My car was hit by an Allstate driver in the passenger and rear doors. The police report shows it was their driver's fault but Allstate's policy is DELAY, DENY AND DEFEND with their on retainer auto accident lawyers. Allstate wouldn't send an appraiser instead making me download their app and send them pictures. They offered to pay 20% of their estimate of $600. I took the car to 3 body shops and the estimates were all above $3500. Told not to drive the car. Airbag issue and door wouldn't open. We had to go to binding arbitration where Allstate knows in NYS it's easy to get the reviewer to settle on a partial responsibility. They do this to screw their own insured too as the nice little old lady didn't get her car money either. Your wallet is in good hands with Allstate, they as a corporation should be ashamed. God help anyone who has to deal with the corporation.

***Agent ID ** Chad from Allstate horrible person, says he doesn’t care if I contact the CEO about his behavior. He says if you all confront him about our call he will just say that he is licensed in all 50 states so he can’t help everyone. Kelly the rep I spoke with also was rude because she doesn’t know your policies. She told me to "go right ahead" when I stated I would complain about her customer service. ***

I’ve been having horrible customer service from Allstate. First they lied to me about what was covered on my insurance so they could get my bank account information. Then after the lie, they have given me the worst customer service when I try to find out what their policies are for certain coverages. They get attitudes because they don’t know Allstate’s policies, and John Fox Tampa Florida office is beyond horrible. His reps need to be fired. All of the reps I mentioned give your company a bad name. The manager Thomas I spoke to was amazing but unfortunately Chad agent ID ** refused to get me back over to him.

Underwriting added an au pair who hasn't lived with us in 3 years to our policy. When we complained, we were told that we were notified - not true. The local agent, Gary **, is refusing a refund. This is fraudulent and we will be pursuing alternatives for our cars, home and life insurance policies. Shame on you, Allstate.

My family had been with Allstate for more than 30 years, after I actually worked for them. We had several other policies with them as well, such as homeowners, boat, and umbrella policies. Recently, my wife's car was rear-ended in an accident, and sustained moderate damage. Allstate picked a low-ball value for our car, declared it to be a total loss, and refused to pay to have it repaired or for the damage. They also advised that if we kept the car and had it repaired ourselves, they would have the title branded as a total loss vehicle, and that they would no longer insure it. Allstate used an outside valuation company for the claim, who scoured the country for "comparable vehicles," which ranged from two hundred to a thousand miles away.

None were the same edition or equipment, and most had other serious differences. When we asked them to replace our car with a similar local vehicle which was for sale, they said that they don't do that. When we objected to their valuation, they couldn't have cared less. The value that they came up with was approximately half of what it would cost to replace the car. ($5,800 vs. $10,000). After more than 30 years as a customer, with few claims, their attitude was take it, or go through our appeal process, which they advised "could take months, and you could end up paying for that as well." We have had a few claims in the past, mostly not our fault, and they were always handled promptly and fairly. Ironically, we were later asked to take a survey on how our claim was handled.

I let them know that we were very unhappy with the entire process, and that we felt cheated in the valuation of our vehicle. We never heard back from them. Our agent was outstanding. He was very upset at how we were treated, and tried, but he couldn't get Allstate to act responsibly on our behalf. We switched to Travelers. Same coverage, great company, and we save $600 per year. We will miss our agent, but we won't miss Allstate.

I was rear ended by a client with Allstate. They refused to cover the repairs to my vehicle stating that I wasn’t paying attention. I had to spend money out of my pocket to take the lady who hit me to small claims court and Allstate hired an attorney to try and claim that I was not driving safely. The lady who hit me was instructed to lie to the judge by the attorney. I won my case. Obviously I was rear ended and they didn’t have a case. I am still waiting to be paid to fix my car. EVERY TIME I call the agent handling my claim it goes straight to voicemail. How terrible is it for this money hungry corporation to try and screw people over who have been hit by their clients.

I had been an Allstate customer for close to 10 years. About 3 years ago my Agent Dennis ** retired and customer service has never been the same; my premiums kept going up every 6 months even though I had never had a claim. I kept meaning to get new insurance but could never find the time to research for new quotes. I eventually did in September 2018 and lo and behold I secured premiums that were 66% cheaper than I was paying with AllState. I emailed my then Agent Melody ** and followed up with a phone call that I would be cancelling my insurance effective midnight September 21, 2018. Yep, you guessed it, the cancellation didn’t happen and to top it all they went ahead and deducted October’s premium from my checking account causing an overdraft situation.

After numerous emails and phone calls I was able to get them to refund the erroneous October deduction and they were “nice enough” to refund the $30 OD fee assessed by my bank or so I thought. In trying to get them to refund my prorated amount for September a CS rep told me the extra $30 on the October refund was the prorated September amount. I doubt that 'cause I was paying $200/month for auto and 9 days does not equate to $30 not to mention there was nothing refunded on my condo policy. Long story short...stay away from Melody **'s agency. Their service sucks, they don’t return phone calls and emails fall into a black hole never to be seen by anyone and if you cancel prior to the end of your term don’t expect a refund!!!

Got rear-ended by a guy going 40 mph with All State Insurance. I was stopped at a red light minding my own business--the guy never put on the brakes. I was extremely sore in my back and neck for weeks. Could've sued for thousands. Instead all I asked was for car rental reimbursement while my GMC Yukon was in the shop. All State said, "No problem." So I drove a rental for 2 weeks and submitted my receipt. They paid me less than 1/2 claiming that the car I rented was excessive. It was a Nissan Rogue (smaller than my GMC Yukon). I am a high school girls golf coach and need at least an SUV to transport the clubs. All State didn't care. I guess what they say about insurance companies is true... they will screw you if given the chance. I was definitely "not in good hands."

My auto premium has steadily been going up every policy period $50+ for liability only on 3 order cars. When I called my agent about the never ending increases I was told "economy is good. Everyone is driving and texting and filing claims." I got Costco now and pay $300 a year less for FULL coverage on 2 of my 3 cars and same amount of liability coverage. Now when I see an Allstate commercial on tv (2-3 an hour sometimes) I laugh not cringe.

My car was hit while being parked in my daughter's driveway at her home, by an Allstate customer. No one was in the car, and she admitted fault. This happened on the 18th of October, it has been almost one month and still have no car. Took it to one of their shops, and the place she hit it in the back quarter panel, apparently had been bonded before, (this is a 2007). She caused quite a bit of damage to the car, so Allstate says since it had been bonded before and it cracked where she hit it they will not pay to have this repaired. It has to be replaced ($2000.00) and I have to pay for it. The shop took the car apart to get the estimate, and say they won't repair it unless I pay for the new quarter panel. I was then informed that I had to pay $138 to pay for the disassembly charges before they would release it to another shop that is willing to fix it, without replacing the quarter panel.

I did talk the shop down to $78, Allstate refuses to pay for this also. They say the hit the car took from her hitting it wouldn't have cracked if it hadn't been bonded. I say if she hadn't hit it, it wouldn't have cracked. This is my grandson's car, he is 17 so could not get a rental, so he has been getting rides for almost a month now. I requested a rental car for me, and he could drive my car. They said sure I'm entitled to one, but to this day still have no rental car. I have talked to so many different people and get nowhere with anyone. It makes no sense how your car is parked legally in your driveway and Allstate customer hits it, and you end up paying out of your pocket.

If anyone can explain this to me please do. I have contacted the State Board of Insurance, and I am filing, but they said it will be 3 to 4 months before they get to this issue. Where is the JUSTICE... All I've ask Allstate for is to cosmetically put the car back to where it was before it was hit. They have informed me also, none of their shops will fix it without me paying to replace the quarter panel, even though they agree it can simply be bonded. They also have no recommendations where to take it. I've had to do all the searching on my own with no help from Allstate...

