How about a Whirlpool washer so things wrong with it about the biggest one and five 2 1/2. I couldn’t even reach the bottom. After a year it started shaking, jumping all over the floor. I was referred to Paradise appliances to fix it by them, but in the contract, they will pay anything to fix it. I had them out six times. I ate the price of my Washer and had to go and buy another one at Lowe’s. I was so upset and so don’t buy this machine. Don’t buy whirlpool unless you wanna watch it all over your floor. The guy told me to strap it. I feel they should’ve offered me a new machine, a discount or give me my money back, but they absolutely did nothing.

Although it has a large tub it can't handle a large load. 3 towels max. It frequently stops before it finishes a wash cycle, constantly doesn't spin and drain requiring you to take the items out and hand wring the water out before putting the clothes in the dryer. Errors a lot and the solution they offer is to call a repairman. At that rate I would be having a repair man out about every month. I have to unplug the machine, unload it and start over. In the beginning I called for service but after spending over $1,000 on a machine that seldom worked properly this seems outrageous. You don't have the option of choosing what you want to do. You must pick one of their preselected options. The worst experience ever.

I am currently fighting with Grand Appliance and TV and Whirlpool for same issue. Broken upon installation. Purchased on 2/18 and first service call that same week. They kept telling me there was nothing wrong. Rocking all over the place and sounds like a hammer banging even when washing some underwear. 3rd service call and they said the shocks were worn out and this was not a new machine but would not put into writing. BBB did nothing. Credit card dispute closed because no response from the business. How can they get away with this?!

We purchased our Whirlpool washer and dryer, and in the first month had their repair man out three times. The washer walks all over the floor! Whirlpool customer service was very condescending and got upset with me. They said the load was unbalanced. When I pointed out that when any washer spins, that causes an unbalanced load. They still blamed me. Horrible customer service! So I'm stuck with a washer that walks across the floor, only being held back by the hot and cold hoses. I will never buy another Whirlpool product. Quality sucks and so does their customer service!

Fair and honest warning: if you see "Auto Sensing" on a washing machine, take a hard pass. I'm on my second brand new machine. I returned the first one the day of purchase. This dumbed down, completely superfluous high tech "feature" is nothing but another unnecessary creation dreamed up by a kid who has apparently either never washed a load of clothes or one who believes people cannot choose the correct amount of water in which to wash their own clothes.
I've had a repairman out 4 times in an attempt to get this junk to work properly. Of course on his last, and what I assume to be deemed by him or his superior, and final visit I was told it was fixed. They'll do anything to not have to admit it's a design failure and issue you a credit. This reject of a machine has had 2 control boards replaced plus 2 other parts, yet it still does nothing but waste water. With the price of water and the fact that I'm not the only person living in a drought stricken area, you'd think that even if Whirlpool obviously doesn't care the least about the customer (of course because they already have your money), that they would give a hoot about the resource and the climate. Ha, I realize I'm being naive. So I'm stuck with a piece of garbage that fills to the brim no matter what the load size happens to be. And I was schooled by the repairman that it will not do small loads. It wasn't designed that way.

I bought a Whirlpool front loading washer, model 7MWFW5622HW2 at the end of December 2023 for my vacation home in Mexico. It started acting up in January to where it would stop when trying to enter the spin cycle. Did that a few times, but somehow always got it working again. I was out town for 3 months. When I returned in June, same thing happened and I could not get it to reset. Still under warranty, a technician replaced the electronic board, same results. Now he thinks it may be the water sensor. Talked to a washer repair technician and he says this model is a complete lemon. Whirlpool won’t exchange it, saying the warranty is only for repair. I have been without a washer now for almost a month. Ready to put a stick of dynamite in it. Will never buy another Whirlpool product. Besides not being very intuitive for usage, it is also extremely noisy. Do not buy this model.

### Negative Review for Whirlpool Appliance Company and Lowe's. **Review:** I am incredibly disappointed and frustrated with both Whirlpool and Lowe's regarding a washing machine that has been nothing but trouble since its original delivery in March 2023. From the start, the machine was defective. We purchased the washer from Lowe's and were advised not to return it to the store but to contact Whirlpool directly. This has proven to be a catastrophic decision. Over the past year, we have made numerous calls to Whirlpool and have had over 12 service technician visits, yet the washing machine remains unusable. Despite the warranty, which is supposedly a repair warranty, the machine has been unfixable. All parts except for the drum have been replaced, and now Whirlpool claims that they need to replace the drum but are unable to provide one.
This situation has had severe repercussions for my family. My father has medical conditions that have been exacerbated by the inability to properly clean linens and clothing. This has resulted in multiple hospitalizations due to wound infections caused by unclean linens. Neither Lowe's nor Whirlpool has taken responsibility for the defective product they sold us. Their customer service is severely lacking, and they have been unhelpful and dismissive throughout this ordeal. The lack of accountability and unwillingness to resolve the issue has been appalling. I would strongly advise against purchasing any Whirlpool products or shopping at Lowe's if you expect reliable customer service and products that work as they should. This experience has been an absolute nightmare and has caused significant stress and health issues for my family.

