This is the worst insurance of any type that I have ever had. The adjusters are in Florida. I live in Virginia. They do not care at all about your claim. My adjuster denied my claim in less than 24 hours before doing any investigation or sending someone out to our home. After speaking with a "supervisor". A gentleman came to the house stating that he was sent by Assurant as a third party vendor they use as an adjuster. He took pictures, etc. I know that he can not make the decision then and there, but he said over and over, "You absolutely have a total loss of use."
We did not have use of the entire downstairs of our home. Which includes the entire KITCHEN, living room, den, dining, and, 2 bathrooms out of 3 were not unusable. This went on for 4 months. They continued to come back and forth with different steps that they made us go through. Oh don't let me forget that I never heard back from anyone after the "adjuster" came out.
When I called and spoke with that supervisor that sent him out she said, "I don't know what you're talking about, we never sent anyone out there." I asked, "Who has all of those photos of our home?" she said that she didn't know that they did not have any photos. So she decided to just close out the claim again. Let me tell you this as well. All over Geico's advertising trying to sell their "bundling" plans it states that Assurant is secured by Geico. If you call Geico to try to get assistance with they will just transfer right back to Assurant. Don't get this renter's insurance if you actually want coverage.

I had no problem. The person that I talked with was very nice and answered my questions and concerns quickly and was very happy to help me with anything information I needed. I just wanted to make sure my payment was received for my records. Just you let you know I'm not sure what to put down for the "Order Number".

Had an issue with the master bathroom which flooded and destroyed majority of the belongings underneath the sink. I filed a claim and got approved same day!! I thought I would have to wait and answer more questions. Assurant has surpassed my expectations and deserve 5 stars from my experience with them.

My insurance adjuster Mr. Timothy ** was extremely patient and professional throughout my claim process. He worked extremely well with myself and my primary insurance claims adjuster to ensure my account information remained secure and advised me throughout on the best practices throughout as the consumer. I was advised that I did not need this supplement in my mortgage but insisted it be added. The costs of NOT having this added would have been overwhelming.

This company has been nothing but outstanding from the first time I ever started using them as a Rental Insurance Company. When I bought my first home I keep this same company just switched from rental insurance over to a Homeowner Insurance Policy. Definitely recommend this company for their insurance needs.

I have to get nominal liability insurance for my new apartment. The application process was quick and easy. The payment system was very easy and the payment options clearly defined. The premiums seemed not expensive and I have now been able to obtain my insurance for my property rental with little fuss. There are options to upgrade the current insurance if necessary which is good to know.

Satisfied client for over a decade. My only complaint is the online system would not allow me to enter the interested party information. Other than that, I have had no bad customer service interactions and Assurant personnel have always gone the extra mile to resolve any issue. That type of positive experience has kept me coming back time after time for rental insurance needs. I highly recommend Assurant products and services.

I had only owned my house for about 2 months when the hot water tank had failed. Assurant covered leaking hot water tank but mostly I am happy about the support when my neighbor's house burning damaged my house. My home repair included siding, window, soffits, eve troughs and some roofing. The payment for the repair was to me in six weeks.

Fortunately I have never had the need to use my policy. The easy renewal of my Assurant Renters Insurance policy is just that, easy. Year to year, I never have to worry about renewal. My policy is a good peace of mind. When our minds are so cluttered, we need this.

This company is lucky to have such a dedicated employee who takes pride in her service to customers! I am currently in the process of putting the renters insurance Global P&C team's feet to the fire as they have been giving me the runaround for almost 2 years. After a very scary and violent home invasion in which I was the victim they refused to pay out or even recognize me as a human. It's absolutely devastating and one of the nastiest experiences I've ever been a part of, and that includes the reason I'm even dealing with them being my home invasion. I have gotten $3000 back after losing $120,000.00 worth of my goods and things I worked my whole life for! The fact one American can do this to another for their company is crazy! People need to have some dignity.
This process has been almost as stressful as the robbery! I am just trying to move on with my life and put this behind me but I have bills and a life to put back together after the scum people did this to me and really the Assurant team might as well have been working with the robbers as they clearly have no regard for people's trauma!

