My daughter, 22 y/o, got hit by an Allstate driver on the 4th of July 2010. She was driving down the street in the inside lane traveling south, the other driver pulled out of Whataburger across two-lane of traffic attempting to turn north. There was a collision as he crossed the second lane of traffic.
2. The female was given a "failure to yield row" ticket.
3. My car was totaled.
4. Now I have no car. Allstate won't assume liability and my finance company has repossessed my car, ruining my credit because they got tired of waiting for the settlement/payoff.
5. Yesterday, Allstate told me they were still waiting on the eye witness account/statement from the officer. He didn't see the accident or he would have seen the dwi/switch!

I called my agent in Rancho Cucamonga on July 30, 2010 to make a payment after I had received a call from Allstate on July 27 stating I needed to make a payment by the 31st. My agent informed me that my policy had been terminated and I needed to call the 800 number to get a new policy because my policy was not able to be reinstated. Upon calling the 800 number, I was informed that I needed to pay a past due amount of $388.17 plus the cost of the new policy which was $234.00 per month.
I authorized them to go ahead with the transaction but the representative had processed the first amount of $388.17. She then indicated she was processing the second payment of $468.00. I then told her wait, why is it $468.00 and not $234.00. She indicated that I had to pay 2 months advance payment. I told her no, I was not going to do that when my policy was just cancelled 2 days ago and you have required me to pay a back balance! I advised the agent to reverse the charges to my bank account. She indicated that she would. I in turn hung up the phone and called back in 10 minutes to make sure this had been handled.
Unfortunately, the payment had not been reversed. I asked for a supervisor. (I was transferred 4 times before reaching the correct department.) The supervisor in turn looked up my account and advised me they never should have charged me the past due amount. He indicated that he would have a check issued to me. I was very upset because the money should just have simply been put back into my account. I told him to go ahead and send the check, but I was going to be calling the corporate headquarters and possibly canceling my account. He asked if I wanted to cancel it now. I indicated to him I would decide once I talked to someone in the corporate office.
I finally was able to reach Teresa ** in corporate to file a complaint. At that time she indicated the amount of $468.17 had been debited back to my account and a check for $700+ was being sent to me! I asked her why was so much being refunded? Teresa stated that the agent had canceled my new policy on July 30 after my initial call. I couldn't believe it. So I wanted my account reinstated. She indicated I would have to call the 800 number and go through the process of starting a new policy and paying two months in advance. I asked her why would I give their company payment when I haven't even received the money owed to me yet.
They should just simply reinstate the policy since it was canceled by their agent without my consent! I asked for a number to the corporate office. I spoke with Corinne **. She indicated nothing could be done and she would file a complaint. I told her I now am not covered on either of my cars due to their agent and there is nothing she can do unless I make a 2-month payment and open a new policy! Unbelievable, truly unbelievable.
I have to be extra cautious the next couple of days so as not to get in an accident or pulled over by the police because I do not have coverage! I have a young driver on my policy so this is a very nerve-racking experience until I can obtain coverage again. And I can't do that until I receive the money back from Allstate.

I was hit by a Nassau County Police Ambulance on Oct. 2, 2009, I pulled over like I was supposed to and the driver with his lights and siren blaring pulled around in front of me and not realizing scrapped my bumper on the passenger side causing $994.27 in damage. I followed him to his destination and as he went for the stretcher I told him he ran into me on Merrick Avenue. After sitting for two and a half hours waiting for me to say forget about it and leave the Third Precinct Sergeant came looked everything over and said, I could pick up and accident report at the precinct, about an hour later the sergeant called me (11pm) and ask to come over and take some photo's and he said, he would give me the accident and save me a trip. My complaint is with Allstate with whom I have been with for 41 years.
I was told by my insurance company that even though the accident was caused by the Police Ambulance that they didn't think it was worth going after Nassau County for the small sum of $500.00 deductible because his lights and siren were and there is a law so I have to eat the loss of the deductible. I told him that's not fair to me because you didn't want to pursue the county for my loss. He told me to send in the estimate of my damages and they would pay my loss less the deductible. I did everything right and they still win. So now I'm faxing the estimate of my damage which was fixed on Oct 10, 2009.

This is a dumb situation that both Allstate and the agent refuse to correct. I signed up for paperless billing. It seems that getting the bill to download after the notice was impossible. I called the agent and requested that I be put back on paper billing. They have refused to assist me and keep referring me to corporate. Corporate also refused to assist and I now get a notice of cancellation each and every month on the policy. The attitude of the agent is "who cares". Apparently they have enough business not to respond to customer needs.
I pulled two of 4 cars off the auto policy. Still they couldn't care less. I have auto, homeowners and umbrella with them for the past 35 years. This is a remarkably disgusting attitude on the part of the agent and Allstate itself. My reason for complaining is that after 35 years with one company, the customer is granted "relationship" privileges, but not in my case. I think that they need to be made an example of regarding the treatment of customers.

When I initially took out an auto policy with Allstate, I was informed that unless I permitted them to take automatic payments from my bank account, I'd have to pay more. I reluctantly agreed but after a year of Allstate randomly taking payments from my account and constantly incurring overdraft fees, I demanded they cease. The 800 number advised me that I'd have to make arrangements through my agent. I went to my agent, who never opens before 11 a.m. and only a few days a week, and who informed me that I'd have to go through the 800 number. After two months of them telling me that I'd never contacted them on the matter, they finally agreed to cease auto payments. I made an online payment from my bank and a couple of days later, Allstate took out yet another payment.
During the past 17 days, I've called every day. They tell me that my case is in their system, they will refund the payment within 48 hours. I ended up having to change my banking information, put a stop on Allstate, and had my bank's fraud department open up an investigation. I spoke to Allstate yesterday, who promised that the money would be reimbursed to my account today, but that didn't happen. Then I spent nearly an hour talking to a supervisor who first tried to tell me that they owe me nothing because they'd only taken a June payment. But after a complete meltdown on my part, they discovered that they had merely taken the July payment a little early.
Then they asked why I wanted the money back, since it was almost time to make another payment anyway. Conveniently, Allstate doesn't have a complaint dept. so I spoke with another supervisor, threatening to bring Allstate's tactics to the attention of the Better Business Bureau, my local television news station, and any other entity I could think of. As it stands now, yet another supervisor will call me back on Monday, Tuesday or most likely, as before, never. I'm so fed up with Allstate. Thank goodness, I've never had an accident while I've held a policy with them. I've seen the misery Allstate has caused others and I can't believe a company can operate like this.

I called my Allstate Ins Office to find out why I never receive any of the discounts as noted in Allstate's TV commercials. I have home & auto with them for over 30 years. I was told only new Allstate clients receive the stated discounts. So if you stay with them longer, all you get is an increase in your premiums even though you have no claims, no tickets, no accidents. They don't care, Allstate is the worst.

I find their new commercials to be very threatening and ominous. Mayhem is coming, then someone keying your car, and other similar situations. Allstate needs to take those off. It’s a terrorist tactic. Please get this message to them. Thanks.

Allstate has breached the terms of an active car insurance policy entered into by Kenneth and Sheika, particularly failure to compensate for Underinsured Motorist Insurance Benefits. Via Allstate's Claims Core Process Design, Allstate has conspired with its management consultant McKinsey & Co. to help Allstate increase its profits by manipulating the legal process, such as intentionally discouraging litigation and by delaying legal proceedings. We contend that Allstate has purposefully denied payments to claimants (Kenneth and Sheika) to minimize its liability under terms of the policy, which was in effect at the time of the claim for benefits. As a direct result of Allstate's breach of contract, we have suffered adverse affects to their credit ratings, marital relationship, earning capacity and both physical and emotional states.

On June 17th, I called Allstate Insurance for an automobile quote and spoke to Katy. I liked the quote and told Katy I still had a month to go with Geico so could we do this on July 17th? She said, "Yes." I expressly told her I could not afford to have Allstate and Geico take their money out of my checking account at the same time. She assured me this would not happen. An hour or so later, I checked my account online and Allstate had taken the money out of my checking account. The same day, Geico took their money out leaving me with a negative balance and a $29 NSF fee. My credit union paid Geico and charged me the fee.
I immediately called Katy to see what happened and told her to cancel my policy. She then informed me that Allstate could not refund my money until they had a policy number, which could take 24-48 hours. I thought this was ridiculous. When I got my insurance with Geico online, within five minutes, I had my policy number and cards, so I thought Katy must think I'm a moron. She also put my life in jeopardy. I have been a diabetic for 52 years and require insulin and syringes, which now I could not afford. Thanks to Allstate.
When I told Katy this, all she said, was "I'm so sorry." I had to borrow money from one of my neighbors for my medication. This was extremely embarrassing for me. I then ran out of gas going to work Monday and had to call AAA for assistance. Again, thanks to Allstate I didn't have any money for gas. My two cats have no food so I've had to cook them chicken to eat so they don't starve. Katy told me I would have my money back by Monday, which I didn't. I'm not going to call her back to see what lame excuse I get this time, so I've already filed a complaint with the Attorney General's Office and the BBB. I am now contacting you. Allstate must be stopped from ripping people off like this. I want my money back along with the $29 NSF fee. Thank you for your time.

Are we in good hands with Allstate? Not if we just watched your last ad. Your actor gets hit but a car lays bleeding on the ground and smiles. Well, my son was hit by a car thrown into another car and did not live to smile. Your ad was very offensive--not comforting to me or his little boy. Surely, you can sell your insurance in a more humane way. Being hit by a car is no way comforting to the remaining family. Please take this ad off the air.

I have coverage for a car rental on my policy. I was in an auto accident this year. The other party's insurance is willing to give me a rental, but my own insurance company wants to not give me coverage for what I paid out of pocket for. Anyway, I continued complaining. Finally, they gave me a reference number and told me I can pick up rental. I picked up rental and had coverage for over 30 days. I returned the vehicle in 2 weeks. The rental place told me because I didn't tell them where I was getting my car fixed, they want me to pay for the rental out of my own pocket. Nobody told me that when I went to pick up the rental. I feel that the insurance company and rental company tricked me and I should not be paying for this out of pocket anyway. I am mentally stressed out with the accident and overwhelmed. Now I am experiencing more stress and drama from my own insurance company. I already paid for this service out of pocket, why would I pay for it again? Is this not the insurance company right to pay for this service as promised?

An Allstate driver was at fault in an accident with my vehicle on 4/28/2010. It is now 6/10/2010, and my vehicle has not been fixed. It took them 2-1/2 weeks to get a statement from their client and 28 days to look at the Police Report. I was told that they would not accept "100% liability if any", only days after the accident. No one even had the facts or police report. After 30 days, they accepted 100% liability. It has been 43 days, and I am still waiting. My vehicle is drivable during the day, but one headlight is out of line. I do not feel comfortable driving after dark and with a dangling bumper. However, Allstate is in no hurry.

My Sept/09 car insurance was changed to $3,317.77 from what I was billed for $4,644.42. I wrote the check on 9/18/09. Allstate keeps telling me I still owe them money, because I cannot provide the fax receipt from the letter Tereena asked me to send her dated 9/11/09, there, she requested I write, "thank you very much for your time and consideration," saying there is nothing they can do.
I also reported on 3/10/08 to remove my husband from my policy due to his death 8/1/07. This was just done when I had to resubmit another request on 3/18/10. I am extremely disgusted w/ this whole situation and getting absolutely no help or any kind of satisfaction from the local agency. They don't seem to have a record of anything. I would like to know where I would have come up w/ the amount to write a check in Sept/09 if that was not given to me by the Allstate rep. I still have the copy of the letter.

I have had my insurance with Kevin for several years, my home, auto, boat and life insurance. I owned a 2000 Pathfinder and wrecked it in 2007. At that time I think I got $5000, they totaled it and I bought a 2008 Nissan Versa and owned an old Mustang, which I got full coverage on the Versa and liability on the Mustang, and paying for the both a little over $600 a year. In 2009, my son came home and I was going to list him as a driver sent it in, and next thing I know, I’m getting a letter from Allstate stating they had canceled my auto insurance because my son's past driving history no warning, nothing. my son decided to move out and got married and never was put on my insurance and I told Kevin I didn't want my insurance cancelled so I wouldn't add my son on as driver, and didn't have to because he left and was going to get his insurance elsewhere.
Kevin said he would talk to Allstate and let them know that my son would not be listed as a driver, which he did and I was told to get my insurance back. I needed to get reinstated, of which I was, and when I got my bill, they (Allstate) had tripled it, and they even sent me a letter saying that my rate would not change. Kevin tried talking to them for awhile and they will not go back to what it was before. Now they want me to pay $178 a month, and everywhere I call, I get a high price even when they said it would go down in July (three years since the wreck). It still is too high. Other companies say they are going by consumer report and the state I live in, etc. Back in the winter it was fine, I did hit a deer in March, but they said that wouldn't be held against me. And my son went to farm burial and got coverage for nothing, and he was the one with the past bad driving history. I haven’t had any speeding tickets, only that one wreck that was on there before I got the insurance, and when I did, they didn't raise it then.
I don't know if they got me mistaken for my son or what, but I can't afford that amount every month. The only solution I have is selling my car to my son and buying a $2000 car and get just liability on it and when it tears up, get another $2000 car. There is no way I will ever be able to own a decent auto due to this insurance mix-up. In fact, Allstate tripled it, then three weeks ago, they raised it again. I don't now how come they said everything was okay, and the minute they thought my son was going to be listed as a driver, all hell broke lose and haven’t stopped yet. I don't know who to contact to fix it. My agent said he tried and they now are going with the last quote. Of course that’s where the money is. Well, I refuse to do so and I do think when I try to get check on insurance at other places that my information is going back to these companies because of what Allstate put down. Help, any suggestions? Or can they just keep raising it and there is nothing you can do? And they wonder why people drive without insurance, insurance cost more than the auto.

