    On August 15, I called in an A/C repair. Select Home Warranty had a guy come out on the next day. The guy inspected the system annotated low pressure on the condenser and that the valve needed to be replaced. He was able to fix it that same day. And it is now March and it is still working fine. I wish all the repairman would do such a terrific job in a timeless and efficient manner. Give this repairman a pat on the back Select Home Warranty.

    After a great deal of time looking for a home warranty, I decided to go along Select Home Warranty. Sales Rep Tony was different from the other reps I’ve spoken from the different company. Everyone wants me to sign up right away and just gave me a gist of what is in the contract. Tony is different, he was very warm and very patient with me. We spent 3 hours on the phone going over the coverage of the Platinum Package. He made me feel that I am not just a sale to him. I decided after the call to sign up with them. Why?     The front loader washing machine has worked extremely well over the years although I believe my wife was overfilling it for a long while. It broke the belt and would not spin anymore. My claim was done online on a Tuesday. I got a call back on a Thursday and lastly the appointment for a Saturday. They came, they replaced they left. It was as if dealing with the manufacturer when this unit had a warranty, it was easy as can be.

    I run a business making various delicious fancy pastries. I paid a premium to cover this entire place and I was glad that this service was possible. One of the ovens that had a malfunction cost me $5000. The part that controls heat broke and of course it was an emergency to get it repaired in one to two days. Select worked with me so professionally and all I have are great things to say about them. I know most people use them for personal but if they treat a business customer this way, I am sure they do the same for all customers.

    Select will not honor contract they have with you. Give you the runaround. It's not a warranty. It's scam. Say you need something fixed they tell you it's not worth fixing and give you a low amount then you have to pay big bucks for a new one and they won't proof you bought it. We have a shower pan leak plumbing they said they have to review it first. Have not heard back from them in weeks and can't get a hold of anyone at the number. Once I did they said they could not hear me and hung up.

    Anytime I needed service on my appliances, I have no doubts that my home warranty would get it fixed. I am proud to say that I have Select Home Warranty. They had never let me down.     A year ago and a half ago we built a new kitchen with nice and expensive appliances. The one appliance that failed so far was the garbage disposal and it failed after my warranty was over.     Please help yourself. Don't purchase this warranty. Horrible service. They just keep dillydallying things without proper response. Claims submitted in Sep 2017 have not been taking care as of now. Please do not purchase this warranty. Not having warranty is lot better and gives you better peace of mind than having Select Warranty. I would give them negative stars if such a rating be given.

    I have a large family. I have six kids and three adults in my house and with everything being used I searched for weeks to find a reputable warranty company that would service almost everything. Select has been very good in being very transparent in its decisions of companies that are called to diagnose and ultimately fix my issues, biggest problem to date was a broken toilet that required a plumber, super company and super recommend!

    Been with SHW for 2 years now. The first claim was my AC unit, they say it was repaired. Following year same problem, but because they repaired it once they will not repair again. Fast forward February 2nd, filed a claim for a dishwasher. Company they use ASAP Appliance, never showed up to repair. I have called several times. Today is MARCH 26, my appliance still isn't repaired. I am promised with each call, I will be placed at the top of the list. Well if February 2-March 26 is the top of the list... shame on them. And shame on me for waiting this long to write a review. This is by far the worst company I have dealt with. And wish I could have a better recourse of punishment for them than just writing a review.     I decided to go with Select Home Warranty because the "Sales Pitch" was very enticing... They offered a $45.00 service fee, additional months and $345.00 to sign up for the year or a deeper discount if you signed up for multiple years. It sounded too good to be true! I soon found out that it was definitely too good to be true. I've had the policy for almost 2 years now and have been frustrated when attempting to get a claim approved for a broken appliance.

    The bottom line is that you have to read the fine print in the contract. For example, my water heater broke down and I submitted a claim. I was told that the claim was denied because "valves" are not included under the contract. My garage door broke and it took them 5 days to reply. In the meantime, I just paid a technician to come out and make the repair. My heating system broke and was told that they would give me $150.00 towards the replacement of the unit. This is the straw that broke the camel's back... My garbage disposal recently broke down and I received a denial email without a technician even coming to my home to diagnose it.

    During my time with SHW, the response time for a repairman or denial has been long. It typically takes 48 hours or longer for me to get a response back from SHW. The response is either the repairmen's information or "it's not covered". Many times than not, my response has been, "it's not covered". I must say that when I had another home warranty service, the response time and contract restrictions were much better. Although I paid $75.00 per visit and a higher premium, it was definitely worth it. I've chosen not to renew my contract with SHW for the following reasons:

    The fine print in the contract restricts the items that are covered (i.e. Garbage Disposal Agreement does NOT cover normal and ordinary garbage disposal failures such as jamming and resetting. This Agreement does NOT cover the following list of modules, components and parts relating to the garbage disposal: (i) flanges; (ii) rings (iv) components relating to installation/mounting (v) trash compactor; The Water Heater Agreement does NOT cover the following list of modules, components and parts relating to the water heating system: (i) flues; (ii) drain piping; (iii) pressure reducing valve; (iv) leaks (v) pumps.) Again, my advice is to take a good look at the contract and read the fine print.

    THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM! They don't do anything and if they get someone to do work for them then they will not pay them for their work! AVOID! AVOID! AVOID! --- I have been trying to get my fridge's freezer repaired for 2-3 weeks. I have made so many calls to Select Home Warranty I have lost count. The first appliance repairman they assigned had quit working for Select Home Warranty for failure to pay them for their work. The 2nd and 3rd (same repairman) repairman they assigned would not respond. The 4th repairman they assigned I called and he said he would be at my home in couple of days. He arrived and looked at my fridge for about 2 minutes. He told me he thinks someone left bottom freezer door open and the fan froze up and that I needed to turn off the fridge for 24 hours and let the fan unfreeze. This fridge is only 3 years old. So I'm not sure he knows what he is talking about but I decide to try and do what he requested.

    He requested his payment and then told me to call him once he had been 24 hours. I call the next day and say I have left it off for 30 hours. He told me to plug it back in and call him next day if it wasn't freezing. I call him in 2 days and tell him it's still not freezing. He said he will be back in couple of days to look at it. He comes back 2-3 days later. He pulls out freezer door and removes inside back panel. He said "Well your coils aren't working and it's not getting enough coolant and that's the reason your fridge isn't working properly. However, I don't work on coils because I don't have that type equipment. By the way, I have quit Select Home Warranty because they will not answer my phone calls and they will not pay me."

    I call Select Home Warranty and I am given a supervisor. He tells me he will get this resolved. He even gives me his direct # and extension. He says let him look at problem. He says he will call me back soon. I have not heard from him. I called and left him several messages. Still no response. After 3 weeks I gave up and filed a grievance/dispute with my credit card company.

