Very happy I chose Select Home Warranty for my new home my wife & I just purchased! I purchased the 3 year plan and got 6 months total for free included so I’m covered for 3 1/2 years and don’t have to worry if something wrong happens in my home. Cost was cheaper than I originally thought it be and the customer service was very kind & helpful! Highly recommend!

Very good company, very easy and a great warranty, the only co. I could find to cover my roof, well, septic, pool stuff and appliances. My salesman was patient, took his time and helped me through the entire process. I would def use Select Home Warranty and give a high recommendation for any future home purchase.

I appreciated the call from a representative checking in on my new account that I set up online. But working with him I was able to get a better rate for a longer period of time. Since my brand new I have not had need to make a service call yet, I hope it will go as well as setting up the initial contract.

This is the worst warranty company - My AC was running but not cooling the house, instead giving warm air. In hot summer times in Arizona, I was stuck with 2 kids in that warm house (in triple digit weather outside - 112degrees) waiting on their resolution for almost 8 days. Everyday they promise me to expedite the claim and get the resolution within a day. After 8 days, they sent me an email saying that issue is not covered in my warranty. They should have told me this in the first place, so I would have fixed it with other HVAC company.
Last year, they did the same with my pool motor. After 1 month, they finally told it's not covered and I changed the whole pool motor and tank with other company. But this time it's worse with the AC. I struggled a lot with my toddlers at home. This is a worst home warranty company and worst service ever. I shouldn't have trusted them so much. Their policies are so tricky - they do not cover most of the common issues on appliances. They have lots of catch.

Day 3 - no supervisor available, no further information. Hey, just call back next week. This is UNACCEPTABLE response from this company. RESOLUTION is needed within 48 hours as promised in their contract. The lack of information is unprofessional and a breach of what was signed. I'm reporting this because I am very sorry I did NOT go with American Home Shield.
The LACK OF COMMUNICATION from this company is insane. NO EMAILS - no contact unless you the customer call them. BIG mistake going with this service. I am going to request my money back and have them pay for the inconvenience of having broken air conditioning (in Texas, 99 degree heat) WITH IMPROPER AND unprofessional service.

Just a day after I submitted a fridge claim to Select Home Warranty, they gave me a call to confirm my claim and appointment with the technician. The technician from A&E factory service they dispatched is very professional and patient with my questions about the fridge. He fixed the problem (fridge leaking) in 20 mins. I am happy that the Select Warranty sent the good technician that solved the fridge issue two days after I sent the claim.

The phone call to set up the claim was very pleasant and helpful. She gave me all the information I needed, the cost of the call, that someone will reach out to us to set up an appointment for service. Service from Cyber World Electronics was good and the refrigerator is working.

I spoke with Moe to sign up for a home warranty on my primary residence and rental property. I thought I was just going to end up getting 1 year, but Moe mentioned to me that since I'm a recent homeowner if you buy a 5 year agreement you get 1 year for free! I couldn't pass up that deal, so I got 6 year warranties on both houses. They even lowered their service fee!

It was an ok call. The Salesman was a bit pushy but I’m happy with the overall cost and coverage. I know most home owners insurance had a 30 day waiting period but the sales Kane didn’t say anything about it until we were hanging up. It doesn’t matter to me because I already had coverage but for home owners who don’t that should be mentioned upfront.

The process was very quick and easy and I got a great deal. Moe was very helpful and friendly and let me do everything online because I work A LOT. Thanks Moe. No claims or services done yet, but so far I would recommend Select to anyone! I will review again if I have to make a claim, but I'm sure it will be just as quick and painless as the enrollment part was.

I was shopping for a home warranty for 2 homes. Isaac was very helpful and not pushy at all. He explained the warranty well. I have used another home warranty company in the past and had a terrible experience. I sincerely hope that I have a better experience with Select Home Warranty.

Just switched to SHW. There was a Labor Day promotion. And 3 years plan could be a good option if you think you would continue using home warranty. So far so good service! Heard their contractors get things done! And mostly the customer service is efficient, helpful and kind. Looking forward to the new service!

