I've had SunSetter Awnings for almost a year. They're the one that people have better comments on and better reviews. Their customer service was good. Somebody came out and installed the awning. He was good, too.

We had a great experience with SunSetter. We talked to their rep. Then he came out, brought samples, and we talked through all of the pricing. Everything was very thorough. The installation was fast. They did a great job. We were very happy with the results. Our electric awning is great. We used it last summer. We had people come over, and everybody was impressed with the awning.

We got a 20-foot-wide awning from SunSetter, and it covers our entire deck. We really like the lighting. However, it's not as stable as a permanent structure. But, it's doing what they said it would do. It is susceptible to wind. But we've had a time or two where it retracted due to wind. If others got outdoor furniture and they wanna keep it dry, I would opt for a more permanent solution. But if they're just looking for something that provides shade, it's a good option.

We have a big window that gets a ton of sun exposure, and it heats up our living room. It's really bright, and we wanted to be able to block it out in the summer, so we got an electric screen from SunSetter through Costco. The installers were great. I would use them again.

We wanted something that we could easily install ourselves. We went with SunSetter Awnings and purchased one online, and it's worked out great. The awning has been functioning fine.

We had a Sunsetter guy come in to do the presentation and he did a great job. We absolutely love it. We did the installation ourselves. My husband is pretty handy so it was easy to do. We got the electric awning and it really works well.

I love our SunSetter awning, so far. Costco was running a special where we would get $1,000 back from them if we purchase an awning from SunSetter. The guy who installed it was excellent. They were always in contact, and they came when they said they were gonna come. They finished quickly. So far, we have no issues. We just had it installed in April, so we'll see how it is when we open it up again come spring. Quality-wise, it's good. It's electric. I already referred SunSetter and said it was great.

I had wanted an awning at a previous house and didn't get one and thought it would be perfect for my house here. Friends of mine have a SunSetter, so I also went with them. Their team was great. They were really helpful. I got a motorized awning and as far as the installation, it didn't take them very long at all. I didn't think about where the sun would be when it would be the hottest. I should've had it extended just a little bit farther out.

I had a hard time having an umbrella on my table because of the wind. I thought an awning would look really nice in our house and give us more shade, so we tried it. Installation was efficient and fast. I got the motorized awning, and I would recommend it.

My wooden awning that I had up here over my patio had gotten blown away by the wind a year ago. I needed something to keep some of the sun out in the afternoon in my family room. SunSetter came to mind and we looked it up. I had the awning installed last May and it has a remote control. However, when the company put it up, the tech asked me how high I wanted it. I've never had one before, so I didn't realize. I told him as high as it would go. When the sun comes out, it comes under the awning. I was gonna call the company's number out one day this week and see if I could get them to come back. I know it will charge me this time, but I would like to see if I can have it lowered a bit because the sun comes under it still too much. That was my fault. Other than that, I'm pleased with my awning. Also, the workers were very nice. Everything on their part was done very well.

I got a SunSetter flyer 10 years ago. I got an awning. However, I tried getting another awning for the front of the house but the lady bullshitted me. So, I called SunSetter again. They did a great job on the first one. We installed the second one. They're not cheap but you get what you pay for. I recommended SunSetter.

SunSetter has a good reputation and when we had the awning installed, we had a positive experience. The team was well-qualified and thorough. The awning has lights and a wind sensor, and works great. It's worthwhile.

We've wanted an awning since we moved in, but we never could afford it. When it came time where we could afford it, we got one from SunSetter. Our experience with them has been very good. Though they didn't give a timeline for the installation, they were quick. The installers were very polite and hardworking. I'd recommend SunSetter for those who want an awning.

The representative was very personal and knowledgeable. We had the option to install the awning ourselves but we had SunSetter install it, figured being under warranty, and there should be no issues with it. However, the installers could've had better training. Instead of finding the studs, they started drilling and messed up a bit of the siding, and mounted the awning, but it was the wrong one. It was supposed to be the biggest one. But they made good for everything they have done.

We had SunSetter’s EasyShades installed and there were some issues during the installation, but it went fairly well. There were some broken end caps on the shades that the installers had to replace and they had a difficult time getting one of them adjusted right. Another one quit working and then the ones that they had to adjust quit working again. So, they've been out about three times to take care of the problems, but that hasn't been an issue. They came right out within a day. The shades are overpriced but we love them. We put them outside, which is what they’re designed for, and they changed the environment in the house, especially during the summer, 10-fold.

SunSetter’s reps provided good service and answered all our questions. They were easy to get hold of, came timely, cleaned up after themselves and all the things that you want when you have a contractor working at your home. We got the largest awning you can get but still a single awning and a smaller one in another part of the house. They're retractable and have the wind mitigation retraction. It’s been working perfectly. We always tell people to get an awning. It was expensive but it was worth it. SunSetter has financing, which made it easier to do.

We told the Sunsetter sales rep what we were looking for. He was professional, showed us the different options, and helped us pick out the one that looked best on our home. It solved what we needed.

