Very helpful so far. Have just got started with Select Home Warranty, so I do not know how good they are yet. Sam was very professional and tried get me the best deal he could. Hopefully they will be as good if we have any problems.

Mr Ray S. was a big help to me. After doing much research on finding a-reputable company who could serve my needs, I went with Select. Ray was informed, helpful n reassuring. I am looking forward to working with him in the future. We were very hesitant to switch warranty companies, but everyone who helped at Select was extremely respectful and helpful. It made this transition very smooth and worthwhile. There is nothing better than feeling that you are protecting yourself and your home. Select has everything I need to feel confident in my coverage. I will definitely recommend this company to anyone looking to buy a home warranty.

The representative who signed me up for a policy and the representative who took my claim information were both very eager to assist me. Each representative readily and clearly explained coverage to me. It appears that I am receiving a good value for the amount of money I am spending.

Was very satisfied with Greg. The way he took time to explain the company and what I could expect if I had a problem. The customer service representative was quick with helping me find the right product for me. It is worth the money for the service provided. This purchase will put my mind at ease in relation to my concerns about expensive home repairs. I would recommend this service to a family member. My mother suggested I purchase this warranty. She said it would be worth every penny for the peace of mind the service provides.

Peter ** explained the policy to me and was very courteous. He addressed all of my concerns about the policy as l was very unsure of the validity of the coverage and or policy. He reassured me stating the company’s length of time in business. He was very pleasant and offered me a number of discounts.

Spoke with a sales rep about the home warranty. He was polite and courteous. Described the plans and cost of each. He said tell the buyer to call and change the policy to their name on the closing day or shortly thereafter. I decided to purchased a one year plan from them for the new buyer.

Very quick and simple. Zachary did a great job, would recommend to family and friends. I don't really know what else to say other then if was a great price and easy process. Ordering online is cheaper then billing the escrow company. Literally, the hardest part of the process is this review.

I had a very easy time submitting a claim related to a plumbing issue with my property. The Select Home Warranty representative was very clear and made scheduling an appointment easy and quick. All I had to do was provide my account number and explain the issue. I will also have to schedule the appointment once I get an email from Select Home Warranty.

I was calling because my dryer was not functioning properly and I the person I talked to fully disclosed all the information I needed to know including timeframes and fees. I appreciate the professionalism and how easy it is to make a claim. I also appreciate how he went step by step with me to start my claim.

After waiting 7 days, I was finally informed that you do not have contracts with refrigerator repairmen in this area. I located my own and after he diagnosed the problem we called Select Warranty and spoke with agent to get approval. The whole process has been going on for 24 days and still is not resolved. I personally have made 7 phone calls and receive the runaround each time. I have a part ordered as I need a refrigerator to keep my insulin cold. I could have found the solution 10 days sooner if Select Warranty would have told me I needed to find my own repairman rather than sending me e-mails telling me I would be hearing from one in 48 hours.

After several days of comparing both price and service we chose Select Home Warranty as our warranty company for our new home. User friendly sign up online and representative immediately reached out and gave us more ways to save additional money. Although we have yet to need Select’s services I feel confident that we chose the best Home Warranty company.

My old warranty went up almost $200/year in price. I got a great deal with this company - way better than my previous. I couldn’t pass up on it. Sales person was very informative and professional. I can’t speak to how service is since I just ordered it. But, I am Looking forward to seeing how their service is in the event I need to use it.

The customer service was helpful and I understood what was spoken to me. The only part I thought was not communicated was the amount of service fee that was added on when I paid for the contract. Otherwise I think I will enjoy the service and would recommend Select Warranty to family and friends.

It was my first experience in filing a claim and your agent was very helpful. He explained the process of your contacting an electrician and that I would be receiving an email, after which the electrician would contact me. He also gave me a claim number for follow up purposes. All in all, I was comfortable with my first experience with your company.

No issues ordering, love the fact that roof leak is an option. More affordable and easy claims. My last company was more expensive and did not offer roof leak, also they messed up my bills constantly. I love the simplicity of Select and will remain a customer for a long time to come.

Young lady on the phone was very helpful in getting me a copy of my policy. 3 people had told me they were emailing it yet it never came. After talking with her, it was done! It shouldn't have taken that many people to get it done but grateful she answered the phone.

