My home consultant from Clayton Homes was so wonderful. He broke everything down and was really in-depth, and I also understood everything. He also showed me stuff and all the layouts. I will recommend Clayton Homes to a friend. All of their reps were friendly and nice. They treated me good when I used to go by. And they offered me drinks and food. They did an excellent job and I loved them all.
That's so wonderful to hear, Bernice! Thank you so much for taking the time to let us know your home buying experience went well. Congratulations on your new home!

I liked the house from Clayton Homes better. And the home-buying process with them has been great. My house still isn’t finished because I have to get the water and everything hooked up and it's new and it's a lot of land. So, it's not an easy process. But their consultant has been wonderful.
Thank you for sharing, Katherine! We're glad to hear that you're satisfied with your home buying process. Congratulations on your new home!

Our purchasing experience with Clayton Homes was everything that I expected, which these days is very high marks. Initially, we looked at several different companies. Clayton was one of the ones that we looked at and we got matched with Tim in Longview. And he was the biggest reason why the process went so smoothly. He was very experienced and explained everything really well. He left us to make the decision, but he gave a lot of guidance. So, it wasn’t a pushy type of deal and was more of a consultative one. But his availability was 100%, and whoever we needed to talk to and whatever we needed to do were all facilitated through him. I’ve always felt like products don’t sell people, people sell people. And so, Tim was the difference in the process.
We customized some things in our unit. We added a deck and a skirt. And Clayton had enough inventory that we were able to pick something that included most of the things that we were looking for. So, we were able to kind of keep things within budget. And we’re happy with the decisions we've made in terms of the things that we have with the unit and the way the unit is functioning.
We are THRILLED by your feedback, Dwight! Thank you so much for taking the time to let us know how well your home buying experience went. We will definitely be sure to pass along your praises of Tim as well! Congratulations on your new home!

My daughter purchased a home through Clayton and so I did too and I'm very pleased with my home so far. It seemed like the process took a little longer because the guy I started with changed mortgage companies. I had to re-submit a lot of things but it went okay. I upgraded the appliances in the kitchen and I'm very satisfied overall.
That's so great to hear, Beth! We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback with us. We hope that both you and your daughter enjoy your Clayton Homes for many years to come!

The home-buying process was fine. But problem is the home itself. The ceiling joists that were supposed to be exposed they didn’t look and fit right. The shower wall was about two inches further away from the wall at the top than it was at the bottom. And then the back door wouldn’t shut unless you shut it down real hard. The cabinets started coming apart and they still have one door that they need to fix. They've been fixing the things but it shouldn't have hapened to begin with. It is a bad manufactured home.

The lady that we talked to at Clayton Homes was real nice and she helped us out through the whole process. I was impressed with her sales ability and the knowledge on what we need to do. If we had questions, we just call her and and if she didn’t have the answer, she'll find the answer and contact us back. And some people don’t do that. They try to either lie to you or pull your strings or you never get in contact with them again so she was real good in contacting us. If we called her and if she wasn’t there, as soon as she got the message and got a chance, she would call us back. And it's a bonus plus that we could always text her too.
We were satisfied with the buying process. We did what we were supposed to do and Clayton supplied the home. But there's a lot of things right now that we're having problems with. One thing I really have a strong problem with is that every time we call them when we find something, the person that we gotta talk to is always trying to make it seem that we did something wrong. The kitched drawer where we have our silverware broke along with the second drawer. They both broke the same way, and when we called Clayton Homes, the guy asked me what was in the drawer and if it was too heavy. I got 20 pounds of silverware in the kitched drawer, while the second drawer containes 11 sink towels and that doesn't weigh anything.
My wife also called them when the little border with the color was peeling off. A guy came and he only glued half of it and he told me that he didn't see the other side was coming off as well. I don't want to be calling them for every little thing. If you see something that needs to be fixed, even before we see it, go ahead and fix it. I'm not going to get mad because you fixed something that we didn’t see. Fix it. Don’t try to make it seem like it's our fault.
It feels like they are trying to find a way of getting out of taking responsibility for the problems that we found. When one of the shelves in our pantry fell down, the guy that came in asked my wife what did we have on it. I've been in construction work and with these particular wall, I would have to used anchors. But the shelves didn't have anchors to hold them up in the wall. They should look at what they are mounting it to and adapt to that. I know that it's not the best mobile home in the world, but I'd like for it to last longer than a year. There were problems we found that didn’t make sense that they even existed, like some of the outlets were coming out of the wall.
Andre, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We're glad to hear everything went well during your sales process. As far as the issues you've had with the home, we apologize and are thankful for the feedback. A member of our Customer Advocacy Team will be reaching out to you directly for more information.

The communication with Clayton Homes stinks. They have my number recognized from calling them so much and they will not answer that phone and then a recording will come on instead. Then I leave a word for them to call me, but they never call back. My wife and I drive down there in their location and every one of their cars is there on the parking lot, but when you come on the phone and ask for a certain person, she’s not there. It’s just aggravating.
They fixed the things that were wrong with the trailer when we first bought it. But now, our front door and back door would hardly open and close. The rubber piece at the bottom was too long. We’ve told them several times but finally, my son-in-law and I took the door down and fix it ourselves. Also, when my wife and I went up town, she left the keys to the door inside the trailer and we could not get back it. Clayton had the key to it, so we called them. But they didn’t bring us the key until the next morning and we had already called and paid $60 for a locksmith to unlock our door. So since then, we’ve not called them and I don’t wanna call them back. But overall, I’m satisfied with Clayton Homes. There are certain things they have been good. Judy, the girl that works there, has been really fair to us. Also, Malcolm and the manager are fine fellows, but their salesman, Richard, tells all these lies that nobody's there.
Larry, all feedback is important to us, and we appreciate the time you took to tell us about your home buying experience. I like Clayton Homes. I enjoy the home. I share to my friends and my coworker, "That's a nice home if you want to buy." The application was less than a month, which was very quick. One young lady does very nice and is friendly. She explained all the details, like how was the construction, how it's working when there are storms and all the plumbing and electrical stuff. I have an experience about that because I worked in a construction before I think that's good shopping of a home. So whenever I have an opportunity, I share it a lot.

The people at Clayton Homes were very helpful and they answered all my questions. They helped me pick out what I needed and wanted. However, there were a few problems with the house when we got it. They had damaged the turning end. Somebody detonized something into it and crumpled it all up. Furthermore, I was not satisfied with the factory people who came out to fix it. It took four tries. and they kept wanting to patch. I kept telling them that I paid for a new home and I wanted the front to look like that.
Daryl, whom I guessed to be the sales manager at Sweetwater, came out and took pictures. He told the factory people exactly what the front was supposed to look like. Every time the factory people came out, they didn't know that. We have already waited six weeks for the home which we customized. Still, Clayton should have told me it was damaged before it got here. It should've been fixed on the lot before it came out.
When I first came out to the location, Clayton sent people who got caught in a traffic jam. So, their guys were out here at 9:00 at night with lights on top of their heads trying to fix my house. When daylight came, I saw that they had taken different pieces of siding and I could tell that my front had been patched. I told Daryl that I don't want my front patched. It looked like somebody ran another trailer into it. Then, Clayton sent somebody else who didn't bring the right pieces. They thought it was just front of the house. They didn’t realize the eave had been damaged also. All I wanted was a new piece of stripping put on the eave where you couldn’t tell it had been placed.
Also, we were having torrential rains and I didn't know how well the eave was sealed up. Clayton's guys kept saying that it was sealed up and that moisture couldn't get in. I don’t know if moisture got up in the eaves of my house or not. I don’t really know if I’m gonna have a mold problem two years down the line. Still, the guys who came out just kind of pooh-poohed that idea, and I think I had a valid point. I wanted it fixed yesterday instead of from October until January. And so, that was very frustrating. I feel like the communication between the sales lot and the factory people was lacking.
Nevertheless, Clayton was as helpful as they could be on the Sweetwater end. Daryl even called the factory people when he was here one time and said that the situation was what it was. Still, the people would come from the factory totally unprepared. It took two months to fix what should’ve been a 15-minute job if they had brought the stuff to do it.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention, Barbara. We apologize for your recent purchase experience and would like to assist you. Someone from our customer advocacy team will be following up shortly.

Clayton had our trailers set up on the first week of September and they delivered them on time. They set it up but they would not allow us to do a walk-through so I could take care of any problems. Only after the closing was done in October were we allowed to sign up for our free day and allowed to move in. At that time, my back door didn't even have a doorknob on it. Instead, it only had a round hole. But then, there was a guy named Brad at the Lebanon store whom we went to in order to buy our home. He cussed me out on the phone and told me that he had other people in line. He did this because I kept calling to see when Clayton would come out and take our trailer. Brad is a lawsuit waiting to happen with Clayton Homes. I didn't know what to do as the issues that I had were never addressed and I was finally at the point when I told my wife that I was going to get a law firm to deal with them.
I gave $86,000 for this sale and it was almost six months before Clayton started to address my problems. As a contractor who builds new homes, when Clayton has an issue, they should take care of it. We had electrical problems and issues with some fixtures in our Clayton home. Additionally, if I turn on the light switch in our master bedroom closet, the lights won't come on. If I hit the wall, the light would come on but they still keep blinking on and off so I said that the switch was bad.
Also, in the kitchen area, we have an island and above it has a light fixture with two bulbs, one going each way. One side stays but only one side blinks. I think those fixtures are no good as well. Thereafter, we had to replace a wall plug because we didn't want to have it shortened out and burn up children. Furthermore, we had two bathrooms and the bathroom sink and second bathroom never worked. We even had to buy a new toilet seat since that was broken. Still, a girl at Clayton was so nice and turned things around. She sent a boy out to our location and he fixed the bathroom problems. That girl is super and she’s turned us from angry to happy.
So, my nightmare is over and I will deal with my issues day by day. It looks like I will have to replace a lot of light fixtures and switches because Clayton put the worst that money can buy. In my opinion, Clayton did a bait and switch. I had a custom built plan for the home I wanted to have two living rooms. At first, I wanted the 6-inch walls but I got them to push the storage walls. Thereafter, I thought that with the 4-inch walls, came the difference of getting to move in September versus being in the new home in January. Clayton knew what they were doing and they had it as a position in what you do. Still, I'll never be put in this situation again. If was Clayton and my customer went to move in the new house I built and I forgot to put the back doorknob on it, I would get out and fix it at that moment.
Brad sent a guy out to put a doorknob on my back door but then instead of taking the time he had and addressing other things throughout the house, decided to stand in the kitchen and get busy with my wife. My wife suffers from a mental illness and she got so uncomfortable with the guy Brad sent and she left the room. Brad then got mad at me and asked if I was accusing his guy of trying to sleep with my wife. I said no but that his guy made my wife feel uncomfortable so that she left the room and called me about the problem. The guy Brad sent was the most unprofessional serviceman in the lot. To him he was just making a conversation.
If a customer called me with an issue, the last thing I would do is cuss that person out. I'd like to have that conversation recorded because Brad wouldn't have a job. Never in my lifetime would I purchase from the Lebanon store again. This was a nightmare beyond our imagination. My wife was going through depression and I kept telling Brad not to lie to us because my wife has been sitting and crying all the time. Overall, getting a home from Clayton was a bad deal.

My cousin said Clayton Homes had a good home and we talked with them some years ago, but we were undecided at that time about what we were gonna do. Then six months ago, we talked with Clayton again and we decided to go ahead with this home purchase. The home buying process with Clayton Homes was a good experience. They laid it out like it was supposed to be and they backed up whatever they told us. The home consultant was really good and we were 100% satisfied with her. She got us to the house and told us exactly what was gonna happen when we got it set up.
Our home was something that we chose. They had one that we wanted in the lot, but it was already sold, and we had to wait a month or two. They built us a house and shipped it back here to us. It is of good quality, but I'm not too enthused with some of it because it has particle board stuff. But I’m satisfied with the rest of it and I like the Sheetrock walls. Another thing was that we found some things wrong after they got our home set up, but they came and made these right.

I personally like Clayton Homes' staff better so I went with them. They were very friendly, knowledgeable and they were like family. However, after I got in, I’m disappointed with Clayton’s construction. The cabinets on the bottom have no shelves, but just little things like that. Nonetheless, their quality of construction is very good as you would expect with Clayton. Others should just be sure and check the cabinets. Other than that, I’m very satisfied with them.

Clayton has great people and it is a great place to go to for a house. I was buying my first home ever, so I didn’t know what to do and April made me feel like I wasn’t dumb. She was the one in Northport, and she knew everything and explained it so well. I didn’t feel like I was in the dark. It was the best experience I've ever had in home buying. They were very understanding.
The purchasing process was super fast. I went and looked at the home on a Monday, and I was ready to close a month later because I had to get my down payment up. But we could have closed the next day if I had my money up. Their customer service team was easy to get ahold of. Clayton has a 30-day trial thing, and when I had problems with my home, like the way it was settled, they were out here the next day and replaced everything I had a problem with and fixed everything that wasn't up to my standards. Right now, my house is perfect.

I was moving in California and my brother had given me some property and told me to look at Clayton Homes. And that was how it all started. The whole buying process was really good. It took about three months and I thought it could have been a little quicker. I dealt with Dan, Nathan and Michelle, and they were wonderful. We were over there last week talking to them and we shared some pictures of what we had done and Nathan wanted copies of our remodel.
We remodeled the laundry room and I put up shelves and then built a folding table the full width of the washer and dryer and put up barn wood on the back of the wall. And then I put barn wood around the whole island, so it would dress it up a bit. And then we shiplap the walls in the living room and then the family room. And right now, we got a guy here putting in flooring. We traded a $4,000 house payment from California to under a $600 house payment out here, with no HOA fees or Mello-Roos. So it’s a big difference for us. And I’ve already recommend Clayton Homes to a couple people.
Joy, thank you so much for recommending Clayton Homes to others! We are so glad to hear that you were able to personalize your Clayton Home, and we hope that you are enjoying it.

Back in June 2017, we came to the Clayton Homes dealer in Carlsbad, NM. We have had it rough with the whole purchasing a home, but our lender had recommended that we try with Clayton because they had a program going on that would cover the construction loan of the home as long as our lender approved us for the permanent mortgage. We went there, and they agreed that they would cover the construction loan of the modular home we wanted. So fast forward to October 31, 2017, we got our approval, and our lender sent over the information from the title company to begin construction. Well, two months went by and nothing was said by Clayton or by our lender.
Finally on December 29, 2017, we contacted Clayton and they said our lender sent the wrong paperwork over and that they were waiting to hear back from our lender. So I contacted my lender and told them what Clayton had told me. So my lender reaches out to them and then a long e-mail war between our lender and Clayton ensued. It got so bad that Clayton corporate and our lender's corporate had to get involved. Basically, we were told by Clayton that we had to get a construction loan on our own, because "the program for Clayton covering the construction loan had ended, and they are not sure when it exactly ended". To get the construction loan through our lender, we had to sell our previous home first to move forward, which we did. Our lender also offered to do the construction at 10% down instead of the traditional 20% because they were the ones who referred us to Clayton in the first place.
Due to the size of my family (6 person) and the cost of building being so high in my area, we don't have many other options that are affordable to get what we want and need. It would have been nice to be told upfront about us needing to get the construction loan in the beginning, so at least then we could have either chosen to do something else, or get done what we needed and not had so much time pass thinking we were good to go.
Instead, here we are almost a year later and after jumping through a bunch of hoops, we are still waiting to be in our new home, and unsure how much more the whole experience is going to cost us in the end (Clayton is having to get an updated price agreement completed because it took us three months to sell our old home to get the liquid assets that our lender requires for us to put down for the loan and have for incidentals of the construction). All I have to say, is please be sure you know exactly what you are getting into before you start the whole loan process.

