The purchase engagement officer explained all the options very comprehensively and helped choose the right option. The options also explained about benefits and future plans. The officer had plans proposed for multiple years and I chose the limited options that cover my stint. Since there are multiple discussion and discounts available the specific plan helped me with right options. All through the process officer was polite and was able to understand my requirements and devised the plan accordingly.

The person I talked to you was very polite and answered all my questions and expedited my order quickly. I had asked many questions about the policy all the way from feet covered for the electrical lines. Asked how far they cover on sewage lines and appliances. There were some cells about longer coverage for high pricing but I didn't take his. I didn't think I could get it at this time. If I was asked at a later time I might have.

The gentleman was informative. He explained the policy differences. He explained coverage options for different types of plans and lengths of time. I inquired about different types of coverage and he was able to provide whether each was covered under the selected warranty. I had a previous home warranty and the prices offered with this company are lower in comparison to the old company. The trade service fee is lower as well. I hope the company will prove to be a good investment for the home.

Refrigerator. Call at same day to Select Home owner warranty for repair. Referred to Randy's Appliance Repair. Work order was send and Repairman came last minute on the same day and fix the problem with no delay. The Repairman is Knowledgeable, experience, honest and hard worker. He work with no delays, maintains work area clean, organized and in order. Very Satisfied with the service provided. The operator who received the call was professional and pleasant. I definitely will renew and extend my home owner warranty service to them.

The customer service representative named Jonathan was very very helpful and very informative. He provided most excellent customer service and I would recommend this company to anyone looking to get a warranty for their home. Prices for their plans are very reasonable and while I haven’t filed a claim I do have a friend that has used her policy many time and with great satisfaction. I look forward to doing business with them for many years.

A quick response to my questions. I was on their website reviewing the info and they called me directly. The only negative was while speaking with the rep, Nathan **, was I received emails generated from their automated script library saying they have made multiple attempts to try to contact me and I was unreachable. Nathan confirmed they are using a script library and this is the way it works. They should review this process and timing of sending the emails.

Polite and effective. He explained the policy and coverage clearly. He made me feel as though value is legit. Hopefully I will not need service, but it appears that if I do have the need, service will be covered. The added feature of a three year guaranteed rate and extra coverage also seemed to make a lot of sense to me. I look forward to a mutually beneficial experience.

They just find the way to denied your claim. I had home warranty with someone else for three years. I never had problem with them. Select Home Warranty convinced me to switch. Now I'm regretting this decision.

I was unsure about getting the coverage but after speaking to Abraham I was sold. I received the best coverage for a great rate! And, I have a great renewal price locked for life! Great deal! If I move I can take it with me or I can pass it along to who ever purchases my home if I were to sell. It was a very simple and easy process and I received great customer service. All my questions were answered. I look forward to having my home and appliances covered in the case of damage or breakdowns. Peace of mind.

He was thorough and precise. Very friendly demeanor and was considerate of my time. I like the coverage that you provide and expressed to him about my concerns with existing company; Home Shield. I have been with them since I purchased my home and was not happy with the claim department and mostly the customer service representatives. Chase was super easy to work with and very helpful and informative. We already had a warranty with another company, but he encouraged me to try Select. They had a lot of great reviews and were rated the number one home warranty company for 2018, so I figured I'd give them a try. They offered coverages not included in my other policy which made my choice even easier. I even added an additional property to my coverage due to a special that they were advertising.

This was really easy to sign up and get a home warranty. I shopped vendors and got overwhelmed until I got to Select Home Warranty. I decided not to renew my previous vendor because of there service. As I started to shop around for a new service, I was having so much difficulty that I contemplated not having a warranty plan at all, and to just pay for repairs has they were needed. While surfing the internet, I found Select Home Warranty and the explanations for plans was clear and concise.

Nathan was very efficient and helpful. I received a great deal and I'm happy that I was able to include septic and sump pump in my coverage. This was an easy process and I was not on hold long, which was great. Compared to other places I checked with, I received an affordable plan with lots of coverage. All of my questions were answered and I was given a thorough breakdown of my policy. I will continue doing business with this company. Thank you.

My electric dryer went out. The company got someone out to my home promptly. Everything was professional. The only thing is I don't have enough to cover the repair and I can't purchase a new dryer for the amount they offered me. I don't want a used dryer. I thought they would replace it without me coming out of more money but other than that I like this company. Everything worked out fine. I would recommend this company. Good customer service. They keep in touch until the end of the claim.

I contacted SELECT HOME WARRANTY when I had a hot water problem. The customer service representative was very knowledgeable and immediately got me the help I needed. The repairman from Bass Plumbing arrived as promised, was pleasant to work with and completed the repair in less than 15 minutes and we had hot water shortly there after. I am very pleased with everyone's assistance in this matter and would recommend SELECT HOME WARRANTY and Bass Plumbing to my family and friends.

Very thorough and professional job by Nathan the sales agent, he covered all the bases and provided the best plan for me. The contract I received from Select is very clear and concise laying out what they will and will not do and our mutual obligations. I'm a pretty cynical person dealing with businesses coming from a history of being burned too many times but Select seems upfront and straightforward which instills a sense of trust. So far so good.

I spoke with Richard ** about getting a new policy for my home. He was very easy to work with and answered all my questions. The pricing was great and it now gives me peace of mind that I am protected from any problems I might have in the future with my appliances. I would highly recommend Select Home Warranty. I had called several other companies and all of them cost more money per month to cover the same things that Select Home Warranty does.

I'm a Realtor. 30 years. Referred folks to several different companies over the years. Select was the first company to be completely disappointing. They would not fix or replace the microwave. They did take our $60. Then told us to go buy a microwave....send for report. They would email a claim form. After completion and copy of receipt, they would reimburse. Cap on reimbursement $90. NEVER RECEIVED IT.
Fast forward. Had them come 'Fix or Repair' washing machine. Told to go buy one, send for claim form, complete submit with receipt and they would reimburse... CAP ON REIMBURSEMENT... $150.00.. which would not even pay delivery fee and installation. Much less a washing machine. They connected me to 5 different people to reach this decision. Unacceptable!!!! Review Clause that will tell you about this condition: 8.3. See if they tell you that EVER. NO! Look on website only says "Fix or Replace." They lie. Go buy Old Republic or American Home Shield. They are honest.

