Welp. They don't make 'em like they used to. Found this out the hard way and a local appliance tech confirmed it. Our Whirlpool Duet stacked washer and dryer was purchased 17 years ago. No problems until January 2025 when the washer stopped working. Bought another Whirlpool front load washer because the first one was great. Well, it broke just in time. Warranty ends 1/3/26. A Whirlpool tech came last week and said it needs a new motherboard. Has to order it and it will take over a week because of the holidays. It didn't even last a year! I'm thinking of trashing it and getting a different brand... The 17-year-old dryer is still working...

IF I could give it a zero I would. Only had my washer less than 2 years and I have at least 3 issues. The agitator has separated from the machine. There is water in the machine somewhere because I hear it swishing around and the machine isn't on. Also when the machine is off it comes on by itself and tries to drain but nothing comes out. I want A REFUND!!!! Then when I did try to do a load it was running water and draining water at the same time!!!! I WANT A REFUND!!!!!

I have a stackable front-load washer (model: WFW5605MW) and dryer from Whirlpool purchased in 2022. About a week ago, the washer stopped working in the middle of a load, giving the error code indicating the drain pump needs to be cleaned/cleared. The washer door is locked and the water from the load will not drain. The manual indicates there should be a panel to access the drain pump on the front panel of the washer near the bottom. However, this model does not have this access panel, and further research shows that this model requires me to remove the top section of the washer in order to eventually reach the drain pump in the bottom section of the washer. I purchased this washer (and dryer) because it's stackable, so the dryer is on top of the washer, preventing me from being able to remove the portion of the washer that would enable us to clear the drain pump.

As a result, I have a load of laundry that has been sitting in gross water for more than a week behind a washer door that will not unlock unless I move a 150-pound dryer first. How are people in my position supposed to deal with this issue? Whirlpool customer service directed me to have a technician come out to diagnose the issue, which would cost a minimum of $130 since the appliance is out of warranty. I've opted to buy a new washer/dryer set instead of spending money to fix a machine that was designed to cost money to maintain and repair. I will never understand why there isn't a service panel for the drain pump on this appliance like there is on every single other washer model on the market.

We received our Whirlpool modelWTW5057LW with removable agitator in July 15, 2025. We have 3 different service people here in 5 months time all under warranty and it is still not properly rinsing our clothes regardless of the different settings, plus when the clothes come from the washer to the dryer they are fairly wet and the dryer forms a condensation under it and the floor is wet and wet lint gets into the vent and starts to plug the vent, the highly trained tech suggest I clean the vent every week SERIOUSLY!!! I've talked to supervisors without any success. This is totally unacceptable service and a piece of garbage for a washing machine. I recommend that you never, never ever purchase a Whirlpool appliance or any other of Whirlpool's appliance eg: Amana, Maytag and so on

Worst washer ever. We had a Whirlpool for 30 years and it died so we replaced it with a new Whirlpool based on the longevity of our previous washer. Our new one worked for about a year and then began shaking during the cycle. Now it shakes so violently that it rams into our laundry room walls and has caused sheetrock damage. It is model number WTW500DW2. I called Whirlpool and was given the option to pay $385 to have a tech come look at it or pay $32 per month for a warranty. We will be replacing this piece of junk with something other than a Whirlpool brand product.

Worst money I’ve ever spent!!! This washer and dryer set has sucked from the day I bought it. First the washer has a sensor that won’t allow the machine to even fill enough to wash your clothes. The top of your laundry will literally be dry. Second, the dry continues to give an air flow error message and shut off. I bought the warranty and have called several times over, had my vents cleaned and still the same error. This dry has done this from the day we bought it. I will never purchase an appliance from this company EVER again. I strong recommend you don’t. The warranty company can’t fix anything and the parts are obsolete shortly after purchasing brand new appliances. Go with a better company. Trust these reviews.

Do not buy a Whirlpool washer unless you are fine with making trips to the laundromat for loads your machine cannot handle. Within two weeks of buying ours from Home Depot we learned it could not wring out or drain certain loads, especially smaller ones with bathroom rugs. Home Depot’s return window is only 48 hours, which means you are stuck if problems show up later. I had three technician appointments. Two people showed up, neither could fix the issue, and nothing changed.

