Very pleasant conversation with Sol **, Sol ** was very helpful and courteous. Sol ** explained the coverage in precise, concise, language and no hard sale. Sol Banon was very knowledgeable and answered my questions with ease. Sol ** is to be commended for his professional demeanor. I chose this company because of the excellent online reviews they received. The recommendations were helpful and stated the reasons for their choosing the service. The yearly awards also made it appear to be a great company.

The rep was very helpful and answered all of my questions. I hope to have a great relationship with Select Home if I should need to file a claim. As a Senior I found the discounts and final cost of the warranty to be very reasonable. The rep was very thorough when suggesting the best value warranty for my needs. I hope to recommend Select Home Warranty to friends and family over the course of the contract term and with additional experience as claims might be needed.

They use an Indian call center, have decent enough service, and you get what you pay for. The seller purchased our warranty so we didn't have much say in it. They obviously went the cheapest route, so we have crap coverage. Well, not really, since septic isn't covered. But yeah, the base plan is pretty basic. Duh. Perhaps that may work for some, but as a brand-new homeowner, I'd of liked to have had more coverage. Read the fine print and you'll be fine! ;)

Checked out the Select Home Warranty website to review plans and had an agent call me immediately. The agent Fred was very professional, informative and helpful. Fred worked hard to get me the best deal possible and explained all of the benefits with the plan I chose. I would definitely recommend checking into in order to protect you and your home from major expenses caused by normal wear and tear. The agent advised that a technician sent out quickly to fix the issue on hand.

Abraham ** was beyond Excellent. This is the First home I have bought. He saved me money but more than that he gave me a great Peace of Mind. I am a Veteran and a Senior and Disabled. Not having to worry about my Home is a huge weight lifted off of my mind. He was understanding and knowledgeable in areas I am not. He is to be commended for a Job well done. Rep was very helpful and was able to answer all my question. He was also able to give me the best deal possible and explained all the add on options. He was very professional and knowledgeable of the product. We were able to come up with the best plan for me and my family to help protect us from appliance breakdowns. I needed to my fridge looked at because it was making a weird noise. You sent A&S appliance company to come look at it. They found the problem right away, and told us what it needed. Then they said they would report the problem to you, and you would call or email us in 2 or 3 days. You approved to get it fixed and email me the next day. I recently had my furnace break and an original subcontractor was assigned by Select Home. The original subcontractor who was assigned didn't want to complete the work. I contacted Select Home and was treated with excellent customer service and a new subcontractor was assigned. My customer service representative was very apologetic about the behavior of the first subcontractor and quickly had my account reassigned. The whole process from assignment to my claim being approved only took a few days. Thanks Select Home for being there.

Not happy with Select Warranty since their service is slow and do not take care of the problem. They promise but do not deliver. This is one of the worst warranty service I have ever. Great prices and deeper discounts after talking with Abraham. Best prices for coverage and lowest service charge around. Answered all of our questions and made it easy to make a choice. Great monthly rate. After signing up we still got more discounts and savings. I would highly recommend this home warranty company. The price got even more reasonable after we signed up. We are getting an additional $100 off the price. Great price for a service call. Almost half off as compared to most home warranties.

Very friendly and informative assistance! Greatly satisfied with the service. I am glad that I end up with 5-year warranty plus one year free service. I placed a claim on 1/16/19 when my heat went out. On 1/17/19 a contractor was assigned and I was told I would get a call to make an appointment within 24 hours. I did not receive a call. On 1/18/19 I called the company (Greenhow Home Services) as instructed and left a message. I did not receive a return call. I called again on 1/19/19; it was cold and my heat was out. Still no return call.
When the temp went down to 17 degrees on 1/20/19 I had to leave my house to stay elsewhere. On 1/21/19 I called the company TWICE. I also called Select home warranty. They were unable to reach the company but said they would follow up with me. Neither Select nor the company called me back. On 1/22/19 I was cold and extremely frustrated. I called both the company and Select yet again. Select responded by assigning another contractor on 1/23/19. This contractor ALSO did not EVER call me for an appointment or return any of my calls. I left over TEN messages.
Again calls to Select; again another contractor assigned. AGAIN absolutely NO return calls from contractors. It is now 2/5/19, THREE weeks after I filed the claim. My heat is still out and I have had no calls from Select to alleviate the issue. Every time I try to call them I am on hold for at least ten (sometimes twenty or more) minutes. I have had no return calls from any of the contractors assigned. This is the most unprofessional company and contractors I have ever even heard of.

Just signed up as new customer. Account representative (Sol) was polite and informative as well as being very patient. He provided me with his name and extension number if I had any question. Company was recommended by a friend who thought highly of you. I hope I have the same results.

Worked with Bruce who gave me a very good deal over what I had with Sears. I haven't had to file a claim yet so I can't speak to that part of the service but Bruce was very knowledgeable and worked to get me a few extra discounts. May have been a little upselling for a longer coverage period (with option to cancel any time) but knocked 25% of total and about 40% of the service fee. Spent more than initially planned but we'll see how it goes.

I am not sure of the agent's name, he was very cordial and very informative, I did not have any problems with him at all, if my experience with the company goes as well as it did with him, this will be a good relationship. I will be offering this service as an additional option to my renters that are in my rental houses. If everything goes well with your company, I will refer friends and family to you.

I received great customer service from the moment I contacted this company. Sam ** answered all my questions and called me back at my convenience to follow up. The coverage that I selected is just what we need and the cost is worth the peace of mind for us and for prospective buyers. We received our contract in a timely manner and receiving 2 free months is a bonus we had not anticipated. It's hard to find a company that will go out of its way to provide quality customer care but Select Home Warranty seems to o just that.