The problem was not fixed. I have to paid more for this claim. I bought the warranty because I need help and it is difficult to know what is cover any time. I gave to paid 45.00 and paid more to another contractor. Nobody speaks Spanish in customer service and I can not Express in English all the problem idea.

Select Home Warranty provides roof leaking coverage. This is my first claim. Select Home Warranty responded swiftly. The service caller took more detailed information from me. Then within two hours, I have received a roofing company to contact me. I admit they have very good services. I would like to recommend others to join the services.

The outside air conditioner does not kick on during the heat mode or the cool mode. I explained the situation and the lady explained how the process works since this is my first claim. I am currently waiting for a service tech to contact me. I should hear from service tech by Feb. 3 2020. If not I will call back.

Shopped around for home warranty and when I came across Select, had to look no further. The customer rep was very friendly and explained everything I needed to know very well. Was efficient - spoke to English and handled everything very well. No issues at all with the service I received today. He was able to change my address as well as it was not correct on my warranty contract. I did like the call back option but the hold time was only 3 minutes so it worked out just fine. Filing a claim online was an easy process, still had to place a call and explain the issue. Once the claim is received and processed you get an response from a Contractor fairly quick. If the Company is very busy, you may have to wait 1 to 2 days before someone comes out. But overall Select Home Warranty has come through with professional and knowledgeable technicians to get the job done.

Help in opening the ticket with right SHW account. I have multiple account. When I open ticket online it always goes to diff account. Which was reviewed and she helped me to open ticket with right account **. I was told only use last 5 digits to open account.

Water not draining. Overflowing from washer drain. This wasn’t a problem when home was bought. I’m hoping the home warranty purchased was a smart move. I have no idea why this problem would arise. Some of the other drains are draining slower than normal too.

I have been searching for a home warranty for a few weeks. I received great customer service and they beat all competitors prices. I even received a discount for the service call fee, which can usually be quite expensive. I also received a lot more coverage than other companies offered for the same price. I’m very pleased with the service.

I have made claims for my Air Conditioning Unit, Water Heater and Refrigerator, all of which is covered under my warranty, and have received no payments whatsoever for these items. I had become so frustrated that I phoned them September of 2019 to cancel my policy. At this point I was contacted by a specialist, Jeremy **, and was assured that I would receive partial payments for the NEW air conditioner I paid for fully, the NEW water heater that I paid for fully, the NEW refrigerator that I paid for fully.
All of these items were deemed "unable to be fixed" by the repairmen sent by Select Home Warranty and it was explained a NEW one would need to be purchased. Each time Select had a reason they would not cover the full cost - yet, they have to-date, not covered any of these costs at all. I would have proceeded to cancel and have the refund issued had I not been told that sending receipts is all I needed to do for the refund. I have sent receipts multiple times and this issue has not yet been resolved.

Good experience in obtaining new home warranty. Personnel was very good in explaining the different policies and prices. I would recommend this company to my friends and family. I submitted a claim Dec 31st and the technician came out and diagnosed my leak in the bedroom as a roof leak they said. I called it a plumbing issue and would have to be redirected to another technician and pay the technician again which is the same one. I also have a valve issue under 3 sinks and Jason Which is a supervisor says I will be charged for 3 diagnosis when they are all the same and Albert the technician said this when he came out the first time and he is the one that diagnosed the roof leak and now wants to get paid again for diagnosing the ceiling as a roof issue and not a plumbing leak.??? Very frustrating.

I responded to a call inquiring about my desire for a home warranty, and was connected to Daniel **. Daniel was very personable and knowledgeable about the warranty and the service and payment options available. I shared my concerns and asked him many questions about the policy and coverage. His courtesy, patience and professionalism were the deciding factor for me to purchase a policy. I had talked with other companies over the past couple weeks and he had the best presentation. I bought a policy for my home and one for my future in-laws.

The representative that I spoke to you for my enrollment with Select Home Warranty was very professional and offered me various payment packages which was extremely helpful given I had just purchased my home and funding was quite tight at the time. After my mother recommended we get the SHW we signed up. We were promised our claim would be satisfied within 48 hours of issuing the claim. We had to find our own person to do the job and it took over an hour to get it approved over the phone with SHW. Then we weren't reimbursed for the full amount. We did NOT upgrade except it had to be a newer model because the one we had didn't exist anymore. Wait times on the phone can be over an hour. When we asked to speak with a supervisor we were on hold for 1 hour and 45 minutes before we gave up. I will NEVER recommend SHW and, quite the opposite, I will deter anyone that is interested in them. I wish I could get my money back because they have done nothing in the 5 months since we filed a claim. We did all the work and didn't even get the full reimbursement. Pathetic service. We are still waiting for another claim to be fulfilled. I'm not going to hold my breath.

