Got a good price on a new home warranty with the help of a customer service representative who was thorough and surprisingly not too pushy. I am Counting on the warranty to be a good one after having a bad experience with a different company. Follow through was good as well. I got the contract in my email shortly after I got off the phone. The salesman explained the policy and did a good job. I was happy with the response. Thank you.

I would recommend shopping Select Home Warranty if you are in the market for a home warranty. I have not made a service call yet, but I can definitely recommend Select Home Warranty if you are shopping for the best overall price. Select Home Warranty beat out all the big competitors on similarly set up plans. Select Home Warranty did not have as many services offered as OneGuard, but at almost half the price, I can live with that. Definitely quote the out at a minimum while you are shopping!

So far so good, waiting for a tech to contact me as no one has been out to the house yet to examine the non working refrigerator. It is an under counter refrigerator that suddenly stopped work. I made a call to Select Home Warranty and they have assigned my order to a service that is looking for the appropriate contractor to effect the repairs. As soon as I am contacted I can give more detail as to the professionalism of the visit and detail for what the problems were with the refrigerators as well as what specifically was done to repair the issue that the order was placed for. The order was quite detailed and hopefully after a careful review of the appliance they can fix it on site or order the appropriate parts in order to effect the repairs.

I was very pleased with my buying experience. The only reason I didn't give 5 starts is because I have not used the service yet. The agent I spoke we knowledgeable and addressed all my questions. He reviewed the coverage in detail on what was covered and worked with me on the service call price to fit my budget. I will update my review once my coverage starts and god forbid I have to use a service. Based on my experience so far I have no reason to think it will be great.

Very friendly and helpful. But a little pushy. I don't like someone saying I have to pay for 5 years all at once and then when I say no I'm given other options such as a lower premium that is lower than my first option. Reminds me of a car salesman when you do that. Just be honest up front please and say we have 5 options to choose from. I realize you're trying to make money, but you'll go a lot further with people if you'll treat them like they are intelligent. But I took a 2 year plan with 4 free months and am happy.

Our dryer suddenly started giving out a burning smell and was not drying clothes. Select Warranty was really quick in dispatching a mechanic. They worked according to my schedule, explained the issue to me and left only after I was fully satisfied. Well, even after the issue was just that I had loved the dryer too close to the wall, it was a good learning experience for me! All in all, I was very happy with Select Home Warranty as well as the local contractor network they have.

Was very helpful with explanations and answering questions. Went over everything that was included in the policy. Explained cancellation of policy if needed. Explained about the refund if cancelled. Added the roof leak. Told me he would email the policy explaining everything. I am hoping that if I need to use this policy that everything will go smoothly. He guaranteed that this is the best company out there for home warranties.

Sam did a professional job and clearly covered what was covered in the policy. He sought out that I was a retired military veteran and explained the 5 yr set fee policy, and I agreed that the military program would benefit us. Having contacted 5 other Home Warranty companies, Select offered the best coverage for the cost. Having to pay $2K+ upfront is a big chunk out of my budget. It would have been easier if I could pay off the policy in 2 or 3 payments.

The sign up process was very easy and Jeff seemed very knowledgeable. Pricing and copays were the lowest I found for the max amount of coverage including my pool and all of its components. Free roof leak coverage as well. We will see what the claims process is like but hopefully I do not have to use this anytime soon. Katy TX has a 7 hour response time as well, so hopefully anything needing fixing can be taken care of extremely quickly.

Lou is very courteous and friendly. He provided some good advice to maximize the washing machine for future use along with some unknown tips to the prolong life of the machine to keep it in prime condition, even though it’s fairly new, 17 months old. For example, to leave the door open whilst not in use to allow the air to circulate minimizing the concern for mold. There was a bit of a delay getting to us due to overscheduling but, other than that, good service was provide.

Fast response and repair on our furnace during some wicked weather. Professional service that explained what the problem was and fixed it and gave recommendations of what service we should to do in the future to keep it functioning well. Cleaned up after completion of job and took shoes off when coming in and out. This is the second time back for this service company on a different job that the service company excelled on almost everything requested.

The representative was very friendly and listened to my request. Upon asking for a service call, she explained it would be a waste of money to charge me a service fee and instead recommended putting that cost towards the purchase of a new garbage disposal. She also helped me set up a call for my clothes dryer, which was also arranged within less than 24 hours. Nice to talk to an actual person, along with the option of filling out a claim online and receiving confirmation emails for my records.

A signed up for a home warranty the previous night and I was left a very clear voicemail with specific instructions on how to get back in contact with my representative. I called later in the day while he was busy, so unfortunately I was left waiting for a few minutes, but he walked me through my options and had quite a few choices for my home warranty plan. I ultimately chose the best plan for me and my family, and I feel better about this decision than I did before.

I am very pleased with the communication and service I have received from Kevin ** at Select Home Warranty. He was able to provide me with a home warranty that covers my clients needs at a price we were very comfortable with. Select Home Warranty was one of the only companies that will cover sprinkler systems and that was very important to my clients. They also have a twenty four hour service line and a very low price for service calls. I would highly recommend Kevin for your home warranty needs.

I was without heat in the middle of winter. My house was quickly getting very cold, because of the fridged weather. I was able to get an order # online, and waited for the company to call. The heating and cooling company called in a few hours, and a serviceman showed up, fixed the furnace, and I had heat later that day. Thank you Select Home Warranty. Thank you Sun Heating and Cooling. I was happy with the results and would recommend these companies to a friend.

Jenn-Air gas cooktop stove repair - Found the number for your company. This is the first time I have had to call. Explained what was wrong. Jonathan ** was extremely knowledgeable with my account. He connected me with the claims department. The claims department asked me questions so they could connect me with the correct people here in Portland. Added a new house on the policy. I would like to tell you how much I appreciate this company. This policy gives me peace of mind when owning a home. On my property is a cabin that I just put on my policy. I don't know why I waited till now to put it on but I finally got it done. We are on the same address but different houses of course. Armand, the technician sent to evaluate and repair our dryer, was congenial, thorough, fast and knowledgeable. The part that was needed had to be ordered from the manufacturer's warehouse. It arrived in just a few days and we were able to set a repair appointment in just another few days. Our dryer is again working like new and I would not hesitate to ask for KG Appliance in the future. When it comes time to buy new appliances like the refrigerator we will definitely need this summer, KG will certainly be our first stop. Thank you very much for this wonderful referral.