I just signed up for their service online via the website. Jonathan was quiet, polite, a bit hurried, but offered to split my yearly payment in half. I had originally opted for monthly payments. So that is why I gave 4 stars for now. I hope in the future, I am able to give 5 stars for when I actually call and need them. I have read the reviews and a lot of people seem to believe that the "5" star ratings are bogus. As a consumer you take a risk and have to hope for the best.

I had a very knowledgeable salesperson call me immediately upon asking for a quote. The quote seems very fair, so I'm going to try this out. Jeff ** is the name of the man I spoke with. They cover everything I need covered, and the roof coverage is new, have never heard of that before. I think it's fantastic.

Daniel was nice to deal with. He gave me a number of options to help me try to save money, and let me know where he thought I might not benefit from a coverage. He was never pushy, and documents were sent immediately as promised. Overall a good experience, and a good price compared to other companies. Annual fee and service call fees were lower than competition. He quickly corrected an issue where the contract didn't reflect something I was told during our conversation.

The customer service representative was very helpful today. The phone call wasn't long and drawn out. He answered my questions, and got me the best deal that he could. He also provided me with different options for payment. I was also able to make additions to the contract for an additional cost to me. I was very satisfied with his knowledge of the services provided by Select Home Warranty. I purchased the Platinum Package and added my spa for less money per month and the deductible is also less than my current home warranty which will expire in nine days.

Bruce ** was helpful and kind and spoke with knowledge and customer service is helpful and I’m glad you cover water sprinklers systems and roof that was a complete plus and when Bruce told me that and all the promotions I was happy but could not pay a big chunk because I have two kids in college but thank you for everything. I called on Dec 24, 2018 for service. I was told on several call to get my own repair person and I would be reimburse for what I have to pay out of pocket. I did not get service until I reached out to Sears to come out to repair my dryer on Jan 16, 2019, I then email the invoice to SHW, and now I'm being told I only get a $150.00 in refund. My total is $288.70. Now I'm being told this company don't pay for labor charges.

Sump Pump Call - Sent out local tech who was timely and efficient. Fixed my issue on the first call. They were will to assist and get me to where we wanted to be with the process. The tech was nice and assisted above and beyond what was asked. The overall SHW service beats my former warranty company and is perfect for what my family needs. I would definitely recommend them to anyone in the market for warranty service- can't beat the cost/value.

I was searching for a good home warranty to replace one I already had that was not meeting all of my needs. Select Home Warranty not only a perfect package for me, but the cost was less then I was paying with the other warranty company, they answered all of my questions, and have been very easy to work with. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a good home warranty program. They have many different options, at affordable prices, excellent reviews and are very responsive. This was our first claim. There were a few bumps figuring out exactly how to proceed. We did not have the contact numbers handy when our freezer full of food failed. However, once we made contact, service was swift & professional. We explained the situation and they were quick to get right on it. I recommend getting all contact information before you need them. Overall it was a very smooth experience. We have no regrets.

On 1/16/19 I called the claims department to report that my kitchen floor was flooding every time I used my washer. They emailed me with Van Franey Plumbing as a plumber and told me to allow 12 hours for the plumber to contact me. He never did. I found out they are out of Fort Myers and Cape Coral and I'm in Port Charlotte. On 1/17/19 they emailed me Ryan's Plumbing LLC. I waited 12 hours per the email and contacted Ryan's Plumbing, they said they were located in Sarasota and do not to Port Charlotte. I called Select again on 1/18/19 to let them know Ryan's Plumbing LLC does come down to Port Charlotte. They emailed me again on 1/21/19 with Warrem Plumbing. On 1/22/19, Select emailed me again with Warrem Plumbing as the plumber. I called Select and told them Warrem Plumbing never contacted me. Select called me back and told me Warrem was booked up and wouldn't be able to take me as a customer.
On 1/25/19 Select emailed me and gave me Ryan's Plumbing LLC again. I called Select and told them they already gave me Ryan's and reminded them that they don't come down this far. Mind you that each time I called the recording stated they were experiencing higher than normal call volume so I had to request a callback. Select suggested I get my own plumber and then call when they determine the problem so they could approve the work. So I called Titanz Plumbing. They scheduled me for 1/28/19. They came out and cleaned all the lines but the floor still flooded in the kitchen. They determined there was a break in the line under the slab in the kitchen.
We called Select and they talked to the technician. By this time, the problem also progressed to the kitchen sink flooding the kitchen floor and since I had to use the laundromat in town to do my laundry, I told them to go ahead with the repair. They decided it would be most cost effective to just bypass the break and run a replacement line to from the kitchen and laundry room to the sewer line in front of the house.
Bottom line. Customer service at Select is not very effective. Not to mention, they have a clause in the policy below the line breaks section that caused my claim to be denied. (6.3.1. Plumbing System. This Agreement covers the following plumbing system components: (i) line leaks in water, drain, waste or vent lines not caused by damage resulting from freezing or from roots; (ii) line breaks in water, drain, waste or vent lines not caused by damage resulting from freezing or from roots; (iii) toilet bowls; (iv) toilet tanks; (v) toilet flushing mechanisms; (vi) angle stops; (vii) risers; Excluded: (i) water softeners; (ii) slab leaks; (iii) polybutylene pipes. Funny they should offer this policy in Florida, since most of the sewer lines are under the slab.
I told them the policy is deceptive since you don't get the policy to read until you pay for it. You only get the cover page that says "Plan selected: Platinum Care. This Select Home Warranty coverage plan will protect the following home systems and appliances: refrigerator, plumbing system, plumbing stoppage, microwave oven (built in), heating system, water heater, stove/oven, clothes washer, clothes dryer, A/C, cooling, garbage disposal, garage door opener, electrical system, ductwork, dishwasher, cooktop. Ceiling fan. Pretty slick, huh? Read your policies well my friends. I didn't even notice it didn't cover slab leaks because it was several spaces below the line break section. Shame on me. Luckily I had enough money in my account to cover this $4500 cost but most people don't. I wouldn't recommend this company to my worst enemy.

