I've heard of Viking for years because my son-in-law builds very high-end homes, and I know that at times they use Viking appliances. We bought our Viking refrigerator through Best Buy, and the reps there were fabulous. This fridge was on display at Best Buy when I was there. The reps said that normally Viking refrigerators aren't on the Best Buy floor, but this fridge had been returned because it had a slight dent in it and the customer wouldn't accept it. One of the big reasons that I bought this fridge was the counter depth, and that was key.

We ordered our Viking refrigerator back in October, but we've been under construction all this time and we just finally got it put in. We've only been using it for about three weeks to a month. The quality of the fridge that we got is good. I like the brightness and how the doors open very fully. However, the only complaint I have right now with it is about the ice in the container in the freezer. Sometimes, the container overfills and when you open it, it pops the ice out down into the bottom. Nevertheless, I had a good experience overall with Viking.

Like many of the reviews here, our Viking French Door fridge was a lemon and so is the new one that showed up after 6 months of service calls and spoiled food. I have now heard from a service person and the appliance delivery men that I am not alone in my issues, which are detailed by many other reviews here. I have wasted 16+ hours of my life talking to Viking and waiting for service calls. Not to mention the $100s of lost due to spoiled food from the freezing in the back of the fridge. The fact that ice spills out onto the floor every time I open the freezer is a design flaw I could have lived with, but this is unacceptable. Built my entire kitchen around this fridge and now I need to figure out how to replace it. Do yourself a favor - the reviews are true - don't buy this fridge. Viking knows its refrigerator is defective, but keep selling it.

We have Dacor Appliances and we bought the Viking Refrigerator to match them. The guys who delivered it were great and the refrigerator is pretty good. We're happy with our refrigerator and we like how it beeps. That's cool especially if we open it. We like how it looks inside, that we can really stack stuff and that the freezer has a lot of room compared to our other fridge.

However, we hear a little noise from it and we're having issues with the second shelf for the frozen fruit because we open it a lot. It comes off the unit itself so we had to put some ties on it. And every time we pull it open, it kind of sticks, so we got to push that back to get to the bottom part. Also, we always have a hard time sealing it. Every day we have to push the seal out to make sure it's sealed. There was a really nice guy who came out, looked at it, and took the back panel off that covers the vents at the very back of the freezer for it to shut properly and be sealed. Once that back panel came off, the drawer was able to shut better somehow. That part is on order and he said he'll get back to us but we have not heard from him for a while. Hopefully, he'll come back and get the vent back on. And he took the ties off but we put them back on because the drawer keeps falling apart.

We also put a couple of things in the long drawer on the top part and they froze so we got to watch that. But the two drawers on the right and left seem to be working well. This refrigerator cost a lot of money and we don't know if it's worth $4,000. But it's so far so good. Once everything’s fixed, we're satisfied. We learned how to shut the shelf properly and we get it now that if we don't shut it right, it gets stuck up.

Less than five months ago I purchased all new appliances for my kitchen. I wanted a reputable brand that would last for years to come. Viking is a name you hear and immediately think "high-end." Their appliances fit my style perfectly, simple yet classy-looking, so I took the plunge and ordered myself an entire Viking kitchen, not a cheap decision but my kitchen is MY space, so I splurged.

My stainless steel refrigerator (double door on top, pull-out freezer on bottom) has been constant problems for me. I'm actually not fond of any of my appliances but the others have been overlooked due to such shockingly poor quality of my refrigerator. First, the ice machine works completely randomly... one day a full tub of ice, the next nothing. Next, in less than three months time a shelving frame has completely cracked all the way through, and there is hardly any weight on it at all. Now, the produce drawers are sagging inwards and I do not trust the shelves in the least. It seems like it is constantly something with the unit. I had hoped to love my new kitchen but now I'm so upset that, for the money I spent, I do not have appliances I can be proud to show off.

Viking Refrigerators is the best range that’s out there. I purchased from them because I chose products that are going to match my kitchen. However, I haven’t used the refrigerator because I’ve had some considerable problems with it. It’s not been fixed yet. It was shipped from a distributor in New York and apparently it wasn’t configured for altitude despite telling them that I live in Denver. It’s plugged in and running, but I have pools of water in vegetable drawers and there is a ticking noise that’s happening with it. It’s that bad. It’s been this way for six weeks, so I am not overly happy with that, especially not after paying $4,000 for a refrigerator.

When I called Viking, they were as expected. They got the refrigerator repair company out. I’ve been working with the repairman and he’s been great. He has to order parts but there’s some feedback or manufacturer recall with the piece and so the repairman is waiting for a new piece now. He hasn’t been able to figure out whatever ticking noise there is, so it sounds like a time bomb in my kitchen. I’ve been talking to a lot of people but nobody has been able to fix my refrigerator.

The dishwasher and range have not been installed yet, but the range came damaged. I don’t know if it’s the distributor or the shipping company. The range hasn’t been set up yet, but I can’t seem to find the legs that were supposed to come with it. But Viking has been pretty responsive. A lot of the issue lies with the distributor. I wish I had not given them $16,000 worth of business. They have not been helpful. There were supposed to be rebates, but they wouldn’t process. It was like pulling teeth to get them to give the discount when you buy multiple Viking products. It’s been a disaster with them. I could not recommend the product and the distributor. Why would a refrigerator that has a known defect still be sold in the market?

I've had Viking products before and I heard about the Viking refrigerator from friends and people who've had Viking appliances. My son-in-law works for a company that's owned by Viking, so I got the friends-and-family deal, and it was a great deal. I like the French doors. In fact, this is the only slide-in refrigerator that Viking makes, and it was perfect for my kitchen that's relatively small. I just couldn't justify going up to a commercial grade refrigerator with a small kitchen. I also love the components of the freezer units. There are different areas where I can freeze things. It's very compact and efficient.

I had a few questions regarding the refrigerator and the rep pointed out how to do the adjustments. I had called the Viking headquarters in Tennessee and asked for a hard copy version of the manual, even though it's available online, but I never received it. That's an oversight on their part, but I should just go ahead and print out the manual off of the internet. But other than that, I'm very happy with the refrigerator. It's great. It's perfect for my needs and it's a good-looking refrigerator, too.

We bought a brand new house and all the appliances were Viking. The original refrigerator that was discontinued was really substandard in the sense that the design was flawed. The freezer is at the bottom half so anything that tumbled from the refrigerator fell on the freezer and the freezer frame was dented. It kept getting dented. I wasn't very happy with the quality so I had to replace that with the model that came about after it was discontinued. I was trying to replace the bottom freezer and I called their parts department and one was better, but the other was charging me $2,000 just for the bottom freezer while a new model costs $3,500. There's just no recourse as far as their customer service.

In addition, somebody recognized that the design was flawed, so they changed it. The freezer frame was no longer stainless steel. It was very very hard plastic and it didn't jut out anymore. So, it's horrible that such a design was at all created. There was no quality control. We then got a new refrigerator from Best Buy and they were pretty good except for the delivery that had so much bumbling all over the place. The first people who delivered it didn't know how to handle refrigerators because the foot was dented. I'm very dissatisfied with all the Viking appliances we had and I'm never going to recommend Viking ever.

We just built a new home and I went to different stores who carried all the brands, and my first choice was Viking after researching all of the products on the market. Even though the products are high-end, they have a very good lifespan and not a whole lot of repair maintenance necessary. The first thing that drew me in looking at Viking was their French oven. I’m a bit older and don’t like anything over my head anymore or high up or difficult to get in and out of an oven. The Viking French oven was just what I was looking for. David, who wasn't a Viking rep directly, was very helpful and knowledgeable. I heard from him that Viking has 42-inch refrigerators instead of 48. I'm very happy with the quality of the refrigerator. It's excellent. I like that the door beeps when I've left it open too long.

The only concern I have is that I have a $1,000 rebate because I purchased the whole package. That was one of the promotions at that time but it seems the only way that I can recoup my rebate is to go on the computer but I'm a bit elderly and I don't do the computer as well as I should. It has been difficult for me to get that going and I wish we had a phone rep that I could call. I wish they offer an option that would be more suitable to some of us who are not as computer-savvy as 90% of the world. Other than that, I’ve been very pleased with my experience.

We bought a brand new house and all the other appliances there were Viking. We didn't want the refrigerator to be different and we had heard mostly good stuff about Viking, so we thought that getting a Viking refrigerator would be the best way to go, although we had a Samsung refrigerator at our other house. Viking appliances are high quality, but unfortunately their prices are usually out of our range, so we got the least expensive one that we could find. I also didn't want a water dispenser any longer, like what we have with our other refrigerator, so this one was perfect.

We like our Viking refrigerator a lot. I like how it has the filter for the refrigerator itself. I also like the ice maker and dispenser. When I did my research on the Viking refrigerator, there were comments about the ice maker that were not positive, but it hasn't been a problem for us. It doesn't have an automatic shutoff, but we go to our refrigerator at least once a day, and we can just turn it off when we see that it's full, so it's not a big deal to me.

I've seen Viking refrigerators in different rental properties we've been in and also, some friends have had it. We've always had different brands like Westinghouse and KitchenAid and we thought we wanted to step it up a little. We got a Viking and I love it. It looks very nice and the size is beautiful. We've never had a freezer on the bottom and a double door before. Also, we never had an ice maker before so it's very exciting. Viking is a beautiful product and I'm very happy with it. I would definitely buy them again.

We've had Viking in the past and the Viking refrigerator was in the house when we bought it. It was a new Viking, so we registered it. It's probably the model that was chosen, but to not be able to have water in the door is difficult. When I open the door and want to pull out that longer middle drawer, I can't without opening both doors. And if I want to pull out the right side drawer, I can't do that either without opening the door. There's nothing I can do about the shelving or the way the drawers is pulled out. So, it isn't really all that convenient. We cook all the time and it's difficult to arrange the refrigerator. A Sub-Zero is a better refrigerator for us.

Also, we're used to having a gas range, so I'm not familiar with having electric. The rangetop doesn’t heat quickly and when I turn it off, it doesn’t turn off quickly either. So, it's really a challenge to get it figured out on how long do I cook something. And the oven, too. It’s not calibrated properly. So what I normally would cook in 20 minutes takes closer to 30 minutes. I would not recommend Viking to a friend. The dishwasher is the same thing. Those are expensive appliances and I am not that thrilled with any of them.

We have had a Viking french door refrigerator installed since November 2016. First the ice in the freezer spills out behind the drawers not allowing the freezer door to always close completely, or the ice spills out over our wood floor when we open the door. We have had frozen food ruined and continuously have to dig behind the drawers and remove ice. Then ice began forming in the regular refrigerator drawers. A repairman has been out twice and says he is awaiting parts. Why he did not identify the need for the parts the first time he was out, I don't know. The refrigerator is a lemon and should be replaced. It has not run correctly since we bought it. Photo of serial number attached.

The Viking refrigerator was in the home when we purchased it, and we're now on our third fridge. The first one stopped working. I contacted Trail Appliances where it was purchased and they ignored me. So then, I had to contact Viking directly in Quebec, which is Brigade, and they advised me that the fridge was unrepairable. So then, we waited three months and then we got a new one.