It was horrible. I paid my renters insurance every month for years. My house were done because of electrical and they wouldn't even call me back. I got nothing. Had to live with my aunt trying to call them to get nowhere. Do not recommend. I will never get renters insurance again because it's pointless.

Ease of obtaining policy. Speed of documents. Helpful agent with obtaining the proper coverage I needed. Home is not in a flood zone and agent was able to omit the coverage for flooding. I have had this policy before on a previous home and would recommend for anyone with a modular home.

Beginning process and thus far I'm happy with process. Will have more complete answer when done. Little more information as to how procedure works in the beginning would have been a little bit more understandable. Such depreciated value would have to be paid out of pocket. That once check is received where it goes and why I receive it first then to lender.

This is the worst place ever. I filed a claim way back in May, only to be given the runaround and now we are in August. I turned in everything possible that they asked for. The adjuster Julio was frantic from the start because he was backed up in his work! He lied, and lied for months about what was going on with the claim. Not one time did he bother coming out to assess any damages or property loss. I have reached out to Julio A, his manager Alex H, His manager's manager Marlin V, and another manager Hombero G. I have not got any return call, update, information or any of the above. You can call for days and get no response.
They then send out another company who is an adjuster for property loss after 3 full months. This company is the worst ever. I would not recommend you insure a piece of dog food through them. I now have legal assistance and they are looking into this for me. Awful, liars, misleading, mismanagement, no professionalism at all. I even reached out to GEICO and all they did was get the adjuster to call me. These folks are going to end up with so many lawsuits they can’t even stand to keep up with..

I'm a resident of Rosenberg Tx and went through 9hrs of hurricane beryl. During the night we had a power surge that fried my electric items. My deductible is more than the damages but I'm a valued customer with them over these years. I never thought I wouldn't be left out in the dark to replace my own items out of my pocket.

Very helpful during a highly stressful time. Guided me through everything I needed in a quick phone call and was patient with my being a first-time renter/claimer and also in the middle of the move across country with a toddler. (If I had to find a negative, there was some confusion during the calls with thinking it was my husband's phone/policy and there were a LOT of calls I missed due to family life, but it was trying to get info or keeping us informed so take that with a grain of salt.)

Excellent communication and customer service. My claim was submitted, processed and paid within 17 days. I filed the claim on the 7th and funds were in my account on the 24th. I've been with Assurant for years and never needed to file a claim and was pleasantly surprised at the amount and timely communication. I'll transfer my policy wherever I go. Thank you.

I filed a claim for a large leak that originated in the apartment above mine, soaking my entire bedroom while I was at work. My adjuster, Jasmine, called me and I submitted everything as I was told in early February 2024. I asked for a confirmation (multiple times) that she had received everything and never heard back. For weeks, I assumed she had everything, but after a while I started calling and emailing to make sure. She LITERALLY never once answered her phone, returned a single voice message, replied to an email or text message. She later claimed that I hadn't submitted the photos and then she mysteriously found them. A couple of months went by, NO contact, left two voicemails for her manager, hoping he would call me back and still nothing. They finally denied my claim saying that they couldn't figure out the source of the leak, even though I told her this the first time we spoke (we spoke three times in three months).
She had even asked for my landlord's information back in February and I sent it by text that day. The third time I spoke to her three months later, she said they needed photos of the repairs and I told her that it was impossible, since the repairs had taken place three months before, in someone else's apartment. She never contacted my landlord. When I asked why she didn't contact him, she said, "I had no reason to contact him." To which I replied, "Then why did you ask for his information?" She had no answer, my tiny claim was eventually denied (prob around $500 after a $500 deductible) because they said they "could not identify the source of the leak." These people are completely incompetent. I am canceling them and I will also contact and cancel Geico for bundling me with this horrible company.

