I wasn't aware that we were getting the awning and I wasn't in the home when it was done since it was a surprise for me. Since getting the awning from SunSetter, it’s made a big difference in our deck because it used to get full sun from 10:00 in the morning until sundown. Seeing it was a nice surprise.

SunSetter is a known brand. And when I bought my house here, there was an old SunSetter on the back. Apparently, I bought the house with a manual crank model, and it was stuck open and jury-rigged all kinds of ways. And when the wind would blow hard, it would just beat my house to death.

SunSetter is everywhere, and I just wanted a SunSetter. Everything was good with them.

We needed something that protected the west side of our house, where our patio was, to keep a bit of the heat off. After a lot of work, we decided to buy SunSetter because of the quality, even though it was considerably more expensive than some alternatives. We chose a 16-foot awning. It goes out to 112 with a speckled gray color. There is not a SunSetter installation company in our area, so I had to have local contractor do it. Once he figured things out, he installed it quickly. Functionality is great. It deflects the beating sun, which is what we try to keep away from. I would recommend it.

We had Sunsetter awning installed at my mom’s house but it was old. So after she passed away, I became the owner of the house and I decided to replace it because it started ripping. It was the same awning as previous. Same color, size and it was remote controlled.

I bought a house that has an awning and after a couple of years, the aluminum arm on the awning broke and we can’t weld aluminum so we needed to replace the awning. I got in touch with a business located in Mooresville and they do a lot with SunSetter Awnings.

We moved into a new condo complex, where SunSetter was the only approved awning. It had to be a specific pattern, which was what we chose, the river rock. We ended up getting the installation and purchase through Costco, and they gave us a shopper's credit.

Entire process from consultation through installation was very professionally handled. A few suggestions for better shade coverage were presented that had not occurred to us. Personnel were friendly, knowledgeable, on time and easy to work with. Love our new retractable awning over our back patio! I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking for a quality solution for additional shade on their patio.

The guy from SunSetter was a nice young man came out and did a presentation. I wasn’t thrilled as I had a problem with high-pressure sales tactics. He was that came was very polite but he would not leave my table, and I was ready for him to leave. It was not my intention to purchase anything that day. I was going to get several other quotes but I ended up with SunSetter Awning. A local company did the installation and I got bad advice on where to hang it. During the day, sometimes it blocks the sun.

Everything was fine with SunSetter. Somehow I got connected to someone that used them in my development. The service was excellent. They had to come out one time, but they solved the problem.

SunSetter has been excellent. I chose a 16-foot awning and it goes out eight feet. We paid for the one with an automatic where you can open and close it with an opener. We also paid for the sensor so if the wind gets up 15 miles an hour, the awning senses the wind and it goes back in. The installer was a super good guy. I knew him and he was in and out in about three hours. He did a good job.

I saw SunSetter ads on TV and liked some of the features, so I purchased it. My son-in-law installed the awning, and it went better than I thought it would.

The SunSetter awning has done exactly what we wanted it to do, and it has held up well. The installation was done by a local contractor, they did a nice install and explained everything. I was very happy with it. I do have one issue. We haven’t used the awning in high wind, but the little drop-down shade at the end of it slides down. I wrote to SunSetter about it and they sent me a little repair kit to fix it. Everything has worked out well other than that.

We are super happy with our new deck shade from SunSetter. We love the wind sensor option as we are in a mountainous canyon with ever changing winds. The shade has made our deck much more useable in the heat of the day, as well as helping to keep our home noticeably cooler in the summer.

1. Overall, very pleased (5) with the product. 2. Assembly was not as seamless as I would have liked. Bolt holes were tight, Bolts were hard to insert and fasten. Instructions not great. I had to watch on YouTube. 3. Strongly suggest adding optional side end curtains for late afternoon use.

I ordered my SunSetter back in March of this year. It installed late April to May time frame. However, I have still yet to receive my cover for it and this is now October. I've reached out to the company who sold me the unit and the representative only not to receive any replies as of 10/08/2025. At this point, I'm really disgusted!

