Richard ** Did a wonderful job explaining the benefits & features of the Select Home Warranty plan I chose. I would appreciate him getting 5 Star credit for his interaction with me AND I will definitely be in the market for another plan within the next 6 months as I work towards the purchase of a new home. Unfortunately, in the emailed document or contract I was forwarded, I could not locate the order number. Please do NOT let this be an obstacle in giving Richard full credit for the sale transaction!

When buying a home, there are so many things to do and take care of, one of them shopping around for home warranty. Selecting the right contract with Select Home Warranty was easy, flexible (as we are not sure of the closing date yet) and on top I got a discount for being a teacher.

It was great customer service and very helpful. I was able to get all my questions answered and if I didn’t know something he would just say, "That’s alright. I can still help you," and that made me feel better about the process. It was no hassle at all making the claim on the phone. Just wish the dispatch be a little quicker in sending someone out.

My husband was very pleased with the customer service representative who addressed our first claim call to your company. He was very courteous, and easy to understand. He reassured us that he would dispatch a service tech as soon as possible and we should watch our email for a follow up or for a response from the technician.

Have an issue with electrical panel and breakers, Electrician said this was a fire hazard. Said panel behind breakers could overheat, spark and become a fire issue. He told us it needs to be addressed before it becomes a major issue. My wife and I have decided this is a problem that needs to be taken care of now.

I submitted a claim about my pool heater. Independent contractor came and recommend a repair or replaced. Select Warranty denied the claim due to HVAC system electrical failures. Pool heater is not same as HVAC system. It is obvious that the resolution team doesn't read the independent contractor diagnose. The customer service have no other ways but refuse to cover my claim. It is an error in their part of denying a different system. Select company trying very hard to tell me it is electrical failure while there is no POOL HEAter word in that denial claim. NEED help to spread the word that Select Home warranty will be their worst decision to make if they sign up for contract. Please NO. Sharing this experience. I can be of help to anyone in getting the best buck for their money.

I had not received any paperwork after enrolling in your plan.. I called the main number and was connected to a young man named Mark.. He was courteous, helpful and efficient. I will recommend you service to friends.. Thank you for this product. It will give me great peace of mind to know this is backing up my home.

The repairman called me 10 days later to see if the issue was resolved and I told him I had emailed the requested pictures and that I had heard nothing from SHW. He called them and was told the oven can not be fixed and they will be sending me a buyout check. It is March 14, 2020 and I have heard nothing from SHW. I have to give SHW 1 star because they did respond to my initial claim and their choice of appliance repairman 5 star= average 3 stars

My request from Select was handled quickly. But the company choose was over 1hr 30 late for the appointment time. and did not contact me to let know they going to be late. Select had also quoted me a $60 fee but I had to pay $75 fee. Also did tell me a balance was due to order part until I called the Company. If I have another claim I would like to be to choose my own contractor.

We called the customer service hotline at 8am to make a claim because our fridge suddenly stopped working. Within 15 minutes, they managed to find the appliance repair service company to assess the issue and I managed to book an appointment for the next day in the morning. The service man found that my compressor is not spoiled. Now is still pending the follow up review from Select Home Warranty. Overall, the lead time so far has been fast. Hope they will fix/replace my fridge soon.

Thank you for helping out with my AC unit, we really appreciate it. We had a hard time finding a technician to help us fix our unit but Select Home beared with us and made it happen. We were able to go through the winter in a cozy home. I would recommend them to my friends and family as I have not found a service as good as there's anywhere else.

Tom was very helpful and gave me all the options to save money. I liked the different plan options and pay options. $$$ saved are good on anything and hope when and if needed, the service I did not get from a competitor. Home service is as good as the salesman.

I had another warranty service and switching to Select has been a good choice so far. The sales rep was a bit pushy to commit to 2-3 years but other than that I'm happy. The value for the service seems good. Only time will tell but I'm excited going in.

The website is easy to use and explains things thoroughly, when I called the agent to confirm the order is was friendly and polite, he offered several special deals and remained polite when I did not accept the offers, he was not pushy with the offers. I am happy with the pricing and coverage, the thing that remains to be seen is how I am helped if I have a claim.

