I bought this new vacuum about a year ago and thought I really liked it. Eventually hair got tangled in the wheels on the bottom and on the roller bar. There are 10 screws that need to be removed in order to clean the roller bar. Maybe that wouldn't be so bad but some of them are very deep and are not Philips like the instructions say. They are 6-sided star screws. The amount of time it takes to clean the roller bar is ridiculous. I would not recommend this vacuum.

I purchased Shark Vacuum Navigator Lift Away Professional August 31, 2016. On August 21, 2017 dust cup cracked. Plastic broke off that latch to hold in place attaches to. Had to replace. Only paid shipping. May 29, 2018 plug broke. Had to replace. July 24, 2018 plastic release on handle for attachments broke. I had to replace. Also again dust cup same thing happened; piece broke off and cracked. Had to replace also. I find this vacuum is made with cheap plastic parts and breaks easily. I'm very dissatisfied with vacuum.

I purchased a Shark handheld vacuum cleaner a little over a year ago. Several weeks ago it started losing its suction power. As of this week, it stays on for a second or two and shuts off. I have contacted Shark customer service about this issue several times. Their recommendation is to purchase a new battery for $40, which I feel is ridiculous given that a new one cost $60. The representatives that I have talked to have been unhelpful and the last one was downright condescending and rude.

The two year warranty is over on my vacuum and I called to get a part for my vacuum expecting to pay for it. They only charged me shipping which was only $7. Here I knew my warranty was up and I need a part and was expecting it to be more and they only charged $7 as a courtesy. They had awesome customer service.

Bought my Shark NV681 from Kohl's online in December 2016. Purchased based on reviews in CR and it really was - and still is - a pet hair eradicating machine... but I know I'm on borrowed time. First thing that breaks two weeks into use; part of the plastic on the dust bin cracks off simply bumping against a piece of furniture. This thing is built to "lift away" to be shoved under beds etc. - shouldn't it be a bit tougher? Being as I have two dogs and three cats, I clean the roller, dust bin and filters monthly; coil the cord etc. - I need vac power daily so I take care of my "tools".

Imagine my surprise a few months down the road when my Shark gets caught on a rug, sucks it up tearing out a chunk of fiber. Flip it over and discover that one of the tiny front wheels has broken and the rough edge snagged the rug leading to the fibers winding around the brush roller. Guess what - no replacement for that tiny wheel - lucked out with a trip to a hobby store - a black craft bead was just the right size.

Today while cleaning I hear click/grind noise and surprise - my vacuum which was in an upright position falls forward. No matter what I do the only way I can keep it standing is to lean it forward against a wall. Turn it over and find that the plastic housing of the vac head has cracked at the rear screw points and there's a tear in the hose leading from the vac head up to the dust bin. Mine has a 7 year warranty so I first check the CA site to get a feel for what I may be facing from Customer No Service. I bite the bullet and call for warranty service expecting the worse.

Oddly enough the customer service rep advised me that as a, "one time courtesy" they would send me a replacement vac head gratis but I'd have to pay for shipping ($16). Found it doubly interesting that the rep mentioned that the replacement part will fix the standing problem and the torn hose... except I never mentioned the hose! Bet they're getting a number of similar complaints. Here's another tip - before the customer service rep came on the line I was asked if I'd participate in a short survey at the end of my call. I said "Yes" - wonder if the rep knows when a customer agrees to the survey and bases his/her service on that fact? Will update my review when I receive the "replacement" part.

I purchased a Shark a little over a year ago. A little over a week ago I noticed that the vacuum was no longer picking things up. I started checking everything to find what might be the problem and found that the flexible hose inside the part that runs over the floor had split. A hose inside the vacuum should not be splitting under regular use. Anyway, I call the company about this and they tell me that replacing the hose is not possible but that they will sell me the whole floor piece for $95 plus shipping. This is utterly ridiculous, that hose should NOT be splitting. DO NOT purchase this model and buyer beware if anything goes wrong.

All was well until the purchase information arrived by email, it wasn't at all what I asked for. It was an accessory bag! I called at the next opportunity to cancel the order but was advised that the order had been picked and was on its way, that I should call back when the item arrived. I did that. Shark refunded the accessory price but refused to refund the shipping cost. I am not a happy customer.

I bought the Shark Rocket last April from the Shark website, in March I could smell burning then smoke. Called Shark. They sent a new motor which looked reconditioned. (Scratches, dents, etc.) The other day the second one from just a few months ago buggered. The motor was going fast then slow and I could smell burning. I took the filter off to look, turned it on and actual flames burst out. I completely ** myself. So I'm getting another new one tomorrow and when I asked if it was reconditioned like the other she was shocked and said they do not give reconditioned hoovers. They're new and when I got the one in March I should have called right away but I didn't know. I don't understand why this has happened twice in a year when they are confident enough to give a 5 year warranty. Please note by motor I mean the actual main unit. They don't replace it all unless they need to.

