They have always been very kind to me. They have saved me money and even talk to me about life if I bring it up. They are good agents and good friends. They have never raised my rates, flim-flammed, money-grubbed or tried to trick me. I appreciate them and that I can get more than one kind of insurance through them.

Let me start my story with the fact that I’m pretty new to this country and also driving as an activity, and back in the day, knowing that my first year of driving couldn’t possibly be accident free, I fully insured my car with some insurance company. I bought my vehicle in cash, so I didn’t really have to have the full coverage, but I was 100% sure that down the road somebody will have to pay for the repair of my car and I did not want that somebody to be me. I ‘successfully’ ended up having two accidents within one year, which resulted in cost of my insurance increase four-fold.

Following some smart peoples’ advice I decided to shop around and eventually got insured by Allstate since their price was very reasonable considering my not so reasonable driving record. This time I only got liability and uninsured driver coverages. I have been a customer of theirs for two years now and life has been kind to me and luckily I did not have any accidents within these two years. The only good thing I can say about being insured by Allstate is that every half a year I was pleasantly surprised that my insurance went down every time, I guess it had something to do with me becoming friends with my car and not letting any more accidents happen. Now let me start complaining here. “Allstate – You’re in good hands!” – that’s their brand statement if you didn’t know. But why do I constantly get a feeling that I’m not in GOOD hands, but GREEDY hands?!

My first surprise happened when Allstate was not able to pull my Texas driver record when I first got insured with them and already paid my premium in full. Doesn’t it seem logical that the company should have asked me to provide the document? Not to the “Greedy Hands”! Why bother? They just sent me a bill saying that I owe them 200 bucks! I faxed them a copy of my driver record and God was I smart to keep the fax confirmation cover! Cause guess what? After receiving my file they just didn’t update their records. Yes, they did find the document among their pile of faxes when I presented them my fax confirmation letter, but then they still asked me to upload it online if I didn’t mind. I did mind of course, but did not want to pay the $200, so I did as I was told and haven’t heard from them for about a year.

Unfortunately, as I grew into being a Texan and the idea of ‘Everything is bigger in Texas’, eventually I decided to move out of my small place into a bigger apartment. And again, the “Greedy Hands” did not fail to keep me entertained! I received a letter today, saying that some mysterious Corey and Chelsea (‘who are of driving age’ as was clearly stated) reside in my household! And no worries, they got me covered! I don’t have to do anything, they will have Corey and Chelsea added to my insurance policy within 30 days! And I betcha they will send me a new bill for ** amount of dollars!

Jeez! Since I moved in I did receive mail for previous tenants. And I did see at least three different names in the addressee section of the envelopes. But I’ve never seen anything addressed to Corey or Chelsea (which are of driving age apparently)! How did you even come up with these names, people from “Greedy Hands”? Does Russian name Tatiana sounds to you like I might be related by blood to Corey and Chelsea?! You were so awesome to find out the non-existing people live in my household, but it never occurred to you to compare the last names, or the validity of your records? Why do I always have to fight with you and prove that I do not owe you anything?! God forbid I get hit by an uninsured driver someday... Why do I have this feeling that I will never get a penny from you? Why “Greedy Hands”? Why?!

Very helpful. Anytime I have a problem they fix it promptly. The payment monthly isn't expensive. Once I had a car wreck into my parked car and they was out the same day, took the report for the incident and had me in a rental car within hours and my car was fixed by the end of the week. Greatest company I've ever dealt with.

They are very quick to respond when an accident occurs or when there are claims involved. Although, pricing could be adjusted. It seems that our auto insurance goes up a bunch and not gradually. I've had Allstate for 4 years and it went up $100 per car within that four years. I personally believe that is too much especially for us being with them for quite some time. I feel like we never even got a discount of some sort, like getting rewards for being a good driver. I've never gotten one of those before.

Absolutely terrible experience. My vehicle was totaled by another driver at no fault of my own. However State Farm his insurance agency was willing to offer me $46,001.15 with no bed liner add or navigation add. Now come to find out they had a limits issue - due to the limits issue we had to go through our insurance. Now my own insurance that I pay for every month never miss a payment is trying to screw me. And not offer me near the same amount of money. I find this to be disloyal and dishonest. Regardless if I bought my vehicle for the market bears for more than they offered me. We pay for full coverage on one of our vehicles. When we went in to claim a sand damage claim they approved but when it went into the shop someone from the company went to do some kind of inspection. He made his own estimate to which the shop had nothing to do with. Then agent then gave us two options, either we cancel our claim or we sell Allstate our BMW which was in perfect condition with low miles at a very very cheap price. So they technically held our car hostage from us for nearly a month until we had to cancel our claim. The agent considered it a total loss claiming it cost too much to repaint the car.

That lady who hit me on back trying to text to some one, base of what she told me and admit the fault. However I did next day call all state claim. They never call me back for 10 days. After so many calls someone call me. Claimed that it was my fault, that I back up to their insured. So I send the copy of conversation to claim adjuster and three way phone call to their insured. They refuse to take care of claim. However I had no choice than file the small court claim.

And since they were not responding to any of my contact I got reward by court for full amount of repair, and also their insured was shocked by claim department action. So after 3 months of trying to get paid what they damaged I received the check for half of judgment and I had to go to court to get the remaining balance. To tell you the truth all state's way to handle the claim is very bad and insulting people is their policy. They train them to be like this and they are just getting worst. This is experience of a lot of people but just one at the time. Maybe department of insurance take a action about this. We were traveling on interstate in NC mountains when our 19 Foot RV trailer blew a tire on the traffic side. When we called AARP Allstate emergency call center we spent 30 frustrating minutes trying to explain to the operator what happened and what we needed. The operator did not speak English very well. We couldn't understand her and she couldn't understand us. She didn't understand what our 19 Foot RV trailer was. She thought we were an 18 wheel trucker.

Finally we hung up and remembered we had Chrysler auto call on demand for emergencies. We got an operator in minutes who called police department to help keep us from being hit by being so close to speeding traffic and a repair truck within another 30 mins that changed our blown tire. We were so happy. We called to cancel AARP Allstate the next day but we got another operator who again could not understand what we were saying. Finally she understood and canceled our service with them.

I work at a federal agency and am responsible for the fleet. I've dealt with various insurance companies, but only had problems with one: Allstate. Typically, it's been easy to determine who was at fault in accidents. When it's our fault, we pay the insurer/driver, when it's the other driver's fault, their insurer pays. This was never the case with Allstate. In the worst case, where their driver backed up the wrong way down an aisle in a long parking lot and hit our parked vehicle, Allstate refused to pay and actually tried to make us (taxpayers, including you and even themselves) pay for the damage caused by their driver. They no doubt wished to exploit the fact that we're self-insured and can't depend on full-time claims examiners to assist with accident cases.

We ended up going to small claims court where a (substitute) judge ruled they were 75% responsible for the damage. The bottom line is, this is a company that's still stuck in 70's mode expecting the taxpayers to pay, for example, $500 dollars for a box of screws, or $1,000 for toilet seats. I got something in the (personal) mail today asking me to sign up with them, and it brought back this memory from last year. Sorry Allstate, I think you're a disgusting company and am apparently already sending you money via my taxes. I won't be sending anything else.

A woman had begun to participate in road rage against me and my children after I had exited a ramp from one highway and got on another. At first she just kept at pace with me while driving and was flipping me off, for my children to witness. If I slowed down, she slowed down, and if I sped up, she sped up. The woman had already displayed she lost her self control and that she had no regard for the children in my vehicle. While driving along side of me she had started inching her vehicle closer to my van, all while still flipping me off.

When I noticed she was close to running me off the road, I veered left to avoid contact and then corrected my van. I managed to stay in my own lane and though my van rocked like a boat for a few seconds, I did not flip it. When I looked into my rearview mirror to see where the woman was, I had noticed that while she was flipping me off, and inching towards me my reaction caused her to lose control of her vehicle and she had veered off the highway and ran into the poles that lined the gravel on the side of it. I did not stop my vehicle because the woman had already displayed no regard for the life of my children and had tried to force me off the road, but had went off the road instead.

There was no damage to my vehicle and no signs of paint exchange, yet the officer who called me had instantly accused me of leaving the scene of an accident. When I explained what happened and why I didn't stop, I WAS NOT ISSUED ANY CITATIONS, but the woman had made a claim with ALLSTATE and they told me that they were just going to award the claim even though she had caused her own vehicle to veer off the road. I immediately changed insurance companies, but not without facing the consequences of a record of a claim because of their own laziness and lack of defense for good drivers!

I have been insured by Allstate for each car I've owned since I got my license at age 16, which equates to the past 12 years. Until this past November, I have had less than a handful of claims throughout that time. I park my car in a vicious parking lot for work, and had pretty significant damage done to my Mercedes while parked and inside working. Obviously I was found not at fault, and because of the location of the damage, I was told to file two separate claims. The car was fixed and reimbursed, no problem.

Fast forward to last month, August, when I was headed to NYC for the night, I got blatantly rear-ended by a lady at a stop light. The lady was irate, even though she had just slammed into me, and insisted on us both calling our insurance companies on the spot or she would call the police. Even though she already ruined my trip, I still had a time constraint for being in NYC, and did not want to have to deal with police and waiting, so I agreed. However, we both agreed that I was not at fault.

I later called Allstate again to cancel the claim because I proceeded to go through her insurance. Here we are in September, and it looks like that phone call cost me my coverage. I received a notice in the mail that I was being dropped after 12 loyal years for 3 "Not At Fault" claims. Could someone please tell me how this is acceptable? Isn't this what car insurance is for? Protecting you when other drivers screw up? Turns out there's no room for discussion, and now I'm back out in the playground for car insurance shopping.

I had been in the easy pay program for just over 2 years when I got out of it and wanted to make my payment on my own as I sometimes pay my bills early when I have the opportunity. When I got out of the program, I called the customer service desk and was not told about the increase that would occur. My bill for October went up to $339 from $113, so I was quite shocked. I call Allstate and got 4-5 different answers as to why it went up. The last conversation I was told it was because I was billed in the rears because this is how it is for auto pay. In addition, I had to pay the first and last months’ billing. So, now I am ahead by 3-4 months which really does not may since. They want me to pay $339, but my total bill is $439.

