I pray for anyone who has ever been hit by an Allstate driver. I was hit by an Allstate driver approximately a month ago. Actually, my parked car was hit by an Allstate driver in my apartment complex. The passenger side of my car was completely scratched along with multiple dents. Their insurer attempted a hit and run, when my neighbor threatened him and came and got my husband and I. Today, they denied my claim. I have provided photos of my car. I have provided photos of his car. His driver side mirror is hanging off. It has black paint on it, and no glass. His rear driver's side bumper has black paint as well as his front end. This happened on private property and I was told by the police dept. no incident report would be needed if we exchanged information.
Well, the guy who hit my car denies ever being in an accident. Allstate stated that, since my neighbor cannot remember the make and model of the car that hit me A MONTH AGO, his testimony cannot be counted. I have a new Jeep Patriot, and he had a 1998 Civic Honda. Since Allstate is refusing to pay because I do not have enough "evidence" and their insurer "doesn't remember" hitting anyone, I have filed a hit and run report against their driver and I am going through my own insurance. Luckily, I found out my rates will be ok because it is a not at fault report. They are pursuing legal action against Allstate for the cost of my rental, my deductible, and the repairs. It sucks that I have to pay out of pocket at all for anyone who hit my car. But, it seems you have to do that if anyone with Allstate hits you.

Whenever there is any issue, if I contact customer care of Allstate, same answer, "Please contact your local agent." I do not know what customer agent is doing at allstate. This is the only insurance I have heard that if any issue call customer agent. I did not see any issue in other insurance. Now I am moving out of allstate.

We are with Allstate Insurance Company since 2011 at 3003 Danforth Avenue Branch. Before we joined this insurance company we met with Agency Manager Mr. ** who gave us some good advice and tips for safe driving. It was not that much of a difference of Insurance premium which we paid earlier insurance company but he impressed us to switch that time with his good customer service and friendly behaviour. We are also happy to get e-mail awareness for bad weather condition and other climate issues from Allstate time to time. For the last 6 years we are continuously getting good services from them. Mr. ** also advised us to switch our home insurance as it will also help us to get us insurance premium low. Hope sometime this year we will switch it. Recently we renewed our insurance with good insurance premium. One of their associates Ms. ** helped us for renewing it. She is also very good with customers. Cheers!

Allstate overcharged me. When I got my car policy in Dec. 2016, I was quoted one amount, paid my deposit, but after making my first payment in Jan 2017 they wanted to double my Feb. 2017 payment. So I cancelled my policy by the Feb. due date and got a policy with another insurance company. I then received a payment from Allstate for the entire month of Feb. Then in March they sent the bill to collections to mess up my credit. They are a very underhanded insurance company. Buyer beware of Allstate.

I had a recent experience with Allstate as well. Not very nice and very condescending. SO, HERE'S HOW YOU FIX THAT: You go to your own Insurance Company for the Appraisals and all the other things like a Rental Car, etc. Let your insurance co. cut you a check for what you are really worth, (which by the way) will not make your insurance go up) and they in turn will go after Allstate.
They directed me to a Place called Gerber's on State Street. And there is no such Place on State St. They are in 2 other areas of our town. I called my Insurance Co. And had them guide me through the process. They are more than Happy to help me get what I really am worth. Allstate has stunk for years now and not even allowed in Florida for failing to pay Insureds after a claim. DO NOT LET THEM TREAT YOU LIKE A CRIMINAL ANYMORE. They told me I had to use the Parts they said to use. My company said that is not true.
When the adjuster who leads my claim talked to me and asked me what happened, she talked to me like I was some kind of an idiot. I AM REALLY SHOCKED AT HOW THESE PEOPLE TREAT VICTIMS. I DID NOTHING WRONG YET THEY TREAT ME LIKE A CRIMINAL. That alone turned me right off and put me in Protect myself mode.
Also calling my lawyer on Monday. I have metal in my neck & back and I am starting to feel some pain in both areas of my body from being hit. ALLSTATE STINKS ALL THE WAY AROUND AND I WILL NEVER REFER THEM TO ANYONE I LOVE OR CARE ABOUT. Allstate can kiss my patootie because I am going to stick with GEICO and let them take care of me. You can all do the same. Let your Insurance Company pay for it all and they will go after the other Company. Happy trails folks. No more being treated badly by Allstate.

This insurance has lots of crooks instead of customer service. I had accident last week and the lady hit me. It was %100 her fault. She accept it and I had 4 witness. They called me and told me they reserve rent a car. After I got there they told me they reserve it but they are not sure if they will pay it. After 2 hour arguing with the insurance they record my statement and after 4 days following with them and sending adjuster, even the adjuster told me and body shop, "It's not your fault. It's very clear."
Another 2 days they told me, “%80 of statement we are gonna accept.” and when I asked why they told me, "We left message for witness. He didn't answer." which is wrong because he was next door coworker and he assure me and show me his phone that nobody called from insurance so after lots of stress my witness email the claim holder and told all truth but I am sure they are crooks. They will find a way to put %20 expenses on me. Stay away as much as you can.

Have been trying to get my diminish value claim settled, always refusing without any valid reason. Their explanation is they don't think there are any value loss of a car due to an accident. Hilarious quote ever! Hard to reach the claim representative. Overall terrible experience. Would definitely recommend some other insurance company.

I was rear-ended by an Allstate Insured driver. After 4 months of chiropractic and massage therapy, they offered me less than half a month's salary plus time loss as a settlement. No consideration given for totaling my vehicle, 4 months of limited use of my arms, issues with sleep, and extra hours worked to maintain my workload. I'm still working to get them to reconsider their offer. I have up to 3 years to file suit - but I'm hoping they'll see reason and offer a reasonable settlement. Trust me - you are NOT in good hands with Allstate!

Allstate has to be absolute WORST insurance company when it comes to paying for claims that their insureds are at fault for!!! This has been one of the most horrible experiences I have ever seen!! My son was hit by an Allstate insured and it was clearly her fault because she did not yield. The adjuster denied the claim when it was clearly their insured's fault! They were trying to take advantage of a 19-year old kid that didn't know any better. That alone is deplorable. Once I got involved and pointed out to them, having been in the business for 37 years, that they were at fault, they reversed the decision. This is 3 weeks in after the accident. UNBELIEVABLE!!! Then they drag their feet on reviewing the supplements provided by the auto shop.
On top of that. My son has only liability and the policy does not cover insurance for the rental car. I am out of pocket over $400 to pay for insurance when I wouldn't even be in this predicament if it wasn't for their insured hitting us. Again UNBELIEVABLE!!! Then, their insured damaged one of the tires/rim. Since that rim is no longer manufactured, they think they just paying a mere amount for the tire will suffice and we are left with finding a rim that will be completely different than the other tires. I escalated all of these concerns to managers and upper managers only to be treated extremely unprofessionally. BEWARE ALL CONSUMERS THAT ARE HIT BY SOMEONE INSURED BY ALLSTATE!! THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF! People if you are not happy with the service you receive from Allstate, go on to ** and let the state know how badly you are being treated.

On March 23rd, 2017, an Allstate insured driver did not yield and made a left turn as I was driving up from her opposite direction. As I was coming through the intersection, she suddenly speed up right in front of me and I couldn't make a complete stop within one car length of distance, so I hit on the right side of her car. My car's front bumper and hood were damaged. There were no traffic lights or stop signs at the intersection. Then we pulled over and I got her license and insurance information. When I got home, I called her insurance (Allstate) and filed the claim. They assigned my claim to an Allstate agent and she's my contact person. Then Allstate scheduled me to an estimate on the following Saturday. As of now, three and half weeks went by, I am still waiting for her response of the claim status. I made several phone calls and she kept telling me this is still in process. So I have no clue what is going on.

Don't bother with these scam artists. I had a simple at-fault accident in December 2016 (first accident in my life at 34) and ran over a massive 8x5 pothole on 1700 s in January 2017. I was told to file a Misc claim on the pothole - Allstate took the liberty of changing the claim to "Struck a fixed *object*" at-fault claim and dropped me after replacing $200 worth of broken linkage parts a full 35 days after the incident. My Agent Trent and his worthless staff refused to help me iron this out and even with their much-lauded Accident Forgiveness I was dropped. One of their reps actually had the audacity to call me and try to loop me in to another auto line for $285/mo.

In good hands with Allstate? NOT SO MUCH! This claims adjuster is a horrible person! The poor lady that hit my car was so nice and apologized. I was backing out and saw her start backing out. I came to a complete stop and she hit my car. She was so apologetic, she said she normally looks behind her before backing up but her back was hurting and she did not see me. She told my insurance company that she was at fault and she told her Allstate that she wanted the accident covered (which you would not do if you weren't at fault). Ms. ** would not have it. She would rather cause this poor lady additional stress and be rude and condescending to me. She literally was combative every time she called and when called me to say she had made her determination she literally gloated then offered me half of the damages if I would settle right then. HUGE FAIL ALLSTATE. With people like this representing you, don't count on much growth.

August 31st 2016 I was rear-ended by an Allstate insured on my way home from work. My car wasn't drivable and was towed to the towing company's yard. The sheriff arrived and created a report and I was taken to the hospital by ambulance for medical evaluation and released. I would follow up with my primary care physician and take some physical therapy for my neck pain. September 2nd 2016 I rent a car and call Allstate with the driver's information and a claim number is created. The representative we talked to said that a claims representative that would be handling my claim would be contacting me. The claims representative said that Allstate is taking full responsibility and that everything will be fine. She said that I shouldn't have to pay for the car rental out of my pocket and to get her the information and that she would set up payment directly through Allstate.
September 8th 2016 my husband meets the adjuster at the towing company's yard and a estimate was created at the sum of 9100.00 and the car is towed to the body shop of our choice. September 12th 2016 another adjuster needs to revisit the damage to my car because the body shop found further damage than what the original estimate showed. Our car was number 3 in line for the frame rack and it was the first of October before my car had repairs started. I had discussed bodily injuries with our claims representative and mentioned that we had paid for the first round of car rental and the rental company didn't receive any information from Allstate for payment. The claims representative said to save the receipts and I would get reimbursed.
October 21st I faxed in the two car rental payments and called our claims representative to make sure that she received them. She said yes but I would have thought the car would be repaired on the 5th of October. I said, "It didn't even get started on until the first of October and do you know it took more damage than originally estimated?" She said no. I then asked her if she had talked to the adjusters or the body shop to know what has gone on with my car? She said, "No but I will have my assistant make some calls and get back to you on Wednesday." I called her on a Monday morning. Wednesday came and went and no call from our claims representative who admitted knowing less about what our car had gone through than we did.
I gathered that the call Wednesday was never going to happen and I also started worrying that my husband and I were not getting reimbursed for all of our car rental which we put on our card at a sum of 3562.23 dollars. It took about a month but we finally received all but 1200.00 dollars back. I'm not sure that my husband and I were ever aware of the fine print that says car rental will be reimbursed based on how long Allstate says the body shop should take to fix the car. It doesn't matter what real time is and it also doesn't matter that my husband and I have no control over either.
I know that the claims representative did nothing to help us through this and promised things she never come through on. We are short 1200.00 dollars of car rental fees because Allstate didn't uphold their end when they said, "We take full responsibility." It seems like a scam when I have to figure out how to pay 1200.00 in car rental fees when I wasn't the reason I had to rent the car in the first place.

I had been an Allstate customer for years with NO claims. I purchased a different home and got my quote that seemed reasonable. After closing I received a bill from Allstate for almost TRIPLE what they had originally quoted. Every single renewal my rates increased again and again both home and auto even though I had never filed a claim, no traffic violations, multiple discounts, etc. I decided after consulting with my Allstate agent about increasing rates, to shop around with other companies. I was SHOCKED to find out that other companies' rates were approximately 1/3 the price I was currently paying. I switched my policies to a new company, call Allstate customer service and requested to cancel both auto and homeowners policies, emailed my agent requesting the cancellation of policies, and followed up with a phone call to my agent.
My agent explained that because my auto policy had just renewed, it would automatically cancel as of the renewal date if I didn't pay the premium. She stated that I would receive several statements in the mail requesting payment and unfortunately was unable to prevent the statements from mailing out. Sure enough, I received statements in the mail requesting I pay premiums to Allstate. Based on what my agent had told me, I didn't think anything of the statements and simply disregarded them. Now, I have been turned over to collections for unpaid premiums of the renewed policy. I immediately called my former agent, and of course now she is not so polite and states that I didn't ever sign a form to officially cancel my auto policy.
I asked when the form was provided for signature thinking maybe I had missed something in an email. She then stated they never sent me the form because I didn't request it. I reminded her that I sent an email requesting both homeowner and auto policies to be cancelled and that she had replied to that very email with a form that I immediately signed and returned via email. I was then told that form was only for the homeowners policy and I should have requested a separate form for auto policy. Seriously? I'm not really sure what kind of scam they are trying to pull at Allstate but I would NEVER recommend this insurance company to anyone.

Allstate has refused to cover my rental vehicle after a no-fault accident in which THEIR policyholder rear-ended me. I took my vehicle in to be repaired on Monday (it is now Thursday), to which the body shop estimated the vehicle repairs to be completed in about a week's time. Allstate has called every weekday since before my vehicle was even inspected, harassing me about the rental car situation.
I received a call this morning informing me that Allstate would not be covering rental expenses past the adjuster's 2-day repair estimate (however, this was stated nowhere in the paperwork), and that coverage stopped 4 days ago. The representative waited FOUR DAYS to tell me that they would no longer be providing coverage and that I was supposed to wait until the part needed for the repair was ordered and in the body shop's hands before picking up the rental car (which was also not stated in any paperwork, nor communicated to me at all).
I spoke with the body shop about this issue, to which the owner confirmed the vehicle isn't drivable, even before the part arrives, because he and his team took it apart to check for possible hidden damages. If we're unable to sort this out, I'll be out a few hundred dollars for an accident that was no fault of my own. I'm prepared to take legal action against Allstate for their unethical, sneaky, and unprofessional actions in light of this nightmarish experience. Had their policyholder been paying attention, we wouldn't be in this position in the first place.

