Renewal call - He was pleasant on the phone and offered various alternative selections. Provided me with alternatives that would work. Overall positive experience. The telephone connection was not overly good but could hear him; and there was noise in the background which should be addressed.

I called to inquire about a home warranty for the home we recently purchased in Grand Junction, CO. I was expecting to get a one-year policy, but the discount for a multi-year policy was too good to pass up. Not only was the rate excellent, but the copay amount was also reduced. I definitely will recommend Select Home Warranty to others who are seeking protection for their home and appliances. Good job and thanks for the great service.

Customer rep provided different options and fair deal. Coverage is nice and will find out in the future. 3 years plan is better than 1year plan and you will extra 6 months free as well. If you are not satisfied you will get full money back. Award winning service since the past two years and will continue to use this service. Deductible is low if you compare with other companies. Make sure you get the best deal.

Experience was detailed and to the point and very affordable. Customer service was top of line and very efficient. All of the details were straightforward and paying was easy as well which made for a more pleasant experience. I will just repeat myself all over again. I liked that I was able to split my payments up and pay off my balance early. If I obtain more property, I am able to have them all serviced under this contract which is awesome.

I'm regretting the purchase of a 5 year plan and I've only had to use it twice. Each occasion required me to find my own service provider and MULTIPLE calls to Select Home Warranty. On one instance, SHW assigned me a contractor that didn't even service my area resulting in even more days that my kitchen was INOPERABLE. Additionally, not all "authorized" work was covered so the reimbursement check that I won't receive for what will be 2 months after the claim was filed won't even cover the costs that were initially discussed and "approved" by the approval department.
My warranty is paid for...not monthly payments but paid entirely. I shouldn't have to be inconvenienced to use a service I've paid for 5 years in advance. I literally called 2 weeks ago to get status of a reimbursement check for a service I had to pay for out of pocket for a claim that I filed on SEPTEMBER 15. When talking to a supervisor this evening checking the status AGAIN on this claim, I'm left with "unfortunately ma'am you agreed to these conditions". WOW. If they had to work as hard for payment as I do, we'd have no warranty to even discuss. Furthermore, I can't even cancel without paying cancellation fees and losing this pending reimbursement check that apparently takes more than a month to generate (30 business days...not calendar). This has been a frustrating company to work with to say the very least...and probably not one I will recommend to anyone again.

The customer service is great. The cash reimbursement approve for replacement in some claims have followed through without any problem. Feel like I can trust and have a peaceful mind. The technicians dispatched sometimes were not up to my expectations though. In one case the issue could not be completely fixed and I have to find a different service provider myself after getting approval. In another case the technician seemed overpriced and I ended up having to find a different service provider or replacing with a new unit with limited approval amount for reimbursement. Hope they could have better terms with their service vendor partners and provide better values in the future.

I worked with Zachary and he was super nice. I felt as if he truly cared about my situation with Sears. I signed both of my houses and the rate is far better than Sears. I'm hoping that they are better than Sears if I ever have need to use your services. I'm disabled and felt as if Zachary truly cared about us. Select even has free roof leak coverage and I was able to secure freon coverage as well. I wish that you had A/C maintenance at least once a year. It would be a plus so that keeping our A/C is kept working so no issues arise from lack of yearly service. The cost of routine maintenance can be high.

He helped me understand the extended year option plans and calculated the savings I would realize. I look forward to having coverage thanks to him. It seems we were given the best rate for platinum care and he also gave us free roof leak coverage. I had questions about adding options to my new contract # **. All my questions were answered in a professional manner. I did add the lighting and plumbing fixtures option. I am very pleased with how everything has been handled for a new contract. (I had a contract with another company for many years, but am cancelling that because I have not been happy with their service.) I would be glad to recommend this company to others.

Words cannot express how disappointed I am with Select Home Warranty. They have left me without heat in my home for almost 2 weeks in 30-40 degree weather. I spoke with numerous representatives and department supervisors. All representatives had thick accents and have been difficult to communicate with. They have sent me the contact information for 3 technicians and none of them have been able to provide me with service. When I called Select, they told me to find my own technician, but they couldn’t guarantee they would be able to reimburse me for the work. Their customer service and work is appalling. I would NOT recommend them to any homeowners.

This service was exactly what I was looking for at a great price. Getting a warranty that was able to cover all of the appliances and major systems in my house was simple and affordable. Customer service was great and I was able to set up my policy with ease. Would definitely recommend to people going through the same process and looking for a solid home warranty for their home. Zachary ** contacted me before I had a chance to complete the transaction online. I am disappointed with my current home warranty company and I am looking froward to working with someone new. Zachary answered all my questions and sold me a 5 year policy, plus a free 6th year to extend my savings and reduce my call out fees. I am optimistic that the service I received today will be the same service I receive, if I do have a claim. Although I spent more today than I wanted to, I feel the long term savings will be worth it.

The salesperson that I worked with took the time to explain various options that are available and did not pressure me into buying something that I am not interested. He understood my requirements and proactively did some work before I called him back. He also clearly explained the next step. The sales representative was really helpful, courteous and knowledgeable. I was shopping for a good deal and spoke to several other warranty companies. I never got a quote that is close to the one that I got from Select Home Warranty.

The Rep seems to be nice and helpful. The Policy seem like it will cover what I need. I had other home warranty coverages before this company and they didn’t cover what I needed. Seem like a good move. The Rep was able to lower my payment and have a good SERVICE CALL FEE of $45. Hopefully I can have a long relationship with Select Home Warranty. In the future, I wouldn’t mind referring this service to family and/or friends.

I received a better yearly offer than Home Warranty of America was offering. The service rep helped explain things and my payment options and was somewhat pushy trying to get me to sign up for more years in advance, however I still have not received my contract after 2 emails and a phone call. So hope they come through soon. The coverage appears to be better, will see if it is the first time I call to use it. Not happy with current company that I have used.

I had a renewal with another company that seemed a bit too much for too little, so I did some shopping around. I am a new customer with Select Home Warranty and I must say, the onboarding process was very easy and honest from website to sale. I made an easy form request online, they called me in 90 seconds. I confirmed with the sales agent that they aren't specific what A/C unit you have or what parts it has. Everything is covered in my plan, and it's a great peace of mind to have everything protected for a competitively low price.

