I was skeptical of these types of companies. Sam made me feel comfortable and answered every question I had. He worked hard to provide with a deal that worked with my budget and I felt good about. I definitely call Sam if I have any questions going forward. I was happy to find coverage that covered almost everything I have in my house and now I have peace of mind going forward that I’m covered. Thanks Sam for all your help.

Originally, I signed up for 1 year. Based on the satisfactory service and the promotional rates, I decided to continue stay with Select Home. The renewal process was easy, and the service rep was helpful. During the first year, I had one service call and that was treated very well by the company. We requested them to send a technician and they did a perfect job. No pain finding a technician or ordering parts, only the co-pay was from my pocket.

Agent representing Select Home Warranty was very helpful with all of my questions and how this warranty worked. Sent via email during our phone call all needed website links so I could also see in writing what he was telling about this warranty. Very friendly and knowledgeable. I compared several different companies and spoke to several agents, with this agent being the easiest to talk to, understand, and follow during our discussions. Plan coverage was exactly what I was looking for with a reasonable service fee.

When I start to search a home warranty service to defend against sudden breakdowns, I notice your company may provide with good plans. I made a quote online and soon got a call from David **. David is helpful and professional. He gave me a lot of information about the coverage and fees. He also provides me a selection of plans with different terms and cost and explained to me with details. I am very satisfied with his service and very happy to choose your system and appliance platinum plan for 3 and half years.

I signed up over the phone with Daniel. I received a $150 promotion for the platinum plan with a reduced service fee for contractors from $75 to $60. I purchased this plan because of the good reviews and look forward to working with them. I hope to be able to come back here and leave a good report if/when we have had need of their services. I live in an old home in Arizona with an old air conditioner and we were worried that without a home warranty we would not be able to cover the cost of a new unit if/when that is ever needed. A/C in Arizona is a necessity.

So far so good. I compared two other home warranty companies. Select Home Warranty has the best deal so I bought a year plan. Well, they gave me Two free months and I am also expecting to get one more month free. I can’t really tell much about it other than that. But we will see. I mean, I always wanted to buy the home warranty but didn’t have a time to look for one I need. I feel so much better and relieved since I know my home will be covered now.

Mr. Sam ** helped me to pick right coverage for my situation. He has offered good discounts and options. I appreciate his help to pick the correct plan for my needs. He has discussed various plans, discounts, additional features, privileges, service fee in detail before I pick my choice. He am impressed with his in depth knowledge in plan coverage and offerings with each plan. It was a nice onboarding experience. Expected to have same experience with service as well.

The signup process was fairly easy and the service rep was helpful. The only negative is that they kept trying to upsell on a longer term contract, so that you would pay the same rate for 5 years. As my previous service went out of business and this company is fairly new and not rated on BBB, I decided to just stick with 1 year and test out their service. I can't comment on the service itself, as I have not had any need for it.

We were with a previous home warranty company, and we had numerous negative experiences. After talking to friends, and researching online, we chose Select Home Warranty. The sign-up process was very quick and easy! The prices were much better than our previous home warranty company, and the coverage options were much more extensive as well. We look forward to using the Select Home Warranty, and we are thankful for the very thorough protection for our home etc.

Was given the option for multiple plans. The representative was thorough and knowledgeable. I was also informed about the senior plan for further savings. I chose Select Home Warranty due to the high ratings I found online. I was also impressed with the low payment of seventy five dollars for the service fee, free two months, and reduced up front payment. It was simple to sign up online and over the phone. No mailings! The yearly low payment was made by credit card simple and easy.

Richard seemed very knowledgeable about the home warranty and offered me a deal that I could not pass up. He was nice without trying to pressure me into buying this. I was impressed with the overall transaction. The product seems to be a great value for the price. The fact that we can call someone 24/7 to report a problem is also very attractive to me and my wife. We are looking forward to see how it will all work out.

I am happy with the price and service that was offered but your salespeople really need to calm down. Even after told him it was a great price and we would use you he was still trying to "close the sale." All I needed to do was speak with my wife to confirm the purchase. (I'm not going to go around spending that type of money without confirming it's something that we both want to go forward with.) I am excited for the services offered though and I look forward to using our policy if/when something breaks.

This is the worst company you can ever contract as a home warranty. First, they take forever to get a technician as nobody want to work for them. So, because nobody wants to work for them, they tell you to hire your one technician and they will be refund you later on. FALSE, DECEIVE. There always have an excuse for the delay getting your money back or worst, they denied the your claim.

I recently started using SHW and have been much happier with them than with another home warranty company I used in the past. Although I have had multiple problems submitting claims online (they said their system is being updated but I had the same problem with my claim not showing up on their end), despite giving me a confirmation on mine, both in November and in January. That said, calling in a claim is a fairly quick and simple process. I also like that SHW gives me the option of choosing my own repair person or using one of theirs. Overall I am happy with my decision to work with SHW. If their online system functioned properly I wouldn't hesitate to give them five stars.

I filed a claim for roof repair. They refereed two company. No one turned up. I contacted the roof repair company. They informed me that Select Home Warranty does not pay them. When I informed Select Home Warranty that the roof repair company did not show up they asked me to get my own technician to get the quote to repair the roof. I did get the quote and sent it to them. They showed the small print that they don't cover the repair. Before you fall for the Select Home Warranty offers like less deductible and two month free when you buy for a year, please read the small print. They have lot of clause how not to cover the breakdown.

Today I had the pleasure to work with Richard to get information on obtaining a home warranty. The service was awesome — I dialed not one phone number number and the call was answered. Richard was excellent, answered all my questions and, in fact, provided ideas that I had not thought about. His professionalism was best in class and within minutes I had a home warranty policy and then received all details moments later. After calls not several other companies and getting transferred many times, only to get voice mail. I was thrilled the moment I called Select Home Warranty.

Updated on 01/30/2019: I signed up on Dec 16, my contract states 37.50 monthly premium. They deducted in advance first month premium from my CC on Dec. 16, then the made two more deductions on Jan. 14 & Jan. 16. I called to ask why two charges in Jan, they never replied.
Original review: My contract clearly states $37.50 per month and $45 per service call. My contract clearly states $45 for a service call. When I requested service on my dishwasher an email was sent to me saying $75 for a service call. When I contacted the call center in some foreign country they just kept passing me along to the next person & to the next person and to the next person and they didn’t resolve anything. I was told to email the contract to info@selecthomewarranty.com. The repair company will not come out unless I agree to give them $75. Additionally my credit card was charged 3 times within the first 30 days for the $37.50 monthly fee.

Sol was informative and extremely helpful! I can already tell that this company values its customers and I'm very much looking forward to being a part of it. This has been something that my wife and I have been discussing getting for some time now, and Select made the process simple and effective. We feel much more secure having put this policy into place. Also, the promotional accommodations were very competitive. They also offered coverage on items that were not something we found across other companies. I looked on the website and promptly received a phone call. The salesman discussed pricing and coverage and threw in some incentives and worked on pricing with me. He talked about coverage and repair times in my area. From what he said this home warranty seems like a better price with more coverage than what we had on our old house with a different company. I had previously been with the same home warranty company for a few years and was growing ever more dissatisfied. In looking, I found Select to have reasonable rates and lower per call rates than many others. I decided to enroll with them, but was not able to make the selection of extra fridge from the online menu. As a result, I initially became frustrated. Upon receiving a call from Abraham **, customer service, he was able to enter the proper elections for additional coverage and was able to get me the best rate. Thank you Abraham!

