So far Select Warranty has been pretty decent. They answer their phones, which is more than I can say for my previous warranty company. Their price was better and a lower deductible. A few times I had to get my own repair person and they reimbursed me. A few times, they would only pay what they felt the item was worth, which was not enough to cover the repair or replacement, I would have paid more to have everything covered.

Signed up with SHW. The customer service rep was very professional and knowledgeable. I am happy to hear he spoke English very well, and I did not have to keep asking him to repeat something. I just hope when the time comes to actually have to use SHW, I won't get screwed.

Contact I have had with your employees has been very pleasant. Response time has been as promised. My experience to date with the service representatives has been very nice. I am having my claim looked at again as I sent an email to the company. Unfortunately at this point my claim has been denied. And I disagree with the denial. I believe the warranty contract needs to be more clear because I don't see how it explains the denial of the claim.

Sales representative Alan **, was very knowledgeable and helpful with adding discounts and explaining the policy and the different payment options. He gave us a great policy with a reasonable rate as well as free months. We have peace of mind about dealing with this company based on the phone call. He also gave us his contact information in case we had additional questions or problems with the policy. We are very satisfied with our purchase and look forward to a long relationship with this insurance company.

Kevin ** was extremely helpful and seemed to really care!! Excellent representative for the company!! Continued to ask questions relating to what I needed in a policy and tried to assist cost wise as much as he could!! Best experience with a home warranty company I've ever had! Previously had American Home Shield and was not pleased at all. I had MANY issues with them and I am very excited to begin this partnership with Select Home Warranty! Kevin made it so easy and painless! The reviews online so far don't do this company justice. The coverage they offer and the cost is perfect! With options of locked in rates as well, it was definitely exactly what I needed as a first time home owner! Great service, easy to sign up, and affordable. The website is easy to understand, the policy is very comprehensive. The policy covers virtually everything that can go wrong with your home and also includes free roof leak coverage. Alan ** was VERY helpful during the signup. Made it very easy and took the time to answer all of my questions and hypothetical situations. No high pressure sales tactics, etc. I would highly recommend this service.

Richard was very professional and listen very carefully to what I said. He offer discounts without the "Let talk to my manager". I had terminated conservations with different Home Warranty Companies. Their sales rep said I could possibly get me a better pricing if I would let him talk to their sales manager. I do not like that type of selling system. Richard was the fourth sales representative I talk to about home warranties. Thank goodness, I kept calling. Thank Richard for me.

I let my original home warranty supplied by the realtor expire after the first year. Main reason I let it expire was because we did not use it. I am in the service business and believe in service contracts and warranties. I started shopping for a home warranty company and just made myself exhausted looking at all the companies. Select Home Warranty had some really good reviews. I have been very pleased with the service of all the representatives thus far.

The air conditioner went on a blink on May 31. I called and reported the matter. The person who answered is Allie. She was friendly and courteous and told me I could call back 24/7 if any further problem arises. However, the next day a technician friend from the church came pressed a switch and the air conditioner started working fine, even to this day. Your appointed technician from Lonnie's Air conditioning and Heating did not call at all. I did not call them either.

Hope you never have to use it but worth it if you do. We have used it a couple of times over 3 years and it pays for itself. The deductible is low and easy to pay when the service is done, no extra charges. We also like that it is a plus when selling your home. Renewed by phone, the guy was a little pushy and tried to get me to buy multiple years and I said NO numerous times. Finally I said sell me the one year plan like I had or I will ya another company.

Sam provided a good deal and he was knowledgeable and was able answer all my questions. Also provide me with options to choose from. They have good coverage for good price, other companies were costly. I hope their service is as good, if I ever need to use it. Multiyear contracts also save some money. Ask for it see if you get any better offers. Will write another review after I use their services. $45 per service/call is also cheaper than other companies I used in the past.

I signed up yesterday for Select Home Warranty. Sign up process was very easy and representative was definitely very helpful. I reached out to their call center and they were very helpful too. Overall people were nice. They had very competitive prices and gave me a very good deal for multiyear policy. The cost was $900 for 3 years and this cost was very competitive with 2 free service calls. I don't know how the service call experience is going to be, I hope it will as good as the signup process. Let's see how it goes.

Shawn was very helpful and had full knowledge of the plan and how it could help me in managing my home expense. I was very pleased with him. The plan covers all the major areas that I have concern about. Very happy that it is fully transferable if we decide to move in the future. The price of the selected plan in comparison with others I had researched was the best value on the market that I could find. Very happy with the pricing.

Very knowledgeable representative. Sam was very diligent in returning my questions by email and assisting with the warranty initiation. The process was very prompt and did not take a lot of valuable time that I did not have to waste in the weekend. Great to have an actual live persons to speak with on a Sunday! I am hopeful that, in the event of an issue, the claim process will be as smooth as the initiation was.

I was not quite sure if I wanted to go with this company because I did not know anything about it, I had never heard of it. I looked online for a quote from multiple companies and as I was debating my decision Brad called me. He made me feel more sure about my decision. Brad explained the benefits of my plan with the company, making me think twice about the choice I was going to make. I think I'm going to really like this relationship.

Customer service over phone was absolutely amazing. Abraham helped me with all my questions and concerns with this new company and made me feel right at home. He helped me out with all the options that I could have chose. He advised me that I would be very happy with the customer service and quick response to all service issues. Assertive sales rep. called within mins of applying online. Gave me more cost effective options and I ended up with 6 yrs of coverage and 2 free months. Now let’s see how good the protection is over time. I await the policy to review it and see if the fine print offers some evidence that this policy is too good to be true. I will update the feedback after reading the policy. Hoping for peace of mind and a good experience with Select Home Warranty. Hope I never need to use them!!

Too many phone calls and emails after signing up for a quote. Was getting at least one phone call per day. Also had several emails per day telling me about the service. Representative was polite and not pushy. First time having a home protection plan. Have not had a claim, but hoping the process goes smoothly if needed.

I am satisfied with the warranty coverage. I used it in the past for a dryer repair. The contractor was unable to fix the repair so I submitted a claim. A check was mailed to me in the amount of $350 to go towards purchase of a new one. I was able to purchase a new dryer on sale for $400. I have referred the company to family and friends and shared my experience via social media. One happy customer!!!

My wife and I both spoke to people on the phone and had a very pleasant experience. Very polite and very helpful people. My wife actually was the one that signed us up over the phone and she said it was quick and easy. No hassle. We also received a very nice promotional price. The sales associate was very friendly and helpful. They explained what would be covered and added one in place of another that I did not have. I do not have a garbage disposal, so they added coverage for my water well in its place. They went on to offer roof leak coverage at no additional cost. The price I paid was one hundred dollars less than what was advertised so that was a bonus as well.