The worst I ever dealt with. Had to them assign 2 tech companies. One came out finally. Couldn't get approval from company. We both try getting in touch with them and nothing. They constantly read me the same script and no one actually help me. I just want to cancel and get my money back and can't even get that done without a hassle, haven't had heat for almost a month now. Ready to take this company to court.

I am very happy with the plan offered to me. I accepted it. I definitely recommend Select Home Warranty to others. The rep got the deductible or whatever it was called down to an amount that I could afford. Also he answered the questions that I had. I'm very glad that I finally returned their call to find out the details and get it started. I look forward to many years having my home covered by Home Select Warranty. It is not made clear during the purchase process of this home warranty policy that the payout is depreciated value. I spent $700 for a 2-yr policy and have never used it. Now at the end of my term I go to use it and they say because my stove/oven is 5 years old they will only give me $200 toward an $800 unit. When I called to ask why all I got was "look at section 8 in your policy"... Problem is, I NEVER received a copy of my policy, EVER! I will NOT be renewing and am very disappointed in the lack of care to make things clear.

I was just looking the plan, and submitted my info. 15 seconds later, Jeff ** called me and gave me a really nice offer. He helped me find the offer that my friend had, that is, five years plus one year free. Jeff ** was so patient to explain the details and carefully checked all the information to make sure that it is correct. He also helped me purchase the Freon plan. So I could add Freon for free.

We decided to cancel our policy after having it for only four months given the experience we had in getting our one and only claim resolved. We purchased the policy because of the superb reviews and ratings posted for this company. I am sure that some are truthful so I can only address the issue that I have. Bottom line: I have been waiting for a reimbursement/refund check since January 8th, it is now March 12th and a check has yet to be issued. Staff are always very nice, tell you that that will escalate to the next level and you will get an email within 24-48 hours advising you that check has been issued. This never happens!!! Staff do a very good job in "stalling" as obviously the company is doing all that it can to not refund monies owed in a timely manner with hope that customers just give up!

I process human remains for the Dept of Homeland Security and deal with people during their experience in family life. I called Select Home Warranty and received a case number for service (Samsung Electric Dryer stopped getting hot and not drying clothes). I received an e-mail advising that Triple D had been assigned to repair the dryer. Mr. ** from Triple D called and scheduled my repair for the next day. Mr. ** arrived and was very courteous, professional and knowledgeable. Mr. ** only charged me my deductible which was $45. Select Home Warranty and Mr. ** from Triple D exceeded my expectations and made my claim and repair (within 24 hours) a delectational and therapeutic experience! Was simple and easy to get my home and appliances signed up. Being able to transfer the home warranty if we sell our house is a great relief. It’s also comforting to know that our new home warranty will fill in the gaps in our homeowners insurance. We have had this policy for a short time now but all is Going well so far. We shopped around and checked. All sites for reviews before making a decision with this warranty company. We haven't had to put a claim in yet. I will follow up later on if and when we have to. We picked this company because it included all the appliances we needed covered. It included our ceiling fans, garage doors, garbage disposal and a lot more.

Adam was very professional and easy to work with. He help with all aspects of signing up for the policy. We switched over from AHS - American Home Shield. We reviewed the ranking and found that Select Home Warranty had the highest ranking so that gave us confidence. We would recommend them to others. We also took advantage of adding the pool and spa. He offered us a multi year discount and we took advantage of that as well.

They were the first company to call back me when I sent out inquires to several home warranty companies. The company that I went with last year cost much more and their renewal price was outrageous. They didn't even call me or appreciate the fact that I never even made one claim during the past year. I feel companies should reward you for not making claims when you renew. AC not cooling. Called to set up an appointment for repair. Received appointment in less than 12 hours. Waiting for technician at present time to come out and fix problem. Customer service was knowledge and extremely nice. He explained to me in great detail the process of getting my AC repaired and how the technician would be dispatched and what company the AC Technician would come from. He also explained the process of the technicians and how they may contact me and their telephone how I may contact them if I needed to do so.

Customer Service Sales was very informative and helpful in determining contracts. He listened to issues I was experiencing with previous Home Warranty company. He explained monthly charges and discount with two properties. Thirty-day wait for contract onset was also discussed. I would like to refer to friends, but not sure if referral carries any incentives. Salesman reviewed our conversation and asked if I had any additional questions or concerns. I felt confident in initiating contracts for my own home and rental property.

After checking online for a home warranty company for the purchase of our new home I decided to go with Select due to their prices compared to other companies and due to the many items in the home that are covered. I was able to save about $100 compared to the other leading company and the $60 deductible was very reasonable. I also received an additional 2 months free and free roof coverage. I had options to extend the coverage for multiple years but I decided to decline it at this time.

This was the worst service I ever had in my whole life. My garage door opener broke, a repair company was called, they came out and said they could fix it, but I would have to pay for it up front. I got in touch with Select Home Warranty and they said I should only have to pay the deductible. The repair company said they didn't want to work for Select Home because they don't get paid.
I paid my $60 because they came out and gave an "estimate," but then my garage door didn't get fixed for 3 WEEKS! It was a constant back and forth with Select Home calling the repair company names and vice versa. Meanwhile, it was 20 degrees outside and it snowed 18 inches on top of my car because I couldn't put it in the garage. I'm elderly and handicapped. I had to slosh through snow and slippery conditions to get from my car to my house. 3 WEEKS! Can you imagine if this was my FURNACE that was broken in that weather?!?
Finally, after speaking to about 5 people from India who had no idea about the weather where I live, or about my claim, and who promised me the problem would be resolved the next day--it wasn't--a very rude customer service person named Yvette cut me off before I could even tell her the problem. She said she would look into it. Nothing. I called again the next day and got Yvette again! Just rudeness.
I finally called the repair company and BEGGED them to work with Select Home and please come and repair my garage door. They came the next day. I don't know how they resolved their differences. I hope the repair company didn't eat this cost. I will NEVER renew with Select Home. I will tell others not to ever sign up with Select Home and tell them what happened to me. Good luck if you do. I would have given 100 negative stars if I could have.

