Our 17 yr old Well-maintained AC broke down and SHW is devising lame excuses so as not to cover expenses and refuses to give me a functional AC. In this Houston heat, with babies at home....I pray for this terrible nightmare to end!!

I had a washing machine that was knocking during the spin cycle. Called SHW on February 4 and they were to send out a technician. The tech came out and described the issue. Weeks went by with no communication from the tech or SHW. Called multiple times. SHW then sent out a second tech and a second service charge to tell me the same thing. No word again. Called the service provider and they said SHW denied the claim. Called SHW and they said they wouldn’t repair the machine and would give me $200 to buy a new one. The machine in $989.00 on sale. The math doesn’t add up now does it. The last guy I talked to was supposed to call me back on Monday and never did. For those reading this review, don’t walk away, RUN.

I emailed a claim in. It was quickly taken care of. I was able to pick my plumber. The claim was approved within 24 hours all I had to do was send in a copy of receipt. It was super easy. I would recommend always submitting your own claims. It is much faster and you get to pick who comes to your home.

Line leak in plumbing at utility sink hot water shut off valve - I called in and was helped to find my policy number and submitted the claim over the phone. I was told I would be getting an email with regard to the next steps after a review of the claim to ensure it was a covered in the following 24-48 hours. I received the email in about 24 hours. I am now waiting to hear back via email on who the technician is to be assigned for the repair. The customer service rep was very helpful and thorough, accurate and informational on what to expect next. I appreciate the helpful information.

I didn’t have to sit on hold for more than 2 minutes nor was I transferred to another dept. Mac assisted me with all my needs and he was very polite, professional and was knowledgeable when answering all my questions. This was my 1st call with my new policy and I was impressed.

I am a new customer to SHW but not to home warranty services. I called today to confirm my online request for a new contract. The sales rep was a little pushy considering the state of the country. Being on a fixed income and trying to be proactive in keeping the appliances in my home working, the rep was only concerned with marking a sale and not going over once line of the contract with me. I hope I’m a satisfied new customer.

Getting set up was made very simple by the website and customer service rep who contacted me. He was knowledgeable and streamlined the process. Information was made readily available and options were discussed. The information was clearly explained and the next steps in the process were communicated. Select Home Warranty had the best discounts and incentives available that I could find on the market for military and multi year plans. The customer service I received was top notch as the agent I spoke to was incredibly knowledgeable about heir premiums. Looking forward to never having to call them, but if I do, am confident I will be covered by them.

I had called today to get this claim reopened because the first option to repair the dryer was not the solution. Your representative was very professional in helping me solve this issue and I am waiting to hear from the tech who will come back to repair my dryer. I have used my SHW on two or three occasions and I have always been pleased with the service that has been provided through my plan. Thank you.

We have been lucky enough that we have not needed to use our home warranty yet. I have had to contact the company a few times during the process of purchasing our agreement and they have been very kind and have responded in a very timely manner. So far so good.

We are new to Select so can only comment on the process to purchase our warranty, which we found to be smooth and problem-free. Select was very favorably rated on many sites that review home warranty companies. We will rate Select again after our policy has been in effect for six months or so.

I waited 3 days for a technician to come, and when I called him, he hadn't even gotten word from SHW. The claim was denied, because SHW says it was leaking. I just bought it, brand new last year. It is not leaking! It just stopped working. You don't even deserve one star, but the technician was good, so I gave you the star. Now, I want a full refund from you, and cancel my plan! You're useless!

We had a question to ask and the customer service rep responded and followed through within 5 minutes of being on the phone with me. We haven't made a claim yet, but when we need to, I suspect it to go smoothly based on preliminary dealings with them. Overall I would recommend their customer service team!