Ray ** called me almost immediately after I submitted a quote. Ray was very professional, knowledgeable and extremely kind. He explained the policy in detailed, as well as a lot of discounts. He compared my previous company with Select Home Warranty. I appreciate his attention to the details. He provided various options and helped to relieve my inhibitions.

Rejected claims. I'm sure I'm not the only customer with which you are failing to honor your claims responsibility. Your rating on BBB is indicative of consistent abusive behavior. For me, this is beyond "suspicious practices"... I have personal confirmation of your claims denials and business practices. I am giving you 7 days to repair the open items prior to reporting this activity to BBB and the NJ Attorney General's office.

I filed a claim on my a/c unit. The first person sent out did not return or return my calls. They sent a second person out for which I had to pay again and then, after they said I would be reimbursed for this second visit, had to fight to get them to live up to their word. They requested 3 years of prior service documents and refused to accept what I had provided. After numerous calls and lots of time, they agreed to give me $300. The new unit cost $3400. After I received the $300 check, I pondered the thought of continuing this policy for the remaining 2 years. I decided to cancel this policy. I received a call from the regional manager who indicated I would get back $678 and would receive the check in the mail. The check I received was for $238.02. I called this manager back and he stated they deducted the $300 they did pay on my claim. Still fighting to get the remaining monies back!

I called the claim in on Sunday, someone came out on Tuesday, they gave SHW the diagnosis on Tuesday. I called back on Wednesday, and SHW said they were waiting on approval to allow the contractor to do the repairs. They were told what the diagnosis was on Tuesday, and they said it is a 24 to 48 hour turnaround for approval. Well, today is Thursday, and they are still telling me it is a 24 to 48 hour turnaround and they are still waiting on approval from the approval dept. I thought if it needed repair, that was the approval. Also, if the appliances could not be repaired, I would have to buy my appliances and be reimbursed in 30 days. Also, it could not go over $500.00. Where can you buy a washer and dryer for $500.00 new. Guess I should have read the contract better. You can only guess what I am going to do after this repair is complete.

Bad service. Take too long to process the claim. I cancelled their service after they waste my time and find a Reason. You refuse to pay the bill. It was a waste of time and money. I will not recommend their service or their warranty for anybody.

Called and had someone answer almost immediately. The customer service representative was helpful and polite. Once they gather my info the contractor sends me an email or text message setting up a time to inspect our damaged appliance. Satisfied with experience. Would recommend Select Home Warranty for future home buyers.

The salesperson was very polite and informative. Excellent value for the monies paid. In addition I received an additional two months onto the contract. The process to receive services sounded very easy and received a very good one time service charge. Have not had a chance to review the service the service that will be provided. My warranty advisor walked me through the enrollment process step by step. He found all available discounts I was entitled which lowered my premium and service call fees. The advisor was not pushy and very professional. Considering the coverage I have now, vs the coverage with my prior warranty company, I have much better protection for all aspects of my home, and for a significantly less premium. So far, off to a great experience with Select.

Toilet will not flush properly at all times and sometimes will not refill. There is also a leak on the bottom of the tank. Was told I would be assigned a work order and contact information within 48 hours. I couldn't ask for better service. I had used another company in the past and each claim was a hassle to get completed. I switched to Select Home Warranty and have never had a problem with a claim to date! Looking forward to the next email with the company and contact point. If all SHW claims are handled this proficient then I will be a customer for life!!!

Isaac was very helpful and worked with me to get the best rates. He check for additional discounts like veteran and senior. He was able to answer my questions about the coverage. I will review the contract and make sure it works for my situation. From what we discussed it covers plumbing from the house to the road also.

I was very pleased with how quickly the response time was after I submitted my claim. The technician arrived on time and knew exactly what to do once he arrived. My ice maker did not need to be replaced and has been working perfectly since ever since. I was also very impressed with the courteousness of the people I had contact with on the phone at Select Home Warranty during this process.