I bought a Whirlpool 360 Bloomwash Pro 9.5kg washing machine from Vijay Sales Uttam Nagar store last month. I have used it 3-4 times till date however the results have not been satisfactory at all. The clothes do not get cleaned well and the lint of some clothes gets onto another cloth which damages the clothes. A few of my clothes have been damaged for such reasons since I have been washing in this machine. Stains of Liquid detergent remain on jeans sometimes and I must wash it twice, but excess washing again damages the cloth or affects the quality of fabric. Any other type of stain or dust from heavy clothes does not get fully washed.
The heater and power part is dead of the machine. Yesterday while washing clothes we noticed terrible shaking in the machine with extremely loud noise which can be seen in the video. We raised the complaint again and again a technician visited, he also noticed the same issue and attached is his report. Just after 3 months of buying a new machine, the heater has stopped, the machine is shaking so much that it seems it be burst if not powered off from the switch.

They transferred me to 4 different customer service reps then stated that they had trouble locating the motherboard and NEEDED 10 BUSINESS DAYS to locate the motherboard and even then they don't know if they will locate the motherboard or be able to give my money back. Updated on 05/09/2024: As I said in my first review our top loader Whirlpool stopped working after 1 year and 3 weeks. We contacted Whirlpool and they said since we missed our warranty by 3 weeks they would fix it for free parts and the work. So they sent out a great technician from **. I wish I knew his name but my husband worked with him. He looked at the machine and as I was told the sensor wasn't working. He went out and got a new sensor and a few other parts. He installed them in a very short amount of time and gave us some good tips on keeping the machine working. So look up using vinegar and baking soda once a month to keep the lines clean (find out how much baking soda and vinegar, my husband has that info). And I would add that the first wash was great, the second one had a problem maybe because I changed the setting.
If that happens cancel, set exactly where you want it and start it over. I did that and it was fine. It is just more complicated than the old washers used to be. If it stops working again soon and I do everything right, I'll let you know. I've only run two washes, will run another tomorrow. I appreciated the free fix and the technician was great but the new sensor machines need to be treated carefully and cleaned once a month with vinegar and baking soda. I won't spend anymore money on it if it goes wrong even when I do everything I was told to do. So I give it a 4 and a thank you for the free fix and the great technician at **. Hoping it keeps working or I'm looking for an old fashioned Washer without a sensor board (found one too but keeping that secret). We have Whirlpool everything and all of that is doing great. I don't understand why there is so many problems with the washing machines. That's it.
Updated on 4/29/2024: I wrote a previous review about our Whirlpool Washing Machine that stopped working after only a year and 3 weeks. They promised they would come out and fix it for free today because they agreed it was just 3 weeks over the warranty and that is ridiculous. I'll follow this up with more or less stars in a while to let you know how things went and if it is still working.
Original review: We bought a Whirlpool top loading washing machine 1 year and 3 weeks ago and now it already won't spin and drain. The sensor is all messed up. After a year and 3 weeks it isn't working. Bought a Roper dryer and it is still chugging along just fine. The washer cost 600+ dollars. The dryer about half that. We called someone to come out and take a look at it but after reading all these reviews I'm already looking for a good old fashioned washing machine without computer chips. I'm so disgusted with Whirlpool. They used to be a good company and they are made in the good old USA. Might as well be made in some other country. I'll give it one try and then move on and dump any Whirlpool appliances for the rest of my life. I had a couple of 40 year old GE washer and dryer that we bought with our house so they had been used a lot. Whirlpool is now just a joke, a bad one.

Do not ever buy from Whirlpool. Our washing machine has never agitated - at all. We are on our FOURTH service call with Diamond Factory Services to get it "fixed" but all they do is determine there's some other random problem, because they get paid by the number of service calls they make, so obviously, they want you to keep calling, and keep making service calls. The retailers won't return their products because of this racket they have with Diamond Factory Services.
We have ruined countless pieces of clothing, and as a family of four with 2 under 2, we cannot afford to just throw away money on new clothing or another washing machine. They basically function exactly like the MOB - once you buy their product you are locked into their cycle of calling and trying to fix without being able to return or exchange their product, but it never gets fixed, and the only rectification they will offer is to extend your warranty to keep you locked in the nightmare longer.

Very disappointed in Whirlpool for poor quality manufacturing. It’s only my wife and I in the house so it’s not like there was a full house worth of laundry. The irony is that Whirlpool inferior manufacturing is made worse by requiring special tools to fix and repair them. Typically we can repair things but the washer requires special tools. 1. The washer owner's manual provides no information about the various cycle selections. Must go to their site and dig to find that. Done. Information tells little about the actual logic of the cycles. So, I ran a few light things through three different cycle selections and watched through the glass top. On one cycle, during rinse, it actually loaded the tub with water, agitated, drained and rinsed. All as I would have expected. On two other cycle selections, during rinse, it only sprayed water from its faucet while rotating the drum for a minute, drained and repeated several times. The water spray was not sufficient to hit all of the three pieces of clothes. Therefore, the clothes were not fully rinsed. Pathetic!
2. Customer service was worthless with respect to whether that is how it is designed or whether a defect in the unit. On the first of two calls to Whirlpool, the guy told me to call for service and if it was determined that it was not defective, I would have to pay for the service call. He then hung up on me. On the second call, the lady read the same lame cycle info on their site and told me what I already knew. She could not tell me if the lame rinse cycles were by design or a defect, while her baby was crying in the background.
3. My opinion: Whirlpool is not what it used to be back in the day. They have joined the ranks of others with compromised, so called customer service. I would not recommend Whirlpool.