    It has been some time since I have had to make a call to get a service repair done in my house but I will say it was absolutely perfect. Select took down all my information and entered it into their system and told me that I was secured a scheduled repair technician in two days. The technician first called me to make sure I was home and then arrived an hour later. He went over all the details of my microwave and decided it would be fixed with a simple part replacement.     Do not purchase a Select Home Warranty!!! Biggest rip off! My downstairs heating unit is not working properly. The tech that came out told me I needed a new thermostat. Said he had to get authorization because my unit "had not been properly maintained". (When I scheduled the appointment I was asked when the unit was last serviced, and I told them I did not know. So they knew this from the start) Waited 2 days with no response concerning the thermostat. I call Select and they tell me they won't replace the "heat exchange". First I've heard about the need for a "heat exchange". I was told by the tech I needed a thermostat!

    I am now 4 days down the road and they are still talking "heat exchange"... and said if I cancel my policy there will be a $75.00 cancellation fee! No follow through from customer service. When I called them after waiting 2 days for them to call me back, they claimed someone called and spoke with me. Gave me a date and time the "call" was made to "me", I don't have amnesia!!! No one ever returned my call. I last spoke with Edward who I was told is a manager 2 days ago, only to learn today he is in customer retention. He acted as if we had not previously spoken. I asked to speak to someone above him, he told me there is no one above him. His decision is the final decision. I told him I knew he had to have a superior. He said he did not.

    Warning and warning again. Please be aware of this company. It is fraud and illegitimate company and bunch of crooks who wants to steal your money. I had an issue with them twice, 1 with my AC back in December and recently with my Frigidaire range, they don't want to fix neither of them and want to offer me $150 as a buy out for my range which cost me $1000 and after I submits a receipt for a new replacement that I will buy out of my bucket which it doesn't make sense at all to me. According to my contract if they can't fix it they will replace it. I want to go more in detail but because of the limited space it's a short brief.

    We had an air conditioning problem during the end of last summer. I could not reach someone at Select because my phone was down and I had to send in an email request. The email request took one day to get a response setting up a case and a claim. I then called them back and they were able to issue me an appointment in 4 working days.     This company will do anything possible to deny your claim. I needed a new AC unit and they fought me at every turn. They would request information, I would provide it and then they would ask for something else. This went on for weeks. At first, they were will to pay $150.00 and not the $2000.00 they should have paid. In the end, they rescinded that offer and denied the claim altogether. I have had a contract with them for years and never need to use their services and the one time I actually need them, they denied me. Also, customer service is very rude and hard to work with. They will also tell you they will call and follow up with you but that never happens. Stay Away!!!

    Without fail they continue to honor the warranty I paid $399 for. So many contractors, techs and so on in my area but I haven't the faintest idea who is honorable. Select warranty does the research finds the good guys and pays them directly - leaving me with a whole lot less stress and worries over who is worthwhile and who is not. I have had numerous good experiences and recommend them especially for the plumbers they use.

    I have had this policy for approximately 14 months. In that time I have filed 3 claims. 2 of which were HVAC related and the other was for a microwave. 2 HVAC claim - Zero paid out. Microwave claim - $30 paid out. They deny everything. Even if the contractor states it has to be replaced. I would not recommend this company to anyone, unless they loved throwing money out the window for no reason.

    I enrolled in this home warranty program as my salesman explained that if the technician was unable to fix the problem then I would be reimbursed with the amount for a comparable item to purchase new. I don’t know where to begin, after endless phone calls and emails back and forth with the company and calling the technician I was given to call a few times, I was told it wasn’t worth fixing the washing machine. I called so many times about the claim and then had to recall the technician and then take pictures of the washing machine and they finally after 6 weeks settled the claim. The amount I was approved for was $75. This washing machine was older, but an expensive good brand machine. Again I called and emailed and was told that was the amount I would receive towards a new washing machine.

    I didn’t expect the full amount of a new washing machine but $75. dollars really? And the worst part is I had to pay $60. for the technician to come out. I have now sent them a copy of my bill for a new washer so I can receive $75. Let’s see if that ever comes. I spoke with them today and am six weeks into this. All this for $75. minus the $60. Is this policy worth anything?

    This place basically will sell you on a slightly cheaper home warranty but then have this contract which is never seen nor talked about that gets them out of repairing just about anything. I turned two things into this company. First was a garage door opener where the motor started making a terrible noise. I turned it in and several days later had to call and ask what was happening. I was told my claim was under review and a couple of days later was called by a place here in town to set up an appointment. No big deal since it was just a garage door opener. They came and looked at the opener and was told the piece that held the motor in was cracked and I would need a new garage door part. I was told they'd turn it in and get it replaced.

    After another 3 weeks I called Select back and was told to go ahead and schedule it with the same company to replace the opener and I would be reimbursed for 150 dollars. It cost 350 to replace and I asked what they meant they would only give me 150 dollars when it cost 350 to replace out of my own pocket? They referred me to a contract that was supposed to have been emailed to me which I never received. They went and ahead and sent me the contract and there it was, only 150 dollars is covered toward garage door openers. Wow. It took 2 months to get a check for what I covered out of my own pocket and it was only for 150 of the 350 dollar replacement. That's great.

    The second claim I had was my water heater on a Sunday. I was changing out filter for the a/c unit when I noticed the pan was full of water. I immediately turned the claim in online. The only problem is nothing happens when you turn the claim in. What I mean by this is nothing happens on the screen. There's no pop up screen saying "We're on it!". Nothing. No phone call. Nada. The next day I sent Select an email wondering what's going on and was given the reply they have 24-48hrs to reply to a ticket. I was like hmmm ok. On Wednesday I finally got an email back saying my water heater wasn't covered for leaks and they suggested I have it replaced by a professional. How is it the number one reason that a water heater goes out isn't covered by a home warranty whose sole purpose is to cover things like this?

    It said it right there in their contract also. The contract I never saw or heard of until I tried to use the service. It also says my HVAC isn't covered unless I have 3 years worth of maintenance records. Being that I've only had the house for a little over a years, I don't have that. Which is why I bought the home warranty. To cover the things I don't know when will break down because I don't know how well the previous owners took care of things.

    Basically this bogus contract which no one will ever see until after Select has your money, it's there get of paying for anything card. I don't believe a word of all these positive reviews. Look at the BBB site. That will tell you exactly what kind of company this is. I put my complaint in with the BBB and Select is supposedly giving me a refund on my coverage. They won't say how much that is, but told me it would take a month. Great. Maybe I can put a little of that toward my credit card I had to use to get a new water heater installed. This is just a big scam. Stay away from this company at all costs!