Allstate Springfield Oregon 384 Q Street 97477. I cancelled my Allstate insurance policy (easy pay) over the phone so that it would not re bill. The lady informed me that they could not cancel my policy over the phone but would have to do it in writing. My policy was paid on time and was up to date when I canceled it. There was no more money owed at the point of my shutting down easy pay, account was paid in full. I cannot say for certain if I forgot to send in my request to cancel or if I did send it in at this point. Allstate claims they did not receive it. I had not opened their mail for 2 months because I was paid in full and had went with a different insurance company.
Three months later I opened Allstate's letter to find I owed $107.00 because they claim I did not send in cancellation in writing. Then proceeded to tell me that the $107.00 went to collections and is owed because easy pay had a (grace period) and because they could not re bill easy pay they then canceled my insurance. Number 1, I've never had to send in a written request to cancel my insurance policy, something is not right here. This company just forced $107.00 out of me to avoid collection. My advice to people is stay away from Allstate. If you do cancel make sure you do it in person. I feel this was very dishonest. If I turned off my easy pay so that it wouldn't bill me money I didn't owe, that should've been the end of this.

Allstate dropped our auto insurance without notice. I made 2 premium payments before they send a letter dated March 15th that our ins had been cancelled on Feb 6! We had been without ins for over a month and didn't know it! No email or call from our agent-nothing, even after I emailed him. Now, because of that, our rates are higher with new ins co. and some won't even insure us because it has been passed 30 days. We had their car insurance for 17 consecutive years with 2 not at fault accidents from years ago-1 over 3 yrs ago and the other over 6 years ago. We had no points on our license and our insurance rate didn't go up.
A year ago Allstate dropped our homeowner's insurance--1 claim out of 17 years and that was over 10 years ago. We were told by the agent helping us that it was because we had an older house/policy. They originally took pictures and told us they were dropping us because we had leaves on the roof and "debris" in the yard. We fixed those 2 things but they still dropped us.

After we made our decision, we followed up and sent in all the paperwork needed. Fast forward three months, still no check, no updates from the company, etc. I went online to check the claim status and found out that we were still paying full coverage on a car that was totaled months ago. I called the 800 number and kindly asked to remove the coverage on the totaled vehicle and back pay us for three months of coverage. The representative also said that our check for the car was also "in the mail today" which I found to be rather coincidental.
Two days following I get a call from my local agent that the corporate office I called cancelled my entire policy, and was currently without any insurance at all. While my local agent was professional and helpful, the entire thing was a lot of back and forth - all for something that should have been handled when we filed the claim. The corporate office was not helpful and they were difficult to get a hold of when we were first filing our claim. On top of it all I lost a lot of my discounts when this all happened. My son had an accident, at a four way stop. Police report stated the other driver failed to yield, although other driver was to the right of my son. This should have been a compensatory claim, as the other driver struck my car in the middle to back of car. Allstate refused to pay saying it was 100% the other guys fault. They gave me a claim number with the other insurance company and the name of the agent, who I called immediately and left a message. No return call, I called 4 more times. Each call I left a message. Each call was never returned.
I called the agency where I purchased the insurance to see if they could reach the claims adjuster. My agent called back and stated there was no claim as the other insurance company had closed the case because they felt it was 100% my fault. How can this be? I asked for help from Allstate's adjuster who stated as far as he was concerned the case was closed. I asked my agent to explain, they said it was up to the adjuster. The other company supposedly told my agent there would be no appeals process because this was their policy. Meanwhile my car had been towed to an auto body, my bill was now over 900 hundred dollars. I had to sell them the car for scrap metal to avoid further charges. I was left with no choice but to sue the other driver for damages so the case could be heard in court.
At the deposition Allstate did send an attorney (to protect their interests). This attorney came unprepared had never spoke with my son prior to the date and it looks quite bad for me as I'm sure we will eventually lose this case. The other party had his car repaired via his own insurance company but has counter sued for loss of value due to the car being in an accident. This Allstate will not pay so guess whose pocket it will come out of. Had one person involved had the decency to be honest when I asked questions or even had called me back to let me know what was happening here I wouldn't have brought suit. You most definitely are NOT in good hands with Allstate.

I was involved in an accident where I received a citation but the other driver was at fault and I have photos and illustrations that prove it. The judge I appeared before saw the evidence and dismissed the case. Allstate however, took the other driver's word and discredited the evidence. I had to pay $1000 deductible while the other driver is still smiling. I'll just have to say, "You're in good hands if you don't have Allstate."

On Dec. 16, 2016 an Allstate insured vehicle missed a stop sign and colliding with my Beautiful 2008 Harley Electraglide. After I went over the handlebars and over the hood of the SUV that missed the stop sign and landing on my head (no helmet law in FL) and being knocked completely out and rushed to the hospital with head, neck, back and shoulder injuries. To make a long story short we agreed to an amount of my totaled bike and for the return of special items that I purchased during the years I owned it but when the items came through the mail my seat was switched. Someone somewhere took my custom seat and switched it with an old seat and now after months of doctor's and physical therapy they called to let me know that they were not responsible for the seat and how it got missing and that they were not going to reimburse me for it either so I elected to vent here. Only $320.00 turned a good review into a bad review.

On Friday of last week we came home from our vacation and found out that our radiators and water pipes had busted. We had no heat or water and put in a claim at Allstate that same night. Allstate asked for heating bills to check if we kept the heat on in the house. We gave them the bills and quickly the Claim Service Adjuster said that it is less than last year, so oh no I somehow didn't leave the heat on!!! I then politely pointed out to him that the heating bill in December 2016 was $226.07 and November 2016 was $114.16. He then claimed that he needs to bring to his supervisor because he can't do his job.
We then had a certified plumber out and he wrote a report saying that the damage to the radiators and water pipes was caused by the failure in the heating system which was caused by the battery in the thermostat failed. We gave this report to Allstate's Claims Service Adjuster on 2/27/2017. From the beginning until now we have talked to a customer service person, a Claims Service Adjuster and his manager, and a Claim adjuster. The claim adjuster came to our house yesterday, inspected the loss and talked to us. And today they want us to talk to an investigator, who had not called us yet.
We cannot help but feel that they are performing a delaying technique to our claim since they kept introducing new people that we have to talk to. We have no new information to give at this point. I, my husband and our 3 year old son are coming down with a cold due to having no heat in the house from this incident and Allstate apparently has no regard to our well-being. I will definitely take my business elsewhere because I no longer feel having insurance with Allstate gives me any peace of mind. You are NOT in good hand!!! Their hands are only good to take your money.

Our Allstate agent is name Elizabeth in Kissimmee FL and that whole organization is a bunch of crooks. We were involved in a hit and run and the insurance company first sends us to a horrific shop that damaged our vehicle when it was there to get repaired. Then they raised our insurance premium by over $200 more. My policy became more than my car payment. We declined further coverage with them and they still took money from my bank account. Now they are saying I have to wait ten business days to get a refund for over $600. This is ridiculous and unethical. This company should go down for fraud. Do not do business with the Warren Foley Insurance agency or Allstate. They will take your money and blame you. This just downright criminal.

I am writing this in hopes that my husband and I will be treated with respect and fairness, as we have not yet received this from Allstate Insurance Company. However, I will be honest; my trust with this company is forever lost. I do not feel as though our voices will or will ever be heard fairly. My horrific experience begins on Jan 10th as my son and I were coming out from my office and noticed that another vehicle had hit my Jeep. We had to stand out in the freezing rain waiting for the police officer to arrive and while doing so I called the Allstate agent at this time. His receptionist answered and I told her what had happened and she asked me if the vehicle was drivable at this time. Given I had not even driven the vehicle, how was I to know if it was drivable therefore I said, "Yes".
However after driving the vehicle home, it started to shift to the right thus making it very unsafe to drive. As we soon found out later, the wheel bearings needed replaced due to the impact that the other vehicle had made when it hit the Jeep. I immediately called the agent back to inform that the car was very unsafe to drive and needed a claims adjuster to come to the home. I had no idea what to do at this point other than the receptionist continuing to inform for me to download an app on my phone and send pictures of the damage. The agent's receptionist continued to request that I send the photos on my iPhone so they could estimate the damage versus having an agent come out to my home, as it could take a week for this to happen.
I made an effort to get the app and send the photos, but it did not work out so that I could. Once again, I called back to communicate with the agent whom I again spoke with his receptionist in which suggest I take the vehicle to a drive in Allstate adjuster's office in which they could inspect the vehicle. I continued to tell her how unsafe the vehicle was to drive and request an adjuster to come to my home as this office was located almost an hour away from my home. She again told me it could take a week for this to happen and highly encouraged me to take the vehicle. However I told her I would take my chances on the adjuster. She told me "okay" and referred me to speak with the claims department if I had anymore questions. Basically stating, I was being a bother to her, even though I pay this office monthly to do this work for me.
On Saturday Jan 14th I received a call from the Plainfield Allstate location confirming my appointment to take the Jeep to have it inspected. Let me remind you, I told the agent's receptionist that the car was not drivable!!! I called the claims office and told the representative that the car was not drivable and she reported that it was marked drivable. Seriously!!!
Once again, I stated that we needed an adjuster to come to our home. The representative stated that the adjuster would be out between Jan 16 - Jan 20th. However, neither my husband nor I received a call between this time. When Friday arrived I had not yet received a call, I immediately called Allstate who informed that they never sent in the request for the adjuster to come to my home!!! We were once again, working harder than the insurance company. Please let me remind you about that we made no plans for this week, of course only my son's speech therapy, in order to accommodate Allstate.
The adjuster finally came to our Home on Friday Jan 27th to meet with my husband. Please let me once again remind you that it has now been 17 days since the accident. My husband and the adjuster confirmed the body shop and estimated repair cost. Later on that afternoon, I received a call from the body shop to confirm an appointment. The body shop had no idea that the car was not drivable and I was on my own to find a tow company to help get the Jeep from my home to the shop. Where was the agent?? Why did I have to do this??? I made accommodations for the Jeep to be towed Monday 30th, in which it was.
On Feb 7th, I received a call stating that my car was ready to be picked up and the rental was due back. This is from Allstate. I immediately called the body shop who informed that they emailed and talked to Allstate just a few hours ago and stated additional damages were found and it WAS NOT ready to be picked up. I called Allstate who informed that they just talked to the body shop and that it was ready. Once again, seriously!!! I called my agent who was at no help at all and acted as though it was an inconvenience. Finally the problem was solved as there was miscommunication on Allstate's end, imagine that!!!
I received another call from the body shop stating they submitted the request for more services but have not heard anything from Allstate and reports being at a standstill until able to hear back from Allstate. At this time, I am beyond upset!!! I communicate my concerns with ALLSTATE with the shop who informed the same concerns with this insurance company whom suggest that "we are in good hands!" Yeah right!!
Feb 10th I received a call at 4:30 pm stating my car was ready for pickup. However, since I have a job and was working, I did not get this message until after the shop was closed for the weekend. Once again, I did not hear from my agent about what do to at this point. What do I pay this man to do? I called the shop back to confirm pickup for Tuesday as my husband and I have jobs and cannot just take off to return a rental car. I received a call on Tuesday from Enterprise asking when the car would be returned. I immediately called Allstate whom assured me that Allstate would pay the 30 days and send in a request for any additional days!!! THIS WAS MISLEADING AND I HAVE THIS ON VOICEMAIL!!
My husband and I picked up our Jeep on Wednesday the 15th as we have jobs and children with doc's appointments. Let me remind you that this accident was an inconvenience to US!! We had to do everything on our own without the help of an agent whom we pay for goodness knows what? Why did he not personally call us to inform about the rental or that our car was done? There was no communication at all other than a voicemail stating our rental would be covered for the 30 days and by request if needed.
YES it was needed and Allstate had refused to help even though their voicemail stated they would. Also to note, both Enterprise and the body shop made comments about the ALLSTATE agent calling and accusing them of selling insurance. How unprofessional is that!! He went out of his way to call a body shop and Enterprise to act this way, but could not pick up the phone to tell us that our Jeep was done and we needed to return the rental car as they would not pay!!!
I called our agent on February 15 requesting for them to help solve this problem as I have worked harder than he has throughout the entire process. However when I did not hear back from him, I called on Friday Feb 17th in which our agent was miraculously able to speak with me as he was not in a "meeting". Please note I called him. THEY DID NOT CALL ME!!!
During this conversation, he informed that Allstate would only cover 17 days of the rental. WHAT!!! I immediately called the claims office that just informed on my voicemail that they would cover 30 days and then request more if needed. However, at that point they continue to tell me that they will send my concerns to the manager, as they were in meetings. The representative assured me that I would be contacted by the manager either Sunday or Monday.
To also note, when I questioned my agent and told him I want to speak to his manager, he gave me her contact information and number. Even though I knew she was going to take his side, I still had hope that Allstate would do the right thing and advocate for us. I WAS WRONG!!! Completely wrong! When I questioned why they told me that it would be paid and extended out if necessary, she could not give me an answer. Well let me rephrase that, you want to know her answer? Get ready. She told me that when the accident happened, I should have called the body shop!!! What??? You have to be kidding me!!! Please, please I encourage you to pull the tape and listen to her!! Please. At this point, I am beyond frustrated and all hope in this company is gone and now I need to find someone to help me, as Allstate will not. I emailed outside sources to get answers in which I will continue to do until justice is served.
Monday February 20th, I finally hear from a lady who assures me that she gathered all the facts and was asked to look over the claim. She misleads me to believe that she had the final say and her decision was to not pay the five days. Please listen to this tape as she slowly continues to give in as I tell her that the shop did not call until 4:30 pm and I didn't receive it until it was too late. She agreed to pay for the weekend and that Monday. Please listen to the tapes. I repeated to her several times and she confirmed that Allstate will cover the 3 days. She reports Allstate will take liability for the 30 days plus the additional 3 days due to their own miscommunication. I still was not happy, but told her I would pay the additional two days to make this all end. She agreed. Again, please listen to the tape.
She called me on Tuesday February 21st to tell me that Allstate will no longer pay the three days she assured me that they would. Seriously, folks this happened!!! I am not kidding. So here I am, trying to make sense of this and calling the claims department who informs that all I can do is submit a complaint or better yet when I called and talked to a representative from the executive office as her response was for me to hire a lawyer. Yep, fight against the company I pay to represent and protect me. That was her response all the way from the executive office!!
So here we are!!! Nothing solved and even more disappointed than ever before. I am sending this to the media, posting on all social media, filing a complaint with many companies whom are out there to protect us against monsters like ALLSTATE. I assure you that justice will be served and the truth will come out. One last note I would like to make is that Allstate has informed me that the other insurance company will compensate Allstate 9 rental car days. Okay so then why would Allstate not take the hit due to their miscommunication in this entire process and pay the three days I am asking? Why?? Well the answer is obviously; they are an untrustworthy company. Read the many complaints on this company!!! Again, I am beyond disappointed!

