I'm a Single girl, with a modest income, that just purchased her first home. It's older and I was quite concerned about the expense of fixing things that broke. Someone recommended Select Home Warranty and am I thankful that I called! From the knowledgeable customer service to the amazing, affordable coverage, I could not be more pleased! It makes my little piece of real estate even more enjoyable, just knowing if something breaks I'm covered!

I've always wanted to purchase a Home Warranty but thought it would be too expensive for our budget. After contacting Select Home Warranty and speaking with their excellent customer service representative, I was surprised to find an amazing warranty at a totally affordable price! Even monthly payments are available! It gives me such peace of mind to know that all the important components of my home can be fixed or replaced for such an unbelievably low cost!

Fred was patient and knowledgeable in explaining the warranty. I chose the 6 year plan with roof protection. I paid the entire amount upfront which will average $291 per month with protection through 9.14.2024. Service fee reduced from $75 to $45 for paying this way. It covers $15,000 claims per year. I know that I will use this warranty. The contract is 9 pages long and lists exclusions. I would like to have read it first.

I have Select Home Warranty for last one year and have made two service calls: One for dryer and washer and the other for garbage disposer. They serviced the dryer and washer and granted $75 reimbursement for garbage disposer. I was asked for the receipt which I submitted. But the reimbursement check didn't come. When I enquired, they claimed to have not received the reimbursement form which I never received. I have asked for the reimbursement form. Hope to get my check soon.

Bought home (not new) & had inspection done. AC passed & worked fine for few months. Repair estimate $1300. Select won’t pay but $150 because we don’t have 3 yrs maint. records. We’ve owned about 3 mos! SCAM.

William was very professional, spoke clearly, offered discounts for a 5 year or 3 year, but we only want to start out with one year at our ** rental property. We researched all the other home warranty companies, used American Home Shield in the past = very dissatisfied because their website & phone systems kept going down, even though we never placed a call. We chose Select Home Warranty over all the others. We have other rental properties, if all goes well we'll switch those over also - thanks.

Kevin was very helpful in signing us up for your home warranty plan. Gave me all the options. Gave me various payment options and did not pressure me into using a payment option I wasn't comfortable with. I chose the monthly payment plan. Also answered my questions concerning use of a contractor I'm familiar with vs one you may be working with. Overall the signup process was smooth, efficient and courteous. Thanks for your assistance.

Bruce ** was a great service man. He explained the service and told me the ratings that the company have and was very polite. He told me what the prices was and what all was covered and how much it would and he called me back when I told him that I couldn't talk to him right then. He was very sweet and I would tell my family who owns homes to call Select Home Warranty and ask for Bruce ** because he was a very nice salesmen.

I am in need of Select Home Warranty's guidelines for the transfer of Policy ownership, from Me/seller to the buyer at closing. The first person I spoke to sent me a copy of my Policy and told me the requested information was in that document. It turns out, it is not. When I called back, the next person told me she would notify the office of my request and I would receive the forms in an email.

I am very disappointed in Select Home Warranty. I had high hopes when I contracted with them but my experience has been horrible! absolutely horrible! First there was a delay in approving my claim. Then when the repair person came and submitted the claim request. They low balled me on the claim reimbursement. Finally, because of the delay in service, I have lost all of my food in the refrigerator worth hundreds of dollars. You hear about terrible service in this industry but now I have experienced it and learned my lesson. Now I want to warn everyone to beware and not contract with them. Terrible customer service and they break every promise they have made.

Was great working with Isaac. Process was smooth and easy. Isaac was pleasant and enjoyed working with him. Good to hear that you can use any licensed contractor since I use one twice a year maintenance. Looking forward to working with Select Home Warranty in the future. I now have peace of mind knowing things are covered. I ended up purchasing the platinum plan for the best coverage. Thank you Isaac for all your help in making my decision.

I bought a home warranty on 8/14/18. I received no email on confirmation. No information at all. It is supposed to be 2 payments of 187.50. The first payment came out of my account on 8/14. I still don't know when the second payment is due. A phone call on 8/23 produced results But I still need to know when the second payment is due. Shame on all of you! Someone needs to make this good, when I call to discuss this problem, I'm put on hold for a long time.

Your rep, Mark ** was very professional & courteous when explaining all the options to me pertaining to Select Home Warranty services, options & pricing structure. I was initially calling around for quotes, best prices & services but Mr. ** convinced me that agreeing with SHW was my best choice. After agreeing to the terms on this contract for my permanent residency, I discussed with Mr. ** an additional contract for a rental property as well.

Response time from technician was too long. It is the hot part of the summer now in Florida. The technician did not even contact me for 6 hours after he accepted the job to confirm when he would be out to look at my problem. SHW did not reimburse me the full part price of $197.00, but only gave me $150.00. Also my icemaker broke and you denied coverage even though the salesman informed me that it was covered. Phone conversations with customer service reps showed no sympathy for my problem and did nothing to rush the repair to the A/C even though I told them I was expecting company (5 people) that afternoon.

I am thankful for the purchase but I think that there should be a system in place so only one customer service representative call you. I had about 15 call in one day. Once it was all said and done my sale customer service representative was respectfully and a pleasant to speak with. I am satisfied with my purchase and service that will be given with my policy.