I have experienced that with rates increasing on so many different things. I did not know anything like this existed until my grandmother mentioned it to me yesterday & I started checking into it... This company has enough fine print to fill an entire book. Nothing is covered. My neighbor had the same issue with their water heater and American Home Shield warranty replaced their water heater. Select only covers $150 on heating and cooling items! 1 month later, I paid out of pocket for a new one and I am still waiting to be reimbursed my pathetic $150. The water heater cost $900! The next day, my AC was dripping from the overflow pipe. THEY DON'T COVER THAT EITHER! More out of pocket. AND, I can't cancel until they mail the check, which they keep pushing back the date. So, they want to bill me another month. THIS COMPANY IS A SHAM.

Easy process. Knowledgeable employees. It covered what I needed the sprinklers, the dryer, the refrigerator, the oven, the washer, the fans. It didn't take long to do the process. We have looked through a bunch of policies and none of them met our expectations. Select hopefully will meet our expectations. If something breaks I hope it gets fixed quick. I like the fact that I got 3 months free. I hope when I need something fixed it will get fixed quickly. I selected Select Home Warranty because of all the reviews.

I am a senior citizen with limited income. I have a home warranty for my condo with another company that I had been happy with but it became too expensive. I researched online and contacted Select Home Warranty. I spoke with Abraham. Abraham was courteous and took time to answer all my questions and address my concerns about cost. He assured me I would have the same coverage and recommended a couple different options which would keep costs affordable. I chose a three year plan I was able to pay for up front that was exactly what I was looking for. I felt very comfortable talking with Abraham and did not feel pressured in any way. I recommend contacting Select Home Warranty for your home.

Ron was very polite and helped me to resolve the issue I had. In my initial policy was stipulated that my service charge would be $125, something that was not disclosed at that time. Going back to your website I saw that you advertise your service charge at $60, something that didn't show when I bought your policy. Ron changed that reducing my service charge to $60. I really appreciate his help and the saving.

I didn't receive a copy of my policy until today (10-23-2018) even though I purchased the policy on 8/16/2018. I did not receive any notifications until I started looking into the policy today. I am quite disappointed currently. I hope if I need to use the policy that it is easier than getting a copy. If you could have a customer service rep contact me to discuss this problem in greater detail, I would appreciate it.

Recently I had a claim with Select Home Warranty for a washing machine for a repair. The repair company that was sent out for the repair/consolation first showed up two hours after the 4-hour window they were supposed to be at my home so I sat at home for 6 hours waiting for the person to arrive with no phone call or information on being late. After the diagnosis was completed the technician was unable to supply a receipt for the work being done at that time and requested the $100 claim visit be paid in cash. The service technician spoke very limited English and we were only informed it was broken and don't use. At the time did not seem to be legitimate as we always receive a receipt when paying or what was the repair needed or proof of the visit.
After addressing this issue with Select Home Warranty they let us know that we will have a reply in 48 hours of what would be the outcome of our claim which is standard operational. Just received the notification that they will reimburse us $125 for the machine to either be repaired or replaced. Still have not gotten what is needed to repair the machine just was told it was broken from the repair company.
My wife spoke with a supervisor at Select Home Warranty who just stated that when they put the information into the computer with the serial number that they would only pay $125 for the replacement and we would need to purchase send in the receipt to receive payment. Did not show any empathy towards the issue and really did not want to discuss any further. Informed the supervisor we will inform as many people possible of this issue so it doesn't happen to someone else. To think that my washing machine is only truly worth $25 is truly unrealistic. To me it is not worth having a home warranty company like this. It would be better to save my money on costly repairs and purchase manufacture warranty.

Dryer not heating. Response was rapid. When we located a repairman he fixed it professionally and accurately, I couldn’t have been any more pleased with the work and professional action that my appliance was treated with. The value was great I am very pleased. The warranty is a great option for insuring your home is maintained at all times with efficient and effective coverage no matter what issue you are having in any part of your home. I feel overall the investment is well worth it for optimum protection of your home.

Was originally with AHS (American Home Shield) that got too expensive to afford. Plus the vendors AHS sent out were not reliable or never seemed to get to our residence on time if at all. You offer more coverage on a friendlier budget. Plus now you offer roof repair which is a plus. Your deductible stayed at $45 per service visit versus $75. You also offer three (3) different plans to choose which is a very nice feature.

I called about enrollment information and to check coverage. The representative I spoke with was polite and helpful. He was able to offer a further discount above the advertised online discount. I have not received the plan coverage info yet so we will see about that, but the call went well. He answered all of my questions and seemed to be very knowledgeable. I had a home warranty when I first bought the house that did not cover my area. I am hopeful this will all work out. I was assured a full refund if it does not meet my expectations.

Jeff did a very good job of explaining the warranty and what would be covered and what would not. I have some brand new items that are covered under the manufacturer's warranty so don't need coverage for them. He also made sure I understood the process involved in filing a claim. He really wanted to make sure that I got the coverage that was best for me. I feel that I did get that coverage.

I was online wanting to buy home warrant but had a lot of Questions. My phone rang and it was a customer rep by the name of Allan ** from Fl. He answer all my questions, help me set up my plan and now I am covered and happy. Thank you Allan. I will recommend Select Home Warranty to my friends. The price is right too one that I can afford. Selected Home is the way to go when you need your home, heating and cooling, also appliances fixed.

They were fast to respond, easy to get going. I was able to get everything set up in a single phone call. Exactly what I needed during the busy time of buying a home. I was able to get my sprinkler system and the second kitchen also included in the warranty for a small fee. I have not had to file a claim, but I am sure that process will be smooth if it is ever needed. My new home is a large ranch with 2 kitchens, jacuzzi tub, 2 and 1/2 car garage, 4 bathrooms, 3 bedrooms, 1 office, large finished basement with entertainment area. I could not have imagined buying a house without protecting it under the Select Home Warranty.

I found Jeff to be very cordial and very knowledgeable. He took his time and explained every option to me. He answered all of my questions and he also explained certain coverages that I wasn't sure about. After mentioning to him that we had a bad experience with another home warranty company, he assured me that Select Home Warranty would not treat us as the other company did. He also explained about the transferable policy in the even we were to sell our home or purchase another home. I hope when my husband looks over the policy he will be in agreement with me and that he will find the cost very reasonable.