I purchased a Shark duo clean cordless vacuum costing £350. It couldn’t cope with a long pile carpet and stopped working every few inches. The vacuum through the brush bar was blocked but it wasn’t, it just wasn’t big enough to cope with the long pile. To cut a very long story short, even though they say they will refund your money if it does not give satisfaction, they are extremely reluctant. You phone up and after waiting to speak to someone for ages you get cut off. When I did get through, as soon as I said I had a product which as not suitable I got cut off at that point several times. Eventually when they speak to you they try every ridiculous excuse to not give you a refund and when that fails they try to get you to buy a different product instead.

To return something they have to email you a label and you then take the parcel to a DPD office and when they get it back it takes 10-14 days to refund your money. I needed a label posting out as my printer has broken. It is now 6 days later and no label. I phoned and they said they will post it again but it takes 3-5 days for it to get to you and with no post on Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday it is going to be another 6 days before it arrives. With the up to 14 days they can take to refund this could be 4 weeks to get my money back.

In comparison I ordered a G-Tech Air Ram K9 and Multi K9 at the same price, the following day after Shark said they would post out the returns label. Sadly this had the same problem as the Shark, but when I phoned them they were very apologetic and helpful. They arranged the courier (same one Shark use) to collect it from my house the next day (it was not costing me anything). They said that once it is scanned by the courier they will authorize my refund which will take 3-4 days (big difference from Shark).

The courier didn’t collect it and when I phoned it seems the return had failed after the lady had exited her screen and she hadn’t noticed. They were very sorry and immediately rearranged it for the day after and because of the inconvenience the (very pleasant lady) authorised the refund of my money immediately, even though it hadn’t been collected yet. It took 3 days following delivery of the G - Tech to get a refund. If they can do it why can’t Shark?

After my label didn’t come I phoned Shark and tried to get them to send the next one out using Special Delivery (next day delivery) from Post Office but they wouldn’t. They were unpleasant, bordering on just plain rude. Initially refused to allow me to speak to a supervisor. Eventually I did but he was just as bad as the customer service person. I asked to speak to someone with more authority but was told there is nobody on those premises. The only way to do it is to get them to email a manager, and in his words “if they decide they want to call you back, it will be about 3 -5days”. I asked for a direct phone number and he said “I don’t have that information”. Obviously either he was refusing to give it to me or they are not allowed to. He was quite arrogant in his manner. All in all dealing with Shark customer services is unpleasant and stressful.

There vacuum itself has good and bad points. I only tried it for about ten mins on normal power and the battery that should last 22 mins ran out. I bought the one with two batteries fortunately. The dirt collection bin is ridiculously small. I could cope with it if everything else was brilliant but there is a maximum fill line and above that there is no side on the container seperating it from the cyclone thing and the hairs etc go over the top and wrap around it. When you empty it you have to get your fingers in to get anything that went over the top and when you tilt it from the upright e.g. to go under the sofa or to use as handheld the dirt can go over the top as well. Also there is a filter at the front near the top and it isn’t like other machines, it is simply a piece of cream colour sponge which after only ten mins of use was filthy, full of loose dust and hairs which fell out when you took the front off to check it.

It pulls itself forward so you don’t have to push which could be good but it’s impossible to clean small or lightweight rugs as it screws them up in the roller. It is very light and easy to maneuver. Its flexi handle is excellent for going under the sofa without bending down to the floor. It has 3 ways to charge and you don’t need to fix it to a wall. In summary, it wouldn’t matter if it was the best machine in the world. I’m still not sure I would buy it because of the bad customer service. I can’t add receipt as all I have is the delivery note. I tried to take photos which seem good but not looking at them on this page. Hopefully you can get the full picture on your screen.

I purchased the Shark Rocket # HV302 26 at a retail store on 1/3/2015 and have loved it from day one. However recently I noticed it was not picking up as well as before. Upon examination of the powerhead I found that it had a large crack in the short hose that directs the section from the powerhead to the pipe up to the motor. So now no suction was reaching the floor. I tried to take it apart and could not get the hose out. I then went online to Shark and found no help. So I googled Shark Rockets Complaints and found a number of sites, including one where there were many people with the same complaint. Many of them had the same results that I did when I called. The powerhead is not included in the 5 year warranty, it is a normal wear & tear item??? But they would sell me a replacement for 90.00+ dollars.