Though Nathan talked a little fast he was courteous and professional. He explained in detail the options and what the policies covered. The Company has excellent ratings and great options for policies. The cost of a home warranty with Select Home Warranty is a great deal and it is great that there is no contract or penalty for ending policy before the end of the term. So far this company is the best choice for our new home.

I was having an issue with my toilet. There didn't seem to be an incident, but it kept getting worse to a point it would not flush and everything I did would not work, so time to call the professionals. Select got me someone that was friendly, communicated every step of the process from first contact through finishing the job, and explained what they did and their professional opinion of the root cause. Being a quality assurance professional for an aerospace firm I know my way around quality, and this is it. Thank you Select and thank you Friendly Plumber Heating and Fire! Richard ** was the SHW rep I talked to that initiated our SHW policy. Richard was extremely friendly, patient, knowledgeable, and helpful. We ended up signing up for a 3-year policy vice a 1-year because of how convincing (though not overly so), professional, and credible Richard was/is. We love the idea of having a primary SHW rep to call vice a generator rep. All went so well that I have zero constructive criticism or any sort of negative comments.

Fred ** did an outstanding job of explaining the home warranty plan and promotional options. His assistance was excellent, and he carefully explained the operation and procedures for requesting a repair. His knowledge of potential systems failures was particularly good. We are looking forward to the peace of mind provided by having unexpected repair costs covered, except for the $60 deductible. William did a nice job informing me of how a long term 5 year purchase saves a lot of money. He got me all possible discounts. Very friendly and polite, would recommend to friend or family. Plan to keep this warranty and transfer it if necessary. Obviously just signed up so have no experience with a claim as of yet, but from their terms and reviews by others I expect it to be a positive relationship. Nice to know there is no cancellation fee if I decide to cancel.

Sign up was easy and the price was reasonable. When compared to other companies, their prices could not be beat. I decided to go with the platinum plan because it was a great value and fit my need the most. I read the reviews before make a final decision and found that many customers were very satisfied with coverage, easy claim submission and the quality of the service. It was somewhat reassuring to read the many positive reviews.

I turned in a claim (clogged toilet) this morning. Was sent an email asking me to call. After 20 minutes on hold was asked questions I already answered. Ridiculous waste of time and money. Hire some more representatives to give service or you will lose business from me and others. This is the third claim I have been unhappy with your service and how your foreign call service is inefficient.

My warranty through another company was about to run out so I started shopping around. Select Home Warranty company had great reviews and the price was great. I paid 150.00 less than my last warranty plan. Alan ** was great, super informative and answered all of my questions quickly and efficiently. It was a painless process. I would definitely recommend Select Home Warranty to friends and family for the purchasing portion. My roof is even covered! I will have to wait and see how the company fares when something goes wrong.

Just purchased the plan online. I can't rate something I haven't used yet. I was quite pleased speaking with Alan on the phone to purchase your coverage, but that's all I can say at this time. I will always rate how things go, when and if I ever have to use this plan on anything in my home. Again, I haven't had to use this plan so I haven't anything to rate. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE. I was given multiple offers to choose from and all available discounts. I was given service call and annual fees for different plans and options. I've been wanting to get a home warranty, but wasn't exactly sure how to go about it. Now that I have one, I'm more at ease, if there's a problem with anything. I not only got a warranty for one home, I decided that I would get one for our second home as well.

Our claim was easy and fast to schedule. We called the 800 number and scheduled our claim. We were contacted later that day for more information about the claim. We then received a call from the technician to schedule the work. We did not have any issues. Technician came the next day and made the repairs. When technician was done, he got paid and left. There wasn’t much to go wrong here. I look forward to using the service again in the future!

Got a good quote on a home warranty was very reasonable with the monthly payments and deductible. This coverage covers a lot of thing that that could go wrong within your home. The people I spoke to were polite and informative. The process of finding my own technician and hopefully following all of the guidelines correctly to get reimbursed is irritating to say the least. I made this request on the 8th and my sink, in my kitchen has been stopped up since then. I would have like for someone to be able to come out and unstop my sink so I am not trying to wash dishes in containers, empty water with buckets and have my dishwasher back up all over the floor. I appreciate the fact that this time of years, plumbers might be more busy.

The call came in very quickly after the online filing. The caller was courteous and precise. She took the information she needed, and answered questions that I had. She was sympathetic about the loss of cooling from our air-conditioner. The assignment of a technician was almost immediate after the call was ended. I was surprised that it was so quick. She also asked if there were any other issues that we might have before she hung up. I was very pleased at how quickly this issue was handled.

Contacted SHW for service on my AC/Heating Unit. I have my own contractor who is a certified member of SHW. The SHW Customer Service was understanding of this and told me exactly what I need to do with this. Very Professional and Courteous in their delivery. Also wanted to make sure I had an opportunity to ask questions before the conversation ended. I did ask several questions that was answered promptly. I was very pleased at the outcome and also the entire exchange.

The claims representative was very attentive to our Air Conditioning (HVAC) problem and quickly took my claim info. He was very personable and very professional. He took down all the information quickly and made sure everything was correct. He explained what the next steps would be and made sure I understood everything before we got off the phone. We purchased a warranty for our home and appliance and after a month, they declined all our claims and upon contacting them and trying to cancel our policy, they refused to return our money. When we called them they removed our policy from their system. This company is a fraud and we are very very dissatisfied.

