Two repairs needed and two bad experiences.
1) Refrigerator not working: Technician came fairly quickly, collected my $45 copay, said he would be back in a couple of days when the parts arrived and never returned. He wasn't reachable by phone. They made me wait a week to see if he could be located before sending a second technician. He collected another $45, told me the coils were frozen, no parts were needed, just turn it off for 24 hours to thaw out. This solved the problem. The company would not refund the second $45 to me, but supposedly will give me credit for this on the next repair.
2. Air conditioner quit working. Within a day, I had a technician name and number and was told to expect a call. After 3 days I called him and was told he couldn't come for 4 more days. I'm now going to find my own repairman, pay him directly, and wait until Select Home Warranty reimburses me.

Nathan provided all the information needed to explain all that is included in the program. Offered several options to further help save me money on this purchase. Very friendly and sincere on his sales approach. Would highly recommend this company if you're looking for a home warranty company. Their pricing compared to all the other companies I called on was by far the lowest not only in the total cost but the in the service call fees and incentives they offer are amazing.

I am not quite sure what all of these positive reviews are about. I have had Select Home Warranty for a year now, 3 claims and the best excuses as to why they cant reimburse me. 1. Garage door went out, they called a service tech to come out. He showed up, I paid him $60 for the call and he said, "yep the garage door is out." DUH!! He called me back 2 weeks later to let me know it would be $250 to replace. SHW then tells me I have to pay out of my pocket and they will reimburse me $120 90 days after I have it installed. I haven't seen my check and this was 9 months ago....
2. My heater went out. The furnace wouldn't light properly so I submitted a claim. They had someone come out and try and repair it, that lasted about 3 days. SHW couldn't get someone back out for about a week so I had a friend who works on them come look at it. He told me the problem and the SHW tech that came out totally missed it. My friend gave me a list of things that were wrong so I called SHW and they told me unless their tech noticed this, they couldn't help me. I then was without heat, at that point, for a few days. I had to pay $1500 out of my pocket to replace a faulty heater. I read the terms and conditions on heaters on the SHW page. 3 out of the 4 components that were faulty were covered by SHW to be replaced. I said screw it, Ill replace it because I don't have time to mess with these people. I need heat. Out $1500.
3. Hot water tank went out in April. Submitted claim April 8. I kept getting emails from SHW saying they cant find a tech in my area (I live in a large city). Finally, after 3 weeks of not having hot water, I called a plumber myself and had him come diagnose the problem. He gave me a list of things that were wrong so I researched them on the SHW terms and conditions page. Again, but this time, everything that was wrong with the hot water tank was covered. I called SHW and they said they are still looking for a tech in my area, now a month out. I went ahead and had the plumber I found replace it. It sucks having a family that has no hot water for 1 month because they cant find a tech to come look at it.
So, once again, I paid $1050 out of my pocket to have hot water. After I got my receipt with all that was wrong, I submitted it for reimbursement to SHW and got the run around again. First, telling me it has to be a tech they provide, then they wanted to plumber who installed it to call them and explain what was wrong. He tried to call twice, never to get in touch with anyone. He said he wasn't going to call them back, he didn't have the time. I get it. After all this, me paying out over $2700 to have things that my SHW should have covered, I am canceling my service, much to their displeasure. The rep I spoke to didn't give one care in the world that I was canceling! Stay away from SELECT HOME WARRANTY unless you don't mind getting the run around!!!!

I took recently home warranty from Select Home Warranty. Very helpful customer service and satisfied with the service. Will recommend to friend. Great service and great price. Lot of options to chose from to fit the need. And customer service to help choose the plan fit your need and your pocket. Very flexible and if not satisfied then option to cancel and get refund based on prorated. Very knowledgeable customer service rep. Local technicians to help and provide quick service.

The day of my enrollment I was at work and being interrupted several times and my representative, Ben **, was extremely accommodating. I had looked at other services and was very pleased with the quoted services provided Select Home Warranty. I have since recommended SHW to other friends and family. I would like the opportunity to give further review once I have filed a claim. But my initial experience has been noteworthy. I didn't realize at the time of doing my contract, that I could have added my rental property as well. That's something I definitely might look into adding.

Ordered policy online. Was called several times and emailed shortly after asking to confirm information. Caller tries to upsell you a 5 year plan. Caller was polite and not pushy, but persistent. Typical template answers to your reasons why you just want to stay at a year. Rates and things are negotiable to an extent. Caller stated he would ask his manager for approval to reduce an extra $100 discount, places you on hold a second, then comes back to tell you he got you the special pricing. Overall, not a bad experience, though a fairly typical "sales call" type of experience. Hopefully will have same experience when needing to make a claim.

I got the contract with Select Home Warranty back in January 2018 and never used them until July 2019. I needed a plumbing job which was a clogged bathroom drain and an electrical job which was the ballast and a electrical switch done at my home. I was very pleased with the customer service and the work that was done. Customer service was very informative and the electrical and plumbing company did a good job.

Spoke with claims individual and customer service rep. Very helpful and polite. They both seemed to be aware of the contract and my particular situation. The second individual I spoke with offered to expedite my claim as it has to do with AC in the middle of the summer. Appreciated that. They seem to know the policy and were helpful. These warranties can get a bad reputation in the public, but I have been pleased so far.

Customer rep was very nice and there was hardly any wait time but I was really hoping to have someone come out today as my water heater is leaking as it is shot and it has buckled some of my floor in my family room. This is my time using your company but my past companies I would have someone out the next day. Hopefully they contact me soon as I am going to have real mess in my house. Experience was fine and professionally done...no extra time required or wasted. Am not totally OK with the dollar amount coverage for repairs. Limiting your repair costs to a specific amount or depreciable amount or not replacing an irreparable unit for a one for one exchange is not what I had in mind. Additionally your policy states that installation costs for replaced units, in all probability, will not be paid nor will the cost for a crane to be utilized to install a roof air conditioner/heating unit be covered. This is something else that I do not appreciate.

I usually don't answer unfamiliar phone numbers but I decided to today. The casual voice on the other end of the phone politely explained he was from Select Home Warranty and their promotion that I inquired about online was ending today. He did not pressure me to buy rather informed me about the product and provided me his contact information if I had questions. About an hour later I decided to call back and purchase the product. I'm hoping all my future interactions will be as smooth.

Very informative, went over the plan in detail and made so I could understand the program. Had a lot of questions about the contract and he went over these items in detail. I had questions about the service fee and it was covered well. It sounds like a very good deal and I hope it works if I ever need to file a claim. We just signed up with Select Home Warranty and the enrollment process couldn't have been smoother. My husband had questions so he called and all of his questions were answered quickly. The rep was very knowledgeable. The platinum coverage level is very inclusive and offered at a great, competitive price. It covers everything. The opportunity to add on additional items such as a sprinkler system is even better. Obviously, we hope we don't have to use the coverage but feel sure it will be a great process if so!