Excellent, quick service and was able to answer my questions and offer me great discounts. I was very pleased! I would refer the service to a friend. What I liked most about the plan was the quality, affordability, coverage and deductible amount, which is what led me to become a member. I don't know what else to say other than I thought the sales rep was pleasant, quick, able to answer my questions, professional, etc. Also, in comparing the plan, I think it was comparable but more affordable than most. I can't comment on the service yet since I will be a first time user, but I hope it equates to the customer service received. Looking forward to doing business. Lastly, I liked that the discounted plan coverage offered was risk free.

She did her best to stay calm and tried to help get my problems solved because I could not understand why, what was going on, what's happening. I sent all 3 claims through the mail but they only had 1 so she did her best to find out what was going on with my microwave, ceiling fan and air conditioner.

Kevin ** contacted me and convinced me to obtain multi-year home warranty insurance plans. He is an asset to Select, he is knowledgeable of your products and awards. He walked me through each step. I had contacted four other companies and explained that I would not make my decision until this weekend. Needless to say, I had to call them back and apologize.
Mr. **, asked all the right questions to tailor fit the best plan for me such as am I a senior, and have I been in the military, he explained in that I have thirty days to cancel for a full refund and after 30 - days, a prorated refund so I had nothing to lose but obtaining service insurance today rather than next week. He addressed my concerns, such as coverage for additional refrigerators, stand-alone freezers, air conditioning units, heating, electrical, and systems in general. He is definitely an asset to your company. I plan to refer a neighbor who is unhappy with her current warranty service.

Abraham **, our customer service representative was excellent. He assisted us in picking out a long term platinum plan which was very well priced and had some nice amenities. This is something that everyone should consider as repair costs can be intense for most anything in your home. We are covered for six years for virtually every major repair expense that can occur. Hopefully we will never have to use the plan, but it gives us peace of mind for an extended time period in case we do.

When I reached out via online request, I received a call within an hour. The customer service representative spent a lot of time discussing the multiple plans to ensure I knew the many options available. At the end of the call, the representative asked if I had any questions; he was very polite and took the time to listen to any questions I had. I discussed this with my neighbor the next day, as we both had a different warranty company in the past. Very pleased with the pricing and the multiple options available. She is looking into switching her home warranty company as well.

I will call this company as company of false promises. I took this company's policy a year back under Platinum package. When I had an issue in my Bathroom faucet, I got a ticket initiated. My request was denied with a comment that you have plumbing system covered but it doesn't include Plumbing Faucet. So I have to pay additional $49 to get it covered. I paid this amount to get faucets covered unwillingly. Later technician came and asked me to pay $275 to get faucet replaced. I paid this amount as well and he replaced a good quality faucet with the a cheap faucet.
Then I had an issue with my AC unit. it was not cooling and just blowing normal air. This ticket stayed open with them for 20 days, Couple of times they assigned ticket to engineers who never responded to their/my call/VM. Then ticket was assigned to an engineer who doesn't service in my area. Another time ticket was assigned to an engineer who is not licensed to service air-conditioner. Finally ticket was assigned to an AC engineer who came and took my co-pay. After charging co-pay told me that Freon gas is leaking and this item is not covered in insurance.
At the same time, got an email from company with a wording "Issues such as these are generally Freon related (either low freon or a freon leak). Unfortunately, your policy does not cover any Freon leaks or Freon related issues with your HVAC system." If that's the case, why wasn't I given a hint for the same. Now I am being advised to get complete AC unit replaced at my own payment. I will never recommend anyone to go for Select Home Warranty.

Just decided on Select Home Warranty after searching for different plans and looking at reviews of all the top companies. We are nervous being first time home owners with such a big investment. Don’t want any little surprises causing trouble that we didn’t plan. Bruce was very kind and informative. He provided answers to all of my questions and even offered several additional discounts based on my military service. I look forward to working with him in the future. We hope that we will never have to use our coverage but it gives us peace of mind knowing it’s there.

My representative was a very good listener. I am a very busy person, as most people are, and I don't have time for lengthy phone calls, and I don't like pushy sales calls. I requested to be contacted via email or text, and that the terms be explained in simple, clear detail. The representative did exactly what I requested and it was the best sales experience I have ever had! He also informed me that I could receive and additional free month. I feel reassured that if I should have a major home breakdown, I will be able to care for it and not worry about being able to pay for it.

I never received the warranty document. As a result, it was sent to my wife's e-mail address, and I cannot print it. All else seems Ok. Zachary was very informative. I sure wish I could print my warranty to have a hard copy as a backup. I can print other PDF documents, but not my warranty from SHW. I'm certain I'm doing everything correctly. I wish SHW could send me a hard copy of my warranty coverage. I really need a hard copy of my warranty document in case my computer crashes.

Rep was nice. Little bit of a fast talker but was nice. Little pushy to get you to buy more then one year at a time but could make sense for someone if they will be in the home a longer period of time. I got 200 off so you may have to ask for it. If you do a three year it appears that they will give you your service call fee at 45. Clearly this can change with each person who calls but that was just my experience today when I called. It’s a little hard to find reviews for This company but I read a few third party sites and they seemed to rate these guys pretty well.

My ice maker stopped making ice, and the "frost free" feature was not working properly. The freezer was dumping water onto my kitchen floor. The technician came out and diagnosed the problem. He said that a water valve in the refrigerator and the thermistor were not working properly and needed to be replaced. Select Home Warranty refused to cover the repair. They said the repairs were not covered, because there was nothing wrong with the ice maker itself. So, my ice maker still does not work, and the freezer is still dumping water onto my kitchen floor. Select Home warranty refuses to help me out, even though have I paid for both ice maker and refrigerator coverage.