Worked fine until it just stopped turning the drum one day. $600 in diagnostics and repairman's last ditch check was to pull the back off and check the motor and bearings. Found the bearings seriously rusted from a drum leak due to plastic not fully covering the drum. No broken plastic pieces, this is a factory defect that somehow made it through quality assurance. I have been purchasing Whirlpool products (washers, dryers, refrigerators, ovens, microwaves, dishwashers) for 43 years ever since they helped me thru college with a job at a dryer manufacturing plant in Findlay, OH. Almost all products have been good... until this last front load washer... Model WFW5605MW0 purchased in November 2022 from Home Depot. The unit shakes the entire house. Leveling the legs did not help. Vibration pads under each leg did not help, a large vibration pad did not help. Two visits by repair people did not help. The only thing done by repair staff was to shorten the tube into the drain and that did not help. A phone call from repair staff to Whirlpool is not really a phone call to experts at the Whirlpool help line, they seem just to be staff that go through a checklist.
This model is a lemon. Worse, there is no real "objective" measure available from repair people of what unacceptable vibration or shaking is. There is just an observation of "subjective" measure stating some degree of shaking or vibration is acceptable. Again, repair people cannot measure vibration. Why is that? We DO NOT AGREE that the vibration is acceptable. We are waiting for the unit to pull the hoses our of the wall or shake itself apart. Or maybe even damage the house. We had a different front load Whirlpool model (Model WED75HEFW0) for 5 years at our last house and that model did not shake hardly at all, even with a big load. I’ve recently bought 3 new Whirlpool appliances. The new washing machine has been a pain to use ever since I got it. I have always washed loads of towels and washed lightweight blankets. After my first attempt to wash a lightweight blanket in it resulted in me, having to stop the machine after it had actually went out, went into my wall and made a hole upon using the rinse cycle. This machine will not spin and rinse towels even smaller towels. I will have to stop the machine, take out half of a load and let them rinse on their own, spin on their own then take that load out, put the other half of a small load in and rinse. It is the most frustrating machine I have ever seen. I had the repairman to come, he couldn’t do anything about it. He said just use it till it tears completely up. After using it a few months, I wished I had never bought this machine. Each time I use it with towels or blankets or sheets. I have to try repeated times to get it to spin out the water.

We went to Lowe's to purchase new washer and dryer. Ours were quite old, they were in the mobile home we purchased last year. We picked out a nice looking set made by Whirlpool. At home that evening we started reading the reviews. They were so bad we went back to Lowe's the next day to cancel our order. The person we spoke with stated there are thousands of reviews and this set gets a 4.3 rating so most people are happy with it. He talked us out of canceling. The set arrived on Monday and I did my first load on Tuesday. When it went in to the spin cycle it shook the house and made enough noise to wake the dead. The dog started barking, I went running for the laundry room. That night we googled what the problem might be. We got a level out and adjusted the feet to make sure it was perfect. The next load it walked 6 inches 'til it hit the wall.
We put in a service request, they can't come for a week and a half. My husband immediately wanted to return this piece of garbage but there is only a 48 hour return window, so we're stuck with it. Needed close before next Tuesday so I put a very small delicate load in today. When it went in to the spin cycle it sounded like a train was crashing into our house. When I opened the machine to get my clothes I looked way down at the bottom and it looks like the drum is coming apart. We've had this thing less than 2 weeks. I just am at a loss about this. 65 years old and I've never had anything go this badly buying an appliance.

I bought a front load washer by Whirlpool a couple of years ago. From day 1 I have had nothing but problems with the drain cycle. It gets stuck and causes 2 error codes to pop up. Their service had the audacity to charge me within the first two weeks to come make a repair. So I watched the guy repair it, and all he did was unscrew the back and tighten the drain valve and the water leaked out. I kid you not. Every six months I have to unscrew the back plate on the washer and loosen the drain pipe so excess water can drain out that the washer does not know how to drain out itself. Do not waste your money on this machine. If I had the funds to purchase another washer, dryer set, I would. I grew up with Whirlpool and this company is going down the drain hole pretty quick.

I purchased a brand new Whirlpool, washer and dryer set from Lowe’s in Crestview four months ago. My washer broke down the first month and I had to wait two weeks to get someone out and then they didn’t show up and so I had to call whirlpool again and I had to wait another week because whirlpool only has one company around here service for washing machines. It’s S&S Appliance. Now almost 3 weeks ago my dryer broke down and I had to wait two weeks for someone to come out and look at it and it turns out it was some fuse in the dryer and it was fixed.
This is today. I dried one load of laundry and went to go put my sheets in the dryer and again the dryer is not working. So now I have to call whirlpool to have them schedule an appointment yet again with S&S appliance. And I’ll probably have to wait another two weeks. This is the worst set of washer and dryer that I have ever had. The last ones I bought were heavily used and I was able to use them for three years and then I moved and left them and they were still working. They weren’t whirl pool.
I will never purchase anything from whirlpool nor will I ever purchase any appliances from Lowe’s because there’s zero help also. So now I’m sitting here with a nearly brand new set, four months, old washer and dryer that doesn’t even work and I’m gonna have to go to the laundromat. Sure that they won’t replace them so I guess I just sit here and have to keep having someone come out every couple of months to fix a piece of crap washer, and dryer that I have. If I could give you zero stars I would give zero stars.. I plan to go on every single site where you can do a review and place the same exact review.