In 2002, I sold a vehicle to a neighbor Donovan ** and signed over the title and issued a bill of sale. She never legally transferred the title nor did she obtain a valid registration of proper insurance. She had an accident and the VIN # on the car still showed it was owned by me even though I surrendered the tag and cancelled the insurance at the time of the sale. Allstate called me and I sent them copies of the transferred title and bill of sale.
Evidently, they dropped the ball and assigned an attorney, Robert * of Tampa, FL to sue me. I sent him copies of the documents but he too dropped the ball and obtained a judgement against me. The DMV suspended my driver's license but lifted the suspension once they reviewed my copies of the documents. The attorney then filed for a judgement suspension against my driver's license and now the DMV no longer retained copies of my documents so they granted the suspension.
Due to a hurricane, I lost my home and all important documents. Now, here I am seven years later still not permitted to drive. I am 60 years old and on Social Security Disability and losing my driving privileges causes me great distress. Why couldn't the DMV and Allstate check my full driving record to see a perfect driving record and see where the DMV suspended but then re-issued my driver license? It's obvious that they would never have re-issued the license if they did not have the documents that proved the valid and legal sale of my vehicle.

We had a person back out of a parking space fast and run into our van. We were stopped and did not even have time to beep our horn as a warning. This was last Friday. It is now a week later and Allstate's adjustor just went to look at our van at the dealership we had it towed to. The dealership is telling us the adjustor is having all used parts put on our new 2009 van we bought last year. We are also hearing they are going to say 30% of the accident was our fault. We had no way to prevent this lady from backing into us. She admitted she was in a hurry and it was her fault on the police report.
We have been without a vehicle for a whole week; so my husband has had to drive me to work everyday and pick me up. Allstate told us we would have to go to our insurance company to get a rental or pay for it ourselves, and then they would reimburse us. I cannot afford to rent a vehicle; nor do I want to put in a claim against my insurance company and have my payments go up when this was not our fault.

I was in an auto accident with one of their clients. I won't go into the detail but the police report will find their driver completely at fault. Their adjustor, Cory *, offered to pay 80% of the cost of the damage, because I was negligent for not taking defensive action. I had the right of way at a green light at an intersection, and this young girl turned left in front of my car and we collided. I had no chance of being defensive. I don't blame Cory * because I'm of the belief the action Cory is taking is based on corporate policy to reduce claims against them by 20% at the cost of the innocent. I've complained previously years ago about Aetna Health Insurance for playing the same kind of number game without going into detail. And a civil suit was filed against them and they were fined something like $240 million. I'm out of option. That is their corporate policy. A civil suit could be filed against them.

From there it was a disaster. I agreed, though reluctantly, to sign up for automatic payment withdrawal from my bank account. I paid in full with a credit card for the first 6 months.
Now that my renewal is due, the rate jumped up to almost exactly what I was paying Progressive! I called a girl, named Deanna, who is not too friendly, and who said that there was some problem with them not receiving a form. I was supposed to fill out the form to authorize the automatic withdrawal. I'd never received such a form, though they said they sent it was out in November 2009. I did, however, in April 2010, received a call from a Jessica at Allstate, stating that she needed my routing/account number to set up the automatic withdrawal of payment. I gave it to her and she said that was all she needed.
I assumed they would withdraw the same amount I had paid in November this June and that it would be easy. When I got that new price, I was mad. The girl I spoke to said that I lose the $11 discount for not having the money automatically withdrawn. Then she stated that there had been rate hikes in Florida effective in January 2010 that affected my renewal premium. She said that she saw where Jessica submitted my bank information for payment and my bank declined it. Again, I wasn't notified of this! I asked her why my bank would decline it. She gave me the last 4 digits of both the routing number and the account number. They were both the same number, and not even close to what my numbers are! Are these people just idiots?
I informed her that my name is still incorrectly spelled on my insurance cards in spite of 3 requests to change it. Also, I received no forms to fill out regarding auto-withdrawal. I did not receive any notice of a rate hike, which would have given me time to choose a different insurance company. That I didn't care about an $11 discount, keep it, because as incompetent as Allstate has been concerning my account, I wouldn't dare let them touch a penny in my bank account. The girl didn't apologize for the errors, and her attitude suggested it was my fault for not returning that form that I have never received.
Due to medical issues that are incurable, I have to live on very little money. I'm not letting them steal it out of my bank account. Taking care of things online is easiest for me. I'd gladly lose the discount to keep these people away from my bank account. The only things I have received from Allstate since I signed on with them have been letters asking me to purchase a homeowners policy. I don't own a home, and its right there in the records. I mentioned this to the girl on the phone, and she tried to talk me into buying renters' insurance. I laughed and said I don't think so, and I doubt if I stay with your company. If I don't find better insurance before mine expires, I'll send a check.

I had to make a payment on my truck after the accident and now another payment is due and I am supposed to pay it. Allstate representatives are not worried about paying my claim and the supervisor, Gerald, left a message not to get into a frenzy that this would be taken care of. Wrong. Those people had better get straightened out at Allstate and start paying up.
I am contacting the insurance commissioner and letting him know about this and I am going to let Allstate know that they owe for my truck plus 2 payments now and if I don’t get satisfaction, I will take other measures. And by the way, if Allstate looks at this, my claim number is ** and these are the extensions of all the people that I have talked to with no satisfaction. Don’t remember the name. Allstate should quit selling false insurance coverage because getting them to pay for something is worse than anything I have ever done. All their customers should go to 21st century or the general. When I actually did have an accident occur, I did not think too much of it because I was fully covered as so I thought. I called All State to make a claim and that is when I was told I have full coverage comprehension, to me full coverage is full coverage but as per All State. They have two types of full coverage. I did not have the collision coverage.
Now my vehicle is damaged and no one wants to be responsible for this mistake that occurred. I was made to believe that the bank is required to have a financed car fully covered so that the customer can drive the car out of the lot. Once I was told I was fully covered, I did not think much of it as I continued to pay my insurance, and now that I need All State services there denying my demands. I'm not quit sure who's at fault, the dealer, the bank, or All State to be exact. But somewhere along the line of getting my car insured someone made the mistake of making sure collision is in my policy which living in New York is a most probable chance of happening compared to a natural disaster or robbery occurring which is covered by comprehension.
I'm in definite need of a lawyer regarding this case, especially since someone was injured and my vehicle being damaged. I need to know if there's anything I can do to straighten this situation out because it's not right for me to think I'm fully covered and at time of need to find out the big surprise that I am not. I thought I was in good hands All State. Where's my support now!

Police was called, police report documented, and ambulance arrived on scene, my Lexus vehicle was towed away to a body shop which is being held now momentarily. Lexus is 250 has received damages on the driver side front end. Light broken and hood smashed in. While I was slowing down to less than 10 mph as I approached the red light at the crossing of W. Sam Houston Pkwy, a large SUV on my left suddenly crossed over to my lane and rammed the left side of my car. It came from a turn-left only lane, hit me, swerved to the front and stopped midway between the two lanes.
I rolled down my window and shouted at the driver of the SUV, who I thought, was having a heart attack. Why did you do that? What happened? He shouted back, “You’re on my lane.” Then a stocky elderly driver stepped out of his SUV, walked around to the right side of his vehicle to check for any damage. At this point, I also got out of the car and saw my Infiniti with the long black streak of tire mark along the left side with dents from the rear bumper to the front door. The SUV driver had the audacity to walked back toward me and said, “Go back to where you came from!” To which I replied, “You are a racist.” He refused to exchange paper, so I called 911 and reported the whole incident including a full description of the SUV.
While waiting for the dispatch to arrive, I noticed the overweight drivers face and uneasy demeanor. I asked him. Are you drunk? He just stared blankly at me. After a few minutes, he decided to return to his SUV and started his engine. I then walked to the front of the SUV and demanded again for his Auto Insurance Card. He looked at me and replied, “You’ve got my car plate number already, and drove straight forward.” I realized then that the driver of the SUV had intentionally rammed into my car because he was on the wrong lane and saw I was occupying the lane he should be on to go straight forward.Deputy Fisher from Precinct 7 arrived about an hour later.
He handed me a form to fill up for the Police Report and write down a narrative of the incident. A few minutes later, another dispatcher Deputy C, also from Precinct 7, arrived at the scene. I asked both officers to check the damage on my car for the report. Since the day had turned into night, Deputy Fisher pulled out his flashlight to reveal the damage along the left side of my car, before leaving Deputy C to take care of the investigation for the Police Report.
On November 04, 2009 - After finding Allstate as the Auto Insurance Company of the SUV driver, Stanley J. M, on the Police Report, I immediately filed a claim for the damage inflicted on my car. The representative at Allstate assigned my claim to adjuster Joseph D and scheduled me right away for inspection and appraisal the following day at their office in Sterling Auto Body Center. On November 05, 2009, Allstate appraiser Bob S meticulously and thoroughly examined the damage to my car and faxed his report, with an estimated cost to repair of $1,301.78, to Mr. D.
Mr. D was never around in his office to pick up the phone whenever I called, so that I always had to speak to some other adjusters --- Evan, R, Eleanor, James, to follow up on his investigation of the incident. On November 24, 2009, after receiving a final copy of the police report from Precinct 7, I immediately faxed it to Mr. D at Allstate to expedite his investigation.
On November 30, 2009, Mr. D. called and informed me that after reading the conflicting narratives from both parties, he made a decision to deny my claim because, quote, “there’s no reason why I should not believe my client,” and cannot rely on the truthfulness of my claim. Surprised, I asked if he had seen the damage to the SUV. He got hold of the appraisers report from the other party, and described to me where the damage as, abrasion on the right front tire and a slight scratch on the fender, which would cost $160 to fix.
When I questioned Mr. D as to how the black marks and dents on the rear bumper and side of my car came about if they weren’t from the front tires of the SUV, which was slanted towards the left side of my car as it crossed over to my lane when it struck me, he reasoned that the damage on my car was pre-existing, despite the appraisers report and photo indicating the damage was inflicted at the time of the incident. When I asked Mr. D to explain how the right front tire of the SUV could have shown abrasion, if the tire was not slanted to the right towards the left side of my car which left a long streak of black tire marks and dents as he bumped into it, he unhesitatingly replied, “We always take the side of our clients and protect them.” I was really appalled upon hearing this.
That night I called Allstate Customer Service and voiced my dissatisfaction with the decision of Mr. D. A representative was kind enough to suggest that I fax any documents to support my claim to the manager of Mr. D to reopen the case, if I had them. Having in possession a copy of an older Police Report giving a description of the incident on the SUV as told by the driver himself to Deputy C, stating that my car struck the back right of his vehicle, I decided to fax a copy to Mr. and his the manager the next morning.
On December 01, 2009, I called Allstate at around 9:00 AM and asked an adjuster James S the name of Mr. D's manager to whom I could address the fax. I described the nature of my document upon inquiry by Mr. S, before he gave me the name of Courtney J as Mr. D's manager. I then asked Mr. S to verify the statement of Mr. D that it’s Allstate’s policy to always take the side of their clients and protect them. He affirmed it saying that in a sense it’s true if one considered that the company had always believed and defended the claims of their clients.
On December 02, 2009, I called Allstate’s Customer Service to confirm Ms. Courtney J's receipt of my faxed document, which would contradict the nature of the damage on the SUV as described by Mr. D. The representative passed my call to Ms. J's voicemail after discovering that she had left early for the day. Thereby I left a request on Ms. J's voicemail for a call back.
Later, at 4PM, Mr. D called to tell me that he got a copy of my fax and wanted to change the description he gave me about the damage to the SUV because he misread the photo when he was looking at it, saying the scratch on the SUV is not at the right front side as he told me previously, but rather on the center part of the vehicle. He added that he made a mistake in giving me the appraiser’s estimate of the cost to repair.
Despite all this, he would still stand by his final decision, as it did not matter where the damage is, because he still believed his client that I changed lane and struck his SUV, regardless of my evidence. I couldn’t help telling him bluntly that the whole procedure of his purported investigation of my claim was a sham because in reality, he had already made up his mind all along without further consideration of the evidence, as presented, pointing to the truth of the matter. Ms. Courtney J never returned my call.
On December 7, 2009, I appealed my case for redress to Mr. Tom W, CEO and Chairman of Allstate in Illinois. On December 17, 2009, Mrs. A from the Executive Office of Allstate in Illinois called me up to deny my claim. On December 21, 2009, I faxed my complaint letter to the Consumer Protection Unit of Texas Department of Insurance, which forwarded my letter of complaint to Allstate in Texas. On December 31, 2009, I filed my case against the reckless driver Stanley J. M in a Small Claim Court in Houston.
On February 19, 2010, Texas Department of Insurance informed me that my case with Allstate is beyond its jurisdiction after receiving a reply from Ms. B of Allstate, who refuted everything I wrote in my letter. The Department advised me to file my case with a Small Claim Court if I want it resolved. On February 16, 2010, Small Claim Court notified me of a Jury Trial, as requested by Allstate, scheduled on Tuesday 8 June 2010 at 01:00 PM at Precinct 7, Place 2 in Houston.\

We responded to Allstate's commercial stating switching could save you up to 503.00 a year. We were written policies for home and multiple automobiles which indeed was significantly less expensive than Farmers Insurance (we had been with them for more than 10 years). By the following year, our auto insurance had increased, with the explanation of an across the board increase. Also, our homeowners policy had been rewritten for an increase of more than 300.00. We have had no claims, no increase in coverage. Again, the explanation was an across the board increase. Allstate's practice is deceiving. They quote low rates with the full intention of increasing rates shortly after.