My experience with Assurant beat.nt was enjoyable. I have no complaints about the inspector or the adjustor. My inspector explained everything that would happen, and it did. My adjustor told me about the payout and how I would work—just as he said it would happen. I would recommend this company in a heartbeat.

I had to put in my first claim for hail damage and the service was excellent! They walked me through it and settled it in a timely manner. They made me feel comfortable and addressed my needs very quickly. The settlement was a fair amount and made me whole again.

Very easy process, I just sit and you do all the work for me! That is greatly appreciated. The rates are reasonable and I've never had to file a clam, but if so, I'm sure it would be an easy process as well. Definitely recommend this company to others. I've been a customer for years and have no intentions of changing in the near future. It's helpful to have car and renters insurance bundled, discounts are nice to have.

It was easy and quick to file claim. Questions were simple and easy to answer. Representative was friendly and showed concern for my damage. The link was easy to do as well. I appreciate the concern and the process went smoothly. My roof got a leak in it due to a storm in the middle of the night which was unexpected and aggravating, so having to file a claim I thought would be stressful but it wasn't.

The policy was worth it and never had a problem with it. Plan on renewing for the price and the customer service out of the two other places weren’t as good. The last insurance company gave me problems with customer support and I had to jump through hoops to get them to pay for my TV when it was stolen despite several attempts to get customer service to help with the transaction.

The application process and coverage is excellent. The agent found me the best plan for the best coverage and rate. Coverage in my state is difficult and my agent worked with me to find a policy that met my urgent needs. It is also bundled with my auto policy which is an added bonus.

It is easy to renew and get documents to my landlord right away. The price is better than the landlord's 'preferred' company and saving money is always great! Being able to access my account from my auto insurance site is convenient. I can break up the payments into monthly installments or just pay one flat amount which is what I prefer.

I pay my fee every month, and there are no surprises. I get no bothersome emails. It's easy. I do get letters telling me of any changes. I am satisfied that I am covered and that also satisfies my Landlord's requirements. The fee is also fair pricing, in my opinion.

Adjuster came out in Timely manner and inquired about damages, took pictures, measurements and explained the process. I was told that if I had not heard from them in 2 weeks to call the adjuster and they would look into it for me. Check was insured as soon as process was done. All questions I had about claim were answered promptly and in a timely manner. Explanation of deductible was explained.

This is the worst company for renters insurance. Don’t waste your money or your time. I had sewage backup and water issues from the rain and weather, and they have a scheme for every problem - to not pay you! I had to leave my house for a month and they still found a way to not pay me because it had to be an Airbnb. Run from this company, they are the worst! Just like every other insurance company, they just want your money but when you need help, they don’t want to help you. Worse company ever dealt with in my life! Customer service is nasty and people don’t wanna work today. It’s very disappointing that this is the world we live in.

Have Assurant for many years. Had one claim during that time. High sheer wind stripped the shingles of our roof. We were quickly covered leaving us and the Contractor happy. I would certainly recommend Assurant/Geico insurance. They furnished insurance to us in very remote locations in Alaska and now in Southern Colorado at very fair prices.

Other insurance companies charge more with less to offer. Discount when added car and motorcycle also Identity Theft. You can't beat it.

We have never had to use our renters insurance. It’s just something that we are required to have a place that we rent and we have been using this company through Geico since I don’t know like 20 years and it is something that is just a benefit to have. The homeowners require it everywhere we go and we have always stayed with this company because I have been with Geico for 31 years.

My service of ordering the insurance was fine. The processor got my needs and recommended the insurance I needed. There was only a small delay in getting copy of the policy due to computer issues at the time. But I called back and they resent them right out with no problem.

I have been calling this company for 2 days even the supervisor! Do not go with this rental insurance. They do not respond to calls and are no help because it is not their stuff so they do not care nor return calls. They send emails back with the same repetitive answers.

