I decided to get a home warranty based on experiences of other homeowner friends. I did extensive research and decided on SHW. My sales rep was excellent at his job and covered all of my concerns. I haven't used the service yet, but am happy with the price, coverage, etc.

I was pleased with the person I spoke with. I explained what my problem was, and she understood what I needed. I have had to contact Select Home Warranty before, and someone was sent out in a timely manner. I did tell her not to send out someone from the company that came out before.

The salesperson was very patient in answering many of my questions. Suzanne ** and I are very satisfied that led us to feel confident that Select Home Warranty is the best choice. Having used the warranty the past three years, I have been very satisfied with the speed and efficiency in which each problem was solved. This is a renewal policy. The contracted repairmen are courteous and know their business. The price is well worth it, compared to other companies. Please do your homework.

Called 2 weeks ago to report a heater issue. At that time, Select's choice of repair company rejected the request. I called Select to report the repair company decline of repair appointment. Select said they would call another (gave me a choice of finding my own repair co to respond and have them call Select to approve repair. I opted Not to do this because I could see a company showing up, rejecting Select's price and that repair company charging me for a service call).. Select told me it would be 1 -2 weeks to get someone to my house. It's been 2 weeks, called select and the process is starting again... We'll see if repair people are willing to work with Select...

Employee George ** did a great job answering all my questions concerning Select Home Warranty program. It is my first home warranty contract and George made the process very simple. The customer service people have really been great and they have been trying to get the service people to come out. The service company are not working with Select Home Warranty. This has been going on for over a week. Select Home warranty keeps right on trying to get this solved.

The Select Home Warranty team contacted me within 2 minutes of my inquiry for home warranty services over the phone while I was still online filling out the questionnaire for a quote. Now that's fast response service. In addition, the rates they provided me were unbeatable; especially, the extended warranty package options that I qualified for as a military veteran. Overall, this is the type of service I would expect from a company that I want to standby me in the event I need support for my home.

I Ordered Home Appliance Warranty- Representative was very Knowledgeable - Efficient - Courteous. He explained several options to reduce the annual costs of the appliance warranty. Additionally, he offered monthly or annual programs, and even added roof leak coverage at no cost. Great Experience. I would make this purchase again.

I spoke to Jonathon for about 30 min who shared tons of information about the organization. He was very patient and accommodating. He went over average service times and the companies that Select Home Warranty works with. I'm very impressed! I had a multitude of bad experiences with AHS, my previous home warranty company and it is refreshing to know that the customer is valued at Select Home Warranty. Their awards seem to speak for the service you'll receive!

The call was a bit used car like, however, in the end we got what I believe to be a very good deal. Once I filled out the online form, the phone rang immediately. Not what I had hoped for. After a few minutes on the phone the price came down significantly on the multi-year deal. I hope the ongoing services is acceptable.

The rate was really good which is why I went with this company but I will say they were pretty pushy. I received multiple calls and emails and it was honestly pretty overwhelming. But I got a great rate so I called to lock it in. They did have good customer service but again on our last call they tried to sell me more years of coverage.

It is comforting to know service calls will be handled within 24 hours. Great to deal with on this beginning contract and have high hopes for service when and if needed. When I initially called Select Warranty, I had no idea that I would have the privilege of speaking to Steven ** who was very easy to contact and work it. He respected and understood my position regarding a new warranty company and made me feel very welcome and answered all of my questions. I came from another provider who I wasn't happy with and researched many other companies. Select was not the cheapest but they did not pressure the sale or try to contact me multiple times a day like their competitors. Overall I was happy with the purchase and hoping that if I need service they are as responsive to my needs.

Very helpful customer service. Got it for a very good price. I am a new owner So I haven't come across with any issues yet. I will have to see their service If I get any issue. Purchasing the policy was easy. Customer care explained me clearly about the policy and it was quick. And the extra 2 months is an added benefit and the roof coverage is free which made me to go for this company.

The home heater is not operating. The thermostat is set correctly for heat and the fan is operating but there is no heat. I have tried various settings of the thermostat and tested the system many times with no success, 50 words. So far Home Select has been very helpful and easy to work with, I hope this will continue as they provide excellent service.

