Farmers' rates are great compared to Geico and progressive. The downside is if you live in NY state and have had an accident your rates will go up sky high. I know this because I recently left Farmers because of this. I’m just being honest. I like farmers. But my rates sky rocketed like I was getting a beating for having an accident. But I’m with Allstate. And to get the best rates I had with farmers I had to give up a lot. So now I have liability.

I was the victim of a wildfire that burned through 3.5 acres, destroyed 15,000 ft of aboveground irrigation, at least 30 trees, as well as some fencing and minor damage to buildings. Many people in the community were affected and claims were abundant, but Farmers had someone on our property to assess the damage within 3 days, and I had a generous check within a week, including for the irrigation which I wasn’t sure they would cover. I am extremely impressed and satisfied with their coverage and customer service.

Wait so over hour to speak to a rep. You can only go through the agent who enrolled you to change your policy , I took 1 and half hour at a dealership to just make a change for a car.. was on hold for 1 hour then another half just to change the car.

Farmers farms out most of their policies. I don't get that great of rates, but other companies will not insure my house because it is in a fire zone. Farmers bundles. A few times I wanted to make a claim, but I was told if I do my rates will go up. That is sicko.

I have been attempting to get a vehicle repaired that was damaged by one of FARMERS INSURANCE's insureds. It has been an unbelievably painful experience. The body shop handling the repairs has never seen such "underhanded, snakey, slimy" handling of a claim by an insurance claims representative. I will NEVER do business with FARMERS.

I have been with Farmers for over 15 years. They have continued to offer great service and discounts. If I have to experience a claim, I don’t have to worry. My agents have been there continually, with great customer service and total coverage. When my son was in an accident, I was crazy worried about him, the car and the other person. Farmers took care of everything. The price may go up a little, and there may be cheaper insurance out there, but Farmers has proven they are worth the price.

Expect to pay for claims yourself! I recently backed my girlfriend's car of my garage and ended up messing up the edge of the door. I contacted my insurance agency, Farmers, and they refused to pay the claim because they said her insurance would be primary. I ended up paying the full claim myself. Worst company I have ever dealt with and have since canceled my insurance with them. I will never do business with them ever again!

I recently paid my vehicle off and decided with the Kelly's Blue Book value that it was no longer worth keeping the collision insurance for my vehicle so I called to have that removed. I paid full amount for the month for my insurance to remain in effect until the end of the month and unfortunately 3 weeks later I totaled my car by hitting into a deer and went to file a claim and they told me my comprehensive insurance was removed and that there is nothing they can do. I told them there must be a mistake because I never asked for that to be removed. I only asked for collision to be removed..
After contacting the investigating team that deals with this type of situation they told me because my conversation with the agent wasn't recorded, they can't prove that my agent specified that my comprehensive insurance would be removed. I am so upset with Farmers and have no car or no money to get one now and here I was under the impression I was covered and my insurance company had my back.. DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH THEM!!

After many years with Farmers, they have always raised monthly premiums without telling me, when coronavirus hit, they disconnected their lines, or at least they appeared disconnected to me so I could not get through to cancel my insurance, my agent was closed, I had to call the bank and ask them to block them from getting anything from my checking, then the only way I was able to get through is through live chat and when I cancelled I was told my refund is $3 and change, I must have paid them thousands through the years and never had an accident or claim. My advise is not only about farmers, but all insurance companies are like that, do not stay loyal to them for too long, switch every now and then until you find an honest company (please let me know if you do) and stick with it.

On Dec. 28th 2019 we were at a red light and had been for 7 seconds according to our dashcam video. A Farmer's insured rear-ended us. So ZERO fault to us. From the beginning I said I will not accept aftermarket parts, only OEM. The adjuster, Mike received this in verbal and written communication and never said that would not happen. I take my vehicle to BMW because a lot of the electrical stuff quit working right after the accident and I wanted it repaired correctly, plus I had an extended warranty that I didn't want to risk losing. Farmer's also tried to give us a Ford Fiesta to drive as a rental even though our vehicle is a BMW X5 4wd. We had to fight and fight to get a chinsy Jeep Cherokee 2wd.
So we get a call from BMW that Farmer's is refusing to pay for an OEM bumper and they will only pay for an aftermarket one. Well, BMW's policy is to REFUSE to repair their vehicles with aftermarket parts because they do not meet the same like, kind or quality of their original parts! (I think this is an awesome policy, BTW). However, they WILL accept a CAPA certified aftermarket part because it has met the crash test ratings and other testing to prove that it is at least as good or even better than the OEM part.
Guess what???? Farmer's still denied that part. They will only pay for the aftermarket part that is nowhere near the quality of the one I had on the vehicle when their insured hit me, again at ZERO fault of mine. The bumper they will pay for costs under $200. The CAPA bumper is around $600 and the OEM is around $1,000. So you cannot tell me that their choice of bumper is anywhere near the quality of the other two. But guess what??? I can pay the difference and get my vehicle repaired.
So here I am, stuck with a bill of $600-$800 in order to get my vehicle back and repaired to its original condition when she hit me all because I did everything right that day except be legally at a stop light minding my own business. This is absolutely OUTRAGEOUS!!!! How can they get away with this? Refusing to pay for parts that meet crash test standards? I don't know about you, but I want my bumper to perform as it should in an accident. I don't want some piece of crap plastic cover that doesn't take any of the impact of the crash. FARMERS INSURANCE IS A COMPLETE JOKE!!!

I have been in a car accident mid November 2019, it took forever to get someone to inspect the vehicle at the bodyshop when they asked for supplement. After which they said my car was a total loss but it needed only cosmetic repair. First they gave me such a small amount that I couldn't buy anything similar to my car, I hired an independent appraiser and got a bit more out of them few days ago (2 month process).
They refused to give me any extra money for dealership doc fees (usually $700), stating they are not obligated to give me that and that I don't need to purchase same vehicle at the dealer but can use private sellers (so I should purchase something that was in few crashes I don't know about) or that I should negotiate with a dealer not to charge me that. Not to mention that first they didn't want to give me full 30 day car rental but since they prolonged this agony they agreed to give me 30 days. I still don't have a new car. I will never use Farmers again.

I got into a wreck almost 5 months ago, my car was completely stopped at a stop sign, I was standing a little further than the indicated white line. Car X was in the right lane with right blinker on indicating the turn I was standing at. Instead of making a right he decided to run right into my car. His insurance (Geico) called and said they wouldn't cover me or the claim within one week. My insurance Farmers just called in 5 months later to tell me it was my fault, and they will cover his claim. Agent told me she asked for body cam footage and they denied it, which I don't think the police officer can deny the footage. All a lie, insurance did not support me or my accident but they took his side and blamed me for standing on the street.
Scenario in simple words: Car at a complete stop for over a minute, other driver was not paying attention, did not brake or change lanes to avoid the accident. But Insurance still blames the completely stopped car for the accident instead of fighting for it. And that to 5 months later. Farmers insurance, piece of crap, the agent didn't give a ** or fight on my behalf. I have all my family's 5 peoples insurance with them, home and auto. But I will take this business somewhere else if they do not fix this issue for me.
I strongly agree I was standing further than the indicated white line, but I also believe that the other car should have braked or changed lanes to avoid the accident. By this incident, farmers is telling me it is okay for me to run into a car standing on the road with emergency light on since it is my right of way. Thank You farmers, I will keep that in my mind!

