Our air conditioner went out at 4 AM Monday. We called and were told that it would be at least 24 to 48 hrs for SHW to locate someone in our area. As of 10AM Tuesday they are still looking. I cancelled the order and cancelled my contract. Taking 24 to 48 hours for an air conditioner in 92 degree weather is not working for me. We were not told this at time of signing up. We are in our 70's and heart patients.

Account renewal. Johnathan was happy to help and efficient. All of my questions were answered to my satisfaction. He even helped me to determine my current package was actually the better bargain before I started to remove any of my coverages. This representative even went as far as to offer the option to upgrade to three years of coverage, paying the fees in two to three months since the total wasn't all available to me at the moment. And, because their people offer so many options and are willing to assist me in any way, this is is my choice company for home repair coverage. Very satisfied customer.

Although the initial request was easy and Aqua Fresh came the following day to resolve the issue after I called, once the plumber got here, it was quite difficult to get the approval to get the work done. Upon initial evaluation, the technician requested an additional $150 beyond the copay for work that had not been done. They were requesting $150 additional for parts and labor for the pipe under the sink, but the only work to be done was to snake the clog. In our contract it states work 100 feet from the source is covered and Select even read the contract over the phone, but they insisted it would be an additional $150 beyond 20 feet. Really disappointed in this experience as the work took at least twice as long to complete, we had to be on the phone with Select and the technician had to be on the phone twice with insurance for approval. We have not experienced this inconvenience with other companies and we will not be renewing our contract.

Heater. You guys are doing fine, I am having a hard time finding someone to come because everyone lives at least 50 miles away. But I think I have found someone. Have tried to contact but line waiting. Will keep trying. Thanks for patience. This same guy can fix furnace and dishwasher. No work has been done at this time. The outfit you lined me up with Lanmark Heating says 95$ per hr. plus travel.

I would never ever recommend. Was up for renewal in 1 month. Ask not to renew. Have spent 3 hrs of my day on this. First assigned claim number only got worse. Then got email saying cancelled immediately when I ask not to renew. They're horrible and so is this service. My husband called. They hung up on him. Never go thru this service.... If this is not posted, you dont want truth out.

I would never recommend Select Home Warranty to anyone who buys their policy thinking they would help if we need help with the protected items. Worst technical service. Total waste of money and above all time. They would find out a reason to avoid covering the repairs.

I called to cancel my warranty on the 29th of September and it was not documented until the 3rd of October. I was told that because it was not noted until the 3rd of October, I was not due a full refund, even though I had not used their services. Then she told me that because I had done the contract on the 27th of August and didn't call until the 29th of September, I was not due a full refund. I feel the company is deceptive and not upfront about things. What bothered me also was that they took the money out of my account without making me aware of them doing the deduction. If this company is one of the top 10 companies, heaven help us.

I can't tell you how many times this company's customer service department has lied to me over the phone. Do not waste your time with them. I would give them a 0/5 if I could. They will do everything they can to slow down your process, their preferred contractors have the worst ratings and you will have to call back every single day to make sure they are doing what they are saying. Have your attorney reach out to them if you want something done. TERRIBLE.

The representative was responsive and courteous to communicate with and respond by request dispatch to send out a contract to check the repair. I am satisfied with her response and will now await the email assigning the contractor to check the issues with the system. I just got a call from the contractor and he will be out tomorrow to check out the unit. The contractor was responsive to the issues and the repairman will be out tomorrow at noon to do the inspection and work on the unit.

These people will fight tooth and nail to deny your claim. Make sure you can supply 3 years of records of maintenance on your a/c system. I placed a claim two weeks ago about a plumbing problem with a leaking problem. They say the technician did not send a diagnosis. YOU HAVE TO DRIVE YOUR CLAIM! I called the technician and they say they sent the diagnosis already, but will send again. NOW I have to go through this again. DON't waste your money.

This a total scam! We paid a huge amount to cover our home for 3 years - which was over 2 years ago. We've tried to make 3 claims: first was a freezer which they wouldn't cover. The second was a dryer which was repaired incorrectly by their tech the first time-even to the point of being a fire hazard. They told us to hire our own tech, which they said they would reimburse, but after said they would not. Third time was a washer. They couldn't provide their tech in timely fashion and was told to hire our own and they would reimburse above our portion. It turned out to be the mainboard and part no longer available. They allowed us a whopping $175 to purchase a new washer and would not cover any part of the cost of the $80 service call.

Your sales representative was thorough about the options and services inclusive of each service package. I was comfortable with asking questions and his responses were complete so that I could make the best the decision for my circumstances. I especially liked that SHW assign local contractors. I was informed of ways to save without sacrificing coverage. I have recommended SHW to others based on their product offerings. I would expect that their services, if and when needed, will meet satisfy their commitments and my expectations.

The gentleman who answered my call was very thorough in addressing my concerns about finding a new dishwasher repair person. After weeks of not being able to connect with the initial dishwasher repair person, after he received my $45, I called Select Home Warranty. My caller listened to my issue and also tried to reach out to the contractor himself. I am thus far appreciating the services from Select Home Warranty. Thank you, Select Home Warranty.

I requested three different times the in the information to be corrected on the property I was having covered, Policy was issued and information is still incorrect. I ordered this Program back in August and I had to call to request a copy of my policy, to me that is poor customer service. The Coverages explained to me were too vague in the sales process and the Rep kept trying to upsell me after I requested him not to do that.

The Select Home Warranty rep offered me a very good deal. He was prompt and easy to reach by phone. The average yearly price was amazing and it should be a great selling point if I should ever decide to sell. I have been completely satisfied with the experience and have already recommended it to others in my family. If I should ever have a claim and it goes as smoothly as this transaction I will be very pleased with my purchase.

Washer stopped working in rinse cycle. Customer service was helpful. Waiting to receive contractor information to make contact. Received email confirmation within 1-2 hours. Expect to receive contract information within 24-48 hours. Hope to have the opportunity to share my experience after the service call had been completed. This is my first time requesting service from Select Home Warranty. This company was recommended to me by a coworker that expressed great satisfaction with the service provided.

The claim was processed quickly and approved after the tech came out and determined the cause was a faulty fan. The technician that came to assess and complete the repair was knowledgeable and efficient. The oven was functioning but making a loud noise. So, it took a couple of days for the part to be received and the company that did the repairs was accommodating with available times even though I am in a rural area.

I canceled my services with 2 companies before going with Select Home Warranty. I had a very bad experience with American home shield, then Choice Home Warranty. They have the worst customer service ever and the worst contractor to deal with, especially Choice home warranty. I just signed up with Select and Bruce ** was very good at answering all my questions. So far I'm happy with my decision. Very good plans and good discounts.

How do we secure the $150 allowable? We've reported this to BBB. Didn't get any explanation regarding why a claim was LIMITED to $150. Also want to know why you sent us email stating approved but sent repair service email stating claim was *closed* meaning DENIED. Also never received $150 from former claim. Please advise how we process this claim for each. Horrible customer service. Horrible coverage. Value is zero good if you deceive and deny.

I found the associate pleasant and knowledgeable when I talked to him. He talked with me and reviewed the policy with me. I asked for him to send me a copy of the policy as I don’t have a computer and it should arrive in a week or so.

