We just join but have not made a claim or used the service as of yet because we don’t have any issues at this time. Customer care was helpful and explained everything very well. We signed up and willing to give them a try. We got our emails extremely prompt. It takes 30 days to get coverage in effect. I am changing companies and did not realize this requirement.

Refrigerator repair. On time, good service even though the led burnt out light not covered, too bad. Did take you a little more time than expected to inform me that burnt out led lights/module not covered. I fully expected that you would cover part of the service call but not all of it. Shame too, your sales people rave about your quality of service. Guess I found out what to expect if I ever have to use you all again.

Customer service was prompt to answer the call. Offered a deal right away. Correction... After I mentioned a coupon - I was offered a good deal. LOL. So far so good. Only bought warranty to help sell a home. To my knowledge it worked offering this warranty. I like the 14 months of coverage.

Jeff ** was great to deal with. He was courteous and spent all the time required for me to understand the policy. Great to deal with. He answered all of my questions and even added items that led to discounts that I did not expect. While I hope that I will not have to make a claim, I am convinced that if I do that Select Home Warranty will be there for me.

The person (Isaac) I had spoken, have been very friendly, he was nice, detailed, gave all important details regarding the policy. I had called just to get a quote info. But due to his customer care professionalism I ended up buying contract not just for a year but for 6 years. I'm looking forward to have my coverage experience will be the same -

I called to get help with a broken ceiling fan. The man that helped me was very knowledgeable and did treated me very well. He explained the process and helped me through it it to best serve my needs. It was well planned out and they kept me in the loop throughout the process. Needs to be replaced or fixed. You decided to just replace it which we did. You gave us the amount of a new one which was fine. !!!! It all worked out fine and am very pleased. Not much else to say.

CSR answered all my questions in a very friendly matter. He explained all the discounts that were available by ordering today. I was very pleased with the experience and will tell others looking for this service about how well I was treated. As of now I would gladly recommend this company to my friends and family.

Everything went ok with the call. I asked for a quote and it was provided. I had a few more questions and the representative answered them with no problems. He also stated that I would receive everything by email within a few minutes and by the time he and I hung up and I logged into my account the email was there as he stated. I got the opportunity to read over the policies and procedures to get a better understanding of the platinum package and how it works.

Great service from Ray **. Very helpful and professional. Pleased with all the items that are covered and also very pleased with the fee per service call. Time will tell, of course have not used the service yet but initial impressions are certainly much more favorable than company I am replacing.

Answered my questions and provided me with the best home warranty option to fit my needs. If you plan to stay in your home for at least 5 years are able to afford the five-year plan, it's the best deal. No worries about premiums rising each year and having to shop around.

I choose Select Home Warranty due to the comprehensive coverage they provided at a very reasonable price. I have dealt with several of the other companies and was not satisfied. Select Home Warranty enjoys outstanding ratings from satisfied customers. I like that I can use the company of my choice to do any repairs.

The unit is running outside and inside but the house is not cooling. I have checked everything and have no idea why it's not working. I placed a service call at 7am. I received an e-mail acknowledgement and a text to select dates and times for repair within 4 hours of my claim. That was fast.

The person I spoke to ensured we got eligible discounts to save us the most. I am a COVID-19 patient and he was extremely patient and compassionate. Original Review: After finding out my home warranty rate with a competitor was about to increase significantly, I started researching other options. As soon as I put in my info for a quote, a representative from Select called me and it was a done deal. For the coverage and service they offer, Select is a great value for any homeowner.

My complaint is a truth and really more "transparency" in advertising with Select Home Warranty. Throughout there whole policy and advertising they claim that you can file a claim after 30 days of signing up. Here is the excerpt from the website: "Our home warranty policies have a 30 day wait period." My thermostat stopped working after about 45 or so days after I started the policy and a service technician came out after I paid the $75 fee. The tech informed me that a part needed to be replaced. The Tech called me the next day and informed me that SHW will not cover the replacemnt part.
When I called to find out why, all of a sudden they told me to read the fine print... Stating that my item can be repaired but they do not cover 'replacements' parts until after the policy was active for 60 days so I'm out of luck. The company advertise 30 day wait period but please read fine print as they will definitely tell you when it's time to get your item fixed. False advertisement on Select Warranty's part. I will be cancelling my warranty.

