIS, with their "clue identification #". I called the LexisNexis company, gave the information I was told to include, and was told the report would be at our house in 7-10 days.
What came was a letter stating that the information requested could not be given, as they weren't able to identify me with the information given. I called the number they included and was told that I couldn't have the exact info, because their records were changed on a daily basis. I informed them that on their website and letter it states that an exact copy would be sent upon request. I also stated that the majority of the information contained within the letter that increased our policy amount was incorrect and asked how to get it corrected. I was informed that I could pay for a copy of the letter, with the Fair Credit Reporting Act and it wasn't their job to correct the information, but it was the insurance companies' responsibility. They were a seller of information, not a problem corrector.
The information they include is from several different companies. I verified that they sold information about people to Insurance companies, but didn't care about the accuracy of the information that they sent, or what the results of the incorrect information could be to people. When calling Farmers with this info, I was told that it WAS NOT their job to correct the information that they were sent. 3 of the 5 tickets that were said that my daughter obtained were not true, and can be proven. In fact one of the tickets was during a time when she was not even driving, nor did she have a vehicle. She was living with us and we only had one vehicle, which was being used by my significant other to get back and forth to work and to get me to my doctor appointments. From 11/14- 2/15, she did not have access to a vehicle, did not drive a vehicle, and was not even in the geographical areas of where the ticket was supposed to have been given!
It was up to LexisNexis, after this 3 day circle to nowhere, the issue just got worse. Our new policy was to begin 4/23/15. Yesterday an automatic deduction for 896.81 was removed from our account, one month early AND the amount to be paid, was now doubled. I have called and left 4 messages, and have not received 1 call from them. I can't believe what they are trying to get away with. In getting quotes to change ins. companies, I was told step by step instructions on how to get this corrected and the phone numbers of the agencies to call, and get it corrected immediately!
Just someone who was as angry as we were about the actions of this so-called "for the people, with their best interest at heart" insurance company. What a joke! But here is the information for all of you who want a agent with great job ethics and who seems to go way beyond that extra mile. Freeway insurance company; 619 299 4900. (I hope that this is okay with everyone that I added this here!).

He sent me information on a collision repair center and when I got there they had a rental car ready to go for me. This was the best process I had ever experienced. Everything was taken care of within a few hours. My agent even offered to drive to the accident if I needed him. The coverage and service has been great. I highly recommend Farmers Insurance.

I have been a State Farm insured customer for 50+ years and decided it was time to look at other companies. Farmers had a great rate and I agreed to accept and cancelled my State Farm policy Feb 02, 2016. A day later I received cancellation notice effective Feb 06, 2015. I now being told that Farmers is going to bill me for the complete month of Feb stating now that policy was cancelled Feb 26! Someone can't read their own email or just being TOTALLY DISHONEST! I have Allstate insurance now received after Farmers Insurance cancelled. Now, Farmers wants me to prove to them that I have Auto Insurance. WHY?

I used to be with Farmers and then with State Farm and went back to Farmers 6 months ago. We had not had any claims in all that time and then I backed into a vehicle. The adjuster that looked at her car called me and said the total was $951 and I was happy because under $1000 no increase. Then just found out that that the total somehow went to $2319. I have to call them tomorrow to find out why but that does not make sense. What I have been told so far does not make sense.
I am now looking for other insurance but looking at all the companies on this list and they all have many negative issues. You pay for years and years and nothing just paying and paying and you have something minor and not only did they give me bad information they are likely to raise my rates. They are too high already. Something has to be done about this. How can they get away with telling you one amount for a claim and change it by $1300 more??? From what I see on this complaints we are all hardworking people just trying to make it all work. The insurance companies all seem to be in for the money and not the clients. I am so very disappointed and really fed up.