I compared this to other companies and this company offered more options, like my central vacuum and sprinkler system, but the rate was still good. Fred offered extra options and the service fee was lower than most. I am still reading exclusions but so far so good. I would recommend to friends and family. I like the roof coverage for free and knowing I have coverage for all items and appliances in my home. I hope that when put into use, I get expected service quality.

Last month I requested to have my credit card taken off the account and also requested that they no longer bill my card. A month later they have billed this card which I was confirmed was removed. Then I called today to ask that they reverse the charge. She initially said no. Then said it would take about two weeks. So I asked to speak with a manager and she refused. I sat on hold for forty five minutes. No response. And no callback. I have filed a complaint with my credit card company and the BBB. This IS unacceptable.

Customer Service Reps were very friendly. Annual cost and service calls are very competitive. This type of coverage gives us as home sellers an edge over homes which do not offer coverage. The buyer will be more at ease with the buying transaction and as a first time home buyer, they will rest comfortably knowing that if something major breaks, they will not be left out in the cold. I'm glad we are able to offer this to them.

Abraham was great. He was pleasant and explained everything in a thorough manner. He answered all my questions and eased my concerns regarding a few matters. He is an asset to your company. Abraham was professional and "sold me" on purchasing this warranty. Being a senior citizen and retired law enforcement officer I was very pleased when Abraham offered the $399 program for 14 months. Being on a fixed income this definitely will fit into my monthly budget. I will definitely recommend your company to friends and relatives and have them contact Abraham.

Excellent phone service from representative. He was very knowledgeable about the product. I was offered several bonuses if I paid for a year & I liked that. He even gave me his personal phone number because the last company I signed up with could not find someone to come out & fix problem. I certainly would recommend this company to my friends & relatives. The young man I spoke with was a pleasure to deal with. His company should give him a large raise.

The gentleman on the phone not only explained everything clearly and concisely, but was able to direct me into a plan that would save me more money and get the best policy available that would fit our needs. I need the repair or replacement ASAP - so I don't know how to rate all the below as it depends on how quickly they can get me info to set up appt and then how quickly they can respond and fix or replace it.

I think the whole water heater should be covered, including from leaks from rusting out, customer service was helpful in helping to find where it says leaks are not covered, our Previous warranty company would have covered it. And even though your company is cheaper and the service fee for a claim is cheaper than what we was paying, I guess the trade off for lack of full coverage on the water heater will have to do.

Very pleased with the coverage and service I have received from your company. Both your customer service and sales department were great. I have talked to family and friends telling them not only about your customer service but also your competitive prices on all of your coverage plans. A couple of my friends and family have coverage with one of your leading competitors and their biggest complaints are with their customer service and claims process. This competitor is the one that does a lot of advertising on prime time TV but according to my folks can be not so friendly.

Experience was fairly positive. I was pleased with the plans that were presented. However, I would have liked if the plans included electronics. When I mentioned that I would like to explore different options that would expand the warranty to electronics the agent steered me away from this and mentioned something to the effect that I should look for these type of plans because they are expensive. I feel that if you stand behind your product you should be concerned with a consumer doing more research on coverage and pricing options.

I spoke with a gentleman by the name of Sam. He was very nice and completely professional. He answered all of my questions and I had a lot of them! If Sam is an indication of this company, I’m sure in the event I do have a claim, which hopefully I won’t I will be very happy with my service. Even if I never need it, I’m glad I decided to go ahead a purchase it. It already has given me a nice feeling of security, know I don’t have to worry if something goes wrong. I was getting the extended warranties when I purchase a new appliance, but those increased the cost sometimes almost double. Again, I’m glad I have it.

Brought a new home that came with the washing machine. Tried to use the machine and it didn't work. I called to place a claim to get it fixed and Ira was very nice and quick about putting the claim in. She was friendly and professional. My contract start date was wrong and she nicely told me how to go about fixing it. Ira still entered the claim and let me know that someone who email me updating when they will be able to come and fix the machine.

The Ballcock Valve gave out and was spraying water on the wall through one of the half moon circles that was in the back of the tank when it was manufactured. If the issue was not addressed and we continued to use the toilet, it would create a more serious problem with the wall. A qualified tech plumber was assigned to fix the problem. We have been completely satisfied with the plumber that was assigned to do the work as he had fixed the problem we had with the water heater when it was not delivering any hot water into the house.

Technicians came to resolve plumbing issue. They worked in hot conditions. Were very thorough. They came out twice. Actually had to use call another company to snake the line and take pictures to locate the problem. Some shrubs along the house had sent roots under house and compromised the drain. We removed the shrubs and a tool to obliterate the roots from the line. We changed toilet paper to a rapid dissolve marine type. Since then mo more problems.

The customer service representative I talked to had informed me on the coverage and how much more money I could save on service and yearly fees by going with a longer term contract. I have not used the service yet but I hope things will go smoothly when I have to use it. I wish they would include A/C heat pump service 2 times a year with the warranty as preventative maintenance. I hope Select Home Warranty will provide me with trouble free service when I need it and with minimal lag time.

I called Select Home Warranty because my other plan I had is expiring this month. The salesperson was very knowledgeable about Select Home Warranty plans. He did a great job at telling me about the specials. Keep up the good work Ray **! I would recommend others to use Select Home Warranty as there home warranty plan. I have been reading about different home warranty plans, but I chose Select Home Warranty because I like what they have to offer, at a good price. Worst home warranty company I have ever had. They change the rules to fit what they want do. They don’t have to pay anything out. Deceitful and misleading! They lead you to believe and state they will cover items and then weasel their way out such as, after believing my water heater to be covered and purchasing their most inclusive policy they refuse to cover the labor and say they are only paying for parts! What kind of home warranty doesn’t cover items?
They never sent me the policy paperwork! Talked to multiple people that obviously don’t speak English very well as I have wasted hours of my time trying to explain. When I tried to cancel because they were weaseling out of paying the 300 to fix my water heater and they said they would only pay for 150 for parts, I didn’t get anything fixed and tried to cancel my policy. They said they would issue a refund minus 75 cancellation fee, prorated months for my policy at regular policy price, plus the 150 to fix the water heater that was never fixed. I told them, "How could you keep 150 of my money and the heater was never fixed, you never paid anyone!!" How can this be legal!!

