When purchasing a new home, the almost new Whirlpool double-door ice-dispensing stainless steel refrigerator came with the kitchen. This beautiful-looking fridge worked well for close to three years, but gave up the ghost shortly after its warranty expired; designed obsolescence perhaps? Problem was, it would have cost almost as much to repair as it would have to purchase a new fridge with a warranty. So, that's what I did, via a local big-box store. I bought a single door floor model, with the Whirlpool ending up as scrap, the whole incident leaving a bad taste in my mouth. If you have your grandmother's old fridge that still runs, keep it!

I purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator in 2014. It is a side by side with ice maker in the door. About 8 month ago the ice machine stopped working. I called an appliance repair center and they diagnosed the problem as being the control board for the ice machine. After only 3 years this stopped working? I gave them to OK to fix it. A few days later I was informed that the part is on backorder for a few months. Well a few months has become 6 months and no part is available. I contacted Whirlpool and they called me and promised a solution, but then they never contacted me again. So it is almost 7 months later and I still have no ice. How can a relatively newer product break down and then not have a part available? Whirlpool absolutely does NOT care about their customers and does NOT back their products. Stay away at all costs.

I have replaced the damper control unit three times the last three years. The part begins to fail after nine months in used. The temperature becomes too cold in the refrigerator and the food started frozen because the damper door won't closed as cold air flows from freezer to the refrigerator. It adds to the displeasure that Whirlpool is not taking care of the shipping cost even the part is under warranty.

Will never buy another Whirlpool/GE product again. Nothing but problems. Paid $1700 for a Whirlpool/goldstar refrigerator 2 years ago. Problems from the start with slide-out shelf cracking, evaporator fan burnt out within 2 years, digital display cannot read anymore. Now have another problem again - not cooling. Going to the trash. No wonder your stock price have dropped. I would sell off to. Whirlpool/GE have been going down hill for the last 5 years. Maybe more. Cheap products, do reflect, it just a matter of time, I would think you would address these issues in your product line, but it show's your company is all about profits instead of quality of products. Keep going like you are, and you will be bankrupt. Cheap overpriced and nothing but junk in any products you manufacture.

Our less than 3 year old Whirlpool Gold Series 3-door refrigerator (WRF989SDAM00) went up 2 days before Christmas (12/22/17). Service guy looked at it and explained that the compressor was going. We lost food in the freezer since that was the first to lose cooling. We were told the parts alone would be over $600 not including labor, which could be just as much -- the actual repair ticket states "a blockage in the cooling lines, needs Sealed System Repair."

We understood that trying to repair a Sealed system could create more problems/repairs down the road. In Sep. we had ice build up on the inside of fridge under ice unit, part was a recall under warranty and was replaced, then 2 weeks later they needed to replace an additional part (adapter kit & user interface). It was also making a really loud noise on and off. These parts didn't help completely with the load noise. Ice stated building up again by Thanksgiving but went away before I could call again for service. Don't feel that the replacement parts really took care of that problem. Then the compressor went up.

This is a Lemon of a fridge. A real waste of money. So frustrated. We did not purchase an extended warranty so it is basically tough luck for us. We ended up having to shop and then purchase a new fridge (Not Whirlpool and never Whirlpool again) in a few hours and spend money that we did not have budgeted for a big purchase a few days before Christmas. Oh, and there is one more thing, I never realized that a Stainless Steel fridge could RUST, well this one has numerous rust spots on the front door! Junk. I do have images of the rust as well as sound of the noise. I am in if a class action suit is filed!

Although the certified repairman says that the issue with the thermostat is a known issue and the company created a whole new part to fix the problem, there is no recall. Customer service was lousy. They deny any know issue (again, they created a new part they will sell us to fix the issue) and they mocked us for not buying their warranty after having the first problems with their fridge. This new problem will cost over $300 to fix. Why is there no recall if they knew about the issue?

I will make this short. If there was a part that could break on my Whirlpool fridge, it broke. Whirlpool's 3rd party repair company (Flamingo Appliance Services, who are awful themselves) was at my home countless times. This last time, they were replacing the same malfunctioning part for the THIRD TIME. The Flamingo technician (Nicholas) "insured me" that the issues were not related, despite the same exact part being replaced 3 times. I told him that I believed that was a dishonest statement, and he left the fridge un-repaired. Now Whirlpool nor Flamingo will help, and I am stuck with a non-functional fridge, and small children at home. Whirlpool and Flamingo represent everything I despise, have zero integrity, and are a reading on the barometer of where our country is headed.

We purchased our 5 door/drawer frig in April. We have experienced two glitches when it failed to make ice for 24-48 hour periods. Now the freezer has stopped cooling. The first time the repairman came out he refused to move the refrigerator because the wheels would not roll properly. We had to purchase a sheet of thin plywood to put under the wheels so he could roll it. (We have vinyl flooring - the wheels just don't lift the unit enough to clear the floor.) When he returned 6 days later, he said the compressor was leaking and was not able to send enough Freon to the freezer section to cool it. The compressor is on back order and we have not been given a timeframe for its availability.

Purchased this 27 cubic ft French door bottom freezer fridge (WRF757SDEM01) in Sep 2016. Approximately 8 months after, fridge stopped cooling. Called Whirlpool for service diagnosis since fridge was still under warranty. Service tech stated coils were freezing over due to part malfunction and part needed to be replaced and ordered. He provided me with a temporary fix by defrosting all the ice from the coils since the part would take approximately two weeks to come in. I spent an entire day of annual leave from my place of employment for this service call!!! New part was replaced and fridge was cooling like it was supposed to.

Here again six months after the part replacement, my fridge was doing the same thing again; NOT COOLING my food AND there was this awful noise coming from the area in which the part was replaced. That drove me CRAZY to the point I would turn it off in short increments to maintain my sanity. I called whirlpool AGAIN, and this time, my fridge is NOW out of warranty, BUT, the replacement part of five months prior should still be in warranty. My fridge failed the day after Thanksgiving and five days after the fact, the service tech will be at my house again.

Worst part of this is I took an entire day off work expecting the service tech to come between 8-12 as told to me by the whirlpool customer service rep and guess what? The company called at 1000 and said they only do appointments in my area in the evenings. I was furious; again another day of employment missed at the hands of Whirlpool. I am not confident that the same part that was replaced in May is defective and I may be going through spouts of an inoperable fridge again and again. Whirlpool really needs to take a hard look at recalling these fridges OR providing quality appliances for the money that we pay. I had GE appliances in my old house and NEVER had issues with the refrigerator. My new builder choose whirlpool and made the wrong choice! I just want a refrigerator that will work operate for the $2100.00 that I paid. I will NEVER recommend whirlpool appliances to anyone... Never!!!

This is a good customer service (CS) review. Whirlpool knows about the defect and continues to distribute the fridge this way. We have a Whirlpool model #WRF757SDEM01 we purchased this year (2017). We love the size and the fact that the ice bin is in the door and takes up very little room. Our only complaint prior to this issue was the ice and water do not always come out gracefully. So we were happy overall till a large block of ice formed in the back of the fridge. My original call to CS was great. They did not ask me a bunch of stupid questions, just said that should not be happening and scheduled a service call.

