I looked at different companies, and SunSetter Awnings seemed the best solution to my problem. A couple of friends and I put it up, and it was easy enough to install. The product is great. However, SunSetter's customer service is horrible. sent me the wrong awning. I called. They insisted that they sent me the right thing as I sat there and read my order to them. It was the wrong color. Also, the power cords are supposed to be on one side or the other so you can reach the outlet that you deal with. I ordered a righthand power cord. They sent a lefthand power cord, and still insisted that they sent the right thing.

The reps from SunSetter were very polite and answered a lot of my questions. They explained what they were going to do and where they were going to mount the awning. They were very good about that. I had a positive experience and the awning, which is electric, helps with the shade during parts of the day.

We ordered an electric-powered awning and SunSetter sent a manual one. The end cap was dented, and the awning was six inches too short. Then, we ordered a certain fabric and they sent the wrong one. They tried to make us, the buyer, at fault for the wrong fabric, and we eventually settled on a fabric that we chose. On one side, it was dark, and on the other side, it was light. Another trip was a defective light strip. It had a light strip on one side that worked fully. It's a two-piece light strip and on the other side, only one of the two parts works. The reps came out multiple times and held us up for a couple of weeks. We didn't get the awning completely installed like we wanted to for a month. Every time they came out, they were missing something.

We have a patio out back and we would like to be able to sit out there in a more comfortable, shady location. We have a neighbor who did business with SunSetter, and we looked at their awning and we liked it, which is why we went with the company. The team did a job with the installation last spring. They brought the wrong remote control and the gentleman who was in charge of the installation made a special trip to drop off the correct one, which was kind of nice. They did a good job. The awning was expensive, but it's been durable, and we're happy that we got it. We've had family around and have used it for sitting outside the patio. We couldn't have done that without the awning, because it would have been sunny and hot.

I saw the SunSetter awning on a TV advertisement and decided to get one. It’s electric so I can press a button to open and close it. Depending on what direction it is, it seems to be alright. But if it gets too windy, we have to roll it in. I'm interested in getting an extension because the awning faces West, and when the sun comes down, it doesn't do anything. I got a little bit hanging down, but I wanted something longer. The rep said they have something that we can order.

We got the SunSetter awning for our rooftop deck because it's too sunny up there. It's a motorized awning so we can take it back and forth because of the wind. It’s working fine thus far, and we like it. It's not a complicated device. It worked for us and others can check it out at Costco.

I was familiar with SunSetter and one of our neighbors had an awning installed. These made me decide to have two awnings installed one year and then we had another one installed the following year. The functionality is very good. Once in a while, the awning will start to go out and then retract, and I have to push the remote again to get it to go out. But it’s not a huge problem.

You need a couple strong guys to help you, but it’s not hard. The product is good. I had it all summer, so, hopefully, it'll work again this summer and for many years to come. It's very expensive it is the size that I wanted. There are a lot of awnings out there that are a whole lot cheaper. They just were smaller or didn't meet my needs for one reason or another.

We were told that when the installation was done, we could slightly extend the awning a little further out over the deck, and we had wanted to do that. We've been trying to reach out to SunSetter Awnings, and left a few messages, but it never happened. Other than that, I'm been very happy with the product, the installation, and the service thus far. I would recommend SunSetter.

A relative had a SunSetter already installed, and I liked the appearance and usability of it. I wanted to install one myself and I went with SunSetter as well. They were good to work with, and it was very easy to maneuver through the website and make my selections. It was very quick once I ordered it, and delivery was good, too. I got a motorized awning and it's attached to the house. We self-installed it and it took us about three hours. The awning is over our deck, so when we're outside and need a shady spot, we'll put it out unless it's too windy. Then it has automatic sensor and goes back in. I would recommend a SunSetter awning. It's very easy to use and a good alternative to umbrellas or other shade characteristic items. But depending on where you are at, if it's too windy, you can't use it. Other than that, I'm very satisfied.

We had a recommendation to go with SunSetter. Several people in our community have them. The installation was perfect. The price was good as well. We were able to afford it. We were real pleased with everything that we got and we love our SunSetter.

When the salesman came out, he did the measurements and showed us our options. It was pretty good. From start to finish, it took four hours. The awning is pretty self-explanatory to use. I would recommend Sunsetter.

I wanted a permanent awning, and my wife decided that she wanted the one that went in and out. Sunsetter was the only brand I knew that did it. The installation guys were very professional. They did a good job. The only thing I was dissatisfied with was the price. It was a little high for what it actually is.