Allstate states that WE as the victims of their client's negligence are held responsible for a rental car while our vehicle is being repaired. They tried to close the claim out prematurely without properly assessing the repairs and damage. If it weren't for my dispute Allstate would have sent my wife and 3 kids back on the road with MAJOR drivetrain damage. With the vehicle having to go back the shop Allstate still claims that they are not liable for the rental cost because the original case was closed 2 weeks premature. YOU'RE IN GOOD HANDS? More like, "WE GOT YOU. NOW PAY UP SUCKER!" WHAT A JOKE.

I've been an Allstate customer ever since I started driving, and it's an absolute JOKE. My car was hit in a roundabout a few weeks ago by a man who was in the incorrect lane and trying to exit without paying attention. He admitted to both of those facts. He also happened to be another Allstate customer. My adjuster, Faith, assured me multiple times that the other driver was clearly at fault, and we shouldn't have any issues. I was skeptical, and being in customer service I knew she shouldn't be making those kinds of statements, but I had hope that Allstate would do the right thing. They didn't.

My adjuster and his (Jennifer, who did nothing but accuse me of being in the wrong lane, which I proved wrong with a simple Google search, and argue rather than listen to what happened) "couldn't come to an agreement," and passed the case onto their manager, Brian. I then received a call stating that my case was a "he-said-she-said" situation, and that the damage to my car would not be taken care of. When I contacted the manager, it was clear that he couldn't care less about the situation and waved me off when I told him I will be looking into a different insurance company.

I'm not even upset that Allstate's decision didn't go my way. I'm upset because they don't care about their customers. My car was rammed in the side by a driver who wasn't paying attention, and Allstate just doesn't care. I truly believe that if the other driver had a different insurance company, Allstate would've fought for their and my money. I'm lucky that I wasn't injured, because I'm sure they wouldn't have taken care of any hospital bills, either. I will be switching insurance companies and filing a complaint with Virginia's Bureau of Insurance.

I still to this day have not received a straight answer to when my claim will be completed. I have to deal with the investigator that was assigned to the claim (a real treat) and all I ever get is "we are working on it". I sat with the lawyer and investigator. On October 11th they told me two weeks, now it is November 2nd and still no word, no update, or communication. After receiving a letter that only allowed me 5 days to respond (from the date of the letter), I tried reaching my agent. I tried several times and spoke to Allstate Corporate who also tried to reach them. After about 3 weeks, when I got a personal cell number for my agent, they said they had system issues with Allstate (couldn't get to any Allstate corporate system, including their voice mail or receive phone calls). They answered questions about the letter I had received and why.

Sent that in, however still receiving invoices from Allstate. The Corporate number said only the agency can remove the charges (didn't back date it even though I couldn't reach the agency). The agency still didn't have access to the Allstate system so couldn't do anything. Three weeks later, I've tried again. The agent is no longer with Allstate (wouldn't respond why, but I'm guessing because they couldn't do business without access to the Allstate corporate system, including getting phone calls). I've tried Corporate again to get the charges removed. They said there isn't anything they can do about removing the charges! This is not acceptable!!!

Only giving one star because I have. They don’t deserve any stars! I have read some of the reviews and I’m sad to see that I am not the only person that has been treated horribly by the Allstate claims department. No one ever contacted me and they tried to make it my daughter’s fault that one of their customers hit her and was in the wrong. I have called again and again. The person handling my claim was on vacation for 10 days and no one else seemed to be able to help me. I finally got them to let me talk to the supervisor who did try and help me and over six weeks later I’m still waiting for something to be done about my claim. The adjuster was the only person who was somewhat helpful to me in this whole process. I never received a rental. They told me I should go through my own insurance which is absolutely ridiculous when the accident was clearly their customer's fault.

I call on a daily basis to speak to the person handling my claim and they never answer the phone or return my call. The one time I did get to speak with her she told me her supervisor was on vacation but that she would get back to me no later than the end of the next business day. Shockingly that never happened. I called at least three times the day after that with no response whatsoever. I would never use Allstate insurance. If their rates are cheaper it’s probably because you get no service whatsoever. They pay people to sit around and put everything off on to someone else.

It was to be for 2 months only then she would be out of the country for a year and removed from the policy. The quote dropped over $300 a month at that time. However, when that date arrived, several requests had to be made for my daughter to be removed from the policy and it only dropped $159 a month. There was no explanation and the coward agent stopped communication. The next message was from the clerk who answers his phone stating she had someone else look at the numbers and had a quote for me. They had given all my personal information to an independent agent in another city without my permission, inaccurate information regarding our needs, and often a quote with another company. They were going 35 mph with no skid marks so I was hit at full force. I have been in treatment since. Allstate has given me a few minor offers which would only cover my out of pocket and Medicare and secondary insurance. To make a long story short, Allstate closed my case without paying a dime saying I didn't accept their offer. I WOULD NEVER EVER BUY ALLSTATE INSURANCE AND RECOMMEND THAT YOU NEVER GET PUT IN THAT POSITION. I am awaiting a supervisor to call me. If I don't hear tomorrow, I will start calling lawyers in NC. My vehicle suffered comprehensive damages on 09/16/2018 and a claim was opened 09/17/2018, after we determined the damage was too severe to fix ourselves. The car was inspected by the adjuster- in our driveway, which made no sense- then towed to the Toyota Dealer for complete diagnosis and we requested secondary adjustments. After being in the shop for a few days, there was no adjuster. We, along with the shop, called numerous times over the next few days and Allstate finally sent out a new adjuster. There was absolutely no communication from Allstate unless we reached out to them first. The car was deemed a total loss and we were issued initial paperwork 2 weeks after the claim opened.

Contacting Allstate's Total Loss Dept required an approx. wait time of at least 30 minutes and you'll be lucky to even think about getting a call back- even if they need something from you, you will not be contacted. We decided to keep the vehicle and it took another week for Allstate to issue new documents (issued 10/04/2018 but our rental had to be turned in 10/05/2018 despite the claim not yet being closed). Regardless, by this time, we had already had the car fixed, back in our possession and a new car purchased and added to our policy. I filled out the Owner Retained Vehicle paperwork according to the instructions and sent in the Certificate of Title on 10/10/2018, delivered 10/11/2018 and signed by "Perry". Called to follow up due to no online update and Allstate stated they couldn't find my documents. I just had to resubmit everything already sent. It has been 1 month and I just want this closed!

To top it off, when I added my new vehicle to my policy on 10/02/2018, Allstate securely emailed me a copy of the payment schedule for a total balance of $756.**; $192.** for the next 4 months- due 11/052, 12/05, 01/05 and 02/05. I sent payment 10/15 that posted 10/16/2018 for the 11/05 due date. Allstate then sent me a bill for $145.** to be due 11/02. I'm ahead on payments and paid according to the schedule they sent me, so they need to stop with the unethical billing in trying to get $345.** from me for the first month. I'll pay as owe and due. Contacting customer service did absolutely nothing. I'm unhappy with my lost time and the major inconvenience this has caused, and I cannot wait until I find a new insurer.

During my recent claim experience I found Allstate's coverage to be excellent. My damages and bodily injury were covered more than adequately. They did not challenge or question any of my expenses. They provided speedy car rental services that were aligned with a collision shop too, which was quite convenient. However, I was unhappy with the customer service I received. The central claims agents seemed uninformed about procedures when I called to open the claim. They could not answer all the questions I had, and were vague with some of their answers to my questions. I was routed to a claims examiner, and a medical claims examiner, so there were two non-connected things going on.