SunSetter was the only ones that I knew that would install the awnings for me because I'm a senior. I found them online and I should have known better. The awning was expensive and SunSetter kept changing the price. The installation was quick but the awning makes a little bit of a noise. The guy walked me through it and said that I had a warranty. But a warranty without paper doesn't mean anything. I've contacted the company and they responded the next day, but I have not received the warranty that they promised me.

One of the features that I like was that if it's open and it's very windy, it will close automatically. I'm a satisfied customer and I'd recommend them to a friend.

I wanted an awning as I get a lot of sun here in our backyard. I went with SunSetter and so far, it's been good. The awning rolls out and rolls back in with the remote. The awning is perfect, except I got a 7 x 10 and I wish I would have went the next size up.

The installation was turnkey. However, I've had some trouble with the solar receptors, and I've had to replace them. Other than that, I am very much enjoying the service I'm getting. I have these outdoor shades that come down and block the glare and the sun, but not the light from my sunroom. The shades have helped me enjoy reading and watching television in the sunroom. I have recommended SunSetter. I have told others how happy I am with these shades. They really like the way that it helps me, and they're considering doing it themselves.

I needed an awning in my backyard, so I called SunSetter. They sent somebody out, we went over a few things and set up a date to install. The installation was quick and once I saw the awning, I loved it. It is worth the money.

For quite a few years, I wanted to buy an awning because it gets so hot at the back of my house. I've always seen SunSetter's advertisements and flyers in the mail, and I've inquired about them. The contractor who did the installation contacted me when I inquired about it. They let me know the size options, difference between manual and electric rollout, fabric options, and mounting options whether it's rooftop mount or underneath the gutter mount. I went with the rooftop as it was another probably 18 inches of head clearance. As you get farther out from the house, the awning slopes down for runoff so below would have put the roof of the awning pretty low on the outward end.

SunSetter's sales representative was good. He knew his stuff. However, I had set aside half of the day for the installation, but they were three hours late. They were in the middle of the job and I had to leave. They finished it, but there were a couple things that I don't think were put in the right place. They're outdoors and they were gonna be behind the post, but that is not where they put them. The awning is fine and the quality is good, but it was very unfortunate that I could not be there to see exactly what they were doing. I'm happy with the product but it didn't turn out the way I thought it was going to.

SunSetter was cheaper than other competitors. However, they had to replace the awning part three times. Also, I was disappointed that I couldn't sit out there when it was raining because it gathered water. It didn't tilt enough and there's no way to tilt any more for that water to run off. I had to push it off. I didn't know that I couldn't sit in the rain. I probably wouldn't have even bought it.

The original awning was 20 couple years old, beat up, and was a manual. I wanted to upgrade. Neighbors had SunSetter installed and they were satisfied. I knew the installer and so we called him for a bid. Installation took a couple hours because they had to remove the other one. I am very happy with the motorized awning. It was good value for the money.

Our house is new and we had nothing on our patio so we decided to get an awning from SunSetter since a lot of people in our neighborhood use them. We did a solar battery one. Initially, the rep had to come back out and move the battery higher, because when the sun started dropping in the fall, we weren't getting enough sun on the battery to power it. And the other thing is when it's cloudy and rainy, we're not getting sun. It doesn't work at all. I'm not out there anyway but it is a thing to be considered and I didn't think about that. If anyone is going to do the battery one, I would tell them to better put it some place where it's gonna be getting sun.

I spent nearly $7,000 on a Sunsetter awning in May, and it has been nothing but problems. The motor never worked correctly from day one, and the aluminum cover was cut too short at the factory—a defect I noticed immediately. I repeatedly contacted my salesperson about these issues and was assured they would be resolved. Nothing was ever fixed. No follow-up. No accountability. For a product at this price point, the quality and customer service are completely unacceptable. This company does not stand behind its product, and I regret this purchase. I would strongly caution others before spending their money here.

I am so happy with our awning! It is beautiful and really makes it so pleasant to sit on our patio. The installers were friendly, knowledgeable and fast workers. I think the awning adds value to our house and definitely adds to our enjoyment. The price was reasonable and the service was excellent. I recommend this company with no reservations. The salesperson we met with originally did not pressure us, gave good design advice.

Rain or Shine Retractable ordered and installed our awning. Excellent communication throughout and excellent during the install. Showed up as promised with a crew of three. The install was a little challenging due to the awning being partly on window trim and partly on clapboards, but they were super careful to make sure everything was well supported.

The two guys worked hard to get the awning right. They had to take it down and put it back up again. They did quite a nice job and everything worked out fine once we got it set up. We put the awning in one place and we leave it there because it's an awning on the outside to shield that room from the sun. It’s working. The price was a surprise though and reminded me the pandemic had changed everything. We didn’t look elsewhere but we got a discount through Costco.