Kevin ** was our representative from whom we purchased an additional extended warranty. We called to get more info on the original policy purchased for us by the seller of the condo we are trying to buy. He explained what was covered under this policy and then presented us with two additional options for us to extend the policy at a discounted rate. He was not pushy, but was informative and helpful. We were happy with his service and made us feel more comfortable about a home warranty that we had never purchased before.

I had to make multiple calls to receive my contract via email. Each time the email was incorrect. Difficult to understand why because my name is my email. They did not have difficulty with the spelling to charge my account. But it took 3 times to call and spell my email. Hope this is not an indication of the service in the future.

This company is just like every other home warranty company out there in the public. If it's something small you're likely to get it covered. If it's a larger claim they will find a way to avoid paying you. Wish I had just stuck the $51 a month into a savings account. I would have been much better off. My central air conditioning died yesterday and I called in a claim. They sent some idiot to my house said the heat pump was gone and had to be replaced and promised to fight for me. Gave him a $60 deductible on a credit card which he signed when I refused until I got some paperwork. Cancelled the credit card and reported it to the bank as fraud since he signed it.
Company denies the claim saying they won't pay the claim because the unit was freon based. They might have wanted to say that when I signed up for their crappy insurance. Tried to talk to a supervisor at the company and all you get is the runaround. They either say we don't have any or my supervisor will tell you the same thing I am telling you. All of these warranty companies are absolutely the same no matter how different they tell you they are from the others. They shouldn't be allowed to operate in the state of Maryland. Going to file a complaint with the Maryland Attorney General's office and the Insurance commissioner but they will probably get a way with it. I should have stuck the premium into a savings account. I'm will to bet that most of the review on here are written by people they make up.

I purchased a home warranty policy in September and made a claim in October for a toilet flushing mechanism. I paid the service call fee and it was replaced after several days. I called in a new claim, same issue, different bathroom. They sent an email saying, "Your claim has been approved." Same plumber. He came out several days later, collected the service fee and left. Then I received an email stating the claim was rejected because I HAD CAPPED OUT by using my policy within the first 3 months. Nowhere in the contract does it say so. I am an attorney. I know a bad contract, and this is one of them. It says the amount will increase after 3 months, but it does NOT say you won't be covered if you have used it within the first 3 months. Save your money. Do NOT buy this policy. Pass it on.

They do NOT replace broken items with like-for-like as stated in their Terms & Conditions (wifi thermostat was replaced with builder grade) and after filing a claim for a PLUMBER, they assigned an HVAC company then, after they realized their mistake, they took another 2 days (after multiple calls and emails) to locate a local tech to come out. It's been 1 week today. When on the phone with a CSR, I requested to speak with a supervisor and was told "Will" was too busy taking other calls to speak with me. What a surprise. I've been reading all the consumer reviews for Select and don't understand why they get such glowing reviews when I pay $700/yr for a custom warranty and get such lousy service. They are even rated in the top 5 of a top ten list of best home warranty companies. I live in a 10k resident town halfway between 2 major cities in northern AZ. Why am I having so much trouble getting a plumber to clear a simple drain clog?

The service that I received was awesome. Zachary was knowledgeable, friendly, and made me feel at ease. I was made very comfortable and put at ease with all my questions. I would recommend everyone to call and just get a quote, feel free to ask questions and be able to breathe a sigh of relief with the satisfaction knowing your biggest purchase is covered. The stress of buying a home and moving can be overwhelming at times. The cost of closing and making a home your home is also costly. Imagine if there was a major repair in this new purchase, it would be very stressful. Now I can relax and know that I am covered.

Good price, haven't had a chance to use it but so far so good. I spoke on the phone and they were a little pushy about selling me the annual plan instead of the month-to-month but not bad. I saw other good reviews when researching options for a home warranty. Most of the reviews were all positive in terms of coverage, customer service and value (cost). I like that they offer plans that cover appliances as well as large systems that are in place in most homes such as the a/c, electrical, etc...

The extra months offered for a 2 year policy were very appealing. I have always been concerned with the coverage offered. Select Home's coverage meets my needs and concerns. I was very pleased with Bruce at Select. He was pleasant, patient and knowledgeable. I told him that I am currently with American Home Shield. He assured me that they have many customers from AHS and Select has great customer service. I check online at reviews and they say Select has great customer service. However when I got my contract I noticed that there were some big differences. Select contract requires proof of inspection and regular maintenance plus pictures. AHS does not. Select has set limits on the dollar amounts for some items. AHS does not. I hope to clear these up with Select next week. I may cancel.

Filed a claim with Select Home Warranty to repair Refrigerator. Policy clearly states it covers the compressor repair or replace. Refrigerator needs the compressor to be replaced. The claim was denied. Not willing to repair or replace compressor.

My experience with customer service was pleasant because they were able to guide me on where to look to retrieve the serial number and brand; the technician was also patient. Select processed my claim and contacted me by email with the options available for the nonworking appliance. That information was helpful in determination of how to handle the repair/replacement of the appliance. Select was upfront on the repair value allowance versus replacement cost.

Abraham was very thorough explaining the warranty program. He addressed and answered my questions promptly. One question I asked was about the $45 service fee and are there any additional cost when repairmen come. He explained the $45 fee will be the only fee outside the monthly payment. He also explained and added to my account the discounts. He was kind, polite, and patient. I will recommend Home Warranty to family and friends. Brad in customer service was very knowledgeable and answered all of my concerns. He explained the coverage offered and payment plans. I wasn't sure about purchasing a warranty until I talked to Brad. He assured me that if I wasn't pleased with the coverage I could cancel within 30 days and be refunded any cost.

It's very disturbing when a company twist the words of the contract not to cover something which is included as part of their Platinum Care Plan which includes water heaters. After filing my claim online I was then contacted multiple times for more information including model number, date of purchase of my water heater. Then I called to inquire what that status was and why am I still be asked for more information, at that point I was informed by the customer service Representative in a condescending tone of voice telling me that my claim is denied and that why didn't I read under Water Heater 6.2.7 on three Page of five of my service contract.
However it says that Excluded from coverage are solar or tankless heating systems, leaks and pumps. So leaks so should be covered on my water heater. My water heater is not a solar or a tank. Fewer leaks and pumps are excluded on that type of water heater not mine. It's staggering to think that these people can be so deceitful and deceptive. This is like insuring my plumbing system and then not have it covered for leaks, it's absurd! Not only that when I confronted them with these facts and truth they hung up the phone on me. I would ask that no one select this company. They are unscrupulous people and liars who twist the words of the their contract and its terms. Select Warranty is a bad selection to do business with these crooks.

Richard was very thorough and professional. He explained clearly what my policy covered and all discounts I was getting including locking in my lower deductible by enrolling and paying for my warranty in full today. I like the fact that my policy includes full replacement with new items if the covered item cannot be repaired. Also that I got roof leak coverage at no cost to me and that all my appliances and more are covered.