I was also routed to a more senior claims examiner after the initial examiner contacted me and did what he was supposed to do. I ended up dealing with 5 different customer service representatives and claims agents during the course of one relatively straightforward claim. Too complex, too much runaround. Ultimately I was able to get help from my local agent, who cut through some of the red tape and helped simplify my experience. So I would not purchase through Allstate central, I would always utilize a local agent who can run interference during a claim. Overall however, I get the lowest price from Allstate, and every time I shop around I'm told I can't do better. So I am satisfied to stay with Allstate.

All seemed initially good, however, the premium seemed to constantly rise and with the last notice of an almost three hundred dollar increase on our renewal we decided to not renew and cancel following the last payment to Allstate and switch back to Geico. Now regarding payment, we had automatic bill pay with Allstate, never an issue except for when we decided to not renew our policy. Once we notified Allstate of the non renewal I went to the website to close out automatic bill pay etc. following our last payment. Turns out it shows I have a 275 balance.

When I called Allstate to find out what the charge was they said there was a policy change prior to the last billing. I indicated we never authorized a policy change and were never notified of a policy change or premium increase. The only letter we received was for the renewal which showed a premium increase and the reason why we decided to leave Allstate. So how can Allstate change your policy with a premium increase and never notify you, however, expect you to pay? These companies complain of fraud, this has fraud written all over it! Now I have an excellent payment history and credit, however, Allstate sent this outstanding balance to a collection agency so I sent my complaint over to the BBB. I had nothing but runarounds & problems trying to get my car fixed. The person handling the claim was rude & obnoxious not only to me but to my insurance company & the Collision center where I took my car for repair. Even though I was in my own lane, not exceeding the speed limit or anything else I shouldn't be doing Allstate decided they would only pay 80% of the damages & I would have to pay the rest. WHAT? Yes, because I didn't swerve or blow my horn. With the traffic & the way the guy abruptly changed lanes it was an instant & no time for any of that.

I made the mistake of talking to them because I thought they were an honorable Co. I was wrong. Their only concern was tricking me into saying I didn't blow my horn or swerve so they wouldn't have to pay. I have never heard of anything like that. He got the ticket, he illegally changed lanes & hit me. Then the hoops I had to go through to try & make the claim was ridiculous. They kept shutting down the access to the link my repair shop was trying to send the photos of the damage to. Because their people wouldn't come out to do an estimate. It took me over a month to get my car fixed. You are NOT in "Good Hands" with Allstate, to me their hands are more like a crook with hands in your pocket.

I went and had two estimates done on the damage (at the request of the other party who initially thought he would pay for the damage out of his pocket). The estimates came to $1,640 and $1,820. Despite my having estimates from two licensed body shops, Allstate insisted that I use their quickfoto claim estimate app.

I was required to take several photos of the car (from all four sides even though the damage was only on the driver's side door). They then paid $850 to settle the claim and wouldn't even look at the estimates that I provided to them. Both body shops stated that damage to a door could not be properly assessed with photographs. Allstate will not let me appeal the settlement (I'd have to sue them) and the representative with whom I spoke in Alabama (Randall) would not put me through to his supervisor. What???? This doesn’t make sense to me, nevertheless I decided to buy the parts myself, as I searched for the parts I found that everywhere I searched the parts were referred to as “struts” including the original equipment. I looked into canceling the contract and found that I would only get $700.00 taken off the loan on my Challenger. I would lose $1000.00. What???? So I ordered the “struts” to repair my car. I decided not to cancel my contract in hopes that it might cover something down the road. Hindsight I don’t think I’ll ever purchase another service contract. I had a terrible experience with Allstate I’d like to share to warn others. I was hit while my car was parked in a parking lot. The other driver did minimal damage to my car but my car was only 4 months old so we exchanged information as he said he wanted to do the right thing and take care of the damage. I filed a claim through his insurance, Allstate, and they instructed me to send them pics of the damage, they would give me an estimate for repairs then I would go to an auto body shop of my choice, give them the paperwork and Allstate would pay them direct. I did exactly that.

I scheduled the repair during time I would be out of town so they wouldn’t have to worry about a loaner for me. The repair shop found additional damage while working on the car and communicated this with Allstate. I got a call from the Allstate adjuster while I was away that the car would take slightly longer because of the additional damage and they were just calling to let me know.

9 days later I go to pick up my car and the auto body shop said Allstate is refusing to pay because the driver whom hit me hasn’t called to give his statement yet. Why am I just finding this out now?? How could Allstate wait until after the repairs we done to let me know if this? They said they never accepted liability so they won’t pay it. Why would they send the estimate over? Why would they negotiate and approve a supplement for additional damage if they haven’t even spoken to their insured? I ended up having to pay for the entire repair out of my own pocket just to get my car back. I would have never approved the cost of this repair but I wasn’t involved at all because the auto body shop negotiated the price with Allstate.

Allstate acts like they are customer service oriented and want to make claims quick and easy. They really dropped the ball on this case but they claim no responsibility for their failure. My vehicle should never have gotten to the point of being repaired unless they had what they needed to move forward. Over about a 20 day period no adjuster ever made any indication to myself or the body shop they possibly wouldn’t pay. The auto body shop says they have never seen anything like this before and someone at Allstate made a mistake and now this has cost me $1300 that I never authorized.

Beware Allstate gives a false sense of security however won’t follow thru with their responsibility. You never know if they are really going to follow thru with payment until it’s too late. I’ve called numerous time to find out how to resolve and now my calls are ignored. Disgusted by their lack of service and a completely broken policy they have on communication.

Allstate offers awesome discounts on auto insurance if you have a smart phone, computer, and internet access. Customers who can’t afford such niceties are discriminated against. There is a 3% discount and cash back reward to download their app and let them track your every move with Drivewise, however if you can not afford a smart phone or are unwilling to allow them to access your every move you will be financially punished.

Another discount only received by those with computer and internet access is called e-smart, all of your policy info and bills are accessed online, requiring money to save money. If you wish to get a paper bill you will be charged $4 per bill!!! If you give them access to your checking account they charge you $1.50 pee bill!! You get charged to pay your bill!?!? But, again if you have money and pay in full you do not get charged the billing fees and again get another discount for the wealthy only. This company punishes and discriminates anyone without money!!!

I have tried multiple times to get help with a simple problem regarding our mileage/usage on one vehicle. I have supplied ample documentation yet have not been able to get any help from anyone at Allstate. The agent's office keeps making me jump through hoops and provide more and more documentation for a very simple problem that is clearly a mistake. The 800 numbers are only recordings and transfer me directly to the agent's office over and over. Our annual mileage is documented at an amount that is more than is even on the car to this date! This has increased our policy premium. I have no one else to call...

I went to the chiropractor four times for treatment and each time I was harassed about being reimbursed. I was never able to get a hold of the agent “helping me.” Always had to leave voice mails and wait for her to get back to me. Worst service ever and now I have a messed up back and don’t want to continue treatment because they never pay... isn’t that what insurance is supposed to do? I have now canceled my insurance with them, my husband's insurance, my mom's insurance and working to get my in laws, sister and brother to cancel. If you want good service call Geico.

Not my problem!!! when I've been paying Allstate $420 a month for my insurance for the past 4 yrs. Each time I call for an update I can't get any real answers. It's been almost two weeks and I have no car to take my little one to school, because my car is considered a total loss and I haven't received my car cost. All I'm saying is give us what we pay for speedy, thoughtful and correct care. Allstate has made me feel like I'm not deserving of good care and all the money I have paid for my safety and others has been a waste of time. WITH ALLSTATE YOU'RE NOT IN GOOD HANDS!!!

They avoided my phone calls, I had to block my phone number in order for them to answer me. Never a follow up call or apology, I was without funds for OVER 6 days waiting for a credit from my termination of this policy as they didn't even offer to redo my policy and lower the rate. And I have been a customer for 5 years. Clearly this agent does not value client loyalty and couldn't care less that my kids and I were without money for almost a week! STAY AWAY! Go with Geico... They saved me over 450 dollars a month on my new policy. Allstate should be ashamed of the way this agent treated me and my family after all the business I gave them.

