    Called in at 11 pm and spoke to a live representative. Good customer service. Received email afterwards to inform who was actually coming to my home. Gave a phone number I can call if the technician does not contact me. I look forward to my experience with the technician and hopefully he can resolve my electrical issue. Bought home warranty for a just in case type of thing. Did not think I would actually need them. Now I have 2 outlets that do not work and breaker keeps tripping when I use outside plug...     I had a problem with my HVAC system running longer than typical and it was making a loud noise. The upstairs was warmer than downstairs, but with a significance difference. I submitted a claim, but the contractor who took the job wasn't reliable. I called Select Home Warranty to let them know that this concerned me. Select Home Warranty gave me the option to locate a contractor in of my choice to complete the work, submit the receipt detailing the work done, pay them directly, and be reimbursed within 30 days.     I reported an issue online with a small appliance and received a call within a few hours or so. They took some information and helped me do some troubleshooting over the phone. When that failed they notified me that my appliance wasn't cost effective to repair so it would be replaced instead. That process is perhaps slightly overcomplicated (basically I pay for the replacement then get reimbursed up to the coverage limit after some paperwork) but overall I am extremely satisfied with the timeliness of the process and the resolution. This is what you want when you are shopping for home warranties!

    The company sent out a contractor and the contractor stated that we had a compressor issue. When we received the email on rather or not the claim would be approved it wasn't cover in the policy. When I called to asked why wasn't it covered the guy was very rude. He asked if I had papers going back 3 years to where the air conditioning had been serviced. I said yes and instead of him giving me an address to send information to he hung up in my face. Even the contractor told me this company is a RIP off. They don't value their customers at all. Your company was not in a place to even try to assist me. The contractor even told me about other people that had issues.

    Was very quick to send out a technician, they answered my email quickly and took care of our issue we had with our swamp cooler, I received an email that says they do not provide coverage the first 30 days after you start coverage so be aware of that, they are giving me $2000 in credit towards a full replacement of our evaporative cooler.     I am disappointed with the decision that was made. I still haven't received a contract yet letting me know what is covered and what is not. I have a leak in my ac unit and I was told that it was not covered. Well how would I have known that if I don't have a contract. I did speak with a supervisor who was really nice and she had nice customer service. But all together I am disappointed and I'm wondering if I should keep ya'll because if something else happens to anything else will you say it's not covered as well.

    The sale representative Sol is very helpful to offer the help for me, and offer me different options to my benefits. 3-years or 6-years periods warranty services are very attractive price. Since it's a new HOW for me, I decide to try 1 year warranty service and see how the service is. The coverage generally is very broad, except the coverage for air conditioner. Too bad Freon, Freon leakage, and coil are not covered. I haven't make a service call yet, so I cannot comment on how good the call service is.

    I am new to Home Select Warranty so trying to navigate was a bit difficult. The next issue I have a problem with is when calls are outsourced to call centers outside of the US. It leads to information not properly being received. During my call I had to explain over and over which is very frustrating. However, to be fair things were finally taken care of despite communication barriers. All in all I am looking forward to my experience with Home Select. I just wish you all have the option to manage services through a customer portal.

    Select Home Warranty refused to cover a repair to fix my AC system that my warranty should have covered. Instead of honoring the warranty by replacing a failed part in my AC system they fabricated a reason claiming it was a "maintenance issue" and falsely accusing me of failing to service my system although I have the receipt from when I paid to have my system serviced a few months ago. Select Home Warranty should be held accountable for their actions.

    The company will not replace our refrigerator. They say it is too old and will only reimburse us $185 after we repair it or replace it. It can't be fixed or repaired for that amount. We have had 2 other claims and the company has done the same thing. They come up with excuses not to do what they should and never give us our money upfront. We have to wait 4-6 weeks to get a check from them after we have paid up front for their service and out of pocket for deductibles and repairs.