On 2/28/19, I called Select Home Warranty (SHW) about service on my heating system. They said someone would call me. When I selected this company I went off their misleading website. I paid my premium in 3 payments (mistake). The website said after I called in for service, someone would call me within 24 hrs. (open 24/7). After I called in on the 28th, I waited until 03/01/19, to them call back. I was told that my work order was submitted to a company for service and to call them to get an appointment time.
I called the company. I was told that the earliest they could get back to me would be Monday, March 4th. I called back to SHW and asked them if they could assign my service to another company because I had my 80 y/o mother was in the house and no heat. It was 58 degrees in the house. I was told no, but I could find a company on my own. He said the company would have to arrive in the home, (In my opinion, if I was lucky, I might get someone out here before 16:00). I asked if I could get work done because my mom was in the house, and was told my mother was not this individual's problem. I called the Servicing company back on 3/4/19 and ordered a unit to be put in on 3/5/19, without approval from SWH because my mom needed heat.
We had already waited 5 days w/o heat. At 17:03 on Wednesday 3/6/19, I called SHW back and asked for a supervisor/manager. I did not get a manager on the phone until 19:27, over 2 hours and 20 min later. The manager was condescending and rude. After doing the listening part and repeating the policy over and over, he said several times that he wanted to end the call and did after the saying about four times. During the entire process, my questions were never answered.
Why did it take 5 cold days and over 2 hours on the phone to tell me my claim was denied. If I didn't have a claim, why did you give me a claim number. You knew the claim was not covered but yet you made us wait 5 days. Why do you claim you will contact me and I have to contact you about my claim. I admit the policy says the heat exchanger was not covered but it also said, "this agreement covers all components and parts of the heating system necessary for the functionality of the heating system". I believe the heat exchanger is one of the parts necessary for the functionality of the heating system. I never complained about the reimbursement, (Check your tapes). I wanted to know about the process of decision making. What took so long for a decision. Why all the rudeness.

I've been waiting 3 weeks for them to reimburse me for a claim that cost me over $385.00 because they couldn't find a tech to work on my refrigerator. I've called them everyday for the last two weeks and they keep telling me to wait 24 hours for their process to complete the review. The people you talk to can't connect you with the people doing the review and say they can only email them to contact you. Which they don't. Worst service ever.

Ralph ** was very helpful in finding the right plan for me. I'm starting out for only one year and it seems to be a fair price. I have never had a home warranty before so I look forward to do business with them. I was able to make an informed decision and didn't feel he was being too pushy. I did not shop around so I can't comment on that but Ralph assured me that they had the cheapest prices compared to all their competitors. I hope he's right!

I have made over twenty five calls on my "covered" washer and multiple correspondences to them and they won't fix it. Initially they offered me a 100.00 and said it was 35 years old. I resent the information and serial number - they didn't even have correct make/model which showed it between 8-10 yrs old and offered a $100.00. Horrible customer service - I have filed a complaint with the Attorney General's office. I heard they take advantage of people until they get tired of trying to get their claims paid. I am a senior so maybe they think it is easier to do.

In November 2018 I bought a warranty from Select Home Warranty and they drafted payments from my bank account every month. In January 2019 my dishwasher would not drain so I called for a repairman. After no one responded after waiting for 2 weeks They sent a repairman from Garys Appliance Repair in Niceville, Fl. We paid the required copay of $60.00. He said, "Oh your dishwasher won't drain. I'll order the part and be back." Another 2 weeks passed and he never came back. I called SHW and they said that Gary's had gone out of business so the repairman would not be back. I said but he took off with my money and I still have a broken dishwasher.
Another month went by with them still collecting my premiums and me still having a broken dishwasher. I called them daily only to be told to give them 24 hours to get someone out here. After 6 more weeks of waiting they sent someone from DC Appliance named David. He came out and said, "Your dishwasher won't drain". Really? He said he would order the part and be back. He did come back with the wrong part! He took apart the old part and tried to jerry rig it into one good part, took our $60.00 copay and left. The dishwasher still would not go through its cycle and stuck without draining. Again I called SHW who continued to keep taking my premiums and I still have a broken dishwasher. I decided to stop the bleeding of my bank account so they couldn't take any more money out of it until they fix my dishwasher.
Now I am getting a barrage of calls from SHW saying that I don't pay my bills. I said, "When you fix my appliance like I contracted to do then you get no more money from me." They said, "Well since you are no longer under contract for not paying we are under no obligation to fix your dishwasher!" I have been had. What a racket they have going on. I am a blind disabled vet and 74 years old. They took advantage of me and had no intention of ever fixing my broken appliances. There should be a class action suit against these scam artists.

Purchased this policy as a gift for my elderly Mother. The first claim was for a well, no response until she had to find someone else to repair it. The second is for her washer/dryer. Technician claims that the company is not cooperating, the company claims the technician is not cooperating. In the meantime my mother has to drag her laundry to a laundromat. I want my 500.00 dollars back so I can buy her some new appliances. Select Home Warranty is a bad company.

We went with this company because of the good reviews. The good reviews tend to be about buying a policy from them and not the actual service. The service was horrible. One of our burners stopped working on our stove and we called to have it serviced. The technician came out and said that he would put the information into SHW. SHW called us and told us they ONLY COVER THE PARTS AND NOT THE INSTALLATION! This goes against everything we were told, but there is a clause 9.1.2 in the agreement, which states they will not pay for any installation.
Initially our installation charge was going to be $360 + the $60 service fee. We called and complained and magically the installation charge came down to $110. We still complained because it was a quick replacement part, - literally taking a few minutes to do. We decided to cancel our policy and go with another company who does not charge for installation. Their yearly fee is higher, but we're much more comfortable with only having to pay a $65 service fee and everything else is covered. Just like we had thought it was with SHW. And - when you cancel - get ready for their $75 cancellation fee. You will also have to call in about 3-5 times and get very demanding for them to actually cancel your contract.