I just came to Allstate in March of this year. In June of 2018 they decided to add my sister to my insurance without letting me know stating they were a "family" insurance company. So basically anyone that had the same address on their license was automatically put on the insurance unless I could provide another address for them or proof they had another insurance. My insurance went from 150 a month to over 400 a month. When I discussed with the local agent I had no idea where she was staying. They insisted because it was my sister I knew something. I asked them to take me off automatic pay and they didn't do it.

It took me almost a month to figure out where she stayed and by that time another bill cycled around and over 400 came out of my account again along with an overdraft fee. They were suppose to give me 500 back but said they could only refund 300. This is the worst company I have ever been with and will be sure to tell everyone I know not to go with them ever.

There is no room for negotiation with ALLSTATE unless I get an attorney to fight for me, they flat out told me that they have made I choice of how much they want to pay me, what they want to pay doesn't even cover the full bill for my treatments $2000. They chose not to pay my son, in their eyes my 9 year old kid who was in the back seat at the time of the accident, didn't suffer any pain.

Talking to their agents is like talking to a wall. You ARE NOT IN GOOD HANDS when it comes to them. Other insurances are better. AAA, Esurance, are best to work with. NOT ALLSTATE. Every time I talked to them I almost got a heart attack because they were so insulting and cold as ice. When I talked to them, the agents gave me more stress that the actual accident. I spent hours talking to them on the phone, and every day I talked to them was a very draining day for me... I don't know how they let Allstate get away with this. Their clients pay thousands of dollars to take care of whomever they hurt in an accident, but ALLSTATE just want to keep all the money for them and don't care about the people at all.

I thought this increase was due to my accident on Dec 31, 2017. I complained of increase. All I got was 2 $10 Visa/MC credit. July 13, 2018 (for Sep renewal) = $1,393.83. Increase from my very first accident (minor accident). Will not be renewing unless Allstate can reduce by a considerate amount. Note: I had one renewal premium decrease the 8 years I've owned my Prius. All renewals were increases with no accidents/tickets with the exception of last renewal. Also, their first time "accident forgiveness" does not apply in California although they advertise on TV in CA market. Umm... it's the 21st century. Due to my former Allstate agent’s error, I overpaid almost $3,000 over 4 years. I had suspected something was wrong several years ago and asked the insurance commission for Kansas to step in and help. We switched agencies and my new agent didn’t catch the mistake. Allstate refunded almost $700 worth (one years overpayment), but now they are refusing to refund the rest as it isn’t their policy to refund more than 1 year’s mistake. I was even told that “as a woman”, I need to better inform myself of how to take care of my household and that I should have known my policy was wrong. They told me I should have checked all my tax records and appraisals against my policy myself and should have never relied on their agents to do so. I’m not an insurance expert, they are...

They promote their “excellent customer service” and then are turning around and telling me it is because I am a woman that I don’t know these things. I had 2 agents look at this, 2 experts because as a VP at a large company, trying to start a business, with a chronic illness, and running a house, I don’t have time to become an insurance expert. I rely on agents just like millions of other Americans.

On top of this discovering they are essentially stealing millions of dollars this way from people who are relying on their “expert agents” that the company doesn’t “back” for more than a year makes me sick. The fact that it was emphasized to me by customer service over and over that as a woman, I should do better is further infuriating! I intend to fight this and hopefully others will do the same! Please share this so others can know what Allstate is doing! I’d highly recommend getting a quote from at least 2 other companies, and asking them not to only use your current policy, but to check original records. It just might truly save you thousands! So I was side swept by an Allstate insured person. He asked that I not call the police to file a report, but I still did. He admitted to the police that he was the one that drifted into my lane and caused the accident. When I filed the claim with Allstate, they took both our statements. When the first adjuster made his final decision he decided that I was at 20% fault for not honking... like I knew his client was going to drift into my lane. I refused to accept that because I was not at fault... and may I add, when I first spoke with the adjuster and I asked him for the process, he stated that he would have to determine fault and depending on his findings, I may be 20% at fault. How did I know he would have put 20% fault on me when he concluded his investigation???

Well, I sent him the police report, which clearly states their insured drifted into my lane, yet they could not use that as evidence that his client was at fault. So I asked to speak to a supervisor. He stated that he didn't have one. Finally, I got to speak to someone else who transferred me to his supervisor. This is where things went south. I spoke to the supervisor, whom I may add, was very rude. He said he would listen to the statements and see all evidence and determine who's at fault. Next day I get a call and he states that the claim was denied because his client never admitted to being at fault. This is all, after the first adjuster determined that their client was at 80% fault and I was at 20% fault for not honking. They have refused to pay $3400 in damages. I refuse to let this go. As of now, they have not paid anything to me. I guess I will have to take their client to small claims.

After all this, I have learned that Allstate is a piece of crap insurance. They will even screw over their own clients just so that they won't have to pay what they have to. Oh and, their Quick Photo app is the worst. They said I had to upload pictures to the app. When I did, they quoted me at $600 for repairs. I demanded that they send someone to see the car. They sent someone, but they refused to work with me on a time. He said I had to leave my car somewhere where he could go see it at any time. Finally, I arranged to borrow a car so they could go see the damages. When they saw it, they quoted me at $3000, $400 less than what the body shop has quoted me. Stay away from Allstate because even if you are their client, they will screw you over.

Contacted my agent for an explanation - Nothing! I switched insurances (forty dollars less per month) and canceled Allstate. When I told her I was canceling, she asked, "Is it because of the cost?" This driver immediately admitted that she did not see us because she was having a conversation with a passenger in the vehicle she was driving. I was informed by the ALLSTATE Claims Adjuster approximately 1 week after the accident that the driver of the vehicle they insured was refusing to speak with him and that he was going to give her 30 days to decide to speak with him before he did anything with the claim. I had already explained that the vehicle belonged to my daughter and that she was employed and had to have a vehicle. The adjuster refused to provide my daughter with a rental and I was informed that if I was unhappy with this I should let my insurance pay for the damages.

My granddaughter was treated at a local Emergency Room. Since this accident it a struggle to get my 4 year old granddaughter into a vehicle which the ALLSTATE adjuster and his manager were made aware of immediately. The adjuster contacted my granddaughter's father on July 6 to inform him that he was going to give my granddaughter $150. Her father reminded the adjuster that it is still a struggle to get her in a vehicle and the adjuster told him he should get her some therapy. Her father asked the adjuster if was aware of how expensive therapy was and the adjuster told him he would throw in an extra $50. As people we should treat others with the same courtesy and respect that we wish to be treated with.

We're all human and accidents happen but if we create a difficult situation for others we should take responsibility and do everything in our to power to make the situation less difficult. If you are a person with any conscience at all this is just something to think about when choosing an insurance company. I called them and while they admitted my policy cancellation was an error on their part and was sorry their computer would not allow them to fix it.

Since their mistake caused a lapse in my insurance, I was stuck with their new policy at a 40 dollar higher rate. Due to my time and frustration, I paid for 6 months on the new/2nd policy. About 3 months into that, again, their billing goes crazy on me again. I get 2 letters in the mail. One tells me my first policy has been reinstated without interruption and wants me to pay the money that had been refunded to me when they canceled it. (But now I have the 2nd policy.) Second letters tells me my 2nd policy was canceled. (Balance had been refunded to my checking account.) I was not going to pay for overlapping coverage. So I contacted my agent again. She was nice and understood my problem but put the blame on their computer for not allowing her to correct it.