I'm going through a divorce and needed a little extra reassurance for large household expenses and repairs. The signup process was affordable and the policy easy to understand. There were willing to work with me on draft dates and explaining coverage. While I haven't had to use their services the reviews elsewhere have get positive and that provides me with peace of mind. Agent we spoken was knowledgeable and very helpful. He guided and explained the policy and answered all our questions. Hope the service will be same when we had any claims. For now it seems everything is ok. I explained about my HVAC and splits in basement. They said all of them will be covered and it's so nice of them. Agent informed us 45 will be the service fee for each claim and it is the cheapest in the market.

Every time I call, I am greeted with the utmost respect, and the customer service is awesome. I haven't had a chance to file a claim yet, because I have a thirty day waiting period. But that's cool. Kevin, my salesperson, was helpful and informative. He answered all the questions we had and helped us expedite the policy start date to coincide with the closing date of our home. Run! After they get your money, they don't care about the service. It took 10 days for them to review our AC claim and they denied it! Saying it wasn't covered in the contract! We had to pay for the repair out of pocket. We have 2 other claims that took long to be review and the same thing. They said it wasn't approved. When initially we got the most expensive coverage and salesperson ensure we were covered. They lie, we canceled our policy. We will never go back with these people.

I just bought a home warranty today. Because of Kevin's great service. I signed up after having a terrible experience the night before with another person. Because of the other person's rudeness and attitude, I had sworn to never do business with this company. Because of Kevin's professionalism, he changed my mind with his knowledge of the product and concern for his company and their reputation. I would recommend this company and plan on doing more business with them in the future.

I went with reputation as rated by previous customers. I have not received my policy although payment has been deducted from my account. Very helpful when making decision on purchasing a warranty. Not too pushy either. Mark did a great job explaining the different levels, prices, deductibles etc; I have purchased other home warranties for peace of mind. I won't go into their names here but they were not very helpful when I did need them and found different ways to not cover a repair. Hopefully I won't run into the same thing here if I need it.

David explained all of the possible choices for me to choose, I selected for two years. I think, this is the best value for the money spent, coverage is 2 years and 4 months. Agent was very knowledgeable. Very willing to help. He understood our needs. He was willing to work with us to get this contract. He explained all offers and how we could get the best option for our new home. We have looked at other home warranty. We have heard nothing but great things about Select Home Warranty. Jonathan was very persistent on how he wanted us to get the best price for us. He explained in detail all the benefits of becoming a Select Home Warranty customer and also explained in detail the benefits of extending the warranty to three years to get a better rate and lock in the price for the life of the policy and he also told us that if at any time we were not satisfied we could cancel without any issues and would be refunded for any unused portion of the policy we have not used. Very pleased with the information he provided us.

My heating failed, I called Select Home Warranty. I had to wait for a couple of days for the company to find a technician. As they could not find one after two days, I was allowed to call a technician on my own. The diagnosis was established, all the documentation that was required was submitted and the claim was approved. I paid for the repair and I am in the process of submitting the invoice for the claim.

Salesperson Adam **. He is very helpful in my purchase. Very friendly and knowledgeable. It has been a great experience to communicate with him. He knows what the customer wants. The property is located at Maple Glen, PA, single family house. I need home warranty in case something needs to be fixed. I will like to do the business again with Select Home Warranty again. Johnathon was helpful in explaining the coverage. He explained all of the coverages included in the Platinum Plan. We also talked about the cost of a visit. We already have warranty coverage on many of the major appliances. Most of hem expire on 2019 thru 2021. We also have coverage on our electrical system thru a company jointly with our electrical company Arizona Public System. It makes sense to purchase coverage on all systems under one plan. We have always purchased warranties on most electrical when purchased and this plan appears to be the correct way to go.

Quick and easy set up customer service was very helpful. Wait time was quick. Received email conformation right away. New policy so I don't know yet about the actual plan and how quick they will be to send someone out or if they will honestly replace item or do repair correctly.

Jeff was very helpful in explaining the options that were available to us through Select Home Warranty. He also helped us find the most cost effective plan and discounts that helped with the cost. Jeff addressed our concerns about response times for being able to talk to a human being when we needed to make a claim. We had a bad experience with another company and were very skeptical that SHW would be any different. The customer service representative was helpful and efficient. They addressed my questions. There was about a 48 hour+ delay in receiving the email from the resolution team which was longer than was quoted for a response - quoted response time of 24 hours. I'm not as happy with the coverage. When I have at $330 garbage disposal that is only a year old, I'm shocked the reimbursement value for me to get a new one is only $75. That isn't replacing at a comparable value as you will get with other home warranty companies.

My mother in law has been without heat for over a month and they keep telling her they are sending someone out and time comes and no one comes and then we call and they say, "We have no openings in your area", so after a month of no heat my mother in law, sister in law and brother in law that are all disabled. We live in Michigan. The temp outside is under 30 and nothing is being done.

This is the worst company I have ever had to work with. Beware of their contracts, they are not clear in what is covered. The contract body is a general contract. We purchased a Gold plan which covered Plumbing System. When our drain clogged, we called for a claim and were told that clogged drains are not covered under the Gold plan. But paragraph 6.3.2. of our contact: Plumbing Stoppages states that a clogged drain is covered. I was told that this paragraph was not included in my contract as I have the Gold plan which only covers the system, not the drain. But the contract did not indicate that some of the paragraphs in my contract are excluded from my contract. If you choose to do business with this company, which I do not recommend, then make sure you are clear on what is covered and what is not covered. We paid a lot of money for which we have to battle for every claim. And believe me you will not win against them.

Getting claims from *Select Home Warranty is like Hell job to call every time and follow up for small stuff. For my heater check, their service provider never responded and I did with own mechanic and submitted claim as informed, again full of mail regarding amount paid. Finally I sent the invoice all approved and got an email to sign docs, and it's done, till today [no reply from them, so, I called them today, said, "Sorry for the delay, we submitted your claim again." [All took one month.] FYI- claim amount: $45. Please do the needful to provide good customer service.