After weeks of emails with Nakicha ** I was told the washer is “working as designed.” In other words, the machine failing to drain some basic loads is considered normal. This has been a frustrating, time consuming experience with both Whirlpool and Home Depot, and the washer still does not do the job it was purchased to do.

WHIRLPOOL front load washer WRW86HEBW0. I hate HATE this washer. Cycles take too long- up to 2 hours. Automatic sensors choose water amount (often only enough to get things damp). They stop machine from functioning if they sense something might be wrong, but they don't help balance loads. I've never had to manually balance loads so frequently.

Cycle choices like NORMAL, DELICATE, WHITES, TOWELS..... All the particulars (amount of water, water temp, wash/rinse time....) are pre-determined by the machine and cannot be altered in any way from start to finish. Touch or brush against the wrong thing on the front panel and you have to start over from the beginning (after it automatically drains & spins). Contrary to what they claim, none of this was intended to be idiot proof, more economical, or more convenient for us.

I don't need the machine to decide how to wash things. I prefer to control the particulars myself and make modifications when it suits me. (Before or during cycles- change the water temp, add more water, back up and lengthen wash/rinse time, or skip forward to the next stage of cycle when I'm in a hurry). A few months after buying, it got extremely loud during spin. I had to take it apart and tightened several loose screws holding the suspension. Filling from quilts, loose change, and foreign objects from pockets collects in the drain filter and clog it up. Owners' manuals used to include basic maintenance of things like filters.

There were convenient access panels to make common/regular maintenance easier. Now they DELIBERATELY position the filter in the least visible most inconvenient and difficult place to reach- in the center under drum- all the way to the front of washer, and facing the front. The entire back panel comes off by removing a few screws. But it requires extensive, detailed disassembly and specialized tools to remove the front. Luckily, I'm small enough to squeeze into the cabinet - under the drum - from the back, and reach around to the far side of the filter case to unscrew and remove the filter chamber. Total DICK move! Could they be any more obvious? No doubt they would deliberately leave screws loose to ensure excessive wear on shocks and "return business" for parts/repairs.

I purchased a brand-new Whirlpool washer and dryer in November 2024. By September 2025, the glass lid on the washer began making noise, and I discovered that the glass was actually separating every time I closed it. Since the washer is still under warranty, I contacted Whirlpool at the beginning of October. It is now the end of November, and the issue is still not resolved. I have spent more than 8 hours on hold and maybe 20 minutes speaking to a real person. Every time I called, I waited over an hour, only to be disconnected multiple times with no call back. When I finally reached someone, I was told different explanations each time, and nothing was scheduled correctly.

Whirlpool’s assigned service company no-showed on the appointment day, then changed the date without notifying me. When the technician finally came, he took pictures and said Whirlpool would handle the repair, but I received no follow-up from Whirlpool or the provider. When I called again, I was told the work order had been closed with no explanation, and a new one had to be created. The second service provider later informed me that Whirlpool refused to pay for the repair, calling it “cosmetic,” even though the glass door is clearly separating and unsafe. After multiple calls requesting a supervisor, I was told I would be called back the next day—something that never happened. The customer service is unacceptable, and the product quality is worse. I will never purchase another Whirlpool appliance again and cannot recommend them to anyone.

There was no water, and no panel lights on at all... I was nowhere near it! I just unplugged it, waited a bit, plugged it back in, and it did that again!... and again!... and again! What if I wasn't home??!! It would probably overheat, start a fire, and burn the the place to the ground!!! DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO!!!

Later did a little research, and it appears to be a WIDESPREAD and COMMON PROBLEM with many washers that Whirlpool built in 2023, 2024, and even 2025. Seems that it's probably a faulty switch of some sort, or faulty Control Panel. Causes the Drain Pump to START on in own, even if it is not being used, and nobody is near it, and it NEVER STOPS until it dies, or you cut the power to the machine.

Customer service did nothing to accommodate us even with a sliding scale on the repair. All they did was try and sell us a service contract. I would give 0 stars if possible. I purchased a WTW5057W0 model in November 2023. I’ve replaced lid latch twice and control board at 19 months. Warranty for 12 months is a joke. It is designed to fail at 13 months. Please read this and do not purchase. You will be in the same situation as I am with no support and more money in parts than a new machine. Planned obsolescence at its best here. Do not buy a Whirlpool or any other machine that shares its parts.