After that, our second fridge lasted 23 months, and then it started to melt and the housing cracked. So, I phoned Viking again and they sent a service guy out. This took a couple of weeks, which is a joke, because they don't have anybody locally that knows what to do. So, I waited another couple of weeks for those guys who said that the second fridge was also unrepairable. So, all in all, we've waited almost four months without a fridge because there wasn't one available in North America.

Then we were away for a couple of months, and now we've come back. We got our third fridge just before we left, and we turned it on when we got home here a couple of weeks back. But this third fridge never shuts off, so there's another problem with it. I haven't phoned Viking yet because I'm at my wit's end with it. The customer service reps were responsive and the fellow that's in charge of their marketing, Daniel, was quite good and does everything in his power, but this issue with the Viking refrigerator is so screwed up that it's just unbelievable.

My husband bought the Viking dishwasher and he wanted a matching appliance. We did the purchasing through ABT and they’re great. We think that Viking is a good brand and it looks nice. We got the French doors and set it side by side, like our old KitchenAid which was there when we bought the house. Our Viking refrigerator is fine, but the clips that hold down the racks in the freezer keep coming off from day one when we haven't had it for very long, six months at most. ABT came out last week but they never did anything about the clips. So I told my husband to make sure to ask them about it when they come back out. We’ve called ABT to have that corrected. We're waiting for them to call back.

There's also one minor thing. Most refrigerators have feet you can adjust if it needs to go up or down an inch. Viking doesn't have that. We have a two-inch gap at the top of the refrigerator, between the old cabinets and refrigerator. They were able to adjust the KitchenAid to go up to it and with the Viking, you can’t. But I liked the style of the French doors and those big shelves and big, perfect trays.

I first purchased from Viking Refrigerators three years ago. First one was defective. The replacement I got cost $5000 which is no small sum. I also had to pay another $500 to have the second one installed. But it had multiple problems with the computer part of it maintaining the temperature. I lost thousands of dollars of food because of that. It took a week to get somebody out here then, they came out, diagnosed it and said they had to order a part. It was another three or four days and I've received no kind of compensation. Swapped it for a brand new unit a couple of months ago which they did as complimentary. But money is not the point here, it’s the inconvenience.

I’m on the third fridge and we had to have it repaired because the ice maker wasn't working. Then, we just had another problem. The drip tray didn’t drain appropriately so water backed up underneath my new kitchen cabinets and it's warped my wood floors. We’ve sent pictures and haven’t heard anything back but they've scheduled to repair it. This is then a nightmare and expensive. It's also inconvenient to me and I have a family so we can't live without a refrigerator and freezer. The customer service up until the point we got Kenneth involved, the guy we’ve been working with lately, has been awful. Nothing has been done. If I could, I would just return it and I would go with a totally different company because of this awful experience. Viking is supposed to be a top of the line product on the market.

I've known about Viking Refrigerators for a long time. We purchased a home recently that had a built-in refrigerator and it had a sub-zero that was not working. I went over to Best Buy to check some stuff out. I knew they had the Pacific Home in there so I went in and got the Viking fridge. We had a rocky start because when they came and delivered it, the refrigeration door was approximately a half an inch lower than the freezer door. And there was no adjusting it. They had to basically come out, take the door off, put some spacers underneath the one side to level it out and get it all to work right, which is pretty frustrating for a $12,000 refrigerator.

At first, Best Buy said, "Well, you're gonna have to call Viking." and I said, "I'm not gonna call anybody. I bought it from you so you guys can figure it out or you can come pick up your refrigerator and I'll buy from somebody else." And they figured it out. The lady I talked with at the dealership was very helpful. When she wasn't available the day that I called and there was an issue, she called me the next day. She also called me after the follow up when they came out and fixed it to make sure everything is okay and did a great job.

Everything is great. I do like that all the shelving on the doors is all metal instead of the flimsy plastic. We have a separate ice maker so we don’t really use the one inside of it too much. It doesn't seem to hold a lot so if that was our only ice maker, that would probably be a downside for us. Overall, the refrigerator is very solid. We're looking to hopefully buy an in-wall oven and a dishwasher from Viking soon.

I saw Viking in model homes and magazines and I went with the brand because of the name alone and the look of the product. The refrigerator itself is a great-looking product but the ice maker is a real deal-breaker. My wife and I use quite a bit of ice on any given day but the ice maker produces only one small layer each night. In comparison, my old KitchenAid filled up with ice every single night. I bought the Viking refrigerator from Pacific Sales so when my icemaker unit stopped working after the initial tray of ice, I called them. I came to find out they don't service Viking products and I had to call Viking myself. When I did that, Viking said they'll send someone out through Executive Appliance to service the icemaker. It was nice that they serviced it, but the icemaker still puts out a slow amount.

The refrigerator is part of a condo that I bought. It was a brand new condo so the builder bought all the appliances. The ice maker froze the drawer to the back of the refrigerator so I couldn’t get it opened, and when I did, it was just a solid block of ice. The builder told me that they use the Viking repair service, which is a third party and so I had them come out. After three attempts, they finally determined it was the filter, which was unusual since it was brand new. They replaced the filter and then they charged me $220 for that. I had to go to battle with the developer and it went back to the appliance supplier who apparently went back to Viking. Supposedly Viking is sending me a track for that but I haven’t seen it yet.

The repair guy came out three times and every time he was there, he would have less than three hours to pull the ice maker apart three times and put it back together. Now it works but it wobbles and I’m just going to deal with that because I don’t have time to invest in any more repairs. Overall it's been disappointing and time-consuming.

Our Viking Refrigerator came with the house when we moved in over a year ago. We've only been here for three years and it's making a noise for about a year and a half now, but I have to get it fixed since we were going to move. One of the motors is starting to go out, and somebody was here about three and a half weeks ago and is scheduled to come back next week. I called them when we were still settling the issue and they were helpful, but it took them almost four weeks to get the part, which I think is completely and extremely ridiculous. I had a General Electric refrigerator at my previous place in downtown Chicago for seven years and I never had any issues. So I'm not so impressed with Viking at all. It was not our first choice, absolutely not right now.

We hooked it up and then it had another problem. When I called in with problems, they were good about helping to get somebody to look at it. I had two different Viking certified people come out to work on it and they took it quickly apart, defrost it totally and then put it back together and say my drip pan wasn't lined up properly. Both times someone came it cost me $800 each and the second time I decided to just replace it because it'll be cheaper in the long run.

When I got the new one, the door seal on it would not seal. We travel a lot and we come back home and see that there would be rust inside our brand-new refrigerator. It took three times to get somebody to figure out the problem and fix it and had it slamming shut. We're loving it now. It’s great. The new lighting is so bright and pretty and I really like it. The fridge isn't pretty when you open it up and you see this $9,000 refrigerator with rust inside it, but it's still a good deal.

I like that it keeps the vegetables fresh although this wonderful refrigerator does not have one of those little twist-in filters. Even the way it's set up, you can't put an inline filter because it's built-in and you can't get to it. There's not enough room at the bottom.

We re-did our whole kitchen and I knew what kind of fridge I wanted in advance so we custom built the kitchen around the fridge and all the other appliances. We bought everything Viking except for the microwave and the drawer. We had the refrigerator delivered and then we had a professional Viking authorized installer install it. Ever since the fridge was delivered and installed, the freezer door was not lined up with the bottom of the fridge so it would never close and seal properly. It would always bang on the side and I always have to shift it over before I close it.

Our installer told us that from the beginning, the refrigerator was defective. Viking suggested a couple of vendors to come look at it. Both companies said it was the installation and they changed the tracks on it. One said it was the tracks and then that didn't fix the problem inside the fridge. And then the ice machine wouldn't stop making ice so we turned it off. It didn't have a sensor to stop it.

The refrigerator had a multitude of problems and Viking wanted to pass the buck and deny the real issue. So we lived with it for six months and then I called my attorney. I spent 10 grand and I know what my rights are. And then as soon as I did that, all of a sudden Viking said they're going to get me a new fridge. But it was a disappointing experience that I had to spend a lot of time and go through a lot of headaches.

I built my dream kitchen and ended up getting a lemon. I had eight visits on the fridge over a period of a month. The installer is Viking certified and I made sure I reached the right company. Thank God I did 'cause they were the only ones in my corner. The ones that Viking picked said nothing's wrong with the fridge. It was crazy 'cause it's a blatant denial of responsibility. Finally, I called my attorney and let him deal with it. I don't have time to keep calling, waiting on hold, emailing this person, and going to my house to let people in.

Also, it's definitely not good business when I'm buying a luxury item. I could have went to Home Depot and bought a fridge for $700 that would have achieved basic functionality that this fridge cannot achieve. I saved all the money, worked for 10 years before I bought a house that I'll be in for a long time and I've spent 75 grand in a kitchen renovation and the fridge doesn't work. The replacement fridge was basic but it was nice. The lighting is bright, and cool how it is illuminated. Although they replaced the fridge with a new one, Viking didn't do anything for me. I didn't have an operable fridge for six months and I had to inconvenience myself with my time to go fix it all. I will not ever buy a Viking again.

We like Viking's brand and the way it looks in the kitchen. The refrigerator is great. All the controls are on the left side of the door, and it's easy to program everything else. It's wide so it's easy access in and out. I like the different drawers and the accessibility to the refrigeration part. Plus, you can adjust the temperature and humidity. The wide shelf space also makes it very convenient. Overall, it’s been easy, manageable, and it sits perfectly in our kitchen.

We bought a home with an Italian Fhiaba refrigerator. We had a lot of problems with it and we had to replace it. It cannot be repaired and we only had a certain amount of money that the manufacturer had given us to purchase another refrigerator. The Viking was on sale and that's why I purchased it. It was not my first choice though. The drawers for produce, meats and cheese storage bins are so cheap and I was shocked at the interior for a Viking product. I was sad to lose my Italian refrigerator which was well-made and had beautiful interiors. I would not have bought the Viking refrigerator but it was at the right price, so I ended up with it. But would I buy another one? Absolutely not.

We purchased a completely renovated home, and all the appliances were Vikings. The six-burner gas stove and the microwave are all okay, and they work great. But I would not recommend the refrigerator. When I knew I had to replace my previous refrigerator, I went onto several websites to read reviews, and very few of them were good. But my husband wasn't going to spend more money because we bought a house with a $10,000 refrigerator that ended up not working after two years.

Even the plastic inside of a Sears Kenmore refrigerator is better. Viking has these soft close drawers for cheese and veggies, which are awful. I have to treat them with kid gloves, because I'm afraid they're going to break on me at any given moment. The company that owns Viking make commercial grade refrigerators and U-Line is one of their products. It's an amazing refrigerator. Why don't they use some of the same materials? Viking has been synonymous with high-end quality. But they really fell short on this one. Looks good on the outside, poor quality on the inside.

I wanted to get a really good refrigerator that would last a long time. I know Viking's top of the line products and so we've purchased refrigerators from them. Our first one had a water dispenser on the inside of the door. When we tried using the dispenser it wouldn't work as the water line kept freezing up. We ended up getting another refrigerator but a different model without a water dispenser, which is what we really wanted. The second one worked fine and then it stopped making ice. A service guy came out five times, replaced the ice maker twice, replaced the track twice and he said the water line was fine but he couldn't understand why it's not making ice. So hopefully, this third refrigerator's a charm. I hope it stays working and it seems to be fine. It makes some weird noises sometimes. It probably has something to do with the water line and the connection for the ice maker. But other than that, it's producing ice. So far, so good.