I said, "Ridiculous, the whole package only cost $162.73 including sales tax." So he says, "Let me see what I can do," short pause then he offers me, like many other reviews, a 50% discount or $45.00+ and shipping, about $19.00. I told him I would have to think about it because I think it is worthless warranty. He said he was sorry but that all he could do. I said, "I understand, you have to stay with your script of answers." I then told him to hang up so I could say more in the allowed review of my call experience. And surprise surprise I got disconnected like many others. Bottom line, like many other things today, when they work they are great... But when they don't, time to buy a new one. But being handy, I think I can make a patch and keep it going. Wish me luck.

Now this means it is not cleaning my carpet. Well I thought no biggie. I will call Shark. They will take care of me. Right? Wrong. I was on that one. So a lot of issues lets start with the obvious one. Why on earth in that short period of time is this already shot? But anyways when I called the rep did inform me that you cannot just buy a brush roll and change it. That you need a whole new power head 119.99 plus shipping! Are you freaking kidding me? You are more than likely buying a product that you cannot replace common parts on. Like buying a car that if the battery dies you need to buy a new engine. Just stupid. This Lift-Away Deluxe Vacuum works exceptionally well... that is until your warranty is expired. You will have max of 1 year of life with most of the Shark Vacuums. I have now owned (3!) Different vacuums from Shark. The first I purchased and they had to replace thanks to the limited warranty. Actually, Walmart replaced it. Every time that each vacuum died, it was apparently due to the tabs that release so you can empty the canister. So the vacuum that "never loses suction" provides no suction whatsoever! I have a Shark HV300 Rocket Ultralight that I've owned for 8 months and used as my everyday house vacuum. The small 6 inch hose in the brushroll attachment cracked unexpectedly when vacuuming recently. The design of the attachment is flawed as any hose that bends constantly simply from using the vacuum is going to crack. I called Shark as I believed I was under a 1 year warranty. They did not ask any information about a warranty and instead attempted to sell me a whole new attachment for $100 as the hose is not replaceable by itself. I was firm and stated that I would not be purchasing anything as the hose should not have cracked from normal use after 8 months.

Eventually the customer service agent stated he could give me half off (now $50) for the part which I continued to state would not work for me. Finally he said he would give me the attachment for free and I would just need to pay shipping. Shark should be ashamed of running their customer service line like a car salesman operation. They sell a faulty part and then try to make you pay for a replacement by playing a ridiculous salesman game. I love the Shark vacuum but they need to work out these flaws in their system. The hose should not crack after normal use in less than a year and they should not make the entire attachment need to be replaced as a result. Lastly, making customers pay for your faulty parts by playing salesman is not a good way to create a loyal backing.

One of my primary reasons for purchasing a Shark Vacuum is their claim that if ANYTHING goes wrong with the vacuum within 5 years they will service it at their expense, including shipping. In September of 2017 my 2 year old Shark Vacuum stopped picking up anything and emitted a terrible burning smell. I contacted Shark via email and after about 5 emails back and forth they asked me to call them. By that point, I didn't want to waste more time "discussing" the issue and ordered a vacuum from their competitor. But I really want to use the Shark and so having a day off I finally had the time to sit down to call Shark and discuss the problem.

As I suspected, the CSR wanted to "walk me through some simple steps" to see if I couldn't fix the machine myself. I informed the rep that I was 63 years old with arthritis in my hands and that I was not capable of repairing the machine myself and that's why I had purchased the Shark. He insisted I get the machine and try a few simple steps. By the time I returned to the phone with the vacuum he had hung up! I would suggest you only purchase a Shark if you are able to repair it yourself... or purchase it thru a local retailer that offers repair services.

I checked my online bank statement this morning and saw that a deduction of $470.51 was already made. I contacted Sharks customer service center immediately. The receipt states that I would not be charged until the items are shipped.

Shark states that we would not be charged until the order is shipped. I have a copy of my email receipt. My bank statement literally shows a charge of $470.51 with my balance reflecting that deduction. So, their statement of it only being “pre-authorized” is incorrect. To offer priority processing 5-7 day delivery at an ADDITIONAL charge and then have a back order is unacceptable. To then be told by a customer service rep that it will take 4-6 weeks is incomprehensible. Why even offer this service? Why would they process my payment when shipment would not be for another 4-6 weeks.

I went to Amazon.com this morning and found exactly what I would have purchased directly from Shark. Everything was in stock - the vacuum cleaner and all attachments. I’m curious as to how they would have these in stock and Shark, the manufacturer, does not have these items in stock. Their response to my email addressed to their corporate office said absolutely nothing. There was nothing on how to resolve this issue. Nothing.

I spoke to customer service two times trying to get to the bottom of the issue and all I get is they don't have information as to why, just that the orders are cancelled and I am able to purchase from a retailer but not them directly as they will just automatically cancel anything I try to order from them.