I explained that I only had 1 income and asked if I was placed back on easy pay, was there a way to spread the payments out. I was told no. I do not believe in that as people are able to manipulate their systems to correct issues. I should have been given the chance since I was not told it would go up. Had I known it, I would not have gotten out of it. I am all about saving money. I am beyond frustrated. I would cancel my policy, however, they are the cheapest for the coverage I have. I cannot skimp out on insurance because CA drivers are reckless and I would hate to have an accident and not have coverage. If you can afford to go somewhere else, go. If not, please get all of the hidden details upfront and ask lots of what if questions. As of now, they are not able to place me back on auto pay until the bill is paid.

It took 5 phone calls and 4 reps to get to a supervisor. I was hung up on 2 times unexpectedly after asking to speak to a supervisor. The reps I spoke with were all a bunch of stupid, mean, rude, inconsiderate, dumb, useless, incompetent, uneducated, idiotic, imbecilic, moronic, ignorant, illiterate, lowbrow, uneducated, uninformed, unintellectual, untaught, unthinking; absurd, asinine, balmy, cockeyed, crackpot, crazy, cuckoo, daffy, daft, dippy, dotty, feather-headed, fool, half-baked, harebrained, insane, bunch of people!!!

After 2.5 hours on the phone and feeling frustrated and on the verge of tears, I finally got the right answer from a supervisor. I was extremely patient and never rude or unreasonable to any of the reps. I will be canceling all my policies first thing tomorrow!!!

While no tickets were issued to us, the driver that struck our vehicle was ticketed and our car was totaled. The initial response from Allstate was that the vehicle was not repairable and a check for 1785.00 would be issued. Two weeks later still no check was received and when we called there was a new claims rep that stated they had not determined fault or seen police reports or witness statements. When the towing company was contacted they stated that the vehicle was still incurring storage charges and Allstate said it was not their responsibility and after reading online reviews this seems to be a common practice with Allstate. This whole process has been stressful knowing that Allstate and the other company are doing everything possible to nitpick a few dollars. My experience with Allstate has been one of the worst experiences in my life. So the good hands of Allstate was not extended to me. In my situation Allstate has done everything to prevent me from moving forward. Prior to my auto accident I was diagnosed with a condition known as CRPS aka RSD. CRPS aka RSD is the worst form of chronic pain that exist today. On 9/16/11 as I was coming home from work I was involved in a car accident which resulted in amplified pain, which I didn't think was possible. The pain was no longer just in my left wrist and hand, it had traveled to my arm, shoulder, back and arm; and the pain increased tenfold; I was suffering extreme swelling and stiffness.

UNFORTUNATELY after the accident I was unable to return to my position as a Government Rebate Analyst at Bayer Healthcare Pharmaceutical and haven't worked since the accident. I am currently on SSDI and my mobility is very limited. Because medication alone could not manage my pain I had to have a Neurostimulator implanted in my back, in addition to Ketamine Infusion Therapy which nearly cost me my life. At times I get depressed because the pain is so intense, I find myself hiding in my bedroom in fear that someone will accidentally touch me or ashamed because my hands don't cooperate with me and at times I have difficulty walking. It's true I had the condition prior to the accident but the bottom line is that the accident made my condition worse and since the accident I haven't been able to work!

Due to accident I lost my job, had to do a short sale on my home, had to relocate to Florida from NJ because the cold weather is difficult to withstand with my condition. This is the result of RSD; your bones darken, your limbs swell and the pain is unbearable! Not only did I lose my job, Bayer Healthcare Pharmaceutical denied my long term disability because their physician finds that I can work, REALLY!! Then to add insult to injury Allstate's attorney had me come from Florida up to NJ for a deposition; Allstate's attorney was not prepared and I paid for a trip I couldn't afford; in addition to the fact that it was physically difficult for me.

When the case went to mediation the mediator told Allstate to pay me $150,000.00 which Allstate is appealing. Allstate has offered $75,000.00, it has been almost 4 years and I'm sure Allstate legal fee probably exceed what I was suing for. In addition, Allstate's attorney told me to get a job as a door greeter at Walmart, VERY COMPASSIONATE! I currently collect from SSDI less than 50% of what I was making at Bayer Healthcare Pharmaceuticals!! The picture of my hand reflects what it looks like today 4 years after the accident!

I had just gotten it back 3 months prior to the accident where I had body work and a new paint job done. I had people approaching me if I wanted to sell it; estimated amount offered would have been in the $3,000 - $4,000 range. Amount to repair the cosmetic damage was $1,540. Their claims department came back with $1,195 offer as my car was not worth the amount to repair it, and if I did not accept it, they would put a salvage title on my car. I asked for the three cars they used to value my car. It turns out they could not find a 1989 Honda Civic SI model, as they are hard to come by. They found 3 rust bucket DX models.

When I looked for a SI model, I finally found one for $4,500. I checked what the average value of a 1989 Honda Civic SI model on the internet was $3,500, and only if you could find one for sale. I took the check without signing anything. Took person who hit me to court for the difference, which I got, and Allstate made good on their threat to place a salvage title on my car based on their value of my car. Now I have to turn in my license plates for new ones, and pay out money for a safety check. Thanks Allstate. I will be sure to recommend you (NOT). And by the way, they doubled the premium on the person who hit my car, and she went shopping elsewhere for Auto insurance, plus the fact that we both had to take time to go to court, for a simple claim difference of $340. It's just part of their policy to do this kind of thing.

I am not an Allstate customer, but I did have a situation arise where I was hit from behind by someone that has Allstate insurance. They were at fault, and I took my car to a satellite office to assess the damage. They said it was the bumper cover that needed repair (it was cracked). So I took it to a body shop and they took a look. He said that would be fine, but if there were damage that was not visible, he could take care of that with Allstate. Fine. So he called the authorized Allstate place to look into the bumper cover. This was on a Friday. My appointment was to take it in first thing Monday morning. He said he called them on Friday and asked if they had the cover. Yes, they said they did. The body shop said fine, he wanted them to save it until Monday morning after I dropped the car off. At that time he would order it and he would have it Monday or Tuesday at the latest.

I suspect he didn't order it right then because what would happen if I didn't keep the appointment for whatever reason. He doesn't want the part sitting around waiting for me. All this sounded reasonable. So I took my car to him Monday morning, and when he called to get the part, they said oops - they didn't have one. What the???? There was more damage, and he would have to have the car an additional 2 days. In theory, the parts place said he would have the part by Thursday. So I called Allstate and asked if I could get an extension on the rental car. (I only had the rental for Monday and Tuesday, based on the parts place having the bumper in stock.) They said yes. So what happens? He didn't get the part until Friday, and the car would be finished by Saturday.

When I called Allstate to ask them if they would cover the additional 2 days, I had someone call me back and leave me a message. It appeared to me that he took great pleasure in denying my extension, and he was reading from a script. He spoke so fast I couldn't hardly understand him. When I called back, I was told the reason why they weren't extending it because the body shop should have "pre-ordered" the part. Huh? He called. The place said they had it. He said he would call Monday after getting the car to get it. If he was told they had the part on Friday, and he said he wanted it, I would have thought the parts place would have put it on hold. I have no idea what happened. I cannot, for the life of me, imagine one particular place having a bumper cover for a 2011 Toyota Corolla on Friday and then selling it on Monday. It sure sounds to me like the parts place really didn't have the part in the first place.

I would contend that they are the ones responsible for the extension of the repair work. The additional work isn't what held up the repair. The upshot is I was hit by someone - not my fault. And I have to pay for 2 extra days rental to Enterprise. That seems so unfair. It's not so much the money - the rate was only $23 a day, so I'm only out $46. It's the way it was handled. I know Allstate is a big company, but seriously - $46???

It is more than the money. It's the way the whole thing was handled by Allstate. Your rental department dropped the ball on this one. My body shop guy said the Allstate guy was very confused, because when they called him after I had pleaded with the Allstate agent for the extension, that he had a hard time differentiating between the original estimate and the supplemental estimate. My belief is the Allstate agent thought that was the first time he ordered the part. I don't know. I am not an expert. But again, the end result is I have to give Allstate negative feedback because of this whole thing. For $46. Sad. I'm very disappointed in Allstate.

Please note: I have never paid late, filed a claim, or given them anything other than timely payment of premiums.

Today when asked for my policy number for the 4th time, I commented that I found it strange that I had to keep repeating myself. The representative said "Let me ask you, how long you been an Allstate customer?" I replied "A long time." Her reply, "Then you BEST KNOW we GONNA ASK you for your policy number." Seriously, are you kidding me? They mentioned these calls are taped for QC purposes. Someone please review the tape.

The most unfair and the worst customer services. Allstate is the worst insurance company that I and my family had dealt with. Unfortunately, my husband had a car accident in which somebody crashed my husband's car twice on the back. The car got tremendous damage and my husband got injured. He tries several times to contact the insurance (Allstate) and they never give my husband an appropriated customers service. They were keeping my husband back forward with a big pain in the neck, arm and his chest.

He was trying to see if they pay for his medical bills and also for the damages of his car, but the communication never was possible. My husband decided to hire an attorney's firm for the case. After that we heard from Allstate insurance and they were from the bad to the worst because they send an appraiser to give us a quotation for my husband Honda Accord 2001. They do not want to fix the car and on top of that they want to pay for the car $1003.00 and take the car with them. This is totally unfair because my husband paid $5,700 seven month ago for the car. We all know that is difficult to find a good transportation with $1,003.00. Allstate Insurance Company is not a good option to do business.

She is a waitress and may have several more months off work. She may never be able to go back to work as a waitress. The driver who hit her was insured by Allstate and it has been an absolute nightmare for her dealing with them. It's now July 17 and she has only received lost wages for the month of May. They still owe her lost wages for the months of June & July. She is lucky she lives with a friend or she would be out living in the streets.

Her lawyer is as bad as the insurance company. She has to deal with a paralegal who just sits and does nothing. She should be getting $$ every week but getting money from Allstate is a nightmare for her. Anyone insured by Allstate should be aware of the tactics they pull on the injured party should you be responsible for that persons injuries. You are paying insurance for your own protection should something happen but they aren't taking care of the person who was the injured party. They don't care as long as you keep paying your premiums and they want those $$ to stay in their pocket.

I have been with this office for at least 8 years with no problems. The office staff is very nice but when it came to a fender bender last year I was treated very poorly along with raising my premium every month from $72.00 to $119.00 with a $1,000.00 deductible and I am a 52 yr old woman. I was outraged to say the least. So I decided to change to State Farm and even with the fender bender my rate went down to $83.00 a month which was a tremendous discount along with just a $250.00 deductible. Now for the "BE AWARE" part. My monthly rate was taken out every 15th of the month which that is when I thought I had to cancel my account by. NOT SO! Eric **'s company never told me that my monthly premium was from the first of the month to the last of the month even though they took the money out of my account on the 15th. So... When I canceled my insurance policy on the 2nd of the month I received a bill for $52 or so from Allstate.