I was satisfied with customer service until I called back to give them additional information and found out that my claim was sitting there and I hadn't been notified that they couldn't find anyone in my area to come out to fix my machine but the customer service rep that I spoke with Christine or Cynthia was very helpful. I didn't have a problem with getting through or getting a call back once I left a message.

I was shopping for a new home warranty plan and received excellent customer service from Mark **. I was able to start the new plan when my old plan expired and was very pleased with the quoted price. I was not satisfied with the service from my old plan and did not want to renew with that company. I now feel comfortable with the new plan and customer service. I am so glad that I called today!

Select Home Warranty was very helpful when signing up for service and when submitting a claim. I placed a claim online for problems with my pool. Within a day, I had an appointment with service technician. He was very friendly and spent his time looking over things and troubleshooting every major component to my system. There was a separate issue that came up which he needed approval for. After submitting his work order he had an approval very quickly considering it was a holiday weekend.

I did research on the top 10 Warranty Companies and Select Warranty was in the top 10. I called in a claim on Monday taking into consideration that Monday was a holiday. They open up 2 claims because the first company couldn't come out until Thursday. The 2nd company after calling them 5 times never call back. I called Select and all I was getting was, "We are going to get someone out by end of day." I cancelled and was told I would be charged a $75 cancellation fee and prorated for 15 days on a contract that had a 30 day waiting period. I think the salesperson provided misleading information about the company and I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone! Save your money and use it. Call a reputable company on your own!

I have been having Select Home Warranty from past 3 years with almost no claims. I raised claim for ac unit as ac stopped working. They put maximum on my claim of 150 dollars saying that I did not hire licensed technician for maintaining the ac unit. If I hire licensed technician why do I need home warranty? I told them that they will be responsible for my family and my home if something happens in 105 degrees in Texas. I am not going to leave these animals - I wanted to leave a review to not fall this scam. All positive reviews are done by scammers.

I have been researching policies for my area and Select Home Warranty had the best list of contractors for my area and was also an excellent price. Their policy covered everything I needed and the add ons for well, septic and sprinklers were very reasonable. Their initial customer service was very helpful. I hope I never need to use the policy but I will have to see how they respond when the warrant is needed before giving them 5 stars.

He may have been a bit pushy but mostly he explained everything and reminded me that I could get a refund on any unused portion of my coverage if I decided to cancel. He also let me know that the company is in 48 states and the headquarters are in my state of New Jersey. He was able to find a 3 year policy that would work for me and my budget and would offer me the best coverage and savings. He also offered me additional coupons that he was able to use and offer me extra free months of coverage. I was hesitant about changing from my current plan, but after speaking to him I knew I had made a wise decision. There was no pressure and he understood my situation. Peace of mind when it comes to living at a distance from any big city and not knowing how to work on appliances. I have been pricing Home Warranties for 7 months and found this to be the most affordable. The agent offered two coupons to reduce the price of the warranty as well as the service fee per call, which was unexpected and appreciated. He also apprised me of an offer for 3 years of coverage and I appreciated the upsell but could not afford the payment.

Very misleading sales representative. They promise you fantastic cover and customer service. Neither of which are true. I submitted claims for AC, Ceiling Fan and Garage Door repairs and found NOTHING was covered. They couldn’t provide services in my area (NC) and direct me to contract someone myself and would get reimbursed. In every case, once the claims were send in they refused payment citing limitations in the contract. I found whatever I submitted there were reasons NOT to pay. PLEASE BEWARE. THERE ARE SEVERAL LEGITIMATE HOMEOWNERS POLICIES AVAILABLE with honest representatives who are willing to help when claims are submitted. I'm a senior citizen and should have known better. Their sales pitch WAS TO GOOD TO BE TRUE.

My contract does not have an expiration or final date. Called for clarification. The representative said, my one year is up in June but with my 2 months free, it expires in August. I am waiting for written confirmation. It would be nice if the contract I have would list the correct date. Customer service was fine. Will feel better if I had it in writing. I have had no need to call but would like the information in case of a claim.

When we renewed our home warranty this year we switch to Select Home Warranty. They were rated #1 and excellent customer service. We went with the Platinum Plan with some additional add ons. We reviewed the plans on the company website then called and spoke with Mark ** and he was extremely helpful and walked us through the complete program. He also followed up with an email to ensure our satisfaction. I will certainly recommend Select Home Warranty to any homeowner.

Received a call from Richard at Select while I was filling out information on the website... very surprising. The representative Richard told me about not only the one-year option but also about multi-year policies which could save me money and provided free months. After this explanation I signed up for a three year policy which gave me six months free. I think this call went very well. He said I would receive multiple emails with information to follow-up the phone call, I have received the emails.

I spoke to 3 other companies and found this one to be the best price for all that they cover in their policy. Their policy covers more than some others and they have one of the lowest deductibles. About a year ago I had Home Warranty Insurance with Select Home Warranty. This supposedly covered the heating/air unit in the house. We had an issue with the a/c unit where a part broke which then caused the Freon to leak. Select did not cover it because it was a "Freon leak" even though the leak was the cause of another part breaking. I called numerous times and finally spoke to a manager in New Jersey who said they do not cover Freon leaks. I said that was not the issue, that was the cause of a broken part. He said it did not matter, any Freon leak is not covered.
He then went on to say almost always when an a/c unit needs to be replaced it is because of a Freon leak. So I asked, "Ok, if my unit was struck by lightning and exploded, obviously a Freon leak would happen in that explosion, would Select cover that." He shockingly said "no" because it would be a Freon leak. I then asked "so, essentially you never cover an a/c replacement if it breaks down" and he answered "almost never".
His honesty and candidness was appreciated, but his answers were also shocking. He then went on to say the insurance is simply a "piece of mind product" - in other words it gives you peace of mind thinking you are "covered" for when items in your home break when in reality you are not. I would advise strongly against purchasing insurance with Select. Nothing that breaks will be covered and you are far better off going with another home warranty company. The policy these folks offer is extremely sleazy. Just not worth your money for a perceived "peace of mind product", as the manager there explained to me.

Fred was very pleasant and went above and beyond to get me the best possible discount. He went through different specials and promotions and even shared ways in which I could reduce the service charge. As a first time homebuyer, I think home warranties are extremely important. Of course I have yet to use it and hopefully the company lives up to the expectations. But so far, so good! I did minimal price comparisons, but it seems that Select Home Warranty had the best offer. Again, I'm not too positive on the service just yet but everything checks out so far.