January 20th, at approximately 11:55 PM I was hit by a driver who had Allstate as their insurance. It is now exactly a month from the date of that accident, which was reported immediately, and I have yet to receive my settlement from Allstate. Even if I remove the week it took to process the police report, that still means I have been waiting on Allstate a total of 24 Calendar days for a settlement to purchase a new car. Of those 24 days, I had a rental car for 10. Allstate paid for 9 days, because they cut off that service within 2 days of presenting a settlement offer, not me ACCEPTING the offer, but just them low-balling me with the minimum value of my car.
I have a degree in English Literature and I do not believe I will find the words to sufficiently describe how completely and utterly disgusted I am with their service. Even if only 1 person sees this review and refuses to use their service because of it I will feel as though I have contributed more to the betterment of this Earth than Allstate has since their founding in 1931.
I had to speak to not one, not two, but FOUR different Allstate representatives in the last month, each successively less competent at helping me reach a settlement and wrapping up my claim. I would almost have taken less money just to make the process faster, which I'm sure is the tactic they use when paying out insurance claims. My third rep, Tony, made it sound as though he had done me a personal favor by scoring my car "average" across the board in his inspection, only for me to see on the settlement that "average" is the lowest possible designation of condition.
My good friend Tony, had given my car the lowest score on every category to undermine the value of the car and make their payout less. I understand that is his job, to keep Allstate's coffers as full as possible, but do not insult me with such a brazen lie. My car was not in the best shape but I'm pretty sure you cannot deduct "Scratches on the front bumper" when your client tore my front bumper clear off my car.
When I finally did concede and sign my egregious settlement offer on Tuesday, February 14th, I mailed it immediately that morning, and called the collision center to release my car to Allstate. I later emailed my new Representative, Sarah, to confirm that now that Allstate was in possession of my totaled vehicle and I had signed over power of attorney I would receive my settlement with 48 hours. I was convinced my ordeal was finally over and began gregariously car shopping for my new car, setting up appointments, test drives, calling dealerships, setting up an auto loan, ALL WITHOUT THE HELP OF MY RENTAL CAR WHICH WAS TURNED IN ON THE 15th. Whatever, a minor inconvenience in the digital age, but much to my surprise February 17th rolls around, and I have yet to receive my settlement.
I contact Sarah once again, to confirm I had filled out the forms correctly, and they had been received. Of course, they were received right on time. But ALLSTATE did not plan to pick up my totaled car until the 17th, and would not pay me until they had it in possession. -_____- It should be obvious, but just to state my problem clearly with this, after 3 weeks of being inconvenienced and finally giving in and accepting Allstate's offer, they took 3 more days to pick up my car. 3 more days which I had no rental vehicle to get myself to work, 3 more unnecessary days I was FORCED to bide my time and take Lyfts, and Ubers, and beg friends and family for rides.
Fine, whatever, starving children in Africa have more pressing concerns, I can handle the inconvenience for 3 days. So supposedly, Allstate retrieved my vehicle on the 17th, meaning I should have been paid out in full by the 19th, 48 hours after receiving my signed Settlement and my totaled car. Well, as any intelligent reader could infer, but I'll spell it out for any Allstate employees reading this, IT IS THE 20TH AND I HAVE NOT RECEIVED A ** CENT. In conclusion, the only reason I would EVER recommend anyone use the services of Allstate's Auto Insurance branch is that if you ever hit someone, you can sleep soundly knowing that they will spend the next month in intense frustrating agony as Allstate slowly bleeds them of both spirit and will power.
You as the guilty party will be able to rest comfortably knowing that no matter how bad your car is or how badly you were hurt, Allstate will most assuredly drag the other party through so much mud and muck that they could legally and justly file a second claim for their personal and emotional injuries sustained through the corporate accident that is Allstate. But the real kicker? They won't because that would mean going through the same agonizing and incredulously painful claims process they went through the first time.

I was in a car accident that the other driver was liable for, and he happened to be a customer of Allstate, so I filed my insurance claim with Allstate. Because my car was undrivable, they gave me a rental car while my car was being fixed. However, they wouldn't cover insurance on the rental, which they didn't tell me for a week. So the rental company ended up charging me $170 "damage waiver" for that week during which I was driving around in a rental I thought was paid for by Allstate, blissfully unaware that with each passing day, I was being billed another $24 because Allstate wouldn't cover the insurance on it. Allstate -- an INSURANCE COMPANY that was liable for the accident that rendered my car undrivable -- wouldn't cover the insurance on the rental.
Once I found out that Allstate wasn't covering the insurance on the rental, I made sure it was covered under my own insurance so that the rental company would stop billing me for the "damage waiver" at $24 a day. But in the meantime, I was out $170. An accident that someone else caused and that rendered my car undrivable shouldn't have cost me anything. But because of Allstate's nonchalance about the whole situation, I ended up being out a significant amount of money.
When I talked to the guy at Allstate who was handling my claim about the money I paid the rental company, he shrugged his shoulders, gave me some log of activity surrounding the claim, and told me it wasn't his responsibility and that Allstate definitely would not be reimbursing me for the $170. I still feel completely ripped off and no one at Allstate cared enough to do anything about it. I would never become an Allstate customer after this experience. And I certainly do NOT recommend them to anyone else.

I tried contacting every agent that was assigned to me but I had no luck. I left several messages. I left email and phone messages and got zero response. After my accident my premium went up an extra 185 dollars a month. There is no way I was going to pay that. I left and got Plymouth Rock which I pay 161 a month. I wouldn't refer anyone to Allstate. I have been a faithful customer of Allstate for approx. 17 years, went to make my new payment on my renewed policy and noticed the price more than doubled. After reviewing my policy I found allstate added my ex-wife's children to my policy without my knowledge. We have been divorced for 10 years and the children are not my children and have never lived with me. They have different last names however allstate changed their last names to mine when deciding to randomly add them to my policy. I called my (local) agent in Waycross GA Robert ** whom has been my agent for the entire 17 years but now is several hours away from me and was given the runaround for hours trying to speak with an agent so I found another insurance company. Later an agent finally decided to call me and said it's my fault that allstate probably sent me a survey asking if they lived with me and since I did not respond they were added.
How could allstate randomly pull two teenagers with whom I have not seen or spoke to in 10 years change their legal last names to mine and add them to my policy and include their personal info such as date of birth, age, driving record etc. I am sure someone allowed this and I believe it was done through the agent's office because during the hours of runaround I was given, the receptionist called asking when I added them and when I was divorced and what were their legal names. If this is a random survey why ask this info. To make matters worse after the agent called and said it was my fault I stated I wanted the renewal policy canceled. She said I had to come to the office to sign something. Her name was Amy. I informed her I was not driving several hours for that. She said she would email it and then stated something to the effect she was going to get me a credit for the time since they were added so I would not be out extra money.
Bet since I was canceling she then hung up on me. I tried calling them and my calls rang once and then straight to voicemail. I called allstate 1800 number but it transfers you to your (local) agent. Same result straight to voice mail after one ring. I blocked my number and was able to get an agent who then called another agent who stated to fax a letter to cancel my policy. As of yet I have no idea how long I have paid for unauthorized people on my policy or even if my policy has been canceled yet.

I have been a customer since 1997. Perhaps have used the service 5 times at the most. Those times assistance was sent. Usually with a significant wait which is understandable taking into consideration storms, traffic etc. Today at 12pm, a clear day, no large scale emergencies in the area I called for assistance as my car would not start and it seemed like the starter was gone. The woman that helped me was very nice and efficient. This review is not to criticize her. After giving all my vital information and verifying who I was we got down to me needing a tow to my mechanic located a few towns away. I was calling from a busy shopping center on a very well trafficked road. Many business, homes etc. I was not in a rural area. The CSR told me she would find their service providers in the area and call me back with the findings.
She did call me back in 5 or 10 minutes to tell me that all of their service providers were busy and could not tow and I should contact a tow company on my own and charge them back. I told her I have no idea who the tow companies were where my car was broken down. Then asked when the service providers could take the tow thinking it was a timing issue. She said that was not an option and she didn't know and I should contact a tow company. I was getting a little irritated at this point and told her that I had my 92 year old Aunt with me and this is Not acceptable. I pay them to find me a tow. She apologized and explained again their providers were busy and had no idea when any of them could provide service and if this was an emergency to call the police and they would provide a list of tow companies in the area. I told her that she should call the police and get the numbers and call for me. She told me they can't call the police.
Already my mind was made up I am leaving this organization. I told her I would be lodging a complaint not against her but the terrible service provided. She apologized again and said she would try again to find a tow for me. I did call the line and asked to make a complaint and after going over all of the personal information again told the story. Again the CSR was a perfect gentleman and asked me to hold on a minute and he would check. Came back and told me the other CSR was trying to obtain a tow. Told him I understood. I wanted to file a complaint with the company re terrible customer service etc. We went round and round re the situation. Finally ended the conversation with me saying thank you. Not sure for what. The original CSR did call back and had found a tow but it would be 2.5 hours.
In the meantime I contacted a station near the town where I live and got them to come the 15 miles and get me. I am not getting the service I thought I am paying for. I understand a wait, perhaps a long one but to tell a customer to find their own tow is unacceptable. And if I knew that is the way things go I would make sure to bring names, numbers in my car of service providers and call myself or call one not in the network and charge it back to Allstate. Perhaps that is how they are running their business. No providers and everyone charges the bill back. Not what I am looking for.

This has been a horrible experience and a unbelievable amount stress and anxiety. Deanna ** was assigned to claim. Deanna did not won't pay for rental. I requested to speak with someone above her. After 2 weeks Sherri ** approved the rental while my SUV was being repaired. Sherri ** also stated she would not pay for my wife Wedding Ring that lost a baguette diamond during accident a total of damage of $650.
I open a Diminishing Value Claim that was assigned to Elmer **. I send him over 3 different formulas all values between $6000 - $7000. Elmer stated "I am going appraisal your car and if I don't agree with your estimates I won't pay." I asked Elmer "are you a Texas License Appraiser." Elmer stated "I am a adjuster that what we do!" I contact TALCB. Elmer was not listed. Andrew ** contact me and stated no one is a license appraiser but we are license claim adjusters.
On Jan 5, 2017 Andrew contact me stating "a appraisal has been done by Texas Diminishing Value in the amount of $1181". I told and sent Andrew a email Texas Diminishing Value sent me 3 days before appraisal stating they would get me 3x the amount of total damage. Andrew didn't respond until 2 days later and stating he talked to the guy and he didn't mean that!
I asked Andrew "who oversees your job duties". He informed me all David **. I contact David and he stated he think this is fair $1181 and it is final!!! He stated Perry ** stated my car been in a prior loss, that why my Diminishing Value Claim has been impacted. I provided him with a clean accident history Carfax and instaVIN.com. I told him I can't accept that offer and reproduced my 3 formulas. He stated it final again.
I spoke with "Donna" of Texas Insurance Commission at 3:50 pm Jan 25, 2017 and I explained to her that I am a Allstate Insured and another insured hit my wife in the back. I told they accept fault, but claim adjuster Sherri ** is looking at my policy at wife health care bills, using them to not pay medical bills in full. "Donna" stated that is a Federal Law Violation of HIPPA. I contact Sherri via email and informed her of my awareness.
I sent her a pic of a email of me telling my insurance company do not use subrogate for reimbursement, because was my wife and I need the other party policy to cover Pain and Suffering and Personal Property and etc posted date Jan 11, 2017. Check was payout Jan 16, 2017, so my company accepted my request. Jan 23, 2017 I received a email from Sherri stating Allstate will pay $915 for bodily injury. I reply $915 my wife medical is $2550 and make counter offer.
On Jan 24, 2017 Sherri sent a email stating she value our claim at $3050 and $2000 would go to the lien because they owe the lien. How does Sherri know what my policy payout $2000? Because Sherri looked at my policy. I told Sherri you owe my Lien nothing. We pay them for protection. Everyone that have touch my claim made 1 offer. Sherri ** $500, David ** $1181. These offers were final without negotiating in Good Faith. I believe all these people work in a Houston TX branch together and due to personal relationship, they are acting in Bad Faith.
This is the conflict which is the reason started my complaint. Clearly she violation my and I privacy alone with HIPPA due to looking at my wife medical bills without our permission! Clearly there multiple Texas Code violations, even privacy.

When I contacted allstate, I had to show proof that the money was taken out of my account, and even then I have to wait until they return money back into my account, it has been since 1-27-2017, and I am still waiting for my money. I have had two checks bounce because of this, and no money left for anything, until they put it back in my account, and the worst thing about it is that it was nothing to them, but I need my money!!!

I have been reading all the bad reviews about Allstate. My husband plus I were part of the 2016 Louisiana flood and believe me - we lost our car! The day I could swim to safety, I took 2 important papers - homeowners insurance (lost the home too) plus the auto insurance. I claimed on a Saturday the loss of the car. We still had not been rescued, and by Tuesday, Allstate was calling to see how we were doing and to get the claim activated. Within 15 days or less (time just kinda goes by when you are in stress mode), we had the car towed and the claim was done and we had the monies for a new one. You can read bad reviews about every insurance company and YES, your rates are ALWAYS going to go up.
For those of you who tend to hide your heads in your butts, I would guess you are unfamiliar with the reality of life. And for those who wonder why your rates go up for other floods and etc. that happen around the country, I actually asked so I could become more informed. Here is the answer; You are part of a pool of payees, and just like ANY insurance (health, home, auto) you MUST pay the monies to keep the shareholders happy. Just remember one thing and maybe your life will feel OK. NO insurance company cares about you - it is about making money for their shareholders. If you do not like making others rich, go to your congressman and fight to have insurance (all of them) removed from our society and then maybe you all would not whine as much. Pull up your big boy and girl pants and deal with life. I have been thinking of changing, myself but you can find bad reviews about each and every insurance company.

I purchased renter's insurance on January 12th and then immediately cancelled it the same day due to my roommate purchasing it herself and regretting to inform me. The agent Mary told me that she already processed the payment in a literal 3 minute time frame and then told me she'd put a cancellation on the payment. Instead of cancelling it, she still ran the payment on January 17th.
Now, I know renter's insurance isn't a large sum of money, but as someone who lives paycheck to paycheck, I cannot afford to have anything taken out of my paychecks without me including it in that month's budget. It is now January 30th and I had to follow up again to not only be told that it didn't show up in their system at all at first, but it is now being processed and can take anywhere between 7-15 business days. I will take fault in the purchase before I had all of my ducks in a row with my roommate, but the lack of care for those of us who do not have very much wiggle room is extremely upsetting.