Easy and interactive User Interface helped a lot while registering for the policy. If your property is already connected in their network they will directly pull in minimum required coverage information of the property so you don't have to worry about setting up limits or anything. So far Assurant has treated me with kindness and respect after the horrific experience of being robbed of a significant amount of valuables overnight by a bunch of hooligans of a past known associate. This was a targeted organized attack on me and my home. I sincerely hope they work with local law enforcement to prosecute these individuals to the full extent of the law for reimbursement of the claim. Easy process, clear paperwork, and it's always on time. Customer service has always been helpful, knowledgeable and professional. I stick with Assurant due to these reasons. I had an apartment management team reject my renewal form because the name of my apartment was not listed. I called customer service and they handled it without another call. When my renewal came in, they sent the renewal information directly to the management office. I no longer need to lift a finger.

Process was simple and instructions were easy to follow. Items were easy to list and select from drop down search bar. Overall very nice experience at a time of hardship and sadness from my loss. I expected to be confused and frustrated using the online submission option for reporting my losses and was pleasantly surprised to find the process so straightforward and clearly instructed.
Listing the items that were stolen from me was simple and submitting my documents and Police report was quick and effortless really. Layout was simple to view and understand and it made getting all of the necessary information to the people that need it to finalize my claim and get me my necessary help sooner than battling back and forth with agents answering machines. I like have an agent assigned to my case as well, but this online claims process was extremely easy and helpful. I recently filed a claim due to a flood in my house and when I made the initial claim to file I was very detailed about what happened in my apartment. My first rep Kenarldine ** was excellent and very communicative with handling my claim. She kept me informed, navigated me through my policy and was very informative and communicated with me times to call due my schedule as I teach during the day. I was assigned another rep that I am very displeased with and have never felt devalued, belittled and discriminate on as a customer by Sheldon **. This man has argued with me on the phone on a recorded line and has talked over top of me and refused to let me speak to management.
I have never dealt with a company where I am basically working to solve my own claim. I have submitted emails from my rental office in regards to the claim, I have submitted videos where you can see the water damage and have been putting in the work. My previous rep reached out to my rental office but I am assuming by the time they reached out the case was transferred. Sheldon told me to keep trying and in my policy it states that is the insurance company's job to do. I have paid my insurance and had a flood in my house and I have been doing all the work for him as if I work for Assurant. I have asked to speak to supervisors on numerous occasions and connected me once to one and did not inform the manager of the issue beforehand as he explained he did and the manager said on a recorded line that he was not his regular manager and he's currently out of town and he apologized and said he was new. I was very upset about that.
Today he told me that he could be handling more cases in the 9 minutes that he had left until 5 then to keep repeating the same info and it was not repeating the same info. I was asking why do I have to keep reaching out to the rental office when he has yet to do so. I am very displeased and I have turned in so much and dealing with the agony, anxiety and pain of seeing all that water in my house and having to deal with being less valued, demeaned, disrespected for insurance I am paying for. I would have never selected this company if I knew that I would be treated like this. I hope they can go back to all the recorded calls and listen to see how their employee talks and makes customers feel less valued. I will be seeking legal counsel.

We made a claim for a roof leak. Someone came out and determined there was nothing wrong with the existing shingles. We did go ahead and have a new roof put on in 2023. We had a contractor come in and paint the ceilings where they were water stained. My dissatisfaction is that whoever came to assess the roof, didn't introduce themselves or leave any business card or door hanger to let us know they were here. For all we know, no one physically came out to inspect our roof and just submitted a report indicating to deny our claim.

In the beginning of the process, I felt that it was very difficult as it seemed they wanted me to "jump through hoops", but after they explained the reasoning behind it, I understood it. I would recommend this company to anyone. I like that it was all able to be done online and when I wanted to speak with a representative it was an easy phone call.

