This is the worse renters insurance you could get. They don’t want to pay claims, even when you submit everything they required to pay. I had feedback from others people about dealing with renters insurance and it was not that difficult. I sent proof of my lose and receipt and I was fully honest and they pay a third of my new laptop bought a year and a half ago. They make it to difficult for you to drop the claim. Not good!

It frustrates me that I spent the money to get a monitored security system and cameras thinking it would certainly get me a discount on homeowner’s insurance. Only to find out that it “doesn’t in my state“.

Fraud Company. Please stay away from it. They will make every effort to not pay you. They will not pick you call. They will close your claim without any resolution. They will ghost you. Waste of time and energy.

Danny ** was terrific. He was patient and understanding. He was also very knowledgeable, and explained things in terms that I could understand. Suggestions were made to better my coverage. The process was very educational as well. Even though my claim was not covered, I learned a lot, tweaked my homeowners insurance, and will be more secure with my coverage moving forward.

I cannot being to express how disappointing my experience has been with Assurant. Despite holding renters insurance with Assurant for many years the one time I need them they have been cold, and unresponsive. A little over 2 weeks ago there was a water line break that caused water to pour into my apartment, ruining most of my belongings. It must have started early in the day because by the time I got home there were already parts of my ceiling on the ground. I have invested in nice items in my home and have provided ample documentation, video, pictures, and receipts.

⭐☆☆☆☆ One Star – Consumers Beware. Dealing with Assurant has been one of the most frustrating experiences I’ve ever had. After paying for renters insurance that is supposed to protect me, I filed a claim and was given a lowball settlement with no real explanation. I have called and called for weeks, asking to speak with a manager and my calls go unanswered. It feels like once they offer you an amount, they disappear and hope you’ll just accept it.

My insurance adjuster is Logan **. I have tried to contact her numerous times. Constantly sending in the same documents she ask. I'm simply complying. I had a vandalism to my home back in June. Submitted all the paperwork and no response. Received a email back in August stating the determination will take 7-14 business days. Rather text than talk. Her supervisor never returns my calls. It's overwhelming to left on the back burner.

The Customer Service is excellent. The agent very knowledgeable and friendly. They made this process easy and smooth. I recommend this company to anyone. The prices are very competitive as well. I have had this company for two years with no problems.

Very easy to open the policy. The process was very quick and efficient. The representative was very helpful on the phone and was easily able to answer all my questions and address all my concerns. She clearly explained all the details of the policy and made relevant recommendations.

Had this insurance already for the past 2 years and I love it. Despite I've thankfully haven't had the need to file any claims, but the easy-ness of creating a new policy for my next upcoming apartment and adding it to the same account as my current one is very convenient so I can see both in the meantime if needed. It's always simple. It automatically renews every year and my documents are emailed to me. It's the easiest bill/account I have. NEVER change!! :) They always email me reminders well before my due date. Customer service Is always easy and everyone is very polite.

The service provide was and is still considered to be excellent. I have used the firm for the last three (3) years and have not experience any difficulties or issue with the firm. Perhaps it is because I have never has to file a claim (lol), otherwise there was nothing wrong or requiring improvement or changes with my policy or the firm's services. All was good and ok.

Everything is good. My house needs more insurance but you make it difficult to increase it. Said I have to get a realtor's assessment which I would have to pay for. Won't accept my county's real estate assessment. Makes no sense. Please change this rule.

My experience has been extremely disappointing. My apartment was broken into....thousands upon thousands of dollars of my belongings were stolen. I am being treated like a fraud. They are denying my claim and are indirectly implying my claim is frivolous. My uncle and I were wrongfully thrown out because we got broke into and the apartment complex refused to pay for repairs. They billed us for the repairs.

My renter's insurance was easy to obtain from Assurant with better pricing and smooth processing. Timely reminders about policy expiry is helpful. It's been more than 16 months and I don't have any issues. I have refereed my friends as well. Highly recommended!

Some of the questions only had an option for yes or no but no option to bypass when the answer wasn't exactly as straightforward as the options but other than that submitting the claim took a bit of time but was straightforward and pretty easy to understand so that was great.

Filing my claim was easy. I just answered the necessary questions about my situation. The claim agent is taking care of the rest. Sending pictures from my phone was fast and easy. When I moved to a 14 story high rise apt bldg 3 years ago in downtown St Petersburg Florida, I knew that getting Renters Insurance should be the first thing I do. Plus I have had my car insured with GEICO for several years. Great customer service and great prices. My entire county is considered a "flood zone" but my immediate area is "low flood zone/ non evacuation zone". That doesn't comfort me at all. My furniture and art mean everything to me. Years of hard work to acquire nice stuff and I'm very comforted knowing I'm insured. I encourage all Renters to do the same.