I had put a little deck and porch on the back of the house, and hoped that an awning would make the porch cooler. However, I'm disappointed with the privacy shade. I was under the impression that it would obscure the view when you put the shade down. I can see through it. I have neighbors in the back that have a mess in their yard. That's why I wanted the sunshade to help obliterate that view. I was not happy about that. I paid a lot of money for it. It's a small awning, so it was pricey, but I like it. The siding is tan so it matches beautifully. It's a nice pattern. I would recommend SunSetter and the people who installed it. They were great. They forgot a part and had to come back. But it was done properly.

The salesman from SunSetter was a little bit confusing but I finally got to choose what I wanted. He suggested different fabrics and colors. He had a book and explained everything. I chose a middle range awning in black. I got raised eyebrows from other people, but I liked it. The man who installed it was excellent. He had the sweeper and he picked up all the sawdust. If I could have my whole houses done by him, I would have done it.

For several years during COVID, we had been hoping to get a screen and enclosure, but we were previously given an estimate in error because they didn’t realize our septic system was there, so that option wasn’t possible. I decided to look into SunSetter because the quality and materials were at the same level. I reached out to my local representative and the gentleman who came out was personable. It was like the gentleman was somebody I had grown up with. He was easy to talk to and didn't feel like he was trying to trick me into anything. He gave me every single option and said why it's a better value to do what I was going to do, which was more expensive, but it was all the way to go. It was a positive experience. The installers had to come back for an adjustment and they had no problem with that.

I got a manual-type awning from SunSetter and got a local guy for the installation. He was very knowledgeable, knew what he was doing and did it all in a few hours. I was very satisfied with it.

My experience with SunSetter has been good. The installers explained how everything worked. The awning has worked fine since they put it up there. So far, so good. It's going through its first winter now, so we'll see how it works in the spring.

I learned about SunSetter from Costco. Everything went well with the installation, and the awning has been working well ever since.

We love our new SunSetter electric retractable awning. We had an awning before, but we moved to a different house. The customer experience was wonderful. We live in an HOA community and had to wait for approval, and despite a glitch in their process, they were wonderful. The installers were great.

SunSetter Awnings was excellent. I was shocked at how fast they were able to not only get the awning made to where the material matched my house, but also how quickly they put it up. I was nervous at first because the installers looked like they were right out of high school. They were two young guys. But they got up there and made it happen. Afterwards, I climbed up there and everything looked good. It was sealed well against the asphalt tile roofing, and I haven't had any drips, so I'm satisfied. I was bragging to my neighbor about it this weekend and he said he didn't know that the awning came out all the way to the end of my deck. I'll usually only roll the awning out halfway, because, for some reason, I need to turn the sensitivity down, because as soon as the wind blows a little bit, it rolls back up.

Our backyard faces west, so we couldn’t sit on the patio. I saw ads and decided to try SunSetter. The salesperson was very nice. And the installers did a professional, clean job. We got a motorized awning with a bronze frame and a top in beige, white, and dark beige, about 10 x 9 feet, with lights, attached to our house. It was a very smooth experience. Everything was very easy to deal with. SunSetter was excellent.

I'd heard of SunSetter, but my husband knew of people who had had SunSetter installed before, and it was all good things.

We were using a pop-up umbrella, got annoyed with it, and thought it’d be better to get an awning. SunSetter had a good deal at Costco so we went with that and then paid somebody else to install it. The awning is heavy, so they struggled with it a bit and they had three guys working on it.

I salvaged an old awning and put it up. I liked it, but it was old and not very functional, and so I just decided to replace it with a SunSetter. I got exactly what SunSetter said it would be and it's worked.

SunSetter customer service was great. The installers came back to do adjustments a couple of times, and it was wonderful. Everything's been going fine, except my remote control stopped working. I put in a new battery, and it still didn't help. The price is high, but I would recommend the product.

I got good service from SunSetter Awnings. The gentleman from Rockford came down to our house, measured. I told him what we were looking for, and they ordered it. Five weeks later, it was ready to be installed. The installers were helpful, careful, had it installed in 90 minutes, and they did a wonderful job. I had a great experience.

The salesman came in. He went over what we needed and what our picks and choices were. He told me it’d be ordered in a certain amount of time. When it arrived, he called me up, and they installed it. The installers were competent and efficient, cleaned up, and did a nice job. I'm satisfied with the product itself, and also with the salesman and the installers.

We got 18 x 14 feet and 12 x 10 feet attached motorized awnings. Our patrons got tired of sitting out in the sun, so it was time to get them. I know people who have used SunSetter in the past. I told the installers where I wanted it, and they got it all taken care of. I will go with them again if we need some more awnings. I also referred it to two or three friends.

SunSetter Awnings has been good to me. When I moved into my home about four years ago, it had one SunSetter awning. It was put on a house that was 16 years old. And I found that it would be necessary to replace that awning. So, I had two SunSetter awnings installed about a year ago, and I'm satisfied with them.

We like that we don’t have to have the SunSetter awning out all the time. When it's nice out, we can roll it back up, and that’s what we needed for our deck. We knew it'd be pricey, but it was more than we thought. Installation was okay. They cleaned up and showed us how to operate the awning.