I have worked with Kevin and had good experience over couple years, have been able to reach him with his ext. every time I have called. I feel it is important to have home coverage with my age especially It gives me peace of mind. I had plan on my Mother's house and had problem with Drain under house and they took care of it very fast which gave me confidence in having the plan I have now. It seems the service is great and feel confident If I have problem it will be taken care quickly.

I have switched from a different Home Warranty company that I did not care for, and came across some others who were rude and dishonest in my search for a new one. Thankfully I have had none of those problems with Select. Also, very pleased with the rates. After returning home from an extended trip visiting family, I found my kitchen faucet would leak profusely at its base when turned on. Please note that when my original home warranty coverage provided by the seller of my home purchased in July of 2017 was nearing the end of its term I decided to look for another warranty service. My research led me to speak with a Select Home Warranty sales representative, signing up that very day. Order ** would become my first service request and although a tad bit worried about what contractors would be on their provider list in this small city of rural So. Oregon, I was extremely happy that Grants Pass Plumbing was one of them. Complete confidence and satisfaction... no worries there.
As for SHW, well all I can say is they have proven from the moment I contacted them via phone that I need not have worried... Kudos SHW! Customer Service Representatives, beginning with the fine young man who handled my claim initiation to those who contacted me by email, text and phone message, keeping me updated of the chain's progress... all within a 24 hour time frame. I do not exaggerate! Placed call into SHW at approximately 3:30am PST. G.P. Plumbing calls me at 4:42pm and schedules an appointment for 1:00 pm the following day. They turn in their findings and recommendations to SWH and I receive confirmation of what is and is not covered very same day. No worries, no stress, prompt and efficient resolution to my problem and no complaints.

Chase ** (our salesman) was very knowledgeable, easy to understand and extremely friendly. He answered all my questions. Gave me a extremely fair rate, saving us almost $40 on each service calls from our previous home warranty company. (What a deal!) I really like the fact we can process our claim request online. This entire process was a quick and effortless. I would recommend this to everyone. We even received our contract within hours of the initial phone call. Issac **, the rep. that I talked to was very knowledgeable, helpful and quick in his discussion. He outlined all of the areas of coverage as well as various pricing options for me to pick from. He also came up with a multi year plan that fit my budget and convinced me to sign up. This appears to be the best plan and pricing available in this area. Furnace repair. The process from start to finish was 24 hours total. From my first phone call to the completion of the repair. I was totally amazed that the whole process was done in that little of a time frame. It has been quite a while since I’ve needed repairs from Select Home Warranty and I can see a huge change in the way business was conducted. I am loving the new look and in the way you take care of your customers.

We have been fighting with Select for them to honor their contract with us about an A/C problem we have with our coil. We have a hole in our A/C coil and the unit needs to be replaced. The claim was denied because they considered it a freon leak which is not covered. After numerous phone calls and hours on the phone we are still getting the same answer, freon leak, not covered.
Since the problem is actually in the A/C coil, which is a covered part, this should have been a simple approval for replacement. The initial repairman they sent out (took him 5 days to show up), just put gauges on the system and said freon was low and they would send in a report to SHW, $100 for a 5 minute visit. Well, they never did and SHW was no help, we had to hire another technician to come out and diagnose the problem. When you try and ask to talk to a manager, you will not be transferred, they are always busy with other clients. I was on the phone waiting over 30 minutes and they were still busy. We were then promised a manager call back and have been waiting 3 weeks for that.

So I began with SHW on 1/16/19. I was specifically told this company has a 30 day wait period. 48 days into my policy my dishwasher breaks. They create a claim because it's past 30 days. Tech determines a pump is needed. Pump cost is $225. The warranty company then comes back and says they will only pay $150 of the claim being "less than 90 days". Ok well I wasn't told that and specifically asked about wait periods. Shady but whatever I'll pay the $72 difference.
Tech comes back finally 4/2/19, because in his words "this warranty company doesn't communicate well". He uncovers an additional issue and says it's more cost effective to replace it. Well now they are denying the claim stating that it is within the first 30 days of policy. Well that is not correct my policy began 1//16... Their response was that the policy doesn't begin until 30 days after you purchase the policy (or 35 depending on which rep you get) and then there is a 30-day trial period?
What... SCAM... Completely different that was was told when I agreed to pay for the policy. So if you want a warranty company that won't honor claims. Gives you false information this is the company for you. I suggest any other warranty company than this one as you will find poor service and problems with any claim you file.

Exhaust fan repair. Good Service - Occasional issues with finding a repair person in my area. When they do... it all is well! I can say I have received more than my money's worth with the coverage I have utilized. I would recommend a home warranty for anyone moving into a new home. I had an plumbing emergency and it was not repaired in a timely manner. Other claims have been repaired in a timely manner. Select Home Warranty is the second home warranty company I have used and I find the value offered of good.

The customer service department was very friendly and personable. The man walked me through the process of filing my claim and gave me the confidence that everything will be taken care of! So far so good! The next step is just waiting for a repairman to respond, but overall thus far, I give it a thumbs up! The repairman also gave me an inside scoop that it would be ok to contact my repairman myself if it takes more than the estimated time of 48 hours for arrival.

Daniel ** was very helpful and seemed to have the knowledge to direct me. Being a realtor and an insurance agent I can tell when someone is blowing smoke around the homeowners area. I didn't get that feeling. I will try your service and if happy recommend it to my fellow realtors. We only have 600 in the office... After dealing with another company a few years ago it was pleasant to speak with someone that felt more trustworthy. If and when my first experience goes well I will recommend further.

No action to date on a service call for over five weeks. Keep getting unsatisfactory answers and promises. Have spent hours on the phone to get the issue resolved with no luck to date. Very frustrated and unhappy with this company. Trying to cancel my two policies but keep getting transferred to other folks with nobody willing to cancel my two policies.

I have utilized Select Home Warranty now for three home repairs. Each time I have called they have had a repair technician out to my home with 2 days. The repair process has been smooth and seamless. The customer service representatives truly to help resolve your issues in a timely fashion. In a business where there are many home warranty companies to choose from, I am glad that I was referred to Select Home Warranty by my friends.

Agent name is Daniel. He contacted me while I was investigating several companies to chose from. We talked and discussed all the coverage and he answered all my questions and gave me time to make my decision. He wrote an email with his information telling me he was there to help whenever I was ready. He did not push which was a big plus in my decision. He showed interest in my needs and was willing to help. I may have left some money in the table but his attitude meant more to me than the money. I feel he represents the company well. I will certainly recommend him. In fact I have another house under contract with a different company but will try to get that business to him as well.