Refrigerator repair. I was able to locate my own contractor, and even though I believed he overcharged for the repair, Select Home Warranty covered all costs and was done in what I consider a timely manner. I have never had this company pay a claim. I signed up again because they told me that was the only way they would pay for a claim that I already put in with my last contract. The Customer Service team is nice, but they aren't very knowledgeable. They wouldn't even allow me to enter this, unless I gave them a good rating. smh

Phenomenal customer service. Easy to order via phone or online. Sales rep, Sam **, was very helpful and answered all of my questions and got us an amazing deal on 14 months of coverage! Cannot beat Select Home Warranty. Still need to test out the warranty itself, but I have no doubt that with this level of customer service that if (when) something in my home breaks it will be a smooth process.

Furnace stop working & can't light pilot light. The customer service rep was very helpful & pleasant, she took thorough info on our problem and advised a service company would contact us between 24 to 48 hrs. She took all appropriate info that was wrong with the furnace and assured us someone be contacting us & we would be contacted via email for an appointment date.

The agent was knowledgeable and helpful. He sent a contract which I reviewed and had questions about. It's really important to review the policy, as it didn't cover a tankless hot water heater. After calling him, he changed the policy to include the hot water heater. The policy goes into effect in 30 days, so we will see how that goes.

George who was my POC for the policy was very professional and explained to me all the benefits of the policy in detail and saved by suggesting different plans. I was with another company for the last 15 yrs but they stopped the operation in Maryland so hopefully, this company stays in business. I read reviews from others here and on BBB so hopefully, I would be getting the best service.

Air Conditioning failure. The repair arrival time was scheduled in a timely fashion. Technicians were able to arrive early, and called to say so. Techs were communicative, and work was completed quickly. The only unexpected situation was that this repair company would only accept cash for the trip/Select deductible, and that was not communicated in advance by their company's scheduler.

I contacted Select Warranty for the first time since signing up with them in July of 2019. My AC unit u is giving me problems so of course I am already on pins and needles. The young lady was extremely professional and put me at ease with how she handled my issues. She listen to my concerns and promptly got me taken care of with a repair service.

Contract #**...I enrolled in service today online. I called customer service to confirm and was provided great service and given a better deal with a cheaper annual fee and cheaper service fee so I was completely satisfied with the service. I will come back and make another review once I actually have to use the service.

The representative was very knowledgeable and didn’t waste a lot of time. He was also concerned with me saving money. The entire process took about 5 minutes and that’s including the time spent completing the Internet application. I would definitely recommend this plan to any homeowner, it gives peace of mind with any unforeseen problems.

When I called the number to get my contract number to complete the online claim, the representative gave me the contract number and filed the claim for me. The representative was very articulate and kind. I have only used the service once before for my air conditioner and that went well. Dealing with Select Home Warranty has been a nightmare. I have had two issues and both times, first time, the repair company didn't even exist. They called, had to get my own on both occasions. Then when they talk to my repairman, they kept putting him on hold, sending him to other dept. I have yet got reimbursed for my problem. I emailed the invoice to them and a word back, have called, and I keep getting a run around. It's almost like the are a fake company. I can't explain enough what a nightmare this has been.

The operator took the time to describe all of my options in enrolling with Select. The description given was very clear and without any undue pressure. The Platinum Plan is the best option for me both financially and satisfaction in knowing things will be taken care of in the future. The Platinum Plan is far more inexpensive than my previous coverage with a different company. The future looks rosy for me and my family. My policy was supposed to have an effective date of April 18, 2020. They refused a claim on that day instead claiming my effective date was the 19th. After speaking to retention, he honored my claim with no hassle and an appointment was made that day. Customer service was not very helpful.

I just signed up with Select Home Warranty. My customer service representative, Richard, was helpful, understanding and made sure the particulars of my policy were clear. He also explained discounts that I was eligible for in an easy to understand manner. While I haven't had to use the service (for obvious reasons) I truly believe that if the enrollment experience is anything like the claims experience that it will be a breeze.