We signed up for Select Home Warranty in December of 2017. Since then we have had 3 claims. One for the AC which after waiting for a call for 4 days we called back and were told we had to call and schedule the appointment. The thermostat just needed an adjustment which they sent out Brady Heating and Air. The contractors were very nice and very knowledgeable. The second was for our dryer which they gave us the number for Frederico Ramos Services who told me that driving out here was “not worth my time.” When I called to let Select Home Warranty this they told me he was the only contractor they had but I was welcome to pay someone out of pocket and they “might” reimburse the fees.
When the contractor we hired called them for verification the agent, David, asked the contractor 8 times if the repairs needed were due to normal wear and tear. The last instance was for our stove. I called and filed the claim because as usual the claim did not go through on the website. I told them the oven was not cooking evenly that it is burning on the bottom and not cooking on the top and the broiler is burning in the back before the front cooks and the front burner was not working properly. They sent out Ed’s Appliance who informed us that the switch on the burner was going out and that the stove just needed to be vented while we were cooking. The contractor told us he would order the part “only after I get the authorization for the warranty company and not before and it may take them 30 minutes to 30 days for an authorization”.
The part was ordered and when Ed’s came back out I told the contractor the stove was not working when vented and he replied “Well the elements are coming on so there’s nothing wrong with it.” He replaced the switch quickly and left without another word. I called back to Select and spoke to Janie at Select Home Warranty and told her what the contractor had said and that the stove was not working and the burner he just “fixed” was not working. After 20 minutes of trying to explain to her that this was indeed his second visit and that his diagnosis had been sent in already I finally gave up and told her fine to let me know when she found out something.
In the meantime I wrote a letter to Alex Winters at the corporate offices of Select Home Warranty and faxed it to the main office. The next day I received a phone call from someone claiming to be from corporate and said they would call the contractor and call me back. This was on May 11th and I have yet to hear anything. The only thing this company seems to want to do is take your money every month. They could care less if you get anything fixed or if the contractors they send do their jobs. Their sales department is really good about making promises they have no intention on keeping. I will tell everyone I know not to bother with this company.

This company tries to "nickel and dime" people into buying services. I was told my whole refrigerator was covered under my original policy and when the ice maker went bad on my refrigerator, they told me it wasn't covered and that I needed to buy ice maker coverage for my policy. Once I agreed to paying the additional fee for ice maker coverage, the representative stated that then they could fix the ice maker. So when I asked how much would it cost me to get the ice maker fixed, the representative then explained that since it was a pre-existing condition, the issue won't be covered under the new policy add on. Never had any other problems with warranty companies in the past.
The representatives had poor customer service skills. Attempted to argue with me even when I wanted to cancel my policy. The representative proceeded to sound even more rude. I finally told the representative that I didn't feel like arguing and that I just needed to cancel. I thought they sounded a little hungry for customers when I bought the policy at first. They rushed through the buying process and seemed more interested in obtaining my payment information rather than explaining all of the coverage for their services. I would not choose this company. I had better luck with other companies in the past. I only went with this company because they seemed to have a good price and they have me a month free. I guess I hey what I paid for... Never will I ever choose this company. I will make sure to share my experience with all of my friends and relatives.

I requested and require service on my garage door 5/22/18 which will not open by remote or manually. This problem prohibits my ability to report to work which was shared. It is two (2) days later and the problem yet remains. I have been given a claim # and provider who is to do the work. I have call SHW and the scheduled provider several times. Informed SHW the assigned provider has not respond to the claim and I am on day two (2) of loss wages. This is my third claim and this type of problem continues to exist. I would like my contract fee returned and not have to ever use their services again. Staff seem insensitive to the problem and unwilling to reassign work orders without requiring customer to have to wait 48 hours before expecting a response to request. As of this writing I have loss $301 income while attempting to have this matter resolved... Unacceptable.

Save your money, this company is running a scam. I reported that my fridge "was turning off" April 30 and that the items in the fridge were spoiling. They "expedited the claim". What this meant is that they will call me in 2-3 days and tell me they can't find a technician that will work with them and that I need to secure my own technician. After throwing everything in the fridge out and living without a fridge, I was able to get my own technician who came out on 5/21. They will not authorize any payment unless the technician call them "BEFORE" any work is done. He found that there was ice in the bottom of the freezer, suggesting the fridge was intermittently working. He tried to contact the provided number, but there was no answer so he emailed the invoice. His diagnosis was a bad control board, defrost thermostat, fan motor which he emailed to the company.
I called them the next day, since their policy is that the claim is reviewed in 24-48 hrs. They claimed they never got it, however after providing the ticket number the technician had received, they were able to locate it. I had to wait another 24-48 hr after they located it. When I called 48 hrs later, they told me they couldn't cover it because "there was a leak", which they claimed was the primary diagnosis. Despite talking with several people at select, they insisted the diagnosis was a leak and was not covered.
Any person reviewing a claim would realize that this was merely a symptom of another underlying problem. But because the technician wrote on his assessment that the fridge was leaking, that's all they needed to dismiss the claim. Interestingly, while this took many calls and almost 25 days to get the rejection for a made up diagnosis, I have received numerous emails to renew my home warranty. I called the appliance company, who reported they do not work with Select Warranty because they are so difficult and do whatever they can to get out of being responsible for any payment. Needless to say, I will not be renewing my policy.

Don't waste your time and money! I've had this warranty company over two years. Two weeks ago, I filed my first ever claim, it WAS ACCEPTED. It was assigned to a service company. A/C was checked, found to have a bad evaporative coil... Leaking. Report was filed. Again... CLAIM WAS ACCEPTED. Not 4 hours later. I was told... NOPE. NOT COVERED. AFTER REVIEW, IT WAS DETERMINED THERE IS A FREON LEAK. That was reviewed when claim was accepted!!! An evaporative coil is one of the main components of an A/C that fails. If it isn't covered, why have a warranty?!?

Fred was very helpful in explaining things to me and in getting me the best deal for my situation. He went through the options with me as far as payment as well as multi home discounts. He talked about the different plans offered such as appliance vs. whole home and roof. He was able to save me money going with the three year plan rather than one. He got back to me promptly when I called. He was very helpful and easy to understand. I didn't feel pressured into anything, but it was good to be given all of your options before I made a final decision.

First of all after I made a claim for my AC, it took several days until technician comes to my place, several times in several days I had to call them and I was told that something was wrong with the SHW system and they have not sent work order to them. They had to call to SHW office to get order number, this process took several days. Second of all after technician's diagnosis I have been told that they will make a report and 3 issues have been diagnosed and at least one of them which is not related to maintaining will be approved, but SHW didn't approve none of them.
The technician and his office tried to help me, they called SHW office to explain the issue, but what I got in the email, and they have been told too, SHW didn't approve none of them and even the one must have been approved and wasn't related to maintaining, SHW brought all excuses, this is not in policy, that is not in policy, there is no record of maintaining, all excuses... SHW not only didn't help me, but also made me to pay 75 $ too. I am very dissatisfied and for sure I will discontinue working with them and will go to another company. After almost 9 months having this policy, it was my first claim with very bad experience.

I am very happy with the customer service. They have always reached out to me when it was time to renew my contract and always offer deals when I renew early. I have had a few claims and have always had great service. They have sent their repair people when available but I have also had to use local repair people that are not in their network and the repair was still covered. I would recommend them to all my friends and family.