Shakes so loud you can hear it in the front of the house and my laundry room is in the back of the house at the opposite end. I called Lowe's which is where I purchased it and of course no help whatsoever. I even purchased the extended warranty. Whirlpool will come out and look at it but if they determine it's normal that it shakes, which they will, they will charge $91. How fair is that on a washer that you have had 30 days. It took us approximately 4 weeks for a service call so that they can tell us the control board is bad and needs to be replaced. 10 days later now and we have just heard that they are backordered and trying to be located. Asked to just replace the machine at this point and was told that can't happen because service hasn't been completed and machine has not been determined to be non-repairable. We are now nearly 2 months into our 1 year warranty and have only been able to use the machine 3 times!!!

April 2021, I moved to TX and needed a washer and dryer. Pandemic made it very hard to find any. I finally found a place that wasn't out of stock. I didn't need a washer and dryer that gave me recipes if you know what I mean. I saw Whirlpool and I always thought this was one of the best brands. NOT ANYMORE!!! I've read some of the reviews here and feel I should be happy that the washer and dryer at least works, the dryer works GREAT. Love it! The washing machine is the worst washer I have EVER had!!! I should have known when the delivery/set up guy said to always use the Deep water rinse cycle that something was up. And after my experiences with the following I understand now, I even use the Deep water with EXTRA rinse. Doesn't matter. It does run but the issues: water NEVER covers the clothes AT ALL!!
If I open the lid and close it to get more water in, it drains it. Yes, I understand it goes by weight, but you still need enough water to at least cover the clothes, even just a tiny bit. The clothes come out with some kind of soap residue. I've looked it up and it says you're probably using too much soap. I know I don't, but I reduced the amount anyway. It's still happening, so for the machine that states for the good of the world to reduce water...HA! I now have to wash the items a 2nd time. That's not beneficial to the world. Also, my socks NEVER get clean. I have to wash them in the sink after washing in the machine. And the spin cycle, sounds like it's ready for take off. I don't normally write reviews but after washing clothes this morning.... You better believe it!

I purchased a coin op Whirlpool Washer and Dryer on July 14 2021, upon the recommendation of the service providers... Within a month, the control board died and the service provider ordered a new one, the first one received was defective and they had to order a second one! Super Poor Quality Control and over a month in delays... A month and a half later, the washer broke again, my wonderful service provider came, diagnosed the problem and ordered an interface and coin slide, it worked... for 9 months, then the pump sucked a sock... Another service call and more aggravation.
2 months and 5 days later another problem, the service provider had to replace the tub ring, balance ring, and control... 6 Months later another problem, Interface, Control, and coin slide, at this point I am ready to throw the units in the trash, keeping in mind that just about 2 years ago I spent over $2200 for the units plus now all the service calls... Upon the recommendation of the service provider, I reached out to Whirlpool to see if they would at least "Extend the Manufacturer's Warranty" because these units appear to be "Friday Afternoon Products" ... or lemons!
Having been prepared psychologically and mentally to spend at least an hour on the phone trying to get through to customer service, I embarked on that journey... I got bounced 3 times before I was speaking with the rudest customer service representative in the right department... She was boasting that I am out of warranty and she is sorry that I am having these problems, I explained to her that if she was the one who purchased this product with our granted expectations that they should at least last 20 to 25 years, and they died on her within 2 years, how would she feel?
She kept repeating the script that is front of her, devoid of any human emotions.... No wonder such reps are and should be replaced by machines! The machines may have more empathy than these humans. So in closing, this reflects terribly on Whirlpool at both levels, product quality 0, and customer service they need 5 more notches to reach 0. In Conclusion, DO NOT BUY any Whirlpool product.

Since the matching dryer started to do the same thing as the washer before it stopped working I called whirlpool. They said the only thing they could do was give us a 15% discount on new washer and dryer. WHAT? Only to need to replace those in a few years?
Don’t buy these products. They are throw away items that don’t even have great functionality. We got rid of these pieces of junk and bought two Speed Queen units that include a five year parts and in home service warranty. The reviews we read said these could last 30 years. Goodbye Whirlpool forever now. We are building a brand new home with high end kitchen appliances. Four were ordered in Jenn Air but now we are cancelling our order because this is whirlpool. Whirlpool owns Jenn Air and I don’t trust their products at all any longer. I built my new townhome in March of 2020 and got all Jenn Air “gourmet” appliances. They leave LOTS to be desired and I don’t recommend them including the wall/convection microwave combo, the 6 burner range - the oven only has two racks, dishwasher is ok and French door fridge are ok but all have had something that was not working including the WiFi smart features. That hasn’t worked since day 1 and after many hours on the phone with customer service. I had to fight with Whirlpool to stand by their warranty on all of these products, some resolved and some not. Saying we are angry, frustrated, and disappointed is an understatement, and this has been the worst new appliance purchase of our life. We purchased a new Whirlpool washer and dryer from Home Depot. We had them for five days when the dryer stopped working, and the washer was leaving a soapy residue all over our clothes. We tried different detergents and settings, and the clothes still had a soapy residue. When we contacted Whirlpool and Home Depot, we were told we were past the 48-hour deadline to return the appliances, and Whirlpool customer service said we needed a technician to fix our brand-new broken appliances. We had a technician from Appliance Pros come to look at the washer and the dryer.
He told me the dryer had a broken belt. He showed me and left behind the broken part. He said it was probably broken before it left the factory. He said he could fix it, and he would let Whirlpool know it came with a broken part. He then turned to look at the washing machine; he asked to see my detergent and told me it was good. He asked to see the clothing with the soapy residue. I showed him several articles of clothing he told me he would change some settings and clean the washing machine with Javax. He asked me to do two loads of laundry and let them air-dry, and he would look at them when he returned with the part for the dryer. I told him I wasn’t comfortable having my brand-new broken appliance fixed that doesn’t roll off the tongue.
He returned the next day with the part for the dryer, and he was shown the soap-stained clothing from the washes he asked me to do. He told me the machine was not working and that I needed to call Whirlpool and give them the reference number he texted me. When we contacted Whirlpool customer service about the situation, they said the technician wrote that the dryer was working fine and recommended we change the detergent. Whirlpool informed us there was nothing they could do about our problem. Home Depot has stepped up and has been very good to deal with. They agreed to take back the dryer and told us Whirlpool would take back the washer, and all we had to do was call customer service.
Again, I called Whirlpool customer service, and they said they were not taking the washer back because the technician said there was nothing wrong with the machine and it just needed a different detergent. Someone is lying!!! We are just sick. We are supposed to have a 30-Day Return Policy and a 1-year warranty with Whirlpool. I would like to know where that is because according to Whirlpool we have to live with these appliances. There must be some kind of protection for consumer against these thieves dressed in big business clothing who think they get to change the rules to best suit them. Whirlpool/Maytag you suck!!!!