I called to inquire about a warranty for my mother-in-law's home in NJ and was surprised that the sign-up was so easy. The sales agent was very versed in plan options and available discounts. He answered my questions and listened as I confirmed the information he had shared so I could have the peace of mind that I had made the best choice by purchasing my warranty through Select. I received my policy very promptly and was able to review it at my leisure. Based on this purchase and the coverage offered, I will be contacting Select again in the near future for my own home in NC.

Very polite, helpful, unrushed and knowledgeable. No pressure and tried hard to give all questions a full answer. Reviewed all the possibilities open to us and seemed to care about offering the best choice we could make. The time we spent going over all the choices was well spent. My wife and I had no idea as to the number of ways the choice could be modified when it came to options of coverage, length of time to cover and price. Thank You for the good experience we had.

Steven **, he was excellent person helping me and quickly, response to my question and he gave me a good deal... and he answers the phone on time, email and phone calls. I was satisfactory happy and I will recommend to my friends and family. My Quality Engineer stated that the below parts that you are referring to are from six different date codes. He is asking if you could confirm the marking on the parts from each date code.

Make sure you read your policy coverage. We noticed that our fridge had stopped working in Sept, after having bought the house back in May. I discover that not only was that outlet dead, but all the outlets and switches on that same circuit were dead. We called Select to have them send out an electrician, since we got a warranty through them. After about a week, they said we needed to find our own electrician, since they couldn't find one in our area. First bad sign.
We had an electrician come out, and they ended up scratching their heads as well. They decided they'll need to run a new circuit, since they couldn't find the problem with the existing one. We called Select to find out the next step, they said we should have called while the electrician was here, though they never told us that. Second bad sign.
Our electrician estimates between $1000 and $1500 for the new circuit. Good thing we got the warranty... or so I thought. After the electrician called Select, we get an email stating that we're covered for our full cap... $150. That's right. We spent several hundred dollars for a warranty that covers far less than we spent to be covered in the first place. It turns out that the policy says our cap is $150 for the first 90 days. If we had waited a week to report this, we might have been covered for more. I have the fridge running on an extension cord, and hey, who needs working light fixtures in the living room (same circuit)??? Based on this, I honestly can't say that these guys are the worst (no other reference point), but they're not good, in my opinion. Either make sure you shop around, or, if something breaks, find a way to live with it for 3 months!

I have had a good experience with Select Home Warranty from day one. They have been easily accessible both online and on the phone. I continually get email updates anytime I have a problem, and I appreciate their helpful attitudes. In addition, I was able to get a two month extension on my plan, which made it even more worth it. It is great to know that I have the home warranty if anything were to go wrong given that I am at a fixed income and cannot afford any major appliances to go wrong. It is great to know that if anything were to go wrong, Select Home Warranty will be there to help me out.

I got lots of emails and phone calls from your company and others, which were a bit much. Finally ended up with Belinda, who was great - very helpful and informative. I did my homework to check out your reputation, and was pleased with what I read. I am an elderly widow, and the warranty gives me peace of mind. I was also happy to learn if I sell my house that I can transfer the coverage to the buyer. This would be a good selling point, and less expensive than taking the coverage at the time of sale.

Received call from Jeff ** and discussed in detail of plans and discounts available and cancellation policy helped me choose the right policy. Pro-rated refund cancellation during the term and low copay made me buy the 5 year plan which comes with free one year. Transferring ownership in case I decide to sell the house comes handy. Haven't had any service experience yet, but I have read positive reviews, so hope my 5 + 1 year plan works out well.

When I was purchasing my warranty the rep was very helpful and courteous and answered all my questions. The rep also told me of offers that he could let me have. This seems like a good deal. I have not used it yet but I am satisfied with the way things have been handled so far. I am relieved knowing I have a home warranty to help me take care of my home. The Rep was very informative and offered me the best plan for my situation. I liked the reduced rate and two free months coverage as well as including roof leaks in the plan. I will most likely renew the coverage after the first year. This company offers excellent rates and coverage for senior citizens and veterans, of which I am both. I would recommend them to anyone looking for very comprehensive coverage at very competitive rate.

I had a different home warranty company the last few years so I decided to give Select a try. I am glad to find out that I can cancel at any time and am not locked into a contract. I have had Select Home Warranty for a year and a half and this is the first time using. The gentleman I spoke with said I will get an email today telling me who I need to call and schedule the appt. I hope that is true because the email they sent me with the claim # said 48 hours before they contact you. We will see. I will have to let you know after the repair man shows up and actually fixes the dishwasher.

Very happy with the help I received over the phone. Usually, I do not appreciate receiving unexpected sales calls, but I did not feel pressured by the customer service representative and it was more of a conversation vs trying to get a word in over nonstop sales pitch. The enrollment process was very quick and easy and the entire phone call took only 8 minutes. I was very happy to be able to check that off my lists of things to do!

Easy to select program that suited my needs. Customer rep on phone was helpful and worked to make sure coverage was going to meet all my needs. I wanted coverage that included the ice maker and they were able to find that at a reasonable additional price. Feel confident in overall buying experience but proof will be when you have a claim. Called for info on policy and prices and got one of the best quotes and info I needed to make a great decision and also tons of review on Select online, so it was a no brainer. Received email like he said I would and they also have free roof coverage which is a huge plus with home warranty. I would recommend them to other first time buyers or anyone looking for a new company and policy which have affordable prices and different plans to choose from to fit your needs.

Great customer service. The Customer Service Representative answered all my questions and got me set up quick and easy. Great price and coverage that will help when we have any problems. I wish I would have done this sooner because I just had the air conditioner go out and it cost me $4600. It is good to know that I am covered when things like this happens. Don't wait until this happens to you. Hindsight is 20/20 and I wish I had it beforehand. No one thinks that it will happen but it will. Get coverage today with good customer service so far. The Renewal is fast and easy. I just wish a written contract was available. Downloading an Emailed contract and the printing is not the easiest thing to do. Mail a written contract. All my contacts on the phone were very professional. If a written service could be added I would find that very helpful. Please add this service in the future. I think all other components of the renewals service operate quite efficiently.

I was very please with the customer service. The person that I talked to explained the policy well. I had some bad experience with home warranty. I was undecided with this one. It seem like it better I am trying it. I like the options that the company have. I would be glad to tell someone about this home warranty. I was very l happy when I got off the phone. It all began in July for a claim to replace drain pipes and faucet that needed replacing on my kitchen sink. Not even 1 of the 3 plumbers they told me to call would come to my house to do the job, so, with the approval of Select Home Warranty, I contacted a company I had used before. BUYER BEWARE! I was told all I would be responsible for would be my deductible for the repairs.
After finally getting a plumber, and 3 attempts at sending SHW the bill, (as they kept saying they needed a diagnosis that was acceptable by them), I was told to pay the bill, and send them a paid receipt and I would be reimbursed. The bill was $355.00, less my deductible would be $280.00. I was told they would only reimburse me $150.00, not $280.00 because that's the approved amount (no one said anything prior to repair that they would only approve a certain amount - nor was that mentioned as part of the contract). That is not what you are told when purchasing the warranty...it says you will only be responsible for the deductible! So, buyer beware! Trustworthy businesses are few and far between. Too many of them in this day and time are in every way possible trying to rip you off. Lesson learned.