    The sales rep was helpful and happy to sell me a 2 year home warranty and promptly took my money. I have used them twice in a year for two different issues and each time it was such a project. I had to make many, many phone calls! First I was told a tech would contact me then no one did. They said this a few times when I called to check. Finally after several months, they said they couldn't find a tech and would issue me a check for $45 to cover repairs of my item which nowhere near covered it. I had to push back and eventually they escalated the issue and increased the amount. Essentially the same thing happened the second time around. I was so fed up I wanted to cancel but was told my refund would be prorated at the monthly fee they charge customers which is higher that the lump sum I paid so my refund would be pennies on the dollar. Fine! I will keep it even though the service is sub standard.

    Then I had an issue with my refrigerator which is more of a mainstream item so I figured no problem. I submitted my claim online and after two days with no email confirmation or any communication I called. The rep who was very difficult to hear and understand told me that a check had been mailed to be for a full refund of my policy although he couldn't say when or why?? He transferred me to billing who also couldn't not answer my question as to why or when but the bottom line is I don't have the check and according to the company do have a policy!!

    I think they are at the very least extremely inefficient and at worse are a scam. I never write reviews and held out after the initial incompetence but this situation was just far too extreme to not make public. Even though they were much less expensive than other companies, I would have rather gone with another company and received service. They did nothing for me but send me two small reimbursement checks when I had to go out and get the repair done myself when the whole reason I wanted a warranty was so someone else would take care of finding a repair person. AVOID THIS COMPANY UNLESS YOU WANT TO THROW YOUR MONEY AWAY.

    I opted to call for repair rather than online when I had an emergency failure of my water heater. The claims representative did a good job tracking down a plumber who was insured in the nearby area. The plumber called me and told me how his service would work and when he could schedule an appointment for me. I told him the severity and that I had no hot water and he said he was very busy so he could come by very late in the evening. When he came he was very professional and told me the whole water heater was dysfunctional and said he would have to get authorization from SHW to replace it.     I only had SHW for about 7 months. Now my AC unit is messing up and they are requiring 3 years worth of maintenance. I just purchase my home in May 2017, then serviced my HVAC in August 2017. Now they are penalizing me for not having data on the HVAC. I am a real estate agent and will never recommend this company to any of my clients. I just talk with two supervisor. Still no help.     Upon initially signing up for TWO policies with Select Home Warranty, it "seemed" to be a good deal and the rep was courteous. However, two months after the policies I made a claim. I called many times within 3 weeks for them to assign someone to assess the issue. Mind you, NO ONE called me to check the status of how things were going although I called multiple times within that three weeks. So, I requested to cancel the policies and a refund. Long story short, after many phone conversations having to JUSTIFY WHY I was requesting a refund, I was escalated to the corporate office. From there, the manager "Eli **" seemed to do his job and salvaged the relationship by assigning someone to come out and gave a price break (using my credit card I initially paid with... I say this because this becomes very important at the end).

    After the assessment was performed, I was told that my claim needed to go through another review to ensure it was not an excluded issue. If approved, then it would be repaired. By this time, I'm livid. I request a FULL refund at which point they claim they can only give by check. I cancelled Jan 4, 2017 and as of TODAY have yet to receive my refund. They claim it was mailed Feb 4th, 2018 - then returned Feb 23rd and re-issued Feb 26th and today is Mar 6th. I have called 3-4 times and they KEEP giving me the run-a-round.

    NOW, they want me to wait until Mar 9th and if I have not received, they will cancel and re-issue ONCE AGAIN. In all the calls that I have made, not one person has called me back to follow through with ANYTHING! The Corporate Office will not call back and I'm STUCK waiting again because THEY CLAIM they cannot issue a REFUND in the same method I paid, BY CREDIT CARD! Just how can that be when Eli, their manager in the corporate office gave me a refund when I spoke to him about cancelling. SHABBY BUSINESS! Consider yourself WARNED!

    We had a pipe burst in my attic on a Saturday. So we wrapped it with tape and put a vise grip in place on it to keep it from running water throughout my garage and just get through the weekend, while alternating turning the water on and off for showers and such. When the contracting company, IGD Plumbing LLC, 17907 Kuykendahl Rd, Spring, Tx came out, he told me I had to pay my copay up front before he could look at it (new company policy) - then he took a picture of it, sent it to Select Home Warranty and says "this is under review" and left.

    I have never heard another word from them. I have sent an Email to Select Home Warranty, requesting a refund for my remaining months (I have paid for a year in advance to get a small discount - now I know why they push for that). I have never had any kind of response from them except an automatic, "We would like to acknowledge that we have received your request. A support representative will be sending you a personal response, usually within 24-48 hours". I have gotten that response twice, never to hear anything else.

    The dryer in my closet wasn't drying anymore so I called and made a repair claim with Select Home. Two days to my appointment to make and I did notice that the power box circuit showed off every time I tried putting it on a run cycle. It was tripped off. The appointment came and I was told that the plug to the wall somehow was shorting and needed to be rewired. It needed a special tool he had back in his shop which he got and came back in 2 hours.     One of the six chambers on my piping leading to my boiler was leaking water at a slow pace for about a year now. I was told it was just sweat from the pipe. The pipe "sweating" does not sound like an accurate diagnosis but I left it alone. When I was in the market for a warranty coverage for my home Select Home Warranty said that they also include plumbing coverage and after 30 days I could request a diagnosis claim. They sent me a organization that figured out the inside of the pipe has a special tape that seals the pipe and it was old and needed refurbishment.     I purchased this home warranty about 10 months ago and every issue I had with my appliance like (gas stove) and garage door was denied by this company. This company will make you pay about $45-$60, to have their technician come out to your house to diagnose your problem and after you've paid they will tell you, it is not covered, even though you have paid your premium and their service fee and also your contract says the item is covered. They might tell you, "oh we cover garage doors, but we don't cover the spring and your spring is broken."

    They also told me that even though my contract says my gas stove is covered, they will not fix the stove because it broke due to lack of maintenance and my stove was too old. Nowhere does their contract specify an age limit for an appliance. I am interested in a class action lawsuit for deceptive practices. All the company does is to collect premiums and make you pay out service fees, but look for every reason to deny claims.

    It is safe to assume SHW is one of the top tier companies in the warranty business. Microwave kept beeping like crazy and making me even more crazy. I unplugged the unit and waited for an appointment which took a little over a week. The button panel got jammed and had to be replaced. Select decided it would be more viable to send me out a $150 check and for me to buy a replacement.     I had the great pleasure of buying my warranty from Select on April 19th. Since the time I ordered the warranty plan my General Electric dishwasher failed to operate. I called phone support and told them that I heard the motor running but no water was coming in. I had a service technician came who told me the unit was ok! What was wrong was the pipe was clogged and he wasn't a plumber. I called back Select who told me they would send out a plumber and after my scheduled appointment came the plumber did clean it and now it works again. I would have had to pay twice otherwise.