And Drew, the gentleman from Clayton that we dealt with, was absolutely fantastic. We fit with him perfectly. He was not pushy and he had lots of information. Overall, the atmosphere was great. Very friendly service. When you walk into the office, you're greeted by the lady that works at the front desk and it is fantastic. If they didn’t know the answer to any questions that we had, they found the answer for me. We found a lot of trailers that we liked at other locations which are a bit better than the one that we ended up getting. However, I did not like dealing with those other people.
Ours is a good quality home. Anything that was found on the manufactured home that was not up to what I was thinking it should have been, Clayton was more than happy to fix the problems or do whatever they could to assist me. Some of the trim work are very thin so it falls off very easily. However, that's an easy fix for me, so I don’t have to call them when the trim piece pops off or something. Overall, I had a fantastic buying experience through them. It's better than I could imagine. I referred my twin brother and they bought their home from them.

I went from a 3,300 square foot house into a mobile home to save money to build later and I thought it would be a little more energy-efficient. I was heating and cooling a bigger house for less so that was disappointing. Also, for a person that has never bought a mobile home before, it was a wakeup call because of the added expenses of getting it on your property and I didn’t really understand all of the added stuff that you were gonna have to do to. But the consultant from Clayton Homes walked me through that and I have had no problem with them at all. They’ve been great and they’ve tried to address every issue that I had. I’m just more disappointed in the product and I expected something different than what I got but overall, my experience was fantastic.

They had to send the guy back two or three times but he finally got it all worked out. The consultant was helpful and every time I called with a problem, he made sure he got right on it. The process was great and I would tell friends to go to Clayton. As a matter of fact, I’ve referred them to my nephew.
Shari, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback! We're glad to hear that your home buying process went well. I had an idea of what I was looking for when I went to Clayton's showrooms. But looking at all the models they had available, I found the one that stood out and picked that one. I had good interactions with their home consultants and they answered all the questions I had. I was very satisfied with their home buying process and the house I got is a whole different than what I remember mobile homes used to be. It's very good quality and I like the built-in front porch on it which is a really nice feature. Overall, it was a good experience and an easy transaction.
We're so glad to hear how well your home buying experience went, Nathan! Thank you for taking the time to share. We're happy to know you're enjoying the home itself as well. We hope you continue to enjoy that front porch for many years to come!

Corey, the Clayton Homes home consultant, was great, very helpful, and very friendly. Even on his days off, if I needed something or him to take a look at something, he would meet with me. He explained the whole aspect of my home purchase really well. He went over everything that I would need to know about the purchase, why it cost that, what it was, and the warranty and what would and wouldn't be covered. Each specific thing that had a process, he explained to me. The best thing about them is how fast they are and especially how nice they are because they always were super polite. It took just three months from the time I talked to them to the time that I moved in. And any time I needed something, they always got right on it for me. I really needed to get in and they did that for me.
Thank you so much for the wonderful feedback, Mary! We're so glad to hear how well your home buying experience went and about how much you enjoyed working with Corey. We'll be sure to pass along your praises of him!

We were pleased with Clayton's home buying process. They kept us informed of what was going on and when things were gonna be happening. They also made sure that we were happy with the trailers and what we looked at. They were very patient with us, too, because we’re in our 50s and 60s and this is our first time to but a trailer. We went back and forth on different ones until we were sure that we knew what we wanted. And they were really very good with us on that.
Everybody at Clayton was phenomenal and really good to work with. I have recommended people there. We worked with Brian and David. Brian was the one that helped us the most while David was just there to kinda oversee everything. Brian was very knowledgeable and he explained everything to where it makes sense to us. If there was something that he wasn’t very positive about, he went to David and said this was what we needed to know and came back to us with it. Jackie, the construction worker, was really awesome as well. She came to us and walked us through with everything.
Sally, we're thrilled to hear how well your home buying experience went! The home consultant I talked to was great. He did a fantastic job and showed me the home and also helped me get it set-up. The process wasn't very long. Clayton did a very good job. And I had one of my family members go up to them. They were looking to buy a mobile home. And I said, "Look, if I were you, I'd go talk to Frank. He's with Clayton Homes in Wilkesboro. See what kind of job he does for you." Frank must have done a good job for he sold them one.
Wow! Thank you SO much for the positive review and for referring one of your family members to us! We are flattered, Randall. It's so nice to know you had such a great home buying experience in Wilkesboro with Frank! We'll be sure to pass along your praises!

The person who helped me at Clayton Homes was great. He answered all my questions and did everything for me. He's even met me sometimes when I couldn't make it over there. It took two months for me to get my home but at that point in time, we were experiencing a lot of bad weather. They said if the winds are over a certain speed, it's too dangerous to drive out. It was not worth the risk. So it took a while but besides that, I was satisfied with the time. Afterwards, I had them come to touch up on a few minor things. But they were moving a house about 50 miles so I knew that there was gonna be like little vinyl popping. So I totally understood that. They came and took care of it. I didn't have any leaks and everything was good.
I bought the house that was like a demo version. It was on the lot for a year so there were a few minor things in it that I would have liked a little bit better. But I did buy it as is and they gave me a good deal on it. But one part of the floor in the laundry room had a tear in it and they said that they were gonna seal it with some kind of enamel or abrasive seal. But they never came to do that one even though they did fix the floor in my bathroom. I ended up covering it with a piece of clear tape. It wasn't a big tear but it was in a bad spot and those little tears eventually turn into something big if you drag your foot over. I just wish that they would have done something for that.
One of the movers also forgot to put on one of the anchors. I have 36 anchors but only 35 of them are connected. They were supposed to come to do that but they never came out. But I'm not really worried about one anchor. Overall, everything was good. Everybody was pretty on their toes and quick to go out there and fix things. If I wanted it to be perfect, there were some things that I would have liked them to do but for what I've got and what I've seen, it wasn't bad at all. The little minor things don't really bother me at all.

My husband told me one day to look for a trailer. I brought my dad and we went to a couple of other places. We went at Clayton and Ms. Karen was our home consultant. The other places said they were gonna talk to us and they were just like, "Just go look at these trailers. Tell me if you like them. If you do, we'll do a deal." But Ms. Karen was there every trailer I looked at and told me all about the trailers. I love her to death. The one we got was energy efficient smart home which we got for our Anniversary. And she showed me another one at a breeze. This one was a better home and it was only a few thousand dollars more. And I like it a lot better than the other one because it had a lot more stuff for our money.
On the day that we went at Clayton, we saw one we like and they got the ball rolling. And within a couple of days, we were approved. We waited for the new one to come in and we've been in here ever since. It was a fast process. They had my trailer that I wanted coming in. So, it was only like a seven-week process because they had to come from the manufacturer. After a month or two that we were in, Ms. Karen would text and she would say, "Are you all loving your home? If you need anything, let me know," like a service person would do. Also, they did my six-month inspection not too long ago and everything went good. After we first moved in, it took a while for the manufacturer to come in and do what they had to do when they do a walk through, and it didn’t even take them much time to get here and do that. It was awesome and I would recommend them to anybody.
Music to our ears, Mary! It's fantastic hearing how happy you are with both your home and your home buying experience. We will be sure to pass along your praises of Karen, too! Congratulations on your new home and thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback!

My husband and I decided that we needed to buy a mobile home and having absolutely no experience with mobile homes before, we went a dealership in Austin. I told the salesperson my budget and he showed me the Breeze model. The second bedroom looks more like a closet than a bedroom, but it met my price parameters and so I signed with them. It was a pretty easy deal. But when we went back to close on the transaction, the salesperson called me ahead of time to tell me that they couldn't get our paperwork right. Their computer system wouldn't allow us to take title in the name of a trust. So we had to come to their office next Tuesday instead of that Friday. My husband and I both had to take off work to get there and it was a little bit of a drive. But we still went to their office to set it up.
I got there before my husband did and I reviewed the documents but they still weren't right. Not only was the name not right but the model number on the model home wasn’t the same on all the pages. I'm a loan officer so I'm a little bit more savvy than most borrowers or buyers. The salesperson told me that they were working on it. But when I asked to do a walk-through of the mobile home, he told me that people don't do that usually. I really wanted to do it so he went out there and my husband basically had to put his hands so I can step on his hands and get me up into the model home because they didn’t have any stairs out there. So I had to climb up into the model home, then walked through it and it didn’t look real pretty.
When the paperwork got back, they still couldn't fix it so we told them that we would just call them. But it didn't sit well with me. The salesperson called me the next day and showed me the Anniversary model floor plan and asked me if I liked it better. I told him yes and he said he could give it to me for the same price. It sounded good but I told him that I have to talk to my husband first and will just call him the next day. When I talked to my husband about it, he wanted us to shop around because these people didn't seem to have their act together.
I kept on shopping all over the state and I got different responses from different people. And then I called the Clayton Homes dealership in Cedar Creek and Valerie was really good. She listened to me. I told her I already saw the Breeze and I really didn't like it, but I really liked the Anniversary model and I told her the amount that I was willing to pay for it. She talked to her sales manager and told me that they could do it. So I bought the check that afternoon and I paid for the Anniversary model in cash. When I went to sign the paperwork a few days later, everything was perfect. And they didn’t let me sign the papers until I walked through.
They didn’t even know the experience that I've been through. But they already had the stairs ready. And they said they always walk through and they wouldn't want us to sign the papers if we didn’t know what we were buying. I just glanced through it and everything looked okay to me. When they delivered the mobile home, their delivery guy was awesome. They sent the touch-up guy out here and everything happened the way they said it was going to happen so I was very pleased with their service.
But there were some blemishes on the walls that should have been fixed and after we moved into this model home, the clothes interfere with the closet door in the master bedroom. So you can't open and close it without having to move the clothes out of the way. That door should have opened outward so that you can use the whole closet space. And I brought that to Valerie's attention and initially she said that was the way it was designed. I told her that somebody should reinstall this door correctly and they should do it for free because I brought it to their attention and it was a design flaw. She emailed me back a couple of weeks later and said that she would send somebody out here and I never heard back from her. But as far as the quality of the mobile home, it's great and it's very comfortable.

We went to Clayton in Johnson City and found a home on a lot there. And then, we went in one Saturday and made up our mind that we were gonna buy a home. They talked to us and kept telling us to come back but we got aggravated and left. We stopped at Elizabethton the year before when my son was looking for a house and Jerry, the manager, spent an hour with us walking around. He was good to us, even though we were just looking and we weren't buying anything. I remembered that, so we rode there and we looked at their lot. It’s good that it was same thing we wanted. I told him I fell in love with that one and he said they can auction it out and get it. They took care of it. He took the time to deal with it and he wasn't pushy. He was also a down-to-earth guy.
Anytime I walk in down there, he bends over backwards to talk and see what's going on. If I need to talk to him or if we send him a message or give him a call, he’s usually right back with us and got the schedule right out. The home buying process with Clayton was flawless, everything went smoothly and I loved it. They did it in a timely manner. We ordered the home and we were in it in 30 days. Outside, there was some sheetrock trouble but that’s normal when you move a house. Also, we can’t put a heat pump so we had a log burner which I fixed last week. Other than that, the quality of the build is great and I would recommend it.
Ernest, thank you so much for taking the time to share that feedback with us! We're sorry things didn't work out at our Johnson City location, but we're thrilled to hear how much you enjoyed working with Jerry in Elizabethton. Congratulations on your new home!

My sister bought at Greenwood and she enjoyed the experience and her standard project. But all the places my sister went to wasn’t the greatest and then, Palm Harbor threw me off so I ended up with Clayton. Our home consultant at Clayton Homes went out and did everything for me so I could get the house. As of July, I had processed and I could choose but my credit score wasn’t that great. She fixed my credit up and raised it.
There were a lot of things that they have bad at the factory. They put a nail to the main water line and I got my dad to fix it since he’s a retired plumber but he’s still certified. Also, some of the fittings on the drain line were not tight. I got a washing machine and it’s a good thing that I checked it. That was on the wall of the sheetrock because I noticed it was a little damp, if I didn't check it, that would have been worse. Clayton had to come out and fix the sheetrock as well as the floor which was off a little bit. Otherwise, the house and the overall experience was great.

But I didn’t feel it's my place to have to call them two or three times a week to get stuff done and that's exactly what was happening. We went over to Clayton Homes about an hour before closing and the only person there was Greg, the manager. He showed us around all the homes and showed us what was what, the different prices, and so forth. He was very knowledgeable and a very good person to help you. Our salesman was great all the way through. He was always available when we called. If he wasn’t, he'd call us right back. He was honest and dealt with integrity the whole time.
Their service manager, Tony, has been out here several times correcting little faults and so far, he has made three trips himself and one with his helper. They went above and beyond on pretty much everything that they did. They've been great in every way and it’s one of the better experiences I've had in buying homes considering it’s the sixth home I bought in my lifetime. I never thought I'd have a mobile home, but in this stage of our life, it just felt like it's right to downsize. It was a little less cost of living to go ahead with a mobile home.
We shopped a bunch of other homes and we found that the ones at Clayton were of slightly better quality and better put together so we ended up going with them. A neighbor of ours bought one two months afterwards from Meadows and he hasn’t been nearly as satisfied with his purchase as I have. So, I feel like we've made the right choice. I would highly recommend them and I actually have to a couple of people. We have a girlfriend who's looking at one right now and she's probably gonna do it in the same lot even though it's a little farther away from where she lives. There are the other Clayton Homes, but we know these people and they've just been outstanding. We never felt like we were being jerked around. It was a good, smooth process and there was no problem at all with them.
We loved reading your review, James. It sounds like you had just the type of home buying experience that we want for our customers. We're thrilled that you chose Clayton, and congratulate you on your new home!

We were actually just planning on getting this as a temporary solution while we built a home and we’ve just been so impressed with everything and we enjoyed the home so much we may have just been staying in it. We’ve actually referred several people there.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share that awesome feedback with us, Courtney! We're so glad to hear how happy you are with both your home buying experience and the home itself! Congratulations on your new home!

I spent some time in Thailand and I had a land I had bought when I was working overseas. I was renting over in Murphy, North Carolina and when I passed the Clayton Homes place on the way over to my land, I swung in there and did things in a spur of the moment. Yet they walked me since I had no idea what I wanted and everything turned out very well. The home consultants were very good. The weather was so bad here at that time and I was anxious getting up to the where the home is, but they kept me informed of what was going on and everything else like that, so it was a good experience. Now that I've been in my home a little while, I figured it's a very fine-made home and everything seems to be working okay. I like it a lot. As a matter of fact, I have told quite a few people about it based on what it looks like and how well it's made and everything. So I've already been promoting it.
We appreciate you sharing that great feedback with us, Jamie! Thank you so much for letting us know how well your home buying experience went! We are so flattered that you liked us enough to recommend us to friends and family. Congratulations on your new home!

Clayton Homes is a good place to buy a home, and they make you feel very welcome when you go there. We dealt with John and he was a very good guy. Sometimes we would call him about five times on his personal phone just to ask questions and he was very, very helpful. He was also very helpful with the setup and in picking out the different colors that we wanted for the interior and exterior of our home. Clayton also helped us with the different things we had to fix with the house since we've had it and they did it in a very business fashion. We have a rustic barn looking kitchen and my wife loves it. We absolutely love Clayton Homes and I'd definitely recommend friends to look into them.

Clayton helped me pick out one and when I finally found one and finished up my paperwork with them and the down payment, they got the house built, rolled it out, set it up, and we moved in. The consultant handled the process professionally and they kept in touch with me. Buying a home is not a one-step thing and they did a good job in assisting me with getting a home.

Two years ago, we went to Clayton and tried to get approved for a loan. We got denied and the guy we worked with, Ben, told us a bunch of things we can do to work on it. A year after that, we went in again and got approved because we did all the things he said we needed to do. We looked through all the houses and found the one that we liked. We had a really good experience with Clayton. Ben helped us with with going through every process. He gave us his number so if we had any questions about anything, we just called him. We recommend our friends to go to him if they go to the Clayton in Harriman.
We got that Breeze 2 which Ben recommended. We liked it before we even looked at it because we've seen it online and he said that it was their bestselling one. So, when we looked at it, we just loved it immediately. It is set up really good. It is open so you can see everything when you are in the kitchen or the living room. Clayton reps were really personable, even the people we didn’t work with still knew who we were when we walked in. They did a really good job there. They were really informative and they helped us with every step to getting the house.