The agent explained everything in detail, he answered my questions - I'm very satisfied. I have, soon to be had - once I cancel my existing policy, a water line insurance policy with American Water Resources that costs me only $18 less than the policy I purchased, but protects me on far less items. As young home owners, a major issue with our home appliances would be very detrimental for us. The agent ran through all the plans - explained difference and added necessary coverage tailored to me. I wish I could have selected to lock in my rate for multiple years without having to pay upfront - I would have made a commitment with a cancellation penalty if given that choice, but oh well...I simply cannot afford to pay 5 years upfront today.

Great customer service. Left no unanswered questions and I will definitely be referring friends and family if they are ever in the market for home insurance. The price was also very competitive which I appreciated as I was looking around at different companies. Mark had the upmost customer service when I dealt with him on the phone which made this process efficient and quick. If I have any more question I know who to call.

Filed claim in the evening and was contacted by Select the next morning and had an appt with contractor the next day. This is my second claim. No status received from my first claim. The contractors seem a little janky. Selects staff are fairly polite. Still in the middle of my second claim and the contractor wants $275 for a test plus $45 service fee. We will see how it turns out. This claim will determine if I use them again.

Set up of initial Home Warranty, We have not actually used the home warranty yet. We just set it up for the purchase of our new home. I will be more than happy to write another review once/if we need to use the warranty service. We recently just filed a claim for our pool pump leaking. I am very pleased that I didn't go back to home warranty coverage because SELECT made me feel as if I was family and that they are here for me. Great price, coverage etc. The rep Chase was very professional and confident, offered great service and price. Offered me a discount for my military service. AC not cooling. Outside professional says it probably should be replaced. This is the unit's second malfunction in last 45 days. The cost of last visit was $233.00 and it has only been a short time and the unit is again in need of repair. The unit is between 12 and 15 years old and is the original model. My contact with Select says a provider will be presented to me in the next 48 hours, which is fine with me.

Not only did he answer all of my questions professionally and with knowledge he also helped me with my renewal process. Abraham made it easy and fast and even though with all of today's technology that is not easy to find. My Air conditioning unit was having issues, so I called to schedule a service tech to come out, and it turned out to be a leak in the unit. The service tech let me know that he’d have to submit his findings to warranty, and that they’d be contacting me with there findings. The following day, I believe, I received a call and we were discussing the issue of the unit, and it turned out that the unit had a Freon leak in it. I wasn’t able to use the warranty as Freon leak repairs are not covered under the policy. I ended up deciding to get the unit replaced, since there were no guarantees sealing it would work, and the unit was pretty old as it looked and was.

On 9/29/2019 I reported that my refrigerator is not working. It was not cooling the food. I called and placed a claim with the company. The following next day at around 3:00 pm I called to obtain some sort of update as to when a technician will be coming out. They stated that they have nothing as of yet. I called 48 hours later and yet the very rude customer service staff stated that they still have no available technician in Chicago. Let's keep in mind that this is the 3rd largest city in the US and yet they do not have anyone. I have lost all my food as of yesterday evening and today 10/2/2019 they stated I will have to continue to wait as there is nothing they can do. The lack of concern to this issue is unbelievable.
As a customer you expect certain issues to be taken with some high priority. If I was calling about my dryer I can understand the lack of urgency, but no refrigerator with 3 kids at home and the youngest being 2 months old is plain wrong. If my monthly bill was not paid on time (which gets pulled out of my account automatically) they would immediately take action and cancel my service. When a request for service takes place they are quick to tell you that its out of their control. The funny part now is that I receive an email from them stating that if I complaint to BBB it will delay my process. This company is not as they say it is.

I called Select Home Warranty today, since I had not received an email confirming my new service I applied for online. The representative I spoke with resolved my issue quickly. He was able to provide the best possible value for the plan I was interested in. I signed up for the annual plan and the representative applied all the discounts I was entitled to. The representative made sure that I received all the information I needed regarding my plan.

This company has held me hostage for 21 days without any help except apology after apology on why my claim is still under review. I have 2 service calls from 2 companies that do not fix refrigerators and I am being asked to bring in another service call by the way at 60.00 each to tell me the same thing the first 2 did which us the compressor is broken. AND THEN LET IT GO UNDER REVIEW AGAIN to tell me they are not going to fix the problem. Manager will not talk to you on the phone and still will not call you back. I am beyond frustrated that I called my own company to fix, but then why did I pay for a warranty company to help me when things go bad. It is a scam to get your money. Frustrate you till you give up and they just keep and collect your money.

Extremely poor service and followups. I had an AC issue during peak summer and the dispatch team could not get Tech to come onsite for almost a week. I finally gave up and got the AC repaired myself (paid $650 but yet to receive my claim, SHW are approving $250). Second occasion is regarding my claim open for Oven repair. The claim was submitted on Sept 5th 2019, the Oven is still not repaired. I have already paid $45 as diagnostics fee to the tech. It's now almost 1 month that the issue is still not fixed. Very poor service.

Due to the fact that they screwed me on my claim, because they didn't cover labor, they only covered parts which I would have come out much better if I would have bought the parts myself, then they screwed me on my refund. I cancelled due to them screwing me. When I got my refund, it was even more short as my calculations were not adding up. Due to the fact that I cancelled because they screwed me, the $140 that they did pay to the plumber for the claim they screwed me, they deducted the $140 from my refund. UNBELIEVABLE!
The ONLY reason they got a one star is because I couldn't get it any lower. I would HIGHLY suggest that NO ONE do business with these people. They take your money, screw you on your claim and then, when you figure out that you can't get your claim covered and actually try to go to a reputable company and get your refund, they screw you again!
Original Review: I filed a claim for a leak under my sink. They sent a guy out, I paid my $60. Was told he was going to turn it in, which I was told was $355 with labor and they were waiting on approval. Two days later, I'm calling trying to find out what is going on. I get told that only $140 was approved because they do not pay for labor, only parts, which would have been a lot less that the $140 and $60 combined. Needless to say, I was eventually charged, on top of the $60, I had additional "labor" to pay for $175. Why do I have a warranty that is breaking me? I called their sales department acting like I was looking into buying a warranty, but ask if labor was covered under their plans and was told yes. That being said, they will tell you all kinds of lies to sell you something, but when you file a claim, you find out none of the labor is covered. You're screwed!

Only call them once in the four months that I had the policy to look at my dishwasher. I made the claim on August 24, 2019 and today is Sept. 27, 2019 and no one has came out to look at it. Every tech that they assign to my claim tell me that they don't do business with them. I have spoken to several supervisors and the matter is still not resolved.
I call today to cancel and they tell me I have two options. 1. Find a tech myself and they will reimbursement me. 2. Cancel the policy and pay a cancelation fee of 75.00 and prorate the other months. Now you would think that because I have been through so much with them that they would gladly cancel. The last supervisor named Jacob to me that they would not cancel my policy unless I pay those fees. Nonsense! If you are not upholding the contract on your end then the contract becomes null and void. Stop ripping people off because as homeowners we depend on warranty companies to protect us not take from us. Never mind that I paid them in full.