Assurant is my go to provider for affordable, reliable renter's insurance. I was introduced to Assurant through my car insurance provider, which is GEICO. I trust GEICO and now I trust Assurant. They have been my renter's insurance provider for several years and I've never had any issues. My coverage is affordable, the portal is modern and reliable and most importantly, policy management is always easy. I thought I was going to have to cancel once when I was moving and that process was easy, and it was just as easy when I needed to reinstate my policy. Billing and renewal are always easy and seamless. No surprises. Nothing unexpected. When I move into my house I will continue my coverage with them. Highly recommend.

I’m extremely disappointed with my experience with Assurant. I filed a renters insurance claim after my car was broken into—already a frustrating and stressful situation. I submitted all requested documents to the adjuster assigned to my claim, Trianna M., and was expecting clear follow-through. Instead, without any phone call or explanation, she closed my claim. Her lack of communication and dismissive attitude were completely unprofessional. I reached back out to Assurant to get the claim reopened and was told someone would contact me within 48 hours. That never happened.

A large fear senior Californian homeowners have is the affordability of increases in our day to day expenses. Insurance premiums are a huge part of that concern. For people like myself, an increase doesn't mean one less vacation per year- there aren't any to begin with. It means cutting back on quality health care, food and activities. Very easy to file a claim with clear instructions. I also appreciated being emailed immediately with the instructions and the length, as well as a follow-up email from a claims examiner as quickly as I did. Would not pay for my Hurricane Milton claim and basically ruined me. $70,000 of furnishings gone without replacement after fighting every step of the way with annoying young people who obviously discourage people from filing a claim.

Assurant is a very good mobile home insurance. However, I am now retired and only having financing from social security. So, the good insurance is the best to me, but I am now having to be very economical to keep the important insurance for my home that was provided due to the flooding of Harvey.

Always takes care of their customers, never any issues, and handles claims rights away. I will always be a loyal customer and recommend them. It was simple and not complicated but I am unsure what else they want me to say here except that I would recommend it to anybody who needed renters insurance and needed an uncomplicated simple experience that was effective enough to get everything done and not stressed a person out to help them fill it. I never had any changes or any claims. The renewal of my policy was easy. Fully communicated. I have used Assurant for several years at several locations. There has never been a problem. Even when I had to cancel because of a move, they reimbursed the remainder of the pro-rated monies quickly.

Everything went very smoothly. I have no complaints. The insurance is put in with my mortgage and every year I get a breakdown of what the insurance goes towards and what is in escrow. It is a very smooth transaction. I would recommend this insurance company when buying a mobile home.

The process for filing a claim is very easy. You are guided step by step through the process. Now to see how long it takes for a claim adjuster to call me. Assurant is much better than any other company for Renter's insurance in my opinion. The price for the Liability Limits is fair. Assurant seems to be more familiar with the Apartment Buildings in Florida in terms of their Construction, and date built. When they are not sure, they will ask for a photo. I have recommended them to others before. I would recommend them over Allstate.

Worst customer service on phone and chat, won’t respond to emails…. After you cancel policy they will talk.. what a bunch of bums. I cancelled my policy and they didn’t cancel until the next day, ridiculous, called back twice, customer service very bad…. Overseas customer service.. 🤣🤡🤡🤡 finally cancelled my policy…. Charged me $51 for 2 months, cancels my payment, refunds my $51, 1 month later I get a email for a payment of $68…. Ridiculous, emailed the 7 times no response… finally cancelled my insurance, so I thought I cancelled, and they charge me $68 the next day, called in to complained, they said we never cancelled your policy, finally send me a email saying policy cancelled…. Spoke to a lady in Florida about my policy 2 months ago, she had a bad attitude… didn’t get her coffee that morning m, most of their customer service, in the Philippines or Latin America… no English speaking customer service…

It was really quick and easy to get home insurance for my apartment in Lauren Ridge and the price is right for our needs as policyholders. I recommend this insurance made available to future tenants of Lauren Ridge. For us as expatriates it is not easy to know which insurance to choose among all those on the market, that is why it is really easy with this kind of proposal to have home insurance

Price was fair, transaction was seamless, all done as promised! All-in-all I hate dealing with Insurance Companies, but this was as painless as it gets. I was happy to renew with Assurant. Cross my fingers it goes as well next February when renewal comes up again! An inflation index on coverage amount is helpful as well.

The only thing that would make my experience better is to be able to save payment methods without them needing to be set on autopay. I have to type in my payment info every time.

It was easy to renew with Geico. Policy renewal date was provided, options for payment methods described. Notice was provided two months in advance. I transferred from my previous insurance company to a repeatable company such as geico.