Their insured ran a red light and hit our truck which had a green light in the intersection. She was ticketed by the police officer, who took the traffic report. Her insurance carrier has not accepted Liability for damage to our vehicle. They claim their insured said she is not at fault, even though there were two witnesses to her running the light. They will not accept liability until they talk to both witnesses and the officer. One witness has come forward, but the claims person for Allstate has not called them back yet. And, the police officer is calling them as well. So far, they are not picking up a car rental for our totaled vehicle. According to the insurance commission they can hold us up for up to 30 days. Meanwhile, we have rented a car at our own expense. I caution you be careful of Allstate Insurance, they don't care if their client is in the wrong or not, they will do what they can to not pay a legitimate claim.

I was the victim of a hit and run accident in May 2016 on the highway. I had purchased 10,000 in medical coverage. After six months, I still have one injury from the accident. This was an injury documented within two weeks of the accident. I still had over one third of the benefits remaining. Allstate medical claims policy staff began suggesting it had been too long since the accident and suggesting the injury might not be due to the accident. They are requiring I go to an independent medical examination and in general, my relationship with MY INSURANCE COMPANY (not the company of the women who hit me) has become adversarial. I DO NOT RECOMMEND Allstate.

When you think of Allstate commercials you think of being in good hands but that's not the case. I was rear ended by one of their consumers to start this off. Not only did they try to minimize the injuries my wife and I had but they tried to make it sound like it wasn't a bad wreck without even seeing or being involved in the wreck. The two people I spoke to, (one from claims and one from rental), only knew two words, "within reason". They refused to cover a rental because they said my vehicle was drivable even though I dropped it off in the shop for repair.
Things wrong with picture... 1. Vehicle isn't drivable if the auto body shop needs to disassemble. 2. All of their shops that they recommended either couldn't handle my vehicles size or they were booked two months out. 3. If I'm injured due to your consumers negligence then don't tell me it wasn't that bad, you are not a doctor. 4. When I ask to speak to your supervisor and you tell me that you are the top guy, don't lie to me. There is always someone higher in the food chain. 5. When you continue to say within reason make sure you outline the boundaries on what that means because I don't know what that means for me without it being written in black and white and I can read it for myself. My recommendation for anyone that has to deal with a driver carrying Allstate, make sure you work your insurance to go after them and save yourself the headache.

All three times, Allstate was quick to evaluate and pay. I have never had to wait or argue about parts or prices to have the houses and car repaired. All three incidents were very costly. Every person that I dealt with was beyond nice, fair and concerned that everything was being handled in a timely manner. The service is beyond compare but the prices are getting out of control. Please read this... I was insured by Allstate, on September 30, 2016 I woke up to my vehicle gone. I called the police and Allstate. All was going well until their claims investigator Gregory ** became involved. I had given all information to the police. I was questioned by Greg as to why I had such "good" insurance on my old vehicle, it was a 2000 Dodge Caravan. As his investigation went on he decided I needed an EUO examination under oath, by their attorney which is actually an interrogation.
I sat in a room for an hour being grilled by their attorney asking the same questions over and over each time with different wording and was again asked why I had "good" insurance on my van. I was then asked why and how I purchased my 1995 sedan. As the questioning went on I was asked about oil changes and where I got them done. Usually I go where there was a sale so it was pretty much all over town and because I fail to mention Jiffy Lube according to them I was lying.
When I had given my police report I had mentioned that I thought maybe a mechanic that I had spoken to could have something to do with my vehicle. Gave all that information to the police. I was then asked by the attorney why I didn't go out and look for my vehicle or go to this gentleman's house. My response was that was the police's job not mine and because I said that according to Greg I was being deceptive. My claim was for only $2,500. I asked the attorney if I was going to get a copy of this report directly from the reporter as she was an outside party. Never received an answer for that question but I was told that I would get the document within 5 days. I received the document 8 Days Later directly from his office with of course some untruth in it, I had asked numerous times if I should have an attorney representing me and of course that was not on the report.
My claim was denied according to Greg for unable to provide truth about maintenance and because I didn't go out look for this mechanic myself which I was told by the police not to do. Allstate is the worst. They will lie so they can refuse a claim. I will follow up with the BBB. During this time I had been keeping in touch with my Allstate representative. According to her this always happens. Numerous complaints from some of her other clients as well about their claims. Horrible for even agents to respond this way. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. I was in a very minor accident in Dec. 2015. It was a scam since the man driving ran across the road and snapped pictures of me sitting in my truck and the front bumper dented. Two months later he claimed he had a herniated disc from the accident and I was at fault. I had two witnesses that both said they saw what happened. The man was driving his girlfriend's mother's car, was stopped and had no brake lights on. Allstate paid $7000 for an old Chevy Suburban and $25,000 for his injury! I couldn't believe what happened.
I investigated this guy myself and found he was living in Sect. 8 housing with his girlfriend and her mother. When I protested to the adjuster, she said "we don't want Allstate to be known as a company that doesn't pay". Are you kidding? Can you spell SCAM? I struck the right rear of his bumper at 19 mph. No direct impact and no possibility of a herniated disc. He had a Medical Discharge from the Navy and I believe that he found a way to make money by pulling this scam.
I'm not crazy about Allstate but they do have a diminishing deductible. Each year you don't have an accident they reduce your deductible by $100. They do treat you fairly well and rates are competitive but no one can beat that diminishing deductible. The girls in the office are the nicest you could possibly find although the agency is six hundred miles away from where I live. Also, they do demand that anyone over 55 must take the state of Florida Defensive Driving Course, every three years. All in all, I would recommend Allstate to some people as they may not be for everyone.

On one claim, my daughter barely bumped the car ahead of her. The man she bumped claimed his car had over $3,000 damage. Our car had zero damage, verified by Allstate after another body shop said the same and that there was no way it could have done $3,000+ damage to another car. I tried to help them launch a fraud case but they didn't seem to be interested. We've had some disagreements when two claims were being processed, but our insurance agent is the absolute best and her local old school service is why we don't go to any other company. And there is no perfect insurance company, I'm sure.
We've had our adult daughter on our policy after she had a D.U.I. on New Year's Eve more than six years ago. Many companies will not accept D.U.I. clients and Allstate has for us, and putting our adult daughter on our policy lowered the rate for our daughter who has never had any problems again. This will last for 10 years. 2. We have also put our grandson on our policy until he turned 18, when he was driving a car registered in our name. Initially the day of accident it was stormy, raining and I had the man in driver seat come into my office to exchange and discuss what happened, it was not until later that afternoon when it had stopped raining I noticed my car was pushed up against a tree breaking my back right tail light.
I called them and informed of additional damage. They said it was too late to claim it... really 2 hours later, it has been a fight ever since. The man driving was so old he should've had his license suspended years ago, he did not know he had hit me, that could've been a small child he backed up over. My parked car was rear ended by an Allstate insured almost six months ago, and the level of service I received has been deplorable. My claim has yet to be resolved and the staff has been cold, unreceptive and unhelpful in this distressing process. It has been a nightmare getting to work and ushering my two children around all this time without my car. My youngest child is autistic and is sensitive to extreme light, sound and large crowds. It has not been an easy task taking him on crowded buses and trains, and walking in the freezing temperature to the train station.
I am being offered less than half of what my car is worth and my attempts to negotiate are being met with unsympathetic and disinterested remarks. My car was very important to me. It was my first car and I feel that I was wronged when the other driver plunged into it. They are adding insult to injury by making this ridiculously low offer that could never purchase a comparable car, even if it were doubled. I am sending copies of this letter to Allstate's CEO and District Manager, my states attorney general, the federal trade commission and consumeraffairs.com for posting.
I reported the accident on 8/5/2016 as soon as I received the driver's insurance information from the police. My car wasn't inspected until 8/15/2016 though I was promised it would be in 2 to 3 days, meanwhile, the other drivers car was almost finished being repaired. In early August 2016, I received a call letting me know that my car will be removed from the tow truck company. I only agreed when I was told that I could request my car back at any time and it would be returned at no cost to me. I could not find a comparable vehicle for the claim amount that was offered, so I asked Susan to return my car and fix it instead. At least then I would have a car. She told me that I would have to pay to have it returned and I would still only get the reduced appraised value and not what it cost to fix it. It is very frustrating to work with a company that does not stand by their word.
My car was deemed a total loss and in the first valuation report, most of the vehicles used were 2004 vehicles; since my car is 2003, they then deducted an average of $1,000 due to the fact that the vehicles they chose to use were 2004. Also, most of the vehicles were from NJ and PA. It is a well-known fact that vehicles in those states are much cheaper than prices you would find in CT. I sent in my own comps which were all 2003 vehicles from CARFAX and CARGURUS.
I was told that I needed to re-submit these, to include the States that they were being sold and the phone numbers. I pointed out that these are very popular websites. This information could be easily found online. I was told by Susan that they do not have time to look up this information. I offered to email her this info separately. I was told that I had to resend everything with the requested info printed on it. I was in the process of getting these documents together when I was notified by Susan that my car was revalued and they added a measly $100 to the value. It turned out that they could not use my comps because the values were TOO HIGH. The new comps that they used were still all from NJ and PA, which do not truly represent what similar vehicles cost in CT.
They also made huge deductions for prior damages. They deducted for the left side mirror, which was replaced and functional, my front bumper which was not damaged before the accident, and the rear of my vehicle when their insured completely smashed it in. How are you going to deduct for prior damages to the rear, when because of your insured there is no rear anymore? That only leaves the two left doors which are online for $100 each. They deducted over $1300 for prior damages. They also made deductions of over $600 for existing condition, for silly things like missing wheel covers, lightly soiled seat/carpet.
I objected to the deductions and was basically told to take it or leave it. At this point no efforts are being made to assist me. When I send emails I get no response until a week later. I do not believe that this is lack of service is fair, and it makes me feel like I'm being ill-treated because I'm not Allstate's insured, and I can be discarded because my car isn't worth much, so I'm not important.
I am requesting to be paid fair value for my vehicle, based on my comps and research this would be at least $5000. I would like the deductions for prior damages to be reduced to $300. I think this is more than fair for 2 scratched doors. The deduction for existing condition should be removed; It is an unfair practice to charge me for slightly dirty carpets on a 2003 vehicle. I'm sure the comps that were used in the valuation are not squeaky clean. It is expected that these vehicles will have wear and tear.
Finally, I'm requesting to be compensated for all the months I did not have the use of my vehicle. All this time I was given a take it or leave it attitude, and genuine attempts were not made to reach a fair resolution. I got so frustrated at the lack of interest, that I asked Susan to transfer my claim to someone else, and her response was the claim will not be reassigned to anyone else for handling. I'm just asking to be treated with fairness and with respect.

My wife and I have/had several policies with Allstate. I had a commercial liability policy and a commercial auto policy for my small business through them, and my wife still has her auto policy and our homeowners policy with them. Before I get to the bad, the only good thing I can say is about my local agent. The only thing he was good at was returning calls and answering questions. Outside of that, I think his hands are tied by his price gouging parent company Allstate and there was nothing he could do to keep my business. To lay the foundation, my wife and I both have perfect driving records with no tickets, accidents or claims. In addition, I have never had any claims, accidents or tickets through my business. Both our credit ratings are very high 700's and we are extremely timely in paying all debts.
When I noticed in 2014 that my business premiums were creeping up, I called my agent, and he said all rates are going up due to the flooding from recent hurricanes. Not sure why this affects us as we live in Northeast PA, and do not even need flood insurance and has nothing to do with my business or our home and vehicles. He said there was nothing he could do but o.k. I liked him and trusted him. 2015 went up more, by 2016 my combined business policies went from $2,518 in 2014 to $4,985 for 2016. Again, no claims, tickets, etc.
Enough was enough, so I went to a new insurance agent who carries multiple lines. He did say Allstate agents hands are tied when it comes to premiums and Allstate agents cannot offer competitive pricing from other carriers. In other words, if you're an Allstate agent, that's all you can sell. Well, my new agent doesn't carry Allstate which I am glad about, and he was able to offer multiple quotes from large name companies. Long story short, by switching my commercial policies to Amguard Insurance Company I am saving $2,750 per year. When I paid my first installments, my new agent sent a letter, that I signed, to my Allstate agent and we cancelled the Allstate policies for my business.
The policies were indeed cancelled, but I received an invoice from Allstate trying to collect $419. I threw the invoice out knowing the policies were cancelled thinking it was just timing on Allstate's part. Month later, received another invoice which I disregarded. 3 months later, I get a collection letter, that Allstate has submitted their past due invoice to, stating they will affect my credit rating if I do not pay.
Being overly cautious with my credit history, I called an 800 customer service number for Allstate. They stated the $419 is due, and it is called "an early termination fee." I did not sign any renewal notifications committing to a year, and all my monthly premiums were paid up to date at time of cancellation. So I decided to try and call my local Allstate agent, who still carries my wife's car insurance and our home owner's insurance. He stated the same thing... early termination fee, fully aware that I already cancelled 2 big policies with him, and am on the verge of cancelling the other 2. I guess their hands truly are tied. We did get new quotes from my new insurance agent on our other polices, and once again they are drastically less with a $730 savings per year. Unfortunately we have to wait 3 months to cancel as we do not want "early termination fees."
My goal here is to inform all consumers to stay away from Allstate. They have extremely high premiums, agents that cannot do anything about it, and then when you do change, in my opinion use criminal tactics to squeeze even more money from you. I am not sure what my next step can/will be. Is there a consumer action we can all take, or civil complaints? You can be sure I will research this to find a resolution and try my hardest to steer as much business away from Allstate that I can. In the meantime, shop around and avoid Allstate at all costs. Because if you don't, it will cost you in more ways than you can imagine.

I recently had to deal with my child totaling her car. Their communication is good and they are respectful; however, they have an odd way of calculating the worth of your car. Most people would agree that Kelley Blue Book sets pricing on cars. Allstate uses a "third party" company to find comparable cars and uses that estimate with their own set of deductions–that are not similar to KBB–to determine what my car was worth. Totaled, they offered me approx 2500. I cannot find a car near what mine was for under 4500. How am I suppose to find something comparable?
I challenged them to show me the cars that led to that decision and I am awaiting a report that takes into account cars that are nearly 150 miles away. I am near a major city and they are not using those comparables to set my price. I should not have left USAA and I find it highly unlikely that I would have been treated the same way had I still been with that company. I strongly urge anyone considering Allstate to look past the cheaper insurance for quality and steer towards someone else.