Left multiple voicemail for the A/C repair company but unable to set up appt.for the repair. I called back the operator wiill dispatch a different company for me to call set up a appt. for the repair job in 48 hours. The customer rep. was extremely courteous, helpful. Cool Baby Air the initial tech. called. Explained unable to come because he just had heart surgery 2 weeks ago. Do not have any other tech. to cover the claim. He did go over some of the potential problems can cause the air conditioner unit to not blowing cool air. He did offer advices and consultations if needed in the follow up for the repair job.

We called at 9:30 at night and we asked someone to help us with a leaking bathtub, and a faucet that doesn't have running water. They were quick to make the claim, and let us know that a plumber would be out to help us soon. I'm hoping they will be able to resolve our problem quickly.

Only reviewing on finding the right coverage and the sign-up process: I don't really know much about purchasing home warranty. Looking through the plans of Select Home and a few other home warranty companies, Ben ** was able to find me the plan with the most comprehensive coverage of the company with discounts that lowered the cost comparable to the cost of the cheapest plan of select home and other home warranty companies with equally low deductibles as well.

Knowledgeable advisor, called to find out why my payment were not being processed. I informed advisor that my payment method had not changed. At which he pulled up my account. He asked if what I had on file when sharing the information was accurate and I replied to the affirmative. He asked to process to I gave the permission to do so and it went through.

So the only way I could get the free month was if I wrote 50 words in this box. I have Select Home Warranty on my home in Carrollton Texas. I took this policy out for my home rental home in Missouri the price is very good. I have not used them yet on my house in Texas but for the price in the service call fee for what they say they cover and the for these limits they say they cover on the premium plan total limits $11,000 I'm good with that for the price.

After moving into a new house, we didn't know how old systems or appliances were so I decided to find out about a home warranty. I did a quick review online of top warranty companies. I decided to call Select Home Warranty. Mr. Fred ** answered my call. Mr. ** answered my questions and was very helpful. Fortunately, We have not had to file a claim but Mr. ** not only helped me a year ago when I originally called and again this year when I renewed my policy.

Problem with washing machine. Select was able to provide a technician despite the lockdown due to Coronavirus. Fortunately I was able to get the machine to work and cancelled the claim. My claim was cancelled promptly without any problems. I appreciated the prompt service as well as the friendly customer service and would certainly recommend Select Home Warranty to a friend.

The claim that I had was for my guest bedroom ceiling fan. Speaking with the service rep at Select Home Warranty helped me get exactly what I was looking for. My CS rep. He was wonderful!!!! Excellent! I had a problem with my renewal not being done 3/12 per a phone call. He took care of it. My policy will not have a lapse so I do not need to start over with the 90 day grace period for claims. He got me set up again and happy. I won't have to worry if I need to report a claim.

I have had Select Home Warranty as my service provider for many years. Their performance has been excellent. I am especially impressed with their customer service and the expertise of the staff that do the repairs. I am totally satisfied. I have had other companies do the work for me in the past but their performance did not compare to Select Home Warranty.

I spoke with Richard ** who was very nice and gave good customer service in explaining the various current offers for new policy enrollment. He reviewed the service call fee and option to lock in annual renewal rate. After I agreed to enrollment, he immediately followed up with sending policy by email. Very loud in the background. Could hardly hear what she was saying. Thick accent. Just wasn’t easy to understand what she was saying. Had to keep asking her to repeat herself. Other than that it was OK. Waiting for 48 hours is not good when you have a water leak. The next question is asking coverage. Do not know what that is unless you talking about the amount of coverage that I have with this warranty. For that I will give the coverage four star.

Purchased home warranty through Select after reviewing prices with competitors as well as coverage. Alan helped answer a few key questions I had and was very polite during the process. He explained the difference in coverages and provided insight into pool coverages. Overall easy to communicate and very responsive. He also provided anniversary discount and helped me get an additional 2 months for free.