My claim adjuster, Ms. Alaysia **, did an excellent job processing my claim. She is professional, knowledgeable and was concerned about my loss. She clearly demonstrated that she is an asset for Assurant. Rebecca **, my adjuster did an outstanding job. I understand she was very busy but really took the time to return my call and messages. I was missing a few items on my claim and she took the time to send me reminders. Once all the information was submitted she worked with me to ensure my claim was properly. The people are bright, capable and nice to deal with. I was actually pleasantly surprised how easy they made my job loss claim -submitted the requested simple form with requested backup and because it was an insurance company I was worried they might delay or stall, but nope- easy. I filed a complaint of loss on 1/26. Today is 3/19 and I am just finding out my claim was closed only after logging in. The adjuster Cassandra C. was horrible throughout the entire process. I was not informed throughout the process. I accurately and efficiently submitted all requested proof and documentation needed to prove loss via HPD DOCS, PICS, VIDEOS, ETC. Long story short I was told my claim was closed because the building management did not respond to them. However that should not fall on me. I've did everything on my behalf only be told there's nothing they can do. My ceiling is literally on the floor due to a broken pipe and all my property is damaged and THERE'S NOTHING THEY CAN DO. Yet I've paid my premium in advance and in full. Do not purchase their renters insurance. They are horrible. They provide poor customer service and is not worth the headache.

The process was simple. The hardest part was getting the apartment complex management to return the call to your claims agent. The agent was diligent and kept us in the loop. Definitely happy with the outcome, though I would not like to have to use it again. The payment was received in just a few days.

Horrible, horrible, horrible! I do not recommend this for renters insurance. My car was stolen over a month ago and the adjuster gets back to me at his convenience. Awful communication and they do not care because it’s not their personal issue. I have yet to receive compensation for the items stolen in my car. They give you the runaround so you don’t get paid and just stop calling. The adjusters never answer their messages or return yours. So sad people have to beg to get the compensation they pay for monthly.

**DO NOT USE ASSURANT.** A COMPLETE SCAM! IN SO MANY WAYS! My first adjuster NEVER answered one voicemail or message! After a month, I started calling the manager & leaving several voicemails a week - no answer. After months, I decided to call Geico who IMMEDIATELY was able to transfer me to someone at Assurant after I explained that I consulted a lawyer who would be reaching out on my behalf. JUST AWFUL! They failed to tell me that my adjuster no longer worked for the company! So my claim has just been tossed to in the dust with hundreds of others who are suffering because of their lack of duty and care.
Upon so many horrible things they've done, they never tell you that certain things are MAXED out of your compensation. Meaning if you lost $6,000 worth of electronics, they come up with some false statement saying you will be paid out for the maximum payout of $2,000 for electronics. WHERE DOES IT SAY IT ON THE POLICY? My lawyer cannot seem to find it either. It has been a whirlwind of lies and being mislead. How can you treat people like this?!

I had a fire in my tractor. I called my insurance agent on a Saturday and got a voicemail. Thought I would have to wait till Monday, but I got a call back from the Agent in less than 10 minutes. I was extremely impressed with my agent. She encouraged me to file my claim even though I felt that it would not be worthwhile. What kind of insurance company does that? Extremely impressed.

I did appreciate the speed with which the whole process was undertaken and completed. However, I was confused by receiving a check in the mail with no further explanation of whether this was for me to deposit or if I had to use it to pay the contractors/managers of the property. I had to make several calls to my property manager before I could get a clear statement of the process.

Updated on 09/12/2024: After an absolutely horrible claim experience where the company was deceitful, made mistakes on our claim and refused to communicate with us, we finally agreed to a recoverable depreciation value. We were told that once we submitted the receipts it would take 4 business days to receive the funds. Fast forward 6 months: Again we’re having to fight with the company to pay out the claim! We submitted receipts 3 weeks ago. It took an agent 3 days just to respond to our message. 2 weeks after that, they told us the receipts needed “upper management approval” which would take another 5 days. Today we’ve been told that they need additional information with no further communication. I’ve left 4 voicemails and sent 2 emails to the Director of Claims Director and I've yet to have anyone return my message. What a disgraceful company. Avoid them at all cost!
Original: Our rental was broken into and a lot of our property was stolen. Assurant is only paying 30% of the value of the property that were stolen despite our coverage being above the total value. They have assigned limits to certain categories that we were not told about despite speaking to a representative to clarify the policy when we signed up. They have made mistakes on the value of our items in spite of providing receipts. They have overly depreciated items that would cost significantly more to replace and expect us to incur the out of pocket expense. They refuse to provide any value for items that don't have receipts in spite of showing proof of ownership. There is literally no point in paying for their insurance.