Called and asked questions about coverage before I signed up. Got basic service. Was assured that basic would cover AC, heat and appliances. Was offered upgrade to cover heated saltwater pool, sauna, wine fridge, 2 freezer, 2 fridge, hot tub, etc. All of which I don't have. What they did not say is ac coil is not covered unless you buy the up grade. Well my AC went out. Claim was denied within 2 minutes. We don't cover that. They also say they send local people. That's also a lie. There are a good number of highly rated good HAVC people around here. They go 60 to 70 miles out to find someone with a bad reputation to send out that puts you at the bottom of their list because you are way out of their service area.
Buyer beware. This company has so many loopholes to get out of coverage. And yes we dealt with the company they wanted to send out 2 yrs ago over a furnace repair. They left us for almost 2 months without heat. When they finally got the tech on the phone to do the paperwork and asked why he didn't turn it in on time. He said he was to busy and didn't see what the big deal was as we were so far out. I have a handicap husband that is wheelchair bound. So from early Oct to late Nov no heat.

When I purchased my Select Home Warranty at the beginning of the year, I was told that my home warranty purchase included one free service call. When it came time to make a claim, not only was the process NOT hassle-free, there was no record of my one free service call. First, my claim was almost not approved because I didn't have a 2-year record of having changed the air-conditioning filter on a house I had just purchased. I was told to get it from the previous owner, who was dead when I purchased the house.
After a week suffering in the Texas heat, the claim was finally approved. I was then told to pay the fee and I would be reimbursed. Five months later, I was still fighting for my reimbursement, which I was told today I will NOT get - a determination made more than 2 months ago that no one bothered to share with me. Supposedly, my NEXT service call is free. We'll see; they haven't sent it in writing. Meanwhile, I get an email every day inviting me to purchase a Select Home Warranty (which I already have) for "NO-hassle Coverage." Don't believe it! Get everything in writing and read the policy before you pay because you can't trust what you're told by this company's phone representatives. With 6 months left on my policy, I cannot say today that I am anxious to renew.

The experience obtaining the latest policy was great and the customer service department has always been receptive to any issues or service orders we've needed in the past. I believe Select Home Warranty is a great value when compared to others out there. I haven't actually used the service yet, but signing up was fast and straightforward. The representative was able to answer all of my questions about coverage, costs, and the process of making a claim. I chose Select because they were offering a better deal than their competitors and unlike other home warranties they included roof leak service. My only complaint was the multiple attempts to upsell me on a longer term in spite of my refusal. However, at least right now it seems like a good deal.

It took over a week to get the work order to the approve technician who stated he did not like to work with Select Home Warranty because he had issues in the past getting reimbursement for work completed with the company. Once he did evaluate the issue it took several days and at least 6-7 phone calls to get the claim approved. As of today I have an approval email but do not know how long it will take to get reimbursed.

We own a LG Lfx31945st/05 French Door Refrigerator that we bought in July 2013 when we moved in to our new home (paid around $3,000). It has been functioning perfectly ever since until September 19, 2018. We have a Select Home Warranty to cover our appliances (Policy # removed for security) that we renewed in February 2018 for $1,500. Our home is occupied by our tenant Mr. ** and we manage our property through ** Property Management. We have moved to India for work-related reasons.
Below is a timeline of how our problem with Select Home unfolded: 9/19/2018 - our tenant reported that our refrigerator is not working. We provided our Property Management team the details of our Select Home warranty and requested them to get in touch with Select Home. 9/20/2018: Our Property management Team contacted Select Home and our claim was reported on 9/20/2018 (Select Home email to @.edu). Our Property management team also requested their usual contractor Atlanta City Appliance to provide an estimate.
9/21/2018: Select Home emailed our service to be assigned to All Appliances Repair Install who said they do not service our area. Our Property Management team contacted Select Home who provided another appliance repair company. Upon contacting them, they also said that they do not service the area. 9/22/2018: Received another email from Select Home giving us a pre-authorized limit of $100 to use our contractor to repair the fridge. We now know that it costs $960 to repair the fridge and we need Select Home's approval to proceed.
9/22/2018: Our Property Management team requested their usual contractor Atlanta City Appliance to send their estimate to Select Home. 9/24/2018: Property management team again sent an estimate from their contractor Atlanta City Appliance Repair to Select Home along with Pictures. 9/25/2018: Ticket Number ** was created by Select Home and an email sent to Gene. Select Home did not contact us and let us know the status of the ticket anytime after it was created.
9/27/2018: Out of the blue, Fix It Right, a contractor from Select Home contacted and requested to fix an appointment. 9/29/2018: Fix It right came and looked at the refrigerator. 10/01/2018: Another ticket has been created by Select Home - Ticket Number **. This is regarding our tenant's invoice showing the cost of living without a fridge for more than 10 days ($402).
10/02/2018: An email from BA Jason asking for total cost of repairs - we have not received anything in writing from Fix It Right and we believe as Select Home's contractor, Fix It Right would have contacted and provided the information to Select Home directly. 10/02/2018: Gene contacted Fix it Right who said they are waiting on parts to be delivered and Gene added it to the comments on the claim ticket **. 10/03/2018 -10/10/2018 - no updates from Select Home. 10/11 - We were asked to send the invoice sent by tenant to show their costs associated with the fridge not being repaired. 10/13 - Gene sent the information requested to Select Home and received a receipt of the email from BA Mark. Gene also requested that Select Home get the fridge repaired as it's more than 3 weeks now (email).
10/15 - Received a call from Fix It Right about our fridge, but vague as to when they are available. They have not set up an appointment with us as of 10/16/2018. 10/16/2018: Gene and I (**) had a conference call with your representative around 10 am and she said that as per section 8 in your terms and conditions, Select will pay $350 for replacing the fridge and an additional $50 for the tenant's invoice. For the first time, we hear from her that your contractor said that the refrigerator is not repairable and a replacement cost of $350 will be provided. We requested that we need to talk to the supervisor and she said the supervisor will call us in an hour or two and we haven't received a call - it's been over 2.5 hours now.
Timing of the Claim: As per Select Home Warranty's terms and conditions (on website), in section 5.4, quoted "The Independent Service Technician will be instructed to provide repair of the appliance or system within two (2) days during normal business hours and four(4) days on weekends and holidays following submission of the claim.".
We reported our fridge not working and our claim was in Select Home's system on 9/20/2018. The Independent Service Technician did not come to look at the faulty appliance until 9/29/2018 - more than a week after we reported the claim. This clearly violated section 5.4 of Select Home's terms and conditions. Section 8 - your response is not fair: "The refrigerator is an LG French Door model that has a current price of over $3000 (LG's website). Agreed that it would have depreciated, it is not reasonable to say that $350 is all it is needed to replace a refrigerator that costs more than $3000 to buy as new. We do not believe that the fridge has to be replaced at this point (considering that 1) it is a high-end LG model; 2) it is just 5 years and 2 months old and; 3) is in a great condition other than the parts that need to be replaced)."
We would like Select Home to look into our claim again and provide immediate resolution to it by sending a contractor to fix it or allow our Property Management company's contractor who provided an estimate of $960 to repair the fridge. Ticket ** (tenant invoice): Granted that it is not in your policy document and you are not obliged to pay, imagine a family with two small children living without a refrigerator for 1 whole month - the refrigerator could have been repaired if Select Home has looked at the contractor's quote that we provided on 9/25. There was one whole week between 10/3-10/10 when we did not hear back from Select Home about our claim at all. All this is wasted time that could have been avoided. So, we sincerely request Select Home to look into our tenant's invoice and make appropriate monetary compensation as a sign of Good Will.