So, overall, a good product but I had to replace it after eight years. I'm happy with the new one, but we had problems with the retailer, Best Buy. I was in real estate for some time. I’m into remodeling and I love interior design, so I’m aware of Viking Refrigeration. We just redid our entire kitchen and put all new Viking appliances, everything from oven to a huge cooktop to the refrigerator, downdraft, the dishwasher, and I am not overly pleased with the refrigerator. I called Viking directly and they sent somebody out and repaired a couple of the things that were wrong with the refrigerator. But the main problem that I still have, which is something that I need to make another phone call on, is the ice maker.

The refrigerator is a French door with an under mount freezer and when I pull open the freezer door, the little metal handle that comes down to regulate when the ice maker is on and off almost rakes the ice. And so, it all falls out through the back of the freezer. I have to literally army crawl and break my arm to get my hands at the back to clear out the ice that’s fallen at the back on the floor of the freezer or else the freezer door does not close properly. I wonder how many tens of thousands of dollars did I spend on all those appliances. I should have gone back to my GE Profile. I’ve been really disappointed.

The refrigerator was packaged well. The wall preparation information for this cabinet depth model was not accurate in that one of the two bolts used for anti-tipping did not reach the block on the wall. Dimensions given were not correct for the block (2x4) installation. The refrigerator holds temperature very precisely and the interior LED lighting is terrific. Shelves adjust nicely and so do the drawer units. All shelves and cubbies in the door adjust nicely. The one objection we have is that the refrigerator is quite noisy as refrigerators go. Even the owner's manual mentions the whirring and other sounds that the unit makes. For a product that costs this much, one would think that it could be quieter. We will just have to get used to it!!

Viking went well with the house I was remodeling. We replaced a pretty old refrigerator, and I like Viking better. I also like the temperature control feature. But the dealer and the delivery company were jerks. They were just opportunistic and cutthroat. Their business practices were if you don’t say something, it's your fault for not asking and you got it. Basically, the kind of person I'd never recommend to deal with again. I told the delivery company, “Typically, bring a small van 'cause you can't get up of my drive way.” The idea was to get the van, instead of a 40-foot or 24-foot semi tractor trailer. And they said it was my fault.

They refused to redeliver it, so I called the people who sold it to me and said, “Hey, this is crazy. I told you ahead to have a small van, and the delivery company that you paid to do it is refusing. They said not only they're not gonna help me, but if I didn’t pick it up in the next two days, they were gonna start charging me for storage.” They pointed the contract clause and said that it has to be deliverable by a full size truck. It didn’t matter if I said something on the phone to them. The contract clause specifically go down the detail, black and white and I was at fault. Therefore, they were not gonna help me. So it's pretty bad. But we managed to get it home because my nephew had a pickup truck, so we picked it up. I bought every single Viking thing in my house online from different places, but this is the first time I've had that problem. I've never had any problem with the equipment itself. Viking itself is fine, but everybody else did a bad job.

My granddaughter's school had Viking appliances. I talked with the people that run the facility there and asked them what they thought of the Viking and how it worked. They convinced me that it was definitely worth it.

All of my kitchen appliances are Viking and I wanted to register for all of the warranties. I went to the Viking website and it would not allow me to do that. Then I was having an issue with the dishwasher, and I couldn’t find in the book to correct it. I ended up having to call the repair personnel to get out of the mode as it went into an error code. I had to schedule an appointment and then it took a couple of weeks for them to get here. I also asked the gentleman to help me register the appliances for warranty and he did that. I gave him the information and he was very helpful. For the money that I spent on this kitchen, I expected a concierge service.

But I'm pretty much pleased with it. It's pretty good and right now, it seems to fit my needs. I like the way the doors are softly closed in the refrigerator. It's good and it's a little larger than the standard size. I also like the ice dispenser. I would like the water dispenser but then that would be an additional cost. Overall, I'm well satisfied and I would definitely recommend it to a friend.

I'm not very happy with any of my Viking appliances that I got with my house. I used to live in California where I had all the Viking high-end appliances and they were great. Then, I moved here in Washington and the builder offered to put Viking for me and they were the most basic model of appliances. Originally, it wasn't Viking that's in our home and I wanted to switch out the dishwasher. The builder said, "I ordered 28 sets of appliances for my other projects and I have one set extra 'cause I only needed 27. I can put that in your house." I agreed because it's Viking and I've had them in the past, but I didn't get to see what models they were or pick which one it is.

The refrigerator was so poorly-made and it got dents on the freezer drawer. I was showing a guy the dents of my refrigerator. He said, "That actually wasn't made by Vikings. It's all Whirlpool stuff in there." I was like, "That explains it." Also, my stove didn't work right, and I had to have a plumber and a dishwasher guy come over to fix my dishwasher. These appliances are only three years old and we don't abuse them. We run them properly and keep them clean. I felt suspicious of the place where my builder bought my appliances from. I wonder if they gave him leftover or rejected batches because it seems that my appliances are and that store is closed down now. However, I like the double doors because I've never had that before and so then I could open just one side to get my things out. Given that, I would recommend Viking in general but people should buy the highest end since the low-end ones aren't that great.

We have a Viking refrigerator/freezer model VCBB5361RSS and have had nothing but trouble. Here is a list of the repairs we've had to do (lost $100s in fresh food THREE times over two years): To be scheduled: Replace rubber seal in freezer - cost circa $200. March 22, 2017: DC fan for fresh food compartment (had to throw out all fresh food) - cost circa $400. Oct. 15, 2016: Ice maker replaced arm and wire harness. Sept. 1, 2016: Air duct heater kit installed; changed and drain probe. March 29, 2016: Drain was frozen; water leaking; defrosted drain (had to throw out all fresh food). June 15, 2015: Replaced DC fan in refrigerator section (had to throw out all fresh food).

Not only is the device of extremely poor quality (never, ever, needed service on non-Viking refrigerators in my life), the customer service experience has also been absolutely terrible. Half of the time I get ignored completely. The customer service person ** mostly doesn't respond. One time she told me to write a letter to customer service because we just lost $100s of dollars in fresh food to a malfunction of the refrigerator and she said that was the only route left for me after emailing with her. I spent two hours writing a letter. Got a letter back from... the customer service person. I had to laugh, that's how terrible the customer service is. I also contacted Viking via Facebook - Facebook says Viking normally responds within the hour. Guess what? Nothing. I guess complaints just get ignored. I'm like invisible to this company.

The couple times I saw the Viking rep, he was very pleasant and it was so nice that he could call the company to get right in with somebody to troubleshoot problem. It was really good that they offer that so I know I wasn't relying on one person with very limited knowledge as to what they have.

The refrigerator was doing well but there was a lot of noise in the beginning. I took a peek on the top for some vibration and I read in the instructions 22 screws go in there. Once those were put in the noise went away. Also, the quality control needed some help. In the freezer the sensor at the bottom of the door was installed backwards. They had several visits but they couldn't figure out what was wrong with it. And they finally got it, had to order in a part and then we had ice. But other than that, they have been great. Right now, I'm super happy with them. I love the size and quality of the ice cubes. They fit right in my water bottles. The freezer doesn't defrost so much every time that the ice sticks together. They put one in one week and immediately it went before Christmas day. We've been waiting and waiting and waiting, and a new icemaker came yesterday. And after 2 months, the icemaker decided to start working.

This is a very sick refrigerator. I had a Sub-Zero refrigerator before and it was wonderful. But on my Viking refrigerator, every time I close the door, it dumps ice on the floor. The repairman said yesterday “Well, all refrigerators do that.” But my Sub-Zero didn’t. I was led to believe that Viking was a better appliance than the Wolf packages, but it's not. I am very disappointed in what I thought was gonna be a very good product. And another thing was I've had to ask for books to operate it. We had a different refrigerator brand before where one side of the door was the refrigerator and the other side was the freezer. My wife wanted a refrigerator with compartments up on the top and the freezer section on the bottom and she decided that the Viking Refrigerator was the best product for what we needed.

We use the top part of the refrigerator the most. The only thing that we noticed was that sometimes the top section of the freezer door gets foggy. When the ice tray was full, we stopped using it and we noticed some condensation right around the top section of the door to the freezer and the top of the stainless steel section. Otherwise, the refrigerator is good. We got a product that's delivering what we were looking for. We're overall satisfied.

We've had our Viking Refrigerator running for about a month and a half now and we love it. The dealer had an excellent display of the various Viking appliances that was really most helpful to us. We bought the double-door model and I really like it. It's working very well, has no issues, nice and quiet, all the compartments are useful, and it's pretty. We love the way it's lined up and I love the freezer on the bottom because that means my head doesn't bump at the handle if the freezer was on top.

The refrigerator was not working for over two weeks (totally dead - no cooling in the freezer and the main refrigerator compartment) while Viking and its local repair service went back and forth on resolving the subject. It was quickly apparent that Viking keeps an arms length distance from such issues. Also apparent is that the local repair does not keep Viking parts in their inventory for repair purposes. Repairman said the refrigerator was shipped from the factory with improper soldering of tubes. After several visits and re-soldering of tubes, the refrigerator again worked. However the repairman said if unit stops working again that is could no longer be repaired - in other words, a dead inoperable appliance. Top dollar was paid for an appliance which at the end of the day was of shoddy quality, and not properly addressed by Viking under its own warranty. Inexcusable.

Unfortunately after 2 1/2 years you did have a sealed system issue and while this is an uncommon issue it is not unheard of and we were able to correct thru the warranty.

Best Buy didn't showcase the Viking more so than a GE or Frigidaire. It was whatever the customer’s preference was. They didn’t say one-upmanship over the other and the reason why one would be better than the other. But, I liked the look of Viking Refrigerators. I had it a little over a month now and it's been good. The cost seems fair, although I'm not happy right now. I am trying to contact the Viking rep because it was missing three of the inside doors. Not the doors where you put the milk inside but the bins that hook on the inside of the door.

I've contacted Best Buy and they said that they have called the Viking rep but the rep hasn't returned their calls yet. Best Buy said that they had to go through the Viking rep because they were simply missing when we got the unit and I'm not sure if they disappeared. It was funny because when I bought the ref, they said that the bins should be in any day now and that was the end of January. It's now the middle of March and the bins themselves shouldn't take that long to order or to get installed. So, if I had my three bins where the milk and the juice fit into, it would be perfect.

We previously had a Sub-Zero refrigerator and we love it. We had the long handles with the furniture door front on it. My wife wanted to have something that evoked that look. We knew that we did not want to go for Sub-Zero appliances again in this remodel in Florida so we went with the Viking refrigerator because there was a point price differential and it was attractive. Plus, the gas stove was decent, too. However, our problem with the refrigerator has been directed towards the cosmetics.