Meanwhile I went back to my previous insurance for coverage and just needed to sort out my/their billing problems. Things were not going well and then I get an email wanting me to take a survey to rate them. (Really?) Well I gave them the worst review possible and finally I got my problems resolved. I'm not generally the type to openly complain about a company to other people but they can count on me being extremely vocal about this. Fix AC as stupid as that sounds. ($950) later car still has the noise. Allstate send adjuster to shop to look at car (David **). He did not look at car, did not listen to shop owner and I get a call repair is not covered because I did not take care of car, now repair is around $2700. I also was in a little fender bender and all that took was a phone call as well. They have an easy to use website where I can print out my cards, see my insurance history, etc. I get refunds for good driving. They make everything easy for me and are not outrageously expensive. I have much better coverage than I previously did and have never had any problems with Allstate in the last 10 years.

However, their rates seem a bit more expensive than the Farm Bureau insurance I previously had. Also, some of their "safe" driving policies seem a bit arbitrary. "Hard braking" for instance. That seems like a silly thing to count points off on. Without hard braking, it would be a collision sometimes so it seems to be the preferential thing. Otherwise, I am completely satisfied with my insurance company.

We've been with Allstate for over 50 years and we find it to be a company of integrity that delivers protection that allows its customers the benefits of safety and security. More than 50 years of exceptional service from this company ranks it as top of the list for insurance companies. We also have found that the claims we've made over those decades have been handled in a competent fashion. The claim filing process is quick and easy, and the claims adjusters helpful and knowledgeable.

Only once with an auto insurance claim did we encounter a claims adjuster whose performance was below par. As soon as we spoke to a supervisor the company assigned the claim to someone else. Not only did the new adjuster review the conclusions of the first adjuster, but he also sent out an investigator who, after on the spot observations of the street where the fender bender occurred, reversed the conclusions of the first adjuster who merely took information by phone.

With Allstate no problems exist without immediate and excellent attention from them; all claims were quickly and efficiently handled - we were amazed with their speed of response when a nearly 40 foot saguaro cactus crashed into our great room windows and damaged the roof and surrounding wall and in getting repairs to the same completed. We were also impressed with the high standard work from the contractor they sent to complete the repairs. It's true - we are in good hands with Allstate.

On 04/26/2018, a driver covered by Allstate Insurance backed into our stationary vehicle in an attempt to get into a parking spot. Due to the fact that the car was moving backward against the flow of traffic and driving very erratically, there was no time to take evasive action. A witness to the accident corroborates this account and has provided a statement to this effect to our insurance company.

After wasting an entire week and collecting no evidence other than the photographs we submitted, Allstate came to the conclusion that we are 50% responsible for the collision. Furthermore, they created a ridiculously low repair estimate (again, based on photographs and not an examination of the vehicle) that does not include rental car costs for the repair duration. After wasting another 8 days, during which the claim manager ceased returning our phone calls, they have stood by their decision to only pay for 50% of their estimated repair costs (again, not including rental car).

This is despite having been provided full evidence related to the incident from our insurance company (Geico), including a diagram of the scene and the witness statement that corroborates the correct version of events that led to the collision (our insurance company considers us 0% responsible based on the actual evidence). Allstate specifically refuses to consider this witness statement as part of their case evidence, stating explicitly that they "do not believe the witness statement was a value changing necessity."

In summary, Allstate is engaging in unfair claim settlement practices which are illegal under Arizona law (and I presume other states as well). Specifically, ARS 20-461 states that companies are prohibited from (emphasis mine): Failing to acknowledge and act reasonably and promptly upon communications with respect to claims arising under an insurance policy. Not attempting in good faith to effectuate prompt, fair and equitable settlements of claims in which liability has become reasonably clear. Refusing to pay claims without conducting A REASONABLE INVESTIGATION BASED UPON ALL AVAILABLE INFORMATION. All of this is both illegal and unethical. Shame on you, Allstate!

Allstate handled our claims in a timely and professional manner. They were very respectful to us. We had a wonderful experience with them.

All States say "You are in good hands" but that was not my experience. Dealing with their adjusters was like talking to a wall. They gave me more pain & stress than the actual injury... It took me 2 months stressing from one operator to another, as nobody knew what was going on with my case, I spent hours on the phone trying to figured out who was going to pick up my case... it took them two months to get back to me... every day they added more stress into my life. And never felt more discriminated and unprotected with Allstate Insurance claims department adjusters.

On the day of my accident May 25, 2017 when I first called. The first thing they say and I quote "We don't guarantee that we will pay for any of your injury bills." So I waited to get treatments until they pick up the case, little did I know that it was going to take them 2 months, I didn't want to end up paying for this myself... as from the first day they had said that they don't guarantee and payments.

Two months later the adjuster said to me and I quote, "You should be OK by now." She also said, "We are not responsible for any of your injury bills" quote "You should have your insurance pay for it" and the most discriminating phrase was "If you don't give us your social security number, we can not open your case" and continued saying that it was the Obama law that I gave them my SSN#. Long story short I started my treatments because at that point I was so stress and hurting even more after my conversations with the adjuster, every time I talked to her I lost it, the phrases she used were so discriminating and insulting, I quote "We are not health insurance company." Allstate gets pay millions of dollars from customers, to cover for any damages they have on an accident.

I have spent hours arguing with this people because every time I talked to them was like talking to a wall, they will not negotiate with you, they say what they want to say and that's it, you have to say yes to them no matter what, or they suggest that you get a lawyer... they have been trained to make people feel unprotected and to intimidate them.

I was given the wrong advice in regards to my 9 year old boy... he was with me in the accident, I started treatments late for him too and due to that, they feel they will not pay any pain and suffering for him or any bills at all, they told me that he should have been ok after 2 months, this was an accident on the freeway going at 65 mph, and due to my mistake, they are saying that this child did not suffer any pain and so he is not even consider for any payments at all. Flat out they told me that on the phone, "we will not pay anything for your son". They think he is made of wood and so he did not suffer any pain from the accident at all.

My treatment’s bills were $1500. They only want to give me $500 for that, after I spent time taking off of my work to go get treatment, and the hours I spent trying to settle my case with them, all the 100s of phone calls for nothing. I'm not asking for millions, such small amount of money, they show that they are not here to protect anybody but themselves. Last time I talked to them, was this month May 2018, final word from them "according to the medical guidelines I should have been ok after 2 months without any treatments and just taking over the counter pain medication", I have to say this case has left me with more stress, more pain and frustration. Let me just say this. "YOU ARE NOT IN GOOD HANDS WITH ALLSTATE INSURANCE". All they want is your money.

So if you haven't had an accident before, and you report one now, Allstate says you should be ok in 2 months, without any treatment, BUT if you tell them that you have had an accident 2 years ago, they say, that they will not pay you, because your pain is from a previous accident... that's what they said to my friend. So in conclusion Allstate will always have an excuse not to pay the people. THIS IS MY VOICE. With Allstate YOU ARE NOT IN GOOD HANDS. NO... this is not a fake review. This IS actually the experience I had with them.

I have never in my life had a more horrible and stressful time with something. I was in an accident on March 10th, where I was rear ended by a guy who had no insurance and tried to leave the scene. Thank God for the guys who saw it and immediately pulled over to block him in. Anyway, I just got my car back YESTERDAY... May 5th... First of all, the car wasn't drivable and we made that very clear to Allstate when we set up the claim and gave them the location of where the vehicle was. Two weeks goes by and we called to check just to make sure everything was running smoothly because we hadn't heard back. The car hasn't been worked on because Allstate had it that the car was drivable and they were apparently waiting for US to send them pictures of the damage through an app?!?! They corrected it and said we should take it to an Allstate affiliate shop so the work is guaranteed so we tried to have that done.