    I have a LG front loader washer purchased for over $1000.00. They had someone come out and fix it and less than a month later it was broke again. Called back and the contractor cancelled his appointment on the same day and said they were going to order a whole new part. 2 1/2 WEEKS later and many ignored phone calls I receive an e-mail from Select Home Warranty saying they will give me $185.00 to REPLACE my washer because the the repair is worth more than the washer. The total part to replace was $250.00 and said I can pay the difference and they will send them out...BUT I have to send SHW the check for the difference FIRST. Now I am fighting with them to have them come out and fix what wasn't fixed in the first place! Same thing with my microwave. Over the range microwave only gave me $95.00 to purchase a new one because the repair was more than it was worth and my unit was only 3 years old. WORST COMPANY to TRUST!!!!!

    I switched over from 2-10 to Select Home. My freezer went out & plumbing issues. I am still waiting 3 weeks later for them to dispatch someone to come look at my freezer & an authorization for the plumber. Do not sign up with this company. You get what you pay for. Oh, and if your ice maker breaks, it's not included in your fridge---it's an extra $40 to add that for someone to come look at.

    Although the claims agents are polite, most of them don't seem to have much authority (or else don't take the initiative) to get issues handled. I have been calling in regards to the same electrical issue for about a month now. The first service provider came to my house, took my $100 deductible, said he wasn't finished and would be back, then was never heard from again (both by myself and SHW).

    The next technician assigned never called me to set up an appointment. When I reached out to them, they had no idea about the entire situation, that SHW said they would waive my $100 deductible for their service call (since I already paid someone who left the job unfinished), and were going to charge me their regular fees. I gave them my claim info to touch base with SHW, and never heard back.

    I called SHW to check on the status of them coming out to fix the issue and SHW informed me that they declined the job and that SHW would assign ANOTHER technician! I then received an email stating that SHW was having problems finding a technician in my area but that I could pay for the job out of pocket and be reimbursed... On the condition that I follow their strict protocols. At this point, I'm having a lot of trouble trusting SHW to hold up their end of the deal at all.

This plan covers more (including roof leakage) for less money and the service fee is lower.     I have been working with Select Home Warranty for several months to get my air conditioner checked. I called last fall and no service call was ever arranged. Then the claim seems to stall during the winter. This was a concern for me since there was a consumer incentive available in case we needed to replace an old air conditioner with an energy saving one (mine is 20+ years old, so I am thinking that there are more energy efficient systems out there), but since nothing was ever done, the incentive expired, which I may or may not have been able to use.

    I called again in early April for someone to check the A/C. It took several days for the technician to make an appointment with me. When he came out, he said it looked like a wiring issue. I have not heard from him so I called again to talk to the technician today and he said it took Select over 2 weeks to contact him when they said they would contact him within two hours. It looks like we are on track to get this claim resolved, but it seems to be a very slow process.

    SHW decided my stove was not repairable and provided me with $150 cash reimbursement. I believe that is far below what I should of been offered. A comparable electric range cost is about $1000. I understand range is 12 years old, but if you don't want to repair it, you should offer at least $250, or 25% of the value of a comparable electric range. I'm just submitting my paid receipts to the proper email. Let's see how long it will take to get reimbursed.

    Filed a claim on our heating system which is an oil furnace boiler. Customer service is rude. Different explanation as to why the claim is denied on multiple occasions. 1st denial was for an HVAC unit. 2nd denial was that valves aren't covered. Contract is VERY misleading and they have so many loopholes, it is safe to assume NOTHING is actually covered under this warranty. Save yourself the headache and buy your home warranty from another company. Stay away from Select Home Warranty.

    I have had numerous home warranties in the past and actually was dropped by one company for using it too much. Jonathan assured me that this would not happen with SELECT.     I have been very disappointed with the service I am receiving from Select Home Warranty. I had my claim denied on my plumbing and no one even responded to me to tell me that. I now have a issue with my A/C and I filed the claim early yesterday morning and urgent. I was told that I would receive a response within 24 hours and still have not heard from anyone. I have water leaking into my house and I cannot get any help from this company that I pay for.