The skin is just ridiculously thin and every door that we had delivered had dents in it. In the light, you can clearly see the dents and there are also obvious manufacturing issues such as the bottom freezer door. The top lift of it has the same three dings on the upper lift, through every door that we've seen in the same spot, so it's clear that there is something on the assembly line that ticks these door fronts up and moves them along the line. My wife went online and spoke with somebody at the local Viking place down here. The authorized Viking dealer where we bought it and we dealt with has been wonderful and the refrigerator is working fine. But it's just so aggravating to look at the refrigerator and see these little reflections off of dents and it really makes it look like not a quality product.

My friend told me to not buy a Viking refrigerator and I didn’t listen because I like the look of it. It's a beautiful refrigerator and it was supposed to be the best refrigerator. It doesn't take a lot of electricity and it keeps your produce well. I bought the side by side so I also have the freezer. When I purchase my refrigerator from Pacific Sales, they said it would take three to five weeks to get it. However, it took four months. I was without a kitchen for four months because of them. Then when I got the refrigerator, it started leaking water. So they came four times to try to repair it then they said that I have to wait for a part. I waited for the part for eight months. They came with the part, put it in and of course, it didn't stop leaking.

We decided to get a new refrigerator and when they came over and replaced it, sure enough, the same thing happened with the refrigerator. They sent somebody to put something in the bottom of the fridge, so now I don't see the water but it's there. It's a piece of metal that accumulates the water. When I put my hand in there, it's full of water. Also, when I close the door, it's making a noise. The freezer also had an issue with the ice maker and they had to replace that too. Hopefully, I'm not gonna have an issue in two years when I don't have the warranty anymore. I wouldn't recommend anybody to buy Viking.

In 1208 we had a total kitchen remodel and with retirement approaching this would be a final remodel. I always had my heart set on Viking because I had looked for two years and felt it had all I had dreamed of and was within reach cost wise. Unfortunately I have had numerous heartbreaking and costly repairs. In the time since purchase we have replaced three ice makers, door hinges, door seal, and thermostat and now the control panels need replaced because the freezer goes into defrost in the middle of the night. The first time this happened it shot water out the door and flooded the new floor causing damage to the laminate but we could not get good pictures to prove damage. The repair would have needed a third of the floor replaced. Then because of the defrosting there has been costly loss of food, meat, fruit, and frozen veggies. There has been approximately one thousand dollars spent on repair.

Then with the stove the door hinges broke and had to be replaced and it has never baked as they claim. I don't feel the convection works right. The food has to be continually rotated or it burns and the service people have checked and said everything was in spec. Doubtful. Last but not least the dishwasher was not cleaning properly and had to have a valve replaced. I can't believe that I'm the only one with such experience and with the supposed reputation that Viking has. Something needs to be done about such poor manufacturing and quality. I personally will never recommend Viking to anyone and will quickly point out all the faults I have encountered. What I thought would be a dream come true has been one big nightmare. NEVER VIKING.

I've bought three refrigerators all at once because it was after Katrina. One was for my son, one was for my daughter, and one was for myself. I also bought the freezer, the ice maker, and the wine cooler. My son had to buy another house and they already had a refrigerator in there so I still have a freezer in the garage. It's not even out of the carton so I'm hoping it will work.

I love my new Viking refrigerator though. It's wonderful and gorgeous. I've had a couple of little issues with it, but they were rapidly fixed. The heater wasn't working, and so the water was going all over the floor, but they fixed that. I wrote to the CEO and they replaced the refrigerator four times. The original plus three others. It was a horrendous thing to go through because I had to empty it out and they had to go through my living room to bring the refrigerator into the kitchen. It was a mess, and that was done three more times.

However, I'm seeing problems with my ice maker and it just sits silently under the counter for the last two and a half years. It was installed in 2007, and between 2007 and 2010, I've had 13 calls on it, and then I just didn't use it anymore. I'm also disappointed in the ice maker in the sense that I had the wine cooler in the same area and I don't want to get another kind of ice maker because I like the looks of both of them side by side. I wish that could be prepared. But they said it'll need a new grid and that would be $1,395 plus labor. So I said, "Forget that." I'm a happy camper with my new refrigerator, but not with the ice maker. I would be giving my overall opinion of perfect if they would fix the ice maker.

I have a 2008 Viking refrigerator. When it works, it's a little noisy - not overtly, but definitely noticeable when the TV is off. This is not something that I'd expect from a top of the line manufacturer. First, the door was having problems. I looked online and a recall covered it. OK, let's call Viking customer service and get them to ship me the parts. Surprise - they only ship ground. Parts arrived over a month later. This was in December so may be the holiday season didn't help. Again, not something you'd expect from a high end appliance company. If it's a designer brand, I expect prompt service. Next, the freezer stopped working. Well, ok then. So the technician charges me $500 to fix a thermostat. Apparently, he's made the same repair to a dozen refrigerators in my area. Alright, so now everything is good, let's hope it continues for a few years at least. Nope!

In 2 weeks, the freezer didn't work right again. I notice all the ice cream has melted and refrozen but still not hard. The freezer is sitting at 9c when measured with a thermometer. Sigh - take two - threw away all the food. Did I mention that we have a 1 year old and the freezer is used to store baby food and was used to store breast milk that had to be tossed out? To top it off, the technicians that Viking recommends aren't available on short notice. I set an appointment and wait for 2-3 weeks. Great, baby in the house, a very expensive refrigerator that doesn't do something basic that $1000 refrigerators manage to do. So the technician took a look and said the sealed cooling system is leaking through a faulty design.

Apparently there's a pipe in the back of the refrigerator that's sitting at a right angle that gathers condensation. This condensation builds up and corrodes the pipe causing the coolant to leak. So how much is this going to cost me to fix? $2000. Awesome, $2500 to fix basic design flaws. You get properly working, reliable refrigerators for that amount. I'm very strongly considering going for alternative brands. I'm going to contact customer service and check if they'd like to extend their warranty and cover the repairs for something that's a known problem. The technician said there are a dozen homes in my neighborhood that he's seen this exact problem with. Sounds like a general design flaw to me. Hopefully, Viking redeems themselves and covers the cost of repairs including labor and not just some of the parts.

I've already had to have it replaced. It's a brand new machine, and every time I open up the door, the ice falls down. It is horribly designed. They should have figured it out. The ice machine is not one of those where you put a cup into it. It's just like a normal ice machine where one has to open up the door. So every time I open up the door, the ice falls down the back side and then I can't shut the door until I go down on all fours and pull it out from that.

I've been trying to get somebody from Viking to help me for about two and a half months now and I'm not happy. Within a matter of two days, I had all four drawers of my refrigerator completely break. The top two where I put cheese and ham, cracked all the way across the plastic. The bottom ones are absolutely broken and shattered in pieces. It must be a plastic piece that goes around it that is cracked. And apparently, there is a bolt that goes in the door that stops it from swinging open when I open it, and that broke too. Now, when I open the door, it swings into the double oven and the handles of the double oven have now made dents or scratches on the door of the refrigerator.

Right now, I have a towel tied around the double Viking Professional oven handle, my $12,000 refrigerator is completely broken, and I can't even have anybody to come over to my house with this looking like this. No one has gotten back to me. Ferguson has been wonderful and gave me the name of somebody to come out and see what could be done or if it was on a recall list, and that guy that was called wouldn't even come out to the house to look at it. He said there was nothing he could do as I'm not under warranty. I'm really frustrated. It's ridiculous to pay this kind of money and it'd be five years old and all of a sudden it just breaks.

I looked up on the internet to see if anybody else was having those problems, and apparently, there's been a lot of people that had the same problem with the drawers cracking and breaking. The top ones where I put ham and cheese in look bad, but I can still use them. However, the ones at the bottom where I put lettuce, vegetables, and tomatoes, I can't even use. They're in probably about 10 pieces. I talked to customer service and they told me that there was nothing they could do and that to order me four new drawers, it would be about $1,200. Is there somebody else that I can speak to? Nope. That's it. I am really pissed.

Furthermore, in the very beginning, the girl at customer service wouldn't even talk to me because she said I had not registered. I guess I had to register the products with Viking for any call backs and warranties, and until I did that, she wouldn't even talk to me. So I did that. I had to find the receipt from five years ago when we purchased it, with the purchase number and address. Then I called her back and there's nothing they can do. This was after the approved repairman for Viking wouldn't even come out. I said I didn't understand as the reason that we purchased Viking is we assumed that they would stand behind their product. They said they do, but it does not feel like that for me.

However, I feel like I have a refrigerator that I could have bought from a Home Depot. I could have gotten LG or the GE. Six months after owning it, the drawer broke. I've got older kids and we're not abusive to our refrigerator, but actually, it worked out better. It's easier not having the flap on the door that broke, so we kept it that way. My ice maker broke about three months ago too.

We have had the refrigerator for two years and I've been dealing with repairs, which has been going on now for a couple of weeks because it takes a couple of weeks to get somebody out and he just came. Now, it's taking three weeks to order parts. And so the name, Viking Refrigerators, sounds terrible. It looks prestigious but I don't feel that I have any type of better quality appliance than if I had gone with a different brand. It hasn't done anything exceptional. I bought it for the prestige that comes behind Viking, but as far as the refrigerator, and even the stove top, microwave, and oven that I got, I feel that it's exactly what I would have gotten with any other brand.

I put in a gourmet kitchen so I wanted the best appliance, and since Viking is a well-known brand, I then got a refrigerator from them. We purchased it at Ferguson in Scottsdale and the gal who helped us there, Veronica, was very knowledgeable and she had great suggestions. Also, she knew what she was doing and I appreciated her input on appliances. I had a Sub-Zero one time, which I hated and I tore it up. On the contrary, I love my Viking refrigerator and the freezer. I love that my Viking is big and so spacious, and I like the soft-close drawers in the refrigerator.

Moreover, their customer service is great.

We're purchasing a new house and we wanted to replace all the old appliances with new ones. We've always had other types of refrigeration but since we were also looking at enhancing the resale value of the house, we considered upgrading to Viking for the new home. We've had issues with their refrigerator so we had it replaced. The new refrigerator we received needs a new panel because there were some dents in the delivery, but that is more on the delivery and the installation, rather than the actual product itself. They will be replacing the panels free of charge since it's under warranty but it's a little inconvenient because someone has to be at home. We have to leave for work and we have a baby.

A lot of Viking products, including their refrigeration, are not necessarily standard size or there are certain components that need to be installed properly so it needs a special kind of installation to make sure that they fit. So there's a gap between the retail sale and the actual installation of the product. It ended up being a pain for us in receiving our Viking package because it wasn't installed properly initially and then we had to get the installers. We also ended up waiting from September until January to get the kitchen appliances all right so, my husband and I are now thinking why we didn't go with the higher end LG line that recently came out or some of the higher end Samsung or Bosch appliances or something that’s not necessarily a Viking or Wolf or Jenn-Air, but still in the big-box type chain. We don't know if we would do it again.

I've had a Viking stove for the past 10 years and I was pretty pleased with the product. And I bought a Viking dishwasher because my old dishwasher, that was approximately over 20 years old, went. So, when my built-in refrigerator went as well, I got a Viking refrigerator because I said, "I'm just gonna get a Viking. Everything else is Viking." I got my Viking refrigerator through P. C. Richard. In fact, I bought pretty much all my appliances through them and they've been pretty good.