Overall, I am very pleased with the awning and would definitely purchase it again. It was a rough start because there are various ways to attach it to the house and they automatically sent option 1 instead of discussing it prior to purchase. Once we finally had all the correct parts the process was very smooth. It does a great job of keeping out the heat during the summer. The remote control was a great decision. I also purchased the wind sensor and highly recommend it also. My deck is very elevated and catches a lot of wind.

We bought a Sun Setter awning for our back patio, had it installed 11/23. I live in Chicago, so did not use the awning during the winter. Used it without issue the following spring. The motor went out at the end of the season, we called for service the following spring. We did not purchase the extended warranty. The service man came out and told us the company had a bad batch of motors in 2023, and he has been busy replacing them. While on the phone with customer service to address the motor issue as they were charging 250.00 for the service call and 500.00 for the motor, the motor being replaced was spring loaded and flew off its mounting onto our new customer pool cover, putting a hole in the cover.

Sunsetter has been around a long time and they have a good reputation. I got one of those little packets in the mail and I made a purchase. The installation process was seamless and carefree, and the product is of excellent quality. People get what they pay for.

When the SunSetter team came out to do the presentation, it was awesome. The rep was very professional and knowledgeable of his product. The only problem was when they ordered it and put it together, they put the motor on the wrong side of where my outlet was. They just had to run a longer cord. So far, the awning is good. I like the remote and it also has the wind sensor on there. All in all, the price was a little high, but still fair.

I had someone from Costco come out and install my SunSetter awning. It was also there where I first heard about them. The installation was very good and overall, I would recommend SunSetter to friends and family members.

The installation of our SunSetter was great. However, eight weeks in to my SunSetter, it began to come off the wall on one side. It was dragging down. There was a need to come back and add extra supports on that particular side. And they came out and fixed it.

I live on a lake and have afternoon sun all day because I'm in Michigan. I get the hot sun on my desk and umbrellas just got too old. I decided to get a SunSetter awning and it was expensive. I would have rather paid half. But I love it. They installed it for me and they did a nice job. They were out of Indiana and they were very professional, friendly, and respectful. I haven't had my awning that long, but I haven't had any problem and I hope it stays that way. This will be my first winter with it and I'm not going to have it open, just to make sure that everything goes good for the spring.

I'm putting up the house for rent, and I need an additional living space outside the house, where it didn't have a roof. A SunSetter awning was a quick way of providing something. It was costly but the workmanship is good and I'm happy with it.

I've used some of the SunSetter products before and they're a good name brand. This time aroung, I needed an awning on my deck and I got an XL awning from them. The installation went perfectly. The awning is pretty wide. It goes out to 11 feet. It's on a motor. It also has a wind sensor on it. They're very expensive, but I would recommend them.

Sunsetter's price is high, but people get what they pay for. Their contractor was first class and the product is very high quality. Everything was fine. I also bought a Sunsetter product over 15 years ago. Now, my daughter has the house and it's still there.

I bought a Sunsetter awning from Costco 25 years ago and I've since bought a couple more. It's been an excellent experience from the get-go. I did the installation myself and this last one that I put in, I had some trouble getting things to go in. I had to use a hammer. It seemed like the tolerances were a little too tight, but it was more about the enclosure cover 'cause I bought one of those aluminum ones, not the cloth. It could be how I installed the awning too. It would help with a little slack here and there, but that's not even a big concern. Other than that, the awning is an excellent product and I really like it.

I'm a repeat customer. Over the years, I’ve bought a couple of awnings and replacement awnings from SunSetter, and other than brand familiarity, another reason why I used them again was I had a good experience the first time. They're reliable. I get my product shipped quickly and I don't have any surprises with pricing. Everything is straightforward. The quality of the awning I bought seems good as well. I don't have any qualms with what I purchased in terms of what I paid and what I got, so I'm satisfied. In terms of the website though, there were a few things that weren't terribly easy to find out when I navigated it, like the help install videos.