The person I talked to was very helpful regarding my question about service. I wasn't sure if a leaking faucet was included in the services or not, but she said she would submit the claim and I would hear back soon, which I did. Unfortunately, a leaky sink is not covered. So darn, guess my husband has to take this on. I did appreciate hearing about the added service option and the extra month of coverage.

David was the Select Home Warranty Sales Rep and was awesome. He knew the product and services very well. Understood my needs as a homeowner and was able to develop a plan that was both beneficial and affordable. Select is more competitive than my current coverage and was able to exceed my expectations with the coverage selections and price. Customer Service was excellent, highly recommend Select Home Warranty. In addition, they were able to start my coverage the same day as my previous policy expired.

Well I was informed via email that didn't have a fixture plan option on my home warranty, so they were unable to assist me on my claim (leaking bathroom faucets). The email also told me that I can add it to my warranty for additional $50. So almost $100 a month to cover which at this time isn't feasible due to financial situation. I will certainly be looking up and comparing Select Home prices versus others and what exactly is covered plus the discounts given.

The coverage they offered was just what I was looking for and the cost was less than other companies that I checked into. I purchased the warranty in August when I bought the home over the phone with their representative. My A/C went out in January and they sent the repair company who determined the unit needed to be replaced. The bill would be around $3500. I never heard back from Select Warranty until I called and they said since I had no maintenance records from the previous owner who is dead they would only pay $150. FRAUD AT ITS BEST, WHAT A RIPOFF.

I had just seen a report about home warranties and was reading all about them when William from Select Home Warranty called. Select was one of the top 3 companies so I was interested in what William had to say. When I asked a question William knew all the answers. He was a knowledgeable employee. Since we just purchased a home with appliances included I had a peace of mind knowing that these appliances would be covered. Value and peace of mind is why I purchase our policy and will recommend it to others.

Had a very helpful rep call and finalize my order, he offered additional savings that were phenomenal for long term clients. Their incentives for free months and money off are very good, best I have seen and I have been looking for a good while now. The cost of service call is less than just calling a company on the make of your appliances. I would recommend to everyone renting or owning. I chose the best plan available and got roof coverage that I was not even expecting to get and I am very happy with that. Looking forward to having peace of mind.

My policy number is **. What a joke this company is. I strongly suggest you use American Home Warranty that will repair your items instead of giving you the runaround. At cancellation, they kept all but 50 dollars of my policy. They refused to fix the garbage disposal. Total garbage of a company and a total joke. They will not make things right and will remind you of the fine print when you need your garbage disposal worked on.

Fred was very nice and answered all of my questions. The prices are fair. I wish there were some more detailed information on the website, like service call fees and which discounts you get with paying for 12 months up front or just monthly. Mark at extension ** wasn't very pleasant. I call and got him first for some general questions and there was a lack of customer service. I really don't have more to say since I just signed up. I really hope this company is great and if so I will recommend it to others.

Bruce is the person I spoke with. I found him to be very courteous, informative and efficient. Not only did he listen patiently to our needs and the information we had researched with other warranty plans but he also he provided us with detailed information and found for us exactly what we needed. I liked that he was not 'pushy'. Once we decided on the warranty plan, he handled the transaction professionally and did not take up more of our time than necessary.

I called to get repair on my refrigerator. It broke days into this new warranty. It took about 3 weeks before tech arrived and numerous calls. Finally they respond offering 125.00 towards repair of a high end Sub-Zero. Stating the age of appliance...prior to purchase they were told that all my appliances are high end and they assured me it was no problem they would be replaced or repaired. Salesmen say anything to sale policies. They deduct monies when you ask for refund stating they charge for the months you had policy even though they aren't used.
Worst nightmare ever from the time I entered into this scam of a deal. Their phones line stay busy and they get upset when you drop their policy! Robert was rude and tried to show me where they are justified in withholding funds. I actually paid them to be a pain for me and nothing has gotten repaired. Purchased In December and it is January. They have your account on hold 30 days so I was unable to use it until January 3rd. Called for appointment on January 5th and as of today nothing has been done or repaired. Please run from this company. Save yourself the heartache and grief!!

Sam was awesome. He was informative and understanding without crazy, high pressure sales tactics. The policy seems to be the most economical on the market with affordable annual policy amount, deductible and coverage. The website correlated perfectly with Sam's follow-up email and was laid out very well. There appear to be no hidden fees, although the "bundled" coverage covers things I don't have. Despite bundled coverage, it is still more economical than AHS or others. I hope the policy proves to be as awesome and useful as Sam!

The adviser I spoke with on the phone helped me pick the best policy and the available discounts. And he answered all of my questions. The policy is a full replacement and it is transferrable to a new owner if we decide to sell the home before the policy expires. This approach helped us to have ease of mind while we live in the home. Our home is about 14 years old so it is in that risky age where things start breaking.

I spoke to Richard to start the contract. He was amazing and very customer service oriented. Explained everything in great deal and provided me some great options to save me money. I feel great about the contract and the protection it provides my home. I called back to add some other options and Richard answered the phone every time on the extension number he gave. I am looking forward to see how my first repair will go, but so far I am impressed with the customer service.

We received 2 emails from David **, and we are glad that he sent us email. Otherwise, we did not know about "Select Home Warranty". David was very thorough explaining about the 3 years, 5 years and 10 years plan. I wanted join at least 3 years plan, but Robert did not want it. He said, we will stay first 14 months and see it. The representative who took my plumbing repair request was most courteous, both in her tone and choice of words. I received a response, as the representative had informed me, as to the decision on my claim. It was thorough and accurate as to why my request could not be honored. Being new to this company, I had not remembered the timely reporting requirements involved and had waited too long to call them. Everything was handled with tact and accuracy.

I worked with Zachery based on recommendation of a friend. Purchasing was easy - I knew what to look for because I have had a home warranty with another company for more than 10 years. While their service was good, the cost just got to be way too high. Coverage with Select is the same and for much less. Hopefully nothing will break but if it does, we are covered! Proof will be when a service call is needed.

I join this company in October 2018, they have great customer service but they will not fulfill their obligations. I called at the end of November about my refrigerator making noise and ice maker not working. They send a contractor ‘Fix It Right’. He came out and just replaced the ice maker. No other diagnosis. He didn’t address the noise. The contractor had been out to my house 7 times and had not fix the problem. In between each revisit I contacted Select Home Warranty, they are nice but refuse to hold the contractor accountable. The contractor wouldn’t return their call nor mine. I am a month and 1 week later and my refrigerator is worst. It does not freeze at the top nor does it make ice.
I’m calling Select very frustrated asking if I could have another contractor come out. All Select is telling is that I have to keep the current contractor who have been to my home 7 times and it is clearly he can’t repair it. Select refused to send another contractor and showed no understanding for my situation. I was with American Home Shield for 4 years. I left because Select was less expensive but now I have learned from my mistake. I canceled with Select and returned to AHS. If you want quality and a company who cares go to American Home Shield not Select.

SCAM. I had clothes washer failure Dec. 2. It was 2 weeks before they sent anyone. Said it would cost $300 to repair. Offered me only $120.00. Sales dept told me they don't rep. Didn't matter, as they never paid even the $120.00. Won't answer me now. It's been 2 months.