So far the service has been great. The agent explained everything to me even and asked if I had any questions. When I asked about other programs he was more than happy to explain them also even though they were not as good of a bargain. So far I have not used the service so I can't comment on that but as soon as I do I will update.

I had a home warranty when I purchased my home but I just wasn't happy with the customer service so I called Select. They were quick to offer me fantastic rates and a discounted call fee (which is what you pay every time you need somebody to come look at your warranted property). I hope their customer service is just as good now that I've purchased their product.

I have just renewed my home warranty with Select Home Warranty company. They are very easy to deal with and always pick up the phone. I did have a service call this year and they were extremely helpful and courteous. I have an older home over 30 years so for peace of mind I like having the peace of knowing my appliances and large expenses will be covered.

Very impressed with the agent who helped me buy my warranty policy. Great follow up. Look forward to working with this company. I received my warranty within minutes. When I was first approached by the agent I said I need time to review with my husband. He was very understanding and gave me the time to check out out other companies. My current home warranty was getting over in 2 days and I started reaching out for competitive quotes. When I started browsing for Select Home Warranty, I right away received a phone call. I cannot believe that the contract for the multi year was completed within 5 mins. No hassle, nothing and I right away had the contract available to my email. Also, being able to continue with the same price after 3 years is something I would have never imagined. Overall, best experience over the phone and best competitive price in the market right now.

I was able to contact SHW and spoke with a representative that was pleasant and professional. She informed me my service request would be handled within 24-48 hours. I received an email with the name of the service provider with instructions to call them to schedule an appointment. The entire process was simple and easy to navigate.

I look at other companies and their plans and cost to purchase and found that their plans did not cover all of the items I wanted cover for the price or their plans did not cover roof leakage. Select made it easy to enroll in their home warranty program and the value for the price was great.

I like the home protection Select Home Warranty offers and the affordability of their plans and their deductibles. Mr, Ray ** is both knowledgeable and helpful in conveying information about Select Home Warranties plans. I didn't feel like I was being pushed into a contract. Mr. ** didn't have any problem selling Select Home Warranty because their rating and available plans did it for him.

The agent was kinda pushy and dont like waiting time for 30 days, what if something broke during this time.... The agent did his best to explain coverage but didn't disclose fine prints what is not included or cover. They should include the coverage of water softener as well under plumbing.

We just ordered our yearly subscription and the customer service was outstanding!!! Kudos on hiring a great salesman! We did not feel pressured and every question was answered. Spoke with Steven who was very helpful. Purchased 5 year plan for additional savings. Cost comes down with each additional year of coverage. I have not yet made a claim but will as soon as there is a problem with one of my covered appliances or systems.

Sam did an excellent job at quoting the best rate and adjusting my wait time for the warranty. He was professional and prompt. He offered another plan that I wasn't aware of that actually cost less than the plan I had selected. This warranty was $100s on dollars less than another company online.

Called in to clarify billing question. Customer Service was very helpful. I Purchased a plan last month and had some questions regarding the final payment of the plan that was purchased. The agent was extremely helpful. She provided the next billing date, the end term-date of the plan as well as the information regarding the account that will be charged.

I just had the best phone conversation ever with a customer service representative. His name is Bryan **. Bryan was very clear and informative as to the inclusions under my Platinum Care plan. He was courteous and friendly and a joy to speak to. Bryan should be commended for his clarity of the description of the plan I was interested in and the value therein. He was quite helpful with explaining the benefits of the plan as compared to a competitor I inquired about, as well as the multi-year discount savings. I was interested in getting a home warranty since I had a great experience earlier this week with my car's extended warranty. Before I could finish reading everything online Peter **, an agent gave me a call. He asked a few pertinent questions. In return I asked him some. He answered with no hesitation. Peter asked if I'd like to proceed. We did and my home covered in less than 10 minutes. I could not believe that the process was so easy. After filling out the form on the website, I received a call from Jake at Select. He offered the most expensive plan (again, as expected) and I went over the options, stating what did and did not apply for my home. After agreeing on the plan, he then told me the pricing, emphasizing that prices go up from year to year. After some negotiating, I agreed to a 3+ year plan, the premiums to be paid in advance. We'll see what happens.