I had a rental property which had a sun problem, and I was trying to create a dining area by having the awning to help define that space. This property, I rented to a bunch of college girls, and so I wanted to have pretty good maintenance or automation with it.

We took down a tree that stood right out back of the sunroom on the back of the house. It required something to screen us from the hot summer sun. Sunsetter's product looked like the engineering was done real well. It's a motorized 18-footer, a big one and just the right length for the deck. Once we got it all in, it's amazing, especially for its sheer size. The fabric that we chose goes really well with the house, and it really adds an element to the back of the house. Especially in the summer, we put it out probably every day. What really sold me on it was the local representative that came out, presented the product, and looked at what was necessary. They've provided tremendous service for us too in the meantime.

I had a very positive experience with SunSetter and would recommend it. The product, consultation, and installation were all successful and good. I got the basic non-motorized one. I'm very happy with it.

SunSetter Awnings had the better choices. I got the wind sensor, and that's really been helpful ‘cause I don't have to worry if I leave and the wind comes up. My experience with the SunSetter Awnings team was good, and installation was fine. The gentleman that came out was attentive and professional.

SunSetter Awnings is extremely high quality at a fair price. We bought it at Costco, and a Costco installer installed it. I like how it automatically opens and closes.

We ordered the largest motorized awning available. We go tired of manually opening and closing our umbrellas. We gave it all away. The installation took only a couple of hours. The SunSetter opens in seconds with just a press of the remote control button, and the awning is absolutely beautiful. We are the envy of our neighborhood!!

Installer reported that he had snapped one of the lag bolts on the frame but it should be fine. After I considered the information I asked him to come back out and replace the bolt. He repeated that it was fine and to just keep an eye on it. When the awning opens the brace on that side of the unit make a snapping sound. I don’t know if this is related or not. Guess I’ll just keep an eye on it.

We absolutely love our 20' electric retractable awning. It even has a wind sensor and it will put itself away when it's too windy. I highly recommend this awning. It is very quiet. It was professionally installed in a couple of hours. We could not be happier. Thank for a job well done

Excellent all the way, installers were first class polite, efficient, cleaned up, explained all operations. Awning works well as advertised. Absolutely zero complaints five star all the way. Do it again? Oh Yea!

The awning was for a customer of mine and was installed by a SunSetter affiliate. I didn't see the installation, but the customer was pleased. They saw the product before it went in and after, and they were happy.

We wanted to install awnings to provide much needed shade during the hot weather and sun and be able to use space out of doors when it was inclement weather like rain. I was aware of the quality of SunSetter’s product and I found their pricing to be very competitive. Their pricing was not the lowest from the bids that I received, but the reputation of the company and the quality of the product were more the deciding factor.

We have a large uncovered portion of our deck, and we wanted something that would provide more protection from the sun while adding a bit of privacy, since we live on a golf course and get a lot of people passing by.

We just had a new patio at the back of our house, and I saw my sister had installed an awning from SunSetter. I really liked it, so I thought, “I’d like to have that.” It cuts out the sun pouring into the house. I like the look, because I got colors that went with my house. We get lights underneath it in case we have a cookout at night. I think they were a little expensive. It’s not something you just randomly do unless you really thought it out.

SunSetter Awnings was convenient for us. We weren’t using our patio because we get a lot of direct sun on it. We bought the piece that goes down to block the sun, not only over the top, but on the side of the patio too. My only issue with it is you got to do a lot of adjusting. We bought a really long one that goes out far. I don't know if it's a design issue or they just didn't train us properly on how to do it. Since it’s so long, if you look out from our kitchen, you can see the left side of the awning is higher than the right side or vice versa. My husband is an engineer and he goes out there and adjusts it every time we pull it out. Doing that maintenance on it is annoying.

I haven’t had the best experience with SunSetter. They sold me a SunSetter that’s defective and they don’t have the part to correct the issue. The part that they put on it keeps tearing the fabrics. I’ve paid for the product and the installation and still can’t use it after eight months.

We have a SunSetter awning over the back deck. Customer service was excellent. The salesperson, installer, everything was just amazing. I’ve never had an install go so well. My neighbor and my sister have SunSetter awnings as well.

I got my SunSetter awning because it's nice to be on the deck without the sun beating down, and it's really nice. I really like it. It has the motor that automatically rolls it out and rolls it back up. Whenever we're out there and wanted to roll it out, it really makes it nice. I don't use it every day, but I use it at least twice a week. It's just really good.

We chose SunSetter based on the warranty, price, and size, because we have a giant patio with a swing and a table that seats six or eight, and we wanted to be able to have that covered. We utilize it probably every other weekend in the summer and some weekdays. Mostly on the weekdays, we're using it to cover the sandbox because my youngest loves the sandbox.

SunSetter customer service was excellent. The only thing is I ordered one that has the screen that you manually roll down from the sun, and for some reason, it did not work properly and had to be replaced, and it took several weeks to arrive. But it wasn’t a major hiccup.