We called in since our water heater broke and needed help. The tech on the phone seemed very helpful and said he would expedite our case since it was dealing with gas. I’m waiting for the call from the repair company. The customer service rep said it will take between 24 and 48 hours but he said we should expect something sooner.

Impressive professional and nice gentleman, too. Also the rep who got me signed up for SELECT, George, was extremely nice. I would recommend SELECT to everyone.

Claim was taken care with a contractor in less than 2 days. Contractor was very informative. Found the problem right away. Sent in the claim to the company on the same day. The company got back to me next day. Contractor has kept me informed every step of the way.

I expected more out of Select Home Warranty. They were not very forthcoming in helping me replace items that were supposed to be reimbursed. I had a dishwasher and hot water heater that had to be replaced and I only received a measly 300 for these items. I had to pay out of pocket.

For some reason every client is denied some service for reasons not listed. Pay for the contract but never get claims paid in full!; mostly no claim is ever fully approved. All they do is write up the claim but no authorization was ever approved. Read your contract. Nothing is approved in full ever; they offer 150$ maximum payment to every single client! They are cheats and crooks.

I was with a different home warranty company. I was only with them for a few months. I had to make a claim and all I got was some moron they sent out that didn't know anything about what he was doing. I complained and got nowhere with the company. After they failed to send someone out again I finally had enough and canceled their service. I contacted Select Home Warranty and learned they were about the same price and gave the same coverage. So far no complaints. Very happy.

Was told when I purchase the warranty that both my AC and Heating for my dual zone home were covered. Upon reviewing the contract sent, only my primary was covered. Contacted customer support and they fix the issue covering my second AC and heating as the same cost. Also for pool and spa, heat pumps are not covered after being told my heating system are included. Would suggest exclusion be give upfront to customer before taking payment.

The representative, Bruce **, was fantastic. Bruce has a clear understanding of the available programs and is able to communicate the options clearly and with patience. He is extremely pleasant and has excellent customer service skills. Bruce was able to waive the waiting period as we were near the contract end date of our previous policy. We decided to purchase a multi-year plan.

We've only had to place one claim with Select Home Warranty. We needed a furnace repair. The customer service was good. The repair was completed quickly and to our satisfaction. The service call price is reasonable, and the warranty coverage is good. Good value for your money. Brings peace of mind knowing that the big items in your home are covered.

My oven went out the day I was having a wedding at my house. I contacted SHW and received a prompt response, asking me to call and give them a little more info. I called and the rep that helped me was very friendly and knowledgeable. She asked me all of the information that she needed to process my claim, and I was contacted by SHW within 24 hours to inform me as to where my claim was at this time. I am confident that they will be prompt and thorough in settling my claim.

I was under the impression that my warranty had expired some months ago, but the agent reminded me that the warranty is valid until May of 2020 due to 10 free months. I will continue to use the service to help with my home repairs and will be sure to recommend to friends who may need such warranty.

I had already purchased a service contract and was pretty happy with it but Jeff called on Sunday and made an even better offer that I couldn’t pass on. He was very professional and knowledgeable about your services and programs. I asked if I could consult with my wife and he agreed and gave me his dedicated line and extension. My wife and I talked and I did call Jeff back and purchased the better contract. We are now covered for six years and don’t have to worry for quite a while about our home appliances and systems. Ordering my SHW policy took only a few clicks. After speaking with a customer service rep who verified my application, I received my new policy which listed my coverage and explained claim processes and showed me what I needed to do to file a claim should the need ever arise.

I currently have a policy with another company. But I thought a change was in order. You are rated A+ and rates seem fair. I ordered your policy online today, and was going with the monthly program. A short time later I received a call from Select and am happy I did. The Rep. was able to save me money and give me two months Free....I am a happy camper. Way to go Select. Thanks.

Updated on 5/29/2020: It was my first time calling to file a claim. The person was helpful and very thorough. He made sure I had everything I needed and he seem generally concerned about my issue. I would definitely recommend to others. The contractor reached out to us immediately to schedule a service call at our earliest convenience. The process was made easy.
Original review: Salespeople are too pushy. I signed up but almost cancelled because of the salespeople. They have filled my email with junk mail and they called me multiple times to get me to sign up. The price was much better than some others companies I reviewed. Get value but ok service.