I've had limited interaction with customer service representatives over the years that I have had this policy, but every time, I've been provided with excellent service by super knowledgeable reps… Accessing everything online is a dream. It's so easy to change and update policy information personal account information and navigation on the site is exceptional as well. Assurant insurance company is truly a great company to have on your side for all your insurance needs. Their staff, agents and adjusters are truly responsive, compassionate and supportive when those dreaded unexpected events for which you have insurance strike. I really couldn’t praise them enough especially when I had to deal with some other insurance providers who ignore you, stall you and simply try to see disappear so they won’t deliver the help they are supposed to render when our home was flooded by a busted pipe.

My ceiling fell in my bathroom on 1/19. They aren't open weekends, they close early during the week. When Monday arrived someone called me basically said, "We can't do anything for you. Your policy doesn't cover that and it actually did." She told me, "Well you should just wash any clothes that was damaged and if it's with it send in the receipt and we'll see if you can get reimbursed." I've cancelled them as my renter insurance for February because of this. Just rude and disrespectful!

I have had the worst experience trying to go through a claims process for mold. My claim was denied immediately due to ambiguous language in the policy, that didn't even apply to my claim, later to be told that it just denies it like that because it took too long to receive documentation. We had the independent adjuster come out, and prove all my items were ruined with mold, I provided a plethora of photos of the damage, and my property management has provided documentation to prove the cause of the mold.
This claim has been open for 4 months, and I can't even get in contact with my claims adjuster or her manager. I have called over 65 times, and left them both over 10+ messages, and never receive a call back or any updates. Every time we've provided additional documentation it takes a month and they update me saying they need something more, when me and my property management have provided everything they've asked for, which is plenty to finalize this claim. They feel no obligation to resolve this in a timely manner, and has caused me nothing but stress when trying to figure out how I'm going to be able to replace my items that have been ruined.

I’ve been a customer for a few years and each contact with customer service has been pleasant. Very helpful when answering questions on claims and managing my policy. Monthly premiums are average price and have been offered to change companies but I declined. When I moved I was given quotes to switch that were same price. But I haven’t had issues with Assurant.

Assurant emailed me for proof of insurance several times, each time asking for an update, and each time I provided it for the entirety of Jan.. Then, on Feb. 1, they attempted to charge me for a policy they were forcefully giving to me. Absolutely a con service and I am glad I keep my emails. Furthermore, on my first call, the rep hung up on me after looking at my file. During the second call, the lady explained to me that it was a system issue with my file and had to put me on hold for a minute to fix everything. This equates to me that the first guy was a lazy bum and didn't want to deal with it. Any company that attempts to force a policy on anyone is a horrible company, and it should be illegal—third party or not.

The Assurant website claims process was fast, self-explanatory, and very user friendly. In my situation it asked every relevant question for my situation. If there was a question I could not answer, it would tell me "that's alright, we will address it when we do the inspection". I also got an immediate response.

We had a break-in in our new home before Christmas, leaving my kids & I broken spirited and without many of our day to day functioning items. A police report was made and leasing agent supported us in whatever we needed. The officer was even kind and went over and beyond to make sure we had what we needed. The only people who were not sympathetic to our misfortunate event and did not care about what we needed as a family, was our claims adjuster. It is going on 6 weeks since we had our items stolen and our adjuster has found every reason in the book to delay this process. And not once has she offered any kind of emotion, instead all business and runarounds making us feel even more like victims. Horrible experience all around.