We built a new deck and wanted an awning. SunSetter’s advertisements looked pretty good and they had reputation. We got an ad in the mail, and that was when we decided to do it. We got a motorized, attached one, a striped 20 feet wide by 13 long awning that was very expensive. We also bought some extra things with it. It seems very durable. We put it out when we’re out on the deck. Having sun exposure on the deck most of the day, it makes the deck a lot more usable.

I wanted an awning for a long time, and a friend got one. I loved it so much so I used the same people. SunSetter, to me, has always been the best product and so I had it installed. Their reputation and their customer service just hits the right spot.

They then shipped it to the house in a timely fashion. The installation instructions were easy to follow, and we got it up and installed with relative ease. SunSetter is a high-quality product, and so far, I have no issues with it.

We've been fully satisfied with SunSetter Awnings. I got the it through a company in Jacksonville Florida, and the owner was awesome, and wonderful to deal with, and I got a $750 Costco gift card for getting SunSetter through them. She followed up and checked along the way, and that's how you want your people to be. Installation went on without incident, no problems.

We needed a retractable awning. SunSetter provided the width that we needed and could extend to the length that we needed. And we need the motorized one. They had the product we wanted, so that’s why we purchased it. And I did everything myself. I went online, ordered it, and they delivered everything that they said they're gonna deliver. The installation is easy if you read the whole manual.

We looked at two companies and were on the fence. The other person was a typical salesman and didn’t seem to care much. The other guy from SunSetter Awnings gave us a better price, not by a lot of money, and he recommended his product. We found the products very similar, but the mounting brackets were a little bit sturdier. That appealed to us because we were attaching it to the soffit. It seemed like a lot of money, but we really needed the product. If it works and it lasts us a long time, then it's worth it. We've already seen it as a big help.

My father has a similar awning, and since a spot at our house was too hot, we decided to get the same one he has. I just worked with the installers, who doesn't exclusively work for SunSetter's, and didn’t actually reach out to anyone at SunSetter. I got no complaints. It was good. They installed a blue-and-white striped motorized awning attached to our house, 20-feet wide and as deep as we could get it. The installation was smooth. Two guys showed up, we talked about the height, and they were done in a couple of hours. I've recommended SunSetter to other people that have a similar deck.

We have a SunSetter awning on our last house and we liked it. So, we had them do it again on this house. We've never had a problem with any of our SunSetter awnings and we're happy with it.

I saw SunSetter’s TV commercials and did some research online. The presentation was okay but I had an issue with the contracted installer. SunSetter sent somebody out and the guy did something. I had water leaking between the house and the awning because it appeared dented. It was dropping weight at the entrance way. I picked a bronze color flashing and when they bent it, it was white. It looked terrible. It was something they could have easily done, painting the backside of it. The guy who works for SunSetter ended up coming back and fixing it so it looks nice now. But when I was talking to the guy who did the installation, he screwed up. After I sent him photographs of what I was talking about, he recanted a little bit.

I needed some shade. I have looked into SunSetter several years ago and I had friends that had SunSetters who said that they really enjoyed them. So, I went to their rep in the Escanaba area and I talked to them. They were friendly and joking around about things. They took me into the shop and showed me different situations. They also had one up in their shop, so they could open it up to let people see how it was. Then they came out and measured everything for me. They told me what I needed and never pressured me into buying something I didn't need or want. They had to order my awning and after a couple of weeks, they installed the awning for me. In fact, I was one of the first people for that season to be installed. The representative of the company and his buddy came out, and they had it up within two hours. It went well.I got a 10 x 8 that has a wind sensor on it, and it's got a manual and automatic crank-out.

We had a SunSetter awning for over 20 years and it got damaged in the wind. It took two of us to put it up and put it down. So, I got a new one with the remote, and I love it. SunSetter's team was very good during my purchase. I called and talked to a person who was very helpful, Julie. Then I talked to somebody else that was on the other end and I was happy with that rep as well. They explained everything and helped me order the right one. And when it came, they put it right there where it needed to be put up, so we didn't have to haul it anywhere. I got the motorized one and it's blue. I've got a table and chairs in the area, and I sit out there and have coffee. When the sun comes up right out there on that side of the house, it blocks the sun. If anybody's thinking about getting one, I would tell them to go get a SunSetter.

The sales guy was very kind and very knowledgeable in his field. He suggested an awning, and I thought it would look nice, so that was what I got. The neighbors and my tenants even love the color that I chose. He gave me a cover and told me that this is what I have to do before winter. So I was adamant on my tenants to do this before winter. They even let it open and air dried it so there was no water in there, which was good.