I love my Viking refrigerator. It's roomy and holds a lot. So far, it's a great product, so I'm happy. I like the fact that the lighting is wonderful. You can see everything that's in it. In addition, I like the way that they have the drawers stacked. I have extra room to put other things in that I couldn't do with my other refrigerator because I had a side-by-side refrigerator then. So, if I had a wide tray, I could never fit it in that other refrigerator. But this one holds everything beautifully. The freezer is a little small, though. It holds a little less than my other refrigerator did but that's okay.

As we were going through various showrooms and appliance stores, we had seen the Viking Refrigerators and looked into them. We chose Viking because we found a refrigerator that was on clearance and it was something that would fit in our space at the time and fulfill our needs. It's working very well. I like the way the upper interior is organized. I also like the sturdiness of the back which is in the lower freezer compartment. We're very happy and satisfied with it. I would it recommend it to a friend.

They have ONLY ONE authorized service rep in ALL of Greater Houston and been that way for years. That rep (K&N) service calls are $128 just to show up (no credit, nothing). Can't blame them. They know they own it. My ice maker door operation quit a long time ago for the 100th time and just gave up.

I go outside to my $100 fridge for ice. Per a previous service tech, Viking broke their relationship with KitchenAid on refrigeration and are using Amana parts and so they are really just starting over and that is obvious. I have called Viking a lot and they just don't care as they know their refrigerators don't work and so why fight gravity. I was an idiot for not reading reviews on this product before I bought because the truth as always been out there.

If we remove the ice maker for a short period the unit may start making ice again. Very frustrating to say the least. We have been patient but our 8 dogs are getting agitated. We had a bad experience with our GE Profile refrigerator. The drawers were flimsy and plastic and I replaced one particular drawer three different times in six years. So we went to our appliance store, looked at our options for refrigerators and see what would physically fit into our existing space. We have Viking stoves and we like them and the gentleman showed us the Viking refrigerator. We liked the way it looked and it fit our space so we bought it. We also liked its vegetable drawer which is much better than the GE. We have a lot of fruits and vegetable in our house and we use the wide drawer for vegetables. We can live with it. However, when the ice maker feature drops in a little bucket, it kind of makes a big noise. But beyond that, it's been great.

Their team at the dealer was also very good. Unfortunately, the guys that came out and put the refrigerator in the first time didn't level it. It was an inch and a half out off the cabinets that it sort of resides in on the top and an eighth of an inch out on the bottom. But we called the next day and the guys at Aitoro sent somebody out within an hour and a half. They leveled it and it was perfect.

I'm happy with my Viking refrigerator and I like the size of the refrigerator compartment. On the other hand, I noticed the dirt pan underneath overflowed, at least, once. When I went to pull it out to just empty it, I couldn't remove it and I can't reach into the assembly area down there to remove the proper screws to be able to remove the whole dirt pan. It's a little concerning because I have already had water on the floor once from the unit and I certainly would want to be able to prevent it from happening again. Also, it'd be nice if they had a water filtration system in it so you could get drinking water out of it or like a spigot to get your drinking water. That would have been a really nice feature to have included.

I like the look of Viking Refrigerators and it was a right fit for what we needed. So we got a package deal from them and ended up getting two refrigerators. They’ve been great up until a month ago where unfortunately, one of them malfunctioned. The refrigerators are in our vacation home, and the gentleman who came out and checked it said the foam came loose and got caught in the fans. There was no coolant happening and no fans were going off, and it was heating up the temperature so all of the fixtures on the doors cracked from the heat. The food in my refrigerator also cooked for about two weeks, so it took 11 hours for the cleaners to get it cleaned and it still smells.

I was still hoping that Viking will get it fixed, but parts have to be ordered and the gentleman who came out and told me to put coffee or charcoal in the refrigerator also said that the inside of my refrigerator got cooked. It's now beige and is off color. He said if I can live with that, then my refrigerator will probably be okay. But I was asked what I wanted and I said I'd like the refrigerator replaced because it’s clear that there's something wrong and they came out and confirmed it. But they're going to send all the pieces to put it together, and that's very silly to replace all the stuff as I don’t think my refrigerator is going to be all right because of the inside coloring. It's going to cost them as much for each of those drawers because everything inside the refrigerator wasn’t metal and most of the shelvings cracked and completely dropped to the bottom of the refrigerator, smothered in whatever food I had there, and it was just not good.

My second Viking refrigerator, a small one that’s on the counter by my stove, also decided to kick out, which is weird because Viking is usually a very good product. The tech said he’s seen it on three others in his time and he’s worked for 20 years on Viking, but he’s never seen it this bad. So I hope they do the right thing and replace the product because it clearly was faulty. I think it's a great product. It's sleek and I loved it, but I'm still a little frustrated. It's been two weeks and I haven’t heard anything back, so I'm going to call and see what was happening with my refrigerator.

I moved in to my new house a few months ago. Since late June, I have had my Viking refrigerator repaired at least 3 times. Prior to the first repair, I tried calling Viking, and was just referred to a local repair company -- no offer was made to look into warranty issues or anything else. Initially, the thermistors were replaced, but shortly thereafter the freon unit developed a hole, which would require a $2k repair. I acknowledge that the units are about 10 years old, but I would expect more longevity from such a high priced product. Unfortunately, my current setup is a 36" wide refrigerator (which is broken), and a 30 inch freezer that works. Rather than replacing just the refrigerator, I've opted to replace both units with a smaller 48" inch refrigerator. I can't afford the continued maintenance costs of these units.

We will have one of our customer care reps contact you to get the unit information. Viking has one of the longest warranties in the business and it may be possible that some parts of this may still be under warranty. Viking carries 6 year parts and labor warranty on the sealed system and then an additional 6-12 year parts only sealed system warranty.

I like that Viking products are made in the USA, and so I had their products in a previous home too. We also decided to buy an entire Viking kitchen for our guesthouse. That includes a stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, wine cooler, and microwave drawer. However, we had a problem with the dishwasher and Viking took almost nine months on it. They ended up having to replace it because the technician messed the other one up.

Our refrigerator has also been leaking at the bottom for the last five months. The thing is it's in the guesthouse and it’s hardly used. The parts that have issues are all under warranty of about six to eight years. I've been dealing with a gentleman from Viking who has been trying to get technicians down here. One tech took off the door as well as the back panels, and now the door won't close and it leaks on both sides instead of one. It’s very frustrating because other than that one tech who came, I’ve still yet to get another one to come and look at the refrigerator and we're about ready to throw it out on the street.

My liking of Viking has always been the cooktops or ranges. In fact, I just had my 60-inch installed in my kitchen in the main house. I still like the product. It's just very frustrating to deal with customer service. Their service and follow-up is horrendous and I would not recommend it to anybody. Overall, the experience has been good. However, I was a bit disappointed with the issue of the refrigerator and it happened after a year, so it was just out of warranty. Before the Christmas break, I opened the fridge one morning and noticed it was warm. It continued to get warm and got up to about 65 in the fridge and well above freezing in the freezer. I placed a service call with a local company Pacific Sales recommended. They told me to reset the power. It didn’t really make any difference that day, then the next day, I checked again and noticed the fridge was working. I kept my eye on it and it's been working ever since.

We did a lot of comparisons on refrigerators and one of the reasons we went with a particular unit from Viking was because the store gave us a great price on it. It was the best product for the best price though not the cheapest. The dealers made me feel like they knew what they were talking about, but they probably could have known more. Their delivery and installation team was awesome. Even though they crimped the line by accident, it was something that nobody could have foreseen happening. They took great care of the unit when they were installing it and knew exactly what they were doing as far as where the outlet and water line needed to be and what it was going to take. They were very precise and did a very good job.

Overall, it's a good fridge but it could be improved in a number of areas like the design perspective. The cover that goes over the icemaker doesn't make sense the way that it's pulled. If you keep trying to pull it up, it rips one of the pegs out of the side when it could go up all the way or just slide forward out and that would solve the problem. It annoyed the crap out of me the first time I got it. Because of the crimping that the installers did when the fridge was originally hooked it up, there wasn't any water coming through. I was trying to make sure that the ice maker was running and making ice so I kept lifting the cover. That aside, I like my refrigerator and I'm very excited about it. It looks nice and I love that it has a filter for the water and the ice.

Imagine your danger comes home from college has surgery before the holidays and you take out the large tub of yogurt frozen solid. You like to drink cranberry juice frozen solid. Take something off a different shelf moldy. It is almost impossible to deal so I go buy a garage refrigerator to try to survive the holidays. They came out a couple of times for that and eventually they figured it out and fixed it. Then more recently, the unit completely died and it turned out to be the board for the inverter was bad. But the thing that's maddening is how long it took for them to come and fix it. The parts were in stock but it took three days to have the order put in and then these can't be shipped fast. We were without a fridge for two weeks.

That to me is a poor customer service. Luckily we had a spare fridge in the garage that we kind of lived out of for two weeks. If somebody's fridge breaks, they should ship that thing via FedEx. They should come, fix it and not screw around. Then just this week, the ice thing was not working. I figured it out when somebody in the house that looks at appliances noticed that where the water is coming out to make the ice is completely frozen. I would think twice buying another Viking.

My experience of getting a new one, getting it put in, and getting it working was about as painless as it could have been given that the people who came out to do it have to come up to a condominium setting in downtown San Francisco which is not trivial.

This particular Viking fits my needs because of the space I have to put in. I like its size and how it looks. It's a good size refrigerator, it's narrow, and the width of it is 24 inches out so it doesn't stick out in the room. It does a good job. The first one should have lasted longer than it did. Vikings will probably come through with the warranty but it’s a slow process right now. We got a Viking Refrigerator primarily because of the name and reputation. But then unfortunately, Vikings' name has suffered in the last few years but hopefully, I won't have any issues with this one. The quality is fine, it's fairly modern and it has nice LED lights. P.C. Richard was the dealer and they were professional and very good about it. The only thing I was a little disappointed is that it didn't have any cold water coming out and I would have expected that for a $3700 appliance. But overall, it's a nice refrigerator and I would recommend it.

Monogram appliances but we heard their refrigerator wasn't good. We wanted a higher end refrigerator and since we had experience with Viking, we ordered one online through AJ Madison. It was a stand-alone and there's not many high-end companies that make a stand alone. We didn't have to pay self-tax and shipping. The refrigerator looks pretty cool and the functions are great. Viking is a good brand. It's made in the USA and we like the look and size of their refrigerators. Ours is working great so far. The temperature control is nice and the doors open and close easily. It's like a French door refrigerator, but they don't hit each other. My sister has a Sub-Zero but its doors would hit each other if they didn't close them the right way. As with ours, the doors seem to be pretty seamless, which is good. However, the freezer in our fridge is like a pull out drawer and if I pull the freezer from one side, it gets off the track a little bit. Sometimes I have to straighten it out and push it back in, which is a little weird. Also, it would be cool if there was a water dispenser inside the fridge, though I'm sure Viking has that on some of their high-end refrigerators. As for the Viking dealer, their team was on-time and they answered all my questions. They were absolutely friendly and respectful as well. It was an easy experience overall.