    I am a new homeowner and when I was shopping for a home warranty policy, I was advised by my realtor to make sure I get a policy that kicks in right away, Select promised me the policy will be effective right away. I called a few days after check was mailed and the agent stated the policy will start right after they receive the check. A week later I called to see if the policy is effective and the agent stated it will start after 30 days of receiving check. Thankfully nothing is broken that needs to be fixed, but I would not recommend this company, I like transparency and this to me is a red flag. If you are a new homeowner and want a policy that will kick in right away, shop somewhere else.

    I have a hood over the oven that has a double fan setup. The fans from continued use were spinning very slowly. The unit is only one and a half years old and the manufacturer warranty is no longer valid.     When I home was built I had various choices of options and one was something unique that I never heard of called a central vacuum system. I have now had one for a few years and just had a excellent claim made with my warranty from Select. The unit in various rooms was not pulling dirt as strongly anymore. The technician that came just saw that from a lot of use it needed a good cleaning and he was authorized to do it. It only took a day and operating it is back to as new. It's a great product.

    Had a leak in bathtub faucet. They sent a letter of approval for claim. 6 days later had a contracted plumber come out and fix faucet. Paid the service fee. Today, one day later they up and send a notice of denial of claim. AFTER the work has been done and 6 days had elapsed since they authorized the job to be done. Had a policy with them for 2 years. This was my first and last claim. I do not recommend anyone get SELECT HOME WARRANTY, due to their nickel and dime tactics, and their reckless "research" and "claim" staff. They did not have the skills nor the foresight to vet a claim before sending out someone to fix it, and THEN deny the claim after the work was done. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

    I have a Jenn-Air microwave hood where door did not close, so unit did not work anymore. As I called Select Home Warranty, I had to answer all kinds of questions, to get response that they did not want to send over a technician, because it was cheaper for them to have me replace the unit... This unit was only 2y old and costs $749 plus tax and installation. SELECT HOME OFFERED ME $95.00 total ON CONDITION I PRESENT INVOICE NEW UNIT!!! I asked them on many occasions to explain the amount and WHY they did not even send someone over to fix the door... THEY REFERRED TO ART blah blah blah, and even after complaining to the BBB they did not care or tried to fix. THEY ARE HORRIBLE, NEVER take their warranty, I finally bought an almost $1,000 new unit with 5y warranty from factory!!! They need to change their name to NEVER SELECT HOME WARRANTY!!!

    My home recently had a problem with the fireplace where smoke was accumulating and we had to stop using it while a repair was created and issued.     I ordered my warranty 4 months ago. Three days ago my dishwasher plastic tubing failed to push water through. I made an online ticket in the warranty program on the Select website and was greeted with a message that a service person would need more information and I had to call in. I called an hour later from work and was on the phone for 20 minutes during my lunch break. When I got through to a support staff they told me that they had a appliance certified member in my area and to give them a call with a special claim number.     I have owned my own home for 8 years now. The backyard houses a sauna that is great in the colder months. The jets stopped pumping out hot water and I had to call Select for repair. They asked me several questions and had to call me back. This was an additional product I purchased for my warranty. The call back told me they had only one technician in the area but he was on vacation. It would take a week and a half for him to get to me. I waited the week and a half and he showed up and saw that the heating motor was not functioning and needed to replace it. It took him 2 days to order it and another to install. 2 weeks total time.     My furnace went out in January 2017 in the middle of a Chicago winter with a one year old child in the house. We called Select Warranty and they sent out one of their contractors who looked at the furnace (never touched it) took pictures and stated "your motor is shot, I am going to recommend a new furnace." He then went on to say, "Good luck getting anything out of Select, they are the worst warranty company to work with." He sent in the pictures and paperwork and Select contacted us and stated we would receive $150 towards repairing or replacing the furnace. We ended up replacing the furnace, but I have been fighting with Select for over a year for my $150 check that I never received even though I have called and e-mailed numerous times.

    Now that the warranty is expired they are using the excuse they can not issue a reimbursement on an expired warranty. Really? This warranty expired December 31, 2017 and I have been fighting them since February 7, 2017. They didn't hesitate to take my $500 for the warranty, yet they refuse to pay out their piddly claims. Customer service sucks. You get generic e-mails back from them and can never speak to a manager. I would tell everyone I know to stay away from this company. When their own service people give you names of "good" warranty companies and say how bad Select is, that says a whole lot about the company!

    My annoyance was that the roof was leaking down the side of the house messing up all the siding. It cause wood damage and needed to be repaired. I ordered additional roof coverage that came with the platinum care plan. For free the roof worker came and replaced some tiles and set it so that the water would drain differently.     This company is a complete ripoff. I had their policy from about October 2017 until February 26th of 2018. This company promise all I needed was to pay the $75 to the technician they would handle the rest but because I didn't have the service paperwork from 2014 to the current date, they claim they could not repair my heater, this should have been said January 11 when I made the claim but not until I called on Feb 25th did they tell me this. I believe the purpose was to get as much money out of me as they could knowing they had no intention of ever repairing my heater. The first company they sent out here didn't even bother to make a report. Two weeks later they tell me they had to change the company.     We had requested service call for our air-conditioning unit. We were getting the runaround from the company with all different excuses and finally were told to hire our own air-conditioned technician, send the bills for reimbursements. We have send two separate diagnostic estimates about our air-conditioned, we had hired one of the companies to do the work and submitted the bill to Select Home Warranty for reimbursement. After few days they had called us and were advised that they will not cover the repair after information that they had received from the technician. Total lie and untrue, they had never spoke to the technician and it was verified.

    We had filed a lawsuit in Seminole County Florida in order to try to recover the damages that were promised to be reimbursed, on February 21, 2018 Select Home Warranty was served by the sheriff department in their place of business, the trial is scheduled for February 27, 2018 and he would be our pleasure to provide all the evidence about the dishonesty of this company.

    We are on day 5 of having no operable plumbing in our home! We cannot use any one of our 3 restrooms, wash dishes, shower or do laundry! SHW has assigned 2 different contractors to our problem. One on day one and one on day 2. Both have failed to come to my home. This is because SHW uses unlicensed, subpar "contractors". They can't use better because of their lag time in paying contractors. In the meanwhile we have a sink overflowing with dirty dishes, laundry piled up, no way to safely prepare food, we can't shower and we have to use the restroom in a bucket.     I purchased a home warranty since our home is 18 years old and had a feeling some major systems might need to be repaired. Did some research on the Top10 best home warranty site which rated Select Home Warranty (SHW) as a 9.4 out of 10. I paid $400 upfront which is a discount vs. doing the payment plan. Also, they granted an additional 3 months to the coverage. I read the terms of the agreement and saw that it was written vastly in favor of the company. Had my first claim last summer 2017 when our microwave broke. It is part of a microwave/oven combo by Whirlpool and not a cheap unit. Had to pay for the repairs of approximately $350 and SHW only covered $95.