When we had new siding put on our townhouse, we had a permanent awning and we didn't want the poles any longer. So, we purchased an EasyShade from SunSetter. They came highly recommended and I didn’t need another estimate. When their reps came out, we had a positive experience with them. Then during the installation, it was pouring rain but the installers did it anyway. They were under a tent while they did it and they were very efficient. They were done in a few hours and they did a great job.

We got a Sunsetter about 21 years ago and we loved it. When it was time to replace it, I called The Blind Guy, a company here, and told them I wanted another Sunsetter. They came out and measured, then we looked at the colors and upgraded stuff. When they came out and installed the product, they walked through everything with us. I'm very happy and excited with it.

The only thing I'm not happy about with SunSetter is that the Awning Solutions people that put it up do not have a maintenance agreement. They installed it. They put everything in. They showed me how it works. Then when I went to them in order to get it winterized, they just told me I'm on my own. So, once they sell the product, you're left. It's like buying a new car and there's not a dealership that will change your oil.

When the installers put the awning in, they didn't put any batteries in it. I had to call them out to look at it 'cause it wasn't working properly. When their service person came out, he said, “There are no batteries in it, that's why it's not working." But I like our SunSetter awning.

Several other people that we know had a SunSetter awning and when we decided to get one, we got the EasyShades. The process was great. The two guys who came out for the installation knew what they were doing. My parents love the new awning and they were happy with the price.

I learned about SunSetter from their commercials on TV and online. Their salesperson was excellent, so I decided to purchase from them. Their installation team was also very good.

SunSetter's salesperson was very personable and helpful in selecting what route we would want to take. The installation was unbelievable, too. We went from having a comparatively small nine-foot-wide awning in the front, to getting a 20-foot awning in the back. I can't believe that they did a job like that, because they were putting up two awnings so fast and so well. I have everything good and nothing bad to say about SunSetter. We were given a very good price and we've been very happy with our awning.

The SunSetter installers who came out were great and friendly. They showed me everything it needed. If I had any more questions, they gave me a phone number I could call. It was a great experience. The awning is a very nice product and it’s well made. I really like the automatic feature that you can push the button and it opens up. Then, if the wind starts to get a little bit rambunctious, it folds itself back up. That's pretty nice. I don't have to worry about it getting torn off my roof.

I ordered an easy shade on 8/14/2025. The email confirmation I received for the order stated "Delivery and Order Tracking. Your order will be delivered to you within the next 2 weeks. You will receive a shipment notification email from us when your order ships that will include tracking information." It's been 5 weeks now and I keep checking on the order status which still shows "In Production". I called customer service and they told me it's still "In Production". No help on when it may be shipped, etc. I am losing patience.

Terrible company. Absolutely non-responsive. Initially sent wrong awning as to size and color. Left it on my deck in its shipping container for six weeks. Stenciling on my deck as a result required Painting. Have not received reimbursement from either SunSetter or the installer more shades for less. Customer service was not helpful at all and cannot provide any useful information. The white glove delivery I was to receive is essentially nonexistent. I am very satisfied by the installer Junior Hammock from more shades or less. He has been a blessing and very helpful. If this company, SunSetter awnings has an executive committee then they are doing a very poor job.

I originally worked with Tyler **. He was on maternity leave when they came and installed it. My only problem is that sometime it come down part way and then goes back up right away. I felt like I didn't get good instructions on how to operate it. Would be glad to have someone come and review with me how to operate it correctly. Thank you.

The SunSetter salespeople were wonderful to work with. There were two of them because one was training. The trainee saved us $800, because he recommended that we use another kind of cover on the awning. He was very knowledgeable. That was great. The installation team that came out was excellent. They're very concerned about cleanliness, so they wore shoe covers on their shoes, and they cleaned everything up when they were done. The installation went fine. They were really good, and it was a good experience all the way around.

We had SunSetter Awnings before, and we just changed the size of the patio, so we had to get a bigger one. It took some time to get there ‘cause it was a wide length, and they custom-made it, but the quality is good so everything’s cool. We just leave it down all the time for privacy, keep the neighbors from looking in.