This was my first time using roadside assistance with Farmers. I need a tire change. When I called the representative was quick, informative and polite. The roadside assistance arrived at my vehicle within minutes. They arrived in their personal small size SUV with tools in their hatchback. Soon as they walked up, they just started taking pictures of my lug nuts and VIN number of my vehicle. not a hello or explain what they were doing.
He stated he did not have the correct size lug nut wrench to remove my tire. He asked to see my lug nut wrench, so he could take a picture of the one I have to show farmers that it didn't fit. He did not take a picture with his tools to show they were not the proper fit either. I had to ask him what he was doing, no explanation. He put no effort into changing my tire. Seems to me he was trying to make a quick buck by getting out of his car taking the pictures to send Farmers like that was the best he could do. I had to pay someone that had to change the tire and they did in less than 15 minutes.

A Farmers Insurance customer drove through the wall of my guest house and ended up in the kitchen. Farmers was quick and sent their appraiser within a few days. The quote from their appraiser was fair and they offered me half what their own appraiser said it would cost. They said they weren't going to upgrade my guest house. I said there is no upgrade, but it needs a new wall. They said, and I quote, "You'll have a new wall, that's an upgrade." What the hell? My insurance company finally had to pay the other half and sue Farmers for the rest, which they then paid. Why couldn't they just do what's right and fix the wall in the first place? They act like a credit reporting for auto and homeowners insurance. Punishing hard working INSURED customers because they are too lazy to make those that are uninsured pay their dues. Take it out of our taxes just like medical insurance so everybody has authority or a “vote” to make the system more fair. It’s very difficult and time consuming to get the information from this LexisNexis. Then you have to separately file a dispute over the phone that you can’t even view. Farmers Auto Insurance has been really good so far. They always respond quickly, care about my issues, and work very reliably. Overall I feel very comfortable to have their insurance policy.
2. They care about the car accident reasonably. They cared about my inconvenience. Everything was very smooth. Towing, Renting, Body shop, Appraising, Claim compensation. Farmers cared so well, so it protected me from dramas (the other driver's insurance company bankrupted).
3. The agency (not Farmers itself) did a great job for consultation. They look carefully about the policy and suggest addition for my situation and let me know what I can save.
4. Some people say that Farmers is expensive, but I don't feel it's expensive since they do everything so reliable. I don't think other auto insurance company can provide same level of services with the same premium.
I highly recommend Farmers auto insurance from my experience. You'll get peace.

If you total your car with Farmers YOU CANNOT EXPECT BOOK VALUE!!! They look for the same car for sale within a 100-mile radius of your location. In my case, I totaled a 2014 Honda Accord EX-L Hybrid. I had to drive two hours to buy this car originally. If they don't find that car, they just start making stuff up. Adjuster Raymond ** offered my $12,200 for my car - the cost of a 2012 Honda Accord (no hybrid) which was for sale in my area. The Kelley Blue Book value was between 14-17K. I sent him comps for this car with comps all on or around $15K. They refused to acknowledge that I could not buy the same car. If I wanted to, I would have to go further, and they should have looked further for the closest comps.
This is the most frustrating experience as I owned and meticulously maintained a Honda certified pre-owned vehicle which I had detailed twice a year and planned to pass onto my son. I have never totaled a car before. My agent, Tom **, who was supposed to advocate in my favor, was ineffective at getting me a fair price. Farmers Insurance sucks! I explained to them that I would cancel my homeowners and car insurance with them, but they felt it was worth this short-term gain that they would make now. They do not care about what's fair or about their clients. I was with All-State by the end of the day, but had to accept their ** offer, in the end. I received no calls back from their customer service even thought I tried to escalate. THEY DON'T CARE! MOTORCYCLE OWNERS, STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! I have had insurance with Farmers for my truck and they provide exceptional service so I added on MOTORCYCLE INSURANCE. I have paid my dues for this “Full Coverage Insurance” monthly thinking I have “peace of mind” if I need any type of service they offer. WRONG. SUPER WRONG. DEAD WRONG.
Last night (9/5/2019), my motorcycle failed on me on a freeway. I called for roadside assistance at 10PM, they did not arrive until 12AM! Mind you from 10 to 12, I was frustrated and trying to figure out what the ** is going on because they couldn’t secure a TOW for me. Dispatchers kept saying “Sorry sir, we are trying to find someone who is equipped to handle the situation”. WHAT THE **? That should already be available or at least they should already have tows lined up ready to call. They instead was shuffling through different cities trying to find me assistance. My hazards have been on for more than an hour so the battery had died. So I was stuck on a 65-75 mph freeway with vehicles not being able to see me while I wait hours for assistance from FARMERS. In 3 hours, I had gotten more help from people stopping by asking if I need help? Rather than getting it from the damn company that I am paying.
Finally they “found” me some help and dispatched a tow for me and the TOW didn’t arrive until 12AM. I didn’t get safely home until almost 1AM. THE MOTORCYCLE INSURANCE IS A DAMN FRAUD. I will need roadside assistance peace of mind more than any other service you offer and FARMERS has failed at that. Your chances of receiving assistance are better with another company. This pisses me off to think I been paying monthly for this type of ** service. IT DOESN’T END THERE. The following morning I email my agent to talk about the situation so she has a SUPERVISOR call me (9/6/19). The supervisor does nothing but tell me that “Specialty vehicles do take upwards of at least 3 hours for assistance”. I call that BS.
I’m sorry but I don’t think “motorcycle” fits the specialty vehicle category. FARMERS INSURANCE are advertising that they can provide the roadside assistance service for motorcycles then will fall-back on “Sorry that is a specialty vehicle so you may wait 3HOURS for help to arrive”. Bottom line is they are charging for service which they CANNOT provide in a timely manner. I tell her I could’ve had help much sooner if I’d start making calls immediately. Her response: “Yes, if you’re paying in cash”. Again, WTF? What kind of stupid response is that? Am I not paying FARMERS monthly for the service?! Are you not receiving cash from me? So I suppose I am paying monthly in flowers then?
All that told me was; indeed you can get help quicker if you called at 10PM instead of relying on the service you’re paying for monthly. Now I will no longer renew my truck insurance with them. I was loyal to them until this. I am warning MOTORCYCLE OWNERS to stay away from this company if you need insurance because when you actually need some roadside assistance, they operate with their heads cut off. They cannot provide it. You will be stuck helplessly while FARMERS is fishing around looking for help.

I started buying insurance with State Farm in 1965 with my first car. Somewhere in the mid seventies the fit just didn’t seem right; arguing with adjusters that desperately tried to pay a fraction of a legitimate claim with no help from my agent led me to shop around. On the recommendation of several friends I turned to Farmers where I found an agent that seemed to care about what kind of coverage I had and when I eventually did have to make a claim was helpful in guiding me through that process.
Over the past 40 years, (and several more claims), I have found Farmers to be an insurance company that has met my needs. My only problem has come from agents that either left the business, became so comfortable that their hobbies and past times surpassed their focus on customer care. The best agent I ever had passed away followed by another agent that was never available and I now have a professional and responsive agent that is available for all my questions and even initiates an annual review of my policies. So, finally, Farmers has been a very good company that has met my needs for over forty years. You just need to carefully choose your agent and not be afraid to shop until you find one that is a professional.