I just wanted to say that your office in New Roads is very trashy. They have a consortium towing company in the same building. The parking lot fills up with water during a big rain you can't make it to the building to pay your bill. I will move my insurance company if Allstate can't do better than that.

I have been an Allstate customer for some years, living in Danbury, Connecticut. I recently relocated to New York, so I called my Allstate agent, Mr. Noorddin ** (Danbury office), on February 22 to ask him to quote me a revised premium for my residing in New York. He said that he would call me by 10 a.m. on February 23 with the information. He did not. I obtained quotes from other insurers and called M on February 24 to abort my Allstate renewal (due on February 27). He said that he could not effect that in time to stop my Allstate Easy Pay Plan debit to my checking account.
That evening, I called Allstate at 9:49 p.m. EST. I spoke with a representative who identified himself as Troy. He took the details of my request to stop the Easy Pay debit to my bank account.
This morning, when I went to make my car loan payment, I discovered that the Easy Pay debit had been posted to my bank account on March 1. I immediately called the 800 number (8:31 a.m. EST) and spoke with a representative who identified himself as Joe. He confirmed that my request to cancel participation in Easy Pay had been recorded on February 25, but stated that the renewal of my policy had not been cancelled and that he would process that and the company would send me a refund of premium check in the mail in 2 weeks!
I objected strenuously to that and demanded to speak to his Supervisor. Initially, he said that there was no one to whom I could speak, then (after a long delay) he transferred me to a person named Gwen, in Resolution Support. This lady kept insisting that there was nothing she could do until the cancellation of my policy posted in the system, which would take 48 hours at which point a check refund would be requested that would take 2 weeks! When I threatened to file a police report, charging the company, her, Troy and M with theft, then she said that she would expedite the refund by March 5.
The company's performance, in this instance, has been preposterous. My requests were not met. Modern electronic systems do not require 48 hours to process a transaction. The company took $550.19 out of my bank account without authority that is theft. I wish to file a formal complaint against each of the Allstate employees named above.

I have had several claims over the years with Allstate and have been completely satisfied. At least in Illinois my experiences have been that they have paid their claims quickly and fairly. Whenever I see trial or plaintiff attorneys making comments about good companies like you did about Allstate, I can't help but think that it is completely self-serving.
Allstate will settle directly with an injured party without the need of an attorney. The same amount that is offered to an attorney represented person is the same amount offered to an unrepresented person. Only the unrepresented person gets to keep a third more of their settlement. Guess what? Many of the plaintiff attorneys in my area are insured by Allstate! Live like the rest of us in these hard economic times and stop being a cry baby because you can't squeeze more money out of claim for yourself. Have a nice day.

I found out yesterday that Allstate was dropping my auto coverage due to the fact I had one claim in 2007. I've been with them for the past fours years. You're in good hands with Allstate-- if you never make any claims. They are always happy to take your money but make a claim and they'll drop you first chance they get. First of all, the claim was due to the fact that someone hit my car while it was parked and they did not leave their info. Also I've been paying a gold member premium which is suppose to cover me under their accident forgiveness clause and that my premium would not increase. I spoke to Lilian. After talking to me for half and hour, she transferred me to someone else who said they are going to review my case and would call me back. I have not heard from them.

My claim was filed on 10-17-09 and I am now going to a 3rd party to appraise my truck. They won't agree on anything to get my truck fixed. When I filed my claim on 10-17, I went to have my truck appraised and they told me they could not properly estimate the damage to the truck because it was too old and to take it to a paint shop and have it estimated. I have a 1963 ford F100 unibody that has been restored with a new paint job only on the truck six months when it was vandalized and keyed the entire way around the truck.
I then took the truck for the damage to be estimated and the business estimated the damage and repairs at $7600. My agent then told me this was not reasonable and I would have to take it to the original person that painted it. According to TX state law, an insurance company cannot tell a customer where to take their vehicle to get it fixed. She then called my body shop and told them their services were not needed and that I was going to take it back to the guy that painted it the first time, without even talking to me. After fighting them on this and telling them I would take my truck to this body shop and not the one they were trying to force me into, they set me up with another agent to do another appraisal.
Allstate's appraiser did not look at the truck for more than a couple of minutes and did not take into account anything that had been done to the truck. I had a new paint job new upholstery, new stereo system, and many other new parts. I have since had two other appraisers look at the truck and they estimated it at around $15000. Her estimate had my truck at around $5000, there is no reason for there to be this much difference. She then went on to tell me my truck was going to be totaled out and that I was to drop it off at an auction warehouse. This truck means a lot to me and I want it fixed. I have comprehensive full coverage just in case something like this happens. I chose to fight them on this and take it to a third party according to Allstate's terms and conditions.
I have my appraisers and Allstate hired their own and both sides have to choose a third party mediator. My side requested a county judge and Allstate refused they would not allow a judge as the third party. They gave my side a list of 3rd party people to choose from. I don't understand why both sides could not agree on a county judge except for the fact that they want to use someone that they know will side with them. Judges have to and are sworn to uphold the law. I have called Allstate again issuing complaints because of this and the have told me they cannot contact their appraiser and I cannot do anything about it because when they start a third party, both sides are left out.
They are not doing anything to resolve this and have now told me I cannot either. I just want my truck fixed and repaired properly. I contacted the Better Business Bureau and Allstate then agreed to have a 3rd party appraisal done. They didn't follow through with this though. I had to contact the BBB in two weeks to let them know if Allstate resolved this. They set up the appraisal to document that they were making efforts to resolve this and they never even contacted the appraiser with the local PDA to find out what his appraisal was.

On September 17, 2009 I was involved in a car accident where I was stopped at an intersection and the car behind me did not stop. The driver of that car was insured by Allstate. She hit me going about 40 mph. The force of the crash caused me to hit the guy in front of me. My car, a 2006 Toyota Corolla, received majority of the damage since it was the smallest between the three cars. After getting a police report and the gal who hit me was ticketed for the accident, my car was towed from the scene. Immediately after that I went to the chiropractor because I could feel pain down my back and in my neck. I began 6 weeks of treatment on that day.
I was upfront with Allstate telling them I was receiving chiropractic care for my injuries. I was informed by the adjustor that they would not pay anything until the claim was settled and that they would probably not pay all my medical bills because chiropractors always over-charge. At that point I was in enough pain I just wanted to lay on the couch and recover, so I did not press the matter. I heard from the adjustor about every 2 weeks. During these calls he was rude and constantly putting chiropractors down. It got to the point that he was just annoying and I dreaded his calls. I was unaware at the time that I could tell him to not call me; it was, after all, my first accident and time dealing with insurance companies in this way. I used my Med-pay on my insurance to cover the doctor appointments because they wanted to be paid. After I was released from treatment, the beginning of November, I called my adjustor to begin the process of settling the claim.
Two days later he called me back and told me what my total medical bills came to and how Allstate felt it was an over charge and would not pay for all of them, leaving me about $800 short. The adjustor told me to talk the doctor into charging less and if he wouldn't, then I had to fill out all sorts of paperwork. In reality my medical bills were not that much and I see no reason why Allstate would be giving me so much trouble. After all I have every right to seek the medical treatment I want. The only reason I was there that many times for 6 consecutive weeks was because the person Allstate insures was not paying attention and failed to stop. But Allstate twisted it around and has made me feel like it was my fault. After doing some research I found out that I do not have to file all that paperwork and that I just had to give the doctor’s office the name and number of the adjustor and they could legally talk to him.
Allstate has continued to give me the runaround and false information. Every conversation I have had with them, they have focused it on what they were not going to pay and only after I asked directly what they were offering in a settlement did they tell me. On top of what they felt they should pay for medical, they offered $1,000 in pain in suffering. That's $1,000 for 6 weeks of cancelled activities, of lying on the couch in too much pain to do much of anything. After doing the math I figured they are paying me a penny for every minute of pain, for 6 weeks, that this accident caused. I have felt totally taken advantage of.I took this to a lawyer who told me it was not worth his time and that typically lawyers getting involved in cases like this does nothing.
I have seen a chiropractor all my life and he said most people see this as having a pre-existing condition. Even though I have only seen them for check ups and that I have had no injuries to my back and neck in the past. He suggested I take the money and run. I called the Allstate adjustor back one week ago and left a message saying when he could offer me a fair settlement I would love to talk to him. I have not heard anything from him. I guess I can do nothing for two years, but I would really love to put this whole situation behind me and get back to life.
Oh, one last thing. My car, before the accident, was worth about $13,000-15,000. It cost Allstate over $10,000 to fix it. By all the calculations I can find, my car should have been totaled. This whole situation has left a very bad taste in my mouth. I, in no way, feel like I have been in good hands will Allstate. And this one experience with them has caused me to never even look into buying Allstate insurance. I will pay a lot extra to never have to deal with them again. If they treat me, an innocent victim, like this, I wonder how they treat the people they insure.

I was involved in an auto accident on Sunday, December 27, 2009. The other vehicle involved was cited for failure to yield. The owner of the other vehicle was insured with Allstate. They have been untimely, unfriendly, and trying in every way possible to find me at fault for the accident when the police report clearly states that the owner of the other vehicle involved is at fault. They have still not accepted liability for this accident and have refused for me to have a rental car as well. I have lost my job as a result of lack of transportation.

Our daughter was hit by a car, thrown on the roof of the car, driven down the road and dumped in the street while the car kept driving on. She was 12 years old. We knew we had insurance to help her and the whole family through this most difficult time. We did... but the insurance company would make us fight for every penny. We fought for 14 years - won, lost, won and in the end lost. Here's the problem:
Insurance companies are not required to disclose whether their personal umbrella excess liability policies apply to the uninsured motorist's portion of a policy. If the umbrella policy is not linked to the uninsured motorist the insurance company should advise the customer that they may go outside the insurance company to purchase such a policy that is linked to the in insure motorist portion. Such umbrella policies can be issued on a standalone basis under current California law. An insurance company does not have a legal or moral obligation to advise customers of such a large gap in their families coverage leaving customers exposed to tremendous loss to their loved ones.
We thought we were covered. We were told so; we paid our claims. We called several times throughout the years. We were reassured that in fact we were covered. Then the accident... and suddenly, we are not fully covered! The cover up started. This is where most people give up and give in. They have no choice and they know if they fight, they can never win. That's the game. Wear them down; wear them down. Include many loopholes to protect "the money" and paint a story that will not only be legal and believable but it will create doubt to the person who originally got the insurance in the first place! Wear them down; wear them down... that's the game.
After a brain injury and 7 years of working hard to get her brain to function normally, such as depression, chronic neck pain, back pain, our beautiful girl healed as much as she will ever heal. She still needs medication, still has chronic back pain and still has intense neck pain. And yet the insurance company decided (instead of paying us what they thought our policy amount was) to make us an offer. Okay, your policy is $250,000. We will pay you $6,000. Do I hear $7,000? How about $7,500? The full amount was not given without a fight - a twelve-year fight that included lawyers, judges, law firms and multiple hours of work on everyone's part. Wear them down; wear them down - that's the game.
In America, insurance companies are legal criminals. They are allowed to lie, cheat and steal. The lawyers for the insurance company stated in a court of law that my husband and I actually convinced our daughter that she had a brain injury and that we took her to the doctor to convince her that she had an injury! Can you imagine?! Lie! They paid a doctor on the stand in a court of law to change his medical diagnosis submitted at the time of the accident. The doctor (bribed with money by the insurance company) changed his medical opinion and in fact said that being struck by a car to a little girl's 85-pound body would produce no greater injury than when one falls off a bike. Lie! Lie!
After all the lies, we proved in court that she had injuries. That took twelve years! Wear them down; wear them down. We are awarded 1.4 million dollars in damages. The insurance company appealed- back to nothing. Now it becomes a contest as to who is lying. Did my husband get this insurance with his agent many years ago prior to the accident or did the agent give the policy to me, his wife who was not even in the room? Was my husband sane or was he as they said, incapacitated? Lie! Lie! The game now has changed and the evil company will twist and turn to get what they want - the money!
Next was the jury. We will be tried by our peers in a court of law. Ha! The system is a joke in every sense of the word. Thirty people are called to duty. Half of them raise their hands when asked by the judge if they have had trouble with their insurance company. They were all eliminated. Then, you are left with the ones who are sick, can't stay still for an hour, can't miss work, do not have a babysitter, are mental incapacitated and generally do not want to be there for 4 days. We were left with 6 jurors that were frankly not bright enough to understand insurance laws, the full story of our 14 years fight, and loved the soap opera drama that the insurance company presented to them, the kind that is seen all too often on reality TV today, even though it was as far from the truth as possibly imaginable. It was riddled with misconceptions, make believe stories, tricks to make you say things that are not what you wanted to say. All this was to substantiate their lies and out and out outrageous claims that were simply so far from the truth that I had to wonder how we got to these facts.
How did the game get so twisted? In a court of law, where was the truth, honesty, integrity that are to be the foundation of our system? I found just the opposite was true. It was horrific to watch. It left me feeling sick to my stomach. You see, all of us think we are insured. We think we are safe and protected. The insurance companies will take our money but if something happens to us, not only will they never give you the money promised they will offer you a small amount to make you go away. They will lie, cheat and steal. They will wear you down. They will find every loophole possible and use it. They will twist the real truth. They will spend more money to break you down than it would have taken to pay the claim. They will find the most despicable people to represent them, as ugly on the outside as they are on the inside and they will stop at nothing to make sure you get nothing.
What kind of a country do we live in where insurance companies can get away with their lies and criminal activities? Where is the justice for the victims and their families? If we, as a family, did not have money to help our daughter and to pay out of pocket millions of dollars for her care, she would be dead. What kind of country do we live in where justice will be determined by criminal companies, by a jury that doesn't want to be there and can't understand difficult issues and laws, with a judge that sleeps while the trial is going on, a jury that sleeps when important information is being presented and an insurance company that plays their evil games to win? For them, it is a game. How long can we keep the money? How hard will they fight for the policy they bought? How much can they endure? When will they break? Wear them down; wear them down. This is the game in the Unites States of America.