Am a customer with this SHW, I called them for my first claims Nov 3, 2018 for washer and dryer, they send me a technician who I paid the service fee of $120 (normal). The technician send them the report requesting for a part to be replaced. The technician called me and told me how much SHW will cover and requested for me to pay him $87 to be the part which I gave him my credit card over the phone, however, since that day the technician has refused to pick my phone for over 4 weeks.
I called Select Home Warranty every day for good additional 4 weeks, they kept posting me. Telling me to keep having patience at 8 weeks. Unfortunately, I had another electrical problem, called this company, in fairness they sent me about 4 electrical company names via email, I called all companies but they declined to take up this job, all told me that Select Home Warranty does not pay their technician for months but taking money from their customers. My house was in darkness throughout New Year's Eve till date with 2 toddlers at home.
They made me and my family go through hell. After all, a new technician came, diagnosed for my washer, dryer, and electrical problem, they only approved the washer. Technician charges over $300 but they approve just $125. Please be aware of this company, they only care about your money. Very poor customer service. I suffered under this company for almost 3 months with no resolution. I will not recommend this company to anyone including my enemies. PLEASE BE AWARE, trust me. Am a very honest review writer. If you yield my advice, you will regret it and it will be so pain. I know all of their customer representative names and voices because I went through hell. Stay away from them.

First of all, reported problem via website but didn't get a response so called the 800 number and waited on hold for about 15 minutes. Finally reported that I needed to have a thermostat replaced. After a couple more days, a tech was sent out and cleaned something in the unit but did not replace the thermostat. A day later, the problem returned and asked the tech to come back and check it out. He then determined that the thermostat indeed needed to be replaced but I had to report it back to Select. Now, they won't send him back out without me sending in pictures and maintenance records even though he has identified the problem. So they are refusing to make the repair. So for a week, no heat. Customer service has been horrible and I see no benefit in having this warranty.

This company seems to hold a very tight grip on what it disburses, with tight limitations on the period of time you can report a problem for filing a claim (within three days after an incident) and a low preauthorized limit ($100) for what the technician can do without further permission from the company. The low preauthorized limit is nearly equal to what the homeowner pays the technician to inspect the problem ($75 per claim). That said, the company is always polite and offers helpful customer service.

Recently signed up with the help of Daniel **. He was a big help in explaining how the policy works, the coverage and the deductible. He was able to save me money over my prior warranty company. My coverage will begin in February. It is nice to have the peace of mind knowing that we will be covered should something break within our household. Also nice to know that should we move the coverage is transferable to another property.

I called to submit a claim. I'm having issues with my heat in my house, it is not getting hot. The unit comes on back it is not blowing out hot air and it doesn't stay on. The representative was very helpful to me. She explained everything in detail and informed me that someone would call to schedule a good time to come out to look at the unit. After submitting the claim, she helped me change the name on my policy. Thanks again for your help.

This company appears to be little more than a carefully crafted fraud. They assigned technicians to repair our furnace. None ever showed to do the work. When we asked them why, 2 of the 3 assigned said they had not been paid by Select Home Warranty and as such were not willing to do work for them. The 3rd tech assigned by Select Home Warranty never showed at all. After nearly 2 months of delays, Select Home Warranty demanded that we call our own technician at our own expense. We did so. When the technician arrived a Select Home Warranty representative badgered them on the phone pressing to force them to state that the repair of our furnace should not be covered. Our technician grew angry, handed me the phone back and refused to speak with the Select representative any further. The repair came to $313. Select said our reimbursement would be processed within 24 hours.
When no contact came after nearly 3 days, I followed up. Even more lies, diversion, and demands for a never ending list of documentation followed. When I tried to cancel, another smooth operator apologized for everything and promised to make good for months' worth of sins. All if I would just send one more piece of paperwork. I did so. He came back three days later with an offer to pay $150 of a $313 bill! I asked what would have happened if the bill was $10,000. He said the reimbursement would be the same... a cap of $150! In a smarmy tone he said, “Didn’t you read the policy?”
If you look closely, all of the reviews touting Select Home Warranty as trustworthy are paid advertisements. Based on my first-hand experience as a customer with more than a year of premiums paid, this is nothing more than a very artfully crafted fraud. I am in contact with the State Attorney General in my home state and I strongly suggest that you stay as far away from these swindlers as possible!

Representative answered all questions thoroughly and did not push too hard to sell me. When I told him I would call back because I had a meeting he was polite and gave me a callback number instead of continuing to purchase at that moment. I ended up calling him back and purchased the home warranty. I picked this company because it had a good reputation and was listed near the top of the list for home warranties.

I had a policy with Select Home Warranty. 1) Had a problem with my dishwasher and after the policy states they will repair or replace appliances I was told I could only get $100 for my dishwasher because of its age. 2) During summer month I placed a claim for the evaporative cooler which is atop my house. The first tech they gave me came out once, told me I needed a new blower. They said they would contact Select Home. I never heard from them again. After several calls to Select Home, a second tech was sent out. I never heard back from them and Select Home continually told me the claim had been approved. It is now December in Colorado. I had to have the unit shut-down. I contacted Select Home and they gave me the runaround... Said the tech said unit improperly installed... The unit has been on my home for 10 yrs. I have cancelled this policy... It was not worth the frustration and money.

The customer service representative was very knowledgeable and easy to understand. He did a great job explaining our options, and answering questions. There was no pressure to buy anything. In the end, we selected the one time Platinum Care payment option, and received two additional months free. We think this Warranty program will secure our homes appliances, and heat system substantially. We'll sleep better knowing we have it. Better to pay now, than a whole lot later.

I switched to Select Home Warranty on a couple of my rental properties because my other warranty co. prices were getting too high. Did this about 10 months ago. They had good ratings, they gave me a good price. Last week tenant called up complains about a/c. Contacted Select and they sent tech out. Said there was a leak in condenser and all the Freon leaked out and they did not cover that and it would cost $3900 for new a/c. Contacted customer service. They said I should have read contract. Then I went back and read it more thoroughly. Sure enough it's in there. They do not cover leaks (which is common problem). Advice when shopping for warranty some companies cover leaks this one doesn't. Going back to my old company they do. Would have saved me a lot of money if I would have stuck with them.

I have liked every repair person they have sent me, even though they did not replace my air system doa, I liked who they sent. I have renewed each year for about three years and appreciate the 45 dollar charge, some are more, would have liked a little paid toward my air system is only reason not 5 star. We purchased the Home Warranty on or about 9 December 2018. We had to install a new pressure regulator because the water pressure in our house was 110 psi and it was supposed to be 50. Our faucets, outside water faucet and reverse osmosis system were leaking and the water company told us it was because of too much water pressure. We had to call a plumber on 11 January 2019 because the leaks were becoming worse. Since we were in a panic and needed the issue fixed, we didn't even think of the home warranty we had just purchased.
After the fact, we realized we should have called them. We called them and explained the situation. They were very nice and said they would review our situation. We received a reply a few days later that it would not be covered because we did not live up to our agreement of calling them first to get a repair person sent out. We understand their answer and know we should have but in a moment of panic to have our problem fixed quickly and not being accustomed to having a policy like this, we called a plumber on our own. As new customers, we feel perhaps you could allow us one oops and pay the bill or at least a portion. We did save you money by not reporting it. The person we talked to at the home warranty place was very nice.

I have been trying to deal with these people since the end of December. They send an email saying that a review is being done and I will hear from them within 24 to 48 hours. However, their clocks have different ways of counting time than mine. I have heard nothing from them at all. When I call them, I sit on hold for the amount of time their automated system says, and then they up the hold time. First it's 2 minutes, then it's another 2 minutes, then it's 5 minutes, and it continues. They said the repairman would have to call them, he did, he was on hold 45 minutes before speaking to someone.
This whole business is nothing more than a con. My 2 minutes hold right now as I'm typing this has been 13 minutes, and it's not ending soon. Quite simply, they lie. They take your money and then they are done with you until you need to pay again. Now my wait time is 10 minutes. So much for the 2 I was told before. Run from these con artists. Don't answer the phone when they call. It should be considered fraud. I wouldn't have given them 1 star but there is no negative stars to be given.