Service guy knew exactly what it was because he had repaired the same model with the same issue several times. It is a defect in the dual cooling/defrost system that Whirlpool knows about, but continues to produce. Two parts need to be replaced and one part had to be ordered. Which was not a big deal since two days were needed to thaw out the mini glacier. We lost food so I made a second call to CS and again there were no stupid questions or arguments. They got a $75 debit card in the mail to us. So I thank Whirlpools CS reps, but sure wish the manufacturing side of things were a little more diligent in production. Certainly this cost them money on all accounts.

We have a large family so when we needed a new refrigerator we found this very large unit (Whirlpool 32 cu). About this unit, it's not really all that wide, but it is very deep. Lowe's didn't have a model on the floor but we went by photos. Also the salesman showed us a smaller version of this unit and we were impressed with the design. However unlike the unit we saw the shelves aren't adjustable. They are preset. Also the ice maker on top is very small and makes ice very slowly. The freezer section ice maker is much larger.

The main complaint I have with that is unless you push the tray all the way to the back ice can drop behind the tray and fall down causing the freezer door not to always close properly, leaving you with semi defrosted food. Whoever designed this refrigerator was an idiot. All issues are really related to design flaws. This is a very expensive refrigerator. I expected a great unit and got a piece of crap instead. Stay away from this model at all cost. It would be smarter to buy 2 refrigerators instead if you have the room. This model will give you nothing but a headache and grief.

This is our story about our experience. This all took place within 1 year. We bought it at Lowe's. They were wonderful when it came to taking care of us when it was within the stores’ warranty. They really tried to help us. Once their warranty ran out they put us in touch with our new repairmen. Lowe's did tell us that one other man bought the same unit and he was up to refrigerator # 15. Like I said, this unit is crap. Our first unit was delivered with a huge dent in the door. They took it back (lucky for us we have 2 other refrigerators).

Second unit arrived in store also badly dented. They didn't bother to deliver that unit. Third unit arrives at store but back area around motor all dented up. They order a 4th unit. This unit wasn't dented up so they delivered it. However doors were very off and wouldn't line up so it didn't close properly. A 5th unit was ordered and same issue with the doors. A 6th unit ordered and they called telling me that it was all dented up and needed to order a new unit. Our 7th unit arrived and in 3 days started making funny sounds. Dual ice makers stopped working and inside refrigerator is was very warm.

Lowe's ordered #8. This unit the freezer doors weren't lining up so #9 was ordered. This time everything seemed to line up, no dents however by the third month it started making a funny sound. Dual ice makers stopped working. Warm inside the refrigerator section. Lowe's sent out a repair man. He explained a design flaw was not enough insulation around the fan so it was icing up. That was replaced and it was working nicely for 4 months. Same issues with fan icing up, the noise and no ice. The repair man came out again and mentioned what was kind of a recall with the unit. The control panel in the back of the refrigerator was wrong and needed the correct one to be put in. That was done. He told us that we shouldn't have any more issues with it.

Same thing again. Same symptoms, same results...we had to throw out hundreds of dollars worth of food. (I just put in an entire prime filet mignon I planned for a special dinner and had to throw it out. OUCH!) Awaiting for the repair man, again. He will be out in 5 more days. I'm sure it will be a new issue, a new brand new fix and it will work for a few weeks to months and we will be calling him again.

Then the weird blackouts started approx once per month where the panel light as well as the interior lights went on and off every minute with that dreadful BEEP. This went on for over 24 hrs and made living in the same room HELL. The beep and three clicks happen every minute and the cooling is none.

Whirlpool service came ($80.00) just to look at it and will come back with the rest of the bill which probably will be astronomical. I feel cheated big time!! Minute and the cooling has worsened big time. Whirlpool service came ($ 80.00) just to look at it and stated it needs a new computer board as well as a new front panel on the left door.

My husband and I remodeled our home and needed a new refrigerator... I wanted to try a Samsung, but after exhaustive research on my husband's part, he insisted we purchase a Whirlpool fridge... From the get go, I have regretted that decision. The main reason being the door on the L side of the fridge does not close completely. Sure, it alarms for a time, but what about all the times I close the door and leave the house. I have had to dispose of more groceries than I care to think about... Never again will I purchase anything by Whirlpool!

This started Sept 27 2017 when the ordered online electric range 30 inch slide in oven Whirlpool brand was delivered. When using the oven, a noxious diesel smell filled my home, despite multiple attempts to burn in the unit as advised. 10 days later after still trying to "burn it in" fumes got worse. I called corp who then sent over a tech to look at it and the tech shared with me when he arrived that he was the wrong person since he cant smell due to an old injury! He admitted he smelled a chemical when it first went on but it went away for him but "might have went away due to is impaired smelling ability". I called Corp back and they totally agreed something was wrong with it that could not be repaired and the unit should be picked up and I should be paid back that day it is picked up.

They said in a "few days" which later turned in 2-3 weeks out and counting... I filed a complaint with the BBB due to the ongoing issues. Corp office said they would pick up unit and at that time hand deliver me my refund in full. At first the pick up was weeks out but after BBB was notified they came yesterday 10/18/17 and removed unit, but no check! I called Corp again this time asking why I did not get my money as they promised she said someone dropped the ball, and that someone should have told me that since they had to get someone non-local to get it that they will mail me the check in 14-21 days! She said "I see in the notes. They told you they would hand deliver you your refund so they should have called you about the change".

So here I sit... No oven in use since Sept 18 and no money back to buy one for weeks yet. I have never been told, despite my requests as to what the "chemical" was that I was burning off in my home and exposed my family to over 10 days which we had headaches and nausea from (despite windows opened and fans going at full blast). Only that it might have come from the "manufacturer" or process. This company isn't the only one who has had issues on occasion with a defect in this never-ending chemical smell but the lack of regard of my safety concerns and failure to stand up to what they offered to do (poorly handled response) is simply wrong and bad business.

I have not dealt with Whirlpool regarding matters ever and have very little of their products in my home so unsure if this is unique or standard with them. I wont buy their products anymore because I am less than "very dissatisfied with my experience". I may have been the only unlucky person having this kind of "response" from this company but felt the need to share.

As I write this compressor getting ready to go out yet again. Paid almost $3000 for this piece of crap. On first name basis with technician. He tells me that his guys work on this particular refrigerator CONSTANTLY. So far I have lost over $1700 in food and wages (leaving work to meet technician). Currently battling Whirlpool. My next step will be legal action if they do not refund or replace this stainless piece of garbage.