I was also told that this is the problem with that particular machine and you would think they would keep that part on hand knowing that their machines break down like this. If you like your clothes to be ripped apart, shredded and torn, Whirlpool is the brand to choose. Their ingenious design leaves a space between the bottom and the agitator, so it is guaranteed any clothes will get caught in this space. This is not to mention other faulty details. Perhaps the Whirlpool fellows should take a look at other brands to see how a washing machine is actually constructed. In the meantime try to make some washboards.

Please read all parts of my Whirlpool washer saga before deciding to buy a Whirlpool washer. Part 1: I brought a Whirlpool washer model #wtw4816fw3 ser. CD1606744 7/20/2024. It is the biggest piece of junk I have ever owned. Before we left to go on vacation it was acting up. Not cycling through. I figured I would take care of it when we return. Well turns out by the time we came back from vacation the washer was out of warranty by 11 days. When I google the problem I found that lots of people have been having the same problem with their Whirlpool washer.

When you put it on the normal cycle it will start to fill up with water but then it just starts emptying the water without washing the clothes. The pump to empty the water won't shut off. You have to turn off the washer in order to get it to shut off. Even though it will fill up and wash the clothes on the Heavy duty cycle that cycle won't cycle through to the rinse cycle so you have to manually do it buy turning the dial to rinse and spin cycle.

I found out that this is a manufacturing defect in the control board. Whirlpool is replacing free of charge some models with this control board problem even if they were out of warranty but I was told they aren't doing it for the model I have. They are telling me I would have to pay to have it serviced and pay for the new control board if it needs one. Which can cost close to $ 400 to replace. My last washer lasted almost 30 years. This washer is barely a year old. Whirlpool does not stand by their washers. They should be replacing these control boards free of charge no matter what model you have. They were all pieces of junk when they left the factory.

Part 2: after speaking to someone at Whirlpool, whirlpool has offered to send someone out to look at my machine free of charge. Which I greatly appreciate and they arrived within a few days. So maybe they will stand by their machine after all. Part 3: So the saga of my Whirlpool washer that is a year old continues. While I do appreciate Whirlpool sending someone out to look at my washer quickly. She was a polite competent repair women who knew her job. Keep in mind my old washing machine lasted almost 35 years operated on the same gravity fed spring water that this washer is hooked up to. Raise your hand if you get your water from a well or spring and know what the water pressure coming into your house is? Turns out these new washers need at least 35 lbs. of water pressure in order to operate correctly.

Because the rinse cycle is only cold water the 20 lbs of pressure that comes into my house isn't enough pressure to allow the cold water line to the washer to cycle completely through the rinse cycle. So what happens is the 6 minutes or so of time the computer allows for the rinse cycle to fill the tub isn't enough time so instead of rinsing the clothes the washer empties the water out. The only way to overcome this problem would be to add water yourself during the rinse cycle. Which you can't do because the lid is locked. If you pause the cycle by pressing the pause button in order to open the lid you end up not getting enough water in the washer fast enough before it times out and empties the water out. My husband decided the best way around this was to remove the screws that lock the lid so that we could add water to the rinse cycle fast enough. That seem to work and I was able to complete my wash.

Whirlpool needs to fire the engineer who came up with this washer. I live in the Mountains of N.C. most of us in these mountains either have a well or a spring that feeds our homes. The last washer we owned lasted almost 35 years on this system. Why wasn't it stated anywhere on the website I went to when I was researching model # WTW4816FW3 SER.# CD1606744 to buy if you are on spring water or own a well this washer isn't for you? Why can't these companies make a simple washer that will just wash your clothes? I don't need anything with a lot of things on it. I just needed a washer like the one I had that just washed the clothes and would still be doing that if it hadn't stopped ringing out the clothes enough and the tub was showing rust. So now I have to sit in my kitchen when doing the wash so that I can catch the washer when it goes to rinse and add water to it. Needless to say I am very frustrated with this machine.

Part 4: of the Whirlpool washer saga. Now the washer won't even go 2 minutes on the rinse cycle before dumping the water without rinsing the clothes. I had a normal load in and set the washer on auto sense Normal on the warm cycle. The washer washed the clothes on the wash cycle but when it went to the rinse cycle I was ready to add the 2 gallons of water to the rinse water before the 6 minutes 45 seconds were up and it would dump the water without rinsing the clothes but before I could add the water the washer dumped the water less than 2 minutes into the cycle. I was told by the repair person who came out that when she performed the diagnostic test on the motherboard to see if it needed replacing it tested out fine. I am completely baffled at what is actually wrong with this piece of junk machine.