I got a quote for Home warranty Platinum care from Select Home warranty via online Mar 15, 2020 and the select home warranty person George ** called me and explained me why select home warranty is able to provide coverage with local repair shops. George told me that there is a wait time of 1 month for the policy to start effective which is Apr 15, 2020 and all appliances will be covered from Day 1. If anything broken before the effective date, then he should be able to move the effective date. Talked about policy transfer if the house was sold later & I took the policy on Mar 15, 2020. No issues with any appliances till Apr 15, 2020.
On Apr 15, 2020 my oven keypad didn’t work and I raised a claim on Apr 16, 2020 via online. Once the claim was raised, Dispatch team called and verified about the issue and said they will assign a local repair shop within 24-48 hrs & mentioned once the repair shop is assigned, call the repair shop store and schedule an appointment with them. Dispatch team assigned “Advance Tech Appliance Repair” on Apr 18, 2020 and I left voicemails on Apr 18 & on Apr 20. Contacted Dispatch team on Apr 20 and they also tried to reach Advance Tech Appliance Repair but there was no response. Hence Dispatch team asked to me to find a local repair shop in my city and reimburse the expenses.
Due to Covid-19, no local repair shops are not available other than GE but GE was asking 99.95$ for trip charge alone. I contacted dispatch team on Apr 22 again to mention about trip charges, dispatch team mentioned that they need to get approval for 99.95$ trip charge and asked me to wait for a day. On Apr 23,2020 I contacted Dispatch team and asked whether I can go ahead with GE. Dispatch team told that they are negotiating with GE to get a lesser trip fee and wait for 1 more day. On 24 Apr, 2020 I got an email from Dispatch team to send an email with the oven unit photos & serial and model number photo. On Apr 25, 2020 I called dispatch team, Dispatch team told that GE didnt agree for a lesser price and going to find another local repair shop which will take another 24-28 hrs.
On Apr 27, 2020 I got an email saying "I have been Approved for the Full Available Cap of $150.00 for the Repair". Their cheap practices start from this email. I called the Dispatch team again and asked why 150.00 has been approved as my repair Control board will cost close to 250$ alone (without labor charge). Dispatch team mentioned that "in the first 3 months" only $150.00 is allowed for appliance other than heating and cooling appliance". I Told the dispatch team, George told me that everything will be covered from day 1 and repairs are performed. If repairs aren't performed then replacement will happen" but he didn’t say anything about the limits. Then Dispatch team mentioned this cost limits are mentioned in the 10.1 section of the policy document. I mentioned to Dispatch team that George should have explained to me when we were taking in Mar 15, 2020 & dispatch team told sorry and they can't do anything.
I asked Dispatch team I need to cancel the policy as I am not happy with $150.00 payment. Dispatch team connected me to policy cancellation team where I discussed with Louis. Louis mentioned that in the first 3 months of policy only $150.00 will be paid irrespective of the issue and he also mentioned it is present in the 10.1 section of policy. I told Louis I trusted George to take policy from Select Home warranty and he didnt mention about 3 months condition & also mentioned that Dispatch team didnt say about this cost limits from the beginning until today. Louis told casually that's how select home warranty will do business. I become furious and started to read 10.1 section and below content from the policy document
"The following guidelines will be implemented to provide a repair/replacement allowance. For heating or cooling equipment (hvac), in the first three months of coverage, a $500 repair/replacement allowance will be paid to the customer. This repair/replacement allowance will increase to $2000 after the first three months of coverage. For appliances (non-heating or cooling) in the first three months, a $150 repair/replacement allowance will be paid to the customer. This repair/replacement allowance will increase to $500 after the first three months of coverage."
When I told Louis, even after 3 months select home warranty is not covering fully. Louis again mentioned that’s how select home warranty will do business with cheap premium. I asked Louis to cancel my policy effective 4/27/2020. Louis mentioned that the premium will be prorated from Mar 15, 2020 to 4/27/2020 + 75$ cancellation fee will be applicable and gave an offer for the next claim he will be waiving off the $60 service fee. I replied back to Louis saying I am not happy with the first claim itself & I am not going to open another claim with select home warranty and told him that my policy started on 4/15/2020 not on March 15, 2020. Louis mentioned that Select home warranty will count the days from Mar 15, 2020 not from 4/15/2020. I told to Louis that is cheating the customer for not considering the policy effective date. Louis took the request to cancel the policy and mentioned it will take 15-30 days to get the refund check.
If you are thinking to take "Select Home warranty", then read through the policy document mandatorily else you will be always talking to Dispatch team always. Then read through the policy document mandatorily else you will be always talking to Dispatch team always & spend more money for the repair or replacement cost than without a home warranty.