This is just the part... Have no idea how much it will cost for the labor to install the part. Will most likely be another $150.00 or so. Over $300.00 for a light, how can this be? I hope this review makes it to the president of Whirlpool! My husband and I built our first home and finally moved into it on April 22, 2017. We saved everywhere we could and I did my best to research my appliances. I was so excited to buy a BIG refrigerator for our family of five, (3 are hungry teenagers!) after years of using a smaller side-by-side. We went with the 31.5-cu ft French door/drawer with dual icemakers, model #WRF993FIFM. The original price was $3,599 but we got it on sale for $2,298 at Home Depot. After only 5 months it stopped cooling! I woke up one morning to find a fridge full of spoiled food!! After waiting 3 weeks I had 2 different repairmen come out and have been told that it is un-repairable due to two parts that are needed, one of which is on back order indefinitely. I've called Whirlpool numerous times and only get the run around and "I'm sorry mam we can't do anything else".

So I'm just supposed to be without my refrigerator until who knows when?! The first 2 weeks of this crap we had to live out of Igloo coolers on our back porch. That meant no buying real groceries, only milk and juice and drinks. Thankfully the awesome people at Home Depot brought us a "loaner", which is an apartment size fridge, to use while we wait. So now I just have to walk across the house to my garage every time I need something, and I can't buy much food because it won't fit!! I'm so disgusted with how Whirlpool is handling this!!! Not only did we buy our fridge but we also went with Whirlpool for our stove, dishwasher and microwave, and we already owned a newer Whirlpool washer and dryer set. We spent thousands of dollars and can't even get them to exchange this piece of junk! Come on Whirlpool, surely you don't treat all your customers this way!? Do the right thing and let us have a replacement!!!

We bought the Whirlpool refrigerator from Home Depot. The ice maker does not work. We get 2 cups of ice a day. Home Depot Told us we should get 8 to 10 pounds of ice a day. We call a repair service and they said we should get 2 pounds of ice a day. Still getting 2 cups a day. Call again and now they said we should get 64 cube of ice a day. So now Home Depot has us calling Whirlpool instead of them. Now we will have another repair company coming out. Waiting to see what they have to say.

Very disappointed with Whirlpool for not backing their refrigerator. And don’t buy from Home Depot. You can’t return if you buy it. And I have a warranty on it and they have a lemon law 3 repair calls for the same thing and they will take it back. Not true. I will be calling once a week for 5 years until they get me some ice. Purchased Refrigerator (WhirlPool Refrigerator WRX988SIBM03) 16 months ago and noticed the drawer with glass that house the drawers had a crack on the right side. Couldn't believe it was cracked after such little use with just two adults living in the home. Removed it and noticed this was such shoddy design. There is a heavy metal bar in the back with a piece of flimsy plastic that attaches to the heavy metal bar with only a screw attaching the plastic to the metal.

I made attempt to glue it since it was only cracked but then the plastic just started crumbling into pieces like a broken cookie. Truly there is something wrong with the quality of the product as well as the design of having this heavy metal bar attached to this flimsy plastic. The quality of this part only leads me to believe what is next with this refrigerator. I am sure there is more to come.

I contacted Whirlpool to see if they would replace but of course this is at my cost. I've had inner parts of refrigerators break over years of use and they get old and busted up over time but this is a new refrigerator and once I inspected the part, I was disappointed with myself for not removing these inner parts and inspecting prior to purchasing. I would have picked up on the poor quality right away. Taken by the outside of this unit and its beauty, and not truly looking at whether or not the shelf can hold a couple gallons of milk. I am here to tell you there is no way this would have withstood the test of time with only a gallon of milk sitting on this unit. Poor design, poor quality and metal attached to raw plastic as it is a disaster.

I have had nothing but problems with this refrigerator. Thank goodness I bought the extended warranty! Just a year old, my ice maker stopped working. Then, the refrigerator stopped cooling. Circuit boards were replaced, fan motors, etc. over $1500.00 in parts and labor and the entire summer to have it fixed. This past August, ice maker stopped working again. Then, stopped cooling. I am now at week 6 without a functioning refrigerator. While I am thankful I have an extended warranty, through the store that I purchased this refrigerator, I am not thrilled with the amount of time that has passed between each visit and the fact that it is the exact same parts that are once again being replaced. This refrigerator is a LEMON. Do not buy this brand.

We will see if the repair holds. Always buy an extended warranty. Want to add. Based on our experience with our Whirlpool Cabrio washer, Square Trade, though more expensive seems to be the best at their warranty. The rep asked questions, ordered a large part, delivered next day. We called repair service, they came down immediately. From broken to fixed in under 3 days. Their negative. More expensive. Maybe a shorter warranty window. When the paid repair cost equal the original cost of the appliance, the warranty is over.

I hope the CEO posts this on a giant screen in front of all their employees. The first thing I did after moving into our new home is brag about the American made Whirlpool appliances. Being from the Midwest I take pride in made in the USA product and go out of my way to support homegrown companies. I know that a number of the components in my fridge include the fan that failed after 11 month were most likely sourced and manufactured in China... but that no excuse!! Whirlpool needs to do a better job of QC. You need to be passionate and rigorous with your testing. Don't reduce cost at the cost of your customer base. It is amazing we're to the point where we can no longer compete with China in quality.

Second is customer service, if you know you can't compete in quality you need to be able to make up for that with customer support. I called Whirlpool and scheduled an appointment the day the fridge quit working. I was upset that it would take three days to have a working fridge but I was understanding. Lucky for me I had an understanding neighbor too. Anyways, when the day came for my scheduled warranty repair I was told that Whirlpool was mistaken and that I wouldn't be able to get it serviced for another week! This is just unacceptable.

Right away I called the Whirlpool customer service representative and manager to express my frustration with this "error". They were polite and both agreed with my frustration. It also sounded as if they also didn't understand why their own company was doing such a poor job addressing repair issues. They made it sound like this was a common problem of people getting overbook at repair service providers. Again another fumble. Bottom line, due to my position, I don't really have a choice but to wait another week for a repair. Take note: Every time you lose a customer like me this you lose 10! I will now go out of my way to tell people about my negative experience rather than my positive. So disappointed.

In calling Whirlpool back (another 30 minutes on hold), they again attempted to insert my address and zip code only to find the program changed it again. I got NO assistance. Had to then wait 1 week for repair company to send out service tech. He determined it was unrepairable. A replacement was delivered. The replacement started flooding the interior down the back, filling underneath the bottom drawer and down into the freezer (ruining everything in the freezer) and out onto the floor. Called Whirlpool and had to wait another week for a tech. They assessed the problem and left. I was told it would be fixed within the week, that they'd call when the parts arrived. 3 weeks later, no word. Called Whirlpool, the parts were on backorder with no ETA.

Two weeks later the parts were expedited, after I called again crying, and a tech came out again to fix the flooding. Two weeks ago the fan started to make a very loud noise and the internal temperature started to fluctuate and finally settled between 55-60+. Everything was ruined, again. I am following up on a review I submitted on April 22, 2015 about a Whirlpool refrigerator with french doors and bottom refrigerator. At the time, paint was falling off from the door as pictured in the previous review. This another chapter on this story and probably the closing chapter. A few months after the paint event which I could have lived for a while, the right door hinge literally disintegrated leaving the door without support. The door seal's material is of such poor quality that they have disintegrated and the water condenses inside. The bottom photo shows hinge components that came off the door hinge on the kitchen floor. The second photo from the bottom up photo shows how the door scraped the plastic of the freezer door top trim if the door is not lifted to clear it. The second photo from top to bottom shows the door over the hinge pin if I am not careful lifting the door to clear the freezer door.