All communications have been received and understood and any time I call for information I am greeted with a friendly and knowledgeable associate. For this reason I will be with Assurant for many years to come. Great company to be with. I will be recommending Assurant to friend in need.

We are moving to Novel at MidTown, Tampa Florida. It’s beautiful. The process to get renters insurance was quick and easy. The rate was competitive. We have used them when our kids were in college and we were housing them. They has always been competitive. This is our third time using them and I would choose them again! Do be scared, just do it!

Assurant has taken an already stressful situation and made it even worse. Long story short my home flooded due to a busted pipe on Feb 20 which caused my family to have to live in a hotel. Per my insurance policy I am to be reimbursed for food/hotel. I've only received two reimbursements to date...it is now March 19th. I've submitted everything I was required to submit. We are still living in a hotel and have not received ANY updates on anything! Their customer service is nonexistent—they do not respond to texts, emails, or voicemails. You are left dealing with automated systems that provide no real assistance and no guidance on what steps to take.

I am happy with Assurant's rental insurance. I have been with them for years and they work professionally. They renewal notice way in advance and access to their site is pretty much easy. Easy payment. Fair insurance cost. I like the company. I have used them for past 5 years.

In the 13 years I've been with Assurant I've had claims--for wind damage to a roof, for a claim of personal injury by a person--and I live in a fire-danger area of California, and (here's the punchline!) The process once you start is very simple. The 4 Star is based on the letter I received from the Apartment Complex and how many steps it took from just getting your name from them. I went to your website and finding where I could buy a policy for renters insurance was cumbersome. Many people would quite before finding it. There are probably plenty of innovative ways to increase you business by ensuring apartment managers provide a link or web address that takes them directly to the buy a policy page.

My claim was easy to file. I did everything online, My adjuster worked with me kept me informed all the way during this difficult time losing everything due to a fire. My adjuster was compassionate and helpful. I am satisfied that my claim was accepted and I received my checks in less than a month. I would recommend Assurant to my friends and colleagues.

I had to file a claim. They made the process simple enough and the coverage was excellent. Additional damage was discovered, and the process was handled excellently. Due to the remote location of the property, was not able to postpone the the additional repairs needed before approval. SO I took lots of pictures and submitted them as additional claim damage. I received remuneration for displacement and cleaning due to the Eaton Wildfires. Lodging, cleaning, and replacement of property due to the wildfires. Assurant was brilliant in helping me get back on my feet.

I suffered a total loss due to a wildfire. The building I lived in was totally destroyed. I was paid out in full in about one month with no issues. The Assurant personnel I spoke with on the phone were very professional and were able to explain the claims process and status of the claim to me. I would definitely recommend Assurant.

I have been in contact with them since October 3. I have had 3 separate adjustors and only ever spoken to 1. When I filed my claim I hadn't heard from anyone in a month. When they switched me to a new adjustor Elizabeth it would take over a week to get a response if not 3 weeks. I was supposed to receive a check for $3000 for hotel and food while I was unable to even enter my own apartment. She only gave me a check for 1803 because of hotel and nothing more. I was told by Elizabeth she would review my receipts and raise the balance of the check to 3000 however she sent the check to the apartment anyways and I never received it. It was mailed December 12th and it is now January 20th.

Liberty Ins partners with Assurant Ins so that we can get our car and mobile home ins as a pkg. They offer flood coverage so we don't have to go through FEMA for that as it's cheaper through you.. Saved us about $800 so we didn't need the separate FEMA policy.

This place is a nightmare. Their “staff” is HEINOUS and highly unprofessional. Their adjusters lie regarding going to a property. Using this company is a terrible idea. It should be stopped from marketing itself as an insurance company, but, rather as the racketeering enterprise it is.

They would not help me with my roof. The last claim I had was 13 years ago and it wasn’t enough money to fix anything even back then they are only worried about how they can avoid paying a claim. They’re not there to help people. This with extremely dissatisfying and disappointing experience. They take money every month for premium, but don’t take care of their people.

My upstairs neighbor started a fire in their apartment and the sprinklers went off and flooded my apartment. It was horrible. My daughter and I are displaced for a few weeks while my apartment is being repaired. My neighbor upstairs has State Farm and I have Assurant. I was given the run around just to file a claim. The link they sent me to fill out didn’t work. I can’t get into my apartment so they say when I do take pictures of my damages. Any appliance that is damaged has to go to a repair shop and I must receive a slip stating the appliance is irreparable. Doesn’t matter that they were flooded with water. It’s not free to take to repair shop so I must pay and then they’ll reimburse me afterwards. I’m staying in a hotel and they would not pay for me to stay in a hotel. I had to pay for the hotel send them the receipt and then they paid me back. I had to borrow money to pay for the hotel.