Currently, my family is covered by Old Republic with a plan which was purchased by the Seller of our home. Old Republic decided to raise our rate and service call fee, so we decided to start shopping around. Select Home Warranty has better user reviews online, so we decided to give them a call and see how their rates would compare to Old Republic.
First, the sales representative, Daniel, was very helpful. He answered questions regarding terms & conditions (what is covered), costs, and limitations. He followed up when we asked for more time to evaluate, but wasn't constantly spamming our phone. The plan itself is comparable to other home warranty plans in regards to coverage and limitations, so we were very pleased in that regard. In addition, the coverage dates were excellent as first time customers with Select, so that was another bonus. Overall, we have been very happy with the purchase experience. While I can't yet speak to the service quality *during* service, this has been positive so far, and I'd recommend to others.

Clog in sewer line - Customer service was great from both Select Warranty and the contractor that they sent out but Select had to be called again to send out second plumber for the first plumber did not have the proper snake machine. The clog it seems was well over the over 75 ft. from the house and we needed a 100 ft snake machine to clear the stoppage. This is not the first time I have had to call Select warranty. They have do me right this far.

When I called Select Home Warranty, the salesperson was very slick, with I can get you this and save you much money etc. So I purchased a warranty. However, when I put in my first claim, I was directed to read the following paragraph: "10.1 For appliances (non-heating or cooling) in the first three months a $150 repair/replacement allowance will be paid to the customer. This repair/replacement allowance will increase to $500 after the first three months of coverage. For additional coverage options in the first three months a $150 repair/replacement allowance will be paid to the customer. This repair/replacement allowance will increase to $400 after the first three months of coverage. In the event a part is not available, Select's responsibility is to reimburse for the value of the part up to the policy limits.
If Freon coverage is selected as an option the limit is $150 for the first 3 months of coverage and $250 for the remainder of the contract. Furthermore you agree that during the first 30 days of coverage, no coverage will be provided for replacement of entire systems or appliances of evaporator coils, condenser coils. Compressors, control boards, motors of any kind." So be careful of the first 3 months (25% of the annual coverage!!!!

These are facts only, I purchase a home warranty for a house I purchased recently. I have lived in the house for only a year and a half and had the a/c go out and called for repair. If I couldn’t produce 3 years maintenance records they would only pay $150.00 total and I had to pay the repair first then they would send the $150.00. I canceled the service and they informed me a $75.00 cancellation fee was be deducted from my prorated refund, which I was never informed of upon purchasing the Warranty. Since all calls are reported it’s all verifiable.
They were supposed to send out said refund within 14-30 days, at 30 days no refund and I contacted them again. They said now I had to wait for another refund check to be sent but that might take some time. Again recorded phone call. I can’t produce records I don't have because I didn’t own the house. I just want my money back and the $75.00 fee they are trying to impose. I do not recommend this company at all. They have been untrustworthy, and elusive when it comes to communication about my refund. They act as if this is standard practice and I will not ever purchase from them again, or any of my friends and family members.

Because I have not heard from Select (email, snail mail, or otherwise) regarding my renewal, Sol ** was able to give me last year's Home Warranty Rate. He, also, confirmed for me that my concern about Select only paying a minimum amount on any major appliance (i.e., a/c, heating unit). He said they will pay a maximum of $15,000 on any major appliances or damages. He explained how they would begin with the amount shown for replacement/repair of the unit, then pull from other sources to pay (in full) for the unit/appliance. This was my only hold-back on renewing with Select, but after his explanation, I decided to renew. Why don't you encourage ALL agents to explain your policy this way? You would over-loaded with customers! I certainly hope Select backs-up Sol and holds-up their end of this agreement.

I am New to Select Home Warranty. The water line and garage disposal issue is the first claim processed with the warranty company. I called in waterline and garbage disposal issue and each issue was assigned a claim #. The waterline issue was a claim # and the garbage diposal was also issue a claim #. After back and forth calls between the assigned plumbing company and the Select Home Warranty the garbage disposal claim was resolved within two weeks.

Very dissatisfied customer. My dryer no longer is heating. It's a cheap part and my son can fix it. No problem, it's not rocket science... I bought this insurance so he wouldn't have to fix my appliances any longer. After over a week with no dryer, you decide to email me that my dryer isn't worth fixing cause it cost more to fix than it's worth. So I'm supposed to have your repair company come fix my dryer and pay him over $125 out of my own money, send you the receipt then you will send me a check for $125 and I'm to pay the repairman out of my pocket the difference between his fee he is charging and the $125 your fraudulent warranty/insurance company is willing to pay. This is not what I thought I signed up for but I'm sure that's a common problem with your other customers as well.
I would like you to send me the check for $125 so I can purchase the part and pay my son to fix it, he's much cheaper than some overpriced repair service company that people call when they have no mechanical skills to fix something as simple as this themselves. Generally, those people have all kinds of money to pay other people to fix their appliances or they just go buy new ones and none of those people buy fraudulent appliance warranty plans like this because it's a waste of their money cause they have money to go buy new appliances anytime they feel like it. People like me without all that money buy scam warranty plans for their appliances such as this, I may as well just threw the money I paid for this policy out the window, just as effective... An agent called me after I submitted an interest online. He walked me through the process of getting enrolled in a plan. There was a plan to fit anyone's budget and he was very helpful in assisting me to find what was best for my own needs. Also, there are perks for buying multiple months at one time, which is a nice bonus. By picking one of these plans, I saved money and received some free months. I am hoping the customer service continues to be this good!