I do not have over seventy five separate words to say about this transaction which took place at approximately four o clock this afternoon Monday the twenty ninth day of July in the year two thousand and nineteen. I had a great experience with Daniel and am very happy with my new extended contract. I look forward to feeling protected for any problems I might have in my home. Representative Ben was very helpful and explained all the features in detail. He made sure I understood everything and helped me with the best plan and prices. I shopped other sites and Select Home Warranty was the best possible choice for me. I also received my contract and summary of my coverage in an email which was sent right away Tony email address. Also I got a receipt for the charge sent to my email right away. All in all I was very happy with the experience.

Not bad at all. They assign a technician within 48 hrs and also even though they didn’t cover my AC unit because I wasn’t 60 days into my contract they did give me a 250.00 courtesy towards my expense... which was nice of them, other companies would have just said, “Sorry ma’am but there’s nothing we can do at this point.” I am a new customer but so far so good not to mention that the service charge is pretty affordable and reasonable as well.

Patrick was very polite & asked pointed questions. He took info, looking for specific info & locations of showers that needed repair. He repeated info given then gave me the two claim numbers, stated there was one fee & that Dispatch would determine who was available in my area, email me with a plumber's contact info so I could schedule an appointment to fit my schedule. He said the process could take up to 48 hours. Handled very professionally.

Connor ** did a great job of explaining the contract and the advantages of a five year plan. We signed up today because of his explanation and because of the company's offerings to veterans. Connor explained my discounts as a veteran of the United States Army. I feel at ease that the major appliances in the house are covered. I do not have to worry about leaving my wife a huge maintenance money pit. Thank you.

They even don't deserve even 1 star. Without giving any star you can't write this review. That's why I gave 1 star. My experience with this company is horrible. Totally fraud company. There is no customer service. Once they will take your money you will no longer able to get any resolution from them. I never write reviews. But this time, I was so upset with this company that I had to write this review to help, other people. Stay away from this company.

It was a good experience and we were enrolled quickly. We got what we wanted in regards to our plans and any and all questions we had were answered to our satisfaction. Nathan was very helpful and pleasant and his customer service was excellent. I would feel comfortable recommending him to friends. I look forward to having Select Home Warranty being there for my household. If I have any more questions I will of course call but as of right now I am good.

He is to the help and wants to get business done and does so in a courteous manner. I have heard of home owners warranties for several years. I have never really had to replace anything which is a good reason to purchase a warranty. There are a lot of items and things in a house that we all don't think about that are above and beyond the things a person sees with their eyes. Something will break eventually.

I don't know how you knew, but I have been thinking of getting a home warranty plan. Today I got an email from you. Ray ** was very polite and knowledgeable. He explained the different offers and gave me a chance to decide which one I wanted. I just want the one year plan for now. Most of my appliances are new. I'm mostly concerned about the more costly systems such as A/C, electrical, and plumbing.

Purchased 3 yr contract. Looks good. I like the plan. The service was very quick, friendly and competent. I look forward to using the new service. I have not yet had the opportunity to use the company service but look forward to using it. This plan offers a lot of peace of mind to me and my family. I find this a little hard to do because I have not yet had a claim serviced and that will tell me a whole lot about the service and this company.

Sprinkler System. Hi. Since there is no app or email to check the status we need to call and wait over the phone for considerable time to know the claim status. To assign a Handyman services and approve the claim it took little more time but overall satisfying experience with this claim being a first timer. I prefer when the claim status gets changed we should be notified, currently it is not working properly but from actual work standpoint we are happy the job is done good.

Select Home needs more operators like the one I had. He verified that they marketed me and allowed a shorter wait time for my policy to start. Our home is 6 years old. We just bought it two months back. All the appliances came with the home and basically nothing is in manufacture warranty so decided to buy home warranty and just bought this one and got a very good price with all coverage. Bundle it for 3 years and got 6 months free. They said they have 24/7 service available so that nice, 1-month waiting period which is also reasonable. I think it is a good deal.

The rep was totally unprofessional and rude. The claim was handled unfairly and we were without air conditioning for over 2 weeks during a heat wave in Texas. I know they won’t give any thought to my response as I called them 6 or 7 times and every rep I spoke to was unapologetic and unconcerned... 2 of them actually giggled when I told them it was 87 degrees in our bedroom. I switched to this company to have a better experience of home warranty companies... WOW did I make a mistake. I am 60 yrs old and cannot remember an experience and service this bad in my life. Their extremely rude representative said after she beat me down over the issue, “Have a wonderful day”. Don’t use this company, you WILL regret it.

They kept us on the hook for over 3 weeks before telling us we are not covered! We were lucky to have 2 window units to cool a 2000 sq ft trip level home! Why couldn’t they just tell us in the beginning. They even sent out a service man that we paid $60 for. We cancelled our service with them! Waiting now to see if we get any of our money back!

Please use your money on a reputable home warranty service. Tried to get them to service and only got the same routine script reading on each and every one of our twenty plus phone calls “A contractor will be contacted and will be in touch with you in 24-48 hours”. Over and over. We tried every avenue to get the work done to no avail. Save your money, and go elsewhere!

For most of the issues with your appliances, they are not going to cover them. Stay away, cheap and ** company. If you will question them, they will hand phone on you. Bought policy for $500, after two and half months submit one claim which was denied for no reason, even without sending technician. When asked for refund, they offered me only $134. When signed up with them they said if you not satisfied, get full refund in first 90 days and prorated after 90 days which is policy amount/number of months in policy X number of months used.

I called SHW about my plumbing, explained the situation several times to someone who really did not understand English probably because she did not speak English well. After explaining several times to the person the problem, she finally decided to send a plumber over to assess the issue. I explained that when I fill the tub, as the tub fills, water runs from underneath the toilet and under the wall into the back bathroom onto the floor. The plumber came out to the house and assessed the problem (he noted that he wanted to bring the shower faucet up to code as he worked on my main issue which was the water coming from out of nowhere).
After that day in April, no one contacted me from SHW to let me know what was what. So, in May, I sent an email inquiring about the plumbing. I also called the plumbing company who told me the truth. They told me that they had not heard back from SHW about my claim or 13 other claims, but she would call me when she heard something. So, I ended up calling a few weeks later. When I spoke with the plumbing company at that time, I was told that SHW did not want to cover the labor and some of the fixtures. I emailed SHW and stated that I wanted my money back.
Whenever I tried to use the company for anything, there was a problem. I was never able to use them for any of the services of which I purchased. They sent me $40 back of $586 that I paid to them outright. Then they lied to the Attorney General's Office about my contract and the lies kept coming. I feel like I have been deceived and will never trust another company like this again. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY IF YOU MIND WAITING MONTHS FOR A RESPONSE AND DO NOT MIND BEING MANIPULATED.