The person that helped me to select and transfer from my other company was amazing. He was so helpful. He was accommodating by having to make return phone calls to me due to other meetings scheduled. I can't speak highly enough of my expectations of this company. In checking with the reviews and speaking with other people that have Select as their home warranty company, and they love it. Been without heat for 6 days now. Still waiting on a service contact. He was unable to reach and he never returned my calls. The number in your system wasn’t a working number. Customer service kept telling me to wait for his callback but in the meantime I’m still without heat... with children in the house. My pipes could freeze them. I would have another service call. I’m very unhappy right now.

No heat on dryer. First repair person did not fix the problem, but they are trying to get it corrected. I had to call a few times to get them to do another repair order. I am waiting for them to send the new tech. out. I will have more to say when they get it fixed right. My father in law is in Hospice at my home so not having a dryer to wash his bedding and clothes has been a issues.

I first called SHW on 02/15/2019 for a problem with my Kenmore dryer. My request for service ** has been assigned to HM Appliances LLC, an authorized Select Home Warranty service technician. The technician came Saturday 02/16/2019 and he said that he doesn't know exactly what is wrong but I will need to replace a lot in order to fix the dryer. He said that 3 main components might be wrong and his advice to be all replaced. I paid $45 fee for the service. After 5 days, I start calling SHW but the operator told me that they haven't received the report from technician. I called the technician and he said that he already sent the report and he gave me the report number which I gave to SHW.
After another 5 days SHW told me that they received the report and now is in study with accounting. After 3 weeks today I received a message that I will be reimburse $125 for the value of my dryer. I want to mentioned that I paid USD 1,000 for the dryer 12 years ago and I didn't have any issue. In the contract is mentioned that you will replace the appliance with a new one. What dryer can I buy with USD 80??? I think this is the worst warranty company and I will never insure with SHW again.

I have just signed up for my homeowners warranty with Select Warranty. So far I don't have any issues. The cost is better for my family's budget than the company we have been with for two years. To be honest this is about half the cost than what we have been paying. Select Warranty was fast on getting a price quote. There are several others that I requested for weeks ago and no answer.

This is a great deal, especially if you pay for the year up front. I purchased it for a rental and I put in the lease that the tenant is responsible for the service fee in all cases except health/fire safety. This protects me against minor issues the tenant could fix and major issue is would have to fix. I have just had to use it for the first time for a squealing washer and so far, the process is a breeze.

The agent I spoke with Michael ** was very knowledgeable and helpful. He was able to provide me with the best plan to fit my needs. I had shopped around for plan that covered all my appliances; washer, dryer, fridge, stove, hot water tank and dishwasher. I was also looking for coverage for plumbing electrical and minor roof leakages. I was also offered a great price. The plan I was offered doesn’t have a pet applicable cap. In addition my garage door parts are covered.

They denied a my claim because my of "upgrades and improper grounding". I had the technician on the phone with them and the tech told them it was properly grounded and was not being upgraded, rather it needed to be replace due to a singed bus bar. Then in an effort to weasel out they claimed that it was not up to code and they do not cover any items that are not up to code. To which the technician replied that it was up to code. They then told me that the decision to deny my claim was final and there was nothing else they could do.

Would never recommend! Been without a working refrigerator since February 20th. Vendor came said was fixed next day had to throw away 100 dollars worth of food! Have called Select numerous times and was told vendor didn't submit whatever he was supposed to in a timely manner, and that became my problem. It's now March 6th and vendor called and can make it out next Tuesday so more time without refrigerator not to mention when he comes then has to order parts most likely it will be even more time. I work in property management and will make sure all realtor and management companies I know is aware of this experience. This company has no desire to make things right for customer.

Received a returned call within 5 min of filing my water heater claim and they let me choose the technician I wanted to come out to diagnose the problem, which I appreciated. Typically with other companies they choose a technician for you which I never really trusted that process. The technician I wanted is someone I know and trust personally so I was glad to find out this was allowed. Great service and efficient. From the opening automated operator directing my call, I was quickly (within 1 minute) connected with a customer service rep. She took down all of my information, asked me a number of pertinent questions so that she could give a detailed description of my issue to a plumber. Then she gave me my claim number and told me that I would be contacted within 24-48 hours, and I was! As of today, a plumbing technician is assigned to my case. Once my case has been handled, I will again review and rate Select Home Warranty on the follow-through.

Fast service technician was out within 3 days to repair refrigerator. I received email stating a technician had be notified within a day. Very happy. The only thing was that the technician had to come 100 miles and wasn't happy... and we waited all day for him. So if the tech lived closer we may have not had to wait until 5:30 for service. Read all of the fine print before you use this company and then don't use them. I signed up and gave them my debit card to charge. I was told from the sales guy that there was a 30 day waiting period. Not a problem. 33 days into my contract I had a pipe start leaking water into my home. No urgency on their part. After two days and talking to no less than 4 people someone finally told me there was another 5 day waiting period when you use debit cards. So not only was I not told about this, but they wouldn't cover it and it took two days for them to tell me that so I had water leaking into my house that entire time. 40 days into my contract my pool pump stops working. It took three days, but someone finally came out to look at the pump.
After another 3 days their technician sent over the diagnosis and my pumps needed to be replaced. After multiple phone calls to the warranty company they finally emailed me stating that they will not replace my pumps because there is another 30 day waiting period for replacing parts. They will repair items, but you have to wait a total of 60-65 days for replacement. I immediately cancelled with this awful company. They take your money up front (no other warranty company does that) and then you get the contract after they get your money, so you can't read the fine print until you are already hooked. Total scam! A very hard lesson learned. No refunds on your money either. They don't care. They don't even deserve one star.

Nathan ** was great in explaining features and benefits of the warranty program, and the incentives to sign up as an “Elite” member for 6 years were way too attractive to pass up. We have been with American Home Shield for the past 10+ years, in two different homes, and have increasingly become disenchanted with rising fees each year. Mark ** was a amazing to work with and slid us into an amazing deal! The coverage provided was perfect for our townhome that we recently purchased. The process was extremely easy and there was no haggle in opening up the policy. I would recommend it to everyone! The policy coverage for 5 years plus an extra twelve months for free for a total of 6 years is a no brainer! They provided many options for payment, whether it be a monthly plan or a single payment plan.