I searched the internet for home warranty companies and researched 3 or 4 different companies. Select Home Warranty had an easy to use website. I found that the policy I selected was fairly priced compared to other companies I found online. A representative of the company called me the next day to verify my policy purchase and answer all of my questions. The representative on the phone did a nice job of explaining my options. Overall a good experience.

Had no problems signing up. Very easy. I surfed the internet comparing other warranty companies. Select was very close to the price of other companies. The items covered were similar. Select had extra coverage that other ones did not. Also their optional coverage was cheaper. The list of optional items to purchase was more than the others. Comparing the other warranty companies to Select, Select was the best. I would purchase from Select after reviewing the other warranty comp.

When my water heater broke, I filed a claim ASAP. I called SHW as I want to get the problem resolved right away. Portia the rep took the call and was very polite and quick. I didn’t even know that polite and quick can be used in one sentence. LOL. Anyway, Portia made sure she got all the information and scheduled an appointment with a local contractor the next day. The technician Bill came the next day and got my heater up and running. Portia personally called me the next day to ask me how was the heater, I told her I couldn’t be happier. The rep who called me, Zach answered all my questions and did an excellent job of selling me on your warranty. He explained the value of purchasing a one year agreement vs the month-to-month and that sold me. I am switching warranty companies after 16 years because of their poor performance and skyrocketing prices. I am telling my family and friends about this warranty and they may be switching also. John the contactor Select sent the other day deserves a raise. He came to my house on the agreed schedule. He was extra careful when he had to step on my kitchen table to reach the spot where the leak is coming from. He explained the problem and what causes these roof leaking issues. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. After the work is done, he even cleaned the dirty part of the work area without me asking. Great Job John!

Belinda was great. Friendly and processed the warranty quickly. She already knew who I was from a previous order for a client and had all my information available. I feel good about buying a warranty like this for my clients to give them peace of mind if something goes wrong. Better coverage than most other warranties I have used. Being able to contact the warranty company 24/7 is important because problems happen even on the weekends and holidays.

Isaac called the next day after I had mentioned that our current policies were expiring later this year. He explained the package deal available and then asked if we were seniors. We are, and so he explained the contracts available to us. An even better deal! We signed up (renewed) on the spot. Isaac was very helpful and pleasant to deal with--no pressure, but thorough in explaining the details and advantages. An altogether satisfying experience. I spoke with Allen and he was very knowledgeable. I just purchased the 5 yr. Platinum Plan. Seems like a good deal. Hopefully all goes well if and when we need some type of service. I like the fact that it is not a locked in contract. And if not satisfied at anytime refund will be prorated. They said they have a large coverage base here in Hawaii. I think the service people that they use are probably the same as others, we are a small Island.

This company is a joke. Run from them don't walk. I've had 3 claims with them. First, the vendors they assign are a joke and either don't show up or it drags on for days before them come out. Of the 3 claims here is the reality of it: 1). Washing Machine - $345.00 to repair. Select Home paid $75. They claimed that my 3 year old front load Maytag was only worth $75 so that is what they paid. Assigned techs never returned calls so we wound up waiting 10 days before calling our own tech. (BTW, our own reputable tech wanted NOTHING to do with these crooked home warranty companies. We paid up front and got $75 back)
2) Heater - $1100 to repair. Select Home paid $150. They claimed that since I didn't have the "required" 3 years of warranty records, they wouldn't pay more that that. (doesn't matter that we just moved into this house, they have their fine print to weasel their way out of everything) Their assigned techs never called so we called our own tech. 3) AC fan motor. After dealing with the deals on prior 2 claims, we just hired our own guy. They denied the claim because we didn't follow their "procedure". These guys will fine print you to death. They are not reputable, not helpful and you are wasting your money. Use them at your own peril - both with repairs and your patience!

Kevin is a great salesman but really pleasant and nice. I did appreciate the way the Kevin looked for additional discounts for me. He was patient and kind. Select Home Warranty is terrible in paying for my claim from my heating furnace. I requested a claim due to my heating furnace was not working and Select sent a technician for checking and documenting a report. The technician was late for more than one hour. I supplied pictures with serial numbers, maintenance record within 3 years and invoice of $3,100 new heating furnace I replaced as I was instructed. The Select only would pay me $150 because Select demanded me to present every year's maintenance record of my furnace in the past three years. If you do not have a record of every year's maintenance record, they would not pay you for the loss of furnace but just pay you $150.
I told Select I purchased my home thru foreclosure sale for over 1 year ago. I bought the house as it was and that was the reason I bought a home warranty thru Select. I have my maintenance record since I bought my home and I supplied recent year's two maintenance record to them. Select Home Warranty made homeowners impossible to receive any claim benefit because they would ask additional documentations to make you ineligible for claims. It is a waste of your money and time to purchase a home warranty thru Select Home Warranty. This is a scam for doing business by making money out of you without paying you for any claims.

The sales rep was very helpful and knowledgeable. He was also very thorough with his sales pitch. He told me about the benefits of having home security for all appliances, etc. I was sold on these benefits from talking to him. I have heard from several people about this service and they are very pleased with it. I will definitely be recommending it to someone else. Great value for coverage compared to other providers. Reviewed other offers from competitors and yours was best offer. We’ve lived in our home over twenty years and this will provide us with the coverage we need in case something should break down. We recently had our water heater replaced and having your coverage would have really helped with the costs and labor. Our appliances are not old but we thought it over and decided the coverage is well worth the monthly cost to have ease of mind.

Great customer service and information. Will have to see how the process works once we use the service to truly rate the company. Stated coverage is worth the quoted price in the event that service meets the need. Ability to transfer service to new home or to buyer of home if sold is a huge plus. Refund of unused amount if opt out is also a huge selling point. Upfront payment is a con but offset by the locked in rate for 5 years.

The representatives at Select Home are friendly and helpful. They explained everything well... and asked if I had any more questions before I signed up. I switched from another home warranty to Select. My experience with the other home warranty company was not as good. The coverage and rates are also much better with Select. The representative worked out the payment schedule that worked for me. They act as though they want to earn your business. It was a very smooth process.

I contacted the warranty company that my dryer had stop working. Within a couple days I had a phone call from a company to make an appointment to come look at it. Needless to say the company did not show up. After a half hour they finally called and said they would arrive in 30-35 minutes. After hour and half and they still did not show up I emailed the warranty company about the no show. They was super fast to email me back and handle the situation. I had Select Home Warranty on 6 upscale rentals in Nashville and Houston. In a little under a year they have not completed ONE single repair on anything EVER. That means no fixed fridge for 3 months, that means no fixed garbage disposal ever and for sure never any repairs to A/C. Nothing is ever covered. And the people they use never show up and in the rare case they do they are not competent to fix anything. This is reflected by 4 visits to fix a fridge that's still not working. My contract clearly says I have Freon coverage option. They said that means damage caused by Freon. REALLY somebody in their foreign answering center ACTUALLY SAID THAT.
I cancelled all of my policies because all they accomplished is delay any repairs by a week or more while they tried to find a tech, took 48hrs to find another tech then said my repairs were NEVER covered. The closest they came was to offer me a check for $75 towards a replacement garbage disposal with the removal and installation NOT COVERED. Select Home Warranty is a COMPLETE SCAM and they will discount their price, add extra coverage months whatever it takes to get your money. They can do that because they know they won't be paying for any claims so whatever $$$ they collect is pure profit. TOTAL RIP-OFF. By FAR the WORST home warranty company I have ever dealt with.