The rep was polite and assisted me quickly and accurately while I was on a 15 minute break at work. He made me aware of discounts and coupons providing me a great price and deductible. He was able to take my payment right then so I didn't have to worry about following up to make any payments.

I’ve been told my contract does cover coil leaks, then claims tells me it does not. My contract says it does. I’m very dissatisfied and DO READ THE CONTRACT TO SEE FREON AND MAIN ITEMS ARE NOT COVERED, SO WHAT ARE WE PAYING ALL THIS MONEY FOR? I purchased 2 warranties for 2 homes and the older home began to have some issues just after the purchase of this warranty however I had another warranty company and they only used one contractor so I switched, I wish I had never switched, claims takes longer than expected and I have emails to call them back but it’s not denied in writing, what’s up with that???? Hmmm.

The company kept took a lot of time to finish the project. The service the individual spent over 30 minutes with the adjuster seems like there were a lot of questions asked about the project that were very unnecessary. Overall though we did get the project finished. I felt it this should have gone a little sooner.

Salesmen were rather pushy. They wanted to rush everything. They made me feel that they did not have time to spend with me and rushed me whenever I had questions. I did not care for that. I mentioned that to them, but they said that wasn't the case. They answered my questions.

I’ve had the worst experience as a customer. My claim has been open since the last week of January. Everyone that I talk to says they are going to do something and they don’t. I had a contractor that y’all sent to me and he was taking bad about the company and said that he deals with 5 warranty companies and he said y’all are the worst out of the 5. The contractor kept ignoring my calls and hanging up on me when I called. Select tried to contact the contractor at 828-218-5844 and he wouldn’t answer their call so I was told that he would dispatch it to someone else. He said that the process would start all over and I told him I’m not going to pay another 60.00 for someone else to come out. He said since it’s being transferred I wouldn’t have to.
I called 2 days later and still no one has contacted me about sending another contractor to my home. I called yesterday and Select said the other guy I spoke to didn’t notate the account. I’m still waiting and this is going on for 2 months almost. Every time I ask to speak to a supervisor I’m told there’s not one available. I would like someone to call me before I contact Better Business Bureau and before I write a review. **.

My furnace went out when it was 13 degrees outside so I called Select Home Warranty (SHW) to ask for the appropriate procedure. They informed me that I would qualify for the reimbursement where the only thing I would be responsible for is the service fee. I got approval over the phone and scheduled the appointment. The tech came out and repaired my furnace and gave me the bill. I called SHW while he was still at my house so that a manager could talk to the tech per SHW request. After the SHW manager asked a few questions to the tech, they instructed the tech to give me the bill, I would pay it, then scan the bill and attach it to the online claim form. I followed all of those steps and to my surprise about a week later they approved a reimbursement of roughly half of the originally approved amount.
After I called to inquire, they informed me since I did not have have maintenance records of the existing HVAC system that was in the house when I bought it the year prior. After I accepted what I could not change in the reimbursable amount, I awaited the reimbursement amount. It has since been over 30 days and I have not received anything. Finally, I called back and they informed me they had not yet sent the email to me that I needed to receive to accept the stated amount. After my policy runs out, I will not be renewing. I was talked into renewing once by the salesman who I believe had good intentions, but was poorly informed. My experience with this company has been poor at best. I hope everyone else has much better luck and I am a black sheep.

My dryer stopped heating, so claim was filed. I paid the technician, who came out and said the heating element was bad. After that the technician disappeared. I called SHW to find out what was going on and they could not contact the tech either so a new dispatch was sent. They decided to dispatch the same company that just disappeared. I'm now several weeks without a dryer and 3 boys at home. Numerous call to SHW having the same conversation over and over, asked for a supervisor, had to call the following day because supervisor never called and now again I'm waiting 24-48 hours for a technician, who knows how long for a diagnosis and the heating element to be ordered. What a pain, would have just taken care of myself had know this would be so challenging to communicate.