The first photo from top to bottom shows how the door remains open if not lifted so that the door magnetic seal keeps it in place. It is very hard for me to believe that a country like the United States of America treats its customers with no respect. I met my obligation to pay the amount on the price tag of this appliance but I cannot say that Whirlpool did its part of providing a basic quality product. There is no consumer protection agency in this country to protect consumers from corporate predators that have no sense of a fair deal with a customer. So here we are, being abused by United Corporations of America. I hope the future brings a different understanding of the american people on these matters. Thank you for the opportunity to express myself on this matter. Next step... buy a foreign made appliance that will support another country work force... sounds familiar.

This is my third Whirlpool refrigerator. The first two lasted about 20 years each, and although not fancy, they were always serviceable. This one is different.

Because of my kitchen cabinets, the only refrigerator with as much storage capacity (cu ft) as my old one was what seemed to be an almost identical Whirlpool, with the only exception being a slight difference in the ice maker. But this one is a disaster. The water/ice dispenser has been changed to one with one space only for your container. The water that comes out is warm, because the routing of the tube has been changed and it no longer goes through the chilled refrigerator space; the ice pours out so hard that usually half of it lands on the floor.

In order to operate the dispenser using anything with less than a 4" diameter, you need two hands: One to depress the lever behind your glass and one to hold the glass farther away from the refrigerator. Failure to do that results in a wet mess. After dispensing crushed ice, it continues to send small pieces flying long after I change the switch to "cubes." But that is the least inconvenience. In an apparent engineering change to meet energy efficiency, the new "refrigerator" recycles air from the freezer to the refrigerator compartment. That and other changes in the frost-free engineering have resulted in:

Uneven cooling in the refrigerator. In fact, it froze $1800 worth of insulin pens. I was advised by the Whirlpool representative that I shouldn't have put them on the shelf where the vent from the freezer spews out freezing air. Spoiled food in the freezer. Everything in the freezer develops a thick coating of ice crystals within a short time. This dries out the meat, shrinks the popsicles, and destroys the quality of fish and fowl. At this moment, I have two pork chops that defrosted in a plastic container on my kitchen counter. I bought them fresh, and now the 10-12 oz. of pork is swimming in over 1/2 c. of water.

Interior fittings are poorly made and shelves and drawers do not work easily. The allegedly "stainless" exterior is difficult to clean, and many reviewers have remarked that they find rust within a few months. I could go on. There is more poor engineering, and an array of noises filling the kitchen, but you get the picture. I wish I could trash this refrigerator and buy a good one, but that isn't feasible both because of budgetary and space constraints. The last service person who came out sighed and told me that the refrigerator was cold, and that meant that the unit was operating okay! I HATE this refrigerator and struggling with it from day to day. My hope is that no one will buy a Whirlpool ever again. I certainly won't.

Updated on 12/05/2017: Whirlpool, faced with my wrath over a refrigerator set on LOW that froze $1800 worth of insulin, provided a replacement (25 Cu Ft side-by-side refrigerator). I have owned two previous Whirlpool refrigerators -- for 20 years each -- as well as other Whirlpool major appliances. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER WHIRLPOOL APPLIANCE. The replacement is deficient in every design and functional aspect I can think of. Temperature is uneven in both freezer and refrigerator. Food in the freezer is coated with "snow" within a week and dried out and spoiled within a month. Ice comes out with such force that it ricochets out of the glass and around the floor. Water from the dispenser is warm. Leafy vegetables spoil within 2 days. Whirlpool sent "technicians" who informed me that the unit was working properly because it was 'cold'. PIECE OF JUNK! DON'T BUY ANYTHING MADE BY WHIRLPOOL!

In seven months, it has failed three times and I have been without a refrigerator for a cumulative 7 weeks so far. Each time it failed, I lost all my food, (but not until after we'd been eating compromised food). If you buy a fridge, I strongly recommend getting a thermometer, because we learned the hard way that these Whirlpool units can just stop cooling properly and you won't necessarily notice that it is above the FDA's recommendations for food storage. Anyway, after each call they will make an appointment a week or two out for a tech to come out, who then orders the parts that take weeks to come in.

Now, my third service call in and the SAME PARTS have failed again and I am again without any refrigeration and they have no idea when the parts will be in. This has been an awful experience, and Whirlpool could not care less. DON'T buy their products, under any of their names. IT IS TIME FOR A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT. If you are on this website, keep reading. You will definitely find many people that have your same problem. We purchased our refrigerator 5 years ago. Since then we have had a leak inside of it which is gradually forming mold that I have to cleanup. The ice maker and water dispenser do not function for months at a time. I just purchased 2 drawers for the same reason as the review on May 5, 2016. The tabs break off of the front panels and the panel falls off of the drawers. There's no way to pull them out. We paid over $200.00 for two drawers!

I spoke with customer service at Whirlpool and read them the 2016 review. Their answer was that you should not believe everything you read. My answer was, "How can't I? It's happening to the refrigerator I own." They just kept giving robotic answers. The conversation was that of someone that is in denial of having a problem. They don't care. Instead of at least offering a discount on the drawers, she offered me an over $400.00 one year warranty. Pathetic! Whirlpool has just lost another customer.

Bought a Whirlpool Model WRF560SMYB04 on May 20, 2015. In less than 6 months the ice maker literally fell off its mount and sprayed water everywhere. It was remounted under warranty. A couple of months later the ice maker had to be replaced as it quit working. Since May 2016 I have paid for 3 service calls to have the ice maker reinstalled as it keeps falling from where it is mounted. I contacted Whirlpool and they basically told me to take a hike since it is out of warranty... did not get the extended plan. The technician says it is a totally faulty design which is why it keeps falling. It fell again yesterday. So I will get rid of this POS and buy an LG with extended warranty. Never again will I own a Whirlpool appliance.

It has been a rude awakening, that Whirlpool is a substandard company. I have gone through 3 refrigerators under the label Kenmore, Whirlpool & 2 1/2 days ago Maytag. I purchased a Maytag 9 years ago and it is still working fine, and even cools a bit too much. Now mentioned labels are under Whirlpool; Since Whirlpool bought out Maytag in 2006, Whirlpool turned Maytag into a sub standard product company. They are spuming refrigerators with defective thermostats. Just think of it, I am one customer that have had the same issue with 3 REFRIGERATORS UNDER 3 LABELS MANUFACTURED THE WHIRLPOOL. I just called Maytag, and when I tried to make sense of the name of either Daren, Karen or Taren, ** hung up on me. I then called Home Depot online major appliances & ended transferring me to WHIRLPOOL!