This was my first time to file a claim with Select Home Warranty. It became clear to me why they are ranked #1 in the field of Home Warranty companies. The customer service representative was very thorough and empathetic regarding my situation. She clearly detailed what to expect next. I reported my AC unit wasn’t properly working. I only wish I had been given a timeframe as to when the AC company would be coming to my home. I’ve been a client of other Home Warranty companies which gave me a list of various companies that were eligible under their warranty plan. I wish I could’ve been given the opportunity of selecting the company. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that the AC repair or replacement company will be as professional as the representative from Select Home Warranty.

I have just signed up for the 5 year warranty coverage for my house. The customer service representative was very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. He waited patiently while I checked my numbers, and talked to me about all the different promotions they are offering at select Warranty. I was very pleased with the experience. I also gave the review on Google to get the additional month. What a treat! I really hope that I will get the services and repairs that I might need in the future swiftly and smoothly from Select Warranty, and have my hopes met so I can renew for 5 years more! My home is very well taken care of but it is very important to have additional coverage for emergencies. The 5 year package deal is a steal. So I really recommend it. It give you peace of mind and locks the rate for the next 5 years, besides in essence you are getting one year for free!

I was helped by Sol. He has been very helpful in guiding me to decide on the plan. The plan seems to allow me a low deductible of $45/month since I am planning on signing for a yearly plan. I was also promised a total of 15 months (which includes 2 months extra from the current promotion, and then additional month for providing feedback). And all this for $399 seems to be good deal. Let me just say Select Home Warranty SUCKS! I am always fair when reviewing a company. Do not believe anything they claim to include on their website! I took a great deal of time trying to select a reputable home warranty company and even with my research and due diligence I failed miserably. They cover NOTHING except for clearing a drain. My microwave went out. I called to put in a claim only for them to tell me that because my microwave was old they would only give me $50 towards it. So, we bit the bullet on that one and just bought a new one and paid for it to get installed. I sent in my receipt to get reimbursed for the $50 and NEVER received it.
After looking through the contract again I discovered that submitting a receipt won’t get you a refund. They require other steps. Basically instead of making it simple they make you go through so much red tape you will NEVER get the refund. Oh and they don’t pay for labor of ANYTHING. What sense does that make? If you need repairs someone has got do the labor. I had an electrical problem where the outlets in my bathrooms were not functioning. I put in a claim for that. They sent out an electrician and the electrician diagnosed the problem but Select Home Warranty said I would have to get a second opinion. Mind you I still had to pay the service call fee. No problem. The contract states for every service call I had to pay a $45 fee. I was told I would have to find a local electrician on MY OWN and have them to call Select Home Warranty to give a diagnosis before performing any work.
Even though this was the same issue that I called about in the first place and it wasn’t resolved I still was going to have to pay another $45 fee. I don’t know why they tell you that you have to get a diagnosis to receive an authorization for the work needed to be done. They NEVER authorize ANYTHING except for a clogged drain. Needless to say I found my own electrician and didn’t even worry about going through Select Home Warranty, which is what I would have to do if I didn’t have a home warranty. I also had to put in a claim because my air conditioner was leaking. They didn’t even have the business mind to send me an email or call to tell me what they ALWAYS say, “we don’t cover that.” I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone. I promise you if you go with them you will have spent unnecessary money and be highly pissed realizing you should have gone with another company. Please heed my warning!

I was pleased with the Select Home Warranty. I only had to use it one time but was happy with the serviceman that came out regarding an outlet that would not work. I do have older appliances so I need a good service. When buying my condo in 2016 I felt the Select was the best and most affordable home warranty service that I could find. I have felt very comfortable regarding taking care of my older furnace, hot water heater and air conditioner.

Found Select when did a search of top 10 home warranty companies. Had just signed up the day before with another company but it was so much more expensive and the ratings were not good. So I went on the site for Select and received a call within minutes. Sign up was quick and easy and received special discounts - William was very helpful. Gave details of the program and how to save money by paying annually vs monthly but I was not able to take advantage of that at this time. Highly recommend Select Home Warranty.

I purchased Oct 2017, 5 years warranty. Here it's May 2018, I have a plumbing issue. I called on Monday and told I would be notified through email when contractor is awarded job. Well one was awarded but I never received an email. I called to inquire to only get the wrong number 3 times. The 4 time I called the contractor who said, "I told them no for any job in 2 weeks." Called back to Select Home who is clueless this man is not doing the job. Now it's Friday I am still waiting for Select Home to resolve my issue!

Left previous company, had called Select a couple months ago. Paid 1 months premium. Ask for hard copy of the contract with my contract number and due date and what is covered... As of yet haven't received that. After speaking to a couple of people all was taken care of and we are on the right track once again. I have a soft copy online and will receive hard copy in the mail and now know when my payment is due so all is well and customer service did great once we all got on the same page. Thank you.

I called two different companies and wasn't sure which I preferred, but when I was ready to sign up, the other company rep was rude and short with me. Select's rep was very helpful. I haven't had a claim yet but the price and details were great. I chose the two equal payment options instead of the monthly and got the advertised specials. The first experience with Select there were issues with whether my policy was effective but that was resolved once I got to the right person. The only contractor that Select had in my area, could not come out for 3 weeks so the agent recommended I find a contractor that could come earlier. The agent was very nice and helpful, sending all the paperwork necessary. I haven't gone through the process of getting the work approved and refunded yet and I'm hoping it goes smoothly. I wasn't to use Select because of the negative reviews I had gotten from others but the salesperson convinced that was not the case and so far I agree. I will follow up once the job is completed.

Select Home Warranty have good coverage, but I think Lighting Fixtures and Plumbing Fixtures should be included in Platinum Care Plan. Also Septic System could be included in that top tier Plan at no extra cost. Customer service representative need to spend more time on the phone explaining the detail about their different plans and how the coverage differences work, and also the extent and detail of the item by item that is covered.

I had a broken garage door opener. The motor went bad due to the age of the appliance. The diagnosis was made and Select Home Warranty was willing to partially pay for a new one even though the old one was over 20 years old! I used a company that I trust for the repair and just had to submit my invoice to SHW. It was easy. The repair was made fast and easy. They were able to answer all questions I had too.