My policy just kicked in, so I don’t have much to share yet. The monthly rate is excellent for all that is covered, but I wish the customer service rep had just accepted that that’s what I wanted to go with instead of trying to push me to go with annual. It was a little much for my liking. The service call fee is reasonable and it appears as though we are well covered in our area. If I need to make a claim, I will update my review based on the service I receive!

I called customer service in reference to a bad switch on my circuit breaker. My water heater was not functioning due to the bad circuit breaker switch. In a few days the electric technician came over to my residence and replaced the bad switch. The electrical technician were on time. Very friendly and very knowledgeable. They entered my residence and asked me what was wrong with my breaker switch. I explain to them that the switch was not functioning and sometimes my water heater will not warm up at all. The technician open up the panel and removed the bad breaker switch and replaced it with a new working switch. My water heater was working again.

I was shopping around for providers as we are huge believers in having coverage. The Select Sales Rep was very informative with answering all my questions to coverage for the home and the additional pool/spa plan. He truly made every effort possible to save my family money with the offer of multi year plans, discounts and lowering the service call fee. Although the offers were amazing, we just were not in a situation to buy multi years due to family medical. We've recently signed up for a new Platinum Care Coverage plan for our house. The coverage options were more comprehensive than competitors and they even allowed us to customize it for the systems and appliances that apply to our specific house, such as heating and air conditioning, all major appliances, well pump and septic. The salesman we spoke to was very courteous, knowledgeable and took the time to answer all our questions. Overall great customer service so far.

I placed the order on 3/14/2019, original was lead to believe I would get $100 off and 1 free month, but after talking with the representative that is only if you pay in full. Advertising should be specific and not misleading. I then only received my information on 4/3/2019 of warranty, I called several times and gave my home address and my email address but never received any kind of thank you or knowledge of my warranty until today in my last phone call. I place at least 4 calls to try and get my warranty information. Hopefully I have had to experience a repair request call but hopefully that will go well for future use. Thank You.

I'm very disappointed in their customer service. They don't act fast, they purposely assign contractors outside the area who cannot do the job. When you call them again, they assign the same contractor which doesn't serve in the area, hoping you will give up and fix it yourself. One of the worst company I ever worked with. Do not select, pay extra to get another warranty company and have a peace of mind and good service.

Select Home Warranty was good. They contacted me promptly and handled my problem. I wish they helped me better with the actual purchasing of the microwave, and covered the installation, but what they gave me in terms in service was great. The phone person was about average. They were just reading a script and when I asked something that wasn't in the script, it got a little rough, but otherwise it is about all that I could have expected from talking to someone at a call center.

Garage door wasn’t working and you guys repaired it, thanks. Total expense was 200 and you cover 125 of it. It took a little longer than usual to get the contractor to my house for the actual repair but besides that everything was great. Abraham provided great customer service while I shopped around and is very energetic. He gave me a great offer but allowed me to take the time to read reviews and compare with other companies without being overly pushy. He addresses any concerns I had regarding bad reviews the company has and was knowledgable about the sources. I'll enjoy the peace of mind of having coverage. Hopefully the coverage is as good as their salesman customer service. They also offer extended warranty which locks your price but I don't plan on living in my current home for years to come and I would rather test them out first.

It only took about five minutes to set up my plan. It was fast and the sales associate was friendly and knowledgeable. Bi-Polar A/C and Heat came to my house March 8, due to a problem we were having with the thermostat. The technician checked the thermostat and cleaned something to make the thermostat work correctly. However, over the last 3 or 4 days we have noticed that even though we set the thermostat to a certain temperature, the heater is not heating to the temperature that we set the thermostat at. The phone operators that I spoke with about the problems, were helpful, pleasant and efficient.

I received patient and thoughtful information from Bruce that convinced me that a 3 year Platinum Service Plan was the best value I could receive after polling 3 companies. I researched customer reviews of Home Warranty businesses online and Select Home Warranty was the second highest rated with the lowest overall cost. I really was after a one year policy but Bruce was convincing that the 3 year plan offered BEST value. I will monitor the service I receive on a subsequent service call and am sure to recommend Select Home Warranty to friends and family.

The repair service contractor bailed on me! I'm now waiting for 2nd contractor to contact me. Thank goodness it's warming up at night. I've been without heat at night for 3 days. I think you should review these contractors that you have in your service. Still no e-mail for another HVAC contractor. As for the rating, won't be sure how to answer until the matter is taken care of.

Updated on 5/15/2020: This is the first time I have filed a claim with Select Warranty and the customer service representative was excellent. She stated her name and she was very easy to understand. She asked me for all of the pertinent information needed like my warranty number, my full name, my address, my telephone number and my email address. She then asked for the problem I was calling about and took down all the information and she then gave me my claim number. She was very polite and professional. She then said that a company would be contacting me via an email to investigate the claim I submitted. Within seconds after hanging up with her on my cell phone I received a text message and an email stating that a claim had been filed and the company that had responded and they would be contacting me. I was very, very impressed with the entire process.
Original review: I am very, very pleased with the Select Home Warranty that I chose to cover my home. I went with the VIP Select Home Warranty which gives me a 6 year coverage and a reduced service call rate. The yearly rate was reduced and is now locked in for 6 full years which you receive when you do a one time payment. I feel very confident that Select Home Warranty will live up to all their expectations and coverage that they are promising and providing for myself and my home. I am very, very happy and very confident with the decision that I have made for my complete home protection.