I had American Home Shield, I was paying an arm and a leg to have that warranty service. I tried to cancel the service via phone call, after I hung up I assumed I was done with American Home Shield. Two months later I received a phone call that I owed $160 for not confirming the cancelation process. So I called back to fix it and seriously thinking about signing back up, then I was placed on hold for 15 minutes. I am done. My a/c evaporator coil was freezing up so my house wasn't cooling off. Call Select and they sent Dx Solutions out. The guy contacted me and said it needed cleaning. I paid 200 dollars for nothing. That evening I had to call him back because my house was still 80°. He says it could be the evaporator coil. I then proceeded to call two other companies to give me estimate for fixing the problem. They walked up to the pipe outside near the condenser and immediately said I need a coil.
I called Select Home Warranty and the Tulio reassured me that they will reimburse me 109.00 as the technician charged them an additional 109.00. Select sent me the reimbursement form to e-sign which I did but a few weeks after I decided to cancel my service with them and not knowing if I cancel contract I won't get reimbursed, because I cancelled. Select home warranty your company act like you care but you really don't! All you want to do is rob people and give excuses. I pray that no one else has to go through this **.....

Called in to see why air conditioner isn't working. The gentleman taking my request was very professional and courteous even when I had to go outside and get ground level with my air conditioner unit in order to get the model number. I am sure he enjoyed the grunts and groans while I was crawling around and squeezing behind the unit. :) This is my first call for a home warranty call. I know it will be a good one. Team helped me to add additional coverage to my warranty to help get my leak fixed. When I first purchased it wasn’t explain fully with the additional coverage I would need to have my faucet fixed and leak. I thought the normal coverage would cover it. However I am pleased that I only have to pay this coverage for a year. They were quick to transfer me to the next person that needed to help me with this. I was only on the phone for about 15 min which is nice to not have to wait on the phone so long. The last guy I spoke to was very quick and even helped reprocess my claim so I didn’t have to talk to another person or have to go through the process all over again.

Fred ** helped sign me up and get more discounts than I was expecting. This will save me a bunch of money over what I was paying for my previous home warranty provider. I expect this will come in useful over time to avoid unexpected costs associated with appliance and system failure. Their coverage seems to be comparable to the other big names if not exceeding in coverage. I did not find another company that will cover roof leaks.

I need to have my freezer looked at as after the defrost cycle that water accumulates in the bottom of freezer and refreezes. There is a drainage problem and an issue with the ice not crushing. I suggest that you consider collecting the service call fees directly and not have the contractor collect as it appears my first contractor JUD Contracting has collected the fee and has stopped communicating with myself and the staff at Select Home Warranty.

I'm pretty satisfied with Select Home Warranty for my Home Warranty company. They are responsive to claims submitted and most items have been covered. Other than one time, I have received reimbursement checks in a timely fashion. I would like to see more contractor options/choices though. When I filled my pool in, I was able to swap out my pool coverage for sprinkler coverage and had a cost savings. I chose the 5 year plan and have found it to be a great investment for my home.

I inquired as to my current coverage to make sure I had protection on all my essential items in my home. Everyone I spoke to was very helpful and guided me through the process to add additional protection. The coverage and price for 3 additional years was acceptable. The only issue was the non-coverage of the pool heat pump. The language of the coverage includes pool heater, but no pool heat pump. Most pools are heated by heat pumps, so why isn't this item covered? Home a/c units are covered, what's the difference?

I was looking a home warranty company, I went with SELECT because Andrew explained everything in detail and in the end offered the best deal. I ended up getting a multi year plan which provided the most benefits and least cost - a terrific value. The plan also is cancellable after one year with no penalty, They would prorate the amount and reimburse 4/5th of the payment. I have yet to try the service, and have not tried their website but am anxious to do so.

After a somewhat lengthy time on hold, which is not a big issue because I could put the phone on speaker, a customer service rep answered and was extremely pleasant. Since this is my first claim, he explained the process thoroughly. He also explained that more than one item would result in more than one claim and an additional service fee. We have had to replace the commode in our home a few months ago. It had a cracked and broken bowl that leaked and it would not hold water. The plumber was on time. He was very polite. He did a great job explaining what he would do. The plumber was very competent and he did a very good job.! Now it is a few months later and the commode functions well. File a Water Heater claim 9/24/19. Company denied the Claim via email the same day (1 hour later) without performing a physical assessment. I called the number provided and was spoken to rudely by a representative, ask to speak to a supervisor on duty. Initially told that there were no managers/supervisors working after business hour then told that he spoke to a supervisor that told him to tell me that she would tell me the same thing that he told me, how disrespectful, wasn't allowed to express my issues with the supervisor on duty, totally dismissed. I told the representative to immediately cancel my policy, don't renew my policy, don't take anymore monthly payments from my checking account. I will take my money elsewhere. What a rip off!!!

Mackey was nice, professional and patient as I had to file 3 claims and was on the phone with him for around 30 minutes. He explained things and answered my questions courteously. Fred did a good job explaining your product and offering ways to reduce my cost and offered me several non standard options. However, after I made it clear that I didn't want to spend extra money for a 5 year policy, he kept pushing by offering a 3 year policy. When I again said no, he actually asked my why I didn't want to spend the money. Quite frankly, I don't think it's any of Fred's business though I did tell him I had moving expenses I was dealing with. But Fred came very close to talking himself into a "NO!"

We have noticed a loud noise coming from our clothes washer and believe there is something wrong. I put in a claim online on Saturday night and I was contacted first thing Sunday morning to begin the process of possible repair. I was impressed on how fast Select Home Warranty responded to my concern. I then received a call on Monday morning to arrange a day and time for an inspector to come out to my house. We agreed on a day and time and I am looking forward to his appointment this week. My garage door opener needed to be replaced. I was offered 125.00 which will probably not pay for the labor to remove the old unit. Even after explaining that my husband is a double amputee and the garage is the best entryway for him. They will still not replace the unit with a like unit. I can't even cancel their service due to early termination I would owe them money. Never ever use Select Home Warranty, they do not want to cover your appliances. I only got 150.00 toward a new washing machine. It take forever to get the reimbursement checks. I will not renew my contract with them. And will not recommend them to anyone. I have this home warranty for 3 years and by far this is the worst home warranty I have over 20 years. 1st. It takes more than 48 hours to give you a resolution and send a repair person. 2nd. Most of the time they will try as hard as they can to dispute your claim and tell you that "you are welcome to hire your own technician and you can send the receipt and dispute with them" and the new one I got today. I asked to repair a switch that is cover under my contract. But they are so dishonest that instead of sending a repair technician to do the job and pay the technician, SHW decided that my fan (where the switch is) can't be repair and they will pay $45 dollars so I can buy and install it myself. I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND SHW TO ANYONE.