Come to find out, a week later because no one from Allstate told us, we couldn't because there was a holding fee at the body shop and Allstate would have to pay to move it. They refused to pay it so the vehicle just sat there. The body shop guaranteed the work for as long as we own the vehicle. Great! Love it. So we kept it there. It then took Allstate just over a week to send an adjuster out to see the vehicle... Then after the teardown, there was more damage found. Which then took 4 more days for another adjuster to go out. The supplement was sent to Allstate right after the damage was found and before the 2nd adjuster came out. I called a week later to see if they approved it and they "claim" they never got it which is a load of b.s. The body shop resubmitted it and they mysteriously got it. Didn't approve it though until way after the adjuster was sent out. We waited for parts for a few days and it was painted and pretty much done.

We couldn't get the car however because Allstate mailed us a check for us to drive an hour away to the body shop to hand it to them... This may be a normal practice, but is a huge inconvenience. Oh, and the kicker? A day before we went to get the car, an Allstate Rep called to ask if we wanted to switch our claim from collision to uninsured motorist. Why didn't you ask when we filed the claim???? So it took damn near 2 months for me to get my car back because Allstate is horrible. There is no communication there what so ever. They are absolutely terrible. I am switching to State Farm and when I used them, I had zero problems.

Hit telephone pole when doe and two fawn stepped out in front of me on an unimproved rural road I live on while in Georgia. Allstate as here the next day and offered less than 1/2 of the value of the vehicle but only if I signed off right then and there. Pointed out that it was less than the "Fair Market Value" from Kelly Blue Book and was told they use JC Powers estimates. Pointed out also that Auto Trader's lowest price like vehicle was well over double what was be offered and then was told that is because "Auto Trader only works with dealers" which is BS because I currently have a vehicle listed on Auto Trader and purchased this vehicle from a private individual through Auto Trader.

They did though offer me credit of $300 for a lifetime warrantied transmission I had installed two years ago at a cost of $2,600. Understandably upset I let the adjuster know that perhaps this should be settle by the court of public opinion. Threatened by the adjuster that the corporation would squash me like a bug. Mailed letter to Tom Wilson yesterday, filed complaint with Georgia State Insurance Commission and will retain an attorney on Monday. 51 1/2 years as a customer without a claim or a ticket and I feel insulted. As far as I am concerned they terminated that relationship and will be replaced in the coming weeks.

Saturday December 30th, my car spun out of control on black ice. My car smashed into the median of a busy freeway in -25 degree weather. I called roadside assistance. After a lengthy call time and identity verification process, the operator stated she would have a tow sent to my aid after I gave her an address. The next 20 minutes were spent trying to explain to this operator where my car was located. She was unresponsive at times and was slow at identifying the landmarks given.

After far too long, she told me that a tow was ordered and I needed to sit tight. I requested updates by text. After 30 more minutes of being stuck in the middle of a freeway, no text was received and no tow was in sight. I called Allstate again. The operator wanted to verify my identity again but was unable to find my address for verification. After another verification ordeal, I asked for an update on the status of my tow. The operator informed me that no tow had been ordered.

She apologized for the inconvenience as I had to reorder a tow. She also had trouble locating my car and ordered the tow for a nearby hotel. At that time State troopers came to my car and asked me to get off the freeway. I told them I was waiting for a tow and did not want my car to be taken by a tow that would not be covered by my policy. The state patrol took down my information and assured me that my car would not be towed by another source as long as a tow was en route. 3 hours later, the tow Allstate ordered called me and stated they could not find my car. In the slow time it took them to respond, the police had used their towing contractor to take my car to a charge-by-the-day lot. I redialed Allstate’s helpline and requested that they send a tow to pick up my car before Chief’s Towing closed for the holiday weekend.

As I had been on the phone all day with Allstate, I requested that my tow be a priority. If Allstate had responded the way they claimed to, this $300 tow would not have happened and the $30/day fee would not have been inflicted on my car. Allstate was rigid, inefficient, and unresponsive to their own errors. Chief’s Towing closed before Allstate could respond and send a tow, thus incurring a $30/day fee onto my vehicle.

Since the weekend was three days long, I had to wait until Tuesday to call. I called Allstate and was on hold for 2 hours until I got through to an operator. Chief's Towing closed at 6 pm that day. I started that call at 3 pm. After 3 ID verifications, and explaining my situation to the Allstate staff member, I requested information on how to be fully reimbursed for the towing service. He stated Allstate would cover $250 dollars of my $400 dollar bill, a solution that I find is unreasonable and unacceptable as Allstate’s lack of services were the cause of this hefty fee. He stated a tow would be ordered for the following day to pick my car up from the lot and bring it to my home. I never got a text message update even though I requested it.

By Wednesday I had still have heard from the ordered tow. The Allstate staff member assured me the tow from Bobby and Steve’s would tow my vehicle first thing this morning. I assume that Allstate’s pitiable services have failed me for a 5th time and I will be left with an even higher bill to pay the lot that is holding my vehicle. I am very disgruntled at the lack of professionalism and competent service I have experienced from Allstate. I would recommend that all inquiring customers turn and run from this deplorable company. I would expect fair treatment and a full compensation for the hassle Allstate has caused me. What I have received is busy signals, incompetent staff, and slow services that never reach completion.

I am currently exploring ways to share my story with others seeking roadside assistance, and get the word out there that Allstate is falsely advertising services they are incapable of providing. It took me nearly a full week to finally get through to Allstate; a return on service that I find unacceptable. After everything was said and done, Allstate reimbursed $175 out of the $400 bill they directly caused.

Allstate is a greedy company that pressures claimants into accepting lowball settlements. On 10/23/17 my wife was involved in an accident in which she was not at fault. The details: My wife was making a left turn at an intersection on a green left arrow. An Allstate-insured driver, coming from the opposite direction, had a red light but decided to make a right turn on red into the intersection. This is a violation of the Pennsylvania Vehicle Code. The Allstate driver admitted to the police officer that it was entirely his fault. He stated he wasn't paying attention. The Allstate appraiser categorized the accident as a “right T-bone”. There was minimal damage to the Allstate driver's SUV, but $2108 of damage to our front passenger side door and some damage to the rear door. The front right side panel of our car was not damaged, nor was the right-side mirror. So you can see that my wife was well into her turn when she was struck.

We filed a liability claim with Allstate. Problem #1: During the telephone interview, the Allstate claims manager asked my wife when she first saw the Allstate driver's car. My wife answered she didn't see him coming until he struck her. That's because she was so far advanced into her turn that she was already looking down the lane into which she was turning. Based on the statement “didn't see him coming” the claims manager determined my wife was somehow 20% at fault. According to Allstate she should have been more aware when entering the intersection. Allstate attempted several times to get her to accept some responsibility. The manager repeated “I'm not authorized to offer you 100%”. What does that say about their tactics?

The claims manager was following a script. She was offering a lowball quote, no matter the facts. I drove our car to the garage and Allstate did a supplemental appraisal. After this was completed, the claims manager phoned one more time and stated she could only pay 80%. She reiterated that she wasn't authorized to offer 100%. I refused to compromise. End of conversation. The next day the AUTO BODY SHOP phoned to inform me that Allstate had DENIED my claim. I'm sure if I was financially distressed I would have caved in at this point. However I had sufficient funds to pay for the repair on a credit card. I did. Since I couldn't sue Allstate, I wrote a demand letter to the Allstate driver asking him to pay for the damages he caused. No response was received.

On 12/27/17 I proceeded to file a lawsuit in small-claims court. The hearing was on 2/26/18. Allstate instructed their insured to “no-show” because obviously his testimony would have detracted from Allstate's stance (i.e., he already had admitted his negligence to the police). Only the Allstate staff lawyer appeared to represent the driver. I prepared well, utilizing a layout of the intersection and 1:36 scale model cars. The cars were marked up with tape and coordinated with Allstate' s damage reports. I found it interesting that the Allstate lawyer used the term “comparative negligence” during the court hearing, yet this was a term the claims manager never used on the phone. In the end I won the judgment.