SunSetter Awnings were okay. I had a little issue with their service person, but things worked out. The day of delivery, he didn't do the installation when he was supposed to do it. He told me they haven't sent it yet, but then I found out it was there all the time. I should have had it way before I had gotten it. So far, we haven't really used the awning and I wish we used it more. Whenever someone comes over, they'd go "Ooh, aah”, and then that's all. It's just a showpiece. The reps were very nice when we called and had some questions about a couple of things. The awning was delivered in a truck and they put it where I wanted it. Then, I had my handyman put it up for me. The awning is expensive, but it’s awesome. The only thing is, we have a lot of wind here and I'm not quite sure how much wind it can take. It said 50 but I don't believe that. I like the SunSetter awning but I don’t get to use it too much.

We were at Costco and we talked to the gentleman. He was very nice and we decided to go with SunSetter. We have been talking about getting an awning for years. We should have had it done years ago because we really liked it. The installation was very good. The awning is easy to use and it’s great because we have full sun in the back of our house. It helps a lot. But with winter, we haven’t used it. It’s rolled up. Nobody wants to pay that much, but things have gone up a lot.

SunSetter has the best product available and I'd recommend them. The awning has held up very well through the winter. It has a wind sensor and it closes up with the wind. It has lights on it as well. I like my awning. It looks great and it works great.

The awning made it very useful for us. The gentleman who installed the awning was the same one who convinced me SunSetter was a great company. He came out and showed us samples and how it worked. He was very honest about the best plan to get. We got the motorized awning and it’s attached to the house. It's blue and white with another color stripe. SunSetter was awesome and we’re very thankful for it. The price was worth it. It was a great experience and solved an issue for us. It's something that added to the value and good looks of our house, and I couldn't be more pleased. People should go with them. This is what they want.

I had an awning that was past its time and I needed a new one. SunSetter was the brand that was on the house when I moved in and it did its job for many years, and I decided to stick with it. The sales team was helpful and informative with what I needed. The installation team did a great job and walked me through everything once they were done setting it up. This was done last May and everything went well.

The SunSetter rep I worked with was very good and nice. The installation was good. They were quick. They were there when they said they would be. However, I had some siding that had come loose since they installed it. It's the piece right underneath where they installed the awning. I had a side panel put in afterwards. But it was not worth the money I paid for it. I could have hung a blanket up, and it would’ve done just as well. I was not satisfied with the side panel to block the sun. The installer said, “Yeah. We can get that done." I said, “Okay.” He said, “If you buy it now, it's this price.” It was $360, and it was not worth the $360. It just hangs on the side of it. I was very disappointed with that. The awning itself, I love. But the side panel is very lacking. I would not recommend that to anyone.

Our back deck gets a lot of sunshine and it's too hot to sit outside during the daytime. We've been debating getting an awning for about 10 years and we finally decided to bite the bullet and get one. It fills up with water, and it holds so much water that it will probably tear it off the wall. Being out there and being able to enjoy our deck in a shower or rain ain't gonna happen. Sunsetter was the company I saw being used most often, and they have a good reputation. When I reached out, the guy that owned the franchise came and I didn't have any problems. Everybody was knowledgeable and got us hooked up with what we needed and the awning was a blessing. It's worth the investment and there's a good warranty with it, too. That's nice. Sunsetter is not the cheapest out there, but I do quality over quantity.

I've had a SunSetter awning close to a year and it's great. It does everything it's supposed to do. However, while the manual works, I'm a little disappointed. They were supposed to come out and set it up so it worked with the WiFi and they never did. I've tried to contact them more than once and I gave up.

I saw an awning on CNBC. They had SunSetter and my experience with the company was very positive. The guy that did the presentation and signed us up took about 45 minutes and installation was great. We got a custom electric awning and it took about seven weeks to build, then five hours to install. We're not using the awning now in the winter, but it was great in the summer. It's high quality and I'm very happy with everything.

Generally, we had a positive experience with SunSetter Awnings. The motorized awning was purchased for my mother, a senior citizen. She's 84 years old and I was overseeing her. As much as I told her, “They're going to come in. They're going to give you a quote. So, it keeps the house cooler. Overall, SunSetter is a good company. I'm satisfied with the salesman and the installers. I'm satisfied with the materials, and it looks good. So, everything is fine.

I called a local company, and they sold me a SunSetter. It's a great addition to anybody's patio or deck and it’s been working fine up to now. I have the drape that hangs over the front. It's automatic. It's an electric warning.