The WORST company EVER! I have been trying to get my stove fixed since May 2019. We are now in Sept. 2019. After 4 failed techs they sent out they now deny my claim. I already paid the service fees of $100.00 per tech and now they offer me $150.00 cash pat out for a $1700.00 stove that is only 8 years old. Do not waste your money because they will not fix anything that cost more than the plan you purchased. After 4 months of waiting I've nothing but the run-around and emails thanking me for my patience and understanding. I have had two issues since I bought the policy. Both of the issues are unresolved thus far. The first one is an issue with my dryer for which they do not want to fix and just offer $ 150.00 if I buy a new dryer. When it was just a replacement of the control panel that was required. The second issue is with respect to my electrical wiring. I'm without power in three rooms for over 3 weeks now and they basically subcontracted me to a company called Star Quality Air who showed up after several days of delay and insisted I pay the deductible of $ 75.00 in cash which I did. They have since disappeared promising me to send the diagnosis to Select Home Warranty.
I have made several calls to Select Home Warranty and spent hours on the telephone and they say it is between me and the third party company. Seriously after paying my share of the deductible and staying without power still! Now they say they can call another technician but I will have to pay another deductible of $ 75.00. I asked them why? My deductible is for ONE claim and I have unresolved issues. This company is unprofessional when it comes to paying or getting your issues. PLEASE STAY AWAY. This is a scam.

I'm getting a better deal with them than the company we've been with for 7 years. That company has raised our rates almost every year. Hopefully, this will not happen here. My washing machine is not completing its cycle. When it gets to the spin cycle it does not drain the water. The water remains in the basin. I have tried on three separate occasions trying to get somebody to call me to address this problem. It has been a week actually over a week and I still have no operating washing machine. I have never had this problem in the past. My appliances have always been fixed in an appropriate time and I am very surprised that this has happened.

Daniel could not have been nicer on the phone and broke everything down for me and I never felt pressured to go for a higher plan. If submitting claims is as easy as talking to their sales staff then I think this will be a very easy company to work with, not to mention they let you choose your own contractors; that was very important for me. The 5 year deal was an absolutely exceptional deal and I would suggest everyone take a look at that. Loved that fact they give a military discount as well. I felt very valued as a customer to Daniel and was more than pleasant to work with. I would highly recommend them to anybody!!

The online chat person{Tracey} was also fast to get back with and done so while I was still talking to Mr. **. The price seemed fair and the coverage I opted covered everything I thought could go wrong{even had septic tank/line coverage} and that was great because I have a septic system.

Great customer service. The staff was friendly and the service was excellent. The person I talked with knew exactly what she was doing and was able to get me a work order. I have not had my appointment yet for my AC service. The website was easy to use to start the claim but initially I had to call customer service to get the claim started and I did submit the service request again because I didn’t get an email when I submitted the first request.

I called SHW about my dishwasher. My dishwasher originally cost 600.00. SHW sent out a company called TMT to perform the repair. The technician diagnosed the problem pump, heater and wand. Then for some reason TMT fired him. We called the TMT asking why it was taking two weeks to get back to us. They said that they fired the technician. Then we waited another week. I called back and they said they had the parts and were ready to come and finish the job. Well a young boy showed up without all the parts.
My wife had to find and play a YouTube video so the guy could replace the wand in the dishwasher. Then tried to get us to sign off on the job saying the repair was finished. So then when we called TMT back she said she was not aware of the parts list because the technician that they fired never turned in the parts list. This went on for 2 months. After that I cancelled TMT and SHW let me know that I was entitled to a 185.00 for the dishwasher repair. I decided to go back to my old company American Home Shield. My dishwasher was 4-5 years old. SHW pro-rated the dishwasher so if I wanted it fixed I would have had to pay the difference between what they said it was worth and what the technician was going to charge.
I sent them 1000.00 for a 3 yr contract, I have never turned in a claim and I had their service for about 6 months. So they took back the 185.00 they said I deserved to get for the dishwasher repair and they said all that was left from my 3 year contract was 400.00. Needless to say I would never recommend SHW for any property owner. I explained the same scenario to my old company American Home Shield and they said that if the repair was more expensive that they would have replaced the dishwasher. I am glad I learned about SHW now instead of when my two heat pumps went out, then I would really be stuck. SHW offers NO benefits to the home owner. They hire inexperienced labor, they prorate the repair and make the customer pay the difference. If you want protection go with AHS.

No need to call again and again, one call takes care of your problem. They are always polite and know what they are doing. We are glad that we bought the policy with this company. Original Review: Bruce did an excelled job of explaining the benefits of this program. He asked if we were seniors and if either one of us were veterans. We received discounts for both of those. It was nice that he asked since our income limited since retirement. Questions we had were answered clearly. He explained a 5 year program that seemed like something we wanted so we went with that. Representatives were accommodating to my specific needs and questions. They were helpful in including specific things in the contract that I wanted to be pointed out in the contract. For example, they clarified that a roof leak would including patching the roof but does not include shingle replacement. They specifically added to my contract that water lines from the well house are covered under the contract as well as the sewer ejector pump. The senior plan is a great value and recommend it as the best value for seniors.

The service agent was very knowledgeable and happy to answer all of my questions and accommodate my needs. He told me about ways to reduce my annual costs while retaining the best coverage. I feel I got the best policy option available to me at the time. I would like to see additional exterior coverage added for things like water/sewage issues outside the house. We recently returned from a vacation to find our water heater leaking. We called Select Home warranty and received courteous prompt attention. Select Home Warranty found us a qualified company and that company called to schedule a technician to come inspect the water heater within a couple of days. The technician call the day of the scheduled appointment to ask if they could come the next day because they were to busy to come. We agreed and they came the next afternoon.. We are currently awaiting the replacement of the water heater. Thank you Select Home Warranty.

I was calling around for home warranty companies and came across this one. I read some reviews and decided to call. Mark was super friendly and informative and gave me the best rate and awesome coverages, many that other warranty companies don't cover and for much less. They are pretty comparable to most others I called price wise but are always offering promotions that others aren't.. They say you get what you pay for, so we shall see, but so far just from customer service alone, it's been great. I look forward to doing business with them and having a peace of mind knowing they have my back should anything go wrong.

Abraham ** was very knowledgeable and professional. He knows your business thoroughly. He is a bit pushy in that when he very completely explained the multiple-year plans and I said no, he couldn't leave it there and had to ask, "Do you see the value in signing on for a longer period"? As a Realtor I understand the idea of asking for the order three times, but I've never subscribed to it. Now, if he'd asked if I had any questions about the longer periods that would have been different, but asking if I understood the value after his complete explanation is a little condescending. No means no.

The plumber who serviced our problem, Rosario **, was highly professional, courteous, and thorough. Although the stoppage could not be repaired immediately due to having to access through the interior walls, Mr. **, tried every possible method to solve the problem without tearing into the wall. When it could not be immediately repaired, he contacted the Select office and we were immediately contacted by them for their processing of the claim. Fred was persistent but professional in his approach. I think the service call fee is reasonable and the coverage seems to hit all areas. I have not received the copy of the policy yet so I have not looked it over and therefore have no comment about it. I have nothing more to say until I look over the account email when I get it or when a service is performed. The only other thing I can think of is that he could have gone into more detail as to how to make a claim, whether there is a waiting period before a claim can be made. And things like that. Also where a service person might be coming from and how quickly they would be able to come to assess the problem.