We originally purchased our Sunsetter electric awning in 2003. Believe it or not it lasted until 2023. The motor finally gave up and the awning material was deteriorating so we decided to replace the motor and the awning canvas. What started as 5-8 weeks ended up being 5 months but ok it's up. We had issues from the get go with the motor tripping our breaker and after the contractor came out numerous times felt all was good. Fast forward to 2025 kept blowing the breaker, was told it was our wiring. After having an electrician troubleshoot our wiring, they said it was the motor. Called Sunsetter and even though I have paperwork that says the motor has a 5 year warranty apparently they were bought out and/or relocated and now only offer 1 year warranty. Today the contractor verified the motor was bad and would need to be replaced at our expenses. Not at all happy with their customer service. Used to be an excellent product, but not so sure now.

I ordered the awning through Costco and it has very good quality. It’s all remote control. It's an excellent and fair price.

I have SunSetter's multi-colored 16-foot wide electric awning. I had the professionals install it and I had a great time with the crew. Everything was good. When the sun is burning under the deck, I use it.

SunSetter was great. There were a few hiccups, but they fixed it. Everything was fine. We had a problem with the electricity, but it turned out to be it wasn't SunSetter's fault. They came out and looked at it and told us to call an electrician. It wasn't the unit. So they were really great about that. The only thing that I don't like about the awning is that for the cord to come down, there's a big metal and even though you can see it, it's a different color, and it's wide. Everyone has tripped over it. But there's no other way to do it because that's how it makes it sturdy. It comes out like a T on both sides on the bottom, and it's going to be a hazard that way. But that's just the way it's made.

When we bought the house, it already had SunSetter Awnings on it. So, we just replaced them after we lost it in the ice storm. We went with what we knew. We got the electric awning for the one over the deck for the convenience. We like it. The guy that came out and did the assessment for the awning did a really good job of assessing what we needed and what would hold up in a storm. My wife picked out the colors, and they match pretty well. It's what we were looking for. We're really happy with the awning. We also like the fact that it's protective of our ability to sit on our deck. The salesperson and the team that put it in did a really good job.

I got the biggest attached motorized awning from SunSetter. It was installed near the pool area. Overall, was an okay experience. The awning is great. I like the lights at the top of it. But once you set the awning, you have to pull it back in if it's high wind.

The salesperson and installers were very good. Everything was good, except that I have a small area and it was a lot of money for that. Sunsetter was pricey.

We were doing a home expansion and put a new patio on, and we decided to add awnings to it. My wife found SunSetter on the internet and we purchased two of the cantilever type on our property. We put one over our picnic area and the other over our hot tub. The automatic retraction was a big feature because we live in a windy area and we didn't want the awnings to get destroyed. We love it. It’s excellent.

We had an awning that we purchased five years ago. We decided that we had another area that needed to be covered from the sun. We went ahead and ordered another one. I also had one put up in Alaska and I got it up there, and it worked really well. So we decided we’d do that here. Sunsetter did their work well, and they did what we wanted to do. I installed them up there in Alaska. They were fairly easy to install. I didn't read the instructions twice. But down here in Arizona, they were so long. I had to hire somebody and that guy is out of Tucson. He came down here on time. They shipped them to him. He brought them down. All the parts were there. Everything was there at one time. The ones up north are manual. The ones down here, we put the electric control on them. He set all that up and had it all done. It took him about six hours to get it all done. They've been working perfectly since then.

When we moved to Florida, we had seen some advertising about SunSetter. We called a number that we got and they sent a representative out. As a matter of fact, they were an installer representative. They did the installation and it went very well. It was seamless at that point. We really enjoy the product. We really like it. We bought one for the front and one for the back. We got them installed in late May. We went away for five weeks and it was sunny when we left and we forgot to close them, actually. When we came back, the front one was closed and the back one was broken. So, we called.

The guy from SunSetter who came out was very nice and great, but it was just weird because the bid that he gave me was way more expensive than me just buying it online directly from SunSetter. So, I never called him back, and I just bought it directly from SunSetter. It was really weird. It was like a couple of thousands more. Maybe he just tried to sell me something I didn't want. It wasn't a big deal. I still went with SunSetter. I just thought maybe it just costs more to have somebody come out and do it all. I was able to have somebody install it for me for $300. So, it didn't really make sense to pay for their installation. Other than the confusion with the guy coming here, it's been great. I've had to call because I had some user error issues on my part. They've been really great about sending the information right away. They emailed me within two minutes with the answers to how to fix it.

It's really hot in Las Vegas, and I have a patio in the backyard and it needed shade. I dealt with SunSetter's sales person and it was easy peasy. I've had the awning since March and I certainly appreciate it. I love that it's retractable at a push of a button. Every time we push the button and we go in the backyard, it brings the exact kind of joy that the commercials convey. We sit out there with a cocktail or coffee and have our barbecue in the shade.

I had a terrible experience with SunSetter. I hope it doesn't happen to somebody else. We were buying an awning for my parents who are in their 80s. They live about two hours from me, and they love the outdoors. They have a very hot patio. So, we wanted to get them some cover. I saw SunSetter on Home Depot, and saw some great reviews on it. It was powered, which is wonderful, and what they needed. So, I went in with it with my siblings, four of us pitched in, and we bought it for our parents. Home Depot said that it would be delivered within a four-day window. So, the fifth day worked out perfectly for us because we were gonna go up there and install it for them. My brother, my sister and I were to meet up there on that fifth day. We made the trip up, stayed overnight, and it was not delivered.