While on the phone to order theirs, I decided to sign up for my personal home. I received incredible customer service. Very clear answers to all of my questions, and no pushing for extra sales. The call was quick and easy and they didn't give me the runaround like other companies do. Also had the most coverage for the least amount of money and I compared to about five other companies. The computer to the pilot of the Gas AC was not operating.... The Repair personnel was polite, clean, and wore covering on his shoes when entering the home.... He called before he arrived on time as promised, and had to go to get the part and then he came back and called first.. Lots of notice, it only took a couple of days... I was very happy... Very happy with the deal I received. Agent was very helpful and quite informative. He helped me through the process and was extremely helpful in answering all my concerns. I am sure it will be a very positive experience. The services provided were more than I has expected especially the sprinkler system.

The enrollment process was very fast and the representative was friendly and knowledgeable, he answered all my questions. He was never pushy to get any additional products, he explained the coverages and different types of packages that the company offers. I will highly recommend this company, great customer service and the best of all is they do not take that long to answer the phone.

I started the process online but then called to ask some follow up questions. Select was one of the higher rated companies in my search with initially a better price and value. Speaking with representative Fred **, I found he was very knowledgeable, courteous, and professional. He allowed me to leave the conversation and call back after reviewing with my husband and was never pushy. Highly recommend based on initial contact.

This is day 4 with no hot water!!!! Have not heard from plumber, have not heard back from anyone!!!! 4 days without hot water is unexpected, from a legitimate insurance company. What's up???. It's the bottom of the 9th with 2 strikes against you, please don't strike out! If you would like me to sign up for next year, I would suggest you respond!

Barry was very helpful in describing how the service works, as well as the available incentives to extend contract life. I elected for the Platinum plan, as that seems to provide the best match for my needs, and includes coverage for potentially expensive appliances, as well as the HVAC system. I'm looking forward to having Select Home Warranty be my safety net against large unseen expenses!

I've had Select Home Warranty for 2 years. I have used them twice and my experience on both was very satisfactory. Also, when I spoke to Zachary to renew my contract, he offered me the best plan that will give me maximum benefit in terms of cost. He offered me a 3 yr. plan with 6 months free which cost less than if I get a one yr. plan. Also, the service call fee was lower.

Great protection From a thing that can happen with the new home purchase. You hope to never need them but if I do I'm glad I have them. The cost for extra protection is pennies compared to the benefits. And even roof leaks are covered, how awesome. My salesman was patient and knowledgeable. I signed up for three years of protection.

Seven ** was my phone rep. Very courteous, prompt and knowledgeable. Offered additional savings that were not originally offered. Patient when I had to get off the phone to get info from my agent and lender. Called back later and we completed the transaction. Moe ** was very knowledgeable and help me by answering every (?) that I had and trying to make sure I chose the right policy for us. My husband is 76 and I am 67 and this is the 1st time we have ever purchased a Home Warranty. We plan on moving sometime this year and I wanted to make sure we could transfer the policy or move it to the New House.

I signed up today with Select Home Warranty & I spoke with Sean. Sean was extremely friendly & helpful over the phone. He provided me with much details on the plan I purchased. The plan I signed up for was worth the price & covered the items I was looking for. I look forward to working with Select Home Warranty & I hope I have a better experience compared to the last home warranty company that I dealt with.

By far, the worst experience I have ever had with a warranty co. I have a claim open since 4/21. They cannot even find my last contact on 11/9 with Thomas referring me to an Aman Plumbing. The voicemail is full with this company and nobody is calling me back from them. I get cut off when I call them. All I get is excuses. They are horrible. You are wasting your money with them. They even have to search hard to get a plumber (should be very easy) in Orange City Ca. This is because they pay them way below what a good plumber would get. Again, buyer beware!!!

The representative was courteous, knowledgeable & help me to find the plan that would work best for us. Their coverage was very complete & competitive. They included features such as roof damage & a deductible that was very reasonable. They also offer multi year plans to save additional funds. I would recommend Select Home Warranty for your coverage needs.