I should receive an email as soon as that process is completed. On August 27 my washer and dryer finally quit. I called Select Home Warranty to send out a technician. They emailed me to call and set up an appointment with a particular company which I did. I heard back from the assigned company that they don't work with Select because Select doesn't pay them for their work. I called Select back and they reassigned another company. I set up an appointment and they came out on Sept. 3rd. Their diagnosis was grim and I needed to have both appliances replaced. I paid the tech and expected to get an email from Select about the diagnosis. Sept 6th...I called Select to follow up on my claim. They stated that they would contact the tech for the diagnosis. Sept. 10, still haven't heard anything....called Select again. They stated they had no received the diagnosis yet and they would put me on hold and call the tech.
Customer Service representative stated the tech had issues sending it to them so he would email the diagnosis to Select. Sept. 13: Called Select again. Customer Service representative Matt stated that they had no received the diagnosis from the tech. Again, the tech was called while I was on hold and stated that he would send it to them on Monday. I stated that this was unacceptable and I would contact the tech myself and speak with him. So, I called the tech and the tech stated that it showed my claim was closed out and that he had sent them my diagnosis several times. So, he stated he would resend it on Monday, Sept 16th. I stated that this was unacceptable as I had been going through this circus for almost two weeks. So, Marcus (the tech) stated he would send it no later than Sept. 13th before he got off work.
I called Select back and let them know what was stated by the tech. The Customer Service Rep. Chris stated that as soon as they received the diagnosis it would be escalated to the authorization dept for adjudication. Sept 14th: Still no word from either party. I called Select again. Again they stated that they had no received my diagnosis. I asked to speak with someone higher up and was told that Customer Service Rep. Aikl would contact the tech while I was on hold. I explained that this ship had sailed many times from port and we are still in dry dock. She apparently didn't totally understand and put me on hold and contacted the tech again. She reported that the tech was on his day off and he would attempt on Monday or Tuesday to resend my diagnosis.
I stated that this was completely unacceptable. She stated that if they don't have the diagnosis by Monday or Tuesday they would reassign another tech to come out and diagnosis my claim. So, that means I pay another $60 to another tech to diagnosis my washer and dryer with still no resolution in sight. If I had seen a review like this prior to purchasing a warranty with this company, I've got to be honest, I would have picked a different company.

I filed a claim with Select Home Warranty because my air conditioning unit was not cooling enough on the evenings on August 28, 2019, They sent Integrity Heating & Cooling a HVAC company and diagnosed that my AC evaporator coil it needed to be replaced. One week later I call SHW and within an hour or two I got an email from Select Home Warranty that they were denying my claim because my policy does not cover Freon leaks. If the Freon runs on ALL the HVAC system and a component of the system is broken it is logic that will leak specially on a 15 years old system.
So I called Select Home Warranty, argued back-and-forth over the phone and cancel, they email the confirmation of the reimbursement check so I call to find out the amount and they deducted one month of service (which is OK since I was cover that month) but charged $75 for cancellation because the cancellation is free within the first month but you can not submit a claim within the first month, so to find out how this group of THIEVES operate you need to pay and also pay for the service call $75 ... WHAT A DEAL.

I faithfully sent payment to this warranty company and when my AC system stop working in the middle of a heatwave they denied my claim. I received a response stating "Your AC system has a Freon leak which is not covered under our policy and therefore your claim will be denied." No repairs or payments will be made. I have absolute no trust in this company and plan to follow up with the BBB to help ensure this does not happen to another consumer. I really feel like I've been totally scammed.

"Gold Care package" (HVAC/Plumbing/Electric/Hot water heat) coverage $349.99 for 12 months + 2 months free. Called on 7/31/2019. A/C not working... They sent out technician. (I paid $60) service fee...technician said burnt out Compressor fan and capacitor - to fix would be $545. SHW did not call next day to say if they would pay so I called them at 8;30 AM. Aug 1 and they said they would NOT PAY....
Section 6.3.6 in their policy clearly states they would cover the damage I had on my A/C unit but they said "power surge" after a storm would not be covered, even though my HOMEOWNERS and PECO (Philadelphia Electric) said it was due to Wear and Tear and not weather/power surge/outage. SHW also asked for three years of service records on my unit after I insisted they revisit their decision. Even after I sent ALL THAT (above) in documents, they STILL denied the claim. On Aug 15 I cancelled policy and they could not even give me the correct refund for months not used on this policy. THEY ARE A TOTAL SHAM....

I am not sure why this company is on the top because I'll give them a ZERO. To start, they got overpaid by the Title Co. and have not returned the money. They told the Title Co. I can use the extra payment as part of my first service call. It did not happen that way. I called for service in regards to a water heater issue and they couldn't find any service provider available in my area to inspected. My husband had to crawl in the space and the water heater was only on pilot so we fixed it. Then I had an issue with the gas stove and we finally ended up just not using it.
The last one was with the swamp cooler not working properly. It took a while to get a service provided in my area. One of the vendors told me that they did not service Select HW because they did not pay them in a timely manner. Select finally found someone to check the swamp cooler and I had to pay the $75.00 service fee (They told me they would use the overpayment of $50.00 for the service fee but then they said it was against policy). The bill came up to $200.00. Select told me I had to pay $125.00 for the labor because the part "installation" is not included. So I paid $75.00 plus $125.00 for a total of $200.00. DO NOT USE SELECT HOME WARRANTY. THEY ARE THE WORSE.
Before the warranty expiration last month August 2019, one of their representative contacted me to see if I wanted to EXTEND my HW....lol. I told him all my issues with the company and that I was NOT interested but I wanted the $50.00 overpayment to be refunded. He then said that I can use the overpayment for a renewal but that the company will NEVER refund the money. He was so rude and basically thought he can bully me into buying a renewal. Once again! Purchased a Home Warranty from Select Home Warranty on 10 May 19. The covered items included appliances and HVAC system for my condo. Claim filed on 28 Aug 19 for AC unit not cooling and for poor air flow. Western Air Control (Great Company) came out on 29 Aug 19 to look at the issue(s). They advised that the accumulator was faulty and leaking freon. Later I received a email from Select Home Warranty stating that my claim was denied because they do not cover freon leaks. I called Select Home Warranty to tell them that there is a freon leak because of a failed accumulator. Another company of my choice come out to evaluate my system. This company concurred with Western's finding but also found a failed coil which was also leaking freon. The coil would also freeze up from time to time. After not getting anywhere on the phone with Kristi, I asked to speak with a manager or supervisor.
On 30 Aug 19 at 230pm I spoke with Supervisor Michael at extension ** (855 267-3532). Michael stated freon leaks are not covered. Once again I told him it is leaking because of failed components. He disagreed and once again denied my claim. I then called Michael at his extension 4 different times since 02 Sept 19 and left voicemails asking him to call me which he never did.
On today's date 06 Sept 19 I cancelled my policy with Select Home Warranty when I spoke to Luis who tried to get me to stay with Select Home Warranty after they denied my claim because freon was leaking in which he said was not covered. He too was advised that it was leaking because of failed components. They just don't get it!!! He said a manager will call me in a few days and I told him that I am still waiting for Michael to call me back and have nobody call me back because I AM DONE! He advised that it would be 30 days before I receive my refund and that he had no idea how much that amount would be. Very disappointed in the way they do business and in their customer service. I would never recommend this company.