I was looking for a reliable home warranty service and found Select Home Warranty through a search online. I found the package that I thought best suited my needs. The representative that called was extremely quick and efficient. I received a call less than ten minutes after placing my order. He did a really great job explaining the different options and packages. In my opinion I think he did a really nice job and was very personable. Although I have not submitted any claims so far, the inital setup process was very easy.

Good experience so far with our Home Warranty. I like the coverage options that are provided. The deductible is a fair price, and it is nice that local services can be used for repairs. Our home is in Alaska and this policy provides a sounds peace of mind for us. We have not had to use the policy yet and hopefully it will not be required. The real litmus to the quality of the product will come, if and when we ever have to use it. Hopefully that will not be the case.

I also referred my Father who also signed up as well! I was able to get 6 months free with a 3 year contract including a rider to include roof leaks and my sprinkler system. I looked into several companies before settling on Select Home Warranty. The representative on the phone was helpful and informative. I made the best decision for me. The like the option I was given to pay in three installments instead of monthly. I also appreciate the lower service call fee, although that was really not all that important to me. I will be recommending this plan to my daughter for her home she just purchased. Great rate, great reviews! I had been with AHS before. They did not have enough approved vendors in our area so sometimes I had to wait days to get a serviceman out to the house. Not good!

I have contacted Select 5 times. I made a claim 6 weeks ago. The contractor didn’t want the work. I contacted Select again and was assigned another contractor. Again, they didn’t want the job and said they do not even work with Select. I then filed a complaint...no response. I then got my own estimate and sent it to Select...again, no response. I fear I have been ripped off and fell for a home warranty scam.

I thought I had a water heater leak. It turns out I have a slab leak? Select Home Warranty sent out a Plumber the following day, plumber found issue within about 30 minutes. Too bad my issue is not covered through the warranty. Looking for a plumber to help me out with my issue. Hopefully if I have another issue it is covered under the warranty. The first repair service - Power Appliance Repair and Service did not respond to my four attempts to reach them. The second repair service responded immediately. Because the replacement cost for the part needed to repair oven was very expensive, I do not feel that the amount of $150 to replace the oven was equitable and fair. The new similar oven that I purchased was $1590.99. Lastly, it took 11 days for this transaction to be completed. That is too long, especially for an item that is used in the home every day.

Must read PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. This is a waste of money and I encourage everyone to stay away. We purchased this after we purchased a new home (to us). A little after a year our furnace stop working so we called and went through the process. We were informed that they had someone coming out to look at it and sent us the company info. It was cold out and we had no heat so I called the company coming to see when they would be there and they told us that they no longer do work for Select Home Warranty because they had problems with them paying them. It was now two days without heat and the kids were starting to get cold in the evenings. We were then told by Select Home Warranty to call a local company to come out and e-mail them the diagnoses.
Long story short the unit was in need of a part expensive enough to maybe get it going that they recommended a replacement. We were now about 6 days without heat. After 10 days without heat in January we got it fixed. Select Home Warranty wanted pictures and 3 years of maintenance records. We sent pictures, and two years counting the start of this years maintenance that we had done and they would not accept because we could not show 3 years. We informed them that we have only lived there going on two years and would send settlement papers to them to prove it but they would not accept. This seems nearly impossible to find the old owner of the house and hope that they have old records. Please save your money and do not purchase a home warranty from Select Home Warranty.

In this day and age of rude, unknowledgeable CSR people it's a breath of fresh air to talk with someone of his caliber. SHW has awesome coverage and the $45.00 service call is unheard of! We were with American Home Shield and their service fee got up to $75.00 which we thought was ridiculous with the annual fee we were charged. We dropped them and found you folks. I saw an advertisement online and decided to research purchasing a home warranty. Select Warranty was in the top five, so I contacted them for a quote. Their quote was the least expensive and they offered incentives if you purchased that day. It was very easy to sign up for the policy. Washer - It took 5 tries for over two weeks to get someone that is willing to work with you guys since the others refused! He spent 5 min with the unit, collected the service fee and made a recommendation for a high repair cost (which is not covered) or replacement which is not covered either, they just offer you a fraction of cost for both, so why have a warranty!?!? I've switched from another warranty company after 5 years because they kept increasing the fees every year, but didn't have much problems about their contract, now I see the phrase YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR is absolutely correct.

Just the facts and you decide. I purchased one policy for my Minnesota home, and one for my Florida home. I purchased the repair OR replace; if it can't be repaired it will be replaced. Please know that they don't share the fine print until after you purchase the policy: $60.00 Service Call fee for each claim. You pay the contractor $60.00 just to show-up. $2000 cap on their payout for heating and cooling. I don't know where you can find a new furnace or AC for $2000. $400 cap on their payout for EVERYTHING ELSE. THEY decide if your claim is covered.
My Minnesota experience: AC went out, very very hot July day. They took the information and stated someone would get back to me in 1 or 2 days to schedule a time to come out. 3 days with no AC on very hot July days? Unacceptable to me. I asked them if it was 40 below in the winter and my furnace went out, is it also 1-2 day, and they confirmed yes; they don't approve after hours call. I explained that my water pipes would have frozen by then, burst, and flooded my home. It did not change their urgency in getting someone to my home.
I promptly cancelled my Minnesota policy, which finally did their attention but it was too for them to change my mind. I threatened to ALSO cancel my Florida policy if they kept pushing to keep the Minnesota policy, at which time they backed off. I handle the AC service call myself and had it fixed by the end of the day; a very minor issue that only cost $75.00. I have a much better policy where I pay $60.00 per month, no service call fee to me, and if they can't repair it they replace it - NO CAPS ON THEIR PAYOUTS!
My Florida experience: My home in the country with a well and septic, and I had purchased extra coverage for the well pump and septic system. The well pump stopped working. Again, 1-2 days. Really? The policy has no allowances for emergent or urgent issues. They claim they escalate the issues, but it doesn't really matter; they will not approve after-hours service calls because they are more expensive. I learned that the well pump does indeed need to be replaced. SHW did agree that it was a covered benefit, and authorized a payout of the maximum allowable of $400.00. A new well pump costs $1400.00. I'm currently contacting the Better Business Bureau and looking for a class-action lawyer. They didn't provide any of these details prior to me purchasing the policies. It was only after I paid them that they emailed me my policies, and the "fine print". You decide.

I had a lot of questions while trying to choose a home warranty company. I read reviews and saw that Select had some great reviews and had won awards for their service, so I called them. Customer service was great, Richard was able to answer all of my questions regarding the coverage and fees. I got the platinum care coverage plan. I hope I will not need it but I feel much better knowing that I have a home warranty to cover any surprises in the future.

Daniel was knowledgeable and answered my questions. He was patient and understood what I needed to know in order to be sure I was satisfied. I have a concern that has nothing to do with Daniel. This does not change the high rating I gave him. Often companies (especially with automobile sales), use a common practice of the salesperson saying they need to see their manager when they think it is possible the customer plans to say no to the deal. The salesperson goes away for a short time and comes back offering a better deal. After I first said no to Daniel he "spoke with his manager" and I was offered a lower price and additional month, which changed my mind and I accepted. Offer the best you have up front and cut out the "let me speak to my manager" part. Once again, I am pleased with Daniel and my contract.