Made the plan sound simple (which I liked) and was willing to work with me regarding my payment date. This has lifted a great deal off of my shoulders and I thank him for his persistence. I called regarding Home Warranty information and Peter ** was the agent who assisted me. Peter was extremely helpful, courteous, professional and knowledgeable. He answered all my questions and did a great job explaining the programs. He was able to alleviate any doubts and concerns I had regarding warranty protection. He was comfortable to speak with and at no time did I feel I was being pressured and he explained, in detail, the various options available. Through him I was able to purchase and have 6 years of warranty protection for my home (that included one extra year of protection). Thank You!

Be aware of the Terms and Condition. I know someone would say it it is my fault that I didn't read entire Terms and Condition, but who read it entire fine print? There is always Terms and condition apply to void your claim. Three claim filed and only one approved. The one approved, I end-up waiting for one month to get it fix and I have to pay extra money out of pockets. Shouldn't have sign up for this.

This company offers all kinds of discounts and extra months to get you to buy and then get free months when you place a great review. But they are horrible. I had an AC not working in the heat of Texas, and they sent someone over, then said, after diagnosis, it would take 48 hours for them to decide if they were going to pay anything. 2 freaking days!! It's 100 degrees here. I had a plumbing stoppage and all of a sudden they have a limit of $250 payout... And it took 30 days to get that $250... The bill was $661 because it was 1001 to the stoppage and they had to go inside and work from both ends. 3 times they have declined to pay at all. I have never been more aggravated with a warranty company.

Unfortunately, we did not select the home warranty company that was included when we bought our house. We have have a few companies during moves and all of them were wonderful. We have the PLATINUM CARE and it is not worth $1. We have had numerous claims that have all been denied due to coverage not included (Roof leaking, refrigerator not working, and we have a pending claim for a washer not draining). Our garbage disposal was the only thing they did approve but they would only give us $75.00 for the repair and replacement of the garbage disposal. That didn't even cover the service fee of the plumber for installing the disposal. The disposal itself was over $150. Their response was that they are paying the depreciated value of the garbage disposal? I don't think they are upfront with that when you purchase a home warranty through them.
You purchase a home warranty for a peace of mind. When the warranty doesn't cover the cost of the service or replacement it is useless. The experience was an absolute waste of time, working with a company that doesn't want to provide any customer service or care about their customers. You are better off saving your money on buying the warranty and using it when something goes wrong because with this company you'll be paying for both.

I bought the home warranty from this company after reading the reviews and have been regretting it EVER SINCE. The reviews must be fake or rigged if such a horrible, lying company could have such high rating. From day 1 they will lie to you in all kinds of ways! Read ALL the fine prints and you will see that they basically covers nothing in your home systems and appliances. STAY AWAY!

We had issue with water heater, they send the first person and never hear back from them, after 5 calls, they told us, that they going to close the claim, because we did not do anything. We had another 5 calls and they told us to find another person and get it repaired. We did, it cost $500, they told us, that they going to give us $150, because, we did not send maintenance record. We email them maintenance records 3 times, they say, they still "didn't get it". Still continue..., didn't get any money yet.

One home HVAC system stopped working and I filed a claim. They sent an unknown company ‘repairman’ who stated all that was needed was to replace the capacitor and recharge the system. I asked him doesn’t that mean something is broken or leaking? He said no. I called a second known reputable company and their repairmen showed me several issues requiring complete system replacement. As requested by Select, I sent the written estimate listing each issue plus picture of the unit. Select told me my system was too old to be covered and they didn’t authorize the second company's opinion. Even though that’s one of the things they state on TV that because systems are old they would cover repairs or replacement. Two months later the same thing happened with our second HVAC. Over $11,000.00 later, we are paying for the new systems. And since then select has been harassing us to renew the contract! NOT! Never again!!!

I requested someone to come look at my furnace on January 25th and to date I haven't received a response except an email stating that their companies are backed up and that I could pay someone to come look at it and they would reimburse me but it could take 30 days to get my money back, this is not very good business. I'm strongly thinking about changing companies for my home warranty.

