Would love it if it had more features and add-ons, almost as much suction as my Kirby had when it was new and less than half the weight. I don't think it'll last as long but neither do newer kirbys. The convenience of smaller, lighter and cheaper vacuum has paid off the replacement already. I think the next step is keeping in getting smaller and lighter, thinking a small Dyson.

The Shark cordless is very light and has good power. It picks up a lot of things. The downside is the battery does not last very long, and it quits without warning. A second battery and power pack can be purchased, however, they cost us how about the same as the cost of the original vacuum.

We love our bagless Shark vacuum! We have 50/50 carpet to hardwood floors and use this for both. It doesn't just blow the dirt/dog fur around on the wood floors. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a vacuum. We've had it 5 years and zero complaints.

Apart from these vacuums I have 2 Dysons, but keep going back to the Shark. It is a real 'workhorse' with a large enough barrel that I am not forever emptying it. I am not afraid of what I vacuum up, as I know how reliable it is. No matter how dirty the carpets, the power brushes bring them up like new. It has enough attachments to do the job, without worrying about lots of fiddly bits to keep track of. It has a long cord that winds cleverly close to the side. Best of all, the company is brilliant to deal with. The vacuum arrived within days of ordering it, any inquiries have been handled promptly and efficiently. If I bought another vacuum, I would choose the Shark upright again, although I doubt this will ever wear out. It's here for the long haul.

The best part about our Shark vacuum is the fierce suctioning power, followed by the ease of emptying the dirt cup. However, cleaning the brushes in the beater bar is extremely tedious and must be done every single time the vacuum is used. The design is not optimal for easy removal & cleaning of this portion, and the bristles are so stiff, that it takes great effort & strain to remove string & hair that wraps around the bar & bristles. Hoping this flaw will be addressed in a future model, which would make the Shark vacuums nearly perfect.

The Vac works well on rugs. Need to use attachments for floors. Vacuum is too heavy and can tip easily. Cleaning is easy and detaching canister works great as well. As for wire management I give it an F. Cleaning path is narrow but the suction is very good. Overall I give this vac a 4 out of 5.

Overall I would give the Shark Vacuum we have a C... it wasn't my first choice. My husband was set on getting this model. I would have preferred to try the Dyson. It is a good vacuum and picks up well. But again I don't like the accessories and that fact that you have no length on the hose.

I love my cordless Shark. I don't have carpet but I have a very large house with a dog that sheds white hair. I use it daily and it does the whole house on one charge (over 3300sq. ft.) It is very lightweight and unlike Dyson you don't have to hold the on button continuously. I bought it from Bed Bath and Beyond about 6 months ago.

I always had a Hoover upright bagged vac and was not overly satisfied with the performance, but also felt I never paid the big bucks for other brand vacs costing hundreds more. I kept hearing about how great Shark vacs are for picking up dirt and pet hair. I got a Shark and was so surprised at how much dirt it sucked up. In fact, I liked my Shark so much I ordered a second one with the pet hair removal brush and I would never go back to any other brand. This vac has amazing suction, ease of movement, picks up pet hair and empties the canister with just 2 clicks. My carpets look great and actually feel softer and higher pile after vacuuming. Never thought I would like a vac without a bag but this is so easy to empty. I can't find a thing negative to say about Shark vacs.

I really like the Shark Rotator Professional Lift-Away Vacuum because it is very lightweight compared to the old, heavy vacuums that I have had. This Shark is great to use on floors, rugs and to use cat hairs. Plus I can lift off parts of the machine to vacuum curtains, sofas and hard to reach places. The filter included is easy to empty and reuse. I am happy I changed to the Shark brand.

Shark Apex - seems like it should be a very good vacuum, except, after the second use, less than thirty days, this brand new vacuum no longer was operating properly. The front lights stayed on flash and although the indicator light was green, the rollers would not rotate and had zero suction. Called Shark and they are sending a new motor. Although, on back order for seven days. They asked me to only pay shipping cost, to which I declined. Therefore, they are shipping a new motor at zero cost. On a side note, the customer service rep is no vacuum technician. You explain your problem and they read online the potential problem and make a judgement call. There is no true troubleshooting - no more than what you can read online yourself. And, that my friends is my two cents.