Overall my expirence with SHW has not been good. Claims are submitted, and if they are denied you are not informed until you call back to check on the status. Depending on what is described to a customer service agent, they may decide it sounds like the issue with the appliance isn't covered so they won't send anyone out. If I'm already paying for the service call, I should at least be able to have someone come out to verify that the issue isn't covered and give me a quote. Customer service is basically non-existent. I've been bounced around several times to different agents until I was finally transferred to a manager after 2hrs. I've also been given the auto call back when an agent is free, only to never be called back. I've had other home warranty companies with past homes, and never had an issue with them. I can not recommend Select and will not use them in the future.

I read the fine print about the contract and told them I did not qualify because I did not have repair records on my air conditioner. They agreed to waive that requirement. I had an extended conversation making sure I understood exactly what that meant. When I made a claim several months later they failed to pay the claim because I didn't have service records. They just plain lied. I discovered they record their conversations and asked them to listen. I knew the conversation would vindicate me because I had taken copious notes. They then lied and said they listened when they clearly had not. I tried to use them twice and both times they had excuses not to pay. I wouldn't use this company unless you just like throwing away money.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR HARD EARNED $ WITH THIS JOKE OF A COMPANY... You will be on hold for long periods of time to submit or follow up on a claim. When you finally speak to a person they are working in an offshore Call Center and barely speak English. The contractors that have shown up at my home do not look reputable at all. They are been in their own personal vehicles, not work vehicles, do not answer the phone when you call them and are completely unprepared and unprofessional when they arrive. I am afraid to be home alone with anyone they have sent out so far.

I informed the salesperson that I was switching to Select Home Warranty from another company, with no lapse in coverage. According to the contract, the waiting period is to be expedited. However, that is not the case for monthly payers, although that is not specified anywhere in the contract and was not explained by the salesperson Sam. I had the misfortune of having the motor on my air blower for the heater go out recently. Select Home Warranty allowed me to submit a claim and then informed me that the waiting period was not waived and that I was still within the first 30 days from the policy effective date and they would not pay for replacing the motor. It took several days to get a supervisor to return my call. At which time, I was also informed that I would not be able to submit the same claim again after the 30 period was over, because now the issue would be considered a preexisting condition.

Abraham had good rebuttals to my concerns about free replacement. He offered me time to change my mind if necessary because of the BBB rating. He also added additional month for my father's military service. The price seems very competitive. I am impressed with the free roof coverage that covers roof leaks. Abraham was patient as I made phone calls to my mortgage lender to determine if my decision was going to meet the actual requirements.

Today I called Select Home Warranty looking for a quote on my home. Customer Service agent Mr. Sol ** was very informative, courteous and helpful in getting us the best home warranty quote for our home. He was a joy to work with. He walked me through the various coverage options available to us and helped us getting the best discounted rate possible and coverage for our home. He also explained to me that taking this warranty for multiple years as a package would save a lot of money for me over the long run and so I did. Cheers.

This obviously is a commission sales situation, because from the moment I went to your site for a quote, I started receiving multiple sales rep calls. I can't rate your service or your policy yet. Very pleased to become a member and being flexible in paying the annual fee in three payments. Was pleasant and took the time to explain the warranty in detail. I had another warranty company that wasn't at all flexible. They repaired the fridge twice for the same problem and charged me twice. Was not pleased with their response time either. It took over 2 weeks for them to respond to my request for service. I also like my new warranty because the fee allowed me to pay in three monthly payments and the deductible to me is now $75 versus $125.

Michael ** was very knowledgeable about covered items I had questions about electrical systems and plumbing systems, he explained what both were considered to be according to the home warranty. He then sent information I requested immediately and answered all other questions. I have suggested Select Home Warranty in the past to my real estate clients and neighbors. I have high hopes that when I have to use the service it is all I expect.

Alan responded very quickly to my web inquiry and answered every possible question I could imagine asking, plus a few that I didn't ask. We traded emails back and forth, and I explained exactly what I wanted. Fortunately, Select was able to accommodate my needs, and Alan was prepared with a professional response each time I put him to the test. He really understands your business. More than anything else, I appreciate Alan's helpful approach through multiple emails and conversations, without ever pressuring me to buy.

I was shopping around because I wanted a warranty on my rental property primarily for the peace of mind and of course the potential cost saving if a major item broke. I live in Chicago, and the rental property is located in Charlotte, North Carolina. A couple things that were important to me 1) A company that had a solid foundation and network of service people in the Charlotte area, for fast service. 2) A company that had a solid reputation for fixing things right the first time without having to make additional calls to the warranty company and also my tenant. The salesman was knowledgeable and persistent, he offered me many different terms and options, I liked that. I decided to buy from him because he came down on the price and I felt I was getting a fair deal.

The salesperson did a good job letting me know what options were available and took the time to explain the various coverages. I had questions about the waiting period, how much each service call costs and if it was cheaper to pay monthly or a one time payment. I have had issues with other home warranty companies in the past and am looking for one that actually covers and pays for what they say they do.

Initial phone call was easy. If you had filled the basic info online then the call process is made very easy. Didn’t have to ask for offers. The rep was not pushy or trying to upsale. He was very courteous and polite. I am very pleased with the service the rep provided in the initial phone call. Now hopefully nothing will go wrong.

I was looking for a home warranty and came across Select Home Warranty which was rated among the top 10. Purchasing the home warranty was very quick and easy. I went online and got a quote. I was then contacted directly by a customer service representative. Alan was helpful and offered to answer all my questions. He contacted me immediately with a special discount rate and offered options for payment. This is my first home warranty and so far so good!