The customer service center said they will contact local technicians near my home and once they find the best company to resolve our needs they will contact me and send an email with all the necessary information to set up an appointment which will be both convenient and helpful.

Representative was informative and kind. Lucas answered my questions. He did try to upsell me on the insurance product, but was not pushy. I appreciate this. I was given the option of a three, five, and ten year plan with a military discount given that my husband served in Desert Storm. Although a great discount, I have never had a home warranty and was not comfortable extending past a year. Lucas kindly accepted my position and continued with the contract.

I’ve been with Select Home Warranty for a few years. Recently I moved and renewed my warranty and it’s only gotten better! They cover more than before, and offer a better valued of service! If you pay more in a annual advance, they can off you a higher discount as well!

Regretting that I switched to Select Home Warranty, their service is horrible. I don't know why the reviews are great for them but most of I know that has Select Warranty are complaining. My house plumbing issue has not been resolved almost 4 days and still in review. I can't believe it. I'm gonna cancel right away.

I have the VIP Package and my AC gave out in the middle of the summer which after paying $75 for tech to come out and recommended to replace my A/C. Select Warranty only is fixing a part even with a other things are wrong. Per the tech which said it is better to replace because at that point it’s cheaper compared to cost to add Freon and replace the part with labor and all else that is included. Terrible customer service and ethical practices.

I bought warranty services. My outdoor unit, the condenser broke, the technician came 7 days ago, the house is 89 degrees inside. The company still have not approved my claim, every time I call, they give me an excuse, one day they say it's approved and technician will call me to schedule, I wait, then I call both of them and say it's not approved yet. People answering the phone (John, Flo, and many others) they don't care about you. DO NOT BUY SERVICE FROM THIS COMPANY, NOT WORTH IT!

Scam. Liar. Didn't match the describe before I bought. I want to share I very terrible expense. Two months ago one of my friends recommends I should my home warranty. I went to Google search, found this company has very good feedback. I called the company. Would like to buy a home warry for my house appliance. I talked to some agents. They said I only pay for the first visit of a $60 deductible. The rest of the company will take care. "If the appliance is broken, we will take care of it and replacement to a new one or fix it. You don't need to pay any penny out of the pocket." After I talked to the agent, I decided to buy it.
A one-half month later my house garbage disposal doesn't work. I called. The company comes to check it out. They sent a technician to check it out. When the tech guy came I paid $60 to him right the way. He reports back to the company. Said it is broken, needs to replacement to a new one. Three days I need to go to buy a new one and find the handyman or tech guy to install. They are not paying for all this. They only pay me a $75 check after I buy it and provide the receipt to them. I am so upset and disappointed after I heard this. I told them to cancel my policy immediately. They said if I cancel the policy, they will charge $75. I said fine. Enough is enough. For almost a week I still didn't send me the cancelation notice. So I called my credit card company to cancel my payment. Beware of this company. Thank you!

I came home to find out by my neighbor that we had a major power surge in the community. It blew my AC and refrigerator so I was stuck with a hot house and my food was going to spoil. I called the 800# in panic mode not knowing what to do. The dispatcher said no worries and took down all of my information. Within 8 minutes after the call I had a confirmation of who was coming to fix it and when. The best customer service ever.

Select Home Warranty contacted me as our current service contract was to expire in 30 days. To renew my contract, the agent presented me with several options to make my next contract cover all my needs and at a very good price. One option was to use my own service tech if I desired and they would cover, which is one option not offered by another warranty company I was talking with. I contracted for 6 years at an awesome price of 5 years and my monthly fee is half compared to what I pay to other home warranty vendor. I have had another home warranty home which turned out to be less than promised. I have been reviewing all home service companies and their contracts. I decided on Select Home as their policies were priced fairly, their contract was easy to understand and the deductible was reasonable. This is our second home with a Select service contract. We had occasion to use the service on another home and they were there the next day, went and got the needed parts and came back the same day and repaired the garage door unit perfectly.

