Your beneficiary will receive a bimonthly payout based on your income, and they will also receive $10,000 upfront to cover funeral expenses.

- Up to $10 million coverage

- Coverage available to children up to 26 years old
Our editor’s take
Good for parents looking to protect their children and spouse, Dayforward will provide regular income coverage for the insured’s children until they are 18, 21 or 26 – your choice. Insurance payouts are based on your income rather than a set lump-sum payout – which can be beneficial or disadvantageous depending on how much you earn. If you earn $60,000 or less, you might be able to get a higher insurance settlement with another company.
Additionally, if you are not an income-earning partner or spouse, Dayforward allows you to take out a policy, too, but for up to half the income your household earns. Other term life insurance companies might insure non-income earning partners and spouses for higher amounts.
Dayforward life insurance policies
Dayforward only offers term life insurance policies with terms between 10 to 27 years. Policies generally do not require a medical exam and are available to both healthy parents and those with health issues.
Dayforward is only available for U.S. citizens and permanent, legal residents between 18 and 50 years old.
It is not available in California, Connecticut, Florida, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, South Carolina, South Dakota, Virginia or West Virginia.
Dayforward riders
An insurance rider is an additional provision or modification made to your insurance policy that provides additional benefits at an extra cost. Riders allow you to customize your insurance policy so there are no gaps in your needs.
Dayforward offers the option to extend your coverage to further protect your family. You can increase or extend your coverage in the following events:
- You have a new child
- Your income increases due to a raise or a new job
You can extend your policy up to 10 years beyond the at-issue date unless this would result in you being covered past the age of 67.
Dayforward premiums and fees
Dayforward does not publish its premiums or fees online because costs vary by individual. Your premium will be determined by your age, your youngest child’s age and how much annual income you want protected.
Your premium will never go up unless you choose to extend your policy or income protection. Dayforward’s coverage is considered a diminishing term insurance policy since the death benefit decreases over time.
For example, an insured 34-year-old male in Alabama making $100,000 a year with a newborn would get a payout of $4,167 twice a month until the child is 21 if he were to pass away immediately. Dayforward would pay a total of $2,085,166 to the beneficiary. However, if this same man dies 10 years after taking out the policy, the monthly payout is the same, but the beneficiary would receive around $1 million less.
How to apply for a Dayforward policy
Applying for a Dayforward policy is done completely online and is a fast process. You start by entering your birth date, state, income and youngest child’s age (or check if you don’t have kids or are expecting). This will give you an estimate of how much insurance payout you can expect to receive.
After your estimation, you can fill out the application to see if you are eligible and get your rates. The process should take only a few minutes, and you will know if you are approved within a day, if not sooner. A medical test is not always required for every application, but if one is requested, Dayforward will send an examiner to your home or office for convenience.
How does Dayforward compare?
When compared with Bestow, Dayforward is a better pick for individuals who care more about income protection. Bestow offers term life insurance up to $1.5 million, whereas Dayforward offers up to $10 million in coverage, depending on your income and time of death. However, individuals earning less than $60,000 might get a bigger payout from Bestow.
Here are a few other differences between Dayforward and Bestow.
| Age limit | Terms | Medical exam required | State availability | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Dayforward | 18-50 | 10-27 years | In some cases | 35 states |
| Bestow | 18-60 | 10-30 years | No | 49 states |
FAQ
Can I get a Dayforward insurance policy if I don’t have a child?
Yes, you can still get a policy if you have a spouse or partner that depends on your income. Additionally, you have the option to add on a child beneficiary within the first five years of your policy.
Is there anything that would cause me to lose my benefits?
Yes, Dayforward will not honor your policy if you commit application fraud. Depending on your state, death by suicide in the first three years after opening your policy might also disqualify you.
Can I keep my policy if I move outside of the United States?
Yes, your policy must be active for two years before your move, and you must keep paying your premiums through a U.S. bank account or credit card.
Can I cancel a Dayforward life insurance policy?
Yes, you can cancel your policy at any time for any reason. However, if you were looking for a refund, you will need to cancel within the first 30 days before your first month’s premium.
Still have questions?
Is Dayforward legit?
Even though Dayforward is newer to the life insurance scene, all policies are reinsured by MunichRE, which has an A+ rating from A.M. Best. It is a good choice for parents who want to keep their families financially protected without having to sort through many different terms or options.