BUYER BEWARE!!! Shenanigans ahead with this company!!! JULY 2019 call to report HVAC problem. Cust rep asked me about the unit (history of repairs, PM's completed, explanation of problem, etc). Claim filed, I was told I would rec an email w/in 48 hours with contact info for HVAC company to schedule technician. Instead I receive a denial to my claim "Freon leaks not covered." No technician came to my home. Confused I called and was directed to hire my own HVAC tech and send in diagnosis and appeal claim. Did so after paying a local company their call out fee.
Diagnosis - corroded coil not repairable, caused Freon to leak out. Appeal denied based on "Freon leaks not covered". Canceled my policy but not before being charged a fee and prorated amount at the non-discounted rate at which I had paid. Upon purchasing the policy I was told air handler and condensing were covered. Also beware of tricky language "primary HVAC" if you have more than 1 unit you have to pay additional per year for the 2nd unit, sales didn't tell me that.

I recently purchased a 5 year SHW for my home and a one year for a rental. I was informed by the sales agent the warranty would be effective in 30 days. Sounded fine and good... but my a/c fan in the rental went out just past the 30 days. I called and requested a service tech the following day. I was informed it would be 24-48 hours to get a work order. Not true, it was that long to get an email back saying they were trying to find someone. After four calls, over two days I finally got a work order. Add another 24-48 hours for the tech to inspect the unit. Remember it’s 90 degree plus...renters are irate. Tech arrives and determines fan has to be replaced, NOT repaired, which I found out was a limitation of the warranty. I also learned at this time (extremely poor service) that my Warranty was not effective at all.
The full cost of the repair $1090 would be mine to pay because my repair was slightly over 30 days in place. It has to be 60 days from start of the contract, not 30 days as I was told by the sales rep. I battled this issue through 5, yes 5 levels of staffing to a claims manager...on the phone for more than 2 hours. Nothing is easy as the company structure is totally set up to be email related, no personal contacts or assistance just another email communication within 24-48 hours. If I hadn’t demanded to talk with a manager, it wouldn’t have happened. Of course all this time the a/c was still out. The claims manager comprised only to say 60 days is their policy (not what I was told) and SHW would provide a $350 customer service claim. I reluctantly accepted, had the repair tech replace the fan. I paid for in total.
I sent SHW the receipt to obtain reimbursement, which they acknowledged with another email saying someone would contact me in 48 hours to confirm and initiate. Five days later, no contact... I called and learned, that their email was wrong...I had to call them to start the process. And learned that they would send a form in 24-48 hours which I have to complete and return to start the payment reimbursement process. After they receive back, they have up to 30 days to make payment. What a rip off and customer service debacle. I cannot wait for this saga to end. I will cancel both SHW contracts and get as far from SHW as possible.

I phoned in about the fact that my well pump pressure switch was not working. A simple fix but since I paid my premium, felt they could arrange the fix. Expected to hear back within 24 hours as they advertise. No response. Called the next day, they had the order as "replace well pump". Not sure where they got that info. Called customer service to correct order. Representative had no idea what I was talking about. She suggested that I call my own plumber and have it fixed, no idea if Select would then pay me. Very confusing, language barrier obviously the problem. I am sure I will not renew at the end of this contract. Just terrible service. Still waiting to hear back. Chances are I will just go out and buy the switch and replace it myself.

I received an e-mail offering me a Home Warranty Insurance. I looked into it and was very surprised to see that their coverage was wonderful at a very reasonable rate! So I signed up and cancel my other insurance.

Started 2 claims during the first week of May. They sent the same repair company for both issues and they were out of Beaufort SC, "Problem Solvers". Paid the 75.00 for the site visit on each claim. They ordered the wrong parts for my refrigerator and did not repair it. They told me for 2 months the part would be in in a couple of days. It never came in. I had to find someone else to come out and look at my refrigerator and he immediately identified the problems as a sealant leak. He advised me it would be cheaper to replace the fridge since the coolant system was a sealed system and the entire coolant system would have to be replaced.
I bought a new refrigerator and then submitted a request to be reimbursed. They told me I was only approved for 150.00 towards a new fridge. When I submitted my claim the denied my reimbursement because the original company "Problem Solvers" submitted an invoice for 262.oo for coming out with the wrong part they ordered and tried to put it in. This is some **!!!! So to make a long story short. I got nothing for my Fridge.
Then the second claim with my dryer was first diagnosed as a belt replacement. AGAIN FOR 2 MONTHS, THEY COULD EITHER NOT FIND my paperwork or the part would be in in in a couple of days. Again I had to find someone else to look at my dryer and repair it. Turned out it was not a belt but the pulley wheel for the belt. I then had to pay them and then put in a request to be reimbursed. I was told that the process could take up to 2 months!!!! Can you believe that crap!!!
Then when I asked to the 10th time to cancel my contract they told me by the time the deducted fees and everything. That out of 400.00 I paid for 12 months I would on receive 50.00 back because they had to prorate the last 3 month that I have been arguing with them about my 2 claims I submitted. They will give you their name and number but never answer their phones or return you calls. Very professional and understanding. This is the second problem with my account. First problem was bad capacitor. Went bad on very hot day. I was allowed to find my own contractor to expedite repair, in which I'll be reimbursed. Second problem a few days later was fan making a squealing sound, claim was accepted no problem. Thanks guys. I'm currently awaiting call from contractor to do repair. Service charge is very reasonable. I didn't get any hassle of making two claims back to back. So far very satisfied. I have been having a refrigerator problem for past 3 weeks. Unfortunately, I was covered under Select Home Warranty. So, I reached out to them to send in someone to take a look. After 4 follow up calls and multiple emails, someone was sent to my home to check out the issue. As per the salesperson, the warranty company is supposed to respond within 24-48 hours.
Once the repair technician reached home, he suggested that the fridge needs some parts to be replaced, and it needs an authorization from the warranty company. So, they sent all details to the warranty company, and the SHW started looking into it. After 4 days, I called them for an update, the rep said they are escalating the issue. After 6 days, I called again and the rep said they are escalating the issue. After 7th and 8th day of follow up, I still hear that they are escalating the issue. Meanwhile, my refrigerator remains broken. I was volunteering to refer this company to my friends in my community. Not anymore. I am sure a whole bunch of people face the same issue with this company. Claim #**

1) Waited 2 weeks for a dishwasher repair, finally had to go out and buy one myself. They gave me $150 because it wasn't quite 3 months. I spent $600 plus a whole lot of aggravation.
2) Capacitor went on my central air conditioning. Heard nothing for a week after I filed a claim. They finally told me to find someone myself. I spent $632. They Only gave me $150 because I did not have 3 years of maintenance on a home I only purchase 10 months prior.
Everyone needs to take the time to read all the tiny words they have hidden. Do not believe the salesman. Very misleading. Since I purchased warranty rating dropped from number 5 to number 11 and I understand why. Their ability to find a repair technician is non-existing, they make you do all the work and sit back and tell you why they can't pay you. They have a nice little money making machine - seems like the outfit is run from the back of someone's garage. BEWARE!!