When I called to ask them what this was for, because I canceled my policy on the 2nd I should not owe anything. Eric ** stated he would look into it and get back with me. Well, they never got back to me. So, I thought everything was taken care of until two days ago when I heard from a collections agency requesting payment. This is such horrible customer service along with outrageous charges and being mislead. So... I am warning everyone out there to please do not sign up with Allstate with Eric **. I felt I was deceived when he never told me when my month to month policy was really active. If I would have known that my policy was to be canceled before the end of the month I would have certainly done so. I am also outraged, by Eric ** sending me to collection without an explanation.

And finally, when I found out from my mechanic that Allstate was the worst auto insurance to deal with on my mechanics part. I realized my mechanic was telling the truth after I found that the grill in the front of my car was rusting after 2 months it was installed after my fender bender. That's when the mechanic stated that Allstate did not approve of GM parts. They only approve of aftermarket value parts to save money. Thank god for the great job of my mechanic when they ordered the correct part and did not charge me extra. SO, PLEASE, PLEASE!!!! Do not be taken advantaged by this Auto Insurance like I have been.

Allstate was our insurance company for home and auto for many years. We discovered we could get the same coverage for a lot less with Travelers. We notified our agent and there were several conversations about this with attempts to get us to stay with Allstate. Eventually we told the agent we were discontinuing both policies. But Allstate continues to send us bills for the auto coverage, stating our policy is being cancelled for non-payment, but the notices also state we can pay up to keep the policy active if we pay by a certain date. This date keeps slipping.

I wrote to them stating the policy was cancelled and told them to not send additional notices. That did not good. The most recent letter dated July 1, 2015, states to terminate the policy we have to go to our former agent with proof of our new insurance and they will cancel our policy. I would not recommend anyone do business with Allstate regarding any insurance.

I've had Allstate since 2009. The first agent would never respond to me to deal with problems, but was all over me when they wanted a glowing review of their agency. I dropped them. The kids they have answering the phones (who claim to be licensed insurance agents) have no clue what they're doing. Went to an agency in Cape Coral. When it was sold, the information was kept secret. When I complained, I had a nasty, nasty response from the new owner. Recently, I got a new bill for a 6-month policy with a $60 increase for no apparent reason. I called Allstate and asked why the increase. The response: "Because we can." Apparently, the bought-and-paid-for insurance commission gave them the go-ahead.

I shopped for new insurance immediately, and got a quote from GEICO for $45 LESS than Allstate, with more coverage! When I called Allstate back, I informed them of the switch. They would not let me cancel the policy until the actual changeover date. They did suspend the payment, but NEVER told me I would have to make at least the first month's payment to have coverage for those 3 days in July when I needed to be on the old Allstate policy. They deliberately, with evil intent, withheld critical information. The supervisor was to call me back with an explanation. Never happened. This company and its agents is so dishonest, it is appalling. Their goal in life is to gouge as much money with as little service as possible.

I am a long-term customer of Allstate, and I recently added a second car on my plan. (I have a bundle with home insurance as well.) Two months after I did this, my "new" car was stolen while I was out of the country for 2 weeks. I called immediately after I returned to the states. A claim was quickly opened, but the overall service took about 4 months to settle. We were in limbo for a while; we didn't hear from anyone at Allstate. Allstate finally sent a letter asking for more information. The "investigator" wanted my acquaintances contact info, phone call and text logs (which we can't get without a warrant), and various other things an "investigator" should be doing on their end. We gave them all the info as requested, then they sent a second letter asking for the same info. We gave them the police report number and the detective's contact info, but they wouldn't call them.

Then months later we get a settlement amount of almost 50% less than what we'd expected. Thinking we'd cash out and cancel, we received another letter that we had to purchase a car of comparable value... and who determines what is considered comparable? Anyways, I am extremely upset with how long it all took, how we were treated during the process, and overall lack of communication. My rep is amazing, but the claim process is a joke. I wouldn't recommend this company.

Rental company contacted me after 3 days saying they didn't receive extension. I called Allstate and they said they are not going to pay more because it took longer than their estimate. It appeared to be body shop didn't start work until after 3 days. Allstate claim that I should be driving my damaged car around until body shop contact me to say that they are ready to fix my car.

I am not saying body shop doesn't have responsibilities in this matter. But Allstate is like they are out of everything and not paying and not even tried to contact me to let me know. Everything is what they say. If I have responsibility to make sure that body shop finish their work within 3 days (I don't even know how am I going to do that), how about Allstate's responsibility to make sure body shop doing their work?

People from Allstate were also very rude. One Allstate person called me 3 days after I dropped my car to body shop. That person was yelling at me about why it took long to repair. However, even with this phone call, he didn't say anything about stop payment. They suggested that I should go after the body shop, such as I was not supposed to give the check to body shop and should let them pay part of the rental expenses. Overall, the whole thing, I don't get it. Allstate customer hit my car from the back and was her fault. She slowed down to between twenty and twenty-five and looked, but failed to see the other driver who was coming from her left and not yielding. They collided in the intersection. Oregon law states that a person going at an "unlawful rate of speed" forfeits right-of-way. My daughter was not going at an "unlawful rate of speed", but Allstate is choosing to say that she was driving too fast and therefore they will only pay 60% of the claim.

Number one, there is no way her speed can definitely be ascertained. (She was estimating based on the fact that she assumes the unposted residential area is 25 mph, and she knows she braked when she approached the intersection.) Police were called but declined to come out to the accident site. Number two, Oregon law, unlike some other states, does not specify a rate at which a person should proceed through an uncontrolled intersection. Does Allstate get to create its own self-serving statutes? Really??? She is also being told by her insurance company (Progressive) that they will take no stand in the matter because they have no financial stake (she only carried liability), and are advising her that her only recourse is small claims court. This is outrageous! I certainly will not be speaking highly of Allstate in the future.

STAY AWAY. There's a reason we feel wary of going with insurers that aren't big names. This company is a scam, they will withhold or take your money for the most spurious reasons. Here's my experience: I had a policy out with you with my previous car that I acquired through my mum's company car allowance via her job. It was a 6 month lease and to insure it cost me over 800, which I paid for upfront when I took out the policy.

I phoned last week when I received my new car (the 6 months was up), and was initially told it would cost an extra 500+ to change the car on the policy. This, as over half of what I had already paid for 12 months, was unacceptable to me and I was told that after a discussion with the underwriters someone would get back to me before 10:30 am the next day.

I received no phone call and so had to chase things up myself, it was then that I was told that in fact the car was uninsurable. The reason for which was given as the lease on the car only being for 6 months. As you can imagine I found this pretty ridiculous because the last car on my policy was also a 6 month lease. When I said this I was told that that shouldn't have been allowed to happen. So, someone somewhere made a mistake when I initially took out the policy and several have been made since.

I was told as the car was uninsurable I would need to cancel my policy- an inconvenience, but okay. I asked when I could expect to receive the half of the 800+ that I paid when I took out the insurance (as it was a 12 month policy and I had only had my car for 6 months) where I was informed I could only expect to receive 200 back. This I found a disgrace but I was on a train at the time so said not to take any action for now as I would need to speak to someone else the next day.

When I phoned back, I spoke to first a member of inbound staff who repeated the same thing to me, and then a manager who was similarly unhelpful. I think it is outrageous that they feel it is acceptable to take 200+ of my money for no justifiable reason whatsoever. I understand I cancelled my policy early but that had never been my intention, it was THEM who told me they would not insure my new car- for the reason that it was a 6 month lease. Which had been the case with my previous car... laughable!

I feel this is discriminatory against people paying annually in full, and encourages people to pay unnecessary interest for fear of ludicrous withholding of money already paid upfront in the event that they need to cancel. I am a student and do not have money to spare- as I am sure no one does. If you want what you pay for and don't want to give your money away- pick a different insurer!

My wife calls 911 on our cell phone. The other driver says he's sorry it was all his fault and I agree.

The police showed up. I tell the officer the same story. The other driver tells his story. The officer walks back to my vehicle and tells me he will be writing a ticket to the other driver, careless or reckless I don't remember which. I have the officer's name, and troop location, and all the other important information. Allstate sent an adjuster out the next week to my work location. Adjuster says shouldn't be any problem that he sees and here I sit with a damaged vehicle that will not go through inspection until the repair is made. 9 months plus all the countless Allstate insurance phone calls made to finalize this claim. I just want my car fixed. What's the problem?

I feel like they have asked me to jump through hoops in order to keep the money longer. I started out calling the local agent and got hung up on by the receptionist when I questioned the process. I then called the national CS line. After 2 months of getting nowhere, I had to get my lawyer involved. It took 2 phone calls today to find out the policy was cancelled a month later than I originally requested it to be. All over about $250. I got sucked into the vortex of bureaucracy!

First of all, their scheme is to sign you up with all of these supposed discounts. Act all friendly and then never answer your phone calls after that. Then if there is ANY accident, even if it's not your fault, the premium get's jacked up. Mine went from 3000 every six months (there are three on my acct) to $4600! That's three thousand dollars more a year for me damaging my own car but no one else was involved. I paid the deductible. This was the worst though. I hadn't received my new ins cards or any mail from Allstate so I called them. They said I had been CANCELLED since February for non-payment! WHAT? I had my payments auto debited from my bank acct so as not to miss a payment.

Apparently my acct was short about $50 in December so they did not count that payment and then recorded it as a non-payment. Worse yet, they never attempted to take out ANY payments after that. No phone call, nothing from the office letting me know this. The office lied and told me that they sent me emails and snail mail regarding this. When I looked at my emails there were NONE. They then admitted that there weren't any emails sent, but kept insisting that they sent snail mail. I did not get anything.. If they lied about the emails, what's to say they weren't lying about the SNAIL MAIL??? They are FRAUDS and have TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Was told by new company that first company did such a bad job that cause rust and body damage. Reported to Allstate who said I request a company that was out of their network to replace my windshield. First company, is two hours away from where I live and an hour from where I work. I do not know anyone in windshield business so would never have requested a company from another state and hours away from where I live and work. So requested tapes or verification that I was either told or requested a company outside their network.