I called SHW last month to have someone check my HVAC. I was a bit in a hurry as I need someone fix the AC problems if not within the day, the next day. When I called I told the representative that I will be on a business trip in two days time and will be out for a couple of weeks and I just can't leave my family at home without a working AC. During the call, I was advised that it may take 48 hours to get someone in my house, but then the next morning, my wife received a call from Benj, a contractor asking if he can now visit and check the AC issue. I couldn't contain the happiness I have felt that day knowing that there is a possibility that the problem will be fixed before I leave the state. After half a day, Benj was able to complete the claim, got my HVAC up and running and I would like Select to know how satisfied my wife and I for the great service.

When my heater went out, I immediately submitted a claim online. An hour passed and a representative called me verifying the claim that I just filed. The next day, I got Jimmy knocking on my doorstep, has all his things in his truck, ready to fix the heating system. Roof maintenance and repair is very costly so I decided to upgrade my platinum plan to an extended one to make sure that in the event that my roof decided to give up, I have something that I can use to make sure it will be repaired without paying so much. I am in great awe as when I started seeing leaks in my bedroom roof and the one in the kitchen, SHW is more than willing to help me fix them. The extended plan covered it all. Pretty good experience. Offered me additional services and when I declined they didn’t try annoying pressure tactics. Not sure of the value, I just got the warranty, it seems like a good deal compared to other providers. I am hopeful that I don’t need to use the service but the agent guaranteed same day service for any services requested, which I will be grateful for if I downed it. The agent was likely going off of a script as he told me since I’m in Connecticut I will receive great service, then realized I was in Tennessee.

Pipe in ceiling storage room started leaking suddenly. Found after a third of the floor wet. We put a bucket under the leak. Called Select at 4:30 pm on 5/15/2018, the job was accepted within a couple of hours and I had a company to contact. I called the following morning to arrange an appointment with the company. I had to call the plumbing company twice and someone came out around 1:30 pm on 5/16/2018. The work was completed to my husband's satisfaction.

Richard went through great lengths to explain that he has been with the company for nine (9) years and is not going anywhere. Very refreshing to talk to someone who understood what I needed and when. It’s a relief knowing that now my appliance are covered and one less stress on my shoulders. He also gave me his direct extension so that I could contact a 'live' person with any questions or concerns. By giving me direct contact I was able to reach him to confirm that I was under contract and that payment had been received.

Received great customer service and exceptional value from the customer service rep, Fred. He gave me different options to choose from and I found one that actually suited me. I had a Service agreement with another company that was about to expire and he offered a deal that was much lower in price and service fee. The reviews on site were much, much better than the reviews that the home warranty I use now. Looking forward to a long relationship with Select Home Warranty.

Sign up and follow up phone call was quick and easy. Value seems great, and coverage is pretty extensive. Robert was easy to talk with and the 5 year locked in rate seems to be a no-brainer. No hard sell pressure and an easy setup to a contract. I am switching policies from a previous warranty company and saved money without sacrificing coverage - so I am pleased. Hopefully we won't need to use this policy but it is a good safety net in case anything should happen in the next couple of years.

So far so good. I have only had them for a few weeks. The customer service representative was very helpful. I was in need of new Home warranty since the last one kept raising my deductible and the technicians they sent were horrible. However I did notice they have a cap on claims. My hope is this is per incident and not accumulative because if it's accumulative this will be a waste of money! Will update my review if things change.

I was very pleased with what was offered and gave me options if I wanted more for my money. I didn’t feel rushed or forced into doing something I didn’t want to. Belinda was very courteous and knowledgeable. I recommend this warranty program to anyone who are serious about taking care of their home. I don’t want anything to happen to my home but I will definitely feel better knowing I am covered in case of any emergencies that may happen. I’m glad I received the referral from a friend and I will pass the same information on to my friends and family.

I bought the Platinum Home Warranty coverage (appliance and systems coverage). The salesperson explained the coverage and followed through with discounts and special offers by confirming via email. Several Days later, he was available to answer more questions concerning the policy. Although I am pleased with the potential coverage, I have not filed a claim. Therefore, I cannot accurately evaluate whether this home warranty business actually performs what it promises. Therefore, I cannot honestly refer a friend.

Very pleased with the knowledge of the product and the professionalism of the representative I talked with. Very friendly and courteous. Everything completed very efficiently and quickly. Company offers many covered items in the home at very affordable price. Also like the low service call rate of $45. Company appears to be committed to pleasing and retaining existing customers by offering renewals at the previous year's cost and at the previous year's service call rate. I would grade my experience with Select Home Warranty agents as very good. They were knowledge, prompt and professional. I would definitely recommend Select Home Warranty to my friends and family. The policy appears to be very competitive and a good value as compared to two other competitive quotations I solicited. The added discounts for AARP members, specials and extended contract was very helpful in minimizing my overall costs now that I am retired. This is critical for fixed income retirees...

Bruce helped me with obtaining an initial contract with Select Home Warranty effective June 11, 2018. He was very helpful and explained every detail of this contract before I decided to join. I did not need the services now but felt that if and when any of my items needed to be repaired for replaced if not able to be repaired, that I would have 30 days to decide if I would continue with this contract.

So far my experience for Home Warranty has been frustrating. I'm hoping as time goes by the relationship gets better. It's the policy for the air conditioner that is frustrating. It's not fair as a new homeowner that I have to have documentation of maintenance at least for 2x a year. I've had to call several times to get the same questions answered. I work as a senior CSR Phone rep. So on my Job I know empathy statements and I KNOW reading from a script.
Please educate your employees so anyone can give the life cycle of a claim from, "I need help" to, "Thanks for getting my appliance working again." All this to say is, "I'm frustrated yes." The two was ok. But less than stellar. Also please hire individuals who are from the UNITED STATES or at least where English is a first language. And let them THINK AND SPEAK RATHER than Reading from a script. Ok that is all. I am not dissatisfied with the experience. I am sincerely and significantly disappointed.

I asked for more information concerning how the buy out reimbursements are calculated. I asked that a manager call me back but that never happened. I submitted this request when I first talked with customer service and I also asked for this return phone call after I got a call back from an account specialist. When I first Contracted with this company about more than a year and a half, I was not given a complete contract inspite of my asking repeatedly. My AC broke down, They refused to fix it. Now my Garbage disposal is broken, they refused to fix / replace it. Their excuse is the small print which was never given to me at the time of taking my money. There is no phone number to their Corporate Office in NJ anywhere so you can't talk to anyone responsible (in case there is one, I doubt it though). I need this resolved immediately since I can not use my Kitchen Sink. If they can't do anything, it is time for them to refund my money and cancel my contract. I have dealt with different Home Warranty Companies and never had such a bad experience. This must not rank above one star.

My air conditioner stopped Saturday. Tech was here Sunday but not allowed to fix it. It is Monday now, they just sent an email saying they would make a decision in 24 hours. Make a decision? It is clearly covered in my policy. So it's been three days with no answer. I live in Texas. It's 95 outside and 90 inside. I feel they are looking for a way to not cover it but haven't found one.