I contacted Shark and let them know that my steam mop was no longer heating. They told me as a 1 time "courtesy" they'd send me a new mop for $1 plus shipping once I returned the old one back. I was told that as soon as the tracking number was scanned, they'd send out a new one. I called last week to ask what my tracking number was for the new mop since they'd be getting it the next day, and they said I'd have it in 2-4 days. Fast forward to today, and I was told they are doing inventory and won't get my mop until 10/16. A MONTH after I sent the mop back.

They refused to give me back my money for the replacement mop, refused to give me a coupon to purchase another one, and refused to reimburse me for a "temporary" mop that I wouldn't need to even purchase had they done their job correctly the first time. I have now had to file a dispute with my bank in order to get my money back. The "supervisor" Tina, has a disgusting attitude and did nothing to help remedy the situation. After reading nothing but negative reviews on Consumer Affairs, I was rather surprised. I'm not surprised by the number of manufacturing flaws that lead to bad experiences being posted, but I am surprised to ONLY find negative reviews. My Shark experience has been the opposite, with all of the Shark products I've purchased, including Euro Pro and Ninja. In every case, I've had no issues with performance or warranty.

I purchased a Shark Navigator Lift-Away Model NV352 31, with plug serial number 2313 (yes, their plugs have a 4-digit code on them?!) direct from Shark when it first debuted on their TV infomercials. I ended up with the upgraded Lifetime Warranty and their floor cleaner, as part of a combo offer. My Shark has seen a lot of serious use; I have cats. Recently, the swivel ring at the hose-to-canister J-tube junction cracked; so I used a metal hose clamp, like you'd use on your car or the back of your washer or dryer hoses.

But the design is flawed, in my opinion, because it puts too much pressure on the coupling whenever you detach the hose to use to accessories; it gets pulled backwards and the strain is all at this one connection point at the top of the coupling where it's pinned to the canister. Mine cracked there, which led to suction loss, mainly when using the hose and accessories, but there was also some degree of loss when using it as an upright vacuum, even though the separation was not as great as when using the hose.

So I called tonight, after going to the website. In less than 15 minutes (including the time for the customer survey that I elected to take), I had a replacement headed for shipping, due to arrive in 3-5 business days. I won't lie... I was in shock, as that had to be the easiest warranty call I've ever made. The hardest part was trying to describe the location of the cracks, as I did not take the time to review the parts section of the users manual online, prior to calling.

The service rep immediately found me in their system and immediately knew what I was talking about and was able to determine that the entire motor section needed to be replaced in order to take care of the issue. My service rep spoke perfect English and knew the products, as well as the Shark Warranty program. There was nothing holding up my warranty claim except me going to get the vacuum and then trying to describe the location of the crack. I was not asked to supply pictures or proof. I was not asked to return the defective part. I was not charged a single penny. No one tried to sell me anything, perhaps because I own everything??? LoL.

I will admit that the Navigator was not a high-end vacuum like the ones today with sealed anti-allergen systems, but it's done everything advertised and stood up to the test of time in service to me... And it's still going strong. I'll probably experiment with some methods of repair on that plastic coupling site and hold onto that motor section since it still rocks a challenge like Marciano.

I'm sorry not everyone has had a great experience; I'm typically one of those people, but not in this case. If you're interested in any product out there, always understand exactly what it is and can do. Most people's reviews on products indicate an ignorance of the product's capabilities and specifications, which led them to purchase the wrong tool for the job, or to misuse the product, because they failed to read and comprehend what it was made to do and how to use the product to do what it's made to do.

Always check on TV infomercials offers that will upgrade the Warranty to a Lifetime Warranty, and make sure you carefully read the Warranty. There are limitations, including the life of the warranty, if for example they provide a complete replacement. In that case, the Warranty might end in two years, because they've legally warrantied the original item and are now giving you a replacement that has a two-year warranty. Most folks fail to read or understand a lot of that.

If you go into business for yourself, selling your own products, you'll suddenly understand and be offering the same kind of warranties. You can't give a lifetime warranty on the original AND every replacement, or you'll go broke, because people will find ways to break your products, and you'll often just have to Warranty them, because you have to assume normal wear and tear. Best of luck in your shopping and with your Shark products!!

It was a lot of trouble to package it up and mail it back but Shark told me it was my only option and they paid the postage. A new vacuum arrived and that one had a faulty motor which stopped working after 4.5 months. When I called Shark they will not give me a refund and want me to pay postage ($19.95) to send it back to be fixed. I don't want to send it back; I just want my money back because their products are junk and I can't keep sending them back every few months (at my expense). No one is able to be flexible in any way at Shark. This is a fraudulent company and I am a victim of it. I don't know where to take this but this is wrong. What can I do?