When I went ahead and moved the dial to the rinse and drain cycle I was able to add my two gallons of water and the washer took a little over 20 minutes to fill to were it could finish the cycle by rinsing the clothes. Again keep in mind the last washer I owned lasted almost 35 years. At this point I am stuck with this machine because I am on SS and can't afford to buy another one. But I can guarantee you that the next machine I buy won't be a Whirlpool and I will be sure to tell everyone I know not to buy one either.

Whirlpool has sent a technician out four separate times—each visit ends with another part being ordered, but the problem still isn’t fixed. The most frustrating part? Corporate refuses to declare the units “unrepairable,” arguing that it's the same issue so. This feels like a technicality that leaves customers stranded with broken machines and no resolution. I’ve lost valuable time, money, and peace of mind having to take clothes to the laundry mat and speed more money. These appliances have spent more time waiting for parts than actually working. My Whirlpool appliances in general were all garbage. The washing machine ranks right up there with the worst. Whirlpool used to be a brand you can count on. You can still count on it but the only way you count on it is to be garbage. I have washed a white comforter three times. In between those times I did a machine cleaning. Using hot water and vinegar to run a cycle. This was a more lightweight comforter. It was not crammed in there nor was the washer over full. I used the extra deep rent cycles as well as the heavy setting. Three times!

It bothers me how if you go to shop for Whirlpool appliances they have a fairly high star rating. I don't know how that is possible. I had an entire house full of Whirlpool appliances and every one of them was not just disappointing, they were bad. One time I called whirlpool and they told me I should have bought their upper level appliances. So in other words if you buy their mid-level you're throwing your money away? And what about people who can't afford to buy even the mid level? So people with less money deserve crap appliances? I find this response to be not just laughable but ridiculous. What!!! This is what Whirlpool told them to do!!! I am so MAD!! WHIRLPOOL, please stand behind your product and let me exchange this "lemon" of a washing for one that works like it should. If this situation does not get resolved you can bet I will tell my family, friends and any one that wants to listen NOT to purchase Whirlpool products! Signed, Disappointed Customer....

Original Review: I purchased a Whirlpool washer/dryer set from Home Depot and it was delivered on 8/1/24. Since the first time I used it, it put spots on my clothes, sheets, & towels. I had to use a spot remover and wash them at least 2 more times. After about a month it started shredding my clothes, towels and sheets. I have had a Whirlpool tech out to my house 4 times since 8/1/24 and all of them tell me different things "I am "using too much detergent "," you should not use any softener", and now using the machines incorrectly..."User error". I have used a washing machine for more than 50 years!

Today, he told me that I need to put my sheets on a "delicate" cycle and put it on low spin. I have never heard such a thing. I have always used a "Bulky" cycle for towels, sheets and comforters because they are so big and the machine gets out of balance. I have never had to change anything after I push the button for "normal", "Bulky", "Delicate" etc. The machines are programmed to do what they do but this repair guy said no that is not the way it is. I did what he asked, I put my king size sheet set in the washer and washed them on delicate. Needless to say, they were not clean and they came out of the wash wetter and took 1 1/2 hours to dry instead of 20 minutes.

I paid approx. $2,000 for this set and in the 9 months I have had it, it has shredded my clothes, towels and sheets and put spots on them randomly. I did call Whirlpool customer service line and talked with them and they said they could not do anything for me. When I asked to talk with someone higher up that could help me, she said there was no one higher up and all the Whirlpool employees are the same "rank". So, I will not call them again because they are no help at all! I have always purchased Whirlpool appliances from my kitchen to the laundry. I am so upset with the way this washer/dryer situation has been handled, I may never purchase another Whirlpool appliance again. Very Disappointing Whirlpool.