I would not recommend this company at all. I put in a service call online on January 10, 2019. I called on January 11, 2019 to check on the status because no one called me to let me know what was going on with my claim. I was told it takes 24-48 hours. So I called again on January 13, 2019 because still no one had contacted me about my claim. I was told that the website was being updated and they would have to take my claim over the phone. So they took my claim and told me I should receive an email shortly, needless to say I never received an email. Called the company back on January 15, 2019 to find out the status on my claim and was told that my claim was denied because they don't cover water leaks from an HVAC system. They just cover certain parts. My thing is this, how do you know where the leak is coming from if you don't come out to survey what the problem or even if it not a problem with one of the items that you do cover.

I signed up with them a year ago for my property. I was promised courteous and attentive customer care with fast service from good, licensed contractors. Also I was told I would be allowed to choose my own contractor and they would reimburse me the funds I was out of pocket in excess of the $45 deductible in a 'timely' manner. Let's see how well that has worked out:
1) Attentive customer care - NONE of their customer service personnel speak English as a primary language. That, in and of itself, is not a problem, but when they haven't learned the language well enough to be understood by someone who is multilingual - that IS a problem especially when there is no one there to whom they can transfer me to get the help I need. More over, the 'customer care' center, while polite, is useless. They can't get anything done especially when there is a problem. You can’t call in a claim – you have to submit it online – what happens if the problem precludes your ability to use your computer?! Then they call you back in a day or two for 'more information'. There is no place or way for you to check your account(s) or claims online to see the status.
2) Fast service – First is to note the fact that once you submit a claim, it takes them a day or two to call you back for ‘more information’ which amounts to your name and address and type of claim - all information which you already provided to them online. Then it takes them another “24 to 48 hours” for “Claims to assign a contractor who you have to call to set up an appointment. So, even under perfect circumstances, you're already at a week before the contractor gets to your property.
Well, the first plumbing problem I had was spraying water all over the downstairs. I had to turn the water off and called in a claim. After a week during which there was ZERO running water at the property, and multiple calls to the 'claims' center, they STILL hadn't assigned a contractor so I chose my own and got it fixed. That ‘fix’ caused problems up the lines. The company was notified this might happen prior to the first repair. But, when I called in the second claim for a leak up the line, I was refused service on the basis that I had ‘signed a release’ which, apparently, was in tiny print on the check they sent me and prevents me filing a claim on that water line in perpetuity. So after one claim, I can no longer use the service for my water intake pipes - EVER! What sort of insurance is that?
The second claim I put in involved a broken sewer pipe inside the house which was dumping sewer water into my downstairs. AGAIN, No assignment after 48 hours so I called again. I was promised assignment in 48 hours. That didn't happen. I called again and got the name of the contractor they had assigned. The contractor was in a DIFFERENT STATE and didn't work my state. So I called back AGAIN! After much teeth gnashing and threats, finally got to speak to a manager who promised me immediate assignment and a call back that afternoon with the name and number. Didn't happen. I am now at 7 days with sewer water running inside the house and they haven't responded in anything vaguely resembling a 'fast' or 'courteous' manner.
3) Timely reimbursement - It took them 2 months to get me a reimbursement check! How is that timely?! I submitted the paid receipt the very day it was paid. It took them a WEEK to get me the 'appropriate claim forms' and another 6 weeks to get the check after that was submitted back to them. I'm elderly and on a fixed income. That $250 was my food money for the month. I had to sponge off my friends and family to eat thanks to their 'timely reimbursement' policy.
Again, I'm going to have to choose my own contractor to get this problem fixed. Having a broken sewer pipe dumping filthy water into my home for more than a week is simply unacceptable. I don't know how I'm going to manage, but at least I have a supportive group of family who will help me out financially while I wait for them to 'reimburse me'. I am now actively looking for a replacement warranty service.

The information is easy to understand on the website, and when I called back even the person that attend my call, even though he tried to get other offers, he was not pushy. I cannot give my opinion on the service yet, but I really hope that when I need it will be as good as the sale experience. At this moment is all I can contribute to this review.

Nathan was my customer service agent who went over and spoke to me regarding my new Home Warranty policy options and coverages. He was extremely knowledgeable and patient with all of my questions and concerns. The value couldn't be beat and the guaranteed within 24 hours response is a major plus in case something breaks down in order for a service contractor to come to my house. Nathan was extremely helpful with keeping in mind cost and offered me cost incentive options to my policy.

Fred was able to explain to me exactly how my policy work and he also gave me all the options I had. As far as I am concerned there is a place in the world for any business that takes care of its customer after the sales. There is no traffic jam in going the extra mile for a customer and Fred did just that for me. People don't know how much you know until they know how much the person selling a product cares.

My heating system didn't work last winter and I called Select Home Warranty. They found a contractor for me but the contractor didn't contact me or answered my phone. So I called Select Home Warranty again and after several days, they told me they couldn't find an another contractor for me. I finally found a contractor by myself.
My heating system had problem again last week. I filed claim with them. Since I had so bad experience with them already and I don't trust them anymore, I told them I was finding my own contractor since it was so cold and I didn't want to wait. They agreed. After my contractor fixed the problem, I sent invoice to them. The invoice is only for $79 repair fee and includes diagnosis and confirmed my payment. They didn't give me any response in at least 3 business days. I sent invoice last Thursday and couldn't receive feedback the following Tuesday until I called them.
Unfortunately my heating system stopped working again after the repair last Thursday, I called the company to check if I need to file another claim but nobody can help me. I am feeling I was cheated and they couldn't provide any help to me. I didn't get released with this home warranty instead I got more trouble. I am considering to cancel my plan and won't buy home warranty in future.

The Select Home Warranty process was fast, simple and easy. The staff that took my call was friendly, timely and processed the order along with the confirmation email immediately. I have not had to make a claim to this point but am hoping that process goes just as smooth. A claim submission online is definitely a plus! I would certainly consider recommending this company to clients, friends and family after going through the claim process to verify we are happy with those results as well.

The gentleman I spoke with was very polite and offered great deal and answered all my questions in regards to the new contract. He helped me understand that the contract obligation was not limited if I moved and explained that the warranty could be transferred and or cancelled with prorated pay, which was one of my major concerns. The initial contact with this company was very brief, but very helpful. The friendly representative was able to get me a better deal than what I originally signed up for and I'm very satisfied with that. I didn't feel like my time was being wasted and the contact was efficient and to the point which I very much appreciate. Alan was great. He was professional and knowledgable. He answered my questions about the overall policy coverage and gave specific details on the roof coverage. He explained the pricing and monthly vs one time payment options. I explained I had just paid my property taxes and home insurance and he was able to break the yearly fee into three payments and I still get the two months free. The three month payment option was a great solution for me. Alan also called back when he said he would. He explained that I would received an introduction email and my contract shortly while I was on the phone with him. I was surprised that I received the contract so fast. I actually received it while I was on the phone with him. I deal with a lot of customer service representatives - Alan was very helpful and courteous throughout the process. Knowing the cost of replacing and fixing household items. This policy will be a good addition to have in our house. This company seems to have very good reviews which made it easier for us to purchase the 5 year policy plan. With the 5 year policy plan we got an extra year free and a lower deductible which made lots of sense for us to purchase a longer plan. I hope we never have to use a plan like this but with a peace of mind that your costs should not get out of control is exactly what we are looking for with a home warranty policy. The selling agent was very knowlegable and made me feel comfortable with purchasing a 5 year plan when I was just going to do a 1 year plan.