I had a SunSetter awning installed when I lived in Virginia. This time around, I looked online for a local vendor and Barbara came out, reviewed what I wanted and where I wanted it, and made wonderful recommendations down to color and fabric. Two gentlemen showed up to do the installation. They were very professional. We got a 16 foot awning, so it was quite a chore. They had the proper tools to set it up. I have vinyl siding on the side of the house, so I was wondering if I was gonna have to take a piece of siding out, but they were able to drill into the header on the wall and you can't even tell. It didn't impact the siding at all. The awning's great. I've already recommended SunSetter to family members. It's a good product.

I did an inquiry with SunSetter through the internet. I'm an older senior and I don't do a lot online. But I went through their online option and it was informative. It was also easy to find my way around it. Considering that I'm not online that often, it still worked out well. Then SunSetter followed up and sent me brochures. I was able to get the colors, patterns and all the information that way. I told them I did a room edition and set it up for a 20-foot-wide awning. They turned around and gave me all the info that I needed.

To start, I am an amputee from the Vietnam War and bought into this SunSetter Awning. I spent over 10k to get the best (I thought)! Since July 25' service has been out twice. The first time the awning had shifted out of level and was corrected. Second service call was because the LED lights had fallen out of the arms. Service came out and put the lights back on. However one of the lights came back down the same day!! I complained to SunSetter and they sent me copies of the owners manual(?) I think they expect me to fix it!! I truly believe they don't know what an amputee is!! It's been more than 6 months so I can't get a refund, which is what I would prefer!! Spent +10k$ for an aggravating piece of junk!!

The SunSetter rep I worked with was very good. The quality of the awning we purchased was very good as well. I should have put those up sooner.

SunSetter Awnings was on our radar for a while. It wasn't too long before it was ordered. Sunsetter installed the awning after a little while. It's beautifully designed. It retracts. We could lower it. We bought the feature where it drops down a bit more so it's four feet lower, and that's beautiful. We live in a neighborhood where our house sits with the sunlight that beats down on the deck. But when we put the awning, the temperature changed like night and day. It was wonderful. If you wanna save money and have a deck or even the back is in the sun, it's going to drastically lower your temperature bills.

I liked what the guy from SunSetter Awnings said. He came to my sister's place and did his spiel. I wasn't gonna get an awning at first because we get a lot of wind out where we are, and my sister was the same way. However, he said they have an automatic one where if it comes to too much wind, it closes itself. So, that sold it to me. The boys came and put it together and didn't take them very long. I was pretty impressed with the awning. I haven't had any problems with it. I was happy with the color, too. It's kind of a slate blue and gray combination. That's very pretty. I have new shutters on the house that match that steel gray look. It also has the same gray steel color for the part of the deck on the floor. So, everything came together. I'm really happy with the whole thing. I’d tell others how much I like it and how well the boys put it together.

We wanted to put some kind of roof over the deck and looked into options, and they were thousands and thousands of dollars. My husband saw something and we decided on SunSetter. We got a very big awning and it’s striped and pretty. It has a remote control, which my husband wanted. This was something that we wanted to have together but he never got to see it. I've recommended SunSetter and the people who got the awning done. They were highly qualified, professional and knew their job well. They completed the job quickly.

We went through Costco and when we went through the materials, I called a couple of different people and this fellow happened to be SunSetter’s representative in the area. He came out and we bought the top line and it's all motorized. It works good from the remote and seems very nice. The awning was installed in about two hours. It was very quick. Halfway through the summer, we used it a number of times. We had the deck in place and people were on that top deck and they were getting sunburned. And when we put the awning in place, they liked it and were very impressed. If people want what we have, they should go for it because it was a very easy purchase and a quick installation, and we’ve had no problems. I’m pleased with everything. The price was affordable and very manageable.

I've got SunSetter awnings at three different houses. I recently purchased it again, and I got the motorized one. It has the wind thing to return it. It's good. We were also happy with every installation. One in Florida, one in Northwest Pennsylvania, and this current one. I love the awnings, especially at the lake house that faces West.

Sunsetter had an installer named Charlie put the awning within the last summer for me, and I love everything about it, except one thing. It was extremely expensive. It was only 8 feet, and it was $3,800. It was steep, but I wanted the awning, so I got it. Sunsetter has a good rating and everything other than the price was good. I love the installation and I love the way the awning works.

We have full sun on our deck and we wanted to get some shading back there. We saw SunSetter Awnings advertised at Costco and we also knew about them because my husband's sister and her husband got SunSetter for their deck. We decided to get a cloth-type awning that extends out with a remote control. It’s working very good, and it serves what we need it to do. But no one mentioned that we needed to bring it in if it was going to rain because it fills with water, which is a major problem.