On the back of the envelope that Allstate sent me, it had said that Aflac no longer occupies this unit. They got my personal information that was not given to them.

I had a Windstar minivan and the other is a 1999 4-door Nissan Maxima GXE. I took my policy off my Nissan because it had technical problems and I could not drive it. So it sat in front of my home for about a month and a half. On Nov. 3rd, 2009, I returned the Windstar to the dealership and had the Nissan fixed. That same day, on Nov. 3rd, 2009, I went to Allstate and told them to transfer my policy over to the Nissan Maxima and cancel the policy on the Windstar. I was told that before they could honor my request, I had to pay up the $120 balance I owed on the Windstar and I did.
I was told by Melissa the transfer was done but because they were having trouble with the computer, it was not letting her see it and she could not print me a statement but I could come back in a few days and pick up my paper work. If not, then it would be mailed to me anyway. About 3 weeks went by and I did not receive any paperwork. Instead, I received a bill for the Windstar for $120 so I went to the Allstate office and was told the transfer was still not showing up but not to worry because I was covered for the Nissan. I then asked if I had the same full coverage like I had on the Windstar and again was told, it wasn't showing up but I didn't have to worry because even though it was not showing up on the computer, I was still covered on the Nissan.
On Dec. 1st, I received an automated call stating if I did not pay my bill for the Windstar, my policy would be terminated so I went back to Allstate and asked Melissa what was going on. Then Melissa looked on the computer and said she could not find any record of the transfer. I was very upset and told them to fix it because this meant I was driving without knowledge for a whole month without any coverage on my car. Melissa, without an apology, printed a replace and remove receipt for me and told me to just pay the $120 and the adjustment would be made at a later date. I refused to pay for a month that I was not covered for and was still very upset that I was driving around all that time uninsured. I was told if I did not pay, my policy would be terminated with Allstate. So reluctantly, I paid $120 and now I am being told if I don't pay $168.97, I will be terminated.
I am at a loss and I know I am being taken advantage of. Please help me. I need my insurance and because I am a fairly new driver, I cannot afford the prices of other insurance companies.

On March 11, 2009, my daughter was driving my car and was sideswiped by a driver who carried Allstate Insurance. He entered the left turn lane early (I have proof of this from both Allstate and the police report) and then went over the double yellow lines and hit her, causing her to hit another car. The claims adjuster at Allstate, Darcie **, continued to lie and twist issues around. Therefore, after several months I decided to take them to small claims court.
When it was my turn to speak in court, the attorney, Richard **, allowed me to present nearly the entire case in front of the judge, and then suddenly interrupted, pulling a copy of a case out of his backpack (he did not have a briefcase). He had pulled this case up off Reuters from the internet. It was Court of Appeals of Utah (Davis County, Plaintiff and Appellant v. Progressive Northwestern Insurance Co, as the insurer of James **, defendant). The case was dated Nov. 14, 2008 and Mr. ** handed both the judge and I a copy of this case pulled up from Westlaw.com. He had highlighted page 4, paragraph 2 which in a less complicated version stated that I needed to sue the person that hit her first, and that if that wasn't successful, then I could sue Allstate insurance.
I cannot find any laws or codes that say this in Utah, but I have yet to go to the law library. But I cannot get the Utah Bar to email me back regarding this (I emailed Richard **, the associate director). I feel as though something is not correct in the way that Mr. ** behaved, and I would like some correct answers, as well as to know how I can get my $4018 from Allstate so that I can fix my car.

I kept enough money for the May 16 auto payment, but then had a minimum amount of money in that account. She did not honor my request, as she said she would when we spoke. The June 16 payment hit my account which caused three very small transactions to go into overdraft, costing me $105 in service fees. I spoke to Pat **. He said to fax a copy of my bank statement and he would see what he could do to help me recover some of my fees. This was in June. To date, he has not called me back, I've left two messages for him. I finally spoke to Fran on August 25 and she acted like this was the first she was hearing about this, although when I spoke to Pat, he said he would talk to her to see what happened.
I would like for these two inept insurance underwriters be responsible for the fees they cost me, as it was their responsibility to cancel the auto draft feature, which Fran told me she would take care of. I even told her I would get with her to make the June payment and she was in total agreement with me that she would take care of it.

This correspondence is with reference to Policy Number ** which we had considered on 17th July, 2009, from Representative Nunzio ** of Allstate Insurance Company.
On the afternoon of July 17, 2009, I was solicited for auto insurance from an Allstate Insurance Company Representative named Nunzio **. I had specifically described my current financial situation and concerns, before he explained how he could reduce my coverages. He explained that I could abandon my current insurance provider, (Erie) with a balance still owed of $1,050.00. I unambiguously explained that my insurance would expire on midnight of July 19th, 2009.
Mr. ** then instructed me to sign paperwork to get the process of transitioning to Allstate started, which included some personal information including that of my bank account. He sustained his position repeatedly that nothing would be charged until the policy had binded, and nothing would bind until my new policy was in effect. I explained that I could not sign the paperwork because I am currently disabled and unable to drive due to an injury at work. He then asked if I had a fax machine. I responded “No, but my wife does at work.”
He then contacted and instructed my wife to sign my name to the documents he had faxed to her work. Shortly after, I called my current provider and asked for the few days grace as Mr. ** had previously instructed me to do. They denied me this action stating that I would need to pay for the whole month in which, once again, Mr. ** instructed me to do and then cancel once his policy took effect, which defeated the purpose of trying to save money.
At this point, I was quite drained and frankly suspicious of Mr. **’s intentions, so I immediately called and told him I was not interested in the policy. I had also realized at this time that he had debited my bank account for $314.98. He deceived my wife into singing a document with my name, in which I have enclosed a copy that is clearly not my signature! I repeatedly called and demanded that the monies taken be placed back into my account. Mr. ** agreed and asked me to come by his office on Saturday. However, I had already explained that I was disabled and could not drive.
Monday, July 20th, I called his office again and was instructed by his secretary, Lauren, to sign another paper stating that I didn’t want the insurance (even though I had already explained this several times). I complied with their wish so I could replenish the funds in my account. I was told the monies would be refunded, but by this time my account was already debited by Allstate. Many of my checks that I had pending over drafted my account and I incurred many fees of $27 each.
As I had previously stated and explained to Mr. **, I am on a very strict budget due to my recent injury and I feel that while Mr. ** was aware of my situation. He took advantage of me by way of bad business ethics and representing Allstate Insurance Company in an unscrupulous manner, in which I don’t think they would want to be portrayed. All I ever asked is for Mr. ** to refund my money, which to date (July 31, 2009) has not yet been received, with the overdraft fees incurred. I have enclosed copies of the correspondences between Mr. **’s organization and myself, as well as some bank statements. I was also contacted by Mr. ** on July 28 at 2:28pm via his cell phone, (I have a phone record) wherein he stated that he would have “taken care of all of the charges” if I didn’t call the corporate office.
Now, I gathered all the money I could, but because of Mr. **’s misleading sales pitch, I am still in the negative. I’m requesting that in addition to the $314.98, that Mr. ** pay the additional $216.00 for overdraft fees. The Allstate slogan is “You’re in good hands.” Well, this cannot be true when you have people like Mr. ** in your organization. Since my injury, I have nothing but time on my hands and therefore, this will be the first of several correspondences that I will write until I feel justice is done.
I currently have a homeowner’s policy with Allstate that I am considering cancelling due to the poor service I have encountered with Mr. **. We had hoped for a long lasting working relationship with Allstate Insurance Company, but in view of the careless handling of your associate, we may have to seriously re-consider our intentions. I request you to kindly look into the matter at the earliest and send us a reply as soon as possible.

I handle finances for my 78 year old mother who still drives. She has been insured with Allstate for years. She received an inquiry from Allstate as to her mileage on her car. She thought it was junk mail and tossed it. When it was time to pay her insurance bill, her rates had risen by $100. When I asked why, I was told that it was because the survey was not filled out. I asked them if they noted on the survey that if it was not completed that the insured's rates would rise. He said "no", that's a good idea.
Apparently, if my mother drives her car more than 5,000 miles a year, her rates rise. Without a response to the survey, they raised her rates to the highest level for someone who drives 12,000 miles per year. I got the current mileage and was able to get them to lower the rate by $30. Now, I have to show them proof that she doesn't drive over 5,000 miles a year to get the rate that we have had. Ridiculous! My mother was livid. She says, "What do I have a car for and pay insurance for if they limit the amount I can drive?!" She may be old, but she's definitely not stupid. She's absolutely right. This practice is ridiculous!

I had traded in my car for a 2008 and had called Allstate to get prices. I also knew that I was up for renewal and wanted to get rates. I was first quoted by Kelly at $700 something for insurance and I told her that I wanted to check around. She said to let her check also and she would get back to me. I talked to her again and I was quoted $663. I decided to stay with Allstate since I had been with them for a couple of years. Anyway, I had to give them a payment of $110 on the 5th of June even though my payment was not due until the 19th to get that rate. I did and then a couple of weeks later, I received in the mail a new payment form. Instead of being charged $110 a month, I was being charged $124 the 2nd month and $111 each month after. I called and the response I got was that they had to carry some money over on the new policy. I decided then to get a new insurance carrier.
I signed up with Progressive on the 16th of July and immediately called Allstate and talked to Ashley. She told me I couldn't cancel until I sent her proof of my new insurance company. Immediately, I faxed her not once but twice that I wanted the insurance canceled immediately and the proof of insurance. When I talked to her, I asked her twice if I would be charged anything else and she assured me that I would not be. I never heard anything, so on the 20th, I called her and asked if my insurance had been cancelled and she said yes and that I would be getting a refund of $75. This morning, I went online and was charged the $124 and since I didn't put enough money in this account, I was charged overdraft of $66. She misled me as did Kelly. I called Allstate this morning and talked to someone and they told me that the senior management would have to look at this and get back to me in 24 to 48 hours as they were not able to help me. Do not trust this group of individuals.

In Feb. 2009, I purchased auto insurance from my local Allstate agent and got what I thought was a great rate of $350/6mo. I paid it in full up front. In March, I sold the car I originally insured and purchased one of my company vehicles. I immediately went to the AS office and they swiftly changed the insurance to cover the vehicle I just purchased. At no time did I have two vehicles that needed insuring.
Skip ahead 20 days or so and I start getting letters from AS, one of which was a request that I go to their branch office and provide proof of prior insurance. I did exactly what they asked, despite the fact that I had already provided said proof when I originally purchased insurance from them (I don't see how I would have gotten a policy otherwise). I went to the local office, showed them proof of my prior insurance coverage and they told me that everything was okay - no worries.
The next two letters I got from them went unopened because AS has been flooding my mailbox with solicitations for me to buy their other insurance policies. As far as I was concerned, the next letter I need to open would be the bill for the next six months of coverage. Fast forward to July 17th. I called the local office to find out if they had sent me a bill, only to have them tell me that my policy had been cancelled effective June 5th, 2009. They also informed me that a check had been sent to me from AS back in April for the amount remaining on my policy after cancellation. Suffice it to say I was stunned.
I went to the office and they basically said that I failed to supply proof of prior insurance, although they have records of me providing it. I figured this had to be a simple misunderstanding because my driving record is completely clean and I paid the first six months upfront. I then offered to buy a new policy while we straighten out what happened with the old one. They informed me that a new policy would be $900/6mo. I went home and found the two pieces of mail from AS. Mailing #1 (sent on 04/07/09) informed me that they adjusted my policy up by $45 and that I had to make a payment by 04/25/09. Mail #2 (sent on 04/20/09) was the $110 check informing me that my policy was cancelled.
How in the hell can they cancel the policy before the due date? No one in the local AS office could answer a single question about this affair other than to say that AS corporate did not accept my proof of prior insurance. I was immediately forced to find new car insurance and because AS had cancelled mine more than 30 days prior, the new policy was twice as much as the $350 I had allocated for the next payment. This is a total scam and I cannot be the only person this has happened to. There's a class action lawsuit in here somewhere.