I needed a blower in the AC unit. It was an emergency as my father has very bad COPD and in Florida the humidity is hard on COPD patients. The unit was fixed. I submitted the invoice and paid check and it was honored in full by the insurance coverage. Very happy for the convenient process.

Upon research I found Select Home Warranty to be highly recommended. I found the rep to be extremely helpful in helping me select an excellent plan at very competitive price. The ability to select local contractors of my choice was extremely important because my prior plan required them to select an contractor that may a may not be in the immediate area.

He gave us several options to consider with regard to savings over time. This was a relief for so many warranties like this are just not worth the ink spent on them. I haven't yet experienced the actual service experience through the warranty so my review is primarily focused around the warranty purchase process. The agent providing the quote was knowledgeable and was able to answer my questions that eventually resulted in my purchase of the home warranty. Most of the answers were succinct and covered facts.

I reviewed several companies before choosing Select Home Warranty. I liked the fact Select Home Warranty offered a 5 year plan with a 6th year free. Basement drain backup, sewer issue with water backup in basement area. Require plumber to clear stoppage in both laundry room and cleanout area. Contacted Select Home for approval and to dispense a plumber. They could not locate one advised us to locate one on our own and they would potential reimburse for the approved amount. We are awaiting reimbursement from Select Home. Used Lakeshore Plumbing and they were outstanding! Very knowledgeable and corrected the problem and explained things very well!

Select Home Warranty responded with contact info to schedule service to repair my dishwasher. Tech showed up on a timely basis. Repairs were done and the tech had repair completed and left his work area clean. Followed up a few days later to see how my dishwasher was doing. I've been really pleased with Select so far. The customer service has been great (Michele is wonderful!), and the price was good. I haven't made a claim yet, so I can't speak to that...but so far everything else has been wonderful. I appreciate that their customer service representatives are attentive and kind!

Select’s followup was impressive. I worked with Jonathan and he was VERY helpful and patient and pleasant. Only reason I choose 4 stars instead of 5 is that I haven’t used the service yet. The coverage they claim is outstanding, and the price is very affordable! I’ve only worked with the sales department, not the service department.

I started looking for a Home Warranty and the gentleman I spoke at Select Home Warranty with was very knowledgeable in the various providers of Home Warranties in my area. He was honest and everything he told me was true. I verified all the rates from other companies and found this was the most economical route to take. Was shopping online for a quote for services that fit my needs... Received a phone call from Select but needed a bit more information and the customer service rep discussed all available options. He wasn’t pushy and answered my questions and then went a step further to try and save me some more money and provided the discounts I would qualify for. After leaving another warranty company for high rates and false advertisement, I felt confident that this was the company I should select, after all they are rated in the top 5. Not to mention they offer GREAT customer service so far!!

Filed claim on oven. Was to pay $60. Deductible which I paid. Technician had to order parts. After a week with no response I called Select and they say they only pay for part and I have to pay labor. False advertising. Don't waste your money!!!

My call to make a claim about my HVAC system went very well and was informative. I explained that the HVAC system needed to be replaced and why, however after being told to send receipts for the replaced HVAC system in order to receive reimbursement, I received an email back saying a contractor is being sought out to complete work for me that has already been done. I’ve responded saying I just need reimbursement with no response. Miscommunication must have happened somewhere.