I was misled by Select... very bluntly. On June 30, 2021 I purchased a home warranty policy from Select Home Warranty, through a sales representative (known as Greg). When presenting the policy, Greg included Executive VIP membership for free (including certain additional coverage as well as same-day service). Since I have Freon AC, I asked him specifically about this coverage. Greg mentioned that "I'm in good hands because Freon will be covered as well". I made the purchase. When I received the policy, I noticed that the contract explicitly states that Freon is NOT covered. I emailed Greg but didn't receive any response.
I called him - he answered saying that he did receive the email but didn't have the time to respond yet. He mentioned the contract is "just a standard template and Freon is absolutely covered". He said he will send it in written within 24 hours. Greg did not answered my calls, voicemails or emails ever since. I called Select and they denied it all, and simply canceled my policy with a cancellation fee.

I have been on the plan for more than 30 day. Select Home Warranty is putting less than 30 days in the way of doing what we customers are paying for. Are they for real or is the company a scam. I placed a request for a plumber through my insurance policy. They immediately sent out a technician who said I needed my toilet rebuilt, but that the work order had to be approved first. The request was immediately approved and an incredible technician responded and did the work. I couldn’t have been happier. The repairman showed me the parts he replaced and explained why I need everything replaced. He left the working area cleaner than he found it.

She's been waiting almost two months for them to install a garbage disposal at our rental property. Today a new vendor was assigned, now the process has to start all over again. That's just crazy. I had been looking at Select Home Warranty online, and found I liked the offers and coverages; all at lower prices than other companies for home warranties I had been researching. On a budget due to only income is Social Security, it gives me peace of mind to know I can get help to repair or replace something in the coverage with no problems. I even got roof repair leaks for free! They gave a generous discount for paying annually; another discount for being a Senior Citizen; and if it had been applicable; also offered discounts for Veterans and Military that are currently serving.

Experience with rep. was 100% positive. She was polite and helpful. HOWEVER, it is now the end of the day and I called at 8:30 am. I got an email stating that someone would get back to me within 48 hours! So I am sitting with a leaking toilet until they “find” someone. Then. It will take a couple of more days until that person can come. So it could be 4-6 days before my toilet is fixed. Disgraceful. Never would have signed up if I had known this before.

I had National Fidelity Home Warranty for a couple of years and the experience wasn't bad, I just thought it wouldn't hurt to look around since my contract was going to expire in a month. I found Select and it was rated highly with more coverage, a cheaper annual rate and cheaper service calls, so I figured what the hell, why not. Ended up being almost half the annual fee as NFHW. So far I am happy but I guess time will tell. They do offer an anytime cancellation options which makes me feel better.

This seems like a great service and something you should be able to pay for and have peace of mind that they'll do what your policy states they'll do. Unfortunately that's not the case. I've been dealing with getting a claim approved and a technician out to fix our heater (which is covered in our platinum package). It is a boiler unit and I've given select the model number now over a half dozen times. They've rejected my claim claiming this an HVAC unit and quoting a part of the pick that has nothing to do with this type of heater. This is either gross incompetence or corruption from a typical low life company who has no problem taking your money, but not staying true on their end. From what I've seen stay clear and save your money! I'll be letting the multiple family members and friends I've suggested this company to when I signed up that their service is bogus and to cancel ASAP!

Never use this company. They will do anything not to honor a claim. We had a blower motor go out on our main AC unit for which we filed a claim. On our secondary AC unit there was a condensation leak for which we never filed a claim, but because the technician wrote down both problems on the same invoice Select would not honor the blown blower motor on the main unit. Plus, the technician they sent (who was a week late) never filed a diagnosis with Select. I paid $45 for nothing. Select wouldn't even reimburse me for their failure. Please don't use their services; you'll be taken to the cleaners!