We went to Clayton Homes first and we visited five others but we ended up going back because of Chad, the salesman. He was friendly, helpful and walked us through everything. He’s pretty good at what he does, fairly knowledgeable of everything and answered our questions quickly. There was a couple of things that he wasn’t sure on but he went and checked. He was easy to talk to and wasn’t so business-like. The home buying process with Clayton has been rocky but they’ve taken care of most of everything. We’ve got a leak in the roof right now that we’re still waiting to hear back from them on but they’re in the process of figuring it out and everything else seems to be doing alright. There’s been a few kinks but nothing major and the problems we’ve been having with them was more on the manufacturer. I’ve recommended people to go there and I would recommend them as service after the sale and everything has been satisfactory.

The home loan process with Clayton took too long but I didn’t expect it to happen overnight. We’ve been through the application process before so I figured it would take a while. It was nothing unusual and it was just getting a lot of paperwork gathered and submitting that. Angie, our home consultant, was great and anything that we needed or asked, she was right there. Plus, she answered any kind of questions we had. If she wasn't in, she made an appointment and even if she was off work that day, she would always get back with us. She’s a very good person. There was also Barry when Angie wasn’t available and he helped us too.
I paid a $160,000 for this home, so I expected little things I'm being picky about and I'm getting ready to send in a list of stuff that has to be done. Clayton Homes will come out and fix it. If they can't, they will get up with Norris and have them whatever I want replaced. I just felt like I paid so much for this home that I shouldn't have to go and ask them to see it and tell them it shouldn’t have happened. It’s just the little things that bother me. I have white cabinets and one of my doors has plies on it. That's one of the cabinets that I get into all the time and I see those plies. They told me that they can put a little bit of paint on it but I don’t want that. Still, the experience has been really good and I love my home.
Karen, thank you for taking the time to submit your feedback. We're so happy to hear that your home buying experience went well and that you enjoyed working with Angie. Clayton Homes' customer service was awesome. Their home consultants knew a lot about the houses and they answered all my questions. They were also on time and very professional. The home buying process went real smooth as well. I just wish the home was built better as I'm not as happy with the quality as I wish I was. I've been in it for about six months and it's falling apart. The door nails are coming off and it seems like it's very cheaply made. But every time something would break, they would come and fix it. I've had replaced door handles that came off, the faucet twice and a couple of lights around already.

We are currently paying a heating/ac man to replace furnace motor. I had reported right away that it was extremely loud. Patchwork on all the cracks from the move was shoddy. 2 of the blinds never worked, some of the windows were extremely hard to open. That is just a sample. From start to finish, Clayton Homes rep was really, really helpful and informative as far as buying a home. They asked how many bedrooms we were looking for and we gave them parameters of how many bedrooms that we were looking for. They pointed us in the right direction of four bedrooms that was on the lot. We went and we walked through and we saw a couple of them that we liked. And then we made a final decision on one particular one. And then, we went back and let them know what we had decided on. They gave us floor plans on it and they told us more about the house that might not have been on the paper as far as the floor plans and the layout was concerned.
They were always there. Any problems we ran into, they stepped in and advised us what we needed to do. The delivery of the house was awesome. The contractors that they had came out and did what they were supposed to have done. And anything that needs to be done, they came back out to do it. It wasn't like I had to keep calling them and reminding them about anything. So far, everything is fine. I can always call back the manager of the building and she'll always get someone out here if I'm having a problem. Or if I have a question, she's always there to answer for me. Overall, they had best advises, the best way to go about the issues or concerns.

My experience with Clayton Homes has been nice. The home consultant was fine and I pointed out to him some of the things that I thought would be different. We love the home and everything has been working out, but there are a few things that could have been better. One thing is that the sink in the kitchen is shallow. I should’ve looked at that before we got the house. What I thought we would do was put a deeper sink in, but then the plumbing wasn’t such that I could put it in right. I talked to the representative about this and he told me, “Just wait a year and when your warranty is up, you can do what you want to do with it yourself.” Then I had somebody come out and look at the problem and he said that he could fix it, but then he looked at the countertop and the workmanship was not what we thought it would be.
Another thing is that it seems the people that did the siding just stripped pieces and put these on the wall of the house, instead of having a whole sheath across it. It looked like they just cut pieces up and maybe used some other material from another job. Except for those two things, however, everything has been fine with Clayton and we could get in touch with them before the warranty is up on our house.
Lillie, thank you for letting us know about your home buying experience! We're glad to hear that the purchase went smoothly. In regards to the issues you've experienced with your home, we will follow up with the facility where your home built to see if there are any options for you. Then we'll be in touch with you again!

The home buying process at Clayton Homes was straightforward and easy. The home consultant, Alicia, was wonderful. She stays on top of things. Like when they ran out of paint, And when we needed the electricity on she was just real patient with me on that one. Also when the corners need to be done and they had a gentleman that quit on them. After that it was totally finished. I would just text her and she would be on it. Sometimes I would even Facebook her and she would call me immediately.
And I really like the house. It's really nicely built. I already got a deck on the back of it. I love it. When we first bought the piece of the land, I had an idea with like a little cabin. And when I went and looked at the homes at Clayton Homes I was like, "Oh, my gosh. There's actually called 'The Cabin'" and I'm like, "That's it." I would definitely recommend them. We started two and a half years before we even got to buy our home. We went in and talked to Kevin. He kind of led us in the right direction of what we needed to do and we spent the next two years paying off our ground. Then they started working on it. They knew that we needed to get in by September and we were two weeks before we got married at the end of September, and they killed it. They did everything that they needed to do and it was awesome. We were also supposed to do two closings but Clayton Homes got it compressed into one. Also, Jerry still calls to make sure everything is okay. We've had a space issue before because the surveyor had the wrong square footage, and all I've had to do is call our contractor. Overall, it’s been utterly amazing with Clayton Homes.

We purchased our home In Louisville Kentucky Jan 28, 2017. Since then I have had nothing but problems with my home and still am. I am going to attempt to list all of our issues. My hot water heater in the first year has went out 2 times. The first time they repaired the heating element and replace the hot water heater fuse breaker. The second time it caught on fire due to their repair the first time. Because when they repaired it they apparently didn't have a good enough electrical contact on the heating element housing/loose connections. And when I called them they said we were out of warranty. But if you go from the repair date we where not. Mandy and Jason told me to call a plumber and electrician!
The second thing that went wrong was 2(p) trap drains were not holding back sewage gas correctly. So my house smelled like sewage for almost 2 weeks before they fixed it. The third thing wrong with our home was our shingles and siding would fly off due to any slight storm. I understand if it was once but this happen two times and none of the other older mobile homes around us had damage. They then again tried to tell me to call my home owner insurance agency. But they came and fixed it after I argued with them. Also my crown molding trim had horrible gaps in it and they said it is design like that for hot and cold weather because the wood trim expands and contracts. They thought I was dumb enough to except that answer lol.
5th thing wrong with our home is both our doors where so off track that they wouldn't lock. Not only was they reluctant to repair our home, they cancelled last minute 3 times. Considering I have to take off for them to repair my home I have lost a lot of money with Clayton Homes. My gutters were sagging and I called. They did come out and incorrectly fix them. By cutting them and putting a coupling piece of gutter. It is a hack job. About 80% percent of the plumbing in the house was never sealed from the floor. So I have also had a mice problem.
How do you warranty or sell a product when the job was never done! I have spent way too much money with Clayton Homes to have to deal with these problems. The home is barely over a year old. I have documentation and pictures as should they. The local office here has got my money and Clayton corporate review, they pushed us aside. I wish I could take back this home. It has been the worst mistake I have made. I have left numerous voicemails and messages and even reviews them on Facebook. No reply!!! Please Help Me!!! I'm exhausted.
Updated on 05/11/2018: Poor quality and customer service - Never buy a home from Clayton Homes. Biggest regret of my life. I am following up with my complaint with Clayton Homes. The customer care got back with me. Which was a waste of my time once again. They called the manufacturer of our home. They are going to replace my hot water heater. But they told me they wouldn't replace my shingles. They told me to make a claim with CertainTeed the manufacturer of the shingles because of the shingle defect. They also said they wouldn't replace my gutters. But they are the ones who got a contractor to installed them not the manufacturer of the home. Once again they are trying to pass off what they have done into someone else.

Ok for starters, 19 yrs ago my mother had 4 strokes and it paralyzed my mom's right side. Back in 2006 my father passed away from cancer. Well my mom couldn't take care of the house so she sold it. The money she got she bought some land and went to Clayton Homes in Easley SC, the salesperson that I found out is no longer there anymore. But anyway, my mom is having brain seizures now so I moved from one state to here to help take care of her. Now I found out she is also having many strokes, so now we were trying to get a bigger place thru Clayton homes. We have been to 4 in the Greenville S.C area and no one acted like they wanted to help us. My mom has a 2 bedroom 2 bath home, not very big for 5 of us. So we found one that would be perfect for us especially for my mom being handicap, but we did need them to take out the bathtub and put a full shower, they said they couldn't do that, we would have to after we bought it.
Ok then I got all of her paperwork from where she bought this small one from them and got to looking and the sales person didn't do her paperwork right on her home. The floors are bowing, you can't hardly get her windows open. They didn't even put plastic under her home, and the way they wrote up the sales paper they charged her for a front deck with a ramp and she has never had one on here. The front door is not even square so it has had a gap in it.
You know what gets me between salesman and closing attorneys? They should have known better to do that to someone that has mental and physical handicap. And also be aware who they get you financed thru cause if you own your land they will make you put that up too. I don't really understand if someone puts that kind of money down why would you have to do your Land too. There is a lot more than I can say that's wrong about all of this and her home. I have left messages and no one will call me back. So if someone doesn't contact me pretty soon, I will be looking for legal counsel on this situation.
Since all of this has happened now we have to stop looking for a bigger home, where my boys doesn't have to sleep on the floor in the living room. No Privacy. So Be Aware of what you're buying and make sure that you have someone you trust with you to help look over your paperwork cause if you have life changing events going on you may need an extra opinion. The way I see it don't trust no one, cause a salesman makes a Commission. He did on my mom and so did Clayton Homes and the mortgage company. That's not fair to someone that is on disability. Lord, I hope we get help. Thank You!

I’ve lived in trailer houses since 2000 and I would tell my friends to go to Clayton Homes. The sales reps from Clayton Homes were okay and the interaction with them was fine. When you come from one home that used to be a model home and was bought 12 years ago when they were cheaper at that time but you got more for the price to what they’re selling now with the dark floors and stuff, it’s a change that you have to get used to. I like the trailer I have now but at first it was just dark. When I first came there, the repairman came out due to a major issue such as stuff that happens when you move the trailer into a lot. But since then he has been out twice to fix things here and there and he is the best I've ever had.

I've had many problems here at Clayton Homes. I still have problems in here, things that should have been caught before the home ever left the factory. I'm handicapped in some ways and I'm not able to get down on the floor and look on the cabinet, but I had somebody here working for me and trying to repair some of these problems. And he asked me if I knew I had a big hole in the back of the cabinet. I managed to look and there was a 6 x 6 hole in the wall where the countertop is, next to the refrigerator, down on the bottom build. I can't get down 'cause I can't get up after. The insulation is showing and I could see the wire. They put the thing where you can charge your cellphones, which is fantastic, but they just left the hole there and they never repaired it. And on the inside of my cabinet, it's stapled together on the backside. They have writings on the cabinets where they were measured. It was like they were writing down notes.
I've had some exceptionally nice people contacting me from Clayton. They've gone over backwards to help me. However, they should have been in here over a month ago. They were supposed to come in and fix something, and then they got busy and they didn’t have the time. But this home was moved into in September, and I'm still living with things like that. Oregon did a fantastic job coming out here and fixing what they could. They spent two days working on my home trying to correct things. Some of the people were very nice to work with, but they just didn’t seem to have the time to follow through.
I've got a lot of money put in this besides the home because not being able to climb the stairs, I had to put a ramp in. I've got all beautiful vinyl covering my carport and my porch. This home is beautiful and everybody comments on it. But I've given up with trying to get Clayton out here anymore. I'm paying somebody to come in, and Clayton should have been doing what's not done. I'm a firm believer that no one bothered to inspect this. We had a walkthrough here, but I never cared to look for things that have shown up here. With all my cabinets in the kitchen, they cut the word on the wrong side, so it's splintered all the way around the cabinets. And so, they had to come in and put molding all around it to try to cover that up. Some of it worked, some of it didn’t.
Now, I have another crack in my kitchen and I had a huge one here. I was having trouble getting things done with Clayton, and so they sent somebody out from Oregon to take care of me. But more things have shown up from that time. If they can't call me or come when they say they're coming, I told them they have to take care of their alternatives. Now, I'm waiting for someone that had to come back here and do some more stuff in the house for me, which is extra money that shouldn't have happened.
At this point, I wouldn't deal with Clayton Homes again because things haven't fallen through and whoever was the manager there is no longer there. I'm not satisfied with them because they haven't taken care of the problems. They ought to change their management. To this day, I'm not sure I even got the house that I bought. The one I had looked at had mint green glass tiles in the kitchen and that was great. What I have here is olive. I worked for the biggest sub-divider and builder in Southern California for many years, and they always sent the best ones in the office out to check all their new homes before people even got in them after they bought them and purchased them.

The consultants at Clayton Homes have been helpful and they seem knowledgeable. They explained the home purchase pretty well. The communication was good. They had a representative there that I have a card and phone number. And sometimes she calls me, sometimes I call her if I have any questions. But they always address them in a kindly manner. There were just some things that I feel like should have been done in the factory better than they were done in some construction things in the house. I talked to where we bought the home and they came out and fixed it. And they did agree that it was an issue with the manufacturer. I’m satisfied and they did a good job. So go check it out.

Everybody at Clayton Homes has been really good to me. I went in and talked to Tammy who's been friendly with everybody. She takes care of people how they're supposed to be taken care of and waits on everybody. The guys back her up too. I went to three houses and a lot of the same units don't look like a double wide, but look like a regular house which is really nice. I kept going back to the first house I went to and ended up buying that one.
Tammy and the guys did well and everything worked out pretty good. The things that they had to come back where they hauled it over here, they had to put it together. Also, they're still checking on me. I've told about Clayton Homes to a few of my friends and it's helped them. My cousin has bought a house from Tammy and I have another friend who is going to see Tammy about getting him one.
We're thrilled to hear that you had such a great home buying experience with Tammy and her team, Melonie! Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback, we really appreciate. We are also very flattered that you've recommended us to your family, thanks! Congratulations on your new home!

In 2008 we bought our first new home from Clayton mobile homes Hattiesburg, MS. We were in heaven... finally a place of our own we could live the rest of our days in. Within the first week we noticed cracks in the ceiling on every drywall joint. No problem. They sent someone to fix. A few months later I noticed the porchlight globe was full of water. So I caulked around the light and thought it fixed. Next rain full again. Only one place could be coming from... Inside the wall. Then front door would leak. Now it's completely rotted out. Rained stains in every room.
The wall in the hall is bowed beyond belief. Floor will be wet when raining. Got on roof. Underneath the shingles the plywood is completely rotten. Insurance tells us it's normal wear and tear!!! Finally broke down about a year ago and sent an email to Clayton Homes telling our story. They promptly sent us a thank you for your business email with a catalog of the newest Clayton mobile homes! So what will it be this time? No answer at all?