I have also had the flexible hose replaced as well. All these items were shipped without any shipping fees due to my extended 10 year transferable warranty that was on this product.

However as of August 2017 I have been told that since I require yet another motor part due to the lack of suction again... I will have to pay $20.00 for the shipping cost of this warranted part. I asked why and customer service explained that this has always been a rule and that the other customer service agents were not doing their jobs by letting me have free shipping with my warranty parts. Therefore... for five years customer service agents were not doing their jobs? On principle alone I will not ever buy another Shark product again.

I called again on March 30 and they said they had the items in stock and can ship...

However, as they checked my account they realized that I was in Canada, and the Canadian warehouse is out of stock. They will not ship the product unless they can send it from the Canadian warehouse. They will not ship from the U.S. warehouse to a Canadian consumer. They told me that the Canadian Warehouse has to place the order and once the order is placed it will ship within 4-6 weeks to the warehouse. (Again, the Canadian warehouse will order when they wish, not based on my order alone so I could be waiting even longer - if they ever order it.)

I asked them if they can ship from the US. warehouse to me, and they said no. I asked if I could speak to someone higher up the chain, but she said that the supervisor will tell me the same thing. If you buy a Shark product, it will probably work fine, but the company seems not to support Canadian consumers. As I turned it on nothing happened, no shock. As I went to engage the floor brush I started to feel the shocking. I also could see the arcing coming from the hinge of the canister on top arcing to the pipe (which is stainless steel). The arcing look liked something you would see a spark plug do on an engine.

I do heating and air for a living so appliances are like second nature to me because they utilize some of the aspects of operation. I've completely took the vacuum apart looking for frayed wires and such. Found nothing to point the culprit. One thing I noticed is that there is no ground wiring throughout the vacuum and that the only ground there might be goes to the handle where your hand rests. In my opinion it's beyond me why they would put some kind of ground at your hand of all places. Literally no grounds for motors or anything inside this vacuum. Look under a car hood and you will see grounds going everywhere. But none on a Shark.

Customer service hasn't been any service to this customer and I guess their recall didn't fix the underlying issue. We are currently going through their process of rectifying the problem by sending random parts which has been over a month since we've talked and no parts yet and is no guarantee that's the fix. I'm a American Standard dealer and I stand behind their product because they believe in their product. Shark doesn't seem to have that attitude. To have that prompt, go out of their way to make things right when things don't go right is something I believe in and hold myself to. Shark has an excellent product but seems to be putting the money into their pockets instead of the H.R. department and development. Every time we vacuum now it's like playing Russian roulette with electricity.

I have contacted Shark once a month since then, same response, part is being shipped from China, and I will be notified when it ships. Great, except it never ships, and the vacuum is useless without it. Strange that you can still buy the vacuum at almost any retailer, and any tv channel. Buy another brand, something that has good service even if it costs more, learn from the mistakes of those that have already messed up and purchased Shark.

I thought that was a long time, being the beginning of January 2017. However, better than buying a new one. When I did not receive the replacement by February 1, I called them back. They said the item was back ordered until mid-April. I don't believe a company that intended to stand behind a vacuum cleaner can expect you to wait four months for the item. Nor do I believe they ever intended to satisfy me. Better to continue selling disposable products to Home Depot, Target, Walmart...

I bought a new Shark Navigator Vacuum in 2015 with a lifetime warranty. Their warranty is a joke. The plastic hose in the vacuum has several holes in the base. When I called and told Shark about this I was told a replace part would be shipped within 9 days. I now have a notice that this part is backordered and will take 3 months to be shipped to me. The interesting part is that Shark has at least 4 channels on DirecTV to sell their Shark Vacuum but it takes a 3 months waiting period before they can replace and deliver a defective part? I don't care how good any product is if the manufacturer can not stand behind what they sell. NO MORE SHARK VACUUMS for me. My advice look somewhere else for a Vacuum that the warranty is honored by the company that makes it.

I bought the Shark vacuum from Target for quite a hefty price thinking that it would last for years. It lasted well for a couple months and degraded rapidly. It wasn't even six months later and it clogged almost each time I vacuumed! The worst part was the suction loss it simply wasn't doing its job anymore. I like to use carpet powder and the Shark could not even suction it at all! I literally would put the Shark on top of the powder and wait a whole minute and it would barely get any off my carpet! We called Shark customer care, and like many other unfortunate Shark customers received terrible Shark customer service. The representative said to us to check for clogs, we did and there was none, his next answer was pretty much we were explicit out-of-luck. Luckily for us, my boyfriend's parents gave us their 20 YEAR OLD Miele vacuum. That old Miele got the job done.