Problem #2: Judgment was rendered on 2/26/18. The defendant has 30 days to appeal or pay up. On day #30, 3/26/18, the last day allowed by law, Allstate finally paid the claim ($2108 damages + $142 court costs). What does this show? It's shows that Allstate is an INVESTMENT company that wants to DELAY, DENY, DEFEND making payments as long as possible to increase interest on its float. Allstate is an insurance company only secondarily and doesn't give a crap about fiduciary or indemnification principles- i.e., paying a claim promptly & at the full amount.

Avoid this company at all costs!!! Advise your friends to read these books: (1)Berardinelli's “From Good Hands to Boxing Gloves” and (2) Fineman's “Delay, Deny, Defend”. Above all, write your legislators to change the insurance laws. Insurance companies have federal anti-trust protection. But investment companies shouldn't receive this advantage! Also, state insurance laws are convoluted and easily ignored by the insurance cos.

On March 6, 2018, I was involved in my first accident. I have been an Allstate client for 27 years. No other claims other than a broken windshield. I feel the need to express my utter disappointment and complete dissatisfaction with the handling of my claim. Instead of just sending out an adjuster to assess the damage, they insisted on using a"virtual app" which did not work and took more time than necessary for my mechanic. We got to the point of damages at around $2000, with a couple of things still needing to be adjusted. Finally 11 days later they send out an adjuster who then decides my car is to be totaled instead of fixed. They valued my car at $1400. They over exaggerated the condition of my car and deducted $1600 from the value.

On top of that they tried to haggle with my mechanic about paying the storage fees. It is unbelievable to me the lengths that this company seems to be going to avoid paying a $3000 claim which is the least I deserve. My car could have been fixed for about $2500. It is amazing how my car was going to get fixed until an adjuster who didn't even understand the repairs the mechanic was going to do, who didn't know that having something fixed rather than being replaced would save money, and was rude to my mechanic and then to me on the phone decided she would save herself some time and total my car for far less than what it's worth. It is unbelievable to me what bad business this is. To screw a loyal 27 year client who's never had an accident out of being able to get her car fixed and then trying to hand her less than half of what the car is worth is just shady, greedy, and a terrible way to treat one of your best clients.

I never experienced such deceit, unprofessional, unfair practices from a claim against Allstate when I was hit by one of their drivers. They lied. Sent claim payout based on a few pictures for $700. I was embarrassed. They assured me it was a downpayment toward cost and it took a month after initial claim. I said ok. Well my estimate was over $4,000 from a shop they insisted I go through. Then they refused to accept it. Told that same shop to do it over. They came up with a new estimate $2000. Then without even telling me what it was they sent me $2000 check. I figured with the 700 and the 2000 I would accept then they stopped payment on 700. I was so furious. Unbelievable. I caught them lying to me and just being cold and blocking my emails.

You are not in good hands with Allstate. I have had two experiences with them one being a client and the other being hit by their client. In my opinion they would rather pay lawyers than take care of their clients. First when I was a client I had homeowners and full coverage on two vehicles. My wife was rear ended and when I called without even hearing the facts first sentence was, "We are not paying for that." After all the hassle they finally agreed to pay. When going thru the repairs the car needed a new rear bumper. The difference between a new and refurbished bumper was 2 dollars and they would not pay for the new one.

Luckily I only had the car for 6 months and the dealer stepped up and paid the difference. Second time my wife was T-boned and suffered injuries. They refused to pay anything. Fortunately I had Geico and they stepped in to pay her first 10,000 in medical. After 31/2 years of fighting with them their lawyers which are top of the line made sure they had to pay nothing. 50,000 in medical, loss of vehicle, and lots of aggravation. Allstate is good at collecting premiums but will not pay claims.

I was hit by a driver insured by Allstate. They accepted full liability for the accident. I handled the claim through them since they were liable. Most of the people I spoke with were nice for the most part until I had the opportunity to speak with Mr **. He was belligerent, belittling and downright mean and nasty. He made me feel backed into a corner left with no option but to accept what they were offering me and hand over the title to my car since it was a total loss. I felt helpless. I was threatened with “Big Corporate Lawyers” that would “defend him and then I could let him know how that worked for me.” We aren’t even talking about a new car or a large amount of money. I have never in my life had to deal with such a horrible person. No one should ever be treated so badly.

I had already been the one suffering the loss and strong arming me into submission was not acceptable. When I asked when I had to return the rental he nearly bit my head off. I was not asking for additional days for the rental. I was just asking when to return it so I didn’t get stuck with rental fees. I was not treated with any respect. I had to ask him to stop talking to me like he was and ask to be treated like a human. His behavior was appalling! He should be fired for his behavior. I have accepted the fact that my car is totaled and that they offered me enough money to literally buy a bicycle but I will not accept the was I was treated. His behavior gives the entire company a bad reputation. I do not suggest insuring your car with Allstate. If this is what you can expect stay away.

Anytime I have to interact with the corporate office, I get push back and unnecessary sass from their agents. I get told one thing with one agent, then another thing with a different agent. I pay out thousands to these people every year to be treated like this? Ridiculous. Elaine especially was just rude and unhelpful. But unfortunately you can't even complain about corporate to corporate. Putting a complaint in would reflect negatively on my home base insurance office, and they have been nothing but helpful and friendly. And that's the only reason it gets two stars. Otherwise, don't get Allstate!!!

Inside we have found our payment check and information that Allstate has terminated us! No any reasons, no any information. We have been for almost two weeks with no insurance in both cars! They have not send any e-mail or phone call. Nothing. This is THE MOST TERRIBLE INSURANCE IN THE WORLD! When I have recorded our conversation on the phone, I have informed them, and right away they shut down the phone! Nice. It should be re-named as a ALLPUPESTATES INSURANCE. I made a claim for my truck for hail damage that happened a while ago and I took my truck to a body shop to get a estimate. They looked everything over and the quote came up to $3400. We had a pretty heavy hail storm and left quite a few dents all over the truck. The body shop was very booked and told me it will be a while to get my truck in. I’m in the military so I actually was tasked to deploy when they said they can get me in. So I was going to take the money my insurance was going to pay out and wait till I get back to fix it. Well Allstate had other plans. They wanted me to do the quick claim photo for my truck and so I did that. They came back with a quote of $300 and my deductible was $500 so they are not going to pay out. How do you go from $3400 to $300? If the tables were turned they would sue for fraud. Thanks Allstate for treating your service members well and making sure they are taken care of before they deploy.

After insuring my home with Allstate for 19+years without a single claim, I decide to give Allstate the opportunity to insure my cars. For my three cars, all requiring full coverage, I pay over $6000. a year. For the house, I pay over $2,400 per year, so combined is almost $8500. for the year. BUT YOU NEVER REALLY KNOW YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY UNTIL YOU MAKE A CLAIM, they sold us a policy without car rental insurance. So after getting rear-ended by an uninsured motorist in a rental car, they say that we have to pay out of pocket! My wife spent 2 weeks trying to talk to anyone who would listen to our complaint, and we're still waiting for a callback from the Allstate rep. Damage to the car was also disputed by Allstate, they refuse to repair all the damage that was caused by the accident.

A real first for me! If a car hits your rear bumper, and crushes part of the rear quarter panel, they should fix it right? Not so with Allstate! No, that damage wasn't caused by the accident, they say. The bodyshop manager of 25 years, admitted that they were one of the worst to deal with, "They could give a ** about their customers, they will just sit the phone receiver on the desk as you complain about your service, and promise to call you back... but never do. They know that you will eventually get tired and give-up." Just thieves in a suit & tie... Never return your calls, or consider your concerns, or their obligations. Guess what Allstate? We can give our money to someone else! And we certainly will. Be careful that KARMA doesn't rear-end you.