We chose Select Home Warranty because their representative told us that if needed broken appliances would be replaced with working ones at no additional costs. Period. We were told as well the service would be done in a timely manner. Our washer broke, so we reached out and scheduled a service visit through their network.
After the visit, we heard nothing for weeks. When we called to ask what was going on they told us they had forgotten to process it. The entire time we're paying to wash our laundry waiting on them. They finally processed the request, which we were told was about determining if it was best to repair or replace. Instead, they offered to pay for a fraction of the cost repair or replacement cost. Leaving us to pay hundreds out of pocket to fill the gap. This is an unsatisfactory solution considering how we were sold on this service. Shameful service.

We have worked with 3 home warranty companies and Select is by far the WORST! Do not buy a warranty from them. Our hot water heater went out the first day in our new house. We went almost a week without hot water as we did our due diligence to ensure we had a proper diagnosis and weren’t replacing if it weren’t absolutely necessary. Mind you, We have a 2 year old and another on the way so that in itself was tough to do! It was deemed that we needed a new hot water heater.
Our hot water heater was a very nice model and not at end of life. Select offered us less than $200 to repair it. It ended up costing us a couple thousand out of pocket to replace. Months later our washer started throwing an error code. Select suggested a technician that we were unable to get in touch with. We called them for assistance and after a couple days of them not being able to get in touch with the technician, they instructed me to find a local technician. I confirmed over and over that this was the correct step. The service fee and diagnosis was $148. A quote was Provided from the technician to repair for close to $700. Select offered us a measly $185. This barely covers the cost of the technician they REQUIRED us to get!!!! There is no coverage for repairs being offered. I am beyond upset and frustrated by this company’s poor business practices. They are a complete scam! Please avoid them by all means necessary.

Plumber was 2 hours late, so I wait 6 hours, he finally got there, he found the kitchen leak quickly, and only had to change a lock washer in the Master Bath to get the Faucet working correctly. So I but very pleased with all the work that they did. Short time that it took him to find it.

Why is it so hard to get a copy of a PAID INVOICE? We are to close on the home, next Friday. Your Select Home Warranty service told me you have on file 2 requests for "a copy of the paid invoice". 1 on Jan 6, 2020 and another on Jan 10, 2020. Today is Jan 25, 2020. I was told it would be sent the following day. They sent a copy of the policy, not the paid invoice. Do they NOT READ AT ALL? THIS IS NOT CUSTOMER SERVICE AT ALL, Title is requesting this item for the Lender. I actually need it. The policy was paid in full. They know it, I know it, so why is this so hard? I am worried about any response if I need the home warranty, at this point.

Believe me you will regret if you buy this insurance plan. When they enroll they will promise they cover all and no cancellation fee but after joining if you don't like their services they will say there is $75 cancellation fee. They are really good cheater, they don't cover at all except very small things at home which you can do by yourself by watching YouTube. For those small problem also they charge $45 copay which is unnecessary. If you spend $50 you can fix without them. Please don't buy this. Stay Away. Get relief from pain.

Heating was not heating very good. Tech showed up early which was very convenient. He checked the system for any issues and decided it was the duct work in the walls. He was very knowledgeable of the system I have in my condo. What really impressed me was the fact that he dug deep to find any problems with the unit. When he was done he took the time to explain to me the whole issue that maybe causing my heat issue. He checked all the vents for air flow and temp. He check the thermostat for any issues in that area. The tech was just very knowledgeable about what could be causing the problem.

My initial experience signing up was wonderful, reading the reviews and the respect from the sales agent was wonderful. Well three weeks into it I didn't get my contract so I called and the Customer Service Rep ask me all these questions, and I answered them. I said all I want is my contract for my records, and then she was short and abrupt. So I said I should cancel. She immediately transfer me to cancelation department. Didn't even try to say, "Oh I'm sorry. Let me get that over to you." So I waited on hold for ten minutes and then hung up. Not less than thirty minutes did I get my contract. And so two month to today I was getting any heat and I submitted a claim for my heat, it was no issues.
And now the contractor came out to repair and called to get approval. He was telling them wear and tear and he said it's normal. He was on the phone telling them he can't get no clearer than wear and tear. And so we tried to reach Management and was told no one is available, now how crazy is that? So the technician who was courteous and very helpful empathize with our dilemma and apologize as it wasn't his fault. I called again and ask for a Manager and Violet ask for my identification and then place me on hold for ten minutes and I hung up. This is the worse company I ever dealt with for a home warranty, and I canceled with American First because they were a little expensive than this company, but they're worth it as I had them for ten years. I will never use or recommend Select Home again.