We, unfortunately, purchased a 3 year warranty for two of our homes. We made our first claim 3 weeks ago, to have a dryer repaired. We waited for one week for a technician to come out to the property. We had to pay them a diagnostic fee. Then we were told to wait for a diagnosis. Then another "technician" came out to diagnose. We have now been waiting for 3 weeks for the dryer to be repaired. Select Home Warranty says that they are waiting for the diagnosis. Once they receive the diagnosis, they say it will be sent to their Approvals department. Once this department approves it, they say they will get back to the same technician and tell them they can fix it.... We HOPE!
The call center agents are very polite and have all the right, frustrating, words to say, but nothing gets done. And they do everything they can to avoid having you speak to a supervisor. Right now they are offering me the option to find my own technician, pay him myself, and they will reimburse me - in HOW LONG? So MAYBE we'll get the dryer fixed in 4 weeks??? This is not the 24-48 hour service that we were promised when we purchased this Warranty. Do not purchase a Select Home Warranty. We're going to try to have ours cancelled. No one has this much time to call, wait on hold, call again, wait on hold, stay home to have technicians diagnose, stay at home to have technicians diagnose again, and wait for 4 weeks to POSSIBLY have a dryer repaired!

I filed a claim for my over the range microwave that stopped working. I was unable to place the service call online, and had to call in this claim because I never received my policy number. Once the claim was filed, I did not hear back from a representative for almost a week. I then called them, only to be advised that I would not be able to have a technician come out and that I would be given information for $95 only and that it does not cover installation. I then asked for documentation of this and later had to call again asking for the information. I do not feel that this is good service, and it would’ve been nice to receive a call advising the reason for this instead of having to call multiple times to get this rectified.

My sump pump stopped working and everything is wet and very musty. Needing it repaired and water/any damage cleaned up. Haven't slept yet, trying to keep a battery back pump going to keep any further water from coming in. Home warranty claim for plumbing. Claims and dispatch departments were great! Got fast service and was notified by text every step of the way. Only thing I was not happy with was that the leak was in the wall and getting to the leak was not covered so now we have to cut into the Sheetrock before the plumber can do his part, then we’ll have to patch it ourselves.

First couldn’t understand the person on the phone. Second our water heater took a crap and from my understanding most water heaters go out with leaking and guess what, they don’t cover it. I have talked to people that worked with this company and found out they are horrible to work with even for their contractors. Hmmm so you pay every month and they will look for any reason to deny your claim.

Even had my a/c Freon replaced, but it continues to leak a couple years later, units need to be replaced. Not ethical to keep filling a leaking system with harmful refrigerants that keep leaking into environment.

They said I would have to replace my garbage disposal and will credit me with $75 but that will not cover the cost of labor. I will contact them. They outsource all calls to the Philippines. Hard to get a local repair person so if Select cannot find one locally the client will have to call someone, pay them and then get reimbursed--which can be a burden to the client.

We called to have a tech come out when the upright freezer stopped working. They sent a tech almost immediately. The tech was quick in doing his inspection, found the problem quickly and was done. I really had a good experience with Steven's customer service, very polite and he answer all my questions and took his time to give me information in details. He was able to convince me on a great warranty offer so good I couldn't say no and I really wasn't looking to buy home warranty. I have had different home warranties but Select has the best deals and with great coverage, I was able to save about $300 per year and $30 per service call fee. Apparently company pays only for broken details, but not for actual work for appliance to be fixed. When I asked multiple times (4 times in my phone conversations with the agents) about policy document that outline this point... they said, "You should receive it from 24-48 hours..." and I received nothing... They say, "Check your SPAM..." how convenient :)... I received other notifications, but not with the policy. Also processing time for the check for them to pay you takes 30 days :)... Awful experience.