The representative I spoke with today was very willing to make sure we stayed a customer. He was patient and very flexible. He made us feel we were worthy and that our business mattered. We wasn't sure if we would be able to afford the rate because it was $200 more then last year. The representative was able to get us the same rate as last year as well as break our payments down into 2 payments. With everything going on with COVID-19, it is refreshing to know that someone is looking out for their customers. We hope to continue to business with Select. Thank you!

Waiting to have my air conditioner unit checked. SHW responded in fair amount of time and reply back in the manner they suggested. Suggested I find a technician local and gave me the budget amount and anything more would have to have approval. Still awaiting a technician due to the pandemic but SHW is still in the midst of the problem and has contacted a technician.

The process of filing a claim was easy. My AC unit was not properly cooling my home so I filed a claim. I received an email stating my problem was not covered by my policy but after speaking with a representative informing him of the problem, he helped filed the claim correctly and informed me a technician will be contacted.

My oven went out due to a storm. I assume it must have been hit by lighting or maybe a power surge due to the lighting. Power went out but oven didn’t come back on. I called, made the claim and the rep was very nice and courteous. She explained everything very well and where I could understand.

Not sure 100% on the value of the home warranty because the service fee to have a technician come out to our home is not covered, so that was a surprising factor.

The customer service was very quick and efficient. Also very pleasant and helpful in assisting me to file a claim for my washer. I received the email with my claim status within minutes of ending the call. There was no long wait to speak to a customer service representative. I am now awaiting for informing on the contractor who will be servicing my washing machine and to set up an appointment for diagnostic and repair. Absolutely the worst experience!!! I have just completed my first year of coverage and will not be renewing. I had 4 claims and only 3 were covered, even though according to my contract, all 4 should have been. I bought a house and paid $499 for the top level of coverage. It included just about everything in the house. The chain on my garage door Opener broke, they covered it, but not without a fight. They attempted to tell me it wouldn’t be covered until I got a supervisor on the phone who corrected the matter after speaking to the tech who was on the job. I had roof leak coverage, I had a roof leak over my main bedroom, they refused to cover it saying the leak was outside the “occupied” living area. I don’t know how my master bedroom is outside the occupied living area, I tried 4 times to get this covered until I gave up, which is what they want you to do.
I had an electrical system claim, according to the contract, covered. I had a breaker that kept shutting off randomly for no reason, they classified it as a “light fixture” and denied my claim. Had zero to do with a light fixture, there was a bad breaker and they kept telling me I do not have coverage for light fixtures even though that wasn’t the issue and in my contract it said I had coverage for light fixtures and ceiling fans, and they kept telling me it did not. I even got a supervisor on the phone again, they confirmed both electrical and fixture coverage on my contract. Said they will send an electrician and then 3 days later tell me they can’t find an electrician (in Phoenix), and deny my claim for lack of technician. Lastly, I had an issue with an appliance, my built-in microwave push open handle stopped working, they denied the claim saying I didn’t have coverage yet again, even though my contract says I do.
I have now gotten an Atty. involved to get my $499 back, because this is a complete joke of a scam service. The customer service department is in India, they use the language barrier against you, they don’t understand terminology. With the roof leak they kept referring to the garage. I kept telling them, my bedroom is not in the garage and they just kept repeating, "Well ma’am the garage is not an occupied living space and not covered." The leak wasn’t in the garage!!!! Beyond frustrating experience and an utter waste of $499. Save yourself the hassle and stress and go with someone, anyone else!!! This company is a complete fraud! Contract #** in case you want to verify what I am saying. My contract expired and I am now with American Home Shield.

Recently we purchased a home warranty through Select Home Warranty. We were able to include our irrigation system for a fee. Shortly thereafter our irrigation system required repair. SHW was quick to respond and approve the repairs. I have had coverage through other home warranty companies, none with the response and coverage like SHW.

We have been a subscriber o DC this service for 3 yrs and not used it so we can’t really give a review of their service! The price for three year is reasonable considering the cost of equipment replacement! Their renewal price is negotiable and that is a plus as they increase it by 43% if you don’t call them and negotiate a lower cost. They are very willing to lower your cost and their offers may be good but they give us Seniors no time to do the math to see the advantages! We renewed because we need the coverage!