I bought a home warranty thinking it would be good to have since my appliances are older. It says on their website that they will replace or repair your appliance with a small service fee. I was told since my washing machine was 5 years old they could give me $150 towards the repair because the value of the machine wasn’t worth more than that which would only cover a small portion of the repair! What?! What kind of warranty will pay to repair only for what your appliance is worth?! That’s not even a warranty!! I called to explain how I was not satisfied with this service and the first guy hung up on me! So I called back and cancelled.

When Sears could no longer provide the level of coverage we wanted, we had to find a company to replace them. After doing our research we selected, “Select Home Warranty” to be our home warranty provider. Our communication with Select Home Warranty introduced us to Zachary **, our service consultant. After talking with Zachary, we knew we made the right decision. To help us identify the best plan for our needs, he pointed out, in detail, the advantages of each plan offered. After answering all out questions, he recommended the best plan for our needs and fully explained his reason why. We found him to be one of the most professional and friendly sales consultants we have talked with. I purchased this warranty in March 2019. Our hot water heater went out and I filed a claim. They ask what was wrong and I said water is pouring out of the bottom of the hot water heater. They automatically denied it stating it was a leak which is not covered. Did not even send a technician out which I would’ve gladly paid the service fee. Called a plumber and in the entire hot water heater on the inside had ruptured. That should’ve been covered As the water heater was only 3 yrs old. That water heater was covered under warranty but the labor to replace it was not which cost us over $1000. I would never ever recommend this company. All they want to do is argue with you, not even send a technician out to see what the problem is and automatically deny coverage. I asked for a refund of which to date I still have not gotten the check. I’m going to call the attorney general's office in the state of Missouri so just beware.

Select Home Warranty is the absolute worst when it comes to trying to help a customer cover their damaged items. I move in a used home that is 14 yrs old. The water heater goes out the first month. They send a technician that takes 9 days to show up. The technician borrows a lighter from my wife to just light the pilot. They leave. Heater works for 2 days. I call Select again. They are notified by the technician that the unit needs replacement. Select Home Warranty will not cover the replacement due to no maintenance records. How am I to have any maintenance records of a water heater if I just move in 1 months ago!!! They are so quick to let you cancel a policy and fine you 75$ for canceling rather that understand and genuinely help a customer. SELECT HOME WARRANTY IS A JOKE, THEY SCAM YOU OUT OF YOUR MONEY. We were looking for a company that not only handles repairs but also covers replacement costs. We had another policy with another company and found out that they only covered repairs. This is not what we wanted. I started checking home warranty companies and found Select Home Warranty. Select Home warranty covers not only repairs, but if it can't be fixed, they cover replacement costs. I also read the other reviews which all seem to be positive. The representative was also very helpful and answered all our questions. We are looking forward to working with this company in the coming year.

This is the worst home warranty company that has ever existed. On June 9, 2019 we placed a claim to have our refrigerator repaired. It is now July 18, 2019! I have spoken with their "call center", who claim to be in New Jersey. I honestly doubt it! I do not think they understand the English language well. Understand that I have been on the phone with these customer service reps many many times. One customer service representative told my technician that I hired my own technician. I ABSOLUTELY NEVER SAID THAT! I was waiting on the technician and called the technician. The technician told me about the phone call. He also said that he has problems with Select Home Warranty. The part is back on order again. So my family gets to wait to have a working refrigerator.
I have had to rent a refrigerator. I paid on 6/15/19 and now it is time to pay again. Still no refrigerator. They refuse to reimburse me for my rental, even though this is their mistake. Every time I call, I can never get a supervisor. At every call, they state, "Oh I see you hired your own technician." I honestly do not understand what they are doing. I just want a refrigerator that works. I will never use this company and I will tell all my real estate friends about my issue. I will only be happy at this point with a working refrigerator, reimbursement for 2 months rental of a refrigerator, reimbursement of my service call fee, and reimbursement of the last six months of monthly fees for their lack of service. I have now wasted hours on the phone with these people. Time is money.

I contacted their sales person and he convinced me this is the best value for the money and he lied about some items: I told him my appliances are OLD, would they get repaired or replaced? He said: "Yes, not a penny out of your pocket!" So I bought the policy for 3 years. When I called them to repair a microwave over the oven unit they said they'll just give me $125 and I can go take care of it myself (since it's an old unit). Their sales people definitely lie to push the sale, please read the contract carefully before you give them any money. I've had good experiences with other companies and the only reason I came to these guys was they quoted cheaper with lower deductible costs, now I know why. I definitely do not recommend this home warranty.

I was to submit paperwork before completed repairs would be approved. I submitted immediately and after 6 days I had to call on it. When they went in to investigate they kept asking for a paid invoice in order to approve repay but they never approved the charges so the work has not been complete. I have spent more than 2 hours on the phone with them about this issue. It's been infuriating. Every time I call them I get some runaround and I have to call back at least twice on every claim I have submitted. They have not once replied to me in the allotted time they said they would.

My A/C repair claim was denied because I didn't explain myself clearly during my brief "fact finding" call. Emailed the rep I signed up with but got no response. Called to cancel 3 days after my policy effective date and was told there was a $75 fee. Not mentioned during my sales pitch of that. I had to beg to have my case reviewed to waive the cancellation fee or have my claim review because of elder people staying with me in 100 degree weather. Nobody would waiver. On top of it all I was informed my refund would be in check form within 30 days and not refunded back to the card I used to pay. Nowhere in the policy or during the sales pitch was that mentioned. So no matter what I do I don't have the money to repair the A/C for my elderly house guests.

This is my first claim with Select after not having a good experience with my past home warranty, so I am very hopeful for a positive experience from this company. I called on 7/16/19 to get a quote. Customer service representative (CSR) was very pushy trying to sell me something. Under pressure, I purchased a 3-year-policy for my home. Reading the policy, I discovered some exclusions and vague language. I called back within an hour to get more explanation and to add freon to the AC service, if needed. After reading more reviews over the internet, I realized I made the wrong choice. The contract/policy is clear that I have 30 days to make up my mind. In addition, I heard that from the CSR same thing over and over to push me to buy the policy.
I called back on 7/17/19 to cancel the policy. The CSR was very rude shouting and screaming at me over the phone. He told me that someone will call me back in 10 minutes. I got a call right away from another CSR and when I asked to cancel the policy, he started to be rude, shouting and screaming at me. Also, he told me that there will be a $75 cancellation fee because I added a new service the day before!! This is totally a scam and misrepresentation. This is not acceptable to do this to customers and this company should not stay in business any more day. I have disputed the credit card charge since they refuse to refund me totally.