Select Home Warranty was the best option available. I got a great deal and the representative was patient and thorough and answered all of my questions and I asked a lot of questions. I also was very happy with the service fee. It is much lower than most companies. Great company!

Just signed up with this outfit. Features and benefits were explained fully and our questions were answered completely. Our coverage does start for a month, so I can’t comment on service quality. But, based on this initial contact, I’m confident any service calls will be handled to our satisfaction. So far, so good. Will review again after our first service call.

Moe was really terrific. He covered all the options and offered me the most attractive (in my view) package. He went above and beyond the quick service call one usually gets treated to. Consequently, he signed me up for a multi-year contract and I will refer your company to friends and family.

I called Select Home Warranty because my real estate agent suggested that they were the best in the business. The salesperson explained the details of the different plans and gave me the option of selecting the plan that I desired. I appreciated the fact that the salesperson did not apply any high pressure sales techniques.

I purchased the Gold plan. The transaction was fairly quick however I had to follow up a few days later because I had not received the policy agreement email. Once I sent a follow up email, the policy agreement was delivered to my inbox within an hour. I have not had to use the warranty yet so no comments on the value and service level yet.

Two years ago my 6 year old water heater died. I contacted Select Home Warranty to file a claim. They refused to approve a replacement, instead they approved the replacement of the burnt out elements that allowed $200 towards the cost. A few days ago the same water heater died. The plumber had to replace it because it was inoperable and they could not fix this 8 year old water heater. When I called to file a claim, they refused to pay for the cost of replacement saying they can't pay if the unit was leaking, which it wasn't. I tried to explain to them it wasn't leaking. I was told that's the policy in the contract. Before you go with this company, make sure you ask for a copy of their contract and read it carefully. Their sales tactics are very questionable.

We had an issue with our refrigerator and reported it 2 1/2 months after I purchased the plan. For over two weeks they were trying to get someone to come out to my house (way too long). After two weeks they told me to get my own person and have them send them the cost to fix. Once I sent them the price a few days later I get an email that they are not covering it because I wasn’t at my 2 months. Apparently you have to wait a month after you pay and then the 2 months start. The real problem being in the 2 weeks I was on the phone with multiple people trying to get a repair person to my house not one person mentioned this leaving me over two weeks without a working fridge in my kitchen. I was so angry at the incompetence I demanded my policy be canceled. I was told they would have to keep $75 as per the contract and a small amount for the time the contract was in service.

Worst Experience. Do not get enticed with the offers and do not go with this. 1) Filed claim for AC unit not working, they provided us a technician. 2) Technician fixed and filed claim to replace bad board (AC Unit was running) - 60 $ out of pocket. 3) Technician came and replaced (this took 3-4 weeks) the board - 200 $ covered from warranty. 4) AC Unit again not working. 5) Called Select Home and they filed it as separate claim. 6) Another Technician was assigned and he came and mentioned motor gone as the board replacement was not correct - 60 $ out of pocket. 7) In talk with the Claims Team and after 2 weeks or so they are planning to cover 500$ and 800$ we need to pay out of pocket.

Unit was 3 years old, replacement cost was more than double my settlement. I’m concerned the depreciation placed on products I may have and the cost to replace if fails. (ie: central heat and A/C units). This was my first claim since having my policy so my initial cost paid for the policy is nowhere near any claim(s) I may or have submitted.

I called on a Sunday night and reported that my electric had gone out in my garage, they were very fast in starting the claim process. Now I am waiting to see how fast the electrician can be here to resolve the problem. Unfortunately I did not have my policy number handy but it did not matter they helped me immediately.

Answered all my questions quickly and efficiently. Have had a lot of bad experiences with home warranty companies, and seems like this option is a great one. Transparent contract, allows you to choose your own service provider, great value for money, lots of offers, referral program, etc. etc. Feels good to be protected.

Updated on 09/04/2022: Isaac was very professional and gave me many options from which to choose. He was courteous and understanding. I renewed at a great rate and now have locked it in for the next 42 months. Great Job! Keep up the good work.

I have not used them yet but the sign up process was very easy and the price seems fair. The coverage seems pretty extensive and I'm feeling confident I made the right choice for home warranty. If I make any claims I will be sure to follow up my review.