    In the fall of 2017 our downstairs furnace broke. The company that SHW sent said the whole unit was shot. I got a second opinion from another HVAC company who confirmed. I posted the claim along with 5 years of receipts validating I had kept up with annual maintenance. The cost of replacing the furnace was over $2000. SHW denied the claim based on they do not cover Heat Exchangers. I countered with the Heat Exchanger could have been fixed/replaced vs. the complete unit. However, the HVAC folks recommended to replace and SHW would help offset cost. Now, I am getting hounded every day by SHW to renew (March) when my policy does not cease until June 2018. I should have studied the negative reviews better. This is the worst company I have ever dealt with, I would not have my dog get a warranty from them.

We ended up having an issues with our AC unit and we were told that because we don’t have all the service records it wasn’t covered. We canceled our policy and requested a refund.     After we purchased our condo, we thought it would be a good idea to get an insurance policy for our appliances. What a mistake! We have been waiting over a month to get our refrigerator repaired to no avail. We have documentation to substantiate that our refrigerator was manufactured in 2006, as our condo was only built in 2007. Select Home Warranty is claiming that our refrigerator was built in 1990! As a result, they only want to give us $100 towards a $500+ repair!! It appears that they will do anything to not have to pay you what you thought you bought insurance to cover. Had a bad blower motor and they would have to get approval from Select before replacing new motor, paid service co. $60 for the deductible. I strongly advise that don't ever buy Select Home Warranty. Their customer service is worst, they never give you true answer. They are nothing but cheaters, I am not sure how Consumer Affairs given them 4 star rating. I think we should file lawsuit against this big scam.

    Had 6 of 6 claims denied for ordinary items. Fine print is very detailed and eliminates most occurring repairs. You are required to pay the repairman the copay even if they don't do anything or if the repair is declined. Basically throwing your money away twice!

    Peace of mind knowing when things break and are disturbed they will find workers and pay for them. Really has its advantages and I can't recommend enough. My claim was on my 4.8c refrigerator, I did not expect that they would be so quick and come to my house in only three days.     I simply looked up their website, put in my phone number and email address. When they contacted me I told them I decided not to have their warranty and yet they call and text me everyday since even after calling them and asking to be removed from their call and text list. Do NOT inquire from them or be subjected to the same treatment. Hopefully one day they will actually take me off their list.

    The company is terrible to deal with. If you submit a claim they do everything they can to delay and excuse you of fraud. Once the DO approve a claim, they take forever to pay for what is due to a customer, it took me over three months after I paid for the repair. DO yourself a favor and run far from the company. They will take your money and not honor the contract. You will spend hours on the phone getting the runaround.

    I purchased my home warranty when I bought my house in March 2017. I paid the entire one year premium up front. I filed my first claim when my furnace stopped working. It was less than 15 degrees outside, 6 am and I called a 24 hour repair facility to come fix the furnace. I submitted my claim online 3 weeks ago. I have been asked for the same documentation multiple times, been told the claim was finalized just to find out later that it is not. The blower stopped working and had to be replaced. They are stating my claim will not be paid without service records. Why would I have service records for a home that I just purchased?

    Customer service is lacking. I am transferred to multiple people who have zero answers, have spent hours on hold over multiple attempts to contact, tried the online chat option just to get the runaround. I would never utilize this company. I have owned three homes in my lifetime and have always had a home warranty. This is the first time I have utilized this company and will be the last. 100% SCAM!

    My experience is good here in Michigan with SHW. Historically, they are precise in the diagnostic and so far 4 positive completions of damage in my home just like the roof. This protection is for sure my savior during bad weather and breakdowns.

    Beginning in Dec. I purchased three home warranties for properties in NC, SC and FL. All seemed to be going to provide good value as well as service. I read reviews and they seemed to be mostly positive. I have used warranty companies before and had only one problem when they did not cover my saltwater pool. I thought I would try another company this time around. WHAT A MISTAKE!!! I made a claim on the oven in the Florida property. Had to do it online-not live as I was used to.

    Someone from Select Home called back same day to say they received my claim and to get further info. Not sure why I could not do this first. But in any case, they said a service repair company would call back within 72 hours. I thought this was too long and SHW. Well to my surprise they told me my policy would not take effect for another two week "pre-existing"!! I was blown away. Funny how the tech never told me that when he called me to confirm my claim. I have now requested a full refund on my three policies. I was told I would receive it within 30 days. From others I see this may not be true, they have not received their money back. I hope I do. If there is anyone involved in a class action suit against this shady organization, let me know. I want to get on board...

    Had our furnace go out when it was below zero outside. Since they couldn't find anyone to take the job they said I could find my own and be reimbursed. A week after the repair they said they would not cover the cost because the contractor repaired something that should have been a maintenance item. I contacted the contractor and he said the part would never be part of maintenance. A week later, two weeks after the breakdown I get a call apologizing for the long delay and that they could not find anyone to take the job but would keep trying(?). Really? Two weeks of no heat in zero weather? They obviously had no idea what was going on so just for a test I said OK well contact me when they found someone. Still waiting after six weeks.

    Second try dealt with our oven. I entered a claim and received an email that a contractor would be calling me. We made an appointment which was missed. We made a second appointment which was also missed. The contractor has an F rating with BBB. Called Select Home Warranty and was told I would have another contractor assigned within 24-48 hours. 48 hours later I called and was told it might be 24-48 hours more IF they could find someone. They offered to let me find my own but based on my previous experience I don't think that is a good idea. I have since learned that most reputable companies in the area will not get involved if Select Home Warranty is in the picture. Bottom line is that in two attempts under different circumstances I've tried to use their warranty service. In both cases they have been unable to find a repair person in a large city that will associate themselves with them. I used American Home Shield before and had no issues.

    I began services with Select Home Warranty in early summer 2017 and made a service request in August. The contractor was out of town and was to call me when he returns. He never called back. Our air conditioner begin performing ok for a several weeks. In October we begin having issues again and we attempted to make another request for services. Select was never able to get us a contractor for services. They couldn't even get a contractor to schedule several weeks out. Which tells me that they must not have any contractors!!