Mostly good experience. Good coverage for the annual fee plus the discounts that were offered ($150 discount plus an additional 2 months coverage). On-Line agent was knowledgeable about the different options. Cost of program selected fit our budget. We have had other home warranty services in the past that have worked well. Will hold off recommending this program to others until after we have used the offered services for the first time. Quick and easy to get the program started and wasn't pushed for signing up on the phone. Con - Secondary options were offered after agreeing to the 1st year program (5-year program, 10-year program, etc). Then was offered the same for a 3 1/2 year program). All of these were much more expensive upfront to the one year program.

We took out a Platinum Care insurance policy in February, 2019 and were told that this company would "repair or replace our covered appliances regardless of age". It cost us approximately $500. We had the HVAC system serviced in May, per the provisions of the policy. When system failed, I called and SHW initially assigned a repair company that didn't do service calls in Arlington. After two additional days, another technician was assigned and he concluded the blower for my Luxaire furnace needed to be replaced, but due to the age of the furnace (12 years) and the fact Luxaire is no longer manufactured he had difficulty locating the part, but found a refabricated one for approximately $1200 with shipping/handling. Technician sent his report to SHW and I was requested to send photos and maintenance/repair records including the service report done in May.
After all that effort, I was then informed that according to provision 9.1.2 of the policy, I was only eligible for $150, due to not having service records for three years prior on the furnace. SHW salespeople do not tell you that when you buy a policy, they simply tell you your older appliances will be covered. This is a deceptive business practice! Provision 9.1.2 of the contract basically limits SHW exposure to that amount for any older appliance repair--that amount doesn't even cover the cost of a service call in a high cost of living area. Provision 10 states that after three month of coverage, SHW will pay only a maximum allowance of $2,000, which the salespeople also do not tell you! If your older HVAC system can't be fixed, you certainly can't get it replaced for $2,000--deceptive advertising when the company says "repair or replace."
Essentially, I paid $500 for a useless insurance policy that limits SHW exposure to $150 for each claim on older appliances if you don't have maintenance records for last three years. Consumers should be told that upfront at the time of sale, not when you review your policy and file a claim. I am very dissatisfied with this company, their claims process, and their deceptive practices.

The gentleman that helped me was very nice and never seemed annoyed by my many questions. The coverage and pricing is much better the the current Home warranty company I was with. Your company offered much more as far as coverage options and that was extremely beneficial. I have a salt water pool, and two AC units. I wanted to make sure that the number one problem with AC units, the Freon, would be covered in my policy. I also wanted to make sure that the salt generator would be covered on my pool policy. Freon leak. He came out and checked the unit then called to see if is covered then explained the options to check the leak on a unit that old. He explained the process how he would have to remove all the old Freon before checking the leak then if the leak is fixed by soldering it could affect and weaken the other joints. The best option is to replace the unit that there was no guarantee if the unit was to be repaired.

I have a home warranty with this company. My air conditioning unit stopped working so I initiated a claim. The technician (Watkins Heating and Cooling) diagnosed a failing compressor due to age of the system (system was installed April 2006). I call the authorizations department at Select Home Warranty and during the call, the technician attested to the fact that the unit was well maintained but just old. I paid the technician $1,118.33 out of pocket. Select Home Warranty now refuses to reimburse me for the claim, arguing that I do not have service records. I have performed all necessary cleaning and filter replacements on my own. There is no indication of neglect on the unit. It is failing due to age (13+ years old). Phone calls with Customer Service and Escalation units are like talking to a brick wall. I challenged them on the contract specifics and they weaseled their way out. Already reported to the BBB. I'm filing suit in the morning.

This company has been nothing but a headache. They find every excuse to not pay to fix it. They take forever to get a technician to the home. We live in Florida. Our AC went out. It’s 104 degrees. It’s been 24 since a filed a claim and nothing. Horrible customer service. We had another claim about a month ago with a different unit. It cost me $75 for the service call then $668 to fix it and they said they would only pay $150. It’s been over a month and still haven’t received the payment. Their excuse was we didn’t have maintenance records. We just bought the house and the previous owner moved to Europe so couldn’t get any records from her, but I feel they just find every excuse in the book to not cover the claim.

After 5 years with another home warranty service and much research we have decided to move over to your company. I was impressed with the coverages and the price. The person that I spoke to was very helpful and courteous. Our rates with our old company went up over 300.00 a year since 5 years ago and they added coverages we didn't need without our permission. I was lucky enough to speak to a very nice gentleman named Sol. He was so thorough and so willing to give me the best service possible. Because of him, I now have a home warranty that I can afford on a fixed income. He took the time to find out what I was needing and finding available discounts, that helped me tremendously. Select Home Warranty Company. Talked to Chase ** and he locked me in on a great 3 year rate. They have full coverage including roof leak repair. They cover weekends and holidays. Chase was professional and courteous with no pressure to buy. He should be recognized for going above and beyond in providing a great customer experience. I did have a contract with American Home Shield but they did not provide good service. I would not recommend AHS to anyone.

My service representative was so very helpful in determining the coverage that was best for us. I’m very thankful for the multi year discounts and those offered for military. The value for the coverage offered is incredible. The fact that the policy is refundable and transferable sealed the deal. No more worries about broken AC, refrigerator, dishwasher or plumbing!. Great price and Great coverage! Had American Home Shield, Water heater died, Their contractor couldn’t come out for three days! Three days without a water heater is unacceptable. We have heard great things about Select Home Warranty. We have not used it yet but it feels good to have this insurance in hand. Buying a home with older appliances and with original age furnace and Hot Water Heater, it is a good idea to have extra coverage for unforeseen expenses. To start, when I called to get my air conditioner fixed, I waited a week only to find out that their one and only technician hasn't worked with them in years. Should have been my first red flag. The guy said they take too long to pay out and want him to work at a much lower than competitive rate. So I had to get my own contractor. The contractor said the unit needed to be replaced. SHW said they would replace the unit. So I got a quote. SHW asked for service records on the old unit. I've only been here a year so I sent them the 1 I had when I moved in. Buried in the fine print, you need 3 years worth of records on anything or they only pay $150. I have tried cancelling twice now, still haven't gotten my money back. Each time they try to "fix" the problem by suggesting I simply get records from the previous owner. (The previous owner has changed their number since moving.) Now they are saying there is a $75 cancellation fee.

Fred ** answered all of my questions and gave me all of the information I needed to make my decision. He explained to me that I could use a local contractor instead of someone out of town, which is better for me due to the fact that I know quite a few contractors in my area and would trust them more so than someone from out of town. He was more helpful than anyone I had spoken with so far, and seemed more knowledgeable than anyone I had spoken to from other companies.

Phone attendant was polite and helpful, greater stars could be earned if repairs actually got attended to. Phone attendant informed me that while claim was filed in early months that claim was canceled after 30 days. If they didn't pay why did they cancel claim? This is company issue not phone attendant issue. I have now refiled claim as of 2 days ago and am waiting for there to be a Complete follow up and resolution of problem.