I have been having problems with Farmers for a while now. It started last year, I had to file a claim due to when we had a severe flood. The flood caused damage to the bottom of my car. I was told that it would be covered, I was given a rental car and they towed my car to their shop. The claim was September 6, 2014. I never heard from anyone for over 30 days. I tried several times to contact the adjuster, but I always got the voice mail or was told she was on vacation. Then finally, on October 24th I was contacted by the body shop that my car had been at, telling me to come pick up my car. Nothing was ever fixed! It actually was worse then when it had gotten taken there. So then since it took them over 30 days to do no work to my car, Enterprise said that Farmers will only cover 30 days and I'm responsible for the remainder of the days. Which this was unfair, due to it not being my fault that Farmers took so long.
Now, I'm currently in an active claim that had happened on November 10, 2014. I was at a convenient store when my car was basically vandalized by a gentleman that wanted me to pay him to paint my car. The insurance adjuster, Lauren, had came out to look at the car on January 16,2015. She had said it was claimed as a total loss then proceeded to get an estimate for the car. She advised me that I would receive a call for a total amount within the next few days.
Then I get a call from Zachary, a total loss specialist on January 23. He said he had to do a recorded call on exactly what happened. So that was done. Then, I'm told that he is unsure of what is going to happen with the claim. That it's in investigations. I've tried contacting him many of times to figure out what is going on. I don't understand why Lauren tells me it will be a few day process then now its been 3 months. Just like my previous claim, which never was even done.
Back in October, I had called my agent and set up my payment with him, that was on October 5th. Then October 14th, I get a call from him saying that the payment hadn't processed correctly. So I had given him the correct card number and he told me everything is fine. Then on January 21st, I get pulled over and the officer stated that I had an insurance lapse. I was completely in denial because I was up to date with Farmers. Well, my car was towed and the officer took my tags. I spoke with Jason and he said he remembers exactly what had happened but my insurance had never canceled. So I went to the MVA and they told me that my lapse was from October 5,2014 until October 14,2014. I explained I was still with Farmers and told them about the payment that was processed wrong.
They said that I should not have had a lapse that fast and to get a FR-19 from Farmers. I call and speak to a gentleman named Rick in Direct Services Department. I explained everything to him. He was nice at first until he seen I'm no longer with Farmers. I told him it's because my car was towed so I had no need to pay for insurance until I get this situation fixed. He then got very mean and stated "I don't have to provide ** since you're no longer a customer!" He was yelling and cursing at me. I then asked him for his name and he said Rick, I asked for his last name. He stated "I do not have to tell you **!" So then I asked to speak to his supervisor and he refused to let me speak to anyone else. I couldn't believe the way he was yelling at me.
So now, I'm stuck without my vehicle on the road. I'm unable to go to work, I'm stuck with all of these fines which I don't think I should have to pay. The MVA had said I need to file a complaint due to all of the problems I'm having with Farmers. I have been paying a lot of money to be insured so that if any type of damage or accident happens, it should be covered. No one should have to go through all the things I have with their insurance. It's just not fair! I have to have transportation for work. Also for my daughter to go to school and I'm also pregnant and it's been too much stress for me to handle. I can't even make it to my doctor's appointments. Thank you for your time.

For example on telling what exit I am, the person was not able to locate the exit while I found online and told where the exist is exactly.
Car is out of control and she is asking where we want to take the car.... On telling nearest car repair shop, she took 10 minutes to find the nearest shop and again did not find the info that the shop is opened or closed since it was Sunday evening. I told, "Why don't you send the roadside assistance" and meanwhile we decide where to take the car. She did not agree and asked me harassing questions for more than an hour. Finally my husband hit the car against the curb/divider again and again and stopped it.
The roadside assistance came after 3 hours. It was just very horrible, very frustrating. They do not understand the situation... They understand only money taking and maybe wait till the car does meet an accident so they can put fault on drivers. Very horrible. We were so scared, afraid and frustrated that day.. Cannot tell. I asked my GL insurer if they could give me a quote and not only could they include both personal and work vehicles on one policy it was about 3/4 of the cost. Naturally I switched over. With 21st if I was late in payment (contracting is not a steady check), they would terminate coverage, but farmers also sent a bill for additional cost and when I went to pay them 27 days after due date they already sent it to collections. I have been with Farmers for 10 years, but finally I have decided to leave for another auto insurance company. The reason is simple: I am fed up with their adjusters' wrong decisions of my three car incidents. The most recent one is on 07/01/2014 when a car cut in front of me and caused damages on my car. It is a hit-and-run. The other party ran away after running into my car from behind on a driveway and caused damages on my car. I got his car license number, went to the police, and filed a counter-claim. Farmers' adjusters and supervisors decided to pay me only 50% of my car repair cost. This is third time when their adjusters believe lies of the other party and made the wrong decision to punish me.
The second time is in 2012 when I hit bottom leftover bricks off my neighbor's fence located at 90-degree turning corner in the middle of the night, which had been knocked out by another neighbor. Farmers mistakenly paid her more than $6,800 when the cost is only less than $300. Farmers did not believe me and believed the fraudster's lies. I got 5 points on my driving record because of their mistake.
The first time was in 2007 when a young man from out of town cut in front of me at a cross, crashed my car, and injured me. The police told me that he was a student and could not afford my damages and injury. I listened to the police and did not claim from his insurance although it was obviously his fault. To my surprise, he claimed from my insurance. The more shocking is that Farmers gave him more than $6,800 without letting me know. I called and found out how incompetent my adjuster was -- he believed all the lies from the young man. I personally lost about $10,000 for my medical expenses and car damages. Farmers raised my premium and I got points on my driving record for the other party's fault. Whoever is there reading my complaint, I hope my bad experiences will stop you from choosing Farmers. My patience had reached limits and I cannot tolerate Farmers anymore.