Allstate could not supply any recording or claim info since they changed vendors. Windshield company is out of business and Allstate will not cover damage. Finding out now that they change vendors frequently and destroy all recordings after one year. Burden of proof falls on insured and nothing you can supply is sufficient. Now I find out new company that did windshield is also outside network. Agent says Allstate or he would never send me to a company outside network, yet here I am in the exact same situation. Agent is talking out of both sides of mouth and claims wont help. Nothing but lies, lies, and more lies. My (personal) lawyer, after almost a year from the accident, after a lot of negotiation with the other insurance - he settled an amount, from where Allstate wanted to have their part (due to the "investment" they did) and took half of the settlement. I was their customer for 5 years, Allstate had my car and my house. I paid tons of money for coverage, and when the accident happened, instead of going after the other insurance's owner, they just decided to take the easy route and use my settlement. I called the next day after the accident I went through the interview and they immediately said after that they were liable and will send out an adjuster. They got me set up with a rental car and the adjuster went out 2 days after the accident! I haven't finished the process but I've been extremely happy so far.

In a previous accident someone had left their car in drive, jumped out of their car and hit my unregistered car in my driveway while I sat on the porch and watched and it took a year to get my check for damages with constant calling! (MetLife is horrible) but I've had a wonderful experience with Allstate! If they treat the people who they are paying damages to this way I can only imagine how amazing they treat their customers!!!

I have in one particular that is a show car, my prize possession. This is my most expensive car in the policy. Every year I remove the car from the insurance because the car is in storage 362 days out of the year. So the car comes out only three times a year for the summers car shows (Vw and Audi shows). The car is not completely removed from coverage. It does have comprehensive in case somebody breaks in and vandalizes it (I don't know why I was sold that coverage since the house insurance also covers the entire premises).

Last year my wife called our agent and asked to remove the car from full torc, since the car was being put away like always. A few days later my wife stopped by our agents office to sign the papers for the removal of the car. The agent had made the paper for the wrong car to be removed. (My daily driver is an Audi and my show car is an Audi also). She had removed the wrong car and my wife (God bless her) doesn't know a thing about cars and didn't realize ** (our agents assistant) had made the papers for the wrong Audi.

A few months later my son borrows the car on a snowy day and lost control in the ice. When we went to report the accident to our agent we were treated like we had just committed a crime and told that car had no insurance and we were on our own. I asked why didn't she check which car is the one I remove a every year if she was confused about it. She didn't want hear any of it and said it was our fault for signing the wrong papers.

Somehow I feel my wife's good faith was taken advantage of. But remember folks Insurance are not in the business of paying claims but in the business of investing money (your money). What really bothers me the most is it was a minor accident and no one was hurt, both cars landed on the railing and my car didn't suffer any damages just a scratches on the bumper. After giving them so much business from me, my family, and friends. For that they're going to give me the shaft. WOW!!! So always check the professionals because they are no different than the kids at the drive-thru restaurants.

If there had not been a vehicle behind him (me) he had plenty of room to make the u turn without backing up so there was no reason he would have been backing up. Let me start out by saying I switched to them from a previous insurance company who had a rate way too high for a new car. I switched to allstate as they were lower in price and had some benefits. I was paying 190 a month for a year. All of a sudden I come home after a 13-hour long shift and get a letter from allstate saying here is my new payment schedule. Wouldn't you like to know that I had been accident from all year long with them and the new payments were listed as 325!!!??? I called this thinking merely a mistake.

I was told by a guy who said, "oh well it’s because of the state, your state made the price go up". I said "Oh why would it double?" He responded by saying "well too many people put claims into the state so now we have to charge more." So clearly I was mad by this point because why should I pay because of some jerk who kept hitting cars? Also we have had an extremely bad winter with near record breaking inches of snow!!!! HOW IS IT MY PROBLEM? AND WHY ARE MY PAYMENTS DOUBLED!!?? I told him to get his manager to fix this. He said his manager was busy. I told him “fine I will wait on hold then.”

10 mins go by and the guy comes back and said, "My manager looked over your account there is no mistake but it went up because of a 17% discount we took off your account...." I FLIPPED OUT YET AGAIN!!!! So they said it was the state now they say they removed a discount for no reason??! I said "I told you to get your manager. If he came over to you to discuss my account he should just come back over and talk on the phone because that is what I told you to do". Another 10 min go by and some man came on the phone said there was nothing that can be done in a very nonchalant way. I said "you better fix this because there’s no way you're scamming me and doubling my money for no good reason." He said (being a jerk now) "Oh here’s the reason, it’s because you got into an accident in 2013. So that’s why."

HOW DOES THAT MAKE SENSE WHEN I JOINED THEM IN 2014 well after a YEAR of the accident. The policy would be affected when I joined not 2 years later after the accident. I told him this and also said "what would happen if you went home and found out that your rent is being doubled because your complex owned from 3 years ago didn't like you?" He merely just laughed at me and started getting rude and sarcastic over it all. Didn't care and also wanted to put this matter "high priority".

It gets better because I had to go to class the next day and told them “I wanted a call before the end of day on Monday” since it had been Saturday when I called. She called back alright. She called at 4:26pm while I am at work and I called at 4:28pm and got her voicemail saying she leaves at 4:30pm. *(yeah ** you too)* So I demanded by this point a phone call before 11:15 so that I could get to class on time and deal with this matter. I GET A PHONE CALL FROM THIS DUMB LADY AT 11:16. She merely told me “there’s nothing to do”. That it wasn't her fault, that it was a policy that because I got my windshield replaced that that’s why it went up.

SO NOW THE EXCUSES ARE: State went up in claims, the 17% discount removed (which was actually a good driving discount and was removed because of the windshield) windshield replacement (which in their eyes is an AT FAULT accident). They refused to tell me why the real reason is for them charging me double my original payment. I switched to a different company all together. Maybe all state can go ** THEMSELVES with the scams they are trying to pull.

This was 6 weeks after the loss report. No police report or investigation had started at this point.

Allstate tried to get me to sign a non-waiver agreement and a proof of loss with the hotel address as the insured property. The proof of loss was due in 3 weeks, mailed 4 days after it was written giving a shorter window to reply. When I pointed out that I had no insurable interest in the hotel address, I received a letter stating that it was a typo and to cross it out as not applicable. All but two questions on the proof of loss was non-applicable to the loss as it applied to my home address not personal property. I then received a letter stating that the hotel carrier had verified that they would be extending insurance coverage for the loss.

The hotel carrier denied the claim 24 hours after the loss was reported to them. I re-contacted the hotel carrier after receiving the verified extension letter however they stated in writing that Allstate had not contacted them at all. Allstate then claimed that letter was another typo. Allstate refused to put in writing claims procedure or anything communicated on the phone.

Almost 90 days after reporting the loss I am still waiting for the assessment of the stolen property and settlement of the claim. I received a message a week ago from the investigation unit stating claims they had approval to pay the claim, despite submitting the proof of loss timely I am still waiting for payment. This is a company that will misrepresent in order to cover bad faith claims practices.

I had an accident in Phelps NY on labor day weekend 2014. I am still receiving bills. There are too many parties involved with me at the end who is getting the bills and liable to pay. What good is Allstate if does not honor its responsibility or gives a damn? NY state has a "no accidental loss" LAW which protects motorists and makes the car insurance cover the claims.

Allstate Insurance has a "medical insurance" first program, which apparently no one knows about in NY state. They do not care about the NY no loss accidental policy. After I inquired from the Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse NY, they billed my insurance company per Allstate on a commercial billing rate. The billing person said the "no-loss" billing rate is much lower.

The bill itself shows no coverage from Allstate. So not only does Allstate not cover me medically, they screw me over by having the hospital bill my health insurance at a higher rate. Lastly, WHY should I have to call around, spend my time of day (at work) figuring out who is responsible for what? it seems like Allstate does not take matters into their own hands. They just need to be reminded every step of the way.

Allstate is a Thief that does not care about its policyholders and does not abide by its responsibilities. They have a confusing corporate structure that has the claims being handled through 3 separate individuals and an outside company Procura. DO NOT GO WITH ALLSTATE. I had a very bad experience, and i paid for it. Find a better insurance company. Allstate is a thief.

I never received proof of insurance or policy number, so for next 2 weeks called and emailed Allstate customer service and local agent; all who told me I was "not in their system". After 2+ weeks I received an "application packet" in the mail and returned it to Allstate, as requested, the next day. For next 3 weeks I still never received proof of insurance (ID cards) or policy details. I again made numerous calls and emails to customer service and local rep, all who told me my policy has been issued and I should have received documents in the mail by now. I verified they had correct address and they promised to send them again. I contacted California Department of Insurance to share my experience.

After 3 weeks, I received another letter and packet in the mail from Allstate, saying they never received my first completed packet (?) and that they would not issue/activate my policy unless I completed and mailed to them AGAIN; and even if I did that, they would not guarantee they would cover me! They told me if I cancelled and went to another insurance provider, I would have a "lapse in coverage" and they would pretend they never even covered me - they would not activate my policy - even though I paid for that policy almost 6 weeks ago.

And after the vehicle was repaired I received a phone call from enterprise rental asking me to pay a $300.00 bill for the rental vehicle that was provided during the repair. This accident was not my fault and Allstate told me that they would provide and pay for the rental vehicle. The repair took almost 3 weeks (originally estimated for 7 days to repair) and Allstate only paid for the estimated 7 days of the van and stuck me remaining balance.

I called the adjuster (which never returned any of my messages) and then I called customer service and was treated like stray dog. They told me that they were only responsible for estimated totals. I'm so disappointed with the way that they treated me. I will never purchase a policy from Allstate for the rest of my life. I have been an Allstate customer for 34 years, yes since I was 16 and started driving. I have multiple policies w/ this company and always a great record w/ all these policies. All of my family members have all dropped this company and now I know why. The company in the past few years has done nothing but make life more difficult for the customer and the people in the trenches at the company. My renewal policy started for 2/10 and on 2/10 I tried to not renew a second car on my policy as my son got his own insurance coverage for that car. They first made us send his new coverage policy, which makes no sense, this car is not and never has been registered to me and this policy is mine not my son's, a simple drop is all that is necessary.

Second, once we jumped through the hoops of sending proof the registration was never in my name and proof of the new policy my son secured, they still won't cancel because they now want to hold me responsible for an extra day of his coverage and are requiring me to pay his minimum premium (not one day at $5.80) for the policy that is not being renewed (150/$1010) before they can then cancel it.