My Maytag refrigerator was delivered 07/25/17, after less than 24 hours, I had to move the settings to 4 from 3 for the refrigerator. She said that if the refrigerator cools enough at 4 then there is nothing wrong! Nothing wrong! To be substandard, in my book it's plenty wrong. They have no business sense nor customer service sense. I will buy another refrigerator or appliance from any Whirlpool labels when hell freezes over! For them to accept substandard parts, probably foreign, it is not acceptable in CA nor the USA. Since; since this is a foreign owned company, I pray they will be a company not doing much business in the USA unless the measure up to our standards. Since; going forward we will make American and Buy American!

Whirlpool finally said they would refund my purchase and I should see the money in about three weeks. That would be about a week longer than the refrigerator worked. I don't have the money to just get another one so I guess the family will be without a refrigerator for another month. That means shopping every day for perishable for a family of 10. I would not recommend another Whirlpool product. This is no joke, every time I called them one of the first things asked was "Did you get the extended warranty?" Why would they ask, sounds as if they don't trust their own product either. This unit was purchase online through Sears.com. Purchase price was $2299.99. Order placed on March 4, 2017.

The doors never lined up or closed properly from day one. The final and last attempt to fix was putting caulk in the seal of the doors!! Left door does not seal properly and moisture builds up on inside. I requested several times for a new one and Whirlpool refused. Also purchased microwave, stove and dishwasher. Microwave went out 6 months after using it. They had to replace a major part. At least they did this at no charge. Just the hassle of having to be home 2 times to meet service tech. Now it has an obstruction in the Freon lines that causes it to freeze up and not cool. It was deemed not repairable by service company sent by Whirlpool/KitchenAid, and yet they want "one more" test run. The last person I spoke with at customer service had a flippant attitude and said there are no notes. They tried to repairman but he phoned and told me that he could not service my fridge as he was a 3 1/2 hr and one Ferry ride away from me - He was in Whistler and I live on the Sunshine Coast. I phoned WP again and they sent someone who actually lives here. He found and repaired a small freon leak.

Four months later it happened again, the fridge was also making loud noises when the compressor started and stopped. I phoned WP again. They sent the same repairman, he ordered and installed a new compressor and topped up the freon. Sadly less than 3 months later it happened again. This time I was very firm with WP that I was unhappy, they extended my warranty for a further 6 months. The same repairman again came and topped up the freon. That brings us to this week.

On Wednesday June 14 I woke up again for the fourth time to a fridge full of rotting food. The fridge was actually warmer than my Greenhouse that day! I phoned WP. They were unwilling to help so I asked for a supervisor. She offered to pay 1/2 of the service call as my warranty had expired Jan 26/17. I said that was unacceptable and asked to speak to her Supervisor. She stated that she was as high as I could speak to, so I asked for an e-mail address for her supervisor. She instead tried to tell that I had no warranty and that they had already "fixed" my fridge 3 times and given me an extra 6 months on my warranty and offered for me to BUY an extended warranty! I replied that if my fridge were fixed I would not need a service call and that in fact my fridge had never really been fixed. She transferred me to another person.

He offered to pay for the service call. I accepted. He asked if I were happy, I said that I would wait and see after the service call on Monday. It spews crushed ice all over every time it is used. It's like the setting is stuck in-between crushed and cubed. Every time it is used ice goes on floor and I have to clean it up. If a small child uses it they get ice in their face and down their shirts. I have been told from Whirlpool and Lowe's that it is in the design and they will not even try to fix it. They will definitely not replace it.

Then in April we replaced the water filter and the ice-maker stopped working.

My freezer also stinks like stale water (my reason for replacing the old refrigerator plus the water on the floor). I followed a YouTube video for defrosting the drainpipe, it was very tedious, labor intensive, and time consuming and worked for 3 weeks. This is very upsetting. After spending $2500 to have such problems and my expensive $150 4-year extended warranty expired just weeks before the ice-maker went out. This is obviously a design problem that Whirlpool refuses to address since my other model was a year 2000 model and my 2013 has the exact same problem. Two months after the warranty expired the unit started failing. Called the dealer and was told that they would have the service department to call us. Never heard from the dealer again. I am writing due to the defects and flaws in my recently purchased appliances. I chose Whirlpool believing I was buying the highest quality for longevity purposes. Every appliance I own is Whirlpool or Maytag - same company. I purchased warranties and was told the warranties don't cover my issues and was basically brushed off. I am infuriated. Here is a list of complaints. Refrigerator is cracking on the inside on the inner door and at the bottom. These cracks surfaced within the first year of purchase. The warranty does not cover cracks in the inner body.

The oven/range has an exhaust that bellows out of the top of the range in a way that the smoke curls up onto the panel and discolors it. I have never had an oven constructed with an exhaust pipe in the front that pours smoke onto the range itself and into your house. The dishwasher paint has rusted off on the door as have the screws on the inside of the door. The cover panel on the cleaning dispenser of the washer has popped off and cannot be popped back on, hence the guts of the dispenser are always visible and when I go to load the cleansers the front has to pulled out from inside the dispense.

The refrigerator is also leaking from the bottom and the ice-maker no longer produces ice. This started off and on for the past 2 years. At first I thought the leak was from a near by window. No it is the refrigerator. All of these appliances were purchased in 2013, 14 and 15. New. I am 56. I have never had issues like this ever in my life growing up or as an adult. Appliances lasted forever. I am one person. How much damage could I do? None.

These are flaws in chemical compounding of the paints and materials for cracks and rust. Whirlpool was called various times and was not interested in sending a rep to verify my claims. They said all of my warranties did not cover such issues only motors. Lots of many spent in vain. I will not purchase Whirlpool again as they seem disinterested in customer satisfaction.

We purchased a new Whirlpool side by side refrigerator several months ago, at a cost of over $1,000. The unit included an ice maker. We immediately noticed that cubes would get hung up in the release mechanism, and were exposed to the ambient temperature in the kitchen. Once they melted a little bit, they would slide through the opening and fall on our wood floor, melt all the way, and leave a puddle of water to damage our floor. This was frequently 2 entire cubes.

We, of course, called the dealer, who sent someone out, but he said he couldn't fix it - apparent design flaw. Although it looks like the same basic concept on other manufacturers' products, theirs works, Whirlpool's doesn't. The dealer called Whirlpool several times, but was not able to get them to stand behind their product. So we're stuck with a very substandard product. Our long and tortuous experience began in 2013 and continues to this day. But I'll just give the headlines. In August 2013 we bought Whirlpool BTM French Door KFIS20XVMS11 from Lowe's. Three years later we learned that model number appeared on the attached recall notice which had been issued just days before our unit was delivered in September. Neither Lowe's nor Whirlpool notified us of this recall which described a simple repair to a part that was leaking so slowly that its effects took three years to show up in a destroyed floor and cabinet enclosure that will cost $2981 (and still rising) to repair.

We called AIG, the company behind the extended warranty provider, and they responded promptly by dispatching a Whirlpool factory authorized service technician who attempted unsuccessfully to drag the unit from its alcove over the warped, erupted floor beneath. With the refrigerator half-way out of its enclosure, the technician stopped and asked us to sign a waiver of liability. When we refused, he announced that the problem was water damage and he jammed the unit back into place, leaving dents in both doors and the freezer drawer below.