When we built our new house, we needed some blinds on our surrounding deck. We knew someone else who had bought SunSetter through Costco in Canada so we phoned them up, ordered a whole bunch and they sent them up here. I installed it myself and I’m glad.

We had an outstanding experience from start to finish. We purchased remote exterior shades for our sliding glass windows. We use it when we’re in that room with the remote and when somebody’s occupying that room. The quality has been very fine and we’re very pleased with it. Two of our friends from Church also had SunSetter Awning so that’s why we ended up with them. I would also tell people to give it consideration.

I saw SunSetter online and it looked like it would be a good match for what we needed. The representatives were friendly and gave good information when I called originally. The quality of the EasyShades was good. It went up fairly easy and it looks durable.

I came across a Costco flyer for products they were selling. I thought Costco was selling it at a discount with installation included. It seemed like a generous discount and it was something we’d always wanted for our backyard. So we decided to move forward.

I decided to purchase a SunSetter awning after seeing an advertisement through Costco. The awning I selected is approximately 14 feet x 12 feet and includes a wind sensor. It hasn't been installed yet, so I can’t speak to how it performs.

We wanted to get a real good awning and picked SunSetter for being the leader of awnings. We purchased a 20 x 10 motorized that fits perfectly on our deck. The install took less than an hour and it functions excellently. We love it.

The SunSetter awning has exceeded our expectations. We saw SunSetter at Costco, they sent somebody out to do a presentation and we liked it, and they had a professional installer do it. Customer service was excellent, the price was reasonable, and we were very happy with our dealings with the company.

We enjoy the awning. The price was right in the ballpark with most other brands. It might have been a little higher, but I thought the quality was there. I know a few people that have SunSetter and they were happy with them. I was already sold on them. The installation was quick. It was faster than I expected. I would recommend.

We installed the SunSetter awning ourselves. The only thing that bothered me was we had to order and pay for extra parts to make it work because it was 14 feet and it didn't come with enough brackets. I feel like it could have come with more brackets in the beginning. Other than that, it was really easy and the quality is great. I would recommend it.

I would recommend SunSetter Awnings. They've got a quality product. Originally, I purchased through Costco and then I recently purchased directly from them. I got shades that come down over my windows. They're solar solar-powered shades, and there's no setup for it. I'm really pleased with their product and the customer service.

Everybody was very nice and good during the installation. Clear explanations and things. The SunSetter awning is on my pool patio and it really provides a lot of shade. I can definitely feel it's cooler underneath there than it is on the rest of the patio.

The guy from SunSetter was very nice. He showed us the different things SunSetter had. I told him what I was looking for, and so then he directed me and said, "Okay, then this is what you need." He measured and it went fine.

I’ve always wanted an awning. I already have one on my camper, and I decided to get another because the sun beats down on that one spot. I didn’t get a big one, just something small to block the sun when it comes out.

Horrible customer service!! Will not install the wind sensor we paid for back in May, 2025. This is August! Company will NOT call us back, nor the installer, yet we understand he has our sensor. Wish we had never let the salesman in our home!! It appears we have lost $400 for a sensor. They've ghosted our calls. Keep going... they'll honor their commitments!!!!

I've heard so much about SunSetter and I like it so far. I like the color and the fabric is good. This is my first summer using it and I love it.

SunSetter seemed to be the best reputable brand out there. We needed an awning because we wanted to use our outside deck more often. It just seemed to be the most cost-effective for our needs. It’s good. I would tell others that it's just a great product.

I installed myself, they work great! They do a good job of making shade and the instructions were fairly easy to follow. I really have no complaints. It is windy where we are and they do billow when down. I do wish they extended more than the 8 foot limit, but they do what is basically needed, block out deck from being in direct sun.

From the initial contact with SunSetter Awnings through installation, I was impressed with their professionalism, customer service, communication, and friendliness. The many color options made it easy to find complementary blinds for my house. The blinds are quiet when they raise and lower. The handheld controls are easy to use. They sell a quality product. I highly recommend SunSetter Awnings.