So A WEEK later after the accident finally took my car to the body shop. The body shop guy is actually nice and he told me the appraiser told him holding off ordering the part and they expect "LKQ and a/m CAPA" which means not original parts. This is just a glance of HOW CHEAP they are.
When they finally got me a rental, they really made the Enterprise people laugh. The guy at Enterprise literally told me, they had contract with Farmers & the cheapest car they have is $23. And they quote me for $21, and it is only for two days. HOW RIDICULOUS! I certainly don't care much about the $2/day. But I won't allow myself to take it without a fight.. The police report clearly states that the young lady driving the car was at fault and NOT me. I have submitted the police report to Farmers Insurance Group along with a picture of the car. But, because the party at fault will not return calls from Farmers Insurance that the claim will be denied. So I really don’t know how hard Farmers tried to reach the party, however the policy on the car is valid yet Farmers wants to walk away without payment on the accident. Their auto adjuster Brad visited our house at 7.45 am to accommodate my 9.00 am office meeting! We are very grateful for it and continue to be happily with Farmers. My wife and I have been with Farmers for 45 years and to be honest we haven't had that much to complain about. We were assigned a new agent and set up an appointment to meet him. It was obvious he hadn't reviewed our file and after a few minutes it became clear why he hadn't. When we sat down he said "So you've probably been with Farmers maybe 4 or 5 years"? When I told him 45 years he didn't say, "Thank you for your loyalty," or "We appreciate your business." Instead he launched into a spiel which included "I own this business and I have to be careful who my clients are." Again, did I mention I've been with them for 45 years and he needs to be careful who his clients are? He then made it clear he didn't care if we stayed with Farmers or not. So I'm now with USAA and they treat me with respect and thanked me for my 26 years in the military.

Here is my story: 1. I was rear-ended on rush traffic hour when traffic was moving around 20 MPH on a 880NB freeway. 2. The person who rear-ended me, confess him falling a sleep caused an accident. He gave same statement to Police who reported the incident. 3. I had made a live recording of the scene after the accident hit.
Next step: 1. As it look like a simple rear ended accident, i received an email from Farmers stating, I am 100% responsible for accident due to INCORRECT LANE Change. Upon further questions having dozen text messages, Supervisor explained their insured stated that i came into his lane and slammed brake which cause their insured to rear-end my car. 2. I explained that this is a total lie because there was no lane change involved. Submitted photos of the impact. Recorded statement in my video they didn't budge. 3. Waited for 10 days to get police report and it said exactly what i had mentioned in my claim that he fell asleep which caused an accident. The other driver also got a speeding ticket for reckless driving in the traffic condition.
4. Got an Voicemail from Farmers Insurance agent stating, they have filed an amendment to the police report because they don't agree to the statement they have received from their insured. The guy has no photos, nor any evidence on the scene because they guy was terribly sacred after the rear-end hit. They deferred by liability claim until they hear back from Police department which will take up to 5 months. Conclusion: Farmers insurance agents are completely unethical folks. Given the proof including police report which has the confession recorded from their insured they are still denying the liability claim.

I have been with Farmers for 19 years. 2 accidents and my insurance just keeps going up without saying anything. We had a claim a while back. Situation it was snowing really bad and we got hit by another car and then t boned by another car and her insurance said she wasn't at fault because their client said she wasn't. So we ended up having to argue with our own insurance (Farmers) which did not want to give us money for our damages. They ended up paying out but it was a pain to get them to.
So then a couple weeks ago we had another claim It was clearly both drivers' fault but since my daughter was a minor and the other was an adult the police report said my daughter was not paying attention which is age discrimination. So since the cop had their own opinion the Farmers believed the other driver for the 2nd time and they told us it's because they will believe whatever a police report says which is stupid cause the cop can't actually say who is at fault. They weren't even there and no witnesses.
Needless to say going to another insurance fund for same coverage as getting now only 56 dollars a month with 2 cars. Farmers charges me 100 a month which is a rip off again. 19 years with them and they could care less if they lose a good customer. Any other insurance would fight so they don't have to give someone else money. No not Farmers. They admit fault no matter what especially if a cop has an opinion. They didn't even come to my house to do estimate. No phone call. No mail. I finally looked online at my claim and it says closed. Also this other driver called my daughter not a day ago just to gloat that my insurance is paying her some people will do anything when they are desperate for money and I know she is cause we know the lady the collision was with and she had a go fund me a while back asking for money cause she needed help paying for bills which they don't.

I'm a woman, and I was by myself, stuck on the shoulder of the freeway for over 4 hours last night (5:30-10:00). I could have gotten a ride home and left my car, but was Farmers going to be responsible for my car, if I left it? I strongly doubt it, based upon what I went through. The original Farmers dispatcher put a weird street address in the system, rather than my location on the freeway. I continued to call back, and tell the dispatcher (a new dispatcher each time) that they had given the driver a wrong address. How hard is it to tell the driver "The customer is on the freeway???" However, each dispatcher continued to give each different tow truck driver that weird street address - over the course of 4+ hours they dispatched 3 tow companies.
At 10:00 pm, the last tow truck driver found me. Some of the drivers never took my calls. The last one, he made an extra effort and kept calling and texting with me, until he found me. He promised he would, and he did. He was a gem! I then called Farmers back, to tell them the tow was completed; I was on hold for 20 mins (did they know it was me???), and the Farmers person was polite, but could not care less. Then, and here is the icing on the cake: it was now after 11:00 pm and I was finally going home, I received yet another text from Farmers saying a truck would be at my location - eta 20 mins, and they gave that weird street address again. OMG, the Farmers dispatcher didn't even put it in their own system, that the tow was completed. What incompetence, and total lack of customer service; no one cared that I was a woman by myself, stuck out on the freeway for 4 hours. I'm done with Farmers!

This is a Review Of Farmers Insurance & Recent Currently Ongoing 2/22/19 where I was hit from behind Rear End On Highway. 100% Not My Fault. Lady has Farmers, says "don't worry Farmers will take care of everything and make it look new again". ope/did not happen. Adjuster came out 5 min in the rain, did some voodoo on laptop to tell me my Beautiful C320 Sports Mercedes In Mint Conditions is Junk. Not worth fixing. Somehow the adjuster becomes the new owner, sells it back to me wrecked, now my problem with a Salvage Title KBB $ the repair is sky high for a trunk paint job at $7500. The adjuster Laurence has this as fair and reasonable to repair the damage yet values the entire car at $3965 is what I got. This is after I paid $650 buy it back. He said sales tax to California was paid to help me out.
It's a 2003 16 years that is the problem, considered old and compared to other old cars not restored or inspected. My 16 Merz is new looking and modern upgrades to suspensions and runs great take care of it very well. Its mint with recent paint, and looks new. Farmers Uses CCC To Values Cars. CCC USES TAKE WHICH IS LOWEST PRICE DEALER WILL TAKE CASH ON **. CCC Is In Court for Defrauding others same thing. ** class actions. They stole millions from the public for insurance co's because in reality they work for the insurance companies. They pay legal fees to CCC defense to keep the circus act going for the adjuster to use against me. Show my car is junk and worthless when in reality it's not.
Farmers Adjuster won't allow or consider photos or maintenance records, or interior conditions or even check under the hood as a normal inspections of car values would be. Adjuster and Super Visor Steve ** have it same. Use CCC Instead of my Merz. It's misleading to insist on using this for values instead of my car. A fair value would be what would it sell for on auto trader. A buyer would value my car high due to paint job is like new mint conditions inside and out.
Farmers adjusters do not allow this information into the report as insurance commission rules and regulations and California state code appear violations as the adjuster Laurence left no business card, he left no inspections to read or sign, he left no bill of sale on when he purchased my car, and resold it back to me with no paperwork of any kind is a mystery. What Farmers does is value the repair sky high, and lower the values of car using CCC. This makes it total salvage instead of doing the right thing which is Fix and Repair. CEO Jeff Daily does this make more money for shareholders to mistreat customers this way.
I am finding out the service reps operate using cell phones with caller id farmers exchange as a hoax as they operate out of the trunk of car. I have not seen any business card or any paperwork of any kind so I wonder about "this farmers crew roaming the streets" stealing cars and selling them back + pay sales tax. Not sure how? Farmers Hires so they can behave and conduct anyway they wish sending me to hell with no remorse. Back and forth no change. They don't & won't evaluate the claim. Only use CCC.
I am now asking for diminished values restore me way I was before the accident. It was not $0 as farmers has it now. I need to be restored 100% prior accident not play games with CCC & Steve. The public is shocked when they see the wrecked car. Ask about and I tell them my story in dealing with Farmers. Honestly better off with an illegal no insurance than the lady with Farmers who run into me after what I been thru 2 months. They send you check 24 hours. Hope you deposit it. You end up salvage title worthless KBB values and not enough money to repair because conman adjuster values are fake and flawed using CCC and fake numbers sky high on the repair. $7500 to fix and paint the trunk/$3900 Total Value Classic Merz in Mint Conditions.
Anybody else see issue with these numbers. Steve ** Farmers thinks it fair and reasonable and just sent me same check as before which I void and sent back. Farmers after 1 month go back and forth back and forth send in receipts>>> no change >>> same check>>> wasted 1 1/2 months of my life and it's still the same wreck it was day #1. Stay away. Any driver has farmers insurance don't accept it. ITS WORTHLESS INSURANCE PROVEN TO ME. Farmers is proven worthless. Not my car. Farmers customer service towards me could not be any worse.