The yearly rate was very good and the per service charge rate the best I had seen. I got the Bronze plan as I only needed to have my appliances covered. I paid extra to cover 2 extra water heaters. Making 3 total covered. Now I have a heating element out in one to find out that it cost to much for the warranty to cover. I should have stayed with my other home warranty. First American Home warranty is much better. The technician that came to my home was very polite and knowledgeable, and I can’t fault him for the bad coverage that select home warranty provides. My bad I should have looked at the fine print. Just because it says hot water heater is a covered expense doesn’t mean it is really covered.

Fred was very helpful in explaining the plan. As a new customer I can only state that the signing up experience went flawlessly. I was given some discounts, which were great. Leaky roof coverage, who doesn't need that! Obviously, I will know more once I use this service. I can't say that I look forward to using Select, because that means something is going to break, but I am hopeful that everything works out as well as detailed by Fred.

I am paying for the so called Platinum plan, but they refused to cover the repair of the ice maker within the refrigerator. I got the runaround for 2 days before they decided to tell me that it's not covered.

Yearly amount is very much affordable with low deductible and number of coverages. Apart from home coverage I also got roof coverage with any extra charge. Customer service was able to answer all my queries and assured me why Select Home Warranty is better for my needs. I am hoping that Select Home Warranty keep their words and provide me service on time without any giving me trouble when I need them. If I get service which they committed then I will continue having home Warranty service from them in future.

The company processed my claim fast enough. What kept me from giving five stars is I received an email putting the onus of locating a contractor on me. I wasn’t happy about that and for that reason, my equipment is still unrepaired. Trying to find a contractor who is willing to sign up with this company is easier said than done. Otherwise I would provide five stars. Now, to top it off, this form won’t accept my submission.

Representative was very professional and offered a policy that met my needs and expectations. I was offered 3 free months of coverage in addition to the twelve months of coverage. I haven't used my policy yet, but I hope Select Home Warranty will be fast to fix the problems whenever I need to submit a claim. I recently signed up for a home warranty policy with Select Home Warranty. The entire process of initiating this coverage was completely favorable. The representative I spoke with was very helpful and answered all of my questions very clearly and accurately. In addition, I think the agreed upon price for this coverage was very competitive. I would recommend Select Home Warranty to anyone who is in need of a home warranty. I have had Sears Home Warranty for 26 years. Recently they raised the monthly rate by $10/mo. They have become increasingly hard to communicate with long hold times and getting transferred multiple times. I decided to do research and find out what other plans are out there. Select Home Warranty kept coming up as a highly recommended provider. I selected 3 and researched the options and then finally called Select. Nathan took care of me efficiently and with respect and provided promotional discounts and an explanation of the options. So I signed up today and canceled my Sears Home Warranty.

Got someone out here as soon as possible and the problem is fixed (Heating Unit), what more could you ask for! Fair price for things that "come up" such as this. Great peace of mind to not have to worry about potentially super-expensive repairs. I would definitely recommend this to anyone that does not have home warranty coverage, otherwise, you may have to pay WAY MORE out of pocket expenses when the time arises. Overall my service experience was good. The agent was able to give me a good price, compared to what I am currently paying for my home warranty through another company. What I do not like is that I was told that I would get a copy of the policy sent to my email, and I did not receive it. I sent an email 1/6/2019 and I made a followup call on 1/16/2019 about not receiving a copy of the policy and was told it would be sent, and I still have not received it. I would like a copy of my policy.

After reviewing and comparing other companies I did find Select Home Warranty to have the best value. This company was the only company that called to follow up and offer any answers if I had questions. Alan was very nice and helpful. He let me know what was covered and what promotions they were having. The prices were also fair and lower than most other companies. Hoping that if I ever need to use my warranty that all the other staff are as friendly and helpful as Alan was. Will definitely tell friends and family to call him if they are looking for a home warranty.

Jonathan ** was very nice and helpful. He gave me his direct line and extension should I have further questions. He researched further discounts so I could afford the policy. He has sent the confirmation email and contract when he said he would. He explained everything I had a question on. He was quick with his explanations and didn't waste my time. He listened to my concerns and addressed them promptly and thoroughly. I had heard good things about Select Home Warranty so I decided to get a policy for my home. I went online to submit a claim and the first contractor they sent me was out of business so we went through the dispatch process again, which took two more days, and they gave me another contractor. When I call them, they said they would call back that afternoon. I never heard back so I called back the next day and left a message. The third day I was able to reach someone, and they hung up on me. When I called customer service I explained what had happened so far and they want to send the claim back to the dispatch department to start the process all over again. At this point it had been almost two weeks that my washer had been leaking and I called my own repair person. Not very helpful people.

Updated on 02/06/2019: After multiple phone calls and emails even having to send a photograph of my heating system and maintenance reports which I do not have because I had just moved into this property in August of 2018 the company is only reimbursing a $150 of a $500 repair bill charge. So why even purchase a home warranty plan from them, only look for excuses not to cover the repair bill.
Original Review: This company doesn't even deserve 1 star. They provided the worst customer service I have experienced in my entire life. At the end of the day I had to contact a company to come and diagnose the heating problem (which cost more) because 'Dan's Air' the company that Select Home Warranty scheduled did not even return my call after leaving several messages over a ten hour period. Even the Select reps said "Dan's Air' had a history of not being very responsive". But yet this is your contracted vendor that has a poor reputation obviously which is okay w/ Select Home Warranty- right. I guess 'Dan's Air' and Select Home Warranty believe that no heat in the middle of winter w/ Temps in the 30's did not require at a minimum, a call back & definitely they didn't plan on coming to my home to determine what was the problem.
Select could not even provide an alternative vendor even though I requested one- guess Dan's Air is the only heating A/C vendor they contract with. Buyer beware. Find another home warranty company who will provide quality service. Select home warranty is on the opposite end of that spectrum. FYI: Kudos to One Hour heating & cooling & Brian the technician. They understand what excellent customer really means. On a Saturday evening, within 1.5 hrs they responded, came to my home, diagnosed & fixed the problem!