I should note here that I have actually paid an extra amount before this 6 month policy went into effect (January) and they actually owe me a credit of $130 toward this 6 month premium (which is going to be for one car at $583/approx 22% of this 6 month period/approx $90/month), but NO we can't apply that here either! And they can't tell what the balance would be (basic math places MY balance at nothing, they still owe me a credit) telling me that I have to again pain the ENTIRE minimum payment (for the TWO cars, another $150 added to my already $130 credit of $1593/6 month) before they can then figure out that I'm still ahead of the game and they owe me credit, that a car was dropped here and I don't owe anything on that car premium.

This is not rocket science here. So essentially they are requiring 50% of MY car premium to assure that they can drop the other car which was never registered to me and is no longer covered anyway, as the policy ran on it and we switched it to new coverage with another company. Allstate has lost all integrity, cause multiple of added steps unnecessarily, and frustrate the customer and the people working at Allstate because they can't figure out how to have their IT people allow for the system to perform simple math.

Also, they threatened to NOT let me drop the other car, which was never registered to me and the OWNER of the car secured his own insurance with another company. Then they decided to advise me that if I switch insurance companies they there is GREAT risk that if there was ever an accident that I would not be renewed for insurance. This is total and complete BS and scare tactics to try to excuse their poor performance as a company. Now I know for sure why all of my family members, and many friends, no longer use this company. Guess they all learned something that I did not, plus they are all saving significant money with their new companies...

So I called Allstate. They keep saying you don't have to pay anything don't worry but they never told me that my next renewal was going to double the premium for the accident.

So from paying $99 they increased the price to $216.00, which is ridiculous because I never had an accident before or tickets. And when I called them they couldn't even have a legitimate reason why they increased the payment so much so I decided to call and cancel. David ** was our family agent for almost 8 years - I went through a divorce and he knew both my ex and me. We both continued with him but never had an accident. I always made my payments for 6 months in advance all those years and in person delivered my check. One day I called him to let him know I broke my foot while moving to a new house, so I was going to send my sister with the check including the extra premium for upgrading my car, and since I had no internet on the new address, she will bring the payment for both fees to him. David offered to just make a payment over the phone with him to avoid having my sister drive there. I trusted him with giving him the ATM information for him to pay the extra on the car change premium plus the 6 month due in two weeks. He said not to worry and I should get my new card on the mail within the next week.

I did get a letter with the new cards, saying I was covered for the next 6 months. He made a mistake and paid a little over the extra premium but not the coverage for the next 6 months! He never sent me a receipt as he previously did. He canceled the insurance and didn't tell me. He neither informed the auto loan company on this brand new car I got, and neither the DMV of the cancellation.

Then for the FIRST TIME ON MY LIFE I GET INTO AN ACCIDENT! The lady in front of me was texting or on the phone and did not stop when the cars in front of her stopped, so I hit her. Unfortunately the person behind me goes on the sidewalk and avoids me, so I pay! I called my insurance just to find out they canceled 2 weeks prior and no one told me. I tell them is a mistake and I will go to my agent's office in the morning since it's after 5 pm and he was closed. The only one that knew it was canceled was David and his assistant John. Both lied about "trying to reach me" - John said he called my ex! Really???

So I called my ex in front of him and then he admitted he didn't call my ex but he had it on the list to do and forgot!!! David was hiding on his office and refused to come out to talk to me, he knew what he did. I had to hire an attorney but I had no way to pay an expensive attorney - the attorney for Allstate won because he is better and Allstate pays those fees. Not because they are right. David lied about not remembering I told him to pay or even the phone conversation, so with Allstate and him I was definitely NOT IN GOOD HANDS!!!

I am not sure how they can sleep at night and continue doing what they do. I lost the car, I lost the $17,500 down payment I paid, lost my credit with it. I was physically injured and none of them cared about any of what happened. This is a clear example of what money can do when you cannot afford a good lawyer.

In 2010, I was rear-ended by a truck. I was stopped at a light, facing N, with 4 cars in front of me, and left 30' between me and the car in front of me because there was another road on my right, and a car was waiting to come out and make a left (crossing in front of me to head S). I let them out, then, BAM! I got pushed through the intersection where I was waiting (about 25'). Luckily for the car coming out of the side road, I just missed them when I got hit and pushed into the intersection... So, fast forward, my dislocated ilium was fixed (right-side Pelvis was dislocated from my spine), after 4 months of extreme pain. I could barely get out of bed after the accident. Allstate paid for this. My car drove fine, until I hit a bump in the road. When I hit a bump, the car shifted hard, either to the right or left. It was unpredictable. I could feel the rear of the car move sideways, like I got hit on the side of the rear. It didn't have to be a big bump in the road. The expansion strips in the road made the symptoms appear. It was a white knuckle ride every time I hit the Interstate. I told Allstate about it, and they said it was a preexisting condition. F/U Allstate, it WAS NOT. I would not have bought the car if it drove like that.

Anyway, I put $5,000 of my own money to get it to drive right. Thanks, Allstate. I found 6 months later from my personal mechanic that several electrical connectors were damaged and were the cause of my Airbag light, Check Engine light, and ABS light. He suspected the previous accident that Allstate would not cover since the impact had buckled my driver's side gutter, and the rear doors had come in contact with the rear quarter panels during the accident. I sold the car. Gone! Start over... This was in NY. I moved to VA, and, yes, I started up with Allstate in VA. Why, I don't know. My fiancee hit a deer. The car was fixed, no cost to me (less the deductible). Drove it for two weeks, the car broke down (directly related to the repair). They covered the initial repair, the emergency tow, vehicle rental, and other costs/expenses, EVERYTHING - including mileage that I incurred during the whole rental "mess"... I guess it matters which state you reside in as far as which insurance you choose. Allstate in NY is VERY BAD. Allstate in VA- very good.

The Company told me my claim was approved, then denied the claim, they lied. On Aug. 27th one of the hottest days of the year, I got trapped inside my vehicle. The reason was a perfect storm of conditions. Mid morning I had a snack of a piece of cake and cold glass of milk. I proceeded to go out to my truck to get a canoe off the truck. At some point I decided I wanted something more to eat, and hopped in the truck to go down to the dinner. I hesitated looking for something with the windows still up and vehicle off. The cab was hot and a little stuffy, which will make you drowsy. The glass of milk contributed and the cake gave me a sugar crash. Basically I nodded off and from there passed out from the heat in my sleep. The cab temperature was 140-160 degrees. I was stuck in there about ten hours. Somehow I got myself out and emerged with severe amnesia.

At the hospital I came around at 2 am. I asked the doctors for theories. They came up with some. Though I didn't remember at that point I asked them about heat stroke, if I might have been trapped in the vehicle. They dismissed my idea, contributing to this consumer problem. It turns out I was very dehydrated according to my doctor and I was right and the hospital doctors were WRONG. All they had to do was give me fluids and send me on my way. Instead I was subjected to every expensive test known and extended expensive stay. I reference that reality show naked and afraid where they had to take the blonde girl off the sand dunes to the hospital, same thing she was dehydrated and cooked, but she was discharged in four hours.

Back to Allstate, I told them the injury was heatstroke, they approved the claim, but then rejected the claim. Ok just say that from the beginning, the hospital people told me I was qualified for Medicare, everything paid for, but the deadline passed. So Allstate through their lie, cost me thousands $$. I've been a customer for thirty-five years and never a serious claim. No accidents for twelve years, clean record for about twenty yet my premium has risen from a $1,000 to $1700 a year. If Allstate rejects me then they must reject all little kids that get locked and left in hot vehicles. Poor little kids, ALLSTATE YOU **!!

Allstate's insured driver cut off a semi-truck that plowed into 5 other vehicle. My wife was extracted from the car and taken to a local hospital. She missed a week's worth of work. The seven-month-old Acura suffered rear-end and front-end damage, structural damage, and airbag deployment. Luckily, my wife's badly bruised body (feet to shoulders) did not suffer any broken bones. She did not need any surgery; however, she was in a lot of pain and discomfort. She did not feel comfortable with seeing a bunch of doctors or physical therapist; instead, she sought the assistance of a chiropractor. The badly bruised body along with her whiplash, according to Allstate, is soft tissue damage and they only pay out $1,000 for this injury.

The repairs, yes repairs, to the car were over $19k; however, the $40K car now does not have any retail value. Even CarMax will not put it on their lot. I have spoken to every Chicagoland Acura dealership about the car. An independent appraisal even confirmed the car does not have any retail value, only wholesale. I have received numerous offers that valued the car in the mid-teens. I even have an appraisal documenting the diminished value. Allstate has accepted none of this documentation and support.

Allstate is accepting full liability; however, they are unwilling to pay full value. Their 'final offer' made by their attorney will net us less than $6,500 - for everything. This includes pain & suffering, lost wages, loss of use, and diminished value. During this process, the adjusters at Allstate have misstated regulations that do not apply to third party claims; used erroneous data (even confirmed by the data company), made numerous arithmetic errors, and misstated facts or outright lied. They have mentioned numerous times that I can either accept their offer or pursue other options; however, an attorney will take a 1/3 and small claims court has limits. Bad news for their client, I will be filing a lawsuit pro-se against their insured - and it will not be in small claims court. Win or lose, it will cost Allstate more money than their offer. I hope to be starting a blog that outlines my court case to encourage more Pro-Se actions against Allstate's insured. At this point, the issue is not about the money as it is not going to be life-changing amount - it is more about Allstate's lack of ethics and values.

Still looking into it, but I am attempting to pull Allstate into the lawsuit - a tough venture in pro-insurance state of Illinois - especially given the fact that it is a third party claim. Allstate was #2 in Illinois in market share for decades. Geico has since taken their #2 spot. Let's continue to push their commonly known 'delay, deny, and defend' policy downwards. Remember, if you are insured by Allstate and have an accident that is your fault, you are liable for damages. If Allstate low balls the settlement offer, you, the insured, is sued. While Allstate will defend the lawsuit, you will be subject to the aggravation of the lawsuit. Most people feel that paying their premiums should prevent these lawsuits that result from Allstates attempts to under pay the claims. If Allstate insures you, show your displeasure and vote with your pocketbook - drop Allstate! State Farm and Geico are the #1 and #2 automobile insurers, respectively. In my opinion, they also provide their policyholders much better protections.

If you are a third party claimant, stand up for your rights and fight them in court. If you not comfortable with the legal system, hire an attorney on a contingent basis. Even if this means you net less money. Appreciate any suggestion that would be helpful for my actions against Allstate and the creation of the blog.