I have been with Farmers for several years now as well. I recently hit a deer which is a comprehensive claim in PA. After a couple of investigations by their adjuster they determined it was a total loss. Here is where the true frustration begins. They use this company called CCC One to perform their valuations. They are completely incompetent at best. Their valuation process uses “comparable vehicles” with adjustments for options (industry accepted methodology when done correctly).
I received my report and it is considerably lower than what the market says the vehicle is worth. It gives credit for a list of fairly standard options on cars that it lists which ones. This particular report itself used basically base model comparisons and their list of options installed. Porsche has very expensive vehicle options that do increase the value significantly over the base vehicles. Since they are not part of CCC Ones database, the report omitted them and did not give credit for them at all, not even listed.
I argued with the claims specialist to this point and finally if I provided a build sheet they would review it and make the appropriate adjusts. I thought to myself, “great they are listening”. I provided the information and a couple days later they let me know that CCC One claims they did account for everything and they found items they gave credit for that they shouldn’t have reducing the valuation. WOW!!!
Here is an example of what they removed. On the report, they originally gave credit for dual air conditioning. On the options list for my Porsche it says “4-zone climate control”. Now anybody that has a reasonable mind knows that climate control is basically an automated regulation of AC and Heat. And the last time I checked, maybe kindergarten or first grade 4 was greater than 2. Why would CCC One remove credit for a dual zone fixed AC system and not give credit for a 4-zone climate control system. There are way too many of these instances like this to list.
Now any reasonable person would think, “OK the system that I am using for the valuation does not allow me to value the options on this vehicle so I need to find really close market comparables in terms of equipment”. Not CCC One, their motto is “If we don’t have it in our database, just leave it out”. Farmers continues to state that they have to use the value that CCC One provides and they will not budge. PA laws say a little different and I have filed a complaint with the PA insurance commission. Hopefully this can be mediated through that forum. If not, I will go to court.
So, from what I know as of right now. As long as Farmers is in bed with CCC One and they used them for decisions, if you are considering Farmers insurance, RUN, and run very far away... If you ever need to file a claim you will be screwed unless you plan to spend about 6 months fighting it. I will post the outcome as I learn more to keep everyone informed...

I was hurt, could not work - had chiropractor bills, ambulance, $20K hospital bills and still ankle problems 7 months post this accident.
This at fault driver had Farmers Insurance which accepted responsibility within a week and assigned Justin in OKC as adjuster. 7 months later they have not paid one bill or any of my loss after 30 plus phone calls and frustration of them saying they were still gathering bills. No you have ruined my credit and created so much stress and hardship that one could not put in words. Farmers insisted to have this vehicle towed to a body shop so they could put it on a lift and inspect for all damage. I work out of state so this all had to be arranged. Subsequently the vehicle was not ever placed on the lift and between Farmers and the body shop they estimated 13k.
Turned out because the frame was bent the total bill was almost 22k. I had multiple police officers say that the accident was not my fault and that my insurance was ripping me off. Please do not get Farmers. They DO NOT have your best interests in mind.

Been with Farmers for years. Was rear ended in my 2017 Honda Pilot while sitting in traffic and after the other party's insurance company denied fault so I called Farmers. My claims adjuster Garrett ** handled my claim and assured me they'd deal with them on my behalf. I tried to keep in contact but would never get a return call. 6 months later I finally get a hold of someone who could help. It turned out Garrett had left the company and no one was there to pick up my case. Craig ** (**) took over my claim and informed me that the other company was going to take care of the damages. Relieved I got into contact with the at fault's party only to find out that they were still denying my claim. Called back Craig only for him to rudely tell me there was nothing he could do and to just pay my deductible of 1000$.
He said he would see what he could do and that he'd call me back the next day. He then went on vacation. Got in touch with Susie (**) who was much friendlier and she informed me since they dropped the ball that they would waive the 1000$ deductible and repair my car as long as damages were over 1000$. I informed her that I was sure they were not but she reassured me that since my car was new that it would. I got an email saying I had a rental car ready and that everything was set. I took the car in and informed the mechanic of the situation. He said that he doubted, as I did, that the damages were going to exceed 1000$. So I asked to do an estimate first. Something Farmers should have done considering the stipulation. He said Craig should be in touch by day's end. Late the next day I get an email from Craig saying there's nothing they can do to help and that they were closing my case.
Farmers was planning on me doing the repairs and then charge me for the rent a car and repairs which turned out only to be 360$ in damages. Completely unethical. Susie never looked at the pictures of the damages so everything she said regarding the damages being over 1000$ was just a lie to get me off her back. They seem to have zero procedure there and just wing it. I've been with them for ages and this was the first time I needed assistance and it will be the last. I am currently speaking with my lawyer about what can be done. Contacting the Better Business Bureau about the situation and of course leaving Farmers asap. What should have been an open and shut case has become a nightmare full of lies and disappointment.

Farmers insurance is a complete joke! A Farmers insured driver was texting on the phone and ran directly into the rear of my fiances brand new Nissan Rogue. They took responsibility then decided that they were going to handle the claim in a half-** way. The first problem was they wanted to do an estimate over pictures rather than have the body shop inspect the car. While hesitant I said, "Do it." They sent a price quote to my body shop of $800.00 by cutting the labor rates in half and quoting all aftermarket parts.
My vehicle has been on the road less than a year, has a value of $30,000 and didn't have a scratch before the accident. After that, they told me that this was how it works (little do they know I have worked for insurance companies and currently assist in running a Cadillac dealership) and that they go off of the rules they have. Rules state that a vehicle that has a manufacture date of less than 2 year gets OEM parts replaced, not aftermarket. Next, they asked me to use a different body shop (which they are not allowed to ask me to do since I get to choose the body shop I want since they hit me) that would work with their estimates when my shop said they would not. After threatening a lawsuit, they told me to just go through my insurance company (USAA) and they will reimburse them.
Now it's been almost 2 weeks, repairs were approved by USAA for all OEM replacement parts and proper times (estimate to fix was 2x more than the estimate from Farmers) and they are denying me a rental car and told me that I have to pay out of pocket and eventually I will be reimbursed. My insurance company has been trying to call the agent at Farmers and he would not return their call and now I told him my lawyer will be getting involved since they did not want to handle this situation properly or the right way.
If USAA was handling this from the beginning, my car would already be fixed, it would have been done and handled the right way, and it would all be done and over with. Unfortunately, I am now going on the third week with a brand new damaged car and a future lawsuit on my hands. This insurance company is a complete joke!