I have purchased several home warranties from several different companies and this is my worst experience by far. They sent an unlicensed HVAC tech out who charged me $955 and never completed the work. Select Home Warranty denied any responsibility and would not return my calls. They kept saying "We don't cover Freon leaks." The unit doesn't even use Freon? And how about the tech you sent out taking my money and running?

We paid Select Home Warranty 4 years in advance. 899.99 for Platinum Care which covers AC, Pool etc. Well the compressor went out on the AC until Select Home warranty sent a technician out, and the AC technician created another issue that called for an electrical person to go out. We paid 2 service call fees. The electrician fixed the part, but the AC tech wrote up his information for the new compressor, and Select Home Warranty asked my husband for 3 years of tune up proof, before they would cover paying for the compressor. We do not get our AC serviced every year. So because I did not have the 3 years of proof of service, we had to shell out 1900.00 to pay for a new compressor, on top of the two service fees.
It would have been less expensive to NOT have a home warranty, and just pay when things get broke. I think Select Home Warranty should be SURE TO TELL new customers, that if something happens with your AC unit, it will NOT be covered unless you have it serviced each year, and can provide proof of these receipts. VERY VERY disappointed in not having this pointed out to us in advance.

Worst experience I have had. Four months have passed since I bought this warranty. My ac on the second floor stopped working for me. I opened claim same day. Same day contractors gave estimate. Weekend only takes place on Wednesday, I received an email that they can only cover $ 150 and only if I have a service record. When buying a warranty, they didn’t tell me anything. My next question is, how much will repairs cost from my pocket? They answered 800 + $. At this moment their contractor calls me, I asked him the same question about the price, he answered me 600 + $. I lost confidence in them. Called the local family company. They arrived. They found a completely different problem that cost me only $ 425. And all this happens when in Texas 100 degree outside and kids sleep upstairs. Do not believe them. This is the worst company. I have claim number and all estimate and invoice.

I wish I could rate this company even lower. Each time we have called for a service we had to fight to have it covered. They were not honoring what was laid out in their contract, always finding a loophole. That is not as bad as the time for service. To have someone call me back, to determine whether a service was covered, took at least 48 hours. The last time I even bothered calling them (finally decided it was not even worth my time to call them) was a terrible situation that Select Home Warranty made even worse. My husband was out of town, and I was home alone with an infant. We were facing a severe winter storm, that I knew was going to shut down roads and businesses for a number of days, if not a week.
About 12 hours before the storm was set the hit our furnace went out. It was suppose to be covered by Select, so I called to have them dispatch someone. I explained that it was an emergency as I was facing a severe winter storm, with freezing temperatures and an infant, who was unable to regulate his temperature in extremes, in the house. After waiting hours to hear anything, with the temperature in the house continuing to drop, I called and stayed on the line until I finally talked to a live person.
They told me my claim had been deemed a non-emergency so they would not assign it for 36 hours or more. They were not going to call me to let me know this however, so I guess I was suppose to wait out the storm waiting to find out if my claim was an emergency. They also told me they would not dispatch anyone until after the storm had passed our area, so I was looking at days without heat in the house. I asked what about a freezing house with an infant was not an emergency, but the person could not answer. Finally frustrated, angry, and scared for my son I hung up the phone with Select and called an HVAC company myself. They had someone at my house within an hour because of having an infant in the house, and they fixed everything within 1 hour. It was worth every penny out of pocket to NOT USE Select. Since then we have never called Select for anything.
Now they are sending false requests to companies with our name. Tonight I received a text from a company saying they were scheduling service, not sure what for though. My husband and I looked at each other because neither of us had contacted any company about any service to our house. As we started digging into the company we discovered they are connected to Select Home Warranty. So now, they will not respond to requests from us, but they will give out our information. This is the WORST company I have ever dealt with. They steal your money and do not provide any services. They are unresponsive, unprofessional, and have the worst fraudulent business ethics of any company I have ever dealt with.

After waiting 11 days to get my response while my AC was not working, My claim was denied stating my ac issue was a freon leak, but the technician stated the reason I had a leak was because the condenser fan had gotten off track, causing the the vibrations to develop a slow leak in the coils. The reason for the ac not working is due to the condenser fan, not specifically the freon leak. Do not give this company any business.

I recently called customer service to complain that the service technician never called or showed up for the scheduled appointment. Chester was my CS rep and he immediately apologized and explained my available options. He helped get a new provider and schedule a new appointment with them. Chester was very accommodating and friendly. No sooner I hung up the phone I received and email regarding the call and a text message from a new repair company. I schedule my best three available times and received a call from them minutes later. I am impressed with the speed all this took place in.

I looked up home warranty companies on the internet. After doing research I choose your company. When your rep called me he gave me a better deal than I was quoted on the internet. He was not trying to force me to buy which I liked. He went over all the cost and offered me more value for my money if I took the policy out for 5 years. I purchased the platinum warranty and I called to use the warranty on my garage door opener. My husband went to leave for work and when he pressed the button the garage door opener started then the whole chain fell off. My husband got up there to look and the chain drive broke in half. Select Home Warranty sent me a contractor's number and I called to set up the service call. When the contractor arrived and he looked at the opener he said it was not repairable and said he would send the paper work into claims, and I waited and waited for claims to review mine.
On a Sunday I was checking my email and I saw one from select home warranty stating, (We have processed your claim for policy #. You have been approved for a cash reimbursement in the amount of $175.00, which you may use towards repair or replacement of your current unit. After a Review of the information and diagnosis relating to your claim, it has been determined that the cost of repairs exceeds the current value of your unit).
OK great, I get it that the unit that was there was old and they were only going to cover a similar unit, however I thought ok $175 will be a cheap unit, but they did not say how it would be installed. So I emailed then called and spoke to several people, that ended up telling me that they do not cover installation for anything in their policies and I had to purchase the garage door opener out of my pocket and pay for installation for a total out of pocket cost of $450 and then I had to send in a copy of my total charges showing that it was installed and then they would send me a form to fill out for me to be reimbursed for $175.00.
This is total BS, Come on Really! You don't pay for the installation? Nope they said. I asked if they paid for installation on any of the policy items and again a supervisor told me NO. So my policy states right there on page 2 Your Item is repaired or replaced, Simple as that. So I am going to cancel this policy and go with select home warranty which includes installation, repair, parts, labor, EVERYTHING for much less that this company.

I looked online at pricing and was interested but couldn't find the service fee. I Called the number for customer service trying to get more information but the wait times were long. After holding for 15 minutes I requested a callback but No one ever called me back. I got a text the next morning from Jeff and I called him back after work and he gave me the information I needed and we started my order. I haven't yet used the warranty yet so I can't review anything as far as the claims part of it at this point.

They are a very competitive company who strives to earn your business and keep your business. The representatives have been very helpful and friendly, helping me find the best and cost effective package for my family and home. Plumber was prompt and professional. Unknown what it will cost. A little worried about the cap on repair costs. Communication is ongoing and email is the way to go. Use of my current plumber is a plus. He normally refrains from home warranty companies but did it for me.

Positive experience. I already checked on replacement part but a technician will still be sent will take a couple of days for technician. Cannot open the fridge door until repaired. I could replace the handle myself. Just need a replacement handle shipped. Could have saved a technician visit. I feel the technician visit in this case is not a requirement which would save time and money.