    When I asked about the original contractor I was told that he is no longer under contract with them. We were told that we could get our own contractor and pay for services and they would reimburse us. However, what is the point of having a warranty if I have to find my own contractor and pay upfront possibly thousands of dollars if the unit needs to be replace. Also paying upfront there is no guarantee that Select would approve all charges. This companies lack of follow up and concern is just not acceptable. We have American Home Shield with another property and will definitely be getting them with this property too!

    I signed up 1 year contract. Salesperson said if we do not satisfied, We can cancel anytime and get Full refund. (They did not tell me there is $75 cancellation fee) I ordered first claim. 2 plumbing problems. I had to pay 2 x $45 = $90 copay even the same plumbing company fixed it in the same time. Plumbing company said we need new faucet. I thought Home warranty company is going to cover. When I called Select Home Warranty, salesperson suggest me to get 1 more year $399 contract and He will add faucet coverage. So I added one more year. But This plumbing company said they can just put ring and can repair. We did not need new faucet.

    Next one was Electric issue. They sent HVAC company to repair electric. They said he is certified to repair electric. But This technician did not have any company name on truck or no way to know if he was certified. I had to wait almost 1 week for this service. So I decided to cancel. I called 2 times to cancel. They do not let me cancel. Finally they said I need to pay $105 (service call fee) + $105 (service call fee) + $75 + $75 for cancellation Fee. This is not what I signed up. Salesperson can trick into yearly contract then very hard to cancel. I paid $799 per house. About $1600. Hope they will Full refund soon.

    I signed up for a quote from them online, and it dawned on me that I should look up their online reviews. Things such as denied claims, slow payment, constant follow up necessary on the customers part, etc. all gave me pause. A few minutes later, I get a sales call. Immediately, I was offered a better rate, without even conversation. I politely thanked the agent and got out of my mouth that I had looked up reviews. He interrupted and went on for a good while about all the different awards they’d received and the overall ratings they had.

    When he was finally finished, I began to explain that I really needed more time to think about it and would prefer that they let me follow up should I make the decision to proceed... He immediately began overtalking me. When I asked him to please let me finish, he hung up! At this place point, I was furious and wanted to share my experience with a manager. I called the number from which I’d been called, pressed the option for sales, heard call-center-like background noise, and then the call was disconnected without anyone saying anything. I may buy a home warranty, but it won’t be from these guys.

    Luckily for me I only had to make one claim to date on my HVAC system but the service I received from Select warranty was great. The friendly staff on the phone took my claim and it took 2 days to get a call back with a timeframe for an appointment.     We filed our first claim on January 5, 2018 after starting a 3-yr policy since August 2017. We were told that they would get back to us for a repair company within 12-24 hrs. We had to continuously call them and they kept telling us there was no repair person in our area. Our area is Northern Colorado with about 250,000 population and there are several repair people here. On January 22 they finally sent a repair person and the repair cost would be 269.40 and they rejected doing the repair and would only give us 125.00 towards the repair or a new washer since it was of a certain age. So far we have paid them 1,047.00 and 45.00 for the repair call and still have a broken washer. Our advice is to not do business with this company!!!

    The first time I wrote down the date I contacted this business was Jan. 8th. That was however the date I spoke to a supervisor after not having a return call for at least 3 days to look at our HVAC system. Since Jan. 8th we have called the company every day for a status update. Always, no answer. We were given a name for a supervisor who no longer returns or takes our calls. We have been without heat for a little over 2 weeks. Finally my husband was able to speak to someone today who told us, our claim had been denied. Why not call to tell us that? Why had a technician not been sent to our home? We were advised to do the upfront work and we would be reimbursed. Didn't happen. I will NEVER do business with this company again.     First time filing a claim and they are giving me a run around - mind you they haven't rejected my reimbursement but they keep adding additional requirements each time I call them. Note, they never provide an update either by email or phone (they keep saying they will send an email and it never happens). Essentially they agreed I could use my own technician and file a reimbursement form - after much follow up on what process was (it didn't exist online), I sent in the invoice and then radio silence. Called up after 2 weeks, they asked me to resend - again radio silence.     On 10/29/2017 I turned the heater on and it wasn’t working. I called Select Home Warranty who I have a contract with in case something breaks down in the house. They sent me contractor, Hartco Appliance Repair, next day. Person name is Robert **. He diagnosed that it was motor jammed and sent estimate to insurance. He demanded to make a check payable to his personal name. I called insurance and they confirmed that it’s Ok, they work with him before. I paid him $60.00 with my check for visit and he left. Next day he called me and asked for $181.00 for motor, insurance company tells me it’s my responsibility so I paid him.

    He promised to me that heater will be fixed by 11/2/2017 which is in two days. On November 2 I called him and he stated that he’s got the part and coming tomorrow to install. Since then he’s not picking up the phone on me. Select Home Warranty did nothing to protect me as insured. Today, November 8, they sending another contractor to my house. I called insurance and asked them to get in touch with Robert ** so he can drop off the part at my home. They can’t so I will need to freeze with my family for another week until new contractor gets my part. Temperatures at night is under 30 degrees. I actually saved this in my phone hoping that they will do something to this contractor. Spoke to them today. Still waiting for my reimbursement check since I had to find my own contractor. They reimburse only $250 since I don’t have 3 years of maintenance records even that I bought a house year ago.

    I became a member of Select Home Warranty last July 2017. They automatically withdraw my monthly payment from my bank account. When I made 2 service request last September 2017, it took 3 weeks for them to contact me. I waited for a month and no technician for either of my request came. I called them. They said, we thought I will be the one to look for my technician. So they said they will correct it and will send tech. 3 weeks later, still no show. I called again to ask for a full refund and cancellation. They let me talked to one their so called account specialist and negotiated with me to give me $200 for the service not renders. I agreed and signed the online agreement.

    1 month past, no $200 check came. But they continued to take money from my account monthly. I called again, they said it will take 39 days before the check to be process. Negotiated again with the so called specialist. Again, they fooled me. Finally, this January 2018, I emailed them for a full refund. I reported them to BBB too. I called my bank to stop the payment. They did not refund all the money they STOLE from my account. This company is a full of FRAUDULENT activity. They are NOT true to their words and to what they advertise. Don't get fooled by this company. They will just get your money and will offer ZERO service. Of all the complaint I read about them, I wonder why they were not closed by the government authority. These needs to get to the media to stop them from fooling more people!!!

    As with any home warranty service, I am aware of the bureaucracy required but for a company that advertises themselves as having the best customer service, this company falls short. The process for submitting a claim may be easy but EVERYTHING requires a phone call. They call you to verify the claim, then you need to track down the contractor to set up an appointment, if the diagnosis requires approval you need to call again to make sure it goes through, another call to get reimbursed if the broken item is out-of-pocket, etc. etc.