We had an awning in Minnesota and we enjoyed it so much that we decided to put one on our second property. We bought our second awning this summer and we really enjoyed the gentleman and his son who installed it. They did a great job and made everything look beautiful. They were very careful in their work and made sure that the awning was gonna last us a long time. It's electric and has a remote.

There was a SunSetter here when we moved in that was old and decrepit. So, I did a bunch of reading and SunSetter seemed to be the choice for a new one. So, I had it replaced. I got a 20-foot x 13-foot extended, with an electric remote, and a wind sensor on it. Its performance is awesome. I like it. The sun is in my back deck a lot. So, we have it out quite a bit when the sun's out and I sit under it for shade.

SunSetter was good. They were fast and efficient. They installed the awning very nicely. I have the remote control to make it go in and out. If it's windy, I could pull it in to make it flush. I have the backup arm thing to manually put it out as well. It was a good experience.

SunSetter's reps were very knowledgeable. Communication was okay. It took eight weeks from the time we ordered the awning to the time we got it. Other than that, it was a good purchase experience. The awnings are the wind sensor ones and are striped which were gray, black, and white. We got three awnings and two of them went in well. One of them sticks a bit now, but it's not a big deal. When you put it all the way in, there's a little bit of a hitch, but it's still moving. It's a worthwhile investment.

The awning is really good, and it's exactly what I was hoping for. It's been great.

It's striped, and beige-ish in colors. It has a remote, which makes it nice. We paid extra for certain things, like a shade that is across the whole awning. That is on the south side. We had to order an additional shade material that we could put on east or west to keep the sun from coming in. We decided to keep it up on the west side where we get the afternoon sun instead of switching it back and forth because that will be a bit of trouble. We don't usually sit out there during the daytime when the sun comes in from the east. I tell people it's expensive when I say how good it is.

If it's windy, from previous experience when we had a camper, we know we have to pull the awning in, so we've been on the light side and doing it where they would take more than what we're giving it.

My father had a Sunsetter awning installed years ago and I enjoyed that it held up very well. I didn't want to get a permit and build a full-scale patio, so I decided to go with the awning. It was delivered and everything was in good shape. It's a very high-quality product and relatively easy to install. I did everything myself. It's easily adjustable for the amount that it leans down. They supplied the Allen wrench and I was able to make the adjustments very easily. I like the automatic retractor when it gets windy. It comes in very handy.

We hardly used it this year because initially, they sent an 18 ft. awning and they only had 3 brackets for it. They said they wanted more support for it but said it was fine and we could use it. But they were going to come back while we waited over two weeks. And they didn't come back, so we called. Then they came back and put in a total of six brackets on it. They adjusted it and did everything for us. I asked how the drop-down shade that's in there can be worked and they said we didn't have a drop-down shade. But I told them that we ordered one. We then called the owner who pulled up the invoice and confirmed that we did order it. So that had to be ordered and they had to come back again.

The SunSetter salesman was good and pretty honest. Then, when they came out and installed my order, they did a great job. They did what they said they were going to do and they strengthened up the overhang where they were going to hang it. They beefed it up so it's ready if some winds came along. I got the motorized awning that's wind resistant and it would retract if the wind came. It has the 10-year warranty and it was the better one. I'm a Costco person, so I went through Costco when I ordered it. It's expensive but my overall experience was good.

Everything works the way it's supposed to with my SunSetter awning. It keeps the sun off my head and it does exactly what it's advertised to do. I went with a SunSetter awning because of their reputation over the years and when their rep came out, the presentation was fine. I'd already done my research and reached out to them, so I knew what to expect when they got here. I already knew the whole portfolio, the specs, and everything that I was looking for. The only reason I had the person come out is because I needed to know the difference height-wise between a roof mount and an under awning thing mount. Since my son's 6'4, wound up doing a roof mount, so he wouldn't bang his head anywhere.

I got quotes from three different companies, and Gibson was selling the Sunsetter awning. That awning would work best for our porch 'cause we needed two, one next to each other. I got a motorized awning with the sunblock at the outside edge, and I got it with the lights also. The rolls are completely metal-covered and the awning goes out 13 feet. The only problem we've had is they had to come back and reattach it to the roof.

I like the look of the product, and that is what I was looking for. We installed it ourselves. I have very able sons and son-in-laws who have built a house. However, we had to bounce around and find possibilities online, and we called them and got somebody who handled all kinds of products and didn't try to sell anything to us. We went knowing what we wanted, so we hunted around until we found somebody we could get the awning from and ended up ordering it directly online, but we had no help in finding vendors in the area. We were led to believe one vendor of another product could help us because we weren't sure how to install it until we picked up more information. That was quite a drive away from where we were even though we're next to a big metropolitan area. That part was frustrating.