I want to complain about so-called 'certified body shops'. I used one after accident and experience is catastrophic. I still think they owe me money for that battery I had to replace myself. I had car accident. Day before that I had car serviced and car service papers did not show any signs of bad batteries. After crash, car did not start. I brought car to 'certified body show' which was "Mikes Autobody", Walnut Creek, Ca, North Broadway. I asked multiple times if they could check electric before fixing car. I they would be unsure about repair results, I wanted to take money and bring to another body shop.
First, I had to sign paper that they do preliminary checks. They estimated ~$300$ and after that they said they can fix car. It took > week to fix it. Then they called and said they fixed body, but car does not start and I had to take it in that condition. I refused reminding them about their initial words. They said they would 'Evaluate electrical issues on dealership', estimated 'evaluation' in ~700$ and saying that if issue with car is not result of accident, I have to pay for repair plus 'evaluation'. They stated, they only fix body, and not mechanical or electrical part (it is pity they did not say that before when I brought car - SCAM! ). I was unsure what to do: after examining similar cases (people say Farmers does not replace batteries, but there was no signs it is battery - it was totally OK before crash, I decided to take car to my mechanic).
It was battery, and based on other's Farmers experience I would pay 800 + replacement for battery by dealership. That is TOTAL SCAM. Keeping in mind I could take money and bring car to another body shop where people do complex work. I also wanted to tell that along the way I was getting unpleasant calls from Farmers' estimator and agent, with all kind of suspicions and assumptions, that electric did not work initially and I faked that problem. Farmers estimator was especially suspicious and rude. STAY AWAY FROM FARMERS. THIS IS TOTAL SCAM. I spent week in arguing, figuring out details of how I could potentially lie to them and listening stupid explanation that 'for 5 y.o. car it is fine to not to start'. Farmers - one solid catastrophy.

BUT, instead they sent an electronic bill to me for payment due on 7/6 which went into SPAM MAIL. So, now I've received a Cancellation notice with a new due date of payment required by 8/6--5 months after my original 6 month payment.
I chatted with two people who could not provide any sort of explanation that was rational. How does one pan for early payments without being told that the company can bill you at their convenience at any time even though a 6 month interval is expected. I have an auto policy with the company and as such the due date for the second part of annual billing is 9/6--6 months after my initial payment. My son was in an accident with a very nice gentleman who is insured by Farmers. The State Patrol report showed the man at fault and he was cited for failure to yield. I'm not saying he was doing anything bad, he just had a driveway at the top of a hill and was pulling out and blocking the whole road with his truck and trailer when my son topped the hill. The report showed my son had zero contributing factors. It was raining, he was not speeding and had less than 100 feet to stop from the top of the hill to where the man was blocking the road.
Kevin, at Farmers, is in Michigan and he looked at Google Maps in GA and said that it looked like my son had plenty of room to stop. He told my son he should have taken evasive action to the side. The truck and trailer was completely blocking the road, there were 2 foot ditches on each side of the road and he thought my son should put his car in the ditch. He said that he didn't have to go with what the GA State Patrol said, that he could make his own decision. He said my son was 30 percent at fault. When I told him I didn't accept that answer, he threatened me that he would deny the whole claim if I didn't agree right away. He told me that since it was raining and my son drove that road every day, he should have known that something was going to happen.
According to the Insurance Commissioners office, I can sue the other driver for the difference. So if you have Farmers, if you have an accident, they can decide not to pay the claim and the other person could be forced to sue you for the difference on their claim. I will not be doing that, it is not that gentleman's fault that his insurance company does not do the right thing. This is, of course, my opinion but I feel like we were treated unfairly.

Farmers is Awesome! Purchasing our policy was a breeze, we have an incredible agent who's truly on our side and does whatever he can to assure that things go smoothly for his customers from the initial quote to the final piece of information needed from an accident. Also, customer service is key and Farmers has amazing customer service. I don't care what any insurance company has to offer or what their rates are like, no feature compares to the quality of one's customer service. Like their accident forgiveness too. Luckily, I've never had to use it but in the event I'm in an accident, I like the idea that my rates will not be affected.
But I feel that smaller services like rental vehicles, glass repair, and roadside assistant should be offered to policyholders at no additional cost with each policy. Each of these are services that would not be used regularly and when you are paying higher premiums to get better deductibles, those smaller services are a huge incentive because it's one less thing we have to worry about in the event of an emergency.

Friendly staff, you can walk into the office anytime at your convenience if you have any questions or would like to make any changes to your policy, or you can call and they will answer and make any changes that you ask them to make. Also, they mail a new calendar every year, which is nice and a birthday card every year too.
But sometimes I wish they were a little more clear of what each plan covers, what it doesn't cover, so that when there's an accident or something, the process of getting the coverage would be a lot quicker and easier. I had roadside assistance with my claim, had a flat tire, there were severe limitations with calling and getting help. It took over 1.5 hours to completion, and you could tell the 800 number was outsourced. The person I spoke with on the phone didn't know my city, I told her an intersection, which is an extremely well known... like. I didn't think I would have to have an exact address. She couldn't navigate her computer system to plug in 120th street & Dodge so I had to physically get out of the car in the street, in flats, in winter, walk at 5:30 am in the morning, to get to an address for her to plug in. Not the biggest deal, but it kinda sucked, it was dark, snowing, and frankly was a bit ridiculous to have to do with the technology we have… she was at a computer.
Why she didn’t just pull up Google, and then Omaha 120 & Dodge and ask me if I saw the McDonald's or some other business nearby on the map and then plug that address in? It was strange that it was up to me to trek and seek an address in the dark, alone, and leave my disabled vehicle. Then, the person who came to help, took about an hour to get there. He lived in Plattsmouth, which is fine, but that's a 45 min drive to Omaha. In the snow… What. Why are you coming from Plattsmouth? Is every other contracted person in Omaha not available at 6 am on a Wed? I guess… I called for a tow because I really blew out my tire, and would've preferred to just get it done at a shop and tow it directly there.
I slid into a curb pretty good on the slick roads and bumped and cracked my hubcap eve like. I can change a tire, or I could’ve called someone to help me change a tire. I wanted a tow, because it was snowing, hard, and forecast called for it all day I wanted to get it repaired and a real treaded tire on and fixed. Instead, he said he couldn’t tow me, unless that was the only option. He said he was required to try, to put my donut on, which, it was snowy and cold and dark, and I don’t know how he managed to not lose a finger in the cold. I specifically called for the tow. Not the safest thing to roll around town with a donut on, and a donut is not the greatest thing to have on your car, in winter, when it’s snowing.
I asked for a tow, because where I was, to where the tire shop and where I live is legit more than 100 blocks away and would take 30-40 min to get to in this weather. No, I had to take the donut service and that’s it, the technicians are limited by contract on what they can and can’t provide. I understand that, it wasn’t his fault, but nonetheless it was a ridiculous, frustrating thing to be told after the fact. I waited 2 hours, after calling for a tow, for a guy in a tow truck to put on a donut for me. I used the roadside assistance once more when I had another flat, just honestly because I couldn’t get the lug nuts off. I kept asking if the tech that was coming had an impact wrench/loosener with him, because it’s really stuck, and they kept pausing and saying “they are fully equipped to help with any situation that will occur.”
Like, please. Stop with the canned, typed up by HR answers. Can you actually be a human, send this other human the message that these lug nuts are extremely tight, and this will be a process? I want him to be prepared for this… She said they don’t contact them, it’s just a computer program where you choose from a drop down menu. Then she informed me it would be a 2 to 2 and a half hour or more wait. Uhhhh, no thanks. I got it. I haven’t used it since. I don’t really trust it to actually help. I had tried to add some things like a rental car on my policy, and was met with a lot of "Ohhhh, you want to change your policy, make an appointment to come in and chat with us."
No, I just wanted to add a service, I’m happy with my policy but they were gross and pushy about me physically wasting 3 hours of my day on a sales pitch that I politely declined, Then, I was met with an answer you can’t add services “a la carte” and that the only way to change your policy was through an in person meeting. I declined, thanked them, hung up, and went to farmers.com chat and they did it within 20 minutes. I’ve had 2 claims, one hail and one an accident. The accident was fairly simple. The other drivers’ fault, no injuries though. It was fine. But it still took ages upon ages for them to let me know that my car was totaled out. I figured it would be as it was 5 years old, and the transmission was hit, but.
I had to wait around for about 2 weeks, then the check they sent (by USPS, not direct deposit. Uh.) Then that check my bank had problems processing. Could’ve been the bank, not saying it was farmers, but it was about a month before the entire thing was resolved. With the hail claim, my “agent” didn’t even contact me. It was some other Farmer’s person from 2 states over, who assessed the damage, and then told me to choose a repair shop. I never got any contact from my local guy following up. There’s just a shady, non-transparency feel you get when dealing with any insurance company. They’re a large conglomerate company like anyone else trying to make a profit. I’ve never felt like an insurance co. actually cares or wants to pay anything out to you.
You have it if something catastrophic happens, the what ifs of life, and so you pay them monthly for that peace of mind. My agent routinely gets my name wrong. He sends me about a quarterly phone call asking me “how’s life?” and if I want to up my life/home insurance with a very wrong first name more funny than anything. They’re pleasant enough to deal with, do their job, toe the line, and very kind people. Customer service was very good. Average value for the cost of what I pay. My policy is pretty limited and I've had one accident, over 5 years ago. But they’re not genuine by any means. Responses and communication received was a little jumbled. Unclear process a lot of the time. Given the seriousness of an accident, the blaze and light, no rushed responses were a little unsettling to experience.