It took almost two months to finally authorize my freezer getting fixed. Also took about 25 phone calls between me and the technician and Select Home Warranty to get the issue corrected and fixed. I really believe Select Home Warranty could of been more customer appreciated and should of took better control of the entire situation. I really feel that the customer is not the one who has to do all the contacting and arguing with the technician. We made a claim November 28, 2018 because the outlet in our laundry room stopped working. R&M electric was assigned to our case and came out. They concluded that the electrical panel needed to be replaced. This was unexpected for us, because we just assumed it was a bad outlet, and not a serious replacement of the whole panel. On December 13, SHW denied our claim due to "Code Violation/Hazard". This also came as a shock to us. We bought the house in 2016, and had multiple inspections done before we were able to close on the house. Nothing was noted of concern regarding the electrical panel or any code violations, at that time. We called R&M Electric about this as well as spending countless amounts of time on the phone with SHW company. R&M didn't understand why you would have denied the claim, so they told us to call you again, and they would contact you as well.
After many unsuccessful conversations, we decided to file another claim on February 14, 2019 to resolve what the real problem was. At that time, we were assigned to Zak Electrical Systems. They never called us. We tried calling the number given in the email, but it went straight to voicemail and said the guy's voice mailbox was full. My husband called Select Home Warranty at that time, and was told to go ahead and hire our own electrician to look at it. We were also told to call SHW back, once he was there, to diagnose and talk about the problem. We hired a licensed electrician named Tom ** to come take a look. He called SHW as instructed, and verified that our electrical panel was in fact "grounded as required by code, and that it was not out of code, as previously stated." He spoke, at length, with "Jermail" in customer service.
Jermail is incredibly difficult to talk to and is quite aggressive and argumentative. He insisted on asking "does it need to be updated?" He specifically kept using the words "updated." The electrician said, "it needs to be replaced." Jermail continuously said "updated", which was then the basis of his denial. They do not "update" electrical boxes. His terminology was directly used to deny our claim. Without any further explanation, we were sent another denial, stating the same cause, "Code Violation/Hazard". What was the purpose of making us (and another electrician- cost $75) go through the whole process again, if Select Home Warranty wasn't going to investigate any further?
I've called customer support numerous times, but somehow end up talking with Jermail again. He says that he does not have any bosses higher than him, and they he makes the final decision on claims, so I should just quit trying. Also, since his behavior is so argumentative, I asked if the call was being recorded? He said yes, but he's the only one who would listen to it... That doesn't seem to be a very productive customer service solution. When I told him that now I understand why their company has 1 star on the BBB, he said that is because companies pay the BBB for good ratings, and they do not. So, being that Consumer Affairs has listen Select Home Warranty as a "Trusted" brand, I thought it is relevant to let you know of their sub-par practices. I believe they are in the business of denying claims, not helping homeowners.

Texted Select Warranty this morning and received info re. repair service- Britt's. When I called Britt's, I was told that they only service this area once a week and since they were here yesterday they could not come till 4/9/19. I called Select and talked to Ben who promptly checked and is getting us a different service repair. Quick, courteous and pleasant- satisfied with the experience. The refrigerator is leaking water and flooding the kitchen, certainly not a repair that can wait a week.

This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. The documents were provided, they use section 9.1.2 to reserve the right to ask for 3 years of maintenance records to cap you at $150. The Manufacturer and the contractor all state that a technician is not required to be called every year to simply look at it and state no work or recommendation. The homeowner is authorized to change filters, but they state a technician is required to change a very simple filter. Terrible customer service. I will be cancelling my policy.

Is ZERO star possible!? The worst customer service I ever experienced. I am waiting for my reimbursement check for 4 months after more than 20 calls and yet nothing. Somebody named "Dan **" called me and apologize a month ago and told me to delete my previous review and he promised to expedite my check, again nothing happened, so don't fall for his crap. They always find something in the contract to as an excuse to provide service after they charge you for visit and not even that you will NEVER receive your reimbursement check. Last but not least, their customer services employee are not even unprofessional but also rude. Looking for terminating my contract with them because Select Home Warranty is not capable to provide the services that they promote and fail to keep their promises. For sure I re-repost this as long as possible to see ZERO rate for them to protect others being their victim!

I have had my warranty with Select Home Warranty for over 2 years. They have always been very responsive and corrected the issues I was having promptly. I have had a couple issues that have come up since obtaining my warranty and when I call the customer service is always polite and understanding. It usually takes a couple days to get a service technician to come out but there are not a lot of companies in my service area that work on the warranty work. And, we were recently hit by a hurricane so everyone is really booked up right now.

Main in house stop tap was broken in shut off position and was leaking water. The response to being contacted and the time to turn up was very quick. Joe, the Plumber was extremely professional in his initial approach in explaining what the issue was and what he needed to do to fix. The company completed the work efficiently and without any inconvenience. Great job was completed leaving the water supply restored and the house dry. I would definitely recommend this company in future.

July 31, 2018, the Condenser at my home died during Texas 100+ heatwave. Because I had not been given actual Receipts listing Servicing of the unit fall & spring for the previous 2 years, as required by Select Home Warranty; my claim was denied. However, after negotiating with the Claims department they offered to pay $250.00 toward the costs I would have to pay to replace my unit. I had turned in All the copies of Service Receipts I had been given by the service companies I had used. I am retired and on SS Income and took time and received quotes for Condenser replacement versus replacing the total system installed by the builder in 1999. The children and me after seeking quotes from 4 companies made the decision I should just replace the Condenser and that was done on August 1, 2018, the day I moved back into my house. I immediately sent in copies of Condenser purchase and Installment Receipts.
In January reviewing my documents for tax filing... I realized I had not ever received the payment from Select. I immediately filed a request for payment again, but not hearing back from them I contacted them again when my garage door opener went out in March. John in customer service issued a NEW Ticket referencing the old and today I just received an email that they are Honoring my Claim and paying me the $250.00. It might not seem like much but living on Social Security this pays 5 months of my Warranty service with the company. And also confirms Select Home Warranty's commitment to their Clients. I had been shopping for another provider, but I now will be staying a loyal client. Thank you Select and your employees for being there for us when we need you. Blessings.

Nathan was fast and didn't feed too much **. I told what I wanted and he provided it. This will assist me in ensuring my home is well maintained with a small fee. Nathan was able to assist me lowering my out of pocket costs. The small amount I pay each month will give me good peace of mind and help me sleep a little better at night. Ok the only thing I would recommend is you tell your salespeople to just listen to the customer and not step on their toes. The salesperson, Fred **, explained everything to me about the policy and answered all my questions so feel I got the best deal I can get for the service your company provides. I chose a three year contract for the additional savings. She was very good about explaining everything to me when I had questions. After explaining what the warranty covered she told me about the extra 3 months of coverage with a full year's payment. Broken dryer. The customer service agent was very polite and understanding. Couldn’t ask for more. Hopefully the rest runs as smoothly! This specific claim is still in its infancy. So if follow through is acceptable then I will be a customer for life. We had an electric fire in our attic, thank God that we were at home when it started. I have a very touchy nose and I could smell burning almost immediately, we called Select immediately and 3 days later after my husband had pulled the breaker in question I was given a name of an electrician that was not even licensed in our state!!! When I brought this up to the agent I was transferred to the authorization dept. I was told that they are extremely busy and I could find my own electrician!! I waited 2 weeks without power to part of my house.
Finally after checking with authorization again I contacted the local electrician not even 1 block away. He came in and diagnosed the problem. Contacted Select they asked him the cost he told them that depended if he had to go through walls etc. Not good enough! After calling while the electrician was here and taking the phone to him while working to get my electrical to work they told me they would have to get back to me 4 days later after the electrician was done and gone I had a decision. No payment was going to be made!!! Now I’m paying a $600.00 bill and paying a warranty company that I’m not sure will work for me!!