I reviewed online and had determined to switch home warranty companies, but when I received the call from Sean, I was totally convinced I had made the right choice. He was kind and patient and got me the best price with a low service fee. If you have a home warranty company, I highly urge you to give SHW a call, before you renew. When I was looking for a replacement home warranty company, I was very pleased with the young man that answered at Select Home Warranty. He answered all my questions and gave me better coverage at a better price than I was getting from my previous home warrant company! So far I have not had to use their service, but it's a relief knowing that they are only a phone call away if/when I need them.

Good plan for the money, I think I would recommend them depending on how it works if I have to file a claim, never know what will transpire until the test is made by the client to see how good the service will be when you need it to be there for you.

Customer service for ordering new home warranty was outstanding! My rep didn’t try to sell me in coverage I didn’t need, and even recommended removing stuff that he said would be silly for me to add. I am happy to purchase my very first home warranty plan with low locked down rate for 5 years + 1 bonus years (totally, for 6 years with the same rate). It was easy to quickly get a policy. The only thing lacking is it is difficult to find a customer support page on their website. All in all I was able to get ahold of people and keep the coverage in place. This is a great policy for anyone who is trying to sell their home and wants to have coverage while they are negotiating and selling up to close.

I thought I would be receiving an email after I signed up yesterday. There is a 30 day waiting period before the warranty starts. I received a text today, stating if I called, I could get an extra $100.00 off. I purchased the year plan. When I called, I was told the price I was given yesterday already reflects that $100. I’m hoping I won’t have any trouble transferring when I move out of state.

I have multiple accounts and use them. Not sure which account this review is for, but have always done an excellent job. I have my home and 3 rent houses with Select. It is a great company and would recommend to anyone. They answer promptly and usually get repairman there very quickly.

Signing up was easy and they had the best rates available at the time. They did try to upsell, which was expected, but the sales representative wasn't too pushy and backed down when I said I wasn't interested. They forwarded my policy very quickly and the contract makes all the terms very clear. I would recommend them.

Nice salesman of course tried to upgrade me for more than a year. Took CC info quickly and no ** direct to point. Salesman answered questions quickly, easy to speak with. I can not state how warranty is as of now but looks good, as long as it works the way it is stated.

I was very happy initially with the negotiation. However, when I received the contract, it stated that it was for 5 years, and I had been told it was for 6 years. That is the reason I gave 4 stars, and if it is not resolved, I will lower it to 1 star.

Quite straight and to the point! I was in a hurry and they were pretty fast. That’s important in fast pace world. These warranties are very attractive when selling or buying a new home. Covers all the bases and less headache. The best part it’s transferable and that’s important especially when selling a new home. We moved from American Homeshield for the specific reason of not being able to get our service as expected. Currently, we have two properties with Select Home Warranty in TX and so far we are happy. No hot water pours inside the clothes washer when washing starts and continues even if the both valves of hot/cold water are opened. It is a long time for me and tenant to wait for 24-48 hours. I hope we can get a resolution within 24 hours. I expect to receive an email reply within 5 hours. I called your customer service representative, as you returned an email reply after I waited for it more than 5 hours.

The representative explained the coverage for each plan in details and also provided payment flexibility. He was very professional and answered all my questions with regards to plan and services offered. The only area I would recommend improvement is to give time for customers to get back rather than creating a situation where customer need to make a decision right away otherwise one would lose the deal. After shopping around and being a bit hounded by telemarketers Select Home Warranty came up with a 5-6 year plan that was too good to pass up. Ask them about multi-year plans. You will not be disappointed by the rate, the coverage, and the service charge. If their customer service is as good as it was on the sales call I will be a happy customer well beyond five years.

If you like fighting hours over the phone for every claim you file, and getting denied before the details are even provided, choose Select Home Warranty. This program was purchased by my mil for her home in August. Before she bought 3 years of service, she asked the salesman if boilers were covered. He assured her they were. That is the only heating system in the house. Three months into the program, one of the valves in the boiler wouldn't turn on. She called Select Home Warranty to see if there was a protocol for repairs since she had not received the promised policy handbook after asking for it 5 times over the past 3 months. They opened up a claim at that time.She was told she could use the company that had serviced it last. So she went forward with an appointment with them. They came, they ordered parts, and came back to repair.