We have twins that needed car insurance and most recently rental insurance. All we had to do was call our local agent Tracy **. We also have a home in LaPine, OR. It is the same situation. Call the office and explain insurance needed. We have been dealing with Karen ** of the LaPine Office since 2015 for home insurance, vehicle insurance, renters insurance and vehicle insurance for our 19 year old daughter. I was hit by a customer of Farmers Insurance. My van was considered totaled in a matter of days. The accident was so bad. The insurance company told us they were taking total responsibility for it. They did not. I had a three-month-old child in the car with me. The accident was bad enough that the door on the side of the van where the child was would not close. The police officer, fire marshal, and the child's doctor all said that the car seat and base have to be replaced after an impact that hard. She also would not stop crying so the officer told us it would be better to have her checked out just to be safe. We submitted the price of the car seat and the doctor's visit to the insurance company. We were told that they do not cover replacement of the car seat, that was an expense we would have to cover and being as she was found to be okay at the doctor's visit, they did not cover that either, we had to. This company is not family friendly.

Even though the adjustor has not come out yet they are already talking about not paying the full amount for the damage. Their behavior up to this point is looking very suspicious. Why would I file a claim through MY homeowners insurance when their guy is clearly liable? Why are they already trying to downgrade their responsibility? I have been with Farmers for several years now. They have taken it upon themselves to add a nonlicensed person to my policy without my consent. I have called twice to have him removed, he's still on there. I called a third time just today and was informed that I have to have a copy of his ID and have to sign an exclusion of coverage form just to have him removed... Remember, he is NOT a licensed driver and does not live in my household or have access to my vehicle. So now I have to go out of my way to find a copier and waste a stamp just to have a person removed that never should have been there to begin with. Of course, before this I've been dealing with significant increases in my rates even with no claims at my own fault and only one claim at a truck driver's fault. Definitely looking for new insurance as of now.

As my car had been damaged significantly, and adjuster came to my home, rushing to estimate my car from damages sustained and was not my fault. He entered my car to see all damages as a door needed to be opened to look at all damages. To me, that's illegal to come w/ of notice, and prepare an estimate which was said to be way less than the amount really needed to do repairs correctly, according to a body and Fender shop that's one of their preferred shops. The shop's foreman shook his head saying, "Farmers are like that, always taking the cheapest solution."
This accident happened almost a year ago and I still didn't get it repaired. I have been very busy and esp with my MOM being not very mobile, needs us around. The part that I was annoyed on was that he came unannounced, and done the estimate without me being present and no one gave permission to have him enter my car. Does this look like procedures that's correct of doing any estimate of anyone's car insured under their auto insurance? I highly doubt that.
This review subject to edit depending on repairing my car when I do get it repaired. I needed to cash the check as it expired once. I don't like to deposit money into my bank account that's to be used for the necessary repairs as I would think it's all of mind, as I was given a check for about $2500. If to repair a little dent costs $500, then I only can imagine how much damages would actually cost, being at least twice the amount with bottom of door jam that seems solid metal being damaged significantly plus the door and rear fender, slashed across the bottom being of deep dents. If only I could attach a photo, all would see. But until the conclusion of this, I should not really identify myself.

I had an accident with one of Farmers' impaired clients and instead of apologising for my inconvenience and just taking care of the damages caused by their impaired client, Farmers elected to insult me by devaluing my vehicle and attempted to force me to sell them my vehicle at a ridiculously low price to absolve them of their responsibility to take care of the damages caused by their impaired client. They set the market value of my vehicle (which by the way is not on the market) and an absolute conflict of interest and used the value that they set to justify trying to force me to sell them my vehicle. The Texas statute states that the repair to actual cash value ratio must be 100% of the vehicle's ACV. THEY ARE NOT EVEN CLOSE TO THIS RATIO and the vehicle is 100% repairable and 100% paid for.
I'm wanting to sue the client to recover the damages he caused when he caused the accident due to his negligence and impairment since it is apparent to me that he doesn't have sufficient insurance to provide financial responsibility. He broke it! He needs to fix it! My vehicle is not for sale! Especially not for sale to absolve them of their debt to me. How the ** are they gonna force me to sell them my vehicle at a ridiculously low price to them and at a great loss to me to recover the damages caused to me by their client. WTF? Wrong... an extra $120 a year and it will only cover repairs caused during repair not the repair itself... which I very clearly asked if it covered the lines themselves.

I was recently involved in a minor accident with a driver insured by Farmers Insurance over the busy Thanksgiving holiday weekend. Filed a claim through Farmers the following Monday, after speaking to their insured they claimed liability and I was told to take it to their body shop for an estimate which I did but I was scheduled for repair week later because they are too busy.
Meanwhile, their rent a car company Enterprise was asking me when will I pick up the Toyota Corolla that Farmer's reserved for me? I was driving a brand new Grand Cherokee and I politely requested a similar vehicle due to safety concerns and that I was driving my truck with the whole family in it. Enterprise said that Farmers Insurance only allotted $22/day for the rent a car so that pretty much limits me to miniature cars and rules out any comparable SUVs. I knew then, something is wrong but they probably thought I was stupid.
After exhausting all efforts, I realized that is not even worth my time dealing with this loss. I declined the rental car and told them to forget about it. I then requested just pay for the damages, issue the check directly to me so I can get it fixed at another shop who can do it within the time frame I needed and hopefully be done with it. The law states that I can have my car fixed anywhere I like. But they went on and on about lifetime warranty and it's gonna take the same amount of time etc.
This is when it got interesting. I then received a call from Farmers Insurance that the shop who did the estimate already purchased the parts for my car (less than 24 hrs from the estimate) and that she is trying to persuade me on getting it fixed there. How was it possible to have the parts ordered when they didn't even have the approval on the estimate they provided. In addition, they weren't expecting the car for at least another week? When I spoke to my adjuster, she said she didn't have the estimate yet. Therefore, any approval for any repair is not possible.
I knew my rights and I demanded that they at least pay me the repair cost. I'm already irritated at this point. Basically, I'm being told take the mini car rental and let their body shop repair my truck for however long it takes or else it may take longer for them to issue the check to me. I'm already saving them money on one week rental car because I just happen to have 3 other cars parked in my driveway available for me to use. I guess they were trying to stiff me with some sort of imaginary restocking fee so their check will be smaller.
Now with all these being said, they finally agreed to process the repair check directly to me but now they need to contact their body shop for the estimate. I told them I already have the estimate that the body shop provided and I can send it to them. Then I was told that they still need additional information from the body shop??? What information do they still need? I guess this is where the running around begins.
When I get tired of this, I will file this with my good insurance company State Farm and just pay for the deductible call it a lesson in life and to know that an insurance company can easily screw you and will get away with it. I may file a complaint with the Department of Insurance in the state of Florida and give them the reviews they deserve in all forums I can find.
This is a very small claim, this company is trying too hard to make the claim process inconvenient to the claimant. Thank God I'm not insured by this company but I hope drivers insured by this company Farmers Insurance should put a sticker on their cars so we can keep a good distance. At the end of it, I'm not at fault with this accident but I used 2 days of my vacation dealing with the mess. I'll probably be driving a damage brand new car for weeks and I feel like my only recourse is to spend more money and hire an attorney and sue.
Do the math, what I spent on this is more than my claim already. The only thing I can be thankful for these days with bad and careless drivers is that I can afford a safe SUV and all of us in it are safe. It cost me money and time and they are still trying to stiff me with my small claim??? I wonder if it is a big claim? Someone from this company is probably sitting behind a desk and laughing their asses off at my expense. Stay safe out there!