We went to Lowe's, who strung us along for several months before sending an engineer whose report concluded that the problem was a manufacturer's defect (The Lowe's engineer and his associate damaged the unit further when they forced it back into place over a floor made more uneven when they removed the pieces of rotted oak shown in the accompanying photo.). Based upon the engineer's report, which Lowe's said it had no "duty" to share, we were given a 1-800 number for Whirlpool customer service, with assurance that we would be taken care of. Although we had to start from cold without the engineer's report, Whirlpool customer service was initially very accommodating and gave us hope. For a moment, I thought we were going to get resolution. They assigned a case number and we supplied the requested documentation. That was on a Friday in March, 2017.

Monday we were surprised to receive a sternly worded notice from the Whirlpool Law Department that a clerk there would be taking over our case. We realized that we were far from resolution. Why did the Law Department intervene? We don't know. We guess it may be because they want to avoid a class action lawsuit on behalf of possibly thousands of leaky refrigerator owners (Whirlpool, KitchenAid, Maytag, Jenn-Air and Amana units were all among the affected). In any case, since January we have been monkey-in-the middle among Whirlpool's various departments, Lowe's various departments and AIG, with no progress. What do we want? We just want things back the way they were before our leaky refrigerator did its damage and before Lowe's and Whirlpool demolished our good as new looking KitchenAid refrigerator in the process of telling us they won't fix it.

Footnote: We purchased all new KitchenAid Architect series appliances in August/September 2013, including top of line cooktop, dishwasher, convection microwave, convection oven and a French door cabinet depth refrigerator. Every unit except the cooktop has required warranty service, including five expensive electronic parts replacements. Fortunately we bought extended warranty service from KitchenAid/AIG, who have been terrific to deal with on the parts replacements. I don't recommend Whirlpool appliances but if you are intent on buying them, I do highly recommend extended warranties. As for the value of Whirlpool's manufacturer's warranty, watch this space. I'll be back with the final resolution.

It's amazing that an appliance that retails over $3K only comes with a 1 year sealed refrigeration warranty when Whirlpool offers it on other models. Be sure you know what your warranty coverage is before you buy any Whirlpool product.

Purchased this Upright freezer model 160NZTQ02 approximately 2 years ago. Freezer had problems maintaining temperature from the beginning. Noticed it freezing up at air vents in back of interior. Unplugged, removed contents, and let defrost by ambient temperature (approximately 4 hours). After using this method for first three defrost periods (approximately two weeks apart) I began defrosted with hair dryer, then moved on to heat gun. Bottom line is this junk won't hold temperature and freezes up every few days to a week. No more Whirpool for me.

I then opened up the refrigerator side all the items are not as cool as they should be. I then proceeded to do a Google search to see what I should check for in regards to the freezer and the refrigerator side not keeping cool. I then proceeded to pull the refrigerator out to inspect the back of the refrigerator. When I did that I noticed there was a hot mark on my wall, as well as a huge it burn mark on my floor. I then unplug to the refrigerator do the huge fire hazard and I touched my floor and it was very hot to the touch.

I called my stepfather who is a firefighter and had him come over right away. He said we needed to take the refrigerator outside right away because the compressor had overheated and that is why it started to burn my floor. He then went to the fire station and got a heat sensor check machine, and we checked my wall and floor and we had to make sure that it was cooling down so it did not start my floor boards on fire so then we had to put a fan on it to cool it down. I then went and purchased a new refrigerator, due to this one was no longer able to be used or repaired. The refrigerator was only four years and 5 months old. For a $1,300 refrigerator it should last longer than 4 years.

I called Whirlpool the following day or two days later and regards to this issue. The only thing they could tell me is that they were sorry, this refrigerator almost started my home on fire and we have six children a family of 8. It ruined my floor and part of my wall in my kitchen and we have lost a few hundred dollars and groceries. This is ridiculous and not the first time, I read a few others having this issue, Whirlpool said they have never received any complaints in regards to the refrigerator burning the floor and does not see it as a fire hazard at all.

The door handle actually broke just behind the screws that hold it in place, the plastic part of it broke into a couple of pieces. The cost to replace this handle is approximately $80, which is ridiculous in my opinion. Please start making things of quality materials instead of cheap plastic, especially at a stress point of a part. Even I know better than that. By November, the refrigerator started to get warm. Apparently, the evaporator fan motor had to be changed according to the technician who spent more than an hour on the phone with their technical advisor to diagnose the problem with the refrigerator. After a week, the refrigerator got fixed. Not only did the refrigerator started working again, even the water from the dispenser got finally cold, too.

Now four months later, March 2016, the same problem: the fridge started to not get cold again. In addition to that, the ice would not come out from the ice dispenser and water from the water dispenser is not cold again. When my husband checked inside the door, the ice were all clumped together. They looked like they melted. And even the ice in the freezer bin looked the same. And on top of this, the refrigerator was making so much noise. The technician was just here again today.

But I can attest to the condition of the marred finish and the ludicrous solution provided by WHIRLPOOL customer service... order more doors. On August 16, 2016 I received delivery of an Whirlpool under counter refrigerator that I ordered online from Home Depot. Model # WUR50X24EM. Five months later, on January 10, 2017, it stopped working, I called Whirlpool for repair. They referred me to their service company, I called the service company the same day. They had a repairman out on the following Tuesday, 1/17/17. The repairman said that he will need to contact Whirlpool to order a part. Whirlpool sent him the wrong part. After numerous phone calls no one from Whirlpool could figure out the correct part number. The repairman kept sending over pictures and information on the correct part, but this all went nowhere with Whirlpool.

On 2/7/17, I called and started yelling. I had been very patient up to this point. I was finally offered by Whirlpool a "parts research" to determine exactly which part was needed. Plus a $50 Visa card to appease me. At this point, it's been four weeks without a refrigerator and no one from Whirlpool has put any effort towards trying to figure out the correct part. On 2/16/17, I called Whirlpool again to find out if they had found the correct part. They told me that the new part had been sent to the service company and Whirlpool scheduled me an appointment right then for Monday, 2/20/17.

So today is 2/20/17, the repairman came and went, Whirlpool once again failed, they lied because the repairman came out with the wrong part that was originally sent to him when he ordered the part back on 1/17/17. I called Whirlpool and asked for a manager. They connected me with the Resolution Specialist. I told her everything and pointed out that it has been six weeks without a refrigerator. She said she will take care of it and get the right part ordered. I asked her how long I should have to wait, cause at this point I have waited long enough. She said she will have an answer by the end of this week. I don't believe her, I feel as though Whirlpool is pacifying me. I don't understand why they can't order the correct part.

I have no faith in Whirlpool that they will do the right thing or have any understanding on how inconvenienced they have made me. I have no faith to the point that I ordered another refrigerator from a different manufacturer. It will be here tomorrow between 8am-12pm. Oh, and Home Depot, they washed their hands of this a long time ago. And, I have yet to see the $50 Visa Card.