This past year Allstate again had a rate increase in Florida, approved by the state regulatory folks, because they "needed" it. So, I went shopping and save $400 a year for the exact same coverage from another company. Basically one that does not spend millions upon millions advertising, but uses their surpluses to lower premiums. Now I'm looking to change my homeowners for the same reason. Geico, Progressive and Allstate appear to want to increase the number of clients so they can pay stockholder and executives bonuses, but the clients paying the premiums get increased premiums. Not a single hurricane hit Florida last year but we keep paying increased premiums for that risk. That money too is being used for advertising as they increase customer rates. It's not right!

A few days before the policy expired the Allstate agent "Ashley **" from The Alter Agency called my wife and explained that by canceling our car insurance, our home insurance will increase by 25%. After my calculation, we still decided to go with Progressive (I think I'm initialed to do so???). She just didn't want to cancel our car ins. policy and emailed me that she won't cancel till tomorrow and that I should sleep it over (ha???).

I responded that I'm determined to cancel my car insurance as of that day (btw this was the last day of the policy). By now I was sure that all is taken care of.

However, after the weekend I got a notification from my bank that I got a charge from Allstate of $820..... WHAT?????!!!! I really appreciate the time from Ashley to educate me with the info she explained, but after all it is MY decision to stay or to leave Allstate. They Cannot and should NOT force me to stay.... This time I was driving on the interstate when I received the call and I said to call back at a later time. I don’t want to get distracted but the guy responded that it would only take few minutes.

I was surprised how pushy and reckless Allstate can get when it comes to selling their insurance. They claim to keep their customers in safe hands while they were trying to put my life in danger to earn few dollars and it is so foolish on their part thinking that I will actually buy their products when they are so annoying, pushy, reckless and greedy for money. I have come to the conclusion that they do just the opposite of what they claim and they are very unethical. I have posted a complaint on their Facebook website, send in an email at their website.

Sue them, after they refuse to pay you the money they owe you... and the back charges that they are about to pay you. It's your legal right to Back Charge anyone who owes you money. And you have 4 years to do it to them. After 4 years? It's no longer small claims. It's the big time court charges. 9 times out of 10 they will attempt to settle out of court. We are now without a vehicle and have difficulty getting to work and getting our kids to school. We tried suing the driver and Allstate policy holder in small claims but cannot get a good address or phone number for them. Allstate will not give us that information. We have hired an attorney but he only deals with the bodily claims and not our loss of property. We only bought the car 6 months before the accident and still have a balance on it and cannot afford to get another car. Allstate will also not provide a rental, they will not do anything. Their insured has had four claims in the last year and we are being penalized for that? Allstate is an evil bad faith company that only cares about their bottom line. THE REASON I'M WRITING THIS REVIEW IS BECAUSE I HAD AN HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE WITH ALLSTATE AGENCY. I had a car accident on June 14, 2014. However before June 14, 2014 as an Allstate's client, I did what I was supposed to do. Right after I received the letter from Allstate that they required me to sign a consent to rate (CTR) form for the renewal of June 10, 2014. I came to Allstate's office that located at: 2310 South Miami Blvd Durham NC 27703 to sign the CTR form "to continue my full coverage" with ** who sat at front desk of his office. But when my accident happened I called them to report and have my vehicle fixed. The agent that I spoke with stated that my policy didn't have full coverage. THIS IS SO RIDICULOUS! I had already signed with ** a few weeks before my accident happened and now there's nothing in my policy. This means ** didn't update my signed CTR form; he lost it or threw it away. If ** did not lost it or threw it away then they need to tell me where is my signed CTR form? Then I came back to that office to signed one more time with ** who's **'s boss and told him that I previously signed with ** so why I have to signed again.

** told me that he will speak with ** and follow back with me but he didn't call me back. I had continuously gone back and forth to their office, I also kept calling them and left a bunch of messages but I didn't received any response from him... Finally after looking for him in three months, I had a meeting with him on September 24, 2014. But unfortunately he didn't solve this problem and kept asking me the copy that I signed with **. THIS IS A SILLY QUESTION! Although I came and signed with them two times but both times they didn't give me any piece of paper, so how do I have the copy to show them? Then he tried to kick me out of his office and threatened call police if I didn't leave. He treated me like I'm committing a crime. However, I wondered what kind of "Fricking" business was he operating? Allstate's slogan was "YOU ARE IN GOOD HANDS" but I don't think so. If I am in good hands my problem had already been solved a few months ago. "I AM IN FRAUDULENT HANDS THAT SOUNDS BETTER."

He tried to brushed me out of his office by saying "He has customer waiting for him" so then he has to tell me "who am I???" Of course I'm his customer too, I'm not a homeless that came to his office and begged for handout. I think he should wake up his mind and think about reason why I came to his office? I came to his office because of his employee's mistake, not because I have so much spare time want to wasted it in his office... He's taking advantage of the fact that I'm ASIAN, don't speak English well and BULLY me, but I dare him if he can do this to other ethnic group of people.

This is second time he made my policy in chaotic condition. On March 1, 2014 ** sent me an e-mail in which he said "He just has learned that I have been sent a notice of cancellation for nonpayment of premium on Allstate policy and as of the cancel date and time I still owe the past due amount as shown on the notice of cancellation." THIS IS EXTREMELY RIDICULOUS! On December 12, 2013 Allstate automatically draft money in my bank to pay for my six months full coverage. If they already drafted money to pay full amount for six months so tell me how do I been canceled for nonpayment? Then when I called, they said sorry it was an error. "THAT MEANS THEY MAKE MISTAKE ALL THE TIME."

This agent is completely UNTRUSTWORTHY. His service is crabbed, everyone should stay away from this Allstate insurance agency. I had never seen any people tried to solve their problem and treated the customer like this in my life. First of all, they didn't keep their words, tried to avoid and ignored all the messages that customer left (DISAPPEAR IN THREE MONTHS). Second, when they confronted face to face with customer, they tried to kick customer out of their office insulted them. Third, they threatened to call police if customer didn't leave. This is an easy and quickly way for them to solve their problem, so they can be FREE. Actually, they are the one who's disrupted me. As a manager, it's his job to correct this mistake but instead he's turning this on me and threatened call the police. Even if the polices come, I don't care because I did not do anything wrong. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE- RUN AWAY FROM THIS AGENT.

They are not operating "YOU ARE IN GOOD HANDS" slogan at all. It should changed into "YOU ARE IN CROOK HANDS." If they had morals and were running an ethical business, they should responsible for their employee's mistake. A business without character shouldn't become a business at all. No one making money by lying... irresponsible to their customers.

My husband tapped a car when backing out the driveway at 1/2 mile per hour. It caused a nickel-sized ding in the driver's door. It wasn't even a scratch, just a slight depression less than 1cm deep. This was a ten-year old truck we hit which had much 'old damage' along the front, fender, and wheel well on that side. We were clear on this point to the adjuster and the policeman, and pointed out that there was a good deal of old damage which had nothing to do with the minor ding. Allstate paid the driver over $2,000 to have this 'damage' repaired. We find this out months later when they raise our insurance rates without any notification. I call and find out that the reason for the 25% increase is that this 'accident' was a '2 point collision' which means it is costly.

When we called Allstate to ask about the payout, we were told that there was hardly any money spent on parts, most of the $2,000 was spent on labor which worked out to $80 an hour in labor. We asked for more information and we were told that the dealership had to remove the front lights, fender, etc. to repair 'internal damage'. We wonder how such a low-speed collision of a tow hitch barely striking a door panel with hardly any force (I could do more damage by kicking the door with my foot) would cause so much costly 'internal damage'.

Unfortunately Allstate states that they were just following policy and that apparently the dealership 'recommended' that the front assembly be removed so that they could get a ding taken out of the side of the car. They didn't know anything about the 'hidden' damage which is said to have occurred. We told them they have been taken for a ride, but honestly it's no skin off their nose, they just pass the costs on to their (former) customers. I am dropping my policy, not only because of this incident, but another 'debacle' involving a flooded kitchen floor and Allstate sending out Servpro (their choice and phone call) to tear up my floor and saying, "done." Yes, they were quite willing to leave me without any floor or subfloor at all, said I would have to pay for the rest of the repairs. Again we were arguing and going back-and-forth on the phone to get them to provide some sort of flooring so we would not fall through to the crawl space and so we could use our kitchen and laundry rooms. Allstate was kind enough to allow ServPro to lay uncut pieces of plywood down so we had some semblance of a floor. Gee, thanks.

I am very frustrated with the service that I have received with Allstate. I had an accident on 10/2014, was making a turn and was hit by another driver. It has taken the adjuster over a week to go and assess the damage to my vehicle. Every time I call them I am given the run around that they cannot find the location of my car to assess the damage. I had to park my car in a bad location because the accident was too far away from my home to drive the car due to excessive damage to the radiator and the front end. It has now been well over a week and still no adjuster. I receive a call from the police station that my car had been stolen and driven to another location.

I called Allstate and they said they would dispatch a tow, but now the car has been impounded and taken to a salvage yard. This has been the most frustrating experience I have had. I had Geico Insurance for over 7 years and decided to switch to Allstate because of the advertising, "You're in Good Hands with Allstate." That is the biggest lie and they should be cited for false advertisement. I was also told when I took the policy out that I had premium coverage but when I needed to go to the doctor to get checked out I was informed that I didn't have coverage. Can someone explain to me how you have premium coverage without medical? My agent is rude and nonchalant, really didn't show any sympathy. I switched from State Farm Auto Insurance to Allstate. I had one accident and live in Philadelphia. The agent told me he could give me a policy for 159.00/month. Was lower than my State Farm Policy. I had to pay 300+ upfront and they told me I wouldn't have to pay for 2 months. The bottom line is that they don't tell you that you get that price because the down payment goes towards paying what the premium really is. My premium at the time would have been around $199.00/month. Had I know what the premium actually was, I would have stayed with State Farm.

When it came time to renew, my premium will be 262.00/month with less coverage. They told me that they had rate increases because it is costing more to do business in the state. I find it very hard to understand what has gone on to the tune of 262.00/month. They reinstated all discounts and come up with 262.00/month. If I miss a payment or I'm late, that cancels a discount. It's a catch 22 situation because they never really explain things as they are. If I had stayed with State Farm, my premium would have been around 200.

I'm so sorry I was side sided by lack of information. If they had given me the correct information, I would have stayed in West Chester or somewhere in the suburbs of Philadelphia. It's taken me weeks to get to this point. I found it almost impossible to reach someone in at the corporate level. After all is said and done, I still don't know what my policy looks like. They initially told me 199.00 and now they are taking out 262.00.