Ben ** was my representative and he did a great job. From the first phone call he was patient in helping and explaining the services Select offered. Very informative, helpful and follow up was awesome. I've been with another home warranty company for over 10 years and called them recently and had some concerns and the customer service was terrible. When I asked to speak with a Supervisor I was put on hold twice and neither person was a Supervisor when they came on the line. I felt like if they couldn't be honest about a simple request what else were they lying about. It's been almost two months I have been going back and forth with Select Home Warranty. My issue was small with my toilet flush tank broken. It took 2 weeks for them to send a plumber and then they took another 2 weeks to come with the replacement item. Instead of just a flush tank the JED plumbing guys brought the entire toilet set and they removed the toilet bowl. On that process the flange was broken and JED plumbing needs approval to replace that from Select Home Warranty. Again we had to wait for more than 2 weeks to hear from them. And after multiple call, came to hear from Select Home Warranty that Flange is not covered under their policy.
We tried to make it clear that we had no trouble at all with the toilet bowl till now and this was broken during the process of removal. But they just stick on to the fact that they won't cover for flange and I will have to pay additional $270 for the same. Now the case is that they won't fit it back as it used to work earlier. We are still in the battle and sadly we don't have a toilet for our kids' bedroom for more than 2 months now. Poor little ones have to walk to our room if they wish to go to the toilet. I am totally frustrated with this Select Home Warranty.

This brought the cost and service call price down to an extremely reasonable rate. I have been considering a policy for several months and finally had time to actually take a look at what your offerings were. What made me decide to go with the five year plan was not only the promotional offering at this time but it was the overall cost became extremely affordable.

On July 11, 2019 my AC went out and I made contact with the claims department. I was issued a claim number and was told that a company would contact with me within 12-24 hours. I did receive a referral to FL Cooling but this company never made contact with me so I contacted them and the office personnel informed me they don't work for Select Home Warranty because they have problems with getting paid. They would not accept the referral. I again made contact with the claims department and was told they would initiate another claim which would result in me having to wait another 12-24 hours. Since then I have received several emails stating they are still working on finding me a contractor that will accept my claim. Although the claims department personnel are very courteous but this does not mitigate the issues I have experienced with this company.
I explained to the claims department that I am a senior citizen and that the cooling system is more than a need. The claims department voiced understanding but this still does not help with getting someone to work on my unit. When I initially signed up for the policy I spoke with Jonathan **. He gave me his extension ** number and assured that if I had any issues with my claims I could ask for him but when I have attempted to make contact with him he not available. I have since contracted with a company to install a new AC unit and have notified Select Home Warranty that I already have a unit that was installed on 7/13/19. Needless to say that I am very disappointed with this company and plan to ask for termination of my contract with them.

This company is FRAUD! Stay away from it. All the positive reviews are fake. Google: How do you allow this? This is how they work: 1. Sales guy will lie. 2. After sign up, when you have an issue, here's what they do: 1. They'll push you to use your own contractor saying they don't have availability. 2. When you use your own contractor, you'll need to get approval for work - this is not possible since if the contractor will not wait for 24 hours for approval. 3. if you get approval it'll be verbal and they claim they never gave approval. 4. If you pass this stage - by now you have been on phone for many hours - and get the work done, they'll ask for documentation like 'diagnosis document'. if you have one, they'll find loopholes in it.
5. They they'll offer you 1/3 what you paid for "settlement" and make you believe that they are doing you a favor. By now you have spent 10 hours with them. You'll take anything. 6. You'll want to cancel at this point. they'll charge $75 + prorated + any claims in the past. basically at this point you are left with nothing of you had any claims. 7. I am yet to see my claim check or prorated cancellation check which does not show up until 30 days. 8. If anyone wants to join hand to file a fraud case against them... I am in.

I submitted a claim to repair a garage door opener, which is covered under the contract. I received an email back stating that my garage DOOR was broken and was not covered. I understand the door is not covered, but the opener IS! My claim was for the opener. It should not have been denied. I was then told that my claim would be reviewed by a higher department, but was not told how long that would take.

I reviewed a lot of different home warranty companies and Select Home Warranty had the best value for my money. I was also pleased to receive roof leak coverage with my policy. Navigating the site was fairly easy. I do, however, wish I could review the costs of the different packages without having to submit my contact information first. A/C blower not working and coils are freezing up. Asked all the right questions regarding the make model serial numbers to make sure she had all the right information about the unit and the problems I was experiencing. SWH solicited contractor. Randy's Plumbing did the repair. Called ahead before arrival. Friendly and competent service. He asked about my sister who he had met from a prior service call. The company did a good job when they were here before. Master bathroom sinks were not working. One sink drain leaked underneath vanity cabinet. Other sink was stopped up. They were able to fix both. Company cleaned up when done. Appreciate SHW using quality contractors.

The worst customer care experience I have ever experienced! A fraudulent company! Took my money, sent the contract days after I paid and after my personal follow up. Did not approve any claims I made! When they try to get your business, they make you feel you are well covered, but when you actually need them, they find a term in the contract that excludes you from the coverage. With the way the contract is written, they can justify any claim denials! And if they fix anything, the cost would cheaper if you do it yourself rather than buying their policy! We purchased the plan based on the salesman Alan ** stating it would come with roof leak coverage. We told him and the company that it had a shake roof and had been repaired prior to purchase. They have said the contract doesn't cover shingle roofs. Only flat roofs. Then why did you bait and switch us into this useless contract? We waited 6 1/2 weeks on them to send out a repairman and they never did. They kept insisting we get our own so we did against better judgement. We submitted his findings and they immediately denied it. We then said, "Send out your own people and fix it," they said no!! So we asked them to fix it or give us a full refund and instead the customer service cancelled our contract. We did not authorize this but they did it any way. So I had to call in about that as well. 12 1/2 hours on the phone with these people. Buyer beware. Not good people. Definitely not a Christian company.

We purchased the warranty several months ago and the first time that we tried to use it, we received no help whatsoever. We called in the claim for a leaking washing machine. A week later we still had a broken machine and no one had even called to make an appt to fix. My husband had called every other day to get some action, but all talk. Then when we called to cancel the remaining warranty they kept trying to talk us out of it and never cancelled it!

Incompetent, inefficient and inept crooks, period! INEFFICIENT. Case in point: I submit claims for covered items, they select the contractor(s), I schedule the service calls and take a day off during a weekday to accommodate the work. Tech arrives, but before they can perform the repair, he/she must send SHW a diagnosis, which then has to be reviewed and approved...a process that takes 24 hours. So, not only must I schedule another appointment for the tech, I have to take off another day of work to have a covered item repaired, AND pay another service fee!!!
INCOMPETENT/INEPT. While on the phone with a representative, I ask..."what is the name of the contractor firm, and when should I expect to hear from them?" After a 30-second silent pause, the rep says..."thank you for your call, is there anything else I can help you with?" I tell her that I'd like an answer to my question, which I repeat. After another 30- second silent pause, the rep ignores answering my question and asks if there's anything else she can help with. This cycle of madness happened a third time, after which I hung up in disgust.
CROOKS. I called to submit a claim, however this time I was surprised to learn that the items were not included with my current coverage, and that it'd cost an additional $47 for the year. No problem, so I added the optional coverage, paid the up-charge fee, submitted the claim and scheduled to have the work performed. Tech arrives, but is told by SHW that the item isn't covered, and can't perform the work. So, I paid the up-charge fee for the optional coverage and they refuse to authorize the work. For the sake of sanity, AVOID this company... JUST SAY NO!!!