I reached out to Select Home Warranty to get a quote for my home that I was selling. I of course did not want to spend a lot of money, but wanted to ensure that it was a quality plan that was worth the expense and would also be of value to the new homeowners. Called and they were very nice and helpful. Total time to place a new claim was less than 5 minutes. I will patiently wait on my claim to be processed and the repair to be completed. I have used this company for a few years now and have not had an issue.

They were really helpful and able to get me the help I needed. My septic tank is not working and it is smelling and running out so I told them about the problem. They told me it was covered for my septic tank so they will send the dispatch the information. Very helpful and affordable.

Had the call on 2/25/2020 and it did not go well, but on 2/26/2020 the representative was very helpful. I was not told initially that having an ice maker would be an add-on which I was initially upset about; however the call today was very pleasant and the person was very polite.

We had a very small leak that started and wasn't getting any better so SHW sent out a terrific company (Plumb Rite) and they took great care of us. It turned out to be something easily fixed. I am so grateful I decided last year to purchase my policy. I had no idea I would be unemployed and if this had been something more serious it could've really been disastrous. I also want to say, unlike most businesses they had excellent communication and customer service on both sides. Thanks guys!

My prior home owners warranty company didn’t come close to all that Select offered at a lower rate. They offer discounts and cover your roof free of charge. That’s a big plus. I thought home warranty was supposed to take the stress off of the homeowner. This has been a nightmare and in no way has it saved me money. I had a small leak in a pipe in my basement that lead up to the guest bath sink. First after filing the claim I had to wait 48 hrs for a response. They told me they had a plumber to call and after reaching him I had to wait another 48 hrs for him to come out.
His first visit was him looking at the area for a second and saying I needed access to the pipe and he didn't do that. We paid him $60 and he was gone. SHW then told me per my policy I had to provide access for the plumber. News to me since everyone in the industry I had to call to try to get this resolved told me the plumbers always provide access to the pipes.
Anyways, I called leak detection, water mitigation, and contractors to try to get access to the pipes. Contractor finally came and told us to rip up our stairs, which wasn't reliable since they are sealed, then he cut out a part of the ceiling in our basement bathroom where he saw a pipe leaking. We then called SHW to let them know after 2 weeks of headache we finally had access. They had me call the plumber again who came out another 4 days later to tell me that he still didn't have access to the pipe and that we needed to have his mitigation company rip out walls. Then he could fix the leak. We didn't agree with this. He also asked that we pay him another $55 for him coming out again. I told him no since it was one claim one service call. He had to take that up with SHW.
He called me to say they wouldn't pay and that if he had to come out again he would demand payment for his time. I let SHW know this. They allowed me to call my own plumber and agreed to do a reimbursement since I had all these issues. Cool. Called a plumber who came out the next day (Saturday) and found the pinhole leak in the pipe that is in our basement and leads to our upstairs bathroom sink. I had him call in to the authorization team (there is a dept for every step of the process) to give his diagnosis and get approval for his repairs. They never once said to him or to me that this was not going to be a covered repair. They verified with him everything and then spoke to me to let me know he would return on Tuesday morning to fix the leak and then I could submit my invoice for reimbursement. I thought that was it and the rest of the process would be simple.
On Tuesday morning when the plumber was coming to fix the leak is when I get an email saying the claim was denied because SHW sees this repair as not the plumbing system but a plumbing fixture. What? He repaired a copper pipe in my basement, not the bathroom faucet. They said since the pipe leads to the mainline of the faucet they consider that as part of the fixture. The plumber did install new water lines under the sink as a courtesy but he cut out a section of pipe in our basement plumbing system. I tried to argue this but they just told me to read my policy. Of course I didn't see this email until I had already paid the plumber.
Convenient how they sent the denial at the exact time the repair is being done. Couldn't email or call me prior to his scheduled date to let me know so that I could try something else. Unacceptable. They also said I needed to read my policy and that there is a rider to cover fixtures but I didn't purchase it. I was never told of this and I thought since I bought the best plan that they had, then everything with plumbing was taken care of. That is the only reason I bought the best plan in the first place.
Now I've wasted my time and money. Paid their inadequate tech, paid them monthly for 6 months now, and had to go through this whole process for over a month just to get a small leak fixed that could've been taken care of in a few days and for less than what I've spent using them. Not to mention I have a stair that needs to be repaired and a hole in my ceiling that has to be fixed all because their tech couldn't access the leak. The other plumber had no issues. I am livid. I am not satisfied at all. The lack of communication between their departments makes the whole process move slowly and the homeowner gets no support. They need to integrate their systems so that everyone can see the notes and help the client more efficiently. Worst experience of my life to get a small leak fixed.