I have submitted two claims and both were denied. The warranty only covers very specific things. Unless it’s specifically written in the contract it will not be covered. I wish I would have gone with a different warranty company. Example, my garage door opener light no longer works and it’s not covered.

I'm big on Customer Service; If I can get good customer service I will more than likely return to the place of business. I enjoyed the calls with the reps from Select Home Warranty. The only reason why I didn't give them 5 star all around, is because of the referral they gave me for repairs... The guy didn't know anything and acted very incompetent.

Washing machine repair. A service repairman diagnosed the problem on March 5, 2020 and told me it would take 24 to 48 business hours for a manager to make a decision. Never heard from anyone. Was told last week claim was expedited and would take 24 to 48 business hours. Today is March 25. No decision. And yes it would take 24 to 48 business hours! I was not able to speak with a manager no matter how many times I asked to. Finally terminated all 3 of my 3 year contracts. Worst home warranty company ever. I’d rate it zero if I could.

I went online to seek a quote for a year policy, I saw that the rates were about a dollar a day which seemed absolutely reasonable for the peace of mind I would get. I then received a call from one of the specialist and he was able to bring my rate down lower and give me a promotion that wasn't available online and I ended up locking in a 6 year policy.

Discovered washing machine was leaking from this in the filter area. Called to get it fixed. Customer service was excellent. They took all of my information and was very polite and professional. She submitted my repair request and I was notified within 15 by the repair center in my area.

3. Contractor was dispatched. But took longer than I expected to come. No fault of Select. The contractor found refrigerator needed new compressor. Not cost effective.
4. When I called Select again agent was able to hear me after I called several times after bad phone lines again.
Agent answered my questions and promised to investigate. He must have, for within a day or so my claim was resolved. Select offered me a reasonable settlement. Called today. Bad phone lines. Gave up calling and emailed instead. Select did what they were supposed to do. Only complaint, I live 45 miles from the contractor. I need a local person. Possibly, the wait time would have been reduced.

Talked with the svc tech Monday evening and he came out Tuesday with a possible solution ready but had to go back and get another part and had it up and running Wednesday. Your guy did what what I asked, gave me a good deal. My warranty with a competitor was going to expire and you provided better coverage for a better rate. The additional roof coverage was a plus for minor issues without having to pay a big deductible via my homeowners.

After accepting the warranty rep made several attempts to upgrade the service. As he had mentioned the service was the same renewal price, then after addl. conversation he explained the renewal wasn't set up to be renewed at same price.. He explained the process and answered my questions. I felt comfortable giving you $$ for the service. Now I get to check out the realities of just what we bought.

I submitted for quotes from several companies with varying levels of protection and Select Home Warranty called me back with by far the best level of protection, lowest cost ($375), longest coverage period and lowest service cost fee ($60). I would recommend their protection plans to anyone I encounter. Plumbing. Toilet running. The toilet sounds like the water will fill then pause then fill again. This has been happening since around March 10. I don't know what else to say. The customer Service Rep was good and I received a text message to pick 3 times I would be available. The response shows my 3rd choice was the only time your company could come. The customer service rep, Hazel said it would take up to 48 hours.

They responded to my email within 24 hours. The response to questions via phone were quick also. I needed to purchase an additional rider, but there was no waiting period. I did not need to resubmit my claim, they were able to send it over on their end. This is my first experience with using a Home Warranty and I will be interested to see how it turns out with the service piece.

These people are outright criminals...They do not cover Freon Leaks??? You have to be kidding me. Probably one the main issues that arise with a/c units. I understand that you would not cover Freon, but you will not cover the cause of the leak?? You call this a home warranty?? Again, this is flat out criminal.

Select Home Warranty has been the greatest service that I have ever had. I had tried two other warranties but they would come up with something which made my repairs take longer than it needed to be. I have had no problems with select home. I call, put in a claim, they act fast within 24 to 48 hours. They have me a service repairman found. The repairman works around my schedule, which is very important to me. I would recommend this company as they have been five.stars.for me.