We purchased Model W11197727A High Efficiency washing machine without agitator from Lowe's in 2021. Immediately, we found that this washing machine never provides enough water to even cover the clothing that are being washed. It doesn't have to be a large load, either, but many times the top surface of laundry is sticking out and gets maybe a little damp. I often have to use the high water level setting. Meanwhile, from the get-go, this washing machine has a terrible problem with becoming unbalanced while spinning if you have anything larger than a small-medium load - especially if it is sheets or towels that clump up to one side. I wonder if this is because there is no agitator to effectively keep things from clumping. I can expect to rebalance the load at least 2-3 times per washing if I am washing sheets or towels, or even a medium-large load of clothing.
It also has made a weird clicking sound when starting the cycle - filling and then starting the wash cycle. I've noticed watching through the top that it barely is moving the clothing yet the clicking is getting louder. We are almost 2 years in - balance problems and water level problems have existed since purchase. Clicking, little motion while washing has been about 6 months now. I would not purchase this item, or possibly another Whirlpool washer, again.

I purchased a new high efficiency whirlpool washing machine model wtw5005kwo in February 2021 to replace a commercial style whirlpool model washing machine I had purchased new in 1996 that had a transmission part wear out/break after a lot of years of great service. I figured it was trouble-free up to that point besides the agitator doggets and hoses I replaced every three years. So I figured another Whirlpool washer would be as good.
I purchased the high efficiency wtw5005kwo model with agitator at a local appliance store for $740 OTD as the current price for the commercial style whirlpool washers was well over $1100 plus tax now. When I purchased the commercial-style washer and dryer in 1996 I paid $800 OTD for both at a local appliance store. I am not happy nor satisfied with this whirlpool high-efficiency washer I purchased in 2021, it sucks ass hard in the work clothes and towels heavy-duty washing realm, even in the deep water setting it does not put enough water into the tub to cover a half load of laundry. I end up washing two pairs of work pants and work shirts at a time, so that is three loads of wash just for my work pants and shirts, the socks, underwear and undershirts are two loads on their own, a load towels have to be washed in half loads at a time.
Instead of washing multiple loads of laundry like I do, my girlfriend used a five-gallon bucket to add several gallons of water to her load of laundry. About a month after the 1 year warranty ended the sensor actuator broke, I paid $30 for a replacement actuator from Amazon (local appliance store price was $60 plus tax), after replacement I calibrated washer and was good to go for approximately two months then the actuator's little arm jumped out of the slot and it quit working, luckily it was a simple repair, pulled it off of washer, disassemble and put arm back into place then reassemble and reinstalled it back onto washer.
As I've stated, I am not satisfied with the current whirlpool washer I bought and would not recommend it to be purchased by anyone. I can't say what other brands are any better as I've not owned any beside whirlpool, but I will not purchase another whirlpool washing machine. This current whirlpool is just a bit less than 2 years old, but when it quits which I have a feeling won't be very long from now, I most likely will purchase a speed queen commercial style washing machine I've looked at and asked questions about at a local appliance store.

Whirlpool 3.9 cu ft top loading WTW4950 - This is the worst-designed washing machine ever! The auto-sensing option for wash and rinse water levels never adds enough water to come close to covering clothes etc. So, I must stand by the washing machine to wait until the end of the fill cycle, then manually add between 2 - 10 more gallons of water. Which of course is ridiculous and a complete waste of time. The only way to get enough water is to select the deep water option, which kind of defeats the purpose of auto-sensing the water level so too much water isn't added.
There is not a fabric softener reservoir or dispenser. So... wait for it... You have to keep checking for the tub to completely fill during the rinse cycle, hit pause, open the lid, add fabric softener, close lid, hit resume. Now, if each cycle was consistently the same length of time and the water fill time was the same, one could in theory set a timer, but they aren't. I happen to be lucky enough to hear the washing machine from the living room, but even with that, I still have to be paying attention to the sounds I hear and walk into the laundry room to verify if it's time to go through the laborious process of adding fabric softener. Clearly nobody thought that one through. Will not purchase a Whirlpool washing machine ever again.