I have had to remove sopping wet clothes, sheets, blankets, etc. from the machine and try to wring them out by hand, more times than I can count. Since I purchased the 5-year warranty, I called for service right after purchasing and the tech said he couldn't find anything wrong. So, now it's out of warranty and a service call would be $150. I did not do my due diligence before buying my washer. I liked the big drum, and the ability to remove the agitator because I have a king size bed and wash comforters. I am old school. I like the water to run, put in the soap and add my clothes as it fills. You can’t do that with this washer. The washer does not completely fill when washing or rinsing. The agitator barely draws the clothes on top down so I wash on deep water setting. Every setting on the washer, except for one which I wash all my clothes in, takes over an HOUR or more to wash. If you have three loads to wash, you will be washing for three or four hours. It senses the load so if it’s off balance, the washer will continue to spin and the banging is very loud. You can’t open the lid to adjust the clothing.

You have to continue to let it run banging loudly. I did try to fill the washer with soap and put the clothes in because it doesn’t come with a manual. When I did all the water ran out and emptied uwice until I had to look up online how to actually use the washer. Because it doesn’t actually fill up to rinse, spin and empty. It seems as though the wash cycles are constantly running water to wash and rinse because that’s the way they rinse is just by spinning and squirting water on your clothes. I hate this washer. I’ve only had it a few months. I’m stuck with it. My advice if you're old school do your due diligence to see how the cycles run. I did buy the matching dryer and I so far have no complaints against the dryer.

This machine certainly needs to use more water in the tub. If you have dirty sweat soaked clothes you almost have to run two cycles to get them clean. Granted you can run bulky items heavy duty cycle with an extra rinse and they do seem to come clean but do you have an extra hour and 45 minutes of your day to wait for your laundry to get done. If Speed Queen can put water in the tub to get your clothes washed, why can't the rest of these manufacturers do the same? The older front load machines would get at least half full of water. But this machine won't it never shows any water level on the window at all. Give the consumer the opportunity to choose the appropriate amount for their needs.

There should be a recall on these washers. I have to unplug it, like someone else said, at the end of the cycle. Absolutely no response from Whirlpool customer service. None. They can't even respond to a customer. Found out the problem was the pressure transducer on the control board. It thinks the tub is not empty. If it totally goes, it will let the washer overflow.

On top of that, there are not any control boards anywhere. All backordered for months. Whirlpool has a new part number for the board that runs about $180 to $219, and they want the defective board back or else you pay an extra $60. They know there's a problem or they wouldn't have to come up with another board. I wouldn't be surprised if they just rework the returned boards and sell them back to us. Disgusting company.

The dryer was maintained properly, yet this failure caused significant financial and emotional stress. Despite reaching out to Whirlpool for assistance, they denied any goodwill or responsibility, citing that it was six months past the 12-year law.

While I understand warranties have limits, I expected a brand like Whirlpool to stand behind its products, especially when a defect results in such extensive damage. If you’re considering this product, be aware that a simple failure could lead to major home damage, and Whirlpool will not assist you. The repairman in December 2024 from Dal's Appliances in Bishopville, SC told me that both appliances were in bad shape- the timer on the dryer isn't working and the washing machine will not even rotate. He calibrated it and said it went right back to the same malfunction as before he did it. They have been used by a one person household for 8 years. I had to call a repair person the first month I bought it in 2016 because the dryer malfunctioned.

Upon calling and emailing Whirlpool customer service, I did not receive a reply until a month later; this household could not go that long without a machine therefore another one was bought. The estimate from a local appliance repair person's business in Bishopville, SC, revealed that it was not cost effective to fix these; new ones could be bought for nearly the same cost. The front loader washers sold 10 yrs ago or so are made so cheap. After using ours for maybe 4 yrs or so, it started to make a racket. After taking covers off the washer, I couldn't believe anyone would make a washer with plastic outer tubs and put a chunk of concrete on top of it as well as 2 other chunks bolted to the outer tub in the front of it. The one on top in the rear of the tub did not fit tight so eventually it started to shift back and forth until it actually broke 2 large chunks out of the tub. WHY would any company build something like this???

If I were to buy another front loader I would get the model number and look up a parts diagram, or talk to someone that actually repairs the brand of washers and ask how dependable they are built. I would not recommend these washers. Maybe they are smarter now and not building them like this. I don't know. But I'm not convinced about these front loaders being better. The only thing I have seen to their advantage is they spin faster so the dryer doesn't take near as long to dry the clothes.