I was lied to by them. They told me on the phone that both of my air conditioners was covered with my policy and now they told me only one is which would be the main floor. I was also told that have plenty of contractors in my area and when I put in a claim they said they don't have anyone in my area to service me that I would have to find someone on my own. Sold my condo and had paid Select Home Warranty in full for one year. Called to request a refund check for the remaining 7 months, and went directly to voicemail. After two weeks, and many voicemails that I left, I finally got an e-mail from a man by the name of James ** who said he would be glad to help me. A few days later he told me he had handled the matter and I should be receiving the refund check soon. I did receive a check in the amount of $218.35 (they charge $75 just to cancel).
When I went to my bank to deposit check, the Teller told me that a message kept showing saying, "Not Found On Positive Pay File". WHAT? Never in my 78 years has that ever happened. Called Mr. ** and left voicemail and backed that up with an e-mail. Received an e-mail back saying "Billing said they do that for Security reasons and told him to tell me to wait 48 hours and check can be deposited." Did just that, and the Teller tells me the same thing, "Not Found On Positive Pay File."
I asked to speak to the Manager at the bank and he said companies that use that dialogue do not have the funds. Called and sent another e-mail to Mr. **. Received an e-mail saying, "Went to billing again and they said to use an ATM to deposit check." BIG RED FLAG!!! If I did something stupid like that, I would not have the evidence without the check. I let Mr. ** know that on no uncertain terms would I do that, did he think I was an idiot! I received an e-mail early this morning saying, "I am trying to help you". Yeah, right!
I will not answer his e-mail but am writing this experience on Consumer Affairs, have already contacted the BBB in New Jersey and the Insurance Commissioner, and am now considering consulting with an FBI agent in my state to see if maybe they can help me with this scam. When I looked up the address on the check, it is a Marriott Hotel in Mahwah, New Jersey near an airport!
Further, the one service call I used to repair my clothes dryer, it took over 2 weeks to get a serviceman out (when you sign up they say "within 48 hours". When I called to complain, the man told me they did not have any service people available in my area and I would just have to wait! DO NOT GO WITH SELECT HOME WARRANTY. In fact, be sure and read ALL reviews before signing up with any Home Warranty companies. Be sure and read all the fine print, too!

I called to get my contract, since my Realtor bought the policy for my new home and they didn't have my email address. I was surprised my call was answered within minutes. Filed a claim with Select Home Warranty for a repair of our well pump. The process was fairly smooth. We sort of went around the usual process since we had called a tech out prior to getting a claim submitted but SHW worked with us and we were able to get a claim number and repair was done while our tech was there. Couple of things to be aware of. If you use your own repair person you will have to pay upfront and wait to be reimbursed which could take about 30 days. Also, sometimes the wait times can be long to update claims and there is no automated call back process. They really should look into implementing this.

He informed that the policy I was buying was transferable if I were to sell the house and that the deductible on the policy would not increase. I was very impressed with Bryan's knowledge and explanations of Select Home Warranty's different plans and programs. I signed up for the service and hopefully I will never have to use it but if I do I am confident Bryan and Select will provide the service needed. I have had home warranties before and have not had very good experience with them. I have an electrical outlet that is not working (no power to either plug/receptacle). I called SHW and got an immediate response. When I explained that I don't look at my email all the time, the Select Associate made sure that the contractor would text me. The time slot provided by the contractor was available and reasonable.

How I feel about my order with Select Home Warranty. 1st of all... Thank You Jake **. If you're not a pro, you act like one. It's not just the money. I think he knows...some is better than none. From the 1st to the last call Jake was never pushy. I had room to breathe & look and talk to other home warranty companies. He always gave me ideas as to look and ask different questions as to my needs. Even some comparable warranty companies without running them down. The sign up for this service was easy. I had a very difficult time in receiving the actual copy of the policy and had to call your customer service number three times until I finally got the copy of the policy. Overall I hope this policy gives my husband and I the coverage we need. The proof of the pudding will be if it becomes necessary to file a claim with your company.