Call them for a leak in the plumbing system, it was on the shower, the tech they send found the leak. Of course they do not cover all the holes in the drywall which is understandable, once the leak was found they did not approve the repair, they only approved the parts and not the repair. I talked with a Customer Service rep and they have no idea, so they are ok with me getting to a different company.

Do not trust this company, they denied to fix my appliances. They can deny fixing any appliances because of a clause in 9.1.2 in the last line "installation". The whole 9.1.2 contract agreement says "does not cover". Even my appliances new and brand - the company deny the installation.

Extremely poor customer service with promises not kept ("We will get back to you within 24 hours"). I added the coverage of Sprinkler's system but they don't even cover the leak of water lines, broken head, labor to search the leak, valves. On another claim, my toilet was not flushing.. the technician came over and assessed a $260 job to fix it, Select Home Warranty covered only $150 max!! Also, it took Select Home Warranty 79 days and 18 phone calls to send me a check of $136 to cover a part I had purchased. I have many more examples of how bad and incompetent this company is but I would rather spend my time somewhere else.

My garage door opener would not close the door. So I called Select and they denied the repair because "the sensor was part of the door". The sensor is not part of the door. It came with the opener and not with the door. These are the clauses for Garage Door Opener. How do they get Safety Sensors to be part of the excluded list? "6.3.7. Garage Door Opener. This Agreement covers the following garage door opener components: (i) control board; (ii) motors; (iii) chains; (iv) belts; (v) gears; (vi) pulley; (vii) sheave fork; (viii) axle bolts; and (ix) switches. Excluded: (i) garage doors; (ii) springs; (iii) brackets; (iv) tracks; (v) rails;" I don't trust these guys anymore.

I opened a claim on 1/4/2020 as I thought my main was backing up. On 1/7/2020 I updated my claim as it was actually my washing machine/utility sink having issues. Was assured it would be covered. Plumber came 1/8/2020 to look and when he pulled on my pipe it came off completely. He told me that he had to get authorization before fixing and I should hear something in approx 24 hours. Later in the evening on 1/8 I checked my email and saw my claim was denied. From that point it's been a rollercoaster of approval and denial. Select even sent over authorization to the plumber for $225 (which wasn't the amount they verbally told them so I was also fighting regarding that), but depending on who I talk to I'm either authorized for work but escalated for full amount or I am fully denied yet still escalated. I've contacted two different State AG offices to lodge a complaint at this point.

If you select a monthly payment option beware that your policy doesn't go in effect for 35 days instead of the 30 days they tell you! I had a sump pump failure (which I was paying extra to cover) and because I didn't know about this little technicality and filed a claim 48 hrs before the 35 days, they did not service the problem. I even asked to escalate the claim and they were glad to cancel my policy instead. Now I understand why the salesman on the phone kept pushing and offering discounts for me to pay the entire amount upfront, which I refused to do so I wouldn't lose too much money in case their service sucked, which it does! Very disappointed, I was hoping this would give me peace of mind.

The representative was nice and courteous and Kaylydsis Enterprises HVAC SERVICES was phenomenal and very knowledgeable. To which then you have to deal with the warranty company itself. They don't return calls. Threaten to cancel claims without resolution. They refuse to discuss resolution. They continue to evade requests for callbacks. When you call you sit on hold for no less than 10 minutes at a time. For months I have been dealing with this and they continue to take out the monthly payment while all of this has been going on. RUN. RUN FAR.

I'm very unhappy. My washing machine stopped working on a weekday and it took Select Home Warranty two days to get back to me after I filed a claim. It was two more days before a repairman called. (He was great, nice, and efficient.) He found that he needed a timer part, but said that the washer is old and that he couldn't get the part. He said he'd tell Select, and that they would find the part or decided what they would want to do and THEY would get back to me. Well, they didn't. Two days later, I called them. They acted like they knew nothing about him already being here (4 days earlier). I told them that I had found several websites that sold the part (in brand new condition).
They contacted the repairman who said he wouldn't front the money for the part, and NEITHER WOULD SELECT! They said I had to buy the part ($150), and call the man when once I had the part, so he could come and install it. (A week of shipping time.) They said, after I ordered and paid for the part, I was to email them a copy of my receipt, and they would email me back a "reimbursement form" (within 24-48 hours). I was to fill that out, email it back, and then "they would review it". Once reviewed, they would write a paper check 30 DAYS LATER, then mail that through the postal service. (Which would take over a week to get to me.) All that, for me to get my $150 back... and I have to be out my own money for 6 weeks!