I had a fairly good experience putting in my claim. It was for my microwave, and I was told I will need to get a new one and submit my receipt. I wasn’t certain how they came up with the value of my microwave but I was told I would get reimbursed the value of the microwave minus my deductible. Hopefully they will remember that my deductible was reduced by a Select Home Warranty supervisor. I put my claim in early August, purchased the new microwave right away and submitted the receipt. It’s now several weeks later. I am hopeful that my reimbursement will be timely.

My experience with the sales agent was great. He was thorough in describing the plan and answering all of my concerns. I would recommend this plan to others. The coverage in the plan is good for the value of the product. I have not used the plan yet but I previously had a similar plan and was satisfied with the way the coverage worked and the response time. The Sales Agent stated there are adequate service repair technician to provide quick response time in this area so I look forward to a good relationship with this company. I have reviewed the details of the plan and am satisfied with the coverage that is provided for each appliance and other systems covered by this plan.

I just signed up for the home warranty plan coverage for my home. I pray I won’t need them, but it feels better knowing that they are available if I ever need them. I was excited to learn that they have coverage available in our rural area. My mom and I have researched this company for the past 2 weeks. I kept debating whether to sign up or not. Then I went online and requested information from Home Warranty and they called me this afternoon. I figured with the deal they offered me that I should get the coverage. Excited to see how this all works out.

I told them I had two fans that were not working properly. Was told the work order was submitted and was giving a claim #. Never got an email as promised stating who would be coming out and when to replace fans. Called them back and I was told it was because ceiling fans were not covered on my policy. I stated yes they are and just when were you going to notify me of this because I never got an email stating this. "Yes ma'am you did". "No ma'am. I just checked my emails there is no email from your company."
After being on hold several times and transferred numerous times an agent comes back and says we only fix one ceiling fan per year. After a long conversation with several people I am told that, "We do not service fans. We give you a voucher and you buy one." I stated then on top of this I have to find and pay someone to install a new one.
Then I find out that $45 is all they will pay for a fan replacement. Have they EVER priced fans? I am not buying some cheap fan that probably will not last till the water gets hot and not only that I HAVE TO PAY SOMEONE to install this cheap fan that $45 is suppose to buy!! I live alone thus this is why I have a Home Warranty that is suppose to fix things that are not working. Did not know they were going to make me buy and pay to have things that installed. Why do I pay them a monthly fee to have this Home Warranty if it does me no good? Makes me wonder if something major breaks down if they are going to tell me the same thing? I sorry, because of this I can not trust them anymore and would not recommend them to anyone.

Select Home Warranty had just the insurance coverage I was looking for. I was looking for systems coverage at this time only. Johnathan at Select Home Warranty was very courteous and polite. I would recommend Select Home Warranty to people looking for coverage to have warranty coverage for their systems. I will possibly look to add individual components at a later date. Select Home Warranty's pricing seem to be fair for what they are offering.

On my letter it said that I would receive 1 free month of service by sharing my experience with others. So far I have had very good communication with the sales rep. Everything sounded great. Sounded so good that if I could have afforded the multiple years, I would have done it. Lack of money kept me from it. I hope that if I ever need Select Home Warranty, that they are just as good as the rep!

Jonathon ** did a great job explaining the coverage and was very helpful. He was able to compare the Select coverage as opposed to the coverage I had with First American Warranty company, whom I have been with for over 3 years. I was able to get through to this company very easily and talk to a human being instead of a voice response unit like so many other companies. The first engagement with Select went very well, and I hope they will be as prompt to task when I need them for a service call. That piece remains to be seen, but only time will tell.

Customer service was very professional and concise, willing to work with the customer on finding a plan that fits their need and budget. The plans are very competitive and fairly priced. I haven't yet had need of the warranty, so the jury is still out on how well that works, but for the money it seems like a great value. I would recommend Select Home Warranty as an option to any friends that are looking for a better plan.

Select actually offers senior discount - WOW! Service person Jeff was very helpful and covered all of our questions. We were going to call back but he reassured us that if we made the decision now we would be able to cancel if it did not meet our needs. Oh senior discount does not go up. There is also no monthly service charge for paying month to month. We were very impressed with all aspects of our transaction.

I compared several companies and Select Home Warranty provided the best price with the most coverage. Best of all it is fully transferable either to a new owner of our home or to cover a new home for us. David ** was very pleasant to deal with and was very patient and explained everything, sometimes 2 or 3 times because my kids were screaming in the background. I have not had any experience with their claims process, but as far as shopping around and purchasing a policy they are the best.

I'm pleased so far with the process and I hope everything remains this smooth down the road. I'm glad Select is Licensed and that I did not go with First Choice who is not. I received the coverage Via Email while I was speaking over the phone to the rep. I opted for monthly payments. That fits well with my budget.

Received a tremendous offer of $200 off and 2 months free service. I signed up after reading all the excellent reviews on Select Home Warranty. The Salesperson was very helpful in explaining the extensive list of appliances covered under their warranty and their same day service. I was extremely pleased with the professionalism of the salesperson. The price of the multiyear plans are significantly better than Select Home Warranty's competitors. I have already recommended Select Home Warranty to three of my neighbors.

Bought older house and within a year I needed air conditioner service - they demanded 3 years evidence of service which was not available so they offered $150.00 consolation payment if I had the service (paid totally by me). Two months later and I am still waiting for the check for $150.00. They continually have excuses and delays for this payment. DO NOT BUY THIS COMPANY'S CONTRACT SERVICE --- They will come up with ANY REASON NOT to COVER the service.