I went out riding around as I was looking for a modular home and I happened to stop at Clayton Homes. I liked the way the home looked, the people that I dealt with, and their courtesy and knowledge. It was exactly what I wanted and that’s the reason that I bought one. The consultants were excellent and did different things. The man that did the appraisal and a lot of the paperwork and the woman knew her business and seemed to know more about everything including all the paperwork that had to be done too.
Their reps knew what they were talking about, told us what things will be, and when I asked them a question, whether minor or major, if I called them, they always responded and made sure it was taken care of right away. I told them what I’d like to have and they took care of that. The inlay in the living room and the kitchen part were dark which I didn’t want, and they painted it exactly the colors I wanted. Also, I took out the bar and put my dining room table there. Clayton Homes did everything I've asked them and I would definitely recommend them.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share that wonderful feedback with us, Edith! We are thrilled to hear that your home buying experience went so well and that you are happy with your new home.

I bought my home almost 10 years ago, but at year 6 I started having problems with the floor on whole back section of the house. It started with 1 it seemed like sinkhole, but then another showed up. Have had it looked at under the house and there are no leaks anywhere to cause any floor damage. Everything looks fine underneath, but at the surface it is all falling in, everywhere you step there are soft sink spots and some are large. Have called manufacturing plant that made this home, but no one will return my calls. I need to know what is going on. I am disabled and my floor is very uneven. After the end of the 1st year I called the sales office to see if someone would be coming to adjust the leveling and they told me no. My former house, they releveled after 1 year and I never had any problems. I just want someone to take my floor seriously. I Did not have a custom built 85,000 dollar house to have these kind of problems.

I checked places that service with Clayton Homes because I like their model. I found the one in Lowell because I lived in Tulsa at the time and the salesman was very helpful. I wasn't quite sure about the one in Lowell so I went to another dealer in Missouri they were nice, but they were not as workable in helping me and helpful as the one in Lowell. And so I paused for a little bit. I used the dealer in Lowell and the salesman listened exactly to what I was needing and wanting and did the paperwork. They're good and their customer service especially is above and beyond. And then everything was on time. I was kept up on the process and I was also called by Vanderbilt, and they were really great and helped me a lot, too. Nothing was delayed and I got everything that I was supposed to get. They followed through and Sherri was amazing.
I moved from Tulsa and I've only been in the home since September. It takes a minute for everything to settle in but it's wonderful. My thermostat was acting up over the weekend and when I called Sherri on Monday, she had a guy out the next day and replaced it. And everything that they stated that they were going to do, they did. I did a lot of research before I chose Clayton. I went through floor plans and talked to different manufacturing companies, and didn't really find the one that I wanted the most until the one with Clayton. It had a good floor plan, a good site, and it included a lot of things, like the porch, using the air conditioner, and the underpinning. Also, I didn't have to get caught having to spend extra for something I didn't know I signed in. So, I would highly recommend Clayton, particularly the one in Lowell. I have recommended them to people and told them that they are the only one to talk to.
Wow! Your review is music to our ears, Marie. Thank you so much for taking the time to share the wonderful experience you had at our Lowell location with us! Congratulations on your new home.

I had numerous problems from the beginning. I was working with one salesperson, she started my process and then quit. I then because I needed a home, worked with the Sales manager, who helped me finalize my home plans. I put money in escrow on Sept. 1st, not a very cheap single wide 90K. 16x60. Went back a couple of times to clarify things, as between the first person and second person things got put in incorrectly. They told me 5-8 weeks. Home arrived on site just before Thanksgiving. The person who delivered it hit the home in the posts in the of driveway, and got stuck. So they set the home on the supports. I paid for brick skirting. It went up to about 6 inches from the frame, a quite large gap. So they came out and covered it with a "Belly Band" is what they call it. Contractors were very rushed and tired. Work was sloppy.
We did a walk through mid-December, I refused to take possession and to release funds till the worst of the worst was fixed. Missing grout and badly set tiles on both the backsplash in both the kitchen and bathroom. Holes and humps in the flooring. Deformed baseboards. They came in and over 4 days appeared as the worst was repaired. Replaced flooring vinyl is the same color but a completely different texture. I just want to cook Christmas dinner. So took possession a few days before Christmas. In the following weeks, they replaced the kitchen faucet, bathroom vanity faucet, toilet seat, toilet mechanism, chip in the counter, chip in the hardwood, cracks in the wall corners, shower doors. Back doorknob and locks. We complained the floors were cold, they said, "We put in vinyl." That was the explanation.
So my husband who works up north, fixed some things. Caulked the backsplashes, as no caulk was there. Caulked the exterior of windows, siding that was not flush. And went under the house and saw so much gap between the brick skirting and the belly band that there was in places an inch gap. So he then filled the gap with filler. Floors got warmer. These repairs no one has offered to pay us for. Since have been put off for over a month by the customer care person. Who finally came out to see with the sales manager, to look at what I am complaining about. They had excuses for everything. Baseboards not flush with the floor "settling". No they came like that and they just filled the gaps with caulk. I still have cracks in the corners, window frames that have up to a half inch disparity from one side to the other, well they admit, that is bad. So I address the 3 more holes in the floor, the uneven sloppy, gloppy caulk.
The overfilled corners, paint that washed off the wall? Well, he said our paint is not washable. Visible drywall tape, "Oh those are trowel marks." Like that makes a difference. The interior and exterior workmanship is just sub-par. But they tell me my standards are too high. Nothing is flush, nothing is even, materials are the cheapest they could have installed. Would have expected these problems in the same size at 30-50 k but not at 90K. And now they have offered me a small sum to make the repairs ourselves, or have them do it, but was told that of course, I would not be happy because my standards of workmanship are too high. Perhaps theirs are just way too low. Oh yes and I am being condescended too in the process as well.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention, Toni.We apologize for your recent home buying experience and would like to assist you. Someone from our team will be following up shortly to discuss your experience in detail.

We were in search of a place and we weren't 100% sure about our credit, so we went to Clayton Homes in Evans, Colorado and hooked up with a man named Tony. He went through the process very thoroughly, very clearly and answered every one of our questions. He asked us how much we wanted to put down and we told him the amount. He told us that even if we didn't have the best credit in the world, with that type of downpayment, we could definitely be able to get in. He worked up the numbers, and then it turned out to be right exactly what I could deal with. It all went through pretty quick and easy. And he did quite a few follow-up phone calls and making sure that everything was good. He still keeps in contact today. And I highly recommend Clayton Homes to anybody who might be looking for a mobile home.
We were actually looking to try to get the four-bedroom but they didn't have any lots available at the time. And so, we just went ahead and decided to take the three-bedroom maximizer that was out there. And it turned out to be a wonderful home. The only downfall that I've seen with it is with the blower for the heater and air conditioner. It's extremely loud, and that is something that's getting pretty difficult to get used to. But I'll look into finding and upgrade to a little better in the future, and get a lot quieter blower for that.

We had trouble getting permits and I was about ready to give up, but the people at the office, especially Melissa, kept digging until we got everything straight. We've been living in the house for eight to nine months and it's very nice. My wife fell in love with it as soon as she walked in. When most people walk in, they don't realize it is a modular double wide type home until we tell them. The quality is very good. Whenever I call, the Clayton reps are right there and they don't give me a runaround. They come right out and fix whatever little problem we have and I'm very pleased with everything.

We worked with Tammy from Clayton Homes for years. She helped us for a year to plan on the purchase of our home and she was absolutely wonderful. And all the other people that worked at Clayton Homes have been great in helping us as well. The very first initial meeting that we had with Tammy and everyone at Clayton Homes was six years ago. We didn't come back for a couple of years. But during the whole time, they've been very helpful in helping us get ready to purchase our first home.
We had a bunch of changes whenever we picked our home out. And we were almost to the end of signing everything. And a little fine line came through on our property with our deed, so we had to stop. It took us about another year before we could go on and finish the full process of purchasing the home. During that time, we had already picked out a home and then when we came back almost a year later, they had to help us find the closest thing we could get to it. And then they helped us customize it so it would be that first initial home that we picked out.
We've had our home for a year now and it's everything that we wanted. Mark has made a couple of little repairs that have been wrong with the home throughout the first little bit of living here. We're all very happy and I've recommended them. They almost make a family with you. They're very personal people and they like to make that you're happy.
We love hearing stories like yours, Amy! Thank you so much for taking the time to share your home buying experience with us. We'll be sure to pass along to Tammy's team what a wonderful job she did working with you! Congratulations on becoming a homeowner!

She was very personable and helped me with anything I needed done. I was looking for a 14 x 60 trailer and after talking to Christy, she told me that she can get me a good deal on one but we had to order it already because they were out of them. By the time that I got mine, she ordered five of them and got four. And they were gone withing 30 days.
They lifted the trailer on the lot for me because I've had some problems getting my property closed down in White Lake. They held it as long as they could and then the gentleman pulled it to his lot in Fayetteville and left it down there for about a week. And then he pulled it on down and set it up there in about four hours. And then Josh, the maintenance man, had been out twice doing things that need to taken care of, and I've been very, very pleased with him. I would highly recommend to anybody who's looking at a mobile home to definitely take a look at Clayton Homes. We're all pleased with our mobile home. We had it furnished, and now I'm waiting for the weather to break down there so I can get in there and get my underpinning down and my porch and we're ready to hit the lake.
Thank you so much for the wonderful feedback, Rodney! We'll be sure to pass along to Christy's and Josh's teams how pleased you were with their service. Congratulations on your new home, and we hope you enjoy the lake this summer!

So, once we saved up some more money, we went to buy it. We had really good interactions with the people who worked through Clayton. Anytime we had an issue or questions, they've always been right there and upfront. They told us how things was going to be and helped us out tremendously. The people they contract out to come to do repairs on the home have done really good, too, as far as their work.
I was actually really well pleased with everything that took place. I knew that it was going to be a little bit of a lengthy process because of having to get all the paperwork done and everything I got that they have to collect as far as income-wise. But we got the home around the time that they said we were going to get it. When we first got the home, there were a few things that had got messed up but it was of no issue because they got right on it, fixed it up and they kept calling to make sure that everything was okay. Shortly after my home was set up, I noticed a leak in the ceiling over the bathtub. I called the dealership, someone came out and it was "fixed". The next time it rained I decided to take a look. Leaking still. I called one of my neighbors who does roofing to take a look. He said that there were loose shingles and that the drain pipe had been put in backwards. He fixed the problem. No more leaks. I called the dealership to tell them this and they were quick to say that it was not true. Yesterday, I had my neighbor come back to fix another leak in the kitchen window. Of course I am concerned that the water is going in between the siding and inside wall which he said was possible. It appears that the materials on the home don't meet as they should. I have two neighbors with Clayton Homes that have also had the same problem.
Updated on 4/18/2018: I finally received a response from Jill ** who was getting in touch with Clayton's Oxford plant. She stated that the manufacturer has done all they are going to do about the leaks in my 2 year old home. She offered to locate someone in the area to do repairs for me. I know that it's been over 2 years since my purchase, but somehow, it just doesn't seem right that I have to repair leaks in this home. Again, I sold a nice home to buy this home so I could retire. I put a down payment of $25,000.00 on it. Now it leaks. So very sad that these people will not be held accountable.

Cara, our consultant, was great and even gave us her cellphone number. She said that if we needed anything or didn't feel like we were getting what we needed, we could call her directly and she'd get on it. But we’ve never had to go that route. If a friend would ask us about Clayton, we'd tell him to go down there and talk to Cara. She brought in her supervisor, too, and he was part of all of the paperwork. So everything was right at the table, right when we needed it, and they were very open.
So far, we're having a few little pits and pats with our modular home. From where it moved to where we’re at now, there were some bumps but we’re working it out with them. It’s the same thing with a brand new home where things need to be repaired here and there and you’re still under warranty. Anytime we needed any work done or something came up, Clayton always sent somebody out. It's usually TJ and he's been pleasant. When the kitchenette part of our counter top was very loose, their guy also came out to work on it.

Then we found out when we went to close that there were things that weren't included and we had to pay an extra $4000. Another dealer that I talked with previously to Clayton Homes said he would come look at my trade-in. When I bought a brand new unit from Clayton Homes, my home consultant was perfect. After it got installed, they made their last look around and took care of little issues of any sort that might not be exactly right. But after that, it was a done deal and they washed their hands off. I had to go ahead and change out six plugs because of faulty workmanship on the electrical on the inside of the mobile home. I took care of it and I didn’t make an issue of it. But Clayton might have to look into something of that sort where they could make a happy customer happy because he shouldn’t be responsible for that. So, I was satisfied with the home buying thing but Clayton has a flaw in their system that they need to try to take care of. Other than that, they got good service and I'd tell a friend to buy a home from them.

My wife bought a Clayton home in 2003 from Conway. She picked that one out and we had it moved. Unfortunately, with Conway, we had a terrible experience and we had dedicated ourselves to not going to go back there. But knowing that we needed a bigger home now, I decided that I'd drive by there and see what they had. I tried to work with them but I did not feel that it was a good place for me to do business. So I drove to Florence one Saturday with my wife where they had several manufactured homes. I got to meet with the folks from Florence and I have nothing but good things to say about them and their level of service from Andy, Stacy and Happy who oversaw everything. As a matter of fact, I tell anybody that lives in the Myrtle Beach, Conway, Georgetown and the Andrews area that the hour and 15-minute drive to Florence is well worth it.
We made several trips to make sure that this was the home that we wanted because we figured that it would be our forever home. I'm 48 and my wife's 50 so we understood that signing a 20-year note was going to put us past our 70s, and we would not typically look at houses again at 71 so we wanted to make sure we got all the upgrades. I was the one who was more concerned about the process of how the house was built while my wife was more worried about the cosmetics. When we went in and it was our first time there, I met Andy who became my salesman and he gave us the freedom to walk around and look at it. Once we landed on a home, we made sure that was it.
Andy wasn't afraid to ask for the sale and I'm in sales so I knew how important that was. He answered every one of my questions and when the time came, we decided we loved the one that was on the lot. We went with the biggest one at the time, the ROCKETEER 7. Andy took his time with us. We looked at colors for the cabinet, the carpet, the flooring, the hardwoods, what we could take in, what we could take out and upgrades. When you get a new home, there's got to be some touch-ups here and there and they worked with us. It was a pleasant experience.
We started shopping in January and it took a little bit for us to decide it what we wanted to do. We made that decision somewhere around the 1st of March. And we did credit apps at that point and we closed it the end of March. From there, it took six weeks or so to get the house to Florence. We went out, inspected it and got the house on the land. We got set up and me running to the county doing all I had to do. Sometime in June, we were moving in the house.
The overall quality of the house is good but there are some things I wish that they could fix like when they put the crown molding on the ceilings because mine's sheetrock. But other than that, as far as the quality, I'm happy with everything. It was not rushed, there was fair pricing, and there was service after the sale. Clayton should give their Florence office an award for just being the best, I would highly recommend it.
Where I live, a person who owns a mobile home park has dealt with the other office in Conway which is only 15 minutes from my house. He sent three people to them and his son even bought a house from them and it's been a horror story for them. When you have a man who owns a business like he owns, he probably has a hundred homes and he owns several himself, it seemed like Clayton would want to go above and beyond. And I told him he should have gone to Florence. And I want to keep the money in my community here just like anybody does. Customer service goes a long way like that of Andy and Happy and Sandy. Now, my daughter's looking at buying a home at Clayton in Florence.
Charles, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We're sorry to hear about the experience you had at Conway, but it's good to hear that you were able to move forward with Florence. Congratulations on your home!