Explain the plan and coverage, deductibles and the contract along with discounts in regards to senior discounts and locked in pricing. Would recommend this company to my family and friends. I expected to spend about $600 annually for a home warranty comparable to the one George ** offered me. He initially offered $450 annually but then continued piling on the savings by informing me at could get it at $350 annually with 1 year free if I went with the 5 year option; being me down to $292 annually. After a very unsatisfying experience with my previous home warranty company I was looking for information on alternatives. Consumer Advocates listed Select as the best value and they are a Consumer Affairs "authorized brand". Jonathan ** was my CSR and he 'sold' me on the company; we quickly and painlessly completed the transaction. Home warranties are one of those things you buy yet hope you never have to use. Having the right one, however, is so important in the event you have to make a claim.

Select Home Warranty sent repairman Joe (Manny Appliance Repair) who came out asap and determined what was wrong. Compressor for Kitchen Aid no longer available. Need to buy new refrigerator which I already ordered. I now need to know what Select Home Warranty will reimburse me. Cost for new refrigerator is: $8533.80. The compressor part was quoted as $562.33. Total job to install and repair would be $1172.87 minus $45. Service call is $1127.87. Hope to hear from Select soon.

Hot water heater not producing any hot water. Heater is approximately 10 years old or older. I have checked all switches and breakers. The unit is located outside the house in a "Closet" on the side of the house behind a access panel.

This was my 3rd attempt to file a claim with SHW, & it took 3 weeks, w/ over a dozen calls, to get a response. They wanted me to wait 2 weeks to get my furnace fixed and I live in MN. It was -25 below wind chill the that week. I don't think so. I called when the technician I had hired was here, never got through, the invoice wasn't good enough, after 2 weeks, then they wanted paperwork going back 3 year. The 17-page contract full of all the fine print crap that gets them out of covering anything, you don't get until AFTER you sign.
They never call back, they only write, they lose information all the time. I can never speak to a manager, they are always on break. Isn't that odd? But they always say they will have them call me, I can trust them. THEY mean it, not like the last person. "I will give you my name, if you have any issues, you can ask for me." Like that does any good. NOW - I feel like I'm dealing with the Prince of Nigeria,...and he has a million dollars for me, if I would just sign up for this annual package...and I did. Dumb. Grrrr!!!! Don't do it people!!

I always have home warranty plan. For years I had a plan with 2-10, than with Choice and now this is my first time i decided to try SHW. Generally I am really unhappy with SHW. And after my contract will expire I do not plan to renew it for a new term and I will go back to CHW. CHW has better coverage, easier online communication and better customer service.

I was shopping around for a new warranty plan and I wasn't sure which company to choose. I searched for the best home warranty company and Select showed up as #3 on the list. The 1st two companies failed to display their plans and that's where they lost me. Select has the most affordable plans available out of 3 companies I called. They offered a lot of system and appliance coverages that I felt I should have and need. They also gave me to extra months of coverage as a new member. My Representative was great explaining and answering my questions.

A plumber will contact me shortly about scheduling an appointment to come to my home to fix the toilet. The toilet is leaking. I am hoping this will be resolved within the next few days.

I am happy with it so far. I started this plan back in September. We haven't had to use it much. The systems in our house are not that old so we rarely get things that break down or require service. We may continue it and renew it if the price stays affordable for us. It will renew next September.

Great service professional and knowledgeable. Asked a few questions and he answered them. Requested ice machine to be covered and he did it. Was going with another company but service guys called and told me a great deal and added over 3 years of service. Hope it lives up to what they told me.