Heat pump fan and squealing shower - I’m very pleased with the service I received from Select Home Warranty. Select Home Warranty sent someone to fix both issues within a couple days. They ordered a part. I was sent a message regarding the part that was ordered and they returned to replace it. The heat pump fan has been working fine. The shower was repaired on the first date. The gentleman that came introduced himself arrived on time and explained the whole process to me.

I had a few issues with what was originally quoted and then was told that didn't apply to me when actually going to purchase, however overall great transaction! Looking forward to service for years to come on our new house! The only negative thing I would state is that after already setting up a quote and speaking with one agent, I kept receiving calls from another agent (even after telling the agent I was already working with my original agent) (and emails that honestly almost made me want to not go with Select).

Select Home Warranty is the worst company I've ever had to deal with. I wouldn't really call them a company. They take over 3 weeks to approve of a freezer repair when they know I didn't have use of the freezer. Select Home Warranty says they will reimburse me if I pay to have a faster repair done but they do the same thing with that, stall, stall, stall, forcing me to file a small claims lawsuit to recover my money. I would stay away, far away.

The tech called a few days later to scheduled a time to come out. Everything went very well after the tech made his appointment and evaluate the problem. The tech was very professional. I was impressed by a 9.3 rating, but the price break and warranty extension plus reduced service fee in the five year package was absolutely perfect for a retired widow living on a set income. After close review of my contract there are LOTS of exclusions/conditions. Their Google ad said I get "FREE roof coverage." Turns out it's "roof leak coverage" that doesn't include shingle repair. Huh?? I was inundated with emails and calls when I requested a quote. An issue with my credit card solicited even more calling. When I talked to someone, he was pushy and tried to get me commit to multiple years. Regretting my purchase already.

Heat system not working. Tech resolve the problem without me being there. My family was very happy with the servicemen. Jackson HVAC (Mike). We are very happy with the contractors. They are knowledgeable in their trades. I have been upset with the service but never with the contractors. There seem to be a disconnection. I having been getting mix information when enquiring about about my claim. It is unbelievable that it would take about a month to get a problem solved. Please tell me this is not normal business.

My washer was vibrating and making lots of noise that wasn't normal. I called Select and they told me to get someone to look at it. As it turned out, the bearings were out of the tub and basket forcing us to spend either $1347.00 for repair or get a new one. I chose new and Select approved it within 36 business hours. They were awesome to deal with to get me back to washing my clothes.

I just bought a new policy with SHW. I am happy with the policy and think I got a good price, but the only thing that I didn't really like is the price started at one point and when I said I wasn't ready to commit at this point, the price kept dropping. I just wish that the final deal I was given was offered right at the start. I don't really like when companies offer one price and then keep dropping it, makes me wonder if I should have held out longer and would have gotten a better deal still.

During our conversation it was made very clear that by paying the yearly fee it would result in a lower per visit charge. This was a very important feature although we don’t plan to need the service; however, the salesman convinced us it was better safe than sorry. Called to report problem with my heating unit. Not receiving heat to Master Bath nor back bedroom. Customer Service representative was very understanding of the problem. Asked questions and took information to submit my claim to the proper department. Assured me that I would hear from company who would come and review the situation. Had to place a second call about having my heating system worked on. No one called me or emailed me from the first time that I made the claim. I waited 5 days before calling the second time to get service. The customer service rep was nice but hard to understand. Both times that I called in. I was told the second time that I called that I would get an email within twenty four hours from a tech that will come out to the house and make the repairs. I will now have to wait even longer to get the repair needed.

Submitted claim for roof repair. On Jan 26th, contractor came out, inspected roof, received deductible. Never contact me again and I had to call him, he "stated he didn't have the money to buy the material". (Henderson Roofing - Columbia SC) I was VERY disappointed with their services. Also, he wanted cash, but, he had to accept my card. Since then, after calling SHW 4 time in the last month, I finally got an email (today) that my claim is being process for a new contractor.

My conversation with your representative was both professional.and productive. He allowed me to elaborate on a very negative experience with another Home WARRANTY Company. I wasn’t rushed and more importantly, he did not “badmouth” or say negative things about the Company I was complaining about. If I had one negative thing to say during our conversation, it was when I was told that things on appliances that were considered “cosmetic” such as racks in ovens or shelves in refrigerators etc. A repairman tried to fix my racks in my oven and now I am not able to remove them to use my self cleaning feature or to adjust the levels so that was a drawback for me since I paid over $3K for the range. But other than that I appreciated the fact that he was able to address all of my concerns.

Initially I was under the impression that your item value would be close to current market. This is not the case in this situation. You can't even purchase a garbage disposal for the $75.00 reimbursement you offered and I still have to pay for installation which is at least $100.00. Originally when I purchased this warranty the sales representative claimed the age didn't matter and that your company would take into consideration the fair market value. I don't expect the exact value but at least a fair market value. The average price I'm seeing is above $75.00. The lowest I've seen is $90.00.

When I called the guy I spoke with was very polite and helpful and he gave me the best quote I received out of all the other companies. I had a pipe break which needed to be repaired as soon as possible so I could turn the water back on in the unit. Select Home Warranty was unable to find an authorized service member to repair the broken pipe within the same week so they allowed a plumber of my choice to make the repair since it was under $500 and they authorized it on the spot. I had to pay for the repair out of pocket but they reimbursed me the full amount in about a month so it worked out.

It is a large up front cost for the 6+ years of coverage I purchased, but within 2 years the warranty nearly paid for itself due to repairs needed to my AC, Fridge, and Garage Door. There are other warranty companies that have no deductible but they don't cover nearly as many items and those warranties cost twice as much as I paid for this one. Overall I am satisfied with my purchase although I wish the turnaround time was faster for AC repairs than I experienced.

Microwave claim process went well. Replacement coverage was less than I had hoped for Based on what I received as replacement and coverage of costs to get the unit replaced I am concerned about future usefulness of the coverage from my policy. I doubt that I will renew the policy. I am not sure what the process is for computing the depreciation of the unit, but it was only about seven years old so if that is typical of the computed value then I probably wouldn't get very much considering the cost of the coverage.