We have been using Select Home Warranty for almost a year now for our home and 2 rental properties. We've made electrical claims, a claim for our pool, washer, dryer and A/C unit. They have denied 90% of the claims. I'm not even sure what we're paying for. On top of this, it takes about 3-4 for the company (At Home Services) to get a technician out to the property and then 2-3 days to deny the claim. This leaves us or our renters without A/C or a fridge for over a week. Please do not go with this company!

I called for repair. Let me state K&G is NOT AT FAULT. The shady warranty company is. My sprayer broke. However I called the manufacturer and they sent a whole replacement fixture. The services says he would have to charge me $199 because the $150 that I’m allowed was used up in him driving across town. Their providers have ZERO to do with my amount allotted for service. They bought no parts. I had the parts. I would have even paid the $45 difference but the man from overseas couldn’t understand that. So basically they had to take my NEW FIXTURE APART to take a piece off to replace the sprayer. Break it to fix it because the $150 includes the gas for them to drive across town. I will be canceling IMMEDIATELY. No where in the approval does it say the $150 is for the tech to drive across town. All a scam.

HVAC issue. The issue happened in a very hot summer day, and I believed no Home Warranty company could locate a technician promptly to come to fix it. Instead of allowing 48 hours as a rule to get me a technician, Select Home Warranty to allow me to find my own technician and reimburse the cost. This is a great service and a lot of value added to the program. We may face some very urgent problems, and then is the time to testify how the service is as a home warranty company. Select Home Warranty does a good job, which made me feel comfortable and safe. I really appreciate it.

I am in a desperate need for a supervisor to call me back ASAP As soon As Possible. I am getting the run-around from your company. I requested a supervisor to call me Thursday and Friday no one has called. It's Monday. I need a call today. Flustrated with your customer service. I am not happy and I have paid my warranty up for 6 years. You all have made several mistakes. You have lost my contract that I renewed for 6 years. I paid upfront and you all had terminated my contract after taking my money. You all had my co-pay wrong. It is supposed to be $45 not 60. I called Thursday evening Friday evening and you all told me within 48 Hours someone would be out here. It is now Monday and you all can't seem to get it together. The contractor came out and we had to go through several people. We talk to customer service. We talked to we talked to the contract people and the approval people.
You all have not lived up to your end of the contract and I am very disappointed and I happy with this service. I have a small child in my house 9 months old and you need approval to order a part from the contractor that you sent out. THAT is NOT acceptable. If you're working with this contractor it should be automatically approved since they have to order a part to get my air conditioner work. I am not happy with your service or your service team. I've requested for a supervisor to call me over five times and I have not received a call. My next call is to the Better Business Bureau. I already understand that you have many complaints about the way that you all do business.

I called in a claim for repair on the fridge that broke down. The representative who answered my call was prompt and courteous. When they asked questions, they were very patient while she waited for my responses. The rep spoke very clearly and she proceeded to give me the necessary next steps. It was very easy to file the claim for my leaking kitchen pipe and my smell coming from my bathroom faucet. The agent spoke clearly and was able to understand exactly what I was trying to convey to him. He was very polite, friendly and to the point. Called to get a repairman. The customer service representative helped to get my problem corrected quickly. I have to wait for 48hrs for someone to contact me for repairs. This I feel is a little longer to wait however at least someone is going to be out soon. I cannot give a review of the service company as of yet. Late last night the air stop flowing into the house. We then shut the system down and tried resetting when that didn’t work we shut it off. We then called in this morning to file a claim. Got the claim file and now waiting to find out who will be sent out to get lt working again. I hope iris soon as the temperature is expected to be in the low nineties and as we are in our late seventies.

Hands down the best customer experience I have had in quite some time. Jonathan answered all my questions/concerns about the company. He talked to me about the company, coverages, and saving money. Who doesn't want to hear about that! By the end of our conversation I was sold. Signed up immediately. Many companies, so it seem, are moving more towards having "systems" answer the phone. It was nice to have a real person on the phone, someone who is knowledgeable about the company and its services, cares about establishing a relationship and you could tell Jonathan genuinely enjoys his work.

We had a lot of questions over our new house Warranty. The service person answered all our questions and gave us advice on some of the issues. They ended up send me a new contract so I could gain more knowledge on coverage. Plus roof leaks are covered as well. Thank you. We are first time homebuyers so our knowledge wasn’t there. When I called the first time a recording set my expectations that it would take over 2 minutes or I could request a callback and "keep my place in line". I selected the callback. 2 hours and 15 minutes later I called back. I held for about 7 minutes hearing a 2 minute message 2 times. Sam ** was very helpfully in explaining coverage and after I committed to purchasing, offered me opportunities to take advantage of discounts and locking in price. Sam is very thorough, professional and yet make you feel comfortable and not pressure. I feel I have good understanding. I signed up to get 2 extra free months, then extended to a 5 year with one free year. Expect 72 months plus 2 extra months. Not sure 2 extra months are reflected in my contract.

I have just moved to my forever home. I had all the appliances and A/C checked out and paid out of pocket. Called to report a claim on a clothes washer. Contractor attempted to repair, was unable to do so. Was referred to a contractor who is no longer taking work for SHW. Was referred to a contractor who does not serve this town. Was referred to a contractor who does not work on that brand of washer. Was referred (again!) to each of these, no of whom is capable of performing the repair without a phone call, in spite of multiple calls indicating the problem at hand.
Emails to "info@selecthomewarranty.com", which is their address provided on the website and by phone operators when I offered to leave positive or negative reviews receive an immediate "thank you for..." response, followed by an obviously canned response designed to look like an email from "BA Jason", and these emails appear to go nowhere.
When responding to the Select Home Warranty request for review of my experience, selecting "Good experience" brought me to this site, but selecting "Bad experience" brought me to their own form which I won't hold my breath waiting for a response. They have indicated a one month extension on the (worthless?) contract for each review, and I'm curious if they actually follow through. This entire experience went from frustrating to laughable, and I don't know whether to feel worse for their operators, contractors, or customers.

The representative who we talk to clarified how things worked and mentioned a promotion that we were unaware of. He was able to get an even better deal which made Select Home Warranty the most effective choice for a highly rated company. Coverage for Sprinklers System was a big plus in our situation. I had a good experience with placing the claim to get a Tech. However in getting approval you need to have the Representative speak a little more clearly and have a better knowledge on how to process the claim. Please let the customer know on the reimbursement process as to how one gets their monies back. All in all the process went as good as I expected. Please screen the Techs a lot more. The First company you sent out was Myrtle Beach Appliance and they were the worst.

Customer Service was very kind and helpful. The local company contacted me quickly and we set up an appointment for them to come to my home and service my washing machine. I am impressed that there was a person to answer my call at 4:30 AM and I can set up a service call around my work schedule. They are good about approving and being fair. I take care of my appliances and they have approved both repairs. I usually don't use the warranty though and only call in a claim when necessary because I sometimes just buy new appliances if I find good deals on them. Sometimes I see bad reviews about these warranty companies not approving claims, but sometimes I think it comes down to people not taking very good care of their appliances to begin with.