Select Home Warranty Complaint. A home warranty was acquired for my rental property last summer through Select Home Warranty. The warranty covers the following home system appliances as set forth in the policyholder agreement: Refrigerator, plumbing system, plumbing stoppage, microwave oven (built in), heating system, water heater, stove/oven, clothes, washer, clothes dryer, a/c cooling, garbage disposal, garage door opener, electrical system, ductwork, dishwasher, cooktop, ceiling fan.
The first time I had the need to use the warranty was two weeks ago and I submitted a claim. After a few days I was able to make an appointment with Select Home Warranty’s designated contractor, Just Better Air Conditioning & Heating. The technician showed up, inspected the unit and diagnosed it as “NOT COOLING, BLOWING HOT AIR. FOUND MULTIPLE REFRIGERANT LEAKS @ EVAP COIL. SYSTEM FLAT ON R410A.” I tried to contact them the next day and my husband and I talked to them on four or more different occasions to obtain information on the diagnosis and a course of action to repair the AC unit. Because such company wouldn’t give us a clear answer or a course of action, I hired an independent AC company to inspect the AC unit and give me a quote. The technician from the company that I hired, Benefit Air Conditioning, said the evaporating coil had a leak and the compressor read weak winding.
In the meantime, I received an email from Select Home Warranty advising that my claim was denied due to a Freon Leak and cited a section of the agreement, which is different than the agreement I have with them, to support the denial. After such denial I called Select Warranty Company many times, sent several emails, submitted a new claim, asked to talk to their dispute department to appeal the claim denial but nobody took the call or returned the call. Even one of the representatives that answered one of the calls told me that the claim would never be approved no matter what we did.
On one of the occasions my husband called he requested to appeal the decision because the coil should be covered by the policy since the Freon was leaking as a result of the coil. He was also advised it won’t matter because it will be denied for the Freon leak. My husband wanted to appeal it in any case. He was placed on hold and advised he would be transferred. After several minutes he was advised the manager “has a higher than normal call volume” and unable to take the call. He was told that the manager would call him back within 24 hours. He is still waiting for the call almost a week later.
Under the air condition clause of my Policy Holder Agreement, condensers and compressors are covered. An evap coil is the equivalent of a condenser and the compressor is specifically mentioned in the clause. A freon leak is the result of the evap coil issue not the cause of it. Unfortunately, Select Home Warranty didn’t give me the opportunity to discuss, challenge or modify their wrongly decision and I now have to resort to legal avenues to enforce the Policy Holder Agreement.

Kevin was so helpful and very professional. He advised about all of the Warranty Plan available. He also offered incentives if I was interested in a Multi year contract which I took for 5 years. By taking the 5 year plan I was able to save a lot of money. I would recommend Select Home Warranty to anyone. I used to be with American Home shield but found Select had better pricing and a better service charge.

1st claim with the company. I had a clothes washer problem. I was given a repair company that did not accept their company after waiting for a call from them for over 24 hours. I had to call the repair company because there was no follow up. I then had to wait an additional 48 hours for Select Home Warranty to try and find another service company. I ended up finding my own repair company 2 days later. I received the estimate to repair the washer for over $500 and then had to wait an additional 2 days before being told they would cover $150 after I either bought a new washer or paid the $500 to have my washer fixed.
I have spent over $1000 with Select Home Warranty, have never filed a claim, had to wait over a week without a washer, had to find my own service company, pay for the diagnosis that was twice as high as my deductible (I may get some of that money back but am not holding my breath) and then am told that I will need to wait even longer to even receive the pitiful $150 repayment for my troubles. Remind me again of why I have a home warranty. Worse experience I have ever had with a home warranty company and will not recommend this company to anyone in my industry (real estate and banking) and will do everything in part to steer my customers as far away from Select Home Warranty as possible.

I am sure that I'm in Good hands with Select Warranty. I was having a problem finding a great price with everything that I needed for my home. I just signed up for the service today so I'm not rating the service, only the phone call interaction. Kevin was very nice and very knowledgeable and he offered me some great deals, but I felt very rushed, had to stop him at least four times while he tried to end the call and I told him I had more questions... after he had my money... and he neglected to tell me there's a $60 service fee anytime they need to come out to the home. I also noticed that two items that I asked for coverage for were not on the policy. I am now feeling a bit worried now that I have had time to investigate their reviews. I will post more once I actually use their service.

Richard patiently answered all my questions, and I had many. He helped guide me to a cost saving five year plan. He explained the coverage very effectively. I enjoyed talking to him; he has a very good sense of humor. It was because of Richard that I bought the coverage from Select rather than a different company. Richard is an excellent salesman, and he made me feel good about spending so much money. He is well versed about the insurance coverage.

Employs dirty business tactics. I called them to make a claim. I called and told them I had a shower stoppage and bathtub stoppage in 2 different bathrooms. Select Home Warranty put them on one claim number instead of giving me 2 claim numbers even though I was perfectly clear that there were 2 stoppages in 2 different bathrooms. They did this so that now when I am trying to get them to pay what they said they approved there are loopholes so they can pay less.
Then they were unable to find a technician in their network to come do the work so they said I could find my own technician. They gave me a very specific process to follow: The technician had to come out and diagnose the problem. The technician and I had to call Select Home Warranty and talk to the authorization department who was supposed to give approval before any work was done. Once approval was given, and work completed then I was to email a copy of the invoice. All of these instructions were followed precisely. Risa in the authorization department was on speaker phone with me, my husband and the technician. She asked what the diagnosis was, how much the technician was going to charge (he told her $650), and then she said "You may complete the work" to the technician. No authorization number was ever given to me, my husband, or the technician. I sent in the invoice on the same day as I was directed to.
Now they are telling me the work was only authorized for $125, which they say is their standard for clearing one drain. So when I ask them why am I not getting at least $250 since I had 2 drains, they tell me it is because there was only one claim number issued. So to sum-up, they knowingly gave me one claim # when they were told there were 2 issues in 2 different bathrooms, Risa from the authorization department gave permission for the technician to complete the work without giving us an authorization number (which I didn't know was supposed to be issued because it was not mentioned in the specific instructions they gave me to follow) nor did she state at any time that only $125 was going to be covered, and now when I try to ask for at least $250 because there were 2 stoppages I am told that because only one claim number was issued that only $125 will be covered.

So far, my experience with Select Home Warranty has been real good. There's a guy named Kevin ** and he is good to work with. I am happy with my results so far. Just started so not sure what will happen in the future, but all is well so far. I haven't had anything to break down yet but I'm sure they will come out if something breaks down. My friend, Valeri ** is the one with warranty and her air conditioner has some problems but they told me it would be 30 days before anything could be covered but that is all fair and I understand that philosophy.