My phone call with Sam, who represented Select Home Warranty, was very informational. He answered all my questions and I believe he got me the best deal he could offer. He was very efficient and my time on the phone was fairly quick and simple. No waste of time which was very important since I was at work. I received an email immediately with my contract attached. Before I could finish filling out the form online, the sales agent was already calling me to assist me. I felt he had a friendly voice and took the information I provided in a timely manner. The customer service agent answered all of my questions and addressed any concerns I may have had. He had a professional mannerism and went through the package with me. I found that the process of finding a home warranty was a bit tedious. I selected Select Home Warranty due to their cost efficiency. I have had American Home Shield for years and hope that this service will be much better. I have not used the service to date but am confident that I will not have any issues when the time of need arrives. We placed a claim on our policy to repair our gas range. The gas at the burners and in the oven both are low flame and will not adjust. We first contacted the gas company and had them check gas pressure to the house. Everything checked out okay. We contacted Select Home a month ago concerning this problem. We first were given the name of a repair contractor. When they didn't call us, we called them and they told us they do not do business with Select Home Warranty because they do not pay their claims and that they informed Select that they would not take the assignment.
We then called Select and they said "Dispatch" was extremely busy and would contact us soon. A week went past -- no news. We emailed them several times and called them. Each time we were given an excuse. However we were told we could contact someone and payout the whole repair. Basically, then they would pay whatever they decided to pay. We told them we did not want to do their work for them and that we had purchased a home warranty so we could get repairs done if required. This has been quite an ordeal with no resolution in sight. We asked for a refund of the premium and they will not comment. I would not recommend Select Home Warranty. It is simply not a viable company.

This product is a comprehensive warranty, and the process of enrolling was very easy and the service to enroll was excellent. I just signed up for the service. It sounds great. Sam was a great representative. He answered all of my questions and explained everything that I asked about. I have never had a home warranty contract before so I am a little nervous. Hopefully this will give me peace of mind if anything breaks. The pricing sounds fair. I know the cost of repairing things and replacing things can get expensive. I recently spent $150.00 to have a broken wire fixed. My service call charge is going to be less than a AC service call plus the repair will be covered.

After signing up for a Select Home Warranty I was told I should have a copy of the Contract sent to me in my email within two hours. It did not arrive, so that's why I called. The rep I spoke with located my account and sent the Agreement to me. I received it within 3 minutes. Now that I have the Agreement I will be able to see what is covered and what is not.

I would look at Select Home Warranty - SHW the company with a close scrutiny for your local area. I would do that by demanding/mandating a list of their Network of Technicians and Repair Specialists in your specific area and or zip code. That should be the first step before you commit or sign your contract with Select Home Warranty company on any kind of policies.
I am a previous customer with Select Home Warranty and they have not only harassed me on my first claim for 11 days, but abruptly decided to cancel it without my authorization or signature. Their call center and claim center efficiency and effectiveness is zero at best. Maybe Select Home Warranty is good for customers in US zip codes where labor rates are lower tax-free i.e. Texas, Florida, Arizona, New Mexico, Las Vegas etc. - but if you are in more expensive states/areas like Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Illinois, Ohio etc. good luck with your choice.
Select Home Warranty employees have the ability and can edit your customer profile, preferences and even cancel your contract with you the customer without any written, email or phone authorization in any form. Such is the level of internal hacking their internal system or people are capable of doing it. And above all if you keep questioning them and ask for documentation or in writing anything, they will simply block your phone number so that you cannot communicate or engage with Select Home Warranty further in terms of your policy. At which point your money is essentially gone and you are in a limbo situation. And that is very scary, unlawful and outright an illegal business and corporate practice by means nationally and internationally. They are not even scared of BBB - Better Business Bureau or any US agencies to do anything against them. Such is the level of insanity with Select Home Warranty as a company.
So before you as a customer consider a new home warranty company option - whether as a first time customer, or a customer who is moving for a better rate with these guys or even existing customer - please, please, please do your homework, get some questions/first steps cleared in writing with Select Home Warranty folks. In case you are an existing customer and have not encountered, you are in for a future treat here with these SHW folks! One of my other family members who is also a Select Home Warranty Customer at this moment is also going thru a very harassing treatment that is beyond comprehensible. So PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE BE AWARE OF THIS COMPANY Select Home Warranty -- before you ink a contract or even commit your money over the phone. Thanks.

It was a pleasure speaking with the sales rep. He was able to beat a competitor's price, he promptly responded via email once I requested and quote and also followed up via phone. He realized that my time was important and got me signed up quickly and with friendly service. I have had a plan the last year and wanted to have a plan that was comparable. He was able to match me with a plan that would suit my needs as well as add extra benefits and with a couple free months, it is a great value, will be interested to see how well it works when I actually need to use it.

Called Select Home Warranty as my microwave stopped working without any reasons. After submitting the claim online, I was called back within hours. After explaining the issue, I was advised that they would not fix the unit and would instead offer money toward replacement due it not being cost effective to repair my then 10 year old microwave. Two days later I received an email indicating that the were going to reimburse me $95.00. The new one cost $315.00. The reimbursement claim has been submitted.

I have an AC unit that is 21 years old and is in need of replacement before winter arrives. My professional inspection/service team with Hiller company strongly advises replacement of the 21 year old unit because the heating pump has dry rotted wiring and possible first use of this unit to heat my home will burn my house down. Select Home Warranty has denied this claim 3 times, with the explanation my professional servicing company said it was improperly installed.
Anyone with any common sense knows that if this unit installed 21 years ago, and that is LONG passed its life expectancy would know it could not have been improperly installed. This is a stall tactic and I will be consulting an attorney. Use of this unit is a fire hazard, my house will catch on fire, possible loss of life and I will sue Select Home Warranty. And if this review is not published just because I do not recommend this company because of its poor practice of paying a high dollar replacement I would include that in my complaint as well.
Thus far my experience with Select Home has not been a positive one, customer service seems to read from a script and calls I believe are out of the country and not in New Jersey. Difficult to understand and I do not believe they grasp what is being told to them, because of the language barrier they do not understand or can make sense of the gravity of the situation. Bottom line, look for another home warranty company, it may be worth spending a few dollars extra to have them there to hold up their end of the contract when you really need it.
Updated on 10/13/2018: I've had a consult with an attorney involved for breach of contact. My AC unit is 21 years old, wiring for the heat pump of course is old and corroded, dry rotted , duct work is in bad shape. Submitted my claim, have a policy showing ac is covered to include ductwork and wiring. DENIED. They say it was install improperly. Illogically. This unit has ran FOR 21 YEARS! I mentioned it was also leaking freon, according to "Jane" at extension **, today leaks are not covered either.
My question is what would be covered under REPLACING AN AC UNIT 21 YEARS OLD! All they want to talk about now that I have left a bad review is "ASSISTING ME WITH THE CANCELLATION OF MY POLICY" Which was all their idea. They did however offer to fix one of my other NEW appliances that I don't have warranty on by Select Home. I've not been kind about this. You pay your premiums and expect them to keep their promise in the contract. My appt. with an Atty. is Monday Oct 15 2018. This lawsuit will be for more than the estimated cost of the ac unit. Do not buy into to this scam. I've never received a detailed contract with any exclusions but do have proof of which plan I chose to cover. NO EXCLUSIONS ARE LISTED. I notice my last review has not been posted here either.