I called for service on my water heater, 3 days later a tech came out and put the claim in. A few hours later I got an email saying that leaks are not covered for water heaters. Don't they hold water? I called to cancel my policy and requested a refund. Let's see how that turns out.

The rep was very knowledgeable and very friendly. I ask tons of questions. He knew all the answers. Very knowledgeable about plans and deductibles. His name was David **. This plan is well needed for any homeowner, I love that they had several plans to choose from so that every walk of life can afford this plan. The Select Home Warranty agent, Richard, saved us money upfront and explained the entire process for coverage and claims. Information came rapidly to our email. Quick and efficient. Great coverage at a fair price. We needed extra coverage on our water pump and septic tank and having such gives us additional peace of mind. I checked with other providers first and did a comparison to each and find Select to be our best choice. We all hope that we have no issues but that’s not realistic; systems and appliances fail and can be extremely costly to repair so having a home warranty service makes perfect sense.

Abraham was a great representative. He presented me with various options and described the plan efficiently. Select Warranty gave me a great value for my plan and covers all the essential appliances in my home. Some of the other plans that I have contacted did not offer me the same coverage and value. I would have to pick between central air conditioner, heating unit, garage door opener or all 3 plus the appliances like refrigerator for almost double the price. I'm happy that they helped us with our issue (broken microwave) promptly and we will be given money towards replace our unit. We will be getting another unit soon and we should be getting something that is a slight better upgrade. I filed a claim with Select Home Warranty to replace my garbage disposal. My experience with customer service was phenomenal and they answer all my questions in short time of period. Since my garbage disposal was between nine to ten years old and the cost to be repair it exceeds the unit current value in the market, I was approved for the amount of 75 dollars to replace the old unit... The only downside is the replaceable unit cost $88 plus tax. I guess I will be responsible for the difference price.

In May of this year, I had an issue with one of AC units. They provided me with a AC service provider from their approved vendor list, they did not cover that service call due to it being AC drainage clog. The technician did a complete maintenance on units at that time, submitted diagnosis to select. Fast forward (today), both units went out. It was stated that I need the history on the units. Remember in May the diagnosis was given. Mysteriously, the diagnosis invoice disappeared and they have no record. I asked them what is their policy for record retention, crickets. I resent them that record again and photos of units, my claim was denied for coverage. This company is not worth money or hassle. Avoid this company at all cost.

The customer service rep was extremely helpful and nice. Walked me through the process and was able to find me a lower price to better fit my needs. I was told it would be same day service though and since I submitted my claim it has been three days and I haven’t received any further clarification as to where the process is. This was my first time using my home warranty. I submitted my claim online the morning of Aug 5 and never heard from anyone. Late that afternoon I called and the Select Home Warranty rep apologized and said someone should have called me already. My air conditioner was out and the rep said it would be 24-48 hours before someone would come out; not helpful in Florida in August. The rep said I could pay someone and submit a claim for reimbursement, which I did (my AC was fixed that evening). I filed for reimbursement the next day along with my receipt. I was approved for reimbursement within a couple days but had to submit my receipt twice.
It took two weeks before I finally received the reimbursement agreement to sign (just got it Thursday, Aug 16) and now have to wait up to 30 days to get a check. The customer service reps were polite but not based in the US, which resulted in my having to explain what I needed several times, almost like the reps weren't reading the notes from my previous calls or maybe there were not notes. If I have to use the warranty again, I hope it's an easier process.

Fan has started to wobble causing concerns for ceiling attachment. It has also lost 2 of it's 3 speeds. It has progressively gotten worse. My client and I had the worst experience. They scammed her into purchasing this platinum policy for $399 and said that her HVAC was 100% covered. While residing at the house for 4 months the AC started to fail, they gave her the runaround for 4 months now that it needs repair and refuses to fix the issue. We requested a full refund as they have done nothing to resolve or repair and now they are saying they will credit her $70 because the insurance is Pro-rated. This is a scam. They trick people and take their hard earned money and will not repair anything. We spoke to the manager Edward ** to our shock was extremely rude, speaking over us, and being inappropriate when we requested to deal with someone else hung up on us. I cannot explain our shock as how management treats their customers is mind boggling.

I have been dealing with them since June. First I had a problem with AC. It was leaking water. They would not send anyone out to look at it. There was a pan that was cracked. They said they don’t cover leaks. Then I had a problem with my dishwasher. No one in my area would come out to look at it. They told me to get my own service and they would reimburse me minus 60$. The washer needed 2 new parts. The service provider could not get 1 of the parts.
Called and was told to go buy a new dishwasher. Limit was 500.00. Bought a new one for 429.00. Sent all of the receipts. They are only giving me 125.00. Nothing for the service call. They said because I got my own service person. I have gone around and around with these people. Even spoke to a supervisor. They all had a different story and most of them were rude and you could tell they were reading from a script. I will not be renewing. This is the first time I have EVER had to write a bad review. Very disappointed in this company. The person who sold me this policy was very misleading as well. Buyer beware.

So far so good. Have called Select Home Warranty for a claim number and they told me local associates will call or email me within 24 hrs to schedule repairs. I have had home warranty before and some outfits were not responsive. Select Home Warranty seems to be taking care as per their contract stipulates. The sign up was simple. It didn't ask for a full address. The representative that calls you asks for it. The representative that called, Abraham was polite. There were a couple of things I didn't like about the sign up process, that it refers you to a representative, without getting all your info, you don't get to choose the service fee then the representative tries to get you to pay in full to get the lower service fee.