The representative Ralph gave Excellent customer service, Ralph gave me the breakdown for the plan I chose in detail, Ralph gave me a good price for adding on services. My old warranty company didn't cover certain options that are already covered in select home warranties plans. Select Home Warranty covers so many more options in the home than other warranty companies they offer 3 year, 5 year and 10 year plans at a discounted rate to lock in and reduce your trade call fee.

Better value than Home contract that does not include appliances. Some competitors do not cover some things like a Geo Thermal Heating/Cooling system but Select Home Warranty does for a reasonable upgrade add-on fee. I have heard the commercials for this type of coverage plan and was curious about the extent of the coverage and the price for such a plan. When contacted by the service advisor he was very knowledgeable and was able to answer all my questions and concerns without a "let me check on that" moment. It's never nice to spend money for something you may never use but things do have issues with home ownership. This plan gives comfort for things that could go bump in the night.

The process was easy and Mr. Nathan did an excellent job of selling & explaining all involved in purchasing a new policy. He was willing to offer suggestions about value and incentives for seniors. He did do his due diligence during the process. We did discuss multi-family properties for additional saving to be reviewed in the future. So far the initial sign up was easy. The real test comes when getting some things repaired within a reasonable time frame. I realize what your company guarantees but my knowledge of contractor and the services industry usually suggest a period of scheduling for those repairs.

I chose Select Home Warranty because of all the good reviews online. When I filed my first claim for my dishwasher, I filed it online and received an email saying I would hear from someone is 48 years. 2 days later, I received an email saying I had to call them to explain the problem. More waiting time on the phone and the same explanation that I emailed originally. The agent said someone would be contacting me within 48 hours. So 4 days from my initial request and still nothing has been done.
A week passes and I hear nothing from anyone. I called them back and they say it was a mistake and they would get someone to call me within 48 hours. The technicians came out 5 days later and told me it would cost $500.00. Select offered to reimburse me $150.00. I bought the premium package! They told me they couldn’t reimburse me more because I had only had the policy 3 months?! When I went to cancel they charged me a cancellation fee and said since I had the premium for 4 months, I would get 1/3 of my $400.00 premium back. This is truly a ripoff. The technician who came out said they hate to work with Select and recommended I get a new home warranty policy with First American Home Warranty. I was also told that companies like Select buy websites to make it look like they have good reviews. A true SCAM.

This company is a joke. I'm waiting 8 days so far to get my furnace repaired. The first contractor they sent was sketchy, and he charged me more than the $60 deductible which I was told by Select was not supposed to be the case. He also never returned phone calls or even ordered the part which should've taken a day. I don't even think he's a licensed contractor!! I called Select to complain and they could care less until I said I wanted to cancel my policy, then they jumped to attention and said they'd have a new contractor assigned within 24 hours! I called 24 hours later and the representative said no request was put in and she would have to do it and I will have to wait another 24-48 hours now!!! I'm out the overcharged diagnostic fee, my furnace still isn't fixed, and it doesn't look like it's getting fixed anytime soon. They give you a major runaround like others have said, do yourself a favor and research other companies.

It has been ONE whole month since I opened a claim with Select Home Warranty to fix my refrigerator. They contracted a company that doesn’t keep their commitment. The technician was supposed to come between 5-8pm. He did not arrive at my property until 10:40 pm. The following day he came and said we need to order a part and demanded he be paid $75 in cash and would not give an invoice. When I called Select Home Warranty they just asked me to wait. I paid within 4 minutes of getting the invoice the following afternoon. Two weeks later, the first part doesn’t work so technician said we need another part. Select Home Warranty through the technician said they would make a decision to buy out my refrigerator - I contacted them and they said they had all pictures and information needed to make that decision and promised a conclusive email in 24 hours.
72 hours later there was still no word - when I finally called them myself, now they are saying they need the serial and model number of the fridge and need 24-48 hours after that to process the claim. All this when we don’t have a working fridge for ONE month. I don’t understand how they can explain that a technician came into my house and determined what part - sorry PARTS they needed to order without knowing the model and serial number of my appliance. And how they can determine it is ok to send things for review and ask the customer to wait for the review to be completed when they have not been able to make a necessity like a refrigerator work for ONE WHOLE MONTH.

They said it was fixed, so I tried taking the survey again. Once again it did not complete due to difficulties. I did still have to speak with a representative to finish filing the claim. We had bought a home warranty package with them (premium). We never get same day response, it takes several days to get s response from contractors. We recently had a problem with our sink. When we called them they said they would send a person out right away. It took two weeks. The contractor didn't complete the job, then came back again to cut a huge hole in the wall and cut out pipes just to say it would cost 3,000 dollars to finish. He said he would be back once we received approval from the Home Warranty company and the home warranty company is refusing to give approval so we cannot fix our bathroom. So we are without a sink.

I have many contracts with this company and trying to get a contractor scheduled is a nightmare. Most cases I get the standard response of, "You are welcome to find your own contractor." They don't listen to you and make assumptions so that for any reason, they can refuse to pay your claim. If you do decide to get your own contractor they leave you guessing on how to process the claims. They tell you 2 weeks after the fact that you didn't do it correctly and they won't pay the claim. If you do get a contractor scheduled, half the time they refuse to work with them. The customer service department refuses to pay and refuses to let you speak with managers. DO NOT WORK WITH THIS COMPANY.

I bought the Platinum Coverage the highest one they sell. But came to know only later even basic things are not covered. When I signed up I was told everything is covered. I was specifically told that garage, plumbing and appliances all are covered. The 2 claims I submitted were rejected saying it was not covered. These are basic things like in one bathroom shower cold water was not coming. There 2 specific plumbing coverage listed in platinum care. In fact Platinum care checks all the boxes and making you think everything covered. It is when I tried to cancel the policy, I was told I will not be getting any money back because there is penalty for cancellation and there are some complex things they calculate, so I might end up paying them to cancel the policy. Wow wouldn't that be fun.
Make sure you read the fine print and things you might expect are covered plus make sure the cancellation penalty and anything other fishy stuff they have in the contract, otherwise it is the money you throw in the trash. In my experience I have seen only companies which want to screw customers would have a cancellation fee while they can't even provide a service which they promise.