My son took his car to an adjuster in Baltimore where he lives. They did not hand him a check, but said their check machine was broken, and they would mail the check. So that was a few weeks ago. On July 12, I called my agent to find out why my son did not receive his check. She informed me that his car had liability insurance only and that he would not be getting a check to fix his car. We had been with Allstate just under a year. After not having a chargeable accident in at last 40 years, had to file a claim last Sept. when my car was acting up and I didn't make it across a busy street, and got t-boned. The premium on my car (we have 2 cars with them) went up $37 a month. Okay. Fine! Problem is, we have had a hard time keeping up with the premiums and have been late a few times, but always caught up. This time, we got late by 60 days and they canceled us, but didn't terminate us. I was told by the useless agent (that I never picked, isn't local, and only called if my payment was late) that the policy was canceled, but not terminated, not for another 5 days. 3 days before the termination date, we came up with the past due, the previous month plus the current month.
Problem is we made a split payment, part credit card and part check-by-phone. Well, they applied the credit card payment, alright, and got their previous month's premium, but they screwed around and didn't post the check-by-phone for 3 days, until it was too late for "reinstatement". In the mean time, I am on the phone constantly, first with the agent, who never called back with any information, as they kept promising, and then Allstate's customer service. Finally, I got a hold of one of Allstate's senior supervisors, who looked at the timeline and said we paid, alright, qualified for reinstatement, and should not be terminated.
All this time we are driving with no insurance, and getting no information or callbacks. The supervisor tells me that we qualify for reinstatement, based on the fact that we did indeed pay the entire amount, 3 days before termination date, but Allstate dragged their feet and made sure the second part of our payment (check-by-phone) didn't post for 3 days. Sure enough, I finally get 3 pieces of mail from them, all sent 1 day before termination date, one saying we were canceled (duh, we knew that), one saying we were terminated (same date, 2 days after our payments, and 1 day before the termination date), and a refund check, all dated the same time, 1 day before termination date and 2 days after our payment attempts. No one ever called back as promised, to let us know the status.
I finally got a hold of the agent (senior supervisor at Allstate), who had promised also, to call, who let me know that they denied the reinstatement request, supposedly because the entire past due was 'not made on time'. I have a confirmation number on both payment methods, the credit card and the check-by-phone, and even their timeline shows they were made the same day, but Allstate conveniently posted the one (got their past due premium), and conveniently didn't post the second part, which would have prevented the termination (or at least, got a reinstatement).
Of course, we have been "invited" to apply for a new policy, going through all the crap necessary, including physicals on the cars, and at least 25% higher premiums and there is no guarantee that we would even be accepted. Don't tell me they didn't post the balance of our payment until too late, in order to drop us.
So we have been without insurance for almost a month, been treated like mushrooms (kept in the dark and fed horse manure), denied reinstatement of our insurance. We are now forced to find insurance elsewhere and have the disadvantage of having lapsed coverage (which gets you criminal treatment when you go looking), and will have to pay through the nose for what we do get. Have wasted an enormous amount of time on this affair, and been without coverage for almost a month. Plus, according to State law, they have to report that we have no coverage, and the state can yank our driver licenses. Why not just shoot us, and be done with it?

I have had insurance from Allstate. Since I was 16 years old, I have never had a problem until now. I was in an accident on June 17, 2009 at 5 am. I reported the claim on June 17, 2009 at 3:30 pm. I hit my SUV. I went through the claim process and made my appointment for Friday. The next day, I got a call saying that they will be unable to cover my cars because they cancelled my insurance on May 31, 2009. I was not notified about this at any time.
I had a problem with getting my bill since I started my 2nd six months on this policy and I was unaware that they upped my rate for no reason. I had contacted 1800allstate in March to find out what my payment was and they told me it had not changed. Then on my wedding day, they called me to tell me I was short $42 and some change and if it wasn’t paid by the 31st of May that I wouldn't have insurance. So I gave the girl my card number so it would be straightened out until I was done with my honeymoon.
The guy I have been dealing with has told me that he is looking into it but he had no record of any payment until the 16th of June. They had my check on May 29th so it took them that long time to cash my check. He can't explain why they are still cashing my checks if I have not canceled my insurance. Then they are taking my money and not providing a service.
So now, I am stuck not being contacted and tell me that my insurance was cancelled. Now, being 18 day past the cancellation day, they won’t fix my cars because someone [messed] up on their end. I have two damaged cars and have no insurance to cover because someone didn't process a payment that I made the day of my wedding. What is the point of paying for something that once you need it the next day, they will call and say “sorry but we won’t cover it,” when they cash a check the day before?

I strongly agree with the poster who advised you are not in good hands with Allstate. My primary complaint with them is they consider the police report invalid if their client is at fault, or at least that has been our experience with them. Secondary complaints are lack of communication and respect to the third parties involved. Here is our experience with them that we continue to work diligently for a resolution.
I was involved in a car accident and the other driver carried Allstate as his insurance. A police report was filed at the scene of the accident and the other driver was found at fault. This accident occurred nearly 6 weeks ago and we just received the claim check from Allstate. We have called Allstate numerous times prior to receiving the check and we just recently was able to speak with our claim representative. Her response to us when we inquired why we haven't received our check yet - she acted surprised and asked if we received it yet. Umm, no, that's why we are calling Allstate to follow up.
At this point, several weeks already passed. Thank goodness the car is still drivable. It seems they forgot to send the check and we eventually received it. We were shocked to see they only sent us a check for half the damage and no explanation included with the check! I guess this explains why our rep was avoiding all of our phone calls. After following up with a manager, our claim rep failed to communicate that she decided to only approved it for half the estimate and felt it in her right to split the liability 50/50 between the 2 drivers, in spite of having a police report indicating their driver was the only one at fault.
When the manager reviewed the police report, she started to back pedal when she saw the other driver was the one who was cited and advised she would have to speak with the claim rep before providing any extra information. We are still working to get this mess cleaned up. Also, Allstate has sat on this money so long that our estimate is now expired which they are fully aware since they have a copy of this estimate in their file. It's beyond frustrating the hoops you have to jump through for them to honor the claim when their driver is the one at fault.
This extra stress caused by Allstate is unnecessary and definitely not appreciated during my third trimester of pregnancy. And the sad thing is we have Allstate service in one of our insurance policies, but after this ordeal, we will never rely or pay Allstate to keep us in good hands. They are going to lose, and continue to lose good customers over these minor insurance claims for the sake of holding onto this money as long as they feel they can get away with it. The interest they have made by continuing to delay our full, entitled payment is going to be very minor for them once they compare to how much money they will really lose when we make an educated decision to not renew our current or any future policy with them.

I bought and paid up front for 6 months of auto insurance on a 7-year old car. It has low mileage, good discounts, great driving record, never had an accident, and so on. The sales rep was very helpful and got me very good discounts. I just received notice in mail that this policy was canceled and money was refunded only 10 days after purchase. I called the 800 number. I got India. I asked for America, got transferred to yet another state (planet?), and finally got through after 20 minutes to someone who finally tracked the problem to some paperwork problem.
They would not renew the policy and I would have to purchase a new one. I was transferred to a new sales agent. 10 minutes later I got a quote that was double the original policy. The reason: my policy had been canceled. I asked and spoke to a supervisor. Yet I got another customer support rep and got the same response--all because they messed up some paperwork somewhere and would not fix the problem. I am going to lose my job because of these bozos. I need my car to do my job, so I guess it's off to GEICO or another shady insurance outfit for some cut rate garbage.

I switch my insurance company and went to Allstate on March 16, 2009. My agent's name is Dominique. I gave her every paper she requested from me and my previous insurance company which is Ocean Harbor. I paid all fees plus one month in advance and set for automatic withdrawal each month.
I got my insurance cards, my policy; everything in the mail. In May 2009, I got a letter from Allstate stating my policy will be cancelled on July 9, 2009 because they did not receive the proper paper from my previous insurance company. I called Allstate and spoke with a rep. He told me to fax the declaration page, which I did. Now I am told it is required by Allstate for me to have Bodily Injury insurance before I can have a policy with them. I was never told that before I was signed and I provided my agent with my previous insurance policy that clearly shows I didn't have that.
I had only PIP and damage insurance. Now if that is a requirement for Allstate, why was I not told at the beginning and why did I receive a policy from Allstate in the first place.

Allstate has advised me that they are refusing to pay all my chiropractic bills, because they say they are above customary charges. My chiropractor said his prices have been the same for the last 10 years, and has not had any problem in getting them paid. Since Allstate refuses to pay for his bill, he has put a lien on my settlement. Allstate told me they could not pay me for lost work going to and from the doctor, or the hours I had to lie on my back with ice and heat after seeing him.
They have only offered me $1,800; $400 of which they owe my doctor, and that leaves me with $1,400, after an accident which cost $5,500 to get my car fixed, when I was stopped at a red light, and their client hit me. That was the total back half of my car. Don't you think I got hurt with impact injuries? This was not a bumper to bumper little hit. I am still having trouble with my neck and back, and now my legs are swelling and Allstate said they would not consider anything else, but giving me that lousy claim for $1,400.
I have fibromyalgia, chronic insomnia, and I am chronically fatigued, and this has made my depression, since I am bipolar, much greater, just knowing I am getting cheated and intimidated by this company, because they don't want to do the right thing. I ordered a book on low impact injuries (of which mind was not low impact), and after I plugged in the numbers for the car, rental car, doctor bills, and my loss of work, the claim that came up was $11,000 to $16,000.
I now have to go for an MRI on my legs, and if they are refusing to pay my chiropractic bills now, how can I go back to him if the bills won't get paid? He has always been my doctor for the past 20 years. Please advise as to how this claim should be handled, because I know they will give you as little as they can, and make millions off of what they put in their pockets.

Allstate Claims office failed miserably with customer service on my claim. They erroneously paid out to the other driver involved in a minor/non-injury accident, without what I believe was an investigation. They took statements from both of us, but did not take photos of my car or the street where the accident happened. There was no police report. Furthermore, I had a witness and he was not interviewed. The Claims office sent me a letter (after weeks of no contact) stating they had found the accident 100% my fault for an illegal lane change. I immediately contacted a supervisor and disputed the process, and how it was handled. The supervisor acknowledged poor customer service and apologized. I then wrote a letter disputing their findings. The street this happened on has one way traffic in each direction, therefore I could not have made an illegal lane change. I feel very frustrated with the handling of this claim and want this report filed officially with an outside agency.

On March 30, 2009, at 1430 EST, I was in my 2000 Ford Mustang (red) driving in the far right lane of a three-lane road when I hit a white F-150 going at least 40mph. I didn't even see it. She was turning left into a parking lot and I guess she didn't see me. Anyways, the state trooper came out and ruled it her fault. Well, I come to find out it wasn't even her truck; it was somebody else's, and, at that time, I was scared that she didn't have any insurance, but when I had seen that the person who owned the truck had Allstate, I thought to myself, thank goodness... until now.
Well, my husband and I both went to the ER and I had to have a CAT scan (I had a huge lump on my forehead), and my husband hit his chest on the dash, and his whole chin was swollen and he had bad whiplash. Then we had to go to a follow up doctor and I had to have two X-rays of my shoulder and arm and my husband and I both were told we needed to go to physical therapy. Anyways, my accident was on Monday and I didn't get my rental until Thursday. I missed a day of work and then I had to bum a ride to work. Then the adjuster came to my house to look at my car and told me that it was totaled and told me that my 2000 Mustang with 20" rims, CD player, after stock headlights and tail lights was only worth $3,300.
I called his supervisor and complained and said that I was not going to accept it and he had me talk with the Total Loss Claims rep and I had to leave a message (Friday). He just called me back today (Wednesday) and said that on this next Monday, I am going to have to find other forms of transportation because I have to return the rental. Are you kidding me? We haven't talked about any kind of settlements or anything and they're already wanting to take away the rental. Well, I guess we'll see how the rest of this pans out but so far it doesn't look good. I just don't know what to do. I've never been in an accident before.