I went with SunSetter because I needed a 9-ft wide, hand-cranked, and less expensive option than some of the specialized ones. I bought it through Home Depot, and then I had somebody else do the installation for me. But there were parts missing. One of the arms was missing. And two straps that held the screen from moving were missing. I called into SunSetter to try to get those pieces sent to me, and they wouldn’t send them. They said that they can’t just send us parts. And so, I had to reorder a whole new shade from Home Depot, some $600 or whatever the price was, which was ridiculous. And I took out those pieces, and then I returned the shade to Home Depot, saying there were missing parts. Because I already had the screen up and I wasn’t gonna take it down. So, I thought that was terrible on SunSetter’s part not to send out pieces.

We have an area on our patio that was really hot and the southern sun was coming in our window. We couldn't really use our patio because it would get really hot. It would also rain on our patio even though we had a high elevated structure. It was more decorative than it was functional.

The quality of the installation team was very bad because the awning collapsed in June, considering that it was installed by end of May. The SunSetter product is not bad, but the installation is absolutely poor. They came back and fixed it. I do not want to use the installation team again.

I have had SunSetter for years, where I have put in a number of their remote-operated shades, and I have always been happy with it. The automatic withdrawal for high wind is my favorite feature. I have done all the installations, and they have always been very simple and straightforward. Overall, everything has been positive. It is a great product.

We needed something for the front door because when the sun shines on it, it makes the handle and the inside of the house really hot. We saw the ad for SunSetter, and then we had Overhead Door, a supplier, do it. They were great. Everything went right the first time. The quality has been great so far, and it’s working good. So, we’re satisfied.

I bought a SunSetter for my primary residence five years ago from Costco. Couldn’t beat the sale at the time. We really enjoyed the awning there. And then for our beach place, it was really not much to think about.

We had had one before and we wanted to get another one for another home. We went with SunSetter because of the previous pick plus current recommendations. It’s a great retractable awning, the fabric is great and it's even got the lights.

I really like SunSetter's guarantee for fading and stuff like that. We ended up getting the extra large retractable one to cover our patio, and it has that extra piece that rolls up and comes down to block the nasty Virginia sun. They’re not cheap, but they’re worth every penny.

I’ve known about SunSetter for a while, and since my brother had the same shade, I decided to order one for my house. I had someone come out from a company that distributes them to measure and install it, and that install went very well. The awning is a shade to block the sun, and I am satisfied with the one we got.

The SunSetter awning has an almond-colored, almost white covering and made of Sunbrella material. We upgraded to their higher-end material because it had the pattern that we liked and the covering for it matches our trim. When we leave our dock, we just press the button and it rolls up. It is a quality hardware and the fabric is just exactly what we thought. Everything looks great.

Measurement process took two visits and could have been more streamlined. Install was done well, though it had to be rescheduled once due to availability of installers. Shades are working great so far. Block out UV while still giving me a view of the outside.

I bought a free standing motorized Oasis awning from Sunsetter. All in with delivery and installation I paid almost $4k. It worked like a charm for the summer and I was very pleased. During the winter I unplugged it and used the cover they provided for the awning which frankly was impossible to put on and ended up having to bungee cord it. When spring came I plugged it back in and the remote control no longer worked. I replaced the battery in case that was it but it wasn’t. I followed the reset procedures multiple times and that did not work.

We first heard about SunSetter Awning over 20 years ago when we bought our first one. We're very happy that the one we had lasted 20 years. And the fact that we're older now, we just went this year for a new awning that's remote-controlled in and out. It covers my back deck. And it makes it more pleasant to be able to sit out there because the back of the house is in full sun from morning until 2 p.m.

I decided to go with SunSetter after my big offset umbrella became too much for me to manage by constantly filling it with water and hauling it around. The awning was installed, but I wanted it moved over a little bit. So I called the guy that set it up for me and told me that I would need to talk to Laurie, the owner. He was one of the rudest people. I got upset about that, so I talked to Laurie. She couldn’t have been any nicer and apologized and sent me a gift card for my trouble. The awning itself is wonderful. It keeps the back of the house cool when I put it out during the day. Everything is perfect.