Signing up was quick and easy and the rep that called was helpful. They called within 24 hours and had other deals to help with coverage and pricing. If you're interested in appliance warranty I would check them out. Only issue they don’t cover NY but they do cover many other states. They do try to upsell a little but it is good to know what is available. It is cheaper to buy the plan for a year or more but it is still a reasonable price for month to month.

The Warranty is extremely bad, the Claims are never honored at the time any repair issue pops up. The Claim department manipulates the way they do not want to honor the claim. I will never buy this Policy again based on the past 2 years experience. This is just a fraud Insurance Business.

Here’s what happened to me-AirConditioner malfunctioned; called; sent out their own contractor; he re-wired, drained Freon, left; A/C then smelled like it was on fire; second visit ruined what was left of the A/C. Replaced with a new $3000 unit. Total compensation for all of this was a check for $200‼️ The customer service promised emails that were never received. Claims department was 2-3 months late in sending the check. I cancelled the policy and they deducted the $200 from the prorated 3-year policy premium. Do not purchase this product—very bad.

I renewed with Select Home Warranty because the price was very affordable, especially when compared to other businesses, & even more so with their multi-year contract options which I was told are flexible (can cancel at any time and receive a pro-rated refund). I have yet to use them for a home issue but hope that it will be as simple for a repair issue as it has been to find and sign up with their business.

The LG refrigerator and freezer stopped cooling. The phone call with the Select Home Warranty rep was reasonably good, but the appliance repair company they selected was not provided with any information by Select (type of fridge, contact phone, etc.), all of which I gave to the guy on the phone. I had to follow up by calling the appliance repair company and give them the info, which should have been included by Select.

The supervisor is going to gather a technician for me to resolve my plumbing issues. He will make sure the technician is approved prior to the technician coming over to my house. I have had issues with technicians accepting the job and then turning it down so the supervisor guaranteed me that he would find someone.

Called regarding to toilet in master bath and toilet in guest having a leak. Do not know where leaks are, however talked to Cheska and she was very helpful and courteous. She explained procedure in detail. I am happy wth SHW and wit response I have received so far. Keep up good works.

Initially contacted SHW when the problem was discovered on Thurs., 4/17, late in the day. A very affable operator took my call and issued me an ID #. She explained the process to me, and told me that I would be contacted within 24 hours. The next day I received an e-mail asking me to describe the problem, I answered, and received another e-mail informing me that since the next day began the weekend, I would receive an e-mail within 48 hours informing me which local service group would be in contact with me to establish a mutually convenient time to resolve the situation. I rec'd a call from JR Plumbing & Mechanical Svcs, and within 24 hours they arrived at my home and completely resolved the problem in a highly professional manner. They were friendly, very proficient, and cleaned up after they completed the task. I DEFINITELY WOULD recommended them and SHW for like problems.

I had a wonderful experience getting this warranty started. We had been with another company for 2 years and was ready for a change. The only issue I am having is creating an account online. The only option is username and password and I have not been provided that information yet and there is not an option to create.