It was extremely easy in speaking with Tom in regards to getting a new home warranty. He answered all my questions with ease. Got 14 months coverage for 12 month cost. I hope I never have to use this warranty, but as we know some items just fail after years of use.

Garage door needs to be replaced. It's. Old. And falling apart. I would much prefer to speak to someone in the United States. The gentleman in the Philippines kept saying “garage opener“. It's the DOOR that’s falling apart. The gentleman I talked to was nice but I’m not sure he understood. The door is old and falling apart.

They offered $95 on a $550 repair. I bought a 5-year plan for $2749. I asked for a refund and they charged me for a 1-year warranty $750 and charged for 3 services calls $705 while under warranty and $75 cancellation fee.

I called the warranty number. They were very professional. The refrigerator wasn't cooling properly. They scheduled a repairman to come. It took one week for the appointment. Repairman was very professional and knowledgeable. He had to order a part. Part was delivered to our home. Appointment for the Repairman was scheduled about a week out. Repairman came and replaced the part. The only complaint I have was it took two weeks for us to get our refrigerator back in order. I’m sure COVID had a part in the delay.

The representative is very knowledgeable and patient. Explained everything with clarity and provided me the exact services that is needed by my house. My house has an above ground spa that is typically not covered by others but SHW did. I like the flexibility of SHW’s plan that allowed me to tailor very specific items in my contract.

The electric panel on my stove was fried during an electric storm. Because the panel controls the oven, I was left without an oven. Select Home Warranty sent someone from Sears Appliance Repair. Sears ordered the expensive part, and Select agreed to cover it. When the part arrived it took Sears a while to return, but I called Select and the job was performed quickly afterwards. It took a few weeks for repair due to the part, but select did everything possible to fix my panel and oven.

It was like pulling teeth to get my contract sent to me or to even showed what I ordered ... That being said… their pricing blows the other companies out of the water and nothing can be worse than American Home Shield which I had before … thanks to the lady I talked with today she finally got me going with my contracts.

Refrig stopped cooling and ice maker quit. When submitting my claim, I listed the ice maker first and in the Add’l Info box I listed the lack of cooling. When speaking to them, they reminded me that I had not purchased coverage for the ice maker. AND as my negligence caused the claim to be denied, this also prevented them from covering the refrig lack of cooling, for which I DID have coverage. I later learned they have B rating from the BBB. DO NOT be deceived by SHW. They will seek ways to deny claims.

Have been sold BEST, offered extra free months for a good review, I was assured plenty technicians and quick service. No one wants to work for this company, they never pay and it’s a FRAUD. Stay away! They will promise you everything and they will never have technicians to come out for $75 so you end up paying at least $150! Had 4 claims in over 3 months properly documented, not a penny received from them. They twist you around their fine print and will not pay. Save your money, pay more and use a reliable company.

Since they made so many excuses to fix the plumbing problem that I had, they told me that it was not approved since it was the fixture, even though they didn't even go to see it. I asked to cancel the policy since I have never used it and they threatened me saying that they would send me their attorney since I had a contract with them. I bought it in August and they have a month of waiting to use it and we are at the beginning of October, they don't want to give me my credit, that for me indicates that the company is terrible and fraudulent. My understanding when I bought this policy was that I could cancel it at any time, especially if I have not used it even once. I have other policies with other companies and I have never had a problem with them, DO NOT used them. It is the worst and that is my personal opinion.

My AC stopped working, I made a claim on it, it was painless and simple. I was told to give them 24-48hrs. To my surprise they were out the same day. The tech said it needed to be replaced, I'm waiting on the response from Select for the outcome of it.

Contacted company based upon their ratings and talked with a Sean **. He was very helpful in providing the details of the coverage of the policy and offered a reduced annual rate if paid in advance. Then he inquired if I was a Senior or a Veteran and when he told me I qualified for a further reduction in annual rate and it was set for life. I mean who the heck does that. I opted for a 5yr plan and am very happy with receiving a free year of coverage and a reduced service fee. Imagine that. Select Home Warranty really takes care of the elderly and Veterans and "I thank them for their service to veterans and elderly". It's about time we show our appreciation to company's that take care of us.