I'm really happy with my Shark vacuum because I have sciatica and I'm in so much pain sometimes that I couldn't lift my other bulky vacuum to take up and down the stairs. Shark has great suction and is very lightweight! I really didn't want to spend money on a new vacuum since I had one but taking it upstairs was so painful for me I knew I had to do something. The attachments are awesome because I can vacuum my draperies without much strain (I would recommend that Shark add a lower suction for curtains bc they will pull from the rod so you need both hands for sure)!
The hardwood floor attachment is great and the pet hair attachment is very heavy but does an excellent job on my furniture. I purchased mine right before they came out with the cordless model which was a bummer but overall I'm very happy with my choice! I loaned it to my daughter who had just purchased a home and she loved how it cleaned up the dust which eliminated the need for a Shop-Vac! You clean the filters once a month to keep good suction and clean any attachments that may get dusty and you are good to go! It also comes with the wall attachments. I would definitely recommend it!

This vacuum is lightweight, easy to maintain, has great suction, and never lets me down. My husband, being a brute, broke a piece once. The company replaced the entire section at no cost. The filter is easy to clean, just take it out, shake the excess dust out, wash it, dry it, and no lasting smell from dog hair. It is great with pet hair. I use the hose to pick up pet hair on wooden floors. If anything too big gets sucked in, it is easy to take apart close to the section where the -usually a sock under the bed-lodged. I love the light that helps me see in dark corners. I've never had to replace a bulb.

We have 2 Shetland Sheep dogs that shed horribly. The Shark Lift-Away Deluxe does a great job. The design is good, however, I don’t care for the cord being located on the bottom of the vacuum because it seems to get stuck under the vacuum a lot. As for the attachments, it’s pretty bulky trying to use the attachments because you connect them to the handle that pulls out as the wand. But it works great for cleaning my carpets and hardwood floors so it does its job better than I expected.

We received the Shark vacuum as an unexpected gift - I WAS a die-hard Dyson fan. I was absolutely shocked at how much more the Shark cleaned my carpet than the Dyson. The tools are also better and make it easier to clean my stairs which I hate to do. The Dyson is significantly more expensive and seemed slow down in quality with age. Our Dyson was 1 year old when we received the Shark, we have had the Shark for 1 year and it operates as well as day one. The only thing I don't like is it tips over easily if I am using the attachments. Highly recommend the Shark.

Handy as both an upright and a hand held, the Shark XL Capacity is both powerful and versatile. We have a workhouse Sanitaire upright which does a good job but the Shark blows it away for carpet vacuuming. I'm not usually a fan of bagless but the Shark's canister is easy to empty and re-attach, which makes vacuuming a big house easier as I can empty the canister as it gets full and then continue vacuuming in under a minute. The upright head swivels easily, making corners and getting under low things easy. Fairly standard attachments, plus a special one for upholstery. Overall, a great multi-purpose vacuum.

I just purchased the Shark Navigator DLX Lift Away Vacuum. So far, it’s great! The suction is crazy (it feels “self-propelled”), the cord, at 35 ft, is longer than any of the others I researched. I can actually see how much pet hair, etc. it is pulling out of my carpet when I empty the canister, but also, my carpet looks amazing! Well built, great suction, clever design. Suction can be adjusted, for instance, you might want light suction on a throw rug. The dust cup is very roomy, easy to use and the plastic seems much stronger than on my previous vacuums. It picked up loads of dust and fur left behind by former vacuum. It is also easy to get under furniture that other vacuums can’t get under. Each time I've upgrade my Shark I've given the old one to relatives or friends. The older ones are still working excellently and have no negative issues. All feedback to me is positive. Everyone is waiting for me to upgrade my Shark again. I've give Shark as gifts as well. For me it is my only brand. I paid thousands of dollars to all other vacuum brands. My wife and I purchased a Shark Navigator vacuum after hearing good things about them. We were skeptical because we have had many different brand vacuums but none have seemed to last. As vacuums are expensive, I wanted to make a good choice that would both hold up to the mess three small kids make, and last longer than a couple years. The Navigator works great, and after two years has proven to be worth every penny. My only complaint would be the suction strength. I have noticed that some areas require going over a couple times to thoroughly get the mess cleaned up. Overall I would recommend this vacuum to anyone who cannot afford Dyson.