Shade screen very overpriced. Not worth 2750.00. They show you very small square sample so when they install it, appears different. I will not purchase again just for the fact it’s too expensive. They sell similar product at Lowe’s for less than half the cost. I wish I would have done my homework on this one.

The initial interaction I had with the customer service was very good, and the SunSetter Awnings installation team was very efficient. Actually, things turned sour because I thought that once you put the shade down, you’d have shade, but it’s not. You still need your sunglasses since it doesn’t provide as much shade as I thought it would. My husband and I have been very unhappy with the product. We feel it was a waste of our money.

I dealt with SunSetter a year ago, and I like it. So I went back to them because I needed shade for the deck I just built.

The SunSetter awning is in the house when we bought it. We recently replaced the fabric of the awning and the installation went fine.

SunSetter was one of the few places that offered the size of awning that we needed without buying a multiple. We got the ivory one with a silver screen, 12-feet long, and solar-powered. We initially had a defective one that we had to send back. The second one worked immediately. It was great at blocking 80% of the light. It would have been nice if it was a little bit more than that. Other than that, the awning is easy to operate and always stays charged. It is also high-quality and cost effective.

Our saleslady from SunSetter was disorganized and the payment options was a little confusing because my salesperson had to talk to somebody else on the West Coast in order to get payment corrected, changed over and processed. They had to adjust because they didn’t get the right numbers on the paperwork and they kept sending over invoices that weren’t correct. And so, our salesperson had to wait on him in order to get the payment. There was a lot of back and forth on getting all the payment taken care of. I also had to manipulate a little bit of the installation in order to get it the way I wanted it but they were fine.

I’ve seen SunSetter's advertising and decided to get an awning because our back deck was in full sunlight for the majority of the afternoon. It really helps with the shade and the costs of keeping it cool. My awning is 16 feet by 10 feet, striped, with 10-year materials. It’s all automated with an electric motor and has a wind sensor.

SunSetter's service is okay, and I'm pleased with the awning. The installation team were good, too. But I thought it was kind of expensive. Just the awning, when they started out at 5,000 and they come down to 4,000 real quick, and then I see the SunSetter is the same one on the commercial now for 700 and some dollars, that’s pretty bad.

We ordered our SunSetter Awning based on the price and the timeline for delivery and installation. Some companies took at least twice as long before we even saw anything.

I've had a SunSetter before and it was the older one. It was about 15 years old. And because I've become so old, it was very difficult to unroll it. I got an automatic, and I love it. We live in the South, we get to go out quite a bit. And in the evenings, in particular, after the sun goes down, it's really very comfortable. We love it.

I am very pleased with my two new awnings. I can operate them remotely and I feel that they have helped to bring my cooling costs down by blocking the hot sun from my windows. I hope they have the same result in the winter by helping to block the cold winds. I wish I had invested in them sooner.

I’m a contractor, so I’ve installed SunSetter Awnings, and I’ve seen them. So, I knew what I was looking for. I’ve got a 16-foot wide x 8-foot extension retractable awning, which was about as big as they could go, and it’s great. I don’t have issues with it. It also has a remote with it.

We're in an HOA where we have a townhome on a lake, and SunSetter was the only option we could use per the bylaws. Because it's on a lake, they also have certain laws and bylaws on what it can look like. We couldn't pick out the color ourselves. We started the process in the fall and got it in the spring. They did the installation in the off-season when we weren't there. I know a lot of people have gotten them over there because we’d lost all our trees. It definitely protects the shade. We really like it. It's like a whole nother little room on our deck for us. It cost a fortune, but we're happy with it. We did have an issue where one of the parts that you rolled down had an imperfection in it. It almost looked like it was from production. And so, they did send us a new piece and that came fairly quickly. Hopefully, if we ever have any other issues, the warranty would be good.