Never got anyone to look at problem. When I called to drop the policy asked for me to give them another try to make it right. Sent me the name of a company to do work. When calling them to set up a time the company told me they did not do work for them and they would not do work for them. Wish I had left my account with Home Shield. Please be aware of the work of this company. Don't waste your time and money.

This company is a rip off. There is more things they don't cover than they do even at their top tier plans. For example they cover parts but not installation nor labor nor do they cover access to fix a leak. Any appliance cannot be more than 3 years old and they do not replace appliance that cannot be repaired. Furthermore you have to have 3-5 years worth of service records for the life of the appliance for for them to cover repairs. I will not renew with this company. I will take my money elsewhere.

We have been using American Home Shield for almost fourteen years but they keep raising prices without a increase in service level. William was great to work with and helped guide me through the options, cost and what Select will provide for us. Hopefully don't need to call very often but it is nice to know we are covered. Washer pipe clogged. I was very pleased with the service I received. The problem was resolved. I only had to pay service fee on this call. The service person was nice. It took less than 24 hrs to be contacted by the contractor. The contractor let me know what he was doing to resolve my problem. Also, the receptionist was very pleasant when I called my claim in. I was given direct directs by the receptionist. Everything happen as she said. Today I am a happy customer...

I signed up a couple weeks ago but my service was not activated because I inadvertently used an invalid credit card number. I called in to give the operator my new information. He gave me the option to pay yearly but I decided to stay with the monthly plan. The call was answered and completed in a timely manner. My representative was very friendly and knowledgeable. He explained to us about the advantages of purchasing a multi-year policy. He offered us a couple of different options for multi-year discounts and worked with us to find the one that best fit our budget. After choosing a multi-year policy, he even added an additional six months for free. I was very appreciative that he was not a high pressure salesman and was very courteous and respectful.

The gentleman Sam was very nice to work with. They also gave us some great discounts and was willing to match other home service warranty companies. Just got the service so hopefully will be Satisfied with the service. I think there’s a lot of value in this home warranty service. I paid $41 a month for my policy for over 6 months and the minute I need to file a claim, they denied it. They didn’t even send a technician out to look at it. The policy says it covers elements & the tank. The tank is rusting out in my hot water heater & it has some bad elements (I had a plumber come out). I need a new hot water heater, he said it should be covered under my warranty but since they denied my claim instantly, like 15 minutes after I made it I have to pay for all of this out of pocket. I called to argue and explain it’s not leaking like they think, because they said they don’t cover leaks. But then they said they might consider paying only a percentage.
Nowhere in the policy does it say they’ll pay a percentage and I am responsible for the remainder. They also told me whatever was due I had to pay up front and I would be reimbursed within 30 business days. How does it take 30 business days to repay your client? You don’t take 30 business days to take my payment each month. Just saying. When I asked them to cancel my policy they wanted to offer me a free month to stay. I don’t need your free month. I need you to do repairs like I paid you to do! Crooks! Thanks for taking my money each month for nothing.

I searched online and they called me immediately. The process was painless and gave me peace of mind as a homeowner. The sales rep explained in detail what the product was and how I could benefit from it. I purchased on the spot. I had belonged to another company in the past. Too soon to review a company that I just signed up with. Sign up process and customer service was good during sign up. Customer Service Analyst offered discounts for multi year sign up. Would recommend to a friend if company is as good as it sounds I am a former customer of American Home Shield and had no issues. Once signed up, I kept on receiving calls offering me to sign up which was a little annoying and confusing.

If you are choosing a home warranty company, DON'T choose Select. They are the worst. They will come up with ANY reason not to pay your claim. First they will set up a service call with you so you can pay the $60 deductible then they will deny you based on something in the small print of page 5 of your agreement. BEWARE.

I heard Select Home Warranty from a friend and I thought I checked them out. Glad I did. I would definitely tell this pleasant experience with my family and friends and recommend Select Home Warranty, as well. Although I had an issue with the coverage initially but customer service fixed it! I wanted to replace my kitchen faucet. The plumber (Dave) was excellent. I purchase a contract from select home warranty. I began to have problems with my garage door when my sprinkler system watered the yard or it rain. They sent someone out who was not an electrician and he diagnosed the problem as needing to upgrade my electrical box in the garage ( house is 7 years old). Select home would not fix the problem because they said they don't do upgrades. I cancel my policy with them (after reading reviews) and hired an electrician who said my problem was with the electrical outlets in the yard. Water had gotten into one of them and caused my breakers to throw when I tried to let up the garage door.

This is for the coverage we received from the contract we we purchase a house. When we look around to get quotes, the process has not been very straightforward for some providers. With Select Home Warranty, the process to get a quote is easy and straightforward. We only need to tell the agent what we need and we received a quote right away. Select Home Warranty would not accept the technician's diagnosis of a compressor failure and denied my A/C claim. Complete and utter fraud - do not buy. The tech they hired said there was not any freon leaking from my system, yet they denied my claim because of a "freon leak or freon related issue." They took several days to reach this conclusion while my wife and two kids (both under the age of 5) sat in a sweltering house. Their customer service was atrocious as I had to contact them constantly to get updates and they never reached out to me once - even when they said they would contact me within a certain time frame. Also, the claims approval manager was extremely rude when I pointed out that the basis for their claim rejection contradicted the technician they hired. In addition, another company that I hired to replace the system verified that there was no freon leak in my old system.

My husband and I were both very pleased with the sales representative that we spoke to. The company agent called us as we expected when we called to get information. He was very helpful and answered any questions we had without hesitation. He as very courteous and polite. When we told him we owned multiple homes He explained to us that there are multi-house discounts as well as as multi-year discounts. He explained in detail advantages of both these plans as we own several homes. All in all this was a painless and great experiences with the sales representative. We opted to purchase the premium package for two homes as that seemed to be the best over all deal for us once he explained the three packages they offered and at just $60 per trade call we felt that was our best fit from the three plans offered by Select Home Warranty. We also did our homework before we called and the ratings for this company are excellent.