I switched over to Select Home Warranty in March of 2019 because they were cheaper. This was a big mistake. I had my first claim the beginning of May 2019 due to my water heater going out. It took them 48 hours to dispatch a technician. Their technician finally showed up several days later, was very rude. All he cared about was getting that service fee check. He said he'd call in the diagnosis next day, but never did. He sure did cash my check though. After several days of not hearing anything, I called SHW, their tech never called in a diagnosis, and they could never reach him by phone either. After a week of no hot water, taking cold showers and not being able to wash dishes, I had to find my own technician. SHW just kept saying give it 24-48 more hours. Having no hot water is not acceptable living conditions. They did not try to help us in any way to accommodate us for their technician running off with my money.
I had to pay a different tech more money to fix the problem. SHW had me submit proof of all payments and had me accept a reimbursement form for payment back, which is not the amount I paid over with the second tech. By this time, I was so fed up with the runaround, I just accepted the smaller amount due to agents not following up or calling back as promised or helping, etc. Shortly after accepting the reimbursement, I was told by one of their agents I could cancel my policy because I couldn't afford to pay another month after having to pay a second technician. They said I would still receive my reimbursement check. After 30 business days, I still never received my reimbursement check. I had to call back in for the umpteenth time and was told because I cancelled my policy, even though after the fact of paying them, the policy being active during the time of claim and reimbursement agreement, I would not receive my reimbursement check.
Each time I have called, I get different answers, different reasons, etc. I could never get a straight answer out of anyone. I explained I did not cancel until after everything took place. My account was active during the entire claim and even after accepting the reimbursement. All they had to do was send my check as promised by several agents. I did not cancel until after everything was done. They have my address and could just mail my check, but are refusing. Please beware of this company. They are very unprofessional. They do not try to help you. They have very shady technicians. You will get a different answer every time you call in. English is not their first language either. Please learn from my experience...CHEAPER IS NOT ALWAYS BETTER!!!

Do not purchase, every call is either not actually covered, or they put in your claim "for review" and you don't get an answer for 48 hours if you do. I have twins, and water heater went out, no help, then my refrigerator went warm, again, no help. All you get is an email, which was an unlicensed, unregistered person with no website (so a stranger with no credentials) was offered. The times were 3 days out, so my babies were suppose to have no milk for three days. I could go on, just please don't believe their ratings, they are horrible. Zero help.

Wanted to say that we just purchased a "Select Home Warranty Contract". We did so for peace of mind know that our appliances and plumbing is covered in case of failures. We choose the 3 year option locking in the rate and service call fee. Our appliances are fairly new and in good working order, but knowing we are covered in case of an incident is good to know. I will be sharing my experience with family members and friends and will be sure to advise others to purchase a contract as well. You never know when an appliance is going to fail. I have heard stories about failed A/C systems and the amount it cost for repairs. I'd rather be safe and spend a little money now than a lot of money later. If you're a home owner I'd encourage you to give Select a call to discuss what they have available to suit your needs.

Do not waste your money with this company. The salesman are typical salesman and will tell you whatever is needed to but their contract. I filed my first claim after 3 months of having contract. HVAC circuit board is bad. They will only cover $150.00 while referring to the annual maintenance cleaning verbiage in section 9.1.2. There is no maintenance or cleaning required for this circuit board.

I was in the process of comparing home warranty companies. I barely entered my information and received a call from Chase **. The prices are unbeatable for the same services. The customer service of my last vendor, Fidelity National, was poor. I received the warranty as a gift from my realtor when I purchased my first home. I renewed once last year and sure am glad I did not renew this year. From the reviews, it looks like Select might be better.

The customer service was great. I would have given 5 stars, but it seems my claim was forgotten for a while so I had to call back and request a status update. The customer service agent escalated my claim and that resolved the issue. I'm overall very happy that I purchased my home warranty. My first home repair (after living in my house for a month) would have cost more than my first year's coverage, so I'm already in the green.

Everything was great as discussed over the phone so far. I have not needed to use the services yet but from the contract everything looks good. I would recommend to a friend. I look forward to using your services when needed. The contract is better than my previous contract with another company. The cost per mo. is cheaper and the service call fee is a lot cheaper. I was told my monthly rate will never increase which is the main reason why I have selected your company and canceled with my previous company.

I ended up buying your home warranty today, all because of Chase **, and his excellent advice, and willingness to help to negotiate the price. Currently, but ending soon I do have a home warranty which I have been wanting to replace. Due to their customer service. I received information from another company wanting me to go with them, however Mr. ** had them both beat. You are very lucky to have this kind of person working for you. It's hard to trust people over the internet with your information but it all seems legitimate. I feel I will get a great experience from this company.

I’m happy that I found a policy that would take care of everything in my house. I still haven’t used it but I cannot wait. I just like having a peace of mind and knowing that they are available 24hrs year Round. I like knowing that they will come and do more than one job at a time. Still haven’t made a claim but knowing that they take care of everything is one less thing I have to worry about. I’m also happy that they are available any time of the year. Being a single mom with kids makes life easier.

Chase was a GREAT salesperson! He gave me time to review my finances to ensure that I would be able to start the service that day. He called back at the time he indicated he would. He was willing to work with us to obtain the best value to fit our budget and extended a discount for service as a Veteran. The person that I contacted in regard to the claims was Thoreau and worked quickly to get the information that was needed in order to get a contractor. I'm still waiting to get an email in regards to the contractor but the process was quick and easy no problems. I hope the contractor is able to come out in a timely manner. That's the only thing that I'm a little worried about. I understood the person just fine over the phone and again he worked very quickly to get my information that was needed.

The person that assisted me with my warranty order was excellent. I was happy with his knowledge and assistance and I am happy with the value of the warranty so far. It is less expensive than my previous home warranty and the coverage appears to be about the same. I am hoping for better service providers than my last home warranty company. They seemed to send technicians from companies that had very poor Yelp reviews and most of the time the work they did reflected those reviews.

Dear Sir, Please assist me in getting my dishwasher issue resolved. I have made two calls over a week apart, my claim has been pending for weeks. I'm told they can't reach the technician that came out to my house to get what parts are needed for the repair. Now I need to hire my own technician and I will get reimbursed by my warranty company. This isn't a suitable option for me. I don't have the extra money for this. That's why a purchased a home warranty policy so I could avoid this type of situation. Please respond!!