I received an email from this company and passed it on to my boyfriend who was unhappy with his home warranty company. I have been with my company for seven years and while I have generally received good service from them, there are many items they do not cover and it is much more expensive. I have submitted my claim in August and has not been resolved even after 2 months. I have to call them every day wasting 30 min of time. The customer service agents are amazing and bear my anguish and sympathize with me but unfortunately work never gets done. After a month, they send me parts which are wrong and I am going through this torture every day. I have 2 small kids and 2 dogs and are suffering for the last 2 months with them not fixing the issue. The mechanical company they send were very prompt and tried their best to help me. They even offered to put the parts needed for repair which could have fixed the issue in a week but Select Home Warranty company does not allow them to. They say they will send the parts and end up sending wrong parts.

Coverages are comparable to others, but if you purchase a longer contract term the value far outweighs anything anyone else is offering. Support lady took my information and opened a claim so my question can be reviewed Service rep was very nice and accommodating. I called in the early morning. My call was picked up immediately. Service person told me she would enter the claim and I get a response by email.

They Called quickly after I requested quote, and gave great info. Look forward to seeing how this company responds to claims, and if they keep their word. Also, need to make sure confirmation email is sent.

This is the worst company I have ever come across. The HVAC blower stop working more than 2 weeks ago and they have been asking for excuses and today I got the email that I am approved for only $150 even the HVAC company gave more than $800 quote. I had to fix the issue myself a week ago. Can you imagine a company taking more than 2 weeks in summer to come back for issue. Also I complained for a water heater valve leaking and they said it is not covered even the contract says the "Water heater accessories are covered"

On Dec 8, 2020, I purchased a 5-year home warranty contract with Select Home Warranty for $1,925.00, which includes 30 days of waiting period and 12 months of free coverage, bringing the end date to Jan 7, 2027. My contract was supposed to provide me with an Executive VIP Membership and Platinum Care. On May 20, 2021, I submitted a service request for my oven which could not ignite immediately, causing a small amount of gas leakage.

Please avoid this Select Home Warranty, they promised everything to sign a contract, but when you file a claim they find every reason to refuse the coverage. You can go to Facebook and typing Select Home Warranty complaint, It will show a fan page Select Home Warranty Scams. And thousand people in there have the same situation with me. And the way they take care of the claim is not correctly as well. This is totally a scam and the other good reviews here you guys need to be careful that might not be the real one.

SHW provides intelligent sales information and makes their offerings and service sound great... but beware... once you have paid for a service plan, SHW switches to some of the worst business practices. I call it bait and switch.... providing so much misinformation and changing the process. Once you catch on, they will begin to hang up the phone mid call. The promise is to help get your appliance repaired and to cover the costs for covered items.

When something seems too good to be true..it usually is. I purchased a warranty from Select Home Warranty a few months ago, the rep I spoke with (Steven **) hyped it up like it was the best thing since sliced bread. Then when I tried to used it the truth of it came to light. They sell it as an Appliances package but when you try to use it you find out there’s a whole host of parts that isn’t covered (I’d say about 70%). They just told me I was approved to receive $95 for a $570 microwave that was only a year and a half old. And my refrigerator and upright freezer wasn’t covered.

Superior knowledge of their company policies and procedures from labor charges and ways to get them lower by choosing the right plan for me to use. All questions were answered satisfactorily. I was able to choose the plan for my family. I would definitely recommend Select to my friends in my neighborhood.

I submitted a claim for a leaking pipe within my wall inside my home. After securing my own plumbing company to diagnose and provide a quote, I was told that it would take 2-3 days for approval of the repair. Really??? On a water leak that could flood the house??

I'm happy with the deal that I got from Select Home Warranty. I wanted to ensure my properties were protected to avoid any surprise repairs. Speaking to the service team helped me get exactly what I was looking for. I am yet to use their services as there is a 30 day waiting period.