I've known about Viking forever and I chose them because of the aesthetics of their pieces, their higher quality and that they would last longer. I like the height of the refrigerator I got and the size of the shelf because it's easy to reach everything. However, I had a frustrating incident with their product which I never had with my old crap refrigerator. It appeared that somehow ice had formed in the circulation system between the freezer and the refrigerator, which caused the refrigerator to not be able to cool down. It took many weeks and two different people to come out to try to fix it. There was no sense of urgency. Viking was recommending the first repair company that didn't work on weekends, which was unheard of. Viking also didn't have enough time slots open to serve everyone. The fridge was fixed but there was a runaround in terms of payment and the Viking people didn't seem to know what they were doing.

Viking needs to up its customer service game. They can't charge what they do for a refrigerator and not have 24/7 phone support and people who know what they're doing on the other end. In this day and age, they can't meet the expectations. That's not acceptable for this kind refrigerator at this cost. I could have gotten a better service with Sears or GE. I won't be buying a Viking again and I would go with somebody else just on the customer service experience I've had with them. Overall, the refrigerator is a beautiful product but there is no support for it.

I'm in the commercial restaurant business as the factory rep for three of the sister companies to Viking which is why I chose them. I dealt directly with the factory, not the dealer and they're knowledgeable and friendly. Their refrigerator looks beautiful, but the design is below the competition. There are several things that need to be reworked on these refrigerators. The drawers are awful and the ice maker is below the volume that I thought it was. The compartment is too small and doesn’t produce enough ice especially with respect to a large refrigerator. I have a refrigerator that costs a tenth of its price and has an ice drawer that is about double the capacity of what this one came with.

Bought a brand newly built house with all new Viking appliances. The first week we owned the house, the doors on the appliance needed to be repaired. Then we had an electric short due to the range needing to be required. Approximately after 1 month of ownership, the defroster in the freezer died causing the refrigerator to shut down. We had to manually defrost the freezer every day for over a week before we had a functioning refrigerator. In August, 6 months after installation, the lights in the freezer stopped working.

3 months later, 4 service calls later, we were told the lights couldn't be repaired. Even heard the Viking tech tell the service guy on the phone there was nothing more he could do. Oh yeah, sometime between August and Nov, the ice maker died. So we have a very expensive attractive piece of garbage that isn't as good as our LG that was less than 1/3 the cost. We would like a refund in order to purchase a different appliance but do not expect that. A replacement is being requested.

About a month ago we noticed the high temp alarm go off and the appliance stopped cooling. We called out Viking approved technician and he diagnosed the control boards, which I paid 1k to have replaced. Three days later, the alarm goes off again and everything starts to defrost. The technician is unsure what the problem is but suspects a sealed system issue (another 1k). I am fuming about, what is a highly priced fridge freezer needing all this work at only 10 years old.

The main problem was the refrigerator as it constantly broke down. We were very dissatisfied with it. We had to contact their technician three times to come out and fix the problem. But their repair guys were always good. They came with the knowledge of what the problem is and they fixed it. We also had a very bad experience with their dealer Pacific Sales at Best Buy in San Jose. They kept blowing me off even if I purchased extended warranty. I'm very happy with the range top and am pleased with the hood fan, but the microwave and dishwasher are both subpar. Then, one of the shelves in the refrigerator got broken which is very disappointing seeing I spent almost $10,000 for it.

Also we purchased it at Best Buy at their Pacific Store and it was a very bad experience. They shipped our packages and we received six, so we assumed that everything was there. We had our kitchen totally rebuilt, then we found out we were missing a package. Then the store manager said we were lying and all the packages were delivered. A week later they found that the package was still in Cleveland and was not delivered. So, our set stood in our kitchen for two or three weeks until it was finished. Then when we installed the double oven, we found out it had been dropped in shipping. Their technician had come out and confirmed that it was. But now Viking is handling that and is sending us a new one.

And everything freezes at the the top and bottom shelves. Things are going really bad. So, there's no good circulation of cool air. I sent an email to them a couple of months ago to see if they can send me a replacement but I don't have anything yet.

I had a dishwasher that also broke down within a year. I had a lot of difficulty getting through to Viking. I was trying to tell them what happened. It took them a long time to understand when I called them. I asked them if they can just replace the dishwasher because I've been waiting long to get it fixed. They sent me to the customer service but they couldn't understand what I was asking them to do. They were reaching out to the appliance repair guy when I was asking them to replace it in the first place. I had a very frustrating time. Thankfully it's repaired now but it took them two months to get it fixed. I always thought Viking was a very good brand. I'm very disappointed. I'm not really recommending Viking to any of my friends until I think otherwise.

I was forced to buy a new refrigerator because my other one died, and it was a choice between Viking, Sub-Zero and KitchenAid. I bought the Viking because of the $1,000 rebate they were having and I also felt like it had more room. I pack my freezer and refrigerators, so it was the design that I was attracted to. So far, it's been great and it's been a very even temperature. The LED lights are awesome since I can see everything in there. The lady at Bill Smith was very helpful in helping me make the decision. I wanted to make sure the refrigerator was installed right by their installer, so I called them and had them check on things. They were very good. I also got my rebate check finally.

The only thing I wish my Viking has was another vegetable drawer because I eat a lot of fruits and vegetables, but it only has one vegetable drawer. It has two drawers for cold cuts and cheeses but it only has one crisper and I miss that. Also, after I had this installed, I've asked several repair people about what they think of Viking. Viking needs to do a better job with them because they've all said that Sub-Zero is so much better and I should've bought the Sub-Z as far as from their point of view.

When I moved into my house, it had a Viking six-burner cooktop which I thought was very well-done. It was enamel, not stainless steel, but was much sturdier than what I have now. I was impressed with it but it's been there a while so I wanted to replace that. We redid our kitchen about five years ago and thought I would use Viking products. That's how I started looking at the other matching pieces. I do a lot of cooking but the quality of what I purchased is not the same with what I had before. In hindsight, I wish I had just kept the Viking cooktop and had gotten double-oven in its place from somebody else. The stainless steel on the cooktop scratches. I've already had to replace the grates once. Then the temperature on the double oven wasn't getting correct because the hinges were not strong enough. They had to be replaced to the tune of $400. Even after that was done, I still had to have a repairman come again to calibrate it correctly.

Aside from the cooktop, we bought a Viking refrigerator whihc we picked in particular because we have space constraints and it worked well. The only thing I like in the new configuration of the model I have is that there's extra shelf at the top. It's very small but I'm a baker so I put my pieces right in there to cool in the freezer. But the quality is horrible. I've had several other refrigerators with which I've been far more impressed with. The plastic inside is poorly designed in that the butter dish slides open when the door opens. Now, they've changed it and within days it dented my initial fridge. I also had to replace an internal part as one of the drawers cracked. My first fridge had an ice maker problem and then the compressor went.

I went through many months of badgering Viking to replace this thing. The Viking team members have been respectful but not timely. If I hadn't been a diligent pain in the neck, nothing would've happened. I had to keep contacting them before they had somebody come. When they contacted a person and I never heard anything, I contacted Viking again and finally got an email that she had left the company. But there was no follow-up.

I finally got a new fridge and the people that Viking contracted with to come out were very helpful. When they came out, I spoke to Sally from Viking and wanted to verify that the trim kit will fit in the unit because I spent nearly $1,000 for the kit to make this thing look built-in. Sure enough, the contractors who came forgot the kit. So they came back again with it and only was able to put it in on one side. I then had to call a carpenter and pay out-of-pocket to have it replaced. I then called Viking again who ultimately recouped that fee for me and made me whole. But then again, the ice maker doesn't work in this new refrigerator. The repairman that Viking contracted with from Dillon Appliance came out this week and said that it doesn't function. So I'm very disappointed.

For the amount of money and time I've spent on this, it's crazy. I shouldn't have to have a part-time job tracking down Viking. They should do what they're supposed to do. First of all, they should produce a good product. And second of all, I've dealt with all these different people to have these things repaired and still have a refrigerator that doesn't have a working ice maker and this is my second fridge. And I was out of a fridge for five weeks. It was a long time and I have four kids. I have a backup fridge in the garage but it's small. Nobody at Viking really seemed to be worried about this or really apologetic that their products shouldn't break and they're very sorry that my compressor completely went under five years.

I would never buy another Viking product. It's not worth the money, especially the refrigeration. It's like any other refrigerator and they slapped the Viking logo on it. That's actually what the guy at Dillon's told me. There's nothing exceptional about it. Then I've been somewhat pleased with the double oven except I had another double oven for years and never had to replace the hinges. Four and a half years in, I'm already replacing hinges which is not exactly what I wanted to do. But I needed to retain the heat. It's a very disappointing experience. The product is by no means worth the amount of money I spent on it. The value isn't there.

They are also pretty small refrigerators. I wanted the 44-inch and has more options to choose but I did not see many so I finally ended up with the 36-inch ones. Although, it's doing what a fridge is supposed to do and I think that's the minimum we expect to see. However, I'm having an issue with the fridge already. The second week after I purchased it, I noticed there's an icy patch in the back of the drawers. Some of the vegetables in the drawers were getting frozen. I had the temperature set at 37 Fahrenheit, in which nothing should be freezing at that point. I had to wait 20 minutes to speak to any technician then had to hold another 15 minutes to set up an appointment. I just bought it so I expect to get it fixed. I had to speak to the servicer in my area who called me back but there was a scheduling conflict so I haven't seen them yet. They're supposed to come on Monday. I expected more. I'm slightly disappointed with the problem I had.

The first person we dealt with at the Viking dealer was really bad at his job. He only did the bare minimum for customer service and didn't really care about it. The second was fantastic, though. She was attentive, helpful and did what we needed to get done with the same information that was provided to the first guy. We've had a good experience with them. The repair company that they referred to us came out the next day to repair our freezer after the other repair company could come only after two weeks. It's really nice that we were given accommodations. Now it's done so that's great. However, the refrigerator is very shallow. It needs to be deeper so it can fit more stuff but other than that, it's great. I'm very satisfied with my Viking experience. They're easy to work with and I appreciate the above and beyond customer service.

When I went to replace it, I had to get something with the same size so I decided to go with the Viking this time instead of Sub-Zero. Viking had everything that I liked about the Sub-Zero. I liked the freezer on the bottom, the drawers, the style, stainless steel, and the three-year warranty. I liked the look of it and it fits perfectly. I like everything about the lighting inside, too. It's awesome. I’ve only had it for a few weeks, but so far everything’s good. My refrigerator didn't come with a kickplate and I am still waiting for it. I’m hoping that it will come soon. It’s been a few weeks and everything's been fine. I love it and everybody who comes in loves it. I think it’s great. It meets all my expectations.

The Viking Professional side-by-side refrigerator has operated for about 7 years without any real issues. However, today the water dispenser activated and flooded our kitchen floor. Thankfully we were home and awake when it happened and were able to figure out if we lock the dispenser the water stops flowing. The ice dispenser works fine, but the water flows even when the ice dispenser is being used. It keeps beeping as it would when locked and someone tries to use it, even though the switch is not being physically activated. This makes me VERY nervous to even repair it as the damage it would cause if it went on for hours and hours (or even days if we were to travel) is nerve-wracking. What if it malfunctions again? The repair guy is coming in a couple days and we hope it won't dispense water while locked.

