    Very easy to sign up for this warranty. Very helpful and courteous on the phone and willing to go over every question I had. We decided to go with the platinum coverage this way almost everything in the house is covered. They even cover roof leaks. Very reasonable $45 service call fee. They even offer additional items to covered in the home for a reasonable fee. With this home warranty we now have peace of mind.

    A/C was not cooling. It was easy to contact you guys, the technician came over within 48 hours and got the issue fixed, no hassle at all! I would recommend to friends and family for sure.     The person was very nice on phone. Prices less than my previous one. He explained about lower service call fees. Also that response time was quicker. I had never heard of this company before so he had to convince me. I have not needed to use my membership yet. Will be transferring to the new owners whenever the house sells.     The tech Martin arrived at the time he said he would. After checking the machine (broken LG washer), he informed me that the control panel needs to be replaced and he's order it. A few days later I received an email from the vendor that they would not authorize the order until the $45 service fee was paid. I called Select and confirmed with them that my renewal allowed for the 1st call at no charge. A day later I received an email from Select that the cost was more than the value of the machine and I'd be allowed $100 for repair or replacement. The vendor informed me that the part was no longer available. I had no choice but to purchase a new washer.

    Abraham explained some of the terms quite well. However, after reading the contract I believe the extent of the coverage was exaggerated. I was not aware of pro-rated coverage and policy limitations. I was told if a system failed it would be replaced with a similar system at full cost not pro-rated. Also, there are many limitations in the contract which could have been explained. Contract is good but not comprehensive. Probably provides some coverage for the expense but not enough.

    We bought this house almost a year ago. It is not a new house and came with a home warranty. We viewed this as a good thing as well as something necessary. The year is almost over so I started looking for a new home warranty and reviewed many providers including our current. In the end I found that Select seemed to provide the best and most inclusive package at the greatest value. As part of the great price I was given I was also given extra months as part of the package extending the value.     The repairman they sent showed up, collected his $60 and said parts would be in the next week. He didn’t bother to call, his mailbox was full. I called numerous days. Finally called SHW. They told me he would call me back. After numbers phone calls between Select Home and the contractor, the contractor told me he hadn’t ordered the parts yet and needed the make and model number. Yo, they were supposed to be in a week ago. This happened numerous times. Wait times were exceedingly long when calling, I could hardly understand the representative, the supervisor was never available. Finally decided to go the reimbursement route and told they wouldn’t pay it all even though they had approved the other one for more. Will I ever buy their warranty again, No! They don't bother to check reviews of who they send out. I feel like I was conned by the repairman they sent out who never finished the job and Select Home Warranty.

    Our sprinkler system was leaking badly, requested service via phone and email to no avail. I can't get anyone to follow through. I had to fix it myself after one week of waiting. Our AC went out last week and I got no response to that service request with 100+ degree weather.     The first of June, Select Home Warranty sent a plumber to our home for a stoppage issue. The plumber accidentally put a hole in the pipe while snaking the drain. I was told by the plumber, he would contact his company who would contact Select and a repair would be made. I was never notified by Select so after a week I began to contact them through email, phone calls and filing a claim. After speaking to various people for over a month, I was told over the phone that the claim was approved and to contact the plumber.

    Today I was told by a manager, the claim was being denied because the broken pipe is not located in the living area of the home. The broken pipe is located under the bathroom floor and best accessed by the crawl space of the home. I have paid for Plumbing System coverage. The nature of plumbing places it in the walls and under floors which according to the manager is not the living space of the home and therefore not covered. I have asked for the claim to be reviewed but have heard nothing.

    Customer service were outstanding in resolving issue on compensation of dryer that could not be repaired. First offer was 100 dollars, then explained that the deductible I had to pay would cut into the 100 leaving 55 dollars to purchase a used dryer which is not enough to get a decent replacement. The customer service representative transferred me to retention section which offered me a fair compensation for as old as the dryer was. Great job on handling this claim.

    I approached this company for a quote via email. Instead I got a call before I ever left their website. I overlooked that and the pushy sales tactics. I made an error by going ahead and purchasing the warranty (thinking the title company could just reimburse me instead of the reverse). I realize that what I did was my fault but a BIG SELLING POINT for this warranty at all was the choice to "OPT OUT" AND GET A FULL REFUND WITHIN THE 1st 30 DAYS...

    Realizing my error and after speaking with everyone involved I decided that the only thing I could do was to CANCEL the warranty for the moment, but let the title co. know that I would be using Select Home Warranty for my warranty needs and they would still get the sale. So nobody loses, or so I thought, I even went as far as to tell the title company who I was dealing with (though the salesman told me that he doesn't make commission on his sales only gets his perks of whatever sort by receiving GOOD REVIEWS. Whatever, who am I to say this is BS. I don't know honestly so I can't) so I thought this would work out well for the "salesman" AND the company.