    I have had a miserable experience with Select Home Warranty not 1 but 3 times. Every time I contact them for service, what I am asking is suddenly not covered. The latest refusal was my ice maker. When I took out the policy, I specifically asked the salesperson if icemakers were covered as some warranty companies did not cover them. I was advised that they were. I signed up and paid for a year of coverage plus 2 additional riders for additional coverage. There was not an option for a rider for ice makers so I assumed the sales person had given correct information.

    Now, almost a year later, the company says, "Sorry, the sales person misadvised you." Why is this my problem and not your company's? All your foreign phone bank will say is sorry. That is not a good enough answer. How can I purchase additional coverage for something that was not offered. I will continue to pursue this but in the meantime, please believe me when I say, I am posting bad reviews anywhere and everywhere I can. No one else should have this experience. If you are considering purchasing a Select Home Warranty, I advise you to think twice.

    Nice surprise that they support military veterans with a discount. Sales rep was courteous and understanding when I needed to cut short our conversation and get to the point.     If I could give them a Negative stars I would! I'd like to start by saying that they have a great sales team, boy did they sell the heck out of the warranty. I chose the premium coverage as I wanted the most thorough coverage for our new home. When I explained to the sales rep what I wanted covered he recommended the premium coverage so that's what I got. At the time I purchased it I was still covered by my then current home warranty, which he stated was a great thing since I could not make a claim on home warranty through Select for the first 30 days. For me I saw this as a WIN-WIN as I would have no lapse in coverage for my home.

    I purchased the Select policy on Feb 4th 2019, my other policy covered us through the end of March. I was informed at the time of purchasing the warranty that I could cancel at any time and receive a refund. What they failed to tell me was that a full refund was only within the first 30 days of purchasing, they also failed to tell me that if I decided to cancel at anytime after the 30 days I would be charged a $75 cancellation fee in addition to whatever admin costs the cancellation would accrue.

    On March 6th I put my first claim in with Select for my heater that was making a weird nose, it sounded like a bottle rocket taking off. I could have used my other warranty company since I was still covered but I decided to see how this one worked so I put the claim in with Select. I also added a claim for my sprinkler system that was acting wonky after it being off all winter. Ladies and gentlemen that's when the fun began!

    The technician came out are looked over my heater, they said that they thought it could possibly be a valve and that's what they were putting on the report. Within the hour of the technician's visit I received a denial on the claim. I called to inquire why and they said Freon (sp?) is not a covered charge. After having spoken with the tech myself I told them that Freon was not the issue that it was a valve issue and that is what was submitted as such. The Select rep then proceeded to tell me that when they called the technician to inquire on the repair they asked him a bunch of questions, one of which was is the unit low on Freon? The technician answered it's not low on Freon but it could use some more. At that point they denied the my claim based on the fact that they said there was a Freon leak, even though at no point in time did the technician say there was a leak.

    I got off the phone with Select and called the technician and asked him about his conversation with the warranty company. He said he never told them there was a leak, that he specifically told them that the valve was worn due to normal wear and tear. I told him they denied it for a Freon leak and he said there was no leak, all he told them was it could use more Freon but it didn't need more Freon for it to work properly. He compared it to a car having 3/4 of a tank of gas, he said could it use more gas, sure, but it will run just fine on the gas it has.

    I called Select back and they went on and on about it being low on Freon and there being a leak, I said I spoke to the technician YOU sent out and the technician YOU contracted. They are saying it's the valve and you are denying my claim as a Freon issue when there isn't a Freon issue. I talked to 3 or 4 different reps before speaking to a supervisor who was no helpful in the least. The only option he gave me was getting a second technician to come out and I would have to repay the technician fee, which to me was not OK since their technician said it was not a Freon issue. We went back and forth for a few days and then I got fed up and told them that I wanted to cancel my contract and request a refund. That's when I found out all the nitty gritty details that they failed to mention during the sales pitch (shame on me for not reading all the fine print).