After giving their rep my statement 2 days pass and I call and they had not gotten in touch with their client. I was told they allow their client 2 weeks to respond. I had to call my insurance company to get a rental for the first week and pay 20% out of pocket. After arguing with the agent she finally called the next day to tell me she had talked to their client and she had accepted responsibility for the accident. The 4th day after the accident a rep called and wanted to know where my car was towed to, the agent had refused to take that info beforehand. The next day she called to tell me I needed to release the vehicle to her so they could move it to their lot and avoid storage fees and I immediately called and authorized the release.
A claims specialist called me the following week and told me they had valued my car but when I looked over the paperwork I notice the valuation was on a GS model, not the GT Limited that I owned. They also had not included the out of pocket for the rental I incurred. Also I ask for 2 days hotel since I spent 2 days dealing with the aftermath of the accident and not my vacation and ask them to consider partial reimbursement for a $3000 paint job I had put on my car less than a year before the accident and I faxed all the receipts to them. After 2 more days I called and the specialist I was dealing with had a message that said he was out of office for 2 weeks.
I was transferred to someone who never heard of me and didn't know anything about my claim. After giving her my claim number and explaining the valuation of the GS compared to the GT and the paperwork I had faxed, she couldn't find it and I had to go and refax it. I called and left 2 messages for someone to call and explain why I had released the vehicle on the 4th and it was still at the storage yard on the 15th. I finally got a call, but they didn't answer the storage question, and only offered me $80 more than their last offer. They had not taken the hotel bill of $298 into consideration, nor the $3000 paint job, nor revalued the car from a GS to the GT.
The accident was on July 31st, this is Aug 15th. I still don't have a car and have to look for a way to work and back home. They allowed me a week of rental after my insurance paid my first week but told me if I wanted it longer I would have to pay out of pocket, it wasn't their responsibility. They only allow 1 week after declaring a car totaled, even though they have made no effort to help me get a fair settlement so I can get another car. Now I am in a position to have to take what they want to give me since I was not injured and a lawyer would not make much off my case and I would have to pay the lawyer out of my pocket. Insurance isn't fair even if you are not at fault. My insurance tells me I can file a claim through them but I will have to pay the deductibles and since I file a claim my rates would go up. So unfair to someone who was not at fault.

I am well aware that the state of Arizona requires all drivers to have auto insurance. That is why I applied for insurance, at Joe ** Farmers insurance. I was GIVEN A CHOICE. As to how I wanted to receive my statements. Internet, text, or paper mailed. I chose paper mailed.
That was not what he wanted. I chose to have my statements sent monthly. He didn't like that either. So, statements come randomly. Very recently I went online at the AZdot website to seek help/information about what I have the power to do about this. I found this agent online posting slanderous statements about me. The statements are gone, but I can't unsee that. Now recently I have been communicating with Rick ** at the Farmer's relations rep. The slander issue has already been swept under his rug too. To the best of my knowledge there is no law that says I have to accept poor, sloppy service.

I have had a terrible experience with Farmers insurance. I was struck by one of your customers, resulting in a total loss of my vehicle. So far in my claim, the representatives and policies have been awful. My assigned representative, Kyle **, has been difficult to contact and unhelpful with questions. Following initial contact, I have constantly been told "there is an issue with coverage" on the part of the other party. I couldn't get a specific answer.
It took two weeks after the accident for any kind of progress to begin. I had to rent a vehicle out-of-pocket. When the claim finally moved forward, I was referred to an Enterprise branch that would bill Farmers directly. This particular branch wouldn't give me a rental unless I purchased insurance through them, which is not covered with Farmers. At that point, I'd returned my previous rental and was at the Enterprise office with no other ride. If I'm going to be referred a rental agency branch, it shouldn't be one that requires an out-of-pocket expense. This may not be significant for a large company, but I am a college student with no income. This is terrible customer service from management down to the representatives. I am requesting that I receive some kind of compensation, at least reimbursement for out-of-pocket insurance that was required.

While visiting my daughter the Beaverton, Oregon area, she borrow my car and hit a low stump while backing up in our complex, and when she went to put in a claim to her insurance GEICO, we discovered that the claim had to go thru my insurance company, Farmers. My frustration came when trying to get guidance on who would be the best repair shop to take my car into. No one would make any kind of commitment on whom to take it to. Another matter on the replacement of the car door is that when I purchased my car a year and a half before the accident, I had a special coating on the car to keep the paint looking like new and was not able to find any shop or dealership in the Portland area that could help me. I finally made a decision with help on comparison reviews and paid my deductible.
I feel they should have a good knowledge on the Auto Body repair shops they have approved and could have given some guidance. The auto body place did all the dealings with Farmers which I am thankful for.

Buying insurance can be a daunting search for the cheapest cost while trying to get the most coverage. We've been with quite a few insurance companies, we were always able to find better coverage elsewhere. When we started with Farmers they always reviewed our policies when it came time for renewals. At those times we would check with other insurance companies to compare rates, no other insurance company could match what we were paying for our coverages. We still check on our coverages and still not one company can cover us for what we are paying at Farmers. We are fortunate to have the agent we are with now. We only have to call for information on our policies, our Farmers agent always makes everything simple and easy.
I filed a claim when my windshield was damaged. Farmers Ins Claims had responded by informing me that I was only covered for $330.00 for replacement on my 2 year old vehicle and I agreed. My windshield from the Dealer was over $900.00 installed. It was a special windshield because of all the options on my vehicle. My agent got Farmers to pay me $819.00 for the windshield from the dealer because I had full coverage on my vehicle, nice, we really appreciated what our agent had done. They even reviewed our policy, gave us better coverage for $160.00 cheaper a year on our policy. We've been with Farmers for over 30 years and every time we check the cost and coverage with other insurance companies, they could never give us the same coverage for what we are paying at Farmers. We feel very fortunate.