    Well I tried to get my refund so I could get the realtor and the title company off my back! I immediately got the hard sell. "Dude I HAVE TO do it like this but I'm going to use you guys and I'll use you as the salesperson so don't sweat it!" Still got the hard sell. Wouldn't let me get what I needed done. Ok I gave it a minute and let myself cool off before I called back and tried again.

    Second time I called I just went straight to it and told him, "Without a doubt there is no other way I've gotta cancel and if you want to get a good review at ALL just cancel it." So he sent me through to the girl that could do that. It was like night and day. This girl was sweet and efficient and took care of what I thought was handling the cancellation and refund. Well two hours later I got a call from a guy who was, I assume, up a level from my first salesman "Bruce" but this new guy was just as big on the hard sell as Bruce was. Wanted me to give everyone opposed to the way I had done it his phone number so that he could convince them that I COULD in fact do it that way. I told him I'd pass his number out and in fact I did, but I feel pretty certain that nobody called him.

    So now it's been a week and I'm waiting to hear about my refund. As soon as I get it I'm going to let Bruce have his review but until then I'm holding out because if I get stuck paying for two home warranties on one house I'm gonna be very mad and will have to take other actions. Bad reviews are just the tip of the iceberg!!

    My only advice on looking into their warranties is this: The person that you have calling about the product needs to be the thickest skinned, NO saying, sales-people forcefield equipped member of the family because they go straight into hard sell the minute they answer a call! I wasn't going to be a hard sell either way, I needed a warranty and I had already chose their company. The hard sell that Bruce gave me almost sold me on NOT getting a warranty through them. So just be warned! I've not used their warranty so I can't comment on that, but the sales tactics are much harder than necessary and that is enough to send me elsewhere. Be warned... As of... Now! Service calls and all customer service issues are handled by call centers in the Philippines and very frustrating to deal with. Whatever happened to KEEPING JOBS IN THE USA??? Technicians assigned by SHW are reluctant to accept the jobs. Two or three of the assigned companies that I encountered have discontinued to work with SHW because of their unethical business practices. Authorities really need to investigate SHW for their mode of operation.

    Upon arrival the assigned repairman "Tim", he did not say I'm so and so with East Texas Plumbing, Inc Whitehouse, TX. He began his entrance into our home, with very loud banging on the door. He could have used the doorbell. He was very unprofessional and spoke very disrespectful to my husband (who is a recovering cancer patient), after slamming his tools around. He then asked where the driveway was located and was told that it was not available due to cars being parked there. He said he would have to make several trips back and forth to his van and found the entrance to be to far away from his van. (So were we an inconvenience for him.) He did repair the leak but he refused to relight the hot water heater. He proceed to tell us that to light the hot water heat it would have to be on his work order. We paid him our copayment but NEVER WANT HIM IN OUR HOME AGAIN.

    We don't believe any of your Home Warranty Clients would want this person in their home either. He tried to be very intimidating, he was apparently upset and angry before he ever arrived. I was not at the home when he arrived but my husband was, once I learned of the disrespect and not lighting the water heater I made a call to Tim and he proceed to raise his voice to me and I hung up on him. Tim then called me back to tell me to never hang up on him and called me a **. I am sure you would like to keep our business as well as others therefore my suggestion is to take this guy off of your call list. I would also like to say that I am reporting his company to the Better Business Bureau. I am also attaching several review from Facebook page for his business.     On May 26th I attempted to use the warranty that came with the purchase of my house to resolve an issue with a malfunctioning water heater. First they sent me an unresponsive, incompetent plumber who misdiagnosed the problem, then they could not understand how I could be the owner of the policy (which came with the purchase of my house), then they misplaced my receipts, then they refused to send me an itemized breakdown of the proposed reimbursement... This matter has dragged on for almost two months now and I am getting my attorney involved for resolution. Now we live in Southern West Virginia and they gave us the name of a contractor in Delaware... We called them back and they never would give us a local contractor. We cancelled the service in February and was promised our money back... It is now JULY and NO check. I keep asking them where it is.     Carefully read their contract before you purchase. They have many more exclusions than some of their competitors. If you're looking for cheapest price period, then they may be your company, but be aware that the covered components are limited. Once I saw their list of exclusion, I decided to cancel (the same day I purchased). Now, 3 days later, I'm still having problems getting my money back. I've made 4 calls now, each time the person telling me that my refund is being processed. However, I've never gotten a cancellation email, and no credit back on my credit card.     I bought Select Home Warranty. My AC was not working. After waited for about 2 weeks, the company sent a company to diagnose it, and reported that it needs to change compressor. But Select Home Warranty did not authorize the company to conduct the work and told me that I need to provide the maintain record. Without the maintain record, the company did not cover it. Later it only covered $200 while the total cost was more than $1600. The policy did not state that it needs maintain record. I used another insurance company before, and did not have this kind of issue. In summary, do not use Select Home Warranty anymore.