    My cooktop claim was started in October and now 4 months later, I'm still waiting for a reimbursement check. It's been a whole week for my leaking sink but the contractor cannot come back out until he is authorized that he will get paid. By offering a massive discount for signing up for multiple years, I'm not committed to this plan so must deal with the almost full-time job of having to call daily to follow up whenever something needs to be fixed. You get transferred to 3 different departments in order to track down your claim only to have to repeat your same frustrations to yet another customer representative.

    All home warranty companies are incredibly shady, but SHW has lied to my family for months since we signed on in July 2016 about sending a reimbursement check.     Here is a warning for anyone looking at buying a Select Home Warranty... go with a different company. Have a few issues with them. First, false advertising from their sales reps. Specifically regarding roof leak repairs. They say they will repair your roof, but they don't cover shingles, metal roofs, structural leaks or a mercies of other materials or roof types. In other words they don't cover any leak or repair. They sell you a service and cover nothing! Next the company advertises quick service. I am going on 6 weeks since initial call and I have had to call them 5 or 6 times to get them to follow up. After following their process email/phone calls the company is still giving me the runaround. The company is more willing to cancel your policy than provide actual service.

    I have submitted 2 claims on this home warranty policy and each time I have gotten a run-around. The first time I was told they would only pay part of my claim; after much complaining, the claim was settled. Recently I filed a claim for a broken water heater, which is clearly stated as covered in the policy. I was told that it isn't covered because I reported that the water heater was leaking water and the policy doesn't cover leaks. IT IS LEAKING WATER BECAUSE IT IS BROKEN, THAT'S WHAT THE POLICY IS SUPPOSED TO COVER!!!! I canceled the policy and was told I will get less than half ($266.64) of the $699.99 I paid five months ago. I expect a prorated refund, but not more than 50% proration!!! There are hundreds of negative reviews online regarding this company and they all tell the same story: Select Home Warranty is a scam and is ripping off consumers every day!

    The most soonest experience with Select Home Warranty was on the gas furnace. I put in a ticket because two contractors came and told me they fixed it and that was not the case. The last fix lasted up until my warranty came in. The heat kept cutting off. The contractor Select told me specifically what was done wrong without plumbers and how they will fix it and completed the job. I will see in a few months how well this holds up but I’m hopeful.

    I purchased a home warranty from this company on 5-26-2017. As part of their contract, the company agreed to arrange for a contractor or technician to repair covered appliances in my home when they became inoperable. Since purchasing, I filed four different claims. The first and second claims were received and, after a period of time when they went unresolved, the company advised that I should arrange for my own repair, submit documentation, and they would reimburse, less the cost agreed to in the contract ($45). These repairs totaled $100 for the first claim and $198 for the second claim. The third claim was denied on the basis that my appliance, a dryer, was still functional, despite the unusual noises that were emitting from it.

    The fourth claim was filed on 1/1/2018. My dishwasher is no longer functioning. After several days of not hearing from the company, I contacted them. I was sent an email shortly after with the name of a local contractor who would provide service. Upon contacting the contractor, I was advised that he did not work with home warranty companies, and he would not be working on my dishwasher. After more than ten days, the claim has still not been addressed. I contacted the company on 1/12/2018 and requested cancellation of my contract and a refund. I was told that they would cancel my contract, but that I was not entitled to any reimbursement, despite the fact that the company failed to honor their own obligations per the contract terms.

    Unbelievably slow in handling claim! It took THREE DAYS before we could get our Home Warranty selected plumber out. The entire process was very cumbersome. He kept saying one thing and home warranty kept saying another. The plumber's customer service was terrible. When he finally did come he wouldn't lift a finger until SHW reviewed and approved his diagnosis, making it FOUR days with no running water. When he came back and only fixed 1 out of 3 of our problems. He kept trying to leave and say he was finished when the shower was obviously still leaking. If SHW insist on using their own plumbers, they need to pick better ones! Every part of this process was difficult and I spend hours and hours on hold until I finally insisted on speaking to a manager. There has to be better options out there for home warranties! Do NOT recommend.

    This home warranty do not repair anything. They said they cover everything but actually they don't. I have three claims in the last three years and none of them repaired by them. The first is the disposal clogged, they said they do not repair it. We have to find a company ourselves to repair it. Another one is microwave, they said we have to find somebody to repair it and they only reimburse $100. They also did not cover my swimming pool repair which they said they will.

    My gas hot water heater stopped working and I contacted Select Home Warranty. The next day a repairman diagnosed the issue as a failed tank and noted that the tank needed to be replaced. Select Home Warranty sent me an email denying the claim and they referenced the section of the policy which states that leaks are not covered. (Please note that when I called to file the claim and they asked what was wrong; I mentioned that there was water in the drain pan below.) I am the homeowner for less than 2 years and I do not have maintenance records.

    The tank was installed in April 2005. Another professional contractor stated that the damage would not have occurred within the last two years and I had gotten the full use out of that tank. After receiving the email I initiated a call and asked to speak with a supervisor; no one was available and they promised a supervisor would call me back. I still have not received a callback however I have received several calls about renewing my contract that is due to expire this month. I will not renew my contract and caution anyone considering signing one with this company. This company did not cover me at my time of need.

    In May/2017 I signed up an agreement (their best option) with this company for three and a half years, and I paid them $1200. One month later I had a problem with my A/C, and the technician that came here (after 11 days and several phone calls ). He didn't do the work because he said this company never paid them back. The problem was not fixed at this time.

    I contacted this company and they were going to send someone else, but until today no one ever came nor contacted me, and we had a super hot summer thanks to Select. In September I asked them to cancel my account, and today (Jan/5/2018) I received a check of $636 for my agreement (after staying with them for four months only). This company is dishonest, and they will not help anybody to fix anything at all. This was a bad experience for me and for my family. If you are up to the challenge of begging for service, help and feedback that will cause lots of stress this is the right company for you. I am not sure what would have happened if I need more help with the other items that were covered under this agreement.

    I am having the worst experience ever with this company. I called and put a claim on a noise from my heating unit and they said they will send email with few contractors info to call them. I waited 2 hours and they didn't. I called and got a phone number for a contractor, called him and he came same day. His diagnosed is that the fan motor needs replacement. This was Jan 1st. We have below freezing here in VA. Up until today they haven't approved this yet. I called them many times so did the contractor, but they just keep you on hold forever and never call back.

    When they answered on Jan 5th, they said they processed it. Then on Jan 5th they sent me an email asking for pictures of the part/unit. I have no idea how can I do this and even why? I emailed them back and called them many times and up until this moment, Jan 6th at 1:30pm EST time. No answer. I have kids and old parent in the house and we are freezing. Also, using the Emr heat can only be used at night time. I will never recommend this company ever to anyone. I hope they resolve this issue immediately.