The worst Home Warranty Company! Beware here. They make every excuse not to approve claim. They don't tell you you can't get your full started till after 4 months and 1 week! I didn't realize I had to wait that long and the Claims person said, "just pick a date you think that the problem started." I had no idea when it started and she said just pick any date. I didn't realize it was ONE day a before the 4.1 weeks needed for full claim. My work was $1800 and they only gave me $150. I had to pay the rest. This was enough to cover them coming out to diagnose. They get you here with low rates but it's bad! They don't tell this upfront!! Beware.

I called Select Home Warranty about a malfunctioning Hot Water Heater. This was the week before New Years. They told me because of the holidays service would be a little behind, which I understood. They gave my ticket to one of their "vendors." He never called. I called Select Home Warranty about this and they told me to call the vendor. When I called he had no record of my ticket. I then called Select Home Warranty back who then got my ticket to the vendor. The Vendor promised service on Jan. 2nd. Never called and never showed up.
I then got my own company who determined the water heater needed to be replaced. He spent 10 minutes on the phone with Select Home Warranty explaining the reason why the tank (it was 7 years old) had to be replaced. The next day, after he left and had disposed of the unit they informed that I had to take "pictures" of the old unit. After speaking to 3 different reps on three different occasions the story changed. The problem now was that since hot water tanks, according to them, last "15 to 20 years" it should not have been replaced by my technician and hence they would not reimburse me for any part of my expenses. This company is a scam. Stay away from them.

Updated on 08/02/2019: On January 4, 2019, our hot water heater's heating element stopped working and no replacement could be located so the entire hot water heater had to be replaced. When I call for the status of my claim (I have called 25 times and emailed 30 times since I can't get anyone to give me an answer), they switch me to a manager and then drop my call. They have not paid anything on my claim to date. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.
Original Review: According to our plumber, our hot water heater's temperature gauge malfunctioned so it quit heating the water in the tank. Select Home Warranty denied our claim, saying the hot water heater was leaking so they wouldn't cover the hot water heater. It was not leaking so there was no reason to deny the claim. They denied the claim before they even got the analysis from our plumber, which they said they needed before reviewing the claim.

I purchased a warranty with this company (SHW). After several communications with SHW, I received my Policy Holder Agreement 4 times (3 by email and 1 by mail) with an end date of 12/9/2019. SHW went in at some point after they sent me the agreement and changed my end date to 11/8/2018 without letting me know of course. Now, SHW is calling me to renew. I told them I didn't need to renew because my contract stated I was still covered. I would understand if they made an error and admitted. However, they rudely talked to me as if I changed the date on the contract. Additionally, I have had occasions were the contractors they used to fix electrical issues in my home, took my deductible and the money SHW paid out but never completed the job.
The contractor stated several things were wrong, fixed them all which still didn't fix the issue. They told me they needed to order a part then never showed up to replace the part and never answered the phone. SHW told me they could not do anything and I need to keep calling the contractor. After weeks of back and forth and requesting to cancel and get a refund, SHW finally found a new contractor, in which they wanted me to pay the deductible again. This is by far the worst company to deal with for claims, policies and any other issues you may find. I should have canceled them when I started to have the first set of issues. Please pay a little more and deal with a better warranty company.

I called in with my first claim request and customer service was good, but after 24 hours I still have not been contacted by a service rep to fix my maintenance problem. I am going to call again to find out if service is this slow all the time. I would hope your service reps would at least email you a contact within 24 hours to set up an appointment to meet and fix the problem. Evidently there is a loophole in the fine print that there is a thirty day waiting period until they will try to fix anything for you. I can't wait 30 days for a broken furnace.

Bought my contract March of 2018 and had an effective date "to be determined" note attached to contract so I could turn on the service at a later date. I called during the intervening months to check on my contract and always received courteous service. I had to call a couple of times to get contract revised with new owner's name and put a start date on it and to have it emailed to me but it was eventually done correctly allowing me to get to closing on time. Always had friendly service.

I talked with Adam and renewed my policy today for 3 1/2 years. Adam was kind and patient working with me and explaining how I could get a bigger discount by renewing for 3 1/2 years. He said he would send me the contract through e-mail. I rec'd the cover page for the contract, but didn't receive a contract like I did the last time. I'll be waiting to get the full contract on the e-mail Thursday or Friday. When do I get the free month?

Issues again trying to get resolution like normal! My ticket was issued three times to two different companies and I still had to contact the receiving vendor because SHW had the wrong email address on file so I had to do all the leg work like normal. I have never had an easy ticket with SHW and come to find out 9 am EST is too early for a tickets to be authorized since they told me they don't verify tickets until 10:30 am. That is ridiculous.

I researched the best home warranties online and was comparing the #1 (American Home Shield) & #2 (Select Home Warranty) companies listed. Abraham ** from Select Home Warranty called me after I entered my information online to get a quote. Although I was interested in a one year quote he provided me with an excellent deal on a 3 year quote. I have owned my home for 2.5 years and know I will be here for another 3+ so I couldn't resist an incredible deal. I have not had a service call yet, but with all of the positive reviews I am sure I will be satisfied if needed.

Just signed up and while looking through the fine print I noticed that it does not cover the ice maker on your refrigerator. Also seems to not cover the sump pump in your home. I'm going to continue to read and see what else isn't covered. It also would be nice to split the large multi year plan over the course of a few months instead of all at once or sixty days. Just saw that the sewage ejector pump is not covered. I hope that I have a good experience with this company and it does not turn into something that I regret. I am keeping my fingers crossed.