They refused to pay my claim for the Suburban that I totaled saying it was uninsured due to the policy expiring seven days earlier. Their defense was that the insurance had lapsed due to non-payment of the premium. After examining all my payment notices, I contacted a good lawyer. She said I had a good case but the firm couldn’t take the case since they had represented Allstate in another case some years ago. I found that every good law firm in the Omaha, NE area had also been retained by Allstate at some point.
They obviously hire all firms that might be a threat to them so the insured cannot have access to good representation. After two years and $10,000, they finally settled. I just as well have walked away from the start. I’ve learned a good lesson though; I hate all insurance companies now! So learn your lesson from me and see if your insurer has locked in all the lawyers in your area. You may be left without a good course if you need to take action against them. Two weeks ago, an Allstate insurance holder backed into by new car! This happened in a parking lot and the spots were parallel. She parked in a spot, then completely stops, and then she backs up without even looking and runs into my car. I had backed out of my spot after she had already pulled into hers and stopped her vehicle. She then admits fault by saying, "I'm sorry." Then she says, "Oh, nothing happened to my car." She backed into my left corner panel and caused the bumper to dent as well. I took down her information and she did not even ask for my insurance information. I am assuming this means she knows the accident is her fault and knows her insurance company will have to pay for the damages.
So I called Allstate and placed a claim with them. They told me that the girl who hit me called earlier and also stated a claim. I did not contact my insurance company because I did not run into her and the accident was deemed At Fault on her part. I gave them my information. I then got a call from the claims department saying they accept liability and are sending me to get an estimate on how much it will cost to get my car repaired. I went to the appointment and the man who estimated the damages said to expect a call back from the claims department to set up a time to take my car to the auto shop. It's been 3 days and I've left messages for Steve ** and he finally called me back today. He says, "Well, our insurer is claiming a different story now, so we are only willing to pay 50%."
I don't understand how the girl who hit my car can call and change her story after they already accepted liability. I have also taken pictures of my car and where the cars were both positioned in the parking lot. I am planning to get a lawyer as soon as possible. This auto insurance company is unlawful in every sense. There is no way I am going to pay for this, as it was not my fault. Steve ** is also very unprofessional, lacks customer service skills and is completely rude and extremely unorganized. I plan to take them to court as soon as possible. I want other people to understand what this company is doing to others. My advice to anyone looking for auto insurance is stay away from Allstate.

On December 26, 2008 I was broadsided by a woman insured with Allstate Insurance. My passenger and I were traveling northbound when she suddenly pulled out of a parking lot on the opposite side of the street and attempted to turn into southbound traffic. We were traveling under the speed limit as we approached a red light at the next intersection. My passenger and I saw her begin her attempt to pull out as we were passing her. I swerved into the middle turn lane to avoid a collision. The incident would have resulted in a VERY close call, but at the last moment, the woman actually sped up and hit us anyway.
My vehicle was struck behind the passenger side door, and the car spun 180 degrees. Luckily, we came to rest in the aforementioned turn lane and no other vehicles were involved. When we got out of our vehicles, the woman driving the other car told us that she was sorry and that she simply "didn't see us." The police arrived and did an investigation, where the woman was listed as the "at fault" party. The officer at the scene verified this with us. Luckily, I have auto coverage through Farmers Insurance. I called my agent and reported the claim. He, along with other representatives with Farmers, acted quickly and with my interests in mind. I also called Allstate to report the claim, at the advice of the repair shop.
I was contacted by an adjuster with Farmers Insurance as well as Wes **, a claims adjuster with Allstate. Both parties told me that they would be out at the earliest possible date to inspect my vehicle. Farmers kept their promise. Despite the upcoming holiday and the weekend, my vehicle was inspected and deemed a total loss in less than a week by Farmers. Because the repair shop charged a daily storage fee, Farmers was eager to have the car moved. We arranged a date for this to take place. I called Wes ** from Allstate to inform the company that the car would be moved - when and who to contact from my insurance company to learn where it would be moved to.
My insurance company was very helpful and assured me that I didn't need to take further action. Farmers Insurance compensated me a more than fair amount for my car, less my $500 deductible. My agent even located a replacement vehicle for me. Farmers went above and beyond. I was informed that Farmers would be "going after" Allstate for reimbursement of the claim. At that point, I would be reimbursed my deductible since I was not the at fault party. I considered the matter resolved.
In early February, I was contacted again by another Allstate adjuster who claimed that he wanted to set up a date to inspect my vehicle. I was confused and irritated to say the least. Had my claim slipped through the cracks completely? Had no one from the company made any attempt to inspect my vehicle since the accident? Again, I gave the second adjuster the appropriate contact information to determine the new location of the vehicle. Due to the time that had passed since the collision, I did not know if the car was still intact. I doubted that a proper inspection would be possible.
I have not received my $500 deductible reimbursement from Allstate, and doubt I ever will. As of March 2009, my claim is still under review with Allstate. It is out of my hands. Hopefully, Farmers won't have to absorb the cost of the entire claim and raise my rates.

I had a minor fender bender in December 2006, a very foggy day. I rolled a stop sign due to the weather and bumped a BMW at less than 1 mph, leaving a minor dent in his driver's door. I believed I had Allstate Insurance at the time and all was okay. Three days later (the accident took place 2 days before Christmas), I found out that due to my husband's former employer writing him a bad paycheck, our payment had bounced and our insurance had lapsed. Later on, his employer would wind up conning us out of over $11,000. But that's another story.
Nothing happened on this accident for 15 months when a half-dressed girl showed up at my door and handed my 10-year-old son a summons. Allstate was suing me for $9,200.00 in damages. Remember, this was a bump at less than 1 mph and no ticket was issued by the police. I went to court several times, but the judge kept insisting that Allstate authorized the repairs on the car. Come to find out, through Greg **, the Allstate appraiser (won't go on record), that the other party took his car to his dealership who sent it out to an unauthorized BMW repair shop that completely tore down the car to fix a dent. Now red faced over being overcharged, Allstate has come after me.
I held their insurance for over 30 years and had only lapsed by a week, though it is their policy to backdate a full month. They hired a law firm that has systematically lied, refused to send me documentation and most recently, went behind my back to court to win judgement. Now they have suspended my driver's license to force me to pay for Allstate's mistake. I am an unemployed mother of an autistic child. We nearly lost our house due to the situation caused by my former employer and I have no means to pay $9,200 for repairs that should not have cost over $1,500.00.

Now Allstate claims I was in fault and reliable for 50% percent of damage without adequately examining the validity of each individual claims. The report claims I backed up to her car and that is not a true. I am sure if both cars were examined with a third party or a mediator, the result would be different.
I took the car to an auto service. The estimate for fixing my car is $1,800, but what Allstate sent me is 1/2 of their estimation (which was done in their office, NOT auto shops) for $207... This is really hard on me to spend $700 extra to fix my car.

You're not in good hands with Allstate and all of their commercials preaching how they take care of their customers. I've been an Allstate customer for the last 6 years and prior to that you can add another 5. I have had no accidents or claims since I've been with the company, have always paid my bills and have multiple cars on the policy. There are different terms or guidelines for different states which can be understandable, but my situation just doesn't make sense. Considering these economic times, how bad things are and that all the money from the government is going to big business and not the people, you think they would understand or have some compassion. Well, Allstate doesn't and this came directly from their CEO, Tom Wilson.
I live in a unit number B311. There are at 4 other units with the same designation except for the letter. Example: B311, E311, D311 and F311. Basically, my monthly statement was delivered to another unit (hopefully people are good and will drop it off and not throw away if they get someone else’s mail). Out of sight, out of mind, along with my assistance pick the mail and pull the mail that the company pays for. So really, it was out of sight, out of mind. What happened is simple, I didn't receive my statement. This has also happened to my medical insurance and the post office has been made aware of this.
To keep it short, they cancelled my policy. I got nowhere in the general pool so I called corporate. The contact there was a sweetheart and tried to help. IT was denied. For a customer that hasn't missed a payment, has been with them technically over 11 years and they cancel me for an error that wasn't mine. I’M TRYING TO GIVE THEM MONEY. What idiot doesn't take into consideration a situation, regardless of policy since there are exceptions to all policy, and denies reinstatement? All she told me was that they sent the mail to the address provided. As I laughed and said this wasn't my fault or your fault, this was the post office. It didn't matter. I wish Mr. Big man Wilson would have got on the phone with his phat salary, influencing and affecting the WRONG people’s lives. What company doesn't actually look at the situation at hand, the severity of it, if it was the fault of the customer, is it a good customer, do they pay on time, etc., etc. - terrible decision.
I own my company along with being the CEO and my business is with the Federal Government and from suppliers to the Fed's to many different entities I deal with on a daily basis. I take into consideration situations and occurrences and make a decision based off the information. If it is a boiler plate situation, then I let policy rule. If situations reflect a non-standard situation, I take it into consideration and I will be flexible. I think Tom needs to go back to CEO school. Oh, that’s right, they don’t have CEO school.
Anyway, if you look at it like I did, they made a lot of money off me, their sort of stupid. I had a good size policy, paid every month, no claims ... etc. So I didn't cost them money, but I was paying for the what if factor. You're not in good hands with Allstate (and Tom Wilson). Additionally, Blue Shield understood the situation and recognized what happened. My history was perfect with them. Their grievance division reinstated my policy.

In November, I got 2 letters stating they noticed I had exclusions on the policy (2 children that don't live at home any longer) and that if I wanted to add them back to the policy, simply do nothing and they would be added back. I called my agent and left a message (since he is rarely in the office and I have never actually spoken to him personally), AND sent the letters back saying DO NOT ADD THESE EXCLUSIONS, and explained ON THE LETTER that these children (one is 23 and the other is 20) do NOT live at home with me anymore.
I got a letter sometime later stating they had been added back to my policy and my premium would be going up. I called my agent and Phil (an office employee with Lloyd Nichols' agency) told me I would need to fill out a letter of exclusion for my youngest child, since he is under 21. He faxed it to me at work and I filled it out and sent it back in. He said my 23-year-old should not have been added to the policy at all, since she was over 21, (in all fairness I must say that neither of my children had changed their addresses when they left my home and when the State did a "household search" it showed that they both still lived in my home, so I understood a little better at that point some of the confusion).
I called my children and they both said they would change their information ASAP. Next, I got a letter from Allstate saying they had "excluded" my son, (the 20-year-old) but my daughter, (the 23-year-old) was still showing on the policy. I called the Customer care line again and they said they needed a copy of her individual insurance information or something with her current address on it. I called my daughter and she called the Customer service number and faxed her information in on 12/26/08 to Priscilla. At that point, my husband went up to the agent's office to discuss the matter and try and get it resolved. The agent and his office assistant, Phil, confirmed that all was okay and that the debit would not be made against our account.
On 1/2/09, I got a letter from Allstate with the updated information and neither of my children was listed on the policy. I was relieved. Then, on 1/5/09, I got a letter stating that Allstate would be debiting my account $323.96 on or after 1/9/09 for the changes/additions to my policy. Once again, I called the Customer Care line and spoke with a Customer service rep. named BJ. He could barely speak English, but reassured me 3 DIFFERENT TIMES that no money would be taken from my bank account, the next renewal date is not until 4/09 and that my husband and I are the only ones on the policy.
As of this morning, 1/9/09, an amount of $313.96 was drafted from our checking account by Allstate. I called the bank and tried to stop the payment and they could not. At 8:28 A.M., I called my agent and got no answer. I called the Customer Care line again and spoke with Debbie (who also barely spoke English). She said she would cancel the "Easy Pay" on our policy and would put in for a refund. She apologized profusely, but could not tell me when I could expect a refund and didn't seem to want me to speak with a supervisor. Then she said she was making the request and would mail the form for a refund. I told her that's not acceptable and I want to speak to a supervisor. She made me wait and finally said she would transfer me to one. I asked WHO she was transferring me to and she couldn't tell me. She said because they had 8 or 9 supervisors on the floor.
Finally, at 8:42 A.M., she said she would transfer me to Brandon. I held for him until 8:45 A.M. and a young man named Rick got on the line. He barely spoke English, as well and made me verify all my information AGAIN! I explained the issue AGAIN and he said he would refund the money now and that I would get it in 48 hours. I made him confirm that and told him I was documenting everything. He didn't sound real confident, but said I SHOULD get the refund back into my checking account by Monday, and at the latest, on Tuesday. He said he would call me on Monday to confirm that it has been done. I said the amount and he confirmed that I would get a full refund of the $313.96 and that it has been expedited.
After I hung up with Rick, I tried to find information for the CEO of the company since I don't feel that we should have to wait 48 hours for OUR MONEY! I finally got a name and phone number for the Chairman, President and CEO of Allstate at the Corporate Headquarters in Northbrook, IL., (Thomas J. Wilson) and when I called his number, I got a rude woman instead. I asked to speak to Mr. Thomas J. Wilson and she asked what it was regarding and maybe she could help me. I told her what it was about and she pulled up my information and was very rude and would not let me get a word in. She said that I could NOT speak to Mr. Wilson and that he had nothing to do with any of this.
Her name was Gail ** and she said she was one of the executives there. She informed me that I wouldn't get a refund until the 19th of January and that once a payment was requested in their system (10 days before it is drafted) it could not be stopped. There was no explaining my side to this woman, and the fact is, the payment NEVER SHOULD HAVE BEEN SUBMITTED FOR DRAFT since the policy change CORRECTIONS were all done and final BEFORE they requested the money be drafted!
This is theft and should NEVER happen to anyone. At Allstate, it seems that he right hand has NO CLUE what the left hand is doing. It is not right to steal from customers, which is what I consider this case to be. I keep asking for my money to be refunded IMMEDIATELY and everyone I talk to says that CANNOT be done. The one CSR, Rick, said the refund would go to my bank on Monday, Tuesday at the latest, but somehow I have doubts about this!