I had a fire on March 3, 2022 and now being January 25, 2024 and my claim has not been fully settled. I have given to them all receipts, personal property sheets, and pictures that they requested. I have had 2 adjusters now. With this last one being very rude, even to the point he made me cry. I scanned and submitted over the policy coverage. And if anyone knows how it feels to have a fire and lose everything and I mean everything. I had forgotten items on my first personal property sheets I am devastated over losing everything I owned and some things can't be replaced and when submitting the items I had forgotten about and also not to mention I had to also go through what they had paid for but was less than what the receipts totaled. As well as their policy also states they don't deduct depreciation. Well, that's not true either. They deducted over a thousand dollars for depreciation.
My adjuster failed to contact me about my claim and when I finally reached out to his manager not getting to talk to him but leaving a message. My adjuster contacted me. Then he was inconsiderate, rude, talking over me and forcing me to hang up on him because he has made me cry. I thought that insurance company worked for us. I have since then reached out to everyone possible and yet I still have had NO RETURN CALLS. I am so disappointed in this company and will be taking further action if need be. My service for this claim was efficient, very helpful and informative. The person that came to view and make report on damages was very efficient. Maria ** was awesome, she was very informative, patient and helpful. I would surely recommend this company to anyone who asks. I found Assurant's online claim process to be easy to understand, as I followed through successfully on the instructions that this online claim tool provided me, while filling out my claim. I was also contacted by an agent who explained the rest of the process to me over phone. Soon after, I was contacted by a company they work with that helps evaluate damages to personal belongings.

Pipe burst and flooded bedroom, getting my bed wet and flooding carpet. The fire dept shut off the system and it is now in the works to be repaired. I contacted Assurant and filed a claim immediately so I can have this matter resolved asap. The staff at the complex is being helpful and I look forward to having a new bed soon.

The one time when we needed to submit a claim there was perfect response for payment to contractor for repairing fire damage. Work was scheduled by contractor and my wife, daughter and I was back in our home within 30 days. We were absolutely happy and thankful.

Water lines inside the walls broke and flooded our apartment. Home unlivable until leak detected, lines replaced and water restored. Though some clothing was ruined, furniture was okay. Quick action by our landlord minimized our losses. We were very satisfied with the handling of our claim. Kudos to Alexandra.

They have automatic renewal, which is a nice feature. There don't seem to be any problems, so so far, so good. They're easy to deal with, I like having a buffer zone for my possessions. The price is also right, so that's good. I would recommend them. Nobody else offers this type of insurance in this area. Thank you.

The manufactured home building and buying process was complicated and dates changed a lot and they have been on top of everything we needed every step of the way. We appreciate them and we appreciate how affordable and complete their coverage is. Assurant has been very good to deal with. I have a mobile home / fish camp and the coverage on that is not cheap compared to my homeowner's policy on our main house but I have been very satisfied with the interaction with adjusters and quick timing of payment on my 2 claims.

Our car was broken into during broad daylight on a Sunday afternoon. They broke two windows. My wife’s pocketbook was stolen with many valuable items inside. Assurant claim rep Chantelle was great! Professional, courteous and so helpful and patient with us as we’re are not overly tech savvy. While I never really reviewed or looked much at the policy, I was surprise how comprehensive it was! After feeling so violated and knowing some criminal is walking around with our items, it was so refreshing to have a person such as Chantelle guiding us through the process!

When the electronic bike my father gave me as a 30th birthday present was stolen we were devastated and very stressed about such a loss. In the warmer months that bike is my primary form of transportation. Fortunately the process of using Assurant was easy using the portal and the information required for my claim was relevant. I have never filed an insurance claim for stolen property before, but I found the process to be user friendly and smart. They emailed me right away once my claim was filed with next steps so I wasn't left in the dark.

Good home insurance with reasonable price for people with good credit scores and no fault insurance claims. I think insurance companies that charge high prices to responsible owners of a home and vehicles just to compensate for other people's foolish actions or decisions to live in high risk areas need to be driven out of business!