    Great but not perfect experience with my dishwasher. They came and I thought their work was completed but after only 2 days the same problem happened again. SHW sent the company out again who noticed a fault in the new part and ordered another. I did not pay a second deductible but lost time.

    Called Select for a heating problem, Select issued a claim # and email and issued email stating they have a service provider who had accepted the job. The email stated wait 12 hours for contact, waited no contact, called provider recording only. I called Select and basically they stated that if I now wanted service it would cost $170.00 but maybe I could negotiate with Futch. Customer Service don't care, they get your money and then no service... Do not buy from this company.

    I submitted a claim for a clogged sink 4 days ago and I am still waiting for Select Warranty to assign a contractor. Worst customer service ever! They don't have a list of contractors for the customer service. They force you to wait for an EMAIL from them. I was told 24-48 hours. It has now been 4 days. No call. No email. No contractor. They are money grubbing liars with very few contractors probably because they don't pay them an industry standard amount. Please don't waste your money on this service because you won't get any.

    Last night I had a problem with my thermostat. I called SHW Platinum who helped diagnosed. It was a simple battery problem. Before this 2 months ago my toilet was clogged and they cleared it out and before that claim my ceiling fan stopped going and they guided me properly. Three very good experiences.

    Dec 18th range stopped working. Made a claim with Select Home Warranty. Technician came out on the 20th, diagnosed it was the electrical. He was PD and he wrote a report for a electrician and sent into Warranty company. Was told a electrician would contact me in 24 to 48 hrs didn’t happen. Called in. Rep had no idea what they were doing... but finally said a electrician would be calling. No Christmas Dinner in our home called again. Told again, electrician will call. Nope, no NEW YEARS!! Dinner (2 weeks). Sent two emails. Nothing. Called again, told something but I electrician would call tomorrow. Nope!!

    Called again!! Rep said, holidays been crazy and she will be back around January 4th (huh!). Asked to speak to supervisor that was a waste. He just tried telling me crap he didn’t even know cause I could hear the Rep correcting him. So I stopped him and had to correct him and tell him that a technician was already here and sent a report in for a electrician. He kept stumbling (Victor) who refused to give his last name or let me speak to a manager. Finally came up with, "You have to make another claim since it’s not your range. It’s electrical." KIDDING ME!!! Really! The problem has been diagnosed and I’m suppose to pay another electrician to come out to look at what? The same range and outlet. I had enough of the runaround ** and that’s what I said... and that bothered him. But, I’m the one buying food out for weeks and had no holidays meals. But he was hurt but the word **. I hung up!!

    Opening my electric garage door has been really bad for years now. I specifically ordered a warranty because I wanted to test the services of Select Home Warranty. I have been a monthly subscriber for 45 days and made my claim. The phone operator was kind and quick to make an appointment. The appointment scheduled was on time and the work done was excellently made. It cost me $95 in total when I count in the monthly fees so far and visit fee. A good value.

    Submitted a HVAC claim online and I was gave a contractor company to call me back. After 2 days I gave them a call and they told me they couldn’t come out to give Select Home Warranty a call and let them know and after 2 weeks I have yet to have someone come out to fix my furnace. The only call I get from them is asking me if I want to renew my contract. I’d suggest not to use this company. Beware if you do.

    This week was my fourth claim. Customer satisfaction for sure with SHW. The first heating plumber was very slow and I really was not happy with him. I called claims and complained and they told me to have him leave and the following day another company came. This time he was excellent and knew his work. I would have really preferred they screened a bit better so I didn't lose a day.

    We placed an order with our warranty for extra features. It was an investment for us at $600. To date we have made 2 claims. The big job was a sprinkler leak underground that was dug out and patched with a new pipe. It took 3 days to complete. The company they hired was professional and on time. Each day they had to come bringing the right parts and tools. I recommend them.

    The plumbing in my basement is old and four times have I used my warranty to clear out the mess inside the pipes. Not really a good sign for me in the long run but I am glad the work keeps getting done. The warranty cost me 399 and each visit is 45. I will think of a better solution to why this keeps happening soon.

    On 12/3 the Septic Tank ruptured. Was a disgusting mess. Select had to hire a cleaning crew and a repair company to specially come out from 50 miles away just to fix it. This would have cost me thousands and I feel grateful for signing up last fall.

    My cooktop is electric and I changed over from gas a few years back. Did not expect it to die so quickly. SHW gave me no hassle and understood I bake cookies for a living and would come the next day to do the circuitry.     3 zone heating and cooling in my house - The platinum plus add ons cost me a pretty penny at $1000. It has come in handy for me because the first and second zones stopped accurately heating my home. There were several adjustments that were made to get the unit operational and functional again.

    The shower drain was backed up and the water was leaking and cause the top to overfill. I made a call for emergency repair and Select's staff told me first to empty out as much water as possible to keep the water under control and then they would set a appointment for the following day. The next day CO Plumbing came. It turned out that the drain from lots of hair got trapped deep inside. They cleaned it and everything functioned again.

    When my fireplace stopped working 2 weeks ago I had no clue what to expect or do. I call SHW expecting just to get advice. I was very happy to know that this is covered in my platinum care package. I read over the fine print with the phone rep and found out a couple other things were covered. The actual repair was done really well. There were even cracks in the chimney and they were patched for free.

    My care package (SHW platinum) has given me a real peace of mind. My story revolves around my baseboard water heater and how it failed to get hot. A plumber was submitted for my claim. They came on time and with all the necessary parts and tools. They did the job in an hour by draining water and fixes a couple other points at the time explained to me.     SHW has not the greatest hold times when I call to make repairs. Beside that I don't have any complaints. They get the job done with knowledge knowing technicians and that is what really counts. Repairs I have done were things such as my roof, plumbing and electric box in the basement.

    My water heater leaked and made a huge puddle. They helped me on the phone all the way up to when the plumber came. He was licensed and fantastic. 3 hours to get everything under control and repaired. Select called me back and asked me for my feedback and I told them how glad I was that I signed up!

    After 10 days of waiting for Select Home Warranty to return my request for repairing my Washing machine They informed me they could not get a repair man until after the first year, but I could get it repair myself and pay for it and they would reimburse me. I had the repair call them and he said they ok it and I called the next morning as ask if everything was ok with the repair and would they pay for it. I was assure all was done correctly and they would reimburse me for the repair. I told them it was the first time doing this and I wanted to make sure I was doing it right. I was told just to send them the bill that the repair said he had ok with them and they would send me a check in the amount $503.94. Now they are saying they only want to pay me $125.00. I am so disappointed in this company. I would never recommend them.