    I spoke to the cancellation dept and they asked why I wanted to cancel, I explained to them my frustration with getting the repair done on my heater, he read through the diagnosis and the technician report and all the notes and finally said, "Oh it should not have been denied for Freon, it should have been denied because we don't replace valves (that wasn't in the heating sections of warranty). Please refer to pg 14 chapter 9 (or whatever it was) where it states we don't replace valves of any kind."

    SO I spent almost a week arguing with them for a repair that was justified in that it wasn't a Freon leak only to be told that they don't cover valves, all that headache could have been alleviated if they had just given me the correct denial instead of going with the first wrong thing. I was more than a little miffed. Needless to say I told the rep exactly how I felt and he agreed that I had a right to be frustrated. He said he would give me 2 technician visit for free so I would not have to pay the technician fee the next 2 times I had someone come out. I agreed to keep the policy and give them another chance.

    On to my sprinkler claim.... This experience ladies and gentlemen was by far one of the most draining, extensive, time consuming processes I have EVER gone through in my 38 years! Once the claim was put in I kept getting an emails saying they were working on getting a technician out. Once I finally got a technician, about 3 days later, I called them and they informed me that they were no longer working with Select because they took too long to pay out. I called Select back and informed them of this and then 2 wks later I got an authorization to have a company of my choosing come out and diagnose the problem. They would reimburse me up to $150 for the consult.

    I had a company come out and diagnose the issue and gave me an estimate on what it would cost to repair/replace the well pump. I emailed the diagnosis/estimate and about 2 days later I received a denial. I called them to inquire about the denial and they stated that I did not have sprinkler coverage. That's why the claim was denied. I told her that she was wrong. I did in fact have coverage since I picked the premium package. She put me on hold for about 5 minutes and came back on the line and told me that she was going to resend to claims to get re-evaluated. I waited and waited and waited and waited. I called almost every day for about 2 wks and they kept telling me it was in authorizations and there was nothing they could do to get them to expedite the claim.

    I think I talked to 6 or 7 different reps and none of them could get me an answer on why it was taking so long for them to approve my claim. I asked over and over again to speak to a manager and every time I did I was on hold for so damn long. Once after waiting over 40 mins they hung up on me. Every single time I called back I spoke to someone different and would have to restart my whole issue only to be put on hold countless times for them to investigate what the problem was and at the end of the conversation I was no closer to an answer than I was before. All I kept getting was, "Call back tomorrow after 10 am and we should have an answer for you." This went on for a total of three weeks.

    Everyday calling was so extremely frustrating and time consuming. I really don't know how this company has such great customer service reviews because my experience with them was just awful. I spent so much of my work day having to leave the office to sit on hold and get nothing resolved. I finally got frustrated and called the cancellation number to talk to the same guy that talked me into keeping the policy. He said he didn't understand why I didn't have resolution or why I waited so long to talk to a manager. I told him that I requested several times to talk to a manager and was never put through. I vented and told him all my frustrations and told him that I would like a refund of my policy as getting things repaired that are actually covered under the warranty requires way too much work on my end to try to get them to do their job.

    He proceeded to tell me that if people actually read their contracts they would know that there is a lot of stuff that is not covered and had I read my policy I would see that they do not cover major repair or replacements within the first 90 days. I said woah woah woah, I was never told that when I was purchasing the policy, had I known that I don't know that I would have purchased it as that would have left me without coverage for a few months and in an older home that's never a good idea. He again told me I should have read my policy and that if I still wanted to cancel I would be charged $75 cancellation fee plus I would be charged for every day that I had coverage and that would be deducted from the premium refund.

    I feel like I was very mislead by this company. There's a lot of smoke and mirrors going on and they go extremely out of their way to make sure they DO NOT cover your items. In fact "SELECT" home warranty is a very fitting name for them. I spent a ton of hours and frustrations dealing with this warranty company. I explained to the rep that this was by far my worst experience with any company and that I wanted my full refund back due to all the pain and aggravation they put me through. He said that he would add it to the note but there was nothing he could do for me. That seems to be every single rep I talked to's standpoint; "Nothing more I can do." The lack of communication and knowledge from the customer service staff made an already difficult situation even more difficult. I will reiterate again.... WORST COMPANY I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH!