The best way to test an insurance company is when you need to file a claim with them. Will they stand by you in the time of need to cover your claim or run? My wife recently had an accident with another driver who had Allstate auto policy. It was determined that both drivers were equally responsible. Our auto insurance company GEICO covered 50 percent for both drivers while Allstate denied our claim. This is what Allstate does - runs when they need to pay! On the other hand GEICO always treated us with respect and paid claims when they had to.
At the time of this auto accident, we were also Allstate customer for our homeowner's insurance (but not for auto). Since we could not trust Allstate from this Auto Insurance claim, we decided to "NEVER" buy any insurance from Allstate and canceled our homeowner's policy with them. Allstate is a better match for my stage of life (married, employed full-time, kids) than other companies. I have only had to file one claim with them, and the process was smooth and effortless, as far as insurance goes. I had a unique case, in that my vehicle was involved in an accident out of state, and Allstate was able to help me file the claim and get a rental car secured so I could resume my normal routine while the car was in the shop.

My home in Bothell WA was hit by a lady under the influence of alcohol who was insured with Allstate. The police notified us since it was Christmas Eve and we were out of town. I called them to inform them of the accident and was hung up on 3 times. I finally got a man Mr. ** with their express team who promised to have it all handled. Today is December 26th and I had not heard anything this morning or for two days from Allstate. The home was damaged very badly by this car, including foundation.
Today I was on the phone with Allstate getting a runaround and brushed off by 4 or more people who refused to send out anyone to secure the home from further damage etc. Told me my responsibility. I called before 8 am this morning and still had no decent response up until 5 pm. They do not care about you and just deliberately change their stories and brush you off, call back you get put on hold or told someone will call you who still refuses to do anything but make excuses. This lady is covered but yet Allstate could care less about you or your property, took up an entire day.
I sent a complaint to WA insurance commissioner but will see what they do if anything. No hope for the consumer with these big crooked insurance companies who take your premiums and buy stadiums instead of paying claims. You are never in GOOD HANDS WITH ALLSTATE and I learned this when I was 20 years old and the consumer report magazine back then had a big article on them at that time. Unfortunately I have to deal with them since their insured was the one who intoxicated ran off the road and into my home around 8 pm Christmas Eve night ruining my holiday with family and now makes it difficult to get anything done or for them to take responsibility.

I was hit and run on 2-13-2015 my first and only accident in 43 years of driving. It took over two weeks to get my claim number. Nobody called or got in contact with me the entire time. Eventually I was so upset that they waived my deductible... so I was able to pick up my car. Allstate refused to negotiate, or even talk with the mechanic. They refused to pay 30% of the bill, despite the fact that I have been a customer of theirs for 25+ years and have the maximum safe driving credits. The "claims owner" led me to believe my claim would be paid in full (minus deductible) but the claims inspector/adjuster denied it all. Worst insurance experience ever. There are two books written on their business practices and they are the number one most disliked insurance on the web. They should be put out of business or regulated and fined for the way they treat consumers. I have dealt with them on many claims for other people and it is horrible the way they lie, twist and distort the truth. Personal experience and changed from Allstate to Hannover and my new agent said Allstate had left me exposed to a lot of liability. He said it was the worst written bunch of policies he had ever seen.
Had an auto claim with Allstate, they shorted us on the value, paid the vehicle off when we ask them not to, totaled our vehicle when it was clearly repairable and shoved the sale titled vehicle up our ass, did not pay the collision center fees and we lost all our equity in the vehicle and still can't replace the vehicle and my wife has no car. We were ripped off by Allstate and lost everything we had in that vehicle and my wife lost the joy of her new edge she bought and all because she had an accident and was insured by Allstate. My vehicle was totaled by an person insured with Allstate. They accepted liability and sent an appraiser to inspect my vehicle. He noted no old or unrelated damages to the vehicle. Allstate used a computer program to tell me my car was worth $8100 rather than the book value of $10,000.00. Most upsetting was that a claims clerk named Nyla ** who is NOT licensed as an appraiser decided to take $600.00 worth of conditioning adjustments to my vehicle despite it being in "mint" condition, even the appraiser who inspected it didn't feel it warranted this. They refused to negotiate or explain why they did this, only that it is their policy to do so.
Most insulting is that they made an offer on a Tuesday afternoon, and said they would no longer pay for a rental past Saturday. Thanksgiving was Thursday and I was traveling. So in effect they gave me one business day to go look for a new car, arrange financing, and register the car. Oh, and they never paid me for my car. I met with their client to advise her I would be seeking the balance of my vehicle's value and additional rental charges through her directly. She was furious at her carrier's treatment of me, and in fact was upset with Allstate over the handling of her claim. She said nobody was keeping her updated on her claim and that phone calls went unanswered. Seeing the other complaints noted here, this seems to be their pattern and practice of claims handling. What a sad commentary.
I contacted Allstate corporate office and they told me to e-mail them directly which I did. Of course, there has been no response. This is a horrible way to do business. I had heard they were a nightmare to deal with, now I believe it. I would avoid them as much as possible. Nyla ** was the claims clerk in their CT office, and the claim # is **. We had signed up for auto-pay but due to their system error, the payment didn't register and despite their apologies, we incurred late fees. It took months of battle to correct their mistake. We're supposed to get discounts for easy pay. They took my bank info, it didn't happen. Although I'd called and was promised I was due a refund, they went ahead and withdrew the money they promised not to do overdrawing my account and incurring bank fees.
They promised to take care of it but after having me fax the proof twice (because the first one was apparently illegible) I was rudely denied. I've been paying for roadside assistance and should have been covered for up to $100, per their rep. but tonight, when I needed it for the first time, I was on the phone battling with them for over 2 hours because at first they could not verify my account, then they wanted me to pay out of pocket and POSSIBLY have the monies reimbursed, etc. I finally had enough and called an outside towing and got it done in 20 minutes. Nothing they had said or promised so far has materialized. Their agents are uncouth and dishonest.

This is about my uncomfortable experience with an Allstate adjuster. Recently, my wife was involved in a car accident with a driver whose insurance carrier was Allstate. Ms. Julie ** was the adjuster from Allstate and from the beginning, the way she treated us was so "cold" for no reason. One example is about the rental car coverage. Even though our car was a minivan, she only offered a compact class rental car. We asked for at least small SUV for safety reasons for my family, but she insisted for a compact car ($20+tax per day). After several phone talks, I just accepted to avoid any hassles. But, I was surprised when the staff of Enterprise called up another adjuster and got an approval for minivan equivalent vehicle yesterday. Enterprise said it is the law in NJ to match the car class.
And today, the Allstate adjuster called me all of sudden and asked to return the rented car by tomorrow. Because we hired an attorney, she used to not directly talk to me before. She didn't even give me a return call even when I left voice messages but only wanted to talk with my attorney. When asked why she didn't give me a call, she boldly said she didn't because I hired an attorney. Then, why she all of sudden directly called me today?
Also, okay, I understood the repair was scheduled to be completed by tomorrow and I was ready for that. However, it was like she called out of nowhere and "directed" me to return the car! I felt totally pissed off solely due to the way she treated our family. Why and how can she do this? Basically, my family is a victim of a car accident caused by a driver who is insured by Allstate. We are not enjoying this situation at all. She seemed to be interested only in the cost control but she doesn't care about our family. Sad, Allstate is losing businesses because of her!!. I am totally dissatisfied with the claim adjuster's services and determined to stay away from Allstate in my whole life.

On August 20 of this year, Allstate's insured backed out of a driveway 94 feet in front of my car when I was traveling 30MPH. My car hit her car. I had glanced to my right for 2 seconds prior to impact. When I looked forward her car was about 6 ft in front of me. Allstate denied my claim saying it was more than half my fault. 30 MPH = 44 ft per second. 2 seconds = 88 ft. plus the 6 ft that I saw before impact equals about 2.25 seconds stopping time. Allstate's insured claimed I was 110 ft away when she pulled out in front of me. That's 2.5 seconds stopping time. Even if I had not looked away for 2 seconds, 2.5 seconds is not enough stopping time when traveling at 44 ft per second.
And then there is the matter of RIGHT OF WAY. To the best of my knowledge, the person driving down a street has more of a right of way to that street than a person backing out of a driveway. I have filed a small claims against Allstate and their insured. I have court date, but it looks like Allstate has said they won't be there. The insured will be. It looks to me like Allstate has told their insured, "you're on your own." It's like she didn't have any insurance at all. It looks to me like this company is a complete RIP-OFF. I've been a driver with no accidents or tickets for 6 years. I'm only 23 and that labels me as a young driver, but it's still ridiculous the way Allstate has treated me.
They've upped my premium three times in the last six months, citing clerical reasons (that I hadn't provided the correct paperwork - which was actually my previous insurance's fault), and now they've almost doubled my premium when I renewed and took away three of my discounts - only the student discount I agree with being removed. They removed my "responsible payer discount" because when I was fighting to get my premium back down to the amount they quoted me, my agent deferred a payment and now they're counting the against me. I did this in the office in Stockertown, Pennsylvania, and explained to my representative to please make sure she removed the automatic debit to my account. When I first opened my account with Allstate in Pennsylvania this Allstate representative, told me she would contact Allstate in New Jersey and have them stop charging my insurance in New Jersey. (She never did this, and was negligent and irresponsible.) So for almost 6 months I was paying "Double" premiums. Which caused a major problem with my bank in New Jersey because I thought the whole time that account had been closed. Causing many extra bank fees and almost destroying my credit.
Recently I ask this representative to end my insurance with Allstate so I would not pay any more premiums, and told her about how she single-handedly, almost destroyed my credit due to her "Negligence". She stated that I would have no extra charges. However that day she debited $6.00 from my bank account for I guess closure fees? And weeks later I received a bill for $89.00 from Allstate. (For what I do not know.) It has not been more than 5 weeks since I switched from Allstate to Geico and this $89.00 bill has already been sent to collections.

FINALLY!!! After calling back several times, the lady asked me who Sharon was! I said that is my mother that I took off March of 2015! I ask her to read the notes and it says that I only asked to remove the car and not my mother and they have no proof that I asked to remove my mother because I was routed through the call center and they take no responsibility for their errors. Hmmm. I didn't know there was a difference between Allstate and Allstate, but there really is! Neither will take responsibility for the other!!! So I thought, okay the call center records the conversations and I'll have them pull it and fix the mistake. NOPE!!! They only keep recordings for 30 days and it's my word against theirs. Are you kidding me? I did everything I was supposed to and it cost me upwards of $1000 and they are okay with losing my business vs. fixing it.
You know there's a bigger problem when they do not trust each other or take responsibility for each other when they are in fact the same company and chose not to stand behind the Allstate name. I will move my business elsewhere and do not recommend them at all! I am not asking for anything that is not right. I did everything I was supposed to and since I cannot prove that I called and asked to remove both my mother's car and mother, I'm in the wrong. I know for a fact that I told the support center that my mom would no longer be driving. I also have a hard time believing they cannot pull the call records longer than 30 days.

I have been in accidents before where it has not been my fault. I was told to take my car to the adjuster which I did. At that time the claims department told me I could get a rental car during the time of the repairs. They were also confused as the place I took my car to did not have an appraiser and body shop together, so I had to cancel with Enterprise. At the time I got my car appraised I was given a name of a body shop they constantly used which I did not like the tone of the shop, so I took my car to another one. I dropped my car off on a Friday as this was the way it had been set-up the previous week. It took a week and half to fix it.
I had a rental car through Enterprise during this time. They had been in contact with Allstate. It took longer than expected to get my car repaired. Once I dropped off the rental car they told me that Allstate hadn't agreed to the charges yet. Enterprise called me the previous day due to having contact with Allstate asking about extending and I told them no due to my car being fixed the next day. After that time, it was about two weeks, and Enterprise called me to inform me that Allstate was refusing to pay. Enterprise took out the money in my account that was $190+$50 for deposit. I called Allstate and they informed me that they didn't know where my car was even though they paid the bill to the repair shop and I never received a phone call. They are now trying to say that the repair shop should have to pay for the rental car due to taking longer. If I was an Allstate customer I would switch. I am disgusted with how I have been treated through this process.

Eric Bohman Agency, Allstate Agent, 4938 Monroe Rd, Charlotte, NC 28205. Very poor customer service. Had Allstate policy for 2 years and never heard from them, until auto policy was going to be cancelled. Then, the agency refuses to cancel my insurance, instead request I pay for a full month that I am not using the insurance, then get reimbursed. They are even going as far as threatening to report that I was uninsured for the 7 days I am requesting to pay for the policy. My policy was paid in full up to Sept 30. I am asking to pay thru 10/07 which is the date I am requesting to be cancelled. This agency wants payment in full of $197 and then they will reimburse me to for the over-payment. I still have a home policy that is paid in full with this agency and still they are playing hardball. This broker seems to think only about his commission and not the customer's request to be treated as any other insurance company would.
They continue to state that this is Allstate policy which I have received information from them that they can in fact issue a pro-rated bill and would not report me as uninsured, when I am requesting to pay for the days I was insured by Allstate. DO NOT BUY INSURANCE FROM THIS AGENCY, AS THEY ARE NOT CUSTOMER SERVICE FRIENDLY AND SHADY WITH THEIR ACCOUNTING PRACTICES.

Yes, recently a woman hit my bumper of my car. I called her insurance, Allstate, and they said to talk to their adjuster. Well, I went to see him. 3 times I was there, he kept telling me to just keep the cash. I thought this was odd. Well, odd, until I got my estimate. It was like 300.00 he said to fix it. I know from experience, you can't fix a scratch for 300.00. So I took to several other places. Sure enough their estimates were ALL, almost double, or more. So I see now why he wanted me to keep the check and not get fixed. It was a low ball estimate. I tried contacting them, to let's work out a midpoint, and I would agree to that. But was told she couldn't do that. So now, trying to find out how to go to next level, whether small claims, or other route.

My daughter was involved in a wreck with one of their policy holders, who was at fault, almost 20 months ago. This wreck caused over $11,000 in damage to her 3 month old car and caused her minor injuries. She had to go to court to get them to pay for her injuries, time missed from work, and rental car money she had to pay out of pocket because it took them a week to accept liability, which they later took back even though they did pay to fix her car.
The judge make a judgment of a little over $10,500 for personal injury. This has been 2 months ago since the order from the judge and they still have not paid. Her lawyer had to send them a post judgment interrogatories, which gave them yet another 30 days to pay up. I am glad they give their customers cash for good driving and give money for scholarships to colleges but they need to pay for what their customers cause, that's what they are in business for. Apparently they are not there to protect their customers' interest.