Had a problem with my heater working properly. Now this is a new experience with us and SHW. At our previous residence we had another company for our warranty company. With this residence we decided to use SHW. To our good luck we have not had a reason to use them until now. I filed the claim online with my cell phone and awaited a response. I did a follow up concerning an HVAC service call need. During the call I found out I messed up while filing my claim. The customer service rep pointed this out and got me on the right track. Took a while, but the process was complete. There is a lot of paperwork that they ask for, but then get it done. This is slow, but then it's also thorough. I would suggest Select Home Warranty to ask for all the required documentation upfront, so there is less time required to process this.

My experience was pleasant enough. However I was slightly confused on process of how to make a report if necessary, which contractors I could use and if there was an additional charge for utilizing an outside contractor. The representative was kind but rushed through the sign up; I am assuming in fear of losing my attention and ultimately the sale. The explanation of how it all works can be completed better. Worst service ever. Fridge had issues on Jan 30. Opened a case. A vendor who knew nothing was sent who took 60$ and told that he's gonna order part and come back. My stove broke, they told me I can buy a new one and pay the difference approved. Then they say they deny it after I purchased the new stove. My contract clearly identifies my fridge icemaker is covered by the agreement. Select Home Warranty is refusing to fix it. I am being forced to file a Small Claims Court Case to hold Select has breached the contract. I am confident I will get a judgment of $7,500 against Select for failing to cover a $150 ice maker. It makes no sense, but that appears to be the choice of Select Home Warranty. Select Home Warranty is a scam! They are willing to take your premium payment, but then whenever any claim is asserted on the contract, they refuse to cover it regardless of what the contract indicates. Customer Service agents should be capable of effectively communicating in English; in this instance, Select Home Warranty fell well below any acceptable standard.

When you pay for a “Home Warranty” you expect to what the name implies. A warranty that covers your home and appliances should they break. After all the very definition of a warranty is “a written guarantee, issued to the purchaser of an article by its manufacturer, promising to repair or replace it if necessary”. I purchased a “warranty” through Select Home Warranty and paid over $600 for approximately 1 year of coverage of my home where my wife and 2 small children reside. I bought into the sales pitch of “Shield your wallet. Shield your home”. I thought I was purchasing peace of mind. What I was really purchasing though was a SCAM.
Recently my clothes washer started making a loud banging noise so I decided it was time to file a claim with Select Home Warranty (from here on out I’ll refer to SHW as “SCAM ARTISTS”). So I filed the claim and they sent out a technician to diagnose the problem. I paid the technician his $75 service fee and he submitted the information to the SCAM ARTISTS. Later that day I called THE SCAM ARTISTS to follow up with them and they indicated to me that they were giving me a $100 dollar credit towards the purchase of a new washing machine. WHAT?!?!
What is the point of having a warranty on your home and appliances if all they’re going to do is write it off as “broken”?! I could’ve told them that is was broken! So basically after paying the technician the $75, I ended up with a 25 bucks towards the purchase of a $900 dollar washing machine! If that’s not a scam I don’t know what is. Please please please do yourself a favor and do NOT ever do business with these SCAM ARTISTS! Select Home Warranty should be ashamed of themselves. For scamming good hard-working people out of their money. I’ll be getting a lawyer and blasting this company for the thieving scam artists they are. BUYER BEWARE!!! THIS IS A SCAM! I ended up with the annual fee for $432 with 2 add'l months and the freezer plus the $60 service call. I called in to Select warranties on 12th December about my washing machine. I waited a couple of days but I did not hear from their technician so I reached out to him and he came out on the 17th. I had to pay my service fee of $45. The gentleman told me that he would turn the paperwork in and that I can contact Select Home Warrwnty’s but he never did I called him on the 21st called him on the 27th the 24th the 26, 27th 30 , 31,Jan 2,3 and the 6th he still never turned the paperwork in. I called select warranties several times also and they tried to reach out to the gentleman but he never responded back. The representative told me on the third and the 6th to go ahead and hire your own technician and submit the receipt. We will reimburse you I submitted the receipt and now that I am following up for my $79 they refuse to give it back to me. I asked him to pull the recording but they refused. I spoke to three different people about this issue. This is the worst company to use when it comes to a warranty company. I even wrote down the dates and the times and I still could not get a supervisor to get on the phone to assist me do not use Select Home Warrwnty’s