I found SunSetter through Costco and I'm very dissatisfied with my local installer. He's a contractor that has a contract with Costco and SunSetter, and he places the orders and gets commission. I ordered blinds for a family room window that are manual. He ordered the wrong one and was upset about it because he had to keep it. He ordered the wrong color and then asked if I still wanted it ‘cause I ordered $10,000 in blinds.

I had a SunSetter before and I had to replace it. I got the electric one and the one I purchased recently is newer and it has a better motor. It is also pretty easy to operate, and everybody likes it.

We got a discount for a Sunsetter awning through Costco. We were very happy with our service. I would give them top stars for that. Everything went good.

We were looking for some shading on the south side of the house. We had SunSetter come out and we were pleased with the presentation. The person who came out had all the materials for us to look at. We thought it was reasonable and we completed our transaction at the time of his visit. The installation was very efficient. It didn't take long at all. I like the fact that we can push a button with the awning and have it roll in and out. We are happy with the product and others should use SunSetter as well.

SunSetter has really good quality awnings. But there's a lack of clarity with the instructions to get the thing to work. I had a heck of a time getting the thing to work. But I had to eventually go online and read, and go figure out how to get the little clicker device to make it go up and down. So there was not a lot of good words various times. It took me a long time to get the thing to work. So, there needs to be better clarity on making the clicker thing work. I had to do it online because there was no detail.

We wanted to have a cover made in our patio, so we were looking at some options, and it came across getting a Sunsetter awning. We found out that Costco had a special going on for awnings and if we did it, we would also get a discount. On top of that, we'd get about 20% back of what we paid onto a Costco gift card. That was a win-win. We used that 20% to buy additional pool furniture. So, we thought it was great.

My new SunSetter awning is fine, but the original one was better. We went with SunSetter thinking we can replace it and it'll be better, and it wasn't. The whole design's different. The new one is a freestanding. You just crank it out. The original one had the legs that we brought down. It was a nice, firm base, but they don't make that style anymore. As far as the people in the office, it wasn't an issue. That part of it was good. When the guy showed up and did the install, they put a ton of holes across the siding on the house. They mounted it like a foot higher than the original one because they claimed they couldn't find studs. And in the interim of doing that, they punctured a ton of holes and put a bunch of silicone. It was crooked. It was a mess, so we had to call Sunsetter back and get the guys.

We were looking for a back patio cover, and a lot of the bigger covers are a lot more expensive. So my father decided to look into a SunSetter and got the guy to come out. We asked him questions, and it was just more affordable for us. The awning is very nice. It's more of a brown color. We got things to match the house because of our HOA. It has the light package so we have lights at night, and has the remote where you just hit the button and it comes in and out, so we really like it. It seems to be made of really good quality. We haven't had any issues with it, and we get a lot of wind around here. Getting SunSetter is more affordable than putting in an entirely huge back patio over the back of your patio. Also, it's convenient and doesn't take as long to install as you would think.

Their team came in, got it done, and left. The installation happened a little bit sooner than the timeline. So, it worked out really good. Our awning is motorized and, knock on wood, it's been really good. We've sure enjoyed it.

We came to SunSetter because of their reputation and we've been wanting to get their awning for many years. Finally, we had the money and we decided to do it. I put the thing on the website because I wanted information. Then Sarah called back immediately. She scheduled the appointment for them to come and there was no waiting. She was very responsive. Usually, you get the runaround from companies but Sarah said she'd be here when we were available. So, that happened very quickly and when she came to our house, she explained everything. She answered every question that we had and she wasn't pushy. It wasn't your usual sales pitch, where there'd be obnoxiousness from the reps.

I bought a brand-new home and had a SunSetter awning built there. The installers ended up not taking much time to install it. They were smart. They offered options, but we didn't choose any of them there. We have a beautiful patio with a beautiful awning above it. The patio is a stone patio with nice pillars around it. When you extend the awning, it's perfect because it's like a ceiling of a house. It makes it feel like home. It's nice that you can push a button, and it goes in and out easily. Also, we have a nice pond in the back and it sets the whole backyard up nicely, better than anything else could go up there. We had no rips, tears, or anything else in it. Buy it. It's the perfect product. It works great. I wouldn't buy anything else.

I recently replaced my old SunSetter awning, and the size and model of the new one is the same as what I had previously. I live in Arizona, so I use it when the heat comes. I don't usually use it in the winter time because I don't need it. I love the functionality of the SunSetter product that's why I continue buying it. I'm not impressed with SunSetter Awnings. I bought an awning last year and I had nothing but problems between the delivery and a broken part. They were supposed to let me know when the awning was coming, but they showed up and wound up dropping it in the driveway. It was a 19-foot thing that needed two people to carry it. That started it all, then the broken part that I didn't figure out until I got the thing up in place. They made me send pictures. They didn't come. I did everything over the computer and took pictures of the broken part.