Seems to be bad grounding from the dryer to wall. Wife got shocked when transferring clothes from washer to dryer. Damp clothing were leaning across water and dryer. The wall socket is as old as the house. Built in 1963. I am no electrician and Select home warranty has hooked me up with a local electrician. They did this in less than 24 hours.

Based on online reviews and offering on annual Home Warranty quote I opted to go with Select Home Warranty in December 2020 stopping my relationship with HSA. It was the biggest mistake I did and lucky for 6 months I didn't had any issues with my appliances. Recently there is water leak in my master bedroom which is pouring down to my main kitchen dinning area so called Select Home Warranty to submit the claim. I mentioned about Water Leak from my master bedroom and requested for plumbing services. There was no response for 3 days and I got the below email without any inspection done at my home.
Also when a claim is filed there won't be any text communication expect email which you keep checking regularly. When you receive the email from unknown contractor, you need to call them and schedule the call which doesn't seems customer friendly. HSA services were far better and also regularly they send communications on seasonal services which is missing with SHW.

The leak you are experiencing is caused by Cracked or Missing Tiles, Missing or Inadequate Caulking, Grouting or Physical Damage leaks Caused by Shower Doors or Curtains etc. The agreement covers Plumbing Leaks, from the Plumbing Systems Pipes, located within your Home, Not Leaks from Other Sources. We bought a 5 year contract from this warranty company. Every time we tried to have them address an issue in our home, they delayed, denied or never returned our call. The final straw was with our refrigerator, it had a power surge due to an electrical company fixing a transformer and blew the fridge's invertor control unit. We called this terrible home warranty and they said they could not get anyone there until 4 weeks!!! We called back 6 times and was finally assigned another repair company that told us it would be 3 weeks! We said no, and called back Select home warranty and explained the issue. They told us we could look on our own but get approval before any work is completed.
We called around and the 1st company we called was able to come out the next night at 530pm. They arrived at 6pm, had the part and called Select home warranty to approve the repair BUT select home warranty authorization dept. closed (9am-7pm EST). So instead of having this repair company come back (if they even could) they repaired it. Now Select home warranty will not reimburse us for the $450 repair bill! They agreed that the bill is concurrent with this type of repair, however since we didn't speak to anyone (they were closed) they are denying our claim. Please, Please do NOT use this company... I have owned 6 homes and had home warranty's with all, and this company, by far, is the absolute worst one ever. They constantly lie, delay and deny.

SCAM. READ THE FINE PRINT. I had a horrible experience. I had a claim for an AC unit 3 and a half years old "mechanical failure" from normal wear and tear. That was the evaluation from the tech they sent. Before that, I had an issue with the thermostat; they sent a repair tech to who I had to do a maintenance check. And found that the AC unit needed no maintenance. So when they processed the new claim to get a new AC unit, it was only approved for $150 because no maintenance records were available. I told them there weren't any because it was a new home, and the last repair tech after evaluation said the AC unit needed no maintenance.
This business is a crooked untrustworthy company that wants your free money. I recommend you stay as far away as you can. I try to resolve this issue for hours on the phone. I spoke to someone named ROBERT, employee number 5068; he said he was the highest manager, and there was no help or understanding. Please stay away from this company; they might have low rates, but it doesn't matter if they never cover your home.

Contracted with Select June 21. First claim, July 23 AC not working well. Called Select. Two days later they emailed me advising they do not have a provider, call my own. Contractor comes out, says I need new capacitor, $281.00. Authorization dept says no, too much $$. Advises me they will order part and I can have company return to install. After much conversation Select tells me they do not pay for installation. It's in the exclusions. Sales did not mention this when they solicited their policy. So I pay $424.00 per year, plus $60.00 per contractor visit and for this Select pays only for the part and only the cheapest part they can find. What a rip off. Buyer Beware....