I struggled with finding someone to come look at my water heater. After calling them, I was able to find my own and they worked with me. Electrical light/fan box is broken. He was a very nice, professional customer service representative. He really seemed to care about my problem. I asked a lot of questions, since this was the first time I've used the service, and he was patient and did not become frustrated when addressing my concerns. So far, so good, will update and tell you how everything went on the way home. Contractor got the call to fix the electrical problem, I was very pleased that within 30 minutes, I received a call from the contractor and we discussed the possible dates for service. I have never experienced such terrible service & buyer be aware. The very fine print needs to be carefully read before signing a contract with this company. My AC went out. I hired one of the approved Home Select service companies to come out and look at the unit. I paid them $60 out of pocket. They said the unit was not repairable. Select Home then asked me for three years service, maintenance records, etc. I provided everything. The most they said they would reimburse was $150. I was not happy; but was willing to accept. Even after I provided all the records I received the round around for over 3 months & never received any money. I tried again today (1/9/2020) & now they say my contract just ended; so they can't even consider the "old" claim from 2019 unless I purchase another new contract! Good money spent for nothing but a bunch of wasted time & aggravation.

HVAC covered under their Select Home Warranty garbage service. All policy contract guidelines were followed and no claims processed. Select Home Warranty routes all calls through Asia for their trained to apologize team, complaints go through New Jersey that touts to make it simple VIP service, only to get the same run around. Everyone there is a supervisor of how to get you to run around more and avoid processing claims.
I used the service provider they sent to assess repairs, Select Home Warranty asked for 3 years of maintenance records (BEWARE) of a house I've been in for 1 year before any claim would be processed, so I obliged contacting prior owner and provided with records dating back 4 years. They classified them as repair records that didn't meet their optional to enforce maintenance records request. If you want to make countless phone calls, several hoops to jump through, unpaid valid claims, then Select Home Warranty with one of their run you around Supervisors John ** is for you.

I called to make a claim that my Refrigerator unit was leaking. After they sent out a technician 4 days later with one of their companies they communicated that the lines just needed to be unclogged and cleaned. This did not work so we had to have the third party Refrigeration company come back out and evaluate that the whole fridge needed to be replaced.
Then I waited over two weeks before ever hearing from SHW. I called and they said they were waiting on the Refrigeration company. So I called the Refrigeration company and they said they were waiting on SHW. No one wanted to resolve the issue! Finally, I called SHW back (almost a month after the initial claim was submitted) and they sent me an offer of $185 to replace my refrigerator. What? $185? What am I supposed to buy with $185? The ice maker alone costs $180 to replace in that fridge. I read the terms and I know that they base the value of your appliance on the depreciated price of your unit. But they also say in 10.1 of their terms the amount of claim payout for appliances is up to $500. I asked for a manager and requested the full $500. They said they'd call me back. They never did so I called back. Then they said they'd review it and get back to me and they never did so I called back again.
This issue started on Oct 31 and it took me constantly pursuing them for over two months for them to say the only amount they will give me towards buying a new fridge is $185 firm. No exceptions. This is where I conclude; WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY! It would have been better to save the over $1,100 dollars I spent on this worthless warranty and then I'd have enough to buy a fridge myself! Poor customer service, unrealistic reimbursement valuations, and waste of coverage. There are better ways to spend your money people.

On Dec 23rd the heating AC fan motor stopped working, placed a call and was informed to go online and create a maintenance request. I explained it was an emergency. I was informed that it would take 2 to 3 days for one of their vendors to reach out to me and then for them to schedule an appointment to come out a look at the unit. Or the 2nd option would be to contact an outside vendor, pay the money up front and get reimbursed. Since this was an emergency and I did not want to wait until after the holidays I contacted my own vendor to do the work.
I did get in contact with a guy from the Escalations department and he informed me that he would take care of everything and that he would be my direct contact. Once the work was finished and paid for I sent the guy a copy of the invoice... It was over 700.00.. Days later after numerous attempts to see what was going on, I got an email stating I was going to get 150.00 not the amount of what I paid out. The guy finally reached out to me after the new year and pretty much told me too bad and then I was pretty much out of luck!.. I have now written to the BBB and filed a formal complaint on how poor this company really is. They even have issues with their own vendors who have issues getting paid by this company.... Warning I would stay very clear of this company. Once my contract expires which is not soon enough i am done with them completely.!!!