I explained to the service man that my AC would not turn on. He said he would file a work order for me, and asked me to check my email often for an email from "Select Home Warranty" indicating what would be done next. He gave me a maximum of 48 hours to receive an email, to which I felt should be reduced to 24 hours or even less. The service man was impressively cordial.

I had almost decided not to get the best plan, but the representative answered my questions about my concerns. I am expecting great service & no problems should I ever have to submit a claim. In fact, I may add 2 more houses and get a discount for them. My concern was about the company receiving some negative reviews, but the rep explained some clients don't read the contract thoroughly and realize the contract is active after 30 days.

Called about back of my house not getting cool. Disher Appliance came out. I told him the problem. He said, "It's not the vent. It need freon." So he adds some. The front of the house did get cooler but he didn't go into the attic to check my vents and the back of the house is still not cool and I paid my 60$. I you would send someone else out to recheck my vents. I just don't understand why he didn't go up to check for leaks or anything. Pls help.

When I called the operator made a quick response and assigned the claim No. and promptly send email with details of how to proceed further. So I am now looking forward to get a call from the call Electric to schedule the repair work. After the repair is done I can express my evaluation more in detail. I had Select Home Warranty for about a year and so far no complaints. I plan on renewing my subscription when it expires. I would recommend this company to a friend. So far I had to use them for my heat going out and for my AC going out. Great company to have and the price was really affordable. I was very pleased with Mr. ** assistance today. I called to confirm that my policy had been established as I had some concerns about the reliability of the title company that submitted the check for my new house and I hadn't received my policy documents. Mr. ** was able to confirm my policy started and updated my contact info so that I receive all future correspondence. He also was able to tell me the start date of the 30-day waiting period for my policy before I can submit a claim. He was very helpful and kind.

Easy process. I had to call twice to receive the welcome email. Not sure if I will receive a hard copy via mail as well? Overall good service when I called to inquire about the home warranty. Suggestion: It would be helpful to send a confirmation email once enrollment process is completed online. Once I completed online and provided credit card information I never received a confirmation email stating the process was complete. I did receive a phone call asking about an inquiry online which I had to explain I completed the process already online.

I am very pleased with Select Home Warranty. Our built in microwave went out during the holiday weekend. I had submitted my claim online through the company website and I received a call within the hour from a customer service agent who guided me through the entire process. Following that I was informed of the procedure and approval process. I couldn’t believe that the approval was received the very next day. They have an extremely user friendly claims process. It was an easy, thorough and efficient.

I called in Sunday and my rep was very helpful. The temp in Texas is running close to 100. Hopefully they'll get someone out. Last time this happened it took over a week. We have only purchased. We did a bit of research first and know we will need to use it in next 3 years. There were some high pressure sales tactics however but overall good experience with the purchase. Just do your research before you call. And definitely call vs going online when you are ready to purchase. We figure the AC and water heater will go out on the next 3 years. We are hoping the claims process is smooth as well.

The agent was great, and he gives details on the insurance plan, what covers and what not, and ways to save customers money. He is very experienced and Select is a great company to work with. The copayment is reasonable. They have 5 years plan which actually covers 6 years, and you get another 100 dollars off. They also have free roof leaf pick up plan which I like a lot. They also cover roof leakage and much more for a reasonable price.

The employee assured me that the quote would be in the welcome email within minutes and it was. I compared Select with three other home warranties and decided that Select fit my needs best. I had some trouble understanding the agent on the phone. I also have not been contacted yet despite calling in on Friday morning and my A/C has been out since the middle of last week mid-summer. I realize that this is a holiday weekend, but a little sense of urgency would be appreciated. I have tried following up with the HVAC company twice now. There was no response on my first call. The second call was answered, but no schedule was provided. I was told that I was on the schedule for today and someone would call me on their way to the house. This was not how I was lead to believe the process would work.

I received an email that my policy was up for renewal and I noticed that my payment was going WAY up so I called in and spoke with Jonathan. I called because my unit is pouring water into the drip pan. When I reached an operator they said that it's not covered because of condensation or a blockage. I asked if I call a technician to come out and it's deemed not the issue and is actually covered by the warranty will they reimburse me. They said NO! Because I called them on my own. But, they refuse to send a tech. SCAM!!! I pray I don't find out its something that's covered.

William is the young man that assisted me in purchasing my contract. I found William to be very knowledgeable about Select and extremely courteous and willing to answer all my questions. He took his time while answering my questions and made several recommendations. William recommended the three year plan that really turned out to be 42 months at a reduced price that is supposed to be locked in for life. The lifetime monthly rate is $26.78 with a fixed lifetime service call rate of $45.00.

Daniel was great representative. The platinum care that I purchase coverage several listing below. I shopped around for several weeks before deciding on Select Home Warranty. There's huge variety in the warranty industry, always better to see what's out there. They were able to offer roof leak coverage and the best service visit fee in the industry. We feel that we have had many claims and home expenses that are not covered at all. For a “premium” status homeowner, we were shocked at how little is covered. The description of coverage is very deceiving and have had to pay out of pocket for plumbing, AC and dishwasher breakages. Our microwave started getting weaker in heating up food. It also started peeling inside. It's only 9 years old and we keep it well cleaned and have never abused it. We called Select and they got back to us within a few hours with information that someone would be in touch in a day or 2. We received an email from Select in 2 days and they explained what our choices were to resolve our problem. I like the fact that we were given choices than rather only one choice. You did a great job in procuring a contractor. Unfortunately it was 4th of July weekend and I don't think he was working or at least pool repair wasn't a priority. He couldn't come for 3 days and we wanted to use the pool so I got some extra time and just fixed it myself. I've used SHW before and had good results so I have to assume that it was bad timing or pools are low priority.

This was our first time contacting Select Home Warranty for any repairs. Our downstairs air unit isn't blowing cold air. Noticed issue on Friday but due to work schedules, couldn't contact warranty company. Customer rep was super friendly and patient while waiting on me to get the needed information. The sales and account representatives were fair, honest, and patient with me as I was looking into the benefits and services their company offered. The benefits offered seemed to have good value in protecting my property and/or preparing for when things go wrong. I am happy I made the decision to work with this company. This company seems to offer better coverage than many of its peers. One of my primary concerns was septic coverage, which I have with this company. It was super easy to sign up for SHW. I got my subscription emailed to me right after I signed up. So far the only thing I do not like is that I don't have a direct account, meaning if I wanted to edit my account I have to wait to get a email from SHW. After reading my subscription it seems very simple to make a claim. They cover everything inside and out of my home. I'm glad I chose SHW so far.

CSR was vague and evasive of giving me a straight answer in regards to verifying if it was documented. I had free first call and roof leak coverage. I have a two year old new roof, but would want to know I have the perks promised. I had to really persist for Him to tell me I would need to call Customer Service. I felt like the person I was speaking to did not understand the product or the English language.