I thought I could sit back and relax for the next payment until Oct 2014.
Regard to the conversation over the phone with Farmers' underwriter, my policy has been cancelled by Farmers' due to non-payment because Farmers' insurance refunded the payment I made few days later, which I never expected.
Ridiculous saturation #1) Farmers' insurance refunded back to a credit card I haven't been used for a year. In other words, I used another credit card to make the payment. I didn't know it, until I check all my credit card accounts one by one today, however the person over phone would condemn me for not checking my credit card statement. I was turning left out of a gas station which was not across from any other entrances or exits on a six-lane major road in Nashville, TN. The traffic had stopped for a red light and backed up to where I was exiting but all 3 lanes of cars did not block me from leaving the station. When I very cautiously made my way into the turn lane aka the middle lane, no one was coming down it and no one was entering it and I was safe to make a full left turn. As I looked to make sure the oncoming traffic was still halted at the red light, a driver driving down the turn lane on my left side swerved into the oncoming traffic lane and hit me on my front right passenger's side bumper, fender and headlight. She then yelled at me and I called the cops and a witness was on hand to help vouch for me. But after an hour, the witness had to leave and the police arrived later.
Farmers Insurance found out the other car was not insured plus the driver did not own the car and was not related to the owner of the car. I gave my narrative to the police and they didn't make either of us at fault. When I gave my narrative to Farmers, they told me since I was making a left turn, I was the one at fault and since no witness was present to give their narrative of describing how the other car hit my car, I was screwed. They said the other driver honked (which she did not, she lied), was coming down at a safe distance in the turn lane (which also wasn't true - there were other entrances to places that people could have had an head on collision with her had they been turning into the left turn lane when she was driving down it), and that I hit her, which was physically impossible since my car was completely stationary.
This all of course was my word against hers, plus she had no insurance, so they decided to use my policy to pay for her fake injuries and the damage on the owner's car whose insurance had also lapsed. I also was not given my deductible because they made me over 50 percent at fault, so my car was not fixed 100 percent. It was degrading & disrespectful the way Farmers adjusters treated me, plus they made me fax them the police report because they couldn't get it themselves or were too lazy to retrieve it and their body shop estimate also took too long since it wasn't uploaded correctly. I highly recommend to never use Farmers Insurance ever!

Customer Service said I didn't have an auto policy, just a home policy. Another Customer Service agent told me I had three autos on my policy, and no home policy. I have one auto, one home. Pretty simple.
My agent's office help is deplorable. First she gave the wrong policy info to my bank. I caught the mistake, and the information was corrected. Next Farmer's cancelled my home policy and it took many calls to straighten it out. Never did receive a written policy in the mail on the first policy. On the second policy, I did receive a written policy in the mail but it had so many errors it took over an hour with the insurance agent to correct them. This is when my insurance agent told me I could not get the same coverage amount I had on the first policy, and despite having 25K LESS coverage, my premium would increase by a few dollars. She said I could increase my coverage back to what it was originally but it would cost several hundred dollars more. This makes no sense. She told me on the phone I would receive a refund of $116 back. I got a check for $47.
Several more calls to Customer Support who could not tell me why I only got $47. They said I would have to ask my agent. I paid $1085 originally. New policy amount was $970. No matter what math you use, it does not add up to a $47 difference. My agent said that because I made so many changes, all I was going to get was $47. What??? I had to make the changes because SHE and her office made all the mistakes! Not only did I pay the $25 fee for the policy on the home, and $15 on the auto, I also had to pay $70 because they don't know how to do their jobs!?
I cancelled my Farmers insurance today and will never go with them again. I will tell anyone and everyone who will listen not to use Farmers. Rip off. Lies. Cheating. Ineptness.