SHW was very accommodating when getting my furnace fixed. We tried more than one business and they continued until I was satisfied. We used an outside contractor to do all the repairs. I sent in my receipt and got fully reimbursed. I would recommend Select Home Warranty as they stand by their word. They are a very respectable company. I hope Sam is a representation of the quality of Select Home Warranty's product. He was friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and offered me all the options, but not pushy! The people you speak to lie to get you to believe one thing and then deny their lies when you talk to them again. They steal your money. Terrible service. It takes weeks for them to approve a job and even then you have to call and remind them you have a claim with them. They say it’s one service fee to come to your house even if they’re checking 3 different things. Then they check all 3 things THEN tell you it’s actually 3 service fees. They claim they’ll give you a credited service fee for the next time for the “misunderstanding” but you’ll never get that credit. Waste of money. An embarrassment to be associated with this warranty company.

I had not received my contract information via email. I originally called a few days after going into contract but did not receive an email with the info I requested. I called back 2 1/2 wks later to request it again but did not receive the email with my contract information. This time the rep told me he just sent it but I didn't receive it. So today Jan 30 after my 3rd attempt, the rep I spoke to made it a point to send me my confirmation email with my contract I went into in early January. I finally received it and we confirmed that my email address was correct the entire time. Hopefully this is the only glitch. I chose Select because of the customer service reviews... We are a hard working family and wanted extra pretection on our home. This sounded perfect. Our water heater went out... Claim denied. Our washer needed repair... Claim denied. Our heating went out... we were told to pay the $500.00 and we would be reimbursed within 24-48 hours. That was 4 months ago... we have been jacked around and put off. They have taken duplicate payments twice out of our account since trying to get payment. Do not even mess with this company. They are a headache. They hope that if they put you off enough you will disappear.

I called in the problem (Drain Stoppage) and was assigned to a contractor that was not affiliated with Select. He had just applied the prior week. When I called Select, they apologized and said they would reassign. I didn't hear back for 7 days. When I called back, I was told I could find my own plumber and I could be reimbursed. My plumber arrived, and I waited on the phone with Select for over 20 minutes to receive authorization for the service.

The service was good in all. Service person was nice, clean and neat at the job and friendly and informative about the oven and checked out the whole stove. Yes we told the service person the rest of the stove is working, she did a thorough job looking the stove top and the boiler thoroughly to work right. That will ensure no more issues at this time and no more to call them back out to redo the work. I still had to wait for the part to be ordered.

We called 1/28/19 to open a claim for a non working pool/spa heater. They said we would be contacted within 24 hours. We were not. Called them 11/29/19 to see what's going on. They said our claim had been denied. Asked why? Because when hubby called in he said it was "a heat pump"... which isn't covered. In OUR paperwork, my husband wrote down the claim #, date he called, and "pool heater", NOT HEAT PUMP. I explained my husband isn't a pool repairman and has no idea what's wrong with it.
They said "based on YOUR WORDS your claim is denied." I said, "Fine, change the wording." "Can't make changes to a denied claim." "Ok, close that claim and open a new one with correct wording." "Nope, it'll be denied as a pre existing condition." I can pay a tech AT MY OWN EXPENSE, and if his diagnosis is a covered expense, then they will send a tech to repair and I still pay the $60 service call. In speaking to a local pool company, they said few pools actually have a heat pump. NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY! I have my credit card company disputing the contract as I feel they are not reputable. I would give them a lower rating if I could.

In my search to acquiring, my initial customer rep was very helpful, informative, and thoughtful to my needs, which motivated me to sign up with the company. The only negative thing I have to say about my experience was the fact that discounts were not offered or suggested to me during our conversation. Three days later, I referred a friend to discovered he was given a military discount. I called the company back to inquired about the discount and to my surprise, the first customer rep was very rude and not helpful; however, I was transferred to another phone line without heads up but the second customer rep was extremely helpful.

Phone reps are very helpful. But, the claim was reimbursed at a low dollar amount. Much lower than needed to get repair done. Disappointing. “Cost of repairs exceeds the current value of your unit”. The two year old double oven/range is worth more than the cost of replacing a fan. I guess the pittance paid out is better than nothing. The reimbursement process is complicated, almost seems like it was intentionally designed to make it difficult to acquire the dollar amount due.

I had a contract with Home Shield warranty for over 10 years and found out that the new customers who sign up were getting better plans than myself. I was paying a service fee of 75.00 each time. So I was happy to speak w/ Allan at Select Home Warranty company who was knowledgeable and very kind. I just replaced my home warranty using Select Home Warranty. I cannot speak to the actual coverage, as I have not had a claim yet, however the purchase process and the coverage/price that I received were excellent. The agent worked with me to get the best of both possible and even shortened my waiting period from 30 to 20 days (my prior company went out of business without notifying us). I have had a few claims and both have went smoothly. I have been pleased and satisfied with the service. I would be inclined to pursue the services of Select Home Warranty in the years to come due to the great service. It was a little disappointing that the email communications were kicked into my junk or spam folder and I was unable to retrieve them. This caused the repair to be postponed until receipt of said communication. However the customer service in the meantime was very good.

Technician was very knowledgeable about his work and was quick in solving the problem with my heater. He arrived on time. He made suggestions in keeping the heater running accurate throughout the winter. Due to the cold weather when I called the office the secretary was kind enough and concern to expedite the call due to no heat in the area of my home. We had an issue with our A/C unit. When we called Select Home Warranty, they were on it right away. Within minutes we had an email indicating that a contractor has been assigned and would be in touch with us. That was exactly as it happened. The coverage is competitive to other home warranty. I have the platium plan and the extra two months and the service charge is a great promotion and the price is unbeatable it is a great deal. I called the plumbing problem in on a Sunday so it took a couple days to get assigned a company. The company came out and did a thorough job in evaluating and fixing the problem. The person I spoke to was very efficient and pleasant to talk to. He answered all my questions. He explained everything I needed to know about price, what was covered and the up front cost if I ever have a claim. I didn't expect the call so quickly (as it was a Sunday), but, it was handled all in the same day. I thought it was $450.00 for just signing up, but, he told me that was if I done the up front payment and not the monthly payment. He saved me $50.00 and 2 free months of service. The only thing I’m frustrated about is that he told me that when I call a technician it will be $60 but when I called to schedule a technician, it turned out I have to pay $75. Also, it’s annoying that the first month I pay I can’t call a technician if there’s an issue. I have to wait until the first month is over even though I’ve paid.