I moved into current residence 2 weeks ago. In view of myriad expenses in relocating, it was helpful to have some flexibility in paying premium for warranty. A fixed income can be a challenge. Hopefully, I will not need to impose upon Select very often! The choice selections are appreciated as well, as seniors’ needs differ from those of a young family. Isaac seemed quite knowledgeable about Select’s assorted programs and did not hesitate to suggest what he felt would be most beneficial to his new customer.

We have had Select Home Warranty on our home for the past two years at $509 per year with a copay per service of $75. We felt it was a good value for our money. Our Select Home Warranty agent, Johnathan, explained the benefits of renewing with a 5-year multi-year renewal. We bought the 5-year plan and got an extra year free for a total of six years. By doing so we were able to lock in our annual renewal from years seven and after at $375. Our copay per service was also reduced from $75 to $45. We also like that we can transfer the home warranty when we sell our home or move to another home. We are very pleased.

I had very bad experience with Select Home Warranty. They do not technician and at end of service you hear, they dont cover that. I paid upfront for 3 years. In beginning with I thought it happens they don't cover something all 2018 What I had 4 to 6 claims. Evey claim with was frastration. Their contractor won’t call, finally when someone arrive you will they dont cover that. I suggest every to buy when buy appliance, you will find good service in there.

I received a callback with a quote very quickly. Their customer service answered both my calls by email and over the phone within a couple of hours. The pricing and coverage is better than other companies that I received a quote from. It was very easy to set up our home warranty and it is nice to have peace of mind in purchasing our home. It took 4 calls to your technician to have him come out, I felt he was trying to avoid me. When he did come out with his assistant I had to believe he was being honest but I'm just not sure. He said he would call back but at this date he has not. I have nothing else to add, I'm not sure how I feel about the experience. He said he had 300 more orders to complete. I'm not quite sure if that is believable.

I wasn't sure that my side by side freezer would be cover or I would have to pay extra, but Mr. Daniel ** assure me that it will be cover because it is a side by side freeze that goes with the refrigerator and the refrigerator doesn't have a freezer. Mr. Daniel was very professional and friendly. I hope that I have a good experience with Select Warranty if I have a claim as they promise. I found the whole process to be very smooth and pleasant. I was able to review and make my decisions before contacting a representative. The coverage has all the components I was looking for. I liked the extended warranty for roof leakage and the special I was able to get really added to the overall value. Great customer service by Adam. He was very thorough and did a great job explaining everything. I purchased the 3-year plan because it was such a good deal. I have had a warranty plan in the past that wouldn't even touch a sump pump repair. Your company did and I am grateful. I started shopping policies because I was not happy with who I have. I found Select Home Warranty online and signed up for a quote. I received a call right away and was walked through the process. Jeff was very helpful! We were able to get more coverage at reduced rate??? I love that they have a local office and the call out fee is $60 with the special. They through is roof leak for free and to add sprinkler/lawn was just a few dollars more.

The plan will cover all of my needs for the amount of items that the policy covers. We just signed up with select home warranty. They were referred by a work colleague. The rep, Zachary ** was very knowledgeable and professional. He provided all the needed info and made it easy to sign up. We are new customers, and we opted for the 3-year plan, that includes 6 additional months and roof coverage. The company offers one and five year plans too, but being that I'm new to home warranty coverage, felt that the 3 year plan took advantage of multi-year discounts without having to lay out what for me would have been an excessive upfront cost. The 5 year plan includes concierge service - which sounds nice but ideally, we wouldn't need to make use of the warranty so much for that to become worth the extra costs.

I went with this company because they worked with me on month to month. The company I was with stopped repairing half the things I had covered and stopped with replacement. Had a problem with circuit box, contractor out on time. Found issue and fixed it. Found it was also responsible for the problem we had with microwave unit. The folks were very nice and respectful. The replacement that was put in seems to be of a decent quality. We found it very helpful to know what was the cause of the microwave failure really was. Good value and protection appears to be comprehensive. The ability to add sewer and well pump coverage was important to me. Richard provided me an excellent offer with a reduced co-payment plan. On phone wait times never less than 10 mins. So I also did a claim request online. That got me faster service. A denial that co does not deal with leaks in Air Conditioner system. I told them it is a refrigerator, they then promptly denied it. They advised me to find my own tech to diagnose prob & maybe they would reimburse. My friend referred me to your services and I had no idea that that this concept existed. Great price and extra months a big plus. I have yet to experience and claim but your plan promises many servicers in our area and I expect that we will get quick, competent response should we have a failure of any of our appliances. Garage door opener is definitely another plus. Our door opener is 22 years old and still working but it doesn't matter because this plan doesn't place any restrictions on age or condition of the items covered. The deductible also is less than other plans that I researched. I would definitely recommend to our friends and acquaintances.

Then after a frustrating phone call with them they then tell me it is 24 to 48 business hours... That's ridiculous. Now they are telling me the parts will not be covered. Called in on January 9, 2019 to report my furnace had stopped working. I was desperate because it has been cold here in Michigan the last few days, so I called around to some other companies. Didn't really care what the cost would be. I needed heat. Found a company that would come out the same day. I looked for the email that Select Home Warranty usually sends out once they have found a contractor (I was still going to use their contractor if he could come the same day) and never saw it. The next day no email. Never heard back from Select Home Warranty. Called back Saturday January 12, 2019 just to see what happen and the rep told me that my claim was blank other than a issue with my furnace. Then he told me, "Get a pen and paper and I will give you the contractor info." He actually told me that some people wait three days with no heat for Select to get them a contractor.

I looked at multiple home warranty companies and settled on Select Home Warranty because of its coverage, value, and the responsiveness of the representative throughout the sign up process. I had a compressor go bad on my refrigerator. The technician reported, but Select decided to denied my claim b/c the seal was bad. It was not. This was a poor excuse not to fix my unit. Select has found some BS reason to deny every claim I have submitted. It is ridiculous to pay for a home warranty and $60 service fee and be told you're not covered. AHS would never had treated me this way.

New warranty purchased January 8, 2019 for second home. Once we got to the correct department, the Sales department, Mark ** was very helpful. We called about this home warranty, but ended up taking a multiple home policy. He explained the options and transferability of the policy. This evaluation is based on that call and not earlier calls. Our hope is that the service calls in the future are handled as well. We have used other home warranty companies and hope Select is easier to work with. So far so good.

Updated on 01/16/2019: HVAC was behaving abnormally. I called Select Home Warranty to send someone out. They sent someone that was UNLICENSED, Unequipped and came in a TAXI! The individual from "Heat and Air Express" was using every effort in his body to talk normally. It appeared he was under the influence of something. He did not bring any gauges, any tools or even a ladder. It was snowing and icy outside, He had muddy boots on and now my carpet needs CARPET CLEANING! He did not wipe his shoes or take them off when he came inside! Mud all over the floor and carpet!!!
As he climbed the stairs to the second floor, I got a horrible odor of **. I had to provide a bar stool to help him climb into the HVAC area. He did not bring any tools! He went into the attic, turned the unit off and went outside for 20 seconds and came back and told me, well "basically the ubenz has a leak and needs repair. But in order to repair we need to do a leak find which is $350." He took me outside and started pointing at a AC unit. HE WASN'T EVEN LOOK AT THE RIGHT ** UNIT! WE HAVE TWO UNITS, HE WAS LOOKING AT AND POINTING AT THE UNIT THAT WASN'T even broken! Attempting to scam me out of $350 stating the system has a "leak". As he left I noticed he didn't even have a company car. He came in a taxi!
What is the full legal name of "Heat and Air Express" that came to service the hvac unit? What is it's MHIC contractor number? Before the unit was heating and now, I will be filing a complaint against this company as he disconnected some wire and now it doesn't even turn on! I called Select Home Warranty regarding the situation, they said they can't help with it and apologize if the individual was unlicensed. The rep told me they don't really have a license number on file and anyone can apply to be a contractor for the company! We will be filing a lawsuit.
Original Review: Denied several claims that are covered under warranty: I purchased this home warranty after repeated sales calls from SHW. I got the platinum plan which covers HVAC and appliance, plumbing, electrical and roof leaks. (Rep assured me of this.) A couple months after warranty, I filed a claim to use it. They say they don't cover HVAC. Only appliances. Why would I pay $800 to cover only appliances? Once they have your money, they will deny all claims. This is a scam.