We have been with your insurance company for years, but recently we have had some major issues. For one my mother was a passenger in a car that was in a car accident. Since the accident we have found that no we are not in "good hands." In fact dealing with Allstate has been one of the most frustrating and at time demeaning experiences that we have had to deal with in result from the accident. This company owes my family thousands of dollars in lost wages and home care, on top of the thousands that it owes on unpaid medical bills.

Throughout this process we have stayed with Allstate and have continued to pay our insurance bill even though this company owes us so much money. I had recently had no choice but to purchase a new vehicle in August. I called to get a quote and was told it would be a total of $130.00 a month for full coverage. Now it is October and we have been charged an amount of $190.00 per car a month and we're not notified of the change. This company has refused to stop the draw on our account which has lead to a total of an extra $75.00 of expense to my family. The representative has informed us that there is nothing that can be done to get the policy back down to normal.

It seems to me as though since this company owes my family so much money they would simply deduct what they need for car insurance from the money that we are waiting on, but apparently that is not an option. My family has struggled for a very long time because this company cannot pay what is owed to us and now we are struggling even more because they have decided to raise the rates so dramatically on two cars in two months. This is completely ridiculous, the representatives are rude and unhelpful. To keep from helping us during this difficult time with my mother's recovery after the accident, Allstate switched insurance adjusters 6 times in one month, so that we could not send the paperwork we needed to to the right person. When we finally got it to the right person they kept "losing" the paperwork that we sent in. Save yourself time, money, energy and stress and do not give Allstate your money.

Allstate hire incompetent adjusters. Is this on purpose to avoid paying the claims? I was driving my car about 2 weeks ago when an SUV hit me from behind.

Fortunately both drivers were fine, so I decided against calling the police. Big mistake! I filed a claim with Allstate who is the insurer of the person that hit me so I can get my car repaired. I got an estimate myself from a body shop in Boca Raton where I live, car repair shop that is approved by most insurance, including state Allstate.

There are 3 damages on the back of my car, bumper scratched, a metal ornament damaged and a dent in the trunk. I was asked by the Allstate agent to go to one of their adjusters, at King Automotive Group in Coconut Creek. I went today for my appointment, thinking that it is a simple procedure. Mr Brad **, Field adjuster for Allstate inspected my car and gave me an estimate. It was much lower than the estimate I got from the other shop. Comparing the 2 estimates, I realized that the dent in the trunk, the main damage from the accident was left out. Arguing with car adjuster Mr. **, I was told that he did not include the dent in the estimate, because it is unlikely that it is part of this accident and I need to prove this!!!

Apparently the owner of the car did not claim any damage on her car, so that means that this damage was not part of this accident. Great reasoning! So, to summarize, I have a damaged car because a quite large SUV hit me from behind, all the damage is in the back of my car and I do need to prove it? Prove what? I think my car is enough proof! After that I called Allstate, I asked for a manager that was not eager to talk to me either. After multiple requests Mr. Erik **, sent me back to the same adjuster. I really do not see the purpose revisiting the same person. The big question is does Allstate works with incompetent adjusters because they do not want to pay the correct amount for the claims? I was really expected for Allstate to do something about my complaint because I did make the claim with them and not send me back to the same person. And after all arguing what do I get back?

Very, Very upset with Allstate insurance. How will I get compensated for my time and hardship? I had to cancel my next appointment because I was so upset of both incompetence and the way I was being treated; I felt insulted. Not fair for me or my client! I would never recommend Allstate Insurance to any of my friends or my customers, ever!

First, the driver wouldn't open her window so I could get her insurance info, so it took a week for me to find out who the insurer was. For that week I drove a totaled car everyday to work - not fun. So I finally find out it's Allstate and I call. They say they will provide a rental car, but they didn't tell me I had to pay insurance daily for the car - that was BS. Then, they give me a dollar amount that does not reflect the worth of my car - I refuse the amount and tell them what I will have to pay for a similar car. Now the fun really begins - they start dodging my phone calls, I leave messages with no return calls. I talk to any agent that will listen but get nowhere - once they even picked the phone up and then hung it up (understand I didn't get loud or nasty).

Now they want to stop paying their part of the rental (should be all their part btw), they won't negotiate on the low amount they are trying to make me take, and I have no other transportation. These people are the reason for the terrible reputation of insurance companies and I hope they go out of business. I will never again, ever, in this life have anything to do with this conman Allstate!

My Toyota Highlander was smashed into by an Allstate insurance agency owner while it was parked at a meter three sunny Saturdays ago. He was hauling a trailer when it happened, and there were a ton of onlookers. He left his card under my windshield wiper and went on his merry way. When I found my car a half hour later- front bumper detached and on the ground, shock absorber in the street, headlight cracked, side panel banged in, I made the terrible mistake of calling Allstate- the 800 number on the card of the guy who hit me- to start the claims process (much time and hassle would have been spared if he had opted to start it for me from the comfort of his air-conditioned truck as he drove away), rather than my own insurance company, which would have handled this whole mess a million times better and subrogated on my behalf, thereby avoiding this whole nightmare.

The car was not a big deal- the whole claim was around $2k. The hours I've lost trying to reason with Allstate are the real loss. For starters, Allstate refused to tow my car off the site, telling me to simply rip the bumper off and drive it home, where an assessor would come inspect it sometime over the next, oh, 3-5 days, they weren't sure. I'm a small female and in an act of clichéd desperation, had to call my boyfriend for help with that, and even then still didn't feel comfortable driving the car myself. So I had him do it. Because it was a Saturday afternoon, I couldn't get anyone besides the claims assistant to talk to me about step two of the whole needlessly ugly process until Monday morning, so I was car-less until a rental could be arranged for Monday afternoon (where it was discovered that Enterprise only had cargo vans available anyway- icing on the cake).

Allstate did let me know that had I only had an Android rather than an iPhone, there's an Allstate app that would have allowed them to assess the damages remotely while I waited on the spot. Palm on head! If only! Just wow. Bet the guy who hit my car had an Android. Wish he'd used it. On Monday morning, after hours of pleading, I was able to expedite the process of having someone come look at the car and they sent him on Monday afternoon. This immediately kicked into play two stunning weeks of endless harassment from Allstate, because the repair shop where Allstate itself advised me to have the car towed happened to be backed up on work due to a recent hailstorm, and there was also more damage to the car than was seen at first. But according to Allstate's magical mystery made-up logic, all cars can and will be fixed within 72 hours, regardless of actual human capability, divine ordinance or plain old reality.

Then again, expecting Allstate, with its impermeable tin man model of customer service policies, to approach any claim with a shred of humanity, is evidently asking way too much. So, we spoke with the shop on Monday, September 29th, exactly one week after the car was hauled off, and that was the day they started working on it. The next day, additional damage was found behind the grill of the car- the condenser had also been trashed. So that needed to be ordered and an extension was warranted. At least, one might be inclined to think an extension on the rental car was a reasonable request. I live in a somewhat rural area and so the part was ordered with the hopes that it might arrive on Friday October 3rd but possibly not until Monday October 6th.

By then, Allstate was having a conniption over the fact that I have the audacity to entitle myself to a $30 a day rental car, despite the fact that my car still didn't have a face on it. The estimated date of completion given by the shop was Monday, October 6th or Tuesday, October 7th. By the end of Tuesday, September 30th, I had received a phone call from a belligerent Allstate rep demanding I return my rental and threatening that I wouldn't get away with keeping the rental beyond a reasonable amount of time. Because of course I was thrilled about driving a rental galleon ship that gets 3 cents to the gallon. Then, Enterprise called me and apologetically told me that Allstate had ceased payment on the car on Monday, September 29th. Once again, I want to emphasize that this was the repair company they had recommended themselves, and it was verified that work did not begin on the car until that Monday the 29th.

The new condenser finally came in on the afternoon of Friday October 3rd and was completed at exactly 5pm, at which point I got a courtesy call from the shop saying they were closing up for the day and the car was ready for a Monday pick-up. Allstate received an email at 5:00pm on the dot saying the same. When I got the message Friday evening around 7pm, I was surprised but relieved that my car was done, and on Monday morning I made the switch and assumed I could go on with my life and forget about all of this. Nope. Enterprise called to tell me that Allstate refused to pay for the last week of rental on the premise that... I forget. There was no premise.

After a dozen phone calls and a lot of personal hair-pulling, Allstate agreed to review my case and call me back before day's end yesterday. Instead, in a jaw-dropping act of passive-aggressiveness, they had Enterprise call to tell me they were charging my card for Saturday October 4th, Sunday October 5th, and a full day on Monday 6th, implying that I should have somehow been able to magically beam myself to the repair shop on Friday evening after they had closed at 5pm, break into my own vehicle, and reclaim it. The repair shop is closed all weekend. I asked Enterprise to please wait 24 hours before running my card. I had come up with the great idea to contact the agency owner who wrecked my car, and if he was a reasonable guy, I planned to sweetly ask if he might perhaps be willing to appeal to Allstate on my behalf to recover the rental car funds.

His rudeness was astounding, and as soon as I introduced myself he couldn't wait to get me off the phone. He didn't apologize at all for the wreck or for the ensuing inconvenience- just told me there was nothing he could do and dismissed me. I was charged for the rental. The best part of all this is that every single person I spoke to from Allstate-- all two dozen of them-- told me that the guy who hit my car deserved some credit because he left his card, when others wouldn't have. Since when are we handing out awards for the most basic acts of human decency? So Allstate will probably end up giving the guy a medal, while I lost a week's rent on a rental car I genuinely needed because of his negligence. Appalling.

I am in the process of shopping other companies. Allstate can kiss my Irish **. It's no different than the cable Fios companies. They love their new clients, 89 dollars a month for 2 yrs and one day up to 285. Then back to the other provider 79.00 2 yrs. Companies just need to be changed every few yrs no matter what type. In February of 2013 I was rear-ended by a driver with Farmers Insurance (WORST EXPERIENCE EVER). Even though I had a nightmare of a time with Farmers, my experience with Allstate was top notch. Because of my great coverage with Allstate, all my medical bills were paid in full and on time through their MedPay. Never be fooled about the difference between bodily injury and MedPay. No money came out of my pocket along the way because of the extensive MedPay Allstate policies carry. My local agent, Lori **, and her office were very helpful also. Gave me sound advice on how to go about the repair and claim process.