We had bought a whirlpool refrigerator (Model - DC 205 5S/2016) in late April 2016. Initially I noticed a whirring sound after 6-7 hours of switching it on. As nobody from whirlpool had come for installation or any follow up even after requesting, we let it go thinking that nothing could go wrong with a new fridge. Nevertheless, the disturbing sound continued, until I noticed exposed wires running crisscross atop the freezer box and below it, one even preventing the chiller tray to be pulled out easily. Also, we had to get a stabilizer to reduce the notice even though it was written in big bold letters that it was a Stabilizer free refrigerator.

After 8 months of owning it, we went for a three-day trip leaving the refrigerator on and set at point 3 in the cooling knob of which 5 is the maximum. On returning back, I noticed a crack at the top right corner of the freezer door and saw that ice had built up covering that side of the freezer inside. Again, as I had to leave for office within 1 hour, I let it rest and went. In the evening we noticed that the crack had extended, so we defrosted the fridge. The next morning I found a small piece of the freezer door floating in the defrosted water, and the freezer door was unhinged and askew at the top, in fact a part of the freezer door's upper right hinge had broken due to maybe the pressure of ice buildup, which had caused the crack that we saw.

Shocking it was at first to learn that a freezer door be made of such low standard material ignoring the other fact of wires jutting out of the freezer at top and bottom. As the warranty period was 12 months, I immediately called the customer care, who put me on hold for 8-10minutes and disconnected, this repeated 2 times after which I was frustrated enough and vowed not to use the freezer again.

After almost a month a more responsible member of my family took it upon himself and raised a complaint which was answered and a service person came home with a dirty looking and completely scratched piece of replacement door for the freezer. He informed that plastic pieces never came in warranty and we had to pay for it. Upon asking for further clarification he called his manager, Hemanth who was too rude and informed "Madam you have pulled the freezer door apart which has caused this." Also, he was asking me specifically "are you lying as you said initially that you left for 3days and now you said 5 days?" We had left on a Friday night and came back on Tuesday morning, which means 3 complete days out of station. I never knew the exact number of days mattered as a fridge was supposed to be switched on continuously for days.

Also, finally Hemanth was informing like "if it was some mechanical or electrical fault we could have done it free of cost." So, I reported the whirring noise and the wires jutting out of the freezer tray. He blabbered at first and then informed me that the sound might be due to voltage fluctuation if you are not using a stabilizer (we were using one even though the fridge was a stabilizer free operation one, phew) and the wires issue he completely ignored claiming it as normal.

So we paid in full for the dirty and scratched replacement door and also had to be called as liars and blamed that we had literally pulled off the door. Also, he was the most unprofessional manager that I had ever spoken to as he closed the conversation with, "If it was LG or Samsung, they would never even have come for service like this." Enough was enough... Never in my life would I have anything to do with whirlpool nor will suggest this brand to anybody.

They use such low-quality products. The warranty promises are just scam + even the managers are so insulting and bad mannered to the extent that I never want to deal with them anymore. Also, they don't think twice before just blaming the customers for their low-quality products. In all my years so far I have never come across a brand that treat their customer's like this.

China has overfilled the freezer door with insulation warping the door. This makes the door seal sag on the bottom & pull away on the right side. No way to repair. Was told they need to order a new freezer door.

Today woke up to freezer drawers completely thawed and had to throw away all food, panel shows temperature at -2*. All food thawed and unable to be cooked/used. Called Whirlpool could not send someone until next Tuesday (4 days). We are a family of 5 and cannot wait that long. Unfortunately have called 3 other appliance companies only to find that refrigerator has to be repaired by "special technicians"! This is our first Whirlpool, bought because "made in America", have been very disappointed with our $2500.00 purchase. Not sure that we will ever purchase another Whirlpool product, our inclination will be to buy less expensive product and choose to replace as opposed to paying recurring service calls + parts and labor.

Finally I got a callback after spend an hour on the phone saying that it will take one more week. There are 7 people living in my house including 2 yr old. We are having hard time with the food and waste of food. We probably throw away $200 worth of food. It jams a lot, makes a lot of noise, had to replace the ice maker assy inside it already as it quit. Then the defrost water drain plugged and had to be cleaned out. Too many problems for such a new refrigerator. The refrig. itself works fine but get one with ice maker in the freezer.

They have changed absolutely nothing in the drawer or door design. It is all still very flimsy especially compared to the competition. I would strongly advise anyone looking for a fridge to look elsewhere, since, obviously, the quality of the interior is not a priority at Whirlpool. Avoid Whirlpool Refrigerators. The new one had issues with the ice maker that required multiple service calls to fix. The refrigerator door always seemed a bit misaligned as it was a bit lower than the freezer door, but it closed, so I never complained. I was just tired of all the issues! During the last six months, the door started to remain ajar instead of closing completely so that we had to always be sure to apply sufficient pressure to close it tightly. I considered calling in a repair, but it was still closing so I thought I might be overly critical. As it got worse, I realized the door was defective, but one day, it just fell off completely without warning as though the hinges were made of butter!

After multiple service calls, a tech reattached the door, but I could see that it would not hold and sure enough, it is starting to remain ajar again. I have contacted the warranty company who is now saying the service tech claimed we were hanging on the door. This repair company the warranty company uses has an F rating with the BBB. Now, I'm being told it may take a couple weeks to get another repair company to give them an opinion, but the issue is clear, the door was defective and it looks like they found a way to avoid having to make good on the warranty!

We purchased in July 2016 from Best Buy. Very nice product. Our former Whirlpool had lasted 20 years and was a work horse for our family. The new one began not freezing ice cream in November. Then, it would periodically freeze things very well and then not freeze items fully. We contacted Best Buy thinking we had a lemon. Worthless - no help. Told us to contact Whirlpool directly. The repair person came out today and told us that our refrigerator cannot be in our garage outdoors because the "energy efficiency" of the refrigerator causes it to shut off when the surrounding temp drops below 54F. Our former Whirlpool had been outdoors in our garage in that spot for 18 years, no problems.

The new models now no longer operate if the air cools down around them. What!? There is no warning information, no sales information, no way to learn this until after you shell out 1000 dollars and lose your frozen food. It is in the manual in fine print, but we didn't read the manual cover to cover when we got the refrigerator, and we sure didn't read it BEFORE we bought it. And no one at the store, nor the installation people who represented Best Buy as paid installers told me I couldn't have this outside, even though I specifically told them I was buying it for our outside "extra" fridge and freezer to replace the old one, and the installers installed it outside. Technically our refrigerator is working as it's supposed to apparently. However, I think it should prominently be noted on pre-sales materials that it must be operated indoors only (in climates always >54 degrees).

Now I have a new refrigerator that I can't use as an extra in our garage. Apparently all the new fridges are "energy efficient" like this and shut off below 54. I cannot find any info on the internet about this, or any other complaints about a similar situation to mine. How does that make any sense? Freezing is 32 so any frozen goods will thaw, by default, always, if the machine is in cool environments. Phooey on this design spec. Dumb engineers.