They said when they try heat and push out the damaged side of bumper it distorted it more and was why they had to add the Flex Additive to it. Mind you my bumper didn't have any of that. All was original. I am not happy about this with Allstate when The Body Shop was trying to get them to put a new bumper on it and refused cause there is a small dent on the passenger rear bumper. I have been with Allstate since I was 16. I am now 20. Last week, I noticed that when I went to pay by auto insurance bill that it went up from $140.00 a month to $197.00. For six months it went up $230.00, for no reason. I have a clean driving record. I asked what was going on and they said "We are going up on all of our customers." They tried to put me with a different policy, but since I am not married and haven't had my license for 9 YEARS I couldn't do it. So, I called my mom and her policy just renewed and hers went down. This is ridiculous. So I called around and found that State Farm offered me the SAME plan for $100.00 cheaper. Nationwide was $97.00 cheaper, with the SAME plan. I should've shopped around to begin with. Who knows how much money I have lost all these years!

I would like to begin by saying that the Customer Service representative in the Sands Glendale Dealership for Allstate was very helpful, nice and patient. He gave me an okay quote for a 21 year old $355.00 for two vehicles full coverage. Cool. I did some shopping and State Farm beat them. State Farm gave me DOUBLE the coverage and dropped my coverage from $355.00 to $299.85! Amazing. I had signed up for auto payment with the insurance company, every 9th of the month the monies would be pulled from my account. I called Allstate to see what the process would be to cancel and get a full refund with no BS (life sucks and that's never the case) and unexplained fees. Cool! They advised me that I JUST needed to call the day of the payment due date or before. I called on the 9th of September of 2016, canceled service and moved on with my life.
Then (lo and behold) I was charged $299.85 for State Farm (good...) and $355.00 from Allstate after I has cancelled auto-draft payments and my account. I am a 21 year old ASU undergrad and that was literally my survival money. I had $6.49 in my account. I didn't even have money for gas. Okay! Well, I called and called and you all know how the story goes. "Hello, can I help you?" TRANSFER. "Hello, can I help you?" TRANSFER TRANSFER TRANSFER. Turns out I was with the wrong department. They told me It would take 5-10 days for my refund. LOL. They ended up giving me $283.00 back and not the full $355.00. I was ripped $70.00! REASONS? I received a $50.00 bonus for "good driving". Since I canceled the contract they took it back. Talk about reading between the lines. The other 20 bucks was for 'blah blah blah reasons'. Reasons any business would pay a guy to be on the phone for two hours with you to explain.
Instead of going through the agitating process and waste of time I simply asked the representative, "Am I going to get the rest of the money back?" He stated, "No." I told him, "Okay I will hang up now. Thank you for your time and service." In the end, I was not given what I was promised. Sure take my money, but only give some of it back. YES, it was only $70.00 bucks but that money is really useful for me. I'm a broke college student being screwed by the auto insurance companies. State Farm gave me double the coverage, health coverage FREE for any injury, they gave me AAA coverage road side assistance, AND reduced my cost. Let me be clear, please do not sign up for these auto-draft systems and if you do CANCEL IN ADVANCE. Allstate will never be part of my life ever again, and I will not suggest it to anyone ever in one trillion years.

I almost had a coronary. I called my Allstate agent, and was told he had "NO IDEA" what the charge was and he would get back to me. 10 minutes later, he called and said, "OH, that is your prepayment for your annual auto policy for this coming year." WHAT??? WTF?? Yes we have 7 cars but seriously? He says, yes "you got a notice of increase and your policy was raised 25% this year." Well, since the year before was $8500 that math did not add up. We canceled our policy IMMEDIATELY. He made NO apologies and then he had the nerve to say how he had jumped thru "hoops to help" us.
To make matters worse, it will now take 7-10 days to get our money back. $28,780. Money we need NOW to pay bills. BEWARE OF CROOKS AND LIES FROM ALLSTATE! I am still so upset, and NO ONE at Allstate has helped us. When you call to file a complaint against the agent, there is a message at their corporate office that they are unavailable! I have been an Allstate customer over 25 years. I am seeing statements like these at the beginning of many of these complaints and warnings. Hmm, it appears that Allstate would rather get new business, allowing them to charge higher rates than maintain their existing customer base. We found out that 2 out of 4 of our proof of insurance cards for our vehicles had the wrong VIN numbers - one being a completely different number. We had to go to court and get our son's license reinstated because they had the wrong number on the card and we didn't notice it until it was too late. It took weeks and several attempts by our insurance agent to straighten it out.
To add insult to injury, they are back charging us for the last year (of which we only have proof of the corrected VIN for 6 months), because the VIN it should have been is somehow more expensive to insure. I find that very interesting, considering the vehicle has always been a 2001 Grand Am and we only have liability insurance. I have been trying to get an explanation for this for 2 weeks with no results. If you have been with Allstate for many years, start shopping now, before they screw you too!

I called my agent Larry ** in Coppell, TX and asked how Allstate can justify being DOUBLE his competitors. He said all car insurance was going up. REALLY! That's it, I dumped Allstate that day, I went with AAA. Because the agent told me about another insurance company (Hagerty) for my old 1964 truck. That alone saved me $1000.00 a year. My Allstate agent would never do that.
Long story short, on a 3 car policy I saved $1,900.00 dollars every 6 months or $3,800.00 dollars a year. My daughter saved $1,200.00 a year by switching to GEICO. That's a lot of money in my pocket that I was giving to Allstate. Loyalty means NOTHING to Allstate. I also canceled my homeowners insurance because I was way underinsured with Allstate. That's after several calls to customer service getting scripted response, being placed on long holds and being hassled by the manager to take a deal to keep the service, which I declined. Don't bother with this outsourced customer service! This week I received a letter stating I used 3/4 service calls and I only used 1, battery jump call, my first call.
If I hadn't canceled this service they would have charged me for 2 tow claims, although the 2 tow companies never showed up. That means the 2 tow companies supposedly dispatched got paid although they didn't provide the service. Leads me to believe the 2 tow companies are included in the fraud. Do as I did, get AAA membership for the same annual price. On the same day I got a membership w/ them. The impact caused me to sustain severe injury to my Spine C-6-T-1 and L-1-L-5, I had no issues with my back prior to the accident.
My lawyers sent Allstate on 4 separate occasions all of my medical records, MRI's etc. They kept on telling my lawyers they never received the information yet we have them signing for them each time. This now 15 months later we asked for policy limits and they have not even come back with a drop dead letter, my back surgery will be in the $120,000 for the first surgery and I will need one more which will be $125,000. Allstate finally had their lawyer do my deposition (19 months later) and sent me to an IME (independent medical exam). I purchased the Allstate platinum maintenance plan for my 2015 Dodge truck. After a little over a year of owning the truck I have began to experience tire problems, multiple blowouts on the same trip twice now. The tire shop said they would not repair the tires because they were too worn. Allstate insurance claims adjuster (who is supposed to be third party BS) comes out, takes pics of the 2 damage tires and the other low tread tire. Waits a day to deny the claim for new tires and says the old ones can be repaired and also said the other low tread tire was at 4/32" which by contract can't be replaced till 2/32". I found it ridiculous that we were talking about such minimal difference for justifying replacement.
Anyway after 2 days of having my truck in the shop over tires and multiple phone calls to an Allstate manager I finally got them to approve the 2 tire replacement. I pick up the truck with a tread tire checker in hand and lo and behold nowhere on the tire can I get a measurement of 4/32. The absolute tallest tread on the tire is 2/32 which is in the red. So I call back to Allstate to find out why the adjuster lied about the tread depth and the person on the phone tells me the claim for that tire was denied due to being below the 2/32 tread mark which is stated in the contract that they don't have to replace due to user error. Mind you I was just in this same shop 3 weeks ago trying to get all the tires changed out from the first double blowout incident and was only approved for 1 due to the others not being low enough. Basically we're going around and around 2/32 tread wear and $500 worth of tires and approximately 4-5 days in the shop over tires.
I will never purchase Allstate insurance for my vehicles or business and nor would I recommend or purchase their maintenance plans. I'm beyond frustrated with this company and wish like hell I had never purchased the $2,500.00 platinum maintenance plan with them, I can't even get $500 worth of coverage over a year after the purchase. It would have been so much easier and more effective to be able to just take the truck into the local tire shop and bust out the $500-600 needed to replace all 4 and not had the risk of driving these unsafe tires down the highway where I've had 4 blowouts in the past 3 months. I consider this plan money well wasted!!

When I enrolled in Allstate Insurance in Tarpon Springs Florida I was quoted 89.00 Dollars a month so I continued. They said I was at fault so I faxed them the dismissal. No excuses, but we had been traveling, Neither Allstate nor its agent, Mr. **, had the professionalism nor courtesy to inform us of any increases either in writing or by phone. DO NOT EVER PURCHASE ALLSTATE INSURANCE. AND IF YOU SHOULD EVER GET HIT BY ONE OF THEIR INSURED, DO NOT LET THEM TAPE YOUR INTERVIEW. On April 16, 2016 we were traveling along the Coast in Oregon on a two lane highway. We were pulling our boat traveling at 55mph. When we slowed to make a left hand turn into the boat ramp, we were hit in the rear right hand side of our boat. The other driver said that they had been following us for some time and decided to pass and when they were passing we turned left in front of them. This is not the way it happened. The Allstate driver came around the corner and we were already in the turn when they plowed into the back of us, and the photos we took support this scenario.
Allstate says that it is 100% our fault and listed a some ORS that do not pertain to this situation as the reason why we are at fault. The other driver sustained damage to the left side of his car, our boat the right side, which makes the other driver's story impossible. In talking to one of Allstate's employees I was told that Allstate automatically always disputes all claims. State laws states that insurance companies need to complete a thorough investigation into the accident, which they did not. I have been fighting Allstate for months now, and I do not think that I will ever get them to pay up, but I will continue my fight even if I have to take them to Small Claims court for partial recovery. (PS) Our insurance company did a complete investigation and determined that we are 100% not at fault which leave us in insurance limbo.

Our SUV was hit in an accident caused by an Allstate insured driver - took a week to get an appraiser out who gave us a check for the body shop and gave us a rental car - WOW - thought we were going to be okay... Another week passes and we are told Allstate is totaling our SUV and now the horror begins... had to give the salvage company my title - unsigned; power of attorney to Allstate to do as they wish with my title and SUV; and a mileage certification WITHOUT ANYTHING IN RETURN FROM ALLSTATE.
So, here we are with no SUV or title and we are waiting for Allstate to cut us a check for what they think our SUV is worth... oh, I forwarded an email with pdfs of the signed documents to Allstate to show them the docs were completed and turned in to the salvage company. I then called Allstate to confirm they received the documents and was told the documents I submitted could not be used because they did not come from the salvage company. Allstate had initially promised to send the check so we would have it within 24 hours and was now told the check would not be cut or mailed until Allstate received confirmation from the salvage company AND that even if they mailed the check on a Friday we would not receive it until Monday!
Allstate appears to have a different 24 hours than the rest of the world. Oh, and if we want to keep the rental car until the check arrives - WE HAVE TO PAY FOR IT! So, so we have no vehicle, we have no title and no money... If we tried to conduct business in such a manner, we would be put in jail for fraud... how is it big business can get away with taking your vehicle and the title and giving you NOTHING in return until they decide when and if they will pay you and even if they do pay you, they decide how much. Criminal enterprise under the guise of a reputable business... I think not. SHAME ON YOU ALLSTATE - YOU DO NOT HAVE GOOD HANDS!

Not only did it take him a week to respond he was absolutely no freaking help at all. All I was trying to do was make the payment. Then when I finally got a hold of him he told me if I paid a certain amount he would reinstate me. I paid what he said to pay and I have not heard back from him!
I took it to the corporate office. The guy there didn't even help me either. They denied my reinstatement after my agent continually said I was going to be reinstated. Where do I start. Water claim was made and from the start Allstate made sure to look after themselves. Going on "good faith" with Allstate we went with one of their recommended remediation companies (ServiceMaster) for the clean up since a large water claim had never been made before and therefore weren't familiar with such companies. By all appearances, it seemed to be going well as far as we knew. However, when ServiceMaster employees would should up they merely checked fans and nothing more. Water damage affected two carpeted bedrooms and they did not remove carpet or lift wood furniture off the floor. Should have known at that point all Allstate was interested in was keeping down their costs by having their contractor doing as little as deemed necessary.
It took our plumber who was installing new pipe to point out that the job done was sub-par and the water remained and now the furniture had mold in addition to the extensive mold created in walls as they didn't clean up the water. It took a second and fabulous clean up crew to point out on the Allstate-ServiceMaster invoice that Allstate instructed SM to limit the clean up. Now whether Allstate adjuster poorly assessed wouldn't know as he never showed up after the first day to look over the work. Allstate continued to not fully compensate for the fair amount of the clean up (i.e. damaged furniture) and neglected to even admit any responsibility for the contractor or their own ineptness.
A second recommended Allstate contractor was reluctantly used when two months later a second property claim had to be filed when a storage pod which held belongings (that had to be pulled to sit outside as water damage was repaired) was then broken into. The subpar company Ratpak who was unprofessional to begin with by being late, sending a driver who backed the pod up incorrectly and then left, belligerent office personnel, and provided an ill-secure pod with just a bit of metal to which held the simple lock was cut to break in and still several boxes worth of personal items two days before move in.
Will never recommend Allstate and forward any existing customers to be wary of using their recommended companies as they are only looking after Allstate. Allstate took a no fault position. There is yet more to this story (i.e., unresponsive personnel/adjuster, claims being closed in advance of full mutual settlement) but let's just say buyer beware!