Farmers attempted to deny liability (even though they had already placed me in a rental car, which automatically assumes liability) to the claim since their customer lied about the circumstances to the accident, thank goodness for a good police report. Farmers wanted to only pay for my liability deductible and not the whole thing, super illegal! Lori and her team really cared that I was taken care of through the ordeal. Also the Allstate MedPay team out of Georgia is great. They checked on me once or twice a month, never got upset or pushy about treatment or anything. Plus I went with the Allstate recommended repair shop and not even the dealership could tell I had a $10k repair done to the back end. I would highly recommend Allstate to anyone searching for auto, renters, homeowners, or life insurance. I love all 5 policies I have with them!

My parked car was hit by an Allstate policy holder 8/12/14 in a private parking lot at my work. The driver admitted he was trespassing, came into a private lot with signs posted that it was for employees only and others would be towed. I called police, did a report, got all the driver's info and he took responsibility. The next day I called Allstate with repair estimate, police report, etc... I was told I could use whatever shop I wanted for repair and they would pay them within 24 hours.

Allstate never once called me or followed up with me but I have now called them 37 times. Each time I document date and time of call, who I speak to and details of conversation. Two weeks after the accident I finally got approval to bring my car to shop and get a rental car. Enterprise called me with the reservation number and we arranged pick up. After my car was in the shop for over a day (repair time was 4 days, clearly shown on estimate Allstate approved), I called Allstate about payment. They then said it was never approved and repairs should only take 2 days and I would have to return rental car etc....

Long story short I am still going through hell with Allstate and each time I call I get a different person and a different answer. My claim was small, $1730.00, with no injuries and I ended up having to pay the shop myself out of pocket because Allstate would not send payment quickly. Basically wanted the shop to take an IOU and the shop would not release car without payment and Allstate said they wouldn't pay for a rental car anymore so I had to bring rental car back and pay out of pocket and wait for payment and call Allstate everyday about it.

To date they still have not compensated me for diminished value either. My car was brand new, had not even made the first payment yet, and they are saying no diminished value. How can that be? A wrecked car has no diminished value over a new car? Two dealers have told me value is diminished over $2,000 now and the car is showing up on Car Fax as having a minor accident. Allstate reported the accident to Car Fax but are saying they didn't so they don't have to pay diminished value.

This whole thing has been a nightmare. A big company like Allstate that handles claims all the time and I can't get a claim under $2,000 settled promptly. I wonder how bad it would be if my car was totaled and someone was injured or killed? The worse part is employee after employee has apologized to me and admitted they have mishandled this claim repeatedly but NO ONE WILL TAKE OWNERSHIP. I cannot get any last names or direct phone numbers. I have to call the general 800# each time and start all over with my story every time. I called the policy holder and told him what was going on and he was horrified. He called his agent who said he had nothing to do with claims. Again, no accountability. I am beyond frustrated.

We have been Allstate customers for 25 years. My husband's truck was hit by an Allstate insured while it was parked. Witnesses left a note stating they saw the person hit the truck, get out of their vehicle, pick up the pieces to their vehicle and take off. My husband noticed when he returned to his truck that it was hit so hard it actually moved the truck and transmission fluid was all over the ground. He had to go buy sealant and transmission fluid in order to get home. The Allstate adjuster examined the vehicle and said that the sealant was "old damage" and they are refusing to pay for it.

So in essence they are calling my husband a liar. Twenty-five years of premiums and he's a liar. The adjusters and reps are rude and condescending. The garage is an Allstate pro shop, the adjuster is from allstate, the "independent" person that we requested to examine the vehicle is - you guessed it - employed by Allstate. And for extra fun, if the "independent" adjuster agrees with the first adjuster (hmmm? ), then we have the added privilege of paying his fee. Who's looking out for us? Not Allstate! I wonder if we would be having this much trouble if the other driver were insured with another company?

He wouldn't let me just get renter's insurance. I did not want to go against my apartment's recommendation, so I changed my auto insurance. I thought about it for a while and it made me more and more angry. It is their right to offer or not offer service to me, but I felt like the fact that they insisted on charging me more than my previous plan and the fact that they insisted that I change my auto insurance made me not trust Allstate or the agent. I will not do business with Allstate or Charles ** again.

The airbag deployed in my sons face and he had bloody noses constantly afterwards. After seeing 3 drs. over 5 mos, he was DX w/ broken blood vessels in his nose & had an outpatient procedure to repair them. The car my son was driving was my husband's work car, owned by his boss, which we had the use of since we had no car & his boss made no claim w/ Allstate for the car. It made life a bit difficult for us for a while since we had no car again..

Husband missed a couple days work plus my daughter & I have disabilities which require frequent dr visits & she is in & out of hospitals so a car is a necessity! There have been several things that Allstate have/have not done/said that really angered us...not returning calls, claiming injuries (though not severe) were not what we said, telling him that he took too long to see the drs, telling him the accident is partially his fault when the guy turned in front of him claiming there's no definite proof that the accident caused his injuries. They made an offer to him even before his treatment was done because he was taking too long to see the drs. but he was a full time student & we had no car, it wasn't easy! Now it seems like they're trying to strong-arm my son into accepting their offer now, accept the offer or get less money, take it or leave it basically. Thank you.

Recently, I had a very minor incident that Allstate at first claimed was $516 then claimed that it was a $562 payout for tapping a Jeep Wrangler putting a scuff mark that was about 3" long on the running board. When my policy came up for renewal, they hiked my rates by 75% for the next three years even though I had never had an at-fault claim against my insurance since 1998. Nor have I had any points against my license in the last 16 years.

Over the three-year period, this rate increase would have cost me an additional $2,160 above and beyond the payments I would have been making anyway. They also informed me that the rates would gradually decrease after that... As if I believe that! Insurance rates never go down. They suck you in with cheap intro prices, but then watch out! If a person who is 57 years old with a completely clean driving record who drives a Volvo gets this treatment, I can only imagine what they would do to somebody who actually had a blemished driving record.

To make matters worse, they told me on the phone that an incident is an incident and it didn't matter whether I had a $500 parking lot boo-boo or they had to pay out $100K+ for a bad accident. I said, so in other words you're depending upon your good drivers to subsidize your bad ones? They said, well we don't like to think of it that way! I bet you don't! So, I told them to go to hell and got another carrier for both cars and my homeowners insurance. I wouldn't recommend Allstate to anybody.

I am in Dallas. My Agent is in Hobbs New Mexico... So he makes an exception. 12 days later they give me back $18.66 because they want to charge me for three days???? I did not owe them beyond 9/5/14.

When I started with Allstate they overdrafted my account 300.00 dollars in overdraft fees later and some woman higher up their chain refunded me all my fees. I could not afford to leave them at that point. In 8/2014 they went up in charges, said everyone did… so I shopped around and found a better deal. Tried to cancel and leave and they still can't get it right. I did not cause this mistake and I sure as hell should not have to pay $2.99 for it. Do not do business with Allstate. We've been with Allstate for 10 yrs. Last month my son got his license & a 20 yr old car (low miles/good condition). When I added him to our policy, it more than doubled our premium! They claim that he HAS to be covered not only on his vehicle, but both mine and my husband's. Both of our vehicles carry full coverage as they have lie holders. I asked to sign an exclusion for my son for these vehicles as he does not drive them....ever! My husband's car is a manual transmission, which my son is not able to drive. Also, my husband is working/living 3 states away!!! it is impossible for our son to drive that vehicle. No exclusion is permitted. Ok....moving on. I have asked numerous times for adjustments to be made to lower our premiums ($385/mo), only to get some bs adjustment, raising our deductible, that will save a whopping $40 on the 6 month total. Eventually, I got fed up & started calling around for quotes.

State Farm gave me the same coverage on all 3 cars, AND my renters policy, for LESS THAN HALF of what I'm paying Allstate!!! I immediately took my business to State Farm. I then go to my Allstate agency's office, and tell him that I want to cancel my policy effective 9/19. He says "ok", prints out the paperwork for me to sign, and as he hands it to me says, "There's a new law that requires we keep your auto policy active for 12 days after the cancellation date. This allows us the time needed to notify your lien holders that policy has been cancelled. So, the auto policy won't be cancelled until 10/4, and you will be billed for coverage until that date". I say, "But...I have auto coverage effective 9/19. I don't need to be covered by Allstate too". He says, "Sorry. It's the law now."

I signed, walked outside & called my State Farm agent, who said she had never heard of any such law, and that I should investigate further. I called customer service, and got the same bs answer. After raising my voice a little, the CSR says she's sorry for the inconvenience, and the best she can do is forward my complaint to another department & that they would contact me within 24-48 hours. Ask me if I expect to hear from them... At any rate, I will be taking a letter to my previous agent that states the requested dated of cancellation, and that I refuse to pay for coverage past that date, have him sign it, and make copies. I'm curious to see how this plays out. I've read a LOT of these complaints, so I expect this to be a full on battle. All I have to say is....bring it!

I contacted AllState late in July to advise them that my 18-year-old would be leaving for college and no longer needed to be on my auto insurance. Today after receiving a "change to your policy" notification that shows no changes at all to the policy or price, and checking online that nothing had changed either, I phoned AllState's 24-hour number and eventually spoke to a representative. A simple request which I thought would take a matter of minutes with a courteous customer service representative. My conversation could not have been more bizarre. For 10 minutes of my life I thought I had moved to a dictatorship.

When I explained that I wanted to remove my 18-year-old from my insurance, I was told by the rep that I couldn't do that. The 18-year-old had to remain on my policy unless s/he had their own auto insurance. My 18-year-old just moved to college, does not own a car. When I asked why s/he had to remain on my policy, the answer was because s/he was still a dependent. The dependent lives about 3000 miles away from home. Apparently even though s/he does not own a car, does not drive any cars, does not have access to any cars, s/he still has to have auto insurance which I must pay for because s/he's... a dependent. Legally s/he is not a dependent, s/he is emancipated. No one is responsible for paying for him/her. However, as punishment for continuing to care about my 18-year-old, the rep advised me I must also continue to pay the auto insurance which is now redundant.

When I told the representative that I would be selling the car soon so AllState would have to remove my 18-year-old from my policy at some point, she advised me that if I did that I would be making matters worse for myself because AllState would only increase my own insurance premiums. When I told the rep I had previous children that had been removed from the auto policy when they had all departed for college, she informed me that should never have been allowed to happen.

I could not believe that I was being dictated to about who I could, or could not, remove from my insurance policy and subsequently threatened with an increase in my own policy as penalty for selling a second car and removing it from my insurance along with my 18-year-old. Is this some sort of unethical tactic to maintain revenue by refusing to cancel insurance policies? Obviously, I will be canceling my policy with a company that bullies its customers this way and expects to be taken seriously.