Refrigerator Model WRF757SDEM01 (Gold Series). We purchased this unit January 2016 as part of a package costing around $3,000. I have had problems with 3 of the 4 appliances (oven/range, dishwasher and refrigerator). This review will focuses mainly on the refrigerator. It is worth noting that to obtain service from Whirlpool through the 800# will challenge your patience to say the least. The first service request was 07-25-16. The repair company came out and diagnosed the problem and it took another 2 weeks for them to obtain the part and return to complete the repair. The second service request was for the same problem on 11-26-16. The service company came out and replaced the part within a week. The third service request was 12-22-16 for what appears to be the same issue. I was told that due to the holidays service would not be for six days.

I have spoken to clerks and managers. I guess I will have to continue up the ladder for resolution. I have spent at between 10 and 15 hours on calls to Whirlpool and dealing with the field service vendors. This does not take into account the inconvenience with the perishables in the refrigerator or the hand washing of dishes while the dishwasher was out of service for over three weeks.

Starting at about a year old, I had to start defrosting the freezer periodically because the freezer coil would build up ice to the point where the fan would start rubbing on the ice and making a loud noise. Then about a year ago, it started leaking water from somewhere around the water filter. The water damaged my cabinets and flooring. Then the freezer slowly started to warm up. I had a technician look at it and he determined the compressor is bad. That would cost about $900 to fix, according to him. I thought it had a 5 year warranty on the compressor and associated parts. Whirlpool is claiming this is not true. The repair costs will not be covered. I paid almost $3,000 for this refrigerator! Didn't last 4 years and caused thousands of dollars in damage to my cabinets and flooring! I will never buy another Whirlpool appliance! Buyers beware. Stay away from Whirlpool at all costs!

I bought my refrigerator model WRS49/WR151 from Courts our local appliance store in November. The side panels of the fridges gets extremely hot which make me think it can set on fire at anytime. When I contacted the store two days after purchase they made it seem as though it is something normal. I never had a refrigerator that got extremely hot that I can scramble some eggs on it. That's why I can't even rate my experience.

WRX735SDBM02 - I purchase this new WP refrigerator on 7/9/16 from Home Depot. It has been repaired twice already and now the front control panel is chipping and peeling away. Whirlpool says this is cosmetic. I maintain that quality construction and material do NOT simply disintegrate spontaneously. I want the control panel fixed under warranty for manufacturing defects. This NEW refrigerator cannot stay in my home looking like this, it is unacceptable to me. Their customer service refuses to do anything. This was somewhat hard to photograph due to the reflection issue.

We just remodeled our kitchen and bought a Whirlpool kitchen suite in May of 2016. The refrigerator is absolutely terrible. I have had a repairman come out and fix the same repair/problem 5 times, a sheet of ice forms beneath the vegetable drawer (We have only owned the refrigerator for 5 months). Each time the repair person has come out it costs me a day of work due to having to wait all day for the repair service that Whirlpool hires out, "we'll be there between 9am and 4pm". This morning I decided to check to see if the sheet of ice is forming again, it is. So I call Whirlpool again.

Again, I call Whirlpool and ask if I can just get a new unit; 5 repairs in 5 months on a brand new refrigerator. The reply I get from Whirlpool is always "we'll send someone out to fix it. The unit has to be deemed irreparable or a part has to be replaced multiple times." No parts are being replaced... no one knows how to fix it. I don't understand why a large company like Whirlpool would want people to write bad reviews for their products and customer service. I'm extremely irritated with how I have been treated. I just want a refrigerator that works!! DO NOT BUY A WHIRLPOOL REFRIGERATOR!!

I purchased all the appliances for my home from the Sears store in Steamboat Springs, Colorado November 17, 2016. The refrigerator stopped freezing a few days ago. I looked at my manual & there is a 1 year limited warranty. I had a repairman come out & he told me there is a leak in the "sealed system" for the freezer. He doesn't do that type of work- it is very unusual & requires a special certification. The repair would be 500 - 1000 dollars to fix. He couldn't believe my fridge was less than 2 years of lad & is having this problem. Factory defect.

Bought a whirlpool refrigerator in 2015, have had both handles replaced 3 times, the bottom pieces of the handles are made of plastic and they crack. We had to take them to a metal fabricator and have them replaced with metal to keep them from breaking. Lowe's and whirlpool know of this problem and they do nothing about it. Will not buy another whirlpool product. Very dissatisfied.

We moved to a new house Nov. of 2012 and I went to Lowe's to buy a new refrigerator. The last refrigerator we bought was a Maytag. It was a LEMON and probably had every part replaced because we had the warranty. At Lowe's I thought the Whirlpool Refrigerator would be a good choice. We didn't purchase the warranty, big mistake. After only 4 YEARS, the refrigerator is DEAD, not in working order and would too expensive to fix says our reliable repair serviceman.

We have had this Refrigerator for 3 years in December of 2016. To date, we have had to call a repairman (in February 2016) to replace a circuit board on the back of the refrigerator. That took 4 days, as the company sent the repairman the wrong parts. After that $300 repair, which we got at a discount because, the repairman felt bad that the company actually sent the wrong part. Since then we have taken it apart ourselves for several reasons: The freezer compartment filled up with a layer of ice and started to melt all over the floor, shutting the refrigerator off, (which then forced us to borrow coolers to store the food) until it could be repaired. The drain tube was completely blocked and in order to fix this problem, the tube had to be taken out and modified, according to the Internet videos we then watched. In order to make all of these repairs, the door, the shelves and baskets have to be removed, which is definitely not an easy thing to do at all.

There are so many 'hidden screws and tabs' that must be manipulated with tools and by hand to remove the doors, shelves and trays just to get where you need to be in order to make these repairs. With each repair, the ice maker and water dispenser started having problems, because, each time the refrigerator has to be shut down, it takes hours for it to 're-set' itself. Luckily my husband had the tools necessary, with videos on the Internet to assist us. However, once the first problem started, it was a snowball effect, literally. ALL of these problems have been identified by the manufacturer, however, nothing has been done. VERY POOR DESIGN!

IPod the Gold Series from Whirlpool appliances including the French door with the freezer on the bottom the induction still two ovens and glass top the microwave in the dishwasher does it cost me about $8,900 dubstep problem with it is after two-and-a-half years of using it the freezer stopped working and coming to find out that not only mine but three other ones in my account have the same problem. The sealed system for the freezer had a leak in it. I lost the freezer traffic to Whirlpool. First time around they said, "No problem we'll take care of the part." To take care of Labor. I waited a month. Nothing happened. I called them back. They said I needed to do something else so I waited for it to happen. Nothing happened. Now I call back 8 weeks later without a refrigerator my house come to find out they told me they're not doing nothing.

Well four weeks later now I'm sitting with the stove which cost me quite a bit of money like $2,000 for the induction stove. Now it's burned out the computer components. Control panels are both out. It will cost $800 to repair it. Now we'll pull. Said they will also pay for parts for that but not for the labor so now I'm stuck without a refrigerator and I don't have a stove in my house and they're saying it's okay that these very expensive piece of equipment that I bought and it's okay for them to only last 2 years. Never had a Whirlpool last me less than 10. I think there's something wrong with this picture.