I have been a satisfied customer with Allstate until now, and I must state this is very disappointing. I obtained renters and auto insurance with 2 vehicles on the policy. Both cars are in my name only, however; I allowed a boyfriend whom now is my ex-boyfriend to use one of my vehicles to get to work a few times. This made me nervous. Therefore, I stopped him from driving the vehicle and actually parked the vehicle, because he was unable to be insured with most insurance companies. He does not live with me. He was able to contact Allstate behind my back and have himself added to my policy without my authorization.
No email or phone calls from Allstate at all. He had insurance cards mailed to him to my address, added his email for proof per all state, took the cards out of my mail box before I knew anything about it. I still have my original insurance card without anyone on it but me. My car was in the shop and he was able to go to the dealer shop, act as the owner with the insurance card and get a loaner without me knowing... Apparently, had an accident in the loaner, Allstate called me about the accident, that I had no idea he even had a loaner or were on my policy questioning me about an accident claim?
The dealer never contacted me about any of this either. He was also provided a second loaner car from the dealer and had an accident in that as well. I contacted Allstate after receiving a pay notice to pay for my 2 cars and to have him and the car removed from policy because car was being sold. Allstate then informed I no longer had my BMW on the policy and there was another vehicle added under my name (policy). This was all done without my knowledge or authorization. 'I was totally elated.' Allstate allowed an ex- boyfriend to make primary decisions on my policy without ever notifying me or receiving my authorization.
Allstate stated to me they assume they had spoken to him a few times, and he informed them he was my fiance, 'they assumed that meant marriage to Allstate I guess?" This does not authorize him to be placed on my policy or to make primary changes to a policy he was not suppose to be on. How could Allstate allow anyone to make changes to a policy, be added on without the primary authorizing those changes on the policy? He was also able to add another unknown vehicle to my policy without me knowing it. I never received a notice of a new vehicle added and my BMW was taken off without me knowing it.
This was all shocking news to me. Therefore, I had all phone calls pulled from Allstate and they confirmed that I never authorized any transactions for him to be placed on policy or to make changes. They also stated he paid for the premium. I questioned what was the method of payment? Allstate only accepts the primary's payments. All payment was from me (The Primary). Still, I received nothing in the mail stating any changes to policy. They apologized and stated they assumed this would be fine with me, without notifying me of any changes on my policy. This is pure fraud, agony and downright anguish to have to deal with such incompetent people with such a prestigious and prominent company.
I am ashamed of Allstate, in the way they have conducted themselves, and have treated me as if I was not a customer and never existed on the policy. I was wondering if they could add me onto Donald Trump's Policy without him knowing and allow me to make changes as I please. This is totally unfair of Allstate and this need to be investigated fully.

My premium went up about $400 per year for the gold level protection from a single accident.
It took me years to figure out how it works so I am disclosing what I went through here to inform all other customers. I enjoyed a crystal clear driving record all along but my son had a fender-bender two years ago, according to the police report he was at fault 30% and the payoff was around $800. Nelson, never said anything even though I called their office and spoke to random people many times. Unfortunately, my son had a major accident last September of 2015 and very next week Nelson requested that I should upgrade my protection to their platinum level to cover multiple accidents and violations, so I did. I was shocked when I saw my renewal bill few weeks ago, it went up about $500, and they charge me for the big accident.
Allstate accident waiver count every minor accident against you regardless if it is your fault or not. This is the secret and it is a total rip off. I paid about $2400.00 extra to cover me from a single accident but they never disclosed their dirty little secret. In other words, Allstate telling me I had two chargeable accidents but according to DMV records I had only one. This is a scam so be aware of this game. They would need my authorization each month for payment to ensure everyone made their deposits. I had a few questions so I tried contacting my agent multiple times on the phone. It seemed as if he was trying to avoid me. I was directed to several different people, all of whom told me I was supposed to be paying varying amounts for the policy. It seemed as if no one really had any idea about what was going on. I finally ended up going to his office. He acted like he didn't want to talk to me, wouldn't look at me and acted like he was above dealing with me. Totally opposite of when he was trying to sign me up.
A few months later, I opened a second bank account and instructed them to use this account for future payments. Last month, without authorization, Allstate tried to debit the first account 4 times for payment, causing overdraft fees of $162. Then they debited the correct account for payment, again without authorization. The problem is, they took $1,500 instead of the $420, again, causing more overdraft fees. And, after all of this, they went back to the first account and took $34 more, again without authorization. To add insult to injury, I needed a tow and they told me there was no towing service on this policy. We made sure when setting up the policy to have towing included. We have 4 cars between us and it is inevitable that one of us would need a tow at some point. As I was traveling up I75 I ended up being in sit still traffic, I checked my GPS and found that I could take a route to my GF's house by getting off of I75 and traveling the back roads. I exited the interstate at the K-State College exit because it was only 7 miles from my destination. Being that I was not familiar with the area I was trying to semi watch my GPS to know where I should turn.
After passing the college I was pulled over by Cobb County police. I asked why and the officer stated that I had crossed over the line a little and wanted to know if I had been drinking. I stated that I do not even drink, he said "ok can I have your insurance and title". He came back to my car and stated I was not insured. I immediately contacted Allstate to find out my policy was cancelled. I had recently changed over to e-billing and payment recurring due to Allstate suggesting it to me. Allstate stated that my credit card declined payment 2 times causing cancellation. After all these years Allstate didn't bother trying to call me with the 60 days of no payment.

I filed a claim after a storm in my area two weeks ago. The clear coat was peeled off my truck. Prior to the adjuster coming out, I received an email for rental approval. Then I called and asked a representative about just canceling my claim, he convinced me to allow the adjuster to come out and make a decision. I did and I still had authorization for a rental. The adjuster came out and he denied it was a claim. I went to get a rental because my truck was in the shop and it was still in the system for approval. I got a rental because I needed transportation. On today, five days after getting a rental, I received a VM stating that they would not be paying for my rental due to the claim being denied. I never received any confirmation for a rental denial. So, I am left with paying for the full rental. I am a dissatisfied customer in the process of contacting another insurance company who can keep their word. GOOD BYE ALLSTATE. I was not in GOOD HANDS!

I would never do business with Allstate. I have had one 2-month interaction with this POS company and I hope I never have to deal with them again. In early April I get hit by one of their policy holders; he backed his truck into my driver's side door. My door doesn't open from the outside; I have to leave my window down or reach across the passenger seat to open my door. I contact Allstate and file a claim. So far so good. They tell me to use their QuickFoto Claim app. I download it and take all the pictures and submit it. It takes an hour for it to file the claim. It just sat in the app loading and loading and loading...
Finally it uploads, they make an estimate and issue a check. The day I get the check I get a call that Allstate is trying to decide fault in the accident. I hang onto the check and don't deposit it because it's valid for a year and I don't want the money hanging around in my account until everything is settled and I'm ready to fix my car. I take my car into a shop and get an estimate from them. It's about double the estimate from the QuickFoto Claim. Whatever, just have the shop send in their estimate.
Two weeks later I haven't heard anything and the shop is saying they haven't heard anything either. I call (can't ever actually speak to the ONE person assigned to be my adjuster) and speak to whoever will take my call. Find out they haven't made contact with the witness to the accident yet and they never received the shop's estimate. So I email in the estimate myself and talk to the witness to find out why she wasn't calling Allstate back. Turns out they weren't leaving voicemails! So they weren't REALLY trying to contact her, because who calls back a random number with no voicemail?!? Whatever, they know she'll back me up and they don't want to pay. I call and tell them to leave an actual voicemail so she can call back.
Fast forward, it's TWO MONTHS after my driver side door gets hit by an Allstate policy holder and my driver side door is still broken. They decide that since they "couldn't get in touch with the witness" that I was probably partially at fault. At this point I just want my ** door fixed so I agree to pay 10%. Some other employee calls and tells me he's trying to send payment and assumes my car is already fixed so he's sending payment to the shop. I'm fine with this. I don't care where the check goes just so long as I get my door fixed.
Today rolls around and I call the shop and tell them to order the parts and paint. I try to call the guy who was trying to send payment but he's out until the 20th so I leave a message with the adjuster telling him to just send it. I deposit the check that was sent originally because the second check is just for the difference between the estimates. Tonight I get off work and have two missed voicemails. The first is the adjuster saying my check was sent. Great! This ** show is over! BUT WAIT! There's another voicemail! It's the adjuster calling to give me the good news that he is going to simplify my life and cancel the first check because it hadn't been deposited yet and issue one check for the total amount! AWESOME! So now I get to pay 10% of the total, even though I wasn't at fault AND I get to pay a bank fee when the check bounces!
The amount of ** customer service, lack of updates, lack of any real attempt to contact the witness I provided, and finally the ** move of canceling the check I had just deposited made for one of the worst interactions I have ever had with a company. I will never have an Allstate insurance policy. There are not enough words to describe how much I hate this company.

Do NOT buy Allstate Insurance! They do not pay the bills of their victims; thereby requiring you to sue the individual (you, if you buy their insurance). I'm blessed with USAA; but was hit by an taxi with Allstate. I was told that the physical therapy recommended by my medical doctor would not be paid because the adjuster did not think my truck had enough damage to constitute any physical therapy. The claim adjuster was extremely rude. Why would you want this company to represent you when someone is hurt. You will be personally sued. If my insurance treated people this way, I would drop them.
I know the business, so I understand the adjuster's job, but the rude and almost accusatory!! It only made me lawyer-up, which is overkill for this accident. I am thankful that USAA does not treat people this way. My daughter hit a lawyer a few years ago and he said we had the best insurance ever. USAA treated him well and continues to service us well. I have a life insurance policy with Allstate and I plan to cancel it. I would hate to think that they won't pay my beneficiaries upon my death.

My experience with Allstate has been terrible. I would not recommend this agency to anyone looking for a cheaper rate, or to be "in good hands", because this is not the case. Yes, Allstate offers many different services, and you may find yourself intrigued by this. But when it comes to the most important aspect of an insurance company (the claim/legal representation team), Allstate is lacking.
Now ask yourself, what good is an insurance company if they are incapable of proving your innocence? What good is an insurance company that allows months to pass by, without a single phone call, e-mail, or update regarding your claim? And when you finally find yourself growing frustrated with the lack of communication/care for you, you receive a letter stating that Allstate passed the case on to an arbitration panel, and the case was lost. Shouldn't the customer have been informed of ANY activity regarding THEIR claim? I would most certainly hope so, after all you are a client of an establishment that prides themselves on being "the good hands people". It's quite comical.
Here's the story: I was involved in a minor auto "accident" earlier this year. I was driving on a two lane highway (in the right lane) when another vehicle (traveling in the left lane) trying to merge onto an exit ramp, jerked the steering wheel to the left and crashed into my driver side rear. I was understandably upset by this, but that's why I pay for insurance, to be protected from situations such as this. It was clearly the fault of the other driver. I spoke with Allstate, sent over all paperwork/police report/pictures, and put my faith in them to prove my innocence.
About one month passes by, and I come to find out that the other party fabricated a story about imaginary potholes on the road. Knowing this was 100% bogus, I re-visited the scene of the accident, sent additional pictures of the roadway to Allstate to prove that the other party's claim was false. They thanked me for my efforts and assured me that this would be beneficial to proving my innocence.
A few more months went by, with not so much as a single call from the company to update me on this claim. I assumed everything was being handled as it should and that no news was good news, which unfortunately, was not the case. About one week ago I received a letter from the company stating that the case was sent to arbitration, and was lost, with NO possibility of dispute.
As a result, I now lose my deductible, my accident forgiveness, in addition to having an accident listed on my record as 50% fault, which will linger there for years. I received NO JUSTICE in regards to this claim. I am infuriated by this, and honestly feel that I could have represented myself MUCH better than Allstate did. Allstate may be willing to cut their losses, but I am not.
I am currently looking into other insurance companies, in particular GEICO, a company which has a much better legal team capable of proving guilty person's innocent. If your driving record is as important to you as it is to me, then you would think twice before speaking with Allstate (which you can only do during set business hours M-F). If you would like to speak with an agent 24/7 or an agent that actually shows some care for you, then Allstate is not the insurer for you. I hope this review can help deter people from experiencing what I just did.

Two years ago (2014) there were major hail storms in TX. Two Allstate adjusters claimed there was only damage done to the front half of the roof of my home which is on a corner lot, and not the back half where my car was parked in the driveway. Curious though, that Allstate paid $5200 in damages to my car which was parked in the same said driveway. Also curious is the fact that my two back alley neighbors and immediate right side neighbors who also had Allstate, sustained so much damage that they had not only a WHOLE roof replaced, but also windows, gutters, garage doors, and fences.
It's amazing that they, who are surrounded by other blocking homes, warranted such coverage, but we, who are in the direct path of the storms, had such little damage - according to them. We again had severe hail storms this year (2016) and what do you know, Allstate once again is re-replacing roofs on the surrounding homes, but ours only had $272 (that's right, two HUNDRED seventy-two dollars) worth of damage. Did I mention that I have been an Allstate customer for 28 YEARS? No, well, no longer. Another company will be get my loyal business as of tomorrow.

Allstate was recommended to me by a friend. They gave me a good quote, so I used them for both my homeowner's insurance and my auto insurance. I got the policies in November 2013. In October of 2014 I had a break-in at my residence. It was extremely frustrating, but I thought I had good insurance so I wasn't too stressed at first. I contacted the police first and logged a report and then I contacted Allstate. My front door was badly damaged, so I couldn't secure it properly. I explained this to the representative. She took all of my information and said someone would get back to me in a couple of days. I hung up the phone and then I realized they didn't even offer to send someone to secure my door. I called back again and they seemed surprised that I wanted them to send someone immediately.
I finally got someone out about 4 hours later to board up my front door. At that moment I was told that my door was not a standard size, and they would have to order the proper supplies to fix my door. They couldn't do this until the insurance company approved the repair. When I spoke to my claims agent I informed him of this. We could hash out the other details on my lost items but it was crucial that my door be approved immediately. I had to call and email multiple times in addition to having my local agent call before I could get a response. It took 2-3 weeks in total for my front door to be repaired. When it came to my items, they gave me a minimal amount. For three flat screen TVs, jewelry and a brand new tablet they offered me $483.00. It left a bad taste in my mouth when it came to Allstate.
My policies renewed in November and not only did my homeowners insurance increase, my auto policy increased as well. I've NEVER had an at-fault accident where my insurance paid. My credit score went up and I have zero speeding tickets. When I inquired about the increase I was told "oh, the entire state of GA had an increase." I asked multiple friends if their insurance went up and no one else's did. I think they were trying to get back money from my break-in claim. I couldn't go to another insurance company because now I had a loss on my record. I moved and the quote I got for the new property was MORE than double my original quote. It was at that point that I left Allstate.