I purchased a window shade for outside my porch. I sit in the porch and use the computer and needed something that would block the sun but not on the inside of the window. This solar power shade with remote was the perfect solution! I was very pleased with it initially, it did exactly what I needed it to do. Unfortunately after several months I couldn't get it to come down. Salesperson came and made adjustments and it worked for a short while but stopped again. I have requested a replacement. The other unfortunate thing is it takes a really LONG time to get the product, initially and now as well. I have been waiting for the replacement over a month. I must say, in spite of the issues, it turned out to be the perfect solution.

Also, Sunsetter told me the lights would be in it, but when we got it, there were no lights. I called and asked for the lights. The rep denied that the lights would come with it.

We had the option to install the awning ourselves but we had SunSetter install it, figured being under warranty, and there should be no issues with it. However, the installers could've had better training. Instead of finding the studs, they started drilling and messed up a bit of the siding, and mounted the awning, but it was the wrong one. It was supposed to be the biggest one. But they made good for everything they have done.

We had SunSetter’s EasyShades installed and there were some issues during the installation, but it went fairly well. There were some broken end caps on the shades that the installers had to replace and they had a difficult time getting one of them adjusted right. Another one quit working and then the ones that they had to adjust quit working again. So, they've been out about three times to take care of the problems, but that hasn't been an issue. They came right out within a day. The shades are overpriced but we love them. We put them outside, which is what they’re designed for, and they changed the environment in the house, especially during the summer, 10-fold.

It’s been working perfectly. We always tell people to get an awning. It was expensive but it was worth it. SunSetter has financing, which made it easier to do.

For quite a few years, I wanted to buy an awning because it gets so hot at the back of my house. I've always seen SunSetter's advertisements and flyers in the mail, and I've inquired about them. The contractor who did the installation contacted me when I inquired about it. They let me know the size options, difference between manual and electric rollout, fabric options, and mounting options whether it's rooftop mount or underneath the gutter mount. I went with the rooftop as it was another probably 18 inches of head clearance. As you get farther out from the house, the awning slopes down for runoff so below would have put the roof of the awning pretty low on the outward end.

SunSetter's sales representative was good. He knew his stuff. However, I had set aside half of the day for the installation, but they were three hours late. They were in the middle of the job and I had to leave. They finished it, but there were a couple things that I don't think were put in the right place. They're outdoors and they were gonna be behind the post, but that is not where they put them. The awning is fine and the quality is good, but it was very unfortunate that I could not be there to see exactly what they were doing. I'm happy with the product but it didn't turn out the way I thought it was going to.

SunSetter was cheaper than other competitors. However, they had to replace the awning part three times. Also, I was disappointed that I couldn't sit out there when it was raining because it gathered water. It didn't tilt enough and there's no way to tilt any more for that water to run off. I had to push it off. I didn't know that I couldn't sit in the rain. I probably wouldn't have even bought it.

Initially, the rep had to come back out and move the battery higher, because when the sun started dropping in the fall, we weren't getting enough sun on the battery to power it. And the other thing is when it's cloudy and rainy, we're not getting sun. It doesn't work at all. I'm not out there anyway but it is a thing to be considered and I didn't think about that. If anyone is going to do the battery one, I would tell them to better put it some place where it's gonna be getting sun.

I spent nearly $7,000 on a Sunsetter awning in May, and it has been nothing but problems. The motor never worked correctly from day one, and the aluminum cover was cut too short at the factory—a defect I noticed immediately. I repeatedly contacted my salesperson about these issues and was assured they would be resolved. Nothing was ever fixed. No follow-up. No accountability. For a product at this price point, the quality and customer service are completely unacceptable. This company does not stand behind its product, and I regret this purchase. I would strongly caution others before spending their money here.

I am so happy with our awning! It is beautiful and really makes it so pleasant to sit on our patio. The installers were friendly, knowledgeable and fast workers. Rain or Shine Retractable ordered and installed our awning. Excellent communication throughout and excellent during the install. Showed up as promised with a crew of three. The install was a little challenging due to the awning being partly on window trim and partly on clapboards, but they were super careful to make sure everything was well supported.

I chose a middle range awning in black. I got raised eyebrows from other people, but I liked it. The man who installed it was excellent. He had the sweeper and he picked up all the sawdust. If I could have my whole houses done by him, I would have done it.