My water heater broke today and it is covered under my warranty, so I called it in. While the representative was nice and helpful, I feel as though there was somewhat of a language barrier and I’m not sure if I got my point across. This claim could take two days to go through, which is a long time for such an essential item.

Broken garage door opener. The door doesn’t come open with our remote opener. Currently we have to open it manually. We are elderly people. This process is very inconvenient. Today the contractor did call us. Will be out tomorrow to access things fo fix the problem. we are happy about the turnaround time and the pleasantness of the customer service Representative when I placed the complaint.

We bought a Select Home Warranty to replace our previous home warranty that was no longer offered in the area. We knew that it had limits when we purchased it and that it only covers the estimated current value of an item, not the full replacement price. We were generally satisfied with our claim, having those expectations, but it would be nice if the amount reimbursed included a little more for labor. It is what it is, and for an old house like ours, having coverage is better than not. Customer service was positive--maybe felt a little rushed, but that's better than dealing with inefficient companies that run you around in circles.

Updated on 03/31/2020: AC Fan quit running. Air Masters came out. He said fan was overheating. Put a capacitor on to get it running. He said it will still overheat. He checked the Fins and said they were wore out. Unit was 14 years old. He gave me a price to replace and I agreed. He should have checked with Select to see if any way Select would help on replacement.
Original review: Fan on outside unit not running 80 degrees inside. Unit was just Humming. Called in and it was hard to understand someone with different accent. She was nice but no reassurance that Select will fix my AC. I explained I am on CPAP machine at night and needed it working ASAP if possible.

Pool. The initial concern was the salt generator was not working. They were good in letting you know what is covered and what is not covered. Explained in their email what was probably wrong with the system and that it was not covered under my warranty. They completed the claim very quickly.

Heater malfunction. The process of getting this claim processed was time consuming. There were same repetitive information request day over day. It should be a lot faster. It seems that the customer file is not updated in the system as the call recipients kept asking same information again and again. If this is improved, i.e. if I didn't have to submit and ask repeated information, the process would have been done in a week. Total 3 weeks was taken...

I wanted a good, reputable and reliable home warranty and zeroed on Select after going though many reviews. I know taking a Home Warranty is waste of time and money as the original purpose of taking it never gets solved. But being optimistic I chose Select seeing their good reviews and exhaustive plans and moreover the deals. The Platinum Plan covers almost all and also with the deal comes free roof leak coverage. I requested the quote online and immediately got calls. I am surprised as I got a call again on the Sunday evening. The salesperson Abraham was nice and courteous and explained all my questions and gave me a very good deal for 3 years and lower per visit fee. He was patient and the process was straight and smooth. I recommend the Select Home Warranty for the Sales part as of now. Will give another review when I have a chance to use their services.

Ceiling fan barely works. Don't understand why didn't replace. Could be a fire hazard. They didn't even check to see what's wrong. I believe they should replace it. Insurance pays for replacement. Not satisfied At all with their service. I hope the short in fan doesn't burn my house down. It definitely has a issues that they fail to even inspect.

I live in a small town in a location that Select does not have anyone close on contract. I was able to call my local plumber, have him relay the diagnoses, and submit my paid bill to Select. My claim was processed and approved within 24 hours.. Everyone I spoke with was nice, knowledgeable, and prompt. I am now waiting for my refund.