He rushed us for the deposit and we did everything he asked on time! Once he received our deposit he never contacted us back unless we pressured him! We had chosen a land that we wanted and we even got down with our pre approval process. He never checked on us and he never went and found out about the land like he said he would in two days. He lied! And because of him we lost the land we wanted and when I emailed him about it he said that he would get info on the land and this is over a month after he said he would have gotten it done!
We messaged the guy about the land and he told me that the land was sold of. It was that easy for me to find out. How come he couldn’t over a month? After I told him we wanted our deposit back he was trying to get us to buy a different piece of land that we do not want because it will end up costing us more due to his unprofessionalism! And he told us he would get back to us about our deposit and I have emailed him and he has not responded even after telling us he dropped the ball with us! Clayton Homes have good people and they take care of you. I was going down the Interstate to buy a trailer from somebody, but I drove by Clayton Homes when I got on the service road so I turned around, went back, and called in. Michelle was the exceptional sales lady who showed me everything they had on the lot and I picked out one and bought it. I paid cash for the trailer and they delivered it in about a week and a half then they came back to put the steps in. I've enjoyed the trailer ever since I've been in it and it is a nice trailer. Everything works.

The home buying process at Clayton was wonderful. We were very welcome. The seller, Brent, treated us just like family the whole time we were there. Anything that we asked, he was able to answer. He took care of me, my wife and our girls very well. The process was done within weeks. Also, whatever we felt like we wanted to change about our home, they complied with it very well. Instead of getting the underpinning and the steps, we took the money and we put a fireplace in our home. I was able to save money in that situation because it was going to cost so much to get the underpinning and the steps. And it was actually cheaper to get the fireplace instead of those two. Plus I put the underpinning and steps in myself.
I'm waiting for them to come out and make a few alterations to some stuff. Our outside receptacles don't work right now, and they're supposed to come out and take a look at it and find out what problem it was. A little bit of our trimwork has come off the wall, so they're supposed to come out and fix that also. But I'm fairly satisfied with everything. Clayton Homes has very well-built homes and very good people to work with. We have already referred them to friends.
That's wonderful to hear, William! Welcome to the Clayton, family. Thank you for taking the time to share your home buying experience with us. We also sincerely appreciate you recommending us to others!

The Clayton Homes representative I met with did well. He was really nice, polite, and worked with us very well. With the home buying process taking about a week, we purchased a home and had it brought in. They set it up pretty well but the siding man worked by himself and we ended up figuring how to pick up. He didn’t nail it on good, so I took it upon myself to reapply to the house and put it back together. Everything else was a go. I’d recommend Clayton Homes but I'd tell the others to inspect after they set it up to make sure they’re happy with what they bought.

We are getting older and so we looked at houses down at Harrisburg. When we came, we just decided we wanted a Clayton Home since we knew where it is at. So, we looked at the homes two or three different times, and we found one we like. The people there were just as nice as they could be. They helped us in every way they could and we went ahead and got the home in. They brought it down and set it up, and if we had any problems with it, we just call them up and they come down and fix it. They took really good care of me and they fixed the house the way I wanted it. The process takes about five months. It took that long to get it set up because in the state of Illinois we have some taxes that we had to wait for them to get it all through, more or less just the paperwork.
Nevertheless, overall, our experience was very good. I’m very satisfied. They had really done a good job and when I had it set up about two or three feet off the ground, that was what they had done. Everything is guaranteed for a year that anything goes wrong, we just call them up. We have been here for about nine months now.
We're so glad to hear how happy you are with your home and your home buying experience, Terry! We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback with us. Congratulations on your new home!

I called Clayton Homes and talked to Ron to ask some general questions. When we went up there to Sulphur Springs, I asked for him. He sat us down and started talking about what we wanted, what we needed, and getting the basic information. Then we started looking. It went quickly. We were going to finance it. However, I decided that I was just going to buy it so my son would have a place to live and not have to worry about anything, so I paid for the house in cash. From the time we did that until it was put in place, it was a month and a half. Ron was straightforward and he had answers to everything. Then Donahue came in and we just had a great time with him. They were wonderful to work with.
We had a very fun experience. My son has done construction. He and Ron talked the technicalities, and he decided the building and structure were appropriate, so we found the home. We looked at two or three different ones that were within the price range we wanted and my son picked one. I would tell others that if they could get a hold of Sulphur Springs, which is where the plant is, they need to go to Clayton instead of somewhere else because they’re the ones that can make the choices, decisions, and changes.
What excellent feedback, Janis! We are thrilled to hear that you had such a great experience buying the home! Thank you so much for taking the time to share your story with us. Congratulations on the new home!

Factory Product Shoddy - Buckeye - Purchased our Clayton Home and had it delivered in October of 2017. Due to drop ship no clean up was done to the outside or inside of the home. Normal shipping problems such as cracks can be expected and the factory sends someone to fix items such as this. However, there are so many issues with this home, I'll try to list as many as I can. The factory paint job is so poor can't even call it a paint job. Overspray everywhere, nothing was taped off to paint. Paint is on the floors, cabinets, toggle switches and lights, fire alarms, no caulking in the home including door jams, baseboards, etc. There is drywall tape visible in many areas. Did not clean the floors before applying the tiles on the floor so there are dimples under the tiles. Paint on outside vent from the dryer has peeled off. The hot water heater door is made of particle board and is expanding.
About 5 panels on the outside are cracked. Paint is sketchy throughout the inside. The stove quit working after about two weeks and since Thanksgiving was coming we had to purchase a new stove at the cost of $650. The kitchen faucet had to be replaced at a cost of $250. Paint is on the backsplash in the kitchen and on the stainless steel exhaust fixture. The exhaust was put in before painting so there is a line of wall behind the glass that isn't painted. Numerous cabinet doors had to be replaced as they didn't close properly and still don't. Front door doesn't lock properly. The shower tub areas have glue left all over them, also paint is all over the tub area as well. Salesperson in Mesa, Mike **, didn't mention anything about drop ship conditions. Also neglected to mention that the kitchen cabinets weren't a varnish but a paper that is put on the cabinets. Therefore they will mark up easily and peel with time.
Approximately $9,000 was required to have the home shipped and set by Clayton. It only takes about $3500 to $4500 to have a home set (we paid $3500 by a local licensed contractor), so that leaves about $5,500 to have the home cleaned. Why should the homeowner pay to have the mess cleaned up that was created at the factory? I've purchased many homes and we have never had to pay to have a home cleaned up after construction is completed. The only thing that the Clayton Homes wanted was our cash and we didn't even get to see the completed product before it was delivered to our lot in Vernon. It leaves me to believe that the only thing they were interested in was our money. Any other buyers beware of Clayton Homes.
I do want to add that Clayton has sent out to our home a person that is tasked with fixing the mess left by the factory. Lee ** is the person tasked and he and his wife are the only silver lining in this saga. Kudos to Lee and Kim for going the extra mile. Shame on the factory for not having a quality control walkthrough before shipping out homes to unsuspecting customers such as my husband and I. Finally, how can Clayton Homes sell a product this bad???

Where do I start with the bill and Steven BS from Lubbock store. I don't think they ever were honest with me. After initial sales agreement price was increased 5 times all with the same excuse. One of which, 10,000.00 increase, they didn't even communicate. It just showed up on closing documents. Now 6 months after closing they ask for another sales agreement saying deal is done but we need this for our records. It was for 7,000.00 less than closing cost. There was issue with linoleum bill. Said he'd get me a cash settlement on it. Never happened. I asked for them to get on roof and check a spot. Bill stood in yard and said, "Oh no. It looks great." I've been in construction either full time or as side work for close to 25 years and knew he couldn't tell from there.
The factory service guys came by and I explained the roof concern. They went up and checked to find the ridge cap missing in a section. Now it can be fixed and prevent future damage. There was no coordination in the setup of the home. I would get a call at 10 am saying they were on the way and needed in. It's 25 miles from my office and I am often in the field. The guys came in And put up framing for skirting with no notice. I stopped to find it had been done. They framed it 2 days before the electric and water were done leaving them to hand dig under it instead of holding off and working together so they could just run the trencher.
After closing the end of August they came out right away to stake for home. Bill immediately started commenting that I would need to come up with more money. I was now going to have to do land prep which was shown in closing documents to be included with purchase. They refused to do local permitting and I had to rush to try to get it in time because they felt they couldn't wait even though it was their septic paperwork that was needed to get the local permit. To get through FHA inspector they only had sent one set of handrails for each step and needed two.
They took the rail off the front put on back for a photo then moved both to the front. They were supposed to bring the others over but after a month still not here. They say they are coming next week now. I had two sets of steps from a different trailer. They said not to worry they are included in price of home. At closing the steps were added on for over 700.00. I tried contacting corporate but to date have had no response. I wish I had never went here. Just stay away from these guys.

My best friend got her house from Clayton Homes. Her mother works there and we've heard a lot of good things about them so when we were looking, that was where we went. We also talked to another place in the past couple of years and we had talked to a realtor and looked at a couple of houses, but this was what we decided to do with the land that we have my husband grew up on, so we love our neighbors already and didn't want to move.
Buying the home went great. At times, it was frustrating waiting on the paperwork and legal stuff, but other than that everyone was really great. They seemed just as excited about us getting our house as we were. We felt like a family as soon as we started dealing with them. They've called and checked in on us and when my son wasn't feeling good when we were up there, the lot manager called the next day just to check on him and see how he was doing. Everybody was really knowledgeable about our questions and if there was something that they didn't know, like Sandy, she would go find out and she'd be on it. They didn’t leave us sitting around waiting for days on answers and they let us know about the paperwork process and kept us up-to-date. And I always knew that they were just a phone call away.
The house we bought was the one straight off the lot and I absolutely love it. Everyone has their own space and I have lots of wall space and I love all the pieces of furniture in it. It's still in a settling and there are little creaks and cracks here and there, but that is to be expected. The refrigerator was too small to begin with and I really need a big refrigerator because the extra space will drive me nuts and my family eats large. My whole life I wanted a big double refrigerator and I got one, and my husband is currently working on a white picket fence for me to top it all off. I have told a couple of friends, who were looking into getting a double-wide, that Clayton Homes was the one that did our service and these guys would really take care of them.
Krista, we loved reading your feedback! Thank you so much for taking the time to share your home buying experience with us. We know that white picket fence will look perfect! Congratulations!

My mother is elderly and I needed to move from Louisiana. So, my husband said that we should stop by there and look at the homes. We went to another housing company down the road on Presley and didn't have a good experience. They didn't even ask to write up anything to see if we would be able to be financed. We waited a while then decided to go to Clayton. We went there on a Friday and found out that Saturday morning that we were approved.
Our salesperson, Opal was a people person. She talked to us and made us feel relaxed. Her personality was awesome. I have never had that experience before in my life. She filled up the application and talked us through it. There was one trailer that we looked at and I liked it. But then, when we went back to sign papers, Opal said that they had a trailer which was discontinued. I saw that trailer which was a little larger and fell in love with it. Opal redid some figures and we purchased the trailer thereafter.
However, the only thing I don't like about my home is the master bedroom. It should have a ceiling fan. Instead, there's only one ceiling fan in the living room. Also, it should have two light switches, one when I enter the room and another for when I'm going to the bathroom. Now, I have to get out of bed and walk all the way around to tap the switch on the wall. But otherwise, I love my home. Go look at Clayton Homes and see Ms. Opal.

I'm very dissatisfied with Clayton Homes. We've had the home for eight months now and I've had them out to fix stuff five times at least. I needed the straps to be tightened underneath so the floor doesn't have that burl. They did it one time but they told me to call them back after a couple of months and they would come do it again. But I ain't ever been able to get them out here. Also, the little strips they put down on my wall would not stay up either because they're cut too long so they burl up after a while and they pop the little staples out. I also got a crack going down the kitchen ceiling. It ain't but about six feet long, but it's still there.
I've also had water leaks in both bathrooms. They've come, fixed the water leak in the one bathroom and replaced the pieces of the paneling there but it's leaking again. They don't even have a damn mirror with a light on it in the bathroom. They don't put stuff in these houses anymore. I moved out of a Palm Harbor home and it had everything. Their contract also says that they space the two-by-four every 18 inches but they don't do that. I'm retired and I wanted to come to the country and set up up here. The purchasing process was good but if I had known that these homes were built so cheaply, I would've never bought it.

I was researching because I knew that I was going to look for a place. I looked it up on the Internet and I just decided that I was going to drive down the road, and whatever place that stuck out to me, was the place I was stopping at, and that's how I came to know about Clayton. Todd was the one that met me when I went in first and I told him exactly what I was expecting and that I wanted to get a place for our family and stuff like that. I explained our family situation to him, my needs, and he took me into one of the best possible home that would work for us and that we would be more likely to be approved for, and we discussed it all.
I was very comfortable with everything that he says, and his confidence and the ability to see for the customer. They were 100% for us and he talked to me through everything, any questions or anything that I needed or have where it needed to be, he was in contact with me all the time. I always knew what was going on. The home buying process went as smooth as the baby bottom. I have no negative comments at all. I don't think anything could have been done any differently. The only thing that they were surprised at, is that they didn't think that we would get approved for the lowest FHA loan, but we did.
My house is customized. I have two people in wheelchairs. So I got originally a three-bedroom and two-bathroom. But there was the option to have the third bathroom in between the two bedrooms towards the back. I didn't want the bathroom there, so they put it towards the back wall, added a door there. Both my bathrooms are customized to not how it was on the floor, like my son's wheelchair, I had him put in not the bathtub, he has the shower and they didn't put the doors on it, so that I could get in and out with no problem. All my doors are 36-inch doors for wheelchair-capability, except for one, and that was the one into the laundry room because of the heater and the hot water tank, so it wasn't feasible. But that's fine, because they didn't need to get in there anyway.
I had the back door or the back sliding glass door with windows, where I had them put a window or the sliding glass door in. The bathroom, they had the entrance to the closet in the bathroom, and I asked not to, I wanted it on the bedroom, they did that. I have the shower in my bathroom. I took the big garden tub out, and I took the shower out, where the shower was, the toilet is now. And where I had the shower, is where the tub put them in. And it's like the big tiles showers, so that I could get my husband in and out of the shower since he's wheelchair-bound.
The build is good. I have some small issues, but it's manufactured homes, so I mean, some of the trimmings, and stuff isn't right. But the guys are coming in and they're fixing it and they're doing everything, like some of the doors aren't right. It's a little bit of everything. But for overall, I love the way it was built. It's sturdy and it's sound. It's economical and I love it. Clayton is the best place to go to get a good quality home and someone that's going to be upfront with them, and be honest with them, and walk them through the whole process and it would be a piece of cake.
Tammy, we sincerely appreciate your choosing Clayton for your family. We're happy to know you were able to customize the home to meet your family's needs. Thank you for taking the time to share your wonderful feedback with us, and congratulations on the new home!

The home buying process at Clayton Homes was fine and their professionalism is good. They worked with me in regards to taking me through all the steps I needed to go through for the purchase of the home. The consultant was very friendly and willing to answer any questions I had. But I have a concern in reference to the timeframe it takes for Clayton to come out for what issue has to be addressed in terms of once I inform the home center of an issue. For instance, with my particular home, there was an issue with the doors. It was the manufacturer's responsibility to address the doors properly and it took six months for them to actually fix the issue.

We had a great experience with Clayton Homes. The home consultant, Malcolm, was very convincing and a really nice person. He arranged everything and had the people all lined up to get the trailer in. All aspects of our home purchase were explained thoroughly. We just accepted the house that we found. It was fairly good colors and it was the kind of decor we had in our old home. But right now, we have a problem in the house. We have a big leak and we haven't been back down there since June. But we've got to get that straightened out. We've talked with Malcolm and Eddie and they were good. Malcolm answered all the questions I asked and if I had a question, he would get back to me in five to ten minutes. If a friend asks, I'd tell them to go down to Alders Beach and look up Malcolm at Clayton Homes.

If you're looking to buy a home, go to Clayton Homes and you'll be put in one. Clayton Homes was family friendly when we got there. I liked the way they interacted with us and the home consultant was awesome. I love him. He took care of mostly everything in the home buying process and it was real smooth. All we did was sign some papers. We tried to customize the home in the beginning but it didn’t work out too well for us because the home we ordered was not the home that we got. We went with another home, but for the most part the experience was good.