The only thing I found weird was the guy who sold it to me is the same guy who installed it, and the install was charged separately. I paid almost $800 for an install to this salesman who sold me the actual SunSetter. It was a lot considering I spent almost 5,000 on the awning. He and his son came. I guess this SunSetter is a privately-owned one. They are a franchise and he does the installs and the sales for SunSetter. But the awning works great. It's exactly what I wanted. It does what I expect it to do. I wanted something that could retract and I could see the stars when I'm in my hot tub, and cover me when it's raining and I wanna be in my hot tub. I got what I paid for.

That was decades ago and when the gentleman came back, it was obvious that he was ready to retire. His estimate was a large amount. I went online and decided to check what were my other options. I came up with SunSetter, and the gentleman who came, a young man, was very professional, gave me a quote, and took measurements. We talked about colors, and he was part of the installation team as well.

SunSetter had really good customer service. They came to our house, and they seemed really knowledgeable and friendly. They were easy to work with and their price was comparable to the other companies. The awning was a striped, beige fabric, retractable, fairly large in size, and has a remote that comes with it. We've used it a handful of times for one summer and it was good. The look and quality of the awning seems really, really nice. I would recommend SunSetter based on their customer service, availability, the speed of installation, and the price.

I got somebody to make me another one, and we decided to quit it and start with something new. The guy that sold the Sunsetter awning to us also does the installation separately and everything was fine. He was honest. However, the awning cost over $6,000, which was way more than I anticipated, but I hadn't bought one before.

The installation team was good too. I've had the motorized awning for about 4 months and it works as well as I hoped.

So, we investigated getting an awning. I know that SunSetter has the various products available, so we got a hold of them. We enjoyed the salesman that came over and made a presentation before we bought one. Two guys came to install. They pulled up and contacted us. We showed them the deck and where we wanted it to go, and they went to work. It was that simple. When they were done, they handed me the remote and they showed me how to use it. Then they demonstrated opening and closing it. We also wanted to get that additional 5 foot curtain that hangs down. So, that was attached. They demonstrated how that works with the hand crank. Things went well. We're quite pleased with the awning.

We were using umbrellas on our deck, and now that we're older, it's not as easy to get them up and down, so we decided to go with a motorized awning. SunSetter Awnings is local and we saw an advertisement for them, so we thought we'd check them out. Their office people, the salespeople, and the installers were all really good. We had hail damage to our roof and they had to come out, remove the awning and put it back on. They worked right along with us to coincide it with the roofing company.

We spend so much more time outside on the deck because of our awning. Working with the salesman, who comes to you to explain everything, to the professional instillation, there is no reason to wait to order your awning. Instillation took maybe 2 hrs! They picked up, showed me everything I needed to know and they were gone. Wonderful experience. Should have done this SOONER!

Last Spring, we had a Sunsetter awning installed on one of our porches that gets quite a bit of sun throughout the day. It has changed how we spend our summer evenings. We have a small screened-in gazebo that is about 20 steps from the porch that we used to use quite often, but since we have gotten the awning, we seldom make the trip because the porch is so comfortable. We have only had it for a year, so I can't speak for its durability, but I will say that it looks great on our house. I know that the Sunsetter company gets little credit for this, but the local company that sold and installed it was fantastic. No upselling, on time, efficient, polite, and they left the porch cleaner than when they arrived. We are very pleased with our purchase.

I really like my awning! It is very well constructed, stronger than I thought it would be, and works flawlessly! Just watching it extend and retract is impressive every time you see it. I also love the wind sensor that safely retracts the awning when a storm creeps up. The patio lights are great and the remote function is very good. I really have no complaints and think I may put another unit over my garage in spring.

I love the Sunsetter product; however the company selling and installing the product is very poor in the customer service department. The awning was initially installed too low and when properly installed holes in my siding were visible. Repeated requests to fix were ignored. I had to wait over 3 months for my referral check. I was told repeatedly the check was in the mail, which it was not. Only when my daughter threatened to come to their office and pick it up did they finally put it in the mail. I would not recommend this company.

I purchased an Oasis Freestanding Awning in May 2025 delivered on 6/11/2025. At that time the installers set it up very quickly with no direction really as how to open and close the awing.. I later that day called the installer and he helped me over the phone as to how to open and close the unit. The awing is almost impossible for me to close easily. I made several calls to the office and spoke to Jamie (414 810 8833). I was then sent in the mail some type of u-joint that I had no idea what it was for. Again call Jamie... She had the installer come again on Sept 9 to look at the awning... I was then told by the installer that I should attach a drill to the handle that you crank the unit closed with.. Maybe that would help me.. The installer told me someone from SunSetter would be calling me.... I FINALLY JUST GAVE UP!!!!

We had a new deck, but we didn’t take into account how warm it was going to be, so we had to either do something or make it into a three-season room. And we decided that getting an awning was the best option for us at this point.