It’s been really awful. They only have one person in the Des Moines area who services the product, and when the rep called to set something up, she was really rude and refused to service my refrigerator. So now, it’s supposed to be with the regional manager and I keep calling back every day and nobody calls me back. It's a very poor, runty service with Viking.

I moved from North Carolina to Texas. I had a KitchenAid back in North Carolina and I had mix results, but mostly positive. And I switched from KitchenAid to Viking when I moved to Texas. I walked into Best Buy, saw Vikings, and I liked it. The measurements were such that it fit my house. I've heard their reputation was good and unfortunately my experience was not that good. And I like the layout of the inside and configuration of it. I did not particularly go out and do an experimentation or competitive shopping.

I still like the Viking but I bought it off the floor. In other words, it was a floor model. My number one complaint is that the delivery from Best Buy to my home was mediocre. Two dudes came and then just dumped the box. They couldn't wait to get out and get their money. They didn't level it. The couple of the handles were loose because it's just a floor model. I knew that and got a discount because of it. But we checked carefully with Viking and I was able to ascertain on the phone that I had full warranty just as if it was new.

I learned one lesson that I would not buy another floor model again. I got the discounts for a good reason, but there were nix in the handle. It didn't bother me because of the discount was substantial and I thought, "What the heck? It's a good box." So, I bought it. And I would never do that again. Because even though I had a full warranty and Viking was very accommodating about getting a service order out and getting a service guy in here, their service guys are not trained.

A dude came in to do the servicing because the rubber sealed on the freezer portion did not close all the way at the top. Otherwise, there was a half an inch gap between the rubber and the metal. And consequently, the box was going 24/7. I never heard it quiet ever until I had this service call. He tightened up one handle, but didn't do the other handle. The bottom portion of the outside to the decorative chrome piece that sits on the floor that's loose on one end. He didn't tighten that. It was a very slipshod work. He didn't have the tools and didn't have the moxie to do the service.

So, I'm disappointed in that fashion. I'm still not quite sure whether the freezer portion is correctly positioned and whether the screws are correctly tightened and leveled. I understand about floors not even and the knob but now the box is not level. And it bothers me. I look at it every day, and I see it that it's at least three quarters inches off on one side. I paid quite a bit of money for a nice box that I thought was the top of the line, top shelf box and I can't get any satisfaction. I can't get any service.

I don't think the problem is just with the Viking product. I think it's a combination of things. When they put it on sale, they had moved it from the wall portion to the outside door of Alco or Foyer. So, they've been moving it around and that indicates to me that depending how good the movers are, what kind of dollies they use, and where the heck they put the dolly, did they bend something, the freezer door portion get bent and out of shape and that's why the rubber seal did not seal.

I liked them, plus they were made in the USA, and that's how I ended up buying a Viking refrigerator. It's a good purchase. I bought it from my dealers here in the Portland area. It's been excellent with the reps. The salesperson was very knowledgeable. He offered me different kinds and I said, "Listen, just tell me about Viking right now," and he said, "Okay." The ref I got has two features that I like. First, the temperature is very constant, and is exactly what the ref says. Second, there's a little ozonator inside the ref for keeping the food fresh and not smelling.

However, I am going to call Viking because we have a little issue with the refrigerator. When I open the door, the drawers on both sides where you put your veggies in won't stay and would slide out if I don't put something underneath, like a piece of towel. This appliance is not leveled well. Other than that, it's perfect. Hopefully, somebody can fix my ref's drawers so they will not slide when I open the main door, because that's very annoying.

They are not wide enough to accommodate milk cartons. So for a refrigerator that stands seven feet tall, it's frankly useless and not worth the price that I paid. But, the freezer leaks water onto the floor, which then pools under the fridge and then leaks into my basement. I have to get in there every week and break up the ice at the bottom of the freezer so it doesn’t break the seal. I sent an email to Viking several weeks ago and I was in touch with somebody there and we have emails back and forth. I opened up a service ticket about three months ago and I’m only now starting the service process since it wasn’t until this week that I actually got confirmation. They can't even confirm when they're going to fix it. I’ve known Viking products for years. In fact, all of our appliances are Viking. We got the lower end model of refrigerator. I'm not an expert on refrigeration, but I don't think that it's up to par with other units at its price range. Their upper end models may be totally different but the ice maker design of this unit is not good and it needs to be changed. We can't pull the drawer out because the bearings had gone bad.

So, the ice making location or the way it works is not good. Now, I can't even get parts for it but the parts are backlogged. They said it's going to take over a month to six weeks to get them. They need to keep these parts in inventory. I can understand if they're not readily available that day but I hope we could get them within a week. Six weeks is ridiculous. They can't even confirm when they're going to get the parts, and they're saying hopefully by Thanksgiving which is not good.

13 years ago, when we built our house, we bought a Viking refrigerator. About two years ago, we put $1100 into it because it quit working. The guy said it was better than new then about three months ago the refrigerator door fell off. They gave us a whole new one so now I have a new Viking Refrigerator. However, I don't like it as well as my old one because I don't think it holds as much. And already, the plastic is cracked in one of the drawers and I don't know how it happened. We had that problem with the old one, but not this soon. The drawer in the new unit is not extra full, it goes in by itself, and you just give it a little shove and it slides in. I like that feature and it's better for me. But my other one have more of a tall shelf on one side so taller things would fit like a wine bottle say and it's pretty. Their reps are very nice and they were very good about getting us a new refrigerator.

When our refrigerator door fell off, luckily it only grazed my husband. It hit him on the shoulder but he was walking away from it. But it did damage my covered and wood floor. There's also a big gouge out of my cabinet doors which I've had somebody come to look at and there's no way that it can be fixed. It has to be replaced. Some of the boards on the floor have to be replaced too which means that they have to redo my whole floor because it's an open hardwood floor. In their email to us, Viking said that they wanted our homeowners to do it. I checked with my homeowners and found that it's going to raise my insurance. We have a $1500 deductible. So I'm in the process of getting bids to send to Viking. I'm not happy about that part of it and if it had hurt my husband worse, they'd have a lawsuit on their hands. Also, I feel that we weren't notified of this problem with the Viking and we're lucky there wasn't any grandkids here.

We did some research and we were debating between Sub-Zero and Viking. Because of the layout of our kitchen, we couldn't fit a bigger fridge so we decided to go with Viking. We're happy that the freezer is at the bottom, but if an improvement can be made, we feel that the ice maker is not conveniently placed. We have to open the whole freezer to get the ice and there's a lot of cold temperature while we're taking the ice out as well as the ice cubes having a tendency to fall off. But it's very well-built and it shows high quality compared to other products. It's also backed up by a great warranty. As far as the refrigeration, we're so far satisfied and would certainly recommend Viking to other people. We don't have any issues like we had with the range.

I was very frustrated with the gas range that we have. I had a bad experience with that way Viking's customer service work. Communication was what really drove everything off. I called and there was a service scheduled, which was supposed to be within a one-week time frame. It turned out that we were without a gas range for almost a month. The people that Viking originally set up a schedule with, apparently, were booked up for over three weeks. So I had to call in and there wasn't a Viking customer service. We purchased a home with a 2015 48" Viking Fridge already installed. This unit was older and was subject to a door hinge recall. Doors too heavy for hinge design. After getting factory repair, doors warped and fridge would not seal. This is the good part of the story. After ruining my hardwood from leaks, I was offered a warranty replacement unit for $5,500. This unit was installed in May 2015. By August 2015, we had 11 service calls including visits from Viking Regional Service Director. Poor cooling, icing up, random temperature increases were main complaints. By September 2015, decision was made to replace brand new fridge. We were relieved but that relief was short lived.

It is now October 2016. My refrigerator is currently unplugged and has been for the last 2 weeks. We have had 4 defrost terminators replaced in the last 12 months. Those of you who are unfamiliar with this repair, a terminator is the switch that initiates the auto defrost cycle. When the switch fails, the fridge slowly ices up which prevents air from traveling up through the freezer to the refrigerator. Symptoms are elevated freezer and fridge temperatures. The latest issue is a leak in the closed system. Under warranty but estimate over $4,000 repair when fridge is out of warranty. I have tried to be understanding. Mainly because we have had excellent support from our local service company High End Appliance. However, my patience is running thin. Jury is still out as to how Viking will handle this. Will keep you updated.

Authorized repairman left within 5 minutes of appointment and told me to call Viking, there was nothing he could do. Called Viking and they said they couldn't do anything until receiving the full report from the authorized repairman. So frustrating because they couldn't give me any idea when and if I would have a working or replacement appliance. After some sword rattling and several phone calls to PR personnel, we were contacted by Viking yesterday and the problem is resolved. They are replacing the appliance in a different color with a different one than we purchased but at least they did right by us in the end. Now I can't wait to see how they are going to replace this behemoth unit with another in our tight kitchen.

    Original Review: Oct. 3, 2016

We remodeled our kitchen in 2012 and chose Viking appliances. Since then the 36" refrigerator/freezer has been nothing but problems. We've had approximately 10-12 service calls in the last 4 years. In 2015 we were without a working refrigerator/freezer for 5 weeks while we waited for parts. At 2 a.m. last night, the alarm on the refrigerator was going off (which it does ALL the time), and there was a terrible smell of something burning. When I opened the door to the refrigerator, smoke billowed out. We turned off the appliance and this morning discovered that a fire had taken place behind the back panel of the unit. Black soot was evident in the freezer compartment. (I've attached a photo.)

Again, Viking responds by sending out an authorized dealer to fix it instead of replacing the unit as we've requested on numerous occasions. Now I worry about the safety of their appliances in general and seriously regret the purchase of all my viking units (gas range, dishwasher, and refrigerator/freezer). The authorized dealer called after speaking with a representative from Viking and said the best they could do would be a service call 5 days from now. When I mentioned there was a fire they moved the appointment up by two days.

So once again, I am without a refrigerator. With all of the problems, time lost at work waiting for repairman, the inconvenience of having no refrigeration in our home for weeks at a time, damage to my wood floor for a previous leak in the freezer, etc., Viking now gives us the runaround that the unit is out of warranty. Truly unacceptable for a unit costing $8499 at time of purchase. If I could give this appliance zero stars, I would. Just thankful that my home didn't burn down last night!

One of the main reasons I loved the Viking is because it’s very simple, the lines are very sleek, and elegant. I went to an appliance dealer in Spokane, Washington and the salesman showed me all of the appliances. Wolf is a little intense for me.

Six months later, we had to hone in on what we were gonna put in the house and so we went to that dealership in Bend, Oregon. I kept bringing Viking up and the rep kept taking me away from it. He said the brand doesn't update and doesn't have anything new and fancy with their machine. But that's why I want it. I don’t want anything fancy. There’s not even a clock on my stove. First I was kind of taken aback and I thought, “Oh, I have to use my own timer.” Now that I’ve used it, it’s what I love about it. There’s none of those pieces that often have problems down the road. The temperature is very true to the dial. I have a thermostat in there and when I put it on 350 and I wait 30 minutes, it’s at 350.