Your agents are rude and FAR from knowledgeable. I have never experienced such inept customer service; rude agents when speaking to the technician in my home, and every agent had a different response. NO CONSISTENCY with information or direction to give to the customer and I'm supposed to be a "Platinum" member. It appears that once you receive the customer's money, service and your customer's wellbeing is no longer an important factor and far from being a priority. It is true that SATISFIED Customers become REPEAT Customers. Clearly, this has fell short on your staff and company culture.
After 3.5 hours of being on the phone with several agents. Names have been documented; I HAVE NO RESOLUTION! This was my FIRST TIME ever dealing with your company. Now I am starting to question if the reviews online are REAL! Furthermore, ALL business can NOT and should NOT be handled via email or text message. There are certain issues and emergencies that MUST be handled via phone with a KNOWLEDGEABLE Manager. BASIC Customer Service is obsolete. Finally, I am LITERALLY HORRIFIED in the manner in which I was dealt with yesterday.
To have an elderly bedridden Parent in a home without heat with the temperature due to drop even further by nightfall and you could not provide me with a reputable company to dispatch to my home!!!! Then I am told I can find my own company and you will reimburse me up to $2000 by a Manager. Again, names are documented. Only for your "Authorization" Department to state, "I'm not sure about that" and the "Approval" Department is closed. Yet I had been on the phone for 3 hours!!!! With various Agents either hanging up on me or transferring me endlessly REFUSING TO ALLOW ME TO SPEAK TO THAT SAME MANAGER WHO GAVE ME THE INITIAL INFORMATION OR A SUPERVISOR!
And you want me to rate your company's excellence???? The word "excellence" belongs NOWHERE NEAR your company's name. It should be illegal to operate in the United States of America in the manner that I was subjected to yesterday! It gives me neither great pleasure to have to write this review; nor, to have to call you back TODAY to speak with a Representative from the "Approval" Department if there really is one. (One Agent told me someone from the "Approval" Department would be contacting me but then said they do not speak with anyone over the phone!) WHAAAAT!!!! Also he offered a price which is quite reasonable comparing with other home warranty services. They also offer customizable add-ons, including roof coverage, which seems to be a nice addition.

Updated on 07/24/2020: Brett ** responded to my request for assistance with my A/C. He communicated with me throughout the process. He was very pleasant and helpful! He actually serviced my A/C even though Select Home Warranty was not giving him the go ahead to do so. My Adopted Mom, who lives in the home, is on oxygen, and he absolutely did not want her to be without air conditioning! That meant so much to me! He didn't have to go above and beyond, but he did!

Ray went in and looked at the coverage that I had purchased, offered me a way for me to get the same coverage, but to save some money and offered me a couple extra months complimentary and lowered the service fee for me.

I submitted a claim on my Electrolux Clothes Dryer ($1,000 product) to Select Home Warranty on February 5, 2020. The product was put into service early June 2018. The 3rd party contractor for the repair took 5 days to respond. They did come out and sent a claim to the company. After 3 weeks the contractor was unresponsive. They sent another service provider and he made another claim to the company. They replied stating that they would offer $200 for the repair and everything else was on us. We paid $450 per year for this coverage and Select Home Warranty failed us. We canceled our policy and were charged for the time the policy was in place, plus $75.00 cancellation fee. This company failed completely.

They promise they cover all appliances, and I paid extra for pool, AC, roof and sprinkler. 1st time I made a claim, on my dishwasher, I was told it was a preexisting condition, (when it wasn’t) and the next claim was on my microwave. They told me it was unrepairable and they would give me $95. To match the built in microwave new was $550. So I had it fixed. I paid $270 to have it repaired plus a $45 service fee. I was reimbursed $95. This company is a sham...they scammed me into paying for a year upfront with offering me two extra free months. When I tried to cancel my policy and give me my money back they wouldn’t.

This is the worst company. They lie to you about what they cover. When you call you get a representative that barely speaks English. I canceled on 2/18/20 and was told I would receive a confirmation email the next day. Never received an email, so I called on 3/9/20 to find out what happened. They said it wasn't processed from my previous call but it would be canceled then. They said it normally takes 30 days to receive a refund check but they would expedite it since they didn't cancel it on 2/18/20. Called 3/19/20 because I still have not received my check and they now say it will be 30 days from today. They lie right to customers and do not do what they say.