I was told I would receive an email from the repair service. I was to call the number provided to set up a repair appointment. This would be within 24-48 hours. Nothing was mentioned that the weekend was not included in that time frame. After 4 "business days", still no email. Called Select & was provided a repair service number to call. The company advised they were not provided an email address & didn't even have the correct phone number to reach us. If we had not followed up, there still would have been no contact.
One week later we had a set time; 2p-6p. & the repairman would call on his way. At 5:30p still no call. Attempted to call & text the repair company, no answer. Tried again at 6p & 6:15p; no answer. They provided an email address for contact. Sent the email. Finally at 6:20p the repairman called to advise he was in route. No courtesy call earlier to advise he was running behind & no apology when he arrived. Before he was even done with the repair, we were told to "get the check ready" he had other calls. He arrived in a personal vehicle with no indication of who the company was. Yes, the appliance was repaired, but there was little professionalism displayed.

The customer service was good and the result of the claim was fair. I needed a garbage disposal replaced. They reimbursed me $75 dollars and would not cover any labor. It was not anything that I could do myself (I am female, not strong enough to hold the garbage disposal while attaching it) so had to hire someone to do the work. The garbage disposal was $144 and the labor was $80. I felt like I really had to pay too much. Their policy said I would have to pay the first $75, then they would pay the remainder, so I didn't feel like they did exactly what their policy stated.

I had to find my own service provider to complete the claim because I did not receive a call from the service provider that was assigned and I could not get in contact with them either. Great service at contracting them. I just contracted them and included water softener coverage. Plumbing and electrical included for a 3 year coverage. I was pleased that the phone was answered by a human almost immediately. In this day and age, that is a huge bonus. I wasn’t pressured into anything - another plus. All of my questions were answered. I was given time to decide to discuss the plan with my wife. I was able to call back and get the same pleasant rep I was dealing with. As of right now, I am impressed with the professionalism.

Did my research of the top home warranty companies in central GA and found Select Home Warranty to have the best plan and rates for my needs. I was recently with HSA and was not happy with the service. The Select rep walked me through various options and I settled on the 3 year plan and saved 50% from what I would have paid upon renewal. The price dropped on the service call from $75 to $60. The added incentive of free roofing warranty, normally $100, was just another reason to switch. The process was simple and the customer service rep, Zachary, was knowledgeable. Do your homework, but make sure your last call is to Select Home Warranty. You won't be disappointed.

Online, then with one 10 min phone conversation, sign up was completed at a great price. The company policy offerings are the best and most affordable I have found. I have not placed a service call as yet but all indications are that it will go smoothly also. I opted for the 3 year policy as it fit my current needs. The fact that I can renew after 3 years at my current rate is a great plus.

When I signed up was not told about 24 hour wait to get service. I signed up in March and there was a 30-day wait to use it but I found out later you cannot get a full refund after 30 days. How are you going to know if they are any good if you cannot submit a claim before the refund expires. I made a claim in July and waited three days and still no repair appointment. I called and canceled my policy because I did not want to wait if I trouble with my furnace in the winter. I was told I would get a full refund at that time. I waited a month and still no check. I called and was told the check was mailed on the 23 of July and this was August 9th.
I wait a few more days and called and was told they would stop that check and reissue one for half of what I had paid. I talked to several people and got nowhere. I found the refund policy on the last page of my very fine print policy. They deducted for each month I had the policy even though I made no claims plus $75 dollars fee. I feel they were not honest upfront when I purchased this and anyone should be made aware of these things before they buy. Thank you.

Getting them to pay a claim is nearly impossible. You will have to follow up time and time again. We had a claim over 14 weeks ago... Still no payment but we keep hearing "we are processing that." Customer service is non-existent and when you attempt to contact them... Be prepared to spend a very lengthy amount of time on the phone with them. Do NOT use this company!!!
Updated on 08/24/2018: In late April we had an appliance break that was covered under our warranty. Select could not find a repairman so they told us to get our own and they would reimburse us. They received the invoice the first week of May and 15 weeks later we still have not received the reimbursement. We keep hearing - you should get it in 7-10 business days. Well, today - they said maybe 30 days. They will not allow you to speak to a supervisor and there is really no recourse at all when they won't pay you. They have agreed that they owe us the money - they just have yet to provide it to us. Every experience we have with them is worse than the previous. Do NOT use them - they are absolutely horrible to deal with and their people are rude.

I started in online inquiry. And a representative called me back and was very nice and helpful. He assisted me with getting the proper coverage that I needed. And provided me with additional support if I needed that as well. This is my first home warranty and I am very happy that the representative was able to guide me through every step of the process. The customer service agent was very detailed in the explanation of what I will receive in the way of service and costs. Explained how to submit a claim if needed. I had asked about the discount offered and how I can partake in the benefits of the discounts. The agent explained the other discounts available with a longer contract and the savings that would be obtained with a longer contract with price protection. I was originally going to go with the monthly payment, however after talking with the agent I went with paying for the year at the beginning because of the added benefit of two additional months.