Around December 2018, I paid in full for a warranty with Select Home Warranty, over $300. I reported an air condition problem. I read under the air conditioner in the contract, and it did not say that the problem was not covered. Select came back and said that under a different section, it states that the warranty does not cover rust, so they did not repair the unit. I had to buy a new coil and have it installed at $1000.
The air conditioner had another problem. Select came back to me and stated that one of the parts that need repair was not covered under warranty, so they cannot pay for the parts that were covered under warranty either. I had someone else to repair the air conditioner, $600. The last time I reported a problem with the air conditioner was in August 2019. Select warranty told me that the air conditioner was improperly installed. The unit was installed with the house when I brought the home new. How can this be? I did not understand this at all. I went the remainder of the summer with no air conditioner.
In December 2019, I reported a problem with my water heater. They sent Kirkland plumbing to repair it. I paid Kirkland the $100 fee for coming to check out the problem. Kirkland did a great job repairing the water heater and stated that I had to pay him and get reimbursed by Select warranty. I sent Select warranty The receipt of the work that stated paid. Select approved a reimbursement of $150.
Today, April 2020, I received a check for $35, and Select indicated that they sent the plumber the balance of that $150, even though the statement said paid and all the money was to come to me. Select stated that they did not authorize me to pay the plumber, so know he is paid twice. Select told me that I had to contact the plumber if I wanted the remainder of my money. I called the plumber, and he stated that he had not received my payment from the Select home warranty. This has been an awful experience. I would suggest to everyone that you need to read a contract completely before accepting the terms that are given to you. I will never do any business with Select home warranty again.

Can only hope you never need to use them but the thought of having five star contractors do the work was very appealing. Answered my questions on HVAC and that was quite helpful. This is my continued warranty service contract... Their service has improved... When calling with a problem a representative files a claim and advises the procedures that follow... When a contractor is identified the work is scheduled... Thus, the problem gets resolved and fixed quickly... Contractors are experienced and explain their work... Thank heavens the agent was knowledgeable because I had a lot of questions! I called to get a price quote to compare to my present policy. I’d had no problems with my current policy but questioned the price increase. My questions were regarding coverage & price. The agent was prompt & informative....no sales pitch until I had signed on, then the offers of additional incentives if I signed on for extended time! Didn’t appreciate that! I've had a policy with Select Home Warranty for about 1 year, and this is the first time that I've had to use it. I have a plumbing issue where one of my showers is broken and the water will not stop running full blast. I had to call in to speak to someone because I could not find my policy number listed on any emails I have to submit a claim. I explained the situation, and that I had to shut off water to the entire home. This is a problem because I work from home and thus need access to the toilet, drinking water, etc. The rep I spoke to advised that it would be 24-48 hours before I would hear from anyone, and seemed unsympathetic that this was an emergency. Once I was given a claim number, I called back to speak to the existing claim line and see if I could have it escalated.
I was told that I would have to either wait the 24 to 48 hours or I would have to find a plumber (that they approve) and pay for the repairs out of pocket and then be reimbursed if it is a qualified repair. I was then told that this may not be a qualified repair if the problem involves a plumbing fixture. I used to have Fidelity Home Warranty, but they didn't offer monthly plans and I couldn't afford to pay them 6 months at a time up front. Plumbing issues, or no cooling during the summer were issues that could be fixed ASAP. The fact that Select Home Warranty has no emergency procedure defeats the purpose of the warranty, especially if I have to pay out of pocket and be reimbursed. The whole purpose of the service is to prevent large unplanned expenses, which Select obviously doesn't actually help. I'm going to be finding a new service.

On Monday I emailed regarding needing someone to come and look at my water softener. I received a call back a few hours later letting me know that they would be lining up the first available person to come within the next 24-48 hours. I just received an email (less than 24 hours since my call with them) that they are still in the process of finding someone and I should hear from someone soon. So far I'm happy with the communication and customer service. I hope a service person can come this week.

This company was awful. I work in customer service. After paying the year upfront 6 months ago, this company did not even have an account for me. They promise a resolution within 48 hours. I am on day 6 with no AC and not even a follow up email. I have spoken to 4 reps and 2 supervisors who promise a call back and I have not received a single call. STAY AWAY from this company!!

Roof leak. The Select warranty representative asked appropriate questions in order to open up a claim. The representative was courteous and though we had a static connection the representative was patient to repeat information and questions when asked. I have made countless calls to the PHILIPPINE call center where I STRUGGLE trying to explain things in BASIC ENGLISH. Countless follow up calls, estimates and reports on damage have gone unanswered. ALMOST EVERY CLAIM I HAVE MADE HAS BEEN REJECTED. They collect money and DON'T PAY FOR. Stay away - seems like a big scam to me.