Put in a claim for a clogged main drain. It has been six days and SEVERAL phone calls and have still not had a contractor assigned. Customer service was a joke. They read from a script. I asked to speak with a manager or higher and they would not let me. Called to cancel the policy and that rep also read from a script and said her manager would tell me the same thing. To add insult to injury they are charging me a $75.00 cancellation fee. I will never recommend this company to anyone.

Now my ice maker went out and they won't cover installation... Really??? Save your money, chances are you won't spent $500 a year on repairs. I put in a claim for microwave that is broke- denied claim, AC does not work - they do not cover coil repair - denied claim, Fridge- leaking water, line is broke- denied claim, washer machine tub is broke- denied claim they don't replace the tub, garbage disposal said they would reimburse only 75 for a new one which I bought, they do not cover install cost 100$, sent in receipt 4 weeks ago. Called the other day for an update. Kept me on hold for 20 mins, said I needed to fill out a form which is BS, never said anything about this form in the original e-mail stating the 75 reimbursement. Still no check asked to speak to a supervisor. They said the supervisor comes in at 11:30 am, also the contractors they sent out are all scam artists, read the reviews on the companies they use. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. ALL THOSE REVIEWS ARE COMPLETE BS. TRUST ME. THEY SHOULD BE SUED AND PUT OUT OF BUSINESS!!!

Furnace went out, called Select Home Warranty, was on hold for 30 mins, spoke to rep. They immediately found a maintenance comp. Maintenance diagnosis problem. Submitted problem to company. Was initially disappointed because it would take 24 to 48 hrs for approval to fix but since it was the weekend it actually took 4 days. I had to submit pictures and maintenance records. Eventually it was approved and I was very happy. What I missed on the contract was the fine print in section 9 that talked about maintaining maintenance and cleaning records. Broken garbage disposal. 2nd time I've used my policy. I prefer this method than to waiting for weeks for a tech. that never shows up reschedules still doesn't show I waited months last time. Never have I experienced such a scam. I bought this warranty due to the extensive coverage and (somehow) because they were noted as best in service. They told me my water tank would be covered. I experienced a huge leak and my policy states they cover parts and components that contribute to the function of the unit. They told me that because it is leaking it wouldn’t be covered. Seems a bit contradictory to me.
They also wanted me to wait 24-48 hours for one of their technicians to come out. It’s 40 degrees here, so that’s just unacceptable. They also told me I could use my own plumber but they may not be approved. It’s just a scam through and through. Good luck escalating anything too. They give you every excuse in the book. They could of done what was right and replaced the unit which my policy said was covered in big CAPITAL letters. They send you all of these pages of fine print loopholes after you have your policy.
Biggest waste of money and just a completely disappointing and dishonest company. Save the cash from a home warranty and put it in savings. Less stress in the long run and you don’t get the runaround. Don’t slice what the sales reps tell you. They will call you relentlessly and hound you. But when you need to file a claim they are nowhere to be found. I purchased a policy with them and for the next 5 days after I still got sales reps calling me trying to sell me a home warranty.

Chase ** was very understanding and professional to convince me that a home warranty is what I should get. He was especially helpful in setting up my payment online vice over the phone. Just 2 days ago, I gave SHW raving reviews, until today, when I was denied a claim on our hot water heater. We closed on our home 11/5/18. The house was not brand new. When I bought this warranty, the salesman assured me all components would be covered. That was very misleading. The plumber they sent out on 01/21/19 said that the hot water heater coils were corroded and would need to be replaced. The claim was sent in to Select Home Warranty. I got an email from them yesterday 01/23/19 denying the claim, much to my surprise. Now remember we just closed on our house on 11/5/18 and moved into the house on 11/12/18 just a little over 2 months when the hot water heater started having problems.
After all even under the contract on hot water heaters is says that coils and such are covered. BUT now here comes that one little stipulation that they do not tell you about when you buy a warranty from them. Under section 9.1.2 it states that they will not cover any repairs if a unit was not maintained and failure to properly clean whatever it is you are trying to get fixed.
Now when we moved into our house, the hot water was working and we thought all was good. But since the unit was not maintained properly by the previous owners evidently, not sure how you're supposed to clean the electric coils on a hot water heater. We were denied the claim to have them cover fixing our hot water heater.
Be careful and make sure you understand exactly what will happen if such and such go out. I can see them using the clause on 9.1.2 to keep from paying for numerous repairs. Select Home Warranty should advise the consumers that if you buy a used home, unless you have papers showing whatever breaks down was properly maintained that item will not be covered. I only wish we had been informed about this policy to start with, we would not have wasted our $613.00. I am not giving up on trying to get them to repair our hot water heater, and will update this review "IF" Select Home Warranty does the right thing.

Richard ** customer service is second to none. I originally called into the company seeking a free quote and I was greeted by a very rude and abrasive individual. That individual left with me a sour taste in my mouth but something told me to call back and that is when I got Richard. He went over policy information, coverages and the service call fee. He explained everything throughly to ensure I made an informed decision. Richard is a great asset to this company and if it wasn't got him I would have not bought a policy. He should be commended.