I was very impressed with the amount of coverage provided for the annual cost. Select Home Warranty is very competitive and comprehensive. The agent, Zachary **, was full of information and very helpful. He answered all my questions and provided written confirmation in the form of email to verify the coverage I would receive. I was impressed with the items included on the list, which covers major things the air conditioning and heating, washer and dryer, refrigerator and ice maker, on down to ceiling fans.

Only okay with the last call in today. Felt he was the only person who has been straightforward with me. Feel when I was sold service was misinformed and took advantage of. Also you took a second payment well in advance without my authorization. When ac problems occurred waiting over five days when it is hot in my dwelling. Still waiting for ac to be fixed and cannot live this way. Please show some genuine concern and resolve quickly. Before tech came out blower was working. After he was done it totally stopped and would not work anymore. He left parts outside a metal box and did not put it back. Concerned about the vendors you are using.

About three months ago, we decided to purchase a home warranty through Select Home Warranty. We purchased the one which covers all appliances in our home. Well, last week, my ice maker stopped working. We called Select Home and was, "your plan didn't cover the ice maker, only the refrigerator." We were told we had to pay an additional forty dollars if we wanted our ice maker repaired so we paid it. A repair guy came out and we had to pay him sixty dollars.
Next Select Home said they would only pay one hundred fifty dollars and we would be responsible for paying over hundred dollars for the repairs. Well, we decided to cancel our plan and are still waiting to be refunded because we paid four hundred dollars to start the plan three months ago. Their customer service is the worst and they are extremely rude. Please do not throw your money away with this company. I was also told that this company is not accredited with BBB. Please oh please don't select this company.

The salesman, Jeff **, was helpful in taking my phone calls and discussing the program with me. He was also helpful in explaining options and reviewing coverage. He was prompt in following up on our inquiry and e-mailed us and called me several times. He carefully reviewed the pricing and term length options. The call was answered and processed without an issue. I have received a $100 toward a new garbage disposal, but have not yet received information as to the technician assigned to the claim. I will wait a day before contacting Select in hopes that a follow up email with that information will be forthcoming. I am assuming I will pay my flat fee per contract to have the installation done and that the $100 goes towards the cost of the actual unit. Slightly confusing, but pleased with the prompt response and good customer service.

After receiving horrible customer service from American Home Shield I reviewed a bunch of other companies and Select came out the best. The customer service was awesome. There are not a lot of companies that cover salt pools and I was happy that you do. Another thing that made me happy to do business with your company is because you offer a military discount and that is a major thing to me. I always spend my money with companies that support me and others that serve. The last thing that sealed the deals was the low service call fee. Other companies charge you an arm and a leg for the contract and only offer to bring the price down if you agree to a high service call fee. The whole conversation with the agent was a true testament to commitment to give great service.

The rep answered all questions, filed my service request and sent me an email outlining my contract. So far so good. He led me to believe I will be contacted tomorrow to schedule an appointment for service. We have a failed air conditioner and cannot stay in our home in the summer months without it working properly. Rapid response is important to us. We are senior citizens and the heat gets to us easily. A service call today would have been preferred but as it is Sunday we could not expect it.

I paid my year policy in 3 months. This company allows you to pay monthly but I paid mine off in less than 3. When I was 10 days shy off 3 months in my washer broke. The company has you go online to file a ticket for repair. After waiting 4 days I called them. Guess what? It was never received even though I have a confirmed e-mailed so I then told a rep over the phone and they said a repair company would call me, after waiting another week they finally came out and told me that my washer was too costly to fix and I would need a new one.
Again I had to call the company because I never heard from them. The answer was I had a 30 day waiting period so all they could do was offer me $150. After I purchased a new washer. I scrambled to get the money as now it's been 3 weeks without a washer. Once the washer was purchased I was then told to send in the receipt which I did on August 1st. 3 calls later they keep telling me that they are sending me a agreement form before they can even process my refund. Still no form!! How do these companies get away with this. I am a single income family that is why I bought the warranty. Can you help?

He explained all of the options available to us and very patient while we weighed our options. He described how the policy works and what was covered. Select Home Warranty did not live up to their part of the contract. My AC unit died during the extreme AZ heat, temps over 112 degs. Called Select, they took my info, then told me they have to review my issue before a tech comes out. Why, and what info do they need to review? No diagnosis was obtained yet. After they agreed to get a contractor involved, they tell me a contractor will call within 12 hours. That never happened. Wasn’t until 3 days later, is when the tech called.
Living in AZ, having an AC unit working is vital. We decided not to wait for their tech to call, which again he didn’t do so within their guidelines. Called Select, they asked if it's ok to get my own contractor. They said that’s fine but their authorization team needs to speak with my tech before approving repairs. When we called, their authorizations team was closed.
We still submitted for reimbursement. Now Select wants records of maintenance to find a pre-existing condition. We don’t have those records, so they decided to limit my reimbursement. When I call to discuss, the rep on the blatantly lied, to which I called him out on it. I asked to escalate the call to a supervisor, had to wait 4 days for a callback. They want to know who has worked on it, we tell them no one or else Select would have those records. Select is more interested in saving money and their bottom line versus helping the customer.
They didn’t even follow through with their techs, and yet they want to penalize us. The tech who serviced my unit gave it a clean bill of health. Said no concerns, yet Select wouldn’t accept that. DO NOT USE SELECT, THEY WILL FIND A LOOPHOLE TO NOT PAY. I'm going tell everyone and write more reviews telling of my negative experience and how they won’t help. Yes I do know Real Estate agents in the AZ market, I will tell them not use Select, because they won’t help.