SunSetter’s sales rep was really helpful, which impressed me. The installation was prompt and I’ve had the awning for about four months. The quality is awesome. I love that it retracts in the wind and the stripes look great with my house. They're pricey, but it was okay. I would recommend them.

We have a new deck and we weren't using it enough because of the sun, which is why we got an awning. I just sit out there and relax underneath it. I like the automatic closure and it seems as though it's a sturdy piece of equipment. But we don’t leave it out. We gotta watch the wind around here a bit near the shore, but it's closed itself a few times. It's a motorized awning and it seems to do its job. I don't go around advertising SunSetter but there are quite a few people who have awnings in this neighborhood for the same reasons.

It took about four months. I called him that day and started the whole process with them. But it still took four months to get my money back, and it was a little over $5,000. They haven't paid me at all. I had to call them to say I couldn't even lift the thing, the packaging, because it was so huge and so heavy. It was just left where the delivery folks dropped it on my yard. So I use their recommended installer. And even to this day, they still haven't refunded me for that.

On the day of installation, there were three or four guys that came out, and they were done in less than two hours. We had a pretty good experience. Everything was great with Sunsetter Awnings. With customer service and installation, everything went well. We love what we got from them. It makes a huge difference. The only thing I've noticed about it is that if it's windy, it doesn't go in. It's supposed to have a sensor that, if it detects heavy winds, it's supposed to roll back in, and it's never done that. Maybe it's a sensitivity thing, but it's not a big deal. I can just roll it back in. Maybe the winds haven’t been heavy enough to make the sensor work.

I had it installed in April but I need it more in June, July and August. The sun moves and I wish I knew more about the direction of the sun versus the awning. SunSetter's awning is great. I got the best one that I could get. It has the lights and if there's too much wind, it closes on its own. It's a nice unit and it's very solid. The company that I purchased the unit from did a great job installing it. We got the awning for shade. The deck is exposed to the sun most of the day. The sun comes in on one side in the morning, then on the other side, we have trees that block the sun when it sets 'cause it goes from east to west. When the sun's out, we have the curtain that goes down in the front. We just have to crank it down and that works fine. I don't have an issue with the awning, but I have an issue with the installer and the company that I purchased the unit from.

SunSetter is the biggest name out there and we’ve been wanting an awning for a long time. I went with a local contractor and he was good. But the trucking company lost the awning twice. My contractor got on the phone with the trucking company and somebody from SunSetter because he had two other awnings that were missing. The woman from the trucking company found the awning, but instead of the four weeks that SunSetter told me, it took about seven because they remade it three times. The awning is 12 by 16, motorized, with the sunscreen in the front, and it has stripes. The awning makes our outside experience a lot more pleasant than dealing with the heat. It makes our evenings from being inside to enjoyable outside. The only thing I wish I could use it for is when it rains. But I know I can't.

Overall, the process went well. But now that it’s been a couple of months, the awning is no longer level with the horizon and is slightly tilted. I checked the roof and did not see any visible damage, but I am concerned and I was gonna contact the installer about it. I have the wireless module that allows you to hook up your phone so you can control it remotely and the program is extremely difficult to understand and get working. I don't have that working as of today and I just gave up on it. One day, I'll probably go back and try to figure it out again. But I got frustrated and decided it's not worth it. Overall, I would recommend SunSetter, but I would advise others not to get the wireless adapter.

But it got to a point where I decided to spend the money and get it. So, we did. We love the awning. We had a question about the remote that takes the awning in and out so, I called the number, and it happened to be the owner. So, we talked to her. She came out and sold it to us.

Ordered the 10 ft manual awning through Costco and within a reasonable amount of time it arrived at my home. However, the hood did not arrive. Several phone calls to SunSetter, resulted in them sending me the hood, which took about two more weeks. The problem was with the shipping company, but SunSetter did everything to make it right for me, which I greatly appreciated, so high praise to their customer service team.

I purchased a retractable awning with lights. Lights stop working after 6 months. Contacted Sunsetter and they sent me out a piece and told me to install it or pay someone else to do it. Lights never worked. Please don't purchase.