Allstate is a joke. It has been almost 1 month since their insured caused an accident. My insurance, State Farm, has concluded their investigation as the other party's fault. The trooper who responded cited the other party for failure to yield. He pulled right out in front of me. I tried to stop about 20 ft. I have not yet received a call saying they take responsibility for the accident. My insurance is covering everything. I just bought the car so I had full coverage except I opted out for rental - a big mistake. I pay for that but my vehicle with $9k of damage will be ready in 2 weeks. I bet after I get it back, they will take liability. His insurance co. is saying I was on the cell phone so that's when I "lawyered" up. I requested detail billing. The 1st call I made that day was a 911 call, so I guess what next? And don't most old people wear glasses? This gentleman according to news was 70. He had no glasses on while driving. I bet that is why he is throwing a fit about everything. You did this. You did that once you hit an age or get into an accident at an age you should not be allowed to drive... This occurred at 38 mph.

I was in a vehicle accident on 12/14/2008 and our vehicle was totaled. Heather from Allstate contacted me today, 1/07/2009, stating they are no longer paying for the vehicle rental as of tomorrow, 1/08/2009, since the estimator contacted my brother (my brother is the owner of the vehicle involved in the accident) today to let him know the vehicle was a total loss and to discuss the vehicle estimate total value with him. Is this legal? Can they actually give us no time to find a vehicle? We haven't even received the money. Why are we paying insurance??? Please help with a little advice on what we can do or if there is a law that can protect us or make them pay for a few more days. I am a single mother and I need a vehicle to get to work. Thank you.

We were in an auto accident on Dec. 5, 2008. Ever since this happened, we have been treated like 2nd class citizens. My wife was hurt in the accident, and not one person from Allstate called to see how she was. Allstate did have my truck fixed, but has shown no concern for my wife at all. I have never dealt with so many screwed up people in my life. The lawyers I have talked to said that Allstate is the worst company in settling a claim - unbelievable - but when my premium comes due, they won't hesitate to cancel if I don't pay it.

I married at age 19. Agent said auto rates will drop not because of marriage but will when I turn 21. It never happened. I had to contact them to get the decreased rate. On the positive side, I bought a home and had a fire in the garage as a result of me using my welder to cut through the car body and the white hot slag fell on the rubber floorboard (this was a 60s car). Fire was not much problem since I had a high ceiling in garage, but smoke and heat damage was extensive. Claims was generous on aerosol paint cans and coated ladders and power tools. They contacted a cleaner and they used special sponges to clean and then stain block and repaint. All I had to do was meet the crew each morning. I'm very satisfied with the outcome. Oh, on a footnote: Areas we used for pantry was not painted. They could only clean with the sponges. I had to put stain blocker on and paint since they were not painted prior to fire. I understood.

My husband and I had taken out new polices with Liberty Mutual (at a lower premium). The only policy that was actually cancelled by the agent was the automobile policy. The house policy was cancelled by me again in July (it was with my escrow acct). So Allstate was paid for May, June and July until I had the bank stop the payments). The umbrella policy (aka catastrophy) did not cancel. This is an extra policy that we were able to get. Allstate sent us to collections for $48.50. I sent in a copy of my new policy, which they requested. I still had to pay the collections agency. The handling of our insurance or rather lack of handling of it has been down right humiliating to myself and my husband. Just to let you know we were customers with Allstate for 30 plus years.

I was working in Houston, Texas in February of this year. A friend of mine and I were on our way to a car show in South Houston. While on the 610 loop (my friend was driving) we were rear ended by a young man who has All State Insurance. We had to be towed to a repair shop but at the time I told the police I didn't need an ambulance although my head and neck were hurting. I did wear my seatbelt.
My neck continued to hurt so not knowing the area that well, I asked for some help in seeing a doctor. The emergency room was so full of people who simply had colds, I couldn't sit there. A few days later I was evaluated by a chiropractor and sent for further tests. At no time was I ever called by anyone from All State to check on my condition. I continued to seek treatment from the chiropractor. The MRI showed some damage but at this time I did not want surgery. I needed to get my bills paid but had to retain an attorney to get anything. The accident happened on February 1st and they have yet to pay any of the bills nor even contact me about my condition. They say they want a recorded statement and have set up several times but never called to do the recording. I have gone out of my way, taken off time from work to do the statement but they still have not called to get my statement. My bills still need to be paid and now I have to pay the attorney. The attorney has sent them several letters and has called them many times. Now that Hurricane Ike has hit the Houston area, I am sure they will use that as an excuse to stall my claim that much longer. I live on the Mississippi coast but travel quite often in my job.
My claim number is ** and the agents name is Rick **. I have personally called him many times but he has yet to return my calls as well. His phone number is **. I have also called All State's main number with no response. It is sad they cannot take care of their customer's accidents and mistakes. They fixed my friend's car but can't take care of me. They make stupid statements like why was he not hurt. How dumb is that. How many times do we see someone walk away from an accident yet other folks in the car was killed. Even though I have retained an attorney, I would like to hear from another attorney just to see what can be done. I really want to see All State punished now since they have drug this out and has not called to settle this mess.

I needed the policy right away so I could register my car, so I agreed to give them my atm card number, and I was to call them when the funds were to be available. A few days later, I had sufficient funds in my account, and told them to complete the transaction, which was a six month policy paid for in full.
On May 23, o8, my policy should have expired. I was in the hospital for a mastectomy, and due to many reasons, I had no intention of driving. I was aware that the policy was going to expire, but it was the least of my worries. I would renew it when I was driving again, which would not be for several months. Without my knowledge, consent or authorization, Allstate renewed my policy, and set up a Recurring Credit Card Pay Plan. I never agreed to this.
I pay for my policies in full so as to avoid potential overdrafts, such as the one that occured as a result of the deductions they made, which were 5 in a 4 month period. The amounts varied between 115.00 and 37.00, those at the high and low ranges. I called the bank to verify that no such card agreement had been signed by me, and they want me to try to get a refund from Allstate before they file a claim. Im going there today to do so. How can they renew a policy and set up something like that? I have been extremely ill and was unaware of this until I viewed it online.
The total of the unauthorized deductions, plus a 25.00 overdraft fee, comes to 339.65. It may not be alot to some people, but I've been unable to work since may due to complications from breast cancer treatments, surgeries etc.

My car was broken into. I have full coverage. Allstate representative states that the company covers the cost of the equipment repairs and or replacement in the event of such occurance. Anthony was the representative sent to my house to look at the vehicle, make an estimate, fax it to me, discuss the parameters of the compensation with me and make necessary changes to the amount I am to receive in a check. Instead the rep faxed me the estimate and remained out of contact completely, i made many attempts to contact and once he picked up, he then stated that he would call me back soon, this was over 3 weeks ago. two days after this, i received a check for completely the wrong amount.
I then contacted various departments to find out what was my best route to take to solve this problem. The main part that was badly averaged was a 5,000 Stock navigation unit that is mounted in the dash. this unit is dealership equipped, therefore it is not an aftermarket part. Allstate is covering 1,200 of that 5,000 navigation unit. I went to the dealership myself on more than one occation and verified that information myself.
Added to this I then took the advise of another Allstate representative in the claims department whom was very helpful and instructed me to take the car to a shop and have them estimate the job, then have them contact the supplemental hotline for Allstate. The supplemental hotline is a number that shops have to contact in order to have an insurance representative come to the premises and review the actual cost to repair and take a look at the vehicle. Once the shop contacted the supplemental hotline, they found out that it was a messaging service and would have to leave all their information and then they would recieve a call back. once a representative from this department called back 2 days later they notified the shop manager that they wold call one day in advance as to when they plan to send a case worker over, to make sure that the vehicle is at the shop when they plan to do so.
About a week passed when I then contacted Allstate and was told that a representative came to the shop and that the representative called and left a message while they were outside the shop at 10am. the shop does not open until 10:30am and this was already specified in the message left at the supplemental hotline by the manager of the shop. I found out the direct number of the case worker from the claims dept at Allstate and gave it to the shop to call. Once they did, they were harassed by the agent whom yelled at the manager of the shop for not picking up the phone and a stupid liar when told that they received no calls nor messages from the case worker. this is an extremely unproffesional way to do business.
And the key fact is that all other departments at allstate insurance company are courteous and helpful, when it came to the claims and compensation, they were exceedengly rude and I am desperately seeking out a way to bring this issue to a close. However I do not plan on taking this issue lightly and will not stop until I recieve the compensation that my policy states it has to legally cover.
I am left with a car that I cannot drive to my job for the MTA in Brooklyn, NY. I live in Long Island. I need the correct amount of compensation to cover the cost to return my vehicle, a 2003 Nissan Maxima, the way it was before it was broken into.

I called Allstate in April 2008 to ask for a quote on auto and homeowners insurance. I explained to the salesman that my mother had just passed away and the house was still not in my name but I was looking for a quote. I then agreed to take the auto insurance because I had just gotten the car in my name. I gave him my banking info and hung up with the salesman, called my brother to tell him that I had the car insured and he told me that it was already covered by the estate.
I called the salesman right back, within 15 minutes and told him that I didn't need the car insurance after all. I was told that I would need to fax him proof of existing insurance. The following day I sent the fax with copies of proof of insurance and then called again because the money was taken out of my account anyway. I was then told to send another fax, which I did, and it would be taken care of. The next month I get a bill not only for the car insurance, but the homeowners as well. So I called again.
They said again they did not receive the fax, so I double checked the fax number with Allstate and this time they removed the homeowners. I sent the fax with proof of insurance again. The first of July I receive yet another bill this time from a collection agency. I called again. This time I mailed the info to them, and they are still claiming that they are not receiving this information so I can get my money back. I called them again today 9-05-08 and they have only one logged complaint, one of the fax numbers I was given is not even in their system, and I need to send them yet another fax.
I have lost $156.00 out of my account for a 15 minute old policy. I have to drive 6 miles into town to send the fax, then it costs $6.00 per fax and the cost of 2 stamps. This is showing on my credit history, and I have now received 2 write-ups at work for receiving personal phone calls from the credit agency on the phone my employer pays for. So now I have paid $18.00 in faxes, not to mention the gas going into town for them 3 times and I still need to do this again?

Finally, I went to another ins company. They didn't save me much but I figured they were being honest, not offering me a teaser rate. Also the new company, Liberty, has a cap on raising the homeowners. I like that, right up front they told me that. I've NEVER had a homeowners clam in 19 years.
So, now that I've left them, Allstate keeps sending me a bill for $43.00. It must be some sort of cancellation fee for the auto ins. policy. I haven't called them about it. I'm just not going to pay it. How ridiculous is that to bill me because I left them!!!!

(recording). Friday I get this estimate and Jason C. will not talk to me even after an Andrea talked to him for me and says he will talk to me. She transfers me to Jason C.'s voicemail once again. I learned after the accident, after the ALLState Rep. asked me if my truck was drivable that my truck is pulling to the left. I asked if they could get me a rental car, I was told by Andrea that Jason C. was still during an investigation.
Andrea apologized that Jason had not contacted me. My only source of transportation and was AWOL. The lady changed her story, she called last night and tried to tell me something when she was interrrupted and the called was dropped, but I have the message on my voicemail saved. I believe that the lady is honest but someone is making her lie. I'm pretty stressed about my vehicle. I've been having headaches, maybe it's from the stress. I know I'm cutting a pair of radials on the front of my truck, but Andrea says the lady is denying that she was at fault. SPEEDING thru a Business Parking lot.

For being a young driver I paid them over 3,000.00 for one year for full coverage. When I got my first safe driving bonus check for 61.00 it was after a year of having them. But yet their commercial claims a check every six months...I only got one. I was a safe driver. I then found an awesome insurance company (AAA) and I pay only 590.00 for every 6 months (that saves me over 1,800.00 per year) AAA even offered me better coverage. So I canceled All State two days before my policy renewed.... (canceled on 6-6-08) Got AAA insurance (6-6-2008) New all state didnt renew until 6-8-2008....
So two weeks later I get a bill saying I owe 100.00...even though my insurance was paid up and my balance was zero when I canceled. I then got a second bill saying I owed only 50.26. They then sent me to collections because I refused to pay them. They told me that I owed them 50.26 because I cashed my safe driving bonus and then the next month canceled my policy with them. How do i have to pay this back when I got it for my prior six months of being a safe driver? My check I cashed was for 61.00 so how does this add up? IM still fighting with them.