Select Home Warranty has been an awesome part of making sure we get settled in our home. We bought an older home and were not sure what issues we might have. They have been very prompt and fair in our claim about our garbage disposal. Filing a claim at the website was easy and I got a call from customer service almost immediately. We spent New Year's Eve sorting out a Home Warranty for peace of mind on our rental house in Florida. Bruce was helpful and not pushy. Managed to get a good value plan we believe. He explained the coverage clearly and the service fees etc. We have not had to use the plan as yet but the experience so far has been great. I'm confident that this will be no problem and we don't have to worry about sudden large costs when we are so far away.

I just today signed up for the Platinum level home warranty plan. I had done extensive research of several different companies and had narrowed my choice but still wasn't sure which one to choose. After talking with "Adam" the rep I was convinced that their company was the one for me. Good price and coverage options but best of all, Adam was so very, very helpful, kind and knowledgable. If I ever have a need for service I hope it's as positive an experience as my signing up was.

I spoke with the customer service rep today and he was very helpful. My experience with Select Home Warranty has been great so far and I am happy I signed up for a home warranty. I signed up with a different warranty company last year and was not happy with the service I received. Bruce was extremely helpful in talking me through the plan options and getting us set up in just a few minutes. I did use another home warranty company in the past and their customer service was super slow. Your system seemed to be a little better for me to access. This service request for home repair was submitted last year on December 11, 2018 and I just received approval from the Select Home Warranty company on 1/9/19 regarding my Claim request #**. The response time was almost 1 month which is awful. Select Home Warranty states that they typically respond and approve requests within 48 hrs. It is unfortunate that this warranty is not able to meet their own stated requirements. This was not the first dissatisfied experience with Select Home Warranty.

Mark ** was very helpful. He apologized for the delay I had getting through and worked to help look at the best angle for our homes. He also checked area contractors for us on both homes. There was a typo on the contract and when I called back it was handled quickly. We have not had a claim yet, so can’t comment from that experience yet. I am hoping that claims are taken care of so quickly.

Unstopping Kitchen Sink Drain Line - The claim was submitted on Monday this week and I had to call Tuesday night around 8:30pm to find out if a tech was assigned and the man said one had been and gave me the firm name and phone number. I was told that I would receive an email with that information but never did. Today I tried to call Handy Man Maintenance but the phone number given was disconnected. I had to call a plumber myself and get him out to the house to unstop the drain. Meanwhile we could not wash dishes or clean up the kitchen, but had to use the lavatory in the powder room to wash cups, coffee pot, bowls, plates and silver for three and a half days.

I recently purchased a Home Warranty policy through Richard ** to cover our house and pool repairs in Arizona. Richard demonstrated both exemplary professionalism and courtesy during the contact phone call and email correspondence. The response time for contact emails and the policy itself was immediate. The service fee is much lower than the warranty I previously had, as is the annual rate. The multi-year option offers a significant discount also. I would definitely recommend this policy to others looking for a home warranty.

In all honesty, any of my comments on the plan and price will be conditional on reviewing the policy, which I should receive shortly. The salesperson was helpful, answering all of my questions. Though he was doing his job of trying to sell the product, he did not attempt high pressure tactics to push me into a sale. I was very happy with the price and coverage as compared to the coverage I've had with another company for about ten years. Rates and deductible were both lower and coverage is broader. I am looking forward to reviewing the written policy, but at this point I am very happy with both the salesperson and the program.

We bought a warranty for our home that we purchased in August 2018. Our first claim was in October when we realized our downstairs hot water heater was not working. Called Select Home Warranty and they said they would send a contractor to check it out. The plumber came in about a week. He found the issue and informed us we had to pay $125 dollar service call fee. We never heard back from the plumber or Select Home. Waited a few weeks thinking something would be done. Never heard from them again. Made another claim. Another plumber came to evaluate and demanded another $125 dollar fee, which we paid of course.
Two weeks went by and again no word from Select. We contacted them and they then asked for “service logs” for the hot water heater which we don’t have as we just bought the house in August! We did have the house inspected before purchase and all was found in working order with no issues. Long story short Select offered us $190 for a $900 estimate to repair! They have been nothing but stressful to deal with. Delaying and stalling and them screwing us over!! Avoid this company!!!

I purchased a warranty with Select home warranty. Got upsold to include my tile roof. I live in Florida. Was told any leaks would be covered. I filed a claim for a leak in my laundry room ceiling. Roofer came out and explained where it was leaking. Tile on the roof is for decorative purpose only according to the roofer. Select Home Warranty denied my claim after it took over 3 weeks to get someone to check out the problem. Why insure me and take my money if you are not going to repair my roof. Seems like a scam! I should be reimbursed my monthly premiums. They just don't care. I guess this is how they make a profit, by scamming innocent consumers.

I am very unhappy with the service Select has provided. First of all I was never informed that my claim had been denied. No one contacted me. I had to call in. I would not recommend this company. They try everything not to approve your claim and I paid in full for the warranty for the year. Second of all I was spoken to very rudely by their service reps. Please be warned. Do not purchase this warranty.

This company is a total scam. They had no technician or subcontractors who agree to work with them. I had several problems and every time I call them, their phone agents have no clue. They take your information and provide no answer. My dishwasher was broken, I called them and filed a claim. (After several attempt phone calls). No one of the assigned subcontractor accepted to come and all of them said this is a ** company and does not pay them. I called them again and offered to find a subcontractor, they said no. My dishwasher stayed broken for several weeks and I had to finally buy a new one on my own. SHW could not find a subcontractor and refused to let me find one. I called them and said I had to buy new one. After lots and lots of calls they agreed to pay me $100. (I paid $800 for the new dishwasher).

I made payment earlier today in order to have home warranty under the platinum rate, monthly. I received an email from an "Adam" to call a number and verify I wanted to proceed with the services. I called the number and a rep informed me I should pay the yearly rate in order to save money (Which was never the issue). I explained my home warranty with American Shield ended on the last day of December and I wanted to try Select Home Warranty because of the 5-star review. I explained monthly more as a trial run. The man/representative started talking to me rudely and condescendingly, all while reminding me the call was being recorded. This rep needs to be fired. Been awhile since I've been spoken to in this manner.
Anywho I endured the attitude, I explained how I needed a "job" done on the house I live, once I'm covered. He explained this warranty only covers new jobs once I'm covered. I asked how many days till I'm covered and he explained 90 days from today 1-7-18. However he told me I was wasting my time and he was going to cancel my plan in light of me using the word "job". I hanged up. Will call back and speak to supervisor. However it seems I'm back to square one on American Home Shield.