In January 2020, we purchased a new home. After numerous hours of internet research, I decided to contact Select Home Warranty (SHW). I had several questions regarding the policy that the SHW website did not cover. So, I contacted SHW by telephone. My concerns were regarding depreciation on items covered, i.e., washer, dryer, air conditioning unit, refrigerator, etc. My recollection of the phone conversation with the salesman was, “Don’t worry, SHW will pay to have your item fixed and running again.” Note, he didn’t say replace at cost equivalent to the broken item, just fixed so it would be 100% operable without issues. I was okay with that. I just wanted the item working again.
In approximately May/June 2021, the only claim on the policy, the garage door opener stopped working. SHW requires one of their contracted repairmen assess the issue. Their repairman stated it would cost approximately $280 to get the garage door operational again. HOWEVER, SHW stated that the cost of the original garage door opener 15 years ago was only $125. So, they would only pay me the $125, NOT the cost of THEIR repair person of $280. They quoted all of the “Item, subsection, paragraph, etc. I don’t care, that is not what the salesman told me. Yes, their contract is numerous pages long. Did I read every single word, NO. My mistake was I relied on their salesman.
Please seriously reconsider purchasing a Select Home Warrant coverage. According to my experience, they will not pay to have the item/appliance fixed if they can determine the original cost of the item was less or they can find any other wiggle room to get out of paying the full repair price. Again, according to the salesperson on the phone that I talked to prior to purchasing the 3 Year contract, whatever the problem, SHW would fix it. DO NOT FALL FOR THE BANANA IN THE TAILPIPE. They will find any way possible to only pay a small portion of the expense if anything at all.

I purchased a home warranty from Select Home Warranty for 3 1/2 years. After 3-4 months my Heat pump went out. They sent out a company that not only misdiagnosed the issue but had no clue what they were looking at. They denied the claim stating it was a Freon leak that caused the issue. I disagreed with them and they said I could get my own technician out at my expense which I did. He confirmed the 1st company had no idea what they were doing and stated the motor had shorted out. He talked to the company. I followed up with them and they had no record of him calling. He called them again. I called back they did have record of him calling this time but called him again.
This time they told him to send an email which he did. I followed up after a couple of days and they had no record of the email. He forwarded me the email and I sent it to them while the rep was on the phone. He stated he would have it forwarded to be reviewed. I called back after 2 days and talked to a rep for stating he was talking to his supervisor then advised to watch my email in the next 1-2 days. After 4 days and no response I called again. They had no record of the previous call and the rep said they would forward it again. This time they did respond and denied it again stating they do not cover electrical issues. I would not recommend this company to anyone. They find a reason to deny any claim and drag their feet getting back to you causing us to be without A/C in the summer for over 1 month. Please do your research before buying a home warranty.

When I took out my contract I took the Platinum which was the best one. I started having trouble with my a/c coil being rusted bad and leaking Freon. I called them and sent pictures of my unit and they said, "Sorry it’s not covered," so I would definitely not recommend this company to anyone because I will have to get an attorney to get my money back and that’s sorry to scam people like that.