Within seconds of submitting my online quote request, Select Customer Rep Kevin ** called me and we worked out the services I needed and he gave me pricing. It was much cheaper, and included more services, than my old home warranty company (Sears). I haven't had to file a claim yet, but I am sure it will be easy and quick. I have read their reviews online and they are all excellent and they have received several rewards. What you are paying for with a warranty is peace of mind. I can say that I have that, and it is one less thing to worry about.

I was impressed with the representation Sam. He was not pushy and explain everything in detail. He was patient in my time time to make my decision. Also, worked with my financial situation during to my husband's cancer battle. The contract was significantly detailed. It covered everything major and not major on our home. Call around, read the reviews, these guys are The best. Here one down side. Nice guy on the phone, well spoken, friendly, professional, and courteous. Forgot about the reduced service fee to $35, I didn’t find that anywhere else. Nor did I find as good of a deal when you purchase extended service. Some of the other warranty companies prorate items instead of replacing item. Look closely and choose Select, I found a lot of hidden deal breakers with other companies.

Unfortunately for me I've been denied for repair/replacement of my furnace, as I do not have maintenance records for the previous 3 years. This is because I only have owned the house for 5 months (over which I have records to show the unit was properly maintained). Jamal, a manager at Select Home Warranty, told me his team would have been more than happy to exclude the verbiage in section 9.1.2, as I just bought the home; however because it is after the 30 day introduction period they are unable to change the verbiage.
So for your sake, please ensure that if you decide to move forward with Select Home Warranty (which I do not recommend), you have the verbiage in section 9.1.2 altered. The SHW team is great. The customer service is outstanding. The only problem is there are a lack of contractors in the area that work with the warranty company. The process of submitting a claim is easy. I like that it is online. When a claim has to be submitted after the fact because there was not an available contractor, the payment is minimal compared to the bill. I have submitted claims for the refrigerator, the stove, an electric outlet not working, and garage door. Of these claims, only the garage door had an available service person in the area. The electric outlet was 'covered' by warranty but I supporting bill from the contractor was not acceptable so I did not receive reimbursement.

My experience when calling and speaking with a representative was very pleasant. They were able to answer the questions I had in regards to my issue and put the claim through without hesitation after hearing what the problem was and checking to see if my policy covered it. Overall the customer service was outstanding and I was notified within the 24-48 hour window as stated. Received prompt and polite customer service regarding warranty claim. Questions were answered regarding warranty process and procedure. Process to file claim was quick and easy. Furnace repair was covered by Select in full, less the service fee. Did not need to pay upfront and wait for reimbursement. (That is a policy if you wish to choose your own repair service, however.) After the winter months. While activating the sprinkler system, Discovered quite a few Underground sprinkler line leakages. When contacting customer service They were very professional and cordial with the problem. They approved the problem during our conversation and informed me that it would take 24-48 hours to assigned the company to take care of the situation. I was not sure if I had a contract with this company or not so called to verify and the agent was very quick to say that did and within 2 minutes he sent me a copy of the warranty and coverage by email. My home was covered with another warranty company for 6 years and they had raised their prices and this warranty provided the same coverage and more at a reduced rate. I especially liked the option of roof leak coverage.

I had a discussion with one of the customer salesperson. He walked me through the details of policy. Got a good discount for 5 years option. It was good conversation. There are lot of options to be considered. I got a platinum plan for 5 years and additional 1 year free. Price is awesome for 5 years if you pay the amount in a single pay. Insurance can also be transferred to another house if we move on. First I thought of going only with heater and ac to be covered. But I got a price for platinum which is very low and detectable are very less when compared to other insurance companies.

I'm not sure how they have so many good reviews, or if I just had a bad experience. Salesperson was very good at "selling" but when it came time to use the service, I was treated less than! Couldn't get them to return promised calls - supervisor said they were doing me a favor by covering my built-in microwave because the "exhaust" wasn't covered, even though my request said it was making a noise which sounded like the motor was going out. She also said I could have her extension # but she's never available to answer the phone.
Wasn't allowed to talk to billing to find out what my refund would be if I cancelled. When I did call customer service to cancel, I IMMEDIATELY had a call from a supervisor, giving me his extension to call back, wanting to find out how they could keep my business. Sad that I couldn't get cooperation upfront but when I am ready to cancel, all of a sudden, a supervisor can return a call to help???

I had asked for a quote over the internet, a person had texted me, and I told him that I would call him later. I had asked if septic systems were covered and he told me that they are covered for the life of the policy. I was asking him several questions about what is covered, but once he was told that I will not pay the total amount due, only in monthly payments, he then became hurried to get off the phone. I did not get my policy on this coverage, and have paid for the plan.

Abraham helped me with signing me up for the home warranty. What I didn't like was his persistence pushing me to accept the 5 year deal to which I couldn't afford. He sounded like a timeshare sales person to which they don't hear the word no. He kept on and kept on and I had to keep interrupting him, I know it was rude, but I had to cut him off and just sign up and move on. It would be a good idea to retrain this representative. When the customer declines the offer the first time he needs to accept it and stop pushing the customer into something they don't want.

I attempted to file a claim. During the beginning stages I tried to find out if something would be covered. All they would tell me was they had to wait for a diagnoses. My water heater keeps going out. I have had companies come out and look at it and the elements keep getting blown. They said it is due to sediment at the bottom of the tank and that I need a new one. I try to find out if this is covered since it isn't thermostat, heating element, or a leak. It doesn't specifically say whether it is covered. While trying to talk to someone about what exactly is covered they just keep saying they have to wait for a diagnoses.
I say I'm not paying money for a "service call" to find out it isn't covered and have to pay the entire bill anyway and that there has to be a way to find out if this type of thing would be covered or not. The original person very clearly agitated that I'm not taking they can't tell me without a diagnoses as an answer says she will let me talk to her supervisor and he will tell me the same thing. Then hangs up on me. I call back and tell this new person that I am a little upset because I was supposed to be switched to a supervisor and they hung up and next thing I know I hear click again. So in a matter of 5 minutes I have been hung up on twice.
I don't understand how they can't tell me whether something will be covered or not and they can't put me in contact with the group that is in charge with making those decisions because all communication with them is through email. Very shady. Terrible service. I regret ever agreeing to a warranty with them. It has turned out to be a waste of time and money and I will never file anything through them. So I wasted $400 getting this warranty. Please save your money. This company is awful.