Bought this vacuum 3 years ago for 400 bucks at Best Buy. Has 5 year warranty. I called customer service (not in country, of course SHARK outsources, perfect for not getting issues resolved and not accepting responsibility for a cheaply made product) and was told I had a warranty but it was still going to cost 90 bucks to fix, not including shipping costs.
I explained in detail what had happened, due to the language barrier it wasn't clear to the representative what had happened. I made it clear that it was a mechanical issue, that was obviously not caused from misuse or lack of maintenance. After speaking to him for about 10 mins or so, I gave up and hung up. This was the first really expensive vacuum Ive purchased, and the last and definitely the last SHARK product I will buy. Terrible company that doesnt back up their products, even with the warranty.

I bought this product because friends and family recommended the Shark brand and I am utterly disgusted at the lack of customer service and the lack of their desire to "make it right". I have used this vacuum since December 2018, and I have been extremely happy with the results but while I was cleaning, there was debris that I knew the vacuum couldn't handle, so I rested the vacuum against the wall to pick up the debris, and within the 10 seconds it took to move the debris, the vacuum cleaner rolled down and fell and the mechanisms that connect and hold together the "dirt compartment" completely shattered. I even tried to superglue it.
I called customer service in hopes of simply buying new pieces but was told, No, that what happened isn't a manufacturers error but a user error, and the agent even proceeded to tell me that the owner's manual suggests and tells you not to leave it standing and that the product not standing on its own and that is intentional and is not to be thought of as a defective feature, which to me, a $189.53 vacuum cleaner should 100% be able to stand on its own and if it doesn't it is to be considered defective.
This product do NOT stand up on its own at all, it slides and falls because it doesn't have a proper base- it does come with a wall mount for storage, but that is not helpful when I am actively cleaning and need to move something out of the way, I truly would like a Shark CEO to tell me how it is reasonable or logical to have to do such an action of walking all the way to my back den to hang up my vacuum cleaner for approximately 10 seconds while I move debris? That's not justifiably logical or reasonable, especially for the price of $189.53, which is the exact amount I paid.
The solution I was offered was a DISCOUNTED PRICE of $127! $127 to buy a completely new product when I don't need one? I just wanted the pieces that broke. I even pleaded with and suggested simply sending Shark their defective product back and paying shipping both ways to receive a new one (since the agent refused my first suggestion of simply ordering the needed pieces) and was told "No. No that's not how our warranty works." That's what kept getting repeated. "That's not how our warranty works".
I pleaded for over 15 minutes offering and suggesting more options and even asked to speak to someone higher and he ultimately refused and said "I already talked to Dave/David and this is what he allowed me to offer you because it isn't a manufacturers error." This is disgusting behavior to refuse to work with YOUR PAYING CUSTOMER.
I am so disappointed in Shark's decision to treat me and this terribly inconvenient accident so poorly and to offer me one solution or no solution. How is that acceptable or ethical to treat customers in such ways, especially since I was the one who was coming up with offers and solutions, not even the agent that was hired to help.

What can I say? After owning three Dysons that eventually lost their suction, I purchased a Shark Apex for my birthday last year (2019) and I love it...except for the length of the hose. How can such a great vacuum have such a short and annoying hose? The frustration I feel every time I use the hand-held part of the vacuum kills my overall love for the vacuum, itself. The hose is too short and if you pull it the vacuum will always fall over on its side. It makes me want to chuck the vacuum out a closed window. It never fails. The vacuum has to be right up next to whatever you are cleaning with the hand-held part of the vacuum to keep it from tipping over. HOW ** STUPID.
Like most things, everything invented by humans sucks. There's always at least one flaw, if not a few. This vacuum is no exception. Get it together, Shark. I would not recommend this vacuum because of this issue. Fix it and I would recommend this vacuum to the world. Don't fix it and all the good qualities of your vacuum die with the first crash of a tipped machine. What a shame.