I went to Clayton and I told them the price range I was looking at. I also told them what I wanted such as the bedrooms and the location of where it would be going. Their rep walked me through five different models on the lot and I picked the one I wanted. I got the financing, went back up there and brought him the check part and they made it on out here. Anything that I needed doing, I called and let them know. Within 24 hours or so they would call me back and set up an appointment to come out here. I didn't have any waiting time and they've been totally awesome.
The person who made the sale was a champ. If I was to recommend anybody, I’d definitely tell them to get with him. He was very knowledgeable as far as what was on his lot and was informative too. I love my home and I'm very satisfied with it. I like the kitchen area where it opens up into the living room and the master bathroom. I like the layout of it, the way it broke down and how it all correlates and rolls right into one another. I also love that awesome Clawfoot tub in the master bathroom, amazing.
Sandra, what wonderful news! Thank you so much for taking the time to share with us how satisfied you are with both your home and your home buying experience. We hope you'll enjoy relaxing in that claw foot tub for years to come!

I was interested in a certain trailer model and I went with Farmington after trying three Clayton Homes. I was interested with the one in Chino Valley but I just wasn’t ready for the home yet. And then when I was ready to buy the second one they added a lot of things extra to it. I had already did an application through Glendale and then I went to Farmington, and I told them I already had an application and I was approved.
They had a certain sale going on so I asked more questions, their set up fee and their moving fee and all that was included with the purchase that I made. But the other Clayton Homes were going to charge me an additional 10,000 for the move. With the other Clayton Homes at Farmington that was included in the purchase so I like that better. They really worked with me.
The house that I wanted was called The Breeze Two. It was a double wide but after adding everything up the one that I found that was on sale was a three bedroom single wide. Since I was already approved for a certain amount I told the rep I was going to take the one that was of the lot. I went over the payments and I wanted something right away, so instead of waiting for it to be built I just liked that one how it was. I’m happy with what I chose. I didn’t want to overwhelm myself. They included the furniture in it because they were going to do some kind of sale like a 1000-dollar free utility payment but instead of that they exchanged it for some other things that were in there. They got it here as soon as they could. They were professional about that and I liked that place better and I would refer them to my family members.
We're glad to hear that you are happy with the home you bought and that you had a good home buying experience, Trudy! Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. Congratulations on your new home, and furniture!

I rode by and saw that Clayton Homes. We did our own research and they just had exactly what we wanted. It was a new model home that was built before a certain time where Maryland mandated sprinkler systems in your home. The home buying process was great. The saleslady was there when we needed her. But I live right on the East Coast of Maryland and we're having a major wind storm right now. I've got shingles blowing off of it. At this point I'm not real happy about that. But we're going to address that when we get through the storm. I'd still tell others they can't go wrong by using Clayton Homes.

We'd been living in an apartment, paying $450 for a rundown dump and my wife said we gotta go to Clayton Homes. When I first went in, there was one home we looked at and they told us we could have that one for a certain price. We wound up buying the third one and it cost a little bit more than what we wanted. The rep Jennifer told us we could get off the lot for $650 and I wound up paying $715, which we're struggling with. Another thing I did not like was when the home came to us, it had no curtains. From what I was told, the home was supposed to come with them. So, I had to go out and buy curtains to put in. But everything was good besides that. I have no credit, and they worked with me and got me into the home. I had a good experience overall and I would refer somebody to them in a heartbeat.

I had a wonderful experience with Clayton Homes. Tyrone was my home consultant and he was a little sweetheart and a really good man. He’s got a personality and a sense of humor. If people don’t have a sense of humor, they’re fuddy-duddy. And called him a bunch because I had to get other people to get out there and deliver our house. There had been so much waiting. We’re out in the middle of an old cow pasture and it’s where our business is set up at. I didn't know when they were going to bring our home out. Once it's here, they still have to get it up and everything. So I called Tyrone back and he told me he was going to find out and would call me back. He always calls me back.
My salesman was very good too. I called him a bunch and he was always patient with me. Justin was his boss and he was the one that went to the lady that does the court stuff when you sign the papers and all that goes to the lawyer. We surprised them because they never had anybody pay cash. That kind of threw them off but they figured it out. One of them said he had to talk to his boss. I wrote him out a check, the biggest one I’ve ever written. They are really good people at Clayton Homes and they will work with you. You just need to go and talk to them.

Clayton Homes was very helpful even to the point of rearranging their schedule to come out and look at different pieces of property that we were looking at for possibilities for locating our home. My husband and I were very satisfied. Everybody helped us. The manager dropped everything including interviewing people that he wanted to hire. He rearranged the schedule to come out and look at the property and then the office manager went out of her way to make sure that we have what we needed, especially scheduling the service guys who came out and fixed the little things that we found.
Clayton's price was reasonable, the repair service has been timely, and everything has been done well. The service guys really knew how to fix the different things in the house, too. We had a young man come out today and he and his wife are looking for modular homes and I referred him to Clayton Homes because he really liked our house.

My purchasing experience with Clayton Homes has been smooth and extremely easy. Their sales rep was very informative. She always stayed ahead of the game, letting me know what was going on. I never had to call up and see when the trailer was coming, I see when they were coming to do the skirting. I bought my mobile home from Lane Thomas in Hammond and dealing with them was a big mess, but dealing with the Clayton rep was a breeze. Once we got the home, my little sister did all the updates in it. We upgraded the stove and refrigerator, we changed the flooring and some of the bathroom fixtures. I love Clayton and I actually told two friends of mine that if they were going to buy a mobile home, they should see my rep at Clayton. She's the best. And my friends actually went to Clayton to buy mobile homes from her.

I went in and saw the product of Clayton Homes and I liked it. I bought a furnished model and everything is great. When I had some issues they came back and took care of it. We did long distance home buying process because that's our second home and we're from Florida and this was in South Carolina and it was very simple. The salesman was very good. He explained everything well and I just did most everything by FedEx.
And then when I did a walk-through everything has been fine. Communication has been fine. I'm a contractor and I wasn’t happy the way the seam went at the double wide and they've come back and made it right and made me happy, which isn't easy. And I've upgraded some things since I didn’t like the quality of some things like some of the plumbing fixtures. The reason I bought this home was because I didn’t want to be building away from the house. They're probably only as good as the franchise people who own it and these people did fine.
We're glad to hear that you're pleased with how everything turned out, John. We hope you and your family enjoy the second home in South Carolina for many years to come!

Clayton showed us several different homes when we went in there and we finally picked one out. Then I told them exactly what color I wanted inside and out. The salesman told us that we could change the color of the outside which was what they did. They went through everything and followed through on all their promises. They were very helpful, polite and understanding, and they answered all my questions and made sure I understood every little detail when we did the closing because I had to have it explained to me or I wouldn’t sign papers. They were great and I had no problems.
I customized inside and out just like I wanted it. They had a built-in entertainment center that was made of stone in the back living room and I also wanted one in the front living room, and they got that done for me. The carpet color was changed and made sure there were ceiling fans in each living room and family room. I also had made sure the blinds were on all of the windows. Also, I switched over from electric to a heat pump and I couldn’t ask for a better deal because it was really great. I felt so good about the quality of the build and I'm very well-satisfied with the experience.

This is the second home I bought from Clayton Homes in less than three years. I shopped around and looked at stuff in person, and I liked Clayton Homes' salesman. He did all right. However, some of the appliances in them were not good, especially the dishwasher. I planned on buying two more, as a matter of fact, in the next few years but I won't buy another one with a dishwasher. They're junk. I had a guy come out. We were looking at one dishwasher, from the first time we turned it on, it leaked and they still haven't fixed the bowl underneath the dishwasher that got damaged by that water leak. It was extremely disappointing. I won't buy another one with a dishwasher in it.
The salesman was a good guy. I dealt with the actual manager, and then one of the guys he brought in, he tried to help him out. The guy that was there last time wasn't there anymore. So I talked to the manager, and then he got whoever was next in line to get involved in the sale. They were all extremely friendly, helpful and they did their job. However, the process took too long. But the issue was with me trying to schedule my time. I worked a lot of hours so my time getting up early to close was an issue. The first time I did one, I wanted to pay more than the required down payment and they had my paperwork and my money order was wrong. So, I had to go get another money order. That was the one before this. So this time, I knew what was going on and they tell me what it was, so I just I pay them off quick.
It's been a fiasco getting some of the parts that we needed. This home came with one of the front panel's missing on the air conditioner. It took me a month a half to get it. And I still have to fix that bowl. But the service people have been nice. They've done a lot of stuff, they just had to get things finished. We signed the paperwork in July and they still haven't done it. Overall, I like the people, the home, and the process is right but Clayton Homes could've been a little bit punctual about some things. Nonetheless, I'll buy another one.

Had a meeting with the manager and resolved the problems that led up to this review. The manager was very helpful and did a great job in getting this issue resolved. There was a lack of communication on both mine and their part. We have now come to a agreement and have worked out all the problems with this issue. I myself was too quick to make a decision on what was going on without all proper parties involved. The deal is now being done and after a word with the manager I feel confident in the purchase of this home that it will be the correct move in the right direction. Hats off to the manager for sitting down and discussing this with me.

Went in. Looked at home. Made a deal. The man that I made deal with couldn't or wouldn't keep the deal straight then the manager said, "Put money down and I'll hold it for 120 day." But called back in two weeks and said, "We need to get you your money back. Because we can sell to someone else."

Everything was great with Clayton Homes and I was very satisfied with my experience. I went to their place and looked, then I decided on what I wanted. After, we went in their office, sat down, talked about a price, and agreed on the price. About a week later, I brought them my money and three days after, they were doing the groundwork to get everything ready. It took about two weeks from the time I paid them to get everything put in and set up. During that time, if I needed anything, I had their office and cellphone numbers. If they couldn't get my call, they'd call me back within five minutes. They also treated me like family and I didn't feel out of place. It was the easiest thing I'd ever had to buy and I didn't even have to haggle on the price. If you’re in West Tennessee and need to go buy a mobile home, you should go to Clayton in Lexington.

Clayton Homes has been local forever and I know some guys there. I liked Timmy who is the manager and I dealt with him as well as Dave. We had some hiccups because of my financial situation because I'm self-employed and got multiple entities and it made a little more complex than normal than if I just had a paystub. But other than that, the home buying process went good.
I'm a little disappointed about the quality of the home, though. There were some issues that one could tell were pure slackness. One can see where somebody was having a bad day or didn’t take a little extra time in finishing or doing right. The fact that it's not quite taken much time, they should know what they were doing. The installation of the cabinets was crooked and all were getting adjusted. Some of the trim wasn’t properly put on and barely touching on. The master tub motor keeps messing up left and right. They fixed it, come out, break out again. There were a few things that’s normal for a home and it was just cracking. So except for the factory issues I had, dealing with Clayton is great and Timmy has been good about trying to make it all right. I have no complaints for the actual dealership.

We like our home from Clayton. We've had people over in our home and most people are surprised that it doesn't feel like a trailer, like it doesn't feel like a mobile home. They feel like it feels like a home. I worked with Lori at Clayton Homes and she was personable, made herself available as we needed it, and worked really hard to make sure that she could get us in something in our time frame, which was as soon as possible. She didn't pressure us or try to upsell. She heard our needs and was very respectful of what we said our budget was, and she did her best to match us with what we were saying we liked and whatever fit within our budget.
Our communication was mostly on the phone but there were a few emails. We took one of the models off in the lot as we were on a time crunch. We were going to order and do some upgrades through the order. But somehow there were two people going after the same home that we were going after, and our process ended up going faster than what the other one's was. So the other person ended up ordering instead of us.

We really had an outstanding experience with Clayton Homes from the start of the sales all the way through to the installation. And the follow up and the price were good and what they tell you is true. The people at that site where we bought the unit from, the people that set it up, the people that hauled it, the people that did the decking, and the follow up crew were outstanding. I couldn’t believe that they could have however many contractors that they had that coordinated and with that much attention to detail with their customer in mind. It was unreal and one of the pleasantest experience of buying something.
TJ was the sales person we worked with and he lined everything up. He helped and was already over there for the closing. He lined up all the contractors and had them come out here, install the thing, bring it to the site, set the trailer up and level it. He also had the air conditioner guy install the air conditioner and the guy that do the decks and the underpinning timely. The repair person was a wonderful guy, too. He's worth his weight in gold when it comes to satisfying the customer's needs. That particular Clayton Homes branch couldn't get any better and I would recommend them to anybody.

We purchased our Clayton Patriot home in December 2017. We've only been living in it for a little over a month and have had nothing but problems. The seam between the home isn't textured or painted completely, it's also cut crooked and has a gap. Almost every wall in the home is either missing paint or isn't textured well. Before we even moved in we found 4 places in the home that the floors were cracked, one "crack" is almost a foot long and we were told nothing can be done about it, just "Patching". Almost every door in the home is, warped or crowned and do not close or open properly. Yes, most of these are cosmetic issues, but today it rained, and we have a sagging ceiling and a soaking wet carpet. In a BRAND NEW home, I have a POT ON THE FLOOR TO COLLECT DRIPPING WATER. This is even AFTER a Clayton rep. came and looked at the roof and said he found nothing wrong with it.

So, we went to a couple of different mobile home places in Oklahoma City and we liked Roxana, the saleslady at Clayton, the best. She was very friendly and she wasn’t overbearing. She’d let us look, and she took her time with us and didn’t rush us through. And we discussed what we could afford, so then she showed us the models in our price range rather than tried to push off a more expensive one.
We are very happy with our home buying experience with Clayton. They have been very good to us. We had a leak in the living room and it went into the laundry room, and after we called them and sent them pictures, it was within the week that they had a repairman out to fix it. We dealt with Ms. Judy on the home repair, and she was wonderful, too. Our home's quality is decent. I wanted a totally different home from a totally different manufacturer, so when I went through the process, I had already made up my mind that I wasn’t buying from Clayton. I had to have someone go with me but after I stopped and he went with me and we talked about things, I was very glad that he did go with me. Having that experience with someone with me talking about the home was more influential than anything. The other places just say the homes were unlocked and I could go look at them.

The gentleman from Clayton Homes I spoke with, Drew, was really good about explaining everything. From the moment I contacted Clayton Homes until the whole thing was done, I don’t have any complaints at all. I couldn’t have been treated any better had I went anywhere else. I dealt with Daniel and he was very thorough on telling me what I had to do and answered all my questions. If I asked him about a cost of anything he would give me the best answer he could, and I had a general idea of what I was going to need like the electrician, the plumber, and that I would need to have the pad put in. If you need somebody, they will give you several names you can call, but they will not push you to get anyone and you're free to choose whoever you want and to use your own people. I went in and I was never hurried to do anything. I had a very pleasant experience. Daniel has a really joyful personality that he just went above and beyond. He knew no pressure and he did follow through checking on me.
It wasn't my first trailer and I had already been living in one so I knew there had been a lot of changes with permits where I live from putting the new one on. It was really easy back then and you didn't have to have anything. You just drive the trailer and plug it up. When I needed a few changes in the trailer, Clayton Homes took care of it. They got me a washer in the trailer and you don’t really get that now. I also got decks on the front and back, but I didn’t even know I was going to get those, so that was an extra surprise. They told me when I walked through the home that they built for me that I would find things that might not be quite right because in transport things happen and they don’t know some things themselves. Daniel told me to wait just a little while and once we got in and got settled, I could make a list so when they send somebody up he could get out here and do it.
The first couple of weeks that we were in here, I had a leak and something wasn't done on the ceiling like it should have on the outside of our bathroom. So I called Clayton and the man was here the next day to take care of it. The man that came out here was phenomenal too. I had him do a lot of little things and he went above and beyond too. And then something happened in my other bathroom and they came right out here and took care of that as well. They ordered me a new wall board because the previous one was a little wet on the bottom.
They really tried to please me in any way, and I’m grateful Clayton Homes was able to help me get the trailer because I didn’t have the best credit in the world after not working for three years. I told them about what I thought I could afford and they agreed with the income I was going to have come in. They stayed within my payment, and it just worked out well for me. I don’t have any problems recommending Clayton Homes to anybody.