Never use Select Home Warranty to insure your home. I had two small claims in the last three years, and their local representative never turned up. I had to call outside technicians to fix the problem and the company did not reimburse the money. Finally I had to call them so many times to cancel my policy because they were not reimbursing for their repairs. They finally approved one claim and did not approve the second claim, and when I received the refund, they deducted most of money because of the cancelled policy - Never use this company.

I am not sure what everyone else's experiences have been but this has been the worst warranty company I have dealt with. They consistently reject claims from day one, reps will tell you a claim is rejected before it ever goes to review. When someone comes out they will tell the worker to stop looking for the problem and ask them to leave the property without a resolution when it comes to AC units. Plumbing issues--they make up their own rules even if not quoted in the policy and you have to argue the facts with them. Claims are rejected as soon as you file them even if they meet guidelines. Operators do not listen and put wrong info in claims causing them to be rejected. Constantly have to call back to correct issues and argue claims which even if they fit the policy are automatically rejected. Don't waste your money. Will cost you more money in the long run and won't even have an answer for the problem.

I enrolled on Friday, Sunday morning I was called to confirm my order, being that it is was early and I had just woke up, I asked if he could call me back in 15 minutes, he agreed and 15 minutes later he called back as promised, I was able to think and understand human speech, he offered a one time payment option that I took him up on. Unfortunately I do not recall the gentleman name as it was pre coffee and 40+ year old brain does not function right without coffee.

Select sent a company out for garage door repair, they came out same day. The company they sent replaced the door charging me $700.00. Unfortunately I was lied to by this company, they never sent in repair report to get authorization from Select, the owner told me it wasn't covered. Select is reimbursing me a portion of my expenses.

This was my first claim with this company, Select Home Warranty. A breaker switch failed and would not reset. This switch controlled the electrical appliances in the kitchen including the refrigerator. So this, in my eyes, was an emergency as we have our food supply kept frozen and stored to avoid going to the market during this Pandemic. The staff at the claims department was totally unsympathetic to this issue and kept telling me that They would try to find a technician within 48 hours and then I would have to wait for the technician to agree to come to look at the problem. This was after 12 hours of waiting for a reply to the claim.
The other gripe I have is that they will only send you an Email, so if you are not glued to your computer or phone, you are out of luck. This lets them off the hook and then it is up to you to monitor your email all day long, they can claim that they had sent you a message and it is not their fault that the issue was not taken care of. After waiting all day, no message from them. I contacted a technician in the area that was recommended to me by a friend. I called the Select Home Warranty company again and asked them if they had found someone, I was told that they will send me an email when this was handled by their staff. This was already close to 15 hours without their finding someone. It is totally unreal that they could not find someone. Most likely it was not being handled by them.
I told them that I would ask a local technician to come and would expect them to fulfill their coverage. I was told to call them when my technician arrived and they would then decide if they would approve this claim. After the technician arrived, I called the Select Home Warranty claim again and told them that they could talk with the technician to get his diagnosis. After they talked to him, he gave them an estimate of the cost. This technician was very reasonable and charged an incredible low price for his service. Also considering that the electrical panel is very old and breaker switches are almost impossible to find. I was lucky that he could get a replacement and would not add extra charges to go get the part. If I had left this to Select Home Warranty to handle the issue, I would be throwing away lots of good food by now. Not very happy with the process and the poor service I received. We need to get the item fixed right away. I am hoping to hear from the technician tomorrow. It is our U-Line ice maker.

The agent ensured that he was working on my account, and even put in to send me a welcome packet with an account card. Waiting to hear back with Contractor information and work to be completed. Representatives are always courteous and helpful. Hopefully they will arrive as fast as customer representatives answer their phones. Air conditioner is not even two years old.

Great customer service and extremely helpful with options and coverage needed for my home. I feel like the representative listened to my concerns about previous warranty coverage issues with a different company and assured me that won’t happen with Select Home Warranty.