HORRIBLE! I am VERY upset about this policy! I have just spent lots of time arguing on the phone with one of your agents about this payout of $98. The CHEAPEST built in above stove microwave that is the same size even on sale online is nowhere close to this settlement amount. The current microwave was purchased 19 years ago for $400! The agent said that what my policy covers is a depreciated value of my current unit, that is all? When I spoke, with salesman upon sign up of this policy, I was under the assumption that this company would replace a failed unit with same quality/features/size (color and brand not guaranteed). This is in my notes from our conversation. Now I am told that if it is cheaper for your company to offer me a settlement equal to a depreciated value of appliance that this is what is done.
Why am I paying such a high monthly amount and also needing to pay for a deductible if when a $500 appliance goes out you are only responsible for less than $100, I am responsible for the other $400 as well as installation. I also made a claim for my dishwasher last week and have not heard from your company about it! Is this another $500-$600 item that I will receive a $100 settlement on?

Pool claim. Claim line wasn’t much help. But I was told that no matter what kind of claim it is it takes 24-48 hours to just get an email response. Even if it’s for something like AC in Florida during the summer. I wasn’t exactly pleased with that information. It doesn’t seem they prioritize claims like that and in this weather for elderly people that could be a health and safety issue. I guess I will see once they finally respond to my claim.

Clothes dryer screeching, called Select Home Warranty, unable to get us a repairman, however we found a local man, who promptly came out, total cost with labor and parts was $150. Submitted paid the invoice, per their instructions and received the ok to get reimbursed within a seventy two hours. I was initially skeptical of their claim that they would cover all appliances. Very happy with service and would happily recommend to friends and acquaintance.

Plans were very competitive and were some the best I seen yet in comparison to others and the Customer Service was awesome and was not forced on you and listened to your questions and put your mind at ease. Gave you the best offer available and went over everything with you to try to give you the best deal possible.

Pool claim. Representative was courteous and polite. She handled my concern well. I got my answer to my satisfaction. I was very satisfied with the customer service. The wait time on the phone was not long at all. I was placed on hold for several minutes. I understand she was trying to get a hold of the service technician with no response. So, it was understandable.

My washer started making loud noise at spin cycle. I call Select Home Warranty to submit a repair claim and representative made a claim case quickly. In 5 minutes received Service Provider text message to schedule my service visit. Great, everything smooth and fast, hope they will fix my washer tomorrow.

It was all good. The rep did a good job. The reason for the call was that rates for the new year had gone up $100. With a repeat customer, with no claims this should not have been the issue. The rep understood and reduced this year's charge to renew back to the same rate as the year before of $399. Plus gave us 2 free months.

She was quick and handled all of my needs. She told me in less then 48 hours someone should contact me. My washer is lot old and I never had this problem and she told me to rest assured she will make sure she takes care of me. This is my second time having to use them and they have been pretty good and quick last time that I used them as well. I am looking forward to continue to keep them if there are any other problems that I may have.

Gentlemen was virtuous and explained policy options. Not pushy and gave me my space to make up my mind. Just got policy so we will see when it comes time to make a claim. But an average repair on any appliance will pay for the policies cost of a year.

Happy to be able to speak with someone to understand the reasoning behind their decision to replace the appliance. I only wish they would have offered me more money. With the amount they are providing, I can only replace it with a used appliance. Fortunately that is allowed. Some home warranties will not allow this. Official receipt is required.

Heat system. I sent in 3 yrs of maintenance records, technician spoke with them before doing any repairs. 28 degrees - I had to have heat. Bill was for $745.22. Still haven't gotten paid back. SHW only wants to give me $150.00. I have been paying $33.33 monthly by credit card. SHW said card would not go through for Feb - now they can't pay me because of status. Today 3/16/2020 card suddenly worked. SHW is worried about their money but want to cheat me.

My call was answered quickly. Customer service was very helpful and answered all my question. Received requested information within a few minutes. I have not used this service so I cannot rate that part. It would appear that the cost for this plan is worth it if you require service.

Josh was very detailed and patiently explained the coverage options. I was able to get clear picture what I am going to get as part of this contract. Josh helped me to make the decision. Ok value for the money. Would recommend 1 year plan over month to month. Representatives on the phone are always helpful and friendly. There is a thirty day waiting period for the coverage. 75 dollar deductible per service call. Watch the max limit per year on dollar amount. I would also call ahead to make sure they have techs. In the area.