I purchased a Shark Rotator NV680 series swivel vacuum. It came with a 7 year warranty. Within a couple months it had a lot of air leakage from the hose nozzle part. I've inquired about replacement & was told it was a normal wear and tear item and not covered under warranty. This part cost $80 plus tax & shipping & handling to replace. I think is very unfair. There's no way this could be normal wear and tear. I use the vacuum two or three times a week. I take very good care of the vacuum. I clean it. Maintenance it after each use. There's no reason for a vacuum of this cost to only work properly for a couple of months and then start seperating & leaking air which affects the suction strenghth. I cannot believe that I would have to replace this out of my own pocket within a couple months after buying it.
I've read through the warranty and it does not say anywhere that this part is normal wear and tear. A filter is a normal wear and tear item. Not the hose & nozzle. 1 of the main parts of the vacuum. I'm very dissatisfied with shark customer service and with their agreement/warranty. And the quality of this vacuum. That's false pretense & misleading. These shark vacuums range from $200 plus and don't last more than a couple months & aren't under warrenty. I'm very unsatisfied with the outcome of my vacuum. This is the 4th shark vacuum I've owned over the years & don't think I'll purchase another.

Waste of money especially if you have dogs. I wished I had never purchased this vacuum because the hair gets balled up on the roller and if you have a dog like a German Shepherd it's not going to work. I wished I had stuck with a canister vacuum because this is a waste of money for a widow woman living on Social Security. It also moves forward very well but it's hard to move backwards because it wants to continue moving forward so when you pull it backwards they had lifts up off the floor. This is a waste of money.

I was so excited when I received my vacuum cleaner. I ordered it from QVC. I put it together without issues. It does clean my door carpets which are made of stiff yarn. It is power propelled! It will pull you with it when you are vacuuming. You have to pull back hard with every stroke and it wears a person out. Ok, so it helps me exercise! Then I try to use the extension to clean my walls, etc. Nope. Can’t do it. The hose to the the extension is short and stiff. There is no way I can use it to clean anything on walls, fan blades, windows. When you use the extension wand you do have to carry the lift away part (motor with dust cup) or else it will fall over. If the hose was longer, and more playable it would help.
They also need to figure out a way to balance the lift away so it stays upright when being used to clean with the extension wand. I have to use both hands to try to reach what I can and it angers me every single time when I reach and the lift away falls over. Why would a vacuum be made with a hard short hose? The vacuum also disappoints on edge cleaning. It doesn’t pick up everything against a wall either front or side. I expected so much from this vacuum. If the nozzle hadn’t broken on my previous vacuum I would be using it now. It didn’t disappoint me.

Finally called customer service. 5 year warranty. Answered promptly. Professional and friendly. Sending a new base in 3 to 4 days. No need to send original back and no charge!
RECEIVED MY NEW not refurbished base the very next morning!!! Still with warranty as original carried!! Wonderful! Satisfied more than with just about any company ever. The cord issues and not self standing when attachments are connected is a complaint kind of too either lazy if inconvenienced by disassembling or using mount to place when not in use. So called customer service who promised to send a new part by Tuesday - arrived on Saturday and it was a new filter! Unsurprisingly it didn't work. I owned a Dyson Pet Vacuum for 14 years until it finally stopped performing. I decided to give the Shark vacuum a try because of its lower price from a Dyson. As the old saying goes, "You get what you paid for!" That is so true!! There are more negatives I have on rating this vacuum cleaner than positives. Here are my pros vs. cons list:
1. Lightweight
2. Canister Capacity
Cons1. The power cord is very short. I have a 1,100 square foot condo and I have to keep unplugging the vacuum cleaner into another outlet just to get the job done. The Dyson provides a much lengthier cord.
2. The power cord runs from the lower portion of the motor base causing you to run over the cord every time you pull back on the vacuum cleaner.
3. The upright does not stand in its upright position in a sturdy manner. VERY tipsy!! Falls over every time you use the detachment tool.
4. Speaking of tools, there is NO brush attachment like the Dyson provides.
5. The tool caddie falls off constantly. VERY ANNOYING!
6. The brush head is smaller compared to the Dyson, therefore it takes you longer to vacuum the house.
7. OVERALL...POORLY DESIGNED!