They reassure you that you have coverage for the emergency when you submit a claim. It takes 3+ days to send someone out to your home. They find out exactly what's needed & then they deny your claim. This has happened twice, each time my family was abandoned by this company. When you finally speak to a supervisor, nothing is resolved. They don't try to help the issue and when you cancel the services the guy read a script & isn't able to give a solid answer. Altogether I feel like I have been scammed. I have babysat this company and it's very stressful to keep having to call because they don't communicate properly. Signing up for this home warranty was my worst mistake.

Do not purchase a home warranty from Select Home Warranty. Every time I have emailed them they respond with a number to call. It comes across to me that they want nothing in writing. I waited a week for someone to come look at my air conditioner. They hardly covered anything and I was out $180. Two weeks after that my air conditioner stopped working again. This time it's going to cost about $1900 to fix and they denied this claim as well. Avoid this company. Total waste of money. I will be purchasing a home warranty from another company 3 or 4 months before mine expires with them. I will chalk this up to an expensive learning experience and thoroughly check into the next one I decide to go with. Right now my goal is to warn everybody I can about them so they do not have the same experience.

He was very helpful and even helped me get a cheaper price. The service call fee is cheaper than other companies that I looked at and the monthly charge is also. After comparing features of several other companies online, I called Select Home Warranty to discuss what they had to offer. My customer service rep made it easy to select the warranty that offered me what I needed at a great value. My current home warranty was about to expire and one of the things I did not like about it was that some of their contractors were not located in my area. When I had a problem with my washer this past year, I had to do without my washing machine for 3 weeks because their tech was not from my local area (I live in a large city). Mr. ** explained to me the policy inclusions and other details. I am not clear what is covered in the roof repairs and plumbing. Does it cover change out of flush system internal parts? I have also declared that all my appliances are one of the highest brands in the market and in future, during the course of the policy anything needing replacement (hope this does not happen) replacement must be of the same or equivalent brand and quality. I hope we never have to use the service, but have the peace of mind knowing that we have the coverage. Price of service call is offset by the services being provided. Being able to transfer to another home or home buyer is another plus. Our home is only two years old and we are the first owners.

I was told when I purchased because of my location I would receive same day service, but once I called a claim in (heat pump not working) I was sent a email giving the tech assign my claim 24 hours to call and make an appointment which did not go over well. So I called them 7 hours after email and was informed they would not be available to come out for 3 days so I cancelled with them and was told I could get someone on my own. I got a call from Bruce ** but asked for a callback today. Today I was contacted by one of your other representatives, Daniel **. He explained to me the three plans you offered and answered questions regarding coverage for each plan. He was most knowledgeable and very friendly and courteous. While I have yet to seek a claim and cannot cite how prompt things will be paid, I can say I used American Home Shield before and I found your prices were better and the deductible was also less as well as the period following any work for a 90 day guarantee whereas American Home shield only covered 30 days.

Representative was a little pushy but after I listen to everything he had to say it all made sense after a while. I have the Platinum contract which I hope will cover everything that needs to be covered in my home. I looked at other warranty websites out there and this one seem to be the best one for me for price and value so hopefully it will not let me down. I know there are a lot of things that can happen in the home and I'm putting all my trust into this home warranty program. Everyone there that I have talked to seem to be very nice and everything goes very well when I am talking to them. Everyone I have talked to their husband very nice and polite when I have talked to them so so far I am very happy with the warranty which will begin next month at the beginning of November. I purchased a home warranty through Select Home Warranty company about June of 2018 and I made a mistake and paid for a whole year in advance, I was told that I could cancel my policy at any time but the guy that sold me the policy never said that there would be a $75 cancellation fee. Not only that. It took them over 40 days to refund the rest of my money. I had two claims and they were both denied, I was told that they did not cover a leaky hot water tank and in the second case they wanted me to pay around $300 for a burner and I told them I could buy a brand new unit for that kind of money.

Agent William ** called me for the information of coverage and price right after I contacted Select via their website. In the conversation he gave me very clear explanation with regard to Select warranty, it was better coverage and less monthly payment compare to my current warranty. He also quickly replied to several my questions promptly via email conversations. Based on that I decided to switch my home warranty company to Select. I'm happy to switch to Select for now and let me see how they handle claims once something happens in the future.

I believe that if a customer is denied a claim (faucet/pipes) that she should be notified if you're not going to send an email so that the customer would not be looking for one or has to call back to find out what happened. Also some of the representative need to be re-trained because I did not have to put in a claim if I knew I was not covered under my policy in which I do not have because I misplaced it and I wouldn't never been waiting for a email. But today was a much better experience even though I had to go through five representative to get this done but hopefully everything works out and that I will be able to get an email before tomorrow since I've been waiting since yesterday because I don't be off work that much and I must work.

We had previously used another home warranty company (not by choice but was selected for us through mortgage company) and were extremely dissatisfied with the customer service. Select was highly ranked and so far their service is wonderful and one hundred percent better than the last home warranty company we used. The ease of signing up and submitting claims online is great and we could not be happier with the switch. We will definitely be Select customers for years to come.