Clayton Homes has provided great service and I'm very well pleased with everything. The process was very easy and simple. The salesman was excellent and Milton, the manager where I bought the house, was great. They took care of everything. They did all the paperwork and all I had to do was sign papers. Also, what little things that were wrong with the home, like the doors needing adjusting, they came and did all of it. They did everything they said they’d do. The home is also energy-efficient. With my electric bill this winter, as cold as it’s been, the highest one was $86 for the whole electric bill. I was very impressed with them and I still am.
Thank you so much for your kind words. We are so glad you shared your home buying experience with us. We were out riding and looking for a home. And with Clayton Homes, by the time we pulled up on the lot, someone was out there to greet us and asked us if they could help us. I’m very satisfied with the home buying process and everybody was great. We got started in December and it was the first of August when we moved in. I got some money from the FDA, which may have been some of the reason why it took so long because it was somewhere around March before they released the money. And then they didn’t have the home that we wanted, so they had to build the home from the ground up. I’m satisfied with the quality of our home. We just had a few problems after we moved in but we got them straightened out and everything seems to be going fine. I’m telling everybody who comes here that if they go with Clayton Homes, they’ll get treated like we were. There were other people at the same time we were there and we all got treated fairly.
We are so glad to hear that you had such a positive home buying journey! Thank you for your patience during the service process. Have a wonderful summer in your new home!

Picking and buying the home went very smoothly. We really liked the home, but we've had trouble since then as far as getting somebody out there to get stuff fixed. We went to other companies but the Clayton rep, Hayden, helped us the most. She was very willing to help us try to get everything that we could get. There were times that she drove down here to Canyon. We live about 25 minutes away and she drove down here to get papers signed.
We have a really nice home and we were able to customize it. It's of good quality and we like it. We've had a great experience until recently. We've lived there for six months now and there are some things that we feel are a little cheap. They wanted a list of things we wanted repaired but our house has now been torn apart for over a month because we have a hard time getting them to come up and get it done.
The carpet doesn’t seem to be high quality. The pressure coming out of the faucets is real slow and we've had the plumber come out because we thought it was just our water pressure in the well and he said it's the faucets in these homes. He said we can ask them to replace it with the same faucet, but that we're going to have the same problem. But if we're to buy a more expensive one, we're going to have great pressure because the pressure under the house is fine. Things break easily. The blinds have broken a couple of times already.
Beds are sent in the middle of the room because they start the repairs but there doesn’t seem to be a set schedule of when they're going to be there to get finished. That’s a little frustrating right now. After those six weeks when they come out and do initial repairs, they were great. The girl that scheduled all that, I could call her and she gets somebody out there in a heartbeat to fix it and it was great. But since then, it's going downhill.

The company I had before comes from a trading post and I didn’t have a good experience with them. I passed by Clayton Homes every day on my way back and forth to work and I stopped by one day, and it's the best thing I've done. The Georgetown branch is really good at what they do. Joe made everything easy and he made us feel special. My home was moved out on a Monday and my new home was moved in on a Wednesday. And I moved in the following week so it was a two-week process. It was very quick and everything was up to par. They explained things very thoroughly. I was in there three or four different times to make sure I understood, so they told me several times to make sure. They made me happy.
I customized the antique old-look cabinets as well as the flooring and the color of the paint. I'm having a few issues but as soon as the issues get cleared up, we'll be fine. We have a fireplace and the inserts are already broke, and I'm waiting for them to come and fix that. I'm also supposed to get another dryer because the dryer I had was scratched. They're going to bring me a new dryer but that hasn’t come yet either. I've already sent two people to Clayton Homes and one of them might be in the process of buying.
We are so glad to hear that your home installation went so smoothly and that you enjoyed your home buying journey. I have reached out to the home center to follow up on your service items. Thank you for your patience during the service process!

My brother told me about Clayton Homes in Fort Worth. I went down there and I looked at what they had. They seemed nice and I really liked what they had, but I went ahead and did some more shopping and looking around. Finally, I decided that Clayton was the best place. Tim was there and he seemed like a very honorable man and a good person to trust. He told me he could back up everything that he was going to do and I believed him.
The guy that worked there was very good and I dealt with the head guy too. It just so happened that he drove by going to work where I moved so he stopped by three times, checked and made sure I was happy. He told me to make sure to get a hold of him and if there would be any problems, he'd take care of everything. I’d recommend Clayton and would tell others that I’m really happy with them. As a matter of fact, I suggested it to my son and told him about Tim. Clayton was really fair and it was a good place. They seemed to be thorough and Tim assured me they used good products in the installation. They stand behind their product so that’s good to me.

The experience with Clayton Homes was wonderful. They’re near Cleveland where we live. We went there when we were looking for a home to buy. The salesperson that we spoke with was very friendly, honest and open. I’ve been in the customer service business for 20 years and what she provided was exceptional. She helped us with our water as well. Being welcomed to a new state, no one can beat the young lady that helped us with everything in our new location here at Tennessee.
We've had our Clayton home since August. I had bought a model home, so not everything was brand new. I had to get a couple of things fixed and repaired. From the time we moved in and got all the screens, to everything being finalized it took a couple of months. It could’ve been less than that, but I had to wait for the screens, the toilet seat and the drywall. Nevertheless, I’m big on customer service. So if someone wants to get in, Clayton Homes would be the place to go. I would recommend my sales person as she went over and above the call of duty.

There's a lot of miscommunications that when I'm making a person to update, I would like things to happen a little bit more on a timely manner. There were communication issues that Clayton didn't either talk to and some, talk together and forgot a game plan before, so I wouldn't have to call all the time. I would have to call numerous times and they would never get a hold of me. If they have something changed or I told them that I wanted to know the progress of my house, or how's it been built, when it got started and I never received a phone call until about two weeks after it was done.
But overall, the home is pretty nice. There were some things like the trim work, there were a lot of splatter and overspray from paint. There were some loose beat up trims and those were all notated when they came out for inspection. Some trims were coming away from the wall. They came out and fixed the cracks but there were a few extra cracks that they didn't cover. And there are some spots that I have marked that didn't get fixed. But the quality of the house, I don't feel like it was the best of quality, spending that much money. There were some things that were messed up on the wall that were not straight. I told them, "Well, I can fix it myself." And so they didn't have to rip a whole wall back out. And they were going to help me out with whatever I needed to try to fix it, so I can make it look at least half-way decent, and I never did hear anything back.
The thing I cannot risk the most is, they told me that when I did an energy efficient home, and so I went all electric. And my electric bills are three times as high as my old house I had in town. You can't afford to run the heater because it was 600 or something dollars this last month. And here's in the winter months. I'm at my old house that was built 1979 that had all windows. The most that it would be was $250 and that was easily in the middle of the summer when the AC didn't shut off. Now, in the summer, it's not that bad, it's easily around $300, when it's really hot, which is expected because it's all electric. But the winter was really a big shock.
Overall, there were a lot of things I was satisfied with my Clayton experience. Jerry from Clayton Homes was a nice guy to deal with. And the contractor that I dealt with helped me out tremendously on a lot of things. But as far as the way, the quality and the responses that I got from Clayton Homes, nobody really knows. It's a long process to try to get them to come out and fix something. Their houses are pretty decent but I wouldn't say that they were the best. Definitely, go with the propanes instead of the electric and make sure that you notify that you want contacted more often. Make sure you're on top of things instead of sitting back and waiting.

Clayton Homes had a home that I like on display. I’ve called them a couple of times and they were here the next day. The salesman would call and check. I spoke on the phone with their rep, Larry, but I bought the home through Brian. They were both good. I just put a little bit of money down on it and they told me when I would have to have another downpayment down. There wasn’t a lot of paperwork, and I also didn’t borrow any money on it.
I love my little house. It is a display model and it is simple. It had everything I wanted such as the walk-in shower and it also had a huge bathtub which I’ll never get in but my grandkids like it. I like everything. Before I moved in, they had electricity hooked up and I was still in the old house which was just within stepping distance. They had to put a new dishwasher in because the papers are in. And when they hit the electricity up, I didn’t realize that the dishwasher was on and so they changed it out. I’d recommend Clayton Homes.

We were first-time home buyers and Clayton Homes really helped us as far as getting everything ready. I had already bought the piece of property and we were thinking about bills. Then we got pointed in the direction of a modular home. We went a couple of times and we really liked THE SUPER 68. When we were going to pick out a house, Stevie was really awesome. She was really the selling point on my house.
She was very knowledgeable about everything from the ground up. Every question that we had, she answered and gave us all the options with everything we could do. I'm the type of person that likes to try to fix things if something goes wrong around the house and she said the houses are built like regular ones and I can go to Lowe's and buy anything I need to fix them. There was supposed to be carpet in all of our bedrooms but she said we can do anything we want and we don't have to do carpet. We went with hardwood floors throughout the whole house because we got a dog and a cat.
Mark, the guy that's over the Clayton in Johnson City, was a big help. He came out and looked at the property with us. I told him where I wanted to put it and although he told me I can do anything I want to, he also gave me some pointers on what would look and probably operate best for where the house is on the property and what we're going to use the property for. I recommend them to everybody.

Also, we had a lot of carpet which we didn't want, so we just had carpet in the bedrooms and we also added a porch. The house I got is an entry level home. Joe sold the house to me and he was amazing. He showed me the house on the lot and was willing to order it that day. We had to wait a couple of weeks since we have to find land before we were able to order it. Brian, the manager over Clayton Homes of Greer, has been awesome, even after buying the home. I liked the quality of the homes and the price of Clayton Homes. Also, my home consultant was great, professional, and she knew her job. She was up-to-date on the homes and their features. She was a top-graded salesperson and I'm glad that we had her. But I got a little confused with too many options in the home buying process and I didn't like that part of the sales. I'm still getting offers from some finance outlets to finance my mobile home or manufactured home.
Now that I'm living in the home, I'm only 80% satisfied with its quality. I was totally satisfied, though, with the layout on the inside of the home that we got. But the dishwasher and the refrigerator left a little to be desired. The refrigerator worked just fine, but it was small. The dishwasher was new, but it never functioned very well, and it didn't dry and rinse very well. I also didn't like some of the trims that Clayton chose, like the little strips that had the seams, and the way that they had installed them. In addition, I'm going to have to re-caulk around the windows and the seams outside because water gets behind them. Nevertheless, I would recommend Clayton Homes to people and I hope they'll get the salesperson that I got.

When I first started looking for a double-wide, my cousin who lives here in Fountain went with me to a town where six or seven of the houses up there were Clayton Homes. So, we did that and we went there first. And then, we spent the next three months looking for places because I needed an education to try to figure this out. We went back to Clayton a second time and the ladies there knew what our stuff was. They called a third time, we went there and it wasn't right. They called a fourth time and we bought it. So, they worked very hard to give what we wanted and hooked us up, and it worked out very nice. My credit score was a 7.43 and I didn't have any money down, so that's another reason why I went with Clayton.
We came back a few times to find the units there laid out the way we wanted them. The layout was critical for us because there are two dealers living in here. We had to have separate areas, so the layout was key. There was one there the first time that we really liked, but it was a little bit expensive. They sold it and a month later, they had it back there. We looked at it again and the rep couldn't get the price down to my budget range. And then, she finally found this one. This wasn't even put together on a lock because she knew I was going to buy it. That's how well she knew me. They just had it closed, but it still had plastic on it. I was very pleased with their professionalism. They've even called me a couple of times since I bought the double-wide just to make sure if things were cool. They treated me real well. I was even able to move in before I paid.
Right now, I'm not using the AC and my electric is right at $4.50 a day. I can get it down to $3 a day too if I'm really quiet and we're not doing a whole lot around here. In the summertime when I worked the AC, it was up into the high $5 per day, which I found quite reasonable. I noticed though that when I used the heat, it was up in the high $6 for some reason or another. That was a little bit concerning, but it is what it is. There was a major tropical storm here last summer, and we had some high winds. With the windows closed and the place closed up, I couldn't even tell the wind was blowing. So, it was that airtight. I'm quite impressed with it all. I'll recommend them to anybody.

Our son and daughter-in-law bought a mobile home from Clayton Homes. We went out there and looked at theirs. And since we were renting an apartment and getting tired of the apartment living, we bought one, too. We did okay with them and there were no surprises. It just took a while to get all of the paperwork together but it was not bad. I was just anxious wanting to get in it, but they were doing the best they could. And the girl who sold the home to us was really nice to us.
We love our new home. The quality is great for us. We've called Clayton a couple of times for minor things, and they've come right out and checked it for us. We had to change the lock on the door and then we had them built the front and the back porch on which we've enjoyed. I would tell my friends that we were glad we went out and talked to Clayton. And I think they would, too.

The people at Clayton Homes went out of their way to help me all they could. I went to one place and they wouldn't think about helping me. We don't make enough money and I was then forced to move because our landlady was selling my house. I've been there 25 years and I'm 74 years old and they thought I was old. I was desperate. I didn't know what else I can do.
I went by Clayton Homes and they talked to me. I'm on a fixed income and it's hard for me to go out and try to do anything because I don't have enough money and they helped me. They never said, "You're too old. You can't get it done. You're not worth it," or anything. They were real nice to me. Anytime I had a problem, they come right out and fixed it. They sold one of the mobile home I was looking at before I made up my mind. And when I got this one it was on sale but it didn't have what I wanted on the other one - like the ice maker and an outdoor closet but they put one here.
I was scared at first because we have hurricane here and being in a mobile home. But other than that it's been great. We stayed here during a couple of thunderstorms and it seemed really sturdy. The home consultant was really helpful and a man that was true. I called up a couple of times and someone came out one time fix it. We did have one storm here and a man next door had a tent set. And it was a straight-line winds I guess that it picked it up through against my mobile home. It damaged my mobile home some and they came out and fixed it and we didn't have any problems.
They're on top of everything. The only thing that I'm dissatisfied with is my shower. I can't use my tub because I can't get in and out of it so I have to use the shower. And it doesn't fit right or something and it leaks every time I take a shower. And they're supposed to be getting a new one so hopefully they will. But that's the only problem I've had with them. Try Clayton Homes. They're really nice and they work with you.
Frances, thank you so much for taking the time to share your home buying experience with us. We are so glad that we were able to help you find somewhere new to live during such a difficult time. We started the buying process with Clayton Homes for my house in January and I didn’t get moved in until July. It was really rainy and it seemed like we kept getting pushed back on the list to get my house out. The house wasn't really drawn together and looked terrible with new holes and everything that’s visible. They could probably hit it a little bit better since they hit it a lot better in the model. It's factory or manufacturer problem.
The floor still isn’t replaced and they came twice to do that but they have yet to fix it properly. They’ve been doing it in the cold whether instead of letting the floor acclimate to the temperature and the surrounding. They just go ahead, lay it down, pull it tight and leave then a month later, it starts buckling, bubbling and becoming wavy. They're not actually fixing it and they're damaging my home on top of that. Whenever they are there, they're messing more things up. On the other hand, the Clayton Homes representatives I dealt with were excellent. I would recommend them because Chris and David, who I mainly worked with, were amazing. They're doing everything they can to get the issues fixed for me.

I was looking for a mobile home to purchase and my son brought me to Clayton Homes. He said it would be a really good place to start and so we started there and it’s where we ended up, too. The buying process went fine, and it was simple and easy. The guy who walked me through the process was new on the job, so it was like a learning process for him as well. He helped me along in the process, however, he told me that I would get some dinner passes for free and I never received them. And I was very disappointed about that.
I asked Clayton Homes to make a copy of all the papers that we did closing off the deal because I moved. When I moved, everything that I did with them was lost, so I have no proof of my purchase. I called Clayton's guy again and asked him, and he said he would mail it out but I’ve never received it. And it has been many months, so they never did what I asked them on this. I already recommended one guy to Clayton Homes and told him that everything went pleasantly with me looking and purchasing a home from them.

