    The person didn’t seem to know what they were doing because they didn’t even ask if the SIM card that was sent with the phone was actually in the phone and that might be causing the eSIM not to connect and make the phone work for the activation. So it kind of seem like she didn’t know how to do her job. I mean, she was nice and all, and she tried every which way from Sunday But that was the one thing that she left out was she didn’t even bother to ask us if the physical Sim card was in her phone.

    The turnaround on me getting a new phone was fast but the "new" phone I got was refurbished. Maybe that's on me to know that but google and assurant should be VERY clear about this practice. It should be in big bold letters and not some checkbox or some random sentence thrown at the bottom of some EULA. Overall good service, but the product I got did not meet expectations. I would think twice about getting an insurance plan knowing that I could just buy a refurbished phone for a similar price that I paid in insurance and deductibles.

    I'm not sure I believe this site's review rating on Assurant. It's obvious to us Assurant practices in delaying or denying any claim possible for profit reasons. Assurant lies, delays, and makes the paying clients do all the detective and investigating and chasing them around repeating everything over and over hoping the customer gives up on claim.

    I was a little surprised at the additional $40.00 charge listed as a deductible/postage charge but it wasn't excessive. The process for filing the claim was easier than I expected. But as I am not very tech savvy, the instructions for transferring my photos, contact lists and call history information from my old phone to the new was confusing at best and I ultimately lost my history. Further I had to lookup on YouTube how to transfer the SIM card. I found Spectrum support to be sorely lacking in this regard, but then that's not your company's fault.

    Sincerely, to whom it may concern. The service was top-notch! I always dread having to file any form of insurance claim that is third-party oriented. Assurant however takes the cake! The customer response is clear and without hoops! The thing I would have to note is, for lack of a better term; the simplistic interface of the actual filling. (Online/ APP)

    I was only presented with simple options as to the damage. I.e my phone had the back screen cracked as well as the bottom camera lens. Allowing for only the single issue to be brought to anttention. Essentially what I did was file a claim on The app whilst calling in to file and add to said claim. I would suggest adding sub-sections to annotate additional data. Avoiding addition and subsequent fillings. Thank you!

    No reason to state anything else other than the process worked as it was supposed to. After having the original phone for 5+ years it was necessary to replace as it was not working properly nor was it holding a charge anymore.     I am totally satisfied with the service of receiving a replacement phone through Assurant. You made it easy to file the claim and responded timely. I'm thoroughly grateful for your expedient service. However the service should also include an activation immediately upon receiving the phone. The wait of 48 hours whether it be your policy or Xfinity's is unreasonable. It's difficult to get without a phone for a day never mind four plus. The 48 hr wait is too much on top of the loss of communication for several days for most people. We have become dependent on these devices through no desire of our own that being without it for several days can be detrimental to our well being as everything we do relies on the use of a device. That device shouldn't be in limbo for two days on top of the time of loss and shipment of a new phone.

    My replacement phone was delivered the next day. Easy peasy. I just wish they would have told me that I could use my sim card from my old phone and that they would have sent a key to open sim card slot. Directions on transferring data was easy to read, although not all apps transferred. They should also tell you to do a factory reset on the phone to wipe out your info.

    I reached out to ASSURANT Thursday evening because my cell phone was pickpocketed AND stolen! There is no way that I pay a $250 deductible for a refurbished phone as well as my monthly payments that are ridiculous anyway to have my fallen out the next day instead of the day of. It was Friday at midnight when I submitted the claim, they didn’t send my phone out until Saturday And also choose not to have a delivered to me on Sunday!!! This has left me in such a rage. They didn’t care about me and getting me my phone on time so that I can resume business in a timely manner.

    As a result I lost so very much and yes, I know it’s my fault that my phone was stolen because I was pickpocket it, but my insurance company was supposed to be there for me in these times and they failed miserably. I can express my disdain for ASSURANT! I am simmering in rage because of the way I was treated! The worst part is that I have to suffer in silence because there’s nothing I can do but just take the losses. Why this may be some sort of coping mechanism, this enrages me even further!!! I wonder if I was anyone else with my phone have been overnighted!!! I truly truly dislike this place with all of my heart!! And I’m so sad that I had to do business with this place!!!

They said I could have called to have it connected but...I had no way to call. Than found out the sim card was useless. Why was it included with directions.     This place is a joke. I sent every supporting document that they asked for and they continue to change their needs. I had my service provider in-store send everything as well and yet still no resolve.     So they finally fixed the issue and I had someone personally take care of my insurance device. Took some time but they made it correct. They did say they will make changes on the way they refurbish phones and will make sure batteries will be part of the refurbishing. I’m glad they didn’t just give up on me.

    So I filed a claim for one of the lines on my account and it did come pretty fast so that was good. As I was setting up the phone I noticed the sound crackled and upon further inspection I noticed a smudge that was underneath the screen. I called back and the agent was very nice and apologized for the issue. I was sent another replacement and it was physically good no issues but not trusting them again I looked through it. Come to find out the battery was not replaced on this refurbished device and it was at 80% which Apple states once it’s 79% it means the battery is degraded and needs to be replaced. So now I call back and the agent says because the unit is good they cannot do anything.

    I explain if it was truly a refurbished device they would have had replaced it with a new battery like a certain competitor insurance company does. They said the most I can do is take it to my carrier and have them do a warranty claim to replace the phone. I will looking to alternatives to my insurance service since it does not make sense to pay a high deductible to get a refurbished device with an old battery.

    First of all I am Katherine **, the account holder & insurance payer. The only issue I had was with the woman I had to speak with on the phone during my phone setup. I could tell she was an angry ** & she was not pleasant to interact with. She had snippy/curt responses to ALL of my responses & she was not very attentive when I tried to tell her what my phone was doing. For example, I asked her if she needed the IMEI number. She ignored me & basically (for lack of a better word) ** at me to "continue through the setup" & then "give her the IMEI number."     I was provided two replacement devices because the first one was locked by the carrier and the second one is also locked by the carrier. You are unable to send me a third one until one of the first two devices is received. There should be some consideration for when a customer comes this type of situation so that they can be sent a device, but the customer service rep inform me that it was your system that would not allow another device to be sent not the customer service rep in initiating the process.

    Customer service agents denied valid claimed multiple times. Had to call back with the T-Mobile agent on the phone to advocate and finally get claim pushed through. For the amount of time spent trying to get them to honor what I had paid for over 2 years in ins premiums, they should have refunded my premiums. Agents kept repeating themselves and would not listen. Tried to gaslight me by saying they had tried to give me opportunities to give them different information - but they documented incorrectly. Seems like the business plan is based on deny over and over and hope the customer goes away.

    As to the phone replacement service it is great. As to the phone that I had replaced it is a different story. I hate to say I have Flip phone which is the second time I have used this service. For screen issues. One was my fault, one I am not sure how it happened. Being a flip phone it is not easy to find an Otter case for it. Which makes the use of this service quite common thing for a phone that it is. I will say the amount of the deductible has come down a lot from previous phones at this price range.

When returning merchandise back for replacement your office sometime claim they never get returned damage phone when it is sitting in a warehouse and not processed as returned.