I knew this couldn't be right because I was under the impression that we were to save 10 percent off our premiums. Luckily, after a few more moments of holding time, that was straightened out.
Farmers is more reasonable than other auto insurance companies, particularly for imperfect drivers. I've managed to save some money off of our premiums by setting up payment on auto pay. Luckily my vehicle was driveable. I waited until March 30th, 2017 to call Farmers to see what was going on with the claim and if it was even started. I explained what happened to the agent and my need for a speedy process due to my trip but my agent wasn't at all helpful. She only told me that she reached out to the insured and cannot go further until he returns her call. I called again for the next day for update and my agent was out of town.
I left for Florida and called again after I returned from my cruise on April 5th, 2017 and again my agent was out of town and unsure when she would return. I downloaded the app to help with the claim process and was estimated damage of $3,723.74, when I took my vehicle to a garage for an estimate it was over $6000. Once Farmers gave me the estimate they sent a check in the mail. I called and told my agent that I had it inspected myself and it was over $6000 and the check they were sending me for $3,723.74 wasn't even half of what damage was estimated.
Once I told her I was going to their preferred collision repair she changed her tone and called the garage and got me set up for repairs. Again, I had to wait to get repairs, my agent was always out of the office and didn't listen to anything that I had to say, she didn't explain anything and even when I had questions she wouldn't answer them and was very unpleasant and then to get rid of me sent me a check that was WAY under what the actual cost of repairs were. The actual cost of repairs was over $8,000. I have received no follow up calls. Last fall I was in a car accident with a Farmers Insurance driver. She was elderly, she sped up and blew through a stop sign and essentially t-boned me. She was solely responsible for the accident -- and the police took her car at the scene. Incidentally she had struck another car 8 blocks before, the police had written up a report --- and let her go!
My car was totaled -- no problem with recovery on that. My rotator cuff was torn in the accident and required surgery. The total medical bills including surgery and physical therapy were $19,000. I gained complete mobility in my shoulder and only have pain now -- which is fine, I am 68. I work only part-time so I did not claim any lost wages, I just went to work on pain meds with my arm in a sling.
All the bills were submitted to Farmer's Claim Bureau here in Indianapolis, Indiana. When the claims adjuster contacted me she explained that Farmers does not treat my medical bill as a "real" bill if insurance covers it. Instead, they deducted $15,000 from my medicals -- which were actually $4,000 --- because my insurance company had contracted with my health care provider for set amounts (Medicare). The result was that they used the $4,000 number as medical damages instead of the $19,000. The first settlement offer was for $7,500 WITH additional funds subordinated to my supplemental carrier -- even though they had made no demand. So in other words, the at fault driver, and her insurance company Farmers -- ultimately paid LESS than I did!
Call it "bad faith", call it negligence, call it unlawful, call it unconscionable... call it what you like but Farmers Insurance does the best it can to devalue the injury and the injured party. I questioned the "fairness", even the "logic" of their approach and was told "that is how they do it". When I suggested to the Farmers claims adjuster that my own insurance company and other adjusters I knew personally had said that was not a "common" method of calculation, she insisted that "she had been doing this for 20 years and that is the way it had always been done". I made repeated requests to speak to her supervisor or "someone further up the food chain", and those requests were ignored.
In the grand scheme of life the bill was not huge in the first place and is certainly too small to make hiring an attorney cost effective. But what sticks with me now is the overall attitude of Farmers Insurance that they are doing you a favor to settle for as much as they did -- in spite of the fact their client was 100% at fault. My only recourse now is to tell my story to try to help others in the same situation. Ugly and very, very stressful.

Funny, when I got the same police report, it was on there with both parties.
I took my damaged car to the closest Farmers suggested body shop. Estimate of $1,800.00. I call adjuster with this information. She sends me to another Farmers body shop much further away. Now this appointment is scheduled via email directly to the body shop from Farmers. Funny again, this body shop low balls an estimate of $1200.00. I'm not stupid. I compared the estimates and the latter body shop is just going to mask off & paint (which is a poor repair style) vs removing weather strips & glass for optimum paint adhesion (without paint peeling later). The response, this is a Farmers insurance company, it's my job to pay out the minimal amount, that's the way it's done. End of call, done. A month later another rep from Farmers contacted me to tell me that the former rep was no longer working for Farmers and she would be handling my claim. It has been 6 months and Farmers is still refusing to reimburse me for ambulance charges, the lost day of work and my co pay to MY insurance for the medical bill at Stanford Medical Center. Farmers Insurance is indifferent to the fact that my car was totaled by their client, I had to buy a different car to get to my job 22 miles away. I have threatened to hire an attorney but still no response from this pathetic company. I don't know what my recourse is. None of this would have happened if their client hadn't rear ended my car. If anyone has any advice please let me know. Thanks.

I was waiting to turn left into a driveway, the other driver swung wide and hit me. Then she fled the scene. I chased her to try and get her license number. She stopped in the middle of the street, jumped out and said she panicked. She gave me her insurance information. The inter-arbitration between her State Farm Insurance and mine made it my fault. Then she claimed this little fender bender exacerbated her arthritis so they paid her $15,000 for medical bills. Now my driving record is screwed. I thought insurance was supposed to work to defend you. Not pay out thousands of dollars to scammers.

My son was in an accident, where someone Farmers insures hit him at full speed (40 mph) while he was stopped. Farmers immediately assumed liability for the accident. Then they proceeded to try to cheat us at every turn. They determined our car to be totaled. We had purchased the car (certified pre-owned) exactly 5 months ago to the day of the accident for $17,400. We had put about 3,000 miles on it, for just over 31,000 miles total. Not only was it low mileage it was loaded, even had a moonroof.
Farmers' first "offer" for our totaled car was $14,200. They eventually came up to $15,200. So in five months my car had depreciated in their opinion by more than $2,000. I understand this was "cash value" not "retail value"--at the end of the day I'm still the one paying the difference. ALSO... before their check was even in my account they wanted back the rental. So how do you buy a car in less than 24 hours? Most of us mere mortals need that check as a down payment. I asked for an extension and was told they couldn't approve it. Also, they NEVER asked if my son was okay after the accident. They tried to cut corners everywhere they could. It was an awful experience dealing with this company. No concern for people, just money money money.

I have been a client of Farmers Insurance, Kevin Brown Agent office in Las Vegas, NV, for two-plus years. I am dropping them "like a hot rock" due to their lousy and pathetic customer service, as well as the constant increases in insurance premiums. Customer service with this agent office is absolutely pathetic. I have tried over the two-plus years to contact my agent and had to continually call until I finally got hold of him to discuss issues. I finally had enough and decided to change insurance companies before my next renewal in March 2017. I talked with Jessica, a customer service representative at the office, and told her she was on a recorded line (I wanted to ensure I had proof of cancellation before they did an automatic billing for a renewal). She told me what I needed to send them, including a copy of the home and auto declaration page from the new insurance company.
I checked with the new company and asked if the new insurance declaration pages were required and was told no; most likely Farmers wanted it to see the new rate I would be paying to try to match it to keep me as a client. I called Jessica back and asked if she received the other information required and that I would not be sending the new declaration pages. She then sent me an email, by accident, in which she made snide remarks about me thinking she had sent the email to the agent, Kevin Brown. This example should give anyone thinking about becoming a client with the Kevin Brown Agent office in Las Vegas an idea of what to expect in customer service and how they are regarded as a Farmers Insurance client.
As for the constant rate increases, I drive a 17-year old car and have not had any accidents, claims, or incidents, yet my insurance keeps going up. I live in the Las Vegas, NV area where we do not have tornadoes, hurricanes, floods, earthquakes, volcanoes, forest fires, etc., and yet my homeowners insurance keeps going up. It took only a couple of telephone calls to find matching insurance at a lower premium. I do not know how good the other Farmers Insurance agency offices are with customer service, but I would strongly advise anyone considering becoming a client of the Farmers Insurance Kevin Brown Agent office in Las Vegas, NV, to look anywhere else.