He explained what was needed, how I qualified for things and what my financial options would be. He broke it down by year to help and showed me the great savings it could be. I made a claim for my AC Unit. SHW sent a contractor to my house, who basically told me they had been dealing with them for years, and they were not going to pay for my unit to get fixed or replaced. Well, after 3 additional contractors, and much $ spent out of my own pocket, they were right. Yes I have a Freon leak. Yes, I'm willing to pay that portion of the bill. However, there are many additional things wrong with the unit. I just wanted some help with the repairs. I had to hire my own contractor for second and third opinions, and they still denied the claim. Why make your customer pay additional $ to other contractors if you are going to deny them? They would not meet me not even 1/4 of a way to help me fix my AC Unit. What good is having a home warranty when they will not help you fix your home repairs??? Never again!!!

The Select warranty representative was awesome. His representation was excellent. The customer service was by far the best I have encountered. Saved a lot of money. Appreciate the honesty. Gave me plenty of information, convinced me the right company for me would be Select. First time buyer of the company and hope my service is as good as Jeff claims. This will be my first home I have bought on my own and hope Select will be there when I need them.

I filed an only claim on my leaky roof on July 7, 2018. I followed up with a phone call and was told a local roofer has been dispatched and would call me asap. After 2 days with no call from a roofer I called SHW back and was told I would be contact by the roofer but they could not provide me the number of the roofer that was in their network. After a week I under up finding my own roofer and paid out of pocket. Submitted paper work for a claim that was decline because I didn't wait for their roofer.
I filed a claim on my AC July 19, 2018. I used the online portal. Again waited on a HVAC company to call me but that never happened so I called a company I had used before. They fixed it and I submitted documents to SHW. I was told it was payable in late July and I should get a reimbursement check within 7 days. I called back after 7 days and was told they needed more paperwork, which I provided. This happened again with paperwork runaround. August 24th, 2018 it was confirmed that they had everything and would pay the claim within 30 days.
As I write this it is Oct. 7th. I just got off the phone with SHW and was told their was a problem in the "back office" and it was going to be another 2 weeks. I then let them know I needed to cancel my policy to which the rep asked. "If I can get this reimbursement check to you in the next few days will you keep your policy?" Great way to deal with your policyholder.

I was not aware that I would billed monthly fee already prior to the actual start of my policy. This may in future affect my feelings on the service. For now I will overlook this and give the rating below. Please apply the discount asap! Plus nothing was mentioned about a 200 off + 2 month free. This would influence my recommendation to others if this is not addressed.

My oven on the bottom won't come on. But the top of the oven works. It's a gas oven. And last week my washer stopped spinning but it starts and the water is working. I need a repair person sent out please. I've had no problems with Select Home Warranty yet. But I hope they can fix my appliances. The customer rep was awesome when I signed up. Jeff ** was excellent at what he does for select. I hope that they give him the recognition he deserves.

The staff of Select Warranty are very prompt in responding to your request and they are a very friendly staff. I was able to submit a request for a quote and almost immediately was contacted by a staff member to help me with completing my request. They were able to answer all of the questions that I had. I also secured a good policy and I look forward to working with them through any issues I submit.

I spoke with a team member named Tom **. He was professional, friendly, and personable. He explained why my claim was denied and tried to rectify to the best of his ability but was overridden by his supervisory team. I was ready to cancel. He went to bat for me and bent over backwards to keep my business and he succeeded for now. I give him props for all of his efforts. I will admit though, it is wise to assess the age of your home and covered systems/appliances before expecting them to be covered. It seems home warranties are not meant for older homes or systems.

Within moments of filling out the quote information request page, I received an online text message, e-mail, and telephone call! I was dissatisfied with previous warranty experience through another company. The SHW representative was patient in listening to my concerns and answering questions. There were some great offers available, but I wanted time to ask my husband and think about it. I had another policy with another company and the price had gotten out of my price range - I reached out to Select Home Warranty and Zachary ** and after phone tag (my fault) I was given a great price and it is so much less than the one I had before and so is the service call charge. Looking forward to same great service when I need it! P.S. The price is so great I am now telling my friends they need to change - why pay more for same coverage???

Contacted Select and actually used my own AC repair company. The process is somewhat tedious considering the customer service is out of the country. Hopefully, I will not need to use again but since I have an Idea of how things work it will go better if there is a next time. AC is working fine now. Hopefully, customer service will be more informative and make things easier. I have another home that has the warranty and hopefully will not need to use but everything will work out.

I pay you every single month~no delays and no excuses. Your job is to provide me with the service that I pay you for. Just to be clear, that service is to provide me with a qualified professional who will fix my problem in a timely manner~no delays and no excuses. Why am I asked to find the professional, refer them to your network, pay them for the service~which you can then refuse to pay? When I broach this with your non-English speaking customer service representatives they become verbally abusive and inform me that I am not listening to them. Why would I want to listen to excuses? You agreed to a service. Follow through on that please.

Great communication. Cheaper rates. Unfortunately since I couldn't afford the 399.00 up front I was not able to get the 2 months for free. My payment will be 1/2 of what I am paying through AHS. Why not be considerate of the people that have to pay month to month and give them the 2 months for free just for changing over from another company such as myself from American Home Shield. The Service fee is cheaper as well. Thank you.

Worked with Mark ** who answered my questions and made me aware of the coverage under the policy and that it was a repair or replace policy. The coverage was pretty extensive so that made me happy. I had a pleasant experience working with Mark. I am happy with the policy plan I chose. I am hoping my experience in using the policy, if necessary, will also be pleasant. This has been the worst investment I've made. My clothes washer machine broke, I called to put in the claim, Select Home Warranty sent a technician who was NOT certified to look at the computer of the machine, only the motor. Per his diagnosis, the motor was broken, however, there's no way for us to know whether or not, the computer is also an issue. After chasing to get an update for 3 weeks, I finally get approved for a minimum of $150 because according to them, the policy is not in full force until 90 days, even though, I have an email from their salesperson confirming the days that it becomes active. Moreover, today I call them to get an update and I'm told that if they send another technician who is fully certified to look at the machine, I will be charged another service fee - granted that the first time, they should have sent a person that is fully certified to do a good job.
Now I'm fighting to get them to increase the approved amount to incorporate the additional service fee as it is their fault for sending someone who is not fully certified to do the job. Their response is that they will have to add to the claim but can't guarantee that I will not be charged. I'm honestly not sure how this company is still in business considering all the terrible reviews they have. I regret paying in cash for this policy and now they refuse to give me a full reimbursement. I'm sure I will have to continue to call them daily until my machine is fixed.