It has been very reliable and durable with one small exception, and Shark's customer service made that a non-issue. The carpet sweeper was causing the circuit breaker in my basement to trip. It didn't happen when I used it upstairs. Shark sent me a new one under warranty without hesitation. I couldn't ask for more.

Well, after about 1 year, the vacuum lost suction and the roller stopped rotating. I called the company and they said they'd send replacement parts. A few weeks later I still hadn't received the parts. An email said they were on back order but no date. Today (1 month after my first call) I called the company and the automated system said I can expect to receive the parts in MARCH!! 4 months from now.

I spoke to a representative who said they should come at end of January - so now, who knows??? I have lost trust. I requested they just send me new vacuum instead but she said that was not possible. However, a reviewer from just 2 weeks ago, sounds like they had a new vacuum sent. So now I don't believe anything they are telling me. I like the vacuum a lot but not when its not working and when the company doesn't stand up to its products. Disappointed, and a dirty house!

I have written to Shark a couple times and they are not interested in helping me. You see, the vacuum has started clogging. I have to lay the machine down, turn the two plastic locks on the beater/roller bottom to allow the vacuum tube to straighten, and then pull all the clog (dog hair, dirt, whatever) out as best I can. It then runs ok until the next time. I am so tired of unclogging a vacuum that is not suppose to lose suction, but it does every time it clogs which is most every time I use it.

In November of 2016 I purchased a new vacuum. I chose the Shark Lift Away due to the lightness of the vacuum and the seemingly easy options for use. The price was also not bad and comparable to others. I'd seen Sharks products advertised on TV and felt it was a safe buy. I was wrong. When I got home my children used the vacuum to clean their rooms. They told me that the vacuum had shocked them. They didn't want to use it anymore. I brushed it off thinking that maybe it had just been once and they just didn't really want to vacuum their rooms. Tonight I used the vacuum for the first time and felt for myself that this was NO joke!

About every 3 seconds or more I was delivered a significant shock into my hand. If my legs happened to make contact with the vacuum as well then they would receive a shock as well. It was not a small shock too. It was actually quite painful. I couldn't even finish vacuuming my bedroom. I immediately looked up Sharks customer service number and I also did a search on the product and saw article after article about recalls for the Shark Lift Away vacuums. CNN even had story after story and news reports about the recalls stating that the product was delivering shocks to people. With that information I contacted Shark.

I told the customer service agent about my problems and she acted surprised. I didn't mention at that point that I was aware of an on going problem. She then told me that she was not able to find any information about any problems for the vacuum, however their recommendation was for me to not wear polyester while vacuuming, and before I vacuum, I should wet the unit down with a damp cloth and make sure that my hands are damp while vacuuming. I should also wipe the unit down with a dryer sheet.

At that response to my problem I replied that I was 42 years old and I have NEVER had to do anything while vacuuming to prevent myself from being delivered a painful shock before and I certainly did not intend to start now. I also pointed out that customers should not have to prevent themselves from being shocked and hurt by a product they paid for. I then told her I was aware of a recall, and also multiple news stories by CNN. She told me she was not aware of any recalls or stories by CNN. I told her all she had to do was research it on the computer and she would find the articles easily. She put me on hold eventually to see "what else they could do".

When she came back to the phone she asked if I had tried to return the unit to the store. I said I had not because I didn't have the receipt anymore. Was afraid they wouldn't take it back. She told me that her manager told her that the recalls were on older models of the Shark Lift Away but there was no recall on the newer ones. I told her that there needed to be because obviously the problem was not fixed. She told me to try to take it back to the store and if they wouldn't take it back then I should call them back at Shark and they would take the vacuum back but I would have to pay for shipping the defective one to them and pay a shipping charge of $20.00 to have a replacement shipped to me. They would be sending me the exact same unit as well.

I informed her that first of all, I should not have to pay to send back THEIR defective vacuum, and I shouldn't have to pay to send a new one out. Also, why would they replace it with the same kind of vacuum when obviously the Shark Lift Aways have had continual problems and even if it was an older model that was recalled, was I REALLY expected to believe that out of ALL the newer models, only mine was accidentally defective? I informed her that good companies stand beside their products. I would call the store I bought it from and see if they would help me, however since I had called THEM directly at Shark and it was THEIR product then THEY should be handling the problem... not putting it off on the store.

I didn't call the store first, I contacted Shark and it was very poor service to have them deny the problem and to put me out by not handling it. I informed them that I would be writing Consumer Affairs as well. She did nothing to try to appease the situation at all and I was not ugly to her in any way. After I hung up I called Walmart where I purchased the vacuum. To my extreme pleasure, they took the problem VERY seriously and agreed to help me. I WILL be shopping at Walmart again and again. I will be buying a new vacuum from Walmart. I WILL NOT be buying a Shark vacuum or any other Shark product again however!