Once I reached a person I was told rust after 30 days is normal and only cosmetic. Her name was Lilly. Even the extended warranty doesn’t cover this issue because it doesn’t cause a failure. This is ridiculous. A made in America product (Michigan) and after 30 days. Peat rust on a stainless steel tub. There is more rust on this tub than my 35 year old whirlpool at my father’s house. Finally, we got it and they unpacked it from a damaged box but the machine looked fine so we accepted it. Ran the first load and it leaked from the bottom. I immediately called and they said they would repair it, I pushed and they said they would deliver a new one. Now they have re-sceduled the delivery twice. Today I got a notice that there are no available delivery dates at this time. What does that even mean, we will never get the a replacement machine? Unbelievable. Never again. It gets stuck on a cycle and will not advance forward. The lid locks and the only way to open it is to put it into diagnostic mode. Once I got it opened the clothes I found that it hadn’t washed the clothes. There were lumps of soap on the clothes and they were completely saturated. Home Depot refused to let us return the washer because it had been over 48 hours since we’d picked it up. Whirlpool has been impossible to work with. I’ve spent hours in the phone to get a technician sent out.

Our appt. Was scheduled over a month out. The day of the appointment the technician called out so it was pushed out another week. Spent more time in the phone with Whirlpool to find out that there is only 1 repair company in our area that they are affiliated with and that repair company only has 1 repair technician!! Do not buy any Whirlpool products! They are awful to work with. Also don’t shop at Home Depot. They have a terrible return policy!

I purchased the Whirlpool top loading washing mashing and matching dryer a couple years ago to replace my old Whirlpool set that I had had for over 20 years, with nothing but a positive experience. The rust spots that were staining my clothes, however, warranted a replacement. I was going between Whirlpool and SpeedQueen, and because I didn't have availability of the latter, I bought Whirlpool (W11436602D & W11175247B) for the availability convenience factor only. If you are looking for something to actually wash and clean your clothes, look elsewhere than these models.

I follow manual directions and the center, removable rotator doesn't even shift the clothes. Often times I remove clothes in the same order they were put in. They just get wet. Spots do not come out and if you accidentally place something in the tub that had been folded, it's exactly how it comes out when the cycle is done. That is telling of the lack of action in the barrel. I had to have a stool made to actually reach the bottom of the barrel (it's that deep). I call it my "shimmy machine", not a washing machine, because it just doesn't wash clothes...no matter if I put a small, medium or large load in. It's a waste of money.

These models are a poor design for cleaning and drying efficacy. In addition, if you put more than one blanket in at a time, it will cause an imbalance and will stop mid-cycle due to the weight. And you have to pull them out sopping wet to even get it functioning again. It's the most frustrating washer & dryer set I have ever owned. Regarding the dryer: I have to keep the mode on "timed dry" and not use the other fancy features, otherwise the clothes stay damp (even when it's "smart technology" indicates the clothes are dry). Please do not waste your money like I did.

2.5 stars. I bought this because it had good reviews, but after having owned this top loading washer for several years I'm always so FRUSTRATED!! The only cycle that actually covers the loads with water is the bulky cycle and even then I have to put it on deep water selection. (If the clothes don't get wet, how are they getting clean???) Also, almost half the time the load is unbalanced, not because I don't make an effort to put them in evenly and not pack them in. So after FOUR HOURS I come back and the load still isn't done and I have to just set it to the rinse and spin cycle. When on the normal load cycle it still takes 2.5 hours to do a load even when everything goes well. That's ridiculous! And at the end of every load, even though I can hear it spin and seems to be balanced the clothes come out far more wet than they should. I can't wait to replace this!

In 2021, we purchased a brand new Whirlpool top loader washer Model #W11445523A from Lowe’s. This, I believe, is their largest capacity washer and it does not have a center agitator. Within months, we were finding it would unbalance with regular loads. We weren’t doing anything crazy despite it being extra large capacity because it’s just two of us living here. Normal laundry. I also noticed about a year in that it just kind of lightly sloshes clothes around, and unless I put it on the extra rinse setting, often some clothes will come out not even damp in places and worse, smelling dirty. And now, three years later it becomes unbalanced with almost every load, clunking across the floor and the other day refusing to unlock when I tried open it to re-distribute the load.