Just two days after my 18th birthday I move to America to attend a university. I was all alone, with no family or friends, in a new country. My father had helped me get a car, and an All State Insurance Agent had insured my father that they would take good care of me if anything happened. A few weeks after I got my driver's license, I made a stupid beginner's mistake while merging, and got hit by another car. The damage wasn't great, and nobody was injured, but I was shocked and worried.
The other person helped me file a claim over the phone, but two weeks later I got a form letter from All State notifying me that they were dropping me for makign a single mistake. So without a phone call, or personal contact, or anything from the man who told my father I'd be in good hands, all alone in a new country, All State just dropped me and left me feeling confused and worried, with no idea what to do. After several years, I have still not forgiven All State, and I am now happily using Farmer's Insurance.

my husband was driving my 2005 Dodge ram 1500 short bed quad cab , on July 8th he hit standing water and went off the road down an embankment and into a tree. The damage is mostly to the front end no grill , frame , motor ,or fluid leakage from the truck. They called a tow company (which cost 325.00 and added it to the estimate) the tow truck company when trying to get it back on the road backed it into a tree (causing more damage and also adding it to the estimate).
The Collision company called me on July 9th to advise me of the total amount of the cost to fix it , which was 7,500 dollars (my response at that time because there was not a whole lot of damage was is allstate going to be alright with that amount and he states we are contracted with allstate what ever we submit they will pay). obviously not the case when I get a call from my insurance company and the estimate has now jumped up to 8,500 dollars and allstate tells me we can not fix it we will have to total the truck and we will settle for $7,000
keep in mind the type of truck it is and the they are only going to give me $7,000 for the truck after only one estimate. I advised the adjuster that I would not be accepting the settlement because I find it to be to low. I have been with allstate for 23 years never had a claim and am being treated like this. Also without my consent they have contacted Capitol one who my loan is through and told them my truck is a total loss I find this out Monday when I try to call to make my payment. My husband and I leased a new car in March of 2008. We called a few insurance places before getting a great quote from Allstate. We were quoted a six month policy for a little over $700 a month. Needless to say, we were happy that we found Allstate. We agreed to the quote and waited for the first time customer package to arrive in the mail. It arrived, but with the wrong address. (We were lucky it got to us at all.) We emailed the agent we had been working with, and she said that she'd send another package to us with the right address. We received the second package, again with the wrong address. Now it's only a few days before the package need to be completely and sent back to Allstate.
We call Allstate again and speak to a different agent. She informs us that we need to complete the package and send it back before a certain date or we'll lose the quote. They will fix the address problem once the paperwork is done. Fine, we do this. I sign up online for Allstate to view and pay bills. I check my account for a month before a payment is finally due. The quote and payments have now nearly tripled! Our quote went from $700 to nearly $1,900! We called Allstate and asked what the problem was. They said that we hadn't submitted prior proof of insurance, which was never asked for in the bundle of initial documents sent to us. But, ok, we send them proof of prior insurance, 6 months worth, from Geico.
More time passes and we hear nothing about our payments. We call Allstate again. They now claim to need more proof of insurance. We sent them SEVEN years worth of insurance from Progressive, our insurance carrier before Geico. We expect that this will all be cleared up now. Well, I go online to check our status this past Sunday, July 27th, and I find that our policy had been CANCELLED since JULY 21! I was furious. We had been driving in an uninsured car for 6 days. There was no notice sent to us. As a matter of fact, on July 25th, we received a notice dated July 19th that we needed to get a visual inspection done (yet another hoop to jump through).
There was no warning that our policy would be canceled, and the agents we spoke to over the last 3 months had told us that they would work it all out. My husband and I, in good faith, had even paid Allstate three months of the payments that we were initially quoted -- just to show that we were willing to stick around until they sorted this mess out, a mess that they created by not being specific enough on what they needed from us.
Despite a conference call made this week with Allstate, Geico, and Progressive, nothing has been resolved. Allstate claims to need proof of birthdate, which both previous insurances sent them -- but apparently, it's not the proper document. (What else do they need?) Allstate refuses to reinstate our policy and give us our original quote. We have done everything that they asked, but they keep finding more documents or information that they need to stall this process. Now our case is in review until Monday, August 4th. This makes an entire week without insurance and, therefore, no transportation.
My husband and I have to borrow friends and family's cars to get to work or to go shopping. We can't even drop Allstate because our policy with them has been cancelled, and other insurance companies will give us higher quotes.

In May I missed my monthly payment and was then notified that my policy had been canceled. No one had called to ask or warn me that I was about to be canceled.
That evening my husband called and was told that it could not be reinstated. He then called the home office which sold us a policy over the phone with Northbrook Indemnity Company (and Allstate affiliate or division) which carried less that half of the benefits and cost twice as much. Their policy said that I was a prompt payer and a good driver. Since then we have canceled and gone with another insurer.

It was SUPER expensive, so he decided to cancel his Allstate policy and they purchased new insurance from another company.
Two weeks later he gets a paper bill from Allstate for his Quote Only amount. Huron) and they said the car had minimum damage to the rear axle on the drivers side and some minor body work but the car can be repaired for about $5000.00 dollars. I spoke to the repair guy named Irwin and Casey
Shortly after that I was contacted by Allstate's adjuster Jacob O. who told me the car is totaled and they will give me $1500.00 dollars for the car. I immediately told them the car is not totaled and can be repaired and it is worth more than the amount they are offering. I have owned the car since 2003 and I have invested money into the car and it runs GREAT the body, engine, and interior is in really great condition and I just want the car repaired since I was not at fault and it was hit by their policy holder Vitaly V..
Since that time I have gone back and forth with them attempting to get the car repaired to no avail - my friend said to contact you to file a complaint about this issue and I pray I can get some assistance or information from you to help me in this matter. I contacted my insurance company as well (State Farm #13A285032) Team #81 and they are in some regards saying the same thing. I feel my car should be repaired by Allstate instead of being JUNKED by them because I have maintained and repaired my car and it's value to me is worth more than being Totaled or Junked for $1500.00 dollars and I have receipts, pictures, etc. to verify this as well as the car being paid (no notes thank goodness) which is added value to me.
I appreciate your time in reading this and helping me hopefully file a complaint and getting this discrepancy resolved with the Insurance company - ALLSTATE. the claim # is 0113227425 for them and 13A285032 for State Farm my insurance co. Well now that my car is in the shop I am forced to get a rental car to go back and forth to work and I am just sick that my car cannot be repaired - I cannot afford to buy another car especially with $1500.00 dollars that they are offering me. My car is very dependable and most important no car notes. Now what am I supposed to do if they don't fix my car? I need my car for transportation to work and back home and for my family (13 kids) and I cannot afford another car or car note.
I cannot sleep right or even eat right and don't understand AllState being my car was parked and was running GREAT and this guy hit me (I wasn't at fault) and now they refused to repair it - I don't care how much it costs to repair it - it is not TOTALLED as Jacob says but is repairable according to several mechanics I have spoken to as well as the gentlemen at Gerber who has the car now - they said it has a small amount of damage and can be repaired. PLEASE help me.

My boyfriend, the driver, honked the horn as we saw her vehicle cutting the corner too sharply, but she continued as though she were oblivious to our car sitting there.
The driver's side corner of her bumper impacted directly into the middle of my front license plate, and proceeded to swipe across the driver's side of my bumper as she tried to swerve away. She left the bumper scraped and even tore a hole in it. At the time, she admitted fault, saying she hadn't seen the car, but later lied and told her adjuster that we had come out of nowhere and driven into her as she was almost done with her turn. While the photographs of the damage most definitely confirm our story, the Allstate agent denies any fault on her client's side and refuses to compensate me for the $625 of damage to my vehicle. As I only have liability coverage, this pretty much screws me.
I am very upset with Allstate for failing to acknowledge the evidence and for allowing a woman whose mental and physical capacity for driving has diminished to the point of danger to avoid taking responsibility for her actions. It should also be noted that, while I am a witness to the accident, Allstate has expressed that they are not interested in obtaining my statement as evidence...of course they aren't.

I was in an automobile accident on 10/24/2007. I was not at fault. The person that hit me has Allstate Insurance and I've been dealing with them since then. I am working on finalizing my claim for personal injury. They offer $1,916 to cover my medical expenses incurred which is only 50% of my total expenses. My request was simple; reimburse 100% of my medical expenses for $3,829 instead of $1,916. I did everything that Allstate representatives asked me to do. I provided all the documents and was told to get my treatments done before they would speak to me about settlement. At no time, did any Allstate representatives mentioned that I was required to be treated [by their] recommended doctor.
Now, they are claiming that they are only required to cover reasonable treatments. Their guideline said they would only cover 6 to 8 weeks of treatments. I've asked for medical expert to review my case, they have a RN and a chiropractor that are not a practicing chiropracotr. They are making excuses why they will not reimburse those expenses. My car was totaled, all my airbags were deployed, and the paramedics arrived on the scene. I received all of my treatments as directed by my physician. The time and gas expenses incurred going to the doctor for treatments on a weekly basis was inconvenient and time consuming. I had to rearrange my work schedule to accommodate and incurred additional gas expenses to get to my appointments.
On 10/24/2007, I went to the Emergency room and paid $227.38 for my visit, plus $66.53 in prescriptions and medical supplies for my injuries. The earliest available appointment to see my treatment doctor was on October 30, 2007, which 6 days after the accident. I was treated for my injuries for the period of 10/30/07 to 4/9/08 and incurred a total of $3,535 in medical expenses. This equated to being treated 2 times a week during this period at considerable inconvenience, pain and discomfort. I am required to continue to do stretching exercises and swimming exercises in order to reduce the pain and discomfort I experience when I stand, sit or sleep. I dont have a private pool; therefore I am paying for a gym membership in order to maintain my daily mobility. I lost 40 hours worth of pay due to the accident and my injuries for a total of $1,250; they would only pay $1,054.89 net.
Allstate Insurance Company is taking advantage of the fact that this is my first accident and that I didn't get an attorney from the beginning. They are not reimbursing my medical expenses due to a text book guideline. I don't know how these people sleep at night. What if something like this happens to them? The images of the other people are scowling when the long hair is visible and not when he is gone. Is this a predetermined slam against a sect of American society? If so, I have long hair and would like you to answer a few questions about Americanism, rights and the function of an insurance company. Or am I so undesirable that I don't deserve a straight answer?
I think I do, as we have been good customers of Allstate for 25 years and when renewal came up once a few years ago, I was told that they would renew me but not my Girlfriend. The same woman that has been sharing the auto, home, flood insurance for all this time. I swithced offices as this was a bigoted attitude. When Allstate dropped many homeowners insurance in Florida we, of course, were one and after that we swithed auto insurance providers to return the favor.
A feeling that my money was going to someone who is out to destroy the comfort level that I and all of us are trying to attain. Having to scurry and find providers at an inconvenience so insurance doesn't lapse. Actually, we SAVED $350 by changing auto insurance providers (no bull) indicating we were dealing with overpriced for 20 YEARS!!! So look around, there are REPUTABLE providers out there that don't want you to get a hair cut or assume a lifestyle that your agent approves before they will issue insurance!

My husband has been with Allstate Insurance Company for 14 years and I have been with them for nine. We have switched all of our vehicles to Allstate from Geico. We currently have a Deluxe Homeowners Policy with at 2423 Springbrook Court in Huntingtown, MD. We signed all the papers and were due to move in on July 4th. We went on vacation to the Dominican Republic and upon our re-entry to the United States found that we had messages from Allstate about a claim that had been filed for water damage to our new home. While we were away Calvert County and the surrounding areas experienced terrible storms (June 2006).
At the time there was water damage to the basement where the water had entered through the door leading into the theater room from the outside drain. We had a $1000.00 deductible, that was paid and Servpro charged $865.28 for water removal and fans/dehumidifiers for drying the carpet. Allstate sent a check to us to cover that amount. When we moved from the rental to our new home (July 2006) my husband made sure that our Homeowners Policy covered and provided for water that backs up through the sewer and outside drains. He made these arrangements through our agent Mike Masri. This was done so that in the event that a similar incident occurred, as what happened in 2006, we would be covered. Our agent Mr. Masri added that coverage to our policy after being specifically informed, by my husband, as to how the water came to be in the home (through the outside drain and under the door) in June 2006.
Now we come to 2008-May 11-12, 2008 and we have a similar occurrence after another storm. After making a claim on Monday, May 12, 2008 and waiting an entire week for an adjuster (Kevin Kelly) to come out (who by the way was in no way professional or sympathetic to our situation), we discovered that the policy that we have to cover incase of water damage from sewer or drain backup is in no way coverage at all. We have since been told that the drain that backed up is not covered because it was not in the dwelling. So why was it covered in 2006? When this question was asked of Mr. Bret Nill, Mr. Kellys manager, he said it probably should not have been covered. Note the probably. Why did Mr. Mike Masri sell us insurance that he knew we would not be able to use, knowing full well what the previous situation had been? He probably shouldnt have sold it.
Why do we pay such high premiums for insurance, no Deluxe Insurance, if it is going to be misrepresented and then not cover what it is said to cover in the long run? We probably shouldnt be paying such high premiums. I still do not understand all of what has occurred except for the fact that we have been duped, ripped off, cheated and lied to. My husband has already suggested that we look into switching our insurance coverage from Allstate to State Farm or Nationwide. Co-workers that I have told of this problem noted similar problems that they have had with Allstate and have switched to State Farm and are quite please not to mention covered to their satisfaction.
The consequences are that we still have a wet basement, we are running dehumidifiers night and day, there is a terrible mildew smell, we don't know how we are going to pay for the repairs to the basement, our basement is uninhabitable, my husban took sveral day off work to wait for an adjuster, I took a half day off work to get answers from the agent or anyone at Allstate who would give me information. I am contemplating taking money from my retirement fund to take care of this. I have not slept since I was told that the insurance company will not cover it. I am concerned with my and my husband's health as continue to breathe in this air.