    I have a problem with my dishwasher door not latching properly, I filed a online repair request, the next day they said they needed more infomation, I immediatly knew that this was going to be a problem. I called them and gave all the information to them. Two days later I was informed by E-Mail my repair request was denied. Apparently they do not cover the door latch. I then called and a agent spent the next 10 minutes reading me exclusions of coverage. Once again the repair request was denied. Talk about reading the fine print. Select Home Warranty did not mention exclusions when I signed up for the coverage. I wonder how many times they use exclusions for other customers so they do not have to pay for repairs.

    I purchased their, "premier warranty" and am very displeased. When they sold this to me they claimed it was the best warranty under the sun and they would even replace my furnace if needed. Well that was all B.S. as my furnace would make an explosion sound when it fired. The furnace was very dangerous and I had to turn it off, when I submitted my claim there is a drop down box to select your problem. I selected, "makes loud noise" which was the closest to my problem. Select told me they have 24-48 hours to review my claim. When they called to ask additional questions I asked them to resolve this as my heat does not work and it was around 50 degrees outside.

    The next day they denied my claim saying they do not cover loud noises, why do they even have that as a selection is beyond me. I told them my heater is not working and needs to be fixed, they said since it is not working I had to submit another claim which would take another 24-48 hours to review. The following day they called and asked more questions and attempted to deny the claim again. After being placed on hold several times and being transferred they agreed to send a technician within 24-48 hours, 'keep in mind it is cold outside in Indiana'. The technician arrived three days from my original claim and found the problem and said it was normal wear and tear and would call the warranty company and let them know.

    Select then wanted me to send pictures and 3 years of maintenance records. Since I was not able to provide them with 3 years of records they denied my claim and gave me a maximum of $150.00 towards repair costs. Since the first time I attempted to make the claim they wanted to deny it and am not surprised by their decision. I will never recommend this company to anyone. Three weeks later I still have no heat as the repair company said they tried to call Select several times to get the approval but would get the run around as well. The repair company felt bad about the entire experience and gave me a discount and said they will no longer work for Select.

    I typically do not leave reviews but I am so unhappy with the experience that I truly felt like I needed to warn others before they purchase through this company. I purchased my policy for 3 years and paid in full because it was the best deal. I filed one claim which went pretty smooth. However this second claim that I filed has been such a headache.

    I started the process in December when my washer broke, took about 2 weeks for them to send someone to check it who then determined that it would cost more to fix than to buy a new one so Select Home Warranty offered me a reimbursement of $150.00 which I agreed upon. I sent all the docs that they asked to process the reimbursement and called to see how much of a refund I would receive if I canceled my policy early, I was told they would have to submit to back office to see what the refund would be and that I would be contacted.

    Turns out that person actually canceled my policy WITHOUT my consent. I called to ask why my policy was canceled and to ask that it be reinstated as I was still waiting on my $150 reimbursement, I was told that was done and refund would be issued, here we are in May, still no refund, keep being told that I will not get one because the policy was canceled. I spoke to a supervisor on 03/22 who ASSURED me I would get a refund within 14-21 business day, yet nothing. I will keep calling until I have something resolved. WARNING: avoid the headache and go with another company.

    I had a problem with my microwave tripping the breaker, don't know what the problem was electric or microwave. Select Home Warranty told me to go buy a new microwave and send in receipt for reimbursement. I sent in receipt. They told me it was under review wait 24 to 48 hours to hear back. It has been 8 days now and now they told me they are sending me $125.00 not full cost of microwave which cost me $419.19. I asked them several times to check it out as I wasn't sure why the breaker tripped, they said it was cheaper to replace the microwave, and when I asked about what to do if it wasn't the microwave. They told me to call back and make a claim for the electrical. Turns out it was an electrical problem not the microwave so now I am out $419.00, plus $100.00 for installation.