I feel somewhat validated hearing all the other complaints for various models. However, I just learned that here in Maine we have an implied warranty law that is good for four years from the purchase date. Either the retailer or manufacturer has to provide repair services unless you’ve done something egregious with your machine. I encourage all US buyers to check their state laws around this. After the last three days of worse and worse clunking and unbalancing you can bet I’m marching myself down to Lowe’s. Honestly, I would live to just take this piece of garbage out back and put it out of its misery. I hear LG is good.

I am beyond disappointed with my new Whirlpool washer, top loading. I will edit this with the model, once I find my receipt. We bought the extra large capacity, which was a waste. If we load it with more than a medium size load, the clothes do not clean. We keep it set on the bulky item, high water level, every time, since the other settings leave some clothes coming out halfway dry, having never had water touch them. Even though we are careful to keep the load way below the height of the agitator, even this setting does not do a good job. Please see the pictures I’ve loaded. These are taken from different loads I’ve washed. What you see are not stains!! It is actually the original dirt (and, dog poop) I had to clean up. THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR THIS.

Oftentimes, some of a load looks like it may have cleaned, while other items in the same load look like this. How on earth can this happen with the type of technology we have these days? We replaced a front load washer that was much smaller capacity with this one, and, even though we bought a huge capacity washer, we have to wash smaller loads now. When we called Whirlpool, they sent out a tech, who tried replacing a couple things, just in case there was something faulty. It did not help. It works exactly the same. Not sure what to do now, other than take it as a loss and buy something different. It’s only a couple of months old, but this is how poorly it worked since day 1. I hate to leave such a bad review, but, this just isn’t fair. No reason for this washer to perform so poorly.

Fair and honest warning: if you see "Auto Sensing" on a washing machine, take a hard pass. I'm on my second brand new machine. I returned the first one the day of purchase. This dumbed down, completely superfluous high tech "feature" is nothing but another unnecessary creation dreamed up by a kid who has apparently either never washed a load of clothes or one who believes people cannot choose the correct amount of water in which to wash their own clothes.

I've had a repairman out 4 times in an attempt to get this junk to work properly. Of course on his last, and what I assume to be deemed by him or his superior, and final visit I was told it was fixed. They'll do anything to not have to admit it's a design failure and issue you a credit. This reject of a machine has had 2 control boards replaced plus 2 other parts, yet it still does nothing but waste water. With the price of water and the fact that I'm not the only person living in a drought stricken area, you'd think that even if Whirlpool obviously doesn't care the least about the customer (of course because they already have your money), that they would give a hoot about the resource and the climate. Ha, I realize I'm being naive. So I'm stuck with a piece of garbage that fills to the brim no matter what the load size happens to be. And I was schooled by the repairman that it will not do small loads. It wasn't designed that way.

I bought a Whirlpool front loading washer, model 7MWFW5622HW2 at the end of December 2023 for my vacation home in Mexico. It started acting up in January to where it would stop when trying to enter the spin cycle. Did that a few times, but somehow always got it working again. I was out town for 3 months. When I returned in June, same thing happened and I could not get it to reset. Still under warranty, a technician replaced the electronic board, same results. Now he thinks it may be the water sensor. Talked to a washer repair technician and he says this model is a complete lemon. Whirlpool won’t exchange it, saying the warranty is only for repair. I have been without a washer now for almost a month. Ready to put a stick of dynamite in it. Will never buy another Whirlpool product. Besides not being very intuitive for usage, it is also extremely noisy. Do not buy this model.

    ### Negative Review for Whirlpool Appliance Company and Lowe's. **Review:** I am incredibly disappointed and frustrated with both Whirlpool and Lowe's regarding a washing machine that has been nothing but trouble since its original delivery in March 2023. From the start, the machine was defective. We purchased the washer from Lowe's and were advised not to return it to the store but to contact Whirlpool directly. This has proven to be a catastrophic decision. Over the past year, we have made numerous calls to Whirlpool and have had over 12 service technician visits, yet the washing machine remains unusable. Despite the warranty, which is supposedly a repair warranty, the machine has been unfixable. All parts except for the drum have been replaced, and now Whirlpool claims that they need to replace the drum but are unable to provide one.