The agent provided several options which could help me save money overall and explained those options very well. I talked to Belinda who was a great help and answered all my concerns. I asked questions on how to submit a claim, the amount I would have to pay which was within my budget, and the service call charge I would have to pay. I received the contract within the time frame she told me. I reviewed the business online and it has good ratings which means a lot also. Some companies advertise a lot of things but don't end up giving you what you expected. This company appears to be of good value and reputation.

Very impressed and satisfied with the terms and agreement of my new home warranty and contract. I like that a have options of thirty (30 days) to make a change, or final decision, regarding this home warranty contract. I would like to acknowledge the salesperson, Jonathan **, very helpful, very informative and very knowledgeable. Experienced EVERYTHING done wrong, slowness, lateness, deceitfulness, incompetence, did not honor verbal contract. The only thing they did right was deceived me into giving them my money. They told me items covered would be replaced at today's value or repaired. When the item in my home went out, they said we only pay depreciated value of the item. So, for my item they offered almost zero and I am responsible for my own repair or replacement. This is NOT how Home Warranty Companies work. Rating a low negative number or F minus.

He did well finding discounts. I have had the service long enough to determine if it is a good service or not. The customer service was great. I did sign for the service. He found the military discount, the senior discount and several others. He was a pleasant person to work with. I hope the coverage is true. It should cover the A.C, stove, refrigerator, washer, dryer, electric water heater, plumbing, plumbing blocks and roof. He set up a 45 service fee.

Jeremy ** was very helpful and very responsive in getting my microwave replaced and I am now waiting for the approved reimbursement check. Jeremy also went to bat for me on another issue and succeeded in getting me a partial payment. I will recommend Jeremy and Select Home Warranty to my friends.

I had a clogged toilet. The water would overflow from the toilet on the 1st floor if water was used in any of the toilet in the house. CK from JED plumbing came in and snaked the main drainage pipe removing the commode. Select Home Warranty approved the work in full and the problem is solved. SHW assigned a technician within 24 hours of my call and they were very helpful in the process.

Isaac ** worked with me patiently, for quite some time, to find the warranty that was best for me. That included coverage, length of contract, cost, and convenience. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. I was not able to choose the original home warranty company I had because it came with the purchase of the house, so I was unfamiliar with details involved in making such a choice. The customer service representative was Awesome. He was very knowledgeable. He had a lot of patience to answer my many questions that I had. I would definitely recommend Select Home Warranty to a friend. I had contacted multiple home warranty companies which were overpriced and didn't offer all that I was searching for when I was comparing. The call came in before I could even look at the website. I took the offer because of the price. I won't say I was pressured but I don't believe the bull of only getting the discount today. I don't like that way of doing business. I think it is a crock. You offer seniors a discount and then force them to pay all at once to get it. Your policy is less expensive than the one I have that is expiring and does offer 2 extra months. If not for that I would not have purchased the coverage from you.

Jonathan was my rep, he was very knowledgeable, patient and seemed genuinely interested in ensuring coverage with sensitivity to cost. All plans were thoroughly explained and I felt no pressure to pick the higher costing plans. I feel comfortable and confident with my choice. I was even able to cover my pool for a reasonable additional cost. This was an easy, painless process and experience from the online quote, to the efficient phone call. - GREAT JOB! It say call 24 hours a day 7 days a week. My heater stopped working. I tried to put the claim 2 times through website, but it didn’t go through and gave me the claim number. So I called them on Sunday night for claim and I was on hold for 25 min, no one answered the call. Worse!!! I called them in Monday morning, he said they didn’t get the claim that I requested. I told him to expedite the process so my heater can start working. I am in Michigan, right now it's 20 F degree and my home is cold. We don’t have anywhere to go. It's been 6 hrs but no phone call from contractor or technician yet. It's worse home warranty insurance. They don’t care or understand the urgency. No Feeling.

I was comparing prices and quality of home warranty companies. Kept coming back to Select. The response was quick - almost too quick that my phone rang after inputting some information. Had a bad experience with my former warranty company so I started shopping for new service. I was assisted by Alan **, he was quick to respond!!! He was also very personable and helped me save a lot of money off the bat! My monthly cost was slashed in half and so was my service call fee. I wish I had looked into this company sooner than this. I had first appliance problem... and I’m happy the way Select Home Warranty has handled my claim. They been very prompt and helpful in getting my claim process fast. I had an issue with my refrigerator and they assigned a technician who gave us a quote but Select warranty do not force us to take up the same contractor. They allow us to choose the contractor but fix a budget that gets our work done.

I am being given $185 to replace a $1000 washing machine...despite your policy, the verbiage to "REPLACE" a broken appliance never states that it will be depreciated to next to nothing. I would like to know how you calculate the depreciation and the life of the equipment and the cost basis of the item. Please reconsider this claim and the reimbursement to provide a reasonable amount to replace this machine which is now running approximately $760 for a similar model of this brand. I would appreciate a telephone call, thank you.

David was very helpful and answered all my questions. Very good service indeed. It's my first time buying home warranty and I tried to compare many different companies. Initially I have some doubts to buy a trustworthy home warranty because I understand some of the companies may not pay for it due to "out-out-maintenance" reason. I am glad Select Home Warranty is not one of that and no maintenance record is not required in my plan. Good service and great deal.

Fred was very helpful in signing me up. I made it clear at the beginning of the call that I did not wish to have lots of repeat calls if I chose not purchase your service. He was very undersatnding and assured me he would not call over and over again if we chose someone else. I believe that coverage offered in the Platium package is great and the opportunity to purchase a 3.5 year package as explained to me by Fred was very good and met our long range needs for a service provided by Select. I appreciate that very much.