    My negative review has NOTHING to do with the technician that came to our house. He (Chris) was punctual, friendly, and knowledgable. My poor rating is based on my experience with Select Home Warranty so far. We have owned 3 homes and have worked with 3 different home warranty companies, this company being our 4th.

    We only filed 2 claims with our other warranties and each of those was with a different company. The claim process was easy and fast and we only ever had to pay the service fee. With this company, it took 2 weeks to get the company to our home AND we had to pay more than our service fee. I've never had to do that with the other companies. Plus, the technician was placed on hold for 15min before he was even told he could do the repair. The repair that I still paid for and now have to send the invoice to you guys. This process was slow, drawn out, complicated, and it appears that it's going to be more spendy for us having to pay full invoices and then waiting for you guys to reimburse us. Unless something changes, I will not be recommending your company to friends and will look for other warranty companies to switch to once this contract is over.

    I have been assigned 4 contractors, up to this point, and all have told me that, either Select did not pay them when they worked with them, or that they had notified Select that they will not travel to my area without travel reimbursement, but yet I was still assigned them. One contractor advised me to go with a different company when my next renewal date comes up. This was very disconcerting. It's been 21/2 weeks and my toilet is still not repaired and I have a child with a chronic gastro disorder that requires him to be in the bathroom for, what can be, hours at a time, which leaves the other 3 members of the household unable to use the facilities.

    I have notified Select of the situation, but their suggestion is to get my own contractor. Due to my financial status and myself being a single mom, raising 3 children on my own, I don't have the funds to pay a contractor up-front and then be reimbursed 30 days or more later. I feel that the lack of empathy from the company and the unwillingness to go the extra mile, on a few occasions including this one, will lead me to pursue coverage elsewhere.

    Do not... I repeat do not sign up with this company as they are fraudulent. I called in the middle of May as I was having trouble with my AC. They told me to submit a claim and someone would call to schedule an appointment... Two days later I heard nothing so I called them back and they said they were very busy and that I could call a company and they would take care of it. So I did and the AC man recommended a new unit. The Freon was gone and so was the compressor and at this point I have been without air for more than a week now so what was recommended was a new unit, the old unit was 18 years old, I also paid extra to have Freon covered in my policy.

    I call Select and they tell me go ahead with repairs and send everything thing to them, after fighting with them for more than a month for reimbursement I finally just canceled my policy because it was evident to me that they were just stringing me along. I am angry because I allowed myself to be taken advantage of by this company. It appears they don’t even have air conditioners repair people in this area and wanted me to wait when it 90 degrees outside and humidity is 100%...

    BUYER BEWARE!!! Select Home Warranty is a SCAM! No water for four days in South Texas Heat! Purchased annual warranty in 2016. In summer of 2017 had well pump fail. After four days, SHW failed to find a technician to even come out and diagnose. They offered to let me find one myself. I immediately called local well service company. They were out within 2 hours and diagnosed failed pump. Called SHW with tech standing at my side, they asked him several questions, then told me to have it fixed. They had it removed and replaced by the next morning. I paid them as directed by SHW and awaited reimbursement. After no response, I contacted SHW and was asked for pictures of the old pump… It was gone. They threatened not to reimburse me without pictures. After several complaints I was reimbursed for only a third of the cost after being forced to sign a document that I wouldn’t sue them.

    No A/C for more than four days in South Texas heat! Now it’s summer of 2018 and unfortunately my air conditioner failed. I live in arid and hot South Texas. Called company that performed tune up at the beginning of summer (an approved SHW company). They condemned system and immediately stated paperwork with SHW to replace it. SHW never returns calls as promised, always sends “personal” emails asking for more info, often the same info or pictures tech or we have already sent.

    It is now Saturday evening and after several calls today was informed that the approval department does not work on the weekends and that I should expect to only be reimbursed $150 because I can't prove I bought filters and rinsed off the unit for the last three years. Of course, they promised to call me Monday morning first thing when authorization dept returns… Only four days in near 100 degree weather without A/C by then… Not expecting much from that call. Bottom line – 2 HOT South Texas summers and two full up FAILS by Select Home Warranty! There is a reason their consumer ratings have crashed since 2016. They are SCAM artists. Don't waste your money like I did. BUYER BEWARE!!!

Apparently, 24/7 does not truly mean 24/7, There are clearly operational gaps in their system; however, once the claim was initiated, we received fast and friendly service from Hornet's Heating and Air.     This is literally the worst company of any kind I have ever dealt with... from their sales team to their 'customer service' to their policies... It is all awful so I would advise anyone looking for a home warranty company to steer clear of them. To summarize, the check that my title company sent them after I bought my home apparently never made it and I found out 6 months later. Conveniently, my water heater decided to go out that same week. Title company expedited another check and sent me the shipping confirmation that it was received.