We liked their design and price. And Clayton Homes was local as well so we decided to go with them. We talked to John as our consultant and we ordered the home from him. Then Ray was the gentleman who came in and took care of the stuff that had cracked from settling. We also dealt with Heather, the construction manager. All of them were good. They were really good with putting up what we needed and they were very easy to get along with. The process went through very well. It was informative and any questions we had were answered quickly. They got back to me just within a day or two when I had questions.
We found the property back in April last year and there was a home sitting on it. Clayton Homes had to torn it down and then they put up the house and we moved in July 1st. I had a few problems with the settling where things were cracking and some coming loose. But Clayton came out and fixed it relatively quickly. Also, the master bath, the tub, and one of the water faucets leaked, but they came out and got that fixed as well. We have a five year warranty and I'm going to get a hold of them again because our dishwasher is not working correctly. But everything has been great. They've been very helpful and things were fixed.
I have a friend that lost a bid on a house, and I told them about how Clayton was good to work with and that they get things done. She went in, found a property, and got everything set up to order the home. But then the original bid that they thought they lost became available, so they decided to go with the home that they could move in right away.

Tile work in kitchen where meets countertops not grouted or caulked. Trim work on inside is smudged with nail hole filler throughout the complete home. Paint on light fixtures and trim.
This is just a portion of the poor quality work in this home. The home model is the Roosevelt, with several upgraded features. I may be expecting too much but, at $115,000 I expected better quality. I was told that standard drywall finish is a 4, don't go more than a 3 unless you want to see screws and seems. I am not sure about how likely I would be to recommend a Clayton Home until I see the results of the repairs. I met with the service technician at the home today, and got the impression not much would be taken care of.
Updated on 04/07/2018: This is my second post on this home. After writing a negative review I was contacted by Clayton homes. I felt like I was going to get some resolution to my problem, nope just lip service. I had a factory representative show up to the home and did a walk through and confirmed my issues. He told me they would send contractor from Michigan to take care of problems. Not that far to drive from Michigan to Indiana. They must be lost. The local sales agent sent their crew out to make some of the repairs, but just like the factory poor quality work.
I've read other post about Clayton quality, looks like they need new plumbers, roofers, and siding employees. Since the first post I have a second roof leak that did damage all the way to the basement, destroyed the master bath vanity and possibly the flooring. I've included pictures of missing trim work, glue stain in the granite counter top, crooked cabinet, water damage in two places, and gaps in one of all the windows in the house. Is it time to hire a lawyer and start a class action lawsuit? There is strength in numbers. Anyone wanting to contact me may do so at; **.

If any of my family members or anybody is looking for a home, I would strongly recommend Clayton Homes because of the great experience that I had with them. Everything was a speedy process.
We appreciate the kind words, Curtis. Thanks for sharing! We are flattered when our customers are willing to recommend us to their friends and family, it's a compliment we don't take likely. Congratulations on your new home!

We turned our Clayton home into a two-storey house, and the quality and build is nice. I have the double French door and a freezer on the bottom of the refrigerator as part of the package. We also have a 40-foot covered porch on the front. Our sales person Darren was wonderful. He was always available. He came in on his day off because it was more convenient for us to come in at that point to look at different floor plans and pick out everything for the house. He always went above and beyond.
Amanda,
Wow what a story! We love hearing about our customers homes. We would love to see how you have improved your home. Thank you for sharing with us.

My reason for this review one to WARN other Clayton buyers & two for the way we as Clayton homeowner have been treated. Since we purchased our home in 2017 we've had nothing but issues with repairs. Our home is barely yr since our purchase with continued water leaks in kitchen as well as bathrooms. One of our main leaks in our master bedroom shower that had black mold...we barely caught the rack there was a leak. They don't even check behind wall got shower leaks or water heater leaks. Then we continued to have HVAC problems both outside unit & our inside froze up solid ice...then blower problem. Only after fighting several months did they replace blower & thermostat has be replaced. We also found out vents not opened enough to vent. Then we had so many cracks unbelievable... They fix those & now more are appearing.
Our so called fancy cabinets LOL are very very cheap. We have nails coming out & they're peeling but hey we haven't been in home a full yr. Flooring that has cuts in hallway & kitchen where they were cutting to fit & well there are other cuts can see plus carpet has holes spots where pulled away from wall. The worst part of our home is where you walk down hallway of our double wide & wall is bowed in not even wall miss helped. We were told because of lack of A/C & heat the wall bowed in not flat can really see it. Even had electrical problems in half our kitchen. The worst thing now we fighting & they don't want to do is problems with our roof. For will now we've asked it to be fixed but Clayton wants say warranty is expired in Jan 2018... we're supposed to go to our Homeowners insurance.
They said our warranty doesn't expire til March 2018 yr from time moved in. Clayton trying to take easy way out!!!! Our roof has missing shingles, worn shingles, holes in roof, putty all over looking awful, shingles coming off. It's sad partly all this money & getting screwed by salesperson & mgr to get things repaired. Clayton in Florence SC their manager Happy Jack ** doesn't seem to take anything serious & doesn't want fix what we need fixed. Just kick us to curb!!! We wish we would of never bought home with them. They don't care at all about customer. Sooo sad there are others I've talked to having same issues as us. Beware of Clayton Homes ALL!!!
Tracie, we apologize for the experience you've had thus far. A member of our Customer Advocacy Team will be reaching out to you directly for more information.

Carrie showed me a couple of Clayton Homes models and I chose one that was at a discounted rate. I applied and I got approved. Carrie kept me updated daily and was very helpful. At the end, I started meeting with the people and I had to sign a lot of paperwork for them. It was aggravating with Cascade Financial, but every question I had, Carrie had a response within 24 hours so that was good.
I was able to customize the floor but the quality of the house is kind of cheap. The floors are already starting to get soft and wrinkled up. I tried to contact Carrie about this but nobody is contacting me back. The brown paneling that goes around the doors and almost five of those panels have come off. I've had to nail them in myself. The sink has started leaking and I had to have my step-dad fix that. The siding has holes in the sides of it. I wish I would have taken my time and really looked into other things.

My fiancee and I were looking for what we're going to buy. We went in at Clayton Homes and Janna there was really helpful about getting us the information. So, it made it a whole lot easier and we didn't really try anywhere. We filled out paperwork and we waited a week. Then, we were approved. We went in and closed within a couple of days. And a couple of days later, Janna had someone called about bringing it out and fixing it up.
Janna went on vacation right in the middle of our closing and the manager there had to do it all. And it was like Janna and he didn't talk. The stuff she gave us, he took back like the couch and living rooms that we have for and stuff like that to be left in there and paid extra. He said he couldn't find the extra and he took it away. But when Janna come back from vacation, I told her about it. And Janna really worked hard and got it all back for us. But I didn't know that for the first year that we have it, everything's covered under the warranty. And then, we got the extended warranty that was for five. I'm still not sure how that works and I was kind of confused. But she sent me an email on it so I had it safe.
Our hot water in the house had messed up. And I didn't know that we were covered. So, we tried and fixed it ourselves and then, finally, I just called and I was like, "We have an extended warranty. How do we go about using it?" And that's when Janna was like, "Oh, no. You're covered the first year. What's wrong?" And then, they sent out someone and got it fixed.
So far, the home has been really nice. We only we countered a few problems with it that were taken care of. The only negative experience we really had with them was when we called and we had to get a refrigerator replaced because when we bought it, the refrigerator was bad and with mark. It took us almost two months to get a refrigerator and I was very upset about it. But anything else that we've had problems with, they got someone out to fix. I was reaching out most of the time. Also, they were going through a bad part, they just lost their maintenance guy and a couple of more had split on them. So, it really was hard on them. I understand that.
Now that they have the maintenance guy they have, I would totally recommend them. Because that maintenance guy is a bomb. He knows his stuff. We kept having a leak in the back door and they kept sending people out to fix it. The contractor they were sending out always really didn't know what he was doing. He came out like five times and he couldn't fix it. They got that maintenance guy during that time and he came out one time and fixed it. I was like, "Oh! I love you. You're the best." He was really good and he took care of it.
Thank you for taking the time to share what your home buying experience was like, Tina. It sounds like despite a few bumps in the road, everything worked out for the best. We're also glad to hear you like the new service tech as well, they are crucial members of our team! Congratulations on your new home!

When I started looking for a home, there was a company that had one house that I really liked, but Clayton Homes was a little bit more reasonable and they had options for me to look at. However, I would’ve liked to have had a detailed itemized list of the costs involved. And I feel that it was somewhat hidden from us. And then I could also make a better judgment as to what I wanted or didn’t want in a home. I would’ve gone with a different home. Also, when we went on the lot, we saw the price of the home. But, then when we got to the time that we were buying the home, we were given a different price and then we were told it was because it was a newer year and the one we were looking at is older. I did not feel that it was forthcoming. It really bothered me that we were paying more than our expectations. So, it changed a lot in what we wanted in a home.
We loved the person that we worked with, Bonnie. She was wonderful and very personable and we loved doing business with her. The only thing was there were so many things that were wrong and we were waiting for people to get back to us, and to fix some of those things. They had a problem with one of their people quit without notice and it put them very far behind. My husband and I tend to be very laid back, so we understood that. But we would have liked them to have picked up the phone and called us. They didn’t let us know about the status.
My husband said some of the issues with the home were not a big deal. They have addressed the issues when we brought them up, but then they didn’t come back and check to see if all of the issues have been taken care of. They took care of one or two issues, and then six weeks later, we were calling them asking about the other things. They were Johnny-on-the-spot for the most part, but they should have taken ownership instead of us taking ownership.
We bought a double wide since we had refurbished and built houses and we didn’t want all of the crap that comes along with building houses. And, it was just as much of a headache. They put the house on the wrong lot about a quarter mile from where we actually live. And then to complicate that, because it was a different lot and it was a more hilly location, they didn’t have the equipment to move it, so they had it pulled via chain from my excavator’s bulldozer which made the move rougher. They created more damage to the house than you would normally find in moving a mobile home. We know that when moving these things, they twist and turn, but if you have the right equipment it helps minimize that and that was not there.
So, it has created several problems one of which we’re still concerned with. We decided to go with the more expensive siding and it buckled all over the place and they claimed it was from the heat of the sun. And my husband and I are like, “Every house has one side that faces the sun.” So, they came out and replaced the siding, however, we brought up to them that when you site down the wall it is still wavey, so that tells us it’s not the siding alone of the house. And I’m not confident with the build of the home.
Also, the siding was stapled where it is not supposed to be. They are three inches away from the corner of the wall. They’re using staples on a two-inch lot like a map. They should put it on a headed nail and then leave the nail head proud so the siding can move back and forth with changes in heat and humidity. We paid extra for a premium siding and it warped all over the place. So, they came and replaced one side and then the front side. The problem is you can site one side now and the siting goes all over the place back and forth but it’s the underlayment under the siding that they were nailing the siding to that is not straight.
Also, we decided we did not want carpeting and we got the vinyl out and now we have about 15 nail popping up. They said they will have somebody from the factory come out. Another problem that we’ve been having fixed is the wall boards that they’ve been replacing. When they put the wallboard up, they should staple the edges down and then they cover it so one doesn’t see that staples with trim. However, somebody was obviously being lackadaisical about the staples because in some instances those staples are two or even three inches out from the corner. There’s no way the trim is going to cover it. And it is the same thing on the flooring I’ve got in two bedrooms where there’s no way to fix it. The staples are out on the flooring.
We’ve had a lot of problems. And just because it’s inexpensive doesn’t mean it should be cheap. The house keeps the rain off our heads, and it’s warm in the winter, and we got a good view, and it’s nice but there are some negatives, which were increased because of the problems. And although we appreciate that when we call them, they come and fix it but the downside to that is that we're interrupting our lives to be here for the people who come out to come fix things that really should’ve been done properly the first time. There have been times where I’ve mopped the floor and then they called, they showed up and by the time they were done taking the wallboard down and putting it back up, I got a mess again. They do their best to clean up but they’re not going to clean up like I will.

We used Clayton Homes to trade our mobile home in to get a new one. They were flexible with our payment options and they have nice stuff. They also made the buying end of it painless. After we signed the paperwork, the process was quick. They had the style of the home we wanted on the lot, so it took two weeks tops for it to be completed. We got a nice modular home, and we customized its outside color. Our salesperson was top-notch. She was friendly, answered all our questions, and walked us through some of the paperwork. I would recommend Clayton Homes.

We were looking for a home. We went to the internet and identified all the mobile home dealerships in the area and started visiting them. We looked at Clayton Homes' different models and liked the quality of the home we settled on. We felt that it had better quality than nearly any other we looked at. Clayton Homes had excellent service. If we had any problems, they’ve been fairly quick to respond and correct those problems. Chris, the rep, was very helpful and patient. He stayed in contact with us and answered questions. Even after we bought the house, he contacted us through his own initiative on several occasions just to make sure everything was going well. We bought a lot model, but we asked them to take the carpet out of the main living room as well as the family room areas and put in a laminated flooring, which they did. The whole process took two to four weeks and I'm satisfied that it was done in a timely manner.
We love the energy-efficient insulation package, which had been a real bonus since our last home was not very well insulated. But the trim work is not quite what I wish it was. Although we knew what it was when we bought the home, it could have been better. My wife mentioned that they needed to get a lady in there when they put the cupboards together. They needed to get a woman in there and let her open the doors. A couple of the cabinet doors were oriented backwards. For all practical use, one couldn’t open the dishwasher and put items from the dishwasher into the cupboard above since the door was in the way. Still I would definitely recommend Clayton Homes to a friend.

The application process with Clayton was ok. They had to pull my credit to see if I was able to purchase the home and checked all my income. I worked with April and she did an awesome job. She handled everything. The mobile home was ready when I got it. I picked out what they had available on the lot and there were about 10 pages that I had to sign.
Thank you for the positive review, Lacretia! We're glad to hear everything went smoothly with your home buying process.

When I was first married, I actually lived in a single lot mobile home. We have gone past lots before and looked at the floor plans. So when we pulled in and wanted to look around, the Clayton Homes salesman was very polite and welcoming. It seemed like there wasn't anywhere else where you need to look. At one point, there was a little bit of confusion with getting a land properly for putting a home on the land. I was coming out of an apartment at that time, so it was just some missed dates and confusion as things were going back and forth. The weather wasn't good too, so there were some delays. But the overall process worked out very well and I was very satisfied with it.
They were on top of everything. In fact, they informed me with all the updates that were going on anytime something would change. They got me into contact with the mortgage lender, so I was able to speak with them directly. I was actually talking between Clayton Homes and the mortgage lender. And it was live in communication between us all and it was very good.
The home is of very nice quality. It's pretty much everything that we wanted out of the home. But we have one issue with it that it seems that Clayton Homes, the people in Rock Hill and supposedly the manufacturer is having an issue with as well. I was informed from the ones here in Rock Hill that they have three or four homes that have the same issue. The linoleum floor is actually not well. It has some indentations and it's not tight. They explained to me how they manufacture and put it together. But our kitchen actually has dents in it and it's pushing. It's not together and they're not sure how to fix them. So, I contacted the manufacturer and they are not sure what to do yet. But everything else is very well.
Everything was straightforward and up-and-up. And the salesman is a really wonderful man. He's as honest as he can be. And Barbara, the woman that's in-charge of the Rock Hill place, is honest. She's always busy but she's really nice. I'd tell my friends to check them out. In fact we were also on the internet, but there's so many different floor plans and so many different styles of homes. I have three adult kids and two of them are still at home. But they absolutely love our place when they come to visit to bring our grandchildren. Two of them are in an apartment and they actually are thinking about it.