    I had a simple tub drainage issue and filed a claim for a plumber to unclog the drain. This has been the most horrible experience ever. The first contractor Select Home warranty sent came promptly to help but SHW denied them from doing the work saying their cost were too high. I had to wait two more days for another assigned contractor. This contractor never called me and when I contacted them the plumber told me they no longer do business with Select Home Warranty because of an ongoing dispute.

    I called Select again and they again said I will get assigned another contractor. Instead I received an email stating that my problem was not covered but I could purchase optional coverage. I called Select and they said the claim was denied (after being approved twice) because I had not purchased the optional septic tank coverage. I don't have a septic tank!!!! I talked to several layers of management to attempt to get a refund. Bottomline - they just want your money and will not provide you the service you are expecting! Buyer beware!!

    Filed initial claim over 10 days ago. Claim was validated and contractor was sent out. SHW then denied the contractor from doing the work because the cost exceeded their guideline. Assigned another contractor days later who refused to book an appointment with me because they said "we are having issues with this company and are no longer accepting work from them." I have called repeatedly and said it will get resolved. The final straw is now I have received an email saying this is not covered in my contract after they have approved it twice and it clearly stating that it is covered in my contract. This company is very unhelpful and I am seeking a full refund of my recently renewed contract with them.

    The caller was very persistent with the sale and still got the address wrong. Listening is very important when trying to sell a product over the phone. The caller repeated the correct address but the contract address is wrong. I will be calling customer service to make sure it is corrected. The first one said it was the pump and needed another one. Ordered it.     I was misguided with the reviews that Select warranty has. This is the first time I tried to change my warranty company to save few dollars and I got my lesson. Select warranty dont let you open a single claim when you have multiple appliances or things need service. You have to open separate claim for each item and pay deductibility for each item separately. Not just that I got this warranty less than 6 months ago and now unfortunately my a/c condenser leaked and ice maker not working so they made me open separate claims and end up rejecting both the claims saying they don't cover those 2 items, I have to pay $39.99 extra to cover ice maker. I have been with AHS for last 7 years and never was my claims rejected with that silly reason. Beware with Select warranty... Read the disclosures carefully before you go to SELECT.. I say do not go for SELECT warranty...

    I got a warranty with Select in January - my heating system stop working. I contact select to put in a claim. My granddaughter lives with me. Select did nothing for the whole month. My granddaughter ended up with the flu and I got sick as well. I continue to call about getting the job done they continued to give me the runaround. Finally they sent out a contractor. They said due to the Freon leak in my heater they were not covering. Mind you this is now April almost May and when did electric heating furnace start using Freon. They don't care if you cancel your contract because if they can get a million people to sign up they made millions of dollars. What you need to do is join next door in your neighborhood and tell your neighbors to beware and check out their bad reviews on BBB which I should have check out before I got them. I will pay to have my furnace fixed and get a better home warranty company next - I will do my due diligence.

He tried to get me the most items covered at the best price along with discounts that I might qualify for including Senior Discounts.     Jeff was friendly and forthcoming, answered my questions and was helpful in securing a contract for both sides of a duplex.     Rep was very professional and informative. Very patient and took his time to answer all of my questions.     Called customer service to report a problem. They were very efficient in taking my information and told me I would get a call within a day. Within 24 hours I did receive a call to to set up the service appointment. The service company was very prompt and was able to fix the problem. I was pleased with both customer service and repair.     Claim was denied because they don't replace whole systems in the first 30 days of coverage (which actually starts 30 days after you pay). We called and a tech came out and said the water heater needs replaced. It's one of three in my home heating the water. Select Home Warranty sent me an email saying it was denied because it was an entire system. When I called and asked for clarification the customer service representative said what they meant was that they don't replace anything in the first 30 days (which is actually 60). I don't care what they mean, they need to hold to the agreement. Then they conveniently couldn't find a supervisor when I asked to speak to one.