Although this company gets many good reviews please beware. Do not work with them. They give out false information, approve claims over the phone only to deny them when invoices are submitted for payment. They claim to record all calls but after repeated requests to pull recordings of calls to prove claims were approved they do not. Their contract states that you only need to pay a $60 service fee for covered repairs and all else is covered and then the refuse to pay labor although contract states nothing about labor not being covered.
I have had two claims under the warranty I purchased totaling over $1,000 and they are only paying $86.00. I have dealt with 4 customer service / claims people and 2 supervisors and one manager and they all quote different rules/ procedures and policies for submitting claims. Each time stating He or She that I spoke to previously doesn't know what they are doing or didn't have authorization to approve claims. It's a total run around. Have been working with them since 10.28.2019 to get claims paid and they say they will pay then when following up a month later say they won't pay, only to cal someone else who says they will pay out the claim. It's now Jan 6th 2020 and no reimbursement issued.

Have a two story house. Have a leak upstairs that is causing damage to floor below. Have leak in wall, leaking down to bottom floor. Bought a home warranty from Select Home Warranty. All I got was the run around. Would not repair or replace my refrigerator, or my dishwasher when the stopped working. They advertise that they will repair or replace. All I was offered was the $150.00 that I paid the tech. that came out to diagnose the problem, and I still have not seen that money. Do not do business with this company!

Updated on I have been an customer since December of 2019. I think I have received a good value for the service and customer service has been very good. I recently had a claim for a garage door opener that will not operate as of May 2020. I made this claim on line and the Vendor scheduled with me an appointment within 24 hours. I had the issue start on May 1, submitted the claim on May 5, scheduled the appointment on May 6, and the technician appeared on May 8th. The claim process was okay and the approval was given on May 11. The assessment was to replace the unit rather than repair. I have the technician coming back on May 15th to complete the job.
My issue is that the claim requested states the problem started on March 1 so the claim pay was calculated based on within 3 months or only $150 rather than $400 which will cover the cost after my service fee. This is not accurate as I have not had the issue for 2 months but only 2 weeks. I called customer service to explain this and they are going to resubmit the claim for the higher amount which makes reasonable sense. If Select Home Warranty doesn't correct this oversight or entry error I will still be satisfied with them overall but unhappy with this decision.

The staff make stuff up about claims and why they are denied, like my claim for a hot water heater, you claim my heater HVAC system is not cover for this item, this part and system isn't even the system you denied! Like I said your staff are a laughing joke now again! At least some are close to the diagnosis and get part of the stuff correct, this team on duty at the holidays need to be fired!

Richard answered all my questions and was able to recommend a three year policy with an additional six months free. Our home's furnace stopped functioning on Christmas Eve, Dec 24th of 2019. We awoke on Christmas Morning to a home that was around 55 degrees, and put in a claim with Select Home Warranty immediately. We expected a slight delay, as we understand most businesses would not be running at 100% on Christmas Day. Select Home Warranty took two days to even confirm that they received our claim. They then told us that all of their technicians were unavailable, but could not give us a date when they would be able to send someone out. Customer service recommended that we find our own contractor, have that contractor call the SHW customer service line, and read off our furnace's diagnosis.
We did that, and were told that we would receive a determination as to whether the fix would be covered within 48 hours. We never heard back in that 48 hours, so I called again. This time, the customer service rep asked me to send an EMAIL with the diagnosis. Which I did immediately. 24 hours later, we received a response email, asking us to submit pictures of our heating unit. I sent the requested photos MOMENTS after I received the request. I then got a response email saying that it would take up to 48 hours to review the photos!
I then called the service number, and they gave me great news. The photos were already under review! Followed by bad news - looking at these photos would also take up to 48 hours! Thus far, I have been without heat in my home from Christmas Eve through today, December 30th. And what's worse, I STILL DON'T EVEN KNOW IF THIS SIMPLE, ONE PART REPAIR IS GOING TO BE COVERED BY OUR HOME WARRANTY!

I thought I had coverage for septic pumping however I didn’t. Good thing is they offer additional coverage for that!!!! Next year I will purchase that coverage in order to avoid the costly hit it takes to pump out one's septic tank.