Have had Select Home Warranty for 9 month and made 3 claims. The air conditioner took over one month to get repaired, had to pay for the total repairs and then send in for reimbursement. Took over 15 calls and finally got a supervisor to get this one resolved. Repair of the ice maker has been over one month, and Select Home Warranty has not notified the repair company they can make the repairs needed work down on a faucet for the shower, it is been 23 days and they have not been able to get a plumber. They say they have assigned it to three plumbing companies. The first one never returned a call. The second one never received work order from Select Home Warranty even though Select Home Warranty told me 4 times they sent it. The last time saying that they had talked to plumber and were faxing the work order. Nothing. We are all taking showers out of one shower.
Their customer service is terrible. They basically tell you nothing or say you have to wait for Dispatch, Approval or some other department. If you ask for a supervisor or manager they will not do it unless you argue with them for 20 - 30 minutes. Do not go with this company unless you can wait for 30-45 days for all your repairs to be completed and you also can afford to pay 50% of all repairs. That has been the standard charge to date. The air conditioner repairman said that Select is one of the worst companies. Every time he goes to a Select Home Warranty house for repairs they are all unhappy and complaining.

I sent receipts to Select Home on 14 Nov 2018, received and returned claim form on 27 Nov 2018. This is 7 Jan 2019. I just called them to find out the status of my reimbursement check; they need 1 to 2 more weeks. An additional 2 weeks would put it at 39 working days to get a reimbursement check.

They don't respond on email. You don't get contractor on time, when you need them. They don't reimburse the claim. Select Home is a fraud. Stay away from them. This was my second year with Select Home. My experience was good when it comes to very, very small items (anything which covers in service fees). The reason person takes insurance is to deal with bigger expenses. My gas blower motor needed replacement and I called up Select Home to send the contractor to fix it. They gave me the contractor number, so far so good.
I called up contractor multiple times, they did not pick my number, nor they responded back. In the end, I hired my own contractor and thought of getting the reimbursement from Select Home. I spent $850 to replace the gas blower motor and submitted my invoice and maintenance record for reimbursement. Select Home decided to reimburse only $110 out of $850, and gave no genuine reason why they are not reimbursing. Finally, I canceled my account with them. You need to spend lot of time and follow-ups to get the pennies out of total amount you spend.

This warranty service is by far the most useless, I not only wasted my money on this but more importantly the time I spent on the claims and the follow up to get the repair companies. Latest is a sprinkler repair claim I raised more than 2 months ago. Every time I call Select Home Warranty for status on when I can expect someone to come to repair, they say they will expedite but that never happens.
Previously I had 2 other claims, one related to water heater and a second one related to AC, both of which they said are not covered AFTER I ended up entertaining the repair companies they sent to diagnose the problem. In both instances I ended up paying them just for the trip. I wish they told me over the phone based on the symptoms of the issue that it is not covered. Lastly when I called for cancelling, they want to charge me $75 cancellation charge on top of the prorated cost to-date for which I did not receive any meaningful service. I feel like I have been cheated. My suggestion: do not buy from these people.

My convection oven quit working so I submitted a claim. Select sent out a company and the technician did not even turn my oven on to see if it was working, he submitted the claim to Select. I was asked to submit photos and the model and serial number. Along with submitting these items I also sent out a photocopy of the receipt and amount and date of purchase of the oven. The oven was purchased in 2016 and is in great shape (minus the convection oven). Select claims they cannot get the part to repair the oven and is only willing to give me $125.00 for the cost of the part (that they cannot get) instead of replacing the oven. Why bother purchasing a convection oven if I cannot use it. I have made several attempts to rectify this and they are standing firm on only a repair cost which is the cheaper of the two.
I pointed out their contract states I am entitled to a second opinion at no cost to me. First they said I have to find a repair company that will not charge me for the service call and that is what that clause meant. Then they fell back on a second opinion clause saying it is optional if the oven is to be replaced. (They have denied this, only to say they are sending 125.00 for the cost of the part not the replacement of my oven which cannot be repaired.) One of the managers even told me I was entitled to my own opinion, what kind of service is this?
I asked for an arbitrator and was told I had to submit it in writing as well. The claims guy told me I was approved for a replacement so I asked for that in writing, then he said he was not allowed to send me that in writing. I asked him to put someone on who could and he would not do so. I spent 1 1/2 hours on the phone with him. He told me I could go buy a replacement oven and could be reimbursed up to 775.00. Which was not true. He lied to me. I asked why he would tell me this knowing Select only approved 125.00 for a repair amount that can not even be repaired.
Select has chosen to be cheap and going with 125.00 settlement instead of making my oven right. The claims guy said my oven was defective. I asked, "Isn't this why I have a home warranty?" I wasn't even asking for the whole replacement cost but something more than 125.00 so I can purchase a new convection oven. Read The Whole Contract First!!! Ask if the part is not available will the item be replaced or will they only give the cost of the (non)replacement part. Which still doesn't the item work. I am shopping around for a better warranty company that will do right with their customers and Select Home Warranty is not it.

I was with this company for only 6 months and submitted a claim for a washer. It took weeks to get a technician out and when they came out they needed to order a part and took several weeks to get approval, which was denied. They offered a partial reimbursement check for a small portion of the repair of $155, but sent a letter for me to sign stating they would give $125, I called and requested them change it to what they told me they would give. They stated they would check with a supervisor and call back, that was 3 weeks ago, never called back so I just signed the one they sent for $125 and when I called back they told me since I signed the one that stated $125 they can no longer give me the $155 they promised.
At this time they also offered a free service call, if I didn't cancel policy, I figured I would use it and submitted a claim for my garage door and yet 3 weeks later still haven't had them even call to set up an appt. This is the worst company I have ever had for a home warranty, which I've used home warranty companies for years. I've actually planned on canceling and going with another company. Just waiting on that check but who knows if I will ever see it.

The sales representative Tracey ** was very helpful. He took the time to explain how the program worked and answered all of my questions. Mr. ** provided me with payment options that helped to increase the value of coverage provided by Select Home Warranty. He did not push me into a decision, but gave me all of the information I needed to make an informed decision. I asked to have the contract emailed so that my husband and I could take the time to review before making a final decision and he granted my request. I hope I do not have to utilize the services for some time to come, however, I feel safe knowing that we have something in place to help us when the time comes.

The representative who assisted me answered all my questions about my coverage in a helpful manner. Jonathan was a pro in servicing me today. Only yesterday I cancelled our Select plan because we received an offer to purchase our home later this summer. Then today, I called to see if it was too late to cancel. Jonathan explained that it was, but that we could start a new contract at the same rate. He then offered a special plan to pay a yearly rate, thus saving a hundred dollars and receive 14 months service. I am thrilled.

Great sales rep. Hoping to see that this policy is also great. On several homes we'll try this and see how we do. Would also like to add the sales rep was very informative and explained the terms of the contract. Currently had American Shield insurance for least 10 years. I am not satisfied with them. American Home Shield takes too long to answer their calls and also their service is not a one-day service and the whistle their service fee is $75.

I placed a call for service which is a plumbing issue and needs immediate attention. I called and went online and submitted an email. To the email there was no response at all, not even an automated response. The phone call took about 5 minutes on hold, not bad, I was given a claim number, told her it was a plumbing clog, backing up into my utility sink. I am still waiting for an email to schedule an appointment.

I got everything covered in my home, even the appliances in my mother-in-law rooms. I am very comfortable with the price and reputation! So far nothing has needed service but I know not to take chances on "good luck". When I bought my home I had a low ranked service provided by the seller. 3 months later, the air conditioner failed in peak heat (105-115 degrees F) and it took the other guys 6 weeks to find the part and get the AC back in service.