I bought the Lift-Away professional 3 years ago for about $200. I never spent so much on a vacuum cleaner, but given the good reviews, I thought it was worth it. True, the vacuum has a lot of functions. I like that it cleans well and comes with many attachments. However, the design is flawed. It is top-heavy when you use the roller as a base. When you use the attachments while using the roller base at the same time, the vacuum would fall over. I hold onto it as much as I can while using the attachments, but it still falls sometimes.

Due to this poor design, the entire piece of plastic that holds up the canister cracked apart. When I called Shark, it said since it is not a manufacturer failure, it is not covered. They would be happy to give me a discount on a new vacuum cleaner. Really? The vacuum before this cost me only $80 and lasted 10 years. This Shark lasted only 3 years (and I used it infrequently, since my cleaning lady uses her own.) I declined the coupon, as I will never ever purchase a Shark or any product made by Shark (including Ninja) again. It is made with cheap plastic and with its poor design, it is not worth the cost. Well my last vacuum, green cleaning machine from Shark, that I had for a long time, decided it was time to die, I didn't even check if I could fix it, and I'm sorry for that. The suction on this machine was unbelievable. I researched a lot for a new good vacuum, wanted to find an equal suction vacuum. The rotator was praised highly and was compared to Dyson (that is considered a great vacuum and it was double the price), plus I was happy with my previous Shark, why change? That is what I thought. I was wrong.

I got the Rotator nv750w, with a lot of extra parts. At the moment I find no great use for them but if you are already getting a new machine you might as well get the extras, how can it hurt? Well the suction is poor, all this YouTube reports and comparisons made me believe that it was better than it really is. The hose that connects the vacuum with the sweeper is too short, everything is too heavy, even with the caddy that is being wheeled behind taking care of the canister weight, the hose should really be longer. Set aside the inconveniences of the product which I'd be willing to ignore if only the suction would have been like my previous vacuum.

I'm not returning product cause it's a huge inconvenience and stupidly enough I threw the box away cause I really expected to be happy with this vacuum (that's why I love shopping on Amazon, no problem with returns, no hustles, even if its a couple of extra bucks). Bottomline, go to the store to check product live before spending $450 (Yes, I paid extra $99 + $15 shipping to get a few extras "a gift"). Hope this was helpful, not trying to say don't get it. Just check it out before you do. Maybe my expectations were high but then again, why shouldn't they be? In one word, disappointed.

How nice they replaced a cheap $1.00 belt for a $70.00 part!!! Called customer service, that's a joke, customer service. The only service I received was from behind with no lube!!! My question is this, with all the complaints how or why is this so called company still in business or at least not being held accountable? Very angry hard working consumer!!!

I bought a shark navigator vacuum a year ago. A few weeks ago it just wouldn't turn on. I am constantly cleaning the rolls, filters, and canister as I use it for work. So, it had been well maintained. Anyway, disappointed I called Shark and was told it has a 3 year warranty. They sent me a label, I packed, sent original receipt and shipped last saturday and today Saturday one week later my new Shark is here! I am so happy they stand by their products! I call it my little buddy because it is so lightweight and easy to clean. Very happy. Now the test to see how long this one will last. Happy for now though. I watched a ridiculous Youtube video with a lady taking about 15 screws out of the head, unplugging a small digital wire, taking more screws out and then finally, ''carefully" pulling the head apart, then more screws and finally, you can check to see if the belt is ok.

The whole time the simpering woman is saying how simple it is. She had to to use two sizes of screw drivers, a pointy thing to ''carefully pry'' (her words, not mine) the wheels off and a ''coin'' to turn some more locks!!! The hot wheel tires they use on the floor nozzle are cheap and fall after 1.5 years or so. I try to reattach to no avail. Once rod that holds the wheel on the floor nozzle falls off, there is no way to reattach. I have tried on both. Each time Shark charges you $90 to replace the floor nozzle. I do not like to struggle with a heavy item, that works poorly before I even begin cleaning. The customer service and ordering department is awful! The rep spoke very quickly in an effort to sell more items, sign me up for magazines, and confuse me. I also had to pay $58.00 to ship the junk to my home, then another $53.00 to send it back! Since Shark REFUSED to send a shipping label, I had to transport the heavy item to a UPS location 20 miles away to have it weighed and shipped. They do not refund shipping and charged a 10% restocking fee. I will never ever buy from them.

I have been super impressed with how the Shark upright vacuum works, and satisfied with the handheld cordless's performance. The upright is light, has several functions, great suction, easy maneuverability, etc. The problem is - they don't last. I have now owned three uprights and four cordless Shark products in about 3 years. They have so many problems and as far as I can tell, an average lifespan of about six months with normal use. Each time I have declined the store warranty, believing a product should work without needing the warranty necessarily. I believe the Shark policy is "if you want this to actually serve you for a fair amount of time, you will have to pay extra."