The refrigerator doesn’t have the water feature that a lot of refrigerators have. When I open it up, it’s incredibly bright and it’s like the heavens open up. You just see everything. I’ve noticed that I can also keep vegetables or fruits in the compartment for a longer period of time than I’ve been able to in the past. It’s interesting how many people have come in to look at the house and they’ve all made comments on Viking. It just works so well and accentuates everything else that is in this kitchen.

My wife liked the style as well as the lights of the Viking Refrigerator and the salesman in the store recommended it. Their customer service was also the best. The only thing we're not crazy about is the ice maker. It's got the arm but I don't know if it's done on sensors where it doesn't overflow and doesn't really fill the refrigerator in. But then Viking is great and we love it.

We've owned Viking products for years in different houses. Over the years, their products have improved. We've just spent about $40,000 in Viking products, in building a new home. The refrigerator we got from them appears to be fine. They built a nice product. I don't have high expectations with a refrigerator. It either keeps stuff cold or frozen. We have a separate Viking ice maker that's not part of the freezer or refrigerator, and it's a nicely constructed piece of equipment.

My only issue was with their dishwasher that immediately leaked. Moreover, I was in a new home without a dishwasher for two months because they couldn't deliver parts. We just got the dishwasher back a couple of days ago. The Viking dealer was good, except with their service with the dishwasher. We live in a small town in Arizona and they are the only game in town. But there's no excuse for our spending thousands of dollars on a piece of equipment that comes defective from the factory and then it takes two months to get a replacement part. It's just not acceptable

We haven't had any issues so far with any of the other equipment, which is good. Our Viking products sometimes had service-related issues, so they're not as durable as some of their competitors' stuff, but they certainly are attractive in their features. I've had both good and bad experiences with Viking products, so I’m holding my breath that we don’t have any other issues. Viking has been challenged publicly on the quality of their product. So, I'm hoping that they have improved their manufacturing process and their items are more durable than they were in the past.

I only plan on buying a refrigerator once, so the 10-year warranty from Vikings made me choose to go with them. Everyone else's warranty is much shorter or almost non-existent. We bought it from a huge warehouse store and they were very informative, helpful and could answer any questions that we had. Though we have made up our mind that that's the one we were gonna go with since we had looked at so many already.

It's a little too plasticky. There's a lot of plastic in it and if they remove the plastic and the plastic parts in the motor, it will last me. But, I do like the freezer section. It was a little bit bigger than some of what we were looking at because we purposely went with the French styling. I like the crispers and use them a lot too. So far, our experience with them has been good and I would recommend it.

When I went into the store of the multi-product and multi-brand dealer, I had a shortlist of what would fit in my house, and the Viking refrigerator was one of them. It's well-rated. I looked online for reviews and did more of my research outside of the dealer store. The refrigerator that I got from Viking is good. I like it a lot, especially the lighting. However, there are two things that I don't like about it. One is that I wish I had filtered water. The second one is that when you use the ice tray in the automatic ice feature, the little bars that measure whether it's full or not usually catch the ice, and then the ice falls back into the freezer and you can't shut the freezer. So then you have to fish up some of the ice. But it's hard to get back there because you have to get down on your hands and knees and slide the big tray out. Otherwise, the ref is working well.

I liked their stove and I was hoping that theirs would be better products than the other products right now. So far, nothing has broken down. I like my appliances, and everything I bought is great and excellent. At the Viking dealer, one of the salesmen helped me and as we were talking, the manager came up and then I was talking to him. They were really polite and kind and courteous. I appreciated that he took his time to explain things to me the things I would ask him about (like the warranty). Then he set up the delivery date and everything came out on time. Everything was fine. I have nothing bad to say about the people that helped me there or my whole experience with Viking. They were wonderful.

We were renovating a house ten years ago and the Viking refrigerator was going to fit in to the architectural design better than anything else because it was a built-in. The Viking dealer we dealt with was courteous and friendly. But my Viking refrigerator failed. It had an uneven box or something was wrong with its door, so Viking had to replace it. It was out of warranty so they gave me a new unit at half-price. At that point, they also offered to give me a freezer at a half-price, which I did take. But there are now icicles in the freezer. There's a leak that they can't fix. So I'm waiting for Viking to call because it looks like they're going to have to replace the freezer again.

The service is fine but the wait is crappy. The service takes a while because there aren't enough techs in the area. Maybe the service tech is servicing such a large area that it's a long wait time to get somebody to come and look at the machine. They've got one service guy in Northern Illinois who services the Milwaukee area. So they're hard to schedule. I'm frustrated because their products are so expensive. I have not had the best experience.

I had nothing but headaches with my Viking Refrigerator because of the little thing at the top for ventilation. The guy installed it too far to one way. He acted like he knew what he was doing and as though it was no problem. He took the tape off, and put it all the way to the right when it should’ve been centered up. The guy from Pac Sales says they’re not going to do anything about it. I said, “I’m an older person. I can’t take it off.” We’ve got to pull the refrigerator out and the thing at the top.

My real dilemma is that they want me to take it off, take it down to the store and get the new one to put it back on. The lady says, “Well, why don’t you hire a handyman to do that?” I go, “A handyman? That’s gonna cost me money to have a handyman take this off.” I felt very dissatisfied with that situation. I like the refrigerator and how it’s keeping certain things cold. It's roomy with lots of different compartments. It's really nice and looks beautiful. My favorite feature would be the ice deal because I can just scoop it out. But I’m having a problem with the filler thing, that I feel I’ve been gypped. I should’ve been more assertive towards the salesman and the others. I was lost in the delivery and now I’m at odds with them to have it fixed. Viking should have some very faint lines from the top of the refrigerator where they should’ve had the insert.

I wanted to get a very solid looking refrigerator, but it needed to fit in the existing space, which was a little tricky. I had a choice between Viking and one other. But I liked the way the Viking French door refrigerator looks, the layout, and the fact that it fit in the slot. The dealer has been excellent but they only delivered to the garage and they don't do the installation for liability reasons, at least from Mount Vernon location. So I had to hire someone to install the fridge. One issue that I find that in the refrigerator section is if I've got lettuce or something near the back, the fridge will freeze it. So I just turned down the temperature in the refrigerator to see if that would do it and so far, it's working fine. I like my Viking refrigerator - it's very solid, looks well-made and has a nice warranty.

However the built in freezer and refrigerator, which looked beautiful, have had problems too many to count. The freezer had a leak, within 1 year, which caused an ice build up at the bottom of the freezer which caused the door to jam. This was finally resolved after 2 years of service calls. Now the built in refrigerator is leaking on my hardwood floors due to a cracked vertical drain and the parts to repair it have been back ordered for 5 weeks now and still on back order. I have to replace a towel under the unit every day so that my hardwood floors will survive. However I do not know the condition of the floors under the unit.

Viking was what the builder was providing as appliances, so we went ahead and bought the Viking fridge to match. The installers didn’t put the basket straight in the freezer so I had to figure that out. I had to go to one of the other houses and look at their fridge to see how to do it. The builder also gave me the wrong fridge. It’s the one with the water feature inside. They gave me an upgrade but we liked to have cold water coming out of our fridge, so that’s the only thing we miss. Other than that it’s been great. I love the freezer in the bottom and the double door where I could put big stuff in. That’s what I've always wanted. Plus the crisper is really good. It's a very reliable product.

I’ve used Viking for several years. I’ve had a 16-inch Viking range in one house and had some other Viking and Jenn-Air appliances as well. But I've always gone back to Viking. My wife likes them because the big Viking ranges have removable inserts so when we spill and things flow over on the gas ranges, we lift the grating off and then there’s a pan that we can lift out on the older ones that makes it much easier to clean. But in my current house, I bought a Viking surface gas range and it’s a pain in the ass because I can’t pull those pans out to clean them.

I also have a non-built in refrigerator and I had it drop shipped to my house. I unpacked it, installed it myself, set it all up, and it’s perfect. I like the LED lighting in them. It's just a nice touch to it when I open the doors. Also, the handles have a substantial feel which at times, feel a little better than industrial feel. Others are still in boxes and they’re waiting to be installed. One’s a built in refrigerator, built in freezer, and a built in wine cooler. And I have a construction project going on right now so they’re not going to be installed for another four weeks if all goes smoothly.

One of the reasons I’ve gone overboard with Viking is because when I went a local supplier where I’m at to look at Viking and they didn’t stock them any more They said, “Well, we actually just had to pull them out because we don’t do enough business here. Viking is consolidated per dealership network." And so I called another dealer and they said, “Yeah. We’ve been buying up all the demo Viking stuff and Viking bought stuff from other dealers ‘cause they’ve gone through a dealer consolidation." So I ended up going to a dealer in Dallas, Texas and buying most of my Viking appliances from them. We got a really good discount because they had been buying up inventory from other dealerships in this consolidation so my timing was right.

Nonetheless, I spent over $20,000 but I've got three refrigerators, a wine cooler, two stove tops, one gas, one induction, and one Viking wall oven and two Viking warming drawers. My wife absolutely loves the wall oven because they’re French doors, and she’s short. She’s burned herself on oven doors trying to reach into the oven to pull things out and so those French doors are phenomenal for short people because they can get right into the oven without having to reach over the door when they open the door down in a conventional oven. I've already recommended them to a couple of friends that were remodeling their kitchens. I even told them where to go and a couple of dealerships that I worked with that gave really good pricing.

I'm not happy about the replacement fridge because the one that I had before was better quality. The quality of the stainless steel of this new one is very marginal. Everything is on the stainless such as fingerprints. Viking also didn't give me options for a water dispenser. Furthermore, it was a very long process to get it replaced. I got the phone call in March and the fridge was eventually replaced in August. The refrigerator that came was damaged with shipping, so they took it out and had to put it all back again. Within 5 years we had about a dozen services on the Viking built-in refrigerator due to leaking water and icing up in the freezer. We are extremely disappointed with Viking products. We spent about $1500 on the dishwasher and $7,300 on the refrigerator. I would strongly discourage anyone from buying Viking products. We are about to buy a new refrigerator and it certainly will NOT be a Viking and we will not be buying our refrigerator from Pacific Sales due to their lack of customer support. Not only that but when Pacific Sales originally delivered the appliances their truck smashed a wall in our entry driveway. It took us a couple of months and many complaints to multiple levels of management to get them to fix the wall - and after all of our efforts they would only pay for half of the damages.

The very rude Viking phone representative said that the part (ice cube tray with auger) was back ordered for over 3 months due to the faulty design of the unit noting that the plastic parts keep breaking. The cost of this plastic until was ~$450.00!!! We reinstalled it and it still doesn't work. What a 'piece of **'. I would never recommend purchasing this "professional" refrigerator/freezer. I like that the fridge looks very much like a built-in model, the freezer compartment is down below, and the French door style has three tiers.

Unfortunately, I hadn't been too pleased with the Viking dealer I went through. Back in June when I purchased the kitchen suite, that company was offering a promotion for Viking. I wished Viking were not in the middle of a transition or supply issue because it has caused some back orders which is really unfair to the consumers, especially someone like me that paid for everything upfront in June. As of September, I still don't have all my items. I felt like that was the wrong time to be offering that promotion. They have wonderful products but they lack follow-through.