I called in several days ago because my RV85 would not hook up to the app (the only way you can schedule cleanings). I was told after multiple attempts that it would need to be researched. Waited three days for my call back but was not near my robot.
When I called back the gentleman named "Juan" made my husband and I complete at least 10 attempts (definitely more) to hook up the robot to the app. It NEVER worked. Different phones different ways. That would have been fine had he not been so condescending. Then when I asked to speak with a supervisor LIED and said there wasn't one. Call back and get a supervisor. No apology. Make no mistake, the Shark Vacuum does deep clean your carpet. The issue is that at the same time it breaks the fibers of your carpet. For years we would see the canister full of sand but then realized our carpet fibers (thousands to be exact) were also in the canister. Our carpet was once plush but now there are little fibers left for any type of plushness. So powerful can also be very destructive. Most people probably don't even realize this. They see the canister full of dirt never realizing this is mostly carpet fibers. Terrible! I am surprised more people have not caught on to the destruction of their carpets due to the Shark Vacuum. Hopefully Shark will also catch on and design a vacuum that is not destructive. They should also be responsible for any damage done to one's carpet due to their product.

It was a great machine until it wasn’t! I purchased the machine in the fall of 2017, worked great for about a year, and then it had a problem with the CLEAN cycle. I called CS and was walked through the steps 2 times, until I finally got a rep that replaced my main unit only at n/c. Fast forward 1 year...same issue. Called CS again, and walked through steps with them...no luck. I was then told they could replace the unit at a reduced rate, every now and then one slips through the inspection process.
I told them I needed to speak with a Mgr, and they told me I would receive a call back within 4 hours. No call came. I called again yesterday AM. Was told there was a note in the file that they called back, and there was no VM to leave a message. That was an outright lie. Called again yesterday evening, and was told again that I would receive a call back. To date no call. Terrible company with planned obsolescence to make you purchase another product. Quality assurance is not their strong suit.

That one was a junk model so I got another from Sam's Club where the brush roll stopped within 3 months. They exchanged it for NV642. The Nv642 had a hose crack in the bottom within 6 months. Every time I called about the "5 year" warranty they wanted $80 for a new head and lowered the price to 40 after "talking to their manager". These vacuums are made to break. Do not buy them!

This vacuum is a piece of crap other than it does vacuum decently. The model is top heavy and will fall over on you or into a wall damaging furniture and drywall (and even you) along the way. The cord is not as long as the Shark Rocket cord was either. Where the vacuum hose meets the base creates a bulky right side that will not allow you to go under cabinets or get close to things when you are on that side of the vacuum. The dust container has stupid plastic pieces in it that prevent the dust and dirt from all coming out because it gets caught up on these pieces of plastic and then you have to use your hands/fingers to dislodge it. PAIN IN THE **!! The cord is attached at the bottom too which makes you constantly step on it and trip on it. HORRIBLE DESIGN and ENGINEERING on this model. I HATE IT!!!

I have personally bought 2 Shark vacuums in the last 6 years. The first, a Rocket was an exceptional vacuum as far as suction goes. Its problem was with the actual plastic parts that are essential breaking. Last year age and a broken plastic piece that was just not important enough to replace mainly because of age and cost of the part I tossed it and got this ION Duo Multiplex Cordless and I am happy to say that for the actual suction - again - Shark hits it perfectly. As for the wheels - both have fallen off, rendering this Shark now useless as well. I forgot to mention that the first one had a 5 year full warranty *(which Shark has discontinued) and I actually got a new one every year I owned it except for the last 2 and it was done after that. This one - same thing.
Even though Shark's suction is as good as the best competitor, the machines are junky and do not hold up and I am finished spending hundreds of dollars on these piece of crapola vacuums that only LAST 1 YEAR UNDER NORMAL USAGE. Unacceptable and it should stop but they have somehow stymied all of us into thinking they are great pieces of equipment and they just aren't. Two of these proves it. Read and make your decision but I would look at a Miele or a Rainbow. Spending several hundred one time for something that lasts even 10 years is better than $250-$399 every year....agree?