I found this site to review another insurance company. After reading all the reviews, I felt more confident in Allstate than ever, but need to shop around for savings. I've been with Allstate for home insurance since 2003 and auto insurance since before then. I've had one accident in 2007 where I was rear ended and my car was totaled. After several cumbersome experiences with the at-fault motorist's insurance company, Direct, I elected for subrogation under Allstate. The process took a month, I was given a fair value for my vehicle and had purchased a new vehicle. At that time, I had not purchased a plan to provide me with a rental, so I was out of pocket this amount. Since then, I've had 3 very smooth windshield claims where a 3rd party came out to my office to repair/replace.
Another reviewer cited she never received an accident free bonus check as commercials suggest. This one of several benefits as a Platinum plan subscriber. As such a subscriber, I receive these bonus checks 2x annually, which amount to about $160 a year. Another benefit is a diminishing deductible, decreasing from $500 to $0. The final benefit and mostly what you pay the 15% more for is accident forgiveness for more than 1 accident in 5 years. I've been promptly taken care of any time I've needed to call the 800 number or my local agent and I'm able to easily access my documents online (like annually finding the declarations page of my home policy for the refundable Citizens/Fair surcharge on my Louisiana income tax return).
Having said all that, I haven't shopped around for another provider since I started using Allstate 13+ years ago, until I found I was eligible for a Liberty Mutual discount through the AICPA and the auto quote came back $2,500 cheaper per year for 2 autos. The home quote was a savings of less than $200. My agent advised I'd save $600 annually by moving off the Platinum plan, which puts the Liberty Mutual quote at a better price. I'll continue to shop around but with reviews like what I'm reading against all providers, I'll need to dig in deeper and get some personal recommendations. The tendency is to only provide a review as a warning to other users when we've had a negative experience. I found mostly only 1 star reviews against all providers, which is what prompted me to write this review. I took off one star for Allstate due to the fact I believe I'm overpaying, but I'm a happy customer otherwise.

The hulking brother intimidated the police into accepting her story and would not listen to me. The ER doctor verified that my injuries were from a high-speed collision in the back. The Allstate claim adjuster never called them, returned my calls, and pushed responsibility onto me. Furthermore, Allstate changed my due date, issued cancellation notices, and forced me to pay two months worth of payments in order to keep auto coverage. They claimed it was for not being registered with auto pay. I claim that's sabotage.

I was involved in an auto accident. I was turning right, the other driver was turning left. The other driver turned into the wrong lane and tried to drive me off the road after his turn. My front left tire left a distinct rubber circle on the right side of the other guys car. The evidence is as clear as day that I had completed my turn and was in the correct lane when the accident occurred.
Allstate claimed I ran into the other guy in the middle of an intersection with the front of my car. I told them their description was not possible, based on the tire mark and asked for them to further clarify. They were not able to provide an explanation of how my car left a tire mark on the other guys car AND I caused the accident. The only way I was able to make sense of their decision was if I had mounted a rotating tire on the front of my vehicle and then quickly removed it after the accident. They stuck by their original decision that I was at fault.
Me and the other driver were both insured by Allstate. I firmly believe they made their decision because I only had liability insurance, so it was cheaper for them to place the fault on me. Allstate's failure to evaluate the evidence before coming to a conclusion and then incorrectly placing blame really defeats the purpose of auto insurance. I understand that it was in their best interest to assign the fault to the driver with only liability insurance, but this is neither an honest nor just policy. I would only consider recommending Allstate to my worst enemies. Personally, I will be taking my business elsewhere.

I am writing this review to tell you that I was denied coverage from their company because of the consumer reporting agency they contacted without my knowledge. And apparently they didn't have good things to say about me! However, Allstate said that was not the only reason I was denied. The other reasons were because of where I lived, the car make and model and where it was going to be kept. I live in a city in PA. It's not like I live in the "ghetto". And also because of the make and model of the vehicle, apparently Allstate isn't a Nissan Pathfinder fan. The last and final reason for my denial of coverage was where I was going to keep my vehicle which would have been parked on the street in front of my house! I'm sorry that being a single mother of three tweens, I live where I can afford. I like the Nissan pathfinder and I park my vehicle on the street like I'm sure millions of other people do!!
They did not want to provide me a policy. That's fine but did they have to insult me by saying about the location of my home, my choice of vehicle, and where it was going to be parked?? That was rude and I read in on of their advertisements about how they are a company with integrity. Well I can tell you what their company does not have, a dictionary. He swerved JUST IN TIME to not completely nail my back end, which thank God he did bc my 6-month old was in the back on that side anyways. Cops were called, NO AMBULANCE CAME & report was filed. That day I called my insurance (Progressive) to let them know what had happened and that I was going to file claim through his insurance due to it NOT BEING MY FAULT. So a couple days goes by, I call his insurance wondering what the hell is going on and the lady basically tells me that they haven't made contact with him and that they will not proceed any farther until so.
I told her it was **. Another 4 days goes by... I call the person who is supposed to be my local agent and he says that the guy still hasn't responded to any phone calls/emails/or certified letters that have been sent. I'm sitting here thinking how the hell is it NOT ILLEGAL to NOT contact your insurance in the case of an accident right?!? WRONG.
I'm told that they have up to 30 days to contact him and if no contact can be made that I will be responsible for going after the insured. I told him that if the guy wanted to talk to them he would have done it by now. They needed to look at the police report which CLEARLY STATES he was in the wrong!! He said "Oh yeah... Switching to Allstate Insurance was one of the biggest mistakes I have ever made. Prior to Allstate, I was insured by Progressive. Although, Progressive a little more expensive, it is so worth it especially if you ever have an accident. I was side swiped by an ambulance driver. The ambulance driver was not paying attention and hit me on the driver's side. There was a bystander who witnessed the entire accident. I filed a claim with Allstate, and from there it was a disaster. During the entire process, I had to constantly call the claims agent to check on the progress of my claim. She did not advocate or even act like she cared to contact the ambulance to see if they were going to pay for anything. She told me two different stories about the police report. Initially, she claimed the accident was written up as no fault accident and the ambulance company just is not responding.
This claims agent told me that she will not continue to call the other entities insurance. So after I paid my deductible to have my car fixed, I thought that was the end of it. It was a no fault, my premiums will stay the same, I'll take that as a loss and move on. Well 5 months later, when it's time for a renewal, I'm informed that there's a significant increase in my premium because of this claim. So of course, the first thing I do is call the claims office. I ask to speak to a manager because it was evident that I was not happy and had problems with my claim agent. I tell the manager the situation and ask for clarification. What does she do - put me right back on the phone with the person that I was having problems with.
I ask the claims agent what happened after I paid my deductible, and explained that my insurance premium increased. Her response was they settled the claim in December and determined that I was at fault. No notification, no communication, no anything. So not only did she not advocate on my behalf, she failed to contact the witness who saw the entire accident. I asked is there anything we can do either from her end or the agent's end to amend the situation because I don't want to leave Allstate. She said no and have a good day. This is by far the worst experience I have had with an insurance company of any kind. The customer service is horrible. The auto repair company even had issues with the claim department while they were trying to finish up with my car. I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone.

No info found and yes we are paying for this noninsured motorist with all state. Then a few weeks later I get hit while backing up from our driveway. I driven for more than 18 yrs and 6 yrs out of my driveway at my current home. A lady hits me. Backs way too far back right into my back driver side bumper. I get out of my car and I ask her "why you back up so far back?" She says "I don't know?"
Found out after she was in a rental and states she is tired. Not only was she in a rental by Enterprise Rentals she has not insured her rental. She gives me her info. I contact Allstate. They have an adjuster at the claims dept and he is playing games with everyone's claims & not stating he is the adjuster. Just that he is handling the claim for me. How does one who is swamped with claims determine one's claim? He did not ask for any pictures of accident and he was too quick on making a determination on my damage to my vehicle. I told him to fight more into my accident and he stated that it is the determination and the law of a two party driving vehicles. Backing up is 50/50 at fault. But no one is at fault. It's called liability since 2 parties did not see neither one backing up per state of CA???
How is this that my husband which was hit less than 3 weeks of me obtaining his 500 reimbursed monies cause we pay for the noncoverage motorist and to come to find out I get hit and again I have to pay 500 deductible in less than 1 month of his accident. Go figure. If this isn't fraud I hope someone in the Allstate starts singing cause I've seen fraud in many shapes and sizes. I just hope this isn't another one happening before my very own eyes.
I read all stories and Allstate is another business that needs auditing period to get all people's monies rightfully back to them. Auto insurance deductibles are not a joke and something to play with. We people of the US pay monies monthly and just to have insurances run a muck out of us all. And yes all insurances use one particular body shop right down the street. From estimating office one determines cost and body shop hikes up the pricing. To me this is not correct. I would love to see the monies in which accounting dept sits on. We all have to realize that if it's a large business there is fraud always involved. I've seen it with my very own eyes for 10+ yrs and it frightens me.

I have been an Allstate customer for 10+ years and thankfully have never had to file a claim. I recently was involved in a hit and run accident which led me to reach out and file a claim with my Allstate insurance. An adjuster came out and soon my 2007 Toyota Camry hybrid was off to the body shop for repairs. Three weeks later my vehicle was ready for pickup.
As I pulled away from the body shop with my visually perfect car I noticed several check engine, traction, hybrid system lights on. I addressed it with the body shop. I was told that the system needed reset and I was on my way. When I approach my house 10 miles down the road all of the lights came on again. I returned the vehicle first thing the next morning. The car was transported to the Toyota dealership where a error reader disclosed that the 7th cell in the hybrid system had gone out. Allstate was then called back out to determine if this was in relation to the accident.
Allstate denies any relation to the accident and has left me with a car that is now undrivable. That was 3 weeks ago when they requested any information that could prove the relation between the impact of the collision and the battery now in not working condition. I since then have provided several documents supporting the claim and several reasons including certified hybrid mechanics validating the claim. Allstate is not happy with what I have provided and has denied any responsibility in covering this malfunctioning part of my car that was functioning perfectly fine before the accident.
As a loyal customer I feel like I have lost faith in the people who are running this company. After speaking to several managers I feel like no one is doing what's right and working hard to find the answers. Instead, I had to fight and seek out the professionals, and even still Allstate chose not to look at the facts. In the case of my denial to cover the battery in the damages I feel like the state system has deeply disappointed me. Not one person has gone above and beyond to do what's right. I pay my bill each and every month and haven't asked for anything and the first time I make a legitimate claim I am looked over. What a shame Allstate!

I've been hit - drag by other car. I'm on the turn to the right that time on the street. My adjuster told me that he gonna help me about my claim to process. They repair our car to the shop. I mentioned it to them that fluid leaking to our car since the accident happen and they told us the allstate adjuster they are going to check everything the part of the accident. This insurance company not professional. We pay for the deductible and they told us the car is already finished and we went to the shop. We check the car. The one they put for the paint for the bumper it doesn't match and I'm trying to complain to them. They told they are going to fixed the issue to our car.
Since we brought to our car to their own shop they broke our power switch and they broke my headlight. And I complained to my adjuster Anthony ** who handles my claim. He told me that they're going to fixed the problem since their own shop messed up to our car and end up they did not fixed our car - power switch for window and the windshield tank and all the part they broke to our car we end up pay for the parts. I would not recommend Allstate.

I am currently looking for quotes from other insurance companies and am getting quite a few quotes that are a whole lot less money per month. A few months back I was in the woods with my 4 wheel drive getting a Christmas tree slipped on a little bit of snow and put a small dent in the rear corner panel of my Chevy pickup. I did not even turn in a claim. I simply called and ask what my deductible was and when asked why I was asking for the amount of my deductible I explained to them what had happened and they inform me that Simply Having insurance was just to be covered or rather to appease the government so every month when I pay my insurance LOL it's just so that my driver's license doesn't get pulled.
Anyway they inform me that every six months there would be a surcharge if I made a claim no matter how small or large the claim ended up being. I told them that was fine that I wasn't planning on making a claim anyway. I fix the dent myself. Well it's funny my insurance went up 50% at renewal for no reason. I did not even make a claim on the insurance and it went up.

My daughter's car was totaled by one of their clients and they only paid for a rental for 2 days after the agreed amount for the car. She hasn't even received the check for the settlement to get a car and now has no car while being pregnant and having a one year old to care for. So now she can't get to work, doctor, or store until she gets the money and finds a car. They are crooked!!

The claims process is very poor. My home was broken into one month ago. I have already had three adjusters, with a fourth coming to my home to take pictures of the damages. I have been lied to and told multiple stories to delay the claim. For a month now, me, my husband, and my children have had to sleep on cut up mattresses, and live with cut up furniture and busted televisions. My family has cooperated with the insurance company with any and everything they have requested. I have been told twice that a payment would be issued to resolve the damages, but each time was a lie. Now after contacting corporate offices, my agent, claims management, the claims owner and investigator, I am told it is just a process that they don't have to resolve within any certain amount of time.
My premiums are automatically deducted from my checking account each month, but Allstate thinks they can conduct business in this manner regarding claims. This I believe is "Bad Faith" and the insurance company does not care. I only had money taken during the robbery, the rest of the damage was vandalism, with photo documentation for everything. Please beware of this insurance company, they do not treat their customers fair.

Please stay away from them! I was getting quotes from different companies and AllState gave me the best rate. So, I chose them and paid my insurance in full. After a few weeks, they raised the rate out of nowhere. I contacted them several times but they didn't provide me any reason for this increase. I'll never ever either purchase from them or recommend them to anyone! Please stay away!

This company is crooked. I have been a customer of theirs for at least 3 plus years, it may even be 5 not sure, but I had my policy cancelled due to a 28.17 charge that generated due to a billing issue from a hold on a check that caused me to open another bank account. My payment did not go through and then they took the payment out of new account which generated a 25.00 check fee. I received an email that they would take this fee out with payment they took the payment out but actually did not take fee out. They generated it as a bill in the amount of 28.17 which nobody can really explain the additional 3.17 but regardless it was generated the day after they took payment. This fee was apparently due on 4/6/16 and I was not notified of this bill so I had no idea I owed this until I called in our accident that occurred on 4/15/16 to find out my policy was cancelled.
My agent said it would be no problem to get reinstated as well as the lady whom took my claim but both of them were wrong as I called but they would not reinstate after quite a long hold in which I am positive they seen the claim and figured this was sure fire way to not cover the accident. I was then contacted by my agent letting me know that the reason they couldn't reinstate was because I was not a policy holder for over ten years or holding multiple policies. Although I know for a fact that this is not true as I have had it confirmed by quite a few people that they got reinstated and had not been a long outstanding customer and they did not have multiple policies. I also have a statement backing this by someone whom is a employee of Allstate as well.
HORRIBLE COMPANY AND I RECOMMEND NOBODY DOING BUSINESS WITH ALLSTATE. If you do happen to do business please check your accounts daily to ensure you don't have anything shady go on with this company. I think I have figured out why they have so many multiple different names such as Allstate Northbrook Indemnity as well as a bunch more this one just happens to be the one I had.