The repair costs have far exceeded the cost of the machine. This has been a major inconvenience over & over. Managers have no authority to make logical decisions. I have been a loyal Whirlpool customer for years. I recently had to replace a 3 year old microwave from them (hint, buy Maytag, warranty is awesome) and the ice maker in my high end 3 year old Kitchenaid refrigerator (same company) has never worked. I will NEVER buy another Whirlpool or Kitchenaid product again. They gave me a 6 month extended warranty for the washer in October ha!

This machine no wash clothes and not clean clothes, they only keep Agitator the clothes inside and not total submerge meaning the clothes is dry as you just put on the machine, the system is on save water then not have enough water to wash.. Keep the 1980 machine if you still have it, the old machine will wash and spill your clothes much better than this modern "Agitator" washer machine.

Our Whirlpool washing machine was purchased in October of 2020. We noticed a loud sound mostly when in the spin cycle and called a technician to come out. The technician shared the transmission broke and was leaking oil all over the machine and showed me pictures of the damage. The machine is only 2 years old. I called Whirlpool and they said it’s not covered since past 1 year warranty. I am blown away that such a major issue can occur in a 2-year-old washing machine and nothing can be done about it.
Our past washing machine we owned lasted over 15 years with no issues. The repairs quoted would be more than the cost of the washing machine new. We paid around $580 for it new from Home Depot and the repairs would be $737. The washing machine model number is WTW4955HW1. What happened to the quality of Whirlpool products and customer service? Very frustrated and feeling at a loss of what to do next. I can’t imagine or afford buying a new washer every 2 years.

The Croma service department doesn’t even acknowledge the issue. They just keep closing the service requests. Horrible!! Same is the case with Whirlpool. Being an international company never expected such Cheap Behaviour. They’re not even responding to any emails I am writing just a month after the purchase date.
The technicians too don’t have a satisfactory level of knowledge to solve the issues customers are facing. Instead of carefully listening to the problem I was facing, the technician started arguing arrogantly with me and my family. I have even (sound) recorded the conversation I had with the technician so that I can use it when I need to go to the Consumer Forum. Let’s see. We purchased our Whirlpool washer in December, 2021. In May, 2022, it stopped working. I could not reach the warranty department by phone, and scheduling a service call online would take another week, despite the washer still being under warranty. I called an independent service person. The capacitor had stopped working so, the service person had to order a new one, as one was not available locally. The total cost of the the repair, which we had to pay out-of-pocket was $245.00. When I set the washer for Deep Water Wash, or when I set it to Auto Sensing, the washer disperses a very scant amount of water, and when it finishes dispersing the scant amount of water, the agitator moves the clothes around and no water is even visible in the clothing.
I finally tried to contact Whirlpool to request a service call. The website was down. I dialed the phone number for Whirlpool and after a very long wait, got to talk to a person who asked if the clothes are wet and clean after a wash cycle, and that the new machines use very little water. She explained that if a service person came out and determined the cause of the scant water was user-error, I would be charged for a service call. I asked how much that would be. She said $300.00. I told her if a service person came out and determined it was my error that the washer is filling with a scant amount of water, and presented me a bill for $300.00, that we would come to blows, and to cancel my service request. I will NEVER purchase another Whirlpool product. The washer we purchased is a lemon, and the service warranty is basically non-existent!!!

It's now Nov 8 and I've been officially dealing with this issue since Sept 26. This washer was installed in a new home. After less than 10 loads, my washer stopped draining and I was left with a load of towel soup for over a week while waiting for a service call. I still have the same defective non functioning washer sitting in my home and have been unable to do laundry at home in all that time. So far I've spoken with 2 customer service representatives. The first was incapable of scheduling a service call. She clearly did not understand how to operate the database used for scheduling. I was finally able to schedule appointment on my own but had to wait a week before the technician was able to come by. It was determined that either the latch mechanism or the mother board or both are defective from the factory.
The second was just plain dismissive and completely unhelpful. I sat on hold for about an hour each time before getting to speak to a person. I've also received two canned emails in response to my poor review of this washer on the Whirlpool website. They basically blame COVID for the delays and state the parts delivery should take 3-4 weeks. I was originally told 14 working days for delivery of the parts. We are already past both deadline with no end in sight. At this point, I'd like the defective washer replaced rather than repaired. And for the record, this was a new washer (less that one month old) installed in a new house that now stinks to high heaven because slimy, scummy water that will not drain out has been there since September 26. I'd really just like for someone at Whirlpool to honestly care about this and take a moment to address this issue.

I purchased a top load Whirlpool Washer and Dryer in April 2021. When it was installed I commented about how noisy it was. I was told it was because it was empty, but it will be much quieter once you put in a load of laundry. That did not make any difference. I called Whirlpool customer service and explained I had just purchased it less than a week ago and it appeared to be very noisy. I was told they could send someone out, but if they determined there was not a problem I would be charged a service call. I said the machine is not even a week old why would I be charged a service call shouldn't this be a warranty issue. Again I was told there would be a service call charge.
I am completely baffled at the customer service response. This is the first and only time I called. I contacted the store where I purchased both the washer and dryer and was told it should not be that loud, this is the first time anyone has complained about the noise level and there should not be charge. Whirlpool has terrible customer service and I will NEVER purchase another Whirlpool product again because of the customer service. I have purchased numerous appliances in my lifetime and have never been treated so poorly. If I could return both the washer and dryer I would not hesitate. I would not recommend Whirlpool to anyone.