I had an opportunity to review several plans offered by several companies and I chose Select Home Warranty because of their wonderful customer service personnel. None of the other companies even came close. They answered all of my questions and offered an additional discount just to make sure I was satisfied. Great job! Good Morning! I was the first to reach out regarding the claim of having no heat but I never received a response. Then, I had my mother, Charlotte ** reach out who, while on the phone, filled out the proper information regarding the claim was instructed on what to do and that the claim would get paid out. She called to follow up only to be informed that a claim never came through and she had to fill out/submit all the information over again via online. So, for a first time experience it was not good. We called a repair person due to it being Christmas Eve and the house was below 50 degrees in the house, it was freezing.
We were not informed we needed to contact our Home Warranty first; I am assuming because this was considered an emergency there will be some leniency but I guess not. We were told over the phone, via the first person we spoke with the claim would get paid out to only find out, we will not. We were just informed of the process and moving forward, we will make sure to do so. Very disappointed in the inconstant information received.

Salesman was very nice to talk to. Double checked to make sure that all of the information was correct. Did a great job finding the exact plan that I wanted and giving me the best price. He went over what I was getting and what I could upgrade to. He did not try and push extras on me when I said no but wanted me to understand the extra benefits. I would recommend this salesperson to anyone else trying to find a home warranty.

I had questions and they answered them but didn't keep me on the phone forever. They were quick, honest, and to the point and that is what I like! The plan I was looking at didn't have everything I was looking for online but they added it over the phone. I looked at several companies before I chose them and the price and reviews were better for this company! I am happy with my choice.

Called in to purchase and the sales agent made it very easy and respected my time. He offered me other options and broke them down to show the best value. Every question I had he was able to answer very quickly! This was much less expensive than my current home warranty which was covering me for things that I did not even have in my house.

Sol ** was very helpful in initiating my Select Home Warranty contract. I would recommend him to anyone. He explained the option carefully and walked me through obtaining my best option. I look forward to experiencing a high level of support with any home issues. The options I was given helped me obtain the best value for my situation by including all the privileges I earn as a senior citizen and retired military member. My only negative so far is that I had to send a follow-up email to receive my contract via email.

The phone call was very informative. The information we received on the phone was very helpful, gave us many options for payments, we were happy to just pay yearly. However, we were suppose to receive an email receipt for our Visa card payment. As of today, we have not received it. Also, our warranty expired in May 2018 and we just notified in January, 2019. Maybe we should have been on top of our expiration date. How do you notify us of our upcoming expiration.

I was given great customer service and signed up for a contract today. Abraham was very helpful and knowledgeable. The pricing was very good and the coverage was a lot more than the other companies that are out there. I am confident that this company will supply great coverages if needed. I am please with the contract terms, pricing and charge per visit. I had filled out a quote form and before I even completed the form I was being called to help answer any questions I had about the warranty coverage and was helped in a pleasant way.

Great service, I am so happy to have working heat again! Service technician called and scheduled to come out within 12 hours. Pretty simple fix that could have been expensive without my warranty. I am grateful for Select! My heat was not working and the technician came out and only had to sand down the element and screw it back in, once he did that and fired the system back up the heat immediately came on and warmed the house. Technician stated that this does not happen often but when it does it is easy to fix.

I wish there was a zero star option I could choose. Select Home Warranty is a Scam of a company, they don't care about their customers or repairs. Like the saying goes, you get what you pay for except in this case you get even less... Way less. Beyond livid with how Management hides behind a foreign call center and avoid speaking to you. No matter what the stellar 5 star reviews say - do not choose Select Home Warranty. I am contacting my local channel TV Station so they can run a story on them to prevent them from ripping off more people.

I just purchased my warranty. I received a great deal on a three year plan and I hope that the customer service will continue to be as excellent as my phone call was from here on. Hopefully I will not have to use your services, but it is better to be safe than sorry. I have only my initial contact with Select Home Warranty to judge their company. The salesperson I spoke with was helpful in getting started and made me aware of a senior discount I was eligible for, which I greatly appreciate. I don't yet have an opinion on service because I haven't used them yet.

Daniel ** was the agent I spoke with on 12/20. Not at all pushy like agents from other companies I called. He also told me that the pool add on option included the spa IF they used common equipment, saving me some money. He offered this info even though I initially wanted to purchase Spa coverage. The Select Home Warranty Rep that I talked to was very straightforward about pricing, options and services (if a little bit pushy). He made the whole process fairly easy and painless, and Select Home was cheaper than the other alternatives I considered (at least after you ask for discounts beyond what is on the website). Hopefully I won't need the service (so I can't comment on the actual service itself) but I'm glad to have it if I do.

Very pleased with the customer service call I had this morning about a problem that occurred overnight at my home. I am waiting to hear from contractor. I hope experience will be very fast and professional. I am pleased we did purchase this warranty when we bought our home. I think it is a good warranty to have to give you the peace of mind when unexpected problems occur. I'm very happy with Select Home Warranty. They are very reasonably priced, really fast and easy sign-up, and I can't believe all the things that are covered under this warranty. Plus three free months. I almost went with another company. They didn't show me what was not covered until I signed up. Isaac was so helpful. He answered all my questions and also the discounts and special free two months by paying all today. With reduced deductible on calls. Great price overall. Was so patience with me. The convenience of everything at once. Isaac had to wait for a little while for me to get a card number for him. Wished it covered big air conditioners. I went online to check out Select Home Warranty coverage plans. I had barely looked around the site and received a phone call from one of their sales representatives offering me a better plan with a better discount and a lower service or trip fee than was posted on the site. I was impressed that they cover roof leaks as well as my free standing freezer, as most other warranty companies exclude both those items. I was happy to learn that I could purchase multiple years coverage and save even more and lock in my service or trip fee as well. Hoping I won't have to use the coverage but so glad I have it in case something unexpected happens. We are purchasing a home previously lived in and you just never know how other people maintain their appliances and systems. Very happy with the coverage they offer at an affordable price with the locked in savings for multiple years.

When you call and chat with customer service in my honest opinion they go above and beyond in trying to assist you when you have concerns about anything that pertains to your home warranty. They go out of their way to make sure you get someone out to take care of any problems with anything that you have covered through them. If you have problems with a technician they will rectify the problem in the fastest way possible.