I am switching from my old warranty because of the poor customer service. Nathan ** from Select Home Warranty was amazing and provided perfect customer service. He made sure I understood exactly what I was getting into and didn't shy away from all the questions making sure I was comfortable with this big decision. As far as first impressions go Nathan definitely helped show why you guys are rated #1 in customer service and I hope it doesn't stop there. I look forward to being a customer for a long time to come.

Adam did a great job of explaining the benefits of choosing Select Home Warranty. The gray news is there is no contract. I think I will like this company. He explained all the discounts I qualified for and I was eligible for 30% off. The deductible was half of what I previously paid. I hope I don't have to use them but it's nice to have a safety net. They even cover geothermal which we have. I am exceptionally pleased.

David was very friendly and able to close the deal with me. His explanations were to the point and he was able to communicate all the different types of amenities this warranty covered. Then we went over prices and visitation by the technician and I noticed that the prices were great followed by an explanation by David. After shopping around for other coverage, your company had the best prices and the most coverage-the biggest bang for the buck.

I needed a home warranty for my new house so I contacted Select Home Warranty Services online and they called me within only a few minutes. The price was very reasonable! Much cheaper than other companies I had dealt with in the past. Plus their cost for a service call was cheaper too. The customer service representative was very helpful. I looking forward to having them take care of my house for many years to come. I do not know what more I can say about Select Home Warranty.

I was a little reluctant to go with Select Warranty due to some reviews I read online. But I am happy to say that I believe I made the right decision by doing so. I have had to make a couple claims and so fair they have been clean and cut. One had one issue but was resolved. Customer service has been good so far as well. Claim turnaround is what is expected. No complaints so far. Thank you.

I surfed the internet and looked at Select Home and David called me, he was professional and very helpful! He explained everything and I felt comfortable buying my plan, I could have gone with several other companies that were blowing my phone up, but your Rep was kind, not pushy and I really feel I got a deal! I will recommend this company to all my friends and neighbors, I am a senior and get veteran benefits, he explained so much about what I could purchase, I could not really afford even with the payment plan he offered but I very satisfied. Platinum Contract sign up. I had a Good Experience. I was very pleased with the explanation of the service agreement. Bruce checked every possible way to save money and have me additional coverage on the repair policy. I was told that there is many contractors in the area. Signing up was easy. It only took a few minutes once I decide on a plan. Many things with the house are covered, more than what I thought was possible. This compared to other companies cost less and covers more.

Fridge is not cooling only the freezer side is working properly. Had to wait a long time to get approval. A lot of back and forth just to get approval for the repair. The customer service rep can only do so much. They will need to come up with a better process to assist customers with repairs. If I had not kept calling and asking questions I don't think I would have gotten any results. Also the contractor not do his part in submitting documentation to get repairs completed.

I submitted a request for repair and within 10 minutes I received a phone call for service. The customer service rep was efficient and the person who sold me the warranty sent my policy to me within minutes after I sent him an email. My last home warranty service was nothing like this. Thank you so much for your prompt service. Now waiting on my repair. Also I love that the service is affordable. I cannot comment much on value until service is rendered.

We filed a claim on 3/11/19. The phone representatives are very polite and assured us our claim was "escalated", but it is now 3/25/19, and we never have had a repairman assigned to our claim. We just kept being told the repairmen they work with are too backed up to respond to our claim, and receiving emails that a repairman will be assigned soon. We finally gave up and bought a new appliance and canceled the claim. Do not waste your money on this company.

It was a seamless process to obtain a new home warranty. Customer service was excellent and the sale representative offered me a Military/Veteran discount. The previous home owners had a home warranty with SHW, however they did not recommend SHW. I personally believe they were out of touch with reality! I will DEFINITELY recommend my friends to SHW! My wife and I conducted a great deal of research on home warranties; let me save you some time. It’s hard to bet what SHW has to offer.

Toilet flushing system constantly leaking. Problem repaired in a reasonable time. Plumbing company responded in a timely manner. The repairman was very courteous and knowledgeable. Repairman called before arrival. Time to repair was speedy and properly completed. The repair person explained the problem. He also explained the procedure with Select Home Warranty and how the approval would work. Upon approval the work was completed. The area that the work was done was left clean. The payment of the co-payment was done with a credit card.

The entire process was pretty easy, Zachary with Select provided great customer service along with answering all of my questions concerning the policy. I whittled down to three companies to choice from, and Select won out with their policy price and discounts. Most all of my concerns were answered or allayed. I'm really impressed by the rapid call when I requested the quote. I have a short rental property and the 2-4 hours repair service is the most important for me. The coverage is as well very good. It is quite enough to cover the essential needs of repair. I can ensure the quality customer care to the persons staying in my property. We have worked with SHW for a few years and have always had to wait months to get paid. Since September 2018 we have been calling daily, emailing once a week with invoices that are EXTREMELY outstanding. We have got ZERO response from them. They hound you to do the job but then don’t pay putting contractors out both on labor and parts. If you are a contractor stay far far away from this company. We have none of these issues with American Home Shield, New Leaf, CPS, or NSA...

The claims process was a snap, which I was grateful for. I did the claim online, at night, and got a callback less than 12 hours later. Then, the technician was assigned later that day and called us bright and early the next morning ready to go! So thankful for a smooth process and a quick resolution. The customer service rep was easy to talk to and even when I called to ask a question after the technician left, the customer service rep was patient and understanding.

They made the sign up process easy and simple and explained what is covered and what is not. Better choice than the company I was with before. Affordable pricing and simple and easy monthly payments. I paid my first payment with this company December 27- filed a claim on my washer March 6th- because i was 3 days shy of a 35 day hold then 30. New contract my claim was denied. When they kept asking when did I start having trouble with my washer, I don't keep a calendar on those type things so just looked up at my calendar at work and said "I don't know, just say Feb 28....Wrong answer. Canceled with them and going back to American Home Shield.

Really good home Warranty company, I enjoy the great customer service experience that you get from Select Home Warranty. The price was just right for the value received. The only reason for 4 stars is because they don't cover everything. I have had this company for 2 years and have not had any major problems with them.