On July 3rd, I submitted a claim to Select Home Warranty for my kitchen garbage disposal, which stopped working. Prior to submitting the claim, I tried few troubleshooting tips through DIY videos and determined that the unit needs replacement and noted so in my claim. After no response came through for 3 days, I called SHW on July 7th for a status update and was told by one of the agents (name-princess) that the policy provides coverage for garbage disposal. However, the agent noted that they do not send a plumbing tech for such things, but instead, advised me to replace the unit myself and submit for reimbursement up to a maximum value of $75.
I was dismayed at their business practice of asking the customer to DIY (I neither have the tools nor the knowhow), but I was really upset that SHW did not even care to respond to my claim via email or phone call for 3 days until I called in. I expressed my displeasure at how they handled the claim and asked for cancellation of the policy. The CS quickly connected me to SHW loyalty department, and one of the staff offered apologies and assigned a plumbing company to this case and noted that the garbage disposal will be replaced by the plumber. On July 12th, a plumber showed up, inspected the garbage disposal, and reiterated that the unit needs to be replaced. He then collected $65 deductible, noted that he will need to wait for authorization from SHW to replace the unit and then left noting he will likely come back the next day. After 3 days went by, I contacted the plumber and was told that he is still waiting for the authorization from SHW.
I called SHW back on July 17th to find out why this claim is not being addressed. This time, CS agent (name -Sam) noted that the final resolution of this claim was already made and repeated the same standard response suggesting that I need to submit a reimbursement after replacing the unit myself. I have repeatedly told the agent that I have paid deductible for the plumber who showed up and that their loyalty dept noted that the unit will be replaced. But after the agent started repeating the standard policy details consistently, I asked for the supervisor. After a brief hold, I was told that there are no supervisors available at that time and was offered a call back that same day from one of the supervisors.
At that point, I lost my cool, and told them that if there is no immediate resolution on this claim within the next 24 hours, I will cancel the policy. No call from the supervisors since my call yesterday but received an email that my case is being escalated. I do not know what ‘escalation’ means but after waiting for 15 days to resolve a claim, I do not expect this company to do the right thing, and so should you, in case you are considering them. I can understand if the unit/equipment is not covered, but the way they handled a claim that is covered under the policy was not something I had experienced from my prior service provider. I am certainly moving away and am not coming back to the SHW. I will be following up on July 19th for two things - to give them a chance to replace the unit within next 24 hours and to cancel the policy. I will also consider filing a BBB complaint and take further action if things do not get settled.

THEY GET ZERO STARS....This company should not be in business is the bottom line. They are simply LYING CROOKS! Stupid me buys a 3 year rate home warranty, it is not worth the paper they printed it on! They will not pay a covered claim...The term " run around" is an understatement! They are experts at this. Here is my experience with them: I have a 2 story house with central A/C on first floor, and a heat pump/ AC on second floor. Second floor AC stops working, so I have a great friend that owns a huge, expert, successful HVAC business and he comes over and looks at it for free as a favor to me so I know what's going on with it and he immediately sees that the compressor has locked up and seized on the second floor unit...just needs a new compressor, that's all...even offers to fix it for me for his cost, maybe 500.00, I tell him don't worry, that I have a home warranty that covers this, so we just have a cold beer and call it a day.
I call SHW and they send their assigned repairman out who was very good btw and he comes up with the exact same diagnosis as my HVAC friend...No problem, right? Wife and I are standing right beside him when he contacts SHW to tell them what's going on..."the compressor is broke and needs replacement"...Plain and simple part needed to be ordered. A few weeks go by without AC and SHW refuses to pay for it...I'm like HUH?? Why not? This is where they are highly trained CROOKS: as they purposely take it upon themselves to write down a completely wrong diagnosis that was UNTRUE so they can deny the claim stating it was a "freon leak" therefore not covered. It was never this problem and I have the old compressor in my garage to prove it! It was a mechanical failure of the internal bearings of the compressor.
As usual and after countless hours wasted arguing my case with SHW they refuse to acknowledge what really happened so I get stuck with a 2100.00 repair bill and a month without AC. This isn't even about the money anymore, this is about SHW being a dis-honest corporation that expertly avoids obvious facts of your claim. The owner of the HVAC company that performed the repair wrote them a letter clarifying his diagnosis but even stated to me that SHW were a joke and they were completely LYING about what happened and could care less about what transpired in my case. DON'T BUY A HOME WARRANTY FROM SELECT HOME WARRANTY AS YOU WILL REGRET IT LIKE I AM RIGHT NOW!!!

Select Home warranty is absolutely terrible! Make sure you have maintenance records for 3 years, or they only cover 150.00. We bought our house 2 years ago and most of our equipment is 20 years old and it was like pulling teeth when we put a claim in. The HVAC company was awful, never showed up when they was supposed to. Called to find out our options, it’s been 3 weeks and no A/C. The customer service is very hit or miss (when trying to cancel the guy was was rude, like you were bothering him), every time it was a different story on what was covered and not covered. There are a lot of hidden charges associated with this warranty company. Would not recommend! Should have stayed with our last company!