After conducting research online, Select was the cheapest quote that I could find that covered all the applicable systems and appliances that I needed. A representative reached out to me quickly and after what was maybe a five minute phone call my policy was completed for slightly less dollars per month than I expected. Painless experience. I am a first time home policy buyer and have never had to use the services from a warranty company before. I can’t speak to how well Select responds to service requests, however my online research showed great reviews in this area and my customer service experience so far has been pleasant.

I attempted to file my first claim: my garage door opener's spring was broken, and my car was trapped inside! As a new customer (3 months) I never received a welcome pkg., etc. And didn't know of any exclusions. I'd paid $700 for my home and my mothers'. When they told me springs were excluded, I had to pay almost $300 out of pocket! So, I asked to cancel the worthless warranty, they told me after prorating 3 months membership and a $75 cancellation fee for each home, they would be keeping close to $400 of my money, more than half after only 3 months and no service!
I feel soo ripped off ! I learned a $1000 lesson I'll never forget! I lost all confidence that I'll be protected with this warranty in the future! I'd have been better off keeping my $700 and just paying for repairs as I need them and would've had money left over! Customer service politely apoligized but didn't budge on their exclusion! Yet I'm out of close to $1000! I'm so upset! Thanks for letting me blow off some steam! Nothing will probably come of this, so I'll just ask God to fix this injustice, sow the lost as a seed and move on.

And eventually made the policy affordable than many others companies. Also found that their service fee is lower than many others. The sale agent was very clear about the benefits. Sales promises repair or replacement of covered appliances or systems with guaranteed one day service call. This is a lie. All of what they sell you is lies, and the contract that they send basically says that they've lied to you and you aren't covered at all for the first month and then the next two months $150 per claim IF it should be covered, and then after three months $ 500 max per appliance and $2000 max for major system PROVIDED THEY DON"T FIND ANOTHER WAY TO SLIP OUT OF PAYING YOUR CLAIM. Check out reviews on YELP as well, and Facebook. I can't believe I was dumb enough to believe this crap! Breakdown of coverage: day 0-30= no coverage. Day 31-92= appliances max coverage $150. Day 92- 365= appliances max coverage $500 (where are we getting a new appliance for this price?) and this is not what the sales pitch tells you.
Here is the big one... The major systems like your heat and central air? Ha ha ha. Even if they should be covered, they won't. You will have to produce 3 years of maintenance records and pictures, and that is to receive a MAX payment of $500 between days 31 and 92. If you have lived in your home less than a year and have no records, or if you have less than 3 years? You will FIGHT for a measly $ 150. Yes $150 and they will not send you a check for the agreed amount. I paid for a year up front because I was stupid enough to believe that this company had a shred of integrity. My AC claim was denied because I don't have three years of maintenance records (just bought the place).

Stay away! This company is a scam. I never write reviews but my experience has been so terrible I felt I needed to save any other new home buyers who don’t know any better like my husband and I. Our AC and our furnace had parts that broke (fan and a blower) and they denied the claims for false reasons. I talked to a few customer service reps that actually told me over the phone the claim should and would be covered, but then when it came time to approve it, they rejected the claim. We even caught them in lies!
Our tech called in our diagnosis and told them specifically it wasn’t a electrical problem. I get an email the next day saying they rejected our claim because it was an electrical issue... I felt like I was going crazy. We had to call them again and they came back the next day with another reason why that claim is now rejected! A waste of money and time. Don’t do it. It’s so much more frustrating and if something breaks, you won’t get what you need.

Customer service was excellent upon sign up. This company provides great value for the money and services offered. I talked to Richard and he was excellent and helpful. After looking at a bunch of other warranty services, we chose Select Home Warranty.

From the onset of my initial reporting to SHW, a Garage Door Repair company contacted us a day later and confirmed a service appointment within 3 days. The designated Garage Door repairmen responded on time (as arranged), brought all required equipment & material. He repaired our garage door to our liking and exceeded our expectation on keeping the workspace neat and efficiently completing required repairs within an hour. As with all Warranty Companies, there are the RARE smooth and efficiently processed complaints such as this. We have had difficulties in the past, but felt compelled to report & compliment SHW and contracted Garage Door Company on this occasion.

So far I've been very satisfied with the Customer Service. I've not had to use a claim, until now. Will be able to give a fairer review of service after this claim. I just renewed my policy, because of the incentives and discounts offered, plus the reviews. I'm putting in a claim for some electrical concerns.

My husband called to cancel plan, thinking he had clicked the wrong link. Customer service turned the call around, he kept his policy, and they gained me as a customer for my home as well. I had a plan with another service, Select Home Warranty was almost half the price and had a lower co-pay. Great job to the call center, for being able to turn the situation around and gaining a new customer. I am excited to be saving money and having a higher rated plan in the bargain.

Agent (David) was very kind and respectful. He worked hard to help me understand everything I was getting for my money, and even divided the yearly payments into 3 installments to better fit my budget, without any strings attached. Great job winning my business! At this point I have not used the service yet, so I would not be able to give an accurate description of how the technicians perform their job duties. If it is anything like the customer service I received from David, my experience will be top notch!

I signed up for a new policy. This is my first time purchasing a policy from Select Home Warranty. The process was easy and I took advantage of a special they were running. The sales rep was helpful in answering the questions that I had. They offer extended service periods which are a really good deal. However, I was unable to commit at the time. I received a good rate on the service call. I hope that the service call visits are as smooth as the process to obtain a plan.