Bill came in two months later for ambulance and they won’t pay because he didn’t say there was an ambulance that took him to the emergency room. Shouldn’t this be included in the long list of questions they ask? Horrible customer service. Horrible to take advantage of people.

Vehicle accident was other driver's fault. Allstate sent me a letter the next day stating it was 100% my fault. No investigation of the scene to check the cameras at the intersection. The "investigator" did not even know that the intersection was controlled by traffic lights. He was looking at old Google maps. Very efficient way of showing me at fault, when all they had were my telephonic statements. I got Allstate to show that the accident was not my fault after numerous phone calls and delay. They stated that they showed me only 49% at fault. Gee, thanks Allstate for stating 51% of the truth. They advised me to not complete a police report when the other driver would not cooperate with the police. Allstate told me they would handle the situation.

Allstate ultimately told me I was not covered by my policy. I was only covered if the accident was a "hit and run". Since he gave me his information at the accident scene, it was not a "hit and run". The other driver provided his information at the scene, admitted to me it was his fault, and even apologized to me. Later on his insurance denied my claim. Allstate would not pursue on my behalf. Thanks for saying you would represent me Allstate, and then not following through.

I got the same runaround as some other complaints I have read on this website. My agent actually told me it was "out of his hands", (the good hands people). He told me he had no input in the claims process and that I should be thankful that they showed me at 49% fault. I complained to my investigator's supervisor. Same delays and runaround. I complained to their website corporate contact. I was advised that they also have no input in the claims process, that they only "monitor" that someone from claims is contacting me.

Allstate does not notify you of the decisions they make. They are counting on the fact that you grow tired of the runaround. They do not try very hard at investigation either because it is to their benefit when they do not have to pay. Allstate screwed me on another accident claim 10 years ago, but by the time I was made aware of it (I thought my daughter was shown not at fault), it was several months later. They never called, or notified me in any way. That is their business tactic, stealthy delay and deny. I am done, a 30 year customer over and out. I once had an agent who took care of everything. But the last ten years, I have had two bad experiences and that is enough. They have cost me in the neighborhood of 5,000 to 9,000 dollars. I am switching to Mercury, I hope they are better. It is a shame that people are treated like this, does anyone at the leadership level care?

On Nov 30th Allstate insurance decided to stop paying the rental car without even informing me either by phone / email / letter. On Dec 10th I got my car back from repair shop and dropped rental car, then I learned the rental car company has already charged $450 from my credit card. Allstate is now denying to reimburse as they say it's not their policy to inform the victim about the cancellation of rental car. Neither the rental car company nor Allstate insurance informed me about the rental car cancellation. For no reason I am being penalized for the Allstate insurance ignorance. I seek justice and wish I been treated fairly as I was innocent in this situation.

I’m dealing with Allstate office at Stelton Road Piscataway New Jersey. They are not honest from what they said. The lady at the office told me if I pay at the time I will get the discount and the policy will start cover in next 7 days. I took a chance and bought my car insurance from them. The very next day I got the temporary card printed out show the cover start in 14 days (My old car insurance will expire in 7 days in this case. I will have no car insurance for 7 days until their cover kicks in.). Here is the hard part; I somehow found the better ins company so I called them back to cancel. The same lady in the office took my cancellation and said that I’ll get refund in 7-10 days.

Ten day passed I don’t see my $$. I called the office. Couldn’t talk to her. I left msg to somebody in the office ask her to call me back she never call back. Next two days I called again same thing happened I’d heard nothing from her. The third time finally she picked up the phone and she nicely asks if I can wait for a few more days. OK, I waited for few more days still don’t see my refund. I called her again and spoke to the gentleman who refuse to the put her on the phone to talked to me. Two days ago, I had to make a visit trip to their office and spoke to her face to face just want to know where my refund. She told me she don’t know what happens with my refund only the Agent who runs the office can look into problem but he is not in the office.

Today, I call to make sure the agent there before I come to the office, spoke to I guess the same gentleman who said the agent is not in the office. He nicely asked if he can help me, I told him the story that I’ve through. Here is a worse nightmare - he said wait for ten days, I told him 10 days had passed and I’ve been waiting for 25 days now and the conversation keep going circle just that. Funny thing though I was listening when he talked but when I talk he didn’t let me to. By the end he hung up on me and I still don’t know where my refund of $537.00. The lady name by Robin and the gentleman is CJ —SO BE AWARE!!!

After a detailed description of the hit and run and color photos, an adjustor completely misunderstood what happened, and he maintained his erroneous notions even after we had another detailed discussion. He claimed my car was hit on the left rear, when it was the right, that the damage he saw on the right was prior, failed to see the finish on the bumper required repainting, insisted my car was silver when it was gold, and essentially only allowed a cracked rear backup lens to be paid for. He constructed a scenario for which there was no evidence, in contrast to what there actually was on the photos. I suspect this was because I was emphatic about not going to their own body repair shop. Thumbs down. Avoid Allstate-you are definitely NOT in good hands. I will leave them after this is over.

I was hit by an Allstate customer who tore the bumper off my car. It took Allstate 15 days to accept liability for this accident and only after I provided the police report myself. They refused to give me a rental car until day 16 and my car should not have been on the road. Finally they gave me a car and my car went to the shop. After 3 days they canceled the rental. They had not even looked at my car. Allstate provide an estimate of used bumper for about $500. They did not use new parts nor did they include all the other damage. The real estimate came out to be over $5000. So a few days later they again cancel the rental without notifying me. I found out when I got my credit card bill. I immediately called Allstate where I was given the runaround for days and then they put the blame on the shop.

I talked to the shop repeatedly and Allstate kept blaming them for not fixing the car. Well, you can't fix the car until you get authorization to order the parts and you need to get the parts in. Some were delayed. Allstate was informed about this. Today I got my car back. But Allstate still has not taken responsibility for the rental... So the rental is sitting at the shop. If they don't fix this today... It may turn into a lawsuit. Stupid but true. I should not have been treated as a second class stupid person because I was a claimant against one of their insured. The service was horrible. Use your own insurance to sue Allstate if you are even involved in an accident as a claimant.

I had a small accident on Jan 25th and when I called my insurance company they said my car was still under suspension. I just lost my husband on Dec 18th so I doubted that I had done the right thing about reinstating my RAV4, but I later found my evidence of calling in 9/20/2017 and spoke to Susan to reinstate my Rav4 and suspended my 2003 Honda (which I store in Maine), and change my address. I went to see my agent David ** in person and he told me he is an agent and can only explain my policy, but cannot get involved in claims. I was shocked. I explained to him that I had done this for 20 years, could he help me. He just crossed his arms and said "did I have any questions on my policy"? I repeated that I have done this for 20 years. He just kept repeating the same thing over and over.

I asked him to please help me with this claim, and showed him the claim number and the phone number of the claim adjuster I had spoken to, and he dialed the number and handed me the phone across his desk. I hung up the phone and he repeated "did I have any questions on my policy". I said "No" and got up to leave and he said "be sure to call me if you have questions on your policy" as I was walking out the door. When I got home I called another agent of Allstate and switched agents. I am now responsible for my own damage and the rental car for over a week. I am still stunned that I could not get my agent to vouch for me for paying premiums for 20 years and he would not help me in any way.

I picked up my car with damages for $1625 and $270.85 for the rental. I still have no idea what I did wrong??? I am so grateful that it was not a serious accident. Please help me. I am 76 years old and just lost my husband and I know this is wrong, but no one is listening to me. I have always paid my insurance premiums on time for twenty years. My policy #**. I believe the agent should be reprimanded severely. He is not doing a good job of representing the company. As a good customer I deserved better more consideration.