So a total of 13500 Rupee more we were asked to pay for a new machine against the faulty machine of theirs which was still under 2 years comprehensive warranty period. This machine, like all other water sensor machines, will not let you wash a few items that are lightweight without filling the whole machine up almost all the way. The reason being is that if the items are light, they will float in the water above the water level and the sensor thinks it needs to put more water in and even with putting something in to "weigh it down" like a wet towel doesn't always work, nor should you have to do this. You will waste more water in the long run if you only have a few items to wash, ie baby clothes, underwear, rags, etc. I am so disappointed that I had no other choice but to get this machine.

I purchased this machine in February 2019. The standard one-year warranty covered the first service call less than one year later. This call was related to the main control board. If this part goes out it will prevent the washer from advancing through the cycles. A technician was able correct this problem by resetting control board. That was sometime the first year. The next call was for the same problem and it cost me $90 to have a technician reset the board again. I then learned how to do it myself through online research. However, I had to do it more regularly and this got old as you can imagine.
I did buy myself about two months of time by purchasing a used part but it soon failed as well. This main control board cost $564 if you get it from the manufacturer. This exceeds the cost of the machine. It was purchased in 2019. (The same machine has gone up to $740 today.) I had no other problems with that appliance however, it appears nowadays with electronics taking over cycles vs. mechanical parts you will not enjoy the same longevity as I did when I got 16 years out of a GE washer before this one. I have replaced this machine with a competitor's product that costs less than the part except for the 5-year warranty from Lowe's.

The cycles available on this model are so limited and not enough appropriate options. The number of cycles available is deceiving when there are "limits" set on some cycles. The machine twists the legs and sleeves of garments so tight they are very difficult to pry apart. I tried large mesh bags but suspect they don't get as clean. Yesterday one bedsheet had 2 large (3 inch diameter) holes torn in the middle from rubbing or twisting! This was not a old or thin sheet. There is usually residue left on the garments that is very difficult to remove as well as time consuming and annoying. I have never in 50 years had that problem unless I left a tissue in a pocket.
Any savings of energy and resources will be lost as I try washing a very few items at a time. The spin feature does reduce drying time but sets wrinkles because of the tight twist along with the spin speed. I am sorry I had to replace my 42 year old washing machine knowing this one is so deficient and has a very short built-in life expectancy.

They replaced my board after only 1 year of owning it and now 2years later it's the same error message (F6E2), the board again. Besides this problem the machine is horrible! Every load has to be done on the "deep water" mode or else your clothes will come out with dry areas. Forget about darks - they come out with lint and soap residue all over them. So for darks you have to use extra rinse cycle but still the clothes come out with lint all over them. Laundry has turned into a nightmare for me. And the clothes aren't clean. If I don't spray and scrub any stains, the clothes come out with the stain still on them. Dirty white socks come out dirty, even with bleach
I don't use warm water on my clothes because it shrinks them and I don't put all of my clothes in the dryer because it shrinks them. So I am constantly using lint rolls, like crazy on all my darks. And even though the machine is very large I was told to never put a lot of laundry in it because nothing will get clean. So now I have to do more loads of wash. Doing laundry has turned into a job, a horrible job that takes hours. So now I have to use deep water, extra rinse and smaller loads so how is this energy efficient - it's NOT, it's the opposite of efficient. I am doing more wash and using more water. I use liquid HE detergent like they said. I clean my washer when it lights up to clean it. I don't know what else to do. I just called whirlpool about all of this and my second board being broke within 2 yrs and they don't stand by their products. I have to just keep getting it fixed through my extended warranty company. Thank goodness I bought an extended warranty.
I would never ever buy anything whirlpool again! Don't buy this washer if it's still available, it is the worst. Even if cabrio isn't available (which I don't see on their site) I still wouldn't buy whirlpool. They should replace my machine with a different one at this point. Not that I want another whirlpool but at least I would have a machine that works. This machine completely stopped working after the error code so I have no machine for 4 days now. I want to hear the same response again? Really? Her only other answer was to email the Whirlpool Executive, which will be my next step. This is a summary only of my experience of the first few days after the purchase.
Problem: The first load I washed was 1 set of blue sheets with 2 pillow cases. The water didn't seem to cover the load but I thought when it started to wash, they would get wet. When I took the sheets out of the washer, there were several dry spots and some kind of residue on several areas, so not washed or cleaned as expected. I tried washing one sheet, same thing. Tech solution: Put in some wet items to the load so the washer thinks the load is heavier and will add more water, or add a bucket of water to the load, Really? Whirlpool response: The washer is working as expected. Really?
Problem: I did a warm water wash, expecting the machine to dispense a mix of hot and cold AT THE SAME TIME making it warm water. The washer starts with cold water then stops and puts in hot water. I don't want cold water or hot water on this load I want warm as recommended by the manufacturer! Tech solution:Don't use warm water wash. Really? Whirlpool response: Works as expected. Really?
Problem: Dryer is way too hot on the delicate cycle, not good for delicates! Tech solution: Use the air dry cycle. Really? Whirlpool response: Dryer is working as expected. Really?
Problems I didn't even discuss: The load is really really wrinkled when it comes out of the washer. Who wants to have to go back to ironing everything they own? The washer tub and dryer are really really small! I should have read more reviews and headed the warnings! Comments: I purchased online, biggest mistake. The store will not take it back. Whirlpool will not take it back. Hindsight is 2020! If I could have given negative stars, I would have.