Because I declined store warranties, I dealt directly with Shark. They have been decent in listening and attempting over the phone troubleshooting, but ultimately, have needed to either send me a new product at a slightly discounted price, or send me parts where I pay for part and shipping - some of the time I may as well purchase another new unit for the price it would cost. Twice the replacement part was not the culprit of the issue and I ended up having to rebuy anyway, only with a long delay in the meantime. I think the Shark vacuums work as well as the Dysons I've tried, and for less money, so I keep wanting to try them again. This time around, I am going through Costco or BB&B where I know they will stand behind the products they sell without charging you an additional 25% and weeks of waiting.

Call 1. I was told no supervisor was available and that they would call back within 4 hours. This never happened. Call 2. When I asked to speak with a supervisor I was told they were all busy. I indicated that I would hold and the representative said she could not tie up her line as she needed to be taking calls. Call 3. This time the CSR told me that all the supervisors were at dinner. Call 4. I asked the CSR to speak with a supervisor. I was placed on hold for awhile and finally when the CSR came back to the phone she said she spoke to a supervisor and was told to tell me to contact my financial institution and never got to speak with a supervisor to clear up the error that Shark had made.

To make this short version. They had the wrong person. There is another person with the same name as me in another part of the country. The effort was not put into this matter to ensure that they had the right person to send the collection notice to. This whole matter was handled very un-professionally and to top it off not even an apology for the error that they made!! I will make sure all my family and friends know how I was treated. By March 20th, the vacuum was completely inoperable. On March 27th, I contacted customer service. They determined that troubleshooting did not resolve the problem and I needed a new floor nozzle. They advised it would be at my door within 3 - 5 business days. I requested a supervisor callback, and never heard from a supervisor.

On April 12th, I still had not received the repair piece and I had provided enough time for shipping delays. I again contacted SharkNinja and was advised that the replacement piece was never sent. They apologized and ensured that I would have the piece to fix my vacuum within 3 - 5 days. I again requested a supervisor callback, and no one has contacted me.

Today on April 21, I still have not received the replacement head. I pulled up the tracking information and contacted FedEx to inquire on the delay as I received notice on April 13th that my part has shipped. I was advised that although I provided the correct shipping address 5 times to two separate agents, that it was inputted into the system incorrectly, so while my part was out for delivery today (Business day 8), it was not going to get to me. I was advised they would send another replacement piece and it would be 3 - 5 days.

I again have requested a supervisor call back and do not believe anyone will call me back, nor will I ever get my product fixed. I also have been hung up by multiple agents who refuse to allow me to contact a supervisor during my contact on 4/21/2016 and treated as though I can not read the terms of the warranty, or 60 day money back guarantee fine print as included in my Shark Navigator packaging. Due to this, and being the mother of 7 children under age 8, I have to now replace 2000 sq ft of carpeting because I have been left without a vacuum for 32 days, even though my first attempt at exercising warranty rights was 7 days after originally realized the product was broken beyond normal troubleshooting.

It works on hardwood floors real good. We got ours from Shark direct. It took a while for them to send the unit. We're completely happy with it. I make sure and clean to last stage motor filters. It's simple to work however my wife gets confused on how to lift off the canister to empty it.

I've used every tool it has. The things works on stairs like nothing else would in the past. I do want a longer wand to get way up high on the walls. This won't reach above about 10' or so and we have high vaulted ceilings. It works great in the cars with the pet powered wand. The fun part is seeing how much stuff you pull up off the floor when it looked clean before you started. I hope we have better luck than people have on here so far. Time will tell. My last vacuum lasted about 14 years. It still works. We just don't use it anymore. I at one time sold Electrolux vacuums door to door 30 years ago. We bought the product at Bed Bath & Beyond, and their policy is to take it back and exchange for a new one. We didn't even have the receipt! They were able to look it up and made sure we bought it at their store. Gave us a gift card for the exact amount. We came home with a new one. No questions asked. Couldn't be happier with BBB! So we will see how long this one last and if we have a problem we can just return it again. BBB believe to deal with the warranty themselves and keep the customers happy. Shark's 'warranty' is hardly a warranty - they make you pay for shipping on the base unit. There are no service centers in any major city in the US. You have to mail the vacuum to them and pay for shipping. Shark manufactured a defective vacuum that was missing a part on the hose assembly. Shark refuses to replace the product or send the part unless I pay for it. Attached is a picture of the location of the missing part. The last vacuum we owned was a Hoover that lasted 15+ years. Shark is a joke.