Is Select Home Warranty a FRAUDULENT company? Answer is YES. I took a 1 year plan to cover all equipment in my house. I Called them after 35 days for a small fridge repair. No one called me back to schedule service. When I complained, they told me that my repair is not covered. I asked why, and they said fridge is not covered! Then I called to cancel the policy. They immediately went to supervisor and said they will send someone for service. I insisted that I cancel. They cancelled and said they will issue a full refund. It is now 60 days and no refund came. I called my credit card company and put the charge on dispute. Do not deal with this Company. The CEO should be in Jail.

My customer service representative, David listened to what I had to say about the type of plan I wanted. He gave me alternatives that were exactly what I was looking for. David answered my questions and was never pushy, so I felt comfortable and not pressured to make a rushed decision when I decided to buy my plan. I shopped around and after I was certain this was the best value for my money, bought this plan. I called a few days later after my purchase because I couldn't find my email with my contract. David just re-sent it right away and waited in line to make sure I got it.

Customer service was very understanding and this is our first time with this company. We were with 2-10 warranty company for 9 years and decided to change with Select and am sure glad I changed. Plan on staying. We're both seniors and we like the very way everything is explained to us. We also had our dishwasher claim ** tomorrow which also had a positive outcome and again were extremely lucky to have found Select warranty. Will be getting more customers due to their politeness.

After spending weeks researching home warranties to replace the one that came with my home purchase, I finally decided on Select Home Warranty because of their stellar reputation in my region. The sales rep was quite knowledgeable, very professional and unlike a few other companies didn't attempt to hard sell me. Ultimately, all my questions were answered and the telephone exchange provided me with a sense of confidence in the company. I look forward to my first year with them, and hope I never have to make use of the service.

Very helpful and good. First time I ever had home warranty and I been in my house for 10 years now and was afraid something would break down and I am on a very tight budget and don't have the funds to pay for new air conditioner, water heater, heating system, any plumbing or broken lines, stove, sprinkler system, doorbell, ceiling fans, and dishwasher. So that is why I enrolled in this after having my house for ten years.

I have had this warranty for one year and have been very pleased so I got another year. The warranties with other companies are not as comprehensive. Also, the other companies have a higher service call deductible. The price I paid for the new year is the same price I paid for the original year so there were no price increases. They called me to remind me that my warranty period was almost over so there would be no lapse in coverage.

Great customer service from Jonathan **, he fully explained all of the questions that I had and sold me on a good product. I liked that the warranty could be transferred and that it could cover a full replacement of an item if it could not be fixed. I would definitely recommend the services as it was highly recommended to me by a friend. I will likely use this plan on future property as well.

The customer service representative was very knowledgeable and helped me choose the perfect warranty for me. We discussed the various options and what I was looking for in a warranty. Taking these factors into account, the customer service representative advised me that I could choose the coverage that I needed and not pay for items that I did not. The customer service representative answered all of questions and I did not feel pressured or rushed to make a decision like I felt when I contacted other companies. I would definitely recommend this service to friends, family and coworkers. Hoping I never have to use it, but will sleep better knowing that I have the convenience and protection of the home warranty.

They were fast and informative. They got the problem (Sump pump) fixed hassle free. When I called they took all the time information and I received a call the next day to schedule an appointment. They came out checked out the problem, then they fixed it on the spot no more waiting. I would highly recommend them. Thank you for all your help and support, you guys are doing awesome. Belinda ** was very helpful in explaining the policies. We were questioning what the coverage cap for system replacement was and she explained there was no cap. She also recommended purchasing the freon adder and explained exactly what it entailed. I would recommend Select Home Warranty to anyone, and specifically to work with Belinda **. She also provided me with all the information I would need to hand off to our title/loan officer and gave me her direct phone number should I have any remaining questions. Within minutes of receiving invoice request from our loan officer, she provided them the information they needed.

I talked with Zach. He was very helpful and explained/answered all my questions. He seemed to be very knowledgeable about the different options and sold me on what I needed. I have had a bad experience with a previous company with price increases and getting harder to speak to a real person when having issues with my house. I was able to speak to a real person here with a very short hold time.

I have to say that if your service plan is as good as Dealing with Mark **, Then I know I'm going to be taken great care of. I've had Am. Home Shield in the past... But they have just gotten too expensive and not as friendly! I have to say, by no later than tomorrow I will be talking to my parents about Your company and Hopefully Mark will be there. Just FYI you may want to rethink the constant pop ups in the left bottom corner I was in that field before and it makes people think you're a little anxious. And Please let someone call you or call me once instead of 5 times w/ messages before I made up my mind. Big turn off. If I didn't get Mark I'd might had gone elsewhere... I'm just saying. I hope you take this into consideration. I think it would help your business.

Sol was incredibly friendly and helpful. Couldn’t ask for better service and he was very knowledgeable. I had contacted several different home warranty companies today and was extremely pleased with your rate and service call fee. The best I found. Many other companies were pushing me to sign up right now even though I stated that my main objective was to get quotes. Sol was very understanding and when I advised that I needed to discuss with my wife first he offered to call me back. Needless to say, we went with your company.

I had a very positive experience with Select Home Warranty. David was personable and knowledgeable about the warranty. He explained how it worked and the details of what coverage was available and we were able to choose the plan we wanted. Our relatives made a decision to include a home warranty in their portfolio which is why we made the decision to do the same. The application was short, the questions were simple and didn't take long.