This company has terrible, deceitful, and pass the buck practices. I purchased a Bravos MCT top loading Maytag washer from Home Depot. Maytag is now owned by or has been acquired by Whirlpool. First I was a little disappointed to learn that because I had previously purchased two Whirlpool made washers and got no more than six years of service out of both them. But from the day this washer was delivered it did not perform as it should. I called and texted with the hours provided for rejection of the washer and was told by a customer service representative that it would be replaced.
The main problem was the spin cycle. With only a few clothes in it, it jumped all around and moved so much that it was sitting in the middle of the washroom. Thinking that occurrence was a one time thing, I stopped it; cancelled the cycle; and reset it. It finished the load. This occurrence was reported and simply fell on deaf ears. I was lied to and told a replacement would be made; it was not. I have sent numerous emails and have made several calls for more than a year now and I still have the same defective washer in my home. Each time I emailed, I received a different message from the customer service person.
This company wants me to pay for a service call or buy an additional warranty for a defective machine they produced and refuse to honor their replacement policy— which they now say is the responsibility of Home Depot. Luckily I have kept every email and document I was provided. I am being forced to file a claim against this company to get their attention and to remedy this situation. The expense of the claim will be greater the cost of purchasing another machine, but it is this kind of behavior, on the part of A corporate giant, that is makes life tough for everyday people like me. Stay away from the Whirlpool name for washers—even a prior good name brand like Maytag.

This washer is poorly designed. Less then one year old and always has problems. I don't feel it cleans the closes. Does not always spin them. The load and go is a joke - had a service call because it would lock up - was told load and go does not work and not to use it - the washer was only a few months old. Now it will not even turn on!!!! - All other appliances work in the outlet - it does not respond. I will not even wash by good clothes in it - I take them to my daughter's Samsung. I am in my sixty's and this is the worse washer I have ever owned, DO NOT PURCHASE.

These reviews re Whirlpool washer proves I can no longer trust Consumer review. This washer is junk. Does not clean, Takes over an hour to not clean your clothes. I have to add water to cover the clothes. They come out as dirty as they went in. Want an honest review? Check out the ones on Amazon.

Good washing machine for 3 year. 4th year onwards your repair cost starts increasing. I purchased machine for 24 k. Now my repairs costs are 25 k. Each time the service guy comes puts me a bill of 7 k and above. The complaints to Mr ** goes to deaf years as he never picks the call. Their visit charges also are more and never give warranty above 30 days. How will you feel when you have paid more money on services ce than the product. I have supporting hills for all.

May 4 I ordered a washer and it was to be delivered on the 21st and on the 20th a salesperson calls me to say my ordered washer is out of stock and she gives me a substitution washer that won't ship to me until june 20th a month away even though I already had been waiting a month, I was very upset and said, "I won't accept it but let me think about it," I thought there must not be anything sooner (BIG MISTAKE). So I called back and accepted but after getting off the phone looked online and found a washer that would be delivered on May 28th and it was just delivered no problem but now no one at WHIRLPOOL can find the subbed order to cancel and give me my refund from the out of stock washer... So I have paid for 2 washers and every time I try to get help I have an hour wait to get a person. I am a 65 yr old woman who has been put thru so much stress and it is not good for my health. All I want to do is cry.

We wanted the ease of use and longevity of a top loader WITHOUT a full touch screen. Whirlpool has such units in a choice of price levels to accommodate most everybody. The agitator free design and automatic water level feature is amazing. Clothes are nice and clean and uses about the same amount of water as flushing a toilet.

Reliability. I have bought Whirlpool used and new and they have been the best washers that last so much longer than other brands. They also have more than enough settings to truly take care of everything in your home that can be washed.

Was an excellent purchase! Recommend highly. Have had this brand for over 40 years - never disappointed. Exceedingly reliable. Excellent features and options. I always check models first on CR and would recommend all do the same. Handled twice daily or more washing for family of 9 all these years!

I have used this washer for many years and I use to repair Maytag for many years. I still think that as far as long lasting Whirlpool has them all beat. It is a very easy washer to understand and I never had any repairs that needed to be done. I just made sure that I kept the basic things done to it. It did not take much to keep it going and this was not a one time thing. I have been a fan of Whirlpool for many many years and still to this day I am using W/P.

Haven't had any issues with it. Works great but does end up off balanced quite easily and halfway across the garage. Washes clothes like a maid. Is kinda small for bedding.

My washing machine is a front loader. Previously I would not have purchased one, but after using it for a year or so I have changed my mind. As long as I do not overload it my clothes come out perfectly clean using cold water, and partially dry so needing less drying time.

I like the washer for the most part. The thing I don't like is that even though I always keep the door open after doing a load of wash, the gasket continues to grow mold requiring me to do a monthly bleach/sanitizing process which is different than doing a bleach load of wash. The gasket also needs to be cleaned frequently. This is in a front loader.

I've trusted Whirlpool washers for 20 yrs. I've only had to buy 2 in my lifetime and neither have let me down. I will always purchase Whirlpool as it is a brand I can trust. Features and reliability are important to my family. Whirlpool has it all!

Special features eg changing HE detergent conc. ratio for auto add feature in Load and Go is impossible to find, extra rinse doesn't work. No extra spin which would be useful for bulky loads. But preset cycles work fine and machine has very low vibration a big plus.