    After over a week of calling and being transferred around from department to department, someone was finally able to locate the check and apply to my account. However, they have a 30 day waiting period before you can file a claim. I had to then get my title company involved and 'Ron' from the company 'did me a favor' and allowed me to file the claim. However, even though my policy says water heaters are covered, apparently leaks to the water heater are not covered and therefore they are not going to fix my water heater. I then try to cancel my policy and get my money back and am told that not only is there a $75 cancellation fee, but I would also then have to pay their share of the service call for the technician that came out when I already paid my share of the fee. I would also only get back the prorated share of my policy so I would basically end up paying about 50% of the cost of the policy just to cancel.

    I have been a customer with Select since 2017. I filed my first claim in July 3, 2018, it has been the most horrible experience that I have ever had. After filing a claim, I received an email that it was accepted, with the technician name and telephone number. The email states I should receive a call from the technician in 12 to 24 hours. A full 24 hours went by without contact from the technician. I then called and left a message on the technician voicemail. I waited all day on July 5, until 4:45PM. I then called Selected warranty, and was told 24-48 hours for a technician to contact me. As of July 6, I still had not received a call from the technician. I called back to Select, the representative then said 72 hours for a technician to contact me. At this point, it seems as though the time frame continues to get extended.

    I asked to speak with a manager, I was told it will take 24 hours for a manager to call me back. I asked for the compliance department and was told they do not have one. I asked for the claim to be reassigned to another technician and was told no. It would take 24-28 hours to get a tech reassigned. The customer service with this company is horrible. You can never speak with a representative whose first language is English. I have medication that require refrigeration and has now been ruined. I now realize making a decision to do business with this company has been one of the worse decisions I have made. I have filed a complaint with the BBB. This company should be forced to go out of business. Very deceptive to what was sold to me in 2017.

I like many others asked for a paper contract so I could clearly what is actually covered instead of relying on what SHW had stated during my conversation with one of their representatives. The first issue started when I couldn't use the warranty right away, SHW told me I had to wait 30 days before the warranty would be in effect. After waiting 30 days, I contacted SHW and continued to get the run around and ended up having to pay out of pocket for repairs that SHW stated to me would be covered, not to mention, I had to shell out more money of pocket for service fees, some coverage!?!     For about the past week I have been going back and forth with Daniel ** about a new service policy with Select Home Warranty. Most of our contact has been through email. When I initially spoke with Daniel, I hung up on him because he had nothing to say that I wanted to hear. Daniel followed up with an email to me and mentioned that I hung up before he was able to offer me an incentive. That right there told me that Daniel really wanted to gain me as a customer of Select Home Warranty.     I purchased their home warranty protection. I added on my Geothermal Heating and cooling. When the system stopped working, they sent out a technician. The technician told me once he arrived that Select Home Warranty will not pay to fix anything, but diagnosed the issue. We contacted Select Home Warranty and they denied it because it's a Geothermal System, they do not cover those even though the Policy clearly stated Geothermal in the add on, but they still will not cover it. So we agreed to cancel the policy. However 2 months later they still have not refunded our money and they keep telling us the check should be here in 2 or 3 days. Now we are in the process of taking them to court. We attempted to have them fix others things that were denied as well. If you feel you need a home warranty I would suggest using someone else.

    I haven’t used the coverage yet but customer service was extremely helpful and efficient with getting me the coverage that we needed for our home. So we are hoping once we do file a claim any future correspondences will be handled just as professional, efficient and seamless. We have had other warranties in the past and have not been happy with the companies. So we will see what happens. It’s hard to have much more to write about since we haven’t submitted a claim yet. But the coverage and price seemed like a good value to us.

    I bought home appliance insurance through Select Home Warranty over 4 months ago. Dryer broke down 2 months ago, and that’s when the problem started happening. Called Customer Service, they didn’t have any engineers to come out. Asked me to sort out my own. All engineers I called refused to work with the company. Then I called them back, asked for an engineer. 5 weeks wait, guy turns up, takes my money, and says he will send the diagnosis through to Select Home Warranty. Nothing happens.

    I call back for total 2 months to Select Home Warranty who claim they will escalate to sort this out. Nothing happens. I ask to escalate to the supervisor. Supervisor says they can’t do anything about it, even though it’s their recommended engineer. Go online- find out someone wrote he turns up to jobs drugged up. Insurance contract cost me 1000 USD, no service, and still trying to get my dryer fixed. Will be asking for a refund. Terrible customer service, company doesn’t care about customers. Were quick to sell me the package but have delivered nothing since. I feel robbed and cheated. Never again.