This situation has had severe repercussions for my family. My father has medical conditions that have been exacerbated by the inability to properly clean linens and clothing. This has resulted in multiple hospitalizations due to wound infections caused by unclean linens. Neither Lowe's nor Whirlpool has taken responsibility for the defective product they sold us. Their customer service is severely lacking, and they have been unhelpful and dismissive throughout this ordeal. The lack of accountability and unwillingness to resolve the issue has been appalling. I would strongly advise against purchasing any Whirlpool products or shopping at Lowe's if you expect reliable customer service and products that work as they should. This experience has been an absolute nightmare and has caused significant stress and health issues for my family.

I bought a Whirlpool 360 Bloomwash Pro 9.5kg washing machine from Vijay Sales Uttam Nagar store last month. I have used it 3-4 times till date however the results have not been satisfactory at all. The clothes do not get cleaned well and the lint of some clothes gets onto another cloth which damages the clothes. A few of my clothes have been damaged for such reasons since I have been washing in this machine. Stains of Liquid detergent remain on jeans sometimes and I must wash it twice, but excess washing again damages the cloth or affects the quality of fabric. Any other type of stain or dust from heavy clothes does not get fully washed.

The heater and power part is dead of the machine. Yesterday while washing clothes we noticed terrible shaking in the machine with extremely loud noise which can be seen in the video. We raised the complaint again and again a technician visited, he also noticed the same issue and attached is his report. Just after 3 months of buying a new machine, the heater has stopped, the machine is shaking so much that it seems it be burst if not powered off from the switch.

Updated on 05/09/2024: As I said in my first review our top loader Whirlpool stopped working after 1 year and 3 weeks. We contacted Whirlpool and they said since we missed our warranty by 3 weeks they would fix it for free parts and the work. So they sent out a great technician from **. I wish I knew his name but my husband worked with him. He looked at the machine and as I was told the sensor wasn't working. He went out and got a new sensor and a few other parts. He installed them in a very short amount of time and gave us some good tips on keeping the machine working. So look up using vinegar and baking soda once a month to keep the lines clean (find out how much baking soda and vinegar, my husband has that info). And I would add that the first wash was great, the second one had a problem maybe because I changed the setting.

If that happens cancel, set exactly where you want it and start it over. I did that and it was fine. It is just more complicated than the old washers used to be. If it stops working again soon and I do everything right, I'll let you know. I've only run two washes, will run another tomorrow. I appreciated the free fix and the technician was great but the new sensor machines need to be treated carefully and cleaned once a month with vinegar and baking soda. I won't spend anymore money on it if it goes wrong even when I do everything I was told to do. So I give it a 4 and a thank you for the free fix and the great technician at **. Hoping it keeps working or I'm looking for an old fashioned Washer without a sensor board (found one too but keeping that secret). We have Whirlpool everything and all of that is doing great. I don't understand why there is so many problems with the washing machines. That's it.

Updated on 4/29/2024: I wrote a previous review about our Whirlpool Washing Machine that stopped working after only a year and 3 weeks. They promised they would come out and fix it for free today because they agreed it was just 3 weeks over the warranty and that is ridiculous. I'll follow this up with more or less stars in a while to let you know how things went and if it is still working.

Original review: We bought a Whirlpool top loading washing machine 1 year and 3 weeks ago and now it already won't spin and drain. The sensor is all messed up. After a year and 3 weeks it isn't working. Bought a Roper dryer and it is still chugging along just fine. The washer cost 600+ dollars. The dryer about half that. We called someone to come out and take a look at it but after reading all these reviews I'm already looking for a good old fashioned washing machine without computer chips. I'm so disgusted with Whirlpool. They used to be a good company and they are made in the good old USA. Might as well be made in some other country. I'll give it one try and then move on and dump any Whirlpool appliances for the rest of my life. I had a couple of 40 year old GE washer and dryer that we bought with our house so they had been used a lot. Whirlpool is now just a joke, a bad one.

We are on our FOURTH service call with Diamond Factory Services to get it "fixed" but all they do is determine there's some other random problem, because they get paid by the number of service calls they make, so obviously, they want you to keep calling, and keep making service calls. The retailers won't return their products because of this racket they have with Diamond Factory Services.

We have ruined countless pieces of clothing, and as a family of four with 2 under 2, we cannot afford to just throw away money on new clothing or another washing machine. They basically function exactly like the MOB - once you buy their product you are locked into their cycle of calling and trying to fix without being able to return or exchange their product, but it never gets fixed, and the only rectification they will offer is to extend your warranty to keep you locked in the nightmare longer.