A power surge incapacitated our refrigerator while we were on a pet sitting assignment at a family member's house. All food in freezer and refrigerator was lost. A claim filed with Assurant was easy and the agent maintained consistent communication through the settlement and afterwards to make sure the funds were received. I had a house fire 2 yrs ago back in January 2021. The efficiency & professionalism of Assurant claims & customer service agents was exceptional & first class treatment & star-power in helping me while I recover from my 46% 2nd degree burns that I have overcome based on that ordeal. I definitely do not mind shouting praises and word of mouth of referral about Assurant to anyone who might be interested in their insurance needs. Assurant offers a very easy process to purchase Renters Insurance online. Also the website is User Friendly and pretty easy to navigate. The prices are also very reasonable. I will share my experience with my friends and family. I also had the opportunity to use the Chat Feature with one of your Chat Reps. and she was very helpful. I will remain a Assurant customer for Life! I am renting a new Apartment and I needs Renters Insurance to move into the new unit. I was so happy that it only took me about 10 minutes to purchase my Renters insurance policy.

I have not had a recent experience with Assurant. My only interaction has been with billing and that has been non eventful. I am on an auto renewal program and thus far has been flawless. Assurant appears to be an organized company. I would recommend them to friends and family.

Filed claim May 16 due to flood in apartment from a unit above. Claim is still not settled despite providing all required information months ago. Was initial told claim was closed prematurely after I was forced to relocate. I was told claim was reopened and would be processed 'in a few days'. I was told this many times. Assurant no longer replying to emails or many phone calls. Adjusters have been unprofessional, dishonest and unreachable. No integrity from Mr. ** or Mr. **.

Claim Filing Process was very simple and straight forward. You log in and then click file. Filled out my basic account information for a few mins and then spent about another 10 mins uploading documents to email and then drag and drop to their claim webpage. Submitted and now wait up to 2 days for reply.

I have never had to file an insurance claim in my entire life thank god. However back in October I had some personal items stolen. They have been taking me through hell after I have provided my receipts. They said they also reached out to the company I bought one of my products from and they still aren’t satisfied. I’m thinking of getting a public adjuster because it’s ridiculous how long I have been waiting. I will never use this company ever again!

The website was simple and easy to navigate. When I called the 800 number they were very accommodating in explaining things step by step. I never thought it would be as easy as going on the computer and just filling a few things out. I would recommend Assurant to anyone and I am very hard to satisfy. They went above and beyond expectations.

I called to file a claim on November 11th due to a dryer fire. Unfortunately not only did it affect the laundry room but it ruined everything in my living room & kitchen caused by the water damage from the sprinkler system that went off. The floors were completely lifted to the point you could not walk on them, they had to be replaced. The walls were destroyed from all the smoke damage and had to be repainted. We were living in a hotel for a total of 19 days. I sent them a list of items that were completely destroyed. Plus I had all of my receipts for most of all my items because my husband and I believe in keeping receipts. They are now stating they will only give us a certain about for these items. This is beyond unacceptable. This is why people pay yearly for renter's insurance is to be protected.
We've been dealing with Ashlynn but she is not making this process any easier for us. I've been texting & calling every day to get answers but nothing. I need a supervisor or manager to get back to me. I'm beyond frustrated & mentally exhausted from everything and HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED with Assurant. I would not recommend this insurance company to anyone.

After having Allstate for over 40 years (Car, Renters, Home Owners, Life . . . ). Putting up with their mistakes of changing policies to Car, Life and the grand finality of canceling our Home Owners Policy because they could not find our Home (which has been in the exact same spot for 24 Years). Then we find that they dropped the value and coverage to a 1/3rd as well as dropped certain coverages without letting us know. To make matters worse after they find our Home is exactly where it always has been they try to get us to take a C Rated half ** insurance co. We are looking forwards to working with your company and being able to let friends and family know we have the coverage we thought we had from the beginning.
